- 0:31Speaker 2: jj R whatever you want to say to nine six
- 0:33Speaker 2: eight niney three Blake. There's something that Peyton wants to
- 0:36Speaker 2: bring up. There's something that you've brought It's the same
- 0:39Speaker 2: thing that you've brought up before.
- 0:40Speaker 3: You brought it up yesterday.
- 0:41Speaker 2: My wife Blake's filling it for cow By the way,
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's something I've noticed a lot our neighbors brought up
- 0:46Speaker 2: and now it's all over the news.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Do you have any know what it is?
- 0:50Speaker 4: John?
- 0:50Speaker 3: Nojohn in the news? I mean I know that from
- 0:54Speaker 3: crazy Richesians.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Is that the same dame play it yesterday?
- 0:58Speaker 3: Complicated?
- 0:59Speaker 4: It's not that it is a little complicated, but.
- 1:01Speaker 3: No, that's not what it is. I'm talking about e bikes.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Oh e bikes, Yeah, e.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Bikes, electric bikes. Peyton, what is your perspective on this
- 1:07Speaker 2: and what's going on?
- 1:08Speaker 5: Well, the e bikes have officially infiltrated my family's group chat.
- 1:13Speaker 5: My nephew King, He's going to be twelve in August,
- 1:16Speaker 5: and my sister sent out this huge PSA in our
- 1:18Speaker 5: family group chat saying like, I know King's Birthday's coming up, everybody,
- 1:22Speaker 5: do not buy him an e bike and the antie
- 1:25Speaker 5: and me wants to buy him an e bikes so bad, oh,
- 1:28Speaker 5: just to make her mad. Now why wouldn't Because I'm
- 1:31Speaker 5: also in all my mom group chat, like all my
- 1:33Speaker 5: mom Facebook groups, so I see all of the e
- 1:36Speaker 5: byke craze. But in my head, I'm thinking back and
- 1:39Speaker 5: like when I was his age, younger than that, we
- 1:42Speaker 5: were driving those mini mopeds all around town, and I'm like,
- 1:45Speaker 5: it's so bizarre because we need to have some regulations,
- 1:48Speaker 5: but also I feel like we should be. There's some
- 1:50Speaker 5: kids out there that are following the laws of the
- 1:53Speaker 5: road and they're perfectly fine out there, but it has
- 1:56Speaker 5: officially infiltrated my house.
- 1:57Speaker 3: So in our neighborhood.
- 1:59Speaker 4: In our neighborhood, they are not following the rules, and
- 2:01Speaker 4: I swear somebody is gonna die. They pop wheelies and
- 2:04Speaker 4: fly down our street and you can't see them, and
- 2:08Speaker 4: they have their helmets on without the strap and they're
- 2:11Speaker 4: driving along. It's so dangerous. It makes me so nervous.
- 2:15Speaker 5: I saw a mom in the Chandler area had actually
- 2:18Speaker 5: gotten arrested because her son was riding on an e
- 2:22Speaker 5: bike and he actually had gotten hit.
- 2:24Speaker 3: It had some injuries.
- 2:25Speaker 5: But the mom got arrested because she knew he was
- 2:27Speaker 5: driving on the road like without a license, and that
- 2:30Speaker 5: she got arrested. No, she got put in the.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Handcuffs because he didn't. You have to have a license
- 2:38Speaker 3: to do.
- 2:38Speaker 5: For some of them, they have certain models and modes.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Of these because they go faster than the speed limit.
- 2:44Speaker 5: They're basically motorcycles.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Well that's what I see in our neighborhood a lot.
- 2:47Speaker 2: And I was talking to my neighbor about it. He
- 2:50Speaker 2: wouldn't be my neighbor. He's like a quadruple black belt badass,
- 2:54Speaker 2: and he chased them these kids down.
- 2:55Speaker 3: He said, look, he goes, I understand what you guys
- 2:58Speaker 3: are doing.
- 2:58Speaker 2: He goes, but you need to be careful because for
- 3:00Speaker 2: your safety, he goes, you're gonna get taken out.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Some truck because these guys are zigzagging everywhere.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And if you go to like there's a grocery store
- 3:06Speaker 2: parking lot, there's zigzagging through the parking lot like it's
- 3:08Speaker 2: it's bound to be. And I saw something that happen,
- 3:10Speaker 2: Like in Gilbert they put some rules. Now there's like
- 3:12Speaker 2: legal laws that have passed. I don't know what they are,
- 3:15Speaker 2: but I saw it in the news and I was like, man,
- 3:16Speaker 2: this is big. But this is what I was telling
- 3:18Speaker 2: Blake the other day. We were hearing were walking around
- 3:20Speaker 2: the block and then some by guys came by really fast, right,
- 3:24Speaker 2: and they like do the wheelies, they stick their legs,
- 3:26Speaker 2: are doing all these tricks. And I thought, are e
- 3:28Speaker 2: bikes to us? What like me on a skateboard was
- 3:33Speaker 2: to the older guys, Because when I was on a
- 3:35Speaker 2: skateboard and all my friends were skateboard were like those
- 3:37Speaker 2: udlums on skateboards.
- 3:38Speaker 3: They gotta follow the rules.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It's not electric and it's not like driving down the
- 3:42Speaker 4: street and you're popping wheelies and being terribly unsafe. I mean,
- 3:46Speaker 4: you can be safe unsafe on a skateboard, but not
- 3:49Speaker 4: like that.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I wonder if it's the same thing. It's kind of
- 3:51Speaker 2: the way like the the way music was when Elvis
- 3:53Speaker 2: came out rock and terrible up, I call it crap.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It's like, now it's what we do. It's great music.
- 4:04Speaker 2: We love music.
- 4:05Speaker 3: It's just something. Is our e bikes what skateboards were?
- 4:09Speaker 3: I think so right if it's.
- 4:11Speaker 5: A fair comparison, I know, I feel like maybe like
- 4:14Speaker 5: a motorized skateboard you'd be able to they have no comparison.
- 4:19Speaker 5: But it's like with these e bikes. It's like I
- 4:21Speaker 5: was driving down Gilbert Road the other day and there
- 4:24Speaker 5: was kids riding on the wrong side of the road,
- 4:26Speaker 5: popping wheels and flipping cars off, like that's out of pocket.
- 4:30Speaker 2: People were doing that on Yeah, they were skateboards, flipping
- 4:33Speaker 2: people off. We didn't even have helmets. Then we were
- 4:36Speaker 2: just like, you know, ten year twelve year old medal
- 4:38Speaker 2: the society. Yeah.
- 4:39Speaker 4: The sad thing about this whole thing is is e
- 4:42Speaker 4: bikes are fun. Like shout out to Pat Hickey. He
- 4:44Speaker 4: gave us two of them and we didn't want them, no,
- 4:47Speaker 4: but we have gone on date nights and it's been
- 4:50Speaker 4: fun on it.
- 4:51Speaker 3: But yeah, but those are not pop wheeling, and.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Those are bikes we have are the ones that you've
- 4:55Speaker 2: got to pedal and then you kind of go to
- 4:57Speaker 2: twelve bike. The e bikes that these kids have or
- 5:00Speaker 2: like seemed like motorcycles and they're going right, I mean
- 5:02Speaker 2: right pedals, some don't.
- 5:03Speaker 5: That's why the classification of whatever bike it is. That's
- 5:06Speaker 5: why like the police officers are arresting their parents because
- 5:09Speaker 5: they're like, you.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Need to know what you're putting your child.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I haven't seen that the parents getting arrested. That's crazy.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I've always seen.
- 5:15Speaker 5: One article on it though.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 4: You know. One other thing is like our son Jake,
- 5:19Speaker 4: had one of those mini bikes and he I don't
- 5:21Speaker 4: know what he did to it, but he made it
- 5:23Speaker 4: so it was faster, do you remember, but like some
- 5:25Speaker 4: pin in it.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Or something whatever they get going around that sucker was fast.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a lot of fun to ride.
- 5:31Speaker 2: But he followed the rules and he wore a helmet
- 5:32Speaker 2: and he just did it up and down our street
- 5:34Speaker 2: and he couldn't pup with because they're so heavy anyway,
- 5:38Speaker 2: just putting it out there your take on e bikes.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I think eventually some people are going to get like,
- 5:43Speaker 2: I haven't heard of a kid on me by getting
- 5:45Speaker 2: hit yet.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Oh yeah, kids are gonna hit all the time. They are.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I haven't seen it, you know. Also, I get my
- 5:49Speaker 2: news from I get my news on Instagram. Now that
- 5:53Speaker 2: I've talked about, my phone probably picked up and I'll
- 5:54Speaker 2: be getting all these e bikes stories.
- 5:56Speaker 5: I feel like all the e bike stuff is truly
- 5:57Speaker 5: just on Facebook, right, Is.
- 5:59Speaker 3: That all the moms?
- 6:00Speaker 5: All the moms?
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 6:01Speaker 2: All right, Well, Blake's gonna hang out with this this morning.
- 6:04Speaker 2: So thank you Han, thanks for filling in for Kyle.
