- 0:003 lifelong friends, 6 trusty balls and endless NFL ticks.
- 0:05Welcome to three guys 6 balls NFL podcast.
- 0:08Cry eagles cry on your way to misery.
- 0:14Welcome to episode 45 of three guys 6 balls NFL podcast.
- 0:18I'm your host Joel and I'm here with my two usual Co host Will
- 0:21and Avery. It's a great day.
- 0:23I'm having a great week because the Philadelphia Eagles are no
- 0:26longer in the playoffs and the Philadelphia Eagles fans are the
- 0:30ones who are idiots, not me. The Philadelphia Eagles will not
- 0:34be in the Super Bowl this year. Sorry Eagles fans, how you guys
- 0:37doing today? Do you feel better now?
- 0:40I feel great. I feel great feels.
- 0:42Like you've been holding on to that for a while.
- 0:45They've been calling me an idiot and a moron for saying that the
- 0:48Eagles want to go back to the Super Bowl all season, the
- 0:51entire season, and they lose in the first round of the playoffs.
- 0:54It could not have gone any better.
- 0:56Just seeing the Eagles lose is fantastic.
- 1:00I could not be happier right now.
- 1:02Could not be happier. The wild card round is over and
- 1:06we're going to move on to the divisional games today to break
- 1:09those down. But before we get started with
- 1:11today's episode, what we're going to do is I'm going to go
- 1:16over our fantasy rankings, continue our fantasy rankings,
- 1:19give ourselves our scores for our pre season fantasy rankings.
- 1:23And today we're doing wide receivers and tight ends.
- 1:26If you guys didn't listen, last week we did the quarterbacks and
- 1:29running backs. And so the current score is
- 1:32myself, I'm at 16 points and Will and Avery are tied at 12.
- 1:37So today we're going to give ourselves the scores for the
- 1:39wide receivers and for the tight ends.
- 1:42And just so you guys know, they're all awful.
- 1:46They're all just bad. So All right, so we'll get
- 1:50started with the wide receivers. So the actual top ten wide
- 1:55receivers in fantasy football this year. 1 Puka Dekua, 2 JSN,
- 2:013 Almonra St. Brown, 4 Jamar Chase, 5 George
- 2:04Pickens, 6 Crystal Lava, 7 Zay Flowers, 8 Nico Collins, 9
- 2:10Devante Adams and 10 Michael Wilson.
- 2:14Because everybody would have had him in the top ten, right?
- 2:18So Will's preseason top 10 go like this.
- 2:22So one Jamar Chase, 2 CD Lamb, 3 Amanara St.
- 2:26Brown, 4 Justin Jefferson, 5 Tyree Kill, 6 Malik Neighbors, 7
- 2:32Brian Thomas Junior, eight A.J. Brown, 9 Drake London and 10
- 2:37Nico Collins. So Will had a total of four
- 2:40points because he had Jamar Chase, Amanara St.
- 2:43Brown at 3 and he was the actual third ranked receiver, so he got
- 2:47two points there. And then he had Nico Collins in
- 2:50the top 10, so he got 4 points. So Avery's top ten, he had Jamar
- 2:55Chase at 1-2, Justin Jefferson three, CD Lamb 4, Tyreek Hill 5,
- 3:00Drake London 6, Amanara St. Brown 7.
- 3:04Pukunukua 8. A.J.
- 3:05Brown 9. Brian Thomas Junior 10 Nico
- 3:09Collins So Avery got 4 points as well to stay tied with Will
- 3:13because he had Jamar Chase, he had Amanar St.
- 3:17Brown, he had Pukunukua and Nico Collins in the top 10.
- 3:20And then my top ten was 1 Jamar Chase, 2 Justin Jefferson 3
- 3:25Amanora St. Brown, 4 CD Lamb, 5 Malik
- 3:28Neighbors, 6 Pukanakua, 7 Brian Thomas Junior, 8 Drake London 9.
- 3:34Nico Collins 10 A.J. Brown.
- 3:36So I got a total of five points because I had Jamar Chase,
- 3:39Amanra at 3:00. So I got 2 points there.
- 3:42I had Pukanakua and Nico Collins and then moving on to the tight
- 3:47end rankings. This is even worse.
- 3:49If you saw the fan, the wide receiver rankings were bad.
- 3:51This is even worse than the wide receivers.
- 3:53Oh cool. So the actual top ten tight ends
- 3:58for fantasy this year was one Trey McBride, 2 Kyle Pitts
- 4:02'cause we all predicted that 3 Travis Kelsey, 4 Tyler Warren, 5
- 4:07Jake Ferguson, 6 Herald Fan and junior 7 Dallas Goddard, 8 Jawan
- 4:12Johnson, 900 Henry, 10 Dalton Schultz.
- 4:15So Will's actual top 10 was Brock Bowers at 1-2 George
- 4:20Kittle, 3 Sam Laporta, 4 Trey McBride, 5 TJ Hawkinson, 6 David
- 4:26and Joku, 7 Travis Kelsey, 8 Tyler Warren, 9 Colston
- 4:31Loveland, and 10 Mark Andrews. So Will got a total of three
- 4:35points because he had Trey McBride, he had Travis Kelsey
- 4:39and Tyler Warren in his top ten. And then Avery's top ten goes 1
- 4:44Brock Bowers, 2 George Kittle, three Trey McBride, 4 Sam
- 4:48Laporta, 5 Mark Andrews, 6 Travis Kelsey, 7 Evan Ingram, 8
- 4:53Colston Loveland, 9 Tyler Warren, and 10 Chig Aconquo.
- 4:59That one didn't turn out too great, but none of these did.
- 5:03None of. These did none of these, no.
- 5:05Regards. Yeah, so Avery got a total of 3
- 5:09points. And then my top ten goes like
- 5:12this. 1 Brock Bowers, 2 Trey McBride, 3 George Kittle, 4
- 5:17Travis Kelsey, 5 TJ Hawkinson, 6 Sam Laporta, 7 Evan Ingram, 8
- 5:23David and Joku, 9 Jake Ferguson, and 10 Zackerts.
- 5:28So I got a total of four points. So right now the total score is
- 5:33myself with 25 points and Will and Avery are still tied but at
- 5:3919 points this time. So going into the final round,
- 5:42there's a tiebreaker for 2nd place between Will and Avery,
- 5:46and I'm sure Avery's kickers are going to put him over the top in
- 5:49the next round. You mean under the under the
- 5:53basement? I went by names.
- 5:55I didn't even, I don't even think I looked at the rankings
- 5:57for those. I'm sure that's that's going to
- 6:02be good when we do those next week.
- 6:04All right, I will. I will not be able to keep it
- 6:07together. Just I remember his kicker list.
- 6:10I'm going to lose it. I'm going to have to go up on
- 6:12mute. There's just no way I can be
- 6:15professional as we read these names except for Board of
- 6:20Cannabis. The good news is, is that we're
- 6:23never professional on this podcast, so.
- 6:24That's for sure. All right.
- 6:28Well, as I mentioned today, we're going to talk about some
- 6:30divisional round matchups for the NFL playoffs.
- 6:32And then after we do that, we'll break down some coaching
- 6:36positions, like which coaching position do you think is the
- 6:38best available? And then at the end, I don't
- 6:41think we're going to rank our top five coaches, but I think
- 6:43we'll just talk about some coaches that you guys think
- 6:46would be maybe the best fit for maybe certain teams.
- 6:50So to start off, we'll go ahead and breakdown some of these
- 6:54divisional round games. So we'll start with the we'll
- 6:58just go in order. So we're going to start with
- 7:00Bills at Broncos. So will give us some thoughts on
- 7:03Bills and Broncos and let us know who you have winning this
- 7:05game. Oh, you know what?
- 7:08In my brain, In my brain, you said we were going to breakdown
- 7:11these games. I was ready and mentally
- 7:14prepared to go over the round that just happened.
- 7:18So when you said Bill's at Broncos, it threw my brain into
- 7:20an entire spiral. But anyway, I was.
- 7:22I was honestly thinking that too.
- 7:23I was like, wait, that game didn't happen?
- 7:25That's nice. Those are Broncos.
- 7:26Bill's didn't play Broncos. Bill's played dead.
- 7:28And I was ready to complain about the end of halftime thing
- 7:32there. I was ready for it.
- 7:35I said divisional. I You think I know what the
- 7:38rounds of the NFL playoffs are called?
- 7:41You think I'm that kind of nerd? Anyway, look, this Broncos team,
- 7:47I, I will be legitimately the most shocked if this Broncos
- 7:52team comes away with a win over the best.
- 7:54If the Broncos win I, I and spoiler alert, I also see the
- 7:58Texans sneaking and win out over over New England.
- 8:02I don't think we. Can talk about the other two
- 8:04games. Too, while you're at it.
- 8:05Yeah, I will. I will.
- 8:06I will. Don't worry, We'll get there.
- 8:08I don't think New England played well.
- 8:09If it is the Broncos, their offense is bad right until the
- 8:13fourth quarter and and the the Bills are just consistently
- 8:17tripping away at people. Look at the way they played the
- 8:19Patriots in the regular season. The last time they played, Josh
- 8:23Allen put the whole team on his back.
- 8:24And I just don't think, I don't think this Broncos team has the
- 8:29capability to stop the run game of the Bills.
- 8:33I don't think the Broncos offense is good enough to to
- 8:37win. They're not good enough to stand
- 8:38in their own and win a game. Like I think Josh Allen and that
- 8:41and James Cook are I, I just don't see this going well for
- 8:45the Broncos. They're going to be they're
- 8:46going to be just like the last time Dallas was the one seed.
- 8:49Actually. There's a lot of teams to get
- 8:51the first round by sit a week and then just lose because they
- 8:54sat a week that their opponent comes in playing a hard fought
- 8:57game. And this game versus
- 8:59Jacksonville that Buffalo just played was a hard fought game.
- 9:03I, I think Jacksonville was the only team that had a real shot
- 9:05to beat the Bills in the playoffs.
- 9:06And they didn't do it. It was close, but they didn't do
- 9:09it. And so, yeah, I I don't see this
- 9:12going well for the Broncos. Avery, what do you think?
- 9:14Do you agree? Yeah, same thing I think, I
- 9:17think the Broncos are probably one of the more overrated 1
- 9:21seeds I've ever seen. I think they get bailed out a
- 9:24lot by their defense. And I think, I think the Bills
- 9:28win like purely because of Josh Allen.
- 9:31I think I think he's enough of a game changer where in the
- 9:35playoffs, in the moment, he could overcome this Broncos
- 9:38team. So I think the Bills take it.
- 9:41Yeah, I agree. I have the Bills winning as
- 9:43well, mostly because of Josh Allen.
- 9:45He's the best quarterback in this game and in the playoffs.
- 9:48So I have the Bills winning also.
- 9:51What? He's the best quarterback once
- 9:54in the playoffs. You think, Matthew Stafford, I
- 9:57know you. Those are fighting words for
- 9:59Will. I know you think Matthew
- 10:00Stafford is the best quarterback because he's going to win MVP
- 10:03this year. Honestly, Will do you think that
- 10:07Josh, do you, do you think that Josh Allen is a better
- 10:11quarterback than or that do you think that Matthew Stafford is a
- 10:14better quarterback than Josh Allen?
- 10:16I think they are two separate style of quarterbacks, so it's
- 10:20hard to compare them as your straight quarterback to
- 10:22quarterback. But if I were going to go back
- 10:26in time and pick one of them, let's say they came out of
- 10:29college at the same time and pick one of them, I think I
- 10:32would pick the better ball thrower over over the scrambler
- 10:38playmaker because I want my quarterback to stand back there
- 10:41and throw the ball and let the playmakers do the thing.
- 10:45There's too much injury and too much risk.
- 10:47I mean, Josh Allen took shot after shot in his Jacksonville
- 10:51game. He got beat up and it's because
- 10:53he has to run the ball so much because they don't have the team
- 10:55around him. Whereas Matthew Stafford had the
- 10:58chance to run for a first down in their divisional game, chose
- 11:03throat and it was incomplete pass.
- 11:05He's he is the last guy that's going to be out there running
- 11:07the football. Now.
- 11:08It could be because he's getting up there in age wherever, but I
- 11:12do think as a pure ball thrower, quarterback Matthew Stafford is
- 11:16better than Josh Allen. As a pure thrower, yes, I stand
- 11:21by what I said, though. I think Josh Allen is a better
- 11:23overall quarterback than Matthew Stafford.
- 11:25I'm not saying Matthew Stafford's bad because he's
- 11:27great. He's calling him old dude.
- 11:29If you put Josh Allen on the Rams, that's fine.
- 11:32Put put Josh Allen on the Rams and tell me what you think would
- 11:35happen. Would the Rams be better or?
- 11:37Worse, they would be more dynamic.
- 11:42Yes, right. Yes.
- 11:45Which is why Rams win the Super Bowl this year.
- 11:49They trade their two ones and either get Justin Herbert, who
- 11:52doesn't want to play for another offensive coordinator, whatever
- 11:55the heck they got going on and in LA, or for Joe Burrow, and
- 11:58then we have a whole new offense and let's do it.
- 12:01What? About Shidur, you only need to
- 12:07trade for Shidur. 2 ones. 2 ones.
- 12:09You only need to trade 1/5 rounder for that anyways.
- 12:13The way I see this Bills and Broncos game is very similar to
- 12:15how I saw the Bills and Jaguars game.
- 12:18Because the Bills have the best rushing offense in the league.
- 12:20The Broncos have the second best run defence in the league, but
- 12:24last week they played the Jacksonville Jaguars who had the
- 12:27best rushing defense in the league.
- 12:29And although they didn't do super great on the ground, they
- 12:32still found a way to beat that defense.
- 12:35And so I'm taking the better quarterback in this game, I'm
- 12:38taking Josh Allen. So moving on to 49ers at
- 12:41Seahawks. So these two teams are one and
- 12:43one against each other this season.
- 12:45Neither team has scored more than 17 points in either
- 12:48matchup. So, Avery, who do you think's
- 12:51winning this game? I don't like saying this, but I
- 12:54think the Niners are going to take this.
- 12:55I don't like that, but I'm not going off what I want.
- 12:59I'm going off what I think is going to happen.
- 13:01Why do you think they're going to beat them?
- 13:04Just a feeling. Vibes vibes, dude.
- 13:08I've got a vibe about the whole. Playoff I I can, I can.
- 13:11I had already put down what I think is going to happen based
- 13:14off. Will you share it with us?
- 13:16Yeah, I'll do it real quick. Ready.
- 13:18Yeah, OK. 49ers beat the Seahawks, Rams beat the Bears,
- 13:22Patriots beat the Texans, Patriots beat the Bells, Rams
- 13:26beat the Niners and Patriots beat the Rams doing the Super
- 13:30Bowl. Clip it.
- 13:32Patriots. Yeah, I, I, I'm not going off
- 13:36what I want. I'm going off what I think is
- 13:37going to happen. I could have said, I could have
- 13:40said Oregon's going to get their cheeks clapped by Indiana.
- 13:44Like I knew that was going to happen, but I had hope and faith
- 13:48misplaced faith that it wasn't going to happen.
- 13:51But destiny, destiny arrives all the same.
- 13:57So it like it with Miami. I wonder is Crystal ball just
- 14:01watching just being like, let's get this over with, you know,
- 14:05like I I don't even know. It doesn't even look like they
- 14:07have a shot If Miami wins that game.
- 14:09I know I've drifted a little bit.
- 14:10If Miami beats Indiana, like everyone will be so shocked and
- 14:16confused. They'll be like, what happened
- 14:19like this look like a formality. Like, I've seen online little
- 14:23sketches of like, Indiana coming in as some big bad bully and all
- 14:28the other Alabama, Oregon and Miami being like.
- 14:32And it's like, yeah, I mean, kinda no one else is even like
- 14:36kind of showed up in that game. Anyway, yeah, I think Patriots
- 14:39take it but. All right, Will, what do you
- 14:41think about this 49ers Seahawks game?
- 14:43Who's taking it? So I'm actually getting given
- 14:48now to the Seahawks here. The 49ers are so beat up
- 14:51offensively and defensively. There were thoughts of Fred
- 14:54Warner might be coming back this week.
- 14:56They designated him to return from practice for next week, not
- 15:00for this week. So in hopes that they win this
- 15:02week, he's able to come back to the game next week.
- 15:04I actually don't think it moves the Eagle that much.
- 15:06Fred Warner, very good player, probably the best linebacker in
- 15:10the game right now when he's healthy and able to play.
- 15:12But being gone for the whole year, not that there's really a
- 15:16consistent defense on the Niners to match with.
- 15:20He would be out of out of sync with that team.
- 15:22Bob Sala I will talk about this later, but he's got the 400
- 15:26defense buzzing and has earned himself chances to get back in
- 15:29the head coaching from that. But I think that I I think that
- 15:33the Seattle I think the Seattle wins this one at home in front
- 15:38of their fans. Anything the atmosphere of the
- 15:40crowd, the I don't think it'll be I don't think it'll be
- 15:45pretty. I need to be a really ugly game.
- 15:47Real low scoring like 13 to 10 Seattle win.
- 15:50I think the defensive line for the Seahawks, we get to Brock
- 15:52pretty. He when he's off the spot has
- 15:55not been very good. And I know that's going to get
- 15:58so much crap. Look at these two stats right
- 16:01here. Yeah, OK, cool.
- 16:03But I I just think that you get him off the spot, he's not going
- 16:07to do as well as you want him to.
- 16:09Cato's gone, so Seattle has one less person that they have to
- 16:13really worry about. I just think that that that the
- 16:16Seahawks defense is tuned up too well and they will make up.
- 16:20I think Sam Darnold probably throws 2 interceptions, maybe 3
- 16:23interceptions. It's a bad game for Donald, but
- 16:25the defense makes up for it. OK, yeah, I know you mentioned
- 16:30that the 49ers have beat up specifically on defense, but I'm
- 16:33more worried about the offense for the 49ers in this game.
- 16:37The last time the 49ers offense couldn't do anything, they
- 16:40scored three points. But as I mentioned, but as I
- 16:43mentioned, neither team has scored more than 17 points in
- 16:46their two meetings so far this year.
- 16:47So I fully expect the 49ers and Seahawks game to be another low
- 16:51scoring game. It's a tough divisional matchup.
- 16:54I'm taking the Seahawks in this one because of their defense,
- 16:57but I do expect it to be a very close game.
- 17:00The 49ers are going to fight to stay in it like they've done all
- 17:03season long despite all the injuries.
- 17:05But I am still taking the Seahawks because I just think
- 17:07that their defense is significantly better.
- 17:11Just all season long, they've proved that they are either the
- 17:14second best or best defense in my opinion.
- 17:16And so I'm taking the Seahawks because of their defense in this
- 17:19game. Let's move on to Texans at
- 17:21Patriots Will. What do you think?
- 17:24Who's winning this game? I like the Texans to upset the
- 17:27Patriots here. I do too.
- 17:30I don't think, I don't think that Drake May played very well
- 17:36against the Chargers. I know the score may say, well,
- 17:38yeah, but they beat them by 13 points.
- 17:42Sure. They only scored one offensive
- 17:44touchdown. And it was at the very end of
- 17:46the game. Hunter Henry, how much time was
- 17:48left in the game? And that happened 9:45 left in
- 17:50the fourth quarter. The game was already over.
- 17:52That Chargers offense could do nothing.
- 17:55That was basically the nail in the coffin.
- 17:57Put it to 2 scores, although the Chargers didn't have them to
- 18:00score a touchdown anyway. I think that's Houston Texans
- 18:02defense who scored two touchdowns by themselves last
- 18:06week. They scored almost as many
- 18:08points as the Patriots did last week.
- 18:11Just the the Texans defense. I think this is going to be
- 18:14another. I think we got very lucky in the
- 18:18wild card round of the playoffs because this divisional round is
- 18:21going to be a swab. It's going to be ugly game after
- 18:26ugly game. There are four teams here.
- 18:29Excuse me, 6 teams remaining right.
- 18:31That's how that's how the math works.
- 18:34Three games. Nope.
- 18:35Four yeah, eight teams remaining.
- 18:36I can do math, guys. 8 teams remaining and. 4.
- 18:42Excuse me? Six of these eights are built on
- 18:45defense and the other two are the Rams and Bears.
- 18:48And the the Bears have a very good defense, high turnover
- 18:51ratio. But if they're not any
- 18:52turnovers, they're not that good otherwise.
- 18:55And so Bills, Broncos, Bills have have kind of lived off
- 19:00their defense and Josh Allen, Niners, Seahawks 2 defensive
- 19:04teams, Texans, Patriots say what you want, this Patriots defense
- 19:08very good over the season. Texans best defense in the
- 19:11league. So we're going to see some real
- 19:13ugly games in the in the second round and I think this Patriots
- 19:17Texans game is going to be real ugly up there in Foxborough.
- 19:21It's cold. I I just don't think that that
- 19:23the Patriots have have it in them to hang on.
- 19:27I think I think the the Texans defense will outlast the
- 19:31Patriots offense. Yeah, I agree with you.
- 19:34I think the Texans are going to win this game because of their
- 19:36defense. If you look at what this Texans
- 19:38just did to the Steelers, I know the Patriots are a better team
- 19:41than the Steelers overall and Drake May is a lot more mobile
- 19:45than Aaron Rodgers, but that Texans defense is scary.
- 19:49I'm worried about the Patriots offensive line in this game
- 19:51though versus that Texans defense because the Patriots
- 19:54allowed 48 sacks during the regular season, which is seventh
- 19:58most in the league. In the wild card game against
- 20:00the Chargers, they allowed five sacks.
- 20:02There was pressure on Drake May. The Chargers defense made it
- 20:05tough for the Patriots offense. So not only do the Texans have a
- 20:08great pass rush, but their secondary is better than the
- 20:11Chargers secondary. If the Patriots don't find a way
- 20:14to limit pressure on Drake May, the Texans are going to win this
- 20:17game. They have to find a way to limit
- 20:20that pressure on Drake May. And if they don't, then I don't
- 20:23I don't see a way where the Patriots are going to win this
- 20:25game if that happens. So Avery, what do you think?
- 20:28I know you have the Patriots winning because you have the
- 20:30Patriots going to the Super Bowl, but give us some thoughts.
- 20:34No, I, I just think, I mean, there's times where like, I
- 20:39mean, you'll see like what Will was saying Drake May taking on
- 20:42the Chargers and he didn't look that great, but you know, the
- 20:45Texans have a great defense. But I think I've just seen too
- 20:49many teams play to the strength of the other team, Meaning like
- 20:55there's as an example, I've seen some Oregon games where like you
- 20:59got this, like you only beat this team by like 3 scores and
- 21:02then they'll play a really good team and they'll beat them by 4.
- 21:04And it was like, OK, I feel like you guys just matched the energy
- 21:08with, you know, who you are playing.
- 21:10And so I just think they're going to be able to find their
- 21:12way to edge this out. My whole thing with with these
- 21:15predictions has very little to do with, you know, how they've
- 21:20done in the past or, you know, even necessarily like home field
- 21:24advantage. I feel like these games are
- 21:25almost always near a coin toss, like as far as like who could
- 21:31win? I mean, it, it, it this isn't
- 21:34like, you know, Seahawks versus the Raiders or something.
- 21:37It's like, dude, it's the playoffs, this stuff happened.
- 21:40Like any team can win, especially at this level.
- 21:44I but I just think the Patriots will edge it out.
- 21:47I think them being at home helps.
- 21:49I didn't think the Seahawks being at home helps.
- 21:52I just think the Niners are going to beat them.
- 21:53I just don't see the Seahawks making it pass.
- 21:55I don't know why, but yeah, I, I, but I'm confident in this.
- 21:58I'm confident. So for any people on TikTok that
- 22:01are watching this, go ahead and call me out.
- 22:04And then, you know, I'll take my lashings if I'm wrong, but if
- 22:08I'm right, bend over. You know Avery, something funny
- 22:16with that is I posted it was yesterday before the game, the
- 22:20Steelers and Texans game I posted you saying that the
- 22:23Steelers reminded you of the movie semi pro and I were like
- 22:28we will win 4th place and then Steelers fans were commenting
- 22:31like I'm keeping receipts and after the game I commented back
- 22:35and I said I don't think you're going to need those anymore.
- 22:37They. Did get 4th place, yeah.
- 22:48I love, I love the Internet. It's so good Internet.
- 22:51'S awesome it's awesome all right let's move on to the final
- 22:55game here this is the game of the divisional round not just
- 23:00because will is a Rams fan but because will also hates the bars
- 23:04so so I. Know I've had this.
- 23:07Thought Will, I'm going to ask you to hold your bears hate in
- 23:10for a second here. I'm going to have myself and
- 23:12Avery go first on this one Avery, why don't you start us
- 23:15off here? I know you already said you're a
- 23:17winner, but give us some thoughts on this game I'll.
- 23:20Be honest, part of the vibes comes directly from Will.
- 23:25I like the Rams and I really don't like the Bears.
- 23:29And The thing is, is it's not even like before it would have
- 23:34been like, I think you're a joke kind of thing for the Bears.
- 23:37But now it's like, I mean, OK, you're in, you're in the
- 23:40divisional round. You're not a joke.
- 23:42I think. I think you are funny.
- 23:45I think there are jokes in the organization.
- 23:48But I mean, you're the number two seed.
- 23:50I still think you're going to lose though.
- 23:52I just think, I think the Rams will play it much better than
- 23:56Lafleur, who just played not to lose like the last.
- 24:02Last. Like 40% of the game was, I was
- 24:05like, oh, so we're just like hoping the Bears don't bother to
- 24:10score the last quarter. That's that's the game plan.
- 24:12We're just thinking maybe they think the game's over and we'll
- 24:15all just run the clock out. I remember watching that
- 24:19Seahawks Panthers playoff game back when I think it was the
- 24:22year the Panthers went to the Super Bowl and the Seahawks were
- 24:27there and the Seahawks just played not to lose and they lost
- 24:31anyway. Yeah, I, I think the Rams will
- 24:33beat them. I I don't think they'll give
- 24:35Caleb Williams an opening like Joel mentioned last time.
- 24:38Just giving him that opportunity and just isn't a great idea.
- 24:42And I think the Rams will be able to close it out.
- 24:47OK, so for this game, much like I did with the Packers and Bears
- 24:52for this game, I did one key for the Rams and one key for the
- 24:54Bears going into this game. So one key for the Rams.
- 24:58Learn from the Packers mistakes and don't take your foot off the
- 25:01gas. If the Rams get out to an early
- 25:04lead, they have to keep going. They cannot take their foot off
- 25:07the gas in this game. Learn from the mistakes that the
- 25:10Packers made, which I don't think they would do anyway
- 25:12because Sean McVay is a better coach than Lafleur.
- 25:16But learn from what the Packers did against the Bears and keep
- 25:19your foot on the gas. You do not want to have another,
- 25:23you know, Caleb Williams comeback opportunity in this
- 25:26game. So just keep your foot on the
- 25:28gas. The key for the Bears, if the
- 25:31Bears want to win this game, they have to get off to a faster
- 25:33start on offense. They cannot get off to a slow
- 25:35start in this game because in their last four games, the Bears
- 25:39have been down going into the fourth quarter every single
- 25:42time. They're two and two in those
- 25:44games. Yes, they've been able to
- 25:45complete some comebacks, but there's also two games where
- 25:48they haven't been able to. So overall this year, the Bears
- 25:51are five and five when they're losing entering the fourth
- 25:53quarter. The teams as they've beaten the
- 25:56Packers twice, the Giants, Commanders and Raiders.
- 25:59The teams that they've lost to the Packers, Ravens, Lions
- 26:02twice, and 49ers. I don't think that the Bears can
- 26:07go into the fourth quarter down 21 to 7 in this game or down 24
- 26:12to 7 or whatever it is. They have to start faster.
- 26:15The Bears cannot get off to a slow start in this game because
- 26:17if they do, the Rams are not going to let them back in the
- 26:21game. I'm not saying Caleb Williams
- 26:23can't bring them back because we've seen him do it a bunch of
- 26:26times, but I am saying that it's going to be a lot harder to do
- 26:29against the Rams than it is against the Packers.
- 26:32As I mentioned before, Sean McVay is a better coach than
- 26:35Matt Lafleur, and this is against probable MVP Matthew
- 26:39Stafford. It's against one of the best
- 26:41coaches in the NFL, if not the best coach in the NFL.
- 26:43It's against Pukka Nakua and Devante Adams.
- 26:46This is not the Green Bay Packers.
- 26:48You cannot let yourself go into the fourth quarter being behind
- 26:52because if you do, I don't think you're going to win this game.
- 26:55The Bears have to start fast if they want to win and they have
- 26:58to keep it going throughout the entire game if they want a shot
- 27:02to beat the Rams here. All right will give us all your
- 27:06Bears hate. You know, I think that their
- 27:08bears have a fair shot. I think they're a good team.
- 27:11I think that the the bears might actually no, the bears fucking
- 27:14suck. Pardon mentally we sorry, I had
- 27:16to I had to drop the that's. A.
- 27:18That's a double. Sorry right there.
- 27:20We have to put an. Explicit thing on the podcast.
- 27:22Now we do. Anyway, and I I tried to hold it
- 27:26in and I just couldn't listen. Caleb Williams went 50%
- 27:30completion percentage through 2 picks and but he did have two
- 27:33touchdowns. So they threw the ball 48 times
- 27:36and he only completed 24 of them.
- 27:38Now I know what's going to be said.
- 27:40Well, Matthew Stafford only completed 24 passes.
- 27:43Sure he threw for 42 of them. He also sprained his index
- 27:47finger in the game stayed in and it had a visible effect, an
- 27:52absolutely visible effect on on the way that game went.
- 27:56I just don't think so. It was Devante's first game
- 28:00back. They had Stevens pieces, one of
- 28:03their one of their secondary pieces, last name Leigh, kind of
- 28:05remember the first name, his first game back Quinton.
- 28:10Quinton, right? I thought you were a Ramsay and
- 28:12will come on. Yeah, well, first year, show me
- 28:15some slides. I'm new to this.
- 28:17Thank you. Appreciate that.
- 28:18Done. I just think it's their first
- 28:20game back as I said about Fred Warner and they've had one game
- 28:23with their belt to try to mesh together.
- 28:25I just don't think it's going to be the same thing.
- 28:28I also think that just kind of like everyone, me included,
- 28:32well, not really kind of me included.
- 28:35No one really took the Panthers seriously.
- 28:37Oh, well, the Panthers are cute. Rams are going to win.
- 28:40And so they kind of win in with that mindset, like, OK, we're
- 28:43just going to kind of win. And then the Panthers went, hold
- 28:45on. We made the playoffs.
- 28:47We're here to play football. And kind of just like like we
- 28:50noted exactly as I said, it happened.
- 28:52The Rams in there is bad. It's going to come down to it.
- 28:55And then the playoff experience going to play into fact here.
- 28:59I think we're going to be in the same way, although I think the
- 29:04the Panthers did a better job scheming for Bryce Young who
- 29:08wants to stay in the pocket and throw the ball more then I think
- 29:12not. Not that Ben Johnson doesn't
- 29:13scheme well for Caleb Williams, I just think Caleb Williams
- 29:16plays more skiddard. I think that as soon as that
- 29:19defensive line for the for the Rams gets in, Caleb starts
- 29:22scrambling around. And when he starts to scramble
- 29:24around, he did make that one very beautiful throwing 4th
- 29:28down. But the amount of throws you can
- 29:30go watch where he's just scrambling around and throws a
- 29:33completely inaccurate ball is very high.
- 29:36So they're going to keep the pressure on him.
- 29:37Nate Landman, Puna Ford, Byron. Excuse me, Byron Young, The
- 29:43other boys down in the middle there.
- 29:44Turner Ford Young verse Jared verse headed for Jared.
- 29:49It doesn't matter. We're moving on.
- 29:51I think they're going to keep the pressure on him as we saw
- 29:54he's grown a lot with Colston Loveland and so if you take away
- 29:57their safety blanket, they get a lot less comfortable.
- 30:00I don't I don't like the Bears chances in this, but I also
- 30:05could definitely see them winning because as as we saw,
- 30:08you know, them hang around Caleb Williams will make it happen.
- 30:11And the Rams don't have a good enough defence.
- 30:14Yeah, the Rams don't have a good enough defense to not let it let
- 30:18it happen. And they have to stay foot in
- 30:19the gas, start hot. It's like they started hot in
- 30:22the Panthers game, but they have to stay on it the whole game.
- 30:25They can't let Matt Stapper get a sprained finger.
- 30:28Tests were negative, not broken by the way.
- 30:30That's good. That's good.
- 30:31That that is good. Very good.
- 30:35All right. Do you guys got anything else to
- 30:37add about the divisional round? I'd just like to reiterate, if
- 30:39you're expecting the same football, same level of football
- 30:42that we got in the wild card round, you probably should dial
- 30:45it back. I mean, there was the record was
- 30:47set for lead changes in the fourth quarter for the whole
- 30:51playoffs in the first round. I think we're going to get a lot
- 30:54more games like the Patriots, Chargers and the Texans,
- 30:57Steelers. So they're going to be slow and
- 30:59methodical field goal games. I mean, how many of the Patriots
- 31:03Super Bowls were won by an ad inventory field goal?
- 31:07Like you're just, you're just hoping, you're just hoping for
- 31:10the end. You got 2 great teams playing
- 31:13each other at this point. We've got 8 great teams left in
- 31:15the, in the league or in the in the race here.
- 31:18And everybody wants to win. And, and this is where defense
- 31:20really steps it up hopefully. And so if you're expecting fun
- 31:25shootouts, you come to the wrong place.
- 31:28That's the College Football Playoffs.
- 31:30Wait, Will, did you just call the Bears a great team?
- 31:33I I mean, they made it to the division around the playoffs.
- 31:35They're better than your team. What did I say?
- 31:38Huh? Who's that?
- 31:41You know what's funny is is on social media, but like for
- 31:44example, again with Avery's post about the Steelers, everyone is
- 31:47like, oh, they're better than your bucks, They're better than
- 31:49your Bucks. They say that like they say that
- 31:51like the the team that you're a fan of either qualifies you or
- 31:54disqualifies you to talk about NFL.
- 31:57I know. It it's stupid.
- 32:00Anyway, let's talk about some head coaching positions.
- 32:03So right now there are 9 head coaching jobs available.
- 32:08There was 8, but Mike Tomlin decided to step down as the
- 32:12Steelers head coach finally. And so now there are 9 open head
- 32:16coaching jobs. And so we're going to rank
- 32:18these. Do you guys want to go from 1:00
- 32:20to 9:00 or do you want to go 9 to one, nine to one?
- 32:24OK, let's go. I disagree actually.
- 32:31I do too. I need to put the Raiders.
- 32:33Let's start with Avery. Let's start with Avery, and
- 32:36we'll just go in the loop. So we'll go Avery, Will and then
- 32:38myself, and then we'll just keep going Browns.
- 32:43Why the Browns? I mean to that I would say
- 32:49anyone who questions that give me one reason why they should
- 32:53not be the lowest on here and then I will consider put it
- 32:58moving them up a spot or two. Because the Tennessee Titans are
- 33:01on here. No, no, no, no.
- 33:03I would much rather be with the Titans.
- 33:05Titans, Titans are Titans are coming up.
- 33:07Titans are coming up. They're getting a new stadium in
- 33:09like 2 seasons, are getting a little.
- 33:11Bit more cash I think. Oh, they're going to be, they're
- 33:14going to be, they're going to be hot commodity.
- 33:16They get, they get another variable again and don't fire
- 33:19him this time. They're going to be, they're
- 33:22going to be close to mediocre, which is more than I can say by
- 33:25the Browns. The Titans have a quarterback
- 33:28who threw less touchdown passes than games played.
- 33:31The Browns have. More.
- 33:33Quarterbacks than the they also. Have an elite defense.
- 33:40Where were they in the playoffs again?
- 33:45Yeah, the Browns. Every time I hear.
- 33:48About them, it sounds like it sounds like Real Housewives of
- 33:50the Browns. It's just like what's going on
- 33:53now? Who like who's making a fuss
- 33:55now? Baker Mayfield acted like it was
- 33:58he got out of the last chop out of nom like it.
- 34:00It sounds like it's just like the the jet sounds bad.
- 34:05The Raiders are just bad, but the Browns sounds like it's like
- 34:08no, this will suck your soul. Like this is like if you're a
- 34:12coach, if you're if I was a head coach and I could go to the
- 34:16Browns, like I'm going to be I'm going to be a meme if I don't
- 34:21win at least half games, I'm going to be a meme.
- 34:23If I go to the Titans, at least I'm going to be in like the
- 34:25background. If I go to The Jets, at least no
- 34:27one's going to expect me to do good.
- 34:30But the Browns, just at least there's Miles Garrett.
- 34:36That's like the one thing And I I don't even know how much
- 34:39longer he's going to be able to take it.
- 34:40I think it's just because he's got his own little Kingdom and
- 34:43he's like, look, I just show up to work.
- 34:45I collect my massive paycheck and I go back home and I watch
- 34:48anime with my wife. Like that's all I do.
- 34:50I don't get involved in anything else.
- 34:55Oh, OK. All right.
- 34:56Will which head coaching position do you think is the
- 34:59worst? My worst head coach job has got
- 35:01to be the Las Vegas Raiders. It's got to be.
- 35:04You have the number one pick this year and it's not going to
- 35:07help. You're going to take Mendoza
- 35:09most likely, and that's not even your problem.
- 35:12You traded away Jacoby Myers, you only have Brock Bowers,
- 35:16you've got Ashton Gente, but you don't have an offensive line.
- 35:19You cannot protect anybody back there.
- 35:21You have one pick, you're going to pick a quarterback.
- 35:23It's not going to fix a darn thing.
- 35:26People come to Las Vegas, they get distracted by the city, by
- 35:29the lights, by the everything. It's a very transient town.
- 35:33Las Vegas is the worst. It's it is just a bad situation
- 35:39and it's not going to get better anytime soon.
- 35:42Your stadium is always full and that's great.
- 35:44You got a new one that's great. But it's full of people who are
- 35:47in Vegas and oh, while we're here, let's see a game just like
- 35:51the three of us did. Oh, hey, while we're there,
- 35:53let's see a game you don't have. And I'm going to tell you they
- 35:56were loud in there, I'm sure, but I just this team you've got
- 36:02Max Crosby, who I mean you, you put them on IR and in the very
- 36:07next day he splits an Instagram video out of him jumping on a
- 36:11trampoline shooting basketballs proven I'm not actually injured.
- 36:15These guys are just messing with you.
- 36:17I just don't think this Raiders team is it it's in a bad way and
- 36:22it's not going to get better anytime soon.
- 36:24I'm. Going to go with the Tennessee
- 36:26Titans, obviously. I think their offensive line
- 36:29sucks, Their wide receivers can't catch.
- 36:31You have a quarterback who threw less touchdown passes than he
- 36:33played in games. I don't think Cam Ward is very
- 36:36good. I don't think he was very good
- 36:37going into the draft. Jackson Dart is clearly better.
- 36:40When I think of the Titans, I think of like if you think of
- 36:43all the teams and like good players, I can think of 1
- 36:47actually good player on that roster, Jeffrey Simmons on
- 36:50defense and then that's it. Like I don't and nobody else
- 36:53comes to mind. I think their roster just
- 36:55overall is just bad. So I went with the Tennessee
- 37:00science. All right #8 Avery, who you got
- 37:04at #8? I got the Raiders.
- 37:11A big reason. I just, it feels like after
- 37:15having been there with you guys, it just, it feels like playing
- 37:22at a bowl game, like, like if you're playing anyone with a
- 37:27decent fan base, it's an away game for you.
- 37:30And it just feels like, I don't know, it like being there, it
- 37:35did not feel. It just felt like, Oh yeah,
- 37:37we're from Vegas and that's cool that we got a team.
- 37:40We're going to support the team. Then they play Kansas City and
- 37:43it's like, oh, is this Arrowhead new stadium?
- 37:46Like, I mean, even the Jags had a lot of fans and that was
- 37:49before anyone realized they were good this season.
- 37:52True. I just, I just, it just doesn't
- 37:55seem like they're really on the precipice of anything great and
- 38:00history and the the curse that my science teacher sophomore
- 38:04year told me about, which I believe because I was young and
- 38:07impressionable back then. I just don't think.
- 38:11I just don't think they're. Yeah.
- 38:13Like having heard that, I'm like, yeah, that is not a good
- 38:16job to take if you want to. Win.
- 38:18What is this curse for the rest of us that don't know what
- 38:20you're talking about? He was saying like he, he, him
- 38:22and his like grandma were like were fans or something and like
- 38:27his grandma said something or I don't even remember.
- 38:30All I remember was that he was had one of those smart boards
- 38:34and while he was not knowing how to use it because it was the
- 38:37first year and he's trying to figure out and there's those
- 38:39four different colored pens. I don't really pens and he's
- 38:41like this reminds me like the Raiders are cursed, like they
- 38:46something happened and they've never like won a Super Bowl or
- 38:49gone to the playoffs since, and that's just going to keep going.
- 38:51So and he like told us he's like, if anyone asks you, the
- 38:54Raiders are bad and like they're cursed.
- 38:57I remember that. I don't remember the whole
- 38:58story, but I do remember. I don't remember the teacher's
- 39:00name. I remember what he looked like.
- 39:02Ish. But like, I remember that and it
- 39:05stuck with me. And that tells me the vibes,
- 39:08vibes. Not a good job.
- 39:10And it hasn't been a good job. So he's been right since 2000.
- 39:15What, 8? So yeah.
- 39:19All right, Will, who you got at #8?
- 39:22I'm in the Cleveland Browns. If we're not paying your phone
- 39:25if I'm not paying. Your phone.
- 39:26They're not the worst, but they're the second worst.
- 39:28Yeah, if I'm not paying the Browns at 9, I'm paying the
- 39:30Browns at 8. This job sucks.
- 39:32Nobody wants to play for Cleveland.
- 39:34I think a big piece here is the city too.
- 39:36The at least, at least Las Vegas is a destination city.
- 39:41Tennessee, Miami, Baltimore, Atlanta, New York Giants, even
- 39:46Pittsburgh's a football town. Arizona, people want to go there
- 39:49because the sun's out. Cleveland just sucks.
- 39:52It's not even, it's not even the best team in Ohio.
- 39:54Like, like Ohio, if you're going to be a fan of a team there,
- 39:58you're going to pick the Buckeyes.
- 40:00Yeah, you got the Bengals, you got the Browns.
- 40:02Cool. But like like you're going to
- 40:04pick a team that's going to keep winning.
- 40:05There are lots of Browns fans and lots of die hard Browns,
- 40:08Browns fans and they're out there week after week supporting
- 40:12that team. I just don't think, I just don't
- 40:15think it's a good job. They've got what, pick six this
- 40:18year and they've got Jacksonville's pick at pick 24.
- 40:22So they've got a couple first round picks this year.
- 40:24So at least you're stepping into maybe a little bit more help,
- 40:29but as we've seen in the past, you're pretty much stuck with
- 40:32playing Sdur Sanders or you're going to get fired.
- 40:34All right, Kevin Stefanski. So good luck.
- 40:37Just kind of how that goes. Good luck all.
- 40:42Right. And #8 I've got the Las Vegas
- 40:45Raiders. I couldn't bring myself to put
- 40:47them any higher than this because Mark Davis's haircut is
- 40:49just so bad. I don't understand why you would
- 40:52want to go there and look at that haircut every single day.
- 40:54So I know you have the number one overall pick, which is
- 40:57probably Fernando Mendoza. You have Brock Bowers, you have
- 40:59Ashton Gente, but you don't have an offensive line.
- 41:02And if you pick Fernando Mendoza without an offensive line, he's
- 41:05going to get absolutely murdered.
- 41:07I just think it's a terrible job.
- 41:09And Max Crosby may or may not be there, but you got to focus on
- 41:13building that offense because you're probably drafting
- 41:16Mendoza. You have to build the offensive
- 41:18line, which allowed the most sacks in the NFL this year.
- 41:21But ultimately, why would you want to look at Mark Davis's
- 41:23haircut every single day? Like, why would you want to do
- 41:25that? Also, why would you want to
- 41:28coach in the same division as the Broncos and the Chargers and
- 41:34the Chiefs? I know the Chiefs weren't good
- 41:36this year, but it's Patrick Mahomes is still going to be
- 41:38there for a while. So I don't think you would want
- 41:41to coach in that division. All right, Avery, who you got as
- 41:45the number 7? I got the Titans.
- 41:49You know, I still don't think it's a great job, but I know
- 41:51it's better than the Raiders and the Browns.
- 41:57I wasn't. Trying to like hype it up, but
- 41:59it is, I do think it's better than I don't think it's the
- 42:02bottom. All right, Will, what about you?
- 42:05I also have the Titans, and it's for some of the things that
- 42:07Avery said. They're getting a new stadium.
- 42:09They are. They're perpetually bad, sure,
- 42:15but they're not. They weren't that bad in recent
- 42:18history. Just get the right coach back in
- 42:20there. I think there's going to be a
- 42:22lot of available quarterbacks. 2 are probably going to be
- 42:26available. Tyler Murray probably be
- 42:28available. Malik Davis actually available
- 42:31after this year. So like, you've got some guys,
- 42:32Willis, Malik. Willis.
- 42:34Yes, Malik Willis. Excuse me, who the heck is Malik
- 42:37Davis? Somebody.
- 42:40Somebody my bad. He's watching, he's watching.
- 42:42Right now. And he was like.
- 42:44Didn't mean to out you like that.
- 42:46I actually. I actually think he either was
- 42:49or is a running back for the Cowboys.
- 42:53That checks out. Just burned my brain.
- 42:55Anyway, Millie Willis will be available, and so there are
- 42:58pieces you can bring in. You've got a couple good.
- 43:01Well, a good young wide receiver.
- 43:03Yeah, he was a running back for the Cowboys.
- 43:06He just pulled that out of his like subconscious.
- 43:10You've got pick 4, which could be better, but could definitely
- 43:14be worse too. So I don't know, I think
- 43:16Tennessee could be a worse job, but it's not.
- 43:20They need to get like a foundational guy in there
- 43:22though, and like like somebody who's actually going to build
- 43:25their own culture, not just all right, well, I'm just going to
- 43:28kind of be here. They look at like honestly, like
- 43:32a Harbaugh CEO type who or like a variable CEO type Dan
- 43:37Campbell, who doesn't have to call the plays.
- 43:39This is my culture, my team here and do it my way or get out like
- 43:44how they had Dan Campbell. They let him go, so yeah, yeah,
- 43:48get. Dan Campbell back from the
- 43:49building. That'll help.
- 43:52All right, at #7 I've got the Miami Dolphins.
- 43:55And the reason I have the Dolphins is because why would
- 43:59you want to play in the same division as Josh Allen and Drake
- 44:01May? Why would you want to do that?
- 44:04Also, you have Tua's massive contract that they just recently
- 44:07gave him. So you either ride it out with
- 44:09Tua or you have to deal with the impact of letting him go with
- 44:13that massive contract. I just think this whole roster
- 44:16needs to be completely reset in my opinion.
- 44:19Just trade everyone, get as many draft picks as you can, just
- 44:22reset the whole thing. I think they need a lot more
- 44:25than just a coach. I think it's going to take a lot
- 44:28more than just bringing in a new coach because I think that whole
- 44:31situation is just a disaster and their their ownership just
- 44:36doesn't really seem to be aware of how to run an NFL team
- 44:41properly. So I I know you know, you could
- 44:46make the case for another team here, but I just think it's the
- 44:49Dolphins just because I wouldn't want to coach in the same
- 44:51division as two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
- 44:55Hey Avery, you got it 6. You got the Cardinals.
- 44:58I think. I will say because it kind of it
- 45:03explains my pick, I've got the Dolphins at 5:00, but I just, I
- 45:07think the Dolphins edge out the Cardinals a little bit.
- 45:09I think I kind of agree with what you're saying.
- 45:11I think the two contract is an issue.
- 45:13However, I think they've got a lot of weapons there and I think
- 45:17at first I was thinking like, I think if anyone should be able
- 45:19to get this offense running, it would be Mike McDaniels.
- 45:22But I think they still have enough pieces there.
- 45:25And I think if you had someone who was competent going in
- 45:29there, I think within a year they could turn it around to at
- 45:32least a playoff contender. Plus it's in Miami.
- 45:35I just think that, I mean, just as far as jobs go, I think that
- 45:38would be better than the Cardinals think.
- 45:41The Cardinals got some other issues too, but I think the
- 45:45Cardinals might even have better potential in their roster than
- 45:51the Dolphins right now. Even though it looks like a
- 45:53mess. But I still got the Cardinals at
- 45:56six. Right will.
- 45:59I have the Miami Dolphins at six for all the same reason.
- 46:02We've already talked about. It's not a great division.
- 46:04It's easy to get distracted down to Miami, although it is a good
- 46:07destination. I, I just don't really, I,
- 46:10they've got good history, good culture down there.
- 46:12Well, they had good history, good culture down there a long
- 46:14time ago and they're trying to bring it back.
- 46:16I just, it's going to take a strong coach who's willing to
- 46:21reign in his players because again, Miami's nightlife is
- 46:25distracting. People get in trouble down there
- 46:27and so maybe that's a draw towards players.
- 46:31Older players like to retire in warmer places.
- 46:34That's why you saw, for instance, speaking out of
- 46:37nowhere, JJ Watt went to Arizona after Houston, right?
- 46:40He didn't go somewhere else. He he went to Arizona.
- 46:44And so that's the warmer climate will draw on the older players.
- 46:48You do have a quarterback on a giant contract and and basically
- 46:52no one else. Tyree Hill can't seem to stay
- 46:54healthy. You've got to run a chance.
- 46:55You have a decent team you're stepping into.
- 46:58There's just a lot of distractions down there and I
- 47:00just don't. I don't think it's great.
- 47:03Right now, number six, I've got the Arizona Cardinals.
- 47:06I don't think the Cardinals job is very attractive at all
- 47:09because why would you want to coach in the NFC West?
- 47:12Why would you want to do that? That division is stacked right
- 47:15now. It's a very tough division to
- 47:16coach in and there's just with how good those three teams are,
- 47:21I just don't think that's a very attractive position for you to
- 47:24be, especially when you don't have a legitimate quarterback.
- 47:27I think Jacoby Brissett is a baller, but I don't think he's
- 47:31going to get you into the playoffs in that division,
- 47:33especially with the team that you have right now, especially
- 47:36when you have to play the Rams, the Seahawks and the 49ers.
- 47:39I just don't see a way where you're going to make the play
- 47:42offs. And maybe, you know, probably
- 47:44you're going to get a little bit more time to build up that
- 47:46roster. But how are you going to do that
- 47:48when you can't figure out what you're doing at quarterback?
- 47:51And how long is it going to take you to figure out what you're
- 47:53doing at quarterback? Because these other three teams
- 47:56in the division have that figured out.
- 47:58They have that figured out either.
- 48:01I mean, I don't know what the Rams are doing with Stafford.
- 48:02I don't know what Stafford's doing.
- 48:03But for now, since I don't know, I'll just say they have their
- 48:06quarterback situation figured out long term and the Cardinals
- 48:10do not. So you've got Trey McBride on
- 48:13offense, But honestly, with the way things have been going in
- 48:17Arizona, I think there's a good chance that they end up trading
- 48:20him, whether he requests a trade or they just trade him to get
- 48:23more picks and reset the roster. I think there's a good chance of
- 48:26that. But I don't think the Cardinals
- 48:28job is very attractive at all, mostly because you're in the NFC
- 48:31West, right #5 Who you got at #5 Avery.
- 48:37The Dolphins, we just got those swapped for the same reasons.
- 48:40I, I honestly, I feel like the Dolphins and Cardinals are kind
- 48:43of the same type of position. I think those could have gone,
- 48:45go to gone either way, the six or five, 5 or 6.
- 48:48I do agree with what Will said. I do think as a pro and as a NFL
- 48:55player, I think being in Miami might be a little bit of a
- 48:59temptation. I mean, I just, I remember just
- 49:02that little video of Tyreke Hill, honest.
- 49:04I can't remember if he got in an accident or something with some
- 49:07altercation outside of the stadium or something like with
- 49:09the cops. Oh yeah, he got pulled over,
- 49:11Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 49:13I mean, that was just one that's a that's an anecdote, but I, I,
- 49:16I do think that could be an issue.
- 49:18But I just think the Dolphins job, I think it just has more of
- 49:21a spotlight on it. And I think that, I mean, you
- 49:24could see it as winning, but also I, I think a lot of
- 49:27coaches, I mean it, it comes down to your exposure.
- 49:29It's all about the inner you're always interviewing for your
- 49:32next job. And I think that Dolphins
- 49:33position is just a edges out the Cardinals.
- 49:37All right, Will, who you got? I lost my list and now I have to
- 49:41figure out who I haven't have not said got it.
- 49:47We are at #6 correct. #5. #5 great, perfect.
- 49:51Then I'm right on track. I've actually got the New York
- 49:54Giants here, man. I I just like the other teams
- 50:01better. I think that's where it comes
- 50:03down to is that the Giants are lucrative.
- 50:06You had a young team, yeah, a young quarterback who seems to
- 50:09be OK. The problem is, is everybody
- 50:12gets hurt on that team. Everyone gets hurt on that team,
- 50:14right? You lost your best receiver,
- 50:16gone. Your star running back who
- 50:18emerged this year, gone. Spice Jackson Duck didn't get
- 50:21hurt the way he was taking hits. Well, he did have like 20
- 50:24concussions. Bingo.
- 50:26You were supposed to have some All Star great defensive line
- 50:30didn't pan out and and things just didn't seem to work out for
- 50:34the Giants and it's kind of been that way since Eli Manning.
- 50:36What things just haven't quite worked out even with Eli
- 50:40Manning, who he finished with an exact 500 win loss record for
- 50:44his career was like 271 and 271 or something like that.
- 50:48Some of your fact checked out. I don't really care.
- 50:50It was exactly 505 hundred though he won the exact same
- 50:53amount. So things he, he did win 2 Super
- 50:56Bowls. You got 2 semi recent Super
- 50:57Bowls there, which is great. And you're trying to get back to
- 51:00that. I just, I just don't think this
- 51:02job in New York is as lucrative as you want.
- 51:04You got the number 5 pick this year and you're sharing a
- 51:07stadium, which is fine, whatever, who cares?
- 51:10You're also lying about it because your name is in New York
- 51:12Giants, your stadiums in New Jersey.
- 51:15Let's be real about it, please. I just don't think this Giants
- 51:18job is near as tasty as people think You're playing in the NFC
- 51:21East is drill life to point out to where it is a bit softer.
- 51:25The Eagles have run the division for a while and it seems as if
- 51:27if the Cowboys can get healthy next year that they should be
- 51:30poised to have a pretty good year.
- 51:32OK, and #5 this is where I've got the Cleveland Browns.
- 51:36I think the Browns job is actually a lot more attractive
- 51:38than people think it is because whoever is the coach, you
- 51:41already have a great defense. You've got Miles Garrett, you've
- 51:44got Carson Swessinger, you've got some really good pieces on
- 51:46defense. So you already have that side of
- 51:48the ball established. You do need to figure out what
- 51:51you're doing on offense, but you do have some good pieces there
- 51:53as well. You've got some good young
- 51:55running backs, You've got Harold Finn and Junior who had a really
- 51:57good season in his rookie year. You just need to figure out what
- 52:01you're doing at quarterback. There's a couple other positions
- 52:03too, but mostly at quarterback, but at least you already have
- 52:06one side of the ball fully established.
- 52:09I think the AFC North is in limbo a little bit right now
- 52:12because the Ravens don't have a coach, the Steelers don't have a
- 52:15coach. The Bengals suck, their defense
- 52:19is terrible. You don't know if Joe Burrow is
- 52:21actually going to be there. So right now I think the Browns
- 52:25is a lot more attractive because the the division is in limbo.
- 52:29None of the teams are particularly good and it's a
- 52:33it's a good opportunity to come in to a division where there's
- 52:36going to be a lot of changes and you can do your thing with your
- 52:41team and potentially win the division.
- 52:43I'm not saying the Browns are going to, but there's a lot of
- 52:47opportunity there specifically because you have an elite
- 52:50defense. You already have an elite team
- 52:52on one side of the ball. So just come in, figure out the
- 52:56other side, and I think all you have to do is just have a
- 52:59mediocre offense and you can win games.
- 53:03You don't have to have a good offense, You just have to have
- 53:05mediocre offense and you can win games because you already have
- 53:08an elite defense. So that's why I have the Browns
- 53:10at 5. All right #4 Who you got, Avery?
- 53:15You got the Falcons. I think the Falcons are just 1,
- 53:23one good coach away from piercing it all together.
- 53:27I don't mean that their previous coaches weren't good, but I mean
- 53:29like the right coach. I, I, I feel like the Falcons
- 53:32are always on the precipice of being a good team.
- 53:37They rarely just have garbage players.
- 53:39They've always got good pieces, maybe not the best.
- 53:42I feel like they're usually just like barely above average, but
- 53:44like they just constantly fall short.
- 53:47And I just feel like there's just if you just have the right
- 53:50guy there to put the pieces together, I feel like they could
- 53:52be really good. So I've I like that position.
- 53:54I feel like that job in particular is just has enough
- 54:00potential to elevate you. So I think Falcons.
- 54:06Are full all right, who you got Will.
- 54:08I also have the Falcons at #4 I like the roster, I like the
- 54:12area. I was, I mean, everybody was
- 54:15maybe not everybody. I was a bit shocked that they
- 54:17fired their head coach winning four straight games in the
- 54:19season. I I don't think it was now fair.
- 54:24Who cares, right? You don't have a first round
- 54:27pick this year. You gave it to the Rams, but
- 54:29again, you finished season 8-9 last year, 8:00 and 9:00 last
- 54:32year and on a four-game win streak.
- 54:36So obviously your, your culture was hitting, your pieces were,
- 54:40were meshing together. And so you're stepping into a
- 54:43team that's that is able to win. I mean, so it's just a few
- 54:48pieces here and there. Bring a couple veterans.
- 54:50I like to sit on a team. I I'm surprised they're on the
- 54:53head coaching search. All right, and #4 I've got the
- 54:59Pittsburgh Steelers. I think they have a decent team,
- 55:02but it's an older team. You have no quarterback because
- 55:06Aaron Rodgers is probably going to retire and yes, will I know
- 55:10will Howard is there yes, I know he has no experience as a
- 55:13starting quarterback. You don't know what you're doing
- 55:16at quarterback. You're going to have a later
- 55:19draft pick because they made the playoffs.
- 55:21And I just think that, you know, a lot of these guys on defense
- 55:24like Cam Hayward and TJ Watt, like they're getting up there in
- 55:29H They're I know they're still good players, but they're
- 55:32getting up there. They're a little bit older of a
- 55:34team. So yes, they do have more
- 55:35experience, But I just, I, I don't understand why the
- 55:40Steelers haven't figured out what their long term plan is at
- 55:43quarterback. And maybe that's the reason that
- 55:45Tomlin decided to step down because he didn't know how to do
- 55:48that. But I just, I just think that
- 55:51this team is, it's an attractive place to go because it's the
- 55:54Steelers, but it's not as attractive as some might think
- 55:57because that team is a little bit older.
- 56:00And so I think you're going to be, you know, you don't have a
- 56:02necessarily a long term plan in place.
- 56:07All right #3 Here you go, Avery. Got the Ravens at three.
- 56:14Yeah, yeah, a little surprise. I think the Ravens have the best
- 56:20team currently. I think that if for any coach to
- 56:24jump in there, I think they have the pieces there Sounded like
- 56:29there was some issue between Harbaugh and Jackson.
- 56:34Not really sure what that was or if that's just simply like maybe
- 56:37that is the organization being like, hey, we got to, you know,
- 56:40let you go, you know, our quarterback doesn't like you.
- 56:44But with Derrick Henry, Lamar Jackson, I think that you got a
- 56:48great chance to do a lot there. So you got them at 3:00?
- 56:52OK, what about you Will? I, this is where I have the
- 56:55Arizona Cardinals at #3 I think you have, you have a team
- 57:00that's, I mean, they were right there in every single game.
- 57:03They lost. They, they were kind of the
- 57:05opposite of the Broncos this year.
- 57:07They put up a lot of points. They just couldn't stop anybody
- 57:10from putting up points. They look up, I don't know what
- 57:13they're they're point margin differential is, but it's got to
- 57:17be one of the worst in the league.
- 57:19You've got an offense that's ready to win the emerging star
- 57:22Michael Wilson. You've got Marvin Harrison
- 57:24Junior, you've got Trey McBride. You've got a rotating core of
- 57:27running backs. Take your third pick, either
- 57:30trade it, get a good quarterback in that's a veteran that's ready
- 57:33to lead the team. I don't think was said that they
- 57:38could keep Tyler Murray. Tyler Murray's not your answer.
- 57:40I mean, you saw it clearly. You need a quarterback who can
- 57:43actually see over the offensive lineman.
- 57:45Get one of these guys maybe, maybe you get Malik Willis in
- 57:47there and let him lead your team.
- 57:49I don't think he's a step up from from Jacoby percent.
- 57:53I think he's a sidestep from Jacoby percent.
- 57:55Keep Jacoby for that matter. Just bolster that defense.
- 57:58It was shown time and time again that Jacoby cancelling the ball
- 58:0260 * a game. He's good at it.
- 58:04He did it well. They just didn't have a defense.
- 58:07I could stop, stop anything. I mean, it was like a civil
- 58:10diary. Everything was getting through.
- 58:12So most of that defense up. I do think you're right.
- 58:15They're into the probably the toughest division of all these
- 58:18teams. NFC West beings that three of
- 58:21the four teams are in the divisional round of the playoffs
- 58:23and the other team is the Cardinals picking at #3 So you
- 58:27have a tough Rd. uphill. But if you are, if you hire the
- 58:31right people and the Cardinals played, I think that the Niners,
- 58:34the the 49ers, the Rams and the Seahawks probably toughest on
- 58:40anybody. The NFC West is a a bruised and
- 58:43bloody division when it when it's all is said and done.
- 58:46I like that job. It's also an enticing place to
- 58:48play because you know Arizona and warm and sunshine.
- 58:51And just so you know, will the Cardinals have a point
- 58:54differential of -133 which is the fifth worst?
- 58:585th worst? Yeah, not the worst, but not far
- 59:02off. Right and #3 I've got the
- 59:06Atlanta Falcons. I think the Falcons head
- 59:10coaching position is very attractive because I think they
- 59:13are a good head coach and a good quarterback away from competing.
- 59:17If you look at their overall roster, they have a star running
- 59:20back, they have a star wide receiver, They have a good
- 59:22offensive line which only allowed 26 sacks this year,
- 59:25which was tied for the third least.
- 59:26They have a good defense that's getting better.
- 59:28A young defense to The Falcons were second in the league in
- 59:31sacks with 57. They have promising young pieces
- 59:34on defense. They barely allowed 200 yards
- 59:37passing a game. So their defense is stepping it
- 59:40up and they're an overall young defense.
- 59:42I think they have a lot of young star pieces that they can work
- 59:46off of. They just have to find the right
- 59:49quarterback and the right coach. And if they can do that, I think
- 59:52that they can actually compete for a playoff spot.
- 59:55So I think the Falcons is a very attractive job.
- 59:58They just have to figure out what they're doing with Michael
- 1:00:00Pennix because he's not it. And Kirko Chains is 37, so you
- 1:00:05got to figure that out. But outside of that, I think
- 1:00:07their overall roster is pretty solid, right #2 Who you got,
- 1:00:11Avery? All right, at 2, I got the
- 1:00:13Steelers mainly because I just think that's probably the
- 1:00:17cushiest job around. They've had how many coaches
- 1:00:21since what, the 60s? Like 3.
- 1:00:24Yes, 3. And they were.
- 1:00:26They haven't fired a coach in 69 I think.
- 1:00:28Did they just ask him? He stepped down in his own.
- 1:00:32Quit. I know, but they're like, we're
- 1:00:34not firing you because that's not our culture.
- 1:00:36You need to step down. Yeah, basically is what?
- 1:00:38Happened. I don't think we'll ever know
- 1:00:40that part for sure, but that's. We'll never know but you.
- 1:00:43Know. Step down.
- 1:00:48No, I, I, I just think that's AI think that's a great culture.
- 1:00:50I think for the most part, I think a lot more teams should
- 1:00:53adopt that that kind of culture. Like look, we're, this is like
- 1:00:57the new regime. We're going to, we have trusted
- 1:01:00them, we have given them money and access to the team.
- 1:01:04We are going to let them like ride with this for a while, you
- 1:01:09know, like there will be some probably bumpy roads.
- 1:01:11But instead of just swapping it out, you know, I have a best
- 1:01:15friend. We got an argument, new best
- 1:01:16friend, you know, Oh, we got an argument, new best friend.
- 1:01:18It's like, OK, why don't you like work it out?
- 1:01:21Why don't you like give it some time?
- 1:01:23You don't win the Super Bowl every year no matter what team
- 1:01:25you are. So like, just let it chill.
- 1:01:27And I think that's part of the reason the Steelers have been as
- 1:01:30successful as they have been throughout the years.
- 1:01:33So just for that reason, I think the Steelers job is a pretty
- 1:01:37sweet job. And I think they take, I would
- 1:01:39assume they take more consideration like they are a
- 1:01:42little care, a little more careful than other teams in
- 1:01:44choosing that because they know that coach is going to stick
- 1:01:47around for a while. OK.
- 1:01:49All right. Well, who you have it too.
- 1:01:50I also have the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 1:01:52I think that Pittsburgh is a good spot.
- 1:01:55They've got a team built to win. They just make the playoffs.
- 1:01:57Just one NFC North or AFC North, Excuse me.
- 1:02:00That division is very gettable right now.
- 1:02:03As mentioned, three of the four teams have open coaching jobs
- 1:02:07and the fourth is the Bengals, so who knows what you're going
- 1:02:09to get there. Somehow Zach Taylor made out all
- 1:02:12of this. For now, we'll see what happens.
- 1:02:15I like the Steelers position. I I don't know, like you said,
- 1:02:17it's the cushiest job, right? You know, you know, chances are
- 1:02:20low you're getting fired. They're going to fire every
- 1:02:22coordinator around you years before they over fired you as
- 1:02:25head coach. So yeah.
- 1:02:28All right, I've got their division rival at #2 the
- 1:02:31Baltimore Ravens. If you want to be a coach with
- 1:02:35Super Bowl expectations, this is the team you want.
- 1:02:38Because you have two time MVP at quarterback in Lamar Jackson and
- 1:02:41you have Derek Kenya running back.
- 1:02:43I mean, how can you not want to be on that team?
- 1:02:46But if you want to go to a team that you want to build up and
- 1:02:50that doesn't have Super Bowl expectations, this is not the
- 1:02:53job that you want. Because the moment you step in
- 1:02:55as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, you are going to be
- 1:02:58expected to make the playoffs, to win the division and to
- 1:03:01compete for the Super Bowl. The AFC North is going to be
- 1:03:04very winnable because, again, the Steelers don't know what
- 1:03:07they're doing at quarterback. The Bengals have a terrible
- 1:03:10defense, and you don't know if Joe Burrow is going to be there.
- 1:03:13And the Browns are the Browns. All right, Avery, who is your
- 1:03:21number one most attractive head coaching position right now?
- 1:03:25The Giants baby. It's new.
- 1:03:29York. That's I just feel like, dude,
- 1:03:31that's a spotlight, man. That's, you know, if you're a
- 1:03:33competitor, if you want to win, if you want that top job, you
- 1:03:37know, that Alabama job of the NFL, like that's it, you know,
- 1:03:41high expectations, high spotlight, But also I think
- 1:03:45they've got attractive things right now.
- 1:03:47I mean, I'm assuming all of those guys that are injured will
- 1:03:50be back next season. Hopefully they can stop them
- 1:03:53from getting hurt again the next season.
- 1:03:55But I just think that is just the premier spot.
- 1:03:58I think if Jerry Jones wasn't as involved, I think the, the, Oh
- 1:04:03my gosh, I'm trying to say the Dallas Giants, the Cowboys would
- 1:04:06be the best job. But because Jerry Jones still
- 1:04:10exists and still plays that same shit, it's our dad.
- 1:04:14I think the Giants are the top, top spot.
- 1:04:18All right, Will, who do you have at 1:00?
- 1:04:21The only team left, the Baltimore Ravens.
- 1:04:23I think if you're a head coach, you want to win and you think
- 1:04:27your plan is better than everybody else's.
- 1:04:29And so why not step into a team that is built to win right now?
- 1:04:33I think they had an absolute shock of the season this year.
- 1:04:36Eight wins was well below expectation, but they were right
- 1:04:41there at the end. Playing into the playoffs and
- 1:04:44your kicker misses a kick in your head, go to it's fired,
- 1:04:46right? And so you get a new kicker,
- 1:04:48maybe, maybe get some better pieces.
- 1:04:51You have to take 14 this year. Bring in an extra offensive
- 1:04:53lineman now that one literally never hurt you more help to get
- 1:04:57Lamar the ball out of his hands. Maybe other receiver in there.
- 1:05:01Maybe replace Mark Andrews. Keep Isaiah, likely get rid of
- 1:05:04Mark Andrews even though you just resigned him.
- 1:05:06I just think that this Ravens team is built to win right now.
- 1:05:10And if you were trying to be a head coach, I heard today in a
- 1:05:13different podcast that this is kind of the year of the return
- 1:05:16of head coaches. I think that we could see a
- 1:05:20strong head coach that is out of the game for now or maybe a guy
- 1:05:25who didn't work well somewhere step into Atlanta with a better
- 1:05:30team, better scenario. She's not Atlanta Baltimore with
- 1:05:34a better team, a better scenario and and then just absolutely
- 1:05:36crush it in a good way. I like what they've got going on
- 1:05:39there. I think that everything's going
- 1:05:40to be great for them moving forward.
- 1:05:43Just take the right coach at this point.
- 1:05:44I don't think Harbaugh was the wrong coach there.
- 1:05:47I also heard that they his message just got stale, right.
- 1:05:50You just need to need a need a fresh perspective.
- 1:05:53They stole. What I was going to say, I was
- 1:05:55going to say in the words of Avery's brother Sater, he was a
- 1:05:59piece of stale. Yeah, dog, sorry about that.
- 1:06:02Didn't mean to just RIP that from your mouth, in your mouth.
- 1:06:05Harbaugh just got stale. I think Harbaugh will absolutely
- 1:06:08be a coach somewhere else. I just think that they need to
- 1:06:11get some fresh eyes, fresh coach in there and then they'll be
- 1:06:15probably winning the North next year.
- 1:06:17OK, Yeah, I agree with Avery. I think it's the New York
- 1:06:20Giants. I think the Giants have the most
- 1:06:21attractive head coaching job right now because you don't have
- 1:06:25Super Bowl expectations walking in.
- 1:06:28And so if you don't win, then that's kind of what people are
- 1:06:31expecting right now anyway. But if you do win, if you put
- 1:06:34together a roster and you do win, you look super cool because
- 1:06:38the roster's been bad for a long time.
- 1:06:41You come with less expectations and you get to build around the
- 1:06:44pieces that you already have, which I think are great.
- 1:06:46You've got a young quarterback in Jackson Dart who showed a lot
- 1:06:49of potential this season. You have rookie running back Cam
- 1:06:53Scataboo. I know he got hurt.
- 1:06:54You have Malik Neighbors, I know he got hurt too.
- 1:06:56But you have some really nice pieces on offense to build
- 1:06:59around. You also have some good pieces
- 1:07:00on defense to build around, specifically Brian Burns, who
- 1:07:04had 16 1/2 sacks this year. You also have last year's number
- 1:07:073 overall pick. And Abdul Carter, I know he
- 1:07:09didn't have a great season, but he's got a lot of potential.
- 1:07:12So you do have a lot of really good pieces that you can build
- 1:07:14around. And also Jackson Dart.
- 1:07:17Why would you not want to coach Jackson Dart?
- 1:07:19Come on, it's Jackson Dart. All right, so we're running out
- 1:07:22of time. We're getting very low on time,
- 1:07:23but let's just give who you think is your top available head
- 1:07:26coach right now. Avery, we'll start with you.
- 1:07:28Who do you think is the top available head coach right now?
- 1:07:32I'd say John Harbaugh, like in general, that seems to be the
- 1:07:36the main guy. That's who I would want.
- 1:07:39Also, I like Robert Sala. I mean, I think he's I do too.
- 1:07:43I just, I think with The Jets, I think he did as well as we could
- 1:07:47have expected. I think he's doing great with
- 1:07:49the Niners and I, I just generally like giving coach
- 1:07:54another opportunity at head coach after they've already had,
- 1:07:58whether you call it a failed stint.
- 1:08:00I feel like every coach has their job was either a failed
- 1:08:03stint unless they went up to a head coach.
- 1:08:04If you were a head coach and then you weren't, it was
- 1:08:06considered a failure, I guess. But I always see it as kind of a
- 1:08:09learning opportunity and I like to see those guys get back into
- 1:08:13it and kind of learn from their mistakes and go again.
- 1:08:15And I just think Robert just seems to have great energy and I
- 1:08:20like his vibe. Yeah, also he was with The Jets,
- 1:08:23so I don't hold that against. Now that's The Jets.
- 1:08:26Nobody does well with The Jets. So absolutely, I agree with you.
- 1:08:29I think Robert Sala is one of the top head coaches available.
- 1:08:33But Will who do you have as your top head coach available?
- 1:08:36I'd like to make an argument that Robert Sala is not
- 1:08:39available. He's actively under contract on
- 1:08:42a team stealing the playoffs, so I don't have him listed.
- 1:08:46So we'd like to go ahead, nerd, nerd.
- 1:08:49I'd like to go ahead and call for a recount here.
- 1:08:53So there's that. Who's your top?
- 1:08:56I don't know that will be. Available.
- 1:09:00Sean McDermott, maybe. No, I don't think he's getting
- 1:09:04fired. They won the first round.
- 1:09:05I don't think he's getting fired.
- 1:09:06I don't know, man. Kurt Cignetti, he's getting
- 1:09:10pulled out. He's getting pulled out of
- 1:09:13college. To coach the Raiders with he's
- 1:09:16getting pulled out of. Indiana to go to Alabama.
- 1:09:18They're like Caitlin, get out, get out.
- 1:09:21We found we found save and reincarnate.
- 1:09:25I actually think that honestly though, I actually think there's
- 1:09:28a strong chance, like a legitimate strong chance that
- 1:09:32Mario Cristobal is an ex coach to the Miami Dolphins.
- 1:09:36He moves from Hurricane to Dolphins.
- 1:09:38No, I don't. I don't think so, only be only
- 1:09:41because of his affinity for Miami Hurricanes.
- 1:09:44I don't think it has as much to do with the town like the city.
- 1:09:47I think it has more to do with the college.
- 1:09:48And that's saying I'm saying that as a coping Oregon fan.
- 1:09:52I'm like, if you left us for Miami, you better friggin stay
- 1:09:57there, dude. Like, because otherwise it was
- 1:10:00like, oh, I'm leaving because this is my, my best, my, my, my
- 1:10:03alma mater. And now it's like, actually it
- 1:10:05was just because it was a better job and now I'm going to leave
- 1:10:07again because I'm just a piece of shit.
- 1:10:08Sorry, dad, but he probably agrees.
- 1:10:10I'm sure he agrees with that anyways.
- 1:10:17I think for me, I'll go with somebody that you guys haven't
- 1:10:20mentioned. I think one of the top coaches
- 1:10:22that are available right now is Chargers defensive coordinator
- 1:10:26Jesse Minter. I think he's a fantastic coach.
- 1:10:29He's been the defensive coordinator for the Chargers for
- 1:10:31the last two seasons and since he's been with the Chargers as a
- 1:10:35defensive coordinator, the Chargers have ranked 1st in
- 1:10:37points per game allowing 17.7 and 9th in points per game,
- 1:10:41allowing 20, and they've ranked 11th and 5th in total yards
- 1:10:45allowed. I think he has come into the
- 1:10:47Chargers and he's changed their defense so they've been able to
- 1:10:51compete the last two years and I know it didn't make a difference
- 1:10:54for the playoffs, but that's not the defense's fault that they
- 1:10:57lost that game 100. Percent to pay the offense to 1
- 1:10:59touchdown. Yes, they own them to 16 points.
- 1:11:02That's very good. So he's been able to come in and
- 1:11:05change the defense for the Chargers.
- 1:11:06Also, before he was the defensive coordinator for the
- 1:11:09Chargers, he was the defensive coordinator for the Michigan
- 1:11:12Wolverines when they won the national championship.
- 1:11:16Asterisk he had in 2023 he had the best defense in the country
- 1:11:22allowing just 10.4 points per game and they were the best in
- 1:11:25total yards allowed. And then the year before in
- 1:11:282022, which was his first year, they were 7th best in points
- 1:11:33allowed with 16.1 and they allowed the 6th most or 6th
- 1:11:37least. Sorry, total yards per game.
- 1:11:40So he has been a proven defensive coordinator at the
- 1:11:44college level. He's now a proven defensive
- 1:11:46coordinator in the NFL, and I think that he would be a very
- 1:11:49good head coach, especially if you're a team looking for a
- 1:11:52defensive head coach. I think that I would go with
- 1:11:55him. I put the asterisk there in
- 1:11:57reference to Jim, not your guy. I know, I know, all right.
- 1:12:04That guy was just an innocent. It was just a Millicent
- 1:12:06bystander. All right, it's.
- 1:12:09Just a dumb stick the reference. Well, that's all we got time for
- 1:12:12on this episode, guys. Thank you for tuning in and
- 1:12:14listening. Please go follow us on all of
- 1:12:16our social media channels. And as always, guys, don't
- 1:12:20forget to keep your balls played with.
- 1:12:22We'll see you next time. Bang out y'all.
- 1:12:24Also, Mark Davis's haircut still sucks.
