- 0:06Oh boy, Well we're live, all right, So we're live here in
- 0:10the Montauk. This is the end. And that Donna's Donna, right that
- 0:15that and Donna's daughter no no nova wow, okay, the end. We
- 0:21are at the end, and John is uh it's cool. And so I
- 0:27met everybody at the art uh uh in town show. Is that it done?
- 0:32Are they finished with it? This year? Aust eighteen, nineteen twenty.
- 0:37All right, come on out, alright, alrighty good. So this
- 0:42is actually a trained depot. A depot means what what would you say?
- 0:49I don't know. I think it's a Greek word. I think it's a
- 0:51Greek word at like a home sometime. And it's actually across the street from
- 0:56the first indoor tennis courts that Carl Fisher created here and my lovely home up
- 1:02there on the Montauk manor up on top of the hill. All right,
- 1:04it's not my home, but I have something in there for twenty twenty so
- 1:08years. Now, hold on there it is okay, all right everyone,
- 1:14So this is a beautiful train station. This is a breadiful deepot. Percy
- 1:19Heath, who was on our board for many years and we love dearly,
- 1:23was part of this art association. And he was an artist and a boater,
- 1:26and and they play music. Johnny still playing music up here. So
- 1:32when when could people come in? Is it? Is it open to the
- 1:34public? Not right now, not yet. No classes going on, although
- 1:38I will say July seventeenth, we are having a local singer come and be
- 1:44singing here an hour show. Oh it'll be a five dollar covered charge.
- 1:49We'll serve wine. But we want to promote some local talent. Yay,
- 1:53all right, who's that? Who is that person? You remember? The
- 1:56name is? Oh my gosh, it's Pat Rose's grand daughter. All right,
- 2:01Pat, Pat the Roses's Granddaughter's gonna be here. I ask you to
- 2:06answer, I mean, come on as Pat the Roses's granddaughter. All right,
- 2:09here we go, and you'll probably remember her name in a second.
- 2:14Or you can email me. What would be good is emailing me? Uh?
- 2:19Actually something on the whole Depot gallery and then I'll put that with this.
- 2:23So tell us about the Depot Gallery now, okay, Thanks to Hanny.
- 2:29He was a local fisherman. He played jazz bass all over with the
- 2:34arts, and he played with Lyles Davis T. Phillespie all about thing in
- 2:38any event, he lived out here and as a painter, he started March
- 2:44of Artists organization and they met into his homes. They didn't have a place
- 2:49fortune as he somehows became friends with the president of the railroad Conway. Yeah,
- 2:55at some sort of event. They chatted and a depot was no longer
- 3:00going to be a functioning train ticket station, and Percy said, well,
- 3:04why don't you give it to us, because we need a place to be
- 3:07in Mantal Arts Association And that's there it is. And actually in nineteen ninety
- 3:13five commemorating one hundredth anniversary of the Long Island Railroad service to Manto, of
- 3:16which I believe Conway and a few other people made that happen because you could
- 3:21not get the train to come all the way out here, and I think
- 3:23that was a great opportunity for all of us. Right, so now you're
- 3:30able to have manshows every two weeks right now, And tonight's Saturday is the
- 3:36opening recession for Laurence leader Min. He's a young little guy. Be taking
- 3:40me photos, will not talking and beyond And people can check to see our
- 3:47schedule of shows on our website and we're open mid May to mid October,
- 3:53so we always have something going on here. Wow wow, So on tonight
- 3:59is Saturday today, thank you? And uh so, so you know,
- 4:05I want to learn how to do a stained glass and put glass together.
- 4:10And I don't know if you know, you know, I know about this
- 4:13guy Tiffany. Is Tiffany going to be here on Monday? Who is someone
- 4:18his spirit who's a teacher and our teacher and a glass spart is is actually
- 4:28doing a class on Monday, New into one thirty and it's a beginner's glass.
- 4:31It sounds intimidating, but it is simple and easy and it's not too
- 4:36late to sign up just through the website. But you can literally create pieces
- 4:41to teach how to cut glass, arrange it. And we have a kill
- 4:45so we'll actually find all things as well. So I mean, now put
- 4:48the the you know, the one piece to the next piece kind of thing.
- 4:53And is it kind of like you're bringing glass here like Benheim that's a
- 4:58that's a famous sub glass company and from Manhattan. Um, but you're gonna
- 5:02have a stained glass and you have glass or is it all white? Yes?
- 5:08Um? Glass fusing which you'll take different shapes. You'll cut your own
- 5:13glass Yeah, different color, sizes and shapes. Huh. Put them together.
- 5:16You'll either create a bowl or something to stand. You'll do your choice.
- 5:25So now you said you have a kiln. Okay, that means heat.
- 5:29That means you then take this glass. I don't this process. I
- 5:31don't know. I do know the other one a little bit um and I
- 5:34know I couldn't do it to that one. But the point is that this
- 5:40is you take it, you put it together, you put something on the
- 5:43corners, you put it together, and that kilm puts it makes it happen.
- 5:49Use all the glass layers together, so there's always a little bit of
- 5:54surprise. See when you put it in, its not always when you get
- 5:58take it out. Usually slumping. So it sounds like Matt cooking. Actually,
- 6:15uh, a lot of slumping. And so it's all good. Let's
- 6:19you have a website for here, this beautiful place. Okay, all right,
- 6:30one word, you know we're this is so peaceful out here and it's
- 6:34loving. Let's you know. I think I might have mentioned Mesca as I
- 6:38interviewed you over there at the Art of Events with our buddy Greg Sullivan,
- 6:43and so we're into the peace thing and we have a September twenty First we
- 6:46take a big event in Times Square for trying. We're trying our best to
- 6:51pause the world for peace. And actually my friend Ingrid, when you would
- 6:56here let me in the in the Mantoa and now we got palmte up at
- 6:59the Manta of matter. I don't know if you know that, but we
- 7:01love them on pechers. Mister Gurneys is up there and I married a few
- 7:05of them, Derek or Gurney type people. So uh our list, Oh
- 7:15wow, oh, I'd appreciate that. In addition, what is peace for
- 7:19you? All? Peace? What is peaceful? Mate? What makes you?
- 7:23What's peace? Peace for me? Is nature? Like I Nothing settles
- 7:30and counts me like hearing birds, the ocean, walking, beach walking,
- 7:34the boys. I know that's very um my, oping and self centered,
- 7:41but that's pieces for me and I and a lot of people don't have that
- 7:44chance to spend time with nature, and I think everybody I love it and
- 7:49I behind you is some like water there, Ali, John, what's peace
- 7:54for you? Talking about the boy house? Looking at it? Sound Yeah,
- 8:01you're right, that's all beautiful? All right, Thanks guys, appreciate
- 8:03it, Thank you. Thanks
