- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on 710WOR.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hey, it's the final hour. It's Tuesday. The election is
- 0:13Speaker 2: seven days from now, exactly one week from today. But
- 0:16Speaker 2: don't wait. Start doing the early voting. As you heard
- 0:20Speaker 2: on the news, in New York State, 1.2 million have
- 0:23Speaker 2: already early voted. Now, the early voters tend to be
- 0:26Speaker 2: the Democrats. I don't know why, but Republicans like to
- 0:29Speaker 2: wait until Election Day. Maybe they're just more traditional. But
- 0:33Speaker 2: Democrats are great with the early voting. Republicans, you've got
- 0:36Speaker 2: to catch up. Get out there and vote early. Early voting,
- 0:41Speaker 2: much easier, much better. No lines. You get it done.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So do it. You can do it today in New York, tomorrow.
- 0:48Speaker 2: You can do it all week long or on the weekend.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Do the early voting. Around the country, it's up to
- 0:53Speaker 2: about 26 million people have already early voted. So get
- 0:59Speaker 2: out there and do it. A lot going on. There's
- 1:03Speaker 2: a Fed meeting that starts today. It'll go for two days.
- 1:06Speaker 2: We'll see if there's a raid hike. They've got everybody
- 1:12Speaker 2: out in the campaign trail. Vice President Vance will head
- 1:15Speaker 2: to Michigan today. Rogers was a couple of points behind
- 1:20Speaker 2: the crazy anti-Semitic El-Sayed. He's caught up. But they're pushing hard. Vance...
- 1:27Speaker 2: In Michigan again today, President Trump's headed to Texas this afternoon.
- 1:31Speaker 2: He'll be in Corpus Christi, Texas, big rally. Then he'll
- 1:35Speaker 2: do another rally in Lubbock, Texas. He's like an energizer,
- 1:40Speaker 2: bunny crazy, running around the country doing all this stuff.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Let's see, they're surveying people at the polling places. 44%
- 1:50Speaker 2: are voting Democrat. Again, that's the early vote. Oh, wait
- 1:53Speaker 2: a minute. Sorry, sorry, sorry. Excuse me. I just saw
- 1:56Speaker 2: it's a Marist poll. It's an NPR poll. It's a
- 2:00Speaker 2: PBS poll. It means the metrics are slanted. It's totally rigged. So, sorry.
- 2:06Speaker 2: If they say 44% are voting Democrat, that means it's 34%
- 2:11Speaker 2: voting Democrat. And all these rigged polls, these college polls,
- 2:15Speaker 2: these media polls, so rigged, so phony, all to suppress turnout.
- 2:20Speaker 2: That's the whole point of them. Do you remember that
- 2:24Speaker 2: horrible road rage incident? That ex-cop runs, tries to run
- 2:31Speaker 2: this guy off the road, takes out his gun, shoots him,
- 2:33Speaker 2: kills him. Very nice man, family man. And when it
- 2:37Speaker 2: was time to go to court, I guess because he's
- 2:40Speaker 2: an ex-cop, the court officer snuck him in, snuck him out. Well,
- 2:44Speaker 2: they finally got a photo of him. New York Post
- 2:46Speaker 2: just for the first time ever showed this guy's face.
- 2:49Speaker 2: They caught him coming into a courthouse. And they got
- 2:53Speaker 2: him outside. They were in the right spot as he
- 2:55Speaker 2: got out of the car. It's the first photograph that's
- 2:58Speaker 2: been made public of him. And his name is Victor Romero.
- 3:04Speaker 2: He's 62, ex-cop. Was working for a big company, driving
- 3:09Speaker 2: the CEO around. CEOs love to have ex-cops as drivers
- 3:14Speaker 2: because they got a gun. It's protection. They got a
- 3:16Speaker 2: badge in case you need to, you know, get through
- 3:19Speaker 2: a street that's closed or something like that.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It works.
- 3:23Speaker 2: So he's been released on a million dollars bail. Yeah,
- 3:28Speaker 2: it's the only photo. He did make a court appearance.
- 3:31Speaker 2: They do have a photo. You want to see what
- 3:33Speaker 2: he looks like. New York Post just put it up.
- 3:37Speaker 2: The Apple Duo, that's the foldable phone. More people complaining.
- 3:42Speaker 2: You know what? Stop whining. Use your regular phone. Use
- 3:47Speaker 2: this iPhone 18. It's perfect. You don't need to unfold
- 3:50Speaker 2: it in them. If you want a screen that size,
- 3:54Speaker 2: get the iPad Mini. It's perfect. Works better than the Duo. Hey,
- 3:58Speaker 2: by the way, if you're going to get the iPhone Mini,
- 4:00Speaker 2: hang on. Apparently there's a new one coming out. They're
- 4:03Speaker 2: going to unveil a whole new one, much improved one,
- 4:06Speaker 2: in a week or two. So hold off on that.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Don't get it just yet. You know, they hate Elon Musk.
- 4:13Speaker 2: They hate Elon Musk so much. He's done two things
- 4:18Speaker 2: that Democrats... I think are despicable. One, he's donated to Republicans.
- 4:25Speaker 2: The other thing, of course, is Doge. He tried to
- 4:27Speaker 2: cut down government waste and fraud. And Democrats, well, Republicans too, Congress, government,
- 4:34Speaker 2: they love waste and fraud. It's the business model. You
- 4:38Speaker 2: give out huge contracts. You give them to unions, special
- 4:43Speaker 2: interest groups, donors. You tell them charges six times as much,
- 4:48Speaker 2: take 10 times longer than usual. put more people on
- 4:50Speaker 2: the job than you need. They do that in exchange
- 4:53Speaker 2: for donations, in exchange for whatever they need. But Musk
- 4:59Speaker 2: tried to bust up that government waste and fraud system.
- 5:02Speaker 2: You know, they got in these cabinet departments, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 2: the state department, they got 27,000 people working there and
- 5:08Speaker 2: nobody knows what the hell they do. So they hate Musk.
- 5:13Speaker 2: They've been denouncing him, attacking him. And The other side
- 5:18Speaker 2: of Musk is a genius. He's Ben Franklin. He's Thomas Edison.
- 5:21Speaker 2: This guy's inventing stuff that's unbelievable. He perfected the electric car,
- 5:27Speaker 2: the Tesla. He's launching rockets into space. Remember when our
- 5:31Speaker 2: astronauts were stranded in the space station? We didn't know
- 5:34Speaker 2: how to get them down. Musk had to go up
- 5:36Speaker 2: there with his spaceships and get them down. He's perfected Starlink.
- 5:40Speaker 2: That's going to be the future of communication. By the way,
- 5:43Speaker 2: come back in 10 years, there'll be no cell towers anywhere.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It'll be all Starlink, which means perfect signal everywhere. No
- 5:51Speaker 2: dead zones. It'll all be coming from their satellites, the
- 5:54Speaker 2: cell service. The data centers, the AI, the data centers,
- 5:59Speaker 2: it's all going to be in space. Thanks to Musk.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Musk is inventing flying cars. Musk is inventing and perfecting everything.
- 6:07Speaker 2: It's like you're watching Thomas Edison. He's going to go
- 6:10Speaker 2: down in history as an incredible figure. But right now,
- 6:13Speaker 2: Democrats are trying to destroy the guy. So they attack
- 6:17Speaker 2: him left and right. They want to prosecute him. Well, now, look,
- 6:20Speaker 2: they're coming right out and saying it. This is Robert Reich.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Remember the Clinton guy, the little Clinton guy, Cabinet Secretary
- 6:27Speaker 2: Robert Reich, who used to be quite the respectable, you know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: legitimate sort of a figure. But now he's gone crazy
- 6:36Speaker 2: with the rest of the Democrats. You know, they were
- 6:39Speaker 2: talking about defund Musk. He is now saying this is
- 6:42Speaker 2: Robert Reich, major Democratic figure. He's saying the government should
- 6:46Speaker 2: seize Elon Musk's companies. He's not the only one. You're
- 6:50Speaker 2: going to hear more about this. Bernie Sanders, these types.
- 6:53Speaker 2: This is going to be the new thing. They want
- 6:55Speaker 2: the government to seize Starlink, to seize SpaceX, to actually
- 7:02Speaker 2: take control of Musk's companies. Reich says it should be
- 7:07Speaker 2: a public corporation. We should never have that kind of
- 7:10Speaker 2: power in one person's hands. Musk is trying to buy
- 7:13Speaker 2: the Senate from Texas. Why should we allow this? Well,
- 7:17Speaker 2: you're fine when Soros does it. You're fine when the
- 7:20Speaker 2: Democratic billionaire donors do it. They're buying elections all the time.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Reich says this is like what happened in the first
- 7:28Speaker 2: Gilded Age when we had robber barons. Well, robber barons,
- 7:33Speaker 2: that's what they ended up calling the Vanderbilts, the Rockefellers.
- 7:37Speaker 2: But these are the guys that built the country, basically,
- 7:40Speaker 2: the railroads, everything. I say this is exhibit A in
- 7:45Speaker 2: terms of a billionaire takeover of America. The oligarch problem.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Musk represents the power of oligarchy. But again, Soros has
- 7:58Speaker 2: given more money to politics than Musk ever has. Soros
- 8:01Speaker 2: has tampered with more things. Soros is the guy that
- 8:04Speaker 2: funded these crazy DAs that let all the criminals loose.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Soros is the guy that funded and got all these
- 8:11Speaker 2: crazy secretaries of state elected. that got rid of voter
- 8:14Speaker 2: ID and all that stuff. He's done more to damage
- 8:17Speaker 2: American democracy than anybody in history. But Reich goes on
- 8:22Speaker 2: to say, if we have a democratic administration and Democrats
- 8:26Speaker 2: ought to be starting this, not just with oversight hearings,
- 8:29Speaker 2: but laying the groundwork for nationalizing Starlink and SpaceX, nationalize it.
- 8:37Speaker 2: That means the government sees it. Musk on Twitter replied,
- 8:44Speaker 2: Stealing companies is a very serious crime. Should be prison
- 8:47Speaker 2: for Robert Reich. Prison. It's also, you know, they yell Hitler, Nazi.
- 8:51Speaker 2: This is what Hitler and Nazis do. They seize your company.
- 8:55Speaker 2: They seize your property. Hey, this Bob Woodward is an
- 8:59Speaker 2: interesting character. You know, there was Woodward and Bernstein. And,
- 9:04Speaker 2: of course, Watergate and all of that. And then over
- 9:06Speaker 2: the years, they split up. Carl Bernstein is kind of a,
- 9:08Speaker 2: I don't know, sort of a sleazy sort of a
- 9:11Speaker 2: character to some people. Uh, Woodward is be, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 2: continued as a respectable Washington journalist, writing his books and everything. But, uh,
- 9:23Speaker 2: there's a side of Bob Woodward. A lot of people
- 9:25Speaker 2: don't trust him at all. You know, uh, remember how
- 9:28Speaker 2: he got into the CIA director, William Casey's hospital bed
- 9:31Speaker 2: as he was dying and got secret confessions out of it. Well,
- 9:35Speaker 2: nobody believed that story. Casey was the CIA director, heavily guarded.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Nobody got into his hospital room. Like, so, People think,
- 9:43Speaker 2: a lot of people think a lot of Woodward stuff
- 9:45Speaker 2: is made up. So he's written a new book. But
- 9:50Speaker 2: through the years, a guy like Woodward would have amazing
- 9:53Speaker 2: sources in Washington, D.C., people in government sources that tip
- 9:57Speaker 2: him off, leak stuff to him. All top journalists have that.
- 10:02Speaker 2: So Woodward is writing. It's a new book. It's 600 pages.
- 10:08Speaker 2: It's called Secrets, A Reporter's Memoir. That's a hell of
- 10:11Speaker 2: an ego, 600 pages. Who the hell wants to read
- 10:14Speaker 2: 600 pages? But he does something I've never seen before.
- 10:18Speaker 2: He reveals his sources. Woodward is 83 now, and many
- 10:23Speaker 2: of the sources are now dead. They've all died. So
- 10:27Speaker 2: he's revealing who they are. You know, it's the one
- 10:29Speaker 2: thing when you have a secret source, especially somebody in government,
- 10:33Speaker 2: you don't, you always protect their identity. Journalists go to
- 10:36Speaker 2: prison over that to protect the identity of the source.
- 10:39Speaker 2: He's revealing them. Now, there was that famous thing he
- 10:45Speaker 2: wrote about the final days of Nixon and the White House,
- 10:48Speaker 2: how Nixon was drunk, wandering around. At one point, he
- 10:52Speaker 2: made Henry Kissinger get on his knees with him, and
- 10:54Speaker 2: they both prayed. It was a very strange scene that
- 10:58Speaker 2: Woodward reported. He's now revealing it was two of Kissinger's
- 11:02Speaker 2: deputies who leaked it to him, Brent Scowcroft and Lawrence Eagleburg.
- 11:08Speaker 2: These are top government officials. Now, they're all dead. The
- 11:11Speaker 2: problem is you got to trust Woodward. These guys are
- 11:15Speaker 2: all dead. They can't deny it. They're not around to
- 11:17Speaker 2: say it's not true. But in the book, Woodward says Scowcroft,
- 11:22Speaker 2: very respected figure, national security advisor, Gerald Ford and Bush Sr.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Woodward says the guy was a secret source for 35 years.
- 11:32Speaker 2: He was leaking stuff to me. Woodward also says, back
- 11:36Speaker 2: to the Nixon days, Watergate, all that, two of Nixon's
- 11:39Speaker 2: defense lawyers, Fred Buzzhardt, Leonard Garment, remember those names, were
- 11:44Speaker 2: secret sources revealing stuff to him. But again, These poor
- 11:48Speaker 2: guys are dead. They can't deny this stuff. So who knows?
- 11:51Speaker 2: You got to trust Woodward that this is true. He
- 11:55Speaker 2: also says Stanley Sporkin, CIA general counsel. These are big
- 11:59Speaker 2: government figures. Was an important special source leaking stuff. Sam Dash,
- 12:05Speaker 2: you remember him? He was the Senate Watergate Committee. Woodward
- 12:08Speaker 2: claims he was a leaker. Secret source giving him stuff. C.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Boyden Gray is a very distinguished guy. Washington figure, I mean,
- 12:17Speaker 2: a real swamp guy, but he was White House counsel,
- 12:21Speaker 2: George H.W.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Bush.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Woodward says during the Bush presidency and vice presidency, he
- 12:26Speaker 2: was leaking stuff to Woodward. But again, I don't know.
- 12:30Speaker 2: These guys aren't around to deny it. Woodward could be
- 12:33Speaker 2: just making that up. And even if it's true, why
- 12:38Speaker 2: would you reveal that these guys were leaking stuff? I mean,
- 12:42Speaker 2: these guys are... they got families they got kids they
- 12:46Speaker 2: got I mean why would you do that why leak
- 12:48Speaker 2: that out hey don't forget coming up Saturday night it's
- 12:51Speaker 2: Halloween Saturday night but also we go off daylight saving
- 12:55Speaker 2: time Saturday night starting Sunday it'll be dark out at
- 12:58Speaker 2: 5 o'clock and soon 4.30 we go off daylight saving
- 13:02Speaker 2: time Saturday night at 2 in the morning it becomes
- 13:07Speaker 2: 1 a.m. so you'll gain an hour of sleep Saturday
- 13:11Speaker 2: night hey Bill Maher saying what we've been saying, that if, if,
- 13:18Speaker 2: it's a big if, but let's say the Democrats win
- 13:20Speaker 2: the House, win the Senate, take over Congress. He says
- 13:24Speaker 2: that will ruin them for 2028 because they'll, according to Maher,
- 13:29Speaker 2: they'll learn all the wrong lessons. They'll start holding hearings
- 13:33Speaker 2: every second on everybody. They'll investigate Trump's grandchildren. They'll impeach Trump.
- 13:40Speaker 2: They'll shut down drilling. They'll do all kinds of crazy things.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And that will kill any chance they have in 2028.
- 13:48Speaker 2: It will guarantee a Republican president. So if, if, if
- 13:55Speaker 2: Democrats win everything, that's one bright side. Also, remember, here's
- 14:00Speaker 2: a big article here. These left-wingers are already writing, you know,
- 14:04Speaker 2: if Trump loses the midterms, if the midterms are all Democrats,
- 14:07Speaker 2: that's the end of the Trump era. That's it. Well,
- 14:10Speaker 2: first of all, every president loses the House and the
- 14:13Speaker 2: Senate in the midterms. It always happens, especially in the
- 14:15Speaker 2: second term. It's tradition. Nobody ever said, well, that's the
- 14:19Speaker 2: end of Obama. That's the end of Clinton. But things
- 14:22Speaker 2: are different. Double standard. It's Trump. Anyway, we've got a
- 14:27Speaker 2: lot to get to. We'll take some calls next. We
- 14:31Speaker 2: love having new callers. If you never called before, give
- 14:33Speaker 2: us a call. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 14:35Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
- 14:41Speaker 1: 321-0710.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Welcome back to The Mark Simone Show.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Well, hey, we'll take some calls.
- 14:57Speaker 4: 800-321-0710.
- 14:58Speaker 2: 800-321-0710. Let's go to Dave in Connecticut. Dave, how you doing?
- 15:03Speaker 1: Good, Mark. Thanks.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Hey, I just wanted to reinforce what you were saying
- 15:06Speaker 5: earlier that Both my wife and I went in. I
- 15:08Speaker 5: live in New London. Both my wife and I went
- 15:10Speaker 5: in and voted early. And there's no lines instead of
- 15:14Speaker 5: waiting until Election Day when maybe there's a little more
- 15:18Speaker 5: ceremony going on. But, I mean, you can just bang
- 15:20Speaker 5: it out.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yeah. All right.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Good point. Do the early voting. Do it this week.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Election Day, you got to wait in line. It takes forever.
- 15:31Speaker 2: You do the early voting. You walk right in. You vote.
- 15:34Speaker 2: You leave. There's no waiting. And who knows? Election day
- 15:37Speaker 2: could be bad weather. It is supposed to rain election day.
- 15:40Speaker 2: You could, something could come up. You can't do the
- 15:43Speaker 2: early voting and do it any day this week. You
- 15:45Speaker 2: can do it this weekend. Do the early voting. Let's
- 15:48Speaker 2: go to Bob in the Bronx. Bob, how you doing?
- 15:52Speaker 6: Oh, let me check.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I'm good, Mark. Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 7: Uh, yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm a first time caller, long
- 16:00Speaker 7: time listener. Um, I wanted to talk to you the
- 16:02Speaker 7: other day. You were talking about the guy about the
- 16:06Speaker 7: ingredients in potato chips.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 7: You were right and he was right. I checked out
- 16:12Speaker 7: the soup. The original lays are just potatoes, salt, and oil.
- 16:18Speaker 7: But the other ones were all different flavors. They have
- 16:21Speaker 7: all sorts of stuff. So you were right about that.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Well, it's not me. You just got to check. There
- 16:26Speaker 2: is such a thing as healthy potato chips, potatoes, salt, oil.
- 16:30Speaker 2: But most of them have tons and tons of chemicals
- 16:33Speaker 2: in them.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You're right.
- 16:34Speaker 7: All the ones with flavors and stuff like that, yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:38Speaker 7: I just want to say I've been listening to you
- 16:40Speaker 7: when you were on the other station. Always enjoyed listening
- 16:44Speaker 7: to you.
- 16:44Speaker 2: And where are you in the Bronx?
- 16:47Speaker 7: I'm in the Morris Park area.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 16:50Speaker 7: That's near— I'm in Park Lane, Morris Park, yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 2: You ever go to Arthur Avenue? I grew up there.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Oh.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Is it still great?
- 16:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Food, everything?
- 16:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Still great?
- 16:59Speaker 4: Well, yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 7: There's good restaurants.
- 17:01Speaker 6: You know, the neighborhood.
- 17:03Speaker 7: Like, I used to live down on 184th Street.
- 17:06Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 17:07Speaker 7: On St. Barnabas Hospital. And that area's changed, you know.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 7: But also Avenue 187th Street. You know, they're nice. A
- 17:16Speaker 7: lot of good businesses there. Restaurants, bakeries.
- 17:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 8: All right.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Well, thanks for calling. Let's go to Lorenzo in Connecticut. Lorenzo,
- 17:27Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 17:30Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Yes, Lorenzo.
- 17:33Speaker 6: Hey, you're a really good sport. I listened to you
- 17:37Speaker 6: when you guest hosted for Sean Hannity. Yeah. He's a
- 17:42Speaker 6: great American, and you're not bad yourself. But I have
- 17:46Speaker 6: to admit.
- 17:47Speaker 2: What's the problem?
- 17:49Speaker 6: Why did he get married, Ken?
- 17:51Speaker 2: I don't know. The poor guy. What the hell did
- 17:53Speaker 2: he do? I don't know. Some people like to be married.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Some people.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 6: Well, my first reaction when I hear that so-and-so is
- 18:00Speaker 6: getting married is on purpose.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's a good point. That's a good point.
- 18:05Speaker 2: You know, you go to a wedding, the women are crying.
- 18:07Speaker 2: They're so happy. They're crying. I feel so bad for
- 18:11Speaker 2: the guy. Like, I feel like he's going to prison
- 18:13Speaker 2: or something. Whoever's getting married, you know? And then there's
- 18:16Speaker 2: that old story about the wedding night, the honeymoon, the
- 18:20Speaker 2: wedding night. He says to her, tell me, am I
- 18:23Speaker 2: the first? And she says, why has everybody asked that?
- 18:28Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 18:30Speaker 2: More and more people staying single. It's interesting. Less and
- 18:35Speaker 2: less people getting married. Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim,
- 18:39Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 18:40Speaker 1: Hey, good morning, Mark.
- 18:41Speaker 2: How are you, sir?
- 18:42Speaker 4: Good.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Let me check.
- 18:43Speaker 8: Anyway, I'm just calling because You know, I keep hearing
- 18:48Speaker 8: about the midterms being a disaster for the Republicans, but
- 18:52Speaker 8: they don't really ever look back to the midterms of
- 18:54Speaker 8: 2022 when they said there was going to be this.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Big red wave.
- 18:59Speaker 8: And it didn't materialize because we had pretty crappy candidates
- 19:03Speaker 8: back then. And now it's going to be a blue wave.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Well, guess what?
- 19:07Speaker 8: The Democrats have a lot of crappy candidates, too.
- 19:10Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 19:12Speaker 8: I don't see this wave happening.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Maybe it's just me hoping.
- 19:16Speaker 2: This is all put out there to discourage you from voting.
- 19:19Speaker 2: The fake rigged polls are called suppression polls to make
- 19:23Speaker 2: you think it's hopeless so you stay at home. Don't
- 19:25Speaker 2: listen to any of them. Right now, it looks like
- 19:27Speaker 2: the Republicans will keep the Senate. Right now, the House
- 19:32Speaker 2: is too close to call. It's all going to be
- 19:34Speaker 2: about turnout. Don't believe these fake college polls, these fake
- 19:38Speaker 2: media polls. The metrics in them are so rigged. That
- 19:41Speaker 2: college poll last week, the sample was 80 80 80
- 19:46Speaker 2: 80 percent democrats in the sample and they didn't use
- 19:50Speaker 2: the voter rolls it was a terrible poll so don't
- 19:54Speaker 2: fall for that right now it's deadlocked as far as
- 19:56Speaker 2: nobody can predict the house it could go either way
- 19:59Speaker 2: it's all about turnout republicans if you turn out you'll
- 20:03Speaker 2: win if this big republican turnout definitely will win let's
- 20:06Speaker 2: go to tom point pleasant new jersey.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Tom Good morning, Mark.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Mark, why do you suppose it's called the World Series
- 20:16Speaker 3: when only two nations are represented?
- 20:19Speaker 2: Well, for years it was one nation. It sounds good.
- 20:22Speaker 2: It sounds good, the World Series.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Yeah, the same with the NBA. They claim to be
- 20:25Speaker 3: the world champions. I like to see it more like
- 20:27Speaker 3: the Little League World Series where they play a lot
- 20:29Speaker 3: of different countries.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I hate when they play other countries.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Oh, really? Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Who the hell... I want to see him play the
- 20:38Speaker 2: Red Sox from Boston. I don't want to see him
- 20:40Speaker 2: play Peru or Finland. Who wants to see that?
- 20:44Speaker 3: Well, I'd like to see him because most of the
- 20:45Speaker 3: players in the NBA and the baseball are from other countries.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Maybe that's why they consider it a world championship.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I know, but they all come here, you'll notice. I
- 20:54Speaker 2: don't know. You're right. It's not the World Series. But
- 20:58Speaker 2: I hate when you watch the Olympics or soccer. That's
- 21:02Speaker 2: the problem with soccer. It's... It's Norway versus Chile. Who
- 21:06Speaker 2: the hell am I supposed to root for? I mean,
- 21:11Speaker 2: I don't get it. It's different if it's like the
- 21:15Speaker 2: World Series now. It's Tampa Bay and Milwaukee. I don't know.
- 21:21Speaker 2: So you get into that National League versus American League,
- 21:23Speaker 2: whatever fan you are. But, you know, just keep it American.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Keep it American. But it looks like the World Series
- 21:31Speaker 2: could be over tonight.
- 21:32Speaker 1: It's 3-0.
- 21:34Speaker 2: It looks like the most lopsided series ever. Hey, when
- 21:36Speaker 2: we come back, Bill O'Reilly. We'll talk to him next
- 21:40Speaker 2: on 710WOR. Mark Simone.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Mr.
- 21:43Speaker 2: New York.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Now three hours every weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Well, Bill O'Reilly, the number one TV anchor for decades.
- 21:56Speaker 2: He's the number one best-selling nonfiction author on earth. You
- 21:59Speaker 2: should get his latest book, Confronting America. fascinating book. It's
- 22:05Speaker 2: probably the best one he's written so far. Confronting America
- 22:08Speaker 2: is available right now. Go to Amazon. You can get
- 22:11Speaker 2: it there. You can get his new podcast. We'll do
- 22:15Speaker 2: it live. You can get the TV show, the column.
- 22:17Speaker 2: You can get everything at Bill O'Reilly.com. Go to his website,
- 22:21Speaker 2: Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill O'Reilly, how you doing?
- 22:26Speaker 4: You know, I'm trying to digest the Cato report says
- 22:30Speaker 4: Kathy Ogle's the worst governor in the country.
- 22:34Speaker 2: It's quite an.
- 22:37Speaker 7: Honor.
- 22:37Speaker 4: I think anybody could top Pritzker in Illinois, but apparently,
- 22:41Speaker 4: according to.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Cato, Ms. Vogel does. But it doesn't mean.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Anything, of course, because the voters are casting their ballots
- 22:51Speaker 4: with emotion, not in a rational way. But it is
- 22:55Speaker 4: pretty chilling that we're the highest state in the union
- 23:00Speaker 4: as far as taxes are concerned. And now, This agency,
- 23:03Speaker 4: which is not a conservative, it's a libertarian agency, Cato, says, look,
- 23:09Speaker 4: nothing works in New York, and the governor sits there,
- 23:12Speaker 4: and things get worse and worse and worse, so she
- 23:16Speaker 4: is the worst out of the 50.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, so she's been declared worst governor in America.
- 23:22Speaker 2: This will be the least covered story in New York,
- 23:25Speaker 2: of course, by the media.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Right, I know.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Although the Blakeman people should run... you know, a spot
- 23:35Speaker 4: or two on this. However, I think people's minds are
- 23:40Speaker 4: made up at this point. You know, it's a week away,
- 23:43Speaker 4: and I don't know if there's too many undecided people
- 23:48Speaker 4: floating around in New York right now.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, Obama on the campaign trail, getting into quite
- 23:55Speaker 2: a verbal battle with Donald Trump. Is Obama effective on
- 23:59Speaker 2: the campaign trail?
- 24:02Speaker 1: African-Americans like him.
- 24:05Speaker 4: He can pull boats out in Michigan for Al-Said.
- 24:10Speaker 1: The thing about Barack Obama is his evolution.
- 24:15Speaker 4: And I've covered you guys in the very beginning when
- 24:17Speaker 4: I had that kind of brawl with his body man
- 24:19Speaker 4: up in New Hampshire. I don't know if you remember that.
- 24:23Speaker 4: But it is in my book, Confronting America. The guy
- 24:27Speaker 4: tried to block us from shooting it. Then-Senator Obama was
- 24:31Speaker 4: up for a rally. This is a big guy, and
- 24:34Speaker 4: he kept moving in front of my cameraman. And I
- 24:36Speaker 4: politely at first told him to stop it, and he wouldn't.
- 24:40Speaker 4: So I had to take vigilante action, which I did.
- 24:47Speaker 4: And it's a funny story. But Obama back then was
- 24:51Speaker 4: not who Obama is now. And that always fascinates me.
- 24:56Speaker 4: So Trump and Obama, they don't like each other, but
- 25:00Speaker 4: interestingly enough, when they're together in person, they yuck it up.
- 25:05Speaker 4: I mean, you remember the few times they.
- 25:07Speaker 7: Were at memorial services and everything?
- 25:09Speaker 4: Yeah. They're not brawling or pouting or looking away. But
- 25:15Speaker 4: when former President Obama went down to Florida to endorse
- 25:20Speaker 4: this Angie Nixon thing, uh... who is a full blown
- 25:25Speaker 4: communist that gave me pause you know i'm going to
- 25:30Speaker 4: is it just about opportunism for you because you got
- 25:34Speaker 4: four lavish homes and angie wants to seize at least
- 25:39Speaker 4: two of them what are you doing you know but
- 25:42Speaker 4: there's never a question to barack obama from the press
- 25:46Speaker 4: about his evolution from kind of a left-wing mainstream guy
- 25:53Speaker 4: And now he's endorsing communists and Islamists. Al-Said is not
- 25:58Speaker 4: a communist. He's an Islamist. And Obama is endorsing both
- 26:03Speaker 4: of those people. It kind of surprised me.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah. When he went after President Trump's decorating, let's be honest,
- 26:14Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's going to take a picture of
- 26:15Speaker 2: the Oval Office and say to their decorator, hey, do
- 26:17Speaker 2: this for me. I want this. But it's his own taste.
- 26:22Speaker 2: But when he went after the Cheesecake Factory, did that
- 26:25Speaker 2: show how out of touch he is with normal America?
- 26:27Speaker 7: It's a joke.
- 26:31Speaker 4: And I was in the Oval Office myself three weeks ago.
- 26:34Speaker 1: It looks great.
- 26:35Speaker 7: I'm sorry.
- 26:36Speaker 1: And I'm not a gaudy guy. I'm not a gold guy.
- 26:40Speaker 1: But it looked great to me.
- 26:42Speaker 4: And I was in the Oval Office when Barack Obama
- 26:47Speaker 4: was president. It looked good then. But it spruced up.
- 26:52Speaker 4: in Trump's style, but that was just a joke, a one-liner.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I mean, the luckiest people on Earth are the Cheesecake
- 26:59Speaker 4: Factory people, right? Now everybody's running in. They should have
- 27:04Speaker 4: an Obama and Trump special.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Every day, the Cheesecake people. Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 4: So I don't take any of that seriously. You'll find
- 27:13Speaker 4: this interesting, Simone, because you follow this stuff.
- 27:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 4: I told my staff this morning enough with the social
- 27:23Speaker 4: media cranks on both sides.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Enough. I don't want to hear about them.
- 27:29Speaker 4: I don't care what they say. It doesn't matter to
- 27:33Speaker 4: the country. They're just trying to do it to get
- 27:36Speaker 4: attention and money, sell ads or whatever, give speeches. I
- 27:41Speaker 4: don't want to even, I don't want you guys to
- 27:45Speaker 4: even present it to me, no matter how bizarre it is.
- 27:49Speaker 4: It doesn't matter. It's a con, okay?
- 27:54Speaker 1: I know all these.
- 27:55Speaker 4: People personally, all of them, and I know why they're
- 27:59Speaker 4: doing what they're doing, and it doesn't matter. What matters
- 28:04Speaker 4: is corruption at the government level, like Alaska. Alaska, when
- 28:10Speaker 4: you sneak a name onto a ballot, the same name
- 28:14Speaker 4: as a Republican running for.
- 28:16Speaker 1: The Senate, who did that? Who snuck the name on there?
- 28:21Speaker 4: The guy's an ex-school teacher. He hasn't done one event.
- 28:26Speaker 4: His name is Dan Sullivan, and Dan Sullivan is the
- 28:29Speaker 4: name of the principal GOP guy on the ballot. Who
- 28:33Speaker 4: did it? Well, the media doesn't want to know who
- 28:38Speaker 4: did it.
- 28:39Speaker 1: They have no interest at all.
- 28:42Speaker 4: And the Justice Department is now getting involved to find
- 28:45Speaker 4: out how this could possibly happen.
- 28:48Speaker 1: That's a good story. That's corruption.
- 28:52Speaker 4: And of course, you know, you put on CNN and it's, oh,
- 28:55Speaker 4: look at Trump's doing. Yeah, that's Trump's job to root
- 29:00Speaker 4: out corruption. Okay, you got it? Oh, that just gets
- 29:06Speaker 4: me crazy.
- 29:07Speaker 2: You used to work at CBS News. Do you ever
- 29:09Speaker 2: think you'd live to see the day where they don't
- 29:11Speaker 2: investigate major stories?
- 29:14Speaker 4: Yes. Yes, I have to answer honestly. And I have
- 29:17Speaker 4: that big story in Confirming America, what has to change,
- 29:21Speaker 4: about me and Dan Rather. I saw it up close,
- 29:26Speaker 4: eye to eye. I saw the corruption. I knew what
- 29:29Speaker 4: Rather was trying to do, and I left.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I left the job.
- 29:36Speaker 4: I went to Boston, and I just couldn't work there
- 29:42Speaker 4: and now when I worked at ABC because I came
- 29:44Speaker 4: back to New York at Rune Arledge's request I didn't
- 29:49Speaker 4: that was not in play there then there were Jennings
- 29:53Speaker 4: wouldn't do that but rather did it from the jump
- 29:56Speaker 4: and And so to answer your question, yeah, I saw it.
- 30:02Speaker 4: And then it got worse and worse and worse and
- 30:04Speaker 4: worse at CBS.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Yeah, Cronkite, he was a left-wing guy, but he tried
- 30:10Speaker 2: to keep the slant down to a minimum.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Yeah, he was a World War II guy. All those
- 30:15Speaker 4: guys who trained in World War II in Europe, Murrow and.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Cronkite, they were all there, and they had rules for
- 30:23Speaker 1: the road is what we do. They're all liberal guys,
- 30:26Speaker 1: all of them.
- 30:27Speaker 4: But that's okay.
- 30:28Speaker 1: That's all right.
- 30:29Speaker 4: As long as you're not trying to impose or twist
- 30:33Speaker 4: the news in a certain.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Way to benefit your own belief system, it's fine.
- 30:39Speaker 4: But what Rather did was he wanted to impose his
- 30:45Speaker 4: view of the world and the country on every single
- 30:49Speaker 4: individual at CBS News. And I'm not standing for it.
- 30:55Speaker 4: And I wasn't even, I was a reporter. I was
- 30:57Speaker 4: a commentator back then. I was covering the wars. But
- 31:01Speaker 4: what they did to me and others was awful, and
- 31:03Speaker 4: that's why I have that chapter in Confronting America about it.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Yeah, so rather, he really was the father of modern-day
- 31:12Speaker 2: fake news. He really opened up this can of worms
- 31:15Speaker 2: for everybody.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Well, I'm 95 years old now, and he's still pushing
- 31:20Speaker 4: the left agenda.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Still doing it. And as you may remember, he got booted.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Out of CBS because he dealt with fake documents about
- 31:31Speaker 4: Bush the Younger's National Guard service. And I wasn't surprised
- 31:36Speaker 4: they caught him because he was so blatant about it.
- 31:41Speaker 4: It was so obvious. So anyway, look, we're in a
- 31:46Speaker 4: bad place. But the good news is that there are
- 31:51Speaker 4: outlets where you can get the truth.
- 31:54Speaker 1: In the media and in social media.
- 31:57Speaker 4: But a lot of people, they just hear this stuff
- 32:00Speaker 4: and they believe it. And, oh boy, the affordability thing
- 32:04Speaker 4: is the best. The affordability thing. You think the Democratic
- 32:09Speaker 4: Party is going to make your life more affordable?
- 32:13Speaker 6: Do you really believe that?
- 32:16Speaker 1: When for the past.
- 32:17Speaker 4: 50 years, that party has done nothing but raise taxes
- 32:21Speaker 4: on when there was the big tax-cutting bill, the big
- 32:25Speaker 4: beautiful bill, not one Democrat in Congress voted for it,
- 32:30Speaker 4: and you think that these people are going to make
- 32:34Speaker 4: your wallet heavier? And when I hear and see that,
- 32:41Speaker 4: I just think the person is either brainwashed or stupid.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Okay, because we.
- 32:49Speaker 4: We all live in New York now and in Jersey
- 32:52Speaker 4: and Connecticut, the highest taxed states in the union.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Because they're controlled by Democrats.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Bill O'Reilly, we're out of time. But if you want
- 33:00Speaker 2: to read a fascinating book, get his latest book, Confronting America.
- 33:05Speaker 2: There's all sorts of great stories and moments in America.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Confronting America is the new book by Bill O'Reilly. Listen
- 33:11Speaker 2: to his podcast. We'll do it live. Watch his YouTube channel.
- 33:16Speaker 2: And go to BillOReilly.com where you can get links to everything. BillOReilly.com.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Bill O'Reilly, thanks for being with us.
- 33:24Speaker 4: All right, and congratulations to Kathy Hochul for the great
- 33:29Speaker 4: honor of being made the worst governor in the United.
- 33:33Speaker 1: States of America.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Maybe that's under a plaque.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Bill O'Reilly, thanks. Take care. Talk to you soon. Yeah,
- 33:42Speaker 2: Kathy Hochul was voted the single worst governor in America. Actually,
- 33:46Speaker 2: by a very good study. Hey, don't forget at noon,
- 33:49Speaker 2: it's Buck and Clay with an excellent show. Three o'clock,
- 33:53Speaker 2: the most listened to radio show in America. Sean Hannity
- 33:56Speaker 2: will be back. He'll be on today at three. Jesse
- 33:59Speaker 2: Kelly at six. Jimmy Fallon, funny show every night at nine.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I'm here nine to noon, three hours every day, nine
- 34:06Speaker 2: to noon. And then, of course, right before me, it's
- 34:09Speaker 2: Curtis Lewa and Larry Mendte. 6 to 9, 710WOR. More Mark.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Mark Simone. Mr.
- 34:17Speaker 4: New York.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Now three hours every weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR. Well, hey,
- 34:25Speaker 2: we're out of time. Big day in Israel. This is
- 34:28Speaker 2: election day in Israel. The results, no results yet. It's about,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I think it's about 6 o'clock there. There's a six-hour
- 34:35Speaker 2: time difference. Normally, there's a seven-hour time difference with Israel,
- 34:39Speaker 2: but They go off daylight saving time a week before
- 34:43Speaker 2: we do. So for one week, it's a six-hour time difference.
- 34:46Speaker 2: But we'll know later. By this evening, we might have
- 34:51Speaker 2: the election results. We'll certainly have them for you tomorrow.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Election Day in Israel. We'll see what happens there. Netanyahu,
- 34:58Speaker 2: it could go either way. I don't know. Going to
- 35:01Speaker 2: be a beautiful day today. Bright sunshine. Fall-like, though. 60 degrees.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I'll be back tomorrow. Don't forget, it's 9 to noon.
- 35:08Speaker 2: It's three hours every day, 9 to noon, every day.
- 35:13Speaker 2: So I'll be back tomorrow, 9 to noon, and I'll
- 35:16Speaker 2: talk to you then. Have a great day. Mark Simone here, 710WOR.
