- 0:04there we go talk to Elena? Can you hang on?
- 0:07I just got to finish this candy crush.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Very important things to do this morning, I understand.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Yeah, well I just bill, we're talking to a friend.
- 0:17Having actual interaction with real people is better.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Okay, Well send me an email Elena Wood from Nightingale College.
- 0:27How are you?
- 0:30Speaker 2: I am doing so great today. Thank you? How are you?
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm well? Thank you. Social media use healthy social media, yes,
- 0:39all right, let's do it.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Let's do it. So. The first tip that I have
- 0:45for you is to do your best to connect with
- 0:47loved ones. And this can be friends, family, people that
- 0:52you just simply care about and who are uplifting.
- 0:57Speaker 1: All right, Okay, I care a out lots of people,
- 1:01so it should be easy. Yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 2: The next tip is to follow and share inspiring stories.
- 1:10So if you can find accounts that are posting uplifting
- 1:15and inspiring or even informative types of stories and things
- 1:20like that, try and follow those people as well as
- 1:23share those on your own timeline or you know, whatever
- 1:27platform you're using.
- 1:28Speaker 3: They don't make fun of me. I follow Steve Gutenberg
- 1:34what on Instagram? He is a damn delight. His whole
- 1:40feed is nothing but positive. I know you can't picture it.
- 1:46Just trust What does he have to be positive about?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Oh, he's very successful. Is he doing what he's in producing?
- 1:54Speaker 3: And he just posts these really sweet, you know, simple
- 1:59night these videos, and.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I it's like, I love that.
- 2:04Speaker 1: It's you know. The old version of this, Elena, is
- 2:06that my grandmother, when I lived with my grandparents when
- 2:09I was in high school for a while, would daily
- 2:13put an article cut out of the Reader's Digest on
- 2:16my breakfast plate, you know, telling me about the evils
- 2:19of pre marital sex and cigarette smoking.
- 2:22Speaker 3: It's not uplifting, Bill, I'm talking about.
- 2:25Speaker 1: What you think it's great to have uplifted up to
- 2:29have pre marital sex. She was warning. She was this
- 2:33this cautionary.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Speaking more about like cute kittens.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yes, the little kitty hanging on the branch that says,
- 2:43hang in there.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Exactly, okay, exactly.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. What's next to, Elena?
- 2:53Speaker 2: The next tip is to connect carefully, and this I
- 2:59realized that we're gonna open a whole can of worms.
- 3:01I feel like here, but just looking at the people
- 3:05and the organizations that you're following and just making sure
- 3:09that they kind of pass the test, which is like uplifting,
- 3:15educational as well as true content. So try and verify
- 3:21that things are valid, and then also remember that you
- 3:24have full permission to unfollow and block any accounts that
- 3:30you no longer want to interact with.
- 3:32Speaker 1: That's right, I mean, it's really serious, and it's easy
- 3:35to get sucked into something. There are a lot of
- 3:38there are a lot of lonely people, a lot of
- 3:41people who you know, they don't find any self worth,
- 3:46self worth anywhere absolutely, and all of a sudden they're
- 3:50marching with the Proud Boys, you know.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's a really easy, easy wormhole to get into,
- 3:57I think. So, yeah, just be cautious, be mindful, and
- 4:01you'll be okay.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Next next one.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Is to have some sun. So try and find things
- 4:10that are engaging and entertaining, maybe a little sense of
- 4:15lightheartedness and adventure, things like that.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Go to the pigeon Show out in Gransville this weekend.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah that sounds.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Fun, don't Wiling thirteen?
- 4:28Speaker 2: I mean, I've never been. It would be something new.
- 4:31Speaker 1: At least a hundred breeds of different breeds of pigeons. Wow,
- 4:36it would be interesting.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean in real life experiences are very meaningful.
- 4:42Speaker 1: So yeah, and I.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Mean you go with someone you love.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's true. It's like, uh, the Wasatch
- 4:47Reptile show, you know, just at the stair at the
- 4:51fair Park. That's when you when you do that, you're
- 4:55doing something unusual. I thought we were talking about social
- 4:57media though, Well that's where you start, isn't that where
- 5:01you start?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Take sure on social media? Okay, okay. The next tip
- 5:09is to take a break and support others in doing
- 5:12the same. So feel free to delete the apps from
- 5:16your phone, to take a day, a week, a month
- 5:20off from it, and then if you have friends that
- 5:22are doing the same, do your best to support them
- 5:25and not say like, hey, I need you to come
- 5:27in like my post or whatever.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Okay, Elena, that we've we've run out of time and
- 5:32that's my Well I'm sorry, I'm really sorry about pigeons
- 5:37and reptiles. Why copy of Pigeon Fancy your magazine is overdue?
- 5:43Speaker 3: Well we'll post this though, and for more information where
- 5:45can people find that?
- 5:47Speaker 2: You can learn more about this, as well as Nightingale's
- 5:50amazing programs by visiting Nightingale Dot.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Edu and again I'm sorry.
- 5:56Speaker 2: You are good, have a great day, right, thank you.
- 6:00Speaker 1: By there we go okay,
