• 0:02
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in scripture and relevant for.
• 0:07
Today, May 7th, Plans, choices, and God's guidance.
• 0:14
Have you ever made a choice that looked harmless at first, but
• 0:16
slowly started taking over more of your heart than you expected?
• 0:20
  A habit, a friendship, a secret, a desire, a distraction.
• 0:26
Sometimes the danger is not that something looks obviously wrong,
• 0:29
it is that it quietly begins to dominate you.
• 0:33
Proverbs chapter 15 verses 22 to 23 says without counsel plans
• 0:38
fail, but with many advisors they succeed to make an
• 0:42
apartment. Answer is a joy to a man and a
• 0:45
word in season how good it is. First Corinthians chapter 10
• 0:49
verse 13 says that no temptation has overtaken you except what is
• 0:54
common to man and that God is faithful and will provide the
• 0:58
way of escape. Then First Corinthians chapter
• 1:01
10 verse 23 says all things are lawful for me, but not all
• 1:06
things are helpful. All things are lawful for me,
• 1:10
but I will not be dominated by anything.
• 1:12
That is wisdom for real life. You do not have to figure
• 1:16
everything out alone. God often protects you through
• 1:19
wise counsel, a parent, a mentor, a pastor, a trusted
• 1:24
friend, or someone who loves you enough to tell you the truth.
• 1:28
Plans can fail when we are too proud to ask for help, but there
• 1:31
is safety and humble listening. And when temptation comes, God
• 1:35
does not shame you for being tempted.
• 1:38
He reminds you that you are not alone, and He provides a way of
• 1:42
escape. There is always a moment to
• 1:44
pause, a door to walk away from, a message you do not have to
• 1:48
send, a website you can close, a conversation you can leave, a
• 1:53
prayer you can whisper. The question is not only can I
• 1:56
do this, sometimes the better question is, is this helping me
• 2:00
become who God called me to be? Let's pray Heavenly Father guide
• 2:05
my plans and shape my choices. Give me humility to seek wise
• 2:09
counsel and courage to listen when you correct my direction.
• 2:13
When temptation comes, help me see the way of escape and take
• 2:17
it. Do not let anything dominate my
• 2:19
heart except your love and Your will.
• 2:21
Lead me in the path that honors you in Jesus name, Amen.
• 2:26
What if the battles hitting your family are not random and your
• 2:29
home can become a place where darkness loses every right to
• 2:32
stay? The Secured Home is a powerful

Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
• 3:32
Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 15 verses 22 to
• 3:37
23 World English Bible where there is no counsel.
• 3:42
Plans fail, but in a multitude of counselors they are
• 3:45
established. Joy comes to a man with the
• 3:47
reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right
• 3:51
  time? First Corinthians Chapter 10
• 3:54
World English Bible Now I would not have you ignorant brothers,
• 3:59
that our fathers were all under the cloud and all pass through
• 4:02
the sea, and we're all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in
• 4:05
the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food and all drank the
• 4:10
same spiritual drink, for they drank of a spiritual rock that
• 4:14
followed them, and the rock was Christ.
• 4:17
However, with most of them God was not well pleased, for they
• 4:21
  were overthrown in the wilderness.
• 4:23
Now these things were our examples to the intent we should
• 4:26
not lust after evil things as they also lusted.
• 4:30
Don't be idolaters, as some of them were.
• 4:33
As it is written, the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose
• 4:37
up to play. Let's not commit sexual
• 4:39
immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day 23,000
• 4:43
fell. Let's not test Christ, as some
• 4:46
of them tested and perished by the serpents.
• 4:49
Don't grumble as some of them also grumbled and perished by
• 4:53
the destroyer. Now all these things happen to
• 4:56
them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition
• 5:00
on whom the ends of the ages have come.
• 5:03
Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he
• 5:06
doesn't fall. No temptation has taken you
• 5:09
except what is common to man. God is faithful who will not
• 5:13
allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with
• 5:17
the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able
• 5:20
to endure it. Therefore, my beloved, flee from
• 5:24
idolatry. I speak as to wise men.
• 5:27
Judge what I say. The cup of blessing which we
• 5:29
bless, isn't it a sharing of the blood of Christ?
• 5:33
The bread which we break, isn't it a sharing of the body of
• 5:36
Christ? Because there is one loaf of
• 5:38
bread? We who are many are one body,
• 5:41
for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
• 5:44
Consider Israel according to the flesh.
• 5:47
Don't those who eat the sacrifices participate in the
• 5:50
altar? What am I saying then?
• 5:52
That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is
• 5:56
anything but? I say that the things which the
• 5:59
Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to
• 6:03
God. And I don't desire that you
• 6:05
  would have fellowship with demons.
• 6:08
You can't both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.
• 6:11
You can't both partake of the table of the Lord and of the
• 6:14
table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to
• 6:17
jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
• 6:20
All things are lawful for me, but not all things are
• 6:23
profitable. All things are lawful for me,
• 6:26
but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own, but
• 6:30
each one his neighbor's good. Whatever is sold in the butcher
• 6:34
shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience.
• 6:38
For the earth is the Lord S and its fullness.
• 6:41
But if one of those who don't believe invites you to a meal
• 6:45
and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you,
• 6:48
asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
• 6:52
But if anyone says to you, This was offered to idols, don't eat
• 6:56
it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of
• 6:59
conscience. For the earth is the Lord S with
• 7:02
all its fullness. Conscience, I say, not your own,
• 7:06
but the others conscience. For why is my liberty judged by
• 7:09
another conscience? If I partake with thankfulness,
• 7:13
why am I denounced for something I give thanks for?
• 7:16
Whether therefore, you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do
• 7:19
all to the glory of God. Give no occasion for stumbling,
• 7:24
whether to Jews or to Greeks, or to the Assembly of God, even as
• 7:28
I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own
• 7:32
prophet, but the prophet of the many, that they may be saved.
