- 0:03Speaker 1: Oh, shit. Okay, here we go. It's so funny. You did.
- 0:08Speaker 2: You did. You hella nailed it.
- 0:12Speaker 1: We did a whole episode. We just did a whole episode,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and I looked, and we weren't recording, and I blame
- 0:20Speaker 1: it on sleep deprivation. I understand.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I really relate to sleep deprivation.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Oh, my God. It's so, oh, it's so.
- 0:25Speaker 2: But we had a really fun time chatting. Dude, it was.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I was like, oh, we're talking about flicks and stuff
- 0:29Speaker 1: like that. You guys missed it. It was great. Bonding
- 0:31Speaker 1: was not lost. Yeah.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Just recording.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So, okay, so I want to reiterate all this stuff, too, because, like,
- 0:37Speaker 1: it was really interesting about how, like, You're into sketch.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yes. And you have your sketch name, your troupe.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So my improv troupe is Big Fun Murder, and we
- 0:50Speaker 2: are a completely improvised murder mystery.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Improv troupe.
- 0:55Speaker 1: That's right. And what's the best names you've ever heard
- 0:58Speaker 1: for a troupe?
- 0:59Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. Boy, oh, boy. I heard them.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Boy, oh, boy. Boy, oh, boy, oh, boy. Whoa. Oh,
- 1:06Speaker 1: my God. That's how their names are. They're just like
- 1:09Speaker 1: so out of like out of out of nowhere. You're like,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I like that. That's yeah, that's creative.
- 1:15Speaker 2: We have steamed hams. It's a local fave.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Steamed hams. Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Steamed hams. Double clap is a fun one.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Do you ever just ever like you ever just like
- 1:27Speaker 1: walk around and then be like and you just hear
- 1:29Speaker 1: something or. put some phrases together and you're like, I
- 1:32Speaker 1: would love, that's, that's a good one.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Sick improv.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yep. Absolutely. It's funny. And that's, those are those moments
- 1:38Speaker 1: where you have to write down, otherwise you'll forget it.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Absolutely. If anybody were to find my notes app, which
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm sure a lot of people can relate to, they'd
- 1:44Speaker 2: be like, this woman is a serial killer or she's
- 1:48Speaker 2: very mentally ill.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It's almost looks like, uh, like, like the seven. Yes. Yes.
- 1:53Speaker 2: When he finds all of this stuff.
- 1:55Speaker 1: You know, what's funny is I, uh, like, cause you
- 1:57Speaker 1: were talking about too, that you're in a film and
- 1:59Speaker 1: a big film major. Um, my, uh, my stepdaughter, she,
- 2:02Speaker 1: she's just recently got cool. And, uh, cool. Yeah. She
- 2:07Speaker 1: finally got cool. Cause she's like, she's developing my personality now.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And I was like, and it's funny cause my brother
- 2:12Speaker 1: went through the same thing when I was a kid. Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 1: He thinks that I was weird and I'm not fun
- 2:16Speaker 1: and uncool and all this shit. Right. And then like,
- 2:19Speaker 1: you know, cause he wanted to be a gangster and shit.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And I'm like, I'm over here.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Like you do.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I'm like, I want to be a thespian. No,
- 2:24Speaker 1: you know, I was like, yeah. And so like, you know, um,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I'm into films. And so she was just like, she started,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I got her into them now. Now she's like, she
- 2:35Speaker 1: really likes it. And she, so I've been going back
- 2:37Speaker 1: and watching nineties films and to get her into it though.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I knew that like she, she, she turned 20. And so, uh,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I know that the dude, like dating scene is like,
- 2:47Speaker 1: she's in a dude's like, or like boy crazy. Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, I think I know how to
- 2:52Speaker 1: get you in a whole bunch of nineties flicks. So
- 2:55Speaker 1: I did it the Keanu Reeves way. Perfect.
- 2:59Speaker 2: What a man.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Gotta love Keanu Reeves.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I was like, let's watch Constantine. And she was like, okay,
- 3:04Speaker 1: what's that? And I go, you'll like it.
- 3:05Speaker 2: John Wick. Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 1: John Wick fighting demons? Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And she was like, that's crazy. And then I go,
- 3:12Speaker 1: if you think, she's like, he's so hot with those tattoos.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And I go, if you think he's hot now, you
- 3:17Speaker 1: have to watch Speed.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Oh, Speed. Yeah. Speed's such a great one.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I haven't watched that in a long time.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I go, he's got a little weight on him. And
- 3:26Speaker 1: I go, and he's got a little butch haircut. And
- 3:28Speaker 1: he's fucking... And.
- 3:29Speaker 2: He's with Sandra Bullock, who's amazing, too.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And she was like, this is... And so we've been
- 3:33Speaker 1: watching all these, like, 90s flicks.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Great.
- 3:36Speaker 1: 90s is where it's at. Yeah, because it was a
- 3:39Speaker 1: really good time in film. Yeah. They say 99 was
- 3:41Speaker 1: probably one of the best years.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I've heard that.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Yeah. And I think that's really, like... I don't know.
- 3:46Speaker 2: You had action, comedy, suspense, thriller. Like, they were kind
- 3:51Speaker 2: of turning them all out at that time. Like, all
- 3:53Speaker 2: genres were really... rom-coms everything was rocking off yeah everything yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It was almost like a thing of um of a
- 4:00Speaker 1: of like an independent um time of uh like like
- 4:04Speaker 1: when music had its little renaissance too like when the
- 4:06Speaker 1: grunge scene came in like in 90 what 96 90 you.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Had rap really take off like a little bit right
- 4:12Speaker 2: before that hip-hop yeah yeah i'm a.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Big fan of of like all that like I love
- 4:17Speaker 1: going to the movie theater still. I'm a big movie
- 4:19Speaker 1: theater person.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I would prefer to see it in theaters.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, are you going to watch what's coming out
- 4:25Speaker 1: right now? Because we're talking about that too, about the
- 4:27Speaker 1: IPs that are like, things are like becoming original ideas.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Totally.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah. So is there any big summer thing that you
- 4:33Speaker 1: want to see though? Even if it is an IP?
- 4:35Speaker 1: Oh man.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I mean, I want to see Obsession. Haven't seen that yet.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Would prefer to see it in theaters. It's still in theaters?
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely still in theaters, yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Man, I'm trying to think. When does Dune come out?
- 4:50Speaker 1: Dune? Oh, I think it comes out, I want to
- 4:53Speaker 1: say July, right? It does. Actually, you know what?
- 4:56Speaker 2: Or is it like a winter release? I should know that,
- 4:58Speaker 2: but I don't know.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yeah, because I don't think it will be in July,
- 5:00Speaker 1: because July is already Odyssey. Odyssey?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Oh, that's right.
- 5:04Speaker 1: With Christopher Nolan's.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I would love to see that.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I think like the only way to see. You should
- 5:08Speaker 2: see that in a theater.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Definitely. In IMAX. Yeah. Did you hear about what was
- 5:12Speaker 1: happening with the tickets?
- 5:13Speaker 2: No.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So AMC's app crashed. And so because people were buying
- 5:17Speaker 1: up tickets.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Wow.
- 5:18Speaker 1: But also scalpers buying up tickets. So there's a whole
- 5:21Speaker 1: bunch of. That's. Oh. They put them online and eBay
- 5:24Speaker 1: for like $ 1, 500. About $ 1, 500. Yeah. That's unreal. That's fucked up.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Have you heard about, this is really cool, the new
- 5:31Speaker 2: program that a lot of theaters are adopting where you
- 5:33Speaker 2: get to go see a movie. You don't know what
- 5:36Speaker 2: it's going to be, but it's before it's released.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yes, I want to do it. Me too. I want
- 5:40Speaker 1: to do it.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It sounds so cool. I have a friend who's done
- 5:41Speaker 2: a few, and he was like, it's great. I got
- 5:43Speaker 2: to see this and this and this.
- 5:44Speaker 1: One dude told me, he goes, yeah, sometimes there's little
- 5:49Speaker 1: things that are unfinished, but he goes, who cares? And
- 5:51Speaker 1: I was like, yeah. I go, I watched. wolverine when
- 5:53Speaker 1: it first came out and they didn't have no blue
- 5:55Speaker 1: screen a green screen yet they kind.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Of like fun yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Yeah i like that i'm down i'm all about that
- 6:01Speaker 1: i um i used to review flicks and then um
- 6:04Speaker 1: go see like the early screens oh that was that's
- 6:07Speaker 1: coming out too in july.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah spider-man spider-man.
- 6:10Speaker 1: A brand new day like a new spider-man nice it's
- 6:13Speaker 1: funny tom holland's in two in july that are Blockbusters. Yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 2: It's weird how that happens.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 2: And it feels like they were working on them at
- 6:20Speaker 2: the same time, which, you know, the schedule was like
- 6:22Speaker 2: staggered and one took probably like years and one was
- 6:25Speaker 2: like a six month.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Production run or whatever. Yeah. You know, it's funny, too.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It sucks that we're in that podcast. That podcast is
- 6:33Speaker 1: so good. Because we're also talking about stand-up science.
- 6:36Speaker 2: We still have that.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah. No, because I was thinking about how you're good.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You're such good insight, too, on stand-up comedy that you have.
- 6:45Speaker 1: And same with the sketch. Because the way you were
- 6:48Speaker 1: talking about how– I'm sorry. I don't even want to
- 6:50Speaker 1: say it. I want you to say it. Yeah. No, no.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That's okay. Help me out. No, because you were talking
- 6:55Speaker 1: about how sketch and– because when I first started, people
- 7:00Speaker 1: were– it was a battlefield.
- 7:02Speaker 2: People are a little judgy about it sometimes. And really,
- 7:05Speaker 2: they coincide and mingle a lot. And we had talked
- 7:10Speaker 2: about the cool thing about stand-up is it's really combining
- 7:14Speaker 2: all these things that are prevalent in film, which is
- 7:16Speaker 2: when you're doing it, you are the writer, actor, director, editor,
- 7:21Speaker 2: producer of show, whatever. And you get to combine all
- 7:25Speaker 2: these skills in a live space, which is cool. So
- 7:29Speaker 2: they really coincide, and a lot of those skills are,
- 7:33Speaker 2: you know, they co-mingle, which is really cool.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're also talking, too, like, how, like, you know,
- 7:38Speaker 1: your arsenal, like, why wouldn't you want to use all
- 7:41Speaker 1: the colors of comedy in order to put out the
- 7:43Speaker 1: best product?
- 7:44Speaker 2: Right, and there's this tension with improvisers and stand-ups, and
- 7:48Speaker 2: I have a theory about this, about why there's that
- 7:50Speaker 2: tension between I think that they both want to do
- 7:53Speaker 2: what the other does.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 7:55Speaker 2: They're just afraid.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I think it's like, this is just how I feel. Uh,
- 8:01Speaker 2: so I won't say that. No, I, I kind of,
- 8:03Speaker 2: I hear it, but I, I hear how they talk
- 8:05Speaker 2: about each other and I'm like, you're just jealous. Like you,
- 8:08Speaker 2: and a lot of people will be open. They're like,
- 8:09Speaker 2: I could never do that. And I'm like, yes, you can.
- 8:11Speaker 2: You just are afraid of doing it. And that's okay.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Cause it's like, if you don't have an interest in
- 8:17Speaker 2: it or don't want to, that's fine.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 2: But I think that both can benefit from each other.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Yeah. I think I agree. And I think too, also like,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I think with the standup comics, but especially with like the,
- 8:29Speaker 1: with the, cause the improv, they're like, they don't want
- 8:31Speaker 1: to share the shine. Yeah. I find that be, I
- 8:34Speaker 1: find that the ego is too big. I don't want,
- 8:36Speaker 1: there's this stage isn't big enough for both of us
- 8:37Speaker 1: type of thing. That's why it's so hard for.
- 8:39Speaker 2: There's so much that goes into it. I think sometimes, uh,
- 8:42Speaker 2: standups don't want to rely on other people, which is
- 8:46Speaker 2: why they chose this form of.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah. And, They don't even want people to know that
- 8:50Speaker 1: they have writers.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Performing, yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Type shit, yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Totally, exactly.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It's one of those things.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And I don't want you to outshine me. If I'm
- 8:57Speaker 1: the straight man, what if I don't get recognized? Right.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And it's like, oh. And the comics that can do
- 9:03Speaker 1: the straight man, it's like, oh, man, he's great.
- 9:06Speaker 2: It's so fun to watch. We were talking about David
- 9:08Speaker 2: Spade to Chris Farley and how it's amazing to watch
- 9:13Speaker 2: Chris Farley, but watching David Spade Just be that person.
- 9:18Speaker 2: It takes a good actor to do that, you know?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 2: It's that they both make each other work. Without the other,
- 9:24Speaker 2: it wouldn't be as impactful, you know?
- 9:26Speaker 1: And the thing, too, like, you may not see that
- 9:29Speaker 1: person instantly, but over time, you're going to start recognizing that.
- 9:34Speaker 1: You're going to be like, you know what? Like, yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 1: Farley or, like, the other person, that was a loud sound,
- 9:40Speaker 1: but if we just, after it all dissipated, this person
- 9:43Speaker 1: was still around, and they were still... Now, think about it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: They're really funny, actually. That is such a good... Look
- 9:49Speaker 1: how they're just waiting patiently and then just a good bar. Boom, boom, boom.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And they're physically reacting to this other person. They're not
- 9:55Speaker 2: even talking, but they're just, you know, they're so inside
- 9:59Speaker 2: their character that... they are just physically embodying it. And
- 10:02Speaker 2: that's funny in and of itself.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I love that.
- 10:05Speaker 2: You're like, oh, I can feel how they're feeling.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm them. Yeah. I can see myself a lot
- 10:10Speaker 1: in them. I could never be that guy. I would
- 10:12Speaker 1: love to be that guy.
- 10:13Speaker 2: And then you also feel for the heel because you
- 10:15Speaker 2: can sometimes.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Be a heel. And you're like, oh, my God.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Like, I get that pain that they're in.
- 10:20Speaker 1: It also reminds me of Fight Club. Yeah. Yeah. Right.
- 10:25Speaker 1: That movie was nuts. 99. I think that came out
- 10:28Speaker 1: in 99, too.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Totally. Yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 1: It was like Matrix, Fight Club.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Die Hard.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Die Hard? Oh, with a vengeance? Or no, wait. No.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Die Hard. Which Die Hard?
- 10:37Speaker 2: Oh, was that 80s?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Die Hard was 80s because when Die Hard 3
- 10:41Speaker 1: came out during the Oklahoma City bombing, and so that's
- 10:45Speaker 1: why it made no money. Tragedy. Yeah, tell me about it.
- 10:50Speaker 1: That'll tank a movie real quick.
- 10:51Speaker 2: When did Jurassic Park come out?
- 10:53Speaker 1: That and Cameron Diaz. No, I'm just fucking around.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Don't be mean about my girl cat.
- 10:58Speaker 1: No, I'm just kidding. What were you going to say?
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 11:01Speaker 2: The Mask is also great.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I just recently bought it.
- 11:04Speaker 2: It's... Oh, what a great.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Buying all that social media back up.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Okay, we were talking about how we love, you know,
- 11:10Speaker 2: original ideas becoming more and more prevalent and kind of
- 11:14Speaker 2: steering away from franchises or reboots. But I... One reboot
- 11:18Speaker 2: that I absolutely want to see happen, and it was
- 11:21Speaker 2: briefly in, like, talks for a second... is the mask,
- 11:26Speaker 2: but with a female protagonist.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Why did I, I heard about this. Yeah.
- 11:30Speaker 2: And I just got dropped, but I want to like,
- 11:33Speaker 2: I would love to write that script or I would
- 11:34Speaker 2: love to see it happen in general. I just want
- 11:37Speaker 2: it to happen because the perspective is different.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Who would you cast?
- 11:41Speaker 2: Oh my God. Well, because I mean, Ashley Padilla is
- 11:45Speaker 2: on my mind.
- 11:45Speaker 1: That's right.
- 11:46Speaker 2: And I think she's going to be like, I think
- 11:49Speaker 2: she has what it takes to be that energy, a
- 11:51Speaker 2: movie star, comedic movie star. That can also do drama, obviously,
- 11:56Speaker 2: like full scale. But I think she would be phenomenal.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Man, I just think she could carry it. It would
- 12:05Speaker 2: take a really unique person to carry it.
- 12:06Speaker 1: And I like that about how your choice in casting,
- 12:10Speaker 1: it's more of like... Or I want to do it.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I know, right?
- 12:13Speaker 2: I want to do it. I want to do the mask.
- 12:17Speaker 1: For real.
- 12:18Speaker 2: But it'd be so much fun. And I just think.
- 12:23Speaker 2: A female perspective going through that same experience would be just,
- 12:30Speaker 2: just that whole, like.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Different treasure chest of memory and, you know, pop culture
- 12:37Speaker 1: reference thing. Cause like in, in, in the mask one,
- 12:40Speaker 1: it's like, it's all of Jim Carrey. It's all Stanley
- 12:42Speaker 1: Ipkiss is, you know, his, his, all his stuff.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And it'd be cool to see, Oh, just taking over
- 12:48Speaker 2: like the id running wild and just a woman being
- 12:51Speaker 2: fully possessed in that way.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Cause like, I mean, there's like, there's probably little things,
- 12:56Speaker 1: little references that, that women will probably get from other
- 13:00Speaker 1: women to be.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I could see Steph Tolove doing it too.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Okay.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Like just being like, it's just somebody who can really
- 13:06Speaker 2: kind of go there.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 2: With that wild side of just like letting it all go.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Because like, I was like, like, cause I know like,
- 13:15Speaker 1: cause you know, when girls were interested in other things
- 13:17Speaker 1: and little boys were like in it, because this thing,
- 13:20Speaker 1: it's like, Oh, there could have probably been, like, this
- 13:21Speaker 1: smaller reference to G.I. Joe or just, like, some really
- 13:25Speaker 1: off-the-wall character that little boys are into. It's like, oh, no, no, no.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And there's probably a ton of that that little girls
- 13:30Speaker 1: or girls would get into. Totally. Yeah, I'd be like, oh,
- 13:32Speaker 1: my God, I thought I was the only one that
- 13:34Speaker 1: noticed that about such and such or about that thing.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, that would be so much
- 13:37Speaker 1: fun to just find all those things. And then another conversation.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I was like, for real? Like, that's who we got? Like,
- 13:42Speaker 1: all the time? Yeah. There have been some, especially being
- 13:45Speaker 1: married now and being with like my wife, just telling
- 13:48Speaker 1: me all these little things that I don't know that
- 13:50Speaker 1: I'm not privy to. And I'm like, shut the fuck up.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I didn't know women have like this underlining war with
- 13:55Speaker 1: each other sometimes while they're out and about. She's like, yeah,
- 13:57Speaker 1: she's not a girl's girl over there. She's a bitch.
- 13:59Speaker 1: And I'm like, what? I could just tell. I could,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you know, you could just, I was like, really? And
- 14:03Speaker 1: I was like, that's crazy. And that, or they speak
- 14:04Speaker 1: with the eyes. I didn't know you talk with your eyes.
- 14:06Speaker 2: We talk with our eyes. We talk with a lot
- 14:08Speaker 2: of things.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah. There's a whole bunch of, I was like, Oh,
- 14:11Speaker 1: that's interesting. Yeah. And now I notice, I notice all like,
- 14:14Speaker 1: I didn't know about lashes. I didn't know anything about lashes.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Right. You learn all these things that you never knew before.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Found them in the shower. We're scared the shit out
- 14:20Speaker 1: of me. Totally.
- 14:21Speaker 2: You're like, that's a centipede.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I'm scared of spiders. I was like, babe, come get it.
- 14:29Speaker 2: But she looks good, right?
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. No, definitely looks good. It definitely worth all
- 14:33Speaker 1: of it. It was just not, I just, I didn't know.
- 14:35Speaker 1: It's just new. It's new.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 14:37Speaker 1: And like, that's kind of like how I've been writing lately,
- 14:39Speaker 1: especially being in this, you know, that's.
- 14:41Speaker 2: A wealth of stuff to write about.
- 14:44Speaker 1: It's just new and I'm learning and it's like, it's not,
- 14:46Speaker 1: I'm not complaining. That's what I want to make sure.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I want to tell people I'm not complaining. Right. I'm
- 14:50Speaker 1: just I'm just learning and it's interesting and it's so funny. Totally. Yeah.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Just to live with another person and and have your
- 14:56Speaker 2: lives intertwined is is automatically going to be rife with humor.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Yeah. It's all over the place. Like, oh, this is. Yeah.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And like, I don't mean too much to talk about
- 15:05Speaker 1: me too much. I'm sorry.
- 15:06Speaker 2: No, that's I do. Is your is your wife into comedy?
- 15:11Speaker 1: She's not. But she is funny. She's really funny. She
- 15:14Speaker 1: helps write. And like, we have a board at the
- 15:16Speaker 1: house and we write ideas. And then like, sometimes like
- 15:20Speaker 1: she'll have a joke and I've tried it out and
- 15:22Speaker 1: she gets really excited about it. And she's like, how
- 15:24Speaker 1: did it work? And that's cool. And I'm like, yeah, no,
- 15:27Speaker 1: she's like, and then she wrote, she does something else too. Like,
- 15:30Speaker 1: or we'll talk. And then she's like, that's funny. So, okay,
- 15:32Speaker 1: here's this. Sorry, I cut you off.
- 15:34Speaker 2: This is the, no, no, I'm.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Just going to say this, this, this funny thing about,
- 15:39Speaker 1: so the joke that we're, I'm kind of working on
- 15:41Speaker 1: that kind of, we kind of developed this because, she's
- 15:45Speaker 1: not in sketch, but she's in sketch. Cool. She just
- 15:49Speaker 1: will envelop a character and go with it and not stop.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And I'm the same way. Yeah. And so we kind
- 15:53Speaker 1: of like have fun with that. And I go, we
- 15:55Speaker 1: can never role play for sex. Yeah. Because no one
- 15:57Speaker 1: wants a bright character. I know. I was this close
- 16:02Speaker 1: to being pimped out.
- 16:02Speaker 2: I thought about that. I was like, I don't think
- 16:04Speaker 2: that'll work for me because I'm going to go too
- 16:06Speaker 2: hard on the bit. Yeah. Like, There's been plenty of
- 16:08Speaker 2: sketches on SNL in different places where the characters get
- 16:13Speaker 2: into a role play situation and it gets too weird
- 16:16Speaker 2: and too real too fast.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Which makes it not sexy anymore. And I think that's
- 16:20Speaker 2: what it would be. It's just like committing to the
- 16:22Speaker 2: bit I don't have a problem with. I can commit
- 16:24Speaker 2: to a bit.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah. And that's what I love about her. Yes. I
- 16:29Speaker 1: don't care how I look. I just, I need to
- 16:31Speaker 1: finish this. Same.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I relate hard. I'm just like, I'll, I'll, I will
- 16:35Speaker 2: go down.
- 16:35Speaker 1: With the bit. Yeah. I love that. It's so much fun.
- 16:38Speaker 1: It's so, it's so much fun though. It's so silly.
- 16:41Speaker 1: And then after we get done, you know, like, like, Oh,
- 16:43Speaker 1: that was, that was so funny when you did this,
- 16:44Speaker 1: that I was dying and dah, dah, dah, dah. Just
- 16:47Speaker 1: being silly and stuff like that. I really liked that.
- 16:48Speaker 1: It's a fun, fun thing. But, no, also, too, what
- 16:51Speaker 1: I was going to say about your stand-up and about
- 16:52Speaker 1: how when you first started, because, like you said, you're in,
- 16:54Speaker 1: what year are you in, actually?
- 16:56Speaker 2: I am going on my fifth year, but I've been doing, like,
- 17:00Speaker 2: comedy-adjacent things for probably, like, close to ten now?
- 17:05Speaker 1: Maybe, yeah. And right now you're in development of the set. Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Were you very, like, are you very, like, worried about
- 17:13Speaker 1: time right now?
- 17:15Speaker 2: I should be worried more about time.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Oh, no, no, no, that's, no, I'm just.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Oh, do you mean like getting more time?
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I think I'm... You're like a bitch getting
- 17:25Speaker 1: old real quick.
- 17:27Speaker 2: No, I'm like... I was like, do you mean like
- 17:32Speaker 2: on stage? Should I be reeling it in? I'm like, yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I should reel it in a little bit. Or pay
- 17:37Speaker 2: attention to the clock more. No, I'm pretty good at
- 17:39Speaker 2: that too. I just, I'm not like militant about it.
- 17:42Speaker 2: So I'm going to end it when the, you know,
- 17:45Speaker 2: within the time when the joke's over, that kind of thing.
- 17:47Speaker 2: That's not really a thing. But, I think I'm in
- 17:52Speaker 2: a place where when somebody asks you, how much time
- 17:55Speaker 2: do you have? I don't feel comfortable. I hate that
- 17:59Speaker 2: question right now where I'm at because I can technically
- 18:02Speaker 2: do quite a bit of time, but do I like it?
- 18:07Speaker 2: do I think it all is cohesive? Do I want
- 18:10Speaker 2: to use it for every instance? No. So like I'm
- 18:13Speaker 2: hovering at probably like 40 to 45, but I, um,
- 18:17Speaker 2: am constantly, I'm so hard on myself and I'm always, uh,
- 18:23Speaker 2: kind of want more.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:25Speaker 2: So I, I never really feel satisfied or I hate
- 18:27Speaker 2: answering that question. And that's, I just need to be
- 18:29Speaker 2: better at answering the question.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Yeah. No, no. I was just wondering, I know like
- 18:35Speaker 1: at sometimes at some points in comedy, you're like, You know,
- 18:39Speaker 1: I can do 45, but I'm comfortable at 25. Oh, yeah, yeah. Because, like,
- 18:47Speaker 1: I wish that I would have spent more time being
- 18:49Speaker 1: comfortable in certain slots as opposed to, like, I can
- 18:52Speaker 1: do it, but it's, like, I know it's stretching, and
- 18:55Speaker 1: I know that I'm, like, it's more of a fact, like,
- 18:58Speaker 1: when I go on stage, I'm, like, oh, I hope
- 19:01Speaker 1: I do well.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:02Speaker 1: And I'd rather go on stage, like, oh, I can't
- 19:05Speaker 1: wait to get on. Totally.
- 19:06Speaker 2: That's what I want, too. I want to be in
- 19:09Speaker 2: a place where I'm like, from start to finish, I'm solid.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I'm having fun.
- 19:14Speaker 2: And I have some flexibility. I have material that I
- 19:16Speaker 2: can take in and out. It doesn't have to be there.
- 19:18Speaker 2: That's ideally where I want to live. And I'm constantly
- 19:22Speaker 2: working on getting there. I mean, that's the point, right?
- 19:25Speaker 1: That's the best thing, too, because you get off stage
- 19:27Speaker 1: and be like, oh, I didn't do four things that
- 19:29Speaker 1: I wanted. Three or four things? Right. That's awesome. And
- 19:31Speaker 1: I had a good time. Totally.
- 19:33Speaker 2: And I think... Right now, I have a day job,
- 19:36Speaker 2: like a lot of us do. And I'm like, man,
- 19:39Speaker 2: I would love just more time to build stuff and
- 19:42Speaker 2: to kind of keep expanding, keep expanding.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah. But that's also fun. Keep finding more pieces of
- 19:47Speaker 1: the puzzle. Right. And playing around with it.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Totally.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Totally.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Then just like if I ever do a special or,
- 19:53Speaker 2: you know, when I do a special, that's a better
- 19:54Speaker 2: way to put it. I want to have it be
- 19:57Speaker 2: cohesive and a theme and kind of make sense. And
- 20:00Speaker 2: so I'm just now starting to look at that and say,
- 20:03Speaker 2: what do I want that to look like in the future?
- 20:05Speaker 2: What do I want a full headliner set to look like?
- 20:10Speaker 2: What do I want that to look like if I
- 20:13Speaker 2: do a special? How do I want it to interweave?
- 20:16Speaker 2: Do I want to tell a story? Do I want to...
- 20:19Speaker 2: start leaning into those longer bits a little more, which
- 20:23Speaker 2: is kind of the next thing for me is like.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Storyteller? Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 2: How do I make these stories a little bit punchier
- 20:31Speaker 2: and do it in a way that feels like myself?
- 20:35Speaker 1: And you know, it's fun. Like we were talking about
- 20:37Speaker 1: that too, about like the, with the sketch and like
- 20:39Speaker 1: how we were talking earlier about how you get to
- 20:41Speaker 1: intermingle the sketch, you know, tools and, totally into there.
- 20:45Speaker 1: So when they do tell the story, like to become
- 20:47Speaker 1: the character or to become the cousin or like I
- 20:49Speaker 1: was saying, like making inanimate objects, have personalities and just
- 20:53Speaker 1: letting them breathe and for sure. And then walk in
- 20:56Speaker 1: the fun thing about that too. It's like, I mean,
- 20:59Speaker 1: it's the whole idea is so much fun. It doesn't
- 21:02Speaker 1: necessarily have to be like, if any, if I can
- 21:05Speaker 1: give you any advice, I don't, I haven't seen you
- 21:07Speaker 1: do anything like that, but if I can give you
- 21:08Speaker 1: any advice on, on standup or like, just like that,
- 21:11Speaker 1: it's like, don't, don't, Or any comic. It's great to write,
- 21:17Speaker 1: but don't write everything out and not give yourself any
- 21:20Speaker 1: room to let it live or breathe.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Totally.
- 21:23Speaker 1: And it's like, yeah, here's the idea, and let's see
- 21:25Speaker 1: what happens.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah, because you're supposed to be funding them to figure
- 21:28Speaker 1: it out. Yeah. A lot of comics sometimes will write,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and it'll be like a model, and then they just
- 21:33Speaker 1: get stuck into this paragraph.
- 21:35Speaker 2: And that's where I'm trying to really steer... away from
- 21:38Speaker 2: and be more comfortable telling stories on stage and kind
- 21:43Speaker 2: of taking it back and looking, okay, I can work
- 21:45Speaker 2: with this now. And I'm starting to do that. And
- 21:48Speaker 2: it's really exciting because I think there's this worry that,
- 21:52Speaker 2: you know, you just want to be good. Everybody wants
- 21:54Speaker 2: to be good all the time. And so like, yeah,
- 21:55Speaker 2: I want to get my jokes per minute. I want
- 21:57Speaker 2: to tag this as much as possible. Like that's where
- 21:59Speaker 2: you're starting. And now I'm thinking, you know, can I
- 22:03Speaker 2: just like let myself play during a set? And like, yeah,
- 22:08Speaker 2: bomb a little bit and let myself have a little
- 22:11Speaker 2: bit of fun and figure out something that's going to
- 22:14Speaker 2: be long-term way better than what I'm currently doing.
- 22:18Speaker 1: It's so funny that you say that. Yeah. Bomb a
- 22:20Speaker 1: little bit.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I got to let myself bomb a little bit more.
- 22:23Speaker 1: But that's why people should become, should, should, should be
- 22:26Speaker 1: hosts for the long time. Yeah. Because being a host
- 22:30Speaker 1: will let you like bomb a little bit, but know
- 22:32Speaker 1: that and have the comments like, This didn't go well.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You're bombing all the time when you're hosting.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, you know how to get yourself out of
- 22:38Speaker 1: a hole after a while. And then on top of that, too,
- 22:40Speaker 1: if you're such a good host and so good that
- 22:42Speaker 1: you know how to get the show out of a
- 22:44Speaker 1: hole that you didn't even do. Yeah. Like, that last
- 22:47Speaker 1: guy sucked. And you know what? I got to erase that.
- 22:49Speaker 1: So let me get back in here and get him
- 22:50Speaker 1: out that hole. So you know that you have the
- 22:52Speaker 1: confidence that that joke didn't land. But it's OK. Because
- 22:55Speaker 1: I can get it back.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Or this person just made a mess. And now I
- 22:58Speaker 2: got to let them know that it's going to be
- 22:59Speaker 2: OK from here. And we've got this handled. Like, we're
- 23:02Speaker 2: in it together. I'm not leaving you.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 23:05Speaker 2: And I do feel like that's something I do well, like,
- 23:08Speaker 2: that I have some confidence in is hosting and just saying, like.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I can't wait to see your set. I want to
- 23:13Speaker 1: check it out. Like, I'm really excited now. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 2: But I do like hosting, and I feel like I
- 23:17Speaker 2: kind of get siloed in that sometimes because... And I
- 23:20Speaker 2: take it.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I'm really grateful that people feel like they can trust
- 23:24Speaker 2: me to do it and say, okay, I got... Like,
- 23:26Speaker 2: she's got it. She's not going to let this go
- 23:28Speaker 2: off the rails. She's not going to say anything disparaging
- 23:31Speaker 2: about anything.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:33Speaker 2: That matters.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Or just like I know that shows in good hands.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Or just have a calm demeanor. Like, you know, make
- 23:38Speaker 2: sure people feel comfortable and know that it's not about me.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Because that's the other part of being a host is
- 23:43Speaker 2: knowing it's not about you. Like you are here to
- 23:46Speaker 2: be a concierge. You're here to like make everybody feel
- 23:49Speaker 2: like it's going to be a great time. And sometimes
- 23:51Speaker 2: that means biting the bullet. Sometimes that means bombing because
- 23:54Speaker 2: you're just taking the hits and you're finding out what's
- 23:56Speaker 2: going to work with this audience. Like you might be
- 23:57Speaker 2: up there. And your whole set is just about finding
- 24:01Speaker 2: where's the baseline for the next people coming up. And
- 24:05Speaker 2: getting through it with grace and being like, yeah, we
- 24:07Speaker 2: got through it.
- 24:07Speaker 1: It's great. Let's keep going. Everything that you learn as
- 24:09Speaker 1: a host, it makes you a better headliner because it's
- 24:11Speaker 1: all a wax on, wax off. It's all karate kid shit.
- 24:14Speaker 2: It's crazy because I will see that in people like
- 24:17Speaker 2: Paul Verzi, who I've had the pleasure of working with recently.
- 24:21Speaker 2: He's so phenomenal at making the audience feel taken care
- 24:24Speaker 2: of and just saying like, hey, And that's stuff that
- 24:28Speaker 2: a host does, too. But he weaves it in and
- 24:30Speaker 2: out of his whole headlining set, which is cool. And
- 24:33Speaker 2: I want to get there where it's like, okay, I'm
- 24:36Speaker 2: checking in with people, but also it's like we're not
- 24:39Speaker 2: stopping once we start.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Because when you're a host, too, it's like people are
- 24:43Speaker 1: coming in and they're ordering. Yep. So they're talking. Yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 1: They're not paying attention to you. Totally. And as a headliner.
- 24:48Speaker 2: They're getting set, they're getting seated.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Yeah, as a headliner, they're... you're dealing with the check
- 24:52Speaker 1: drop where they're talking to each other.
- 24:53Speaker 2: True.
- 24:54Speaker 1: So it's the same thing. I didn't even think about
- 24:56Speaker 1: it like that, but that's, yeah, there's all this stuff.
- 24:58Speaker 1: That's the same thing that makes you a better headliner
- 25:00Speaker 1: because you know how to deal with this part. It
- 25:02Speaker 1: comes back this part, but not at the same thing.
- 25:04Speaker 1: And then same thing. Like, um, uh, even like, uh,
- 25:08Speaker 1: what is another, another instance to, like you said to
- 25:11Speaker 1: people sitting down or a cold audience that you have to,
- 25:14Speaker 1: You have to get a cold audience to understand the
- 25:17Speaker 1: rhythms on where to be at.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Or like, this is the energy level. And when you're
- 25:21Speaker 2: bringing out the next person you want, you're like, okay, guys,
- 25:23Speaker 2: let's pick it up.
- 25:24Speaker 1: And as a headliner, sometimes the room is chaotic, right?
- 25:27Speaker 1: And you have to, again, train it. Hey, got to
- 25:30Speaker 1: calm down. Totally.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Check in with them.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Be like, hey, guys. Yeah, because it's like, yo, they're
- 25:34Speaker 1: drunk now. Yeah. They've been there.
- 25:35Speaker 2: We're really excited for this person to come out. I
- 25:37Speaker 2: know you're excited. You've had a lot of drinks. We're
- 25:39Speaker 2: having a good time.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 2: And so let's really give this person our energy and.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Joy.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Be cool about it.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Be cool. Don't be weird. we're talking
- 25:52Speaker 1: about too earlier, like, you know, as a host, you're
- 25:54Speaker 1: going to get into, you know, holes because of those things,
- 25:58Speaker 1: but you'd be confident and you get yourself out of
- 26:00Speaker 1: them and boom. And it comes back again at the
- 26:02Speaker 1: end as a host, because for a host, I mean,
- 26:05Speaker 1: as a headliner, you're doing the used, it used to
- 26:08Speaker 1: be 60 minutes, but now it's 45, a lot of
- 26:09Speaker 1: common clothes. Now it's 45. So it's even more, it's cake. Um, but, uh,
- 26:14Speaker 1: so you're up and you have to change gears of
- 26:18Speaker 1: the show. So definitely you'll even put yourself in a hole.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Are you, You'll dial it back. So you reset the room.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And you know how to reset the room and you
- 26:26Speaker 1: have the confidence in it because you know you can
- 26:28Speaker 1: get yourself out of anything. So it's like, okay, I've
- 26:30Speaker 1: learned that as being a host. I know how to
- 26:32Speaker 1: do it now as a headliner. It makes it way
- 26:33Speaker 1: more smoother. So I always tell people to be a
- 26:35Speaker 1: host as long as possible and enjoy it. And it's
- 26:39Speaker 1: one of the most important parts of the show.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Totally.
- 26:42Speaker 1: And people think it's like, oh, it's just, you know,
- 26:43Speaker 1: but they don't even think you're a comic. It's like,
- 26:45Speaker 1: you know, you're a fucking relax. Yeah.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:47Speaker 1: You're going to be.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Which is true. Like, like you will do a show
- 26:50Speaker 2: and I've done like host sets and sometimes they're longer
- 26:53Speaker 2: host sets. And, and so it's like, I can't wait
- 26:55Speaker 2: to see you do stand up afterwards. And I'm like, well,
- 26:58Speaker 2: that was.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Yeah. What do you think I was doing? Just hanging
- 27:01Speaker 1: out with you guys? Yes, they do. That's, yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 2: But that's okay.
- 27:04Speaker 1: That's the point.
- 27:04Speaker 2: That's the point.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 2: So you, it's funny. You have to have that confidence
- 27:07Speaker 2: inside yourself. You're like, that's not what this is. Right.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I did my job then.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I made the kill. I love stand-up science. Yeah, me too. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 1: I know. We're all excited. I know. I like talking
- 27:18Speaker 1: about it. Okay. Let's do questions. Okay.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Boom, boom, boom.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Okay. Boom. So I have, okay, we're going to do
- 27:24Speaker 1: week 10.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Week 10.
- 27:25Speaker 1: By the way, you did great on week 11.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Yeah, she was killing it. All right.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Let's see. You guys should have seen it. I crashed.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I think I won.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Okay. That's week nine. Okay. Let's go week 10. Okay.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Here we go. Oh, no, that was week 10. You
- 27:40Speaker 1: did week 10. Okay, so we're going to do week 9. Cool.
- 27:42Speaker 1: All right, so here we go. What does SWV stand
- 27:48Speaker 1: for in the 90s R & B girl group?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Oh.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Do you remember SWV?
- 27:56Speaker 2: No.
- 27:57Speaker 1: They sing, I get so weak in the knees.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yes, so familiar with the song. I should know.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I am.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I don't want to even try because it will just
- 28:09Speaker 2: be worse if I try.
- 28:11Speaker 1: It's Sisters with Voices.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Okay. I was going to say, soul women vocalizing. It's
- 28:19Speaker 2: not wrong.
- 28:20Speaker 1: We have a new improv group name. I'll tell you that. Oh, damn.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I just lost it. I was laughing so hard. Okay,
- 28:28Speaker 1: here we go. Number two. Whitney Houston went to what top... Wait,
- 28:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Whitney Houston... Topped the music charts
- 28:36Speaker 1: in 1992 with which Dolly Parton song?
- 28:39Speaker 2: I Will Always Love You.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Boom. Nice.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Which she wrote in the same day she wrote Jolie.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I mean, that's what the internet says, and everybody got
- 28:50Speaker 2: really hype on it. But I wonder if you actually
- 28:52Speaker 2: dig into it that's wrong. But allegedly, she wrote them.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Dolly Parton's hilarious. She's so funny. She's so funny.
- 28:58Speaker 2: What an entertainer.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:59Speaker 2: All around entertainer.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Have you ever seen the clips of her?
- 29:02Speaker 2: Just being silly?
- 29:03Speaker 1: Yeah. So funny.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Totally.
- 29:05Speaker 1: So quick.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Nine to five?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Great movie.
- 29:10Speaker 1: She's hilarious. There was this news anchor asking her, so
- 29:16Speaker 1: what do you do in the morning or something like that?
- 29:21Speaker 1: And she was like, well, I just usually put on
- 29:23Speaker 1: my clothes and start getting home. Yeah, getting home.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Oh, gosh, I love it.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Oh, it was so funny. She's really funny.
- 29:31Speaker 2: And the blonde thing where she's like, how do you
- 29:34Speaker 2: feel about people saying that blonde women are dumb? And
- 29:37Speaker 2: she's like, well, I'm not dumb and I'm not blonde, so.
- 29:40Speaker 1: You know. And it's like, alright. Yeah, I like that. Okay,
- 29:45Speaker 1: number three. Before embarking on a solo career, Beyonce was
- 29:48Speaker 1: part of what R & B group?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Destiny's Child.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Boom, nice. You could tell the other one was very film-centric. Yes!
- 29:56Speaker 2: I was like, I got the films and now I'm like, ah!
- 29:59Speaker 1: Um, so that's, that's what, that's, uh, that's, that's, that's
- 30:02Speaker 1: two out of three so far. Okay. Here we go. Oh,
- 30:05Speaker 1: how about this one? Oh yeah. What is California state animal?

- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Fuck man. The other one was better. It was
- 30:16Speaker 1: way better.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Isn't it grizzly? That was, that was pretty cool.
- 30:20Speaker 1: You're a, yeah. Grizzly. It is grizzly bear. Actually. Like
- 30:22Speaker 1: you got it. Correct. Completely correct. Yeah. Um, how often, uh,

- 31:18Speaker 2: It was awesome. I don't know what I expected, but
- 31:21Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Yeah, because I know you said you've been to film,
- 31:24Speaker 1: so it's like, this is where it all happens.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and I did a show at the Comedy Store
- 31:29Speaker 2: for the first time, so I was nerding out and
- 31:33Speaker 2: really excited about it.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Seeing the bullet hole in the sign, all that cool shit. Yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 1: All right, so this actor notably starred in a TV

- 32:30Speaker 2: haunt me for my days.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Oh, here's number eight. Actor Jim Carrey first made a
- 32:35Speaker 1: name for himself in what Key and Ivy Wayne's TV sitcom?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Or sketch comedy show.

- 33:23Speaker 1: Oh, fuck. Hey, new troop name.
- 33:26Speaker 2: We're coming up on the link.
