South Alabama is making a big move by officially naming Daniel McCarthy as athletic director — a role he’s been running as interim AD since June. With 16 years at the school and a proven track record as deputy AD overseeing football, baseball, softball, scheduling, and university athletics coordination, McCarthy is the perfect choice to lead.
