- 0:06Thank God for his inexpressible gift.
- 0:11Tonight, I want to draw your attention to one of the most
- 0:15profound declarations. And promises regarding the death
- 0:23of the Lord, Jesus Christ. And if properly understood, if
- 0:29truly believed on, it has the power to exterminate every and
- 0:37any hindrance in the believing heart.
- 0:43From experiencing all that God has to offer concerning the
- 0:48Blessed Fellowship that Jesus Christ has purchased for us.
- 0:56Yes, this one statement that I'm going to quote to you that can
- 1:00be shared in one. Breath has such immeasurable
- 1:05force a force that explosively exalts, the person of Jesus
- 1:10Christ silences, every lie and fear regarding your standing
- 1:17before. God And motivates the believer
- 1:22to live a holy Life all at the same time.
- 1:27How is it that one single verse can unleash such blessings?
- 1:34What is it that these 16 words that the Holy Spirit has
- 1:38recorded for us in our own language?
- 1:41What is it about? Those words that can provide
- 1:43such power Hebrews 10:14. For by a single offering. he has
- 1:56perfected for all time those who are being sanctified For by a
- 2:05single offering, he has perfected for all time.
- 2:11Those who are being Sanctified allow me this evening to present
- 2:17you at least two glorious thoughts from this one, single
- 2:22statement. And the first thought that I
- 2:25want to bring to your mind and hopefully will reach your heart.
- 2:30Is the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice.
- 2:35For by a single offering this offering is not referring to the
- 2:41thousands upon thousands of sacrifices of beasts that were
- 2:46performed by the hands of a pointed priest.
- 2:49During the Covenant that God is established with the nation of
- 2:52Israel. Know this author who is
- 2:55obviously a scholar in the law in the Hebrew scriptures.
- 3:02He is speaking about a unique kind of sacrifice.
- 3:06He is speaking here about something that is inaugurated a
- 3:09New Covenant. A covenant that you and I are
- 3:12remembering today. I hope that every person in here
- 3:14is enjoying today and even beyond that, perhaps someone
- 3:18will enter into today. When you look at this sacrifice,
- 3:24this author is speaking about something that the great
- 3:27prophets have foretold the Jeremiah's, the ezekiel's and
- 3:30many others have pointed to this one offering.
- 3:36And although, this offering is speaking about a physical
- 3:38sacrifice. The world has never known an act
- 3:44of worship concerning the object of this sacrifice.
- 3:49The best of bulls and goats have been slain and they have been
- 3:53placed on many altars and sadly, the blood of men and even
- 3:58children have been shed by misguided and deceived
- 4:04worshippers of false gods. But this single offering that we
- 4:09are speaking of tonight deals with a sinless, man.
- 4:15Not that a son of Adam has been able to attain and maintain
- 4:20internal and external moral perfection.
- 4:23No, that is not the case at all because this man that we are
- 4:27speaking of who was sinless, was, in fact, God, incarnate,
- 4:32God, who became man, God, who took on flesh and this God who
- 4:39became, Man, became an offering. He became a sacrifice.
- 4:47How can it be? How can it be that God would
- 4:51become Men One? How can it be that God would
- 4:53become men with the intent of dying and to Die For What?
- 5:00And to shed his blood, for what? Well, this is precisely what we
- 5:04are going to look at. Can I give you the simple answer
- 5:06tonight? The simple answer to that grand
- 5:10question and series of questions connected to it?
- 5:13Is this because the justice of God required it and there was
- 5:19only one person who can satisfy it.
- 5:24Let me prove that to you and the very same chapter that I quoted
- 5:27that glorious statement from we are told in Hebrews 10 and verse
- 5:325 consequently when Christ came into the world, he said Look,
- 5:39what Jesus said when Christ came into the world, he said
- 5:44sacrifices and offerings, you have not desired.
- 5:49But a body. Have you prepared for me and
- 5:54burnt offerings and sin offerings?
- 5:57You have taken no pleasure. The Holy Spirit.
- 6:02Informs us that Jesus quoted a psalm.
- 6:07And he used these words in direct communication with the
- 6:11father. Oh, I pray that your heart would
- 6:13be open and hungry to understand what this reveals.
- 6:18God has indeed decreed and commanded to a nation to uphold
- 6:23an honor specific and elaborate rules concerning sacrifices.
- 6:29Animal, sacrifices blood sacrifices grain, offerings
- 6:33different sorts. But based on what Jesus is
- 6:36saying here is that such Acts were never God's ultimate will
- 6:41or conclusive plan in dealing with the fall of humanity.
- 6:47God has always had in mind. God is always from eternity,
- 6:50past had a more complete and a more effective execution against
- 6:56sin and death and it is found in one thing.
- 7:01The Blessed body of the son of God The second person of the
- 7:07Triune godhead becoming a man, this is what God always had in
- 7:13mind and everything that he instituted before that was just
- 7:17pointing to this. And they also testified of their
- 7:21inadequacy to actually satisfy this whole sin issue that you
- 7:27and I are very familiar with, in our own lives and are seeing
- 7:30destroy our world, even our own Nation day by day.
- 7:35God, desired a specific body. And that body would come from
- 7:41his son who lived with him, coexisted and has all the same.
- 7:49God like attributes, but would one day enter into our world
- 7:52because God has prepared a body for him to take on and we can be
- 7:57satisfied with that alone. If God desired and he willed
- 7:59that, then we can just praise God for it.
- 8:01But oh, he has given us glimpses of wisdom into why?
- 8:03That is the case. Why a body, why become man, why
- 8:10Escape glory and enter into a world that would hate him and
- 8:15despised him and reject them. Why?
- 8:18One of my favorite titles concerning the person of Jesus
- 8:21Christ is not a very familiar one, but it is packed with
- 8:25implication packed with power packed, with Glory.
- 8:31The last Adam, First Corinthians 15:45, Jesus is referred to, by
- 8:37Paul as the last Adam, what does Jesus have in common with Adam?
- 8:44Why give him such an identity. Why would the Holy Spirit?
- 8:49Bring us to that place of meditating on the aspect of
- 8:54Jesus, that is connected with our first parent.
- 8:58And the only thing that you can say about the strongest
- 9:01characteristic that these two shared Adam, and Jesus Christ,
- 9:05is this that they both operated as Representatives here on Earth
- 9:11for Humanity. Adam being created.
- 9:15First was appointed by God to be the federal head of mankind.
- 9:23This is a system that God has created and what that
- 9:26essentially means is that, in great measure, what Adam has
- 9:30done would have effect on those, who would come from Adam, who
- 9:35would descend from him. And because, Adam, as the
- 9:39representative mankind before God did not represent us.
- 9:43Well, we now share in the consequences of his failure.
- 9:48And because of that, we have been borned and we have been
- 9:52birthed into a sin nature inclined to rebel.
- 9:56And disobey the same God that he turned his back on in the
- 10:00garden. That is why we all have that
- 10:04disposition. That is why we have we have that
- 10:07sense of being drawn towards that which God tells us not to
- 10:11do. It's because we are born.
- 10:14We are wired this way due to Adam.
- 10:16And if you want to know more about that just read Romans
- 10:19chapter 5, Paul explains that in great detail.
- 10:21How by one man, many have been made transgressors And so we
- 10:27look at this and we think to ourselves.
- 10:28Okay well I understand that about Adam but what does that
- 10:30have to do with Jesus Christ while in honoring his own system
- 10:34and god-honoring the very thing that he's established from the
- 10:37beginning. He institute's a plan a plan
- 10:40that he is, of course, always known a plan in creating a new
- 10:45line of people. A new breed, a new family.
- 10:49And in this family, what would happen was a door, would be open
- 10:53for people to escape the line of Adam, which is a line Preparing
- 10:59People for condemnation. And to now be connected to a new
- 11:03family that carries Redemptive qualities and Promises.
- 11:11And as amazing as that news is such a thing will require
- 11:16something very important, very crucial impossible without may I
- 11:23add and that is a new federal head.
- 11:27That is a new representation for mankind.
- 11:32And what Paul does and what many of the authors do in the New
- 11:34Testament, with the prophets promise and pointed to is that
- 11:39Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Is that man, he is that man who
- 11:45came into this world with a much bigger project in mind than what
- 11:51even some Believers fail to understand.
- 11:55He came to now be the firstborn among many brothers.
- 11:59He came Now to create a way out and for us to come into a new
- 12:04place, a new nature, a new standing before the same.
- 12:08Holy God. The same.
- 12:10Holy God, that was sinned against him.
- 12:13The garden. Can now be satisfied through
- 12:16this one person. Jesus Christ.
- 12:19What does that mean practically? What does it mean for Christ to
- 12:23enter in as the last Adam Well means many things.
- 12:27Let me say this one important thing in the same way that we
- 12:31all inherited the effects that we all now are experiencing the
- 12:36consequences of atoms failure at the tree of the knowledge of
- 12:41good and evil evil. Now who comes on the scene, a
- 12:46new representation, a new mediator, Who doesn't fail like
- 12:53Adam did but who triumphs at another tree?
- 12:57Not the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil know, the tree
- 13:00that was on the hill called Golgotha.
- 13:04The tree that you and I sang about just a few moments ago
- 13:07that tree on Calvary. Everything started at a tree,
- 13:12the fall began at a tree and everything turned around at
- 13:17another Tree by another Federal head. in other words because
- 13:23Jesus Christ took on a body that was prepared and appointed by
- 13:31the father The same way that we have to experience what Adam did
- 13:37in his body. Now we can enjoy what Jesus did
- 13:41in his body and what happened to his body.
- 13:47For those who are in Christ, there's a transfer that occurs.
- 13:51An amazing transfer. This is what happens that
- 13:56through the currency of faith. Through belief through humbling
- 14:03yourself and realizing that you do need to be saved.
- 14:07There is this exchange that takes place?
- 14:10And in that exchange Adams headship is canceled and Christ
- 14:18Perfection is imputed unto you instead.
- 14:23What happens is now in that exchange, as Christ represents
- 14:27us. We now give him our sin.
- 14:33And then he who knew no sin became sin, so that in him, we
- 14:38might become the righteousness of God.
- 14:42That's the gospel. That's the centrality of what we
- 14:47believe. This is the significance of
- 14:50Jesus taking on a body. It wasn't a random stunt, it was
- 14:55required in order for God to be consistent with his own system,
- 15:01his own Justice And that is a fascinating thought, God,
- 15:07becoming a man but be careful. Be careful that in being so
- 15:13overwhelmed. By that amazing Act of humility
- 15:16that you dismiss. The reality of the Divinity of
- 15:20Christ, when Christ became a man, he did not dismiss.
- 15:26His divine nature know. His divine nature was equally
- 15:29required as he stepped in as the last Adam.
- 15:33And why is that? Because no mere man can even
- 15:37come close to performing the Perfection that Jesus performed.
- 15:42No mere man can obey God and fulfill the greatest commandment
- 15:46to love him with all of your heart, with all of your mind,
- 15:50with all of your strength with all of your soul.
- 15:52I want you to think about that for a moment, Jesus.
- 15:56Obeyed that commandment perfectly with every waking
- 16:01moment, he obeyed that commandment.
- 16:07And no mere man. No mere man can even fathom what
- 16:13it means to Bear the sin of the world.
- 16:18Every failure, every error, every perversion every internal
- 16:25crime external violation from the beginning Until the End
- 16:30Christ took upon his shoulders and because of that he was able
- 16:37to drink all of the wrath of God for yesterday today and
- 16:42tomorrow. No mere man can do that.
- 16:46So, the nature of God not just in his Humanity to be the last
- 16:51Adam, but also remaining as God is the perfect is the perfect
- 16:58combination. That would satisfy exactly what
- 17:02we all need. And that is why.
- 17:04When people ask this question, how can a man who is crucified
- 17:10for about a few hours apparently satisfy?
- 17:14What is demanded? Of all of us and that is eternal
- 17:17punishment for our sin. How does that correlate?
- 17:21How does the math work? And if you think that, that man
- 17:25was just a good man, A man who seemed to be, maybe a little bit
- 17:30better than others than you might have a valid objection.
- 17:34But if that man is the sinless Spotless.
- 17:39Eternal. Without blemish without error,
- 17:45without wrong. Then you have a different story
- 17:48altogether. Then you can understand how it
- 17:52is that such a man could be on the cross for a few hours to
- 17:57satisfy the wrath of God forever and ever.
- 18:02You understand, right? The identity of Christ helps us
- 18:06understand the very first statement of that verse that I
- 18:08quoted to you earlier for by a single offering who Jesus is
- 18:15makes this offering single and all satisfying.
- 18:23It's not just merely the act of dying.
- 18:25Its who died? It's who died?
- 18:31And there is no more need because of who died for repeated
- 18:34incarnations. There is now no more need for
- 18:38repeated bloodshed. Because of who Jesus Christ is
- 18:43what he has done is enough. One time for all time.
- 18:51And that is why he is the last Adam.
- 18:55We don't have to wait for another.
- 18:58We don't have to wait another representative to enter into our
- 19:01world to clean up this mess. He put a period mark.
- 19:05Through his Redemptive work, it's over.
- 19:08And while other religions are waiting for their own Messiah,
- 19:11we here today, realize he has already come We're not looking
- 19:16forward to Redemption though. We are waiting for our
- 19:20Redemption to be complete. It is finished.
- 19:25For by a single offering. What a thousand bulls and goats
- 19:31and birds as mountainous as those offerings, may have been,
- 19:37what one man did? Overshadowed at all.
- 19:40What one man did. Put everything into the back
- 19:44burner and now takes all the glory and all the honor and all
- 19:48the praise. Can I tell you something in a
- 19:52very confused age, where people are trying to figure out
- 19:55identity, whether that is the color of your skin and what that
- 19:59means for you and society. And now with the people who are
- 20:02being confused about what their orientation is and whether they
- 20:06are biologically, this or biologically, that allow me to
- 20:09It could very simple because God's word makes it very clear.
- 20:12There are only two categories of people in this world only to not
- 20:19white or black not rich, or poor Not educated, or uneducated not
- 20:25confused or straight. You're either in Adam.
- 20:30Or you're in Christ, that's it. Think whatever you want to
- 20:36think. Go ahead, establish your own
- 20:39subjective, understanding of the world, but may I suggest
- 20:42something take a peek at our world first before you give in
- 20:45to that. And realize that this word has
- 20:48always been the word of God. It will always be the word of
- 20:51God when I'm gone and Pastor Daniel is gone and every other
- 20:53church is gone, this war will be established forever. and this
- 20:58word declares my friend, our dear visitors, those who are
- 21:02members of this very local church, you are, either in Adam
- 21:07Or you are in Christ. Who is your representative?
- 21:13Who is your federal head? Who is that represents you
- 21:17before? God Oh, that's a statement that
- 21:21can end this whole meeting cannot but that's not the end of
- 21:24the verse for by a single offering.
- 21:28He has perfected for all time those who are being Sanctified.
- 21:35The first part of that statement tells us about the sufficiency
- 21:38of Jesus sacrifice, but the second part of that statement,
- 21:43informs us about the security of the believing saint.
- 21:50For by a single offering. Here's the consequence.
- 21:53He has perfected for all time. Those who are being sanctified.
- 22:01Notice because of that offering there is a certain group of
- 22:05people who have now been qualified to be in the presence
- 22:08of God forever. There are now a people who
- 22:14positionally speaking had had their record of debt vanquished
- 22:19and were made. Absolutely, and totally perfect
- 22:23in the site. Of a Thrice.
- 22:26Holy God. This is exactly what the
- 22:30statement is saying and most of us understand that most of us in
- 22:34here here to remember that and to worship God for that.
- 22:38But I believe in the bottom of my heart that those who even
- 22:40confess that truth, many of them have trouble, believing it with
- 22:44absolute certainty with absolute certainty.
- 22:47You might be wondering, why is that the case for one main
- 22:50reason? Because they examine their own
- 22:54lives, and they realize that their own attitudes and many of
- 22:56their actions fail to reflect that.
- 22:59That perfect standing that they've been assured of in this
- 23:02one verse and many other verses. I hope that if you're a
- 23:06Christian in this place, you can recall the first few steps of
- 23:11being born again that you can remember the sensation of having
- 23:16fellowship with God, when you realize that he has forgiven you
- 23:20and that he extends grace to you.
- 23:22I hope believer that you can recall the aroma of assurance.
- 23:29When you first were exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and
- 23:32your faith connected with that truth, I hope you have a
- 23:36testimony and you realize the lightness and you realize the
- 23:41freedom and you realize the enjoyment of Walking with God
- 23:46not in heaven now because of what happened on the cross.
- 23:52But you know what? I found to be true as an
- 23:54observation that even people who once rejoiced in that experience
- 23:58and that reality overtime, tend not to know it as much as they
- 24:04should. Or at least they distance
- 24:07themselves from that truth, that should produce a way of life
- 24:12that should produce a tangible Joy.
- 24:15And I think there are a couple of reasons why I think one of
- 24:18those reasons is that once the excitement and the thrill of the
- 24:22Gospel being believed on settles down though, it should never
- 24:25totally be removed as we walk in this journey.
- 24:29And we realize that it's not just about this height enjoy.
- 24:33But now there's war and there is a spiritual battle and you're
- 24:36dealing with the flesh. Some people are robbed of that
- 24:40Assurance because Satan never fails to remind them of his sin
- 24:44before they came to Christ. East or season of transgression
- 24:47before they came to Christ. They are haunted by a perversion
- 24:51that they have committed or serious error.
- 24:53That that seems to be absolutely unforgivable humanly speaking.
- 25:00And for others, it's not necessarily what they did before
- 25:04Christ that keeps surfacing in their minds eye.
- 25:07No no no it's not that. It's their failures.
- 25:11After they came to know Christ. It's their shortcomings that
- 25:16trouble them after they confess after they'd gone to the baptism
- 25:19Booth after that they have shared after that, they have
- 25:22come to be part of a certain Ministry.
- 25:25And at some point maybe even for a season.
- 25:29Have not been as faithful as they once professed to be.
- 25:35That is who I want to speak to tonight, as we are about to
- 25:37close in a moment. This is who I want to address.
- 25:41The one who is absolutely drained by doubt.
- 25:46The one who cannot find the strength to sing at least with a
- 25:50melody in your heart. The one who lives in fear at the
- 25:56thought of the return of Christ, instead of the anticipation that
- 26:00a bride would have concerning her wedding day.
- 26:04I want to address this truth to you and this is what I want to
- 26:09address to you for by a single offering.
- 26:13He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified
- 26:21Consider that. Consider that promise is being
- 26:25told to Christians who have not arrived at complete.
- 26:31Christlikeness, but who are on their way there.
- 26:35Who have not achieved sinless perfectionism.
- 26:40But who are being made holy day by day even though they may not
- 26:43perceive the progress day by day.
- 26:47The whole point here of what the author of Hebrews is saying is
- 26:51that you have been perfected, not those who are perfect but
- 26:56those who are being sanctified those who are submitting to God
- 27:01and allowing him to Chisel them and warn them and chastise them.
- 27:08And that Perfection is not based on your sanctification.
- 27:14How holy you are, how consecrated are how good you did
- 27:17in 2023 so far? It's by that single offering.
- 27:22It's the single offering that makes you perfect not how often
- 27:26you are growing in your sanctification.
- 27:29So that is a great Mark that you have been saved.
- 27:33And I think about that truth and I realized, okay, this is the
- 27:36only question I have to ask this is the thing that hopefully will
- 27:41crush the doubts in my heart that will give me the ability to
- 27:46sing with Outburst of joy and that will that will truly
- 27:51generate and motivate absolute consecration to the Lord at
- 27:55least as a desire. Here's the question that I asked
- 27:59and this is a question that I believe you need to ask.
- 28:02All you have to do is answer this.
- 28:05Was his sacrifice sufficient? Yeah.
- 28:13But but no but you don't know but you do understand what it
- 28:19was. No I'm not no no answer this
- 28:21question for me was his sacrifice sufficient?
- 28:29And if you can be honest, enough based on what you see in this
- 28:32word to say, yes. Then why are you afraid?
- 28:40And why do you doubt? And why do you concern yourself
- 28:44in night? Wondering, if your name is, in
- 28:46fact written in the Lamb's Book of Life?
- 28:50It's not about your performance. It's about his It's not about
- 28:55what you can do, it's what he's already done.
- 29:00It's not what lengths you go to or how long you pray or how much
- 29:05scripture you memorize know it's by a single offering.
- 29:10It's not by the blood that you can shed.
- 29:11It's not about the bruises that you have on your knees.
- 29:14It's not about the lashes on your back.
- 29:16It's not about how hungry you can make yourself.
- 29:18As you fast, it's not about how much you distance yourself from
- 29:22people because you don't want to be contaminated by worldliness
- 29:25per se. It's about that single offering.
- 29:29Was it sufficient? Did it complete, what it needed
- 29:33to complete that? It satisfy?
- 29:35Who it needed to satisfy? and if you can say, yes, Then I
- 29:42can say, behold your strength. And I can say, behold your
- 29:46security, then I can say, behold your song. then I can say,
- 29:52behold your joy and your reason and motivation to be holy To be
- 30:01set apart. To be sanctified.
- 30:06You know, there's a lot of debate about the Sabbath.
- 30:10Do we keep it is a relevant. Is that applying the New
- 30:14Covenant? Okay.
- 30:15If it is what day of the week, do we do it?
- 30:18Friday, Sundown to sundown to Saturday Sundown, Sunday
- 30:20morning, all these different things.
- 30:22And I don't want to undermine the importance of that kind of a
- 30:24conversation. But people who get caught up in
- 30:28that debate can miss the point. Just like the sacrifices were a
- 30:34shadow pointing to something that ultimately found its
- 30:37substance substance. In Jesus Christ.
- 30:39It is no different with the Sabbath.
- 30:43See the Sabbath? Yes.
- 30:44Was a actual command that people needed to keep but the Sabbath
- 30:49was a prophetic statement as well.
- 30:52One that would point to a future rest.
- 30:55A rest that would not be known once a week but arrest that
- 30:59would be known perpetually day by day.
- 31:04And not from work from your 925 per se.
- 31:09Not from your personal projects which you had to put on pause as
- 31:13you honor the Sabbath. No.
- 31:15But by different kind of work. I work that you and I are
- 31:19tempted to do more than to work an extra shift on a day in which
- 31:23you should consecrate it to worship God, more than that.
- 31:27Let me prove that to you in a final text in Hebrews and
- 31:31Hebrews 4 verse 9. So then and Hebrews 49.
- 31:41So then there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. for
- 31:48whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works
- 31:53as God did from his Hebrews 4. Is teaching with the Sabbath
- 32:02really is all about and yes, Paul gives Specific Instructions
- 32:06about how some consider one day holding others, don't and not to
- 32:10judge each other based on that conviction.
- 32:12But here we see the Hebrews who something.
- 32:14So masterful, so beautiful, so awesome.
- 32:18The Sabbath speaks of God's rest and there is a rest that is
- 32:22available for the people of God today.
- 32:24And that rest is greater than physical.
- 32:27Repose greater than giving the land.
- 32:30Rake know. It is a spiritual rest is an
- 32:33internal solemn piece. In that rest here, speaks of
- 32:42Jesus. And here's what Hebrews is
- 32:45saying in the same way that God exemplified what rest looks like
- 32:52by working, six days and seven on the 7th Day.
- 32:56Stepping back to enjoy and to rejoice in his work, you and I
- 33:02are called You and I are called not based on what you have done,
- 33:07but what I'm Christ has done to step back.
- 33:10Rest and to rejoice and what he has done.
- 33:16And you don't do that once a week.
- 33:17This rest. Touches every moment of your
- 33:21life. You walk in that rest, you sleep
- 33:25in that rest you travel in that rest you minister in that rest.
- 33:32Somebody ancient said it better than I would.
- 33:36Then the same way God. Rested from his work in
- 33:41creation. And in the same way Jesus
- 33:46entered into glory and sat at the right hand of God,
- 33:50physically demonstrating his rest from his Redemptive work.
- 33:56You and I are called to rest from The Works of the law to
- 34:02attain righteousness. Because we have now believed on
- 34:07the works that have completed it for us.
- 34:11That's what it means to know. True Sabbath rest.
- 34:16And when you and I are about to come to this, holy table.
- 34:21What you are about to do, if you are a born again, Christian in
- 34:24this place who could say in your heart, and this past 30 minutes,
- 34:28amen, amen, amen, amen. You are coming to this table and
- 34:34what you are also saying in your heart, is his sacrifice was
- 34:37sufficient, his sacrifice was sufficient, his sacrifice was
- 34:41sufficient. Nothing in my hands.
- 34:45I bring simply to the cross. I cling, that is what you are
- 34:49saying here. You're coming to the symbols of
- 34:52Jesus, but body and his blood. And you were saying this was
- 34:55sufficient, what he did 2000 years ago has made me?
- 35:01Perfect. For all time, though.
- 35:04I am still being sanctified. Do I have not yet arrived?
- 35:09And though sometimes it is a very very turbulent Journey.
- 35:14He has perfected me, he has made me whole, my record of sin is
- 35:19gone for by single sacrifice. There is a rest of a label for
- 35:25the people of God today. Do you have rest?
- 35:31Are you Restless? Do you have the assurance?
- 35:37That when you do meet God and you will meet God.
- 35:41You will meet him. Are you sure that you will be
- 35:46met with a smile? Or at the awful announcement.
- 35:54Depart from me. I never knew you.
- 36:00I want to tell you today that on this Good Friday, this God that
- 36:05I speak of this God in whom I bear Witness.
- 36:09Extends the cup of Fellowship to you and he desires you to be
- 36:14saved. He wants you to know this rest.
- 36:18He wants you to know the freedom of realizing that what he is
- 36:22done by single offering will make me perfect and keep me
- 36:26perfect. And he will hold on, to me until
- 36:29the end. This is what this is all about.
- 36:32And this is why we preach, we preach.
- 36:34The good news Christianity is about good news. the news is
- 36:40this salvation has come Jesus has come. a way out of
- 36:47condemnation, a way out of hell away, out of the power of sin
- 36:50has has come And he is still the last Adam.
- 36:54And the door is still open. You can enter in, and it's real,
- 36:59it's real, it's really real. You can actually no freedom and
- 37:04you can actually know what it's like for the burden of sin to
- 37:07roll off your back. And you can know the spirit of
- 37:10God will bear witness with your spirit.
- 37:12As Romans 8 says that you are indeed a child of God.
- 37:17But you have to repent. You have to believe.
- 37:22You have to trust that what he's done is enough and you have to
- 37:26declare him as Lord and Savior and you have to, yes.
- 37:30Let go of your sin. Be willing to say, I turn back
- 37:33from the very thing that put Christ on the cross.
- 37:35For you also have to let go of your righteousness.
- 37:40I will not rely on what I can do to, please God.
- 37:45I will trust that what Christ has done, he's done for me,
- 37:51that's the gospel that's salvation, and that's what I
- 37:54extend to you, this evening. Would you be saved?
- 37:59Would you be born again? What do you allow the spirit of
- 38:03God to transform? You would you allow him to heal
- 38:06you to restore? You?
- 38:09Would you allow him to do what psychologists can't do?
- 38:13What those pills? Can't do.
- 38:14What that bottle? Can't do.
- 38:16What your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your fiance, your
- 38:18husband, your children can't do. What your job, can't do.
- 38:21What the promotion can offer, would you let him do it?
- 38:25To fulfill you in to satisfy you, would you let him do it?
- 38:31Oh, don't Suarez hand away today.
- 38:34Time is short, time is very short, you're even having
- 38:38unbelievers, say it's, we're near the end, you have you have
- 38:42more unbelievers who believe in the last days than believers who
- 38:44believe in the last days, it's unbelievable to me.
- 38:48You talk to Believers. I think we're living in the last
- 38:49days. I don't know about that.
- 38:51Talk to unbelievers. Like yeah, I've never seen
- 38:53anything like this. It looks really bad.
- 38:57Maybe you thought that too? If you want to stay for another
- 39:01hour, I can tell you how it all points back to the Bible.
- 39:07We're about to break bread. And as much as Isaac's, I've
- 39:12extended that call to Salvation, I cannot extend the invitation
- 39:17for you to participate at this table unless you are born again.
- 39:22Jesus is the lord of the church. He's the master of this local
- 39:26church and he has instructed us to reserve this ordinance for
- 39:30those who are his children and we become children by faith in
- 39:34him and so we kindly ask not that.
- 39:37It affects us necessarily but because he is Holy and he does.
- 39:41He does see what happens here for your sake.
- 39:45Would you reserve yourself from participating?
- 39:47You have every right to observe and what you are, observing is
- 39:51exactly what I alluded to people coming forward to say what he
- 39:55has done is enough. And we eat these elements to
- 39:59even engage our senses regarding that spiritual truth, and it
- 40:04tastes good to us to symbol symbolize.
- 40:07The goodness that we taste in our own Souls regarding our
- 40:10Salvation. Oh, what a Salvation.
- 40:13Oh, what is salvation? Oh, what a name?
- 40:17There is something about that name.
- 40:18Would you agree? Believer.
- 40:20There's something about that name.
- 40:22And so what's about to happen now is that the team is going to
- 40:24come and they're going to sing over us.
- 40:29And you are welcome to sing as you come to the table.
- 40:32And as you return to your seat, we're going to sing about what
- 40:36this is all about and that you would reflect on that and that
- 40:40you would prepare your heart to do this in a solemn.
- 40:44Holy way as an act of worship to him who died for you believer.
- 40:49You're free. You're saved, you have been
- 40:53perfected for all time by single offering.
- 40:57Let's pray. Father, help us realize.
- 41:16The awesome significance. Of that single offering.
- 41:26So precious. So wonderful.
- 41:30So sufficient. That you take into account what
- 41:35took place then in your willing to apply it to this sinner
- 41:37today. We thank you that we don't have
- 41:40to come today. like on the day of atonement and bring another
- 41:44goat, Thank you, Lord, that we can come today with faith in our
- 41:51hearts to believe that what happened already is what you
- 41:55require. And is the only thing that will
- 41:58please you. Were overwhelmed by the love of
- 42:02your son. Were overwhelmed by the love
- 42:06that you show us, father. We're even overwhelmed in this
- 42:10place as the spirit has helped exalt Christ.
- 42:14What is we come to this table? Help us.
- 42:17Help us think deeply about the gospel.
- 42:20Help us think deeply about how this applies to us.
- 42:23And Lord, May the person who doesn't know you today, may they
- 42:27sense a holy jealousy to be part of this family, who has a
- 42:33faithful mediator. A faithful Federal head who will
- 42:38bring us home, who will bring us into?
- 42:40Glory to enjoy the presence of the father.
- 42:44Forever and ever in Jesus name we pray.
- 42:48Amen.
