- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody
- 0:07Speaker 1: you are listening to the voice, come on, dig.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Me now on and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man,
- 0:14Speaker 2: oh man, oh man? How good is God to me?
- 0:17Speaker 1: And part of the mission and the reason that I
- 0:20Speaker 1: have a radio show is to is to become a
- 0:24Speaker 1: share of more and more of a share of you know.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I used to hear my mother say it to me
- 0:29Speaker 1: all the time. But God blesses you to become a blessing.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And I think the more you understand that about yourself,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I think the more blessings will flow your way. I
- 0:38Speaker 1: think that once you understand the principle that.
- 0:43Speaker 2: You know.
- 0:44Speaker 1: But it's kind of tied together with some other scriptures,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and I'm not too knowledgeable about them, of course, as usual,
- 0:50Speaker 1: but I do know what I've heard, you know, And
- 0:54Speaker 1: you know, if you look at something simple as do
- 0:56Speaker 1: unto others as you would have them do unto you,
- 1:00Speaker 1: wouldn't you want somebody to help you if you needed help.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I just know how to get it down there to
- 1:05Speaker 1: where I've been able to understand it. If there's a
- 1:10Speaker 1: scripture similar that it says do unto others as you
- 1:13Speaker 1: would have them do unto you, or if that's you know,
- 1:19Speaker 1: in a prayer, would not you want somebody to help
- 1:23Speaker 1: you if you needed help. You've heard you reap what
- 1:29Speaker 1: you sow. Do you understand that if you so discord,
- 1:35Speaker 1: that discord is gonna come your way. That if you hate,
- 1:39Speaker 1: hate gonna come your way. If you blog nothing but
- 1:43Speaker 1: negative comments about people, your life will be filled with negativity.
- 1:48Speaker 1: If all you do is talk about people, then guess
- 1:50Speaker 1: what somebody got to turn that gun around and talk
- 1:53Speaker 1: about you. See, it just stands to reason. So what
- 1:58Speaker 1: I've learned in my life life and through all the
- 2:01Speaker 1: trials and tribulations that I've had, is to take those
- 2:06Speaker 1: lessons and share them with people in case you ain't
- 2:09Speaker 1: heard it from somebody else. See sometimes, and the reason
- 2:13Speaker 1: it seems like I'm redundant at times is which I am,
- 2:17Speaker 1: is because I'm always trying to find a different way
- 2:20Speaker 1: to say the same thing. Because it's a funny thing. Man,
- 2:24Speaker 1: You got to hear it a certain way for it
- 2:26Speaker 1: to click with you. How many times have I heard
- 2:32Speaker 1: a saying and then I heard it a different way
- 2:36Speaker 1: that it clicked with me? You know, I've heard this
- 2:41Speaker 1: saying right here. Remember this now, everybody's not happy for you.
- 2:46Speaker 1: We've all heard that, right, everybody's not happy for you.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Well that's very simple. Yeah, I don't need no explanation.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That simply means of all the people you know or
- 2:57Speaker 1: do not know, when something happened to you and you
- 3:01Speaker 1: celebrating it, everybody not gonna join in on the celebration.
- 3:05Speaker 1: That's all that is. But then you take it one
- 3:08Speaker 1: step further. My father used to say something to me
- 3:10Speaker 1: all the time. He says, son, everybody come with you,
- 3:13Speaker 1: can't go with you. I didn't get that when I
- 3:15Speaker 1: was fifteen. Everybody come with you, can't go with you.
- 3:18Speaker 1: He said, you're gonna lose some of these friends you
- 3:20Speaker 1: got along the way. But I don't care where you
- 3:24Speaker 1: get in life. Know this right here, everybody can't go
- 3:28Speaker 1: with you. If you are constantly trying to improve yourself,
- 3:31Speaker 1: you constantly have to take assessment of the people around you.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Because if you are going to continue to go and
- 3:38Speaker 1: continue to grow, then guess what you got to have
- 3:41Speaker 1: people that's on the goal and willing to grow, or else,
- 3:45Speaker 1: guess what you're gonna learn the valuable lesson you know.
- 3:50Speaker 1: The late boxing promoter butch Lewis. I was talking with
- 3:54Speaker 1: butch Lewis one time, and man with a good brother. Man,
- 3:58Speaker 1: He say, every success for man is doing what I
- 4:02Speaker 1: call he got rope work to do. He got rope
- 4:05Speaker 1: work to do. He got to put in work on rope.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And I'm sitting there listening to butch Lewis and all
- 4:12Speaker 1: the money he had made and all the people's lives
- 4:14Speaker 1: he had changed, and all of the moves he was making.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And he's an incredible skills as a negotiator on behalf
- 4:20Speaker 1: of some very very wealthy people. He was just an
- 4:23Speaker 1: amazing man with no education, but he read everything. He
- 4:27Speaker 1: butch Lewis read all the papers, all the periodicals. That
- 4:31Speaker 1: brother knew everything. He said, you got to put in rope.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And I was sitting there listening. He said, here's the analogy,
- 4:38Speaker 1: little brother. He said, you are on rope. There's a
- 4:42Speaker 1: thick rope. You have on no shirt, you have on
- 4:45Speaker 1: some tattered clothes. You have on no shoes. Your shorts
- 4:50Speaker 1: is cut off just below the knee and they tattered,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and you got dirt on you and your sweating.
- 4:55Speaker 2: There's this huge, huge raw rope over your shoulder. There's
- 5:00Speaker 2: burn marks on all of your shoulder. Connected to that
- 5:03Speaker 2: rope is a wagon. That wagon has all your weight.
- 5:08Speaker 1: On it, all your responsibilities, all the people you're responsible for,
- 5:13Speaker 1: all your children, your wife, your family members, your employees,
- 5:18Speaker 1: your coworkers, your friends. They are all on that wagon. Man,
- 5:23Speaker 1: They just sitting there. He's saying, what you gotta do
- 5:26Speaker 1: is you gotta pull that wagon up the heel.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:28Speaker 1: The only thing with it is can't nobody help you
- 5:31Speaker 1: pull your wagon.
- 5:33Speaker 2: You pull your wagon alone.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He say, Now, what you can do along the way
- 5:38Speaker 1: of pulling your wagon is you can find.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yourself a good wife, a good woman. He say. Now,
- 5:43Speaker 2: what that woman does is she get down.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Off the wagon. She fan you while you pull it.
- 5:48Speaker 1: She put water on you while you pull it. She
- 5:51Speaker 1: puts stuff in your mouth while you pull it. She
- 5:53Speaker 1: kicked rocks out the weight while you pull it. But
- 5:56Speaker 1: she but she pull it for you. But she is
- 5:59Speaker 1: equally as important and as you are on the pull
- 6:01Speaker 1: of the rope. He say, you hear me clearly, now,
- 6:04Speaker 1: young soldier, He said, nah, I got this here. He says,
- 6:07Speaker 1: people on your wagon that you're responsible for, But you
- 6:10Speaker 1: want the people on your wagon to help you get
- 6:13Speaker 1: your wagon to the top. So what you hope is
- 6:16Speaker 1: that they got their foot hanging over the side pushing,
- 6:20Speaker 1: They got one leg over the back, or maybe both
- 6:23Speaker 1: legs over the back pushing. They got they might have
- 6:26Speaker 1: their butt on the wagon, but they push you with
- 6:28Speaker 1: both legs they back facing your back, maybe some of
- 6:31Speaker 1: them facing you when one of them got left leg
- 6:33Speaker 1: hanging over trying to push. And you hope that all
- 6:36Speaker 1: them people on the wagon you pulling is back there
- 6:39Speaker 1: at least trying to help the wagon get to the
- 6:41Speaker 1: top of the hill.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Here go your problem.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Though everybody ain't pushing, everybody ain't pulling, ain't everybody ain't pulling,
- 6:49Speaker 1: Everybody ain't kicking rocks out the way. You got some
- 6:51Speaker 1: people on your wagon that's just laying on the wagon,
- 6:55Speaker 1: drinking lemonade, looking at you, talking about how long it's
- 6:59Speaker 1: taking you to get your wagon up to the top,
- 7:01Speaker 1: looking at you, talking about why this wagon so slow.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Then when you start picking up picking up speed, they
- 7:07Speaker 1: want you to.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Pull harder, you to pull faster, you to pull more.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Then they want you to throw what you then earned
- 7:14Speaker 1: on the way up the hill backed on the wagon
- 7:16Speaker 1: so they can have mo But guess what they ain't
- 7:18Speaker 1: helping you get more, but they got a sense of
- 7:21Speaker 1: entitlement that since you got more, they should have mo
- 7:24Speaker 1: Everybody come with you can't go with you. Sometimes you
- 7:28Speaker 1: gotta kick the people off the wagon that ain't pushing
- 7:31Speaker 1: and pull it and say, hey man, I'm sorry. I
- 7:34Speaker 1: thought I could do this with you, and I thought
- 7:36Speaker 1: you was doing with me. But it's clear to me
- 7:38Speaker 1: you ain't nothing but dead weight, and it ain't my
- 7:41Speaker 1: responsibility to carry dead weight anymore. I have carried you
- 7:44Speaker 1: as long as I have to carry you. You are
- 7:47Speaker 1: no longer my responsibility. I'm responsible for my family, my wife,
- 7:51Speaker 1: my children. I'm not responsible for you. You got to get
- 7:54Speaker 1: off my wagon because I'm a man on rope. I'm
- 7:57Speaker 1: on a mission, baby, I'm pulling here.
