- 0:00Speaker 1: Kyle, what do we need to know today?
- 0:01Speaker 2: This sounds like it could be a movie.
- 0:03Speaker 3: So a pilot on a fly Dubai flight allegedly stabbed
- 0:07Speaker 3: his co-pilot and then tried to hijack and crash the plane.
- 0:11Speaker 3: But passengers managed to overpower him. And somehow a passenger
- 0:15Speaker 3: who happens to be a plumber by trade took control
- 0:19Speaker 3: of the airplane and literally helped land it safely to
- 0:22Speaker 3: the ground.
- 0:23Speaker 2: It was terrifying. A stunt that probably he never saw
- 0:27Speaker 2: himself doing.
- 0:28Speaker 3: The pilot that was stabbed was smart enough to unlock
- 0:33Speaker 3: the door to the cockpit as he was fighting the guy.
- 0:36Speaker 3: They've detained the guy, but this is just absolutely insane.
- 0:41Speaker 3: People on the flight landed safely, which is.
- 0:43Speaker 2: That's a miracle. Yeah, I mean, which definitely... an amazing thing.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Now, if you bought your health insurance through a federal
- 0:51Speaker 3: ACA marketplace, you may want to keep an eye on
- 0:53Speaker 3: your mailbox because the government says they are sending a
- 0:58Speaker 3: $ 500 refund check to about a million people across 30 states.
- 1:02Speaker 3: The administration says those people were overcharged through marketplace user fees.
- 1:06Speaker 2: During the Biden administration. And so now they want you
- 1:08Speaker 2: to have your money back, which is great. So keep
- 1:10Speaker 2: an eye on that if that applies to you.
- 1:13Speaker 3: DoorDash says they're about to test drone delivery with restaurants
- 1:15Speaker 3: like Chipotle and Popeyes. In the early trials of the
- 1:19Speaker 3: actual flight, the food got to the person's house within five.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Minutes of ordering. Oh, that's awesome. That's insane. That's like,
- 1:28Speaker 2: that's faster than a drive-thru almost. It's really crazy.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Like I said, it's just in the testing stages right now,
- 1:34Speaker 3: but pretty cool as to what could come when it
- 1:37Speaker 3: comes to food delivery. Today technically starts Arizona's new water year,
- 1:42Speaker 3: and they say there's some pretty major changes coming that
- 1:44Speaker 3: kind of sound crazy until you get the context. So
- 1:47Speaker 3: like if you're hearing Arizona's losing a huge chunk of
- 1:50Speaker 3: the Colorado River water and wondering like, so does this
- 1:53Speaker 3: mean I'm going to Need to start taking.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Like three minute showers right now?
- 1:57Speaker 3: No, nothing changes with the water coming out of your
- 2:00Speaker 3: faucet today. And they say the cuts don't even actually
- 2:03Speaker 3: kick in until January. But they say the bigger issue
- 2:06Speaker 3: is kind of down the road because Lake Mead and
- 2:08Speaker 3: Lake Powell are still really low. So Arizona and other
- 2:11Speaker 3: states that depend on the Colorado River have to figure
- 2:13Speaker 3: out how we make less water stretch a whole lot further.
- 2:17Speaker 2: This is something that I've seen kind of like on
- 2:19Speaker 2: social media. I see this every year. I'm like, oh
- 2:21Speaker 2: my gosh, that's so cool. I kind of wish I
- 2:23Speaker 2: knew about this sooner. So seeing this story, I'm like,
- 2:25Speaker 2: I got to share this with you because this is sooner.
- 2:28Speaker 3: So we are three weeks away from Scottsdale's big hot
- 2:32Speaker 3: air balloon Halloween event.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Have you ever seen it? It's like the spooktacular hot
- 2:35Speaker 2: air balloon festival. People go and you go there and
- 2:38Speaker 2: at Salt.
- 2:38Speaker 3: River Field, they have all of these glowing tethered hot
- 2:41Speaker 3: air balloons.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And it just looks like such a cool, fun family event.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Jojo's like, I don't want to go anywhere.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I don't want to go to the house. No, my
- 2:48Speaker 1: wife is going next week to Albuquerque. Oh, that's a
- 2:51Speaker 1: big one there. Well, the Balloon Festival, because her sister
- 2:54Speaker 1: is a hot air balloon pilot.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Oh, I wonder if she'll maybe come here, too, for
- 2:58Speaker 2: one of them. But yeah, it's three weeks away. So
- 3:00Speaker 2: it's that weekend of October 23rd, 25th. If you've seen
- 3:03Speaker 2: it on social.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Media and you wish you got a heads up, here's
- 3:05Speaker 3: your heads up.
- 3:06Speaker 2: And that's what you need to know.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Blake's sister, Brenda. Has her own hot air balloon. She's
- 3:11Speaker 1: a pilot. And the name of the balloon is Jelly Bean.
- 3:13Speaker 2: That's so cute.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's pretty cute.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I love that. Where do you keep a hot air balloon? Like,
- 3:17Speaker 2: does she just keep it in her garage?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Does it say hot air balloon pilot?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Well, I thought you were her brother-in-law that you might
- 3:23Speaker 2: know that answer.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I don't really talk to her.
- 3:25Speaker 2: How dare you ask a follow-up question on this show?
- 3:27Speaker 1: I don't really talk. In fact, yesterday I was watching
- 3:30Speaker 1: the new episode of Ted Lasso and Blake's other sister
- 3:32Speaker 1: came over. Brooke's a really nice person. But they were
- 3:34Speaker 1: going to dinner to do their thing. So I made
- 3:37Speaker 1: my smoothie and I was going to watch Ted Lasso
- 3:39Speaker 1: and she talked to me the whole time. I had
- 3:41Speaker 1: to do that thing where I was like pausing.
- 3:45Speaker 2: You had to do that thing.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Shana, good morning. You're on the air.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Hey, so Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and
- 3:55Speaker 4: John Jay, you were going over like top costumes. So
- 3:58Speaker 4: I just wanted to share what me and my husband
- 4:00Speaker 4: dressed up last year. We actually won second place in
- 4:03Speaker 4: a costume contest for our neighborhood and And he was
- 4:07Speaker 4: a Costco worker and I was a hot dog.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Cute.
- 4:13Speaker 1: That's cute. Was there prize money involved?
- 4:18Speaker 4: No, but I got a bottle of Boone's Farm.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Same.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Classic.
- 4:23Speaker 4: You know what, though?
- 4:24Speaker 1: He kind of got it easy because I would think
- 4:26Speaker 1: a Costco worker would be a comfortable outfit where I
- 4:28Speaker 1: don't think a hot dog costume would be that comfortable. Well,
- 4:31Speaker 1: check this out. What's the grand prize of the thing
- 4:32Speaker 1: you guys are hosting? It's like a lot of money.
- 4:35Speaker 2: There's $ 15, 000 in prizes.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Get that hot dog costume, Shauna. Bring it on, girl.
- 4:40Speaker 2: You can win.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Thanks, Shauna.
- 4:44Speaker 4: We even passed around candy in little cups as like
- 4:48Speaker 4: hors d'oeuvres for the sample people.
- 4:50Speaker 2: That's a good costume.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Thanks, Shauna. Cynthia, good morning. You're on the air. Cynthia?
- 5:00Speaker 5: Hi, good morning.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 5:03Speaker 5: John Jay, I wanted to see if you could throw
- 5:06Speaker 5: my daughter a prayer. I know you do that and
- 5:08Speaker 5: people have requested it, but my daughter is a recent graduate.
- 5:13Speaker 5: She's a biomedical engineer, recent graduate from GCU College, and
- 5:18Speaker 5: she's actually traveling to Taiwan for five weeks today for work.
- 5:22Speaker 5: So I'm super excited. My mama heart's kind of going
- 5:25Speaker 5: in a million different directions. I'm nervous, happy, excited, proud.
- 5:28Speaker 5: But I definitely would love to pray her.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Let's throw that prayer.
- 5:31Speaker 5: She's only 22, my baby.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Here we go. Here we go, pray for her. There
- 5:35Speaker 1: you go. How exciting for her to be 22 years
- 5:39Speaker 1: old and go to Taiwan. And you're there just for
- 5:40Speaker 1: the right amount of time where you can say, I
- 5:42Speaker 1: lived in another country. That's a good point. That's pretty cool.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Yes. That's pretty cool, Cynthia. Yes, for five weeks. Yes.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You must be very proud.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I appreciate it. All right. Thanks for listening. Proud.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Me and my husband are proud.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Have a great day.
- 5:53Speaker 1: You too.
