- 0:57Speaker 4: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Well, I am very excited for today's show because I
- 1:03Speaker 3: have Emmy nominated former Real Housewife producer Patrick McDonald. No
- 1:11Speaker 3: direct relationship, but we're going to figure out if we're cousins. Patrick,
- 1:15Speaker 3: welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Your life has been very interesting. You were a star
- 1:24Speaker 3: of a reality show on Logo, and then you actually
- 1:27Speaker 3: became behind the scenes Emmy nominated of all these housewife shows,
- 1:31Speaker 3: which we are going to get into. But now you
- 1:33Speaker 3: are a nominated gay porn star numerous times.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Multiple over.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Yes. What a transition in life and good for you.
- 1:45Speaker 5: So welcome. Thank you. Thank you, Heather. You know, you
- 1:48Speaker 5: got to keep it interesting.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Everybody loves a pivot from time to time, you know?
- 1:52Speaker 5: I don't know. Things get like, I kind of like
- 1:55Speaker 5: to look at my life as like one of those
- 1:56Speaker 5: little snow globes.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 5: And like every couple of years, it's kind of like, eh,
- 1:59Speaker 5: I'm a little bored with it. Let's like shake the
- 2:01Speaker 5: thing up.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Let's shake it up.
- 2:02Speaker 5: And literally like dump everything out of my life and
- 2:05Speaker 5: start from scratch and keeps it fun, you know?
- 2:08Speaker 3: I first discovered you... about a year ago, I guess that,
- 2:13Speaker 3: you know, and, and DMG, but you missed my DM.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And that was because you kind of came forward and
- 2:19Speaker 3: spoke a little bit about this career change.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Can you speak on that?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 5: It was, uh, God, it was like a little over
- 2:25Speaker 5: a year ago now. Um, you know, I kind of
- 2:28Speaker 5: came forward with the fact that once I had started
- 2:30Speaker 5: doing only fans and, uh, Bravo found out about it,
- 2:34Speaker 5: like all of the shows iced me out. Like I had, I,
- 2:37Speaker 5: was currently working on Beverly Hills, Vanderpump Rules and OC
- 2:43Speaker 5: at the time. I was kind of like in a
- 2:44Speaker 5: rotation of those. And once I started doing the OnlyFans
- 2:48Speaker 5: very quickly, like all of those group chats, like dried up,
- 2:51Speaker 5: all of the emails stopped, you know, all of the
- 2:53Speaker 5: updates about kind of what's coming up next season. Like,
- 2:56Speaker 5: you know, there's like continuous conversations, even in the off
- 2:59Speaker 5: season at the time. And it was just very obvious
- 3:02Speaker 5: to me how they all like halted once, once I
- 3:05Speaker 5: started doing the OnlyFans. And so anyway, when I went
- 3:07Speaker 5: public with that and like kind of made a video
- 3:09Speaker 5: about it and it got a lot of like, you know,
- 3:12Speaker 5: press and pickup and it got a lot of support too.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Mostly from like housewives that I had produced, crew members
- 3:20Speaker 5: that I had worked with, other producers were very vocal
- 3:25Speaker 5: in the comments and online about like, you know, we
- 3:28Speaker 5: love this guy. We support what he's saying. Like he
- 3:30Speaker 5: was he was really supportive to me. And, um, so
- 3:34Speaker 5: that really meant a lot to me that, that, you know,
- 3:36Speaker 5: I had the support from the community, um, uh, while
- 3:39Speaker 5: I may not have had it from the network or
- 3:41Speaker 5: the production companies that I worked from, uh, worked for,
- 3:44Speaker 5: but yeah, so.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Well, then I, you know, I did this video that
- 3:48Speaker 3: you got a lot of, a lot of love too.
- 3:51Speaker 3: And it was just a funny parody of how I
- 3:55Speaker 3: feel like Shannon Bedore over the years. I think, and
- 3:59Speaker 3: I've known her personally for many years, but I really
- 4:01Speaker 3: kind of feel like she maybe unconsciously sort of became
- 4:05Speaker 3: a caricature of herself.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Like an exaggerated version.
- 4:09Speaker 3: And she found that this goofiness and tripping and falling
- 4:12Speaker 3: was kind of easy to do and, you know, get
- 4:16Speaker 3: the moment. So I did this point of view. You
- 4:19Speaker 3: go to the Shatham Doris acting school and I did
- 4:21Speaker 3: this video and you commented and.
- 4:25Speaker 5: A lot of people. I was just like sitting up
- 4:26Speaker 5: in Big Bear like, oh, like this is funny. And
- 4:28Speaker 5: then like, I had no idea that, I mean, that
- 4:30Speaker 5: comment Definitely like there's like three articles about it.
- 4:35Speaker 3: So the comment was basically you you said it's most
- 4:40Speaker 3: wild to see her go from absolutely losing her shit, yelling,
- 4:43Speaker 3: screaming and cussing at the producers and crew right before
- 4:45Speaker 3: the cameras turn on. And then she instantly clicks into
- 4:48Speaker 3: this tired old performative shtick. One of the most miserable
- 4:51Speaker 3: and narcissistic housewives across the entire brand.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Pretty harsh.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Um, but I kind of want to hear why you
- 5:00Speaker 3: think that from when you like worked on the show.
- 5:03Speaker 3: So this was one of the Real Housewives OC seasons
- 5:07Speaker 3: you worked on.
- 5:07Speaker 4: This was just this past one. This was the 18th.
- 5:10Speaker 7: No.
- 5:10Speaker 4: So this was two seasons.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Ago, right? This was two seasons ago.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Um, so what, how did you come up with that?
- 5:17Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I mean, my God, if I had known
- 5:19Speaker 5: that that comment on your video would have like done
- 5:22Speaker 5: so much, I might've not done it, you know, but, uh,
- 5:25Speaker 5: And then next thing I know, she's responding to the
- 5:28Speaker 5: comment with, of all people, Randy from Scream 2, which
- 5:32Speaker 5: I'm like a huge Scream fan. I was like. Life
- 5:35Speaker 5: is really fucking crazy. I've got Shannon Medora talking about
- 5:38Speaker 5: me to Randy from Scream 2. What is Randy from
- 5:41Speaker 5: Scream 2? Jamie Kennedy, who plays Scream 2, the movie.
- 5:45Speaker 5: He's like the iconic, like, you don't know the rules
- 5:48Speaker 5: of a horror movie? That's him.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I know Jamie Kennedy. He's been on this show. We've
- 5:52Speaker 3: done TV shows together.
- 5:54Speaker 4: I saw the videos. There's parts of it.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Okay, so she's doing an interview with Randy from Scream 2.
- 5:59Speaker 5: And they're talking about, like, she's like, this producer came
- 6:03Speaker 5: out and spoke about me. And she's like, I gave
- 6:08Speaker 5: you chicken, mister, or whatever. And it was just like,
- 6:11Speaker 5: first of all.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Because she served you lunch or something.
- 6:14Speaker 5: There was like a scene where we shot where there
- 6:16Speaker 5: was leftover food and like she was going to throw
- 6:18Speaker 5: it away and she let me take it home.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Thank you, Shannon. Thank you for that chicken. It doesn't
- 6:24Speaker 5: change the fact that you are also like a really
- 6:27Speaker 5: horrible person to most of the people around you. And
- 6:31Speaker 5: when she's doing the interview with Randy from Scream 2
- 6:34Speaker 5: and defending herself from what I said, in her next breath,
- 6:37Speaker 5: she's then defending herself from someone else that she had like,
- 6:41Speaker 5: mistreated or something that had spoken out about her that
- 6:44Speaker 5: very week, which was like someone from Southern Charm.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Who seems like a really nice guy, Rodney. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:51Speaker 5: But anyway, so like if you're having to like defend
- 6:53Speaker 5: yourself multiple times a week, like from what people are
- 6:56Speaker 5: saying about you, like maybe it's time to like take
- 6:58Speaker 5: a pause, right?
- 6:59Speaker 4: So, but what was it?
- 7:01Speaker 3: Because if you're supposed to be filming a reality show
- 7:04Speaker 3: and you're being real, this, what it sounds like to
- 7:08Speaker 3: me is that this sounds like what you would hear
- 7:11Speaker 3: about a regular actor that like loses their shit and
- 7:14Speaker 3: they're like, I'll do it live, you know, like, so
- 7:17Speaker 3: I'm kind of curious how this can happen in a
- 7:19Speaker 3: reality show.
- 7:20Speaker 5: It was wild. I mean, look, I have a lot
- 7:23Speaker 5: of empathy for anyone who's, going through a struggling time,
- 7:27Speaker 5: especially while shooting one of these shows. And I will
- 7:29Speaker 5: be the first to validate her complaint that it was
- 7:32Speaker 5: absolutely diabolical of them to add Alexis Bellino to that show. Okay,
- 7:39Speaker 5: this woman had just... just like drunk drove, got a
- 7:44Speaker 5: DUI for driving her house into a car.
- 7:47Speaker 4: You mean her car into a house.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Driving her car into a house. Correct.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I think it was a curb.
- 7:51Speaker 5: The other way around.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I think it was a curb.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Nevertheless, she just got a DUI with her dog in
- 7:55Speaker 5: the car.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Driving into someone's property. Yes. You know what I mean?
- 7:59Speaker 5: And it's, you know, not the first time she's had
- 8:02Speaker 5: issues with alcohol. Right. And I'm sorry, it's just like, yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 5: it was awful of them to put her on that,
- 8:11Speaker 5: to put Alexis to add onto that. I totally agree
- 8:14Speaker 5: with that.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I know how diabolical things like that are.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Dude, OC specifically loves to terrorize their cast. You know
- 8:21Speaker 5: what I mean? And her specifically. Shannon is a fascinating
- 8:24Speaker 5: case because it's one of the most fascinating cases of
- 8:26Speaker 5: like Stockholm syndrome I think we've ever seen on reality
- 8:29Speaker 5: TV because she hates that show. She hates doing the show.
- 8:33Speaker 5: fucking day she's like resents the fact that she has
- 8:36Speaker 5: to be there but she loves being famous she loves
- 8:40Speaker 5: the perks that come along with that and she loves
- 8:43Speaker 5: the check obviously and not only that but she needs
- 8:45Speaker 5: that check like she needs it and so she offers
- 8:49Speaker 5: herself up to do that and they also protect her
- 8:55Speaker 5: so they don't show her at her very very worst
- 8:57Speaker 5: because there's footage of Shannon that is much worse than
- 8:59Speaker 5: you've ever seen on the show And they don't show
- 9:02Speaker 5: that because they have to, like, protect her just enough
- 9:06Speaker 5: so that she'll come back the next season. Because if
- 9:08Speaker 5: they show everything and make her look like an absolute
- 9:10Speaker 5: monster and then the public completely turns on her, she's
- 9:14Speaker 5: not going to come back because, like, you know, there's
- 9:15Speaker 5: only so much a person can take. So they protect
- 9:18Speaker 5: her a little bit. They show her being crazy, show
- 9:20Speaker 5: her some stuff. Then they show her being funny. Then
- 9:22Speaker 5: they show the boop-a-doop-a-doop, you know, her knocking the things
- 9:25Speaker 5: over and everything. And then that gets the audience to laugh.
- 9:30Speaker 5: And so they like her and then that makes her
- 9:31Speaker 5: feel good. She's like, okay. All right, maybe I can
- 9:34Speaker 5: put up with it for another year. You know what
- 9:35Speaker 5: I mean? Because there are those people that like that.
- 9:38Speaker 5: But I think that like the mask has been slipping
- 9:41Speaker 5: and people aren't buying that anymore. You know what I mean?
- 9:44Speaker 5: Because it's coming through. You have like Joel Kim Booster
- 9:47Speaker 5: going on a rant of what happened.
- 9:48Speaker 4: And he was the host of the Love Hotel.
- 9:50Speaker 5: And then he retracted and apologized later, which he was
- 9:53Speaker 5: most definitely pressured to do.
- 9:55Speaker 3: And in that one where he criticized her for behaving
- 9:58Speaker 3: poorly and treating people badly.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Poorly. When I heard that, I was like, every single
- 10:02Speaker 5: word he said is true. I've seen her do it
- 10:04Speaker 5: multiple times.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Right.
- 10:05Speaker 5: You had Katie Janela who filmed her, one of her meltdowns, right?
- 10:10Speaker 4: On like a photo shoot.
- 10:11Speaker 5: I think it was like, yeah. It was like on
- 10:13Speaker 5: the cast photo, I think, which I was there that day.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 10:17Speaker 5: And Shannon was going crazy.
- 10:19Speaker 4: What was she going crazy about?
- 10:21Speaker 5: Who knows? It was so something. By that time, I
- 10:24Speaker 5: had tuned her out. I didn't even go into her room.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Wait, let me just ask some questions. Is it just
- 10:29Speaker 3: like a diva situation? Like she comes there and she's
- 10:32Speaker 3: stressed and something doesn't fit or her makeup artist is late.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Like what is it that for a regular.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Person that's not Shannon would– handle it in a more
- 10:44Speaker 3: calm manner, but for whatever reason, she's like diva-ish. Is
- 10:47Speaker 3: it like diva behavior of a reality star?
- 10:50Speaker 5: Yes, it is. Okay, you want to know the very
- 10:52Speaker 5: first day that I shot at her house, we shoot
- 10:55Speaker 5: the scene. And like, you know, you always kind of
- 10:59Speaker 5: keep rolling at the end. You know, you got everything
- 11:00Speaker 5: you needed, but you like, you keep rolling to see
- 11:02Speaker 5: what they're going to do. And sometimes you get great
- 11:04Speaker 5: moments at the end. And we had kind of gone
- 11:06Speaker 5: through everything that we had talked about was going to
- 11:08Speaker 5: be in that scene. And she's like, are we done?
- 11:11Speaker 4: Okay, we're done.
- 11:12Speaker 5: We're stopped. Filming should be stopped. No one's filming, right?
- 11:15Speaker 5: You're not filming. She looks right into the camera. You're
- 11:17Speaker 5: not filming. And it's like, girl, we'll just walk out
- 11:21Speaker 5: of the room then. You know what I mean? And
- 11:24Speaker 5: so she then, she's like, I've got to go to dinner.
- 11:27Speaker 5: I'm having dinner. So she gets on the phone. She
- 11:30Speaker 5: calls up some restaurant. And she's like, hi, hello. Yes,
- 11:33Speaker 5: this is Shannon Medora from The Real Housewives of Arizona. Yes, I'll.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Hold. Yes.
- 11:38Speaker 5: This is Shannon Bedore from the Real Housewives of Orange County.
- 11:41Speaker 5: I need to make a reservation. We're going to be
- 11:42Speaker 5: there in 30 minutes for a table for two. And
- 11:44Speaker 5: for the love of God, do not put us in
- 11:46Speaker 5: the front table again. Everybody was gawking at us the
- 11:49Speaker 5: last time. Please put us in the back so we
- 11:51Speaker 5: can have a nice dinner. Like, this is like the very,
- 11:53Speaker 5: I was like, the fact that she introduced herself as
- 11:56Speaker 5: Shannon Bedore from the Real Housewives of Orange County, not once,
- 11:59Speaker 5: but twice on like a 30 second phone call. I
- 12:01Speaker 5: was like. Yikes, lady. And then I proceeded to work
- 12:06Speaker 5: with her for, you know, four more months and see
- 12:08Speaker 5: her move through the world like that constantly.
- 12:11Speaker 4: So I have another question. So for other.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Cast members, like Tamara, who's been on longer than she,
- 12:20Speaker 3: 18 years, whatever. you know, who is, you know, pretty professional,
- 12:26Speaker 3: I've heard, you know, easygoing with the crew. Also, I
- 12:29Speaker 3: do think she's a producer's delight. She will bring it
- 12:32Speaker 3: when it has to be brought. She will make herself
- 12:35Speaker 3: look like a bitch if that's what the scene needs. Like,
- 12:37Speaker 3: I get all that. Does the underlying friendship break up
- 12:43Speaker 3: between them? The trace amigos, that they didn't want to
- 12:46Speaker 3: do their stupid, where the trace amigos thing at Urban
- 12:49Speaker 3: Improv anymore. I understand why that would fall apart. But
- 12:52Speaker 3: The stuff that we don't know because it's confusing because
- 12:55Speaker 3: this whole season is them talking about their friendship and
- 12:58Speaker 3: it's extremely boring as a viewer. But I'm guessing over
- 13:02Speaker 3: the layers of years of things that this probably is
- 13:06Speaker 3: one of the things as someone who doesn't treat the
- 13:09Speaker 3: crew like that but is a witness to it, you know,
- 13:13Speaker 3: that's going to put cracks in your, you know, Dos
- 13:17Speaker 3: Amigos friendship.
- 13:19Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Look, I– I don't agree with a lot of the
- 13:23Speaker 5: things that Tamara does on the show, but in, in
- 13:27Speaker 5: like real life and working with her as a, as a,
- 13:31Speaker 5: as a coworker, she's like lovely. She's a delight to
- 13:34Speaker 5: work with. She's very professional. She shows up on time.
- 13:36Speaker 5: She says, thank you. She like, uh, you know, she
- 13:39Speaker 5: treats people with respect. Uh, like she's talking to the,
- 13:42Speaker 5: you know, the young girls that are like PAs or whatever,
- 13:45Speaker 5: you know what I mean? She's like chit chatting with them.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Shannon is, is that, yeah, she's not like that. Um,
- 13:51Speaker 5: And most of the time she's like kind of melting
- 13:54Speaker 5: down because of some crisis that she's going through. But granted,
- 13:59Speaker 5: like I said, I have empathy for what she was
- 14:01Speaker 5: going through. I filmed this season. That's what she said
- 14:04Speaker 5: with Randy from Scream 2. She was like, you know,
- 14:08Speaker 5: he was there during this season where Alexis Bellino was on,
- 14:11Speaker 5: you know. And granted, yes, I thought it was fucking
- 14:14Speaker 5: crazy that they brought her on.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I guess the excuse would be, It wasn't just bringing
- 14:21Speaker 3: an ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend onto the show.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Alexis had been on before, had a relationship.
- 14:27Speaker 5: But there was never a conversation to bring Alexis back
- 14:29Speaker 5: until she was with John Jansen. And they knew that
- 14:32Speaker 5: it would absolutely terrorize Shannon and they would get great
- 14:34Speaker 5: TV out of it.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Right. At the expense of her mental health.
- 14:38Speaker 3: To give Bravo a little bit of kudos, because I
- 14:42Speaker 3: was ready for years before Alexis and John found love.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I was ready for them to be so diabolical that
- 14:48Speaker 3: they would bring on Leslie Bedore. I was like, when's
- 14:52Speaker 3: that going to happen? And I have to say at
- 14:53Speaker 3: least they didn't do that.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Because that would have really come out of nowhere because
- 14:57Speaker 3: she's not friends with the other cast. She wasn't a
- 14:59Speaker 3: former cast member. Like it would truly just be like
- 15:01Speaker 3: a cruel thing. But I think that Leslie and David's
- 15:05Speaker 3: relationship is so up and down and I don't think
- 15:08Speaker 3: she was ever up for it. But sometimes I would
- 15:09Speaker 3: see things on social media that look like she would
- 15:12Speaker 3: have been totally down if they would have called.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Leslie Bedore, his second wife.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Well, if she would have been down, I'm sure they
- 15:17Speaker 5: would have done it.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Because, yeah, like they– With her specifically.
- 15:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:22Speaker 5: They, they will, they will do things like that. And it's, it's,
- 15:27Speaker 5: that's all fine. But there's been a lot of people
- 15:29Speaker 5: that have been going, that have gone through hellacious, crazy
- 15:32Speaker 5: things on these shows. And they still like find a
- 15:35Speaker 5: way to treat people with decency and respect, like the
- 15:38Speaker 5: other people that they work with, you know?
- 15:40Speaker 4: So would it.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Be like when you guys are filming stuff and you're just,
- 15:44Speaker 3: you know, and you could be called to Heather Dubrow's
- 15:48Speaker 3: house to whatever, film her redoing her closet. or you
- 15:54Speaker 3: have to be the producer that goes to shannon bedore's
- 15:57Speaker 3: before a small dinner party that she's hosting was it
- 16:01Speaker 3: like producers would be like please please don't give me
- 16:05Speaker 3: that can i please have this assignment.
- 16:06Speaker 5: Over here absolutely there's so many on every housewives cast
- 16:10Speaker 5: there's like you got your good scenes and you got
- 16:12Speaker 5: your bad scenes you're like oh i have a day
- 16:14Speaker 5: with garcelle and crystal like You know what I mean?
- 16:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Or like you got a day with like– you got
- 16:20Speaker 5: a day with Shannon, you know, and– well, Heather like
- 16:23Speaker 5: doesn't even live there. So that's a trek because you
- 16:25Speaker 5: got to go to LA.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 5: But yeah, with Shannon– you get Shannon, a day with Shannon,
- 16:32Speaker 5: you're like, oh, God. You got to walk and talk
- 16:34Speaker 5: with Shannon on the beach or you've got a– we're
- 16:37Speaker 5: going to go get Shannon's breathalyzer installed on her car
- 16:41Speaker 5: because– You had to do that? Dude, that was one
- 16:43Speaker 5: of the craziest times ever. like encounters I ever had
- 16:47Speaker 5: with Shannon. So that was the, I think it was
- 16:51Speaker 5: like my second scene of the day. We get over
- 16:54Speaker 5: to the garage. Cause you know, you get to these
- 16:55Speaker 5: scenes like two hours before the scene starts, you have
- 16:58Speaker 5: an hour of ESU, you're setting up, you know, cameras,
- 17:01Speaker 5: you're setting up lights, kind of running through with the crew.
- 17:03Speaker 5: This is where she's going to walk in. This is
- 17:05Speaker 5: where they're going to have a little meet and greet.
- 17:06Speaker 5: And then they're going to land here and have a conversation.
- 17:08Speaker 5: You know what I mean? You map it all out,
- 17:10Speaker 5: you know? And then when the cast member arrives, you
- 17:13Speaker 5: kind of give them the layout of what you're going
- 17:16Speaker 5: to do, where to go, where to sit. You're going
- 17:17Speaker 5: to sit there. She's going to sit there.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Ask them these questions.
- 17:24Speaker 5: She's going to ask you questions. You're going to set up.
- 17:26Speaker 4: So it's really planned out.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Well, I mean, there's... It's not scripted, but it's planned out.
- 17:30Speaker 4: There's beats, yeah. They always say it's never scripted. It's
- 17:32Speaker 4: very much beat it out. But you know what you're
- 17:33Speaker 4: meeting about for coffee.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Yeah. You know you have to talk about the upcoming
- 17:37Speaker 3: trip or whatever it is.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Right.
- 17:38Speaker 5: So that's typically... We get to this garage where Shannon
- 17:42Speaker 5: is having a breathalyzer device installed on her car because
- 17:46Speaker 5: it was court mandated that if she was going to
- 17:49Speaker 5: be driving... she had to blow into the breathalyzer to
- 17:54Speaker 5: make sure she hadn't been drinking before she got behind
- 17:56Speaker 5: the wheel, which is very typical to, you know, when
- 17:59Speaker 5: you get a DUI or if you've had like multiple
- 18:02Speaker 5: incidents and stuff. And first of all, I'm speaking as this,
- 18:05Speaker 5: like I just celebrated 10 years of being no alcohol free.
- 18:08Speaker 5: You know what I mean? I got a DUI in
- 18:10Speaker 5: my twenties and, Um, I used to be a drug addict. I,
- 18:15Speaker 5: I was a drug addict active in active addiction when
- 18:17Speaker 5: I was filming that show fire Island, you know, I
- 18:19Speaker 5: was high in every frame of that show. So I
- 18:22Speaker 5: very much empathize with someone struggling with something like that.
- 18:26Speaker 3: So let me just ask this, you know, when I
- 18:29Speaker 3: saw the news that she got that DUI, I think
- 18:32Speaker 3: if she was my sister or something, I would have said,
- 18:37Speaker 3: sit the season out.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Take a year off.
- 18:40Speaker 6: Yes.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Come back sober, fit.
- 18:44Speaker 3: You know, and this relationship that you were obviously fighting
- 18:48Speaker 3: that night with your now ex-boyfriend and.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Married to another woman.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Yes.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Like if she would have just removed herself. And that's
- 18:56Speaker 3: where I feel that the addiction of fame.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Honey, yes.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Of these shows where you really didn't pursue acting or
- 19:05Speaker 3: any kind of famous work before you were cast in
- 19:07Speaker 3: your early 40s to be on this show. It's like
- 19:11Speaker 3: all of that combined with an ape-type personality, narcissist traits.
- 19:15Speaker 3: I'm not going to say everyone's a narcissist, but traits.
- 19:19Speaker 3: That is where you couldn't– and the people around you
- 19:22Speaker 3: couldn't say, hey, this is what's best for you. I
- 19:27Speaker 3: know she's not rolling in it. I know she didn't
- 19:29Speaker 3: do great from the divorce or whatever. But it appears
- 19:32Speaker 3: that like she came from money and her dad is
- 19:35Speaker 3: still doing great and alive. So I don't know if–
- 19:38Speaker 3: like how desperate she is for the money. But I
- 19:40Speaker 3: think it is the fame that made her go, okay,
- 19:44Speaker 3: I will do this other humiliating, humiliating, awful season.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Like 1,000%.
- 19:48Speaker 5: It's the, it's the, it's the addiction to the fame
- 19:52Speaker 5: and it's the money. Like I said, so she, like
- 19:55Speaker 5: she despises doing the show. You can, you can see
- 19:58Speaker 5: every time she arrives, she's like, you know, and then
- 20:00Speaker 5: like And then she has to do it because she
- 20:03Speaker 5: needs it. So it's this fascinating case where like- So.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Do you think she is acting like the- Oh my God.
- 20:07Speaker 5: So let me tell you what happened at the breathalyzer place.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Okay.
- 20:11Speaker 5: So I'm there. We're setting it up. I'm talking to
- 20:14Speaker 5: the guys at the garage. We're filming. And it's always like,
- 20:16Speaker 5: they're like, oh God, we're filming a show in here.
- 20:19Speaker 5: You know what I mean? These are guys in like
- 20:21Speaker 5: a parking garage, you know?
- 20:22Speaker 4: Yeah, they're not actors.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Or an auto shop.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 5: And so they're like always kind of like interested of
- 20:26Speaker 5: what's going on. I'm like- And I'm kind of seeing–
- 20:30Speaker 5: I'm just telling them what we're going to do. Like
- 20:31Speaker 5: we're going to have her come in. We're going to
- 20:32Speaker 5: talk about it. We'd love to see her try to
- 20:35Speaker 5: do the thing that's going to start the car. And
- 20:40Speaker 5: the guy tells me that like that's probably not going
- 20:42Speaker 5: to happen because this car that she bought, this brand
- 20:45Speaker 5: new car that she bought is not going to be
- 20:48Speaker 5: compatible with this device. So they weren't going to be
- 20:52Speaker 5: able to install it. This like super expensive Mercedes that
- 20:55Speaker 5: she just bought. That's probably like, you know, let's be honest,
- 20:57Speaker 5: probably out of her budget. You know what I mean?
- 20:59Speaker 5: And she did not have the, you know, wherewithal to
- 21:03Speaker 5: check to see if this would be compatible for this
- 21:06Speaker 5: court ordered device that was going to be used to
- 21:07Speaker 5: start a car. So I knew this, you know what
- 21:10Speaker 5: I mean? But I'm a producer of the show. I'm
- 21:13Speaker 5: not Shannon's friend. You know what I mean? Like you
- 21:15Speaker 5: find out this information, but you're not interfering.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Because in real life, she would come there and do it.
- 21:20Speaker 4: In real life, she would take her new car and
- 21:22Speaker 4: go to the place and find.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Out it's not. So before Shannon was coming to the scene,
- 21:26Speaker 5: she was at the DMV dealing with some kind of
- 21:29Speaker 5: license issue because of the DUI. And the DMV was
- 21:32Speaker 5: like giving her hell. So she's calling me. She's like,
- 21:34Speaker 5: I'm at the DMV and they– forgot to do this
- 21:38Speaker 5: and sent me to the wrong thing. And now, her
- 21:40Speaker 5: friend that's with her, she's like, he's getting a text
- 21:43Speaker 5: from the mechanic and saying they might not be able
- 21:45Speaker 5: to do the breathalyzer. What the fuck is going on?
- 21:48Speaker 5: And I was like, well, Shane, I don't know. You'll
- 21:51Speaker 5: find out when you get here. We'll see what's going
- 21:53Speaker 5: on with the car. She's like, you're going to fucking
- 21:55Speaker 5: tell me. Can they not put that breathalyzer on my
- 21:58Speaker 5: car or not? I just spent fucking $ 60, 000 on this
- 22:01Speaker 5: car and I'm not even going to be able to
- 22:02Speaker 5: use it. Going off on me, I'm like, lady, I
- 22:07Speaker 5: didn't drive your car into a house. You know what
- 22:09Speaker 5: I mean? I'm just here to film you, film your life.
- 22:13Speaker 5: You know what I mean? And I'm certainly not going
- 22:15Speaker 5: to like go check and do you a favor if
- 22:17Speaker 5: you're speaking to me like this. And like, just like
- 22:21Speaker 5: her arrogance and audacity of like speaking to me that
- 22:23Speaker 5: way was like, you go check to see if this
- 22:27Speaker 5: is going to work or not. Because if it's not
- 22:29Speaker 5: going to work, I'm not coming over there. If we're
- 22:30Speaker 5: not going to be able to do this, I'm not
- 22:32Speaker 5: coming over there. And so like, Right.
- 22:33Speaker 4: It's like you are the... I'm the observer.
- 22:36Speaker 5: I'm the observer.
- 22:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 5: I'm the observer. I'm not the participant. Not the personal assistant.
- 22:40Speaker 5: As much as possible.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:42Speaker 5: There's been times where you get pulled in. You know
- 22:45Speaker 5: what I mean?
- 22:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:45Speaker 5: A hot clutch swings a pole in your face or
- 22:47Speaker 5: you know what I mean? Or something. Yeah. You get
- 22:48Speaker 5: pulled in, you know?
- 22:50Speaker 7: But.
- 22:51Speaker 5: I'm an observer. So I'm not going to go do
- 22:52Speaker 5: that for you. So I told her that multiple times.
- 22:56Speaker 5: And she was like, I can't believe you're doing this
- 22:58Speaker 5: to me. And then now I have to go film
- 22:59Speaker 5: with Cameron. I can't believe it. Like she's just like unraveling.
- 23:03Speaker 5: And so I was like, you guys, when Shannon arrives,
- 23:06Speaker 5: she is going to be unraveling. I want cameras up
- 23:11Speaker 5: and I want a boom up because we're not going
- 23:13Speaker 5: to have like be able to mic her because she's
- 23:16Speaker 5: going to come in super hot. And I'm going to
- 23:19Speaker 5: film that. You know what I mean? And sure as shit,
- 23:22Speaker 5: she did. That car came pulling up into the parking lot.
- 23:25Speaker 5: We were outside, cameras up, ready to go. And she came,
- 23:29Speaker 5: rolled the window down. Is it going to work or not?
- 23:31Speaker 5: Is it going to work or not? Because I'm not
- 23:32Speaker 5: doing this.
- 23:32Speaker 7: It's not going to work.
- 23:33Speaker 5: You know what I mean? And she's like yelling at
- 23:35Speaker 5: me from the car before they've even turned into the thing.
- 23:38Speaker 5: And I was like, oh, my God. She gets there
- 23:40Speaker 5: and she's like, is this going to work? Is this
- 23:42Speaker 5: going to work on my car or not? Because I
- 23:45Speaker 5: am not doing it. And I'm like, we're going to
- 23:46Speaker 5: find out when we get in. We're going to find out.
- 23:47Speaker 5: Let's mic her up. Mic her up. Yep. Shannon, we're
- 23:49Speaker 5: going to find out. It's okay. Calm down. She's like,
- 23:51Speaker 5: don't tell me to calm down. And I was like, okay, okay.
- 23:53Speaker 5: And then like, and she's just getting more and more.
- 23:56Speaker 5: And I was like, all right, Shannon, I'm just trying
- 23:58Speaker 5: to get the crew to get their thing. And I'm
- 23:59Speaker 5: like going to back up and just let her go
- 24:01Speaker 5: because I'm not going to like participate in this with her.
- 24:05Speaker 5: And so I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you're
- 24:07Speaker 5: going to find out when you get in there.
- 24:08Speaker 7: Yep.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't know if it's going to
- 24:09Speaker 5: work or not. You're going to find out. And I
- 24:11Speaker 5: was like, just calm down, Shannon. She's like, don't tell
- 24:13Speaker 5: me to calm down. Stop telling me to calm down.
- 24:15Speaker 5: And I was like, okay, let's just calm down. She's like,
- 24:19Speaker 5: if you tell me to come down one more time
- 24:20Speaker 5: and she's like you want me to go film with
- 24:22Speaker 5: Tamara Judge tonight because every single one of you when
- 24:25Speaker 5: Tamara Judge says jump you say how fucking high and
- 24:29Speaker 5: then I gotta go film a.
- 24:30Speaker 6: Fucking scene with Tamara you know and then so it
- 24:32Speaker 6: was just like oh my god I was like you
- 24:34Speaker 6: good she's my alright going in going in Shannon and
- 24:37Speaker 6: then she like turns to like go to go into
- 24:40Speaker 6: the the shop and.
- 24:42Speaker 5: She's just like sigh hi I'm I'm here to pick
- 24:48Speaker 5: up my car. You know what I mean? And then
- 24:50Speaker 5: she like turns it on and then like the guy's like, yeah,
- 24:52Speaker 5: come back this way. And then she like cracks a
- 24:54Speaker 5: joke and then she's like, oh, okay. And then she's like,
- 24:57Speaker 5: and then she bumps into that little, like the thing
- 24:59Speaker 5: you were making fun of, of that, like just barmy
- 25:02Speaker 5: little like, yeah. And then they're doing it. Cause I
- 25:07Speaker 5: had then, I told the guy, this isn't going to work.
- 25:11Speaker 5: The people then, the breathalyzer people got involved because they
- 25:14Speaker 5: were like, this is going to look like shoddy for us.
- 25:17Speaker 5: Like the thing doesn't work. You know what I mean?
- 25:19Speaker 5: And so they were very like concerned about the whole thing.
- 25:23Speaker 5: And it was just like a fucking mess. So I
- 25:25Speaker 5: was like, just fucking act like you're going to, you're
- 25:28Speaker 5: going to blow it in. Just if this were to work,
- 25:31Speaker 5: show her if it were to work, you know what
- 25:33Speaker 5: I mean? And so she ends up doing the whole
- 25:35Speaker 5: scene and then they're like blowing in the breathalyzer and,
- 25:38Speaker 5: and everything. And I had hoped that when we left that,
- 25:42Speaker 5: because look, I have like been around addicts who have
- 25:46Speaker 5: lost everything, driven their cars, killed people, and they've taken
- 25:50Speaker 5: accountability and they have gotten clean or gotten sober and
- 25:54Speaker 5: they live a life of service and helping other addicts
- 25:57Speaker 5: to not do the same things they did and stuff.
- 26:00Speaker 5: And so, you know, I've been around a lot of
- 26:01Speaker 5: people who've been so accountable for their actions, you know?
- 26:04Speaker 5: And so I kind of hope that maybe like when
- 26:05Speaker 5: she watched back this thing, Of like how she behaved
- 26:10Speaker 5: when she came to face the consequences of her own actions.
- 26:14Speaker 5: The only reason she was there at that breathalyzer place
- 26:16Speaker 5: was because she drove her car into the house. Like
- 26:18Speaker 5: you shouldn't drink and drive. Lady, you've got enough money
- 26:20Speaker 5: for an Uber. You know what I mean? So like
- 26:22Speaker 5: take an Uber. And so she did that and she
- 26:24Speaker 5: wanted to blame everyone else for this thing that was
- 26:27Speaker 5: super frustrating and not going to work out. She wanted
- 26:29Speaker 5: to blame me. See, I knew it wasn't about me,
- 26:32Speaker 5: but she wanted to blame everyone but herself for what
- 26:34Speaker 5: was happening there. And I think that that's the way
- 26:37Speaker 5: she moves through the world. And that's why, although I
- 26:40Speaker 5: have a lot of, you know, understanding and compassion for
- 26:43Speaker 5: the addiction struggle and everything, I don't have, I draw
- 26:46Speaker 5: the line at like disrespecting people and just thinking you
- 26:49Speaker 5: are above everyone around you.
- 26:51Speaker 4: AI is everywhere, but ROI isn't. At PWC, we turn
- 26:57Speaker 4: AI into advantage. so you can see results, not hype.
- 27:07Speaker 7: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 27:10Speaker 7: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 27:13Speaker 7: have faced tremendous setbacks, and yet somehow have found a
- 27:18Speaker 7: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 27:24Speaker 4: the Emmys, and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 27:27Speaker 1: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 27:29Speaker 1: what would you do if it was given back?
- 27:31Speaker 7: Where did that need come from, where you thought that
- 27:34Speaker 7: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 27:37Speaker 5: He said, I have a work dad.
- 27:38Speaker 7: I need a home dad.
- 27:39Speaker 5: What happens next? When I came in, he started crying.
- 27:42Speaker 7: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 27:46Speaker 7: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 27:49Speaker 7: happens next.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I decided to risk it all.
- 27:51Speaker 4: I realized how valuable every day was.
- 27:53Speaker 5: You're worth the work.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 27:56Speaker 4: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 27:59Speaker 7: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 28:02Speaker 7: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 28:12Speaker 3: Okay, so, I mean, that makes a lot of sense
- 28:15Speaker 3: about kind of about this season now.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Because, you know, in watching the edited season of 19,
- 28:22Speaker 3: which you were not on that one.
- 28:25Speaker 5: That was the, yeah. Yeah, so you're... Where they iced
- 28:28Speaker 5: Katie Janela out.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Of the show, yeah. Yes, and then, but also....
- 28:33Speaker 3: You know, it was Tamara bringing up the DUI and
- 28:38Speaker 3: the alcohol a lot. And I think when we see
- 28:40Speaker 3: the edited version as a viewer at home, it's kind
- 28:43Speaker 3: of like.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Tamara's being too hard on her. Yeah, being too hard
- 28:46Speaker 4: on her.
- 28:46Speaker 5: But she was telling the truth.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Yes, right. So wait, wait, wait.
- 28:49Speaker 3: So then, so we see that. And then, but now
- 28:52Speaker 3: this season is just chronically boring.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Like, because... I mean, people aren't even.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Like watching it to talk about it because it's like
- 29:02Speaker 3: taking people like.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Three times to get through.
- 29:04Speaker 3: And I think Tamra's, I mean, they are all tired
- 29:07Speaker 3: of doing it, honestly. I don't think anyone is like,
- 29:10Speaker 3: you know, in real life, you wouldn't be hanging out.
- 29:13Speaker 3: with these people anymore as adult women. You don't have to.
- 29:16Speaker 3: If your kids are no longer friends, if you're no
- 29:18Speaker 3: longer at school with these women, if they're no longer
- 29:21Speaker 3: in your pickleball or Mahjong group, you're probably not going
- 29:24Speaker 3: to make plans with them again. And so six months
- 29:27Speaker 3: will go by when they're not filming. And then it's like, hey,
- 29:30Speaker 3: let's now talk and have dinner again. And I get
- 29:34Speaker 3: it because it's a TV show. And I've made that
- 29:36Speaker 3: reference when I've had friend fallouts and stuff. And I'll
- 29:39Speaker 3: be like, I don't need to see this bitch again.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I'm not being paid by Bravo to see them again.
- 29:43Speaker 3: I understand, like, why. But yeah, this season is just,
- 29:48Speaker 3: it's not clicking. But you brought up that Heather Dubrow,
- 29:51Speaker 3: you know, doesn't live in the OC. And of course,
- 29:53Speaker 3: Vicky is being all mean to the new girl, Carmella.
- 29:56Speaker 4: Because she's like, why... You don't live in the OC!
- 29:59Speaker 3: You know, and basically Carmela says in the scene, she goes,
- 30:03Speaker 3: I'm here because I have a job. And the job
- 30:06Speaker 3: is being on the TV show without saying it's on
- 30:08Speaker 3: the TV. She tries to say it's, oh, I sell
- 30:11Speaker 3: real estate with the tiny twins, the Oppenheimers in the OC,
- 30:14Speaker 3: but I also have a house in San Diego. And
- 30:18Speaker 3: it's like, well, you'd be selling houses in San Diego.
- 30:20Speaker 3: It's the same license, whether you're, oh, it's a California license. So,
- 30:24Speaker 3: but I get it. It's a casting thing. So in
- 30:26Speaker 3: casting- Does that ever really.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Matter at this point?
- 30:31Speaker 3: I know people that live in the county are mad
- 30:33Speaker 3: whenever someone's cast who doesn't live in the county. But
- 30:36Speaker 3: it's one of those like reality things that nobody at
- 30:40Speaker 3: home cares if you live there or not. Yeah.
- 30:43Speaker 5: I don't think they care if you live there or not.
- 30:44Speaker 5: I think they care if you're just like interesting and
- 30:46Speaker 5: they care if you're authentic. Like the most important thing
- 30:51Speaker 5: for these shows, in my opinion, is like strong pre-existing
- 30:55Speaker 5: relationships that are genuine. You know what I mean? Because
- 30:59Speaker 5: if you are just coworkers and you're just there specifically
- 31:03Speaker 5: for that, it becomes less interesting.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Because it's just not as real. And that's why Salt
- 31:09Speaker 5: Lake City has been firing so hard on all cylinders.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Which is great. Because they had a lot of pre-existing
- 31:15Speaker 5: relationships there. That's why the original Roni was so good.
- 31:19Speaker 5: They had a lot of pre-existing relationships. Right.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 31:21Speaker 5: Vanderpump Rules. All of those kids had these pre-existing relationships.
- 31:25Speaker 5: And that's what made this really compelling movie. story you
- 31:28Speaker 5: know yeah um so you just don't have it there
- 31:31Speaker 5: and like right uh i don't know i have not
- 31:34Speaker 5: been watching uh oc um like i watched a little
- 31:38Speaker 5: bit of the last season like uh the one with
- 31:41Speaker 5: the katie janela's last season but i was just bored
- 31:43Speaker 5: you know what i mean it was not interesting so
- 31:45Speaker 5: i like stopped after a few episodes because look i'm
- 31:48Speaker 5: not like i'm not a hater on the shows like
- 31:50Speaker 5: i I've watched Atlanta. I thought Atlanta was great this season.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:55Speaker 5: I think they've really got something good going there.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Before you get into Atlanta, because that was a show
- 31:59Speaker 3: you also worked in, I want to just talk a
- 32:01Speaker 3: little bit about The Ultimate Girls Trip.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Because that aired last night, and I was at that.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Party and got to see all the different players in it.
- 32:12Speaker 3: And sometimes people, because I've been personal friends with them
- 32:15Speaker 3: and been doing this for so long and had housewives
- 32:17Speaker 3: on the show, sometimes people will be like, would you
- 32:19Speaker 3: ever be a housewife or whatever? And I know I'm
- 32:22Speaker 3: never on their radar because it wouldn't make sense because
- 32:24Speaker 3: I'm too like inside baseball. But I had my own
- 32:28Speaker 3: weird weekend that could have been something if there was
- 32:31Speaker 3: a real housewives of standup comedy.
- 32:34Speaker 4: Okay. So this is what happened. And I just think
- 32:38Speaker 4: this is such a housewife type of thing.
- 32:39Speaker 3: I'm at pickleball and I start seeing messages from people,
- 32:44Speaker 3: very housewife. So, and I start getting messages from people
- 32:47Speaker 3: who are in a show of another very much more
- 32:51Speaker 3: famous comedian, Nikki Glaser was doing standup. And the first
- 32:56Speaker 3: thing I see is she just did your Drew Barrymore
- 33:01Speaker 3: lash blast mascara bit.
- 33:04Speaker 4: And I'm like, what?
- 33:05Speaker 3: And as a comedian, that's like a really big deal.
- 33:07Speaker 3: And so you're like, and especially when it's a more
- 33:10Speaker 3: famous comedian, it's like, you immediately think like, oh shit,
- 33:15Speaker 3: you know, If I open Hulu six months from now
- 33:19Speaker 3: and my bit is on the show, on her special, like,
- 33:23Speaker 3: I'm fucked. Like, there's nothing I can do. She's the
- 33:25Speaker 3: more famous, more popular.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Yeah, there should be credit for that.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and they'll just be like, this was so funny.
- 33:30Speaker 3: And then if I try to say, wait, I did
- 33:31Speaker 3: it first, they'll be like, shut up, you old hag.
- 33:34Speaker 4: She did it better.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Like, it's just a thing. So I was like, wait,
- 33:37Speaker 3: this can't. So I write back these people. Did she
- 33:40Speaker 3: just do an impression of Drew Barrymore? Because yes, I'm
- 33:43Speaker 3: kind of the originator of it, but a lot of
- 33:44Speaker 3: people can do impressions of her. No, she did the
- 33:47Speaker 3: exact parody commercial that you did with the punchline and everything.
- 33:51Speaker 3: I inquire and I'm like, oh my God, this is crazy.
- 33:55Speaker 3: And I remember that it was in my 2014 standup special,
- 34:00Speaker 3: which was on Showtime and Netflix. But I don't have
- 34:04Speaker 3: the clip cut or anything, but I'm like, I have
- 34:06Speaker 3: to get it out now. So So that, you know,
- 34:09Speaker 3: she doesn't do it anymore. Like here's video evidence that
- 34:12Speaker 3: I did at first.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Don't do it anymore.
- 34:13Speaker 3: So then I have to find the DVD. I have
- 34:15Speaker 3: to go to a place to cut it and I
- 34:18Speaker 3: post it. And I'm like, clearly she'll, I'll hear from
- 34:21Speaker 3: her and she'll say, wow, like this was a mix up.
- 34:24Speaker 3: I hired a writer who brought this to me. I
- 34:26Speaker 3: had no idea you did something so similar or because
- 34:30Speaker 3: I was like, it'd be pretty weird that she came
- 34:32Speaker 3: up with this parody when Drew stopped being a spokesperson
- 34:35Speaker 3: for CoverGirl in 2014 and the commercial hasn't aired since
- 34:40Speaker 3: like 2013, 14. So what would make someone write this
- 34:44Speaker 3: in 2026? Like it just is, but I'm like, huh,
- 34:47Speaker 3: but you know, she's, I like her. I've only praised her. Like,
- 34:52Speaker 3: I think we would be great friends if we knew
- 34:54Speaker 3: each other better.
- 34:55Speaker 4: Like what, what?
- 34:56Speaker 3: So I, I DM the video to her and it
- 34:59Speaker 3: goes on scene, but she never responds.
- 35:03Speaker 4: And so 24 hours go by, 48 hours go by.
- 35:06Speaker 4: And I'm like, oh my God.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Well, you know, a lot of people, when I famously
- 35:12Speaker 3: fainted on stage at Tempe Improv, some people think I died.
- 35:15Speaker 3: I'm like, maybe she thought I was dead and she
- 35:18Speaker 3: got a DM from a ghost and she threw her
- 35:20Speaker 3: phone and was terrified because I'm not nearly as relevant
- 35:24Speaker 3: as she is.
- 35:24Speaker 4: So like, I'm just trying to give her grace because
- 35:26Speaker 4: I am such a fan of hers, you know?
- 35:28Speaker 5: She's like, it's fine, she's dead.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah, but then I was like, oh my God, what
- 35:30Speaker 3: if there was a Real Housewives of standup comedy? And
- 35:34Speaker 3: it was like, now we have to meet or I.
- 35:38Speaker 4: Talk to the other.
- 35:39Speaker 5: So you need to address this problem with her.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Yes, I have Brainy and Julie come on and they
- 35:42Speaker 3: tell me their advice and, what could it be? And
- 35:45Speaker 3: was it a misunderstanding? Was somebody didn't, somebody wrote it
- 35:48Speaker 3: for her? It wasn't her stuff. She would never consciously
- 35:50Speaker 3: take it.
- 35:51Speaker 4: I don't know. And, but you know, you don't want
- 35:53Speaker 4: to look like a bitter old bitch calling someone out.
- 35:56Speaker 3: So that's kind of what I, like, I was like,
- 35:58Speaker 3: you know, well, maybe we just end it in beautiful gowns.
- 36:01Speaker 4: We're both leggy girls.
- 36:03Speaker 3: We do like a sequence and like Andy's there and we,
- 36:06Speaker 3: we hash out the beef and, and we have to
- 36:08Speaker 3: make out because we're Going to do another season and
- 36:11Speaker 3: we have to meet at the coffee place in Laguna.
- 36:14Speaker 4: You know?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Yep.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Yep.
- 36:15Speaker 5: You're going to have to find a way to move forward.
- 36:17Speaker 7: Right.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 36:18Speaker 5: So you're going to have to talk to another friend
- 36:21Speaker 5: about it and get her advice.
- 36:23Speaker 4: We'll send– Tammy Pescatelli.
- 36:25Speaker 5: Okay. Yeah.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Great.
- 36:26Speaker 5: We'll send Nikki to talk to somebody, one of her friends.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:29Speaker 5: So she can tell her friend how– She would never
- 36:31Speaker 5: do that. Right, right, right. Yeah, yeah. And then we
- 36:34Speaker 5: would amp it up to when you all will ultimately
- 36:36Speaker 5: meet in an all-cast event.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Yes.
- 36:38Speaker 5: And then before you come in, we'll prep you with
- 36:40Speaker 5: all the things that you should ask her.
- 36:42Speaker 6: Okay.
- 36:43Speaker 5: And then before Nikki comes in, we'll prep her all
- 36:44Speaker 5: the things she should ask you. Decide kind of where
- 36:48Speaker 5: you are– Where are you going to go with it?
- 36:50Speaker 4: Right, right, yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 5: Are you going to be apologetic? Are you going to
- 36:54Speaker 5: fucking dig your heels in the sand? And are we
- 36:56Speaker 5: going to stretch this out three more episodes? You know
- 36:58Speaker 5: what I mean? Are we taking this to the reunion?
- 37:00Speaker 3: And me, as a regular Real Housewives of stand-up comedy,
- 37:03Speaker 3: I know that right now the fan base is much
- 37:08Speaker 3: more in love with her.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Than they are of me.
- 37:10Speaker 3: So now you have that, right, with the housewives that
- 37:12Speaker 3: know that the person that they kind of have an
- 37:15Speaker 3: issue with.
- 37:16Speaker 5: Yeah, you're like coming for the OG.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Yeah, is way more popular and like great, you know,
- 37:21Speaker 3: and I've kind of had my people, I have a great,
- 37:25Speaker 3: you know, supportive Juicy Scooper audience, but you know, there's
- 37:28Speaker 3: some people that are like, I don't like that old bitch.
- 37:30Speaker 3: And so I have to like tread lightly so that
- 37:33Speaker 3: I still get the audience on my side.
- 37:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 37:35Speaker 4: But then I also really like her, so I still
- 37:37Speaker 4: want to be her friend.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:39Speaker 5: Yeah. Well, you're going to have to find a way
- 37:41Speaker 5: to move forward. And, you know, if she doesn't admit
- 37:47Speaker 5: to it and if she's not willing to talk to
- 37:49Speaker 5: you about it, then one of you just may have
- 37:52Speaker 5: to be put on pause, you know?
- 37:53Speaker 4: Oh, and let's talk about put on pause.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Whether a show is on pause or a person is
- 37:59Speaker 3: put on pause, you as a producer, what is your
- 38:01Speaker 3: opinion of that new verbiage?
- 38:04Speaker 5: Well, it's not new. It's been around for quite some
- 38:08Speaker 5: time internally. But the entire concept of being put on pause,
- 38:13Speaker 5: whether it's a show being put on pause now, we
- 38:15Speaker 5: have like an entire show, like Real Housewives of Miami,
- 38:18Speaker 5: being put on pause instead of being canceled. But the
- 38:22Speaker 5: entire concept of a person being put on pause is
- 38:25Speaker 5: a very carefully crafted corporate buzzword. that is strategically used
- 38:31Speaker 5: to manipulate, control, and prevent fired cast members from speaking
- 38:38Speaker 5: out about any mistreatment or problematic situations that they may
- 38:42Speaker 5: have faced while filming a Bravo show. And it works.
- 38:47Speaker 5: And let me tell you why. And that's because fame
- 38:50Speaker 5: is a hell of a drug, like you just said.
- 38:52Speaker 5: So being put on pause instead of, we're gonna let
- 38:55Speaker 5: you go, you know what I mean? It's like, we're
- 38:57Speaker 5: gonna put you on pause this, you know, We'll jump
- 38:59Speaker 5: pause the season, take a season or two off, let
- 39:02Speaker 5: things cool off and we'll reassess in a year or
- 39:04Speaker 5: two and see where we're at. So they dangle the
- 39:07Speaker 5: carrot of possibility of a return in front of these people.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Like stay in line.
- 39:13Speaker 5: These people who are going through the emotional, like fucking
- 39:17Speaker 5: shattering feeling that they're losing this, like- the table at
- 39:22Speaker 5: the restaurant that they can call and get, or the,
- 39:24Speaker 5: you know what I mean, the, people taking pictures of
- 39:27Speaker 5: them at the events and they're filming.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Or even I'm sure the– All of it feels good.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Or even the extra side money of brand deals.
- 39:33Speaker 5: Yeah, the check. All of it.
- 39:34Speaker 4: The brand deals might be less.
- 39:35Speaker 5: So they're going through the realization that they're losing that, right?
- 39:42Speaker 5: And then they're dangled like– We could bring you back
- 39:45Speaker 5: as a friend in a year or two. You know
- 39:46Speaker 5: what I mean? So they dangle that possibility. Most of
- 39:48Speaker 5: the time, that's not going to ever happen. But they
- 39:51Speaker 5: dangle it in front of everyone to stop them from
- 39:54Speaker 5: speaking out once they leave the show. And it fucking works, man.
- 39:57Speaker 5: It works. Until you get someone who's pushed past the
- 40:01Speaker 5: point of no return and they know, like, they're never
- 40:02Speaker 5: fucking having me back. Let me speak the truth. And
- 40:05Speaker 5: that's when you start hearing the truth from people like
- 40:07Speaker 5: a Brandy or a Leah McSweeney. And say what you
- 40:10Speaker 5: want about those people. I know a lot of people
- 40:12Speaker 5: don't like them. But what they have to say matters.
- 40:17Speaker 5: And they went through this thing at the hands of
- 40:20Speaker 5: this machine and they got chewed up and spit out.
- 40:24Speaker 5: And so if we're going to celebrate 20 years of
- 40:26Speaker 5: Housewives and look back on all these things and hear
- 40:29Speaker 5: these stories, I think that if you're going to really
- 40:32Speaker 5: do that accurately, you have to look at some of
- 40:34Speaker 5: these women who have been chewed up and spit out
- 40:36Speaker 5: by this franchise.
- 40:38Speaker 3: I mean, so what if someone is now faced with
- 40:42Speaker 3: being on a show like this, whether it's Housewives or
- 40:45Speaker 3: a new Hulu show or you're a cute mom in
- 40:47Speaker 3: San Diego and a production company goes– you know, we're
- 40:51Speaker 3: putting together San Diego moms or whatever, but you basically
- 40:56Speaker 3: know it's the formula of housewives. Right. And, but you
- 41:00Speaker 3: want to do it because you have an eyelash business
- 41:03Speaker 3: and your husband was a former baseball player and you're
- 41:06Speaker 3: already putting your life on social media anyway.
- 41:09Speaker 4: So this will jump you to the next level.
- 41:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:12Speaker 3: But then, you know, this other dark side that you
- 41:14Speaker 3: just described where you're gambling because you aren't Chris Jenner.
- 41:18Speaker 4: You don't control the edit.
- 41:20Speaker 5: Right.
- 41:20Speaker 3: So what would be your advice before they say yes
- 41:25Speaker 3: or no?
- 41:26Speaker 5: Before they say yes to someone doing this?
- 41:28Speaker 4: Something like that, yeah.
- 41:30Speaker 5: Oh, God. I would be like, be careful what you
- 41:32Speaker 5: wish for. Be careful what you wish for. Because if
- 41:36Speaker 5: you have anything about your life that you are trying
- 41:40Speaker 5: to keep secret, Or if there's anything about your life
- 41:44Speaker 5: that you would be uncomfortable with the entire world knowing
- 41:48Speaker 5: and talking about and tweeting you about and tagging you
- 41:50Speaker 5: in it for the rest of your life. If there's
- 41:53Speaker 5: anything like that, then you should not do this. You know,
- 41:57Speaker 5: but people, that doesn't matter. People like the allure of
- 42:00Speaker 5: it is too strong. And so with these shows... Housewives specifically,
- 42:05Speaker 5: I mean, Housewives is a fucking juggernaut franchise. It's worldwide,
- 42:10Speaker 5: you know, as Candy Burris would say. Like there's other franchises,
- 42:14Speaker 5: other countries and other like all this stuff because it
- 42:17Speaker 5: started as something that was really compelling to watch. Real
- 42:21Speaker 5: like Housewives and like, we've never seen these people on
- 42:23Speaker 5: TV before. But then I think somewhere along the way,
- 42:26Speaker 5: we lost the most important part of the title. And
- 42:28Speaker 5: that's real, you know? Right.
- 42:30Speaker 3: And as someone that, you know, I remember seeing the
- 42:33Speaker 3: poster like in an Enquirer. of the Real Housewives OC
- 42:38Speaker 3: and them holding an orange and I immediately got the
- 42:40Speaker 3: parody of Desperate Housewives and I immediately thought, oh my God,
- 42:44Speaker 3: I can't wait to.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Watch this show.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I was always a fan of reality show back in
- 42:47Speaker 3: the real world days when that first started. So I
- 42:49Speaker 3: loved the genre, I loved the format, I loved documentaries
- 42:54Speaker 3: even when I was young before there were a million
- 42:55Speaker 3: documentaries a week, like I loved that.
- 42:58Speaker 5: The first season of Beverly Hills is some of the
- 43:00Speaker 5: most compelling television of all time. You know what I mean?
- 43:03Speaker 4: Of all time. It's so great.
- 43:04Speaker 3: And that's always a thing when someone's like, oh, my God,
- 43:06Speaker 3: I'm so jealous that you're just starting it now. And
- 43:09Speaker 3: I love that about Peacock.
- 43:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 3: But when you said about the rest of your lives,
- 43:13Speaker 3: when you look at Vicky, and she revealed that her
- 43:17Speaker 3: son lives in Spain. He hasn't seen his sister in
- 43:20Speaker 3: person for eight years who lives in Oklahoma.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Neither of them live in the OC. They both were
- 43:26Speaker 3: thrown on this show in teenage years and had things
- 43:32Speaker 3: that have haunted them. With Brianna, her situation when her
- 43:37Speaker 3: husband was mean to Lydia's mom for putting her feet
- 43:42Speaker 3: on the Yeah. That all just came up again.
- 43:45Speaker 5: Right.
- 43:45Speaker 3: And, you know, it's pretty hard to completely avoid social
- 43:48Speaker 3: media altogether. So then you wake up one day and
- 43:51Speaker 3: now all these comments are coming after under your.
- 43:54Speaker 4: Trip to Disneyland.
- 43:55Speaker 5: Be careful what you wish for.
- 43:56Speaker 4: And you're like.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Jesus, like I'm not on the show. I'm not doing interviews.
- 44:01Speaker 4: I'm not. I live in Oklahoma.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Like I'm still married to my husband. We had a
- 44:05Speaker 3: fucking bad night. He just got back from whatever Iraq.
- 44:08Speaker 4: And was going back again. And there's no excuse for it.
- 44:11Speaker 5: Yeah, it doesn't matter. Whatever it does, that doesn't matter.
- 44:13Speaker 5: People will remember what you did.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Because it was on their screens and it's pretty undeniable.
- 44:19Speaker 5: It's forever, you know.
- 44:20Speaker 3: But it's also our right as audience members to watch
- 44:24Speaker 3: and discuss. And because of social media, we can- write
- 44:28Speaker 3: you and say, like, how did you guys ever get
- 44:31Speaker 3: past that? But then that causes a problem in your
- 44:33Speaker 3: home in Oklahoma in 2026.
- 44:35Speaker 4: So like, I see it.
- 44:37Speaker 3: But if you try to tell a mom who has
- 44:38Speaker 3: an eight and a 10 year old, and she's thinking
- 44:41Speaker 3: about joining a housewife's, you're you're gonna think it's like
- 44:44Speaker 3: just like someone who's walking down the aisle and someone's
- 44:46Speaker 3: going don't get married you're gonna say not.
- 44:48Speaker 5: Us don't do it not us you know it's.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Gonna be fine i know my husband and i know
- 44:53Speaker 3: me and i know my kids and you're like yeah
- 44:55Speaker 3: but you don't know what your what your kids will
- 44:57Speaker 3: feel at 12 yeah i.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Mean just look at this right here this is a
- 45:00Speaker 5: culmination of all the cities of all this.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Stuff like every single.
- 45:04Speaker 5: One of their relationships and lives have have have paid
- 45:08Speaker 5: a price to some extent because of the show, you
- 45:11Speaker 5: know what I mean? Every single one of them, you know?
- 45:14Speaker 5: And it's also given them a lot, you know what
- 45:17Speaker 5: I mean? It's also given them a lot.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Right, the other side of it is like, but I'm
- 45:20Speaker 3: glad I'm out of that marriage because I wasn't really
- 45:23Speaker 3: in love and without the housewives, I wouldn't have ever
- 45:24Speaker 3: found myself.
- 45:25Speaker 5: Well, Vicki was just saying she would have still been
- 45:26Speaker 5: with Don, you know?
- 45:28Speaker 3: Vicky, that's so interesting that Vicky keeps saying, I should
- 45:30Speaker 3: have stayed with Don.
- 45:32Speaker 4: I'm like, what does your current boyfriend think of that?
- 45:33Speaker 3: I know.
- 45:33Speaker 5: What does he think about that? I know. Well, so
- 45:36Speaker 5: I will say something about this, though, because I did–
- 45:39Speaker 5: I just caught up on this show because we were
- 45:42Speaker 5: coming here. And I loved the white party last night.
- 45:45Speaker 5: I love a Kyle white party. I mean, it's such
- 45:47Speaker 5: an iconic thing. And I just want to speak on that, too,
- 45:50Speaker 5: for a second, like in comparison to like a Shayna Madure.
- 45:53Speaker 5: You have Kyle Richards, who's the OG of Beverly Hills,
- 45:56Speaker 5: who's like– arguably one of the biggest stars, if not
- 46:01Speaker 5: the biggest star of the Housewives franchise, right? And so
- 46:04Speaker 5: when you kind of go into a new city and
- 46:07Speaker 5: you're like, who are you going to connect with? Who
- 46:10Speaker 5: are you going to not like? Whatever. It's always different
- 46:14Speaker 5: than who you think it might be. And I honestly
- 46:17Speaker 5: didn't know what to expect with Kyle because I... love
- 46:20Speaker 5: Beverly Hills from day one. It's, you know, it's my,
- 46:23Speaker 5: like Beverly Hills and Atlanta are kind of always my favorites,
- 46:25Speaker 5: but I, so I got the chance to work on
- 46:29Speaker 5: both of them. And so going into work with Kyle
- 46:31Speaker 5: was like, you know, who knows what to expect? She's this,
- 46:33Speaker 5: you know, she's a legend, whatever. Kyle is the most warm,
- 46:37Speaker 5: like welcoming, like person. One of the most of all
- 46:41Speaker 5: the housewives I've ever worked with. You walk into that home,
- 46:44Speaker 5: her home, it feels very warm. It feels like there's
- 46:46Speaker 5: a lot of love there. You see her interact with
- 46:49Speaker 5: her girls. They love her so dearly. They're so fiercely
- 46:52Speaker 5: protective of her. And you can just feel the love
- 46:56Speaker 5: in that house. Even though that like, you know, Mauricio
- 46:58Speaker 5: is separated. You feel a lot of love in that home.
- 47:01Speaker 5: And you also, you see the way that Kyle talks
- 47:05Speaker 5: to the people who work for her. People like some
- 47:07Speaker 5: of the people.
- 47:08Speaker 4: And they love her so much.
- 47:11Speaker 5: Everyone that like works around or for Kyle loves Loves
- 47:14Speaker 5: her because she treats them all so well.
- 47:15Speaker 3: But I want to say something about that because I
- 47:17Speaker 3: have said this about Beverly Hills. And in my early
- 47:20Speaker 3: days of doing this podcast, which I've had for 11 years,
- 47:23Speaker 3: it was the Beverly Hills former actors that came here
- 47:28Speaker 3: that were the most pleasant, the on time, least even.
- 47:32Speaker 5: Always on time. Kyle would be early.
- 47:34Speaker 4: Kyle was one of my favorite interviews. I loved meeting her.
- 47:37Speaker 5: She was one of my favorite people to interview too.
- 47:39Speaker 4: So low key, cool, came by herself. Lisa Rinna, same thing. Yeah.
- 47:43Speaker 4: Denise Richards, same thing.
- 47:45Speaker 3: You know, like because she was a working child actor or,
- 47:50Speaker 3: you know, in Lisa's case, a professional actress for many
- 47:53Speaker 3: years before the show, they are entering a set with
- 47:58Speaker 3: that knowledge and professionalism.
- 48:00Speaker 5: Right.
- 48:00Speaker 4: So when you told me that like Shannon would be like,
- 48:02Speaker 4: are we done here?
- 48:03Speaker 3: Like when I filmed things, you know, you sit until
- 48:06Speaker 3: they say, okay, and that's a wrap for Heather. And
- 48:09Speaker 3: let's all clap for Heather or let's do– let's everybody–
- 48:13Speaker 3: hold for sound.
- 48:14Speaker 5: Yeah. Well, we do that on Housewives too. Right.
- 48:16Speaker 3: But you don't, you don't ever say, can we wrap
- 48:20Speaker 3: this up? I got to, like, you don't do that.
- 48:22Speaker 3: So I think that's why they, you know, just come off.
- 48:26Speaker 3: But I've always really liked her and Kyle.
- 48:30Speaker 5: Is a freaking delight. She was one of my favorites
- 48:32Speaker 5: to work with.
- 48:33Speaker 3: How did you feel when you heard about their situation? Now,
- 48:36Speaker 3: they're still married, she and Mauricio.
- 48:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:38Speaker 3: And they were at the one daughter's wedding. They were
- 48:41Speaker 3: just at the gender reveal, which her oldest daughter, which
- 48:46Speaker 3: technically is Mauricio's stepdaughter, but her oldest daughter, Farrah, who
- 48:49Speaker 3: works in the real estate with Mauricio, announced she was pregnant.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Everybody thought, because she wasn't with her fiance anymore, everybody
- 48:57Speaker 3: thought that she was maybe doing this on her own.
- 48:59Speaker 4: She's in her late 30s, whatever.
- 49:01Speaker 3: But it was revealed just yesterday that she is having
- 49:05Speaker 3: a boy, which is amazing since they have four daughters.
- 49:08Speaker 4: So I'm sure that's a thing.
- 49:09Speaker 1: I know.
- 49:09Speaker 5: I'm sure they're so excited to be having a boy.
- 49:11Speaker 3: It's with her co-star from Buying Beverly Hills, Zach Goldsmith.
- 49:17Speaker 3: And they appear to be together. But there's a little
- 49:22Speaker 3: juice in that when we watched the show, he was
- 49:25Speaker 3: a married man. We don't know when this started or
- 49:27Speaker 3: what his divorce status is. But he was there for
- 49:30Speaker 3: the gender reveal, and it seemed very happy. And I
- 49:33Speaker 3: have always said about Kyla Mauricio– I have said that
- 49:38Speaker 3: I think there is a chance that they will kind
- 49:42Speaker 3: of end up still together. And I said I could
- 49:45Speaker 3: see them being very happy this before she was pregnant,
- 49:48Speaker 3: being grandparents together. And that's going to kind of like
- 49:50Speaker 3: bring the love back after they've all kind of gone
- 49:53Speaker 3: their own way sexually, whatever, like come back and like
- 49:56Speaker 3: be like Lucy and Ricky in the pool with their grandson.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Like I am kind of. And my new thing is, like,
- 50:02Speaker 3: I think in a couple years I could see them
- 50:05Speaker 3: living as a couple again.
- 50:06Speaker 4: But what do you think?
- 50:08Speaker 5: Look, I mean, I think that Kyle, you know, people
- 50:12Speaker 5: are so invested in Kyle and Mauricio. They've watched her
- 50:15Speaker 5: for 15 years now, you know. And they were always
- 50:18Speaker 5: this kind of, like, portrait of perfection in Beverly Hills
- 50:21Speaker 5: that people, like, kind of, like, looked at. Like, what
- 50:23Speaker 5: a beautiful relationship. Because you could tell they really have
- 50:25Speaker 5: a lot of love for each other, you know.
- 50:26Speaker 4: There was also never– can I say?
- 50:28Speaker 3: There was also never any– moments where Mauricio appeared as
- 50:33Speaker 3: a as an asshole husband like all the others like
- 50:37Speaker 3: he was always.
- 50:38Speaker 5: There and he shows up for her they're not even
- 50:39Speaker 5: together anymore and he shows up for her yeah.
- 50:41Speaker 3: They were having parties he was there he always appeared
- 50:44Speaker 3: to be fun they had funny moments together they would
- 50:47Speaker 3: be affectionate like all those things so I and then
- 50:51Speaker 3: I also think that was so much pressure for her
- 50:53Speaker 3: too absolutely to.
- 50:54Speaker 4: Know that they were like.
- 50:56Speaker 5: Couple goals of course so like it's Any relationship is
- 51:00Speaker 5: always pressure. Any marriage is always there's always going to
- 51:02Speaker 5: be pressures and challenges. But then to be kind of
- 51:04Speaker 5: like hoisted up as like of all the franchises of everyone,
- 51:08Speaker 5: like the hottest house husband and and this perfect, you know,
- 51:12Speaker 5: perfect couple. And like, you know, no one's perfect. You
- 51:15Speaker 5: know what I'm saying? And so I think it's I'm
- 51:18Speaker 5: like so over this whole thing of like Kyle and
- 51:21Speaker 5: Marisa need to figure it out. They need to define
- 51:23Speaker 5: what they are and like that.
- 51:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:25Speaker 5: Like, and that whole thing that Vicky said to her
- 51:27Speaker 5: when she was like kind of melting down about, not
- 51:29Speaker 5: melting down. So rude, yeah. Kyle was really emotional about it.
- 51:32Speaker 5: It was her anniversary and like having like an emotional moment.
- 51:36Speaker 5: And God, I was disgusted honestly by Vicky in that moment.
- 51:40Speaker 5: I was like, why did they send her over there?
- 51:42Speaker 5: Like literally send any of the, send Teresa, send Giselle.
- 51:44Speaker 4: But maybe they know because that was a.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Talked about moment though. Because she's such an asshole. We
- 51:49Speaker 3: had to talk about it because no woman that's normal-
- 51:53Speaker 3: If you were faced with your friend crying about it
- 51:57Speaker 3: being her 30th wedding anniversary and she's not with her husband,
- 52:00Speaker 3: but they're, you know, separate or not getting divorced and
- 52:03Speaker 3: she's crying about it, of course you'd be like, you know,
- 52:06Speaker 3: consoling her. And obviously she didn't. But I also felt
- 52:10Speaker 3: I kind of loved Vicki for being so honest.
- 52:15Speaker 4: And I mean, this is an honest thing. Like this,
- 52:19Speaker 4: this thing, With her and Mauricio.
- 52:21Speaker 5: I think Vicky killed the moment.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:23Speaker 4: No, she did. She did.
- 52:24Speaker 3: But there is a whole thing with older people my
- 52:28Speaker 3: age and older, too, where they don't get divorced. They
- 52:33Speaker 3: they have maybe an open marriage or they don't ask,
- 52:35Speaker 3: don't tell. Or this whole thing where women are quietly
- 52:38Speaker 3: quitting marriage, where they stay married, but they are no
- 52:41Speaker 3: longer trying to, like, make it better. They're just like, whatever.
- 52:44Speaker 3: And so I'm like, we're seeing a version of that
- 52:48Speaker 3: in the show.
- 52:49Speaker 5: And I.
- 52:51Speaker 4: Think she's showing everything. I mean, I do.
- 52:53Speaker 3: I know there was a thing with Morgan and all
- 52:55Speaker 3: that and she never really defined it, but still it
- 52:59Speaker 3: still was very interesting. So like, I feel like she's
- 53:03Speaker 3: as a cast member, I think she's one of the
- 53:07Speaker 3: best because I think she's given us a lot.
- 53:10Speaker 5: I agree. I think, I think Kyle is the, OG
- 53:13Speaker 5: of Beverly Hills. I think she is like, if there's
- 53:15Speaker 5: a Mount Rushmore, Kyle represents Beverly Hills. I think that, look,
- 53:22Speaker 5: I hate how it's such a negative of like, oh,
- 53:26Speaker 5: like Kyle and Mauricio have to figure this out. Are
- 53:28Speaker 5: you going to get back together or are you going
- 53:29Speaker 5: to stay apart? It's like, why can't this like be
- 53:32Speaker 5: a positive? Like, look at this like lady who is
- 53:35Speaker 5: showcasing how to, even though your marriage may not be
- 53:39Speaker 5: working out the way that you had hoped it would,
- 53:41Speaker 5: how to remain a family for your kids and how
- 53:44Speaker 5: to keep a relationship between each other. That's like built
- 53:48Speaker 5: upon like, you know, love and respect, even though we're
- 53:51Speaker 5: not together in that way anymore, but we're still allowing
- 53:54Speaker 5: like our family to experience both of us together. And like,
- 53:57Speaker 5: you know, granted some people that that's not possible, you know,
- 53:59Speaker 5: because of like contentious divorces or whatever, but that's not
- 54:03Speaker 5: the case here. And so I think they're showing the
- 54:06Speaker 5: world a beautiful thing of like, look, Our relationship did
- 54:10Speaker 5: not work. It did not work out for now. You
- 54:13Speaker 5: know what I mean? For now, that's what I think.
- 54:15Speaker 5: Whatever's going to happen in the future is going to happen,
- 54:16Speaker 5: but- Like why is it a bad thing that they
- 54:21Speaker 5: are this couple who are able to be around each
- 54:24Speaker 5: other and her husband is able to come to this
- 54:27Speaker 5: party that's celebrating 15 years of this legacy that she's built.
- 54:32Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Like that's something to be
- 54:34Speaker 5: so proud of.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Right.
- 54:36Speaker 5: And he is still showing up for– sorry, that's not him. Yeah, yeah.
- 54:40Speaker 5: But yeah, I think that Kyle gets.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Here's Kyle having a blast. This was all over everyone's
- 54:46Speaker 3: For You page. Bo's wedding in Ghana. Bo's from Real
- 54:50Speaker 3: Housewives of Early Hills.
- 54:52Speaker 4: And it's so colorful.
- 54:53Speaker 5: It's so beautiful. Their colorful outfits were, like, really cool.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they had, like, a Ghana gown designer
- 54:59Speaker 3: do all their dresses.
- 55:00Speaker 5: I like Sutton's. It was, like, a green and purple.
- 55:03Speaker 5: It really popped.
- 55:03Speaker 3: Cohesively, it was really pretty. It's something, like, we've never
- 55:06Speaker 3: seen and– And it looked like they were really having fun.
- 55:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 4: So that was fun.
- 55:12Speaker 3: And then it was announced that Tracy Tudor of Million
- 55:15Speaker 3: Dollar Listing is joining the cast of Real Housewives of
- 55:17Speaker 3: Beverly Hills.
- 55:18Speaker 5: Okay.
- 55:19Speaker 4: And I was like, you know what?
- 55:20Speaker 3: I thought that was interesting because last season they brought
- 55:23Speaker 3: on Rachel Zoe, a former Bravo star, much like Tracy.
- 55:28Speaker 4: And she was very well received. She was fun to watch.
- 55:33Speaker 3: And they brought another girl, Amanda Francis, who had some
- 55:37Speaker 3: internet fame, but 99% of the audience didn't know who
- 55:40Speaker 3: she was.
- 55:40Speaker 5: She was way more fun to watch, I thought.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 55:43Speaker 3: Well, I mean, and she's not coming back, whether that's
- 55:45Speaker 3: mutual or whatever, she's not coming back. So I think,
- 55:49Speaker 3: do you think that they chose a Tracy- Because she's
- 55:54Speaker 3: fun to watch and she's beautiful and she's smart. But also,
- 55:57Speaker 3: it's like getting an experienced person for the job. They
- 56:00Speaker 3: know how to do it. They know how to be
- 56:02Speaker 3: on camera. They know what to expect. They can be
- 56:04Speaker 3: professional around a crew. She probably has a good reputation
- 56:08Speaker 3: from the previous seasons. She knows the cast members. She
- 56:11Speaker 3: lives in Beverly Hills. But then someone reminded me, like, oh,
- 56:16Speaker 3: she had all those issues with Dorit. And I was like, oh, God,
- 56:19Speaker 3: that's right. There was some makeup artist that, like, Dorit
- 56:22Speaker 3: kind of screwed over or didn't pay. And I'm like,
- 56:24Speaker 3: I hope we don't have to spend four of the
- 56:26Speaker 3: first episodes of the makeup artist.
- 56:29Speaker 5: That's like a five-minute conversation.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I love you, makeup artist, but I don't want
- 56:35Speaker 3: you to take up space for something else.
- 56:38Speaker 5: Yeah. The only reason I know who Tracy Tudor is,
- 56:42Speaker 5: is because of that. Because I was on Beverly Hills
- 56:45Speaker 5: when that was all in the press of her talking
- 56:47Speaker 5: about Dorit not paying for her stuff. So I was
- 56:49Speaker 5: not really familiar with her before that. But great.
- 56:55Speaker 3: I mean.
- 56:56Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 56:56Speaker 4: I don't really want a lot of real estate talk.
- 56:59Speaker 5: I don't know. I do not want that.
- 57:00Speaker 3: I want to have, like, girl and relationships and, like,
- 57:03Speaker 3: whoever she's dating hopefully is interesting and maybe has some
- 57:07Speaker 3: backstory with someone else.
- 57:08Speaker 5: Well, I hope she's genuinely friends with someone.
- 57:09Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 57:11Speaker 5: Because, like I said, having a real relationship with at
- 57:14Speaker 5: least one person is crucial, I think.
- 57:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 57:16Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Because you're coming in like
- 57:18Speaker 5: a fish out of water with knowing no one and
- 57:20Speaker 5: then you get left with, like, Amanda or, like, a
- 57:23Speaker 5: Katie where it kind of– you got to have somebody
- 57:27Speaker 5: to like cement you into where like, no, like listen
- 57:30Speaker 5: to what this woman says. Let's not like just ice
- 57:33Speaker 5: her out of the whole thing, you know?
- 57:34Speaker 3: And so let's talk about when you worked on Beverly Hills,
- 57:37Speaker 3: did you have a favorite or two besides Kyle?
- 57:40Speaker 5: I mean, Garcelle for sure. Um, Garcelle.
- 57:43Speaker 4: Again, a professional actress. Yeah.
- 57:45Speaker 5: Garcelle.
- 57:45Speaker 4: Who's coming on a show.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:47Speaker 5: Garcelle is someone who I like consider a friend, you
- 57:49Speaker 5: know what I mean? Um, genuinely. And Sutton, Sutton was
- 57:52Speaker 5: always lovely to work with. Uh, We had a lot
- 57:54Speaker 5: of fun together. Yeah.
- 57:58Speaker 4: What about Dorit?
- 58:00Speaker 5: Dorit? Yeah, she's like, you know.
- 58:04Speaker 4: Were you surprised to hear that they were getting divorced,
- 58:06Speaker 4: she and PK?
- 58:07Speaker 5: I was not surprised to hear that, no. Look, Dorit's
- 58:10Speaker 5: like fine. She was also going through a lot at
- 58:13Speaker 5: that period. Again, everyone's going through a lot when they're
- 58:15Speaker 5: doing a lot of these shows.
- 58:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 58:17Speaker 3: But also if you're not, obviously you're going through a
- 58:19Speaker 3: lot and we might not know it because your marriage
- 58:22Speaker 3: is ending.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:24Speaker 3: And you have and you haven't totally revealed that, which
- 58:26Speaker 3: is also real life. You don't reveal to even your
- 58:29Speaker 3: best girlfriends if something– because you're kind of hoping is
- 58:33Speaker 3: this not– maybe this isn't forever. So I don't want
- 58:35Speaker 3: to speak on it yet.
- 58:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:38Speaker 4: But I'm going to bed sad every night.
- 58:40Speaker 5: Oh, if you say it, once you say it, that's
- 58:42Speaker 5: like– you know what I mean? Right. That's what's so crazy.
- 58:45Speaker 5: It's– the– Those words of wisdom from Dorinda Medley many,
- 58:50Speaker 5: many years ago. And like when she said, write it,
- 58:54Speaker 5: regret it, say it, forget it. I think that's what
- 58:57Speaker 5: she said. Say it, forget it, write it, regret it.
- 58:59Speaker 3: But when you say it on a reality show, then
- 59:01Speaker 3: that's even more permanent than anything that you would write.
- 59:04Speaker 5: Right.
- 59:04Speaker 3: But it is true in the sense that, you know,
- 59:08Speaker 3: if you're not being filmed, or whatever, to have a
- 59:11Speaker 3: conversation on a phone that's not being recorded or.
- 59:13Speaker 4: In person, you can get past that.
- 59:16Speaker 3: But when you start writing the text messages, which are, quote, unquote,
- 59:19Speaker 3: the receipts of You know, that someone can go, look,
- 59:22Speaker 3: you know, at the reunion, look what she wrote me,
- 59:24Speaker 3: you know, before we filmed.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 59:26Speaker 5: That's like Housewives 101. Just like stop texting, period. You
- 59:29Speaker 5: know what I mean?
- 59:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:30Speaker 5: Just stop texting. If you get cast as the housewife,
- 59:32Speaker 5: stop texting.
- 59:33Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 59:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 59:34Speaker 5: Just FaceTime them so you can know. Because if you
- 59:36Speaker 5: call them, they can also record you. Oh, that's a
- 59:40Speaker 5: good call. Oh, my God. It's like FaceTiming instead. Yeah.
- 59:44Speaker 3: I didn't realize that's maybe that's why people FaceTime so much.
- 59:48Speaker 4: Because you're right. So the way the phone works, you
- 59:51Speaker 4: could record a phone or you'd have to have.
- 59:53Speaker 5: A second phone. You'd have to have a second phone
- 59:55Speaker 5: or something. You know what I mean?
- 59:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:57Speaker 4: But I guess you could still do that with a FaceTime,
- 59:59Speaker 4: I guess.
- 59:59Speaker 5: Or you just have someone else listening. Oh, my God.
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: You want to hear. That happened to me actually one
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: time on one of these shows. So you want to
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: talk about, well, she's not on this show anymore, but
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: Lisa Vanderpump.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: So I did multiple seasons of Vanderpump Rules as well.
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: And so, you know, like I always enjoyed working with Lisa.
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: We had a great time working together because, you know,
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: she's a schemer, you know what I mean? And so
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: as a producer, you're like, you're, you're, you're trying to
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: make some shit happen. You know what I mean? It's like, so,
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: and Lisa was like always really trying to, to scheme
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: and make things happen, but Lisa never wanted to look bad. So,
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: I mean, that's why she left housewives once, like once
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: Lisa was confronted with like, Hey, you did this thing
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: and you leaked these stories and we kind of have proof.
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: So like, What do you say about it? And she
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: didn't even show up to the reunion. You know what
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: I mean?
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: So Lisa was very protected for like 11 years on
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: Vanderpump Rules because she got to like stay above the fray. So,
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: but it was very, you know, let's face it. Like
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: Vanderpump Rules was never about Lisa Vanderpump. You know what
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: I mean? Vanderpump Rules is one of the greatest shows
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: of all time. And it is so because of Stassi,
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: because of Sheena. because of Katie, Kristen, Jax, Sandoval, you know,
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: like all of these major, like there wasn't a dud
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: in the bunch.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: And also just the pitch of- beautiful, struggling, young.
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: Actors who all work at.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: An LA restaurant and are all friends and they're established
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: couples and friendships in history.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: I mean, when that was- It was real, it was raw,
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: it was gritty as fuck.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: Yeah, for them to, when they figured that out through
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Lisa's restaurants, I wonder if Lisa, I don't think Lisa
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: getting Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, maybe so, had ever
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: thought like, oh, this could be a whole nother show.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: But this really is the best show because it included
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: guys too in an organic way and relationships and everything
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: and youth and- Well, and let's not forget.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: Like, you know, Let's give Sheena her props. Right. She
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: was the reason for the season.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: If Sheena hadn't slept with Eddie Cibrian.
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: Yeah, Brandy's ex, yeah.
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: They never would have had a launching point in. Right. So,
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: I don't know. In my opinion, like... But they could.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: Have, though. I'm just saying.
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: Right, they could have found a way. Let's say that
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: didn't happen.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: Let's say that didn't happen and they were like.
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: But it was a great way.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: And they were like, hey, Lisa, do you have any
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: other ideas for shows? Or I think a producer could have...
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: seen her restaurants, and maybe it could have dinged to them,
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: wait a minute, this is the brilliant show. How many
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: dumb sitcoms in the 90s and early 2000s were about
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: people working at a bar?
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: Cheers.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: There was one of the first ones, like what happens
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: in a bar? So like this is that version of it.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: But so anyway, tell me about Lisa.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: So this one particular time. So like what made it
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: in the later years when I, look, I didn't work
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: on Vanderpump Rules in the beginning, but I watched it religiously.
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: I think it was really great. Like I said, one
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: of the greatest shows of all time. It is so good.
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: And so it was such an honor for me to,
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: I got called out of the blue for that too.
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: I was, I was doing Atlanta. I was doing Potomac
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: and stuff. And so when I got the call to
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: like interview for Vanderpump Rules, I was like, yes, you know,
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: and I got it and I came out and did
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: it and, and was there for a couple of years.
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: And those two seasons that I was on were the
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: only ones that, ended up getting nominated for Emmys. And
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: so it was like this like really cool experience. Like
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: this show I've watched for years and like now I'm
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: working on it. I'm like not just working on it,
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: but I'm like running the show in the field. You
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: know what I mean? I was the supervising producer. And
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: so in the field, like on the ground with them,
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: you know, I was like steering the ship, reporting back
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: to my executive producers in the offices, you know? And
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: so that was a lot of fun for me and
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: it was thrilling and it was exciting and stuff. And
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: like I'm working with Lisa Vanderpump, this iconic Beverly Hills housewife.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: And anytime like when I got assigned Candy as my
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: first housewife that I was assigned to like I'm fucking
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: working with Candy and Sheree and you know like I
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: loved it. It was like so exciting and fun for me.
- 1:04:09Speaker 5: And I think that the housewives like felt that excitement
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: and love from me. And that's why they like trusted
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: me and kind of like opened up to me. And
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: I became close with a lot of them, you know.
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: So anyway, we're filming this season. It was the one
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: before that, I think. It was season 10. It was
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: before Scandal Ball had broke.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: And so it was this episode. We were filming at Sur.
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: And so before every scene, like I said, you chat
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: with the cast, kind of go through the stuff. And
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: so this scene was like, we're filming at Sur and
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: Raquel is coming in because she's late for work. So
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: where was she? And she slept at Sandoval's and Ariana's
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: out of town, right? This, by the way, this is
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: before all that shit had broken.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: Yeah. And so while I was talking to Lisa about
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: it before we filmed that scene, I was like, yeah,
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: I was like, it is kind of like right where
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: Gal did sleep at Sandoval's. Like, I wonder if Ariana
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: like knows that she does know she's sleeping. Is it
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: weird that she's there? You know what I mean? We're
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: just kind of like talking about it as you would,
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: In any situation, you talk about, like, the characters at
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: play and what's going to happen to them. It's like, oh,
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: it's innocent. It's nothing. Because, like, Raquel was very friendly
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: with both of them. She was practically over there all
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: the time.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: You know what I mean? And when I was there,
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: she was always over there. And so, like, we were
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: just kind of, like, speculating on it and, like, but,
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: like– is there something there? And I remember us talking
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: about that.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: You and Lisa.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: I was talking to Lisa. I was like, is there
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: something there of her sleeping there while Ariana's gone? But
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: Schwartz was there, so maybe not. But is there something there?
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: And that was the first time I had ever spoken
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: to anyone about that idea or that concept. And so.
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: I talk to Lisa about this and then we go
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: and we shoot the scene. Raquel comes, oh, I'm so
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: sorry I'm late. I'm sorry, Lisa. And Lisa gives her
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: a stern talking to for being late on the job.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: That she doesn't even work at.
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: And so then after the scene, we're kind of like,
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: you know, breaking down. And I would always like chit
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: chat with Lisa after. How do you think it went? Blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: What do we need to do to move forward? Move
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: the story forward and stuff. And, um, so I had gone,
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: I was like doing something with the crew and I
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: come back and Lisa is still at the table.
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: She was on the phone. She was like talking to
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: somebody and I'm like doing my thing. The crew's breaking down.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: I come back over and I sit, uh, to talk
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: to her. And, um, and I noticed that she, she
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: was like, yes, yes, yes, darling. And I'm like, yeah. Like, Oh,
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: how do you think the scene went? She was like, yep.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: Went good. Went good. Went good. Went good. Went good.
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: What do you think? What was that you were saying, darling,
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: about Tom Sandoval beforehand, before we were shooting? I was like, huh?
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: What do you mean? She's like, we were talking before.
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: We were talking about Raquel and stuff. So I don't know.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: What do you think? You talked about Raquel being over
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: there while Ariana was gone. What did you say? What
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: did you say? And I was like... what are you
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: like us talking about how she slept over there? And
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: I was like, what is she doing? And she was
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: acting very strange. And she was clearly wanting me to
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: say the same thing I had said before, which is like,
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: is there something there with like, with Raquel?
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: And have this be on camera? I don't understand what
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: you're getting at.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: So no, there's, she's talking to me. This is all
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: off camera.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: So, but why do you, what are you getting at?
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: So listen, so she's asking me all these questions, wanting
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: to know what I, exactly what I said before. Okay.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: And I was like, this is so weird. And I
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: kept looking at her phone and I was like, it
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: was turned face forward and I saw her do it,
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: you know what I mean? And I was like, and
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: I even mentioned, I was like, Lisa, is your phone
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: still on? She's like, darling, what were you saying before?
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: And I was like, I reached over and I got
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: your phone and I turned it over and it was
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: running and it was Tom Sandoval. And so she had
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: called him and said that like, he's speculating about something.
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: Here you go. Puts the, calls him.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: To like, Ask him about it.
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: So he can eavesdrop on the conversation. So to set
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: me up to say something, to like break his trust
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: in me, you know what I mean? To like challenge
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: the trust. Because the most important thing with reality shows
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: is like your producer's trust. So she wanted him to
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: think that we were starting to question something about him,
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: you know, for whatever reason. Because at this point, Lisa
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: was very frustrated because she was not a part of
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: the show anymore. You know what I mean? And so
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: she was wanting to like let Tom Sandoval know that like,
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: hey– production might be like thinking this is something happening.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: I don't know what her motivation was, but I caught
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: her red-handed recording me.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: For you and your experience, I understand you as coming
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: in like, why are you trying to like put me
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: in the bad space?
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: But for me as a person that was watching the show,
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: I feel like that's kind of really real and juicy.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Like if she did call Tom Sandoval off camera and
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: be like, is there something going on, darling, with Raquel?
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: I just talked to her and she's disheveled and she's hungover,
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: but she's supposed to be at your house. And even
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: the producer is questioning it. I think it's rude that
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: she was trying to have someone eavesdrop without your knowledge.
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: She was doing it to say, tighten up, because if
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: that's happening, they're on to you. You know what I mean?
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: But I'm saying if she really wanted to make a
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: great show, then she shouldn't have been a friend to
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: Tom Sandoval. And she should have let it– like then
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: she should have been like, well, if this is fucking
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: happening– so I'm just saying she's.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Been– wait, wait, wait.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: I just– people have criticized her for being the puppet–
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: literally called the puppet master is what Brandi Glanville said.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: And– so I'm saying if– there could be two ways
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: to look at it. I see your perspective. But I'm
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: also saying like there's something really authentic about her being
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: like if this is.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: About secretly recording someone against their knowledge.
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: Not secretly recording.
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: Not secretly recording.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: But– Reaching out to him and being like, is this
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: really happening? Because if this is really happening, people are
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: onto you and you better stop. To me, it seems
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: more authentic than wanting it to play out.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: Because some people thought that other cast members knew it
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: was happening.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: You need to hear.
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: This because I disagree. Because what I think is that
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: was her trying to control a situation where she felt
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: all control slipping away from her. You know what I mean?
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: Because at this time too, this is like season 10.
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: We were literally having meetings of like, how do we
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: incorporate Lisa into the show this week? You know what
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: I mean? Because she just was not a part of
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: their lives anymore. None of them worked for her anymore.
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: She was just like there, you know?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: So, and God love her. Like, she was an iconic housewife.
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: All due respect. But, like, the show was not about her.
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: And they moved, like, so it became a challenge to
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: incorporate her into the show because she just wasn't in
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: their lives in any genuine capacity anymore.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: Now, wait, I just want to ask a question.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: So you said, like, you know, for Shannon, she doesn't
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: like doing this show, but she wanted the check and
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: the fame. Was there any moment where, like, that would,
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: where Lisa was like, hey, if you don't.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Need me except for the reunion. No, she loves doing it.
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: So you felt, Pressure from all the entities to make
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: sure that she was included. Because like anybody else, if
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: this was a regular show, you would put them on
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: less episodes of the sitcom.
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: But the show is called Vanderpump Rules. You know what
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: I mean?
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: So it's a very, very unique situation with her.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: Right, yeah.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: Because the show is named after her.
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: Got it.
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: But the show has never been about her.
- 1:11:47Speaker 7: Got it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: So we had to get very creative at the end
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: of like, how do we incorporate Lisa here? Okay, well
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: maybe Katie and Ariana are like going over to her
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: house to like– sample some sandwiches because they're running a
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: sandwich shop and that's a way to get them over there.
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: And British people like tea and sandwiches. So let's go
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: have them do like, you know what I mean? Like,
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: what do we do to get them there? She's going
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: to show, throw a party for Lala who worked at
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: a restaurant six years ago. Cause that's what people do.
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: You know what I mean? So anyway, it was just
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: like always kind of creatively finding a way to get us,
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: get us over to Lisa's or something. And so, She
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: also never wanted to be the– because one very important
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: thing in reality shows is like the transfer of information. Okay,
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: it's like– and this is just totally hypothetical. Tom Schwartz
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: has a piece of information that we need to get
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: to Ariana. So let's– but he's not going to tell Ariana.
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: So let's send Schwartz to lunch with Sheena so he
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: can transfer the information to Sheena and then Sheena will
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: be the transfer of information to Ariana. And so like,
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: there's always conversations about how this is going to happen.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying? And so.
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: Among the producers.
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: Among the producers, correct. But Lisa, she never wanted to
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: be the transfer of information because, darling, I don't want
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: to seem like I'm gossiping with these children. You know
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: what I mean? Yeah, yeah. How can we do this
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: in a way that... I didn't do it. It wouldn't
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: make me look bad. Right.
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: And Housewives Day, people used to say, you do this
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: to keep your hands clean. She was accused of saying,
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: bring the magazines with the tabloid rumors about Mauricio to
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: Palm Springs so that it gets brought up. And then
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: she's like, no, that's never happened. And also, it appeared
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: that maybe she was the one that encouraged Lisa Rinna
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: to bring up Munchausen's to disease.
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: Right, and encouraged Teddy to do the dog thing.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: The puppy game with Lucy Goosey, Apple Juicy. Yeah, which then,
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: you know, she has staunchly denied that she... She always says,
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: I never sold stories to Radar Online, which I believe.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: There's no reason to sell a story that you don't... Yeah,
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: you just tell them. Yeah, but also I feel like
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: I always kind of thought that story was just so bizarre,
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: the puppy gate, because I'm like, first of all, you know,
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: there's all the people filming the show.
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: There's all the people that work at the dog rescue.
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: There's nannies.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: There's a lot of people that knew that Dorit had
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: a dog that nipped at her. She gave it to
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: somebody else and that dog ended up at a kill
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: shelter but was saved because it had a chip and
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: they called Lisa. Like many people would have known that story.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: And I did think it was weird that they all
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: blamed her for the story getting out. And I was like,
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: but think how many players there were. There were, there
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: were people at the first shelter.
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: They were complaining because it was also like pro, like
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: Lisa was the hero of the story. You know what
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: I mean? Like she saved the dog. You know what
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: I mean? It's like, If it had been a little more, like,
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: impartial or whatever, like, you know what I mean? You can't, like,
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: have the story be so pro one person. If you're
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: going to, like, put a story out there, you got
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: to make it be a little more even. You know
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: what I mean? Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: I still think it's such a weird.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: I think it's still such a weird story because I'm like.
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: I've seen her do it firsthand. I've watched her do it.
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: I've watched her refuse to get her hands dirty to
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: the point, to extreme ridiculous points that made me be like, oh,
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: my God, I can't believe this is my job. All right,
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: let's do it. So I will tell you a story
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: about a very iconic moment from Vanderpump Rules, the scandal
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: of it all. Okay. So there was this very situation
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: we're talking about of Raquel being oversleeping and being late
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: for work. So now Lisa knew this because she owns
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: the restaurant. However, no one else works at the restaurant.
- 1:15:33Speaker 5: So no one else could have known this to get
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: this information to the rest of the cast because no
- 1:15:38Speaker 5: one works there. So we needed to get the fact
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: that Raquel had slept over at Tom Sandoval's house while
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: Ariana was out of town. I think it was because
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: her grandma had passed away, sadly. And we needed to
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: get this information to somebody else in the cast. The
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: only person that knew was Lisa. And so Lisa wasn't
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: going to do it. She's like, I can't get in
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: the middle of this mess. What does that make me
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: look like? I'm gossiping. Also, she knows if you get
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: in the mess, you can get it back. Because they'd
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: be like, fucking Lisa told me. You know what I mean?
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: And they'd be like, oh, God.
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: And she doesn't want the smoke anymore. So we had
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: to come up with a way to get this information
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: to somebody else. And the scene that I was presented
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: with that day was Katie Maloney was coming over to
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Villa Rosa to do what? Make more sandwiches.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: To do some sandwich tastings with Lisa. So this information
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: needed to get to Katie at this scene, but Lisa's
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: not gonna do it. So the only other fucking person
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: I had to work with was Ken. So I'm like,
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: we gotta get this info. I gotta get Ken to
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: fucking tell Katie that Raquel slept at St. Paul's last night.
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: So like, how the hell are you gonna, how the
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: hell are you gonna make that believable, right? So I
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: was like, okay, this is what I'm saying. Like Lisa
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: became sort of like, like a hindrance really, for the
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: lack of a better word at the end, because you
- 1:17:07Speaker 5: gotta get super creative because she's gotta be in the show,
- 1:17:10Speaker 5: but she won't be a transfer of information. So like,
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: what do you do with her? She's just like immovable
- 1:17:15Speaker 5: piece that's standing in the way. So let's kill Ken, which,
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: you know, God love him. So I was like, all right, Lisa,
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: this is what we're gonna do. So it's like the
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: preamble of this scene is gonna be you talking to Ken.
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: And you're going to be like shooting the shit. And
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: you're going to tell Ken that, you know, what happened
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: with Raquel sleeping over at Santa Claus, because it's not scandalous.
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: If you tell Ken, you're just telling your husband. And
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: then we'll have Ken conveniently come into the room while Katie,
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: you're talking to Katie and we'll have him spill that,
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: the beans. And like, and she's like, okay, yeah, that's good.
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: That's good. That's good. We'll have Ken. And then so
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: we're like, all right, Ken, you got this. And he's like,
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: come again you know what I mean like so what
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: am I supposed to do I'm like okay so Ken
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: you guys are going to do this scene we'll get
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: that and Lisa will tell her now Ken this is
- 1:18:05Speaker 5: what you're going to do when Katie's here is when
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: that PA comes and taps you on the shoulder I
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: want you to walk through here and just be like
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: huh I can't believe Raquel slept at Santa Falls last
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: night oh my god and just kind of do it
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: while you're moving you don't even need to stop it's
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: just like a drive by you know what I mean
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: And he's like, okay, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Who, who,
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: who slept over? Uh, Katie slept.
- 1:18:33Speaker 7: No, no, no.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: You're going to say this to Katie. Got it. Katie. Okay.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: It's like Raquel. I can't believe Raquel slept at the center.
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: I got, okay. I got it. And I'm telling you,
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: so we do the whole preamble. We shoot it. She
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: tells them and, uh, and, and then comes. Katie's there.
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: And God love her. I love Katie Maloney so much.
- 1:18:53Speaker 5: She was so fun. Talk about someone who's like so sweet.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: Wait, I just have to interrupt you for one second
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: because I've been dying during this whole story.
- 1:19:00Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: Because I had a bit in my standup from a
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: couple years ago that I did.
- 1:19:07Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: That I said, you know, wouldn't it, you know, isn't
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: it amazing that like every scene, you.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: Know, no, this is how I started.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: I go, I talk about Scandival and I said, and
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: I love that a producer was like, how the fuck
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: do we get this going on this show? We've got
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: to get, we've got to get it out that they
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: know that they're like sleeping together.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: So the producer like kicks Ken out there. I would
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: act it out. And then I'd walk, scuffle out like Ken.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: And I'd be like, can you believe that Raquel slept
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: at Sandoval's while Ariana was at a grandmother's funeral?
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: Can you believe it?
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: And then because I'm a writer of my own stand-up material,
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: I would then add all the other times that– fictionally,
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: that Ken had to save the scene.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: So I had to be like, can.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: You believe that Brooks was faking cancer? Can you believe
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: that Denise Richards slept with Brandi Glanville while filming a
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: Hallmark movie in Canada?
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: Can you believe it?
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: Can you believe Monica is reality von Teese?
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: Can you believe that Daniel Staub was a prostitution engaged
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: 19 times can you believe it and it was like
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: my like favorite bit for like nine months after that
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: time so as you're telling the story I'm like I
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: knew I was fucking right yeah I'm always right well
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: I mean yeah.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: Everybody was talking about that moment because it was like
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: what the fuck but.
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: Yeah this is how we got it and it was
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: it was such an iconic moment because you see Katie's
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: face and she's like And I remember I'm close to.
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: Well, Katie, God bless her. Because when you're shooting a
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: show like this, there does become a point where you
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: have to sort of like accept certain things.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: And just like accept the world in which you're in.
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: You're like, okay, yeah, this is fine. But I will
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: tell you, we... Because Ken... you know, God love him. Yeah.
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: He's an older gentleman. He didn't nail it the first time.
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: So we, we did shoot him walking in and saying
- 1:21:10Speaker 5: that like three times because, and then Katie was like,
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: what's going, what's going on? What is he saying? And
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: she's kind of like, like, I'm sure she fucking knew like, well,
- 1:21:21Speaker 5: clearly they had to get somebody to carry this bone
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: and LVP is not going to do it. But that's
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: the thing. She like, she would just sat there and
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: like let her husband come in and do that and
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: be like, oh gosh dear. Whoa, Ken, why would you
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: say that?
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: Well, cat's out of the bag.
- 1:21:37Speaker 5: Sorry, Katie. Better go tell Lala. You know what I mean?
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: Amazing.
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: So that's what I'm saying. It's like, she's a schemer. Like,
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: you know what I mean? It's nothing, it's not like,
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: you know, She's mistreating people or being crazy. But, like,
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: you know, I don't know. When she recorded me or
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: had me on the phone with him, I mean, in
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: that moment, I was like, well, I know I cannot
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: trust you. You know what I mean? But, yeah, she
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: was scheming and moving around at the end because she
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: felt the show kind of slipping away. Yeah, I heard that.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: Like, before Stand of All, there was talk that it
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: might even end after 10.
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I mean, there was, like– You know, the
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: kind of.
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: Because nobody was working at the restaurant. Well, no one
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: worked at the restaurant.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: Did you ever think, as a producer of the show,
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: because I know in the beginning they were like, you know,
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: you have to work there. You've got to at least
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: do a couple shifts a week or two shifts a
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: week or whatever.
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: And then as time wore on and the cast was
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: getting older and they owned homes and they.
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: And they were becoming famous and they were getting like.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and they have their things that they have to
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: do during the day, sponsorships and whatnot.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: Did anybody ever decide, like want to say, okay, part
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: of it is, I mean, I guess you couldn't make
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: them work at the restaurant if you're not filming it.
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: Like in the past they kept their jobs and sometimes
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: you'd go there and there'd be no cameras and you'd
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: really would see them bartender or whatever.
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: At the beginning.
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: So they just decided they weren't going to insist on
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: that or anything because they couldn't.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: Well, they just had to. What are we going to
- 1:23:08Speaker 5: have like Ariana and Sheena working at Sir? You know
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: what I mean? They just weren't in that place in
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: their lives anymore.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: And so actually the original plan of how to move
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: the show forward before Scandival happened was like it was
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: going to shift to Schwartz and Sandy's. You know what
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: I mean? Oh, yeah. Oh, we were going to meet
- 1:23:24Speaker 5: some of the new staff at Schwartz and Sandy's, some
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: of these bartenders, some of these, you know, wait staff.
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: And so that was going to be like a way
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: to kind of integrate the new people in would be
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: the staff from that place. Obviously, when Scandival happened, like
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: the place got hit and nobody went there. Like people
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: boycotted and stuff. But so it was a major like, OK,
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: that was an insane thing to be a part of
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: filming that, like all of it in real time. And
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: the paparazzi was like following our crew van.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: We're like going to shoot our scenes and we've got
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: like paparazzi and shit. Like I was like, I have
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: to start fucking thinking more about what I'm wearing to
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: work because every day we're on set, there's pictures somewhere.
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: And so like it was a wild, wild time and
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: a wild thing to to be a part of. And
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: I cannot imagine what it was like for like the
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: people at the center of it, meaning like Ariana, Raquel, Tom,
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: just all of the, what that would have felt like.
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: I mean, to have like the president talking about it,
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: you know what I mean? At the White House Correspondence Center.
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: So with, yeah, here we are when this, Basically, then
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: they felt like it ended.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: This was the finale, the final.
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: Well, no, that was season. This is the reunion for
- 1:24:42Speaker 5: season 10. And then they came back for season 11.
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: Oh, there was a season 11.
- 1:24:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: And so 11 was when it ended. So this was
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: like the Scandaval reunion. Yeah, the Scandaval dress.
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: When she's in her revenge.
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: Dress and let them have it. And where Sheena and
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: Raquel could not be in the same place because there
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: was a restraining order.
- 1:24:59Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: So we had to keep them apart at all times.
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: But yeah, that was like an insane day. But they
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: came back for another season after that. And then, but
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: I don't know. What I find to be so, like,
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: insulting to this cast was that Bravo thought that they
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: could just, like, recast and, like, keep the show going. Because,
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: like I said, like, Vanderpump Rules was never about Lisa Vanderpump.
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: It was about Stassi, Jax, Sandoval, Katie, Kristen, Sheena. You
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: know what I mean? It was about them.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: And.
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: That's why it ran for 10 years, you know what
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: I mean? It did not run for 10 years because
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: it was Vanderpump Rules. So for them to like swipe
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: out all of the most important people and keep like,
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: It's like if you took the cast of Friends, right?
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: And after season 10, you swiped them out, replaced them
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: with all new actors, and you kept Gunther at Central Perk.
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Because that's what people want
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: to see is Gunther. But that's how irrelevant she was
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: to the show at the end. With all due respect
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: for the legendary TV she provided at the beginning. But
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: you see now people are watching House of Stassi. They're
- 1:26:10Speaker 5: watching The Valley. People are like, Is anyone watching Vanderpump Villa?
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: Did anyone watch Vanderpump Rules season 10?
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: Oh, Vanderpump Rules with the new cast.
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: Or season 12 or whatever. The new people of Vanderpump Rules.
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:21Speaker 5: It's like I don't think people– they're not tuning in
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: for her. They're tuning in for these people who they
- 1:26:25Speaker 5: like fell in love with because they showed up on
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: TV in their 20s in their most raw, authentic, like
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: Adderall-ed up selves, like fucking running loose in West Hollywood,
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: ripping and roaring.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: I think why they do keep some of the older
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: housewives where they go, God, my gosh, Vicki and Shannon
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: and the scooter. And it's like a senior citizen thing.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: And like, why don't they just reboot this thing? I
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: do think sometimes they're like, look, familiarity will get the
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: people to still watch.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: When you tell us.
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: Maybe like one episode.
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Like when you tell us, though, like an entire new cast,
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: like the Roni reboot.
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: That was just too much to ask of us.
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: Like, I do think the way to do it is
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: to slow, not slowly, but every, every couple seasons lose,
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: maybe lose one and bring in two, then lose two
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: and bring in one and lose.
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: And like, so that it does stay fresh.
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: But I know it's really hard. I know it's hard
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: to cast. I know it's hard to produce. I know
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: it's hard for the girls. Sometimes you don't always have
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: something going on in your life. So it's like, So
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: sometimes I'm sorry. Like I'm not going through the juiciest
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: divorce of my life. Sorry you're bored by that.
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: That's where they lost the plot though is what I'm
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: saying with like they forgot the real part. Because there
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: is real compelling shit to be seen in like the
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: quiet moments of someone's life. You know what I mean?
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: They're not facing the crazy fucking lawsuits of their husband
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: killing their plain victims or whatever the hell they did.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: I think for other people, they panic– And maybe producers
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: panic if they go, well, now this housewife has nothing
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: going on and they're not that like funny or interesting
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: or beautiful to look at. So something better happen with
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: them or they're going to go on pause. Like I
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: definitely think that can happen.
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: It most certainly happens. And they're all kind of threatened
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: with it constantly. Yeah. You know what I mean? Of like, oh,
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: nothing's going on. You know, like we're halfway through the
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: season and you haven't had like really a big moment
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: at all. It's.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: And they do talk to them like that?
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: It's not looking good for next, like, yeah, there's absolutely like, look,
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: it's not like looking great for you.
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: If this is going to be a discussion for next season. Okay,
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: so let's say that's me. Let's say that's me.
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: I'm season five, and I had some exciting things, and
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: I got divorced, and that was all fine, but now
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: my kids are in college, and I kind of don't
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: have anything going on, and you tell me that.
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: Is that when sometimes my character goes, and this is
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: made up, well, three years ago, My cousin, who I
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: was very, very close to, ended.
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: Their life or something like that.
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: So now I've got something that I can open up
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: to you about or another cast member.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: I can cry about it. I can become a spokesperson
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: for it.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: I'm going to say, hey, I want you guys all
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: to come to this event honoring my cousin.
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: A thousand percent. That is exactly what happens. So if
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: you're watching a show and like someone's been like kind
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: of sleepwalking through the season and then suddenly out of
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: nowhere there is like– I've got to confess that I
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: did that, you know, whatever, whatever. Some big revelation that
- 1:29:37Speaker 5: I have most likely had a talking to of like,
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: you're not giving anything. You need to fucking bring it
- 1:29:41Speaker 5: at Tuesday's all cast event. Or you might be downgraded
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: to a friend or whatever. You know what I mean?
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: In so many words, like there, there's always that, there's
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: always that like, like very loosely veiled threat.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: Of like, I think that's what makes it so hard
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: as a mother. Cause most of them are mothers. A
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: lot of them were at one time wives. Almost all
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: of them are divorced now, but it's, You are like
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: having to sacrifice basically your children, your marriage, your family,
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: maybe even like your husband's business, put something at risk
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: to keep your job. Yeah.
- 1:30:19Speaker 5: It all comes at a cost, for sure.
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: There must be times where they're fighting with their child
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: before you show up as a producer. And the 15-year-old's like,
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: I don't want to do it, Mom. Well, you're going
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: to do it. I'm going to sit down. You're going
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: to tell me how you were bullied. I'm going to
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: cry about it. We're going to talk about your speeding ticket.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: And that if anything was to happen to you, I
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: would be devastated. So the sooner we get it done,
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: the sooner you can go on your e-bike and ride away.
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: I'm sure that's happened.
- 1:30:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: Because there's times like there was one time with Jen
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: Padantri or whatever her name is on OC. And a
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: lot of people felt she was very much. This was
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: an acting moment with her son. And, you know, or
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: like even the new girl, this new girl on the OC,
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: she has a boyfriend.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: And four years ago, she's brand new.
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: We met her boyfriend and they have to sit down
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: and have a conversation about how four years ago he
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: cheated on her.
- 1:31:17Speaker 7: Fun.
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: Why are you bringing this? Like, why?
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: You know, like I'm saying, like in her interviews and stuff,
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: she must have said on the silver platter.
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: A hundred percent.
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: Besides me moving to Datapoint.
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: We're going to have to talk about that.
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: We're going to talk about his cheating.
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: We're going to talk about how my kids don't go
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: to school because they're whatever. And we're going to talk
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: about that. I was, you know, in Playboy and whatever
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: else is interesting about her.
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: But like, yeah.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: And it just I feel like after 20 years, not
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: just me, who's also produced TV and written for it.
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: Like everybody's onto it.
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: Everybody knows about the magic revealed of reality TV. And
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: it's just like, it's hard to now like sit back
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: and act like you believe in Santa when you're nine.
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: Like you don't believe in Santa anymore. So like, I
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: don't know how to pretend like I do.
- 1:32:02Speaker 5: I think it's interesting kind of the approach that Hulu
- 1:32:05Speaker 5: is taking with a lot of their shows, which is
- 1:32:07Speaker 5: just kind of fully embracing the breaking of the fourth
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: wall and acknowledging that they're on shows.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:32:15Speaker 5: Yeah, this one, for example.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: This is girls that Khloe Kardashian basically just wanted to
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: give her girlfriends a show, and I think she was like,
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: I probably had a producing deal with Hulu.
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, they have a big overall deal with Hulu.
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a bunch of pretty girls.
- 1:32:32Speaker 5: Well, I thought it was kind of amazing for her
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: that she could like, Be on the show. She doesn't
- 1:32:36Speaker 5: even have to show up. She just, like, FaceTimes into
- 1:32:38Speaker 5: the all-cast events and, like, narrates from afar. And they
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: don't have confessionals on this show. Right. Which, you know,
- 1:32:46Speaker 5: can be– like, they didn't have confessionals on the hills.
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: You know what I mean? True. And, like, Lauren Conrad
- 1:32:50Speaker 5: kind of– That's interesting. Yeah. You know, did the– Lauren
- 1:32:52Speaker 5: Conrad and Kristen Cavallari did the voiceover.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:32:55Speaker 5: And that's kind of the model they're using here.
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:32:57Speaker 5: And I think that– That will work in some instances, like...
- 1:33:06Speaker 5: And it can be a positive when it will help,
- 1:33:10Speaker 5: because this is what people do sometimes is they're like
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: confessional warriors, is they'll sit through the whole fucking scene
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: and they won't say a goddamn word. And then you
- 1:33:18Speaker 5: get them in the confessional and she's like, well, fucking
- 1:33:20Speaker 5: Rachel is a fucking bitch and Jennifer is a motherfucking hoe.
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: And they're like, whatever. And then they got all this
- 1:33:25Speaker 5: fucking smoke for the confessional, but they never said anything
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: in the moment.
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: So I think- I have a question about confessional.
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: Do writers give them lines to say? Because some of
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: those things just come out and they're just a little
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: too witty.
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: There are suggested like sound bites. Okay. Examples that are
- 1:33:45Speaker 5: given and use it. So what I would do in
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: that moment, I did most all of the interviews. Like
- 1:33:51Speaker 5: on Beverly Hills, I did all the interviews on that show.
- 1:33:55Speaker 5: And they would like post-production gives you a list of questions.
- 1:33:59Speaker 5: And then like a good producer is going to ask
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: like follow-ups and like follow and listen to the conversation.
- 1:34:03Speaker 5: But you're trying to work through all these questions. And
- 1:34:05Speaker 5: then for certain things, they'll be like, here's like a
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: specific like bite that they want. Here's the example bite.
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: I can't believe we have to do this all over again.
- 1:34:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: And then they'll either say it just like that or
- 1:34:18Speaker 5: like make it your own. You know what I mean?
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: But yes, there are times when there's like, say there's
- 1:34:23Speaker 5: like a very crucial piece of audio missing that like
- 1:34:26Speaker 5: the scene will not make sense without it. You'll have like,
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: here's a pickup. Can you please say like, well, I
- 1:34:31Speaker 5: would never trust Dorit. Again, you know what I mean?
- 1:34:34Speaker 5: And then they'll just like add that in while she's like, well,
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: you're doing an over the shoulder or something. You know
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: what I mean? Right, right. So there are stuff like
- 1:34:40Speaker 5: that for sure. Okay. But yeah, like kind of back
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: to this with Hulu's approaches, you're just like, you're acknowledging
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: full on that this is a show. You're not like
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: dancing around like, oh, well, you question my space in
- 1:34:51Speaker 5: the friend group. You know what I mean?
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: Like it's not a friend group. We're a cast. You
- 1:34:55Speaker 5: know what I mean? Right. And we're going not on
- 1:34:56Speaker 5: a girl's trip. We're going on an all cast trip
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: for the reason to– argue and fight. Like they kind
- 1:35:03Speaker 5: of did it on House of Stassi, um, which I
- 1:35:05Speaker 5: saw thought to be very refreshing. Um, the most fascinating
- 1:35:08Speaker 5: part about House of Stassi just for a second, I
- 1:35:11Speaker 5: thought was like, uh, Stassi and Katie kind of talking
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: about the PTSD and the trauma they endured of like
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: shooting Vanderpump rules for 10 years and kind of the
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: psychology of like how that was for them when like
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: the men were so protected on that show. And like,
- 1:35:26Speaker 5: Those kinds of things I think are amazing. And let's
- 1:35:29Speaker 5: lean into that and like the real effects of shooting
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: a reality show like this for a decade. At some point,
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: I think it's too much when we're like, we're going
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: to get these girls to a show and I'm going
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: to see if my friends can figure out how to
- 1:35:43Speaker 5: talk to each other at this dinner. And then they
- 1:35:45Speaker 5: show the dinner and the girls don't say anything. And
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: she's like, well, they didn't talk about shit. So it
- 1:35:49Speaker 5: looks like I got to drag my ass over to
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: the set and get them to say something else. And
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: so then she shows up and then she's getting there.
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: But you didn't open up about it. And she's like, well,
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: I thought I've been very open on camera so far.
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: So suddenly we're having a conversation about how open you
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: are on camera. And they're talking about the fact that
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: you're not open on camera.
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: I've only watched the first episode. Same.
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: I only watched the second.
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: And I'm hearing from people that have watched the whole
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: thing that it's struggling. It's not really captivating the audience
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: like a Mormon Wives or Stassi did.
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: Tap that into my veins. I loved Mormon Wives.
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: And I just think– I wonder if it's because– Again,
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: we know the Khadija and her sister, Malika.
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: We've seen them throughout the years.
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: We know the Olivia and the other girl from Canada,
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: the cousins. We've seen them on reality shows throughout the years.
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: The other two girls are fine. Like, I can see
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: why they chose them as the cast. I just am like,
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: there just isn't like, and they are young and stuff,
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: but it's a lot of them. Talking about dick size
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: and then like rolling on the ground and like laughing
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: and cuddling with each other a lot.
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: I just like, I don't know. There just isn't much
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: to it.
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: There wasn't much soul to it.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: There just isn't much to it. There's not much soul.
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: And the thing is, it felt like to me like
- 1:37:09Speaker 5: each one of these ladies, which they're beautiful, but like
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: each one of them is so like carefully curated. that
- 1:37:17Speaker 5: they've kind of designed themselves to be as neutral as possible,
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying? And so there's not any
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: polarizing figure that jumped out. The only one that kind
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: of jumped out at me was Iris. And that's because
- 1:37:31Speaker 5: she's the only one that seems to be getting laid,
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: you know? And they talk about it in the intro,
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: it's like, fashion. lifestyle, great sex. And like, she's the
- 1:37:39Speaker 5: only one having sex. And, uh, and, and then the
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: other girl who's got like the hottest husband, that was
- 1:37:44Speaker 5: one of my notes was like, well, one of them
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: has the hottest husband of any housewife in a while time.
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: And it is the girl, I think it's her.
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:52Speaker 5: Nicole.
- 1:37:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: So she has this super hot, like football player husband. Um,
- 1:37:57Speaker 5: and they never have sex apparently. And, um, then she's like,
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: starts to tell this like scandalous story about, she goes
- 1:38:03Speaker 5: up to the shower, he's in the shower. And then like,
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: Something weird is on the phone. And then all of
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: a sudden there's like bubbles on the floor. So I
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: knew he jumped out of the shower and he went
- 1:38:09Speaker 5: to go grab his phone. I'm like, who are you texting?
- 1:38:11Speaker 5: What are you doing? And he was watching porn. And
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: he was, he was like, I'm sorry, honey. I was
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: jerking off to porn. Now, granted, she just said they
- 1:38:18Speaker 5: have sex like twice a year, maybe or something. And
- 1:38:20Speaker 5: so I was like, give the guy, give him his
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: phone back and let him go fucking finish lady. You
- 1:38:24Speaker 5: know what I mean? Like, goddamn and she was like But, like,
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: he was watching porn. And I had told him, if
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: you're going to do that, I want it to be
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: of some old videos or pictures that I sent you,
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: not just some random porn star.
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: Sorry, it's never going to be you. It was, like,
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: so sex negative, baby. It's never going to be the one.
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: It's never going to be. Like, if you're not giving
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: that man sex but twice a year, honey, your face
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: is the last thing he wants to see when he
- 1:38:45Speaker 5: busts a nut. You know what I mean? Oh, my God.
- 1:38:47Speaker 5: I'm sorry. It was just so gross and sex negative and, like,
- 1:38:50Speaker 5: I don't know. I thought it would be nasty.
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: Have had a great time talking.
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: We have to wrap this up. You've given me so
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: many juicy stories. I really appreciate how honest you were
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: and talk about breaking the fourth wall. Tell everybody where
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: they can find more of you and follow you.
