- JB: Welcome back to Sports Talk with J B inside the barbershop. And today is Wednesday night, so you already know what that means. It's barbershop after hours. Tonight we got guests in the house, we got D, D D. DeeDee: What do do? JB: All right. That is Mr. Controversial. DeeDee: you Troy: Woooo JB: So tonight we got Mr. Troy, A.K. Mr. Controversial and D D in the House. All right. But tonight we'll be talking about the NFL, NBA, some music, some of the culture that's going on in our in our with hip hop and also some real conversations. So audience, if you have any you want to join in and pop up as a guest, we Go ahead and feel free to join us and also leave your comments and everything in a in a thing. But before we start, I wanna go ahead and get the sponsor out of the way. Give us one second. DeeDee: So So JB: Again, if you're out in that D FW and you need your locks, haircut, beard trimmed and everything, hit up China on the QR code or give a call. All right, fellas, let's go ahead and get into this. All right, so we're gonna start off talking about the Forty Niners. After what we seen, after we've seen from the Forty Niners through the first four weeks, what has been the biggest sprint and what do they need to do to keep it going? Let's start with you, D D. DeeDee: And the coaches discipline of the team itself and the offense like Before they were giving Christian McCaffrey 30 targets, you know what saying? He's getting the ball 90 % of the time. What Brock is doing to elevate the team now, he's passing the ball to everybody, nobody that make him, nobody is with names, you know what I'm saying? So that's what I would say would be the biggest strength now. I mean, Brock, he's balling right now. He's an MVP candidate for a reason. And the only thing I would say to keep the trend going is, is the help, man. The team just got to stay healthy for some reason. The Niners can't stay healthy. They need to go and investigate the training camp or something. JB: Yeah. DeeDee: Y'all got all this money, y'all need to hire somebody. I don't know who to do with it. JB: Exactly. That's what we talked about yesterday. Niggas gotta s gotta stay healthy. That's the main thing. For him to be preferred to be working with I guess I wanna say his biggest target is is Debo. Evans he's not nowhere near a hundred percent, he'd probably be a couple of weeks before he can you know, ribs not nothing that's gonna kill overnight. So DeeDee: Yeah, and last week, he went with four targets, 57 yards, no, 75 yards. JB: Yeah. And you can tell that every catch heard it. It took a while DeeDee: YIK JB: to get off the ground and everything. What you think, Troy? What's your thoughts? Troy: well he needs to sit down then. But if you know the ribs but for real though, the ribs ain't nothing to play with. You know, and you catching the ball, somebody hit you there like bruh, that's you know, it's gonna take continuum weeks to to feel better. So I think he just needs to go sit down for a couple of weeks. So you know, so you can get healthy. JB: Yeah, but you know that NFL and them sports they got too much pressure on them to play ball. And I'm pretty sure he's taking some kind of shots and pain pill painkillers to get through them games, but man, he d to say that he I give him probably fifty to sixty percent and like Didi said just now, he had seventy five seventy five yards on four four or five catches. Imagine if I'm not even a big fan of him 'cause you know he used to DeeDee: So. JB: be our robbery in Tampa, but I gotta respect his game. But man, imagine if he can be a hundred percent and we get a couple of more them weapons to come back. Troy: yeah, most definitely. He he he good. DeeDee: yeah, let's show. JB: Right. I know Didi mentioned a little while ago. So is from the from what y'all seeing right now is Brock Brock Brock Furley what where y'all see him at in the V Poting right now? Top I say Troy: It's too early for all that, man. I don't DeeDee: It works. Troy: believe in that. There it's only week five. You got you got some more plan to do before JB: you sometimes you can tell. I know we always say wait till we five, but you you can tell who who balling who's doing this and that. Like like we know Tampa ain't going nowhere. I'm I'm you can go ahead and say and four. It might be and five after this weekend. So some teams DeeDee: yeah. JB: I think you can tell, but he's I'm trying to I guess trying to say is the way he's playing like an V P candidate. And you got some p other people that's playing some good ball too, from from Walker to Gibbs to doggone B J B B. John Robinson. Troy: Yeah. JB: That's what I'm saying. You can tell some players who separate themselves right now, even though it's four games from other other people. But again, anything can happen, like you said, I I understand that. But we'll know by week five or six. Troy: Yeah, most of JB: I guess B you got an answer for that one? He's he's he's playing at least the top I'm gonna say well top five players in the league right now. DeeDee: QB. Top five QBs. So QB plays been kind of iffy up and down this year with injuries and stuff. But I get like no in no order first, second, third. But I get Brock Mahomes is playing at a lead level. Who's been consistent. I would say Trevor Lawrence, but he got dog pounded by the Broncos. But the Broncos have been making every quarterback number look. Look bad. Dag been playing good. You gotta give Dag his credit. was? Who has been bothering? Quarterback. Our quarterback, why? It's been a little iffy. Lamar got hurt before he got hurt. He was doing all right. But hey, I ain't gonna lie. Bryce. Bryce, you know what? You give Bryce some respect too though. Bryce been JB: yeah. DeeDee: playing. JB: Yeah, Bryce have been balling. I I I think like I said yesterday, I believe he leading the lead in what yards and Troy: Yeah, definitely. JB: everything. So yeah, he he's playing some ball, man. in Can Carolina. Look like DeeDee: Yes. JB: Yeah, they they rolling should even give shots out to Atlanta. If I know we thought yesterday if if if Michael Jr. can continue to play like he's playing, just do enough not to turn the ball over. DeeDee: Michael Pennix, yo. JB: Yeah, that NFC South gonna be hopefully be a a good a a race to the top, I'm gonna say that. DeeDee: Yeah. JB: That's not on that one. All right, let's go on to I thought what's we're gonna be on today too. All right, let's go to the Cowboys, man. Let's talk about them a little at anything else you wanna talk about We playing against Seattle this week. DeeDee: yeah. No. JB: So what you think we need to do to to win that game what we need to win that game? I'm gonna say that. DeeDee: No penalties, play consistent football. You know it's gonna be a dog fight. It's gonna kinda be like the Denver game. One big play gonna change everything, cuz for one, it's a conference game. It's a divisional game. That's always a dog fight, even when we play the Cardinals. People don't look up on the Cardinals. You know what saying? Divisional games, nobody knows you better than the teams in your division. So it's gonna be a dog fight for sure, but not turning the ball over and just being consistent, taking points where you can get points. Not being scared to make, you know what I'm go for it on fours. Like, Kyle Shanahan, sometimes he a little iffy when he play good defenses. And who was their coach? Mike McDaniels? He came from Seattle. I mean, no, he came from, he came Troy: Miami. DeeDee: from, he was Ravens' He got his number on Kyle, but we broke even last year and then they beat us in the playoffs. So we just got to take the season. It's going to be a revenge game because they, they dog-wasted us. The dog walk was in the playoff. We didn't have all the players, but we got a good majority of our players. We got Greenlaw back, Debo making his presence felt. He's feeling some type of way since he didn't get signed in free agency. He don't work that weight off of them. He looking like 2020 Debo, 2019 Debo, all pro Debo. So we'll see. JB: Yeah, I said that's and I said that dude on the mission, he's playing some some real good ball, especially with that weight loss running him DeeDee: Good. JB: running like that in a long time. DeeDee: He scored every game we played this year, JB: So what you think, Joe, what who well actually who you have for that game, Seattle or Forty Niners? Troy: man, I I might go with Seattle. DeeDee: He's staring at a pie! Troy: Might go with Seattle. I'm about to tell you, they don't look bad though. You know, Seattle, you know, they got a good offense, good defense, so you just gotta hopefully it's a good game. JB: Are they still playing with a backup quarterback? Did he back? DeeDee: Nah, I'm back. Troy: I I think it brought a came back. JB: Yeah, you gotta gotta you gotta re I ain't gonna lie, you gotta respect the Super Bowl champs. But yeah, it I think it'll be a good game. It's always a good divisional game. But happen. DeeDee: They let the commanders get them, I feel like we can get them. You know what I'm saying? They let the commander with a backup Marcus Mariota get them, so we'll see. It's gonna be a game. As soon as Donald starts turning the ball over like he's known to do, we gonna get him. JB: Yeah, I'm like I said I'm hoping so, man. We get that one. So let's go into this these Cowboys, man. Dallas is two and two, playing 0-4 Tampa Bay. What would a loss to Tampa Bay tell about the who the Cowboys really are this season? Don't you? Troy: gonna tell that they ain't that good. Like what people think. For me it you know, if you lose to Tampa, they don't have their starting quarterback. Like, come on, like that's you trash. JB: So you think so what you what you think Tampa well Dallas need to do to to win that game? Troy: Man, play their bo play their game. That's all. JB: I would say that defense 'cause that defense still questionable to me. Especially that second DeeDee: Thanks. JB: Who's A D? DeeDee: I said they got a sore lot. I play fantasy football. Any receiver that play that team going 20 points up, you know what I'm saying? That defense, I thought that was going to be the, you know, they invested a lot into their defense this year. So I thought it would change, but I guess Michael made that much of a difference to their defense. They ain't looking for Troy: But but did DeeDee: defense. Troy: but people talking about that they don't really miss Michael Parsons, man, he was the he was the he was the anchor to that defense. And then the fact DeeDee: it works. Troy: that they got Von Miller, I ain't hear Von Miller name yet. JB: Once, not once. DeeDee: I want, buddy. Troy: Like I guess I guess it's 'cause is that you know, he's up in age now so he ain't really but his presence ain't ain't been felt yet. So you nobody really talking about him. He just he just a body. JB: I actually forgot 'til you brought it up. I know he signed with I forgot he played for him. So what y'all think about Joey Porter Jr. You think he gonna make a a big difference on the other side? Troy: we'll see. We'll see. Time will tell what this past Sunday was his first game, so it we'll see how he you know what I'm saying, mess with the players. JB: I know none of us cowboy fans, but who y'all ready to see on them on as those corners? You rather see was Downs in in Porter or Porter and Bell. what's cornerback rotation y'all think worked best? Troy: Man, you gotta p you win go get you win trade for Porter, so he gotta be out there. He gotta be on one side. I don't know I don't know about the I don't you know I don't follow the cowboys DeeDee: Thank you. JB: I know I'm saying what combination you think the right Troy: like that. So Porter gotta be on no man, that dude nah. JB: Thought you was a fan of the thirteen Troy: The JB: smooth when smooth proved it to us. DeeDee: They need to win the game. Let that get the shotgun and push the CD-LAM button the whole game. Just like they did last week. Yeah, 17 targets. mean, that's a- Troy: But I guarantee that's not gonna happen this week. DeeDee: I know he gotta be sore. Troy: No, but I'm just saying it ain't gonna happen this week because Seattle ain't gonna play that. JB: I mean I you only paying temple. DeeDee: Yeah, that might have been. Troy: Or Tampa. I don't think Tampa gonna do that. Allow that happen. DeeDee: Not after watching that. They gotta have some kind of plan to stop them. Stop the Run Game, stop CD, that's it. JB: Yeah, I don't think Pickens was happy about that. He he might take the win, but three catches I think he only had three catches that game. DeeDee: Yo, he big catching, but true. JB: You know them them them them receivers are diva, so he looking at and this dude had fourteen catches more than me. Troy: But but my whole thing is about that why you was forcing the I feel like they was forcing the ball of C D. You know? 'Cause DeeDee: I will. Troy: you know C D, you know, he he a you know, he he'll start crying. If he if they it was the other way around. But you know, I just don't understand why they was forcing them the ball like that. JB: So so you think Troy, they had the number two c the back on C D you think Stanley should have been on him before the whole show? I mean the whole the whole Troy: Without a doubt. Without a doubt. If you if you pull to be the dog, the dog's pull to go find that number one receiver. And then especially when he was doing what he was doing, by the ten catch, man, I'm like, coach, I got him. And then my thing is with that, why you ain't have a man on top? Even if if even if y'all just stood on one side, why the safety wasn't on top? DeeDee: So. Yeah, the Niko Ryan JB: Does it? DeeDee: is no better than that. He come from the 49ers too, defensive coordinator. So I don't know, Houston defense look iffy. Will Anderson, like the only one putting in work. I mean, that D-line good, but they defense ain't looking too good this year. JB: I wanna see I thought that would have been the the the game that would have put Texans in at least 'cause you know, at least going forward, at least doing something 'cause they're being on but they're on four two, right? Yeah, they I th Yeah, Troy: Yeah, the LM4. But they started off well though. JB: exactly. DeeDee: Now it's his leg. Troy: But that's the part I'm about to tell you, but that's just like the Saints, how they be doing. Like, you know, Saints might start off slow, but in the second half they pick it up. I you know, but I don't understand what the Texans do started off well. But then after third quarter, you just was like, okay, we're just gonna coast through. And I I don't know if that's the play calling or what, but I don't know, it's like they couldn't move the ball. And every time you look Dallas was getting that thing driving. DeeDee: Yeah. Okay. JB: What let's move on to to the other c teams in that conference. What's your thoughts of how far y'all think New York gonna get since they're leading the the div the division with Jameis Weston that quarterback? You think it's gonna be a a up and down season or you think they're gonna continue to put that foot on no gas? Go with start with you, D D. DeeDee: Nah, think that little fairy tale is gonna end. They traded for Jackson, I ain't even looked at their schedule, but I don't think they gonna. Instead of, you know what I'm I still, they gotta make me a believer. They beat Dallas. That's a division game though. That's a coin flip. But I gotta, I gotta watch more football. Like Troy said, it's still early in the season, man. JB: It just the top Troy: My thing is what my thing is with the Giants, it all depends on what what would James do. If I think if he play well these next couple of weeks, your boy who they went trading for, he gonna sit on a bench. Long as James is doing what he gotta do, he gonna play. But the moment he messes up, he out. JB: So the next few games that's coming up, they have let's see, Washington, Saints, Houston, Philly, and Washington and Jag Jacksonville. So they they got some winnable games in there to I'll see. DeeDee: Thank Troy: I think the hardest game is I'ma say Philly and the Singh. That might be the hardest two games they got. DeeDee: Awesome. JB: But divisional games are kinda iffy too. You never know what those divisional games Troy: Yeah, definitely but my thing is the reason why I say we're Washington is because who who's gonna be Washington quarterback? DeeDee: Y'all know, cuz I reckon it's... JB: Well you know it's Troy: So So that's why I say that. So if James play well, you know, he gon' st he's gonna stay playing. JB: Yeah, I'm I'm I'm pulling for I'm pulling for James and hoping he can he can do his thing. Troy: And and JB: But that went. Troy: Philly, Philly gotta, you know, they gotta do something. Ever since your boy left become the Saints head coach, I feel like the offense ain't running the way it was. And then I believe like the coach, you know, Kellen Moore, I I don't think he's a head coach. No, not everybody could be a head coach. DeeDee: Yeah. JB: Yeah. Troy: So I I you know, once he left, I think that was kinda like like that was kinda it. You know, they had a a coordinator last year, they didn't really do the best. And then, you know, this year, you know, they DeeDee: . Troy: got an another coordinator, so then they keep on doing different coordinators and then they you know, so it's not really working right now. JB: I I don't know. I'm and Eagles just drive me crazy. 'cause you I don't know what what's going on with Hers Hurst and everything. 'Cause I wanna say they had the same team last year, but they struggled with Brown DeeDee: So. JB: They had the same offense last year. And they just couldn't move it. I don't know if it's a mind thing with her s or like you say Troy, they got too many doggone different quarter I mean, call offensive coordinators. DeeDee: Okay. Troy: But my thing is like with with that with with AJ Brown and Hurst, I just think AJ Brown wanted the ball too. You know, he was always wanted the ball and if he didn't get it, he would he was getting upset. Like, man, come on, bro. Like you know that's not how the game goes. You might be hot this week, this person's gonna be hot next week. You know, so you you know, he wanted the man to force him the ball, but if he forced him the ball and something happened, who you gonna blame it on? You're gonna blame him on the quarterback. Not him. So And look look where he had in New England on the sideline. DeeDee: All right. JB: Earth. All right. And we got let's talk about New England playing against Troy: The bills. JB: Bills. So I know new I know New England won last week. I put at two and two and Bills had their first loss. What what what y'all expecting who y'all got to win that game and between the Bills and New England game. What what what player need to step up to DeeDee: There. JB: to win that game? 'Cause you know the what's McCallum can be Josh Allen, he playing ball. Drake, he's up and down. I think he finally had a a a good what a good two games in the I think. What what you got on that one, D D? Troy: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DeeDee: They are they played already Josh Allen was turning the ball over That's what he First two games he played was real good and then the game again ever since the game with the Chargers He had five turnovers a game They out the bills play good every September, September champs, know, and then throughout the season, they kind of be like the stock market up and down, up and down, up and down. But, you know, Joshua Hill of a quarterback, he just got to turn turnovers down. And their head coach is now the offensive coordinator, is their old offensive coordinator. And now he just letting Josh run wild, you know, they're taking the leash off of him. He pretty much running and playing backyard football every game. So some games he'll have. three Russian touchdowns, three passing touchdowns, I'm the child's going down. They need to cook the ball more. That's what I'm... JB: Actually, my bad fellas, because it New England's playing the Raiders. That's that's the question I had. DeeDee: Yeah. JB: My bad. I know Raiders lost last week. Everybody was saying it might be a flu, might not. What what do they need to do to continue the day day streak to get back on that that winning streak? Troy: Man, do what they was doing in the first two first couple of weeks. It was JB: I am D. Troy: just they I don't know just last week, bro. They it just at the after a halftime, that was it. They started playing down because they was doing well in the beginning, but towards that end, it's like I don't know if the the play calling changed or what. I don't understand why people do that, man. Keep your foot on the neck, on your on your neck. DeeDee: Yeah. Can't Troy: You know, and try to dominate the teams but it seemed like they'd just be like, right, we got the game and when they look back, boom, they lose. So DeeDee: sleep at home, You can't get him no cushion. You gotta beat him wide down. Troy: Definitely. JB: I I think Cousins need to need to have a bad game last week. Like it's like DeeDee: So I didn't bring proof. JB: it's the running game that's that's that's not helping them out at all. I I don't think they averaging eight a hundred yards total as a team. I think they they running game need to help them out real and 'cause the tight end can do so much, receivers can do so much in the quarterback, but their running game, they they gotta get a running game. Troy: Yeah, I'm about JB: All that money on that rookie me to DeeDee: What does that show? Troy: Yeah, that that dude, he I don't know, he ain't like what they thought he was gonna be. What he did DeeDee: Ask some Genties. Troy: in college what he did in college, he's definitely not doing in the league. You know, every now and then he might do something where you'd be like, Okay, I see a flash, but he ain't really doing too much. JB: Right, let's talk that's that's five let's jump over to a different topic. when it comes to black black and white black DeeDee: Okay. JB: and white quarterbacks make similar mistakes, do we do they why they not judge the same? 'Cause I'm I'm I'm pretty sure y'all know what I'm going at with this one. It seemed like like with hers, when he he get he get shitted on so much. It can be him, it can be from DeeDee: So. JB: the Watson to DeeDee: Okay. JB: Pretty much any African American quarterback, but you you don't hear too many people talk about the type of season that Justin Hervin having. when Dre Mel when Dre w they had Drake as the one of the top three quarterbacks at the start, but you barely hear him getting that same criticism as as those African American quarterbacks. Why y'all think i is l it is like that for for them? Troy: You you said it in the beginning, black and white. And that's gonna always be the thing. They don't really want too many brothers doing that. So, you know, when they get a a white one in the position, they gonna be like, he d he this and he that, but they don't be putting out the numbers like that's like Trevor Lawrence. JB: Yeah. Troy: He ain't re he ain't paying out what he was supposed to be when he first came in. So, you know, but Jackson they they still riding with him. Justin Herbert, you know, a lot of these white boys, they They don't be paying out to what they be thinking, but they still but us, they're gonna always gos have something to say. They talk about Lamar Jackson all the time. he ain't no pocket quarterback. But when he stands up, why he not running? You know, so it's always gonna be something. JB: So Tosdy. DeeDee: I feel like it's that and it depends on what team you on. mean, Cam Wool was the first round draft pick. First round draft pick, number one pick. I mean, I don't really hear much about him because I guess it's the Titans. But like Troy said, it's always going to be something about our people. So I mean, it is what it is. We just got to stand out. You know what I'm Hope it come out. JB: You think you think that was the situation in Cleveland with with Shador at the beginning of last year? Troy: Without a DeeDee: All right. Troy: doubt. Man, listen, Kevin Stefansky, I don't believe in he like brothers like that. You know what I'm saying especially as a as his quarterback. Like when he had Bega Mayfield, when he had the white boys really his quarterback, he wasn't acting like that, but the minute Shador got that what happened? Like how are you are your your draft pick, you don't talk nothing about Shadow. You don't when you s when you was DeeDee: . Troy: talking you'll see or him or you JB: Yeah. Troy: would never see his name. Again, JB: That was disrespectful. Troy: with the the moment like in in Atlanta right now, they talk about when to come back, but you call it might lose his spot. Why is that? Especially if he's playing well, why would too why would you have to come? JB: Right. Yeah, I'll say the same thing. if if that's why I was saying if if if Michael Pet I don't say I messed his name up, but if he's bawling, DeeDee: Okay. Troy: Pennsylvania. JB: man, Pellix why why why even remove him? That's I feel like that'd have messed up that chemistry. Yeah, I can see if he was fucking up, man. Then you bring tour back in. But till then, let that man ball and see what see where it goes. 'Cause look like he has some look that's that's the Michael that I I was warned I've been warned to see. I hate to say for the But I've been wanting to see that dude play like he played the last two wins they didn't had on Africa. Okay. Troy: Yeah, yeah, that's true. JB: So you think has it got better? Let's say the last twenty years for between the the you know, the Afric the African American black quarterbacks and white crack. You feel like it's it's getting better or it's still the same compared to let's say twenty years ago where it was? Troy: No. DeeDee: So. Troy: No. JB: Dang D. DeeDee: 20 years ago I was a little kid so I was making Troy: Ha ha ha. DeeDee: slow progression. Everything take time, it take too much time. JB: I think I think it got a little better. because you got some you got not all African American quarterbacks are you know used we used to have that label, they used to have that label on them as all they can do is run. From Curtis DeeDee: Yeah. JB: Stewart to Sean King, I think his name was to Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick. All they used to think is run, run, run. But now we got some people like Dak. Dak Dak can play both ways. Shit to me Watson, who I'm leaving out, Jelly when he wanna play. DeeDee: Yeah. JB: But we you they I think it come a long way from just having that y'all just runners, y'all just runners. or slash players. I I think it's coming getting a little better. All right, y'all let's move on, let's switch. Yeah, yeah, a little is is better than nothing. Then those contracts looking good. Look at Patrick Patrick Mahomes. I know he's mixing up still. Troy: Yeah, just a little. DeeDee: Okay. Troy: Man man, he he he he he defined as h his white side, bro. He don't define that's no brother. JB: He's getting that black money. So all that work. All Troy: He getting that white money. That's that white JB: right, now let's move over to another sport, y'all. Let's let's talk about the D Wade. I don't know if y'all been watching a lot of it's been a back and forth with D Wade and Paul Pierce. for y'all, who had a a better career? I mean I'm talking about playoffs, regular season, championships, and I'll give y'all a few numbers. Dwayne Wade, sixteen seasons, average twenty two, four rebounds, five assists, one steal. DeeDee: Okay. JB: Forty percent. And his accurators are three championships, one MVP finals, thirteen All Stars, eight NBA all eight NBA first teams, and three all defense. And let me give y'all Paul and I was right fast. Nineteen, five, three, one. And one championship, one finals, ten All Stars, and four NBA All Stars. Who do y'all have? Who who who who y'all feel had a better season? I mean a better career. DeeDee: So. So. JB: You know, that's that's what they've been talking about a lot. Paul 'cause you know, Paul's gonna have his Paul thing, he's he's the goat, period. Troy: That's just like when he was when he was trying to get that farewell to him. Like Draymond to that boy, you ain't Colby They'll JB: Yeah. Troy: love you like that. JB: Yeah. Troy: They'll love you JB: Yeah. Troy: like that. You know? So yeah, man. Pi Piers he was a good player, but he he ain't on no no D Wave level. DeeDee: late. JB: Yeah, that's you know, D Way my s my third greatest shooting guard of all time. So I I guess what this might be a little different. So with five seconds on the clock, which one of those two players y'all want with that last second shot? DeeDee: D-Way. Troy: And D Wade. JB: Last minute. Troy: Even though Paul and hit some some game winners himself, but I I gotta put that ball away and way. JB: Yeah, I even flip it where I I would have him even him him guarding somebody, I would want Wade on that defender 'cause he Wade was a a like a on ball defender. They don't have too many of those like they used to on Troy: There. Yeah, and Paul was slow. His game was slow. You know what I'm saying? So JB: I used call him call him Reacher 'cause every time somebody blew bomb, he reaching swinging. DeeDee: Wait, Troy: So I I gotta wait all the way. DeeDee: yes sir. JB: So give me our so we're on shooting guards before we get off this one. Gimme our top three shooting guards of all time. Troy: Top three. JB: Yeah. Troy: John Colby Arms. JB: We got it on D. DeeDee: Game changes. JB: you mean DeeDee: Innovators. JB: Mm Mike in me Jordan, T Mac, and I'll go ahead say I'll ahead and say jelly bean. Give me Kobe. But yeah, I go Jordan T Mac and Kobe for me. But yeah. Matter of fact, let's take make it a little harder, 'cause everybody gonna say the top two gonna always be Colby and Jordan. Take them two out and give me two other ones. Everybody DeeDee: Hmm. JB: gonna always say them two. Troy: T Mac Iverson DeeDee: Right you're out. Troy: No. JB: People sleep on Ray Allen game, bro. When he was with Buck yeah, he his Buck Day, he was Troy: to tell you, I like Ray I like Ray when he was with the Bucks. When that's when he was that's when he was a he was murdering people, don't gan and you know what I'm saying? That's the Ray I like. But when he went to to Boston, he was just a shooter. But when he was in in Milwaukee, man, that boy was an animal. JB: Dog. Dog dog. Yeah, I I take out Kobe and Jordan. I I have T Mac on D D Wade. Troy: Yeah, I forgot about Wade. Yeah, D Wade. Yeah. Yeah, most of them. T Mac, D Wade, I'm that'll be my dream. JB: Yeah, AI I gotta respect AI for that especially for his height and everything. What you got D? DeeDee: I JB: Yeah, it does. DeeDee: that's JB: Yeah, I figure 'cause I know everybody when we talk about it, there always there's always those from Kobe, which Kobe and Mike. So I figured I changed up a little bit. DeeDee: Yeah. Troy: You gotta put Mike in there. You gotta put them too. So there was the standard. DeeDee: Yeah. Troy: So JB: All right, let's talk let's talk let's move on to this part. we're gonna turn this into old school versus new school. I know I know I I charge it on this. Which which let's let's start off NFL. What era would you you think is better and I guess old school, what we won't consider old school like two thousand Ten, on down to to now. Troy: Yeah. I'm I'm a say five JB: thank you Troy: on down, two thousand. Yeah, you could go ten on down. JB: So which which which which era you like? Does that era? I'm talking about back in the seventies, eighties, nineties, two thousands. DeeDee: So. Thank you. Troy: No, no, listen. I I'm more from from ninety five to two thousand ten. That's the NFL I like. JB: And he was able to knock a hair. Troy: When you get you man, when you was man, what? I need that Ryan Clark, Hitton, James Harrison, you know, I I like that type football. You know, all this new this new shit is this too soft. JB: You got D. DeeDee: I'll say 95 to 2010 to LT Adrian Peterson against Frank Gorgl. When it was raw enough. You could hit the quarterback and then the quarterback, the Eli man, the Peyton man, know, Brady and his prom, Big Ben and Vic. JB: Freeze. Big Ben. yeah. Shit, I'm with ya. I'm with y'all on that one 'cause DeeDee: He could hit the quarterback. He can't really hit the quarterback now, you know, I think I'm playing this week. They threw a flag. It was third and long. They talking about roughing the pass because he said he hit the quarterback quarterback barely got the ball. I'm like, I don't know what the defenders are supposed to do. And now, you know, they got they watching for receivers flopping, running into the cornerbacks to get the flag. So I think that's going to be a thing, It's this league crazy now. JB: I agree. Troy: It is so soft. JB: What what two weeks ago when that when ol boy here Patrick Mahomes and he laid out like Troy: yeah, there's no way. JB: what what can I do? Troy: There was no way what he can do. He was already in the motion and 'cause he landed on him, they throw the flag. But what I'll support him do, I'll put a hit him in and roll off. What if I hit him and he don't fall? I gotta wrap up. So like that it just making a you know, and this especially for Patrick Mahomes, you know, he get he gets everything. DeeDee: Yeah, yeah. He the golden child in that fair. JB: Exactly. Exactly. Troy: You know, his his offensive line can move before the ball snap and and that and that'll be all right. JB: Now he said he's the golden child. Which a what about the NBA the Troy: Yeah. JB: NBA? Which I'll again, I guess we can use the same time frame, I guess, the the the nineties era. That's I guess we can say Troy: I like the nineties era. When there was when it was clothes lining people, there was really fighting and you didn't get tossed out the game. Like when when Draymond called LeBron a bitch, he gets he gets suspended for a game. So DeeDee: Yeah. Troy: yeah, like I don't like that. That's too soft. DeeDee: It's too Disney now. It's too Disney now. You know what I'm saying? They want to be like a hospital musical movie. Nobody can be competitive. You know what I'm saying? It's about having competitive nature now. You can even put this into real world situations now. Peewee football, everybody win. Ain't no winners. I ain't no losers now. So you taking that competitive nature out of the young generation in US. What generation? Alpha? Whatever they call them. It's gonna be I say when they become the the new adults it's gonna be I would like to see how the world's gonna work you know saying to leave it now like I Know we talking about sports, but like even that job You know you can't talk to people certain ways like the way you used to if somebody wasn't working you tell them you that look you know saying but nowadays if you tell somebody do they job they gonna go to HR and So it's a weird dynamic this with JB: crazy the world we live in. I think the the NFL and NBA is like I I think they made it they make it in so soft for for the making it so hard for the defense both you can say both ways, but it used to be you can hand check. I think I don't know if they was losing ratings, but they want they want that hundred and fifty like NBA they want that hundred and fifty percent a game or Troy: I don't want to see that. JB: NFL they want the fifty, forty and fifty percent and you can't do this, you can't do that, you can't hit a receiver. you have the you have to lay the quarterback down. I'm with you too, try I don't wanna see that a hundred and fifty su something not like the old days. Give me give me that I guess depends on who's playing, but I wanna see that hundred and give me a hundred to ten or he was a struggle to get ninety DeeDee: Okay. JB: perts back in the days. I don't wanna see Troy: Yeah. JB: that kind of ball, but I wanna see something, man. Let us let play a Lil's old school defense. Not a much not DeeDee: So. JB: no hip clothes lining nobody. Troy: But that's just like with the with the NBA, you can't even fuss with the refs no more. You get a technical. So that's that's terrible. DeeDee: you JB: Yeah. All right, indeed, I'm glad I'm glad you're on the show, to help us with this one. old school hip hop versus new school. Why do you think a lot of the old heads, and I call myself that, they feel that way ab about a lot of the young generation music, from the young boy to the who Uzi to who I'm even out? You know, some of the big some of the some of the people that's been out right now. DeeDee: Man, is a lot of no, I'm barely 30s. New artists, don't even know them now. So I would say, you know, I listen to a lot of older music too. The biggest difference would be the message. You know what saying? Nowadays, man, the drill, drill music is like one of the hottest music right now. it's just niggas killing niggas. You know what saying? I don't know if I can say that on the show, but that's basically what it is. But I would say the message of the music of the nineties was like more empowering. to our people and then a lot of people have infiltrated our culture as well. Back in the day you wouldn't see Caucasian males walking around listening to rap. They had their own little music genre they have. But now with the way the internet is, anybody and everybody can infiltrate our music. So it's losing its meaning. JB: Thank Joy. Troy: You know, my whole thing is I don't be knowing what them cats be talking about. You know. DeeDee: Huh. Troy: So I be trying I I be need to understand. So I I don't listen. Only once I really listen to like the baby, little baby, dirt, And that's really it. Like Kevin Gates, but I threw you know, Rye Wade, you know, I listen to like them 'cause I I can understand their music, but like them Young Boy and all them, nah, I can't get with them. JB: Yeah, I listen to a I listen to a little bit of both, but s I'm I'm gonna show some the message is is so far off now these days where you definitely don't get in the same message from back then. But again, I'm I'm some of the names that you just named, Tri I'm into from the Dirk to the Lil' Baby, the baby. Now one thing I don't care for, I know we talked last time, but some of these female rappers, stuff they talk about, man, some of it can flow which they don't play a lot of the the good music on radio. You gotta No you gotta actually know you gotta be a true fan to know when some of these female artists dropped. But yeah, I get a lot DeeDee: yeah. JB: of hearing Booty O Brown and all that type of stuff from Troy: I'm about to tell you right now right now she must be hiding because you don't really be hearing nothing about no more. So JB: she DeeDee: that JB: she coming here and she just came she was in the movie out I was watching the other day. So taking a little break to Troy: Yeah, well we need that brain. JB: Ha ha. DeeDee: Hmm. Troy: Damn, that was just too much. JB: Yeah, right. So let's check let's go to producers, man. why y'all think you know I remember back in the days when producers used to charge a million a half a million to a million dollars a a a beat? Y'all think because of how the internet is now, where you can be making a beat from your laptop or your cell phone. DeeDee: On band lab. JB: So people not into the into paying that much money when you can just hey, let me go let me go to I've got that that website like might be one you were talking about, DD, where you just look at the beats and pick something and say, Hey man, take take this ten grand. DeeDee: Yeah, band live. Man, there's so many. you look up tight beats on YouTube, you'll get millions of beats. And they sell them for $10. And they be just as good as, you know what saying, as some of the best producers. And then with AI now, it's going to change the game up. You can have AI help you make a beat and help you change the pitch and do all that. So, technology. As technology is man, I mean, you can't really... I like, you know what I'm C-Poosers get their money, because that's their craft, their skill, they got a certain... You can't have... AI ain't gonna make a beat like Kanye would just because, you know, that's Kanye, you know, it's different. But there's a lot of different ways to get beats and get yourself heard out there. You know what I'm saying? JB: Just right. Troy: It all depends on who the producer is too. The one them old school producers and some of the new school producers, they still, you know what I'm saying, out here getting me money, so I prefer the old school way, but this this new generation stuff it's is it's a lot. JB: It used to be like where you can you you knew a Doctor Drake beat, you knew a p Parell beat, you knew a Timler, you knew a a K L beat, you knew a a Manny Fresh beat. so it's now it's like I used some of the beats, I'd be like 'cause DeeDee: Thank JB: I think Perel just actually dropped a song with him and what his name is. DeeDee: Bye, Mo. JB: I know Lil' Baby dropped one with him. He dropped and he dropped DeeDee: Next. JB: another one that just came out. Give me the old school, man. I ain't taking nothing away from these nuke yet. Hey, get your money. And and go from there. So y'all had two, give me our top three producers of all time. DeeDee: Sheesh, that was tough. Troy: Kanye Pharrell. Chamberlain. DeeDee: Of all time, that's tough. I would say, Troy: You gotta put Doctor Dre in there too. DeeDee: I was gonna say, you gotta put Dre in there just because what, you know what I'm the legacies and the foundation he laid down. I would say Dr. Dre. I would say DJ Premier. Man, I got a piece of mic from down south. I would say DJ Paul. Three Seas Mommy, that's the most sampled music. Three Seas Mommy can get sampled more than any artist ever. But yeah, I put Kanye in there. can't have a, I listen to a lot of music, so I can't have a top three. I ain't gonna lie to you. JB: I think mine's would be let's see, Dr. Dre. Dr. Dre, I'm gonna keep the rest out. I'm I'm not saying that's my cousin now, but Kel and and Jermaine Dupree. And if I had to do honorable, I put I'll put DeeDee: Thank you. JB: I put fresh in there too, 'cause man, fresh still making hits. DeeDee: Yeah. JB: I think that'll be my I know I said three, but my four. gotta go yeah, K KLC, Jermaine Dupree, Fresh, like I said. Dr. Drake, man, he just I wanna say almost that goat. I almost forgot about Scott Stoic be dropping some fire too. I know he hasn't heard too much about it recently, but he be dropping some fire. Troy: Yeah. Yeah. Back in the days, yeah, he he he was. He was. JB: Yeah. See what we got next. DeeDee: you JB: that top three honorable everything. What's that one song since we since we on talking about producers, that one song y'all hear that DeeDee: So. JB: hear that that beat, you can be in a club, car driving. He like, that's my shit. DeeDee: Damn. Let me see, that meat mill dreamin' of nightmares. Young JB: Yeah. I get your hype. DeeDee: Dolph a hundred shots. Troy: Yeah. DeeDee: There's a lot of songs that I just like, if I hear... Troy: Right. It yeah, it's there's too many to name. DeeDee: Yeah, that's that cheesy, all there. JB: thing for me is that this back in my club days, Joey, you he was there with me a lot of them nights. That w that little John when he when it when that I don't give a fuck used to come on. I used to kill a Troy: yeah, yeah, yeah. JB: club and of course KLC that down from my hitters. Man, DeeDee: Yeah. JB: those two either you either you gonna you gonna fight or you're gonna think about hitting somebody. DeeDee: No, it's crazy. I heard that in the club not too long ago, like a week ago. by my hitters. It's JB: Yeah. DeeDee: crazy. Some songs just last generations like that. JB: But that's that's a that's a galaxy. Troy: Yeah. Yeah, announced that back in the date shit by DeeDee: Yeah, they were pledging to it. So we was at the club and the girl, the A.K.A. was doing their little dance to it. I was like, JB: Yeah, yeah, 'cause he you know one back when that phone first came out in New Orleans, my God, boy, that I think we wanna hear that song. Troy: Yep. You have to watch a You have to watch JB: Right. Detroit they could have played that song. Troy: the show. JB: Exactly, they could have played that song like like you said Tyrese's song Sweet Lady for fifteen minutes. And the club would have been Troy: Man. Yeah, you JB: been gone. Troy: definitely. JB: Man. All right, let's move over to some controversy with who I say his name right, Da Vinci. Some of the let's let's start off with some of the stuff that he said. I played this clip. Let's go with this first one. What's this? DeeDee: Okay. you Thank Okay. Okay. JB: So what's y'all thoughts on on on on that comment? I got another one after that one, but I want to get your thoughts on that. Troy: My thing is with that, right? How you say that I was the same way I was able to take care of myself at fucking eight, nine years old, but that was in my generation. This generation here, the parents, they do a lot for their kids. So, you know what I'm saying? They don't DeeDee: Okay. Troy: require a lot. So they allow the kids to not do anything, so they they doing it for So I feel on that part. JB: Yeah, I I before I get to you, D D I I agree with him almost I'm gonna say almost a hundred percent 'cause man, this like George said also back our parents did you know, I came we came up in just about the same era. Our parents did what they could, but now it's just what we I'm not saying talk I'm I'm talking about where we from. the stuff that we seen, we made sure we didn't we wanted our kids to not go for needing, not go for need over that word is. We wanna make sure they got everything they needed. DeeDee: Thank JB: But as far as like he said that some of the you got some twenty five and thirty five year olds that I I agree with that, don't even know to wash damn clothes. Put all colors together. don't know how to cook, don't know how to use a a a skillet, don't know how to write a a letter. I they're taking cursive out the out the school. DeeDee: Hey, teach us how to write, Terrence. I ain't gonna lie. JB: Yeah. Troy: See, that's a problem. When when they when you go on a job interview and they say I need your signature, which you're gonna write in print, like, but that's that's that's an issue though. But then when we back in the days, we our parents will leave the house with you like five, six years old. Don't open my door for nobody. You you'll be home by yourself. You know what I'm saying? So I know JB: Ain't do none. Troy: that I was like that. JB: What you got, D? DeeDee: I look like I ain't too much younger, so we about the same age. I was out the house at 17, so I can't really judge a lot of people based off, you know what I'm saying? But that's his observation of what he seen. All my friends, we was all out the house. We all knew how to do, you know what I'm We all knew how to make food and stuff, but... Nowadays, feel like the generation after me, they don't have to do that because like, if they want to eat, they got a cell phone, they just door dash on food, you know what saying? While JB: Nice one. Troy: The I hate that. I ain't even gonna lie to you. DeeDee: the obesity rate is how it is now, Troy: I hate that, bruh. DeeDee: your thing is on reach. You want to leave your Troy: Yeah. DeeDee: you got to leave an iPad or a PlayStation at the crib. They keep my- Now I come out the room for like two days. Troy: Yeah. DeeDee: Like the feedback which he said, y'all parents tried to make sure y'all had everything y'all needed. The generation now, they got everything they need in some and it's becoming too much. It's over consumption of what's going on. And that's probably gonna hurt this country in long run. Especially with AI and stuff, why would I hire somebody they can't do, unless I can just hire a robot to do it? Troy: The JB: Exactly. That's a that's a good topic. Let's talk about it. We actually we got that show coming up soon. Yeah, man it's it's I'm with y'all man, I'm a part of that reason too. Actually I'm on I make it so easy for my kids and spell them so much where shit I'm thinking I'm doing the I'm supposed to but at the same time sometimes with my boys we got this thing called thug it out where I'm I teach them how to cook school. or wash their own clothes and everything so when they ready for college, they know all this stuff. So that's something that we do. sh they'll tell you, Tanya tell man, we got dug it out night. If I cook this night, you better figure out your own meal the next night. And hey, Junior can cook a hell of a breakfast. Jonathan can cook everything and Jeremy can cook. So I'm good on that and it's all about the parents too, man. If you sit down and say, look man We ain't eating all this damn takeout food 'cause you know, back then it was a it was a pleasure to get a damn McDonalds on a Friday to go to fucking Troy: Listen. JB: Best Blockbuster. DeeDee: Hey, sir. Troy: Listen, but I ain't know where the restaurant was until I was older. That's it. DeeDee: Right, I didn't have my first egg until I was in my twenties. JB: Yeah. Right. So we had back then. All we used to go to was Godfathers, Godfather's Pizza. Troy: Mm. JB: Godfather's Pizza. You know, that was back on in New Orleans on Bullet. Troy: see, I don't know nothing about these like that. JB: roo what that was, Rhine's and you had Shony and Piccadilly's Troy: Ryan Shonies. Yeah, listen. That's all I do. Yeah, definitely. I ain't know nothing about nothing else. JB: Right. All right, let's go to his his next one. This the other one count this the I think this is the one that got everybody really hyped up. DeeDee: Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. JB: What's on that one? Troy: First of all, I just need to know why you're talking so damn slow. DeeDee: Hmm. Troy: That's the first thing. But then with that s you know, with the slavery shit, listen at the end of the day they still tryna keep us in that position anyway. So that's how I feel. JB: You got on L D. DeeDee: I can agree and disagree because the system is meant for our people to feel anyway, so we gonna always be playing the game. What I can agree with is letting the slavery stuff kind of hold you back. You gotta never forget what happened to our people and our ancestors. No, you don't ever do that. I don't agree with what said there. But in order for us to move forward, we gotta learn how to play the game, how they play in the game and beat the system. I mean, that's the only way. We definitely gotta unify as people for one of them. That too. But. They gonna always be against us and they get killed by cops every day. like, it's, I mean, what can we do? I get racially profiled a lot. I'm a whole engineer, you know, just cause the way I dress, the way I look. So just being able to learn how to play the game, know how to move in those spaces could give you a bigger gain in life and pass information down. Don't be a crab in a bucket. You see your brother put them on some game. Troy: But that's not what we do. DeeDee: You teach them about credit, teach them about finances, teach them about stock market. But we the biggest super-culture of the 8th century. Troy: But that's not what we're doing though. A a lot of us but a lot of us not pulling each other back, pulling each other up, should I see? DeeDee: And open up shop, open up a wig shop, open up a shoe store. We the first people in line. We the biggest consumers in the world, not just in America. So until like we change our way of thinking, it'll just be like that. We are the most influential race in the only globe. We were the first people here. So JB: I agree. Troy: Right on time. DeeDee: that's why they don't teach us that they just teach us when you in school, they just teach you about slavery. They don't teach you what happened before then. But that's something that I had to learn on my own. People got to be willing to learn that too. JB: Yeah, that's I agree with y'all on on both that that I know like you said that that can be taken so many different ways where some people like kinda like D D say he he agree and disagree and agree disagree too. But it's like some people hear slavery and it just DeeDee: yeah, just cut JB: Yes. DeeDee: off. JB: They they missed everything else he said, it was like, nah, he said this and that. So it's crazy that it's supposed to be freedom of speech, but he wound up losing like two hundred thousand followers because of what he said. And I and again these days you can cancel yourself for a for the for the smallest thing. That's one thing I hate about this generation too, man. It's too soft. DeeDee: I'm a cancel coach. That's my job. Troy: Yeah. DeeDee: You that on Twitter when I was in high school. Somebody say something, you don't like, cancel. But yeah, that's a toxic, you know what saying? Because you won't ever hear the other person's perspectives of the situation if you just cut off all things and go with the majority. Like a million months, you're going like a song that's up. that's going to influence somebody else to like it because everybody else likes it. But that's just how the world moves in waves like that. JB: That's crazy. Everybody, if you're still watching, again, we want to thank y'all and make sure y'all hit that subscribe and like button. Again, this show here is called Sports Talk for JB inside the barbershop. On Wednesday nights, we do it after hour, after after hours And on Tuesday night, we go live with NFL breakdown. We get more detail into breaking down the NF games, NFL games. All right, on that note, we have a a new segment we call Not That Dude. Alright, Troy. Didi, I know if you saw it now. It's I'm gonna play a clip. And Troy's gonna tell us what he think about it and at the end I'm gonna ask you you agree or not agree. Let's start off with I know we talked about my dog. That's her numbers his last game. Troy, what you think about that Troy: Man, Jalen that dude, bruh. He just had a bad week. You know? So I like Jalen. So he that I like him. He good. He just had a bad week. You ain't you ain't gonna be you know, it's any given Sunday, so he can play good one week, be bad the next week. So it's all good. He that dude. JB: What you got? DeeDee: I like the theme of this secret, that's dope. Like, they had a bad week, he put up JV numbers, but he ain't had Devontae Smith, no doubt with Goddard. Saquon left in the first quarter, so it was rough, and they still was up the whole game until the fourth quarter. So it ain't him, it's the coaching staff, and you gotta do something different. How you got four men to let them score twice on you? So you know what saying? It ain't her fault. It's more than just one person's fault. The quarterback got to take all the blame, especially the lad. The way the lad drive in there was horrible, yeah, he got him a Super Bowl ring, JB: I agree with Charlie, like I said, on the on the thing I put up, you see he had like a lot of missing parts that wasn't there. So I'm gonna count that as as a him having a bad game, but I still think he is. Troy: Trash. Boy, that's trash, man. Listen. Hey, if they went if they went forward again, I'd be surprised. JB: you Troy: I'll be surprised if they went forward. JB: So you don't you don't think Luca can Luca and A AR can carry this this roster to Elisa the Troy: Nah, nah. JB: the play in? Troy: 'Cause the thing is it the hoop? JB: Play in what they would Troy: no. Nah. Nah. It i like I say, if they win four of the games I'll be surprised. JB: So you see them just missing the playoffs period. Troy: Yeah, I I I don't see them doing that. JB: You agree with him on D? DeeDee: Hey, Mike, I mean. Troy: Man, they too light skinned over there. Boy, they too light skinned. DeeDee: Hmm Troy: Yeah, that's too light skinned for me. Mm-mm. JB: You got you got you got Collins, Bronny playing ball in the preseason. Troy: sĂ. JB: You got you got Bronny playing ball, he on his own Troy: Yeah, stop that. JB: Bronny got something to prove, man. He wanna show that he's not just the Brian James son and he didn't make it to the lead because of his dad, man. He wanna show y'all. Troy: Hey, keep it real. You think Brian they gonna play? JB: Yeah. DeeDee: Hmm. JB: I think he gonna get I think he's gonna start off probably ten minutes and mark his work his way Troy: You gonna get ten minutes? JB: up his way up to that fifteen minute mark, depending on Troy: man, stop that. JB: You didn't see the defense he was playing on stuff last night? Troy: Man style. JB: Yeah. I got one more two more for y'all and we'll be done with this one. All right. DeeDee: No. Troy: No, he not that dude. He ain't proved nothing to me yet. JB: believe it's an A D. DeeDee: I love this server but it's hard for me to... man, it's Troy: What? Why? Why? DeeDee: been couple years man, he was putting up monster numbers man, 5,000... Troy: Okay, he was he was putting up numbers but then what he d what he how he got in the he did the playoffs? W how far you went in the playoffs? Huh? DeeDee: That's all I'm saying. hard for me to defend him. It's hard for me to defend Herbert, man. They owe him four. This was supposed to be the year he ain't really got no weapons or nothing like that. Troy: Yeah. But when he has some weapons he do not he he a regular season quarterback. DeeDee: Not this year. He even ready to see it. He preceded him this year. JB: Exactly. He ain't none of that. DeeDee: at a Troy: No, but I'm just saying, he just he just a regular DeeDee: different place. Troy: season called back and then he white. You know what I'm saying? But if there was a brother who's egg who's doing that, they'll be all on him. Just like JB: That's about Troy: how they'd be on deck. You know what I'm saying? So JB: Be on his on his neck. Troy: yeah, man, DeeDee: Thank Troy: they they'd have been got him out of there. DeeDee: Matthew Stafford JB: Nothing at all. Nothing. Nothing. Troy: I mean. DeeDee: This is data. JB: He can throw three interceptions. They can s they gonna blame everybody but but the but him. DeeDee: Broncos came back 17-0. He threw a pitch six at the end of the game. I ain't hear nobody. I ain't Troy: Amen. But you but you but you know JB: No but Troy: that's how it'd be though. But if it was a brother, it'd be all on his neck. JB: Right. Alright, this last one I got for y'all. Whew. That last album. Fan of Ripper. Troy: Yeah when did you have the last album? JB: It came out like about a month ago. DeeDee: That's hard though. They put too much in the music sales nowadays for me. Troy: I know yet Elvin. DeeDee: He got some bangers on there. JB: That's that's what I heard. Yeah, some nice songs on there. But I think like I'm kinda w I'm with you on that they make it bad for the record sales 'cause everybody's getting the songs free, but they count streams now, I guess. DeeDee: Yeah, it's weird, bro. The music industry weird. So if you like somebody like Drake, he gonna make 500, because this is gonna be a big pop star. for like Quavo just did, I think 9,000, 9,000. AZ Chyga, new rapper. That's hot. He did like 13. So album sales, it's tough now with the streaming area, man. Unless you JB: I see. Wait. DeeDee: like Drake. Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, you not going past 100,000 for a week. JB: Actually had Qu Quaver on the on the list too, 'cause he just dropped a single what Perel was it, J D DeeDee: Yeah, that's true, yeah. JB: Yeah, and you you don't hear no push on that one and again, that's why I say I hate listening to the radio in the morning or period. You got DeeDee: I don't need to hear a lot of people that listen to the radio as my generation. Most artists are independent, they're pushing themselves. If you don't got a lot of Instagram followers, that's it. If you ain't got no cult fan base, you ain't gonna get that push. Troy: Well well Rick Ross, he must have wasn't pushing that album, huh? 'Cause I I about JB: He was pushing. DeeDee: Are you with? Troy: to tell ya, I like you know, I used to I you know I was a big Ross fan at one time. You know, every every album came out where I was on. Port of Miami Two, that was my shit. I think like that was the last album I really heard from him. JB: See, I he he pushed it because everybody he try to beef with, he tried to beef with like of course the fifty thing. He tried to he went at game and said game had Lil Wayne, all these other artists on their on his album and his and his record sales didn't do shit. DeeDee: I mean, it's everybody though, like, so, I mean, what do you expect? All of the big artists ain't putting up numbers no more. I it is what it is. JB: Exactly. DeeDee: making excuses and this and that. I'm like, bro, just take it. Ain't nobody really moving music like that unless you know. Troy: Well, I might have to go I might have to go check that out and see. JB: They DeeDee: Picture that. JB: said it's nice. I hear I hear it was it's nice. But again, I think we'd make it bad that the beef that he's do he di with fifty and again game game laughed at him pretty much. DeeDee: He'll be some great food and know, gonna be Dre like him or not. I mean, I'm not really a Drake fan. I'm on the Kendrick side, but Drake gonna be Drake at the end of the day. gonna make some album sales. Troy: And the thing is, that's that's the part that I don't understand about with the Drake fans. Like he can come out with something and DeeDee: trick. Troy: they gon they gon blow that shit up. And then when you go listen to it, you'd be like, Man, what is this? Well I but I guess 'cause it's you know, you're a light skinned brother, you know, they be all on. DeeDee: Music now is consumed by popularity. If you popular, they don't listen to you. It's weird. Troy: yeah, most definitely. DeeDee: It's not about the talent, the skill no more. like I said, I listen to a lot of older music. I don't really listen to a lot. JB: So I guess sneak this question. I guess I ask this question. You think what Drake dropped in those last three albums, he bounced back from that the ass whooping that that Kendrick gave? DeeDee: Next up. Are you asking me? It JB: Yeah, b both y'all. You think that that open helped him get out of that bull that bullet DeeDee: ain't no coming back from that. hanging out with golf chicks wearing makeup. Like dude 40, bro. Like he's still trying to appeal to the youth. And that's the biggest thing. Kidding was talking about like, bro, you gotta like, gotta grow up, like grow with grow with your fans, you know, quit trying to follow trends and follow ways. You're not Peter Pan. You can't be young forever. But I mean, That's my perspective of it. You ask somebody else a Drake man and they don't tell you the total opposite And I like some of the songs on the album. Don't get me wrong like it's like lyrical stuff was decent Some song was deep in but a lot of it was trash and they say he did that to get out of record beer. You got So, you know JB: Yeah. Yeah. Three albums. Yeah. Which it does. Troy: Yeah, I I can't tell you last time I heard a three gallery, man. Like for real. Like I think like the one where he had came out with a double double thing where he was singing on one. I think like DeeDee: Yeah. Troy: that was like probably like the last time I even really try to pay attention to DeeDee: Man, I got a homeboy who was biggest Drake fan. We in high school. got this back when Xbox was the first console he could play music to. He bumping Drake all day every day. He don't even listen to Drake no more. He lost those things. He trying to appeal to a younger generation to stay relevant. I mean, yeah. Troy: And then he and I'm about to say that's the thing that what I don't like about him, like, you know, he go try to attack, you know, different people. That's like Ross, man. How you trying to attack people? 'Cause you trying to stay relevant. Man, I don't like that. I don't like that. I just think that's some girl type shit. JB: I just like good music, man. if I can like him and Kendrick, man, as long as I can get some good music I can sit back and listen to. Like I don't like the I like I don't like the promoting they be doing these days, all the beef and just to sell records. I don't understand that's what helps sometimes 'cause if if just like like Turk, if Turk gonna say, I got something on album about the hot the hot boys, BG's Juvie, he don't even have to have nothing on there but he's gonna people listen to every song on that on that album, trying to find that that that beef song. He'll no. DeeDee: I feel like y'all generation started that though. Tupac JB: Beef though. DeeDee: and Biggie, the Dr. Dre, Eazy E, the Nas and Jay Z. That was y'all generation that birthed that demon. JB: yeah. She that's that's what I I used I I used to love those old school those discs. But yeah, that's what I think, man. As long as you making good music for me, I'm gonna play it. DeeDee: Hip-hop is supposed to be competitive, so... JB: yeah. Troy: I believe it, I believe it. JB: Yeah, give me I said I I l I like D I like some a lot of Drake music. Just that I don't listen about it. I don't know because of Wayne backed him up a lot and probably ripped on kinda like he did Nikki. But Nikki, I love Nicki music. Like I know until she started doing that bullshit. Troy: Yeah, I like Nigga when she first came out. That's when I was a real fan of it. DeeDee: It was a female rapper for sure for sure. Troy: When she first came, you know, I like the little antics she used to do, you know, the little different little voices and stuff like that. But once she started coming to like the mean girl era, I was like, nah, 'cause I felt like her and Cardi could have really did something big together. But DeeDee: Thanks. Troy: she just thing you know, she just wanted to be that one. And nah, man, you got it's it's so many lanes for y'all. Well y'all could have y'all DeeDee: Thank Troy: could have did that together and did it separate, but You know, she was wanted to be a mean girl and that was whack. DeeDee: He did the thing to made the stallion when she was popping. It was like any big woman Troy: Yeah. DeeDee: that was coming out, she would disown them. Even if they, Troy: And I can. DeeDee: like she was an influence to them, would, that's my daughter, this and that, I'm like damn. JB: Yeah. So imagine if if it wa let's go back to from even if a little 'cause you know, Lil Kim didn't wanna pass Nikki the torch from their little beef. So imagine if them two would have did a song back in the days. And even now, like y'all just say, you get Cardi, Nikki, Megan, Lotto can spit when she wants to. I'm not too big on ice pice and none of them and everybody else. DeeDee: Alright, JB: I'm just I'm just naming like the top, like I said, I know we know we got some females who can split, but imagine them those two they they probably can make some of the biggest female songs, even throw glow on there. club or whatever you want to call it music, if those women can can get their stuff together, I think it'd be fine. Troy: Yeah, definitely. That'll that'll be that'll be hot though. Like if you can get all of But you know, again, a lot of those egos, bruh. So that's why it would probably never happen with all of But you know, Carter did some Willado and Megan. Lorella too, but DeeDee: Yeah. Troy: you know, it's just Nikki, you know, she's the the I you know I'm saying the eye went out right now. So DeeDee: I already show love to all the female artists, I feel like. JB: Yeah. Even when she had with them cuss them out, she come back and try to try to work with Like it's too much Troy: Yeah. JB: too much money out there. I ran before I get y'all out of here. Which what's y'all what game are y'all looking forward to this weekend to on s for a team to make a good statement? Besides Vegas and New England, I wanna see what Minnesota Minnesota and Stanks do. Shit. Got a couple good ones. Cleveland and Giants. No, that's Jetson. Of course, Washington and in New York is always a good one. forty nines in Seattle and Baltimore in in the Falcons. Troy: I wanna see I wanna see the Saints. I wanna see what the Saints JB: We just won't see it. Troy: gonna do. I wanna see the Viking only reason why I wanna see the Vikings is because you know my boy I went over there. So, you know. That's all. See what you know I'm saying, if they're gonna give him the ball or not. So that's it. For me. DeeDee: And I'm going with the the Koolie King of the West, the NFC West. It's Niners versus Seahawks. That's going to be a statement in the division. They already said that the Niners are going to We're going all out. So we're going to do a big trade. So how can we get this win, go 5-0? And get it going. Because who we play after that? I don't even know who we play after that. I've been looking forward to this game. So that's probably the only game I've been waiting on. After that, I think it's an easy game. JB: You got do Seattle, Washington, Falcons, Vegas, the cow. Troy: yeah, that's that's that's look, vape you know I'm saying that's Washington game, that's a har that's a win now. DeeDee: Yeah, so yeah, we gotta win this one. Gotta win it. JB: We gotta we DeeDee: The Seahawks play the Chiefs after they play us. So we beat them, Chiefs beat them. We'll be two games in the love on the Rams end then. So we gotta get this dug. JB: I can't believe look at the schedule, I can't believe the forty nineers and cowboys not a prime game. That's a three DeeDee: Man, I don't know. Thank you, man. They trippin'. Troy: Yeah, 'cause I need I need y'all to beat this crap out of the cowboys. Belt the ass. JB: You you DeeDee: We always do. JB: I say you we live we live out here, we gonna hear it.
