- 0:00As part of Ferrari Fridays, William Ross from the Exotic Car Marketplace
- 0:04will be discussing all things Ferrari and interviewing people that live
- 0:07and breathe the Ferrari brand.
- 0:09Topics range from road cars to racing, drivers to owners, as well
- 0:13as auctions, private sales, and trends in the collector market.
- 0:23Hello everyone!
- 0:24Glad to have you back.
- 0:26This is William here.
- 0:27Welcome to the Ferrari marketplace.
- 0:29Hey, I just kind of want to give a couple I guess not say shout outs, but
- 0:33just kind of some Info out there and get you get some things here growing If
- 0:39you just kind of do go on Facebook I got the Ferrari marketplace in a group for
- 0:43posting and any cars that any Ferraris you have for sale or a Ferrari You're
- 0:48looking for if there's some specific model whatnot post it on there and we
- 0:51can see we can do to help you And as you know, we got the podcast and coming soon,
- 0:56we're going to have the YouTube channel.
- 0:58It's a, the channel name's already up, but I haven't got any content
- 1:01yet, but working on that, uh, next week, headed out to California to
- 1:05go to some Ferrari events that are going to be really, really special.
- 1:08So it's going to be some really good stuff.
- 1:10So keep your eyes out for that.
- 1:12Um, I'll let you know, uh, the next podcast when I got that drop, but just
- 1:16kind of keep an eye out there and, you know, check on YouTube and you'll see it.
- 1:18And, uh, I'll post it out there and, uh, all the places on.
- 1:22Facebook, YouTube, and they also got the web page, you know, www dot
- 1:26the Ferrari marketplace dot com.
- 1:28So check it out and let me know.
- 1:29Um, it's not the greatest.
- 1:30I'm not the most digitally advanced person.
- 1:32Um, you know, just as I don't know if I mentioned before, you know, my A.
- 1:36D.
- 1:36D.
- 1:36Really kind of prohibits me from actually sitting down for hours on end and trying
- 1:41to put the thing together because I just get distracted and I just get frustrated.
- 1:44And so it's best bet, you know, to go out there and utilize and get
- 1:49some support from other people.
- 1:50I don't know if you ever used it.
- 1:52I highly recommend Fiverr.
- 1:53Um, they're not paying for any sponsorship on this.
- 1:56I'm just letting you know that Fiverr is awesome to, you know,
- 1:59get some other things done and hire some freelance people.
- 2:02Uh, I've used them a few times and it's relatively inexpensive.
- 2:06You know, it's not like thousands of dollars.
- 2:07It's a hundred bucks here, 50 bucks there to get something simple done.
- 2:10Um, so I got a guy working on a couple of things for me now to
- 2:13kind of give me a little better exposure and spruce things up a bit.
- 2:17But anyways, so for today's episode, what I want to talk about.
- 2:22Is the brand new Ferrari Formula One car that just got dropped.
- 2:27Now, I don't know how much all of you follow F1, but I'm a huge rabid
- 2:31fan for God knows how many years.
- 2:34Um, you know, back in the golden era, so to speak, from the 80s all the way on.
- 2:40And, you know, the beautiful, you know, gorgeous, you know,
- 2:43V12s and the V10s and V8s.
- 2:45You know, that screaming sound that they would have, that was just, ah.
- 2:49And if you ever had the opportunity.
- 2:51I don't know demographic wise, but age wise, but there was nothing like
- 2:56hearing that V8, V10 screaming in person.
- 3:01It was just unbelievable sound that was done.
- 3:06I mean, it just was, it just sent chills up your spine.
- 3:08It just really, really made it.
- 3:09And it was, it was sad when they had to go, uh, to the, uh,
- 3:14electric stuff, um, and that.
- 3:17And, you know, especially with the, all the turbo stuff they had to use and kind
- 3:21of really just muted the sound now, I don't know how it said high fall, but
- 3:25I've heard some of these cars because they really worked on that for these new cars.
- 3:29And I think actually having this extra year really kind of helped also,
- 3:32because I know they were supposed to drop for 2021 season, but because of
- 3:36COVID and the pandemic, they decided to push it out for the 2022 season.
- 3:40So I honestly think that was very, very.
- 3:43fruitful for the teams, especially and the FIA, you know, getting it right, getting
- 3:48the sauce right, so to speak, you know, because, you know, this is, you know,
- 3:52the premier racing event in the world, you know, it's, um, you know, it's second
- 3:57to none, you know, there's, I think, you know, soccer is the only more viewed
- 4:01sport in the world, you know, after F1.
- 4:04So, or before F1, I should say.
- 4:06Um, so it's, it's just a phenomenal sport and you're watching it and, you know,
- 4:12You know, some people may look at it, you know, Oh, well, these guys got certain
- 4:16teams dominate and everything like that.
- 4:17Well, it's, it's a cycle.
- 4:19It always happens.
- 4:19You have Mercedes has been, you know, pretty much leading the
- 4:22pack here since what, 2014 now.
- 4:24But hey, you know, Max Verstappen last year, he put it, I, that was awesome.
- 4:28I couldn't believe that last race.
- 4:30That was phenomenal.
- 4:31And hats off to Massey, Massey, I already pronounced his last name, you
- 4:35know, for making that decision to let those five cars between him and Lewis.
- 4:42Hey, no, get around it.
- 4:43Let's have a last lap dash.
- 4:44I mean, hey, there's a lot of money in line.
- 4:46I get it prestige and whatnot.
- 4:48But you know what?
- 4:48This is for the viewer and you talk about I was jumping up and down screaming when
- 4:54that last lap started and Max got past him and You know, nothing against Lewis,
- 4:58but I'm just not a big fan of Lewis.
- 5:00Um, I just don't, I don't know.
- 5:02I just don't appreciate how he presents himself and handles his business.
- 5:06But, um, you know, I was, I was a Max Verstappen fan.
- 5:09So, I mean, after being my Ferrari fan with Leclerc and Carlos there.
- 5:14But, um, that was an awesome, awesome race.
- 5:16So I don't know if he had the opportunity to catch it, but I highly, you know, I've
- 5:19watched, I've re watched it a few times.
- 5:21Now, I haven't re watched the whole race.
- 5:23I watched the last about 15 minutes.
- 5:25But still, it's just phenomenal to watch.
- 5:27It still gets me just tingling.
- 5:29It's just awesome to see.
- 5:30But anyways, get back to what we're going to talk about is the new Ferrari F1 car.
- 5:35So, obviously, in the past years, they were supposed to come out
- 5:39in 2021 because of the pandemic.
- 5:41They get released this year and they, um, starting to drop all the
- 5:45things, teams are starting to drop it.
- 5:46Um, so, it's interesting to see, um, everyone's take on
- 5:57the rules and regulations and how they interpret it.
- 6:00Now, um, It's, you know, I mean, it's a completely different design because
- 6:07what I said, how much you follow it or whatnot now, you know, prior what they
- 6:11have no way back, you know, um, was in the seventies into the eighties, you know,
- 6:16they actually had the ground effects, you know, Lotus was pretty much the pioneer
- 6:19of it and coming out with those cars.
- 6:22And it was really interesting concept and how they did it.
- 6:24Cause they had these like floating.
- 6:27little side pod like these composite material that actually moved up and
- 6:31down because it had to go with the flow of the road because if If you it got
- 6:37too high or whatnot thing all sudden all the suction was lost and it just
- 6:41you're in the wall You know, they were if you if you lost it forget about it.
- 6:45You were done It was not a fun fun time to be driving that car but anyway, so the
- 6:50name got away from You know, uh, you know, doing that type of car and having ground
- 6:58effects and they moved to that flat bottom and it's, you know, they call it a wood,
- 7:02you know, it's just a wood plank, um, that was underneath the car and because it kind
- 7:07of gave, you know, for regulation wise, the monitor, be sure ride heights and
- 7:10everything along those lines and stuff, you know, you know, sparks flying, all
- 7:14that jazz, um, you know, went to those.
- 7:16So basically the cars were basically just reliant on the wings and airflow
- 7:23around the car and over the car.
- 7:25So that's what created the problem.
- 7:26Their cars following is the air that was disrupted coming over the car
- 7:30was so turbulent behind the car, the car following It took all the air
- 7:36and everything off it, so you had no downforce, so you couldn't get in the
- 7:40corner going, I mean, and you're going to have to put more steering input into the
- 7:43steering wheel, you know, so obviously what that does, it scrubs more on your
- 7:46tires, so it's ruining your tires quicker, you know, so all the effects kind of
- 7:49just compounds and goes down the line, so that was the biggest problem is, you You
- 7:54couldn't follow another car and try and make anything competitive and pass them.
- 7:57So, you know, and they came up with a brilliant idea for the DRS, you know, and
- 8:00I don't know, you can love it or hate it.
- 8:02I don't know.
- 8:02I, it's one half of one of the other, but it's just a foregone conclusion
- 8:07when someone's within a second behind that person and they dropped that little
- 8:11button, that thing opens up, they're going to pass them, you know, so it's
- 8:14not so much down to drivers, just around a drop of that thing and straight
- 8:17line So, you know, they're, they're still going to have it for 2022, but.
- 8:25I don't know how much it'll, you know, be fixed.
- 8:27I don't know, it'll be interesting.
- 8:27I mean, obviously, you know, they created it because they wanted to have passing.
- 8:30I mean, they, they started, they put it in DTM.
- 8:32They did the same thing because, I mean, no one really wants
- 8:35you to see freight trains.
- 8:36People want to see passing going on.
- 8:37And, you know, this past season was phenomenal in regards to,
- 8:41you know, passing, interaction, everything on the track.
- 8:43And, I mean, if you seriously look, At, you know, top to bottom of the field,
- 8:47you know, you're not talking like a difference of 15 seconds, 20 seconds from
- 8:50the first place guy to last place guy.
- 8:52You know, you're talking maybe a second, eh, depending on the track, you
- 8:55know, you get down to some slow guys.
- 8:57You know, it could be only about 2 seconds per lap that they're slower.
- 9:01And 2 seconds is not that much.
- 9:031 1000, 2 1000.
- 9:04That's it.
- 9:05So, I mean, that is how much difference it is, and then slower going on the track.
- 9:08But, I mean, that compounds it as you go through the race, obviously,
- 9:12if you're doing 60, 70, 80 laps.
- 9:14You know, it happens everything, so it's gonna grow, grow, grow, grow, obviously
- 9:17it just keeps building itself up.
- 9:19And, it's um, you know, foregone conclusion in regards to that, so.
- 9:24But anyways, the new cars, and have it coming out, they obviously are going
- 9:30back to the ground effects design.
- 9:32So, they are trying to eliminate, well I don't say eliminate, but their biggest
- 9:37thing, because you're always going to have the air flow going over the car.
- 9:39And, it's always going to be a situation where whoever's following is going
- 9:43to have some dirty air, so to speak.
- 9:46But what they're trying to do is Maintain that air.
- 9:51So it's more, I want to say structured.
- 9:53So it's more, it flows better.
- 9:55So if you look at some of the things on it, like on the previous cars, as the
- 9:58air got back over the rear wing, it was so turbulent because you had air coming
- 10:01over from the sides underneath, go around.
- 10:03So it just created this, almost this whirlwind, um, I want to say tornado,
- 10:07but just this really disturbed unstructured air that really was
- 10:10very volatile to the car behind it.
- 10:12So these new cars, as that air goes over it.
- 10:15And goes past the car.
- 10:17It's a lot more flowed.
- 10:19So where it actually should come down onto the car following it.
- 10:23So what that's going to do is keep the car having downforce and be
- 10:26able to follow the car closer.
- 10:28Hopefully, that it won't really damage tires and what have you.
- 10:32It'll be able to have a little more, I would say, wheel to wheel action to
- 10:35be able to pass more and not trying to a planet where you're going to have
- 10:38to pass with DRS, you know, this is stuff we'll be able to actually pass
- 10:41in corners and everything like that.
- 10:42So, um, it's going to be interesting.
- 10:45I'm really excited.
- 10:45Um, I think, what, in about another, uh, 8, 9 days, 10 days, you know,
- 10:50they're going to have their first test.
- 10:51I believe it's, it's going to be, I don't know if it's in Abu Dhabi again or
- 10:54if they went back, going back to Spain.
- 10:56It's one of the two.
- 10:56I can't remember.
- 10:57I know they keep switching it up.
- 10:58So, it's going to be great to see.
- 11:01All these cars on track and just see the times, whatnot, and how
- 11:04the cars, the drivers react to us.
- 11:06Now, I know these guys, you know, do it's ton, ton, a ton simulation,
- 11:10um, SIM driving, but there's nothing like being in the actual
- 11:15car and seat of the pants driving.
- 11:17You know, that's, that's one of the things is someone that's a good driver.
- 11:19They just like, they can feel everything through their ass, you know?
- 11:22So it's, you know, just the sensations of feelings, everything like that.
- 11:25They're just the nuances.
- 11:26Yeah.
- 11:26I mean, I know these.
- 11:27new simulators are unbelievable.
- 11:29I mean, they're crazy expensive and they can really get in with the G's
- 11:32and whatnot and how those things work and really give you that sensation.
- 11:35But there's nothing like being in an actual car driving.
- 11:38Now I've, I heard a couple of cars right now.
- 11:40I heard, you know, the alpha run and they got a Ferrari
- 11:42engine and wow, it sounded good.
- 11:44It sounded really good.
- 11:45So I'm curious to see when they get these on track.
- 11:48I know a couple of other manufacturers that dropped their cars, you know,
- 11:51done a little shakedown stuff.
- 11:53So, you know, I can't remember what the FIA allows them to do for the shakedown.
- 11:58It's not a lot.
- 11:58So it's not like they're just banging out laps, you know, starting to
- 12:01do research on this and testing.
- 12:03It's more of just, hey, is everything working?
- 12:06Is everything where it needs to be?
- 12:07Is this how it is?
- 12:08You know, it's not like really getting the feel of it and set up for the car.
- 12:12The big thing now how much you're a racing person whatnot But when you
- 12:16go racing and you race at a track you take notes You have your suspension
- 12:19settings tire pressures everything camber adjustment all the toe toe in toe out
- 12:24the whole nine yards You you write all that down How it was set up, especially
- 12:28if you did good, you know, because what happens when you come back to that
- 12:31track again, you reference those notes.
- 12:34Now, are they going to be working that next time?
- 12:36No, but it's a starting point for when you're at the same
- 12:39track you were at before.
- 12:40So it gives you something to work from.
- 12:42And it was, you know, and especially if it was successful, you know,
- 12:45that's what you want to have.
- 12:47So it's, it's a great tool to utilize, but so what do they do now?
- 12:51I know computers can run the simulations or anything like that to try and get
- 12:56where it needs to be in the whole nine yards, but again, it's, you can't take
- 12:59into account track conditions, what the asphalt, what the, you know, surface is
- 13:04doing, you know, and everything, you know.
- 13:07Because another fact is, you know, they're going to these 18 inch rims now.
- 13:09They were what, four, 13s, 14s before.
- 13:13Really quite remember.
- 13:14Uh, I know it was like 13 to 14 inch diameter on the rim.
- 13:17So, and they had huge sidewalls on these cars.
- 13:20So in the sidewall and obviously biggest sidewall, they make, you know, they're
- 13:23stiff to an extent, but gave quite a bit.
- 13:26So you had that roll in the corners of that.
- 13:28So I am.
- 13:29It gives it that weird feeling, and I said again, I don't know if you've
- 13:31ever driven a race car, but I have, and you know, it's just a weird sensation.
- 13:36So when going to these 18 inches, obviously it reduces the sidewall, and
- 13:39what happens is, to make these tires last, that sidewall is a lot stiffer.
- 13:43So these tires are going to be completely different than
- 13:46what they're used to running.
- 13:48Now I know the Formula E guys, you know, they've been running, you know,
- 13:51these rims for, ever since they started.
- 13:53So, um, it's an interesting look, I'll give you that, but what, you know,
- 13:56they're doing this year for the F1 cars, Is they, um, you know, have those wheel
- 14:04discs, uh, inside it that kind of is, is more, I don't know, makes it more solid.
- 14:11Um, it's, um,
- 14:17yeah, I don't know.
- 14:18I mean, it looks good.
- 14:19I mean, I like it.
- 14:20So, um, It's just, it's a totally different look.
- 14:24And I love the fact is because it still looks like a Formula F1 car.
- 14:27They didn't go nuts with it.
- 14:29I mean, I don't know about you, you know, watch any car.
- 14:31I'm not a fan of that.
- 14:32Um, Lexan shield that they're using.
- 14:35Is it, I mean, so it makes it almost basically an enclosed cockpit.
- 14:38Um, just, I don't know.
- 14:40Somebody looks at, you know, I wasn't a fan when the halo came out.
- 14:42Um, but it's grown on me because and after that, I guess, especially
- 14:46after seeing, uh, what IndyCar did, I even hate the halo is not bad and
- 14:51actually, and it's proven to work.
- 14:53I mean, you just look at last year with Max, uh, and going in and with Hamilton
- 14:57and him going up over his car and his tire ended up on Hamilton's head.
- 15:01So it's proven it works.
- 15:04So it's something that's, you know, obviously it's here to stay.
- 15:07It didn't go anywhere, but I just like the look of it.
- 15:10Now, and they've incorporated well into the car, so it's not very intrusive
- 15:14to the look and the flow of the car.
- 15:16But anyways, getting back to the Ferrari F1 car for 2022.
- 15:20Now they came out, you know, it's interesting because they, I think the
- 15:23red is, you know, it's like a little more, I would say a bloodish red.
- 15:26It's a little bit darker hue than previous reds.
- 15:30And, but what's cool, I like, is they went with the black wings and
- 15:33there's like a black accents to it.
- 15:35I really dig that.
- 15:36I like that look.
- 15:37Get that note.
- 15:38They've had to kind of walk away from Marlboro and that Mission Win Now stuff
- 15:44is it's gone and You know, we just I Don't know if it was more all sudden
- 15:51They just really cracked down and said look this isn't working because we get
- 15:54people know what this is and I mean like that still basically advertising,
- 15:58you know tobacco So that's completely gone, but they brought on a few other
- 16:03major sponsors, you know, to help.
- 16:05And what, you know, as you probably know, if you're an F1 person, is the
- 16:09fact is, you know, there's a cost caps, uh, going, playing into this season.
- 16:14So they only have the 140 million, 145 million, I think it is, for this season.
- 16:18Then it reduces next year and then a year after that down to 125 or
- 16:22something like that, a million.
- 16:22Um, so.
- 16:26Keeping the capital or so it's like, that's why, you know, far as getting
- 16:29into, uh, the endurance racing, because they have this extra money to go
- 16:34racing because it would have just went into that one program, but so they're
- 16:36going to put sweats, which is awesome.
- 16:38It's going to be great to see Ferrari back at Lamar.
- 16:40Um, I can't wait to have that.
- 16:42I mean, there's going to be in 2023, they should all be showing up.
- 16:45I believe it is Porsche's coming back.
- 16:47Ferrari is going to be there.
- 16:48You know, there's a few other manufacturers getting
- 16:50back and involved in it.
- 16:52Um, so I, I'm super excited for that.
- 16:54So I'm, I'm trying to do is get over there for that race next year,
- 16:582023, to see that and be part of it.
- 17:01So hopefully fingers crossed pandemic.
- 17:03Hopefully it's way over by then that I can get over there.
- 17:06So, but back to the F1 car now.
- 17:09Design elements wise, you know, the whole new front wing is completely different.
- 17:13You know, they only had allowed to have those four elements up to four elements.
- 17:17I should say, cause some other teams aren't actually, you know, for the
- 17:19O's and using three elements on that front wing Ferrari's going all out and
- 17:22using four now, the other interesting aspect of it is the width of that wing.
- 17:27Now it goes basically from the outside of the front wheels to each end.
- 17:33So it's, it's the width of the car.
- 17:35And, but there's no more of those ridiculous, like, turning vanes and
- 17:39all that other crap that was, you know, on these, you know, most recent cars.
- 17:42I mean Any little thing, it was just baffling, I
- 17:46baffling, I get the gist of it.
- 17:48Because, you know, for airflow, when they're trying to do what they can,
- 17:50they're trying to get the car and the air to go around the wheels and
- 17:53into certain spots, blah, blah, blah.
- 17:55And all that stuff, but, I mean, it just made the cars look hideous.
- 17:57I mean, I don't know if you ever watched any of this stuff back in the day, in
- 18:01the 50's, 60's, when they had no wings.
- 18:03I mean, that was awesome.
- 18:04I mean, I know we'll never go back to that, but.
- 18:06You know, hey, it was all basically just mechanical grip from the suspension
- 18:10and that and the tires and the driver.
- 18:12So now you got all this other aero aid stuff.
- 18:14I got that in there too.
- 18:15So, but then kind of moving back on the car, you know, it's you know, the side
- 18:19pods are all totally different shape.
- 18:21Um, and the way this flow around, it's kind of interesting too, because
- 18:24as you look at it from the side, No side putts, you got your wall in
- 18:27there, but as it goes up and over and around back to the cockpit, it drops
- 18:31back down and curves over the car.
- 18:32So the way they got the air flow coming around that and
- 18:34going through it is pretty cool.
- 18:36I mean, the car looks phenomenal.
- 18:38Another aspect I really, really dig is the rear wing.
- 18:41Now on this thing, they have it, you know, it's pretty, you know, style wise, you
- 18:46know, they have It's tucked in basically the width, the inside width of the rear
- 18:52tire, maybe just a smidge outside it.
- 18:54But again, it's not anything crazy.
- 18:56It's not some big obtrusive and they got all these different
- 18:58elements and everything on it.
- 19:00It's very simplified and you know, it looks gorgeous.
- 19:04I think, cause it's just, it's not obnoxious, you know, cause they're
- 19:07basically trying to do is to get all the ground effects underneath the
- 19:12car to basically do a majority of.
- 19:16The downforce.
- 19:17So to suck it down to the road.
- 19:19So their goal is to have that be the major factor in keeping these
- 19:24cars and giving them, you know, the downforce that they require and need
- 19:28to be able to go around the corners and that stuff as fast as they do.
- 19:31And, you know, like the parabolic and all that stuff, you know, we clip it
- 19:34along at 180, 190 miles an hour going around this bend, you know, the car's
- 19:37got to be able to suck to the ground.
- 19:38So again, I'm super excited.
- 19:42To see where this heads and how these cars run on the road.
- 19:45So we got, you know, the first one test of the season coming up, uh,
- 19:49in, you know, a little over a week.
- 19:51So.
- 19:53I tell you what, I think it's just going to be an awesome season, you
- 19:56know, and we're going to see who gets it right and who gets it wrong again,
- 19:59because this is completely new, totally redesigned cars, and it's going to
- 20:04be interesting to see what happens.
- 20:05You know, some are going to get it right.
- 20:06Some are going to get it wrong.
- 20:07Some are going to be kind of familiar, but you know, the hope is, I think the
- 20:10midfield cars, I think it's really going to kind of bunch them up some more.
- 20:14So I think there's going to be a ton of great wheel to wheel
- 20:16racing in the midfield cars.
- 20:19I hope Haas kind of, Gets their shit back together.
- 20:21Supposedly and, you know, conversations because their standards had, you know,
- 20:25that, you know, the, cause they didn't put any development into the 2021 car.
- 20:31They just maybe a couple of little bits here and there, but everything.
- 20:35Was full hog going towards the 2022 car.
- 20:38So now, as you, if you know, is when they came out in, when they launched,
- 20:42when their initial year, they came out, they actually were doing good.
- 20:45You know, they were, you know, pretty, pretty competitive.
- 20:48Um, but as the year went on, they obviously, they couldn't keep up with the
- 20:53changes of the car and updates to the car.
- 20:54They just, I don't know, was internal, whatnot, because they don't really
- 20:58have so much manufacturing on car.
- 21:00It's manufactured out there for the facility by someone else.
- 21:04I don't know if you're familiar with how they circumvented the rules, but
- 21:06hey, they're allowing them to do it.
- 21:08You know, because in Formula One, you had to build everything, you
- 21:10had to build your own chassis.
- 21:12And you can get the car from, you know, the engine from someone else,
- 21:14but you had to build your own chassis.
- 21:16But, you know, they went a different route and had an
- 21:18outside entity build it for them.
- 21:20And so, I don't know how much that plays during, throughout the season,
- 21:23how much they help with aerodynamics and, you know, updates to the car, but.
- 21:27Again, hopefully, you know, uh, Haas can kind of pick up the game
- 21:30because they're powered by Ferrari.
- 21:32You know, they're kind of, I don't know how much they are, kind of, you
- 21:34really didn't hear much about it.
- 21:35When they first came out, you heard quite a bit of how Haas was the,
- 21:39you know, Ferrari support team, so to speak, and doing stuff and that,
- 21:42but, you know, they were doing good, so you just didn't really hear much.
- 21:45But as far as I know, they still have that collaboration with Ferrari regarding
- 21:50certain aspects of the car, because they get the engine, the gearbox, and
- 21:53I think some other things from Ferrari.
- 21:54I think the brakes.
- 21:55Um, what, you know, the maximum stuff that they're allowed, that they can Source
- 22:00from another manufacturer, uh, that they don't have to design and build themselves.
- 22:05So, I mean, that, that's a big cost savings.
- 22:07You know, and again, kind of going back to budgets and whatnot.
- 22:09Now, Haas wasn't even, I don't even think they had a budget of, you
- 22:12know, close to 140, 150 million.
- 22:14You know, even the previous, I think they were doing between 80 to a hundred.
- 22:17So, I mean, this, uh, budget cap's gonna be great.
- 22:19Now, who knows?
- 22:20And they might be able to bring in more sponsors, so we shall see,
- 22:23you know, uh, a little side note.
- 22:26I don't know if anyone's following it, is Old Rich Energy is supposed
- 22:29to be coming back into F1.
- 22:30They keep teasing stuff like that and they're getting made fun of.
- 22:33So I don't know what team would be willing to jump on board with
- 22:38them as a sponsor after what happened with Haas the other season.
- 22:41I mean, that was just a debacle.
- 22:43So it'll be interesting to see.
- 22:45That William Story guy that's running that supposedly owner and what not.
- 22:49I mean, he's got money coming from somewhere and what not.
- 22:51Who knows?
- 22:52God only knows.
- 22:53So I don't know what it'll be.
- 22:54So I'm kind of curious to see.
- 22:56If they're actually going to be a sponsor on one of the cars, you know, they showed
- 23:00pictures But hey, you can get an old f1 car and have someone give you you
- 23:03know Current whatever doll it all up with stickers and everything like that.
- 23:07So I don't so we shall see so but um Again, hopefully, you know Charles
- 23:13and Carlos will get themselves back up to the front and be battling
- 23:16Mercedes and Red Bull We also have that three way battle going.
- 23:20I Alpine might be up there too.
- 23:21I mean, hey, you never know Like I said, it's going to be interesting to
- 23:24see What comes about for this season because everyone started from scratch.
- 23:28Everyone's got all new cars, all new design.
- 23:31So we shall see where this heads.
- 23:33I'm super excited for the season to start.
- 23:36Um, and it's going to be gangbusters, I think.
- 23:39You know, it's lots of development is a rubles.
- 23:42You made the comment that, you know, the car, they start the season out and
- 23:45two races in every race is going to be the car is going to be different
- 23:49to like a major extent because it's updates, you know, everything that
- 23:52because they're getting all the feedback.
- 23:54They're getting all, you know, everything they're taking from the
- 23:56car and what they're learning and getting asked because again, you
- 24:00can do all the same stuff you want.
- 24:02But until that car is out on the track and hey, you're putting wheels to the ground
- 24:05hitting the pavement, you know, you won't.
- 24:07You won't really have the perfect idea of how this thing is going to run.
- 24:10So, but, so fingers crossed are back up front where they belong.
- 24:14Uh, bring back to the glory.
- 24:16Hey, especially it's a 75th anniversary of Ferrari for this season.
- 24:19Um, and Hey, and I'm, I'm the day I'm taping.
- 24:22This is actually Enzo's birthday.
- 24:23So, um, I don't know when you might end up listening to this, but
- 24:27Hey, it is Enzo's birthday today.
- 24:28Uh, was this February 18th.
- 24:30So, just a little more information for you, a little tidbit for that, so.
- 24:35But anyways, I'm going to wrap this up.
- 24:37I appreciate you listening and I think, you know, I'm trying to put
- 24:41together thoughts for the next car.
- 24:42I think I might talk about the new 296 that's coming out on the next episode.
- 24:46I'm really excited about that car and I'm looking forward to
- 24:48have the opportunity to drive it.
- 24:50I'm going out to California.
- 24:51Next week.
- 24:52And I think I might have the opportunity to take it for a spin and see.
- 24:55So it's been the spiritual successor to the Dino.
- 24:58So we shall see.
- 24:59So, Hey, again, I really appreciate y'all listening.
- 25:01Uh, Hey, and remember four is a Ferrari.
