- 0:21Speaker 3: You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
- 0:25Speaker 1: A big day in South Florida sports, A big day
- 0:27Speaker 1: for our friend Israel Gudiirez is Me and Taylor as
- 0:31Speaker 1: Nick fansit back and watch what the rest of the
- 0:33Speaker 1: NBA is doing to catch up with the world champion
- 0:36Speaker 1: New York Nicks. Taylor, how are you feeling today? Want
- 0:40Speaker 1: You're enjoying watching the other team scramble to play catch
- 0:42Speaker 1: up with us.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's nice.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Right when you said there was a big story, I
- 0:45Speaker 4: thought you met mo dio Wara coming back to the
- 0:47Speaker 4: next big deal getting him back was a restrictive free agent.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Really need that debt piece.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Yes, Wyndham Clark, two time US Open champion, get to
- 0:56Speaker 1: join us at about fifteen minutes, very much looking forward
- 0:58Speaker 1: to that. I am all over this World Cup. I
- 1:01Speaker 1: had Portugal they went five to nothing. I had a
- 1:04Speaker 1: minus two and a half goals and I had Ronaldo
- 1:07Speaker 1: to score an any time goal.
- 1:08Speaker 2: How about that?
- 1:09Speaker 5: You are on fire?
- 1:10Speaker 1: And now I'm heavy heavy on Harry Kane in the
- 1:13Speaker 1: next match, Haddy Kaine. God, I love soccer, is he?
- 1:16Speaker 1: This is a big day you wanted, Yannis, you got Yannis.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I can't believe I woke up this morning and Yannis
- 1:21Speaker 1: chose well, Milwaukee chose Miami's package of players of stuff
- 1:26Speaker 1: as opposed to what Boston was offering. The other thing
- 1:28Speaker 1: that amazed me about all of this is Boston as
- 1:32Speaker 1: they are presently presently put together, are the favorites to
- 1:37Speaker 1: make it out of the Eastern Conference.
- 1:40Speaker 2: On all the sports books right now.
- 1:42Speaker 1: But is he your thoughts on Giannis now a member
- 1:45Speaker 1: of the Miaha man?
- 1:46Speaker 5: What are times?
- 1:47Speaker 6: Do you know what I kind of knew about? It
- 1:49Speaker 6: was yesterday, it says here twenty one hours ago, so
- 1:51Speaker 6: figure out whatever that time that was where Yannis put
- 1:55Speaker 6: out a post on Instagram where he said, God, I
- 1:58Speaker 6: trusted you at the beginning and I will continue to
- 2:00Speaker 6: trust you throughout. And its prayer hands and the one
- 2:03Speaker 6: hundred emoji and to me that felt like a Heat
- 2:06Speaker 6: message Rnson.
- 2:08Speaker 2: I mean.
- 2:11Speaker 6: To me, I don't think he's putting that out there
- 2:13Speaker 6: if he's got to go spend all his winters in
- 2:14Speaker 6: Boston for the next five or six years. And so
- 2:17Speaker 6: I was like, you know what, this feels like a
- 2:18Speaker 6: Miami Heat announcement coming.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Up, but it is.
- 2:22Speaker 6: It is interesting Stude to watch and listen all the reactions.
- 2:25Speaker 6: I'm glad we had a little time to sort of
- 2:28Speaker 6: soak it all in because it feels like people are
- 2:31Speaker 6: just dismissing what kind of move this is. Because let
- 2:35Speaker 6: me just say this, this is the second most accomplished
- 2:39Speaker 6: player that the Miami Heat have acquired, right, other than Shack.
- 2:44Speaker 5: That means more than Lebron James.
- 2:46Speaker 6: You remember Lebron James came here with a couple MVPs
- 2:49Speaker 6: but no championships.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yes, Giannis comes here with I think two mvpsp and
- 2:53Speaker 1: a title and a.
- 2:54Speaker 6: Title and a deepoy And so when you talk about
- 2:56Speaker 6: accomplished players like he knows how to win, and so yeah,
- 3:01Speaker 6: you pair him with anybody that's an All Star. But
- 3:04Speaker 6: with Bam out of Bayo, you're talking about a guy
- 3:06Speaker 6: in Yannis who the last three years has averaged thirty
- 3:10Speaker 6: points a game, and those weren't his MVP seasons.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Correct.
- 3:14Speaker 6: Okay, so the idea that people are just pooh poohing
- 3:17Speaker 6: or dismissing, Yanni says, oh, in addition to that's going
- 3:19Speaker 6: to make them a decent team. No, they're going to
- 3:22Speaker 6: be a great regular season team. We haven't even seen
- 3:25Speaker 6: what the roster looks like. If we think that pat
- 3:28Speaker 6: Riley is sitting there saying, hey, I got this whale.
- 3:30Speaker 6: We're done with transactions, he's.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Just getting started. Of course he is.
- 3:35Speaker 5: You know, he's got Lebron on the phone.
- 3:37Speaker 6: You know, he's got other people discussing, Hey, do you
- 3:40Speaker 6: want to come over here? Klay Thompson a four time
- 3:42Speaker 6: champion as all of a sudden, somebody that you think
- 3:44Speaker 6: of when you need spacers and shooters. So, yes, the
- 3:48Speaker 6: Yannis acquisition is absolutely huge, and in terms of what
- 3:53Speaker 6: Miami can do next year, when you say, hey, are
- 3:56Speaker 6: they contenders next year? First of all, Stu, when you
- 4:00Speaker 6: make these types of move, you tell me the first one,
- 4:04Speaker 6: the first one that comes to mind, because it really
- 4:05Speaker 6: only is one where this type of move is made
- 4:07Speaker 6: and the championship has won the very next year.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I mean it felt like that when they landed Lebron,
- 4:13Speaker 1: they didn't win it the next year. It took him
- 4:15Speaker 1: two years to win that first title. They won back
- 4:17Speaker 1: to back and then lost in his fourth season. Moses Malone.
- 4:21Speaker 6: Kevin Garnett, Okay, Kevin Garnett said that, so almost twenty
- 4:24Speaker 6: years ago, right, And that was one of those where
- 4:26Speaker 6: it was Kevin Garnett Ray Allen sort of a perfect fit,
- 4:28Speaker 6: you know, with Doc Rivers there. But I don't expect
- 4:32Speaker 6: the Miami Heat to win a championship next year because
- 4:35Speaker 6: that's just not the way these things happen. But will
- 4:38Speaker 6: they be contenders? Absolutely, it's up Taylor and is.
- 4:41Speaker 4: I think the Knicks kind of proved that this year
- 4:43Speaker 4: where in that Eastern Conference, if you just get a
- 4:46Speaker 4: team that you feel pretty confident about and then they
- 4:49Speaker 4: find something once the playoff starts and they can kind
- 4:52Speaker 4: of go on their run. Like there's no really overwhelming
- 4:55Speaker 4: team in the East, even with the Knicks bringing back
- 4:57Speaker 4: their starting five. You're looking at the East, it's the Cavaliers,
- 5:00Speaker 4: it's the Pistons, it's the Celtics. The Celtics still have
- 5:03Speaker 4: moves to make, Like I do think to play Devil's
- 5:07Speaker 4: advocate for a bit because I am part of the group.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I'm gonna put my hand up and say I'm part
- 5:11Speaker 4: of the group that's pooh pooing this a little saying
- 5:14Speaker 4: I'm not sure this is really the needle mover that
- 5:16Speaker 4: some people are saying it is. But I do think
- 5:18Speaker 4: the Eastern Conference is there for the taking and starting
- 5:21Speaker 4: a team building through Jannis and bam Adebayo is about
- 5:26Speaker 4: as good a duo as you could get in this
- 5:28Speaker 4: modern NBA.
- 5:29Speaker 6: Yeah, because people are doing the thing where you're just like, well,
- 5:31Speaker 6: look who we had around him in Milwaukee, and what
- 5:33Speaker 6: could he do? You know, after twenty twenty one, and
- 5:35Speaker 6: it's just like it's a whole different animal. You're talking
- 5:38Speaker 6: about a different franchise, You're talking about different coaches, you're
- 5:40Speaker 6: talking about different approaches to everything. And please, I don't
- 5:44Speaker 6: want to hear from the folks who are saying Giannis
- 5:47Speaker 6: has another year or two good years.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Left in him. Stop it.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:51Speaker 6: We are existing in an era where the age is
- 5:55Speaker 6: no longer a limitation the way it used to be. Okay,
- 5:57Speaker 6: And so if you look at his history of games play,
- 6:00Speaker 6: he's played a good percentage of his games throughout up
- 6:02Speaker 6: until last year. So to just assume he's going to
- 6:06Speaker 6: fall off, and what does that look like? Maybe he's
- 6:07Speaker 6: only an average twenty five and ten. To assume to
- 6:10Speaker 6: fall off at age thirty one thirty two is a
- 6:13Speaker 6: ridiculous conversation. And if your team, whoever I'm talking to here,
- 6:18Speaker 6: your team would have gotten them, you wouldn't be saying
- 6:19Speaker 6: these things.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Let be honest, No, I think the most underrated aspect
- 6:22Speaker 4: in this and if I were looking at it from
- 6:24Speaker 4: a glass half full heat perspective, Spoe to me is
- 6:27Speaker 4: the best coach in the NBA. And if you give
- 6:30Speaker 4: Spoe the pieces that are maybe a questionable fit with
- 6:33Speaker 4: the spacing that comes with having Giannis and Bam kind
- 6:36Speaker 4: of occupying the same space, I do trust that Spo
- 6:40Speaker 4: is the best person to maximize the talent you have.
- 6:44Speaker 1: He maximized Jimmy Butler. I mean, people laughed at the
- 6:47Speaker 1: notion that Jimmy Butler could be the best player on
- 6:49Speaker 1: your team and that team would go to the NBA finals.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Spoe did it twice with Jimmy Butler. Yeah, I mean,
- 6:54Speaker 1: And so this is what makes it sort of laughable
- 6:56Speaker 1: to me. For those who are hyper analyzing the heat's
- 7:00Speaker 1: chances immediately and saying, okay, this again, we don't know
- 7:04Speaker 1: what the roster looks like. We don't know what Giannis
- 7:06Speaker 1: is going to look like, we don't know what this
- 7:07Speaker 1: defense is going to look like. Because just let's just
- 7:10Speaker 1: say Andrew Wiggins does come back, you're talking about a
- 7:13Speaker 1: front court of Wiggins, Bam and Yannis, all three of
- 7:17Speaker 1: them any given year, First team NBA defa all defense
- 7:21Speaker 1: type of players, Like you could be in a situation
- 7:23Speaker 1: where you have the most dominant defense in the league
- 7:25Speaker 1: and maybe you're not worried that much about three point shooting.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I will say, obviously, if we're just going to analyze
- 7:30Speaker 1: next year's roster, yes, they do need somebody that can
- 7:33Speaker 1: create off the dribble a little bit more, because if
- 7:35Speaker 1: there is a close game and you've got Giannis as
- 7:37Speaker 1: your main creator, there are ways to work around that
- 7:40Speaker 1: as a defense or to get around that as a defense.
- 7:42Speaker 5: So they probably need somebody else. But again, you.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Don't need a superstar, you don't need a multiple time
- 7:47Speaker 6: All Star. You just need somebody to create, somebody like
- 7:49Speaker 6: a Chris Middleton did with Giannis back a few years ago.
- 7:52Speaker 1: If there is a duo to kind of figure this
- 7:54Speaker 1: out and piece it together. I trust the duo of
- 7:57Speaker 1: Eric Spolstra and pat Riley. They have done this before.
- 7:59Speaker 1: They know what they're doing. Riley is as good as anyone,
- 8:03Speaker 1: and Spoe is the best coach in the NBA. And
- 8:05Speaker 1: I woke up this morning I got to tell you
- 8:07Speaker 1: is he because pat Riley and I will forever be
- 8:10Speaker 1: grateful for what he did for the New York Knicks.
- 8:12Speaker 1: But then he came down here and he took over
- 8:15Speaker 1: the Heat and he made them relevant instantly. And I
- 8:17Speaker 1: have learned to love pat Riley over my years down
- 8:21Speaker 1: here because he's been so good to me, so good
- 8:23Speaker 1: to our show, and so good for the market in general,
- 8:27Speaker 1: that I felt good for pat Riley because so many people,
- 8:30Speaker 1: including Heat fans, questioned Riley, wanted him out, wanted him
- 8:34Speaker 1: to retire, said he lost his touch.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And Riley gets Giannis today and he gets.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Them and the Celtics dope, which makes it even better
- 8:44Speaker 1: for Heat fans and.
- 8:45Speaker 6: For pat Riley and the Celtics now have to deal
- 8:47Speaker 6: with probably an upset Jalen Brown right, that locker room
- 8:51Speaker 6: is probably not going to be as harmonious as it
- 8:53Speaker 6: was in the past. So yeah, I think pat Riley's
- 8:56Speaker 6: pretty happy. I think it's great for pat because man,
- 9:00Speaker 6: I did not want to sit here and see him
- 9:02Speaker 6: have to put together some pot porie plate of players
- 9:05Speaker 6: if he didn't get you honest and be like, hey,
- 9:07Speaker 6: this is what I'm going with here in the meantime, Now,
- 9:10Speaker 6: what is more likely? Obviously he didn't strike out, he
- 9:13Speaker 6: caught his whale, and now there's the possibility of according
- 9:16Speaker 6: to Barry Jackson, you can't rule it out Lebron James
- 9:19Speaker 6: coming back home and taking that key that was left
- 9:21Speaker 6: under the mat. So now, all of a sudden two
- 9:23Speaker 6: weeks ago, pat Riley washed. Today pat Riley.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Can do anything.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yes, that's dwayn Wade's key though, right, just put a
- 9:30Speaker 1: little piece of tape over it.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Put lbj right there. Nobody's going to know the difference.
- 9:34Speaker 4: We're coming off of finals appearance with the Knicks, where
- 9:37Speaker 4: I granted Stu Gotts his Knicks fandom card back after
- 9:41Speaker 4: he took off twenty years and I said, and he
- 9:44Speaker 4: came to me before the finals and he said, Taylor,
- 9:46Speaker 4: I really like to be aboard this Knicks bandwagon for
- 9:49Speaker 4: the Finals. I didn't know who Cornett was a Nick
- 9:52Speaker 4: and now he's a spur. But I said, Stu, because
- 9:55Speaker 4: he came to me so graciously, here's your Nick fandom
- 9:58Speaker 4: card back. I put it in his wallet between all
- 10:01Speaker 4: those one hundred dollars bills.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 10:03Speaker 4: And now I hear him waxing poetically, so pat Riley
- 10:08Speaker 4: with this soliloquy of a loveless Listen, I'm going right
- 10:12Speaker 4: back in that studio and taking that Knicks car.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 10:15Speaker 1: There's a lot more hundreds in here because I'm dominating
- 10:17Speaker 1: soccer gambling.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I mean, but you can have it back.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I love Riley. What do you want from me? I
- 10:23Speaker 1: mean that man left LA and he came to coach
- 10:25Speaker 1: the New York Knicks. I mean it's relevant for a decade.
- 10:28Speaker 5: You can keep the card. Can I have some of
- 10:30Speaker 5: those hundreds?
- 10:32Speaker 1: I do think the Jalen Brown piece of this happens
- 10:36Speaker 1: to be the most interesting part of it.
- 10:37Speaker 2: We'll see what happens. The draft is tonight. Will he
- 10:40Speaker 2: get traded? Will he stay?
- 10:42Speaker 1: But I do find it funny is he that they
- 10:43Speaker 1: are the favorites to come out of the East. I
- 10:46Speaker 1: know Jalen Brown is upset. I know he wants to
- 10:48Speaker 1: be number one. He fancies himself as a number one.
- 10:51Speaker 1: But what do you think the Celtics do now here
- 10:53Speaker 1: with Jalen Brown. They could resign him two year max
- 10:56Speaker 1: deal one hundred and forty plus million dollars if they
- 10:59Speaker 1: wanted to, suspect Jalen doesn't want that.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Though, you know, once you've made that decision that your
- 11:05Speaker 6: core or whatever you've got going right now isn't good enough,
- 11:08Speaker 6: it feels like you have to continue to follow through
- 11:10Speaker 6: with that. And it seems like they've made that decision
- 11:13Speaker 6: right because they were in on the Yannas stuff. They
- 11:15Speaker 6: saw what happened at the end of that first round,
- 11:17Speaker 6: in that first round of the playoffs, and it feels like, hey,
- 11:20Speaker 6: if I'm going to keep up with the Knicks, and
- 11:21Speaker 6: in this case, if I'm going to make sure that
- 11:24Speaker 6: the heat stay beneath me, then I've got to do
- 11:27Speaker 6: something to improve. And it feels like that has to
- 11:30Speaker 6: be the move at this point, right because unless you
- 11:32Speaker 6: just change course entirely and say, okay, we'll trade Jason
- 11:35Speaker 6: Tatum and Jalen Brown will be happy, it's not the
- 11:38Speaker 6: reason to make that trade, right, You're going to trade
- 11:40Speaker 6: away the guy that you think is less valuable to you,
- 11:43Speaker 6: and people have that debate, Like, some people think Jalen
- 11:46Speaker 6: Brown is the better player of the two. He did
- 11:47Speaker 6: win the finals MVP and has been there for huge
- 11:50Speaker 6: moments as well, So I think they have to move
- 11:53Speaker 6: him to Like I don't think you can stay with
- 11:55Speaker 6: somebody as vocal and just you know, stands up for
- 11:59Speaker 6: himself the way Jalen Brown does.
- 12:01Speaker 5: I just don't think it's going to work well.
- 12:02Speaker 6: If he is unhappy now, he could come back and
- 12:05Speaker 6: shock all of us and say, no, I'm good, everybody's
- 12:07Speaker 6: got it'sianis he's one MVPs, I haven't. I'm okay being
- 12:10Speaker 6: involved in that trade talk and then everything's harmonious again.
- 12:13Speaker 2: But I doubt it.
- 12:15Speaker 1: What Milwaukee told you was they don't think Jalen Brown
- 12:17Speaker 1: is capable of being a number one guy who could
- 12:19Speaker 1: take a team to an NBA championship, and.
- 12:21Speaker 6: In theory, or at least according to some reports, that
- 12:24Speaker 6: is what the Milwaukee Bucks thought as well. Hey, if
- 12:26Speaker 6: we get Jalen Brown, is he going to get us
- 12:28Speaker 6: a championship like Yannis?
- 12:30Speaker 5: Probably not.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Is he going to be a disgruntled star when his
- 12:33Speaker 6: contract is expiring that's even more likely than the others.
- 12:37Speaker 6: So let's not go with the big name. Let's go
- 12:39Speaker 6: with all the assets and see if we can rebuild
- 12:41Speaker 6: that one.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Is he What do you think is the better duo
- 12:44Speaker 4: entering next season bam At of Bio and Yannis or
- 12:48Speaker 4: Jason Tatum and Hugo Gonzalez.
- 12:50Speaker 1: By the way, Taylor said earlier on the podcast that
- 12:53Speaker 1: Hugo Gonzalez better turn into.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Something close to Bob Coosey.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I mean, if that's what kept them from getting Yanis
- 13:00Speaker 1: needs to be Bob Cousey better than.
- 13:04Speaker 4: They also mentioned Baylor Shireman's name in the report, and
- 13:07Speaker 4: I'm looking at him like, what is the best case
- 13:10Speaker 4: scenario for Baylor Shireman's career. He ends up being like
- 13:14Speaker 4: the seventh or eighth best guy on on a championship team.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Even that seems like it's a bit of a stretch.
- 13:20Speaker 6: So this is from Bill Simmons' podcast, which Taylor texted
- 13:23Speaker 6: me yesterday. He said, I'm just gonna say I would
- 13:26Speaker 6: be absolutely shocked if Hugo was is thrown into any
- 13:29Speaker 6: Gyiannis trade offer. The entire organization is all in on him.
- 13:32Speaker 6: Steven's probably the most they could not be higher on him.
- 13:35Speaker 6: I genuinely don't believe he's involved. I guess we'll see,
- 13:38Speaker 6: but we'll see he wasn't involved because they didn't get him.
- 13:40Speaker 6: Hugo Gonzalez his stats for last year three point nine points,
- 13:43Speaker 6: three point three rebounds, zero point five assists. Granted he's
- 13:47Speaker 6: only twenty years old, but I don't think he's the
- 13:48Speaker 6: reason you stay away from you.
- 13:50Speaker 4: They're saying the Celtics couldn't be higher on him if
- 13:53Speaker 4: I know a way you could be higher on him
- 13:55Speaker 4: playing in more than nineteen minutes in that series against
- 13:58Speaker 4: the seventy six ers games.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm coming around.
- 14:01Speaker 1: By the way, when his career is over, his jersey
- 14:04Speaker 1: better be hanging.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Right next to Bob Goosey. Otherwise this wasn't worth it.
- 14:08Speaker 1: He had a chance to get Yanni's and matge am
- 14:10Speaker 1: up with Jason Tatum.
- 14:12Speaker 6: Oh my goodness, the amount of minutes he go Gonzalez
- 14:14Speaker 6: is going to get next year.
- 14:16Speaker 2: It is what just to prove to everyone how good
- 14:18Speaker 2: he is.
- 14:19Speaker 6: Yes, Brad Stevens, it's like an edict on the organization.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Hey, forty minutes a game.
- 14:23Speaker 2: For this guy.
- 14:25Speaker 1: But you expect Jalen Brown to be to not be
- 14:28Speaker 1: a Celtic by the end of tonight or tomorrow.
- 14:30Speaker 6: Right, I feel like, you know, the timing on these
- 14:33Speaker 6: things are so many different rules. I feel like at
- 14:35Speaker 6: some point, yes, something will be agreed upon for him
- 14:38Speaker 6: to go elsewhere. I think it's it's intriguing, right, so
- 14:41Speaker 6: we were past the Jannis stuff. Now what's gonna happen?
- 14:43Speaker 6: What are the Domino effis from that? And that has
- 14:45Speaker 6: to be the largest one. You know, if Jalen Brown
- 14:47Speaker 6: finds a way to you know, your scariest team Atlanta
- 14:51Speaker 6: is that? Is that a team that all of a sudden,
- 14:53Speaker 6: is you know, a top two or three team in
- 14:55Speaker 6: the Eastern Conference. It really just does depend on your
- 14:58Speaker 6: opinion on Jalen Brown. I don't think he is that
- 15:02Speaker 6: type of player where if he's your number two, you
- 15:05Speaker 6: are automatically a championship contender. I think it's a lot
- 15:08Speaker 6: depends on style, depends on what kind of season he
- 15:10Speaker 6: has individually. But it doesn't quite move the needle quite
- 15:15Speaker 6: like Giannis. But I think if if Jalen lands on
- 15:17Speaker 6: the right team, I think we're looking at it like, Okay,
- 15:19Speaker 6: he ended up in a really good place.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Is he from the Celtics perspective, though, now the tables
- 15:24Speaker 4: have kind of turned on them, where you're not going
- 15:27Speaker 4: to be getting a superstar back for Jalen Brown, right.
- 15:29Speaker 5: That's exactly right.
- 15:30Speaker 6: Like so they were involved according to reports, and it
- 15:34Speaker 6: was an obvious superstar for superstar trade. Now you immediately
- 15:38Speaker 6: turn into the team that's trying to unload a superstar
- 15:42Speaker 6: and you're never going to get something great in return.
- 15:44Speaker 6: And so especially if you're doing it in a pressurized
- 15:48Speaker 6: situation because he's unhappy and because you failed on your
- 15:53Speaker 6: first attempt, you're not going to get the type of
- 15:55Speaker 6: value you're expecting.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Tom Haberstrow was on the podcast he got some company
- 15:59Speaker 1: earlier the show before the show, and he said, Houston
- 16:01Speaker 1: is poised to make a run at Jalen Brown because
- 16:04Speaker 1: they have the assets.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Maybe Durant.
- 16:08Speaker 6: I've been huge on the rockets moving off of Alpera
- 16:12Speaker 6: and Shangun, and I know a lot of people are
- 16:13Speaker 6: gonna say, what are you crazy, baby Yoka Joker or whatever.
- 16:17Speaker 6: He slows them down a lot. I just don't think
- 16:21Speaker 6: he's the great pairing for what they're doing. And so
- 16:23Speaker 6: if you're saying, hey, I'm going to switch a little
- 16:26Speaker 6: bit of my approach and bring in Jalen Brown and
- 16:28Speaker 6: give up on, you know, an all star big man
- 16:30Speaker 6: and out be Shangoon and send him to Boston.
- 16:32Speaker 5: That's the move I'd be in on.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Because I think both teams can deal with, you know,
- 16:36Speaker 6: with what they're getting there.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Don't you think there's a part of Jalen Brown, He
- 16:40Speaker 1: might say to himself after talking to Brad Stevens, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: this is part of the job.
- 16:43Speaker 2: He knows. It's a business Jalen Brown does.
- 16:46Speaker 1: And they've tried to trade him twice now when it's
- 16:48Speaker 1: been public, and both times the teams ended up not
- 16:51Speaker 1: doing the deal.
- 16:53Speaker 2: It was.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I think it was durant the first time around with
- 16:55Speaker 1: Jalen Brown. If you're Jalen Brown, can't you kind of
- 16:58Speaker 1: sit there and say, hey, two years, get a max
- 17:00Speaker 1: deal seventy plus million dollars per season, and yes, I'm
- 17:04Speaker 1: a number two to Jason Tatum, one A, one B
- 17:06Speaker 1: whatever however you want to phrase it, right, But here
- 17:10Speaker 1: I have the best chance for the next two seasons
- 17:13Speaker 1: of winning a championship.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Were the favorites.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Even with all these moves, me staying putt still has
- 17:18Speaker 1: us as the favorites to come out of the East
- 17:20Speaker 1: next year. Don't you think they could change his mind?
- 17:22Speaker 1: Or he could change his own mind.
- 17:23Speaker 5: I think he can.
- 17:24Speaker 6: I think it's just a matter of, Hey, you guys
- 17:26Speaker 6: are the ones who are supposed to value me the most.
- 17:28Speaker 6: You're the ones who are supposed to respect me the most,
- 17:30Speaker 6: and you're trying the trade and you're trying to move me.
- 17:33Speaker 6: So hey, I'm going to go ahead and trust that
- 17:35Speaker 6: this other team that wants me is going to treat
- 17:38Speaker 6: me like a wanted part of their organization and not
- 17:41Speaker 6: some you know, appendage who might actually help. And maybe
- 17:44Speaker 6: he won't. You know, he could win MVP, but he
- 17:46Speaker 6: also could take us down in the first round. I
- 17:48Speaker 6: think that would make it, you know, a more difficult
- 17:51Speaker 6: situation for him to stay. And knowing that all these
- 17:54Speaker 6: folks around him have these, you know, mixed thoughts about him,
- 17:57Speaker 6: I think that weighs on players.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Wyndham Clark to time US Open champion get to join
- 18:01Speaker 1: us coming up in a couple of minutes.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Here.
- 18:03Speaker 1: It's such a big day at South Florida that bored
- 18:06Speaker 1: out Ricardo was inspired to write a song. To sing
- 18:09Speaker 1: a song about the heat, acquiring the Greek freak.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Let's hear it.
- 18:23Speaker 7: On your mark Roll said, let's go front office. Pro
- 18:26Speaker 7: pat knows you know. The Greeks gotta flowed with the
- 18:28Speaker 7: Godfather grit. You just can't quit. You gotta get Greeky
- 18:32Speaker 7: with it. That's it now, Greeky Vicky comes slide in
- 18:34Speaker 7: the three yoh fos, sticking to and wide. You with
- 18:37Speaker 7: the Godfather bag with all the moves in it. Dump
- 18:40Speaker 7: the rock to your friend. Will spend everybody looking at
- 18:43Speaker 7: you making a bid, wishing he was getting a kid.
- 18:45Speaker 2: He with this freaky kid.
- 18:46Speaker 5: Six or six eleven. He's from Greece. I don't mind
- 18:49Speaker 5: it for sign Tianis.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I don't like.
- 18:50Speaker 7: It shutting down the club when we're rolling to town.
- 18:53Speaker 7: Give it up, Greeky, make us feel fine, noise bound.
- 18:55Speaker 7: Our greatness is infinite. When Yanni saw in it, we're
- 18:59Speaker 7: getting Greeky with it.
- 19:01Speaker 8: Greedy special since Tadzeki getting Greeky with it more, getting
- 19:08Speaker 8: Greeky with it, greedy with it, getting.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Greeky with it.
- 19:13Speaker 5: I'm definitely gonna have Yido's for dinner tonight.
- 19:17Speaker 2: That song was almost too good a superfessional.
- 19:20Speaker 6: If you would have told me that was Will Smith today,
- 19:22Speaker 6: I would believe you for about thirty seconds.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Sounds kind of like.

- 19:51Speaker 6: miss tam USA's third game of the group stage this
- 19:54Speaker 6: Thursday at ten pm Eastern Man that's late seven pm
- 19:57Speaker 6: Pacific on Fox. It's USA versus Turkey, a live from
- 20:00Speaker 6: Los Angeles.
- 20:01Speaker 1: The game doesn't really count. I mean, we've advanced out
- 20:03Speaker 1: of the group stage because we're a world power when
- 20:05Speaker 1: it comes to soccer.
- 20:06Speaker 2: But I'll be glued.
- 20:07Speaker 5: I'll be glued to the screen.
- 20:09Speaker 2: You know what.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I've noticed The fan bases have been ridiculous Norway, Scotland,
- 20:14Speaker 1: the United States because we've never been here.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah. Two and zero already out of the group stage.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Debating whether or not we should rest our starters for
- 20:22Speaker 1: a ten o'clock start in the third game of the
- 20:25Speaker 1: group stage.
- 20:26Speaker 5: We don't know how to act none.
- 20:28Speaker 1: We don't have celebrations, we don't have ers. We're terrible
- 20:32Speaker 1: of this.
- 20:33Speaker 6: It's been kind of my favorite thing so far about
- 20:35Speaker 6: the World Cup is recognizing some of the traditions that
- 20:38Speaker 6: these countries have. Like you have the Norway one where
- 20:41Speaker 6: there and you guys, tell me what you think about this.
- 20:42Speaker 6: I don't know if I love it, but it is
- 20:44Speaker 6: something where they do like rowing right where they're all
- 20:47Speaker 6: rowing in unison, and then the Norway team like will
- 20:50Speaker 6: sit in, you know, in a group after a match
- 20:52Speaker 6: and row with the fans. I'm like, what is it
- 20:54Speaker 6: about rowing that creates his patriotism amongst you?
- 20:57Speaker 5: I don't really understand it, but it kind of looks cool.
- 21:00Speaker 4: When it comes to USA soccer, there has never been
- 21:03Speaker 4: a wider gap in terms of the quality of the
- 21:05Speaker 4: players versus the quality of the chance. The chants for
- 21:10Speaker 4: the USA are pathetically bad. When I hear them doing
- 21:15Speaker 4: the I believe that we will win chant.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Where it's just no, it's terrible, it's awful.
- 21:19Speaker 4: It makes me want to puke.
- 21:21Speaker 2: How do you even cheer that? I believe we will win.
- 21:23Speaker 5: I believe that we will win.
- 21:24Speaker 2: That's all.
- 21:25Speaker 5: I believe will win.
- 21:26Speaker 9: It.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Now, I say, that's okay compared to the ones you're.
- 21:28Speaker 6: About to offer, Taylor, because I actually bought a shirt
- 21:31Speaker 6: that says I believe that we will win and I
- 21:33Speaker 6: was like, you know what, I feel good about this,
- 21:34Speaker 6: but all these other ones this year, I do not
- 21:36Speaker 6: feel good about it.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I'll believe it when I say it, Taylor, you have cheers. Actually,
- 21:39Speaker 1: I mean yeah.
- 21:40Speaker 4: So the other one that I absolutely hate is the
- 21:43Speaker 4: one where it's like we love you, we love you,
- 21:45Speaker 4: we love you, and where you go, we will follow.
- 21:46Speaker 4: We'll follow because we support the US, the US, the US,
- 21:50Speaker 4: and that's the way we like it. We like you.
- 21:54Speaker 2: We're not up to speed with the play of our team.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Okay, no one was expecting this, so give the fans
- 21:59Speaker 1: a minute here, I mean, come on.
- 22:00Speaker 4: So I think the fans are starting to slowly catch
- 22:03Speaker 4: up because they're now getting more creativity. And you just
- 22:06Speaker 4: have to look to the English leagues and see how
- 22:09Speaker 4: the England fans are doing it. Because follering baw again
- 22:13Speaker 4: the striker with birthright citizenship from England. I saw this
- 22:17Speaker 4: chant going around on social media where it's the song
- 22:20Speaker 4: where it's like sam a walk o walka a a
- 22:24Speaker 4: ba again, he scores again. We stole him from England
- 22:27Speaker 4: and then it's like once you hear those, it's like, okay,
- 22:29Speaker 4: we're getting somewhere now.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that was that bad.
- 22:32Speaker 6: I don't want to like brag about stealing another country's
- 22:35Speaker 6: player if we're trying to be the best soccer team
- 22:38Speaker 6: in the world.
- 22:38Speaker 5: But it is what it is there. That one is
- 22:41Speaker 5: not terrible.
- 22:43Speaker 6: The one that you mentioned before that was the one
- 22:45Speaker 6: that was getting mocked internationally coming into the tournament.
- 22:48Speaker 5: And we've had plenty of time.
- 22:49Speaker 6: I mean, this is the country of freestyle rappers, and
- 22:51Speaker 6: how do we not have anybody that can just do
- 22:53Speaker 6: a cool chant about Team USA.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Yep, it took board out Ricardo a minute to come
- 22:57Speaker 1: up with a Gianniez.
- 22:59Speaker 4: The other player who who I want to pitch this
- 23:02Speaker 4: as his official song and his official chant, Sir Genial Dust.
- 23:06Speaker 2: He is.
- 23:06Speaker 4: He is great for this US team. He's one of
- 23:09Speaker 4: the key players going forward. I want to channel some
- 23:13Speaker 4: Joe Espositoes Bo. You're the dest Horah, nothing's ever gonna
- 23:20Speaker 4: slow him down.
- 23:21Speaker 6: You're the around you get that singing in Unison. That's
- 23:26Speaker 6: USA right there?
- 23:27Speaker 1: Is that the song from the All Valley Championships and
- 23:29Speaker 1: the Karate Kid.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I believe it is, yes.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Very specifically from the All Valley Championships in the Karate
- 23:37Speaker 6: Kid stuve. Have you seen what's going on? This is
- 23:39Speaker 6: a tradition gone wrong. Now it feels like with Japan.
- 23:42Speaker 6: Have you seen what's going on over there? No idea,
- 23:44Speaker 6: So Taylor, I'm sure you've seen this right that the
- 23:47Speaker 6: Japanese fans and I think even some of the team
- 23:49Speaker 6: members like they clean up. They literally take they grab
- 23:52Speaker 6: a garbage bag and they start cleaning up after the
- 23:55Speaker 6: after the matches, and everybody's like, wow, look at these
- 23:58Speaker 6: Japanese are so respectful, they're so so you know, great,
- 24:00Speaker 6: they help out the staff from cleaning the stadiums.
- 24:03Speaker 5: Well, apparently the women in Japan are.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Getting upset because they're saying, wait a second, do it
- 24:09Speaker 6: when the world's not watching.
- 24:11Speaker 5: You're cleaning up over there in these.
- 24:13Speaker 6: Stadiums where our house back home is a mess, and
- 24:16Speaker 6: it is hilarious watching that go down.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Do it at home.
- 24:20Speaker 6: Do it at home, babe. What they're saying they hire
- 24:24Speaker 6: people to clean those stadiums. You just come home and
- 24:27Speaker 6: need to do this for free at home.
- 24:28Speaker 2: This is the first time he's attempted to clean anything.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Tidying up the stadium afters. It's a very look at me,
- 24:36Speaker 4: very much, Look at me. People get paid to clean
- 24:39Speaker 4: up the stadium. You're taking away jobs.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
- 24:45Speaker 3: Live wheakd Sit three pm Eastern, twelve pm Pacific.
- 24:50Speaker 1: I sit down today to a furious Taylor Hippolis. He
- 24:54Speaker 1: is upset with Colin Coward, who has a list of
- 24:57Speaker 1: top ten players to build around in the.
- 25:01Speaker 2: We will get to that in a second.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Victor Hoflin going to join us, coming up in about
- 25:05Speaker 1: fifteen minutes. Frankui Sola at four o'clock at Joe thisman
- 25:10Speaker 1: at four twenty. As we are, what do we tailor about?
- 25:14Speaker 1: A week and change away? Two weeks away from heading
- 25:17Speaker 1: out to Lake Tahoe for the American Century Celebrity Championships.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I'm excited for this, Taylor, you excited for it. It's
- 25:25Speaker 1: their second year there and Joe Eisman's coming on to
- 25:28Speaker 1: endorse it today.
- 25:29Speaker 4: After the finals. The only thing I have to look
- 25:31Speaker 4: forward to right now is Tahoe. So it's the only
- 25:34Speaker 4: thing circled on my calendar.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Okay, good doing our best to get Israel good eras
- 25:39Speaker 1: and mikey A out there as well.
- 25:41Speaker 5: We are, I'm sure open my breath. Let's do that
- 25:49Speaker 5: for the rest of the show.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Mike, you Shalli. We're trying. We're trying here, We're try.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Let's get to this list here. Why are you so furious, Taylor?
- 25:57Speaker 2: You are? You are very upset over a list that
- 25:59Speaker 2: Colin came up with.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I stopped getting upset at people like Colin Coward a
- 26:03Speaker 1: long long time ago.
- 26:04Speaker 4: So just to be clear, I'm not upset at Colin,
- 26:07Speaker 4: cause you know you know this too. I love Colin.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I bought his book in twenty fifteen, Raw My one
- 26:12Speaker 4: hundred percent Grade, A unfiltered inside Look at Sports. I
- 26:15Speaker 4: love Colin Coward. Dare I say I look up to
- 26:17Speaker 4: Colin Coward?
- 26:18Speaker 2: You're in the hurt. Yes.
- 26:20Speaker 4: This list that he put up, the Ellen List, stands
- 26:23Speaker 4: for laughable because it is one of the worst lists
- 26:26Speaker 4: I've ever seen. It's top ten players to build around
- 26:29Speaker 4: in the NBA.
- 26:31Speaker 1: All right, so we have an MBA expert here is
- 26:33Speaker 1: real Goodyerez. He would be the perfect person to tell
- 26:36Speaker 1: us whether this list is blasphemy or not. How do
- 26:39Speaker 1: you want to do this? You want to go one
- 26:41Speaker 1: by one and just let his he comments on them.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I mean, how are we going to do this?
- 26:44Speaker 4: We could go We'll start from ten and count our
- 26:47Speaker 4: way down.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Okay, let's do that.
- 26:48Speaker 4: So this is an order of how he would build
- 26:51Speaker 4: a team.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Okay, So this is the tenth player right now currently
- 26:55Speaker 1: in the NBA that Colin Cowherd would want to build
- 26:57Speaker 1: his NBA team around.
- 27:00Speaker 4: I think it's it's more suspenseful if we start from one.
- 27:02Speaker 6: Oh really, So we'll start at the top, the first player,
- 27:06Speaker 6: most obvious player in the league that you would want
- 27:08Speaker 6: to build her I love a good twist.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Go ahead, who's number one?
- 27:10Speaker 4: It's Victor Webbin Yama.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Okay, And you're mad at that because it's so obvious, right,
- 27:15Speaker 1: I'm not mad at that point.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I am.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Yeah, You'll you'll start to see where my anger comes in.
- 27:20Speaker 2: No, but I would say that's the obvious number one.
- 27:22Speaker 1: And if you're putting together a list and you're a
- 27:23Speaker 1: cagey vet in a Hall of Famer like Colin.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Colward, you need to do better than Victor webbin Yama.
- 27:28Speaker 2: How about that?
- 27:28Speaker 6: I might have accidentally looked ahead. I think I know this.
- 27:32Speaker 6: It was an accident. I just said it was an accident.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Mikey, I mean, don't even have it up.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Good news is I've only seen the top six, So
- 27:42Speaker 5: it's not.
- 27:42Speaker 2: That bat all right? Number two? Go ahead?
- 27:45Speaker 1: Who's the second player in the NBA that Colin would
- 27:47Speaker 1: most want to build his team around?
- 27:49Speaker 4: Nicole Jokic?
- 27:50Speaker 2: What dies to Jesus? And the captain obvious? The sea
- 27:54Speaker 2: in Colin stands for captain obvious? About that?
- 27:57Speaker 4: If if you think that's captain obvious too?
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:00Speaker 4: Number three on this list? Uh huh Cooper Flag?
- 28:03Speaker 2: Wow?
- 28:04Speaker 4: Yes, and correct me if I'm wrong. Cooper Flag didn't
- 28:07Speaker 4: win anything of significance in his rookie year.
- 28:10Speaker 5: I mean outside of Rookie of the Year, but in
- 28:12Speaker 5: terms on the court. He wont know he said significance.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I mean.
- 28:17Speaker 6: That is that is a wild If you just if
- 28:20Speaker 6: you just presented somebody right now, three names, Victor wembin Yama,
- 28:24Speaker 6: Nikola Jokic, and Cooper Flagg, tell me what list is this?
- 28:28Speaker 5: These are the top three players.
- 28:29Speaker 6: I don't think you'd have a really I mean maybe no,
- 28:32Speaker 6: because Nikola Jokic is older that that together, that trio
- 28:35Speaker 6: makes no sense.
- 28:36Speaker 1: So if someone presented those three players and said, guess
- 28:39Speaker 1: the list, you would say players you want to build
- 28:41Speaker 1: your NBA team around.
- 28:42Speaker 5: No, I wouldn't be I would I got number three.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Yeah, really Flag and mister Cooper Flag is overrated.
- 28:47Speaker 6: I mean he is overrated, but I'm starting my franchise
- 28:51Speaker 6: with him.
- 28:51Speaker 2: But that's my take.
- 28:52Speaker 1: But I think people, I mean Dusty May left Michigan,
- 28:54Speaker 1: they just want a national championship because he wants to
- 28:56Speaker 1: build his team around Cooper Flag.
- 28:58Speaker 6: Well, probably because the Okase job wasn't open, because he
- 29:01Speaker 6: would have built it around shake Hill just Alexander.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Then oops, I'm sorry. I might have given away.
- 29:05Speaker 1: And by the way, can we stop doing that? Every
- 29:08Speaker 1: single time Oklahoma City makes a draft pick.
- 29:10Speaker 2: It's the greatest pick in the history of draft picks.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Give me a break.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I mean, you have no idea, No one has any idea.
- 29:16Speaker 1: They get a seven to two guy from Michigan.
- 29:19Speaker 4: He's a great pass kids, an unbelievable passage.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but if the Nets took him, it would have
- 29:24Speaker 1: been a bust. I mean, the Nets only draft guards
- 29:27Speaker 1: by the way they do. Who's the team that's collecting
- 29:30Speaker 1: second round picks? There is a team out.
- 29:31Speaker 2: There, right someone traded for the Knicks the next Now.
- 29:36Speaker 1: There's another team out there that was collecting second round picks.
- 29:38Speaker 1: It's worked out for the Knicks, and it's worked out
- 29:42Speaker 1: for Denver. I guess it normally doesn't work out anyway.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Number four on this list is.
- 29:46Speaker 4: The next two names. I don't have a problem on
- 29:49Speaker 4: this list. So four and five is Anthony Edwards and SGA.
- 29:53Speaker 6: Now think about that, dude, he would rather start right
- 29:57Speaker 6: now a franchise with Cooper Flagg, Yes, over Anthony Edwards
- 30:01Speaker 6: or Shay.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Gil just Alexander, which is why Taylor started at one.
- 30:06Speaker 4: SGA is a two time MVP and NBA champion. To
- 30:10Speaker 4: Isy's point, in what world would you say right now,
- 30:14Speaker 4: I'll take Cooper Flag instead of SGA.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Well, I got to give him credit because you have
- 30:18Speaker 1: to make the list. We have to be talking about
- 30:20Speaker 1: the list. Colin has to create a list in which
- 30:23Speaker 1: you know it upsets you so much that we end
- 30:25Speaker 1: up discussing it on the radio show and mission accomplished.
- 30:29Speaker 4: So number six on this list, if I wasn't upset
- 30:32Speaker 4: about four and five. Guess what I'm gonna be upset
- 30:34Speaker 4: with number six, Luka Doncic.
- 30:39Speaker 6: The player that allowed them to draft Cooper Flag because
- 30:42Speaker 6: it was the most ridiculous trade in NBA history.
- 30:45Speaker 5: Somehow three spots below Cooper Flag. This makes a lot
- 30:49Speaker 5: of sense.
- 30:50Speaker 2: So good, I'm brout of college.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Seven. It's Izzy's boy, Jannis onto to Cooper oh thirty one?
- 31:01Speaker 4: He's what one and nine is? Last ten playoff games?
- 31:03Speaker 1: Like?
- 31:03Speaker 4: Not really that impressive. Hasn't won a playoff series since
- 31:05Speaker 4: twenty twenty two.
- 31:06Speaker 5: Yeah right, you're starting a franchise with him.
- 31:08Speaker 6: But in the very next segment you're probably gonna tell
- 31:10Speaker 6: me how the Heat might not get out of the
- 31:11Speaker 6: first round of the playoffs.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I don't think they will actually if they made the playoffs,
- 31:15Speaker 1: there you go.
- 31:16Speaker 2: How about that?
- 31:16Speaker 5: Seriously?
- 31:17Speaker 2: I mean, when's the last time Yanni's played eighty two games? Huh?
- 31:21Speaker 5: I say that about a lot of playing.
- 31:23Speaker 1: When's the last time yan has played seventy two games?
- 31:25Speaker 1: Seventy five games, seventy games?
- 31:27Speaker 4: I mean, is he if the bar is if you
- 31:29Speaker 4: played eighty two games, the only player on Stew's list
- 31:33Speaker 4: would be mckel Bridges.
- 31:34Speaker 5: I think he played seventy three games in twenty twenty four.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Okay, how many years has he played north of seventy games?
- 31:43Speaker 2: Giannis over the last let's say eight seasons? Not many?
- 31:46Speaker 2: Eight seasons, yes, not many?
- 31:48Speaker 5: Right, one one?
- 31:50Speaker 6: But they're all in the sixties though, you're just picking
- 31:53Speaker 6: the game. And if you go the previous one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
- 31:57Speaker 6: six seasons, all of them, all of them play more
- 32:00Speaker 6: than seventy.
- 32:01Speaker 5: So very good bye.
- 32:02Speaker 2: He's getting up there at age then.
- 32:04Speaker 5: So number eight on this list, starting at francis.
- 32:07Speaker 4: This one, Number eight, Kate Cunningham.
- 32:13Speaker 5: I don't have a big problem with that one.
- 32:16Speaker 6: I know he hasn't done much yet, but we're talking about,
- 32:19Speaker 6: you know, a combination of youth ability and projecting how
- 32:23Speaker 6: good he and you're talking about a six eight point
- 32:25Speaker 6: guard who's just figured it out basically last year.
- 32:28Speaker 5: That's not a terrible choice. Down at eight, next one, Taylor.
- 32:32Speaker 4: And this is where the problem on this list comes
- 32:34Speaker 4: in because number nine is Jalen Brunson. And we just
- 32:38Speaker 4: watched Jalen Brunson deliver a title to New York. We
- 32:40Speaker 4: just watched Jalen Brunson score forty five points in the
- 32:44Speaker 4: closeout game to win said titles as Finals MVP. What
- 32:50Speaker 4: more does Jalen Brunson have to do to where you
- 32:53Speaker 4: would say, Hey, if you're an NBA GM today, you
- 32:57Speaker 4: get to have Jalen Brunson for the next ten years
- 32:59Speaker 4: or Kate cunning Him for the next ten years. If
- 33:01Speaker 4: you pick Kid Cunningham, guess what trick question you weren't
- 33:04Speaker 4: gonna be a GM. You're fired.
- 33:05Speaker 6: He's already provided proof of concept for you, and yet
- 33:08Speaker 6: you're still putting him down at eight as pretty silly.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I think most gms would pick Kaid though, and Otaylor
- 33:12Speaker 1: doesn't want to hear that, but I think they would.
- 33:14Speaker 1: And that's the beauty of this NIXT team is that
- 33:16Speaker 1: they did it with Jalen Brunson. I think most gms
- 33:18Speaker 1: would say, yeah, next ten years, give.
- 33:19Speaker 6: Me kay, because the only thing Jalen Brunton could do
- 33:22Speaker 6: differently is be younger. Like that's the only thing that
- 33:24Speaker 6: would have moved him up this list, because if he
- 33:26Speaker 6: was twenty four and had just led the Knicks to
- 33:28Speaker 6: a title, he'd probably be in the top three on
- 33:30Speaker 6: this list, probably kick Cooper Flag off the top three.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Cooper Flag over Jalen Brunton. It's like that just makes
- 33:37Speaker 4: me one. I'm not saying this about Colin Coward, but
- 33:40Speaker 4: it's makeing me wonder if he even watched the basketball games.
- 33:43Speaker 1: It doesn't matter if he watched or not. My guess
- 33:45Speaker 1: is he didn't watch many of them. Okay, it's just
- 33:48Speaker 1: a guess. It's purely a guess. But putting Cooper Flag
- 33:51Speaker 1: at number three is why we're discussing this list and
- 33:53Speaker 1: why he's a genius and why he's a Hall of Fay.
- 33:55Speaker 6: Can we ask Ai Colin how many players he would
- 33:58Speaker 6: choose ahead of Coup for Flag to start a franchise
- 34:02Speaker 6: with and see if he only gives us two names?
- 34:03Speaker 6: Just that question, Okay, because I want to see real
- 34:06Speaker 6: life Callin and Ai Colin contradict each other.
- 34:09Speaker 4: But we do have Ai Collins top ten players that
- 34:12Speaker 4: he would build build his team around.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Oh so we do.
- 34:14Speaker 1: So this is the real Collins list, and we have
- 34:16Speaker 1: Ai Collins list, and we'll see if they match.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Up with one another.
- 34:19Speaker 5: All who's number ten?
- 34:21Speaker 2: Though?
- 34:21Speaker 1: This is going to be very exciting. How do you
- 34:22Speaker 1: have Ai Collins list? All right, Uh, let's let's get
- 34:26Speaker 1: to did you did you get through the list here
- 34:28Speaker 1: Colin real Collins list.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Yeah, number ten was Jason Tatum, who cares?
- 34:31Speaker 2: Okay, who cares? So now.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Now Jalen Brown, he might be number eleven. All right,
- 34:40Speaker 1: So did anyone write down this list?
- 34:42Speaker 4: Yeah, in front of me. So AI Colin just walked in.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Okay, Oh he did?
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yeah, tell him, I said, hello, tell him we need
- 34:49Speaker 1: his list, that we need it right now.
- 34:51Speaker 9: Bottom line, if I'm building around guys right now, Ten
- 34:54Speaker 9: to one goes Jalen Brunson, Caid Cunningham, Stephen Curry, Luka, Doncicic, Kawhi,
- 34:59Speaker 9: Leonard Janis out at a Kumbo, Shay gilj Just, Alexander Niccolo, Jokich,
- 35:04Speaker 9: Victor Webber, Yama and number one for me as Anthony Edwards.
- 35:07Speaker 9: Why Edwards at the top? Age explosion, shot creation and
- 35:11Speaker 9: that alpha personality you can build a whole franchise around
- 35:15Speaker 9: for a decade.
- 35:16Speaker 5: So no Cooper flag anywhere on that list.
- 35:19Speaker 4: And it seems like Ai Colin has Jalen Brunson even lower,
- 35:22Speaker 4: honestly dead to ten.
- 35:24Speaker 2: It seems like Kawhi is a question. Let's hear it.
- 35:33Speaker 2: One more talk, please, Stephen.
- 35:36Speaker 9: Bottom line, if I'm building around guys right now. Ten
- 35:39Speaker 9: to one goes Jalen Brunson, Caid Cunningham, Stephen Curry, Luka, Doncicic, Kawhi,
- 35:44Speaker 9: Leonard Jannis, out at A Kumbo, Shay gild Just, Alexander Nicolo, Jokich,
- 35:48Speaker 9: Victor wemban Yama and number one for me as Anthony Edwards.
- 35:51Speaker 9: Why Edwards at the top we heard age explosion shot creation.
- 35:57Speaker 6: I mean real life Colin Cowher just doesn't like Anthony
- 36:01Speaker 6: Edwards as much.
- 36:01Speaker 5: I don't know why moved down the number four.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Who has the better list?
- 36:05Speaker 5: Oh, definitely Ai Collin.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:07Speaker 6: I mean he's got a thirty eight year old Steph
- 36:09Speaker 6: Curry that he's starting a franchise with, but questionable, but
- 36:12Speaker 6: it is Steph Curry and he doesn't have Cooper flag
- 36:14Speaker 6: on there.
- 36:15Speaker 2: So yeah, Hey, who's building around Kawhi? Why? Why? Yes?
- 36:21Speaker 5: Dan, I'll tell you I don't want a nitpick.
- 36:24Speaker 10: But it sounded like you said Giannis added a Cuombo like,
- 36:27Speaker 10: added a Coombo. It's a tough name. It's still taking
- 36:31Speaker 10: us thirteen years to get, you know in ted a Koombo.
- 36:34Speaker 10: But his sounded like added to Cumbo.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Yes, that's why I call him the Greek.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Freak, both of the list, the AI Colin and real Colin.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Luka Doncic, Get Luka Doncic out of my face right
- 36:46Speaker 4: now until he starts winning in the playoffs, We're gonna
- 36:48Speaker 4: get I'll tell you right now. Well, we could do
- 36:51Speaker 4: this game called What's gonna Happen this offseason? This offseason,
- 36:54Speaker 4: you're gonna see videos of Mitchell Robinson shooting threes in
- 36:57Speaker 4: a gym, and everybody's gonna say, oh my God, look
- 36:59Speaker 4: at Mitchell, and maybe he could extend out.
- 37:01Speaker 5: To maybe with Ben Simmons.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Yes.
- 37:03Speaker 4: And then the second thing, we're gonna see Luka Doncic
- 37:05Speaker 4: getting ripped and in such great shape, and everybody's gonna
- 37:09Speaker 4: be like, Wow, this this might be the year Luca
- 37:11Speaker 4: can will a team to an NBA Finals trophy, which
- 37:14Speaker 4: we just saw Jaylen Brunson did.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yep. Men's health. I mean, there's only so many times
- 37:17Speaker 2: they could trot that story out.
- 37:20Speaker 1: He's on a diet, he's a better shape, he's out
- 37:23Speaker 1: for thirty games by the second week of the.
- 37:25Speaker 6: Season, like this close to playing enough games and being MVP,
- 37:28Speaker 6: and you guys are like, I get him out of
- 37:29Speaker 6: my life.
- 37:30Speaker 5: I mean, please, so it's a finals.
- 37:32Speaker 1: It seems like Colin agrees with Nico Harrison, though, I mean,
- 37:35Speaker 1: because you'd rather build around.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Cooper than Luca.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Depends on which you don't get Cooper unless you get
- 37:39Speaker 1: rid of Luca, right, I mean, I guess anyway.
- 37:43Speaker 2: We'll discuss it all with Victor Hovlin. How are you laughing?
- 37:50Speaker 6: Stu got some company is brought to you by fam Duel,
- 37:52Speaker 6: America's number one sportsbook.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I don't know who's running the board back in Sherman Oaks.
- 37:56Speaker 1: I just know it's not Iowa Sam because he's on
- 37:59Speaker 1: his game.
- 37:59Speaker 2: I mean he he was on his game. Mike Saran
- 38:01Speaker 2: go yeah.
- 38:05Speaker 4: In the words of Jerry Jones, I ain't got the
- 38:07Speaker 4: patience to jack with you.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Today, man. Thanks to Victor Hovlin for joining us. He
- 38:14Speaker 2: was fun.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Frank I sol looking to join us coming up in
- 38:16Speaker 1: about fifteen minutes. Joe Thighsman at four twenty Izzy was
- 38:21Speaker 1: fooled by the Internet. I need to hear more. This
- 38:23Speaker 1: came up during a commercial break. I am one who
- 38:26Speaker 1: was often fooled by the Internet. The last time it happened,
- 38:30Speaker 1: I thought Kirk Kerktreet actually brought his dog to Madison
- 38:32Speaker 1: square Gordon inside. That's a cute picture. That was right,
- 38:36Speaker 1: had a floor seat right next to Spike.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Taylor. What happened here with Israel? Good errors?
- 38:43Speaker 4: So is he was gracious enough to give me a
- 38:45Speaker 4: ride into the studio yesterday. My car was getting fixed
- 38:49Speaker 4: and worked on. During the car ride is He turns
- 38:53Speaker 4: to me and he said, did you see the news?
- 38:55Speaker 5: And I go, wait, wait, wait, don't tell the news.
- 38:58Speaker 5: Tell your story, but don't tell the news.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Can he do that? I mean?
- 39:02Speaker 4: He goes, did you hear the news? And I go, Now,
- 39:04Speaker 4: my brain's like going through all the news. I'm like, yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 4: I saw Jannis got traded through the heat as yours.
- 39:10Speaker 4: This is midday now, of course I saw it. And
- 39:12Speaker 4: then he says, no, okayzy, do you want to say
- 39:15Speaker 4: what the story?
- 39:16Speaker 5: Mauld take it from here? This is what happens in
- 39:19Speaker 5: these situations.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 39:21Speaker 6: So I'll see something online and I will consume it,
- 39:25Speaker 6: download the information, move on.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:27Speaker 5: Right, I'm not sitting here like talking about it. I'm
- 39:29Speaker 5: not whatever.
- 39:30Speaker 6: And so when I decide, whatever the case may be,
- 39:34Speaker 6: to talk about it, yes, the second the words are
- 39:37Speaker 6: coming out of my mouth, I'm like, wait a second,
- 39:40Speaker 6: how was I not more skeptical about this before.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I'm familiar with that.
- 39:44Speaker 1: When I started to say the sentence Kirkurbstreet's dog got
- 39:48Speaker 1: into madisons where guarded, I realized just how ridiculous the story.
- 39:52Speaker 6: Was, right, And so I started saying, did you hear
- 39:55Speaker 6: the news? Because we had shifted from be honest to
- 39:58Speaker 6: another famous NBA player, And I said, yeah, Bronnie and
- 40:03Speaker 6: his girlfriend are having a baby. Lebron's gonna be a grandfather, Stu.
- 40:09Speaker 6: Do you know how big of a story that would
- 40:11Speaker 6: be if that was real? If Lebron James was gonna
- 40:15Speaker 6: be it, if Bronni was already going to have another
- 40:18Speaker 6: son after playing with his dad for a couple of years,
- 40:21Speaker 6: how big of a story as the words you're coming
- 40:24Speaker 6: out of my mouth, I want to deflate myself. You
- 40:26Speaker 6: can ask Taylor. I said, wait, that was probably fake,
- 40:30Speaker 6: wasn't it? Like I immediately recognized it is he.
- 40:33Speaker 4: What you have to do from now on is start
- 40:34Speaker 4: sending me these stories because you have to understand how
- 40:38Speaker 4: online I am to this because five percent, if I
- 40:41Speaker 4: was doing a pie chart right now, five percent of
- 40:44Speaker 4: my job is producing this radio show and the podcast.
- 40:48Speaker 4: The other ninety five percent is helping Stu sift through
- 40:51Speaker 4: fake stories where he's texting me. Did you see Jalen
- 40:54Speaker 4: Brunson texted Victor wenbin Yam a happy Father's Day? Did
- 40:57Speaker 4: you see Darn Fox is in a NIX form at
- 41:00Speaker 4: the Knick's parade. I'm like, Stu, let me hold your
- 41:03Speaker 4: hand in here. None of those are real?
- 41:06Speaker 5: Wow, so much content available.
- 41:09Speaker 2: I love fake content. It's better than real contents, you.
- 41:13Speaker 5: Know what, Taylor. I feel way better about myself now.
- 41:16Speaker 5: Thank you for that.
- 41:18Speaker 6: Mine wasn't nearly as bad. I have not famously I
- 41:21Speaker 6: have sold you before. The most embarrassed one that I've
- 41:24Speaker 6: ever gotten fooled by was where there was a reporter
- 41:27Speaker 6: going around asking all of tam USA basketball supposedly.
- 41:31Speaker 5: How old were you when you lost your virginity?
- 41:34Speaker 6: And they all answered it all throughout, and the real
- 41:37Speaker 6: question was how old were you when you first dunked?
- 41:40Speaker 5: So when Bammana Bayo was at eleven years old, I
- 41:43Speaker 5: was like.
- 41:43Speaker 6: WHOA, I believe that that's exactly what happened.
- 41:49Speaker 5: I saw.
- 41:50Speaker 6: The first person they asked was Steph Curry. Steph seemed
- 41:53Speaker 6: a little embarrassed but decided to power through and answer
- 41:55Speaker 6: the question. I was like, yeah, if Steph answered the question,
- 41:58Speaker 6: everybody else will answer it.
- 41:59Speaker 5: And that's why.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Of course, So the giveaway should have been when Lebron
- 42:02Speaker 4: James said third grade.
- 42:06Speaker 6: That was a popular kid man. Bron James had a
- 42:09Speaker 6: lot of boxes to check in life. He just got
- 42:11Speaker 6: that one out of the way early.
- 42:12Speaker 1: You think he's gonna try to stick around long enough
- 42:14Speaker 1: to be the first guy to play with his grandson.
- 42:19Speaker 5: So anyway, the NBA Draft, what happened there?
- 42:21Speaker 1: I Tellor, I'd like to start a segment next week
- 42:23Speaker 1: if we could real news fake news. Okay, like real story,
- 42:28Speaker 1: fake story. You present us with stories that we might
- 42:30Speaker 1: think are real but probably fake.
- 42:32Speaker 5: Go ahead, my whole segment make.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Them all fake. Yeah?
- 42:40Speaker 1: Oh god, what happened with the NBA Draft? You were
- 42:43Speaker 1: very upset on someone's behalf during the break. I wasn't
- 42:45Speaker 1: listening too well because I was on the phone with someone.
- 42:48Speaker 2: So what happened?
- 42:50Speaker 5: I shouldn't talk to you when you're on the phone.
- 42:52Speaker 6: No, it was a pretty, i would say boring NBA
- 42:56Speaker 6: draft didn't have a whole lot of action to it,
- 42:59Speaker 6: But there was one thing. It just got me heated
- 43:00Speaker 6: because it just it ruined a player's I would say
- 43:04Speaker 6: NBA Draft Knight, right, Nate Aiment, the Tennessee forward who
- 43:08Speaker 6: got drafted by Milwaukee.
- 43:09Speaker 5: With the thirteenth pick.
- 43:10Speaker 6: If you say so, it was technically Miami's pick, right,
- 43:13Speaker 6: that was the pick that was involved, one of the
- 43:15Speaker 6: picks that was involved in the trade. Everybody knows, even
- 43:18Speaker 6: though it's not official, everybody knows there's a large percentage
- 43:21Speaker 6: that it's going to be official, large percentage chance it's
- 43:22Speaker 6: going to be official. And yet Nate ament had to
- 43:26Speaker 6: go up there in a Heat hat and say, congratulations,
- 43:29Speaker 6: you got drafted to the Miami Heat.
- 43:31Speaker 5: And all of his interviews have to do with.
- 43:32Speaker 6: The Miami Heat, potentially all of his conversations with the
- 43:36Speaker 6: commissioner or whatever. He can never look back to his
- 43:40Speaker 6: draft night and say what a great night, look because
- 43:43Speaker 6: he's wearing the wrong hat. It's not even a cool
- 43:45Speaker 6: situation like Kobe where he got traded on draft night,
- 43:49Speaker 6: and it's just like, hey, look at that vintage picture
- 43:51Speaker 6: of Kobe where in the Hornets hat.
- 43:52Speaker 5: Nobody knew he was going to be that good. This
- 43:54Speaker 5: was everybody knows.
- 43:55Speaker 6: Everybody knows you're going to be a Milwaukee Buck unless
- 43:58Speaker 6: they're like a half percent chance at something falls through
- 44:00Speaker 6: in this trade. Why not go ahead and let him
- 44:02Speaker 6: wear the right hat and make his draft night something
- 44:05Speaker 6: that he remembers for the rest of his life instead
- 44:07Speaker 6: of being yeah, I had to wear the stupid hat
- 44:09Speaker 6: because of NBA rules.
- 44:10Speaker 5: The draft night meant nothing to me.
- 44:11Speaker 1: So everyone's acting like he was actually drafted by the
- 44:14Speaker 1: Heat and asking him the relating questions, what's it going
- 44:16Speaker 1: to be like to play with Tyler Herro.
- 44:19Speaker 6: It's just it doesn't make any sense to just not
- 44:22Speaker 6: go ahead and bite the bullet and say, Okay, we
- 44:25Speaker 6: know you're gonna be on Milwaukee. Let's make this a
- 44:27Speaker 6: night about you and not a night about NBA rules and.
- 44:30Speaker 4: Loopholeszy, what did you think about the crystal hats, because
- 44:33Speaker 4: it feels like the crystal hats on draft night, the
- 44:36Speaker 4: bedazzled shirts that the Knicks wore when they win the title.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Bedazzled crystal feels like it's very in right now when
- 44:42Speaker 4: it comes to the NBA.
- 44:43Speaker 6: It's fine in person, but does it make it better
- 44:46Speaker 6: viewing on TV?
- 44:47Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 44:48Speaker 6: I just think you go with the normal hats. I
- 44:50Speaker 6: don't think I think the bedazzling and stuff. You know,
- 44:52Speaker 6: we're just trying to find ways to seem a little
- 44:53Speaker 6: bit more special.
- 44:55Speaker 5: But I don't think it works.
- 44:56Speaker 1: So that move can't become official until July sixth. You're
- 44:58Speaker 1: saying the calendars don't match up up, and some of
- 45:00Speaker 1: these guys are having their draft night ruined.
- 45:02Speaker 2: It's embarrassing.
- 45:02Speaker 6: It doesn't happen very often, but last night, with a mint,
- 45:05Speaker 6: it happened. And it's just like, why why are we
- 45:06Speaker 6: doing this ridiculous song and dance when we know which
- 45:09Speaker 6: uniform you're going to be wearing.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you're really upset. I'll be after this kid,
- 45:13Speaker 1: like you can't get that night back. I think you're
- 45:15Speaker 1: probably right.
- 45:16Speaker 2: You know.
- 45:16Speaker 6: If look, if I was at thirteen, if the thirteen
- 45:19Speaker 6: was coming up and I was down there, I was like,
- 45:21Speaker 6: anybody but me, anybody but me, so that I can
- 45:23Speaker 6: have a normal draft night instead of this non.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I would demand I demand the Bucks hat and I
- 45:27Speaker 1: demand Bucks questions.
- 45:29Speaker 2: I mean, seriously, guys, can we stop doing this? What
- 45:31Speaker 2: are we doing here? Yeah? Tell it?
- 45:33Speaker 4: So I just went back in my text to find
- 45:35Speaker 4: a message from Stu Gotts. The text says, is it true?
- 45:39Speaker 3: Lane?
- 45:39Speaker 4: Kiffin's riding into Death Valley game one on Mike the Tiger.
- 45:43Speaker 6: Yeah, if I got a text from Stu Gott that
- 45:47Speaker 6: asks if is it true, it's automatically no.
- 45:50Speaker 2: You still haven't responded
- 45:52Speaker 4: I responded, probably not a
