- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: Hey everybody, Brian Smith here with the IM team series and your daily influence and today I am taking a turn away from some of the business centric deep thought work we do and leaning into one of the passions that you all know we have here at IA and the IM team series, which is art has most of you might remember
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: Last year we unveiled our new headquarters and we did an art and advisor event.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: My walls are adorned with art from all over the world, from street artists and galleries and places that I visit and that Renee and I visit.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: Every time that we travel and today I have an amazing guest from India,
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty to worry is an artist who is when you see her work, I think you'll appreciate what goes into it and we're going to ask her some questions about her approach and her philosophy and her passion.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: So, pretty thank you so much for joining us today on Daily Influence.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much, me and Salot.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm happy to be invited here.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Happy to share my journey.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, one of the things that I always find fascinating is where artists get their inspiration.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: So, my question for you, videos, when you begin a piece, how much of it is intentionally thought of intentionally designed versus just discovery in that moment.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: How has that balance evolved for you?
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: How has it helped you to begin and grow as an artist?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: okay I think that's a very good question and then when I paint so I am mostly a contemporary wildlife artist but when people often ask me how do I choose my subjects and I will always answer them that I'm not choosing them like and if I have to tell you that these subjects they're not very random they just come to me as in I just sort of kind of get a download that this is a
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, any fees that I'm creating, they represent either power, freedom, fashion, right, depth.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: So, all these subjects that I'm choosing are basically sort of emotions, and I want to portray emotions through animals.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: So, any be that I'm making is basically my way of portray emotions that are like buried inside me and it's a big leave for me because I was
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: In the past, I was actually ID company, right?
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: I was working for corporate for 17 years and I took a big leap of becoming a full-time artist.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: So this is of my way of showing what is going inside my head with these in-nimbals and very motions.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have you found that the animals that you paint have a changed, in other words, from mammals to birds?
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have a preference?
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: So initially I was trying, I think a lot of animals, but I'm always attracted to
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: So these are like I'm most attracted towards either and I find myself going over and over at painting Eagle in different styles, forms, emotions, techniques, whatever right and now I'm creating my own collector base of bigger painting which is 3 by 3 feet paintings and I'm focusing more on the
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: but also want to show intricate details and the emotion that they can be from day-to-day life.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I have noticed that they are not very different from human.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: So if we feel happy, we can show that happiness and the image size also, if we feel sad, we can also show that sadness and their eyes as well.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like all parts of a forest.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: that is awesome.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, there's this perception out there that art is purely creative.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: And however, you know, sustain success almost in any field requires discipline.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: So, what does your structure or what does your process look like behind the scenes that allows your creativity to actually produce the work and to keep you moving forward?
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I was always an art kid.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like since childhood I was very much interested in art and I used to do.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the drawing and painting was my favorite subject to do.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: But the life to cover and I kind of lost that touched with me.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: But the creativity was somewhere within me in every form.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I would like creating handmade creating cards if I had to give to anyone and sort of those things.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll be very excited about celebrating any things.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: past six years I have I think so I took a leap last year but from past six years I've been continuously painting and when I started taking the seriously I just told myself that I want to upskill myself I like I have to I would to develop right so one thing is you study art.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: And for me, it would be like self study that I did, I did not go to any professional school or anything or college.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: But I studied by myself, one thing that made a huge difference in my artistic career was practicing day.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: No matter what happened, I used to get up at Syri 30 a.m. in the
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: morning and I'll be like dedicating that out of 5.30 to 6 a.m. and I'll paint day even if it is half or or 15 minutes or one hour if I can stretch it one thing that change was practicing day so I started my journey with
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: very important for me that even if I get 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes a day, I will still practice something even in a small sketchbook.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that's that's one thing that is making the huge difference which comes as a discipline.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: But you have to tell yourself that you have to you have to you have to keep prior, you have to upscale yourself, you have to learn.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think learning something that never stops, be it any other field.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think that is very important for you.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're passionate about it, it becomes very easy for you to do it.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, those are amazing words because, you know, there's a saying out there that practice makes perfect.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: I disagree.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: practice, practice creates improvement and, you know, I don't think anything can ever be perfect, but I think everything could be improved and what you just said is that consistency and practicing, especially if you have passion, can lead to continuous improvement that can help motivate you and move you forward into that passion even better.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for sharing
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: Actions for us to follow.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: Look one thing about art that I like to think of it as is, and this is what we think of here as the I and team series, you know, the I stands for influence as well as individuals.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: So your work influence as how people.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: feel how they think, even how they interpret the world they're looking at.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: So when you create are you consciously thinking about that influence or is it something that emerges after the work is complete?
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I think everyone has a different perspective to why R. So when one person sees it, they can see the artwork and intermediate different meaning towards it.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: But when I am actually doing it, I have a raw feeling of how I wanted.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: look like in the end, right?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: So for example there was a one of the biggest tiger pieces that I painted and I in that moment when I was painting I was just only thinking about how I was not following this passion for a long, long time.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: listening to every one in the family and typical norms of what the success should look like.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: I never followed this path, right?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: So while I was painting, I just had that kind of feeling that this is me, this is the new me which is unapologically white, basically right, not no hidden feelings, nothing.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: This is the draw on us of someone who wants to follow the passion.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: But that kind of thought I had when I was painting that.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: But of course, when people look at the art, they interpret, and I think people interpret on what is going on in their mind when they see or what phase of...
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: of life they are in when they see an artwork that kind of relation, right?
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: So art is not something that I have to put a definition on it, but a person who sees it, I think the art speaks to the person itself, and they interpret it in a way of what they are doing their life, where they are spiritually aligned in their life, what is happening in their life,
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: Well, thank you for sharing that.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_02]: I have one last question.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's, uh, well, what it is is what do you hope people will walk away with after experiencing your art?
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think they will carry a feeling of solkulness and, uh, to when they see my painting, I think they can read emotions in the painting.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: that you are not meant to be basically hidden, right?
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: You, you can do whatever you want if you put your mind into it.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: So you don't have to hide yourself in order to fit in the world.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: that is awesome.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I think what I heard you say is that you hope they experience whatever positive emotion that they can that will help them understand that they matter and that they what they do and what they say and what they express matters.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: And you're doing that through your art and they have an opportunity to do that also through whatever it is they do.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for putting that nicely into words.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that's what I am.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're welcome, Curdy.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: So do me a favor and share with our viewers and listeners, how they can experience your art, how they can get in contact with you.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: We're also going to put this information in the description of this episode so that people can reference it and go back to it.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: But would you share that with them, please?
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, so I'm an artist based out of India, Marash Pune.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: I do have my website, which is www.kritithivari.com.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: I have all my available artworks in there.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: I do also have a custom commission page.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: I have an artist page and there are two wildlife.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: while the conservation that I'm supporting, so they can read all about that.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then other than that, I'm also on all social media.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: So you do Instagram, so they can also find me Instagram, add to the very fine arts on Instagram.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm available on all these places.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.

- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I look forward to diving deeper into your watching you evolve and watching your art influence the world and help people to connect with it in always they can.
