- 0:04Speaker 1: I want to start off today's episode with a quote,
- 0:07Speaker 1: No man has a good enough memory to be a
- 0:10Speaker 1: successful liar, Abraham Lincoln. In two thousand and eight, a
- 0:16Speaker 1: woman came home and was greeted by a police officer
- 0:19Speaker 1: who informed her that her husband had been murdered. She
- 0:22Speaker 1: was stricken with grief and went with the police to
- 0:25Speaker 1: help in any way she could, but her lies would
- 0:29Speaker 1: soon catch up with her, as her husband would walk
- 0:31Speaker 1: into the interrogation room and she was quickly put into handcuffs. Warning.
- 0:38Speaker 1: The following podcast contains graphic content and material intended for
- 0:44Speaker 1: a mature audience. Listener discretion is advised. Hey, how's it going.
- 1:09Speaker 2: My name's Ben and I'm Nicole and you're listening to
- 1:12Speaker 2: Wicket and Grim.
- 1:13Speaker 1: A true crime podcast. How's it going?
- 1:17Speaker 2: It's going good?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Guess what what? It's October?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Oh, spooky season.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Technically technically today as of recording. Do you know what
- 1:26Speaker 1: day it is?
- 1:28Speaker 2: I can't remember. It's the second or the third?
- 1:30Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's October third?
- 1:32Speaker 2: Oh? Okay?
- 1:34Speaker 1: What some people know what I'm getting at and I'm
- 1:37Speaker 1: just gonna leave it.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Right, Okay? Is it? It's not the mean girls? Oh?
- 1:41Speaker 2: Oh shit?
- 1:42Speaker 1: It's October third.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Well then, if anyone should know what that is, it's me.
- 1:45Speaker 1: No shit, but you didn't wait to go Well, I.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Didn't know what freaking date is. I'm still living in August.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Okay, well it's October third. It's all you need to know.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Its October third.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Also for the uh full metal Alchemy alchemists people out
- 1:56Speaker 1: there as well, if you know so. Anyways, how's it going, Yeah,
- 2:01Speaker 1: it's October. Halloween is officially around the corner, or for
- 2:05Speaker 1: some of us, it's already here because October is Halloween.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And it was a super awesome because it was October
- 2:11Speaker 2: first that hocus Pocus two was released right, which I
- 2:13Speaker 2: thought was very good on their part of release date, really.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Good timing, so good. I don't know if you guys
- 2:20Speaker 1: watched it or not. We're not going to do any spoilers,
- 2:22Speaker 1: but we watched it.
- 2:23Speaker 2: We did. I want to watch it again to be honest.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Though we loved it. However, we do have some some
- 2:28Speaker 1: critiques on it. It's definitely not like hocus Pocus one.
- 2:31Speaker 1: The Sanderson sisters are just like hocus pokeson one.
- 2:34Speaker 2: They're awesome. They could do no wrong.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Right, they did absolutely amazing. Yeah, got right back into
- 2:39Speaker 1: the role, like like not even a minute passed.
- 2:41Speaker 2: But but then at the end, I was like, it's
- 2:42Speaker 2: they haven't even aged, but you're like, yes, they have.
- 2:45Speaker 1: So it's been thirty years.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I know, so obviously they have, but from my memory
- 2:49Speaker 2: they didn't, I guess. But I want to watch hocus
- 2:52Speaker 2: Pocus one and then two back to back. Yeah, I'd
- 2:54Speaker 2: really like to do that.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I think hocus Pocus two is kind of, at least
- 2:57Speaker 1: for me, it's like a one off. It's like I
- 2:59Speaker 1: saw it, I'm happy happened, and then I'm just going
- 3:01Speaker 1: to go back to living life with hocus Pocus one
- 3:03Speaker 1: for the rest of my life.
- 3:04Speaker 2: It's very rare that the second one is as good
- 3:08Speaker 2: as the first one.
- 3:09Speaker 1: That's true in my opinion, especially when you're dealing with
- 3:11Speaker 1: a cult classic focus.
- 3:13Speaker 2: They had. It was kind of almost like they had
- 3:15Speaker 2: something very hard on their hands. Oh God, I was like,
- 3:21Speaker 2: I can't stop at this point.
- 3:24Speaker 1: But yeah, hocus Pocus it's going with low expectations. Just
- 3:27Speaker 1: go in and enjoy the Sanderson sisters and you'll probably
- 3:30Speaker 1: love it. If you go in looking for trouble, you'll
- 3:32Speaker 1: probably find it.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah. But No, it's definitely worth the watch. It was good.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I enjoyed it.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Also, before we get into our patrons, we want
- 3:39Speaker 1: to remind you guys to make sure you send us
- 3:41Speaker 1: some listener tales because coming up on Halloween, we have
- 3:44Speaker 1: Halloween Week. We got a lot coming out that week,
- 3:46Speaker 1: and one of the episodes that we're dropping as a
- 3:48Speaker 1: little extra episode, just so you know, it's not one
- 3:52Speaker 1: of the seven. It's an extra episode on top of
- 3:54Speaker 1: the see, on top of.
- 3:55Speaker 2: A week of episodes, there's an extra exactly so that
- 3:59Speaker 2: listening tales where you just tell us some spooky shit
- 4:01Speaker 2: that you've endured in your life.
- 4:03Speaker 1: So send us an email over at Wicked and Grim

- 4:42Speaker 1: YouTube videos out from the past. They're not the greatest, but.

- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you did a really good job on that one too.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I did that one. It's it's a it's an
- 6:12Speaker 2: awful case, but like, yeah, it's a really good listen.

- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah, so check it out.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I forgot to post it on the stories actually that
- 6:25Speaker 2: I put that one out fair.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Enough or just chill with us here. Either way, we
- 6:28Speaker 1: appreciate you. So with all that out of the way,
- 6:31Speaker 1: should we get into this.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I'm ready, Yeah, I was pretty pumped actually, because I
- 6:35Speaker 2: was like, oh my gosh, no one gets hurt in
- 6:36Speaker 2: this episode, Like I'm pumped. But dude, but then you
- 6:39Speaker 2: just looked at me weirdly. So now I'm unsure.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But maybe I looked at you weirdly. Just three for
- 6:45Speaker 1: a loop or maybe which could be maybe someone does.
- 6:49Speaker 1: You can have to listen to find out. Okay, but
- 6:51Speaker 1: to start off, we're going to take ourselves all the
- 6:52Speaker 1: way back to Florida in two thousand and eight.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Oh, is this a Florida case?
- 6:57Speaker 1: Hey, it's a Florida case. Florida man does something odd
- 7:01Speaker 1: and weird. You know, have you ever like googled that
- 7:04Speaker 1: on Google? Of course it's on Google. You're supposed to
- 7:08Speaker 1: go Florida man and then type in your birthday and
- 7:11Speaker 1: it's like, see what weird article comes up with Florida
- 7:13Speaker 1: man on your birthday?
- 7:14Speaker 2: Okay, is it your birthday? I thought for some reason
- 7:16Speaker 2: your name was in there too, but it's your birth man.
- 7:18Speaker 1: He could do it with your name. I don't know.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I have heard of that though, Yeah, I've never done it.
- 7:22Speaker 1: It's kind of entertaining, but yeah, this has taken us
- 7:25Speaker 1: all the way back to Florida in two thousand and eight.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Now we're starting off with a thirty eight year old
- 7:30Speaker 1: man by the name of Michael Dippolito who was an
- 7:34Speaker 1: ex convict I should say, Okay, he was on a
- 7:37Speaker 1: twenty eight year long probation for some stock fraud.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yes, he was convicted in two thousand and one and
- 7:45Speaker 1: served seven months in prison. Now, though Michael was an entrepreneur,
- 7:49Speaker 1: though I couldn't actually find what sort of business he
- 7:51Speaker 1: was into. Mind you, I didn't dig too deep into
- 7:54Speaker 1: that one. It's kind of irrelevant information. But either way,
- 7:57Speaker 1: he was making good money and doing pretty well for himself. Okay,
- 8:01Speaker 1: So this particular day, Michael was enjoying his evening of
- 8:05Speaker 1: bachelorhood as his wife was out of town for the weekend. Now,
- 8:09Speaker 1: Michael decided a good way to spend his loane time
- 8:12Speaker 1: was to hire a sex worker.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Okay, that took a turn.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Yeah, So thirty five minutes after placing a call, twenty
- 8:20Speaker 1: six year old Dahlia Mohammad would show up to his door.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So not the greatest decision making, that's for sure.
- 8:28Speaker 2: But no, well, like that's just like the fear I
- 8:31Speaker 2: feel like of every white every marriage. Yeah, not even
- 8:35Speaker 2: just wive's husbands and all the jazz too, Like, jeez,
- 8:38Speaker 2: that's that's awful. Faith, I'm disgusted by him already.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Oh, that's definitely not a cool thing. So Dahlia she
- 8:48Speaker 1: was born in New York City on October eighteenth and
- 8:51Speaker 1: nineteen eighty two. Her and her siblings were raised by
- 8:53Speaker 1: their Egyptian father and their Peruvian mother. Now Dahlia and
- 8:57Speaker 1: her family would move to New York and find their
- 8:59Speaker 1: new heart. Moved from New York and find the new
- 9:02Speaker 1: home in Boynton Beach, Florida, which is where Michael lived,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and she moved there when she was thirteen years old. Now,
- 9:09Speaker 1: like many of us, Dahlia was, you know, trying to
- 9:13Speaker 1: find a career path and you know, that whole idea
- 9:15Speaker 1: was a little bit difficult for her as she was
- 9:17Speaker 1: growing up. So eventually she did decide that she was
- 9:20Speaker 1: going to go for her real estate license and in
- 9:22Speaker 1: the meantime, she began working with an escort agency as
- 9:25Speaker 1: a sex worker. Now it was through that work that
- 9:30Speaker 1: she would meet the aforementioned Michael Dippolito. She would of
- 9:34Speaker 1: course knock on his door and here they are. The
- 9:37Speaker 1: two shared the evening of purchased Bliss, and with that,
- 9:41Speaker 1: Michael fell head over heels for Dahlia.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Oh really, heyah, in one night like that.
- 9:46Speaker 1: In one night. Now, the new woman in his life
- 9:49Speaker 1: was exciting and he couldn't wait to begin a new
- 9:52Speaker 1: life with her, so he quickly filed for divorce only
- 9:55Speaker 1: two weeks later. Wow, he filed for divorce of his
- 9:59Speaker 1: wife seven years and then proposed to Dahlia with a
- 10:02Speaker 1: twenty thousand dollars engagement ring.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Holy heck, kay, what she is into him?
- 10:08Speaker 1: We'll get into that.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Okay, I'm jumping ahead. I'm jumping ahead here.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Definitely jumping ahead. So this is quite the big commitment
- 10:14Speaker 1: for right. He's he's taken a huge leap.
- 10:17Speaker 2: That's a lot to just decide in pretty short span there.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, when we're talking about Dahlia here, whether it
- 10:24Speaker 1: was love at first sight that they shared, or maybe
- 10:27Speaker 1: it was the dollar figure attached to Michael for example,
- 10:30Speaker 1: the ring. Either way, Dahlia says yes. And it was
- 10:35Speaker 1: only five days after Michael's divorce was finalized that he
- 10:39Speaker 1: and Dahlia would get married on February second in two
- 10:42Speaker 1: thousand and nine.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Holy shit. Okay, Like I kind of almost feel bad
- 10:47Speaker 2: for the wife.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Oh so do I don't get me wrong there, like
- 10:50Speaker 1: things escalated quickly. She was thrown to the side. She
- 10:53Speaker 1: was like old newspaper from like yeah, puppy going to.
- 10:55Speaker 2: The bathroom on Like I was like, that's a fear,
- 10:58Speaker 2: just like that you're supposed kind of cheats on you
- 11:00Speaker 2: when you're gone, But then this is like next level.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And question did the twenty thousand dollars ring,
- 11:07Speaker 2: Like is that kind of within his means? Does he
- 11:10Speaker 2: have that kind of money. I'm always on a stretch.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I'm not one hundred percent certain how in his means
- 11:15Speaker 1: it is. However, I do know that throughout this case
- 11:19Speaker 1: they are spending more money, and he seemed to be
- 11:22Speaker 1: comfortable with it. Okay, So I'm sure he went into
- 11:25Speaker 1: debt with some of this stuff, but I don't think
- 11:27Speaker 1: it was like super extravagant for him, Like it's a
- 11:31Speaker 1: whole year's wage worth by any means, you know.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Okay, So.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm not too sure on his his financial situation,
- 11:39Speaker 1: but he had he was comfortable.
- 11:40Speaker 2: That's what I mean, no matter even credit or whatever,
- 11:43Speaker 2: like he I used to still be able to afford that.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yeah. So he was able to afford it and was
- 11:48Speaker 1: still comfortable.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 1: So, I mean he had this new, exciting relationship with
- 11:54Speaker 1: this woman that he fell over head over heels for.
- 11:56Speaker 1: He was comfortable with his monetary situation. He was living
- 11:59Speaker 1: a good life. However, things in Michael's life would begin
- 12:03Speaker 1: to slowly take a turn, and it started on March
- 12:06Speaker 1: twelfth of two thousand and nine, just one month after
- 12:08Speaker 1: getting married to Dahlia. It was early in the morning
- 12:12Speaker 1: and there was a knock at the front door. Now
- 12:15Speaker 1: Michael opened the door to find his parole officer and
- 12:18Speaker 1: two police standing there with them. Now, this was rather unusual.
- 12:21Speaker 1: He had visits from his parole officer before, you know,
- 12:24Speaker 1: other times and everything, but they were usually scheduled. This
- 12:28Speaker 1: was the first surprise visit that he ever had, especially
- 12:32Speaker 1: escorted by police. That was also new.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it's like he's in trouble.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's exactly what it was. They informed him
- 12:38Speaker 1: that there were multiple anonymous tips that he had been
- 12:42Speaker 1: allegedly selling drugs such as ecstasy and illegal steroids from
- 12:46Speaker 1: his home. Now Michael was in absolute disbelief. He'd kept
- 12:50Speaker 1: himself clean. He was steering far away from all this
- 12:53Speaker 1: sort of stuff since he was on parole, but he
- 12:56Speaker 1: couldn't do much. The parole officer and police had a
- 13:00Speaker 1: warrant in hand, so he stepped aside. They entered his
- 13:03Speaker 1: home and they began to search, but they came up
- 13:06Speaker 1: empty handed.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Oh okay, so someone is setting him up.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Well, we'll see his wife.
- 13:13Speaker 2: That's my guess. That's your guest, his ex wife. I
- 13:15Speaker 2: guess I should coracked myself.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Well, luckily for him as it would have. Like, you know,
- 13:21Speaker 1: he didn't have anything in there. No one had set
- 13:23Speaker 1: him up or put anything in there. Nothing was found
- 13:26Speaker 1: because if something was found, that would have certainly meant
- 13:29Speaker 1: jail time. He would have been going back the next day.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Dahlia suggested that they should take a nice getaway trip
- 13:34Speaker 1: to Palm Beach. It was exactly what Michael needed. You know,
- 13:37Speaker 1: he was stressed out. He was watching his back wherever
- 13:39Speaker 1: he went, wondering who made these calls to the authorities.
- 13:42Speaker 1: A relaxing, romantic trip with his wife could be the
- 13:46Speaker 1: exact thing he needed to ease his mind. So he
- 13:49Speaker 1: took her suggestion and they went off. So the two
- 13:53Speaker 1: booked off a weekend get away in a nice, fancy
- 13:56Speaker 1: resort hotel. See again, he's spending more money and I
- 13:59Speaker 1: think it's comfort. But then, because it was the weekend,
- 14:03Speaker 1: Sunday morning came around the next day and as they
- 14:06Speaker 1: were leaving, police were there to greet them in the
- 14:08Speaker 1: parking lot of the resort. At the vehicle, they received
- 14:12Speaker 1: another anonymous call that he was dealing drugs from his car.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Again warrant in hand, they searched but found nothing.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Okay, but this is such a waste of resources too.
- 14:24Speaker 2: But I can understand if I feel like I know
- 14:27Speaker 2: who it is, the wife or the wife's family, I'd
- 14:30Speaker 2: be freaking pissed too.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Yeah. So well, two weeks after that, when the two
- 14:37Speaker 1: were out for a fancy dinner at a restaurant, police
- 14:40Speaker 1: were again waiting for them at their car as they
- 14:42Speaker 1: were leaving the restaurant, again ready to search his property.
- 14:47Speaker 1: This time, however, police did come up with something. They
- 14:51Speaker 1: weren't empty antids. They found inside a cigarette package a
- 14:55Speaker 1: small bag of cocaine, rolled up and tucked into a
- 14:58Speaker 1: spot where one of the cigarettes would have been was
- 15:00Speaker 1: since removed. Michael was frantic, like absolutely frantic. He collapsed
- 15:05Speaker 1: in like fucking tears. He told police it wasn't his.
- 15:07Speaker 1: He was being set up. Somebody placed it there. He
- 15:10Speaker 1: had no idea what was going on. It seemed to
- 15:13Speaker 1: be odd to police too, as they listened to Michael, Now,
- 15:16Speaker 1: this is a very weird place to tuck away a
- 15:18Speaker 1: small amount cocaine. Maybe someone did plant it. Maybe Michael
- 15:23Speaker 1: actually knew nothing of it. As they were considering this,
- 15:26Speaker 1: police took note that his wife, Dahlia, seemed almost emotionless
- 15:31Speaker 1: as her husband was breaking down in literal tears.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Oh okay, my gears are changing here. Okay wow.
- 15:43Speaker 1: So police decided they believed Michael and did not make
- 15:46Speaker 1: an arrest. They finished the search and left. Police weren't
- 15:52Speaker 1: the only ones who had suspicions of Dahlia though.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Huh, I'm in shock right now.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Why are you in shock?
- 15:58Speaker 2: Well, because I don't know. I mean, we know a
- 16:00Speaker 2: teeny bit about this story. But it's I always thought
- 16:05Speaker 2: it was going to be the ex wife here, he thought.
- 16:07Speaker 2: But now I'm changing my tune.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Potentially, Well, who do you think it is?
- 16:12Speaker 2: Well, maybe it's this new wife now, which is mind
- 16:15Speaker 2: blowing to me. And then yeah, she's obviously just using
- 16:19Speaker 2: him for his money, you think so? God, this guy
- 16:22Speaker 2: has made some shit life choices, like some real poor
- 16:26Speaker 2: life choices here.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I can't argue that fair enough. But like I said,
- 16:31Speaker 1: the police were the only ones who began to realize this.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Michael also began to put the puzzle pieces together. Now,
- 16:39Speaker 1: they didn't tell anyone that they were going out for
- 16:41Speaker 1: dinner or exactly where, So how did the police know
- 16:45Speaker 1: where to find and search the vehicle? And if he
- 16:49Speaker 1: didn't put the cocaine there, the only other person with
- 16:52Speaker 1: access to the vehicle would have been Dahlia Jeez. So
- 16:58Speaker 1: on the drive home, he asked her if she had
- 17:00Speaker 1: anything to do with it, and that's when she got
- 17:03Speaker 1: like big Matt. She was driving the car home and
- 17:07Speaker 1: she slammed down the gas pedal, driving on the freeway,
- 17:11Speaker 1: extremely reckless and reaching speeds reportedly up to one hundred
- 17:16Speaker 1: and ninety I believe miles per oly.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yes, that's terrifying.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Yes, she screamed at him and was like, how could
- 17:28Speaker 1: you even begin to think such things that I did this,
- 17:30Speaker 1: and blah like all that sort of stuff. Right, So,
- 17:33Speaker 1: ridden with absolute fear, Michael calmed her down as best
- 17:37Speaker 1: as he could, and he told her that he believed
- 17:39Speaker 1: her and he's sorry, he even like brought it up.
- 17:41Speaker 1: That's like horrible of him sort of thing. He did
- 17:43Speaker 1: whatever he could calm her down and get the situation
- 17:45Speaker 1: back under control. So the next morning, tensions were running high.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Dahlia was making breakfast. She made breakfast for her husband Michael.
- 17:55Speaker 1: They ate, and afterwards she broke some news to him
- 17:59Speaker 1: she was pregnant.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Okay, that was quite okay. Well, I'm just like curious
- 18:09Speaker 2: of where this is going. Sorry, I'm like actually very
- 18:12Speaker 2: actively listening. Yeah. Should I be more shocked than she's prego?
- 18:18Speaker 1: Oh?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Should I be like, oh my god, that's so exciting.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Well, I'm I'm gonna let you in on a little
- 18:24Speaker 1: secret here. Yes, Dahlia is lying.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Because she knows she's getting caught in her act.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Yep, She's not pregnant, and she is in fact the
- 18:32Speaker 1: one calling the police. She is the one being anonymous
- 18:35Speaker 1: reporting these things. Now, I just want to point this out, Like,
- 18:38Speaker 1: why am I coming clean and telling you guys this
- 18:40Speaker 1: here now when we're like partially way through the story.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Well the reason is because by this time her lies
- 18:46Speaker 1: were beginning to get uncovered anyways, so we are literally
- 18:50Speaker 1: just following how this story actually developed so.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And then they're getting uncovered by Michael and the police.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Basically correct, they're not quite getting uncovered just yet, but
- 19:01Speaker 1: here in a moment, they're getting uncovered.
- 19:03Speaker 2: So well, he's very much so realizing that she's probably
- 19:09Speaker 2: I don't know, I was going to say, I'll to
- 19:11Speaker 2: say nuts.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Well, little nuts, it's pretty obvious she's our douche canoe
- 19:15Speaker 1: of the day at this point.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I was going to say, I was going to say
- 19:18Speaker 2: some things that I just settled on nuts. But yeah,
- 19:20Speaker 2: she's like, he really has made very poor life decisions.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, Dalia told Michael she was pregnant. Why why
- 19:27Speaker 1: did she lie to him? Because she knew he was
- 19:30Speaker 1: catching on to the fact that she was one calling police,
- 19:32Speaker 1: she was one reporting these things. She planted the cocaine there,
- 19:37Speaker 1: So she told him this to distract him from the
- 19:39Speaker 1: reality of the situation around him.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Well, and she would, I mean, his whole actions would change, right,
- 19:46Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, so excited and like I need to
- 19:48Speaker 2: protect my wife and my child, and one.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Hundred percent with the thought of a child on the way,
- 19:53Speaker 1: you know, becoming a dad, you know, having the new
- 19:54Speaker 1: wife who's now pregnant.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Was he would that have been like his if she
- 20:00Speaker 2: was actually pregnant, would that have been his first kid?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Yes?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Did he do?
- 20:03Speaker 1: I believe so. I've never found any reports of any
- 20:05Speaker 1: other kids. Okay, so so yeah, with this whole child
- 20:10Speaker 1: bearing thing in mind, everything else just kind of began
- 20:13Speaker 1: to fade off. And that's what Dally was hoping for.
- 20:17Speaker 1: That's exactly what happened. So this same day, the two
- 20:21Speaker 1: began planning their future as parents. They went shopping and
- 20:24Speaker 1: they bought some baby books. However, Dahlia wasn't exactly having
- 20:29Speaker 1: baby on the mind, clearly because she's not actually even pregnant.
- 20:32Speaker 1: So while they're out shopping, she was thinking about something else.
- 20:36Speaker 1: She was beginning to text an old boyfriend of hers, Mike.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So just clarification, Mike is the old boyfriend, Michael is
- 20:43Speaker 1: the new husband.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Not confusing at all, Right.
- 20:45Speaker 1: That's why I've been saying Michael this whole time, not
- 20:47Speaker 1: abbreviating to Mike.
- 20:48Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 20:50Speaker 1: So while they were out shopping for these books, one
- 20:52Speaker 1: of the texts she sent her old boyfriend Mike said,
- 20:56Speaker 1: and I quote Bibe, I miss you so much. I
- 21:00Speaker 1: want to fuck call me xo xo.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Whoa, whoa whoa, Yes, okay, so quite aggressive to say
- 21:08Speaker 2: to me while she's a married woman.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Yeah, this was her way of reeling him into her plan,
- 21:15Speaker 1: you know, and he took the bait. So they had
- 21:20Speaker 1: a because I said it earlier, a night of bliss together,
- 21:24Speaker 1: and Dahlia convinced Mike to pose as a probation lawyer,
- 21:28Speaker 1: calling Michael with some legal advice. Now the advice was
- 21:32Speaker 1: regarding how to get off his twenty eight year long probation.
- 21:36Speaker 1: He told him that his house as an asset was
- 21:39Speaker 1: an issue and needed to be transferred ownership over to
- 21:42Speaker 1: his wife in case he did get arrested.
- 21:46Speaker 2: No.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yes, so if he got arrested, then it would be
- 21:51Speaker 1: in Dahlia's names. When he's in prison, there will be no.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Issues, right, good lord, This lady is very what's the
- 21:58Speaker 2: word like, deceiving, manipulated, manipulative? Yeah, yeah, there's a lot there, brutal.
- 22:03Speaker 1: And Michael was still shaking up from the cocaine incident.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I mean this was only a day or two after
- 22:08Speaker 1: that incident happened, remember, so this is still very fresh.
- 22:13Speaker 1: He was afraid some of those charges regarding it would
- 22:15Speaker 1: actually stick and he might be sent back to jail.
- 22:18Speaker 1: So he followed the Bogues advice. He didn't do any
- 22:21Speaker 1: research on his own. He just trusted this random guy
- 22:24Speaker 1: who claimed to be a lawyer knew this information, and
- 22:28Speaker 1: he followed his recommendation. Him and Dalia drove down and
- 22:31Speaker 1: transferred ownership over to her.
- 22:33Speaker 2: This is so shitty because he seems like he is
- 22:38Speaker 2: getting he got his life back together right at some
- 22:41Speaker 2: point yea, from making some poor choices or whatever, and
- 22:44Speaker 2: she's just completely ruining his fucking life.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Oh and she's taking advantage of every little thing she can. Wow,
- 22:52Speaker 1: I feel like I should have been like every little thing.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's actually how it went through my head. Huh.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So, like you say, Manipu relative Conniving a douche canoe,
- 23:03Speaker 1: she's a biach. Let's say it. I'm sorry she is.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Well yeah and like, but the interesting thing is that
- 23:08Speaker 2: he's just going with.
- 23:10Speaker 1: That well because he's head over heels for this woman.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And now not only is this his new wife, this
- 23:16Speaker 1: is the mother of his child as far as he knows.
- 23:19Speaker 2: True, right, I thought about the baby already.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Okay, So anyways, with this now the house being fully
- 23:27Speaker 1: in Dahlia's name, it meant Michael was fully disposable. So
- 23:34Speaker 1: Dahlia dropped the ex mic. She was done with him,
- 23:38Speaker 1: and she reached out to another one of her exes,
- 23:40Speaker 1: Mohammed Shihade. Now she wanted mahabbed to hire a hitman
- 23:45Speaker 1: to kill her husband.
- 23:48Speaker 2: This is like a soap opera and a half. I
- 23:50Speaker 2: feel like I'm literally like in The Young and Restless
- 23:52Speaker 2: right now.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Oh girl, you have no idea. It gets way worse.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Trust me. This is who. So with this information, with
- 24:01Speaker 1: this conversation with Dahlia, what did Mohammad do? He went
- 24:05Speaker 1: straight to police and informed them exactly of her intentions.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Okay, I was not expecting it to go that way,
- 24:11Speaker 2: and I freaking love him.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Yeah. He was like, Yo, this bitch want to do
- 24:16Speaker 1: some shit.
- 24:17Speaker 2: This is amazing.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yeah, so shadow him, Shadow to Mohammed here, no kidding, now,
- 24:23Speaker 1: quickly police. Well, and I shouldn't say quickly because at
- 24:25Speaker 1: first they weren't. They were really like unsure of this guy.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And if I see telling the truth, it sounds pretty
- 24:31Speaker 1: far fetched, right, But Mohammad and the police began to
- 24:35Speaker 1: work together and they put a plan into action. He
- 24:38Speaker 1: would act as though he got a hit man and
- 24:42Speaker 1: that he would get her to contact the hit man
- 24:44Speaker 1: and they set up a whole meeting together. So the
- 24:47Speaker 1: hit man, though, was not a hit man, It was
- 24:51Speaker 1: in fact an undercover police officer. Yes, And the car
- 24:54Speaker 1: they met in was full of cameras and audio equipment.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It just so happened the show cops was working with
- 25:04Speaker 1: the police department that week, and they agreed to rig
- 25:07Speaker 1: up the car with their equipment and record all of
- 25:09Speaker 1: it with their hidden camera.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Nice say, that's gold.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Right, Like, what are the fucking odds?
- 25:15Speaker 2: I also have to say, though, thank goodness that the
- 25:17Speaker 2: police took this kind of seriously here, Oh, this could
- 25:21Speaker 2: have gone a totally different way.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Well, and I think the police were like, you know what,
- 25:25Speaker 1: hey cops, you know, if this turns out to be
- 25:27Speaker 1: a bust, you got a show or something, right like,
- 25:29Speaker 1: it could have been a beneficial thing. A we get
- 25:32Speaker 1: to actually check out and see if this is real.
- 25:34Speaker 1: B If it's not real, at least it's not taxpayer
- 25:37Speaker 1: dollars to waste. There's probably some exchange going on, right right,
- 25:41Speaker 1: So that's my guest there Now I lost my spot, okay, right,
- 25:45Speaker 1: So in the meeting, they met in the car in
- 25:47Speaker 1: this parking lot, Dahlia would pay a three thousand dollars
- 25:50Speaker 1: deposit out of a total of seven thousand dollars for
- 25:55Speaker 1: of course the hit and her husband, not very much money,
- 25:58Speaker 1: mind you. This is two and too still but still. Yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 1: So she gave a photo of Michael to the supposed
- 26:06Speaker 1: hit man and a photo of the house as well.
- 26:08Speaker 1: She made it abundantly clear that yes, she wanted this done,
- 26:13Speaker 1: and there was no way that she's turning back. She
- 26:16Speaker 1: has made up her mind. This is happening.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Meanwhile, everything is being recorded exactly. Oh so it's a best.
- 26:26Speaker 1: It's she's fucked, let's put that way. Yeah. So they
- 26:30Speaker 1: actually meant two times, and then the second meeting, the
- 26:34Speaker 1: two plans. The whole thing, the whole idea was laid
- 26:37Speaker 1: out from beginning to end. The plan was at about
- 26:41Speaker 1: six thirty to seven am next Wednesday morning, Michael would
- 26:45Speaker 1: be taking the dogs for walk as he usually does,
- 26:47Speaker 1: and he always leaves the door and locked. So she's
- 26:50Speaker 1: going to leave for the gym at about six am
- 26:53Speaker 1: and return home to you know, find her husband killed,
- 26:56Speaker 1: so that gives her an alibi for being out of
- 26:58Speaker 1: the house while this all.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Hers Oh my gosh.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Now the hit man is going to make this look
- 27:04Speaker 1: like a robbery gone bad and no one will be
- 27:07Speaker 1: the wiser. Of course, this hit man again, undercover police officer.
- 27:12Speaker 1: This is all the setup. So August fifth, two thousand
- 27:15Speaker 1: and nine, the plan was all set in motion, and
- 27:17Speaker 1: the police let the plan play out. Dahlia left to
- 27:21Speaker 1: go for the gym, and when she did, police pulled
- 27:24Speaker 1: up to the house and began knocking on the door.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Michael opened up, of course, with a face full of
- 27:29Speaker 1: police officers and yeah, right at his front door.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Probably being scared they're going to like arrest him or something.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he probably panicked initially, like what the fuck, But
- 27:38Speaker 1: they informed him of all of Dahlia's plans. Wow, the
- 27:41Speaker 1: whole thing, the undercover officer, the footage, the audio, everything
- 27:47Speaker 1: could you imagine. So he was taken quickly by the
- 27:52Speaker 1: police back to the police station. They didn't have much time.
- 27:54Speaker 1: They got to get all this set up in the meantime,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and while he was being taken back, the whole fake
- 28:00Speaker 1: crime scene around the couple's house was being set up
- 28:03Speaker 1: by authorities. They had cop cars with flashing lights, police
- 28:07Speaker 1: tape strung up around the yard, news cameras, you name it.
- 28:12Speaker 1: The nice thing these news cameras we're filming and we're
- 28:16Speaker 1: catching all these reactions and everything.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Okay, it's almost amazing that they went through all of
- 28:21Speaker 2: these steps though, because technically they could have just not
- 28:24Speaker 2: really played out the whole scene though, right, it's like
- 28:26Speaker 2: they were, but I mean, this cop show and stuff
- 28:29Speaker 2: was in on this, and like, well.
- 28:30Speaker 1: At this point, the cop show isn't in on it
- 28:32Speaker 1: anymore because it's not a cop show. This is an
- 28:34Speaker 1: actual investation.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean, I guess they're just really making
- 28:38Speaker 2: sure they're like getting her.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yes, So what it was was the show cops lent
- 28:43Speaker 1: them the equipment, okay, yes, and then.
- 28:46Speaker 2: They and now they realize this is legit shit and
- 28:48Speaker 2: they get her.
- 28:48Speaker 1: So this is no longer. This is no longer a
- 28:50Speaker 1: TV show. This is footage for an investigation. This is evidence,
- 28:54Speaker 1: not a TV show. You just lentus equipment, that's it.
- 28:57Speaker 2: But it's still exactly like a soap opera.
- 28:59Speaker 1: It's worse pretty much. But after all that footage, after
- 29:03Speaker 1: the meetings, they had enough evidence. The reason why they
- 29:06Speaker 1: continued to let this play out is they wanted to
- 29:08Speaker 1: ensure that they had as much as they possibly could
- 29:13Speaker 1: to convict her.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Is there shit that we get to watch? I want
- 29:17Speaker 2: to see this stuff.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I mean, this is an audio podcast. You can't watch.
- 29:22Speaker 2: There gonna be links like okay, sorry.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Oh, there's definitely some stuff in the description below. Don't
- 29:26Speaker 1: worry about that. Amazing now I completely lost my spot.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Where was I right? So they had all the all
- 29:33Speaker 1: the whole setup going right, So once they were done,
- 29:37Speaker 1: all they really need to do now was called Dahlia
- 29:40Speaker 1: and tell her she needed to come home. So after
- 29:43Speaker 1: she got a call from the police, she rushed home
- 29:45Speaker 1: and exited her car as she pretended not to know
- 29:48Speaker 1: what was going on there, she was greeted by Sergeant
- 29:52Speaker 1: Frank Ramzi, who approached her and told her the tragedy
- 29:56Speaker 1: that occurred while she was at the gym. Her husband,
- 30:00Speaker 1: Mike Dippolito, had been shot and murdered. Good God, Dahlia
- 30:07Speaker 1: instantly and if you ask me, if you watch the footage,
- 30:10Speaker 1: preemptively broke down and started crying in a panic just
- 30:15Speaker 1: before he even actually said it. She she was a
- 30:18Speaker 1: little early on it if you really watch, and she
- 30:21Speaker 1: played up the role of the whole damsel in distress.
- 30:23Speaker 1: She was literally shaking and vibrating like I'm sorry, I
- 30:28Speaker 1: don't want to admit it, but that was one hell
- 30:30Speaker 1: of a fucking performance.
- 30:31Speaker 2: So it's almost like she practiced for this or something.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Like she's done this sort of shit to manipulate people before.
- 30:38Speaker 2: And sorry that I always jump on ahead. That's the
- 30:40Speaker 2: scene that I want to watch.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Yes, So, like I said, all while, there are very
- 30:46Speaker 1: real cameras rolling, and it is a scene that you
- 30:49Speaker 1: want to watch, And there is an audio clip I
- 30:51Speaker 1: am going to play for you so you can hear
- 30:53Speaker 1: that discussion between Dahlia and the cop play out.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, here it.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Goes Osaga Ramsey, I'm the one that called you.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Thank you for coming. I'm sorry to call you. Listen.
- 31:03Speaker 1: We had a report of a disturbance at your house
- 31:05Speaker 1: and there were shots fired as your husband Michael. Okay,
- 31:09Speaker 1: I'm sorry to tell you man, he's been killed. He's
- 31:12Speaker 1: been killed. Try to find out listen right now, we
- 31:20Speaker 1: need to We need to. I can't look man, We
- 31:25Speaker 1: have to do our job. You want to find a filler, Okay,
- 31:29Speaker 1: we need you to come down. I need you to
- 31:31Speaker 1: go with theives. Okay, because you have enemies.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Is there anyone who would want to hurt him?
- 31:37Speaker 1: Okay, who we want to hurt him? Waitness he said
- 31:39Speaker 1: he saw a blackmail running from you. I can't let
- 31:41Speaker 1: you see him. Man, ma'am, I cannot do.
- 31:43Speaker 2: This right now. I need you. I need you to
- 31:48Speaker 2: take them to the station.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I can't go with these detectives. If you want to
- 31:52Speaker 1: help your husband, Okay, if you want to help your husband,
- 31:55Speaker 1: you need to go to the station with these gentlemen
- 31:57Speaker 1: and tell us everything you know about who he knows,
- 31:59Speaker 1: who the boy. We weren't taking care of dogs right now.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Everything's on the control. I won't take care of everything else. Okay,
- 32:09Speaker 1: thank you guys. So there's one thing I really want
- 32:12Speaker 1: to point out in that audio. Did you notice how
- 32:17Speaker 1: in amongst all of that crying she happened to point
- 32:20Speaker 1: out to the police my husband's on parole.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Oh I didn't even hear that.
- 32:25Speaker 1: She says that a grieving wife pointed out to the
- 32:30Speaker 1: police my husband's on parole.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Well, honestly, I thought that the best acting job there
- 32:37Speaker 2: was the police officer. Oh yeah, that was not how
- 32:42Speaker 2: I don't I just don't think that's how that would
- 32:44Speaker 2: have played out, Because, like I think, after you're you
- 32:47Speaker 2: if it was legit, you're told something like that. I
- 32:50Speaker 2: think norm she should have practiced more. Really, you would
- 32:54Speaker 2: have been shocked, like I don't think you would have
- 32:56Speaker 2: hardly said shit, because you had just been like crying,
- 33:00Speaker 2: probably start crying. But I don't think that you would
- 33:02Speaker 2: have words almost right away, like processing this so slowly
- 33:05Speaker 2: in your brain exactly.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And that's exactly why I'm so focused on that my
- 33:09Speaker 1: husband's on parole. She's already thinking about pointing the finger
- 33:14Speaker 1: on who could have done this, pointing out that my
- 33:17Speaker 1: husband's on parole. There's probably someone who's after him. And
- 33:20Speaker 1: it wasn't me, it was somebody else.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Okay, I see what she's doing there.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Then, right already in the moment when she's supposedly a
- 33:29Speaker 1: grieving wife like you just said, she probably shouldn't even
- 33:31Speaker 1: be able to get words out. Yeah, but she manages
- 33:33Speaker 1: to tip the police off.
- 33:35Speaker 2: The only legit one that I thought was that her
- 33:38Speaker 2: concerned about the dogs, because I would have not concerned too.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Yeah, fair enough. So after that audio, she was taking
- 33:45Speaker 1: to the police station and as far as she was aware,
- 33:48Speaker 1: for routine questioning. As we all know, the spouser you know,
- 33:51Speaker 1: significant other and is the usual suspect number one, right,
- 33:54Speaker 1: So it's just protocol. She's like, you know, maybe I
- 33:58Speaker 1: can help the police or whatever situation, although we know
- 34:01Speaker 1: she's just gonna be throwing them off. And I'm sure
- 34:04Speaker 1: in her head, you know, she was all like, I'm
- 34:05Speaker 1: going to be in out of the station quickly. My
- 34:07Speaker 1: life's gonna be great. I've got a new house in
- 34:09Speaker 1: my name, all money.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Really, what was actually going on was she was being
- 34:15Speaker 1: detained and arrested before she even knew it. If she wow,
- 34:19Speaker 1: if she was going to be leaving that station immediately,
- 34:21Speaker 1: cuffs to be slapping on her wrists.
- 34:24Speaker 2: And here she's just like thinking she's living her best
- 34:27Speaker 2: fucking life.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Yeah, like it was just easy, breezy, beautiful cup girl.
- 34:31Speaker 1: So so it started with condolences and comfort comforting from
- 34:36Speaker 1: officers in the interrogation room. Okay, she sobbed and she
- 34:40Speaker 1: told them, quote, I love my husband. I want to
- 34:43Speaker 1: see him. They won't let me see him. Now, police officers,
- 34:48Speaker 1: you know understand this is a charade. And I'm pretty
- 34:51Speaker 1: sure they were hardly able to stomach this ridiculous charade,
- 34:56Speaker 1: but they managed to, and they continued up their charade
- 34:58Speaker 1: as well. Questioning, Dahlia tells police all about her husband's
- 35:03Speaker 1: criminal history, how he was on probation. As far as
- 35:07Speaker 1: she can tell, there was many reasons why many people
- 35:10Speaker 1: would want him dead, pointing fingers in all other directions
- 35:14Speaker 1: to take any light off of herself. Eventually, though, police
- 35:19Speaker 1: decided to move on to things in a little bit
- 35:21Speaker 1: of a different direction. So far, they've been holding their
- 35:24Speaker 1: cards tight, and it was time to actually begin playing
- 35:26Speaker 1: their cards. Police decided to bring in the undercover police
- 35:31Speaker 1: officer who had played the role as the hitman. He
- 35:34Speaker 1: entered the interrogation room in handcuffs, still playing the role,
- 35:39Speaker 1: acting as though he had been caught, and police said
- 35:42Speaker 1: they got him fleeing the scene. Oh and they're like,
- 35:45Speaker 1: why were you in her house? Do you know her?
- 35:48Speaker 1: And he just kind of like blankly, he's looking down.
- 35:50Speaker 1: He denies knowing Dahlia, and of course Dahlia happily plays
- 35:54Speaker 1: long denies knowing him too.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Wow, Like, I can't believe it there able to just
- 36:00Speaker 2: do this, Like I feel like it aither be laughing
- 36:03Speaker 2: or like so disgusted that this is happening.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Oh, I guarant fucking t you anyone outside of that
- 36:10Speaker 1: interrogation room is shaking their head in disbelief and uncontrollably
- 36:14Speaker 1: laughing because this is.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Just so ridiculous, so awkward and uncomfortable. It's unbelievable.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Yeah, so questioning didn't actually last a whole lot longer
- 36:23Speaker 1: after that. Uh, the officer in undercover cuffs, if you
- 36:28Speaker 1: want to say, he had left the room shortly thereafter,
- 36:31Speaker 1: and police began to decide, you know, it's time to
- 36:34Speaker 1: play their whole hand. They told her right to her face,
- 36:38Speaker 1: you're going to jail for soliciting a first degree murder.
- 36:41Speaker 1: That's an undercover police officer.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Okay. What was her reaction to that?
- 36:48Speaker 1: She was just like, she wasn't sobbing or crying anymore.
- 36:50Speaker 1: She was just blank and she's just like, I didn't
- 36:52Speaker 1: do anything. She's like fuck pretty much. Yeah. You can
- 36:55Speaker 1: see her demeanor completely change of just like uh so, yeah,
- 36:59Speaker 1: she starts saying I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything,
- 37:02Speaker 1: And then they told her about the cameras and the
- 37:05Speaker 1: audio equipment, all the evidence the fake set up at
- 37:09Speaker 1: the house because they opened the door to play the
- 37:13Speaker 1: ace up their sleeve and in walks her husband, Michael
- 37:17Speaker 1: Dippolito alive as can be.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Wow, she'd probably looked like she saw a freaking ghost.
- 37:23Speaker 1: She was like because by this time, in between the
- 37:26Speaker 1: undercover officer coming in and Michael coming in a couple minutes,
- 37:29Speaker 1: but she got cuffed in that time officially when they're
- 37:32Speaker 1: like you're going to jail and shit. So she's now
- 37:34Speaker 1: cuffed with hands behind her back, and she's like, Michael,
- 37:37Speaker 1: come here, come here, please come here, like she's begging
- 37:39Speaker 1: to come to her, and he's like, uh no, like no,
- 37:42Speaker 1: like you can't fix this.
- 37:44Speaker 2: She's still trying to play this game.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Oh, she's one hundred percent trying to play it.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:49Speaker 1: And however, though neither the confrontation from her husband or
- 37:53Speaker 1: the undercover police officer or any evidence would bring a
- 37:58Speaker 1: confession out of her, she one hundred percent stood her ground.
- 38:02Speaker 1: No matter how bleak she maintained, or no how bleak
- 38:05Speaker 1: the situation.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Maintained, she still disclaimed her innocence.
- 38:08Speaker 1: She said she didn't do anything. They showed her the
- 38:11Speaker 1: footage of her in the car paying someone to kill
- 38:15Speaker 1: her husband.
- 38:16Speaker 2: I mean, props for taking it as far as you can.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I guess. Yeah, she's almost comical.
- 38:21Speaker 1: She stood her ground and it is very comical. It's
- 38:24Speaker 1: like it's like you, like, you say, watching a soap
- 38:28Speaker 1: opera or a fucking cartoon at this point, like how
- 38:30Speaker 1: the fuck?
- 38:31Speaker 2: Yeah? Like at some point though, you need to know, like, bitch,
- 38:36Speaker 2: you done, yeah, and like just probably admit to this.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, But she's not. She's just like, no, I didn't
- 38:42Speaker 1: do it.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 38:45Speaker 1: When she was shipped to jail, she used her phone
- 38:48Speaker 1: call to call none.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Other then who who do you think bbe?
- 38:53Speaker 1: No? Her husband Michael?
- 38:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, I wouldn't remember his name, but its
- 38:57Speaker 2: Mike the other guy. Oh seriously called.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Her husband, the one she tried to get murdered.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Wow, because she is literally no one else or she's
- 39:05Speaker 2: still playing this stupid.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Game she's trying. She's playing the game. She's trying to
- 39:08Speaker 1: convince him that she didn't do anything and that he
- 39:12Speaker 1: needed to come down to her and help her get
- 39:15Speaker 1: out of prison. She's trying to gaslight him in this
- 39:18Speaker 1: whole story, and he's like, how do you explain this footage? Then?
- 39:21Speaker 1: And she's like, come down to the jail and I'll
- 39:23Speaker 1: tell you. But I didn't do it. This is all said, up,
- 39:24Speaker 1: I didn't do it. I didn't do it. This is
- 39:26Speaker 1: an audio recorded conversation. You can listen to this conversation.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Wow.
- 39:31Speaker 1: So when this didn't work because he's like, I can't
- 39:34Speaker 1: do anything. I called your family for He's like, I can't,
- 39:36Speaker 1: I can't do anything. And props to him because he's
- 39:39Speaker 1: still talking to her like a human being, not a
- 39:42Speaker 1: fucking monster.
- 39:43Speaker 2: And even like calling her family for her.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Like wow, Like I would be I'm sorry, like hands clean,
- 39:49Speaker 1: Like I would see this number calling me, I'd be
- 39:51Speaker 1: like hello, and if I heard that voice, click.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Click, never to speak to them ever again.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Yeah, So props to him for that.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Well, I mean, she legit wanted him to die.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Yeah, she had no regard for his life.
- 40:04Speaker 2: In her mind. She was coming home from the gym
- 40:07Speaker 2: and he was gonna be.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Dead, yep, and she was okay with that. So when
- 40:12Speaker 1: this phone called a Michael didn't work and she wasn't
- 40:14Speaker 1: able to manipulate him any longer, she turned to her
- 40:17Speaker 1: mom and she called her mom and told her that
- 40:19Speaker 1: she wanted Mike out of her house and that he
- 40:23Speaker 1: is the one who did this to her, but.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Shit, it is her house. They're going to have to
- 40:28Speaker 2: change that. That got changed okay, thank goodness.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Now, twenty months later, after Dahlia being put in the
- 40:37Speaker 1: slammer for lack of better words, because my brain farted there,
- 40:41Speaker 1: brain farted. I had a brain fart.
- 40:42Speaker 2: There we go, your brain fart. Wow, you can.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Tell I had a brain fart there if I say that.
- 40:49Speaker 1: That was interesting. So twenty months later, Dahlia would actually
- 40:53Speaker 1: take the stand and be on trial in April of
- 40:56Speaker 1: twenty eleven. Now, when the evidence against her came up,
- 41:00Speaker 1: it was so incredible. Like I said, the video, the audio,
- 41:05Speaker 1: the police set up everything. She still maintained her innocence. Wow,
- 41:10Speaker 1: she was innocent as far as she knew, as far
- 41:13Speaker 1: as she said everything. She did not do this. It
- 41:15Speaker 1: was a setup. Now, it was something that her defense
- 41:18Speaker 1: would actually cling onto. The fact that she did not
- 41:22Speaker 1: crack and she maintained her innocence was key to her defense.
- 41:26Speaker 1: They spun a story of how Michael was a reality
- 41:29Speaker 1: TV nut and this was all a plan for him
- 41:33Speaker 1: to be able to get famous and on TV. In fact,
- 41:36Speaker 1: they even use the fact that the show cops helped
- 41:39Speaker 1: film the footage as means to help support their theory
- 41:43Speaker 1: or story or whatever you want to say.
- 41:45Speaker 2: That's some creative defense right there.
- 41:48Speaker 1: It's creative as a word I would not use. It's
- 41:51Speaker 1: a colorful defense. Maybe, I don't know. It's out there.
- 41:56Speaker 1: It's very Looney tunesque it is.
- 41:58Speaker 2: But I mean, like what other where are they gonna go?
- 42:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they painted her as the victim who went along
- 42:03Speaker 1: with her husband's plan in order to garnish fame on TV,
- 42:06Speaker 1: but when things turned sour, he bailed out or whatever
- 42:09Speaker 1: and left her to take all the blame. That's that
- 42:13Speaker 1: was the defense, Michael. I mean literally laughed at this
- 42:18Speaker 1: in trial.
- 42:18Speaker 2: That's not terrible, Like I'm actually shocked because I was
- 42:23Speaker 2: just I was thinking. But at this point she would
- 42:26Speaker 2: just be like yeah, like I mean she had twenty
- 42:28Speaker 2: months to just like accept her fate, like yeah I
- 42:30Speaker 2: am I did this, Like yeah, I fucked up. But
- 42:33Speaker 2: that no, like that's it just keeps going like this
- 42:36Speaker 2: just doesn't end, does it?
- 42:38Speaker 1: Yeah? It doesn't?
- 42:40Speaker 2: Is she still okay? No, sorry, I'll get that to
- 42:43Speaker 2: the end.
- 42:43Speaker 1: I know where you're going. We're getting there. The jury, however,
- 42:46Speaker 1: didn't buy this defense. On May thirteenth, twenty eleven, the
- 42:50Speaker 1: jury took only one hour to return with their verdict.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Dahlia sat in the courtroom and didn't even flinch as
- 42:58Speaker 1: she was found guilty of solicitation in the first degree
- 43:00Speaker 1: of murder. She was sentenced to twenty years in prison.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Now when this was occurring, there's again more footage coverage
- 43:11Speaker 1: of this. The judge goes off on her about her
- 43:16Speaker 1: zero lack of remorse, her zero lack of respect when
- 43:19Speaker 1: she received her sentence. She stood there or she sat there,
- 43:22Speaker 1: no emotion.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Nothing, just literally doesn't care.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Not a single fuck given. Wow, none of.
- 43:30Speaker 2: It, because you would think at some point and be like, yeah,
- 43:32Speaker 2: I really screwed up. Like twenty months sitting in a
- 43:35Speaker 2: jail cell, I feel like you would at some point
- 43:37Speaker 2: be like, wow, like I messed up.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Well, now she has twenty years to think about it.
- 43:43Speaker 2: However, Oh you're kidding. There got to be no However.
- 43:47Speaker 1: She and he in her defense appealed the decision one
- 43:50Speaker 1: month later due to a technicality of the jury being
- 43:54Speaker 1: improperly selected. Oh my gosh, and she remained on house
- 43:58Speaker 1: arrest instead of jail for six years until a retrial
- 44:01Speaker 1: took place in twenty sixteen.
- 44:03Speaker 2: House arrest way or like with her mom, I guess.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I'm not too sure which address, rutal, But yeah, she
- 44:09Speaker 1: was on house arrest instead of prison for six years brutal. Now,
- 44:13Speaker 1: in the retrial, she was again found guilty of solicitation
- 44:17Speaker 1: in the first degree in mark, of course she was,
- 44:20Speaker 1: and she used that same defense. She still maintained her
- 44:23Speaker 1: innocence throughout it all, throughout it all.
- 44:29Speaker 2: You're really hammering the points here, aren't you.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Yeah, And so in this case, she was sentenced to
- 44:36Speaker 1: sixteen years in prison on July twenty first, twenty seventeen,
- 44:40Speaker 1: which technically would equal out to be a longer sentence.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Actually, yes, I was just it's twenty two years.
- 44:46Speaker 1: However, six of those years was house arrest rather than prison,
- 44:49Speaker 1: so it probably better still.
- 44:51Speaker 2: But then also, like you just experienced six years of
- 44:54Speaker 2: house arrest and now you're going back to jail. That's
- 44:57Speaker 2: like almost worse.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Yeah, oh with that, sorry, excuse me. Dahlia dipp Alito,
- 45:04Speaker 1: I'm sure her last name might be changed by now,
- 45:07Speaker 1: will be staying at the Lowell Correctional Institute in Okalla, Florida,
- 45:12Speaker 1: until twenty thirty two. She has ten more years to go,
- 45:17Speaker 1: but she will still maintain her innocence the whole time.
- 45:20Speaker 1: I'm sure, because she still does to this day. She
- 45:23Speaker 1: claims it was all in act to get on TV.
- 45:26Speaker 1: She also claims that the police department were in on it.
- 45:29Speaker 1: She claims because they were trying to extravagate this whole
- 45:32Speaker 1: cop scenario and try and make a buck off it.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Wow.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Her ex boyfriend Mike was in on it. Sorry, Mohammed,
- 45:39Speaker 1: I can't remember which one exactly, one of the ex boyfriends. Yes,
- 45:42Speaker 1: it was Mohammed, Sorry, Mohammed was in on it. I'm
- 45:45Speaker 1: her ex husband, Michael. He was all in on. Everyone
- 45:48Speaker 1: was in on it, and she is just the one
- 45:50Speaker 1: to take the victim circumstance from the entire situation.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Hm. Okay. This is scary though, because she's not going
- 45:57Speaker 2: to be that old when she gets out, and she's
- 46:00Speaker 2: not going to be a changed woman.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Nope.
- 46:03Speaker 2: So like the world should be a little afraid. Well,
- 46:06Speaker 2: what is she brewing up in there?
- 46:08Speaker 1: Speaking of that?
- 46:10Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, should I just say weigh us?
- 46:13Speaker 1: You kind of did frick Because her ex boyfriend Mohammad,
- 46:17Speaker 1: the one who initially reported her to the authorities regarding
- 46:20Speaker 1: her plan, was found dead in his apartment under suspicious
- 46:24Speaker 1: circumstances in November of twenty twenty one. What his cause
- 46:29Speaker 1: of death is still unknown, as his autopsy report has
- 46:32Speaker 1: apparently yet to be released.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Because this is not that that's like a year ago yep,
- 46:38Speaker 2: not even yep.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Okay, So as far as any report that I've seen,
- 46:45Speaker 1: say this is not necessarily tied to Dahlia whatsoever? Well, yeah,
- 46:49Speaker 1: I mean, could it be your tied to her somehow?
- 46:52Speaker 1: He did have a criminal record of his own, I
- 46:54Speaker 1: do want to say that.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Well, yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
- 46:56Speaker 1: But perhaps as things play out in our next few years,
- 46:59Speaker 1: we may get a better idea if Dahlia was actually
- 47:02Speaker 1: manipulative enough to get revenge from behind bars.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Well honestly, because he would. He was the one that
- 47:07Speaker 2: kind of really screwed this up for her, right yep,
- 47:10Speaker 2: if it wasn't for him. So, and she does seem
- 47:14Speaker 2: like she would be one to do that.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I mean, it's not like she hasn't tried before or wow,
- 47:23Speaker 1: So that is a murder for hire with Dalia Dippolito.
- 47:28Speaker 1: She is we oneof She's something.
- 47:35Speaker 2: I know. I know, there's so many words you want
- 47:37Speaker 2: to throw out, but it's like you gotta be careful, Like, wow,
- 47:41Speaker 2: that is some nerve she.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Deserves a fucking rot for much longer than those twenty years.
- 47:45Speaker 1: In my opinion, I do hope she comes out and
- 47:50Speaker 1: is reformed. I do want to say that.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I mean, there's the small possibility, but I would not
- 47:56Speaker 2: hold my breath.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I do think when we see her come out, she
- 48:00Speaker 1: is going to come out and continue to play victim
- 48:02Speaker 1: uh huh, And we're going to see memoirs released and
- 48:05Speaker 1: all that sort of stuff, and she is going to
- 48:07Speaker 1: eventually make money off her side of the story, well
- 48:10Speaker 1: playing and.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Who is she going to prey on next too? That's true,
- 48:14Speaker 2: be afraid people.
- 48:16Speaker 1: But she has already done like interview reports with I
- 48:18Speaker 1: can't remember the news sources, but it was like big noise,
- 48:20Speaker 1: new source like ABC or something like that.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Or is probably already writing her damn book, probably really,
- 48:26Speaker 2: And that's a book that I kind of want to
- 48:29Speaker 2: just like buy a copy and burn, but that I
- 48:31Speaker 2: don't want to buy a copy because I'm supporting here,
- 48:33Speaker 2: I know, so maybe I'll just I don't know, pee
- 48:36Speaker 2: on a copy in a library. Or there's no way
- 48:40Speaker 2: that she can be that she can make money and
- 48:43Speaker 2: like off this, there's just no way.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Oh really, you think, so, what was that one case
- 48:49Speaker 1: from Japan? Remember the one that I found absolutely atrocious?
- 48:52Speaker 2: No, the celebrity cannibal?
- 48:55Speaker 1: Yeah, how the fuck?
- 48:58Speaker 2: But at least like he had a story to share.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Ish And as far as she's going to write, so
- 49:04Speaker 1: does she, I guess especially, everyone has a story. It
- 49:09Speaker 1: doesn't matter how good or bad or evil or whatever.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Everyone has a story. Yeah, and it all depends on
- 49:15Speaker 1: how much she twists it. She has twenty two years
- 49:19Speaker 1: to twist this story.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Okay, Devil's advocate. What if that's legit or this is
- 49:25Speaker 2: no way.
- 49:27Speaker 1: The thing that makes me say it's not legit is
- 49:30Speaker 1: if you listen to the private but recorded conversation from
- 49:34Speaker 1: her from her prison cell to her husband Michael afterwards,
- 49:39Speaker 1: when she's in jail, when she calls her husband, there's
- 49:42Speaker 1: no talk of this being set up. You're letting me
- 49:45Speaker 1: take the fall for There's no conversation of it whatsoever.
- 49:48Speaker 1: He's just like explained this experience. She's like, it wasn't me,
- 49:51Speaker 1: it wasn't me.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Well, and then honestly, that the audio clip that you've shared, like,
- 49:57Speaker 2: there's just no way that someone in that situation who
- 50:03Speaker 2: was just being told something like that by the first
- 50:06Speaker 2: time would act like that.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I've tried to play Devil's advocate myself, researching this
- 50:12Speaker 1: case over and over and over again. I tried to
- 50:14Speaker 1: think of any angle where it's possible that she is
- 50:18Speaker 1: telling the truth, where that is the case, where she
- 50:20Speaker 1: is the victim, where it's just you know, bad circumstances
- 50:24Speaker 1: turned worse and she's taking the fall. I can't find
- 50:28Speaker 1: or see or even manufacture a shred of evidence to
- 50:33Speaker 1: support her story. Yes, I can't.
- 50:36Speaker 2: No, I mean, I mean, no, there's no way that
- 50:39Speaker 2: it's true. But it's just I was just being a twit.
- 50:42Speaker 1: And one of the things that really points towards it
- 50:45Speaker 1: being that it's a falsified story. Michael Dippolito has not
- 50:50Speaker 1: searched out any fame from this case since.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm sure he wants to just put this
- 50:55Speaker 2: shit behind him.
- 50:56Speaker 1: That's exactly what he wants.
- 50:57Speaker 2: I mean, but you often have to say I also
- 50:58Speaker 2: have to say, like he oh yeah, he's like his Okay,
- 51:04Speaker 2: I just thought of this. His first wife is probably
- 51:06Speaker 2: just like, yes, Karma's on my side, Like seriously, she's
- 51:13Speaker 2: probably just like running for the hills and probably probably
- 51:17Speaker 2: did you think of that. That's freaking goal.
- 51:19Speaker 1: I didn't really think of that. Well, I the thought
- 51:22Speaker 1: crossed my mind, but I never really thought about it,
- 51:25Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, I hope that she's a good person and
- 51:29Speaker 2: that she's enjoying.
- 51:31Speaker 1: This and far far away from all this drama.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a lot of drama. It's crazy.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Yeah, good work. Wow, So I'm glad to present a
- 51:40Speaker 1: case where no individual was physically harmed. Yeah, in the
- 51:45Speaker 1: recording of this podcast or the story involved years prior
- 51:49Speaker 1: to so there's actually in the investigation. One of the
- 51:55Speaker 1: police officers says to Dahlia in the room when they're
- 51:58Speaker 1: trying to get her to confess, he's like, think of
- 51:59Speaker 1: it this way. A tragedy was avoided today, and he's
- 52:04Speaker 1: absolutely right, which absolutely thankful for Yeah.
- 52:08Speaker 2: No, that's great because that and Michael should just be
- 52:11Speaker 2: so thankful, Like hopefully he's so grateful for his life.
