- 1:38Speaker 1: I am your host, Wayne also known as Semi Dry Chicken,
- 1:41Speaker 1: and this is an interview episode. That's right. It is
- 1:45Speaker 1: not a predictions episode, is not a post show episode.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It is not even the bragget that I've been dying
- 1:51Speaker 1: to fucking get to. We're not even there yet. But
- 1:53Speaker 1: this is an interview and I liked him once in
- 1:55Speaker 1: a while. Bring some new peeps into the show, you know,
- 1:59Speaker 1: reach out to the wrestling community, find other marks like
- 2:02Speaker 1: us well from the podcast Sofa King Smarks. Let me
- 2:09Speaker 1: introduce them. Let me talk to Hooey. Welcome to the show.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Yo, let me talk to you.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah, man, introduce yourself.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Yeah, my name is My name is Hoovey, I one
- 2:31Speaker 4: third of the Sofa King smarks wrestling, UFC Sports in
- 2:35Speaker 4: Shenanigan's podcast. I've been doing the podcast for almost two
- 2:40Speaker 4: years now, twos. I just took a breakthrough for a
- 2:43Speaker 4: little bit, like maybe once a month now. But we
- 2:46Speaker 4: used to do weekly showings, and then wrestling got got
- 2:49Speaker 4: boring to to watch six hours of wrestling every week
- 2:53Speaker 4: got too boring for us for a little bit, so
- 2:55Speaker 4: we just did the like predictions and recaps and things
- 2:59Speaker 4: like that. So we do UFC Fight Nights and the
- 3:05Speaker 4: the UFC the the big pay per views we do.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Sometimes we live stream with each other watching together, some
- 3:11Speaker 4: live reactions things like that. Yeah, we have a lot
- 3:14Speaker 4: of fun. Three of us. We we all met through
- 3:16Speaker 4: the same uh face group Facebook group that that you
- 3:20Speaker 4: and I met through. Yeah, man, that community is uh
- 3:24Speaker 4: has helped me made a lot of wrestling friends.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah. I was gonna say, like, how how did it
- 3:29Speaker 1: even start out? You guys doing your own wrestling podcast,
- 3:32Speaker 1: you know, wrestling UFC. Like it's just you guys just
- 3:36Speaker 1: what just get together and talk about it all the time.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You're like, you know what, why don't we just press record?
- 3:42Speaker 4: That's that's that's basically it. We uh, we were doing
- 3:46Speaker 4: fantasy football and then I didn't really watch UFC all
- 3:49Speaker 4: that much at that point, but the guys did, and
- 3:53Speaker 4: yeah we should. Like we just you know, we met
- 3:56Speaker 4: through a podcast podcast group. We listened to the same
- 3:58Speaker 4: podcasts talk about it. Let's let's have our own input.
- 4:02Speaker 4: I was like, all right, let's do it. Let's see,
- 4:03Speaker 4: let's see how long we could do this for. And yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 4: we're going on two years strong and hopefully go longer
- 4:09Speaker 4: than that.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, I mean, dude, that's awesome. It's so cool
- 4:13Speaker 1: knowing that there's other people, you know, like us who
- 4:16Speaker 1: just want to get together and just shoot the ship
- 4:18Speaker 1: about wrestling. Like you know, I'm want to play the
- 4:21Speaker 1: uh the sound bite, but you know, fucking Mark, we're
- 4:25Speaker 1: fucking mars Man, Like we're so like, you know, h
- 4:29Speaker 1: every day people I think about that term, you know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: Marx and it's like, I am a fucking Mark. How
- 4:34Speaker 1: why I have my own fucking show? Like that makes
- 4:37Speaker 1: me a fuck I have? We have wrestling merch now,
- 4:41Speaker 1: you know, like for a podcast like that, we're marx
- 4:45Speaker 1: Man through and through. Like that's awesome.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I know, yeah, I mean hence our hence our names marks,
- 4:51Speaker 4: you know, because that's I love it. We are We're
- 4:53Speaker 4: just we're just fucking fucking marks.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I mean, like I would like to get the rest
- 4:58Speaker 1: of the guys from your show over here. We've got
- 5:00Speaker 1: to have like a collab.
- 5:01Speaker 4: You know.
- 5:02Speaker 1: You guys got good chemistry, so you guys definitely are
- 5:07Speaker 1: fans of the product, you know, But it's so much
- 5:13Speaker 1: to take in. Uh, you know, like wrestling all week
- 5:17Speaker 1: like between like basically every day of the week. Uh,
- 5:21Speaker 1: there's something of wrestling on and to cover all that
- 5:24Speaker 1: week to week that you know, some people listeners just
- 5:26Speaker 1: don't understand how difficult that is.
- 5:29Speaker 4: It's brutal, dude.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yeah, Like we might be able to cover like Raw
- 5:33Speaker 1: and smack Down, but like to cover like NXT, awtn
- 5:36Speaker 1: A and everything else in between, and then people, you know,
- 5:41Speaker 1: they want news on ends. It's like I just can't
- 5:43Speaker 1: do it. I gotta have a life, like you know
- 5:47Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Yeah, for us, it's it's like I don't have a life,
- 5:52Speaker 4: so I can I can legit just sit there and
- 5:54Speaker 4: watch wrestling.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Yeah I can't.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I can't do aw man, I just oh yeah, do it.
- 6:01Speaker 4: NXT I as soon as NXT two point always started,
- 6:05Speaker 4: I kind of just jumped the ship there. I didn't
- 6:08Speaker 4: really want to I want to keep going with it.
- 6:10Speaker 4: As soon as you know, Undisputed Era left, I was like,
- 6:12Speaker 4: I'm done with NXT and TNA uh TNA. I watch
- 6:17Speaker 4: it every now and then. I don't keep up with
- 6:18Speaker 4: it a weekly, but once or twice a month for
- 6:21Speaker 4: pay per views. I definitely watched those. But yeah, aw
- 6:24Speaker 4: A just I think aw sucked the life out of
- 6:27Speaker 4: watching all the other promotions.
- 6:29Speaker 1: For me, Yeah, it can be draining like that. Like
- 6:35Speaker 1: I was like a big fan of NXT until Triple
- 6:38Speaker 1: H left the Black and Gold. Yeah, you're right. Then
- 6:42Speaker 1: we got to two point zero. Then I kind of
- 6:45Speaker 1: fell off NXT for a while. TENA. I'm always keeping
- 6:50Speaker 1: my ear to the ground because we're doing more and
- 6:52Speaker 1: more business with TNA WW as a whole. So it's like, okay,
- 6:57Speaker 1: now I'm keeping my ear to the ground a little
- 6:59Speaker 1: bit more for He's this company. But aw, Like when
- 7:03Speaker 1: it started out, I recall myself, Yeah it was good.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I had two TVs on. I have NXT on and
- 7:12Speaker 1: living room and AW on in the dining room, and
- 7:16Speaker 1: I would be watching both shows, and I wanted, I
- 7:19Speaker 1: guess at the time, I wanted the nostalgia feeling of
- 7:23Speaker 1: the Monday Night Waters and I was not getting it.
- 7:28Speaker 1: You know, uh now what I expected. They kind of
- 7:32Speaker 1: don't find each other as much as a threat with
- 7:34Speaker 1: with the numbers, game and views and whatever, but they're
- 7:42Speaker 1: still around.
- 7:44Speaker 4: I definitely enjoyed AW when it first started because everything
- 7:48Speaker 4: you just said it felt like WCW and I was
- 7:51Speaker 4: always a WW guy over a WW guy during the
- 7:53Speaker 4: Midnight Wars.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so it.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Felt it felt nostalgic to me. I mean, me and
- 7:58Speaker 4: my kid went to Full Gear twenty twenty one in Minneapolis.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I than that I and I live in At that time,
- 8:04Speaker 4: I was living in Phoenix, Arizona, so I flew across
- 8:06Speaker 4: the country to go see you know, Hangman Page beat
- 8:09Speaker 4: Kenny Omega for the title and it was amazing. It
- 8:12Speaker 4: was great, right, and then Cody left and Tony Kan
- 8:16Speaker 4: started booking, and it was just what are you doing?
- 8:23Speaker 4: That's where That's where I was just like, I have
- 8:26Speaker 4: to get out of this because it's just painful to watch. Well,
- 8:31Speaker 4: since the matches are great, but the story, the storytelling
- 8:35Speaker 4: is just oh god.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Over absolutely because now we've seen what to me felt
- 8:40Speaker 1: like the Thanos Snap. You know, after that five years
- 8:44Speaker 1: in aw those guys who signed those five year contracts
- 8:47Speaker 1: were finally released, and you know we're seeing like guys
- 8:50Speaker 1: like Rusif come back, guys like Alistair Black come back.
- 8:54Speaker 4: You know that Snap is over showing up in NXT
- 8:59Speaker 4: and he says that means that.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I love that, and you know as a whole, like
- 9:04Speaker 1: you think about it as like an employee. It's like
- 9:07Speaker 1: the last time these guys were here, Vince was in charge,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and now you know, you come back and say, oh, well,
- 9:12Speaker 1: you know now Triple Ah's in charge, so different boss.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So you know, maybe that's why a lot of these
- 9:17Speaker 1: guys came back. I think that's that's great. Uh, It's
- 9:21Speaker 1: it's always kind of fun seeing wrestlers go for one
- 9:25Speaker 1: show to the next. It's kind of exciting. It's always
- 9:28Speaker 1: sad when you find out like the wrestler leaves and
- 9:32Speaker 1: then they kind of don't come back and the wrestling
- 9:35Speaker 1: business at all. They just leave wrestling all together. And
- 9:38Speaker 1: that's that's rough as a fan because there's so many
- 9:41Speaker 1: outlets to wrestle for. I mean, gods, Zach Ryder still
- 9:45Speaker 1: not back in the company, still just killing in the
- 9:47Speaker 1: d scene. Or Matt Cardoner, I should say.
- 9:51Speaker 4: I cannot stand Matt Carder. Oh my lord, don't get
- 9:57Speaker 4: me started on Matt Cardoner.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Well, thank god he I mean wonderful. I mean so.
- 10:03Speaker 4: I am, but I don't. I just don't like the
- 10:06Speaker 4: character that of zach Ryder Macrdona as a person. I'm
- 10:11Speaker 4: glad he's doing great. He seems happy doing the indie scene.
- 10:15Speaker 4: I mean, he's married to beautiful woman. Good for the guy,
- 10:19Speaker 4: But it just says the character as the wrestler. I just, man,
- 10:22Speaker 4: I just I hear his name and I just cringe.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Man, hear his name. Man, you will cringe.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I get I get teased a lot by him, by
- 10:34Speaker 4: by by the rest of the guys. They got a
- 10:36Speaker 4: cameo for my birthday from Matt Cardona.
- 10:39Speaker 1: No, that.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Made the thing that made me mad the most is
- 10:45Speaker 4: that he pronounced my name right, and I was livid. Man.
- 10:51Speaker 4: That's a good. Good job, guys, good job getting cameo.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Igot about cameo, you know what, Like I think it
- 10:56Speaker 1: was a couple like maybe like a month or so.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I was on cameo just looking at like what wrestlers
- 11:01Speaker 1: were there. It's like, man, we pay them to say
- 11:04Speaker 1: some ad, you know, space for PCW. But yeah, it's
- 11:08Speaker 1: crazy the world we live in. Like now you do cameos, yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 1: from just like sitting in your own living room, you know.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean we I get a cameo for
- 11:17Speaker 4: for Nate, one of one of my co hosts, because
- 11:19Speaker 4: he's a big nick Age fan. So every year I
- 11:22Speaker 4: get him a nick Age cameo. So he you know,
- 11:25Speaker 4: he's happy with that. But yeah, man, some people just
- 11:28Speaker 4: charge ten bucks to do some kind of whatever and
- 11:31Speaker 4: and you know that's ten bucks in your pocket. You
- 11:34Speaker 4: didn't have, so good for them, I know.
- 11:37Speaker 1: So I want to dig in here about you as
- 11:39Speaker 1: a as a wrestling fan. So was there like, was
- 11:45Speaker 1: there like a match that you saw? Was there a
- 11:47Speaker 1: certain wrestler that made you fall in love with professional wrestling?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Like what was it that got you into it? Did
- 11:52Speaker 1: a family member watch it that you got hooked on it?
- 11:55Speaker 4: Like yeah, let's go from the beginning. So, so my
- 11:59Speaker 4: dad was a big, big Triple A fan. He because
- 12:05Speaker 4: I'm Mexican, and you know, my dad was born in
- 12:09Speaker 4: Mexico and and that's what he grew up with this
- 12:12Speaker 4: triple A triple Uh well, he didn't grow up with
- 12:14Speaker 4: a triple A. Triple A was around like ninety ninety two,
- 12:16Speaker 4: I think is when it started ninety one. But he
- 12:18Speaker 4: was into the whole you know, Mexican wrestling, lotchor wrestling.
- 12:21Speaker 4: So he introduced me to my first, my first wrestling
- 12:29Speaker 4: experience on TV and it was as a matter of fact, Octagon,
- 12:33Speaker 4: not Jr. But the actual, the original, the og Gone
- 12:36Speaker 4: and ever since that, just watching him wrestle and in
- 12:40Speaker 4: triple A was just like man, it captivated me. And
- 12:43Speaker 4: then we'd go to Mexico when I was you know,
- 12:45Speaker 4: I was a kid, I'd go to Mexico and you know,
- 12:47Speaker 4: buy his action figures things like that. And then we
- 12:50Speaker 4: went to a a w W w w F at
- 12:55Speaker 4: the time live event and I got to see Bretta
- 12:58Speaker 4: him man Heart wrestle and that got me hooked into
- 13:01Speaker 4: w W or w w F. So that being said,
- 13:06Speaker 4: you know, I have him rent me movies from the
- 13:09Speaker 4: video store, watched the old WrestleManias, the Hokgans, Macho Man.
- 13:14Speaker 4: So I was just like, man, I need more of this.
- 13:15Speaker 4: So me and my brother would always watch that. We'd
- 13:17Speaker 4: save our allowance money and rent video games, rent the
- 13:21Speaker 4: movies on Friday nights and we just, you know, after
- 13:25Speaker 4: the after we watch a match, we'd go in the
- 13:27Speaker 4: living room and and and you know, put blankets on
- 13:31Speaker 4: the floor and that was our ring and we'd wrestle
- 13:33Speaker 4: the hell out of the of each other after, you know,
- 13:36Speaker 4: mimicking Jerry Lawler versus Brett Bretta him man Heart or
- 13:40Speaker 4: Bob Beckler versus Brett Hard because we were both pretty
- 13:43Speaker 4: hard fans at that time. So yeah, man, that that's
- 13:45Speaker 4: where it's them from just watching a triple A, which
- 13:48Speaker 4: is ironic since you know they got taken over by
- 13:52Speaker 4: w W. Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say that. It's always nice having
- 13:57Speaker 1: a sibling that watches wrestling with you, especially when it's like,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you know, a brother, so it's like, oh yeah, somebody
- 14:03Speaker 1: to either be your tag team partner or somebody you
- 14:05Speaker 1: can beat the crap out of. Uh yes, yeah, like
- 14:08Speaker 1: I recall it. Yeah, me and my brother always hurting
- 14:12Speaker 1: each other doing some backyard wrestling crab. You know. One
- 14:17Speaker 1: of the listeners of the show Ron, Me and him
- 14:19Speaker 1: used to always wrestle as kids and like hurt each
- 14:22Speaker 1: other all the time. Don't try this at home. It's
- 14:25Speaker 1: like cool, Okay, I'll try this at somebody else's house then,
- 14:28Speaker 1: so yeah, I won't. Yeah, I remember that guys, don't
- 14:32Speaker 1: try this at home, but try at somebody else's house
- 14:34Speaker 1: who has maybe a trampoline pool with a diving board.
- 14:38Speaker 1: You know, I don't know, can it be bed?
- 14:41Speaker 4: Like My first experience with backyard with the backyard wrestling was,
- 14:49Speaker 4: believe it or not, was with the Young Bucks. Oh, okay, cousin.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Because I'm I'm from southern cal So, so I went
- 14:58Speaker 4: to my cousin's house one day and then they have
- 15:01Speaker 4: this whole backyard thing set up. And at that time
- 15:04Speaker 4: I didn't know who they were. But until, you know,
- 15:06Speaker 4: until later in life, I realized that it was the
- 15:08Speaker 4: Young Bucks that they were. I was watching the Young
- 15:10Speaker 4: Bucks wrestle before they were even the young Bucks because
- 15:13Speaker 4: they were just hanging out with my cousin. My cousin
- 15:15Speaker 4: is one of their best friends. So it's like really young, yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 4: the kid Bucks at that point, and that got me
- 15:24Speaker 4: into the more like that started my markeism, I guess
- 15:29Speaker 4: you could say, is started seeing like how it worked.
- 15:33Speaker 4: You know, when they were practicing their moves things like that,
- 15:36Speaker 4: So I can't stand them the young Bucks nowadays either.
- 15:39Speaker 4: But yeah, there's a lot of things that there's a
- 15:44Speaker 4: lot of things that I hate. I get I get
- 15:46Speaker 4: teased on a lot. I like to look at things
- 15:49Speaker 4: everything with an open mind, but then I realized I
- 15:51Speaker 4: ended up paying everything anyways, find out the truth.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, man, but it's nice to eat the voice your though,
- 16:01Speaker 1: you know, especially in the wrestling community.
- 16:05Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, we all hate something like there's no
- 16:08Speaker 4: there's no wrestling fan, wrestling mark that doesn't hate anything
- 16:12Speaker 4: from wrestling. That's why. That's what makes wrestling so beautiful
- 16:15Speaker 4: as a as a whole, because you can have your opinions,
- 16:18Speaker 4: you can have your discussions. Sometimes they get heated, sometimes
- 16:22Speaker 4: they're very friendly. They sway you a certain direction. So
- 16:25Speaker 4: oh yeah, it's a great community.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Anytime we bring up any kind of female wrestlers, it's
- 16:30Speaker 1: always it's right away. I get shipped for who I
- 16:33Speaker 1: like who, Why, the style that they wrestle, how shitty
- 16:36Speaker 1: they are. Don't worry, man, Dre just like dumps it.
- 16:39Speaker 4: On me.
- 16:42Speaker 1: If it's Charlotte or Nikki Bella that I like. I mean,
- 16:45Speaker 1: Jerre will find a way to ship on my parade.
- 16:48Speaker 1: But uh, you know, right rightfully, so where where is deserved.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But uh, you know, I'll call out the bad spots
- 16:56Speaker 1: and stuff with some of the female wrestlers I like.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But yeah, dude, it's it's I regardless. I still like
- 17:02Speaker 1: to stand my ground on my opinion on certain wrestlers.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And I don't change my opinion because you know it's
- 17:09Speaker 1: the Yeat flavor of the month or you know, everybody's
- 17:13Speaker 1: on the Cody Roads wag you know wagon like I
- 17:16Speaker 1: sometimes you just you know, believe in what you believe in.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Man Like you like the wrestler why because they have
- 17:21Speaker 1: a great gimmick, they are great in the ring, or
- 17:25Speaker 1: you know, there's just a good person overall, a good worker,
- 17:29Speaker 1: you know, Like yeah, you know, I like, I respect
- 17:32Speaker 1: people who work hard in the business that you know
- 17:35Speaker 1: that they may not be getting all the w's, but
- 17:38Speaker 1: they're they're putting over.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Talent, you know, because a lot of times as fans,
- 17:44Speaker 4: we forget that, you know, aside from being entertainment from
- 17:48Speaker 4: their world, it's a job and every businesson has a
- 17:52Speaker 4: job role and some some person some people their job
- 17:55Speaker 4: role is to put other people over. It's just a job,
- 17:58Speaker 4: it's to take that one special if they bump and
- 18:00Speaker 4: catering like and as fans sometimes we forget that that's
- 18:04Speaker 4: the nature of the business as well, is that you
- 18:06Speaker 4: need you need your jobbers, you need your your catering,
- 18:09Speaker 4: you need your main inventors. And you know, we were
- 18:12Speaker 4: just spoiled. We want everything the way we wanted and
- 18:15Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, we were weigh it.
- 18:18Speaker 1: It's it's crazy to think too that. Like I heard
- 18:21Speaker 1: the other day that on you know, just general like salaries,
- 18:26Speaker 1: if you're on NXT, it's roughly two hundred and fifty
- 18:29Speaker 1: k a year. And you know, think about guys, like
- 18:33Speaker 1: think about guys like a cartwa That man is still
- 18:36Speaker 1: in the roster after so many people get cut, right,
- 18:39Speaker 1: this guy gets very some TV time. Right now he's
- 18:43Speaker 1: hanging out with two hot blondes. But like, just think that.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I mean, that guy's not that guy's not winning titles,
- 18:49Speaker 1: he's not winning money in the bank, not made of
- 18:52Speaker 1: any of wrestling mania. But that man is getting a
- 18:54Speaker 1: consistent fucking paycheck and as much shit as any of
- 18:59Speaker 1: us will give him, he's making probably more than both
- 19:01Speaker 1: of you and me combined, you know what I mean?
- 19:05Speaker 1: Like the lifestyle.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yeah, the reason is because he has a role. He
- 19:09Speaker 4: has a job duty there and that's what people don't understand.
- 19:13Speaker 4: I enjoy it to Zawa no matter how long this
- 19:16Speaker 4: segment is. He I mean like he's there to work
- 19:19Speaker 4: and you can tell he works hard even though he
- 19:21Speaker 4: when he has what ten seconds fifteen seconds of spotlight time,
- 19:24Speaker 4: but he's still he's still out to performing. He's still
- 19:27Speaker 4: out there taking bumps stuff that you know most people
- 19:29Speaker 4: aren't doing. Yeah, so cool, that's true.
- 19:32Speaker 1: So like right now in the in the company, who
- 19:36Speaker 1: is your newest favorite wrestler like upcoming young meat, I
- 19:41Speaker 1: should say, I mean.
- 19:42Speaker 4: I've I've been a fan of Ricky Starks for Okay,
- 19:47Speaker 4: I am a Ricky Starks guy, and obviously Ricky Saint's
- 19:51Speaker 4: kind of guy now, but when he when he got
- 19:54Speaker 4: buried in aw that that kind of stung a little
- 19:56Speaker 4: bit and made me hate the company even more. But
- 19:59Speaker 4: you know, at the in the day, it's one of
- 20:01Speaker 4: those things where you know they know what they're doing
- 20:03Speaker 4: on there, and but yeah, Ricky, I do love, I
- 20:06Speaker 4: do enjoy Ricky Stark's. Man. I'm a huge Stephanie for
- 20:11Speaker 4: Care fan. Like I said, watch. I watched, I watched,
- 20:14Speaker 4: I watched a lot of Mexican wrestling because I actually
- 20:17Speaker 4: live in Mexico, so it's on all the time over here.
- 20:20Speaker 4: So yeah, Mexican wrestling is where it's at right now.
- 20:24Speaker 4: It's it's growing, it's it's it's getting popular. So Stephanie
- 20:27Speaker 4: for carer uh persifone is a good female wrestler, like Adelina,
- 20:33Speaker 4: she's pretty good. She's pretty good female wrestler. Psycho clowns
- 20:36Speaker 4: your your mister Iguana, which is a new favorite. Yeah,
- 20:46Speaker 4: it's just amazingly Yeah, he he uh he he can move,
- 20:52Speaker 4: he can take the big he could do the you know,
- 20:54Speaker 4: the big spots. He he's uh acrobatic like he she's
- 20:58Speaker 4: he has everything he has, he has, he has the
- 21:01Speaker 4: he has. He's basically a a better version of Satina Morella,
- 21:05Speaker 4: like an actual better wrestler. He's he's a he's a
- 21:09Speaker 4: fun gimmick, but he can actually do things in the ring,
- 21:13Speaker 4: which is great. So yeah, yeah, I all those guys,
- 21:17Speaker 4: A lot of those guys I'm huge fans of.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, like I I like the ones your name and
- 21:22Speaker 1: you know for me, like, uh, I know some of
- 21:26Speaker 1: these people have some history in a W but for
- 21:29Speaker 1: somebody who doesn't watch a W religiously at all. So
- 21:34Speaker 1: some of these guys coming over from AW is new
- 21:37Speaker 1: to me and they're being built up properly. One of
- 21:40Speaker 1: them for me is Penta. I I this guy had
- 21:45Speaker 1: man since he's been to w W. He's just you know,
- 21:49Speaker 1: he he doesn't have a title yet, but he's been
- 21:52Speaker 1: pushed up into that scene, mixing it up with some
- 21:57Speaker 1: main inventors. And uh, I mean hell he did. He
- 22:01Speaker 1: was great at money in the bank. I mean uh
- 22:04Speaker 1: I I got my eyes in the sky future like
- 22:08Speaker 1: main inventor. You know, Jacob Fatu, another one that just
- 22:13Speaker 1: like all gas, no brakes man like this guy is
- 22:16Speaker 1: going to be a main inventor. Uh.
- 22:19Speaker 4: And Jacob comes with baggage like he does. He's not
- 22:22Speaker 4: coming with a good history behind him, you know what
- 22:24Speaker 4: I'm saying. Right for him to turn his life around
- 22:27Speaker 4: and and and be loved by millions of people, it's amazing, my, My.
- 22:34Speaker 4: The thing about Penta is so my mom watches wrestling.
- 22:38Speaker 4: We call her Mama Mark because she genuinely, genuinely believes
- 22:43Speaker 4: it's real. So she gets super into it.
- 22:46Speaker 1: All right, So I will I will play this for
- 22:48Speaker 1: her then yeah, continue, Oh yeah, I tell I tell
- 22:54Speaker 1: her all the time.
- 22:56Speaker 4: We so Penta before, right before Penta came to w W.
- 23:00Speaker 4: I live in a small town, a small border town
- 23:03Speaker 4: here in Mexico called Saint Luis in Sonora, and Penta
- 23:07Speaker 4: came here last May, and you know, we were talking
- 23:12Speaker 4: about this because, uh, you know, seeing him in a
- 23:15Speaker 4: crowd of one hundred people in this auditorium where we
- 23:18Speaker 4: you know, me and my mom sought second row and
- 23:21Speaker 4: then my son and I going to WrestleMania in Las
- 23:23Speaker 4: Vegas and seeing him wrestle in front of sixty thousand people.
- 23:29Speaker 4: It goes to show you, like how how much hard
- 23:32Speaker 4: work these wrestlers put into and how much they sacrifice
- 23:36Speaker 4: that we just kind of we kind of take it
- 23:38Speaker 4: for granted, like we don't sometimes we just don't care
- 23:40Speaker 4: where they come from. We just want to see them
- 23:41Speaker 4: on the TV. But you have to remember, like these guys,
- 23:45Speaker 4: these guys work their butt off, like they that that
- 23:47Speaker 4: that famous quote you know, you wrestled for handshaking the
- 23:50Speaker 4: hot dog, Like sometimes they did that. And now I'm
- 23:54Speaker 4: making you know, thousands of dollars and like you said,
- 23:57Speaker 4: he's he's not main eventing, but he man they bathe fastest,
- 24:00Speaker 4: one of the fastest rising stars in w W. Ever
- 24:04Speaker 4: mm hm.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Is there like a wrestler right now that like anytime
- 24:13Speaker 1: you see them on the screen, they make you smile,
- 24:16Speaker 1: they make you laugh. Is there any wrestler that really
- 24:21Speaker 1: sticks out for you like that? Uh? For me, yeah,
- 24:24Speaker 1: I mean we're gonna We're probably on the same page.
- 24:26Speaker 1: It's it's Our Truth for me, uh, it always. I
- 24:30Speaker 1: mean Our Truth has just been the comical piece for
- 24:33Speaker 1: the longest time I remember, like the ruthless aggression Eira,
- 24:38Speaker 1: I think for another person. For me with Santino, Uh,
- 24:41Speaker 1: just a comical relief, like the guy would just sometimes
- 24:45Speaker 1: like the cheesy shit really is hard for me to
- 24:48Speaker 1: laugh at. But there are times where like Santino or
- 24:52Speaker 1: Our Truth would do something and it would just it
- 24:54Speaker 1: would make me break, like it was just if.
- 24:57Speaker 4: They have they have impeccable comedic timing. That's what it
- 25:01Speaker 4: is because in the same way, like some of the
- 25:04Speaker 4: cheesy stuff I don't care for, but our Truth just
- 25:06Speaker 4: knows when to deliver. Santino when he when he would
- 25:09Speaker 4: mispronounce the names of people, John China, when, when when
- 25:14Speaker 4: when when I saw TikTok when he showed all the
- 25:18Speaker 4: names he mispronounced. I was laughing like a dork for
- 25:20Speaker 4: a good five minutes straight just listening and watching that
- 25:24Speaker 4: video and repeat because it.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Was Oh my god, yeah, yeah, shamous and.
- 25:30Speaker 4: John Chinna golden Dust, golden dust, It's amazing.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I was saying even gold dust at some point like, uh,
- 25:41Speaker 1: just with the funny skits, oh yeah, yeay, even now, like, uh,
- 25:49Speaker 1: I don't know who we're gonna have really have for
- 25:51Speaker 1: that position because you kind of they kind of got
- 25:54Speaker 1: rid of the goofball role at the moment, like Carlito's
- 25:58Speaker 1: not there. Our truth is now Ron Killians is a
- 26:02Speaker 1: totally different wrestler now, I mean.
- 26:07Speaker 4: Character change. I mean the only thing that that that
- 26:10Speaker 4: I can see that's comedic and we you know, we
- 26:12Speaker 4: talked about him just a little while ago as to
- 26:14Speaker 4: Zawa and otis theo's Are those are new comedy guys?
- 26:19Speaker 1: Now? Yeah, I mean, hey, if that's your position in
- 26:21Speaker 1: the company and whatever man gets, that's a that's a
- 26:24Speaker 1: big role because you're not yeah you're not you're not
- 26:27Speaker 1: a main event guy, but you're you're supplying laughs to people. Uh.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I would say, a good female version of that would
- 26:35Speaker 1: be Chelsea Green.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Chelsea Green is amazing. Her gimmick when she won the
- 26:40Speaker 4: US title is the President with the Secret Service. It
- 26:45Speaker 4: was great. I did not like that they took the
- 26:48Speaker 4: belt off of her because I thought she was doing
- 26:50Speaker 4: such a great job.
- 26:51Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, I agree, but you know, sometimes
- 26:55Speaker 1: the chase is more, is more fun. Uh.
- 26:58Speaker 4: You know.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I was happy to that Selena Vega finally got a title.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You know, she's had a tag title, that's about it.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It was okay, well, she's not going to be a
- 27:07Speaker 1: main eventor like give her something else, like awesome United
- 27:11Speaker 1: States title. Uh, but you know that that's the start.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Only we're getting that too with the the Intercontinental title. Now.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I kind of figured at some point Bailey and Becky
- 27:23Speaker 1: Lynch are going to add that to their you know, repertoire, like,
- 27:27Speaker 1: you know, why not. You're a Grand Slam champion, keep
- 27:30Speaker 1: being a Grand Slam champion, like, so I gotta win
- 27:32Speaker 1: these minor titles.
- 27:35Speaker 4: The The only thing that I don't like about what
- 27:38Speaker 4: they're doing with Becky and Bailey is, you know, back
- 27:42Speaker 4: in back in our back in our day, because I'm
- 27:44Speaker 4: turning I turned forty this year. So you know, I
- 27:49Speaker 4: watched wrestling and yeah, yeah, the US title, the TV title,
- 27:53Speaker 4: you know, the intercuntent of title, those were for rising stars.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Those are the guys were you know, they're getting ready
- 27:59Speaker 4: for the big push. We want to see if they
- 28:00Speaker 4: can do it, they can hold a championship and do
- 28:02Speaker 4: do well by it. Now they're kind of going backwards
- 28:06Speaker 4: and they want to make these titles a little more prestige.
- 28:09Speaker 4: But I like Becky doesn't need the title right now,
- 28:13Speaker 4: Like she needs to do her own thing, like her
- 28:15Speaker 4: coming in off of what our hiatus she was doing
- 28:18Speaker 4: and winning the belt off of Lira and then the
- 28:21Speaker 4: last time it happened, she did it off of Bianca
- 28:23Speaker 4: at Summer Slamming. That's just like, come on, you don't
- 28:26Speaker 4: you don't really need that, Like give me that that
- 28:28Speaker 4: man build up again. That was so much fun for Becky. Yeah,
- 28:31Speaker 4: for fans, and you know, just don't go backwards, keep
- 28:35Speaker 4: going and keep having some feuds and personal feuds. I
- 28:38Speaker 4: feel like we don't have those personal feuds like we
- 28:40Speaker 4: used to do anymore by a lot of the wrestlers.
- 28:42Speaker 4: I mean, we had what cmpunk Drew McIntyre Drew McIntyre,
- 28:46Speaker 4: Damian Priest, Like I want more personal some of those
- 28:48Speaker 4: personal matches we used to get back in the day.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I get it. Yeah, because like even now, I mean, uh,
- 28:55Speaker 1: it makes me notionals even thinking about it. But we
- 28:57Speaker 1: we we put the world title back on Gunther, which
- 29:02Speaker 1: I'm fine with. I love Gunther, great guy. I'm all
- 29:05Speaker 1: for it. I'm on the Gunther train. I've been since
- 29:08Speaker 1: nxc UK. I have not stopped. I've been behind this
- 29:11Speaker 1: men the whole way. But now we got Goldberg. Did
- 29:15Speaker 1: we really need to insert a world title in this
- 29:18Speaker 1: picture at all? Could we have not just done this
- 29:21Speaker 1: without them and keep on yeating through the rest of
- 29:24Speaker 1: the summer. But I mean that's another can of worms
- 29:27Speaker 1: we can definitely open.
- 29:28Speaker 4: But I'll say this, like I was at the Money
- 29:33Speaker 4: Night Raw in Phoenix when when Gunther beach and should
- 29:37Speaker 4: when you know, leaving leaving the arena, it felt amazing
- 29:41Speaker 4: watching Gunther and the crowd just going crazy that he won. Yeah,
- 29:45Speaker 4: and you know, going on going on Twitter or Instagram
- 29:48Speaker 4: and just kind of seeing all the negative comments on it.
- 29:51Speaker 4: It's like you gotta remember sometimes that a lot of times, uh,
- 29:57Speaker 4: they make some of these matches in some of these shows,
- 29:59Speaker 4: they can it to the live crowd and not the
- 30:03Speaker 4: TV crowd because it translates different same thing, like like
- 30:07Speaker 4: like with Cody and sinat WrestleMania. You know, I was there.
- 30:11Speaker 4: I was there at WrestleMania this year and live. It
- 30:15Speaker 4: was amazing. It was such a great story that they
- 30:18Speaker 4: were telling in the ring when I watched it on TV. Yeah,
- 30:21Speaker 4: I understand where people are coming from, So I definitely enjoyed.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Good they're winning, But Goldberg just coming back for the title.
- 30:31Speaker 4: That's just a contract loss. That's all it is. And
- 30:33Speaker 4: we have to look at it that way, at least
- 30:35Speaker 4: at least I look at it that way, so it
- 30:36Speaker 4: doesn't piss me off.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Right now. Do you have like a comfort wrestler, like
- 30:44Speaker 1: a wrestler that like, no matter what match they're gonna
- 30:47Speaker 1: be in, what few, they're gonna be in your you
- 30:49Speaker 1: know it's gonna be decent. You know it's gonna be good.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Oh Man, Drew McIntyre, Mac, that's one.
- 30:56Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 30:57Speaker 4: That guy can do no wrong. Right now. It sucks
- 31:00Speaker 4: that he's that he's legitimately injured and he and he
- 31:03Speaker 4: needs to break anyways because he's been constantly grinding for
- 31:06Speaker 4: the last few years.
- 31:07Speaker 1: But I mean his his.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Promos with with C and Punk were fucking phenomenal. That
- 31:13Speaker 4: hell in the Cell was amazing. His his interactions with
- 31:17Speaker 4: Damian Priest were great. The set, the set stuff was amazing.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Like he he deserves to break and and I want
- 31:23Speaker 4: him back on the the title scene, something something big
- 31:26Speaker 4: for him.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, that is definitely a good one. That's the
- 31:32Speaker 1: same because the man can cut promos. Uh, he will
- 31:35Speaker 1: wreck you on Twitter like he's great in the ring.
- 31:38Speaker 4: And when he showed up in Chicago to with that
- 31:43Speaker 4: that bakery where seeing Punk gets his gets his uh
- 31:47Speaker 4: his uh muffins and stuff and show them to the
- 31:50Speaker 4: place to buy that dude, that was that was just
- 31:53Speaker 4: like on another level, like to play those mind games
- 31:57Speaker 4: and like in real life, it's just it's you know,
- 31:59Speaker 4: he's he brought back k Fabe for for his for
- 32:03Speaker 4: his for his interactions with the Punk, which is I
- 32:07Speaker 4: miss I miss k Fabe.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean to unlock your iPhone first. You need
- 32:12Speaker 1: to unlock your iPhone first.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Yeah, trying to trying to ignore this phone call, getting.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Is there I should say, is there was there a wrestler.
- 32:25Speaker 1: You really missed the most working in w W. That's
- 32:29Speaker 1: not longer, no longer with the company.
- 32:32Speaker 4: I mean I've always been a Curd Angle fan when
- 32:36Speaker 4: yeah left to when when he left to t n
- 32:39Speaker 4: A and became peak Angle because you know, he doesn't
- 32:43Speaker 4: want to be called the other that. Yeah, that was
- 32:48Speaker 4: a phenomenal run in t n A. Yeah, and I
- 32:53Speaker 4: wish we got a glimpse of that towards the end
- 32:55Speaker 4: of his career in w W. I mean, the reason
- 33:00Speaker 4: why he was able to do all that stuff was
- 33:02Speaker 4: because you know, after the interview, all the things that
- 33:04Speaker 4: he did, but it was it was great to see
- 33:11Speaker 4: Kurt Angle wrestle uh in A in his second prime,
- 33:15Speaker 4: I guess in DNA, which I wish, I wish we
- 33:17Speaker 4: would have got that in w W. Yeah, bad was
- 33:21Speaker 4: pretty cool. But then you know, he's an older guy,
- 33:23Speaker 4: age gets you. You know, he had what you get.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Yeah, if they do end up buying you know, TNA,
- 33:36Speaker 1: they will absorb that video library and then you know,
- 33:38Speaker 1: all that just to me, it's like just inserting this
- 33:42Speaker 1: huge chunk of history of like holy crap, like Kurd Angle,
- 33:46Speaker 1: like not just that, like kurtent Angle. You know AJ styles,
- 33:50Speaker 1: you early AJ styles.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Like your money, I mean the X Division matches.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Yeah, they like some of these guys like early team stuff.
- 34:00Speaker 1: It's pretty damn sick. And it's crazy to think. I
- 34:03Speaker 1: recall as like a teenager thinking that like ten A
- 34:06Speaker 1: is going to like close any day now, like right,
- 34:10Speaker 1: like teen A's got a fold any minute now, like
- 34:14Speaker 1: depending who's in charge of it this week? Uh, And
- 34:17Speaker 1: now they're doing better than ever, So that's awesome.
- 34:22Speaker 4: I think tn a's success was because they set the
- 34:24Speaker 4: bar so low that they just met expectations every week
- 34:28Speaker 4: according to you know, whatever whatever network they were on,
- 34:31Speaker 4: and he just kept the floating. It's good for them, man,
- 34:34Speaker 4: because you know, without that, without TNA, we really would
- 34:37Speaker 4: have gotten Ages Styles over and Bobby Rude over Next
- 34:40Speaker 4: Team and things like that. So they did they did
- 34:42Speaker 4: pretty well.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I mean I have to say, like, if there's anybody
- 34:46Speaker 1: I miss right now, probably in WW, I do miss
- 34:50Speaker 1: Chris Jericho in WW, I miss Edge in WW. You know,
- 35:00Speaker 1: maybe now that Triple H is in charge, I feel
- 35:03Speaker 1: like it could be different if Dan Ambrose, John Moxley
- 35:06Speaker 1: ever comes back.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Man.
- 35:09Speaker 1: It's just like a lot of these guys that yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Like a lot of these guys who are over there,
- 35:14Speaker 1: I feel like, uh, you know, another one is Sasha Banks.
- 35:19Speaker 1: I feel like there's so much meat left on the
- 35:21Speaker 1: bone for these people in their careers in w W.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It's like when their contracts end in AW, I'm always
- 35:27Speaker 1: like secretly like, oh, come on, Like, if you're gonna
- 35:30Speaker 1: wrap up your career like Jericho, if you're gonna wrap
- 35:33Speaker 1: up your career, like, can you do it in WW,
- 35:35Speaker 1: like let them send like you if you're gonna be
- 35:38Speaker 1: sent off properly, man like, let WW do it. Like
- 35:42Speaker 1: the same thing with Edge, Like I felt the same
- 35:44Speaker 1: way about ed It, just like, let WW do this,
- 35:46Speaker 1: send you off?
- 35:47Speaker 4: Like but yeah, I mean you you go back to
- 35:52Speaker 4: where you became, you know that person. You know, you're
- 35:57Speaker 4: Dean Ambrose, your Sasha Banks. Actually, some of these guys
- 36:02Speaker 4: that we're mentioning, they have their egos are too big,
- 36:04Speaker 4: you know, Like, yeahsh Banks, her ego is too big
- 36:07Speaker 4: to come back. Yeah, Dean Ambrose his his egos too
- 36:12Speaker 4: big to come back. And it's it's more of like,
- 36:14Speaker 4: you know, he wants his creative control, he wants to
- 36:16Speaker 4: do his own wrestling, and it's not it's not working
- 36:19Speaker 4: at a w and it's definitely not gonna work in WWE.
- 36:22Speaker 4: So so what do you so you Triple H doesn't
- 36:24Speaker 4: want that unfortunately. Will it make money, Yes, it will,
- 36:29Speaker 4: but it's it's more on Dean Ambrose's side or John
- 36:33Speaker 4: Montley's side at that point.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, it's just it's been so long since
- 36:41Speaker 1: a handful of those wrestlers have been back in the company,
- 36:43Speaker 1: and I just feel like so much has changed within
- 36:46Speaker 1: the past like two years.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Of course, everyone's happy.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody is happy.
- 36:53Speaker 4: That's that's what That's what they're That's what everyone says,
- 36:56Speaker 4: and the on the Twitter world is that everyone's happy
- 36:59Speaker 4: being back age.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that that I mean.
- 37:02Speaker 4: And that's just like any other job, you know, an
- 37:04Speaker 4: any job that you and I work at. If you're
- 37:06Speaker 4: not happier at job, you're a miserable life.
- 37:08Speaker 1: So yeah, should take this ship home.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Some people, Uh, what's the one thing you missed the
- 37:16Speaker 1: most in w W or I are maybe just in
- 37:19Speaker 1: pro wrestling in general.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Like the one thing that I miss the most, I
- 37:25Speaker 4: think I mentioned it's Kfabe. I wish I wish that
- 37:28Speaker 4: there was a way to kind of keep k fabe alive.
- 37:31Speaker 4: You know, similar wrestlers, like I mentioned Drew mcketizer. You know,
- 37:35Speaker 4: he's still he is known to be a very nice
- 37:40Speaker 4: and sweet guy, but in the Twitter world and in WWE,
- 37:45Speaker 4: he's just like this giant asshole. And I love it,
- 37:49Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, Like, yeah, it just works
- 37:51Speaker 4: so perfectly, and I wish I wish other wrestlers did that,
- 37:55Speaker 4: but a lot of times, and you know they are
- 37:57Speaker 4: you know, we have so much information in the palm
- 37:59Speaker 4: of our hands that you know, we're some of these
- 38:02Speaker 4: wrestlers are human. They want to react to some comments
- 38:05Speaker 4: or they want to react to some video they saw
- 38:07Speaker 4: on social media. So it kind of kills kay fame
- 38:09Speaker 4: in that point, and I missed that.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like I guess the dawn of social
- 38:14Speaker 1: media is what really killed it, because I remember as
- 38:19Speaker 1: a teenager like trying to get any kind of like
- 38:21Speaker 1: dirt sheet news. It was like maybe like a handful
- 38:25Speaker 1: of websites and like that was it. And I mean, yeah,
- 38:30Speaker 1: there's like that's why we get so many unique stories now,
- 38:34Speaker 1: because like they're just the Internet wasn't what it is
- 38:37Speaker 1: today to get those kind of in the moment stories
- 38:41Speaker 1: on the roads, stories and moments. Yeah, it does suck.
- 38:47Speaker 1: It does look like you're you're seeing everything transparent now.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Like you.
- 38:54Speaker 1: It is rough. Now that is kind of dead because
- 38:57Speaker 1: it's like, especially like the relationship ones, like what you
- 39:01Speaker 1: know when Dirty Dom obviously he has somebody in real life. Yeah,
- 39:05Speaker 1: he's you know, he's he has a wife. Ah, and
- 39:10Speaker 1: she's totally cool with what he does at work. Yeah,
- 39:13Speaker 1: lucky man.
- 39:15Speaker 4: It's I mean, it's it's like it's like being married
- 39:17Speaker 4: to an actress or an actor. You have some kissing
- 39:20Speaker 4: scenes with the person of the opposite sss or whatever,
- 39:23Speaker 4: and you know they just got to live with it.
- 39:26Speaker 4: But I mean, other thing, when when when we were
- 39:28Speaker 4: talking about this one thing because you guys mentioned this
- 39:30Speaker 4: on the on the show last week, because when Oscar
- 39:33Speaker 4: was announced, is I missed the the mysterious just wrestlers
- 39:39Speaker 4: coming back with no with no announcement like most Yeah,
- 39:45Speaker 4: oh man, dude, if if like I love Goldberg in
- 39:50Speaker 4: w W, yeah yeah, And if they would just not
- 39:56Speaker 4: announce him and he would just show up I would
- 39:59Speaker 4: still pop. If he just showed up without being announced
- 40:01Speaker 4: on you know this past Monday, I would have popped.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Because I just love surprises. It could be it could
- 40:08Speaker 4: be Santino Morello or someone. It could be Jeff Hardy,
- 40:10Speaker 4: who I despise as well, and I will still pop
- 40:13Speaker 4: because he's back. You know what I'm saying, Like I
- 40:15Speaker 4: missed the surprises.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true, being spoiled like days before the event.
- 40:26Speaker 4: You know.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Now it's just for them to sell more take its.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it does, which which doesn't make sense
- 40:34Speaker 4: because if you think about it, like wrestling, fans are
- 40:37Speaker 4: gonna go to your shows no matter what, because even
- 40:41Speaker 4: though you still have the you can still go to
- 40:45Speaker 4: a show and be surprised. I mean, we were all
- 40:46Speaker 4: surprised with Lunther being Jay, Like no one saw that.
- 40:50Speaker 4: I mean I kind of felt, you know, that he
- 40:53Speaker 4: was going to win it because they they they opened
- 40:59Speaker 4: a bunch of seats when when I was buying tickets
- 41:01Speaker 4: and I'm like, Okay, something BIG's happening. So I told
- 41:03Speaker 4: the kid, I was Roman's coming out or Goonther's winning
- 41:06Speaker 4: the title, because they just opened up like a thousand
- 41:10Speaker 4: more seats in the arena because they had covered like
- 41:12Speaker 4: a whole section off and then they just opened a
- 41:15Speaker 4: bunch of them more and I was like, something BIG's happening.
- 41:17Speaker 4: So you can still get surprised at some of the shows,
- 41:19Speaker 4: but you know, I still want that, you know, Oscar
- 41:22Speaker 4: coming back from injury surprised or or like in WrestleMania
- 41:25Speaker 4: where Becky Lynch came back, you know that was that
- 41:27Speaker 4: was pretty cool. Things like that I wish we had.
- 41:32Speaker 1: I also I missed the days where we didn't have
- 41:34Speaker 1: so much damn advertisement in the ring. Now we have
- 41:40Speaker 1: slipe in chairs and fireball ladders, prime stations.
- 41:50Speaker 5: For me.
- 41:50Speaker 4: I've I've I was disgruntled with it when it first
- 41:55Speaker 4: started happening, but I guess I'd made my piece because
- 41:58Speaker 4: there's no much No matter how much we piss and
- 42:01Speaker 4: moan about it, it's not going away. So I've I've
- 42:03Speaker 4: learned to make my peace with it and kind of
- 42:06Speaker 4: just ignore the logos. And I've definitely found myself enjoying
- 42:10Speaker 4: it better.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Right, Is there any like, what would you say it
- 42:17Speaker 1: was your favorite live event that you went to?
- 42:21Speaker 4: Ooh, I definitely would have to say WrestleMania in Vegas.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Oh shit, you went to one in Vegas? Like shit,
- 42:32Speaker 1: Oh did that's awesome?
- 42:33Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah? This this, no, this past, this, past a
- 42:35Speaker 4: few months ago.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Wow, oh that's awesome three months ago already. Yeah, I
- 42:40Speaker 1: mean yeah, wrestling wrestling time flies, Yeah, it does.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Yeah, because I'm thinking, like, was it forty one? Was
- 42:47Speaker 4: it forty I you know, and I can't remember what
- 42:49Speaker 4: it was, but yeah, yeah, yeah, wrestlming you're forty one
- 42:51Speaker 4: in Vegas?
- 42:52Speaker 1: Uh.
- 42:53Speaker 4: I wasn't planning on going. Yeah, Me and the boys
- 42:56Speaker 4: were thinking. Me and the boys were thinking about, you know,
- 42:58Speaker 4: saving up some money, and then we saw the ticket
- 43:00Speaker 4: prices were ridiculous and we're just like, you know what,
- 43:03Speaker 4: it doesn't make financial sense to go, especially Vegas being
- 43:06Speaker 4: so expensive. And my son, who's he's a he's a
- 43:13Speaker 4: avid wrestling fan. You know, he doesn't follow it, but
- 43:16Speaker 4: he'll watch it with me. And you know, we were
- 43:20Speaker 4: sitting down because he comes and visits me and here
- 43:22Speaker 4: in Mexico because he lives in Phoenix, Arizona, And I said,
- 43:26Speaker 4: what do you want to watch those on watch wrestling?
- 43:28Speaker 4: So I showed him the elimination chamber that the day
- 43:30Speaker 4: after it happened, and he's like, dad, he goes, no,
- 43:37Speaker 4: I was sorry. It was Monday night raw the promo
- 43:39Speaker 4: seeing the deliver on Monday Night Raw after Elimination Chamber,
- 43:42Speaker 4: and he told me, he goes, Dad, we gotta go
- 43:44Speaker 4: to WrestleMania, like we have to go see John Cena
- 43:47Speaker 4: before his last WrestleMania. So I'm thinking, like god damn it, Like,
- 43:51Speaker 4: oh man, I gotta figure out how I'm gonna get
- 43:53Speaker 4: these tickets. And yeah, I ended up going and it
- 43:56Speaker 4: was amazing because again I got to see wrestling with
- 43:59Speaker 4: my kid. You know, my dad was the one who
- 44:01Speaker 4: brought me to wrestling. I brought my kid. Got to
- 44:03Speaker 4: see seeing us potentially last WrestleMania or advertised last WrestleMania.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Got to see Stone Cold come out and crash before
- 44:13Speaker 4: he went up the ramp, which was amazing. Got to
- 44:16Speaker 4: see Joe Henry. It was it was. It was just
- 44:19Speaker 4: a phenomenon.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Mo, Yeah, it's awesome. We yeah, we want to wrestle
- 44:23Speaker 1: at a forty in Philly. Yes, definitely, like bucket list,
- 44:30Speaker 1: greatest wrestling weekend of my life. Like I got to
- 44:33Speaker 1: go with my best friends, I got to go people
- 44:36Speaker 1: from the podcast. You know, I never thought that it
- 44:39Speaker 1: would actually happen, like you always dream about it as
- 44:42Speaker 1: a kid. You're like, man, it'd be so cool to
- 44:44Speaker 1: go like to a WrestleMania and then when you actually
- 44:47Speaker 1: purchased the tickets and you get there and you're standing
- 44:49Speaker 1: in that arena and you're just like holy shit, like
- 44:51Speaker 1: I am here, like we did it, like now, like
- 44:55Speaker 1: I'm in the book the history books, like I'm part
- 44:57Speaker 1: of the numbers here, Like I can go back anytime
- 45:01Speaker 1: and watch this and relive this moment because I did it,
- 45:06Speaker 1: Like yeah, yeah, I went back in. I was a
- 45:09Speaker 1: motorcycle going by my house, of course, very loud. I
- 45:13Speaker 1: was like, you know, I went to go watch as
- 45:17Speaker 1: soon as it was over because I experienced it vastly different,
- 45:21Speaker 1: you know, watching it, I was like, oh, yeah, well
- 45:22Speaker 1: I missed this match because I was in line for
- 45:25Speaker 1: an hour and a half trying to get a fifteen
- 45:26Speaker 1: dollars soda, Like yeah, but I always I'll always remember though. Yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 1: And I've been to like a bunch of rawls, a
- 45:35Speaker 1: bunch of smackdowns. I've been to any extreme rules, pay
- 45:41Speaker 1: per view royal rumbles. I want to do now. I mean,
- 45:48Speaker 1: now we're getting these two night summer slams Now. I's
- 45:50Speaker 1: like I feel like I I want to be a
- 45:52Speaker 1: part of that now too.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Where in the East coast. Are you guys located.
- 45:57Speaker 1: I'm in Pennsylvania. I'm Bill lives in Philly, and I'm
- 46:01Speaker 1: about an hour from Philly, and I believe Dre's down
- 46:05Speaker 1: in Virginia.
- 46:06Speaker 4: So oh okay, so yeah, when I one of the
- 46:11Speaker 4: things that we've been doing for for our podcast is
- 46:13Speaker 4: me and me and Nate, my one of our co hosts,
- 46:16Speaker 4: we've been we've been meeting up at for Royal Rumbles.
- 46:19Speaker 4: So we went to the first road rumble we went
- 46:22Speaker 4: to together was the San Antonio one where Cody won. Okay,
- 46:26Speaker 4: and I had the brilliant idea since it was in Texas,
- 46:29Speaker 4: to dress up as cowboys and attend the Roy Rumble.
- 46:34Speaker 4: That's a big, big mistake because we looked like idiots.
- 46:37Speaker 4: I came to find out that nobody in San Antonio
- 46:39Speaker 4: dresses up boys, because that's more in the Dallas fourth
- 46:42Speaker 4: worst side that dresses up at cowboys. So we were
- 46:45Speaker 4: sticking out like sore thumbs. So we were like, you
- 46:47Speaker 4: know what, let's just watch. Let's just try to meet
- 46:50Speaker 4: up for us for Roy Rumbo every year. So these
- 46:52Speaker 4: last two roy Rumbles, we've been meeting up he because
- 46:55Speaker 4: he's he lives in Delaware. So you know, I land
- 46:58Speaker 4: in Philly when I go down there, and I got
- 47:00Speaker 4: to see Philly and got to eat a cheese steak
- 47:03Speaker 4: out there, and then just go to Delaware and watch
- 47:04Speaker 4: World Rumble with the boys.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Amaze, look at that, Like you'll be close to me
- 47:10Speaker 1: and Doyle man like, yeah, you have a big wrestling party.
- 47:15Speaker 4: Oh yeah, now that now that I know this, man
- 47:17Speaker 4: like this, don't like if I when I go down there,
- 47:20Speaker 4: because I do plan again, uh that I'll definitely definitely
- 47:24Speaker 4: want to meet up with you guys because this year
- 47:26Speaker 4: for this Roy Rumble, they're actually coming down to Mexico
- 47:29Speaker 4: to watch the Roll Rumble here in my house.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Whoa, that's awesome.
- 47:33Speaker 4: Yeah, international travel boys.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's what's great about wrestling, man, there's just
- 47:38Speaker 1: fans all over the world. It's not just in the
- 47:41Speaker 1: United States. You know, like we we even for this podcast,
- 47:45Speaker 1: I see we get downloads from other countries, which is
- 47:48Speaker 1: kind of cool. Yeah, well you get a couple of
- 47:51Speaker 1: downloads when I go to Saudi. Uh, I was not surprised.
- 47:56Speaker 1: As much ship as I give them, I still got
- 47:58Speaker 1: a couple of downloads over there.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Hey, man, if they if like the way I see
- 48:03Speaker 4: it is if you're willing to hear us for a
- 48:04Speaker 4: few minutes, like, give us a try for a few minutes,
- 48:07Speaker 4: and if you like us, excellent, If you don't, you know,
- 48:09Speaker 4: thank you for listening. That's all trying to keep optimistic
- 48:13Speaker 4: on that end.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Oh absolutely, Like I know, uh, you know, I I
- 48:18Speaker 1: know we would probably get more listeners if we were
- 48:21Speaker 1: weren't explicit, and uh, you know, but I.
- 48:26Speaker 4: Fuck it. That's you know, that's that's the scenario we
- 48:29Speaker 4: find ourselves in because in our in our show, we
- 48:32Speaker 4: were we're very explicit. Yeah, I mean, it gets it
- 48:38Speaker 4: gets to a point where we're like, oh.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Man, I should yeah, I mean, like our soundboard alone
- 48:43Speaker 1: is just here, here you go, but.
- 48:46Speaker 3: You're also a piece of ship.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Go man yourself, fuck yourself. Yeah, yeah we haven't. My
- 48:55Speaker 1: my mother knew what my soundboard was being used for.
- 49:00Speaker 1: She would kill me. Is this what you do with
- 49:04Speaker 1: your free time? You just sit on the internet and
- 49:07Speaker 1: you curse? Yep. Yeah, that's why I know for sure.
- 49:12Speaker 1: I never let my I know, some family members listen
- 49:15Speaker 1: to my show, but I always said, don't let my
- 49:19Speaker 1: mom or my grandmother ever listen, you know. Yeah, that's
- 49:24Speaker 1: pretty much it.
- 49:26Speaker 4: It's funny you say that because you know we we
- 49:29Speaker 4: do our show on YouTube, because we do, we do
- 49:31Speaker 4: a video recording, i'd say, yeah, and YouTube translates to
- 49:36Speaker 4: whatever language you want. So my mom actually got a
- 49:39Speaker 4: glimpse of what we do in the show, and she's like,
- 49:42Speaker 4: I can't believe you say half the things you say there. Yeah, right,
- 49:46Speaker 4: like like I'm just being myself and she goes, I know,
- 49:49Speaker 4: she goes, don't do that, You're gonna get in trouble.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Well yeah, yeah, Well still I'm on episode eighty seven
- 49:58Speaker 1: and we're still going strong. Nobody is like, you know,
- 50:01Speaker 1: kicked us out yet. We haven't been canceled yet.
- 50:04Speaker 4: I do know. I do have.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Very small, very very tiny handful of small listeners. I
- 50:15Speaker 1: there's some of my friends. They are their kids. They
- 50:17Speaker 1: are like wrestling. They're like, you have a podcast. I'm like, yeah,
- 50:20Speaker 1: I do, Like I want to listen, Like yeah, fuck, okay,
- 50:24Speaker 1: Well that's go for it, man, Like I don't push
- 50:28Speaker 1: it too We don't push the bar too far like
- 50:30Speaker 1: some other wrestling podcasts that I know.
- 50:32Speaker 4: Yeah, but uh, here, I think what I here's for.
- 50:36Speaker 4: This is my take on on on on this because
- 50:38Speaker 4: I have I have an eighteen year old now, and
- 50:42Speaker 4: I always told my son, like, look, I curse a lot,
- 50:45Speaker 4: because I can tell you, I can not curse in
- 50:49Speaker 4: front of you. The problem is is that the world
- 50:51Speaker 4: doesn't care if I curse or not. So you're gonna
- 50:54Speaker 4: go out there and listen to people curse, and I
- 50:55Speaker 4: don't want you shocked by that. So I'm going to
- 50:57Speaker 4: curse that way. It doesn't affect you. When you hear
- 51:00Speaker 4: someone curse her and say.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Anything bad, that's good.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Listen to it, like good for them. But I'm sure
- 51:08Speaker 4: they hear the worst things at school.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Mm hmm. That's that's so true.
- 51:16Speaker 4: So I do try to keep it, you know, we
- 51:19Speaker 4: try to tone it down or when whenever we're we're
- 51:23Speaker 4: visiting other podcasts, but like you come to you come
- 51:25Speaker 4: to our show and it's it's there's no no holds
- 51:29Speaker 4: bar there. It's unsanctioned. As a wrestling term raw and uncut.
- 51:36Speaker 1: It's raw. So have you met any like like professional wrestlers, Like,
- 51:42Speaker 1: is there like ones that you that you were you
- 51:45Speaker 1: know that really stick out.
- 51:49Speaker 4: No, I'm not really big on meeting people like famous
- 51:53Speaker 4: people or wrestlers, So I don't really go out of
- 51:55Speaker 4: my way to to meet anybody. I've seen wrestler like
- 52:00Speaker 4: out and about, and yeah, I'll just you know, scare
- 52:03Speaker 4: of them in kind of like a wave or something
- 52:04Speaker 4: like that. But Ria Ripley was one. Penta was one
- 52:09Speaker 4: out here in Phoenix because there's a there's there was
- 52:11Speaker 4: a taco shop called Mascadores and it was basically a
- 52:14Speaker 4: tribute taco shop to Penta when he was Pentagon in
- 52:19Speaker 4: Triple A. So he was he was, he was there
- 52:23Speaker 4: at that at that location. And you know, it's one
- 52:25Speaker 4: of the reasons why I've always been such a Penta fan,
- 52:27Speaker 4: because I've seen him before he was even Penta, even
- 52:32Speaker 4: before he was even Pentagon like. So it's it's one
- 52:36Speaker 4: of those things where he's a wrestler that you know,
- 52:39Speaker 4: we hold here because he he basically came from nothing
- 52:42Speaker 4: and and we see him everywhere now, which is great.
- 52:45Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't I don't really go out of
- 52:47Speaker 4: my way to see or get autographs and things like
- 52:49Speaker 4: their pictures with people.
- 52:50Speaker 1: I'm the same way. I don't know why, uh, even
- 52:55Speaker 1: with it if it was an actor, I'm just not
- 52:57Speaker 1: the same way I act. Yeah, you know, but I
- 53:00Speaker 1: do have some. I but like I think the one
- 53:03Speaker 1: that I only stood in line for when I was
- 53:05Speaker 1: young though, like I stood in line for like Sean
- 53:07Speaker 1: Michaels at my arena.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Oh nice, So I have that.
- 53:11Speaker 1: And Chelsea Green sent me something, uh when she had
- 53:15Speaker 1: her podcast, I wrote into our show. She sent me
- 53:18Speaker 1: an autograph photo and then I do have yeah, yeah,
- 53:22Speaker 1: and I do have a a Hooters menu signed by
- 53:27Speaker 1: Edge Bautista and the coach. Yeah, they were all they
- 53:32Speaker 1: were all out of Hooters one time, me and Buddy Ron,
- 53:37Speaker 1: a listener to the show. I think we were like
- 53:39Speaker 1: we had to be like fifteen or something. We were
- 53:42Speaker 1: looking for wrestlers after the show, like where do you
- 53:45Speaker 1: think they would go? And I'm like, probably Hooters, Like really,
- 53:50Speaker 1: like yeah, there's nobody in there. It's like late as
- 53:53Speaker 1: how we go in there and then they are man
- 53:56Speaker 1: sitting like a couple of tables away, and I was like, Okay,
- 53:58Speaker 1: don't put us too close. I don't want to sit
- 54:01Speaker 1: too close to them because I don't want to freak out.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I don't want to see. Yeah, And like I was
- 54:07Speaker 1: in the I was in the bathroom. I got of
- 54:10Speaker 1: pot to the bathroom and this is like an older hooter.
- 54:13Speaker 1: So like the bathroom was like really small, like one
- 54:16Speaker 1: stall to piss in, one one to you know, but
- 54:19Speaker 1: like there's those two stalls. I'm in there taking a
- 54:22Speaker 1: taking a whiz. Dave Bautista comes in, right, and this man,
- 54:28Speaker 1: I'm fifteen years old, right, so I'm scrawny, little fifteen
- 54:32Speaker 1: year old. This guy, this is Bautista, evolution Batista, three
- 54:36Speaker 1: hundred pound jack. This this was peak Bautista. Sure, yeah,
- 54:41Speaker 1: the monster dude. And he's in there. And I went
- 54:45Speaker 1: and you know, I went to wash. I was washing
- 54:47Speaker 1: my hands. He went and used the journal and I
- 54:50Speaker 1: used the last of the paper towels. And then I
- 54:53Speaker 1: was like, oh no, I like, did that thing where
- 54:55Speaker 1: you put your hand up in the thing. He's like,
- 54:57Speaker 1: oh that that's it. And then he goes over he
- 55:00Speaker 1: was washing his hands. He shakes his hands. He's like,
- 55:03Speaker 1: there's no goddamn payp of tels. I was like, oh god,
- 55:06Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I was like, yeah, you can use
- 55:11Speaker 1: my shirt. I was so quick to be like just
- 55:15Speaker 1: I had a wrestling shirt on too. I swear to god,
- 55:17Speaker 1: I had a wrestling shirt. This had to be two
- 55:20Speaker 1: thousand and four because I think I had like a
- 55:23Speaker 1: Royal Rumble t shirt on because yeah, two thousand and
- 55:28Speaker 1: four when Ben Wat won the Rumble, because we went
- 55:31Speaker 1: to Philly to see it. But yeah, like I remember
- 55:33Speaker 1: having a shirt like he knew exactly who the hell
- 55:35Speaker 1: I was, Like I was a fan, he knew, and
- 55:37Speaker 1: I was just like, take my shirt, you know, And
- 55:40Speaker 1: then he just did the whole hand wiping him on
- 55:43Speaker 1: his pants and walked out. And then I had the
- 55:45Speaker 1: audacity to ask for an autograph after that.
- 55:49Speaker 4: Oh my god, that's hilarious. That's awesome though. Yeah, yeah, ye,
- 55:53Speaker 4: just like I love hearing stories like that. I could
- 55:56Speaker 4: never go up to anyone famous and as autograph. I'm
- 55:59Speaker 4: too too shy in that regard.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like you don't know, like what kind
- 56:04Speaker 1: of people they are, Like what you know, what you right?
- 56:07Speaker 4: It?
- 56:07Speaker 1: Man, Like everybody's a human. You don't know what kind
- 56:09Speaker 1: of day they've been having. They could be going through
- 56:12Speaker 1: some personal shit or you know, they could just be
- 56:15Speaker 1: having one of those days where there's like, sure, I'll
- 56:17Speaker 1: sign all thirty of your things at the airport, you know,
- 56:21Speaker 1: so you can immediately put them on eBay.
- 56:23Speaker 4: God that bothers me so much.
- 56:25Speaker 1: But I yeah, I am not that guy. Like I
- 56:28Speaker 1: will ask you maybe autograph one thing just because that
- 56:32Speaker 1: or just a picture right now. It's pictures, it's not
- 56:35Speaker 1: I don't need any autographs. Like if you want, if
- 56:37Speaker 1: I can get a picture with you, that's it. But yeah,
- 56:42Speaker 1: some of these people, I see it, dude, they go
- 56:44Speaker 1: to the airport, they have a brave my stereo like
- 56:47Speaker 1: and Jeff Hardy like you know, it's like thirty things
- 56:50Speaker 1: sign all of this crap. For me, it's like, dude,
- 56:52Speaker 1: are you serious right now?
- 56:55Speaker 4: Yeah, some people are just they're just no self awareness
- 56:58Speaker 4: and I hate it.
- 56:59Speaker 1: No, And you know what, it's not even like I
- 57:04Speaker 1: feel like they're not hardcore fans. I just feel like
- 57:06Speaker 1: they're just trying to.
- 57:07Speaker 4: Make a buck, sure, you know, but like I don't know,
- 57:11Speaker 4: I was.
- 57:12Speaker 1: I was never like that. Like when I have my autographs,
- 57:14Speaker 1: I never once ever thought about selling them because it
- 57:18Speaker 1: was the moment that how I got them, Like it's unique.
- 57:22Speaker 1: So to to somebody else that's probably not worth anything,
- 57:25Speaker 1: but to me, that's worth a lot more than money.
- 57:27Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, there is one I can't I can't remember who,
- 57:32Speaker 4: but there is one wrestler who only does autographs for charity. Okay,
- 57:36Speaker 4: I want to see it. I can't remember if it's
- 57:38Speaker 4: seeing Punk or or Rain thestereo after that incident he had,
- 57:43Speaker 4: I could see it's a it's a pretty big wrestler
- 57:46Speaker 4: that It's like, you know, he just won't do uh
- 57:49Speaker 4: signatures for anybody anymore unless charity rights.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Like yeah, absolutely, So in your closet, how many wrestling
- 58:02Speaker 1: shirts do you have? And who do you have the
- 58:05Speaker 1: most of?
- 58:07Speaker 6: Zero?
- 58:08Speaker 4: Zero wrestling shirts?
- 58:11Speaker 1: What the fuck? That's that's crazy?
- 58:14Speaker 4: Oh no, no, no, no, no no, I take it back,
- 58:16Speaker 4: take it back to back. I have one wrestling shirt
- 58:19Speaker 4: and it's a Brett Hard shirt that I bought in
- 58:22Speaker 4: Delaware that came with the Brett Hart glasses and that
- 58:26Speaker 4: and I just bought that this past year.
- 58:29Speaker 1: So like, what do you wear then when you go
- 58:32Speaker 1: to a wrestling event? Like what did normal people wear? Just?
- 58:38Speaker 4: I just wear a regular T shirt? So so really
- 58:40Speaker 4: like something funny or or I don't know. Sometimes I
- 58:44Speaker 4: get off of work and I mean slacks in a
- 58:47Speaker 4: longsley shirt like a dork.
- 58:49Speaker 1: So like I was gonna say, what's the reason, Like
- 58:51Speaker 1: you're not a wrestling shirt guy? Uh?
- 58:55Speaker 4: I lost a lot of weight and I have to
- 58:59Speaker 4: buy new shirts. And I didn't buy them because they
- 59:02Speaker 4: were you know, I was a big guy and they
- 59:03Speaker 4: were too expensive for big guys, and then I all
- 59:05Speaker 4: lost weight. Like I feel like I missed the train.
- 59:08Speaker 4: I'm buying wrestling shirts now, so I just I just
- 59:11Speaker 4: never did I buy shirts from my friends, like I'll
- 59:16Speaker 4: like my you know, one of the guys loved the
- 59:19Speaker 4: Grand Americano shirt and I was like, hey, I'll buy
- 59:21Speaker 4: you the shirt. So what's your address. I'll send you
- 59:23Speaker 4: the shirt and there you go. I mean, I bought
- 59:25Speaker 4: wrestling shirts just not yeah, I mean like.
- 59:30Speaker 1: I, oh god, I had this ridiculous amount. But I
- 59:34Speaker 1: haven't bought a lot of new ones now. When I
- 59:37Speaker 1: was younger, I acquired a lot. And it's funny because
- 59:41Speaker 1: like as much shit as I gave him during his
- 59:44Speaker 1: like Super Sena run, I have a lot of John
- 59:47Speaker 1: Sena shirts. I don't know how the hell that happens.
- 59:50Speaker 1: It's just like, oh my god, like why do I
- 59:52Speaker 1: have like ten It was like a bowl of fruity
- 59:54Speaker 1: pebbles in my damn closet. I think, like the old
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: this shirt that I have is probably a DX it's
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: probably the oldest shirt I have is a DX shirt.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: The newest shirt that I have is probably a Roman
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Arrange shirt.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: The OTC like the Tribal Chief shirt.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Or like no, it's a acknowledged me shirt. So yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: it's a good one. Like the thing is like when
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I go, I either they either don't have my damn
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: size or they're just they're ridiculously priced. When we were
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: in Philly for WrestleMania, I just wanted like a Philly
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: three sixteen shirt and they were like forty five bucks,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: and I was like what the fuck. I was like,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I'm better off designing the shirt myself and putting on
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: our store on Pro Wrestling t's and just buying it
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: off of myself, Like like I better off that. Yeah,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: it's ridiculous, it's Philly, It's not not even it's because
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: I know WW makes a shitload of money or not
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: shitload money off of it, but like stone Cold Steve
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Boston makes still a shitload of money off of merch
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: by going to every town and putting Philly three sixteen
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Chicago three sixteen, Like that man is still in the
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: top ten of merchandise sales, and that man has been
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: retired for quite some time.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: Yep, but genius. The only shirt that I ever wanted
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: to buy was the black John Cena shirt at WrestleMania,
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: and they were sold out.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Yeah that's like legit.
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: That's like the legit the only one that I've been like,
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: oh and buy it right now, and they did. I buy.
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: I buy my kids shirt. I mean my kid wanted
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: the Pinter shirt. We got on the Penta shirt. Uh huh,
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: all the old aj styles merch like I used to
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: get it from my kid. Like I like I've bought merchandise.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Just Yeah. It's funny because like sometimes the shirts are
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: almost had that feeling of like a jersey of like yep, yeah,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: of you're representing your favorite wrestler, and like it would
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: be from a gimmick that they had like ten years ago,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: or like you know, like I would wear like old
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Randy Orton shirts. I have tons of them. I have
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: tons of old RKO Legend Killer shirts. You know, Like
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: sometimes I like wearing the throwback shirts.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: But yeah, like I get a you hit a round
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: in the head, what it is, It's like a jersey.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Exactly exactly, Because like my shirts, my wrestling shirts are
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: like precious to me, Like I have them. I've had
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: some of them since I was a teenager. That yeah,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: it's very small, handful still fit me, but like I
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: don't want to get rid of them because you know,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: like my girlfriend will probably end up wearing them or something.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: But like it, she's like, can I wear this old
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: wrestling shirt? I'm like, yes, but be very careful. It's
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: just like it's too small.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: We could wear it, you know what, don't wear anymore?
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: Yeah, like maybe I shouldn't be eating pasta and sauce
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: when you're wearing a classic you know is Latola Rock
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: and Roller Chris Jericho Chick Magnet shirt, Like that's a
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: good shirt.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: Now you're just following her everywhere around make sure she
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: does not.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, And I know some of my wrestling shirts
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: have like they have some holes in them and then
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: there are some stains and like I remember how I
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: got them because I got them at like this wrestling event,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: because that's when I would wear them. Really, it's like
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I used to wear them all the time. But then
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: like I started like like, oh I got these things
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: are going to break down and fall apart, Like I
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: gotta start like wearing them only at wrestling events, so.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: I don't like your Sunday your Sunday church clothes.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I definitely want to get my hands on some
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: seampunk shirts. I want the even though it's old, I
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: want like a hell Froze over shirt. I still think
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: that was a great shirt. You know, I have been
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: just a stampunk fan through and through, so I'm like,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: it's time for me to finally get a stampunk shirt.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: And I think it's also time for me to get
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: like a Seth Rollins shirt, Like I don't have a
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Seth Rolland shirt. So yeah, is there any like wrestling
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: memorability that you collect at all? Like, are you like
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: an action figure?
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: Guy?
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: DVDs?
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: Still the only thing that the only thing that I
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: have in my room is and it's and it's only
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: because I bought him for my son, but that I
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: brought them over because I wanted to hang them on
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: my podcast. Is I bought like my son the twenty
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: dollars REPI good titles okay, cool, like those cheap the
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: sheep plastic ones, and then I have those hanging on
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: my wall like I have the the Old Heavyweight, the
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: ww Championship, the the White Intercontinental Championship in the US
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: title like hanging.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: When I was a teenager, I used to have those
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: toy belts because we used to do backyard wrestling, and
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: I think back then the belts were better. Back then,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: the toys, the jacks belts, Yeah, the quality was better.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: They were the leather, well not leather, but the plether
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: or whatever it was. It wasn't flimsy like it is today.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Like it was so much better. And I literally yeah,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: the belcrow was good. Like it was crazy as I
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: had probably close to twenty to twenty five belts I
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: had because we had all the tag team ones. This
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: is ruthless Digression era, so we're talking like tag team
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: titles for Raw and SmackDown, Intercontinental, United States ECW title,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Cruiserweight Division, and then we also got the older ones.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: We had like the light Heavyweight, the old Raw, the
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: old WW tag titles like you name it, dude, Hardcore,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: the old World title, the Spinning Belt, the Spinning the
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: United States titles. So like whenever we backyard wrestling, it's
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: like we always had these titles that people could have
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: and take home and then bring them back if you'
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: you know, when you lose. But it was always fun.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: So you single handedly kept ww to float with all
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: that stuff you bought.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, definitely. And I remember when I sold them
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: all because I sold them to a guy who's like,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: my kid's gonna love this, because I was like, yeah,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: it's time I, you know, get a real one. Yeah,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: so exactly. So I was like, man, he's doing a
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: good condition. I'm like, this kid's gonna freaking love this.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: He's like yeah. I had like a huge duffel bag
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: of them all, Like it was crazy getting rid of
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: them all. But I was like, I know who they
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: were going to, and I was like, man, the kid's
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: gonna enjoy it.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: Yeah, dude, Like I do want to buy a an
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: nWo World Heavyweight belt, like an actual one.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: I just sometimes I get too cheap to cough up
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: the money, but I will eventually.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: That's yeah.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: Well.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Now it's like when I was that wrestling at the
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Convention Center, they had like the display cases, well the belts,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: and it's insane. Now what belts. You can get customized
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: belts you, I mean, you get one for the podcast,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: even like with your logo on it. Like I had
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: a fantasy wrestling league for a while, before I closed
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: it down. We have an actual title. We used to
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: like have a fan We used to have a fantasy
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: league for wrestling, and then we would just if you
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: would lose, you gave up that title. But like we
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: lived close enough that we could hand it off to
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: each other. But yeah, like I do miss that. So
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: like now that title's retired, it's like hanging in my office.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: But I want I would like the old style World
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Heavyweight title, the old Big Gold title. I always liked
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: that one. Yeah, yeah, I like that one. And I
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: was also keen to the when and they merged the
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: WWF and World title into the undisputed title that Triple
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: h Hulkogan Taker had, the one that John Cena eventually
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: turned into the Spinning title. I also kind of like
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: that design too. But I know for a fact, once
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I buy one, I'm gonna want another one, another one.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: And it's addicting.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: It is addicting, dude, Like it is. There's there is
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: wrestling memorabilia that people collect that is addicting. I know
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Doyle and Dre like getting autographs and pictures, and you know,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: I we had a guy on here before who like
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: collecting action figures like a lot of action figures. So yeah,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: I think that's awesome, like even that we have so
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: much merch that you can put even weird fucking merch,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Like you can go on shop Zone and dig deep
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: on like a late night Friday and night, just dig
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: deep into the shop Zone and you're gonna be checking
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: out with with Mick Foley sandals and like a Slurpye
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: cup with a like they had like a stone cold
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Steve Boston head and like a cane mask. Like it's
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: crazy the crap you can leave shop Zone.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: With, Yeah, by buying a Super Year Cup from like Topeka,
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: Kansas raw and ninety seven or something like that.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly exactly.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: It's crazy how it's crazy that you can find anything now.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Yeah, So you guys planning on recording anything anytime soon? Like,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: did you guys have any upcoming episodes you want to
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: you want to like let the listeners hear now about.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: Well, we're currently working on on getting getting another platform
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: to do our our show on because we were using
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: one and it got super expensive to use it, and
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: you know, we thought of we started, we tried using
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: one of the free ones and it didn't So we're
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: working on trying to find a new one. But we
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: want we would definitely want to go back to going
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: onto our weekly shows because, like I said, we do
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: we do the recaps, we do the UFC, we do
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: UFC Prediction. We talk about football, we talk about baseball,
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: We talk about current events. I mean, our last episode
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: that we did, we did a draft for you know gorillas.
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: You know how many there was that viral thing where
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: you know what, one hundred people versus a gorilla. So
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: we draft our top ten best people to go against
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: the gorilla. So yeah, we try to do anything wrestling.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: We have ideas. They shoot us a DM or a
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: text and hey, I want to talk about this. You
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: know if we if we find it that we can
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: make you know, jokes out of it and find some
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: humor and we can stretch it out for a while.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: We'll talk. We talked about we talked We talked about
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: one day, how how yeah good fit like it is
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: anything anything that pops into our head. We just mostly
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: our show is anything that we just want to talk about.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: We talked about it.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I I thought about the the uh,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: the bracket of maybe like well we'll pick ten ten
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: of your best wrestlers. You're coming to the table with
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: uh to go against a gorilla. I always thought that
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: would be a funny bracket to do.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and then and you can and you can
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: actually get chet GPT to analyze and do a probability
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: to show you who's who's who's uh who who when?
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: So that's crazy you can do that now. I love it,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: like what wrestlers in their prime? And it's like I
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: thought about it too, like, okay, what wrestlers in their prime?
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: When I picked to be on my team to fight
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: against this gorilla? Like, I mean, we can get pretty deep.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: But uh yeah, dude, like I I think it'd be
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: great to have you back on we I know we're doing, God,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: what is our Night of Champions? Is our next pl e?
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: And then I think we have a Saturday night main
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: event but we might not cover that. We'll see, So yeah,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: I'd like to go on maybe like the Night Champions show.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: I know your time zone is a little different than ours.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: That might be the only who knows, maybe the only
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: thing that might tie us up here. I know that's
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: always an issue with people when they live far away.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: It's the time zone.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: I'm usually I'm usually pretty free. Like, yeah, I'm that
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: person where if you tell me, like, hey, let's meet
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: up for X y Z time, I will make myself available.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and I definitely like I just like that, definitely
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: want to collab with your you guys over there at
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: the Sofa Kings.

- 1:12:56Speaker 1: in with some wrestling over there with you guys. Pick
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: your brands. But is there anything else? Do you want
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: to plug before you leave? Uh?
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: Not really? I mean, I mean I have my social
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: media so you can follow up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, thanks

- 1:13:55Speaker 1: the pay per view without spoiling for people. Yeah, pretty simple.
