- 0:04Speaker 2: Stock up and save on your favourite beauty brands. Half-price
- 0:08Speaker 2: now at Chemist Warehouse.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It is and it's Friday morning. Hello, Mikey, Amy Girard
- 0:13Speaker 1: for Chemist Warehouse. Woo!
- 0:16Speaker 2: I'm so excited.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Are you?
- 0:19Speaker 2: I love Fridays.
- 0:20Speaker 1: You know what happens next week for you, though.
- 0:23Speaker 2: School holidays.
- 0:24Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I'm still coming to work.
- 0:27Speaker 1: You are?
- 0:28Speaker 2: In the morning, yeah.
- 0:30Speaker 1: No, yeah, we do the mornings, not the afternoons.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Actually, yeah, no, you're right.
- 0:33Speaker 4: It's going to be like a brick to the face
- 0:35Speaker 4: next week.
- 0:36Speaker 1: You've got your hubby, though. Can't he just take care
- 0:39Speaker 1: of the kids in the morning?
- 0:40Speaker 2: No, I've had to pull in every.
- 0:44Speaker 4: every kind of help i've got a babysitter coming on
- 0:47Speaker 4: monday morning i've got a girlfriend coming on thursday and
- 0:52Speaker 4: in my mother-in-law on wednesday because ryan still has to
- 0:55Speaker 4: go to work so it's like a normal work week
- 0:56Speaker 4: for him.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yes at the moment he's at eight he like right
- 0:59Speaker 1: okay he gets.
- 1:00Speaker 2: The kids to school yeah and like put him in like.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Uh some sort of camp or something i don't know.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Well, realistically, I only need the help from 8am to 10am.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yeah, then you can get home.
- 1:11Speaker 5: Because I'm home.
- 1:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 4: But it's going to suck because I'm going to be
- 1:14Speaker 4: up early, come into work, and then I'm going to
- 1:16Speaker 4: have to go home and then. School holidays, that's another
- 1:20Speaker 4: work shift, basically.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I remember last school holidays, you said you ran out
- 1:24Speaker 1: of things to do. You just took them on a
- 1:25Speaker 1: train one day.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And they loved it.
- 1:28Speaker 4: That was literally one of our outings, just riding a train.
- 1:32Speaker 4: I might get them on a bus these school holidays,
- 1:34Speaker 4: see what they think of that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Just keep going down the public transport.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Light rail, metro, taxi.
- 1:40Speaker 4: You know what my mum and dad used to do?
- 1:42Speaker 2: They used to bring us into the city.
- 1:44Speaker 4: We'd get the train and then we'd ride the monorail.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Remember the monorail?
- 1:47Speaker 1: Well, it's gone. Can't do that.
- 1:48Speaker 2: What happened to them? They were so cool. They were
- 1:50Speaker 2: like sky trains.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 7: I don't think anyone really used it apart from people doing–
- 1:56Speaker 7: School holiday activities. So I remember when they pulled it down.
- 2:01Speaker 7: It was sad for some people.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, we would ride the monorail and then we'd go
- 2:04Speaker 4: to Macca's because my dad was a policeman, so he
- 2:07Speaker 4: would get free McDonald's.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Do they still get free McDonald's?
- 2:10Speaker 2: I think they might. I'm not sure.
- 2:11Speaker 8: Free?
- 2:12Speaker 2: It was free back in the day.
- 2:14Speaker 4: I'm sure cost of living now, no one gets anything
- 2:17Speaker 4: for free these days.
- 2:18Speaker 7: But back in the day, wouldn't you just feed your
- 2:20Speaker 7: whole family Maccas all the time then?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Don't worry, grocery shopping. What's for dinner? Nuggets.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Again.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Type 2 diabetes.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 4: No, I would love to know if they still get–
- 2:32Speaker 4: I reckon it'd be subsidised now.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I doubt they'd be able to just swing on through
- 2:36Speaker 2: and get.
- 2:36Speaker 1: A free Macca.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Nah.
- 2:39Speaker 7: 13-106-5, if you know of coppers, still get free mackers.
- 2:41Speaker 7: Shouldn't nurses get free mackers?
- 2:44Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Thought back in the day, and we're going back like
- 2:47Speaker 4: 32 years maybe, I thought it was like people, like
- 2:53Speaker 4: ambulance officers, fire brigade and police.
- 2:56Speaker 1: What about radio hosts?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Absolutely not. No one gives a shit about us.
- 3:01Speaker 1: How are you, Sean?
- 3:02Speaker 5: Yeah, going good.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Friday.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Are you excited too, Sean?
- 3:06Speaker 5: Yeah, pumped.
- 3:06Speaker 8: Yes.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Don't you reckon it's just like even though you're at work,
- 3:09Speaker 2: it's Friday.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a good mood. It doesn't really matter.
- 3:13Speaker 7: Well, public holiday for our Victorian listeners this morning. So
- 3:17Speaker 7: it's an extra special Friday for you. And, of course,
- 3:20Speaker 7: that is because the AFL Grand Finals are tomorrow.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right. The bounce is tomorrow.
- 3:26Speaker 9: And the biggest news out of all of this and
- 3:29Speaker 9: this whole week has been Lockie Neal.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Will he play? Will he not?
- 3:31Speaker 9: Well, he's going to play tomorrow for the Lions because–
- 3:34Speaker 9: His appeal was successful last night. So he basically got
- 3:39Speaker 9: done for striking Jack Ginnivan.
- 3:41Speaker 2: He literally punched him in the face.
- 3:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 1: No, no.
- 3:44Speaker 5: He got him in the stomach.
- 3:46Speaker 6: Right.
- 3:46Speaker 9: And the footage was so grainy, which is so funny
- 3:49Speaker 9: to think about because there's so many cameras at these fields.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 5: And the footage looks like it was filmed on a potato.
- 3:56Speaker 5: It's terrible. But they appealed the one-match ban and they
- 4:00Speaker 5: were successful.
- 4:01Speaker 1: So he'll be out there.
- 4:02Speaker 5: He'll be out there tomorrow for the Lions.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I hate that.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you reckon? It's not fair.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Well, I just hate him as a man.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Oh, how come?
- 4:09Speaker 2: Well, because he did the dirty on his wife.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Oh, that's right.
- 4:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 2: And then when I saw that he got banned, I
- 4:14Speaker 2: was like, yes.
- 4:16Speaker 1: He just keeps getting away with it, doesn't he?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and then now that he's playing, I was like,
- 4:19Speaker 2: you're kidding.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Were they expected to.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Oh, right.
- 4:24Speaker 7: Sorry, we've got a caller on Maccas. One sec, though.
- 4:26Speaker 7: Are they expected to win tomorrow?
- 4:28Speaker 5: Frio are. Frio finished the season on top.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I really hope they do as well. When was the
- 4:33Speaker 4: last time Fremantle Dockers have ever won?
- 4:36Speaker 1: Is that the thing? They haven't.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Yeah, they haven't.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Whereas Brisbane have won a few times. They've won the
- 4:40Speaker 1: last three.
- 4:40Speaker 5: So they're going for three in a row.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah, so they're kind of like the Penrith Panthers of
- 4:44Speaker 1: the AFL.
- 4:45Speaker 7: They just keep winning. Yeah, let's have a chat to
- 4:48Speaker 7: someone who knows about Maccas, George.
- 4:50Speaker 5: Hey, George.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 8: How are you going? Good.
- 4:52Speaker 1: What's the deal? Do you get free Maccas if you're
- 4:54Speaker 1: a copper these days?
- 4:56Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 4:57Speaker 6: You end up getting 50% off.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Oh, that's still good.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah, not bad. But it was free.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that's pretty good.
- 5:03Speaker 2: George, do you remember ever being completely free?
- 5:07Speaker 5: No, no, I don't.
- 5:09Speaker 8: Yeah, maybe.
- 5:10Speaker 11: But, yeah, it was definitely 50% off because I used
- 5:13Speaker 11: to be a prison officer and now uniform is pretty
- 5:15Speaker 11: much exactly the same.
- 5:16Speaker 8: Oh.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Oh.
- 5:19Speaker 7: And when you walk in, I had no idea, and
- 5:21Speaker 7: they gave me 50% off, and I was like, well,
- 5:24Speaker 7: thank you very much.
- 5:24Speaker 9: And what are the rules? Do you have to show
- 5:26Speaker 9: your badge? Do you have to be dressed in the uniform, like,
- 5:30Speaker 9: or do they just trust you when you say that
- 5:32Speaker 9: you're an officer?
- 5:32Speaker 6: No, no, no, no. You're dressed in a uniform, so
- 5:35Speaker 6: you're basically on duty.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Yeah, and they're all like 13-year-old girls or whatever. They
- 5:39Speaker 7: don't know what they're doing, so they see a uniform.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Yeah, because if you were to walk in there, George,
- 5:43Speaker 4: in your plain clothes, like your weekend clothes, you're not
- 5:45Speaker 4: getting 50% off.
- 5:46Speaker 2: No, you are.
- 5:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Hey, can't I.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Just start wearing a police uniform to Maccas now?
- 5:52Speaker 2: Worth buying a police uniform.
- 5:54Speaker 4: We'll get a costume box or something and just wear
- 5:57Speaker 4: it every time we go to Maccas.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Like the stripper ones.
- 5:59Speaker 7: Do male strippers who dress up as coppers get free Maccas?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Probably. They must.
- 6:04Speaker 5: They probably do.
- 6:06Speaker 7: Hey, another thing going around, you were talking about tax cheats, man.
- 6:09Speaker 9: Yeah, so apparently we're getting sick of tax cheats. The
- 6:12Speaker 9: ATO reckons in the last year, 52,000 tip-offs have been
- 6:16Speaker 9: called into the ATO. The main things that we're getting
- 6:20Speaker 9: annoyed with is tax evasion, unpaid super, that kind of thing.
- 6:24Speaker 9: A lot of businesses that sort of just go, oh,
- 6:26Speaker 9: we don't do FBOS here.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Oh, I don't do them.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 1: If you do cash only, I know what you're doing.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Good luck. You're reporting that you make under $ 70, 000 a
- 6:37Speaker 1: year so you don't pay GST, whatever.
- 6:39Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 7: I'm not supporting you. Not because I particularly care. I
- 6:43Speaker 7: just don't have cash.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I remember walking into a burger shop and it was
- 6:46Speaker 1: like world famous burgers. Everyone was going on about it.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, this will be exciting. So
- 6:50Speaker 1: I ordered a burger and she goes, cash only.
- 6:53Speaker 6: Oh.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Who has cash on them? I never have cash on me.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Nah.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Would you job them in, though?
- 6:59Speaker 12: No.
- 7:00Speaker 5: I know.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I've got friends who are, like, same thing. Like, and
- 7:05Speaker 2: I get it.
- 7:05Speaker 4: I think a lot of tradies, they take cash. Like,
- 7:08Speaker 4: a lot of people do it.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Some get paid with a hairy checkbook, too. But, yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 1: cash only. Heaps of tradies do cash jobs.
- 7:18Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 7:18Speaker 5: And I.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I feel like where you can, fine.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 4: But if you're just constantly rorting the tax system, I
- 7:25Speaker 4: get the shits because I'm like, I pay my tax.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I pay all of my tax.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Yeah, right?
- 7:29Speaker 1: Well, you have to.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And everyone does, right? And people get taxed more.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Hang on, can't we ask them to pay us here
- 7:35Speaker 1: in cash only? Should have been part of our new contract.
- 7:37Speaker 2: We should try, yeah. Well, you've just said it on
- 7:40Speaker 2: air now. Someone's going to dob us in.
- 7:42Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 1: How good would that be? But, yeah, if we have
- 7:44Speaker 1: to pay tax, why doesn't that little shop sell on
- 7:47Speaker 1: dodgy vapes?
- 7:47Speaker 4: Having said that, I'm not Karen-ing.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I'm not dobbing anyone in.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Can you imagine calling in?
- 7:55Speaker 4: It's the people who leave reviews on, like, hotel rooms
- 7:57Speaker 4: and stuff.
- 7:58Speaker 1: They're calling in.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Hey, on the show, Harry Jowsey hanging out. We're going
- 8:02Speaker 7: to send a lucky listener to the Formula One Grand Prix.
- 8:06Speaker 7: Thousands to be won with a pop quiz. You could
- 8:08Speaker 7: win a car just after 7 o'clock. And right now,
- 8:12Speaker 7: Trady versus Lady.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Go and see Robbie Williams live, 131065, if you want
- 8:17Speaker 1: to play. Any update on Robbie Williams? Performing with Kylie tomorrow.
- 8:22Speaker 9: The more you say it, I feel like it's going
- 8:24Speaker 9: to happen. But there's no reports whatsoever that Robbie Williams
- 8:27Speaker 9: is going to be.
- 8:28Speaker 1: We'll say all thing.
- 8:30Speaker 10: No, I have some information on this. So he is
- 8:34Speaker 10: performing in Peru, I believe, today. And he's due in Chile.
- 8:39Speaker 10: In about three days. But technically, technically, there is a
- 8:44Speaker 10: gap in his schedule.
- 8:45Speaker 12: Right.
- 8:46Speaker 10: If he wants to fly from Peru to Australia and
- 8:49Speaker 10: then back to Chile, he could theoretically do it if
- 8:52Speaker 10: he wanted.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I love that people just jump on Facebook and just write.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Which is where I must have got it from. They
- 8:58Speaker 2: just make up theories.
- 8:59Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And then they go viral and they're like, oh.
- 9:01Speaker 7: Like, I wasn't talking crap. I fully heard Robbie Williams
- 9:05Speaker 7: was going to surprise us. by coming on stage with Kylie.
- 9:07Speaker 5: I'm just picturing you saw like an AI image.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it would be for sure.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Treddy versus Lady. Go and see Robbie Williams live.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Let's get you on to do it. Yes. And here
- 9:18Speaker 1: we go.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Good morning, Lisa.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Good morning. I'm really excited.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Thank you for picking me.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Oh, God love you.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Welcome along.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Yes, welcome to the show. What are you doing awake
- 9:31Speaker 2: this early?
- 9:33Speaker 13: I am a tram driver in our wonderful Melbourne city.
- 9:37Speaker 7: Yeah, and you're going to public holiday today, but you're
- 9:39Speaker 7: working through it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Are you?
- 9:41Speaker 13: I'm working through it. Some of us have to continue
- 9:43Speaker 13: to keep this beautiful city running.
- 9:46Speaker 4: And is there loads more people in the city? Do
- 9:48Speaker 4: people fly in to watch the AFL?
- 9:51Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 9:52Speaker 13: There is purple everywhere.
- 9:53Speaker 1: For the Dockers, yeah. So not as many Brisbane fans?
- 9:59Speaker 2: Well, I'm a Brisbane.
- 10:00Speaker 13: fan, so I'm hoping we have some more on the day.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Oh, you're hoping.
- 10:04Speaker 4: We're all rooting for the Dockers over here just because
- 10:08Speaker 4: Brisbane's already won the last two, you know?
- 10:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not fair.
- 10:11Speaker 6: It's not fair enough.
- 10:12Speaker 13: I get it, yeah. And I'm the same. Like, I'm
- 10:15Speaker 13: happy for either way.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. All right, so you drive a Subaru Outback.
- 10:20Speaker 4: You've been married for 20 years.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Two kids. How old are your children?
- 10:25Speaker 13: 26 and 24.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 10:27Speaker 13: Prior to marriage, you had them.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 13: Wow.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Don't worry, I had children out of wedlock too, like
- 10:35Speaker 4: the actual whore that I am.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yes, I know.
- 10:38Speaker 13: I had to see how it was going to go.
- 10:40Speaker 13: I had to see how it panned out.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Exactly right.
- 10:43Speaker 4: So when you were 17, your housemate brought a living
- 10:48Speaker 4: lobster home, put it in the sink, and what happened?
- 10:54Speaker 13: He said to me, could you just wait here? Give
- 10:57Speaker 13: me a call. So back then we had pages because
- 10:59Speaker 13: I'm that old. And leave me a message when it's
- 11:03Speaker 13: eyes closed because then it's ready. Well, I didn't even
- 11:06Speaker 13: ask what it's ready for or whatever. I just did
- 11:09Speaker 13: the right thing, sat at home and checked on this
- 11:12Speaker 13: mobster every hour or so.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Then.
- 11:17Speaker 13: It was about six, seven hours later that I just
- 11:22Speaker 13: rang and said, I don't think this is ever going
- 11:24Speaker 13: to be ready. I'm going out.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Was your housemate wanting to cook it?
- 11:30Speaker 13: And it was just that he thought it was so
- 11:34Speaker 13: funny because he knew instinctively that I would not know
- 11:37Speaker 13: that it didn't have eyelids.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Oh, lobsters don't have eyelids.
- 11:41Speaker 4: So lobsters never look like they've shut their eyes.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 11: Oh, my God.
- 11:45Speaker 4: So he basically pranked you and you spent seven hours
- 11:49Speaker 4: staring at this lobster.
- 11:49Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Oh, Lisa.
- 11:51Speaker 7: I've heard you're meant to put them in the fridge
- 11:53Speaker 7: or the freezer and that way they go to sleep.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but if you don't want to boil it.
- 11:58Speaker 7: Alive, which some people think is cruel, I think you
- 12:02Speaker 7: put it in the fridge and it'll, like, fall asleep.
- 12:04Speaker 1: And then you can bring it out and boil it.
- 12:07Speaker 13: Oh, not in a sink.
- 12:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:10Speaker 1: No, not in a sink.
- 12:10Speaker 2: But it was a good prank. Yeah, that was a
- 12:13Speaker 2: good prank. He did get you.
- 12:15Speaker 4: All right, weighing in at 89 kgs, it's Lisa the
- 12:18Speaker 4: Lobster Keeper.
- 12:19Speaker 8: Woo-hoo!
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, let's meet our tradie Shane. How you doing, mate?
- 12:26Speaker 6: Morning, guys. How are you?
- 12:27Speaker 1: Good. You're a tire fitter in a relationship, but no kids.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Good.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Good for you.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 12:36Speaker 1: You got an Isuzu D-Max.
- 12:37Speaker 7: Now, when you were three, so you're a toddler, you
- 12:40Speaker 7: threw a tantrum. And then what happened, mate?
- 12:45Speaker 6: My sister took the bike off me, so I threw
- 12:47Speaker 6: a tantrum and I ended up with a broken nose.
- 12:49Speaker 1: A broken nose? So what's your nose look like these days?
- 12:53Speaker 6: It's not so bad now.
- 12:54Speaker 8: That was a long time ago, so I've got plenty
- 12:56Speaker 8: of time to heal.
- 12:57Speaker 4: I'm impressed that you can remember this, Shane. I can't
- 12:59Speaker 4: remember anything before the age of, like, seven.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Oh, you reckon?
- 13:02Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 6: It's probably the one thing that stands out.
- 13:05Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I think traumatic. Yeah, you definitely don't remember, like, one.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Sorry, I remember one.
- 13:12Speaker 4: I remember one thing about kindergarten, like being terrified to
- 13:15Speaker 4: get on a bus and I loved lollies and junk
- 13:18Speaker 4: food and my mum tried desperately to bribe me with
- 13:21Speaker 4: a Milky Way.
- 13:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 2: And I was like, nah, no amount of Milky Ways
- 13:24Speaker 2: will get me on the bus.
- 13:25Speaker 1: So you would have been five?
- 13:27Speaker 5: Five, yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 1: They're making you get the bus to school.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I know.
- 13:30Speaker 1: At five?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah, my next door neighbour, yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 4: Wow.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Because her mum, anyway, I was like, I'm so tiny.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Wasn't there a school just around the corner from you?
- 13:39Speaker 2: No, that school wasn't open yet. Ah, so you.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Went to the other one.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 1: We grew up in the same area.
- 13:45Speaker 7: We will not have this in chat where we talk
- 13:48Speaker 7: about different public schools.
- 13:50Speaker 8: Right.
- 13:50Speaker 7: Okay, Shane, you weigh 90 kilos and you wasn't cruising,
- 13:55Speaker 7: but he's still got a bruising.
- 13:57Speaker 2: It's Shane.
- 14:01Speaker 1: All right, mate. Good luck. Here we go with Amy's questions.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Question number one.
- 14:06Speaker 4: In a wedding, what's the name given to the most
- 14:09Speaker 4: senior bridesmaid?
- 14:13Speaker 6: It would be the Maiden of Honour.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Yay!
- 14:16Speaker 2: Well done.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Have you got to have one? You do.
- 14:18Speaker 4: I don't think you have to have one. You could
- 14:20Speaker 4: just have two bridesmaids.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Oh, but typically you do, right?
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah, you typically have a Maiden of Honour, but you
- 14:25Speaker 2: don't have to.
- 14:25Speaker 4: It's not.
- 14:26Speaker 1: It's like the best man version.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yes. Right. Yep, yep, yep.
- 14:29Speaker 5: All right.
- 14:30Speaker 4: The four Cs of diamonds are cut, colour, clarity and what?
- 14:37Speaker 13: Carrot.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yes. Well done, Shane.
- 14:40Speaker 1: You're smashing it.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Okay.
- 14:42Speaker 4: What cosmetic product could have a green, violet or chocolate base?
- 14:53Speaker 10: Blush.
- 14:55Speaker 1: No.
- 14:56Speaker 5: Almost.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Fake tan.
- 14:58Speaker 1: What's the purpley one?
- 14:59Speaker 2: Oh, so it's all to do with different skin tones.
- 15:02Speaker 4: So like violet, I think violet if you're more olive
- 15:06Speaker 4: skin and green is for when you're a bit more pale.
- 15:09Speaker 4: So it's meant to come out looking the most natural.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You know what's big at the moment? My girlfriend's been
- 15:13Speaker 1: using them.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Spray tans. The automated ones.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Automated ones. And I'm like, I mean, I'm a dude.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I wouldn't know how to move my hands properly.
- 15:20Speaker 2: No one tells you. It's like, keep your hands like this,
- 15:23Speaker 2: keep your hands like this, turn. They actually do a
- 15:26Speaker 2: really good job.
- 15:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:27Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You should go and get one.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yes, you could. Basically, there's no overheads.
- 15:33Speaker 1: No, you don't do anything.
- 15:33Speaker 4: You have to buy it and store it somewhere, but
- 15:35Speaker 4: ultimately it'd just be making you money.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Do you think they got better? Because they're huge. Everyone's
- 15:41Speaker 1: using them.
- 15:41Speaker 4: They're really good. I will normally just tan myself, but
- 15:44Speaker 4: I have used them before.
- 15:45Speaker 1: What do you mean you tan yourself?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Well, I just do it myself at home.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Oh, you just rub it on?
- 15:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I don't have a tanning booth at home.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I had a girlfriend that had her own tan.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Did she?
- 15:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 5: All right, guys.
- 15:56Speaker 2: It's Lisa's turn.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Lisa. Hello.
- 15:59Speaker 13: I'm here.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Hello.
- 16:00Speaker 13: Ready and waiting in the corner.
- 16:02Speaker 1: All right.
- 16:02Speaker 9: Good.
- 16:03Speaker 1: We'll get you. In electrics, what would you use a
- 16:07Speaker 1: crimp for? A crimp.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Not to cut the wires?
- 16:13Speaker 1: No, not to cut. It's connecting two wires without soldering.
- 16:18Speaker 13: My son's going to be very mad at me. Was
- 16:20Speaker 13: he a sparky?
- 16:20Speaker 2: Okay, in boxing, what does TKO stand for?
- 16:22Speaker 1: TKO.
- 16:22Speaker 4: TKO.
- 16:35Speaker 13: Oh, God. Total knockout?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Oh, so close. It's a technical knockout. I believe that.
- 16:42Speaker 6: I'm out.
- 16:43Speaker 13: I'm out.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And it is the boy that wins today. Yeah, the boy.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yeah, the boy.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Get it, boy.
- 16:55Speaker 7: Good morning, it's Mikey, Amy Gerard. We're doing it for
- 16:58Speaker 7: Chemist Warehouse. Now, have you got your wedding ring on today?
- 17:01Speaker 5: I don't.
- 17:02Speaker 2: No, I do not.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Oh, that's because you're like appearing single. Is that why?
- 17:05Speaker 2: No, it's because I'm playing netball after this and I've
- 17:07Speaker 2: taken off all my jewellery.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, playing for the Diamonds again. That's it. You
- 17:10Speaker 1: guys play twice a week.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Well, because we're professional athletes.
- 17:15Speaker 7: Anyway, a third of Aussies in a relationship are currently
- 17:19Speaker 7: waiting to be proposed to.
- 17:21Speaker 1: That'd be women. They're waiting.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Or men.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Some women like to propose now.
- 17:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know how I'd feel about that. But 49%
- 17:28Speaker 7: of Aussies are putting off proposing because we can't find
- 17:32Speaker 7: the right ring.
- 17:33Speaker 2: As in like the men?
- 17:35Speaker 7: Yeah, we don't know what to do. We don't know
- 17:37Speaker 7: what ring. More people are worried about getting.
- 17:39Speaker 1: The ring wrong.
- 17:41Speaker 2: The ring wrong. The ring wrong.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Than having their proposal rejected. I've got to say from
- 17:46Speaker 1: a bloke's point of view.
- 17:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I don't want her to pick it exactly, but I'd
- 17:53Speaker 1: want her to like really point me in the right direction.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Can I say, I reckon actually what a really good
- 18:00Speaker 4: idea to do is.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 2: There's two ways.
- 18:04Speaker 4: You can either, obviously you're talking about it and like
- 18:07Speaker 4: let's say you and Alana were discussing getting engaged.
- 18:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 4: You could get her to like really pinpoint what shape,
- 18:13Speaker 4: what kind of cut she likes. You could potentially go
- 18:16Speaker 4: and get like a, like just a costume jewellery ring
- 18:19Speaker 4: and propose to that and then go and pick it together.
- 18:21Speaker 1: We can't just keep it at the costume one?
- 18:24Speaker 8: No.
- 18:26Speaker 2: I don't think that'll land.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So you're saying it's like a practice ring?
- 18:29Speaker 4: Yeah, like one of my girlfriends, she got proposed to
- 18:32Speaker 4: with an empty box and just a plain band and
- 18:36Speaker 4: it was like something from.
- 18:37Speaker 2: La Visa or just costume jewelry.
- 18:39Speaker 4: And he was like, I want to marry you, I
- 18:41Speaker 4: love you, all of these things. He goes, but I
- 18:43Speaker 4: want to get you the ring that you absolutely love,
- 18:46Speaker 4: so let's go and buy one together.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Right. Does that mean he paid for the whole thing though?
- 18:51Speaker 5: Yeah, of course he did. What do you mean?
- 18:52Speaker 7: Well, you said buy one together. Sounded like they might
- 18:55Speaker 7: have gone halves.
- 18:57Speaker 5: No.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Sean?
- 18:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I took Maddie.
- 19:00Speaker 9: We were out one day and she was like looking
- 19:03Speaker 9: through the window and I think I said something like, oh,
- 19:05Speaker 9: that one looks nice.
- 19:06Speaker 5: And then she's like, oh, I like that one. And
- 19:08Speaker 5: that's all I needed.
- 19:09Speaker 1: And you got that one? I got one.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Similar. Similar. So I just knew the style she wanted
- 19:14Speaker 5: just from what she said. And I was like, okay,
- 19:17Speaker 5: so that's what.
- 19:18Speaker 8: I'm going to go for.
- 19:18Speaker 7: Yeah, because we were in a jewelry store and my
- 19:20Speaker 7: girlfriend tried on this necklace.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Wasn't it like $ 1.
- 19:23Speaker 3: 4 million?
- 19:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Oh, no, that was another time.
- 19:27Speaker 2: That was so good.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Another one. Yeah, she tried one on and I was like,
- 19:30Speaker 1: because her birthday was coming up.
- 19:31Speaker 8: Yes.
- 19:32Speaker 7: And I was like, oh, I'll just get her that.
- 19:34Speaker 7: And she was like, oh, I'll get that. And she
- 19:35Speaker 7: just bought it. And I was like, well, I can't
- 19:37Speaker 7: do that now. But then she tried on these earrings.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and you went back and got them.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I went back and got them. So you could just
- 19:42Speaker 1: do that with the engagement ring.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 19:43Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:45Speaker 1: What did your man do with yours?
- 19:47Speaker 2: Mine?
- 19:48Speaker 1: That you don't wear because you want to appear single.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Love you, Ryan.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Ryan actually got a family heirloom ring of ours.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Oh, cheap.
- 19:56Speaker 2: From my great-grandmother. No, it's not cheap.
- 19:57Speaker 1: He stole it off her?
- 19:58Speaker 2: No, he actually, like.
- 20:00Speaker 4: My mum had spoken to me about it and stuff.
- 20:02Speaker 4: And she said, oh, would you like this? It's your
- 20:04Speaker 4: great-grandmother's diamond ring, engagement ring.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's beautiful.
- 20:07Speaker 4: It was a beautiful ring, vintage, cut and everything, but
- 20:10Speaker 4: it was like a trilogy set. So three diamonds, a
- 20:13Speaker 4: diamond in the middle and then two little ones either side.
- 20:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:16Speaker 4: And I had, you know, Ryan kind of knew he
- 20:18Speaker 4: was going to get that and I had mentioned I
- 20:22Speaker 4: like just the round diamond with like a halo, which
- 20:26Speaker 4: is where you get like the little diamonds around.
- 20:28Speaker 2: The ring of it.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Now, unbeknownst to me, my mum had passed this diamond
- 20:34Speaker 4: on to Ryan. Ryan had taken it to his jeweler
- 20:36Speaker 4: mate and said, oh, she just wants the one diamond
- 20:38Speaker 4: with the halo, so use the diamonds either side. And
- 20:41Speaker 4: the guy was like, nah, bro, like if there's three diamonds,
- 20:44Speaker 4: you've got to leave them all there.
- 20:45Speaker 2: The more diamonds, the better. So he put a halo
- 20:47Speaker 2: around all three diamonds. Ah, too much? When he proposed, oh, man,
- 20:52Speaker 2: I cannot. When he proposed, I.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I was like so taken back. I was also eight
- 20:57Speaker 4: months pregnant. So I look like a beluga whale. And
- 21:01Speaker 4: I was hot and sweaty and angry. And then I
- 21:04Speaker 4: remember I was like, he was doing this thing and
- 21:06Speaker 4: I was like, oh God, well he's proposing.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And it was all sweet. And I was like, oh,
- 21:10Speaker 2: loved up. And it was all happy. And then he
- 21:12Speaker 2: showed me the ring and I was like, what the
- 21:14Speaker 2: F have you done to it?
- 21:15Speaker 7: You kind of butchered your great grandmother's ring.
- 21:19Speaker 2: He did butcher it, but.
- 21:21Speaker 4: He was really nervous about giving it to me because
- 21:23Speaker 4: he kind of thought, oh, I think I've butchered this. Anyway.
- 21:26Speaker 8: Anyway.
- 21:27Speaker 4: We took it to an antique jeweller and I paid to– sorry,
- 21:32Speaker 4: he paid to have it remodelled in the way that
- 21:35Speaker 4: I wanted. So we kind of paid homage to the
- 21:37Speaker 4: fact that it is vintage, it's in a vintage basket
- 21:40Speaker 4: and all that kind of stuff.
- 21:41Speaker 2: It's a beautiful ring now, but, yes, he did not
- 21:44Speaker 2: get it right.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yeah. So beautiful you don't wear it.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I wear it all the time, just not when I'm
- 21:50Speaker 4: playing for Australia in netball.
- 21:52Speaker 1: So at the end of the day, dudes, stuff it up.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Of course, it doesn't matter. You women need to help.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 21:57Speaker 1: All right. Hey, maybe you screwed up the ring. 131065.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Maybe you proposed with a burger ring.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Could you do that?
- 22:05Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely.
- 22:06Speaker 4: You can propose with something really funny and then go
- 22:08Speaker 4: shopping together.
- 22:09Speaker 1: I mean, the burger ring would have so many additives
- 22:11Speaker 1: in it that that could last forever. Lauren's called in.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Let's chat to her. Hey, Lauren.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Hey, Lauren.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Hi, how are you?
- 22:19Speaker 1: Good. What's up?
- 22:21Speaker 3: I just literally got in the car after going to
- 22:24Speaker 3: the gym and I heard you talking about burger rings
- 22:26Speaker 3: and proposing.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 22:28Speaker 1: As a joke, yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yeah, just wanted to tell you my story. My husband
- 22:33Speaker 3: of 10 years next month did actually propose with a
- 22:36Speaker 3: burger ring in a ring box.
- 22:39Speaker 13: In a ring box?
- 22:40Speaker 3: In a ring box, yeah.
- 22:42Speaker 5: Wait, wait.
- 22:43Speaker 4: So he obviously planned to do that. Was that so
- 22:46Speaker 4: you could then go and choose a ring together?
- 22:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely. And I have the most beautiful sapphire engagement
- 22:52Speaker 3: ring now. And I actually still have the burger ring
- 22:56Speaker 3: to this day. So it's going on 10 and a
- 22:59Speaker 3: half years old in a ring box.
- 23:01Speaker 14: Oh, my God.
- 23:01Speaker 2: You did say that. You said that there would be
- 23:03Speaker 2: so many preservatives that it would probably last.
- 23:07Speaker 3: It looks pretty good, to be honest.
- 23:09Speaker 2: That's terrifying.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Hey, Lauren, I want you to eat it.
- 23:12Speaker 2: No, do not eat it.
- 23:14Speaker 5: No, definitely not.
- 23:15Speaker 2: No.
- 23:16Speaker 13: It's sacred.
- 23:16Speaker 3: I feel like it's really sacred, which is why I
- 23:19Speaker 3: kept it for so long.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Well, the fact that a burger ring has lasted 10
- 23:23Speaker 4: years and hasn't deteriorated makes me scared to ever eat
- 23:26Speaker 4: them again.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I know, right?
- 23:27Speaker 7: Have you ever seen, I think someone did a cheeseburger once.
- 23:30Speaker 5: It was a Macca's cheeseburger, yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 1: How long did that last?
- 23:33Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 23:33Speaker 5: It was years and years and years.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 23:35Speaker 5: And it looked the same.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, God. It freaks you out, doesn't it? That
- 23:40Speaker 1: is a great story. I love your man. I love
- 23:41Speaker 1: that story, Laurie. What a character, eh?
- 23:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it was perfect.
- 23:45Speaker 2: And then she got the ring that she, like, always
- 23:49Speaker 2: dreamt of. So everyone's a winner. I actually think it's
- 23:51Speaker 2: a great idea.
- 23:51Speaker 7: And the burger ring survived. Stephen has called up for
- 23:55Speaker 7: first calls.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Hello. Hey, Stephen.
- 23:58Speaker 8: What's going on?
- 23:59Speaker 1: Hey, man, what do you want to chat about?
- 24:00Speaker 8: The whole tax evasion system.
- 24:04Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 24:05Speaker 8: So, yeah, no, I think it's bang out of order.
- 24:08Speaker 8: Those that come over here and trillion, you know, screw
- 24:13Speaker 8: the system to the point where they'll come out on
- 24:15Speaker 8: site and they're saying, ah, what's tax? What's this? What's that?
- 24:18Speaker 8: But it's like, why did they get the pass in it?
- 24:21Speaker 8: And fair enough, people do cash and handwork.
- 24:23Speaker 7: Yeah, well, you're saying, Sean, more people are getting dobbed
- 24:26Speaker 7: in for tax avoidance.
- 24:28Speaker 9: Yeah, 52,000 people have dobbed in businesses in the last year.
- 24:31Speaker 5: So it's obviously, yeah, people taking cash.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And you're saying it's fair enough, mate. If you're not
- 24:36Speaker 1: paying tax, you deserve to be dobbed in?
- 24:38Speaker 8: Absolutely, because you have people that are in the higher bracket. Yes,
- 24:41Speaker 8: they pay higher tax, and you have people that, you know,
- 24:43Speaker 8: they're ABN or they're subbies, and they'll come out, and
- 24:46Speaker 8: so they're pulling in two to five grand a week.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 8: But that's cash to them. They don't go around and
- 24:52Speaker 8: declare that tax. They're like, well, you make a five grand,
- 24:55Speaker 8: and you've all of us that are paying anywhere upwards
- 24:58Speaker 8: of two grand a week in tax.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 8: But, oh, no, I think it's unfair, and I think
- 25:02Speaker 8: rightly so, and good on the lads who are dubbing
- 25:04Speaker 8: those people in, so.
- 25:06Speaker 1: My accountant has always said to me, because I've complained,
- 25:07Speaker 1: he's like, you know, the more tax you pay, that
- 25:09Speaker 1: means the more money you're earning. It's a good thing.
- 25:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Like, we don't like paying it.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 7: Like, and everyone tries to minimise the amount legally that
- 25:16Speaker 7: you can pay.
- 25:17Speaker 1: But, like, if you are paying a lot of tax,
- 25:19Speaker 1: it means you're doing well.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. But, yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 1: What else can you do? Get cashies.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 1: If they got rid of cash.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Which they will one day, I reckon. I reckon. Then
- 25:32Speaker 1: how are you going to have the dodgy- I reckon
- 25:34Speaker 1: we're all going to have.
- 25:34Speaker 2: A microchip in our hands.
- 25:37Speaker 1: A bit far. Oh, you can, though. Would you do that?
- 25:39Speaker 8: Beep.
- 25:40Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 1: You'd do it.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Take my money and just handshaking.
- 25:45Speaker 6: I know.
- 25:45Speaker 9: Some people are just worried about that sort of technology,
- 25:47Speaker 9: but I'm also just like, oh, that's pretty easy to do.
- 25:49Speaker 2: How easy is it now that you can get everything
- 25:52Speaker 2: on your phone? Like, I don't need a wallet. I
- 25:53Speaker 2: don't need a bag. I don't need anything. I just
- 25:55Speaker 2: need my phone.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Another reason why you don't need cash, right?
- 25:57Speaker 13: Exactly.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 25:58Speaker 7: Okay, celeb news coming up with Amy soon. You are
- 26:01Speaker 7: listening to Kiss.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 26:03Speaker 7: All right, Harry Jousey, the star of the Netflix show
- 26:06Speaker 7: Let's Marry Harry.
- 26:07Speaker 1: He caught up with Amy.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Okay, Harry, so I want to understand what is your
- 26:12Speaker 4: beef with Australian women? Because I remember you going on
- 26:17Speaker 4: Too Hot to Handle. I remember watching you on there,
- 26:21Speaker 4: and I remember you were like the only Aussie on there, right?
- 26:24Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah, I was the only Aussie. I was going
- 26:25Speaker 14: to say, I don't have any beef at all with
- 26:27Speaker 14: Australian women. I would have loved if there was some
- 26:30Speaker 14: on the show, but I didn't cast it, so I
- 26:32Speaker 14: didn't know what I was walking into.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I thought it was going to.
- 26:33Speaker 14: Be international and all over the world, but apparently not.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I feel like.
- 26:39Speaker 4: When American women or just even women from any other
- 26:43Speaker 4: country meet an Aussie guy, it's like.
- 26:47Speaker 2: The accent, probably.
- 26:49Speaker 4: The freckles over the nose, the fact that you can
- 26:51Speaker 4: play cricket.
- 26:53Speaker 2: And you're a bit of a larrikin.
- 26:54Speaker 4: I feel like Aussie people, women and men in general,
- 26:58Speaker 4: we've got quite a good sense of humour, right?
- 27:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 27:01Speaker 14: And it's just like, I think American women and we
- 27:05Speaker 14: love them, like not all of them are like this,
- 27:06Speaker 14: but I think it take everything a little bit more serious.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And whereas like you can just have fun in life.
- 27:11Speaker 6: Yes.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I remember going over to the UK.
- 27:13Speaker 4: We moved over there for like a year with my
- 27:16Speaker 4: whole family. And I was like a rotund looking little
- 27:20Speaker 4: thing and with like frizzy hair and freckles. But I
- 27:23Speaker 4: had this wicked Australian accent and I could bat a
- 27:27Speaker 4: cricket ball and everyone in grade.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Six just wanted to date me.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Not because I was good looking, not because I was
- 27:32Speaker 4: good looking, because I was Aussie, right?
- 27:34Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Well, no, I'm sure the looks helped.
- 27:37Speaker 2: No, there was no looks back then.
- 27:39Speaker 4: So this show of yours, 20 fiancés you start out with,
- 27:44Speaker 4: like is that every guy's wet dream or was that
- 27:46Speaker 4: a little bit more stressful than a lot of men
- 27:49Speaker 4: probably think?
- 27:50Speaker 14: They should have capped it at five. I think dating
- 27:52Speaker 14: 20 people in any way, shape or form is– incredibly
- 27:57Speaker 14: stressful and 20, like, very, you know, unique personalities and
- 28:01Speaker 14: different personalities. It was a lot. Like, it was really, like,
- 28:04Speaker 14: the first few days trying to figure out who's who. Like,
- 28:07Speaker 14: some people would just spawn in and I'm like, were
- 28:10Speaker 14: they here the whole time?
- 28:11Speaker 2: I had no idea.
- 28:12Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah, I had no idea.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Well, we obviously in Australia we've got, like, the bachelor,
- 28:18Speaker 4: the bachelorette, and I just think to myself, I actually
- 28:21Speaker 4: don't know– what woman would put herself on this show
- 28:24Speaker 4: and like fight for a man? And I know that
- 28:26Speaker 4: you probably get a lot of women who some are
- 28:30Speaker 4: a bit more, you know, reserved and they sit back
- 28:33Speaker 4: and they want you to approach them. And then you
- 28:35Speaker 4: get the other girls who are a little bit more
- 28:37Speaker 4: aggressive and they like bit dog, eat dog and they
- 28:40Speaker 4: come for you.
- 28:40Speaker 2: What was more appealing for you? The ones that were.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Really progressive with their advances or the ones who kind
- 28:46Speaker 4: of played it cool?
- 28:47Speaker 14: I think the ones that played it cool kind of
- 28:49Speaker 14: worked better for me. Because of the environment like that,
- 28:52Speaker 14: you're being forced to talk and to.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Communicate and hang out.
- 28:56Speaker 1: So it was going to happen.
- 28:57Speaker 14: Organic or not organically but it was it was going
- 29:00Speaker 14: to happen they were going to make it happen but
- 29:02Speaker 14: yeah it was it was really intense and I was
- 29:05Speaker 14: trying to figure out if I did like that if
- 29:07Speaker 14: I did like the laid back yeah it was pretty
- 29:09Speaker 14: uh pretty incredible.
- 29:11Speaker 2: And so you've obviously had a few years.
- 29:14Speaker 4: And you've dated a lot of women and you've had
- 29:17Speaker 4: a bit of an f-boy history is there a moment
- 29:20Speaker 4: in your life where like light switch flicks off and
- 29:23Speaker 4: you go I'm actually done with all this and And
- 29:26Speaker 4: I really want to find someone wholesome and I want
- 29:29Speaker 4: to settle down.
- 29:30Speaker 14: Basically, when my dad crossed over to the other side,
- 29:34Speaker 14: I was with my sisters and their kids and their husband.
- 29:37Speaker 14: It's all good. It happens. um and basically that moment
- 29:40Speaker 14: I was like I really wish I uh I really
- 29:43Speaker 14: wish I had this and I could show him my
- 29:45Speaker 14: family and my wife and people like my people but
- 29:48Speaker 14: I didn't have that um and I filmed a lot
- 29:50Speaker 14: of stuff for my future family him but that was
- 29:53Speaker 14: kind of the moment where I was like I really
- 29:55Speaker 14: need to to take this very seriously.
- 29:57Speaker 4: All right, so Mikey and I recently spoke about sharing
- 30:01Speaker 4: our location with, you know, partners and stuff and is
- 30:06Speaker 4: it right or wrong and sharing passcodes and stuff with
- 30:09Speaker 4: your partner.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Like, would you share your location?
- 30:13Speaker 14: Share my location, my passcode, literally whatever she wanted. I
- 30:16Speaker 14: think that's like, yeah, no boundaries.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Some people think that that's too far, an invasion of
- 30:22Speaker 4: people's privacy. I personally am like, if you've got nothing
- 30:24Speaker 4: to hide and you're not hiding anything, you're not doing
- 30:27Speaker 4: any shady shit, why wouldn't you, right?
- 30:29Speaker 14: Yeah, I just think it's like, what's the point? Because
- 30:33Speaker 14: then you're going to have doubts. They're going to put
- 30:34Speaker 14: doubts in their head. Just be from the jump. If
- 30:37Speaker 14: you want to go through my stuff, do whatever you need.
- 30:40Speaker 14: Everything's fine on my side.
- 30:41Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 30:42Speaker 14: I used to be the opposite in the past where
- 30:44Speaker 14: I was like, oh, this is mine. I don't want
- 30:46Speaker 14: you to look at it. I don't want to see my,
- 30:47Speaker 14: you know, my group chats with my guys. Also, like,
- 30:50Speaker 14: who cares? If it's your person, nothing should matter.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah, get away.
- 30:55Speaker 4: A recruiter has shared a take online that has divided
- 31:00Speaker 4: a few people. So, I'm not even going to say
- 31:04Speaker 4: her last name.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Caitlin Wayneinen.
- 31:08Speaker 1: You tried.
- 31:09Speaker 5: I did.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I love that somebody has tried to spell it out
- 31:12Speaker 2: for me. Wayne E.
- 31:14Speaker 4: Einan thinks that Gen Zs need to stop showing up
- 31:17Speaker 4: to job interviews with iced coffees. What? I actually am
- 31:22Speaker 4: quite taken back that Gen Zs would even do this
- 31:24Speaker 4: in the first.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Place, but they aren't.
- 31:27Speaker 4: I feel like they are known to be slightly somewhat
- 31:30Speaker 4: more relaxed and they love a mental health day and
- 31:33Speaker 4: they love to kind of.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Not work a minute past their clock off hours. But
- 31:39Speaker 2: have a listen to this audio.
- 31:40Speaker 8: It is perceived from my opinion, my hiring standpoint, that
- 31:45Speaker 8: when you show up with an iced coffee or an
- 31:47Speaker 8: iced latte that this is interview.
- 31:50Speaker 11: Is just like a stop on your list of errands
- 31:52Speaker 11: for the day.
- 31:53Speaker 2: It looks like you went to Target and you went
- 31:55Speaker 2: to Starbucks.
- 31:55Speaker 13: Now you're stopping by your interview.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Then you're on to the next thing. It looks a
- 31:59Speaker 2: little too casual to me.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Okay. So you've got a job interview.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Yes.
- 32:04Speaker 1: You rock up to it and you are holding an
- 32:07Speaker 1: iced coffee.
- 32:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 32:08Speaker 4: And I don't even think it's specifically an iced coffee.
- 32:11Speaker 4: If you turn up with a matcha or a Coke
- 32:15Speaker 4: Zero or like a coffee cup, I don't think that
- 32:19Speaker 4: is a professional look. I don't think that is the
- 32:22Speaker 4: way you want to present as a first image.
- 32:26Speaker 1: I get you. I don't know why it matters, but
- 32:28Speaker 1: it does matter.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I just think it's a respect thing.
- 32:31Speaker 4: I think when you're trying to land a job, you
- 32:34Speaker 4: want to look respectful, presentable. You don't turn up with
- 32:37Speaker 4: a drink in your hand.
- 32:38Speaker 2: She's right. Like it does. It's too casual.
- 32:40Speaker 1: And Gen Z's are doing it. Yeah. I mean, you
- 32:43Speaker 1: can go and have that coffee before.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Have it before. Have it after.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Or a lot of times you'll go to these interviews
- 32:49Speaker 4: and they'll say, hey, we're doing a coffee order.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Can I get you one?
- 32:52Speaker 1: Would you say no?
- 32:53Speaker 2: I'd say yes.
- 32:54Speaker 5: Always.
- 32:54Speaker 1: So that's okay.
- 32:55Speaker 2: That's okay, I'm sure.
- 32:56Speaker 1: What is it with people, by the way?
- 32:58Speaker 7: I know a few people in workplaces and just in general,
- 33:01Speaker 7: they always have a takeaway coffee in their hand.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Always.
- 33:06Speaker 4: I've got a girlfriend who will carry a takeaway coffee
- 33:08Speaker 4: in her hand. And I remember seeing her like three
- 33:11Speaker 4: hours after she bought it. And I said, I swear
- 33:14Speaker 4: to God, that coffee's cold. And she goes, yeah, I
- 33:15Speaker 4: like it like that. And I was like, What?
- 33:18Speaker 2: Why haven't you finished it?
- 33:20Speaker 1: What are you doing? You know what I mean? Always
- 33:22Speaker 1: holding a takeaway coffee.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Maybe they're like reformed cigarette smokers and they like the
- 33:29Speaker 4: hand to mouth.
- 33:29Speaker 2: No, that doesn't make sense.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Kind of. Anyway, if you're going for a job interview,
- 33:33Speaker 1: don't rock up with an iced coffee.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 33:36Speaker 4: Yeah, we're talking about sleepwalking because my whole family have
- 33:40Speaker 4: some sort of sleepwalking syndrome. I did a fair bit
- 33:43Speaker 4: of sleepwalking as a kid. My brothers both did. My
- 33:46Speaker 4: dad doesn't mind a sleepwalk. My middle kid has also
- 33:52Speaker 4: started sleepwalking.
- 33:54Speaker 1: It's passed on.
- 33:55Speaker 2: It must be hereditary.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I.
- 33:58Speaker 4: I think a lot of my sleepwalking antics happen after
- 34:02Speaker 4: I've had too many drinks.
- 34:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 34:03Speaker 4: A lot of mine's probably alcohol-induced, but my brother suffers
- 34:06Speaker 4: from night terrors. They're quite scary. They always come on
- 34:09Speaker 4: when he's getting sick and he has fevers. My youngest brother, his.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Is usually after he's been on the sauce too. But, yeah,
- 34:18Speaker 2: I just.
- 34:18Speaker 7: They're not always alcohol related.
- 34:20Speaker 4: No.
- 34:20Speaker 7: But, yeah, it can be induced. We're asking you, you've
- 34:22Speaker 7: got a sleepwalking story. Where did you wake up?
- 34:25Speaker 1: Where? What happened? What did you urinate on?
- 34:28Speaker 2: Did you take your pants off?
- 34:30Speaker 4: A lot of my sleepwalking involves me taking off my
- 34:33Speaker 4: clothes as well.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Randy Amy. Very odd. Elise has called in.
- 34:37Speaker 6: Hello. Morning.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Hey, Elise.
- 34:39Speaker 11: Morning.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Hi.
- 34:40Speaker 11: I was staying on a hotel in the Gold Coast
- 34:42Speaker 11: with some girlfriends and I woke up. in the lift,
- 34:46Speaker 11: pantless with just a singlet top on and had no
- 34:50Speaker 11: idea where I was, really disorientated. You know how you can't,
- 34:54Speaker 11: your singlet's only long enough to cover either the front
- 34:56Speaker 11: or the back?
- 34:56Speaker 5: Yes, yes.
- 34:57Speaker 1: What'd you go for?
- 34:58Speaker 11: So I went the front and I cornered myself into
- 35:01Speaker 11: the corner, but the doors opened at reception in the morning,
- 35:05Speaker 11: so it was packed full of people. I was pushing
- 35:09Speaker 11: the close button frantically, but could not remember for the
- 35:13Speaker 11: life of me what floor I was staying on. So
- 35:15Speaker 11: just let the lift ride wherever it went. I got
- 35:20Speaker 11: out at a random floor and tried to get my bearings.
- 35:22Speaker 11: Once I realized what floor I was on, I thought,
- 35:25Speaker 11: I'm not getting in that lift again. I'm going to
- 35:26Speaker 11: take the stairs. And I locked myself in the fire
- 35:28Speaker 11: stairs and had to be rescued.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Elise, this is the greatest story of all time.
- 35:34Speaker 4: You know I woke up next to a lawnmower in
- 35:37Speaker 4: somebody's backyard in their garden shed.
- 35:40Speaker 2: And I just woke up and I was like, what?
- 35:42Speaker 6: How?
- 35:43Speaker 2: It was the morning, like really early in the morning.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I woke up because it was quite cold. And I
- 35:47Speaker 2: walked out.
- 35:48Speaker 4: Thankfully, whoever's backyard it was, they'd hung out a load
- 35:51Speaker 4: of washing. So I stole a towel. And I had to, yeah,
- 35:55Speaker 4: I had stole a towel, wrapped it around me, and
- 35:57Speaker 4: I had to hail down Nuba and go, hey, Bart,
- 35:59Speaker 4: I'm so sorry. I've slept walked. I don't have any money, phone, cash,
- 36:04Speaker 4: nothing on me. This is where I need to get to.
- 36:06Speaker 4: And he goes, oh, it's just around the corner.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I'll take you.
- 36:08Speaker 1: All in your towel.
- 36:10Speaker 5: Well, I had a top on.
- 36:11Speaker 4: I had a top on, just nothing on the bottom,
- 36:13Speaker 4: like a lease.
- 36:14Speaker 1: That's crazy. Tim's called in too. Morning, Tim. Hey, Tim.
- 36:17Speaker 10: Morning.
- 36:18Speaker 6: How are you?
- 36:19Speaker 4: Good, man.
- 36:19Speaker 1: What happened?
- 36:22Speaker 6: Well, it's not me. It was my first introduction to
- 36:25Speaker 6: a sleepwalker. So my exes, I was staying the night
- 36:31Speaker 6: at my ex's family home. And we had nice dinner
- 36:35Speaker 6: and stuff. And then we ended up watching a movie
- 36:37Speaker 6: and falling asleep in the lounge room. And everyone said goodnight.
- 36:40Speaker 6: And about three in the morning, I hear this rustling around.
- 36:44Speaker 6: I look up into the kitchen and my partner's sister's there.
- 36:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Pretty much in the nude. I'm like, well, that's a bit,
- 36:52Speaker 6: you know, she knows we're here. I'm like, come on, Emmy.
- 36:56Speaker 6: You're like, what's the deal? Yeah. And then, so she's
- 36:59Speaker 6: just sort of huffling around the place. She gets a
- 37:01Speaker 6: little bit of milk out of the fridge and she
- 37:03Speaker 6: just starts sculling. And I'm like, fucking thirsty.
- 37:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:06Speaker 6: And then she starts making sandwiches, one after the other,
- 37:09Speaker 6: after the other, like the whole loaf of bread. I'm like,
- 37:12Speaker 6: what is going on? Because she's actually quite petite and
- 37:16Speaker 6: health conscious. I'm like, she's let herself go.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:19Speaker 8: Good.
- 37:21Speaker 6: And then she just watched her eat five sandwiches and
- 37:23Speaker 6: then just do a ginormous fart and walk straight back
- 37:28Speaker 6: out of the room.
- 37:31Speaker 7: So she's sleep cooking, sleep eating and fine.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Good on you, Tim. And did you like say anything
- 37:39Speaker 1: in the morning?
- 37:40Speaker 6: Yeah, and the next morning I was like, Emmy, we've
- 37:42Speaker 6: been hungry last night. She's like, what are you talking about?
- 37:44Speaker 6: I feel sick.
- 37:45Speaker 7: I wonder if people are putting on weight and they
- 37:49Speaker 7: don't even realize.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Well, if you're sleep.
- 37:50Speaker 12: Eating and you're not aware of it, and yeah, you
- 37:53Speaker 12: would be getting, like if you're putting away five sandwiches
- 37:57Speaker 12: in the middle of the night, you're going to be
- 37:59Speaker 12: stacking on the kgs.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Oh, it's so good. I wonder if there's anything you
- 38:02Speaker 1: can do to stop it.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Oh.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Tie yourself to the bed or something.
- 38:05Speaker 4: Well, I actually went and saw a sleep specialist because
- 38:07Speaker 4: mine kind of got a little bit out of hand.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Mine was because I hadn't dealt with a breakup.
- 38:13Speaker 13: Really?
- 38:13Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 38:14Speaker 1: So it's psychological.
- 38:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 2: She said to me that it was I hadn't really
- 38:18Speaker 2: processed it.
- 38:19Speaker 4: So when I was going to sleep, because obviously I
- 38:22Speaker 4: was drinking and stuff, my subconscious was kind of staying
- 38:28Speaker 4: awake and alert and trying to process this stuff that
- 38:30Speaker 4: I hadn't worked through.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Yeah, right. There you go. So you've got to deal
- 38:33Speaker 1: with your crap and then you stop doing it.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and I actually never slept walked again after that.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:37Speaker 2: So except for a few corners.
- 38:40Speaker 1: A few corners.
- 38:41Speaker 2: I do wee-wees in a few corners.
- 38:42Speaker 1: You wee in the corner?
- 38:43Speaker 2: Occasionally. Not all the time.
- 38:45Speaker 1: What are you, a dog?
- 38:46Speaker 2: Well, no, I'm not a dog.
- 38:47Speaker 1: You've got an ensuite, don't you?
- 38:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but it's always after a few drinks.
- 38:51Speaker 1: A lot of this is always after a few drinks.
- 38:53Speaker 2: And I think I'm on the toilet and I'm not.
- 38:56Speaker 2: I'm sitting on the end of my bed or something
- 38:58Speaker 2: like that.
- 38:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 39:00Speaker 5: On the way.
- 39:00Speaker 2: What an animal.
- 39:01Speaker 5: You are.
- 39:02Speaker 1: You're an animal. You drinking this weekend?
- 39:05Speaker 4: There will be some wines consumed, yeah, but nothing huge.
- 39:09Speaker 7: When's the last time someone said this to me? Because
- 39:12Speaker 7: you're as bad with drinking as I am. Actually, my
- 39:15Speaker 7: girlfriend texted me before and said, because she wanted to
- 39:18Speaker 7: do some activity.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I said, oh, there won't be booze there. I'm not
- 39:21Speaker 1: doing that.
- 39:23Speaker 7: And she said, I'd love to see what you spend
- 39:26Speaker 7: on alcohol a year.
- 39:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Well, I'm not. mean, I've got my own wine label.
- 39:32Speaker 2: At Last Wine, guys.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Penfolds.
- 39:34Speaker 4: No, it's not Penfolds. It's 2026 Vintage is out and
- 39:38Speaker 4: the rosé is absolutely delightful.
- 39:39Speaker 5: I want to try the Shiraz.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Oh, would you like to try the Shiraz? I'll bring
- 39:42Speaker 2: you in a bottle next week.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Can I have another bottle?
- 39:44Speaker 5: I'm happy to buy.
- 39:45Speaker 1: No, don't. You can buy.
- 39:48Speaker 2: You've already got a free bottle. Do you want to
- 39:49Speaker 2: try the rosé?
- 39:50Speaker 1: I don't like rosé.
- 39:51Speaker 2: You don't like rosé?
- 39:52Speaker 1: I'm like, can you be white? Can you be red?
- 39:53Speaker 2: I've got white.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Oh, you've got Chardonnay?
- 39:55Speaker 2: No, I've got Pinot Grigio.
- 39:57Speaker 1: I like that.
- 39:58Speaker 5: Pinot Grigio.
- 39:59Speaker 7: And I can't remember whether I like the Shiraz or not,
- 40:03Speaker 7: so just bring another one in.
- 40:04Speaker 2: You said you liked it, yeah.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Just bring it in again, you know, so I can
- 40:06Speaker 1: try it again.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I can't remember. Then you can actually support your mate
- 40:09Speaker 2: and buy a case.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Yeah, well, give me a free case.
- 40:12Speaker 4: That's the problem, Sean, because we sell direct from the
- 40:14Speaker 4: winery straight to consumer.
- 40:16Speaker 2: You have to buy in a case of six.
- 40:18Speaker 4: So it's a big ask asking people to be like, hey,
- 40:21Speaker 4: buy six bottles of rosé.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Like we do mixed cases.
- 40:24Speaker 4: So you can do like two whites, two reds, two rosés.
- 40:26Speaker 4: But it's still a big ask to ask people to
- 40:29Speaker 4: buy six bottles of wine that they've never tried before.
- 40:31Speaker 5: That's how I buy my wine though.
- 40:32Speaker 4: Well, and people trust me. People trust me because I'm
- 40:36Speaker 4: a high-functioning alcoholic, obviously. Yeah. So they know that I'm
- 40:39Speaker 4: only going to be delivering top-tier wine to the people.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Okay. Well, bring them in. That'll be good on Monday.
- 40:45Speaker 1: We're looking forward to that.
- 40:48Speaker 7: So you're saying you don't spend any money on booze?
- 40:50Speaker 7: You don't buy any other wine? Do you only drink
- 40:52Speaker 7: your own wine, you narcissist?
- 40:55Speaker 2: I drink all types of wine.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:57Speaker 8: Yes.
- 40:58Speaker 1: But during the week or the weekend, like tonight, you
- 41:01Speaker 1: just have an Amy wine.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Tonight we're going down, we're going away as a little family.
- 41:06Speaker 5: Oh, are you?
- 41:06Speaker 2: We've got a little Airbnb, yeah. And I'll take a
- 41:09Speaker 2: couple of bottles of wine. No, not of my own.
- 41:12Speaker 4: My own will be in there. But we'll go through
- 41:15Speaker 4: a few, me and Ryan.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Well, I would not like to know how much I
- 41:18Speaker 1: spend on alcohol.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Oh, that's what we should do.
- 41:21Speaker 1: No, I don't want to.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Where do you buy from?
- 41:23Speaker 7: Oh, just whatever bottle-o's near me. And I don't buy,
- 41:28Speaker 7: you know, well. It'll be like, oh, I need some beer.
- 41:30Speaker 7: I'll get some beer.
- 41:30Speaker 2: You buy a case.
- 41:32Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Oh, there's two bottles of wine on special. I'll buy that. Like,
- 41:35Speaker 1: I don't plan it, you know?
- 41:36Speaker 9: You should be working out how many, say, beers you
- 41:38Speaker 9: have a month and then probably get a carton or two.
- 41:41Speaker 1: But you don't want to go through that and know
- 41:44Speaker 1: how much you're having, do you?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Well, it's just the more savvy way to buy alcohol.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Anyway, you do you, boo.
- 41:53Speaker 1: I just don't like thinking about things like that.
- 41:56Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you got Mikey, you got Amy Gerard. Now, Amy.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:59Speaker 1: 60% of Aussies are in a really bad trap. A
- 42:04Speaker 1: trap many of us are falling into. What is it?
- 42:07Speaker 7: WhatsApp group chats, 59% of Aussies have fallen into what
- 42:12Speaker 7: they're calling a group chat trap, where we talk on
- 42:16Speaker 7: the group chat, but we don't actually see these people.
- 42:19Speaker 7: We haven't been in the same room as these people
- 42:22Speaker 7: for over a year, but every day we chat on
- 42:25Speaker 7: a group chat.
- 42:26Speaker 2: But I don't think that's a trap. I actually think
- 42:27Speaker 2: that's a great thing. You take away social media and
- 42:30Speaker 2: WhatsApp and stuff. If you do live separate areas.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Or you've got busy lives, maybe you're in different states
- 42:37Speaker 4: and stuff, without these kind of apps, you would lose
- 42:40Speaker 4: contact with so many people.
- 42:41Speaker 1: That's true. I've got a bunch muted, though. They can
- 42:43Speaker 1: be very annoying.
- 42:45Speaker 7: And I know you've got all the mums ones, but
- 42:47Speaker 7: I've got, yeah, there's a few there.
- 42:49Speaker 1: See that second one? That's my main mate's one.
- 42:53Speaker 2: There's a few swear words in there.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Yep.
- 42:55Speaker 1: You're all boring.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Look at my WhatsApp group chats.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Oh, you'd have 700, wouldn't you?
- 43:01Speaker 2: I have so many as well.
- 43:03Speaker 4: So you've got hormonal and unhinged, law-abiding citizens, family crew,
- 43:09Speaker 4: fave child, kiss-brecky bad bitches, netball, 2026 AP boys, Tuesday playdates.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Oh, my God. You've got so many. There are goal.
- 43:20Speaker 4: Crushers, under-8s, summer soccer players, Bali like there are so
- 43:25Speaker 4: many WhatsApp group chats but I like I've got some
- 43:28Speaker 4: girls I've got friends who live in Brisbane I've got
- 43:31Speaker 4: girlfriends who live in Perth because of these chats we're
- 43:34Speaker 4: always in contact with each other and it actually feels
- 43:37Speaker 4: like you don't miss out on you know milestone moments
- 43:39Speaker 4: in their lives and vice versa so.
- 43:41Speaker 1: It's a good thing you reckon I think.
- 43:43Speaker 2: It's a good thing.
- 43:43Speaker 4: I will say I have a little thing going on
- 43:46Speaker 4: with one of my girlfriends in the morning. She gets
- 43:49Speaker 4: up really early for the gym and she calls me
- 43:52Speaker 4: in the morning.
- 43:52Speaker 2: So we have a little powwow on the way to work.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Oh, I can't think of anything worse.
- 43:57Speaker 7: Imagine speaking to your mate on the way to work, Sean.
- 44:00Speaker 2: I can't see dudes doing it.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Anyway, we will chat like three, four times a week
- 44:10Speaker 4: on the way to work.
- 44:11Speaker 2: And it's our little thing at the moment. And then
- 44:13Speaker 2: we were speaking this morning. I said, when was the
- 44:15Speaker 2: last time we've actually caught up?
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Because I speak to her every day almost.
- 44:21Speaker 4: I feel like I know everything that's going on in
- 44:23Speaker 4: her life and vice versa.
- 44:24Speaker 2: But we worked out that I haven't actually seen her
- 44:26Speaker 2: since June. And she lives like 10 minutes from me.
- 44:30Speaker 4: But like I've got three kids and jobs and she's
- 44:33Speaker 4: got two kids and jobs and so– Yeah, you don't– I.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Actually think it's a good thing. I actually feel like.
- 44:40Speaker 7: You don't think it's a trap? Have you ever left
- 44:41Speaker 7: one of those groups? You know when you see their
- 44:43Speaker 7: name come up, it's like Amy.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Gerard has left.
- 44:45Speaker 2: I have actually never done that.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Have you left one?
- 44:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I leave all the time.
- 44:49Speaker 8: Do you?
- 44:49Speaker 1: Why don't you just mute?
- 44:51Speaker 11: Because it can't– I do mute it, but then I
- 44:53Speaker 11: choose to leave as well because I just don't like
- 44:55Speaker 11: a huge– like I'm like Amy.
- 44:56Speaker 2: I've got multiple of them.
- 44:58Speaker 4: I feel like mums and women generally do, so I've
- 45:01Speaker 4: got to leave at some point.
- 45:02Speaker 1: But when you leave, it comes up and says you've left.
- 45:05Speaker 5: Oh, I know.
- 45:06Speaker 1: What did we do to Amy? Why did she leave?
- 45:08Speaker 2: I know. I just mute it because I don't have
- 45:10Speaker 2: the balls to leave.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 1: All right. All this week, we have been giving you
- 45:16Speaker 1: the chance to go to the Formula One Australian Grand Prix.
- 45:19Speaker 1: It returns to Melbourne in April, bringing Australia's first ever
- 45:23Speaker 1: F1 sprint race. Tickets on sale October 6th, 12pm at grandprix.com.au.
- 45:29Speaker 1: But we have to pick... A winner right now, Amy. Yep.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Is it just a lucky dip?
- 45:36Speaker 1: Well, it's up to you, okay? So let's call someone.
- 45:40Speaker 1: You can pick whoever you want.
- 45:42Speaker 8: What?
- 45:43Speaker 2: I can't see anyone's name. Okay, that one.
- 45:46Speaker 1: You want that one?
- 45:47Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 45:48Speaker 1: This is Isabella.
- 45:52Speaker 5: Let's call her.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Hello?
- 45:54Speaker 1: Isabella, good morning.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 45:58Speaker 1: It's Mikey. It's Amy Gerard. You're going to the Grand Prix.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 46:04Speaker 13: Thank you so much.
- 46:05Speaker 8: Oh, my God.
- 46:05Speaker 2: This is amazing.
- 46:06Speaker 8: Oh, my God.
- 46:06Speaker 2: This is so exciting. Who are you taking?
- 46:09Speaker 11: I'm taking my dad with me Ferrari fan, so he's
- 46:12Speaker 11: going to be so excited.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Oh, that's so exciting. Oh, that's so sweet.
- 46:15Speaker 1: You're the Italians that love their Ferraris.
- 46:17Speaker 8: That's right.
- 46:18Speaker 2: You love the Ferraris. We have to. We can't go
- 46:21Speaker 2: to any other team. Oh, that's special. And sharing something
- 46:25Speaker 2: like that with your dad, very sweet.
- 46:28Speaker 5: Oh, I can't wait.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 46:29Speaker 14: Thank you so much.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Well done. So you got two race day grandstand tickets
- 46:33Speaker 1: to the Formula One Australian Grand Prix, of course, next year. Congrats, Isabella.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Enjoy it with your dad, okay?
- 46:40Speaker 2: Have the best day. Oh, thank you.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I'm so excited. Thank you. Thanks, Isabella.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Good on you, darling.
- 46:46Speaker 5: All right.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Now, last calls. With Veronica, who's called in. Hello. Good morning. Hey, Veronica.
- 46:55Speaker 6: Good morning.
- 46:55Speaker 4: Hi.
- 46:55Speaker 8: Hi.
- 46:57Speaker 1: What do you want to talk about?
- 46:57Speaker 11: Well, I just had a take on the whole bringing
- 47:01Speaker 11: an iced coffee into a job interview.
- 47:03Speaker 14: Oh, yep.
- 47:04Speaker 1: So apparently what, Gen Zs are doing it and you're
- 47:06Speaker 1: not meant to. Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Well, I'm part of that Gen Z group and I just.
- 47:12Speaker 11: Can't believe that that actually happened.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Yeah, so you wouldn't ever do that, would you?
- 47:17Speaker 11: Absolutely not.
- 47:19Speaker 3: I think that would be immediate, like, non-contender for the job.
- 47:22Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 2: It's funny, though, because I've got a girlfriend.
- 47:24Speaker 4: She runs her own business and she often is interviewing
- 47:27Speaker 4: Gen Z people and– She says, like, some of them,
- 47:32Speaker 4: they obviously finish at 5 p.m. They won't work a
- 47:36Speaker 4: minute past 5 p.m.
- 47:37Speaker 1: No, they're out.
- 47:38Speaker 2: They need to finish their job, although they can finish
- 47:40Speaker 2: it tomorrow. Yeah. Like, they take their.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Solid hour lunch break, which, I mean, I guess they're
- 47:45Speaker 4: obviously entitled to.
- 47:46Speaker 7: It's the work-life balance Gen Zs care about more than
- 47:50Speaker 7: we do, I suppose.
- 47:52Speaker 6: I know.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Millennials are pretty good. Maybe Gen Zs are onto something, yeah.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Adrian, you're on. Hello.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Hey, Adrian.
- 47:58Speaker 8: Hey, guys.
- 47:59Speaker 6: What do you want to talk about?
- 48:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, how are we?
- 48:01Speaker 8: Good.
- 48:01Speaker 13: I just want to talk about the same thing.
- 48:02Speaker 8: You just said millennials.
- 48:04Speaker 6: I'm a millennial.
- 48:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:05Speaker 13: Back when I was a kid, we learned that, like,
- 48:08Speaker 13: if you lost, you didn't get a ribbon.
- 48:09Speaker 8: Yes.
- 48:10Speaker 6: You had to work for stuff. You had to, like,
- 48:12Speaker 6: really get in there.
- 48:13Speaker 7: Although I'm a millennial, and I also was so bad
- 48:16Speaker 7: at sport, they made me play hockey.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:18Speaker 1: And I got a... I think it was the Encouragement Award.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 7: Because I literally couldn't even get a goal. They, like,
- 48:25Speaker 7: set it up for me to get a goal and
- 48:27Speaker 7: I still couldn't get it. Yeah, so I feel like
- 48:30Speaker 7: millennials were still getting some awards. But do your kids
- 48:32Speaker 7: get awards for everything, even if they're awful? Everybody gets
- 48:35Speaker 7: an award now.
- 48:36Speaker 4: Like, I remember you used to go to a birthday
- 48:37Speaker 4: party and they'd do pass the parcel and there'd be
- 48:40Speaker 4: 10 kids and there'd only be five presents. Whereas now,
- 48:43Speaker 4: God forbid, no one gets to miss out. No one
- 48:46Speaker 4: misses out. There's 10 gifts for everyone.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah, so we're making them soft gifts.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Aaron, you're on. What do you want to talk about, Aaron?
- 48:53Speaker 2: Hey, Aaron.
- 48:54Speaker 6: I want to talk about the group chats.
- 48:56Speaker 2: The group chat trap.
- 48:57Speaker 12: Yes.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Apparently, we're all stuck in a group chat trap.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Say that fast.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Group chat chat.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Group chat chat trap.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Group chat chat.
- 49:05Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 49:05Speaker 1: What one were we doing? Red leather, yellow leather.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Red leather, yellow leather.
- 49:11Speaker 1: You do those warm-up exercises, Sean?
- 49:13Speaker 5: Red leather, yellow leather.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Unique New York.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Unique New York.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Unique New York.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Unique New York. Anyway, what was it? A group, yeah.
- 49:22Speaker 1: So we're in a chat, but we don't actually speak
- 49:24Speaker 1: to these people.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Are you in a group chat trap, Aaron?
- 49:28Speaker 13: I'm in a group chat trap.
- 49:30Speaker 8: I haven't seen the boys for about two years.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Oh, why? Do they all live in different areas?
- 49:36Speaker 6: Um, no, we're all very close.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Just lazy. Yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 49:41Speaker 1: That's what happens. You get busy and you don't like
- 49:44Speaker 1: you talk on there. Like the, I mean, one with
- 49:46Speaker 1: the boys.
- 49:47Speaker 4: But don't you reckon Aaron, like because of the WhatsApp,
- 49:50Speaker 4: all your like smart ass comments and your inappropriate shit
- 49:53Speaker 4: and your memes, everything gets shared in there. So you
- 49:55Speaker 4: almost feel like you're not missing out on like that
- 49:58Speaker 4: catch up with the boys.
- 50:00Speaker 8: No, no, no, we're not.
- 50:03Speaker 6: You wouldn't want the group chat getting out, that's for sure.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Are you careful, Amy?
- 50:08Speaker 2: Careful how?
- 50:09Speaker 1: Well, I am.
- 50:10Speaker 5: How?
- 50:10Speaker 1: Well, I trust my mates, but, like, sometimes they'll put
- 50:12Speaker 1: a meme up there and I'm like, oh, I could– no,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I'm not going to comment.
- 50:16Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 50:17Speaker 1: You're one screen shot away from being cancelled. Are you– Sean,
- 50:19Speaker 1: you careful?
- 50:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it gets a bit crazy.
- 50:22Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 50:23Speaker 4: My group chat, like, we're all as bad as each other, so, like,
- 50:26Speaker 4: if one of us went down, we'd all go down.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but you might have more to lose as a
- 50:31Speaker 1: public figure.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. I trust all my girlfriends.
- 50:33Speaker 1: No, I don't trust my mates.
- 50:34Speaker 2: I actually don't think it's anything that– Bad.
- 50:36Speaker 1: To be honest. Oh, really? Yeah, mine is. It was
- 50:40Speaker 1: one the other day.
- 50:41Speaker 2: I can imagine yours.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I was looking at it.
- 50:42Speaker 5: What was the one the other day?
- 50:44Speaker 1: No, I'm not going to say it, mate.
- 50:45Speaker 5: Yeah, don't say it.
- 50:46Speaker 1: But when I looked at it, I was like, because
- 50:48Speaker 1: I had a really funny comment to add to it.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I was like, nope.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I even typed it out and I went, nah, delete.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Nah. Play it safe.
