  Today, May 7th, Plans, choices, and God's guidance.

  Have you ever made a choice that looked harmless at first, but
• 0:16
  slowly started taking over more of your heart than you expected?

  A habit, a friendship, a secret, a desire, a distraction.
• 0:26
  Sometimes the danger is not that something looks obviously wrong,
• 0:29
  it is that it quietly begins to dominate you.

  Proverbs chapter 15 verses 22 to 23 says without counsel plans
• 0:38
  fail, but with many advisors they succeed to make an
• 0:42
  apartment. Answer is a joy to a man and a
• 0:45
  word in season how good it is. First Corinthians chapter 10
• 0:49
  verse 13 says that no temptation has overtaken you except what is
• 0:54
  common to man and that God is faithful and will provide the
• 0:58
  way of escape. Then First Corinthians chapter

  10 verse 23 says all things are lawful for me, but not all
• 1:06
  things are helpful. All things are lawful for me,
• 1:10
  but I will not be dominated by anything.

  That is wisdom for real life. You do not have to figure
• 1:16
  everything out alone. God often protects you through
• 1:19
  wise counsel, a parent, a mentor, a pastor, a trusted
• 1:24
  friend, or someone who loves you enough to tell you the truth.

  Plans can fail when we are too proud to ask for help, but there
• 1:31
  is safety and humble listening. And when temptation comes, God
• 1:35
  does not shame you for being tempted.

  He reminds you that you are not alone, and He provides a way of
• 1:42
  escape. There is always a moment to
• 1:44
  pause, a door to walk away from, a message you do not have to
• 1:48
  send, a website you can close, a conversation you can leave, a
• 1:53
  prayer you can whisper. The question is not only can I
• 1:56
  do this, sometimes the better question is, is this helping me
• 2:00
  become who God called me to be? Let's pray Heavenly Father guide
• 2:05
  my plans and shape my choices. Give me humility to seek wise
• 2:09
  counsel and courage to listen when you correct my direction.

  When temptation comes, help me see the way of escape and take
• 2:17
  it. Do not let anything dominate my
• 2:19
  heart except your love and Your will.

  Lead me in the path that honors you in Jesus name, Amen.

  Consider Israel according to the flesh.

  Don't those who eat the sacrifices participate in the

  That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is

  anything but? I say that the things which the

  Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to

  God. And I don't desire that you

  would have fellowship with demons.

  You can't both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.

  You can't both partake of the table of the Lord and of the

  table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to

  jealousy? Are we stronger than He?

  All things are lawful for me, but not all things are

  profitable. All things are lawful for me,

  but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own, but

  each one his neighbor's good. Whatever is sold in the butcher
• 6:34
  shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience.

  For the earth is the Lord S and its fullness.

  But if one of those who don't believe invites you to a meal
• 6:45
  and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you,

  asking no questions for the sake of conscience.

  But if anyone says to you, This was offered to idols, don't eat

  it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of

  conscience. For the earth is the Lord S with

  another conscience? If I partake with thankfulness,

  why am I denounced for something I give thanks for?

  Whether therefore, you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do

  all to the glory of God. Give no occasion for stumbling,

  whether to Jews or to Greeks, or to the Assembly of God, even as

  I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own

  prophet, but the prophet of the many, that they may be saved.
