- 0:39Speaker 5: of course.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Good morning. My name is Assistant Special Agent in Charge

- 0:50Speaker 4: a proffer of is Maxwell. The date is July twenty
- 0:55Speaker 4: fourth and the time is ten twelve am.
- 1:02Speaker 1: This interview is being recorded, and my name is Todd
- 1:08Speaker 1: Rans I'm Jeff Return General. And before we start formally
- 1:14Speaker 1: asking questions of miss Maxwell, I'm gonna put on the record.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Everybody that's in this room, in addition to me trying
- 1:24Speaker 5: to you Diego Diego Postana Associate Deputy Tarny General and
- 1:28Speaker 5: then you heard from Special Agent in Charge.

- 1:33Speaker 5: States Marshall Services here as well. And then David.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yes, this is David Oscar Marcus and I'm counsel for

- 1:44Speaker 2: My name is the Esapion and I'm counsel for Glenn Maxwell.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Her name is Melison Maddon, and I'm counseled for Glen Maxwell.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Go ahead, and I'm I'm Glen Maxwell. Good morning. That's Maxwell.
- 1:59Speaker 5: How are you okay?
- 2:02Speaker 1: So before we started recording, we've met for a few minutes.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I introduced myself and we've chatted, and now I told
- 2:09Speaker 1: you that we were going on the record. And before
- 2:12Speaker 1: we start asking questions, I know that you've been given
- 2:15Speaker 1: by your lawyer.
- 2:18Speaker 5: A copy of what's called a profit.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Agreement, and I just want to spend two minutes making
- 2:24Speaker 1: sure that you understand what governs our conversation today. The
- 2:30Speaker 1: most important part of this agreement is that this isn't
- 2:33Speaker 1: a cooperation agreement, meaning that by you meeting with us.
- 2:36Speaker 5: Today, we're really just meeting. I'm not promising to do anything.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I'm not promising to ask Judge Nathan or any of
- 2:44Speaker 1: the judges have been assigned to your case to do anything.
- 2:48Speaker 1: We're just talking and so that's the most important part
- 2:52Speaker 1: of this agreement.
- 2:54Speaker 5: However, almost as.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Important is the fact that what this agreement does for
- 2:59Speaker 1: you is it gives you protection.
- 3:01Speaker 5: So what it.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Means is that the government cannot use what you say
- 3:05Speaker 1: today against you, with some exceptions, which we'll talk about
- 3:09Speaker 1: in a minute, but whatever you talk about today, you
- 3:12Speaker 1: have what's called immunity. So that means that the words
- 3:15Speaker 1: that you say today we cannot use against you in
- 3:18Speaker 1: a case in chief if we were ever to bring one.
- 3:21Speaker 6: Okay, thank you.
- 3:23Speaker 1: There's exceptions to that, the most meaningful one of which
- 3:26Speaker 1: is that if you say something today that's not true,
- 3:29Speaker 1: that's a lie, we can bring a prosecution against you
- 3:32Speaker 1: for what's called false statements.
- 3:34Speaker 5: So I'm a federal officer, I have several officers.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Here, the FBI is here, and if you lie to
- 3:42Speaker 1: someone that's like me or like Special Agent Horn, it's
- 3:46Speaker 1: a crime.
- 3:47Speaker 5: So you have to be truthful. The other exception to
- 3:50Speaker 5: this that doesn't necessarily apply.
- 3:52Speaker 7: Directly to you, but if there ever was a retrial
- 3:55Speaker 7: in your case, or if there ever was a criminal
- 3:59Speaker 7: case a future criminal case against you and your lawyer,
- 4:03Speaker 7: or you said something different or took a position that's
- 4:08Speaker 7: different than what you say today, we can.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Then cross examine you or witness based upon what you
- 4:16Speaker 5: say today.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So it's a little bit nuanced, meaning I can't use
- 4:20Speaker 1: what you say against you in our case in chief. However,
- 4:23Speaker 1: if you were to testify, or if your lawyer called
- 4:27Speaker 1: a witness to testify and they said something that's totally
- 4:31Speaker 1: different than what you say today, we could then cross
- 4:33Speaker 1: examine you or the witness and say, hey, do you
- 4:36Speaker 1: remember when we met with miss Wax, when we met
- 4:38Speaker 1: with Miss Maxwell back in July twenty twenty five, she
- 4:42Speaker 1: told us and then say what she said.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Okay, I understand that.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Okay.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Other than that, I know you didn't have a lot
- 4:49Speaker 1: of time this morning to meet with mister Marcus, but
- 4:53Speaker 1: did you have a chance to go over this.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Briefly with him?
- 4:58Speaker 1: All right, So I've already signed it, as has especially
- 5:00Speaker 1: in Horn, and mister Marcus signed it as well, So
- 5:04Speaker 1: you got attend.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Please sign it right where it says clients, and I
- 5:09Speaker 5: will provide a copy of.
- 5:10Speaker 6: This to your lawyers.
- 5:12Speaker 5: So you guys have it. Okay, thank you. So, miss Maxwell,
- 5:20Speaker 5: about a week and a half ago or two weeks ago,
- 5:25Speaker 5: you see the life linking on that on those own, Yeah, there.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Is Okay, we're just confirming that it works, and it does,
- 5:37Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell.
- 5:38Speaker 5: I guess about a week and a half or.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Two weeks ago, mister Marcus reached out to me and
- 5:43Speaker 1: said that you wanted to speak with somebody from the
- 5:47Speaker 1: governments about not only your case, but about everything that's
- 5:53Speaker 1: been in the media and that's been publicized about mister Apps.
- 5:57Speaker 6: In your case.
- 5:58Speaker 2: That is true, and I did speak to him, and
- 6:00Speaker 2: I did ask him if or they did tell him
- 6:05Speaker 2: that I'm very keen to talk to anyone, because no
- 6:10Speaker 2: one in the government at any time ever in the
- 6:14Speaker 2: sits the reception of the case, so dating back to
- 6:17Speaker 2: the early two councilors, has ever spoken to me. And indeed,
- 6:23Speaker 2: uh I believe ever reached out to me at any
- 6:26Speaker 2: time to even speak to me, and that they proved
- 6:29Speaker 2: up hum when I was.
- 6:32Speaker 6: Indicted and prosecuted.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I believed that, or I understand I should say rather
- 6:39Speaker 2: that my attorneys at the time did tell the government
- 6:45Speaker 2: that I wanted to speak to him because I was
- 6:47Speaker 2: very keen to meet with anyone so that I could
- 6:52Speaker 2: tell or have them ask me any question. I've never
- 6:56Speaker 2: had any problem just to speak to anybody. And I
- 7:00Speaker 2: opened myself and I kept asking if they would me,
- 7:03Speaker 2: because that I could talk to them one for what
- 7:07Speaker 2: every reason the correctly don't happen.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Okay, I have questions that I want to ask you,
- 7:14Speaker 1: but I'm not If there's a path that questions should
- 7:20Speaker 1: be asked, I invite you to volunteer. The same thing
- 7:23Speaker 1: goes to your lawyers. Just to start a little bit,
- 7:27Speaker 1: very briefly, can you talk about when you first met
- 7:34Speaker 1: mister Epstein? I know that goes back a while, and
- 7:37Speaker 1: just very generally talk about your relationship with mister Epstein
- 7:41Speaker 1: from the time you met him all the way up
- 7:44Speaker 1: until his death.
- 7:47Speaker 6: I met mister Epstein in ninety one.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I've never heard of him or met him before, and
- 8:03Speaker 2: no one in my family had ever either. My father
- 8:07Speaker 2: never knew him, and I'll explain why.
- 8:09Speaker 6: That was the case.
- 8:11Speaker 5: I what did you where did where did you meet?
- 8:13Speaker 6: In?
- 8:14Speaker 2: I had a girlfriend who I was Yeah, i'd moved
- 8:20Speaker 2: to America briefly in uh, well, i'd moved to America in.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Nineteen ninety.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I moved It's a bit right. I'd come to visit
- 8:33Speaker 2: America in nineteen ninety.
- 8:34Speaker 6: I had been.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Running my own company upon until that time, which was
- 8:40Speaker 2: a company called Macture's corporate gifts. And I had also
- 8:46Speaker 2: been working for my father at the time. I've had
- 8:49Speaker 2: multiple jobs with When I was in nineteen ninety, I
- 8:54Speaker 2: was working with a new company of his newspaper that
- 9:01Speaker 2: he was launching, called The European and I was uh
- 9:05Speaker 2: in charge of launching a magazine to go with the
- 9:12Speaker 2: The europe m And I was traveling at that time
- 9:16Speaker 2: from England to America, uh because uh.
- 9:22Speaker 6: My father was.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Looking to what uh well, he'd also bought McMillan, the
- 9:28Speaker 2: publishing house, and he had purchased the New York Daily News.
- 9:34Speaker 2: And it's true saying that my father always wanted me
- 9:39Speaker 2: to come back full time, but that's a much longer story.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I don't think you need to go into at this time.
- 9:46Speaker 2: So uh, but I was always working with him. Well,
- 9:49Speaker 2: there was no escape thing. Who were, as it were,
- 9:52Speaker 2: to to work for him. So in nineteen ninety I
- 9:56Speaker 2: had come over to New York to help look at
- 10:02Speaker 2: some of that. He was having some advertising issues with
- 10:05Speaker 2: the New York Daily News and in fact a net
- 10:09Speaker 2: a make of met Donald Trump at that time because
- 10:12Speaker 2: my father was friendly with him and liked him very much,
- 10:17Speaker 2: and I think should be said that he also very
- 10:20Speaker 2: much liked Ivanna because she was also from Czechoslovakia, where
- 10:25Speaker 2: my dad was from. So I don't I don't remember
- 10:29Speaker 2: if I didn't with him or not. I've been nineteen
- 10:32Speaker 2: ninety with my dad, but I knew that. That's how
- 10:33Speaker 2: I knew.
- 10:34Speaker 6: About the lost the Trump.
- 10:37Speaker 5: And this was before you met.
- 10:39Speaker 2: This was before next Yes, So I was already going
- 10:43Speaker 2: about resent forwards in America and then in April of
- 10:50Speaker 2: nineteen ninety one by him to New York. But I
- 10:56Speaker 2: can't remember for what reason, what business reason, but there
- 10:58Speaker 2: was a business. It was something to do with my
- 10:59Speaker 2: dad at that time.
- 11:01Speaker 6: And a girlfriend of mine who am America and.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Told me, I've broken up with my long I've been
- 11:12Speaker 2: engaged getting the very long time boyfriend and we've broken up.
- 11:16Speaker 6: And she said, I quote, you know, as your girlfriends do.
- 11:18Speaker 6: I've got a guy to do to meet. Was like,
- 11:21Speaker 6: who is it? And she goes, it's he's been dating
- 11:24Speaker 6: my sister and you'll love him. He's looking for a wife.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I'm edging towards thirty. I don't need to tell you guys,
- 11:30Speaker 2: that's a very important moment. Pretty girl asked to think
- 11:33Speaker 2: about important things I should write. Be happy to meet
- 11:36Speaker 2: him and so sometimes in nineteen ninety one, now we're
- 11:41Speaker 2: in nineteen ninety one. I met him at his offices
- 11:48Speaker 2: then on Master and I think the most memory thing
- 11:55Speaker 2: I can think about that is he was wearing a tie,
- 11:57Speaker 2: which she didn't often give me.
- 11:58Speaker 6: It had a giant to my catch up steam. So
- 12:02Speaker 6: I was like, wow, okay, and that was housing.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Was your meeting at his office for you to meet
- 12:11Speaker 1: him just personally or were you Were you there for
- 12:14Speaker 1: work for later research?
- 12:15Speaker 2: No, I mean nothing about it. He just invited me
- 12:20Speaker 2: to come and have tea, I think, and I was like, tea,
- 12:23Speaker 2: that seemed dish okay. But what was unusual was in
- 12:25Speaker 2: his office. So I went to his offices and we
- 12:28Speaker 2: met and hinting, very engaging, and.
- 12:33Speaker 5: That was sad, so okay. So that's how you meet him.
- 12:36Speaker 5: So and again, I don't want to spend a lot
- 12:38Speaker 5: of time, you know, on.
- 12:42Speaker 1: This particular issue, but what happened with your relationship over
- 12:46Speaker 1: the years from the time you meet him in nineteen
- 12:49Speaker 1: ninety one up until the time he passed away.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Just get the highlights, okay.
- 12:54Speaker 2: So I was looking for real estate for my dad
- 13:01Speaker 2: to buy someone. Epstein told me that he was also
- 13:04Speaker 2: looking to me from his apartment and would I help him,
- 13:07Speaker 2: and I'm sure I'm looking at ready, so I could
- 13:10Speaker 2: look for him.
- 13:10Speaker 6: So that's how it started.
- 13:12Speaker 2: And then in nineteen ninety when my father passed away
- 13:16Speaker 2: and I returned to New York after that, originally to.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Know, come back and help with the family businesses, which
- 13:22Speaker 6: was a militia. And then at the back of my
- 13:29Speaker 6: father's passing hit the family and.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Of then we lost law our businesses, and my family
- 13:38Speaker 2: thought that would be best if I stayed in America
- 13:41Speaker 2: because of the intensity of the press and the drama
- 13:46Speaker 2: surrounding my father's death in England. So I stayed and
- 13:50Speaker 2: Epstein said, well, you can keep helping me, you know,
- 13:55Speaker 2: help me find our house and you can decorate the house,
- 13:58Speaker 2: and it they.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Called, okay you do.
- 14:01Speaker 5: Were you in a romantic relationship with her at this
- 14:04Speaker 5: point or just friends?
- 14:05Speaker 6: Just friends?
- 14:06Speaker 5: And while we're just uh. With respect to your father, there.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Have been multiple questions about whether he worked for any
- 14:17Speaker 1: intelligence agency.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Do you have any knowledge about that? I think not.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Certainly my father had background and intelligence during because he
- 14:27Speaker 2: was I think if he did in the second world,
- 14:32Speaker 2: or he was an intelligent British intelligence officer.
- 14:36Speaker 6: I think that my sort of belief.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Is that once you've been an intelligence office and your
- 14:41Speaker 2: kind of always, it doesn't mean that you're formally employed.
- 14:44Speaker 2: So I don't think my dad in any formal sense
- 14:47Speaker 2: was a you know, employed by the any agency. But
- 14:53Speaker 2: when you are very significant businessman politician, as my father was,
- 15:02Speaker 2: you meet with people over the time.
- 15:05Speaker 5: And.
- 15:08Speaker 6: I guess trade, business or ideas.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I think if that before under that definition, that's how
- 15:13Speaker 2: I would think, would now he certainly I have no
- 15:17Speaker 2: formal knowledge of anything specifically that he did in that thing.
- 15:21Speaker 2: But if you're asking me if I feel that he
- 15:23Speaker 2: did help people, the answer would be yes, I did.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Did your father and mister Epstein have a business relationship
- 15:31Speaker 1: over the years.
- 15:31Speaker 5: I know we're maybe jumping around a little bit.
- 15:33Speaker 6: They never met, so.
- 15:35Speaker 1: As far as you know, they've never even met.
- 15:37Speaker 2: No, I know they never I know they never met.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Well, how do you know they never met?
- 15:42Speaker 6: Just categorically no, they never met. Well because after in
- 15:47Speaker 6: nineteen ninety one, before my father died, he asked me.
- 15:52Speaker 2: If I'd met anybody interesting or whatever, you know, because
- 15:55Speaker 2: I was still trying not to be sucked back into
- 15:58Speaker 2: the family business.
- 16:00Speaker 6: And I told him that I had met mister Epstein.
- 16:02Speaker 6: And the reason why I shared that I'd met.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Mister Epstein because I believed at that time that Epstein
- 16:07Speaker 2: worked for best Urns and best Terns was one of
- 16:10Speaker 2: our banks. And I knew that my father was friendly
- 16:14Speaker 2: with both Jimmy Kine and with Ace Greenberg. So my
- 16:19Speaker 2: dad came Was it actually in New York? I think
- 16:22Speaker 2: if I made I don't think I had this conversation
- 16:24Speaker 2: on the phone, but I honestly we were talking thirty
- 16:27Speaker 2: years ago, so I'm not sure.
- 16:29Speaker 6: But if I maybe I told him this abating because
- 16:34Speaker 6: I have it. I know that what my dad did,
- 16:36Speaker 6: whether I saw it or whether he did it and
- 16:39Speaker 6: told me later that I don't remember.
- 16:41Speaker 2: But he called both Jimmy Caine and Ace Greenberg to
- 16:47Speaker 2: bar ask if what sort of guy he was and
- 16:50Speaker 2: was he even allowed to because but so.
- 16:56Speaker 5: They never they never met.
- 16:59Speaker 1: He didn't even know they knew some of the same people,
- 17:03Speaker 1: it sounds like were certainly the bear Stearns connection was
- 17:05Speaker 1: something that you that you.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Knew that they had.
- 17:08Speaker 2: No well, he never had a connection with Epstein. He
- 17:10Speaker 2: had a connection with the bank, I mean Epstein. I'd
- 17:13Speaker 2: never heard of him or new of him before, and
- 17:16Speaker 2: I certainly if my dad had known him right when
- 17:19Speaker 2: I said this, as Uri was, he didn't know who
- 17:20Speaker 2: he was. He so herang Ace and herang Jimmy to
- 17:24Speaker 2: ask if it was okay that I even knew him,
- 17:27Speaker 2: And I just wanted to explain briefly why.
- 17:30Speaker 6: My father would even to do such a thing. So
- 17:47Speaker 6: I've had some.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Interesting things that have happened in my life, and one
- 17:55Speaker 2: of them was to be found on a ira kidnapped
- 18:00Speaker 2: and murderessed.
- 18:03Speaker 6: And so uh after that happened, well that are other.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Related as I'm not gonna bore you with all the
- 18:12Speaker 2: horrible things in that thin but if you weren't, the
- 18:16Speaker 2: details of course by can.
- 18:18Speaker 6: But after that happened, my father wanted to put.
- 18:25Speaker 2: A lot of protection moviously, and I declined on the
- 18:29Speaker 2: grounds that that would be a very bit life restricting events.
- 18:35Speaker 6: You're all in law enforcement, I know you understand this, and.
- 18:40Speaker 2: And so he had told me that I would, you know,
- 18:45Speaker 2: would be taking my life in my own house and whatever.
- 18:48Speaker 2: And so I think after that event and several others
- 18:51Speaker 2: where I had school plays and a lot thing that
- 18:53Speaker 2: one has.
- 18:54Speaker 6: He was always quite protective of him, and so if
- 18:57Speaker 6: I met some ready, he would try and verified. But
- 19:01Speaker 6: they went I'm gonna do anything hideous and saying in
- 19:07Speaker 6: case you thought it was weird that he was called
- 19:08Speaker 6: Jimmy and an ace. It you may think it is,
- 19:13Speaker 6: but in my from my perspective, he was just because
- 19:16Speaker 6: he was concerned.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I was in America alone and he had an opportunity
- 19:22Speaker 2: to verify who this person was.
- 19:23Speaker 6: And so I don't know if I'm seeing the room anything.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I don't recall it, but I know that at some
- 19:27Speaker 2: point my father told me he's fine, you can see it.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Yeah, he's safe. Okay, Well, okay, so we.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Might come back and touch a little bit more on
- 19:38Speaker 5: that at some point. But yeah, I went down a
- 19:41Speaker 5: rabbit hole from it, that's right. I just wanted to well, no,
- 19:43Speaker 5: that's helpful, thank you.
- 19:44Speaker 1: So okay, so you're you're now in the nineties and
- 19:48Speaker 1: your friends with miss Epstein, your how the decorating the
- 19:52Speaker 1: house or the apartment.
- 19:54Speaker 5: What happens with your.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Relationship again, I know we're talking about a thirty five
- 19:59Speaker 1: year time sure or whatever.
- 20:01Speaker 3: All right, so this is only the end of part
- 20:03Speaker 3: one of a nearly seven hour interview. So there's a
- 20:09Speaker 3: lot of information in this thing. So anyway, this is Gil.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Thanks for listening. Please like, subscribe, share and comment. I
- 20:14Speaker 3: will have part two in part three in part four, five, six, seven, eight,
- 20:18Speaker 3: nine ten coming up in the next couple of days,
- 20:21Speaker 3: so a little by little, but this is the end
- 20:22Speaker 3: of part one. This is Gil, thanks for listening. Talk
- 20:24Speaker 3: to you later.
