- 0:00Speaker 1: It's welcome.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Everybody, welcome. So this week's just this still real not
- 0:21Speaker 2: show Epsomber seven and seventy Vember fourteen, two Thousan twenty four,
- 0:25Speaker 2: Welcome to this week's edition of ass R TEA years
- 0:31Speaker 2: I am one after the show, I am Jack pack
- 0:34Speaker 2: joined every single week from my closet one of Doctor
- 0:36Speaker 2: frank landon Doctor Trade. This was the first time that
- 0:40Speaker 2: I spent just cleaving the baby spit up before the show.
- 0:44Speaker 3: My friend, Oh, so you told me what happened before
- 0:49Speaker 3: the show started.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Did you make your kid watch aw or something? Is that? Why?
- 0:53Speaker 3: Is that why he vomited all over the recording studio
- 0:55Speaker 3: so that way you couldn't do the show.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah, about two three minutes before I had sit down
- 1:00Speaker 2: on record, just I was holding them and I just
- 1:04Speaker 2: started hearing burping, wet purping, and looked down. I was like,
- 1:08Speaker 2: all right, I don't see either of my clothes. Looked
- 1:10Speaker 2: down a little bit more. I'm like, oh, it's all
- 1:12Speaker 2: over the floor, it's all over him, and it's a
- 1:15Speaker 2: right where I need to record tonight. So the upside.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Is dog and this is where dogs can't come in
- 1:22Speaker 3: handy all those gross as hell and you never will
- 1:25Speaker 3: like let your dog into your face again.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Dogs love spit.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Up really Okay, I guess it's a form of liquid, right.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Yeah, So they'll come through there and they'll take care
- 1:36Speaker 3: of a lot of it for you. So but just you
- 1:38Speaker 3: look at your dog, go, I love you, but you're
- 1:39Speaker 3: not coming near my face again for quite some time.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Who needs the farmer's dog or blue buffalo or wellness
- 1:49Speaker 2: when you've got your own child's throw up?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yeah, is crazy, something like I love because we have
- 1:56Speaker 3: the inside dog, and we have the outside dog, our
- 1:58Speaker 3: pyreentees that guards our little farm, and then we have
- 2:01Speaker 3: the bulldog on the inside, which people have heard him
- 2:03Speaker 3: snore and fart on the show before. But the other
- 2:06Speaker 3: great thing about that is they're also like garbage disposals
- 2:08Speaker 3: because like you got some leftovers, Oh, we have a dog,
- 2:11Speaker 3: we don't have to throw this out, give.
- 2:13Speaker 4: It to the dog. So yeah, it's great on some levels.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And then but they come in handy when your kid
- 2:21Speaker 3: decides he wants to vomit all over the floor.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it's one part domestic and animal, a second
- 2:28Speaker 2: part vacuum cleaner. So yeah, that is the life and
- 2:33Speaker 2: times of being a parent. It's been fun. I was
- 2:36Speaker 2: telling Doctor Trey before or doctor Trey knows I am
- 2:40Speaker 2: coming in from vacation. So spent a couple of days
- 2:43Speaker 2: down in Disney World with my son, my wife, son's
- 2:47Speaker 2: first trip in Disney, four and a half month old.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I was scared shitless, doctor Trey of traveling with a
- 2:53Speaker 2: child on a plane, And thankfully he was fantastic. He slept,
- 2:58Speaker 2: got fussy a little bit on the way home, but
- 3:01Speaker 2: that was really it. He was. He was great. I
- 3:04Speaker 2: lucked out, and I guess that has just prepared me
- 3:07Speaker 2: for when he can like walk and really become a
- 3:10Speaker 2: menace on an airplane.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Was he was your fear actual him being in pain?
- 3:15Speaker 3: Or was your fear him being an annoyance to other
- 3:18Speaker 3: people and that causing uh, like a it was air
- 3:21Speaker 3: rage battle or something where you know, somebody yells about
- 3:24Speaker 3: the kid. I'm playing us send for your kid. What
- 3:26Speaker 3: was it the what factor was it?
- 3:28Speaker 4: The edge of scared?
- 3:29Speaker 2: I think it's a little fifty to fifty right because
- 3:32Speaker 2: you don't know, Like I don't know what it was
- 3:34Speaker 2: like for you with your two children, But like anything
- 3:36Speaker 2: that happens, I'm like, is this hurting him? Like loud music.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Is it hurting him? Do I got to put the
- 3:42Speaker 2: headphones on? Is there any issues with you know, sending
- 3:46Speaker 2: and getting ready for landing in the planes, because I
- 3:49Speaker 2: don't know about other people, but especially when I have allergies,
- 3:53Speaker 2: it takes forever for my ears to pop, Like has
- 3:56Speaker 2: he got to be hurting from this? Yeah? And then
- 3:59Speaker 2: of course you don't want to cry because then you've
- 4:01Speaker 2: got some jackasset's kind to say something. So I guess
- 4:04Speaker 2: it was fifty to fifty of both. Yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I know my young like Sammy Sammy Franklin has not
- 4:10Speaker 3: been on a plane yet, so I haven't, but I
- 4:12Speaker 3: did that with my olt with my daughter, like she's
- 4:15Speaker 3: been on a couple of flights when she was very little.
- 4:17Speaker 4: It's the same thing.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Like I was worried about, like hers is more than
- 4:21Speaker 3: ear popping because she had she had, you know, have
- 4:23Speaker 3: tubes put her ears, so she had very nearrow ear canal.
- 4:26Speaker 4: So I was worried about that. Uh.
- 4:27Speaker 3: And then also like I was like, yeah, if anybody
- 4:29Speaker 3: yells at my daughter for crying on this plane, I
- 4:32Speaker 3: am going to jump over a seat and punch them
- 4:35Speaker 3: because I'm literally it was like a one to eighty.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Like before she came along, I was like, got like, jeez, kitch,
- 4:40Speaker 3: is quiet your kid up? And then when I had
- 4:42Speaker 3: a kid, I'm like, no, you really can't. There is
- 4:44Speaker 3: no volume control on a child. There's no on off switch.
- 4:47Speaker 3: It is they are going to be loud if they
- 4:49Speaker 3: want to be loud, and they are going to be
- 4:50Speaker 3: quiet if they want to be quiet, and you just
- 4:52Speaker 3: have to suffer the consequences.
- 4:54Speaker 4: So it's a complete one eighty versial for from when you.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Have no kid.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Is that when you actually have an diffident and you
- 5:02Speaker 3: know you and I have joked about this on the
- 5:04Speaker 3: show before, like when you the first time you drive
- 5:06Speaker 3: your kid home from the hospital, you do like thirty
- 5:08Speaker 3: miles an hour on the interstate.
- 5:10Speaker 4: It's it's literally the same thing.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Like that switch just comes out of nowhere and you're like, look,
- 5:15Speaker 3: I swear I don't like people coming near my kid.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Like people used to come.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Up to my daughter when she was like a baby
- 5:23Speaker 3: and go, oh what the cues baby ever, and like
- 5:25Speaker 3: wouldn't want to put their hands into the stroller to
- 5:27Speaker 3: touch them, Like I got it.
- 5:29Speaker 2: That's weird.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, even now like today we went to the
- 5:32Speaker 3: store being Sanny and he picked up a little toy
- 5:35Speaker 3: and we're walking out the door and this lady's like,
- 5:37Speaker 3: oh my god, he is just the most handsome little
- 5:39Speaker 3: boy ever. And she started to like reach out for him,
- 5:43Speaker 3: and I'm like, I will cut you, old lady. I
- 5:45Speaker 3: don't care what you think this is. You can't touch
- 5:48Speaker 3: my kid.
- 5:49Speaker 2: So yeah, but what if she was actually racing for you?
- 5:53Speaker 4: I have to get permission from my wife.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Fair enough, fair enough, fair enough. We did have a
- 6:00Speaker 2: moment where and I only found out about this like
- 6:02Speaker 2: towards the end of flight. But I guess when my
- 6:04Speaker 2: wife and I were getting on the plane, this couple
- 6:07Speaker 2: was like say, talking to one another's we got on
- 6:11Speaker 2: the plane and I couldn't I didn't hear them, and
- 6:13Speaker 2: I guess the husband said, that's asking for trouble, and
- 6:19Speaker 2: then the wife said they're gonna do what they're gonna
- 6:22Speaker 2: want to do and like roll her eyes. And my
- 6:25Speaker 2: wife only told me about this like three quarters of
- 6:27Speaker 2: the way through the flight, like somebody said that about us,
- 6:30Speaker 2: because I think in the moment, if it happened, and
- 6:32Speaker 2: I would have been like, what the fuck's your problem?
- 6:34Speaker 2: Because I have like zero tolerance for just like rude
- 6:38Speaker 2: people at all, Like I will absolutely like call you
- 6:41Speaker 2: out immediately. So I was like, who said this? And
- 6:45Speaker 2: she points them out and it's like this elderly couple
- 6:48Speaker 2: and I'm like, do I really want to, like when
- 6:51Speaker 2: I get off the plane be like, by the way,
- 6:53Speaker 2: fuck you to an elderly couple. So I guess this
- 6:57Speaker 2: is growth, doctor Trey, because I was just like, you know,
- 6:59Speaker 2: what to go, this is just elderly people being elderly people.
- 7:03Speaker 2: But yeah, no, I mean I was in that position
- 7:05Speaker 2: where it's like mind your own business, like what what
- 7:08Speaker 2: the hell does it matter to you? In the travel
- 7:10Speaker 2: And quite honestly, it was fine, no issues. They were
- 7:15Speaker 2: very far up ahead of the plane so they didn't
- 7:17Speaker 2: have to deal with it anyway if anything happened. But
- 7:19Speaker 2: it's like, what makes people think that they can a
- 7:22Speaker 2: like touch your kid if they think they're cute or
- 7:25Speaker 2: be common on your kid. It's like, that's a bizarre
- 7:28Speaker 2: life of parenthood. I guess huh it is.
- 7:31Speaker 3: And it's one of those things where it's just like
- 7:34Speaker 3: just like as you get older, I'm sure you're running
- 7:37Speaker 3: it down, Like I get more irritated at stupid people
- 7:40Speaker 3: year after year after year, like bad parking jobs, or
- 7:43Speaker 3: the person who drives the wrong way in a parking lot,
- 7:46Speaker 3: like there's an arrow pointing one way and you're driving
- 7:48Speaker 3: the other way, Like that's there. But when it comes
- 7:50Speaker 3: to my kids, yeah, I get absolutely irritated, like right away.
- 7:54Speaker 3: But then I also don't want to set a bad
- 7:56Speaker 3: example as the parent who goes around like punching other
- 7:59Speaker 3: parents or you know, cussing out old people in front
- 8:02Speaker 3: of my kid.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Like Sammy will correct.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Me if I say a bad word at all now
- 8:07Speaker 3: and he's like, you can't say that, and I'm like, oh, no,
- 8:09Speaker 3: I've earned this right.
- 8:10Speaker 4: But in protection of you, yeah, I can say whatever
- 8:14Speaker 4: I want.
- 8:15Speaker 3: But yeah, it's it's one of those weird things where like, man,
- 8:17Speaker 3: was was I that jerk in my twenties? Like you
- 8:20Speaker 3: know if a couple's like, oh, they're asking for it, Yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 3: you're absolutely right. I know the risks of taking my
- 8:25Speaker 3: child on a plane. I certainly I do, Like I
- 8:28Speaker 3: am prepared for the consequences of what comes into this battle.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I'm not going into this blindly, so I don't need
- 8:34Speaker 3: somebody commenting on it.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I'd be like, why don't you worry about you know, like, yeah,
- 8:38Speaker 4: like I am really.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Bad about like flaming somebody to the point where like
- 8:42Speaker 3: I am saying just really insensitive stuff, but in a
- 8:45Speaker 3: polite way where it takes them a little while to
- 8:47Speaker 3: realize how badly I flame them.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Like in that situation, I'm.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Like, why don't you worry about your plot in the
- 8:53Speaker 3: cemetery more so than whether or not I'm traveling with
- 8:55Speaker 3: a child?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah? Absolutely, just mine run damn business. I think that's
- 8:59Speaker 2: the problem of a lot of people today in society.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And yeah, that was part of my day of travel
- 9:06Speaker 2: as I ended, of course obviously recording here this week's
- 9:08Speaker 2: edition of SRTU. Oh, I've got wrestling news here, doctor
- 9:12Speaker 2: try I've got a wrestling tie into my flying So
- 9:15Speaker 2: obviously flying out of Orlando Big Wrestling Hub a couple
- 9:19Speaker 2: of years ago, which I think I brought up on
- 9:20Speaker 2: the shell Shins k Nakamora, like Jason Jordan, Bobby Rude.
- 9:28Speaker 2: There was like a bunch of NX stars at the
- 9:30Speaker 2: time they were in NXT. I think shinsk just got
- 9:33Speaker 2: called up to SmackDown. We're flying out of Orlando to
- 9:36Speaker 2: that night show and SmackDown and like I you know,
- 9:39Speaker 2: fanboying out and they weren't on my plane. It was
- 9:41Speaker 2: I was very upset about that, but I was fanboying out.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I'm walking through Orlando International Airport today and I saw
- 9:48Speaker 2: aw wrestler, a former NX Star, former nxt UK Tag
- 9:54Speaker 2: Team champion, the one and only James Drake, part of
- 9:57Speaker 2: Grizzled Young Veterans, walking around the airport going his flight,
- 10:00Speaker 2: which I assume. I believe Collision is being taped on
- 10:03Speaker 2: Thursday night, and they were being taped in Albany, so
- 10:05Speaker 2: I wonder if Frizzled Young Veterans is either doing the
- 10:08Speaker 2: Collision taping or are they Are they doing the roh taping?
- 10:11Speaker 2: But I was like, oh, that's cool, that's James Rake.
- 10:15Speaker 3: So it's funny you mentioned the Grizzled Young Bets because
- 10:17Speaker 3: I actually, uh got a sticker for my car, got it.
- 10:20Speaker 4: You know, I got a new car a few months ago.
- 10:22Speaker 4: You have to kind of decorate the car up to
- 10:23Speaker 4: match it.
- 10:24Speaker 3: So I have a I have a bear on the
- 10:26Speaker 3: back of it, and I put Grizzled Old Man under
- 10:29Speaker 3: the sticker.
- 10:30Speaker 4: So because in honor of the Grizzled Young Bets.
- 10:32Speaker 3: But I was going to ask you about the Disney
- 10:34Speaker 3: World because in the past, also you ran into Kevin.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Oh was it Disney World.
- 10:39Speaker 3: I was going to ask if you had ran into anybody,
- 10:41Speaker 3: and then you let into the James Drake story.
- 10:44Speaker 2: So there you go. Yeah, no, no, no wrestlers in
- 10:46Speaker 2: Disney World. I saw Jason Kelsey's wife. I don't know
- 10:51Speaker 2: if that resonates with people who listen to wrestling podcasts,
- 10:53Speaker 2: but I'm like, why is that all? Lady looked familiar. Oh,
- 10:56Speaker 2: it's Jason Kelsey's wife. I was like, Oh, that's pretty cool. Actually,
- 11:01Speaker 2: I guess for music fans out there. I was walking
- 11:06Speaker 2: in the Magic Kingdom and we were walking to dinner
- 11:09Speaker 2: on Saturday night and they were taping the Disney Christmas
- 11:15Speaker 2: special that airs. I think one airs in the beginning
- 11:19Speaker 2: of December, first time frame, like on free Form they
- 11:21Speaker 2: do one at the beginning of the month, and then
- 11:24Speaker 2: the one that airs on Christmas Day, which was always
- 11:26Speaker 2: a tradition of my family, the Christmas Parade on ABC.
- 11:29Speaker 2: They take that like six weeks in advance, and we're
- 11:33Speaker 2: walking down the hill of the one side of the
- 11:37Speaker 2: Magic Kingdom going to dinner and somebody's performing. People are
- 11:40Speaker 2: going nuts. And what song do I hear being played?
- 11:43Speaker 2: But the one only tiny Dancer and freaking Elton John
- 11:46Speaker 2: is just tickling the ivories doctor Trey in the Magic Kingdom,
- 11:49Speaker 2: and like, people pay thousands of dollars for this and
- 11:52Speaker 2: I'm just nonchalantly running walking through the Magic Kingdom and
- 11:56Speaker 2: here he is playing Tiny Dancer.
- 11:59Speaker 4: That's fantasy.
- 11:59Speaker 3: I always wondered why those people look so sad and
- 12:02Speaker 3: vacant during Christmas parades, and now that I know they're
- 12:05Speaker 3: taping it before Thanksgiving, Like, I don't know about you.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I don't get into the Christmas spirit till after Thanksgiving,
- 12:10Speaker 3: like these people who were like pro Christmas, like the
- 12:14Speaker 3: day after Halloween. I don't get that, Like, no, no, no,
- 12:18Speaker 3: let me get a little bit old up. I got
- 12:20Speaker 3: to get my Thanksgiving meal in me before I really
- 12:22Speaker 3: get into the Christmas spirits.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I am a big time Christmas guy, but yeah, I
- 12:27Speaker 2: am with you. It's the day after Thanksgiving where like
- 12:31Speaker 2: Christmas tree grows up, goes up, and obviously because of
- 12:33Speaker 2: the allergies, we do not do a normal Christmas tree
- 12:36Speaker 2: because I'm lame artificial. My friend also not a fire housard.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Thank God. That's the firefighter in me. But yeah, now
- 12:46Speaker 2: I in the day after Thanksgiving is when the when
- 12:48Speaker 2: the Christmas spirit starts with me. But it's getting there.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I've been I'm not gonna lie. I have been listening
- 12:53Speaker 2: to a little bit of Christmas music here and there.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it hit me.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Tuesday, went to physical therapy. By the way, cleared to
- 13:00Speaker 3: return to work.
- 13:01Speaker 4: On Monday, let's go.
- 13:05Speaker 3: But Tuesday, I'm in physical therapy and they were playing
- 13:08Speaker 3: a prank on my therapist because my physical therapist is
- 13:12Speaker 3: kind of like the basically he's the Grinch of the
- 13:15Speaker 3: of the clinic. So he actually got through the same time,
- 13:19Speaker 3: like five minutes after I did. And when I walked in,
- 13:21Speaker 3: I got on EIDs Mike and I listen and they
- 13:23Speaker 3: have nothing but Christmas music playing. And I mean not
- 13:27Speaker 3: even the upbeat stuff like the bing Crosby's White Christmas
- 13:30Speaker 3: and you know, the slow tempo stuff. And I'm like,
- 13:34Speaker 3: I can't be doing therapy to this slow of music.
- 13:36Speaker 3: This will actually put me to sleep. And then I
- 13:38Speaker 3: found out they were pranking my therapist because he's such
- 13:42Speaker 3: a grinch, that all the girls got together to just
- 13:45Speaker 3: like basically they put up the Christmas tree. They had
- 13:47Speaker 3: a girl and they're painting the Christmas decor scene on
- 13:51Speaker 3: the front window they're playing. He just walked in and
- 13:55Speaker 3: looked around, and I swear to God that he was
- 13:56Speaker 3: gonna walk back out because he was that irritated. And
- 13:58Speaker 3: then they all just started laughing at them, and thank
- 14:01Speaker 3: god they changed the music, because it is really hard
- 14:04Speaker 3: to be on the station your bike for fifteen minutes
- 14:06Speaker 3: listening to Bing Crosby and those guys sing really slow
- 14:10Speaker 3: Christmas songs.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah. No, that is not a pump up gym at all.
- 14:14Speaker 2: That is not like listen putting the Black Eyed Peas
- 14:16Speaker 2: in your headphones. S I have to train. Just freaking
- 14:19Speaker 2: out right, man.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I told them.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I was like, look, IS said, I have never worn
- 14:23Speaker 3: earbuds or air pods or anything like that into physical therapy.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I said, but if this is the music that you
- 14:27Speaker 3: guys are being playing for the next month and a half,
- 14:29Speaker 3: because I still have six more visits to the therapy,
- 14:32Speaker 3: I'm like, I will be bringing in my own headphones
- 14:34Speaker 3: because I can't do it. I am not one of
- 14:38Speaker 3: those those chip or happy people. At eight thirty in
- 14:41Speaker 3: the morning, I just dropped off a child that had
- 14:44Speaker 3: to deal with the school Line traffic. So yeah, I'm
- 14:47Speaker 3: not in a good place that early. So I need
- 14:49Speaker 3: some either angry music or up tempo music to get
- 14:52Speaker 3: my day going.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Or a little degeneration X music because I could be
- 14:56Speaker 2: down with that. Give me some wrestling theme music. I
- 15:00Speaker 2: would love to see the Final Bosses the Rocks new
- 15:03Speaker 2: theme song up on Apple Music. I always looked for that.
- 15:05Speaker 2: There's a lot of fake versions of it, and I
- 15:09Speaker 2: think that could be added to the playlist. So maybe maybe,
- 15:12Speaker 2: ye know, if the Christmas music is still being played,
- 15:15Speaker 2: you put a little motor Head in there, you put
- 15:17Speaker 2: a little New Day maybe what's what's another song that
- 15:20Speaker 2: gets you going? A Bailey the NXC theme.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I did stumble across the original K Quick road Dog
- 15:27Speaker 3: getting rowdy jam.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Yeah, with a little bit of to the background of it.
- 15:32Speaker 4: So good.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember that the now I'm looking forward right now,
- 15:36Speaker 2: let's see if it's even on.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I found a clip it was basically because it was
- 15:41Speaker 3: something like twenty K Quick's debut in.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Somebody this version. Yeah, oh it's this is the unhinged
- 15:59Speaker 2: verse or you were saying, but it's.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Then it's like because remember they had that whole like
- 16:05Speaker 3: New metal wrap crossoorder really big around two thousand, So
- 16:09Speaker 3: that's always stuff that's like in my Uh, you hit
- 16:12Speaker 3: that certain age and your music's your music taste, just
- 16:15Speaker 3: lock in.
- 16:16Speaker 4: That's in my musical genre that's locked into me.
- 16:18Speaker 3: It's like that whole grunge into new metal hip hop
- 16:22Speaker 3: crossover stuff from late nineties early two thousands.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Are they were they doing something? Was that when they
- 16:29Speaker 2: were doing the Disturbed and liked, uh, Saliva was covered
- 16:34Speaker 2: like a Jericho song that unhinched or was that a
- 16:37Speaker 2: completely different album.
- 16:39Speaker 3: That was Uh gee, I can't remember because that's when
- 16:42Speaker 3: the Run DMC down with the Kings d X version game.
- 16:46Speaker 2: That was the that was Aggression, right. I think that
- 16:48Speaker 2: album was called.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you're absolutely right, but that was in
- 16:52Speaker 3: that timeframe, so uh, that song was out after Aggression
- 16:57Speaker 3: because road Dog had broke away from DX and was
- 16:59Speaker 3: going solo and then they pared him accay.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Quick so but then he got fired.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but that was that same style of music. Was
- 17:06Speaker 3: that rap rock crossover stuff.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I had this album yep, I do too Run DMC
- 17:13Speaker 2: and d X.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Which I believe if I'm not if I'm not a saken,
- 17:19Speaker 3: that this was his favorite version of the DX songs.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Really and I also uh for fans of rot music.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I believe it was the last song jam Aster Jay
- 17:30Speaker 2: Dan with run DMC before being murdered.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Yeah, because he died shortly there after this song got released.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it was uh man I later on, I
- 17:40Speaker 2: want to bring that. I guess we're kind of like
- 17:42Speaker 2: blended into it. I want to bring up with some
- 17:43Speaker 2: stuff that you like miss from most about your wrestling fandom,
- 17:49Speaker 2: and it is stuff like that like buying the albums,
- 17:51Speaker 2: buying the video games. As part of that, I'm gonna
- 17:54Speaker 2: pause on that. We'll get to that later on in
- 17:55Speaker 2: the show. Let's talk about some things that are going
- 17:58Speaker 2: on in the world professional wrestling right now. To Trey,
- 18:01Speaker 2: the big thing from SmackDown, the OG Bloodline, Sammy's ain
- 18:05Speaker 2: Jay So, Jimmy So Roman reigns. They have reunited. It
- 18:09Speaker 2: partially carried over to Raw on Monday night as they
- 18:12Speaker 2: were looking for a fifth guy. It'll be a five
- 18:14Speaker 2: on five match OG Bloodline versus the New Bloodline, TMU Bloodline,
- 18:19Speaker 2: Bloodline two point zero, whatever you want to call them,
- 18:22Speaker 2: in the War Games match. We've been critical of this build,
- 18:28Speaker 2: how they were going to get there. They got a
- 18:30Speaker 2: gigantic pop on Friday night, Doctor Trey. Did you like
- 18:34Speaker 2: how they got Sammy z Ain back into the fold
- 18:36Speaker 2: with the og bloodline?
- 18:40Speaker 4: I mean, I'm happy they're all back together.
- 18:43Speaker 3: I do still feel like it's a little rushed and
- 18:47Speaker 3: a little bit of water under the bridge.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Too quick for me.
- 18:50Speaker 3: I mean, the Sammy Roman stuff was so brutal and
- 18:54Speaker 3: violent at times, and you know, all that stuff like
- 18:59Speaker 3: to let it slide, I'd buy within a couple of
- 19:01Speaker 3: weeks seems a bit far fetched, even this stuff, I mean,
- 19:05Speaker 3: Jay's breakup I mean with Jimmy was pretty bad. I mean,
- 19:09Speaker 3: Jimmy interfered in so many matches lead against WrestleMania. It
- 19:13Speaker 3: just seems like the forgiveness factor is is pretty quick.
- 19:17Speaker 3: But then again, I don't come from a family where
- 19:21Speaker 3: we forgive very easily, Like if one of us gets
- 19:24Speaker 3: makes you mad, we're mad for years.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Like it takes forever for our family to go for stuff.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Maybe some moments are a little bit more you know,
- 19:35Speaker 3: forgiving than I previously thought, but you know, it's it
- 19:40Speaker 3: just makes me feel kind of like that they're just letting,
- 19:44Speaker 3: like letting bygones be bygones a little too quickly to
- 19:47Speaker 3: be this happy together. But you still see this some
- 19:50Speaker 3: of the at least they're leaving some of the tension
- 19:52Speaker 3: there between Sammy and Jimmy and Sammy and Roman, because
- 19:57Speaker 3: that makes the most sense to me, because Sammy's breakup
- 19:59Speaker 3: with them was the most you know, I guess violent
- 20:02Speaker 3: or disheartening part of the whole Bloodline breakup originally.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Anyway, the thing that bothered I agree with you, I
- 20:10Speaker 2: think it was it's it's been rush but it's like
- 20:13Speaker 2: one of those things where it's like we talk about
- 20:16Speaker 2: the slow burn. We love it, but can we forgive
- 20:20Speaker 2: when they rush through things and when it's like things
- 20:23Speaker 2: that you want to see, like a reunion the og
- 20:25Speaker 2: blood Line is is a reunion I want to see
- 20:27Speaker 2: in professional wrestling, and I'm like very split on it.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I would have liked that Sammy Zane joined rejoined forces
- 20:35Speaker 2: with a Bloodline in that opening segment. If Roman reigns
- 20:38Speaker 2: apologized to Jay right that to me, if you do
- 20:43Speaker 2: that right then and there, then maybe have like Solo
- 20:47Speaker 2: come out interrupt it, and there's this weird quasis always
- 20:50Speaker 2: the ins arial the save Solos, thinking that Samy's going
- 20:55Speaker 2: to be part of their team. It's like, I don't know.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I mean, WW has been so good and they're doing
- 21:01Speaker 2: such a good job with a lot of fus right
- 21:02Speaker 2: now Orton and Kevin Owens and then Cody's in the
- 21:05Speaker 2: background of that, Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins. Even the
- 21:09Speaker 2: stuff for the Final Testament and Why It's six has
- 21:11Speaker 2: been really good. It's like this is one of the
- 21:14Speaker 2: major focal points and it's like they're they're hitting it
- 21:18Speaker 2: out of the park, but they're leaving me wanting more
- 21:20Speaker 2: because it's been rushed. Uh. And it's just like there
- 21:24Speaker 2: was such bad blood when when Sammy Zane left the
- 21:27Speaker 2: bloodline that all of a sudden because Jays like, I
- 21:32Speaker 2: don't know, it's different, like you should be there that
- 21:35Speaker 2: it's okay, It's just it's leaving me wanting more, not
- 21:39Speaker 2: to try. I love the moment at the end of
- 21:41Speaker 2: the show, but I'm like, man, I need a little
- 21:43Speaker 2: bit more to this and maybe they can salvage that
- 21:46Speaker 2: on a couple episodes of SmackDown heading into War Games.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean to me, like like when you said
- 21:52Speaker 3: they're you know, they're hitting out of the park, but
- 21:54Speaker 3: to me, it's like they're hitting out of the park,
- 21:55Speaker 3: but it's home run Derby. You know, this is not
- 21:58Speaker 3: Freddie Freeman Grand Slam bomba the ninth.
- 22:01Speaker 4: You know.
- 22:01Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, they're getting out of the park, but
- 22:04Speaker 3: it's most because it's wind assistance, because we want it
- 22:07Speaker 3: to happen, not so much because they're making us want
- 22:12Speaker 3: it to happen. I guess that makes sense. Like it's
- 22:14Speaker 3: it's like, we want to get there anyway. We just
- 22:17Speaker 3: want to get there. We don't care how we get there,
- 22:19Speaker 3: we just want to get there. I think the fifth
- 22:23Speaker 3: member angle will be pretty interesting leading into wargames and
- 22:25Speaker 3: how they how they work this out.
- 22:28Speaker 4: But we've seen it so many times before.
- 22:29Speaker 3: It like we all wanted the Shield to get back together,
- 22:32Speaker 3: and those guys literally beat the hell out of each other.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I mean not so much Roman and Ambrose, but Ambrose
- 22:38Speaker 3: and Rollin's Roman and Rollins. Those guys beat the hell
- 22:41Speaker 3: each other and then they get back together, and we're like, yeah,
- 22:43Speaker 3: we just want them to get back together.
- 22:44Speaker 4: We kind of overlooked, you.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Know, all the brutality, like Rollin stumped Ambrose's head into
- 22:51Speaker 3: a cinder block at one point, and then it was
- 22:53Speaker 3: like six months later, they're tagging together again.
- 22:55Speaker 4: It's like, yeah, we kind of overlook stuff if it's
- 22:58Speaker 4: convenient for uh.
- 23:00Speaker 3: I mean, it's one of those things that we can
- 23:02Speaker 3: go back years later and kind of go, I wish
- 23:04Speaker 3: they could have built it longer. So in the moment,
- 23:06Speaker 3: I think we all could agree, like I wish this
- 23:08Speaker 3: bill that started maybe a month earlier, and at least
- 23:13Speaker 3: there would be a little more depth to the build.
- 23:15Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, we all just
- 23:17Speaker 3: want this to happen, so I don't think we care
- 23:19Speaker 3: how it's happening.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's what That's how I feel about. It's like, oh, man,
- 23:23Speaker 2: I sound hypocritical, but it's like, yeah, no, I want
- 23:27Speaker 2: it to happen, so I'm happy it's happening. I just
- 23:30Speaker 2: wish I wish the build was a little bit better.
- 23:33Speaker 2: And that's the other part of this entire story right
- 23:36Speaker 2: now is this fifth guy angle, which I thought they
- 23:39Speaker 2: would have gone four on four. I think from Solo's standpoint,
- 23:44Speaker 2: I would imagine and you've got Hiccoleo reportedly on you
- 23:49Speaker 2: know the roster, this is the time that you bring
- 23:52Speaker 2: him on into the og bloodline. There were some rumblings
- 23:55Speaker 2: that he may end up on an XT brand, which
- 23:59Speaker 2: didn't make a lot of sense to me, Like, okay,
- 24:02Speaker 2: maybe you go to the Hiccolo route, the og bloodline.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I don't know who the fit is, Like, is it
- 24:08Speaker 2: is it Seth? Like? Does Seth go down the path
- 24:11Speaker 2: of of Sammy Zain? Is there is there anyone else
- 24:16Speaker 2: that could go side by side here? Does do we
- 24:19Speaker 2: throw out the wild card in this entire thing? Does
- 24:21Speaker 2: the Final Boss make a return to Survivor series and
- 24:25Speaker 2: tag with one of these teams?
- 24:27Speaker 4: Like?
- 24:27Speaker 2: What is the angle that w could play? There? Doctory
- 24:30Speaker 2: with the fifth guy?
- 24:32Speaker 3: So I think the obvious things are either as going
- 24:34Speaker 3: to be like Cody. I mean, it's gonna be Seth
- 24:38Speaker 3: and Bronson because it helps.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 24:42Speaker 3: I know Bronson's Australian, but dear God, Jeff, that man
- 24:45Speaker 3: looks Samoan.
- 24:47Speaker 4: He looks like he fits in with those guys.
- 24:50Speaker 3: And then you get the deception or the cross pro
- 24:54Speaker 3: the cross shield stuff with Roman and Seth and you
- 24:57Speaker 3: know their distrust and all that stuff. You can line
- 25:00Speaker 3: that up, you could line up in a sense I
- 25:03Speaker 3: would be I would love to see Randy and Ko
- 25:07Speaker 3: get factored into this and Ko decides, you know, like
- 25:11Speaker 3: they like you know, Pierce and all this are peer
- 25:14Speaker 3: or all. This just throws Ko into in with the
- 25:17Speaker 3: OG bloodline because at the end of the day, Ko
- 25:20Speaker 3: still wants revenge on Roman in the blood line. So
- 25:22Speaker 3: if he teams with Solo and the other three some
- 25:25Speaker 3: moments who he doesn't have an issue with, and then
- 25:28Speaker 3: you have the cross of Randy signing with the OG bloodline,
- 25:32Speaker 3: who cost him eighteen months of his career, Like, there
- 25:35Speaker 3: are some angles in here where you're like, man, this
- 25:38Speaker 3: could play out and be pretty cool. I still think
- 25:41Speaker 3: there's gonna like Randy and Ko will be off on
- 25:43Speaker 3: their own thing and we'll get Seth and Bronson. But
- 25:46Speaker 3: Cody and Roman teamed up a couple of months ago,
- 25:48Speaker 3: so you can always throw Cody and Ko into this mix,
- 25:50Speaker 3: or Cody in the Final Boss if they went that route.
- 25:53Speaker 4: So there are some intriguing angles to play with this.
- 25:59Speaker 3: That would look really kind of at the end of
- 26:01Speaker 3: the day, for me, would make Kevin look like he's right,
- 26:04Speaker 3: like his T shirt said on SmackDown.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Do you think they would go to Kevin Owens route
- 26:10Speaker 2: just because that would make him look like such a hypocrite.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Not really, because he does it if he's on Solo's team,
- 26:17Speaker 3: he does his issues more with the USOS and Roman
- 26:20Speaker 3: than it ever was with Solo, and he doesn't have
- 26:23Speaker 3: an issue with Jacob. I mean, I guess a little
- 26:25Speaker 3: bit when they when the new Bloodline showed up and
- 26:28Speaker 3: they were taking out Cody, Him and Randy, well.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Yeah that was the three on three matches.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Yeah, so I guess I guess in a sense it
- 26:35Speaker 3: would make him hypociral. So that that's why I like,
- 26:37Speaker 3: I saw somebody talk about that. I was like, well,
- 26:39Speaker 3: I guess it would make sense on one level, and
- 26:41Speaker 3: I love the cross of Randy having to side with
- 26:44Speaker 3: Roman and the USOS who literally did take him out
- 26:48Speaker 3: for eighteen months. But it also if you factor in Ko,
- 26:52Speaker 3: you have Ko against Sammy in that match as well,
- 26:57Speaker 3: So that leads into the Kevin Owens conspiracy of like
- 26:59Speaker 3: every bud is like it was Ko who helped rescue
- 27:03Speaker 3: Sammy from the Bloodline for Sammy to go back to
- 27:07Speaker 3: the bloodline. So you have all these people that you know,
- 27:10Speaker 3: Ko try to protect or help against the bloodline and
- 27:14Speaker 3: now they're all siding with the bloodline. So it could
- 27:17Speaker 3: play into his conspiracy theorist angle more and more if
- 27:20Speaker 3: they went that route.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Is there anybody that's currently not on television regularly like
- 27:26Speaker 2: a true McIntyre or see him punk that you could
- 27:28Speaker 2: see injected into this one.
- 27:30Speaker 3: I think whoever they add has to either be in
- 27:33Speaker 3: a feud against each against somebody else, or has to
- 27:37Speaker 3: have some kind of connection to the feud. So like
- 27:42Speaker 3: you know, Drew McIntyre's not feuded. Anybody punks off TV,
- 27:45Speaker 3: I mean a priest and guns are doing their own thing.
- 27:50Speaker 3: I mean, and I don't know if anybody else is
- 27:53Speaker 3: on the level that they want this to be on.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Because even though the individual members of New Bloodline aren't
- 27:59Speaker 3: house solo like I guess main event ready, they all have,
- 28:04Speaker 3: you know, they the collective group is a main event
- 28:07Speaker 3: group where you can look at the og Bloodline and Goo.
- 28:10Speaker 3: I mean maybe outside of Jimmy, everybody on that team
- 28:13Speaker 3: is a main event now, So you would have to
- 28:16Speaker 3: factor in somebody like you couldn't do l A Night
- 28:18Speaker 3: and Carmelo, Like, I just don't know if Carmelo's on
- 28:22Speaker 3: that level or I'm trying to think some of the
- 28:24Speaker 3: other mid card stuff going on right now where you.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Didn't they tease Jimmy usso talking to Brown Breaker, i'n wraw.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I mean, you could throw Braun into it, But then
- 28:33Speaker 3: who do you match up on the other team? I
- 28:36Speaker 3: guess you know, that's that's the whole thing, like, you know,
- 28:39Speaker 3: because he's not really I mean, he was kind of
- 28:41Speaker 3: feuding with Jimmy when he got the bet or Jay
- 28:43Speaker 3: with you when he got the belt back, but he's
- 28:45Speaker 3: not really feuding with anybody now. Like there's just not
- 28:49Speaker 3: really anybody else available other than those couple of feuds
- 28:52Speaker 3: that we mentioned right now.
- 28:53Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be Seth and Bronton Reid.
- 28:57Speaker 4: That makes the most sense to me.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so I think Ko and Randy you want to
- 29:02Speaker 3: do their own individual thing, and I.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Think and I think Orton's gonna be off TV for
- 29:06Speaker 2: a little bit now selling an injury.
- 29:08Speaker 3: But then I mean, do you do does Cody get
- 29:10Speaker 3: asked and then Ko gets added to counteract.
- 29:13Speaker 4: The Cody that could be?
- 29:15Speaker 2: I think that is. I think one would be Rollins
- 29:17Speaker 2: and Bronson Reid, two would be Cody and Kevin Owens.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Three it would be like hic Leo and the Rock
- 29:27Speaker 2: or something.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Same Seamous and Bronson breakers. I think that's the that's
- 29:31Speaker 4: they just had.
- 29:31Speaker 2: A match in Speed Seamous and Pete Dunn.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Yeah, well done. Now with the New Day thing, I
- 29:37Speaker 4: guess a little bit.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I guess. I I think it's I think
- 29:42Speaker 2: that they've I think it's Seth. I think it's Seth
- 29:45Speaker 2: and Bronson. Reid is the fifth guys.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Yeah, because I think you want to you want to
- 29:49Speaker 3: save Cody and Ko for I guess it'd be rumble.
- 29:54Speaker 2: I think they're gonna do it at Saturday Night's main event.
- 29:57Speaker 4: Maybe, But I just figured I don't know that they
- 29:59Speaker 4: could do it a Survivor series.
- 30:01Speaker 3: If you're doing this crazy build like Cody's got to fight,
- 30:04Speaker 3: I think, and I don't know how you leave Cody.
- 30:06Speaker 4: Off of Survivor series. He's got to get factored in somehow.
- 30:10Speaker 2: They leave World Champions off. I hear you they could
- 30:14Speaker 2: get away with it being Maybe they do Ko and
- 30:17Speaker 2: Cody on that one. I mean they do it. They
- 30:20Speaker 2: they will sit out World Champions on feuds or excuse me,
- 30:23Speaker 2: on pl e's and not have a feud. I don't
- 30:26Speaker 2: think they could do that with Cody being the guy,
- 30:28Speaker 2: but maybe they do.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna be I mean with the Netflix stuff
- 30:33Speaker 3: starts up with the first of January.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, January sixth, I think so.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:38Speaker 3: So I was like, well, you know, maybe they're leaving
- 30:40Speaker 3: in Cody off because they're gonna do something for them.
- 30:42Speaker 4: But it was like, that's too far down the road.
- 30:45Speaker 3: I know they leave the raw. I always get the
- 30:49Speaker 3: title names mixed up. There's the World Heavyweight Champion and
- 30:51Speaker 3: then the world Champion. Is that where we have now.
- 30:54Speaker 2: World Hevyweight Champion and undisputed WE Champion.
- 30:58Speaker 3: I guess I still go through on some champions, So,
- 31:01Speaker 3: I mean, I know the tip they have been leaving
- 31:03Speaker 3: the raw World Champion off of shows because.
- 31:06Speaker 4: It's kind of I guess in their minds the B title.
- 31:09Speaker 3: But it's really hard to leave your top baby face
- 31:12Speaker 3: off a plan.
- 31:14Speaker 2: I agree. So people are buying tickets to c Cody
- 31:17Speaker 2: Roads partially so a major part honestly switching gears Dot Trae.
- 31:22Speaker 2: We talked about this story about a couple of months
- 31:25Speaker 2: ago now, and we figured this was potentially gonna happen
- 31:28Speaker 2: once they announced the women's NXC North American Championship during
- 31:32Speaker 2: WRESTLEMINGI weekend during standon. Liver thought that this was gonna
- 31:36Speaker 2: be foregone conclusion that would happen right away, and it didn't,
- 31:38Speaker 2: and then I started being skeptical. I'm like, oh, maybe
- 31:40Speaker 2: they're not going to do it. Then, Nick all This
- 31:42Speaker 2: announced it on Friday's edition of SmackDown when he revealed
- 31:46Speaker 2: that the Women's United States Championship will be a title
- 31:50Speaker 2: on the SmackDown brand going forward. They did not introduce
- 31:53Speaker 2: a Women's Intercontinental Championship on the Raw brand yet, but
- 31:56Speaker 2: I would assume that is coming. Dot trae your thoughts
- 31:59Speaker 2: as in now the first time ever in WI, there
- 32:02Speaker 2: will be a secondary mid card, upper mid card, whatever
- 32:06Speaker 2: you want to call it, women's championship on the SmackDown brand.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Not a huge fan of it at this moment, mainly
- 32:16Speaker 3: because you're announcing it on the brand that maybe has
- 32:18Speaker 3: the weakest women's roster of your three brands. I think
- 32:23Speaker 3: NXT is a stronger women's division, and I think Raw
- 32:25Speaker 3: has a stronger women's division than SmackDown. So not a
- 32:29Speaker 3: huge fan of it because it's just it's I don't
- 32:32Speaker 3: know about you, Jeff, it's starting to feel a little
- 32:34Speaker 3: bit awish with all these title belts appearing now.
- 32:40Speaker 4: To me, if you're gonna do this, then you need
- 32:41Speaker 4: to do.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Like an all women's show, because just the depth on
- 32:46Speaker 3: the SmackDown roster and even the depth on the raw
- 32:48Speaker 3: roster's just some degree isn't what it needs to be.
- 32:53Speaker 2: It's basically how NXT's doing it is what it needs
- 32:55Speaker 2: to be.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's just like it's to me, there's trying
- 33:00Speaker 3: to fit everything into two hours when you got a
- 33:02Speaker 3: lot of a lot of talent, as tricky as it is,
- 33:05Speaker 3: and then now it's just be like, okay, it's we're
- 33:08Speaker 3: just fighting over this title that no, you don't really
- 33:11Speaker 3: feel like anybody is getting a bill to We're gonna
- 33:12Speaker 3: have random like six way Gauntlet battle royal matches to
- 33:16Speaker 3: become a new number contender for the women's US title,
- 33:19Speaker 3: although you know eventually the women's Intercontinental title, to me
- 33:22Speaker 3: is just it just feel like an unnecessary title belt
- 33:24Speaker 3: when you haven't really built up that division. Now, in time,
- 33:29Speaker 3: when the NXT women graduate up to the main roster
- 33:32Speaker 3: and you have way more depth, it'll be fine. I
- 33:35Speaker 3: just feel like right now maybe not the best time
- 33:37Speaker 3: because we really don't even have a strong contender for NYA,
- 33:42Speaker 3: and we're looking at adding a secondary belt for a
- 33:45Speaker 3: part of the division that really doesn't have any depth
- 33:47Speaker 3: to it right now.
- 33:49Speaker 2: You know what's what's interesting, Doctor Trey, is I feel
- 33:52Speaker 2: like WWE is setting themselves up for the brand to
- 33:58Speaker 2: gain an hour on smack Down. That has been the rumblings,
- 34:02Speaker 2: and I think that this move triggers that. And the
- 34:06Speaker 2: word on the street is once SmackDown expands at three hours,
- 34:10Speaker 2: Raw goes back to three hours on Netflix, you're going
- 34:14Speaker 2: to see more wrestlers from the NXC brand added to
- 34:17Speaker 2: Raw and SmackDown, which makes sense as to why they're
- 34:21Speaker 2: building up the NXC women's division right now is to
- 34:23Speaker 2: eventually supplement Raw and SmackDown. If that is the case,
- 34:28Speaker 2: and if that is the theory and the thought behind
- 34:30Speaker 2: it all, does that change your mind whatsoever? Yeah?
- 34:34Speaker 3: I mean if everybody's getting if everybody's getting a full
- 34:37Speaker 3: extra hour, like Raw stays at three, SmackDown goes at three,
- 34:41Speaker 3: and then you need some pieces brought up. Yeah, then
- 34:43Speaker 3: it makes sense. And that's what I was saying, Like
- 34:44Speaker 3: introducing it now is a little weird. Maybe I would
- 34:47Speaker 3: have saved it for New Year's like after January when
- 34:50Speaker 3: everything's settled that everybody's getting the extra hour, I would
- 34:53Speaker 3: be better with it just right now. When you look
- 34:55Speaker 3: at that roster and you're like, you see the people
- 34:57Speaker 3: like jumping in, like, oh, that looks pretty I want
- 34:59Speaker 3: to shot that belt. You've got the Natalians and the Meechins,
- 35:02Speaker 3: and you know, the only obsct for me is, hey,
- 35:04Speaker 3: maybe Chelsea Green gets a run with a title, like
- 35:07Speaker 3: I love Chelsea Green. So but like when you're like, oh,
- 35:09Speaker 3: it's Natalia and you know the Meechins of the world
- 35:13Speaker 3: that are like, you know, is anybody excited about a
- 35:17Speaker 3: meech in Natalia US Women's title match?
- 35:20Speaker 4: Maybe the Purests, But I think a.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Lot of it. I think you could get there because
- 35:24Speaker 2: I think NXC is showing the blueprint and they only
- 35:26Speaker 2: have two hours and they're getting it done.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're they're doing the right thing. They're staggering
- 35:32Speaker 3: their belts on opposite shows. So it's like, what a
- 35:35Speaker 3: week will feature these couple titles, the next week will
- 35:37Speaker 3: feature these couple titles, And that's great, and that's the
- 35:39Speaker 3: way they want to do it.
- 35:40Speaker 4: I'm fine with that too, But I think that's.
- 35:43Speaker 2: The way that like every professional wrestling organization should be
- 35:47Speaker 2: doing these shows from aw to any show in we
- 35:50Speaker 2: like feature NXC Title North Women's North American Title tag
- 35:54Speaker 2: team titles this week, and then in a week or
- 35:56Speaker 2: two weeks then you feature the other ones.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and it gets your guys time off to kind
- 36:01Speaker 3: of recover as well too. I think that's where they're
- 36:03Speaker 3: going towards at some point. But to introduce it now
- 36:06Speaker 3: when I think most fans could probably name off four
- 36:10Speaker 3: SmackDown women's wrestlers, maybe five, I'll go five. I don't
- 36:17Speaker 3: know if it's the right time to inters it now
- 36:19Speaker 3: when you really haven't belt built up the middle and
- 36:22Speaker 3: bottom of that division yet, because they're like right now,
- 36:24Speaker 3: I'm just like, yeah, it's a pretty belt.
- 36:27Speaker 4: What are we doing with it?
- 36:28Speaker 3: Because like I said, I got I know, Bailey, Naomi, Naya, Tiffany,
- 36:32Speaker 3: and Mechen those are the five. Okay, Cannis makes six,
- 36:37Speaker 3: So okay, we got six. Like that's about all I
- 36:40Speaker 3: a name. So you got the different women, the tag
- 36:43Speaker 3: teams that are floating around, you know. But I mean
- 36:47Speaker 3: if four months from now, like I'm getting a Caden
- 36:50Speaker 3: Carter Women's intern Continental title run and she's got some
- 36:53Speaker 3: depth to that yeah, great, Katana Chance, Yeah, there's some
- 36:56Speaker 3: talent there.
- 36:57Speaker 4: They just really haven't built.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Up that bottom because you and I have said for
- 37:01Speaker 3: two years and kind of bitched to moan about the
- 37:04Speaker 3: women's tag team division not really being focused on and
- 37:08Speaker 3: even now you got Bianca and Jade, and you've got
- 37:10Speaker 3: these other tag teams, but I think for the most part,
- 37:12Speaker 3: none of us feel like they're on the level of
- 37:13Speaker 3: Beyonca and Jade. So you have talent in the tag
- 37:17Speaker 3: division that you can supplement it with. At some point,
- 37:21Speaker 3: you're getting Oscar back as well, which I'm sure she'll
- 37:23Speaker 3: get into a damage control.
- 37:24Speaker 4: But you have some people.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Charlotte's going to be back. I'm sure at some point,
- 37:28Speaker 3: Becky'll be back. You know those people that when they
- 37:31Speaker 3: come back and then they have to push some of
- 37:33Speaker 3: the other talent down to the mid card, then you'll
- 37:36Speaker 3: get some better storrelines. But tenners are now when, like
- 37:38Speaker 3: I said, the casual fake it maybe name six women
- 37:41Speaker 3: on SmackDown just doesn't make a ton.
- 37:43Speaker 4: Of sense to me.
- 37:44Speaker 2: We'll see, we'll see where things go from here. One
- 37:47Speaker 2: of my biggest scripes is also been on the main roster.
- 37:50Speaker 2: We're on SmackDown the tag team divisions, and they seem
- 37:54Speaker 2: to be given in a pretty good college try with
- 37:58Speaker 2: the Motor City Machine on the roster right now, so
- 38:01Speaker 2: maybe there are some hope for the women's division and
- 38:03Speaker 2: Lisa on SmackDown to be elevated a little bit more
- 38:06Speaker 2: with the Women's United States Championship being added to the brand.
- 38:10Speaker 2: So we'll keep it on that as the year goes
- 38:12Speaker 2: on here and we get into twenty twenty five as well.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Speaking of we doctor trains. Speaking of storylines, want to
- 38:19Speaker 2: see more storylines and the Women's division storylines and the
- 38:22Speaker 2: tag team divisions. There's a lot of great storylines going
- 38:25Speaker 2: on outside of those divisions right now. Brought some reed
- 38:30Speaker 2: seth rollins Randy Orton, Kevin Owens slash Cody Rose, anything
- 38:34Speaker 2: with the OG versus New Blood line. Which storylines are
- 38:39Speaker 2: the ones that are topping it for you right now?
- 38:42Speaker 2: Because I feel like everything is getting going really, really
- 38:46Speaker 2: well and it's like this could be something in December
- 38:50Speaker 2: for Saturay Night's main event if they air a couple
- 38:52Speaker 2: of these matches. These are matches I could get behind
- 38:55Speaker 2: as a fan because the build has been so damn good.
- 38:57Speaker 3: The KO Randy stuff for me is so interesting and
- 39:01Speaker 3: the way they're doing it, and plus Randy just looks
- 39:03Speaker 3: like a monster right now. I wish we'd get that
- 39:07Speaker 3: Randy Orton brock Lesner match from SummerSlam twenty fourteen back now,
- 39:11Speaker 3: because I think that Randy looks like you could what
- 39:14Speaker 3: brocks ass. But that whole angle that feued the pile
- 39:18Speaker 3: driver's spot, like I loved it because like I grew
- 39:21Speaker 3: up on pile drivers, and then I remember when they
- 39:23Speaker 3: got banned. So I actually see a piled ever spot
- 39:26Speaker 3: with a Randy Orton, knowing his neck injury history, I
- 39:29Speaker 3: thought was really really well done. That's top of my list.
- 39:33Speaker 3: And plus everybody wants to listen to the show knows
- 39:35Speaker 3: what a huge mark I am for Kevin owns a
- 39:37Speaker 3: Randy Orton. Anyway, og Bloodline, New Bloodline, that's really good.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Sammy mcinroman try to apologize for Jay and Jay's you
- 39:47Speaker 3: know the apology being like I'm sorry I made you
- 39:49Speaker 3: put up with this guy. I mean that was great,
- 39:52Speaker 3: but you got the feel good spot at the end.
- 39:56Speaker 3: I still I actually went back and watched some of
- 39:58Speaker 3: the stuff with Jay and ProMag. I mean, you know,
- 40:01Speaker 3: Jay calling out, like why'd you bring him in? Why'd
- 40:03Speaker 3: you go get Tomo, why'd you go get Taga, why'd
- 40:05Speaker 3: you go get Jacob? Like there's a reason why we
- 40:07Speaker 3: the whole family where you didn't want Jacob if he
- 40:10Speaker 3: keeps looking me this way, but to punch his teeth
- 40:12Speaker 3: out his throat.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Love that stuff Seth and Bronson is really good when
- 40:18Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Think it needed to be this good, Like I don't
- 40:22Speaker 3: know if you if I could have thought that Seth
- 40:25Speaker 3: and Bronson could have a compelling.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Feud Seth, Seth has elevated Bronson. Yes, yeah, he did,
- 40:31Speaker 2: and Bronson redeserves it, and I'm very very happy for him.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and even like the Wyatt Final Testma stuff with
- 40:39Speaker 3: the Miz added into it has been really good, especially
- 40:42Speaker 3: the fact that they're going back to the storyline from
- 40:45Speaker 3: the eight or from the B Squad or the B teams. Yes,
- 40:50Speaker 3: you know, and then and then he broke away, you know.
- 40:53Speaker 3: I mean I'd love to see Bisz like somehow bring
- 40:56Speaker 3: Curtis Axel into this because I think he's still in
- 40:58Speaker 3: the rubble.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I think that's happening. I think that's happening.
- 41:01Speaker 3: So but like that angle, you know, with carrying cross
- 41:04Speaker 3: dragging miss out, only to have the rest of the
- 41:07Speaker 3: testamen jump the why It's like just actually see some
- 41:10Speaker 3: vulnerability in the y at six and something we've talked about,
- 41:13Speaker 3: like how do you book a group like this to
- 41:16Speaker 3: have sympathy?
- 41:18Speaker 4: And they were able to pull it off. And I
- 41:21Speaker 4: think that's been really well done.
- 41:24Speaker 3: I'm not feeling Gunther and uh Damien right now, and
- 41:28Speaker 3: I think it's.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I think it's too early to tell on that one.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's the it's the Gunther respect angle. I
- 41:35Speaker 3: want Gunher to be ruthless and maybe that's what they end.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Up going that way. This is all you want him
- 41:41Speaker 4: to be a prick, yes, and it maybe it's all.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I wanted to be, an arrogant like I'm just better
- 41:46Speaker 3: than everybody else. And the fact that he can back
- 41:49Speaker 3: it up like like you know, all out of the
- 41:51Speaker 3: old school triple.
- 41:52Speaker 4: H in a sense.
- 41:52Speaker 3: But and then under the radar a little bit, a
- 41:57Speaker 3: little bit of sent between Finn and Dom I like
- 42:00Speaker 3: that as well.
- 42:01Speaker 4: That was pretty well done.
- 42:02Speaker 2: I would say, I'm really enjoying Bronson Reid and Seth
- 42:06Speaker 2: rollins Orton and Kevin Owens. I would say my under
- 42:10Speaker 2: the radar. One that I'm starting to dig is it's
- 42:13Speaker 2: not necessarily like a feud or anything like that, but
- 42:16Speaker 2: it is the inclusion of Candice Lray into the NIA
- 42:21Speaker 2: Jacks Tiffany Stratton dynamic because I'm a fan of canisl
- 42:24Speaker 2: Ray and I like that she's getting this opportunity. I'm like, hm,
- 42:27Speaker 2: that's interesting. I wonder where this goes, and I feel
- 42:29Speaker 2: like that is a slow burn that is benefiting Canisl Ray.
- 42:33Speaker 2: So those are some of the ones that I'm enjoying
- 42:35Speaker 2: right now. Bronson Reid Seth Rollins is probably my favorite
- 42:39Speaker 2: Orton and Owens is next. And then just like this
- 42:42Speaker 2: is under the radar, Like one that I'm intrigued by
- 42:46Speaker 2: is this Cancel Ray inclusion in the NIA Jacks and
- 42:49Speaker 2: Tiffany Stratton friendship.
- 42:52Speaker 3: The chomp is stuff also from last week's SmackDown I
- 42:54Speaker 3: thought was really good too, like, oh yeah, psychotic Chomper,
- 42:58Speaker 3: I think like and then you know, I actually really
- 43:01Speaker 3: did like Heel Gargano, you know, in the way you know,
- 43:04Speaker 3: the way from NXT.
- 43:05Speaker 4: So if d I Y goes Heel in this, I
- 43:09Speaker 4: think I'll be on board.
- 43:10Speaker 3: I mean, anytime you get d I Y and most
- 43:12Speaker 3: of machine guns in a match and they get fifteen
- 43:14Speaker 3: or twenty minutes. I mean, I don't think any of
- 43:16Speaker 3: us will complain about that.
- 43:18Speaker 2: What do you think about some of the dissension that's
- 43:20Speaker 2: being teased on the street profits or at least a
- 43:22Speaker 2: split I should say.
- 43:24Speaker 4: I mean, they've been teasing this for what a year
- 43:26Speaker 4: and a.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Half, three years? I think if Vince still had the
- 43:28Speaker 2: creative books, Montes Vorda was going to be gone by now.
- 43:32Speaker 2: By now with the street profits.
- 43:34Speaker 4: If Vince was still there, Dawkins would have been released by.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Now, probably unfortunately, and he's very, very talented.
- 43:40Speaker 4: But he would have been tuckered.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yes, you'd be teaching history at some sort of random
- 43:46Speaker 2: school in Iowa.
- 43:47Speaker 3: So but yeah, I mean, and then you still got
- 43:50Speaker 3: the stuff with you know, Kofe and Xavier and are
- 43:53Speaker 3: they ever are they actually going to break up?
- 43:55Speaker 4: This is reminiscent of that stuff.
- 43:57Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's funny when you have New Day
- 43:59Speaker 3: teasing a breakup, the prophets teasing a breakup, and on
- 44:02Speaker 3: the other show, the acclaimed possibly teasing a breakup, like
- 44:06Speaker 3: We're gonna break up all all of our great African
- 44:08Speaker 3: American tag teams all at one time. I mean, does
- 44:11Speaker 3: New Day and Profits break up and you get Kofi
- 44:13Speaker 3: and Angelo against Montes and Xavier, Like, does that possibly
- 44:18Speaker 3: happen like cross cross mixed this this, this Street Day
- 44:22Speaker 3: and the New Profits. I mean, I don't know what
- 44:24Speaker 3: you do with that, but uh, it's just weird that
- 44:26Speaker 3: it's all happening at the same time.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Does this feel like a Wrestlemanian build, I should say
- 44:33Speaker 2: a build towards Wrestlmanian. Does this feel like a WrestleMania
- 44:36Speaker 2: like build for you? Because I'm like, if you start
- 44:38Speaker 2: putting these matches on a card for a PLA, I'm
- 44:41Speaker 2: gonna be very excited about this. Yeah.
- 44:44Speaker 3: I mean, and we saw that a little bit, you
- 44:46Speaker 3: know in years past, where you start teasing this stuff
- 44:48Speaker 3: really early, Like we saw a little bit of Jimmy
- 44:50Speaker 3: and Jay last year to lead up to their match,
- 44:54Speaker 3: you know. So it is like, hey, if we do
- 44:57Speaker 3: these things, and then also we also know how much
- 44:59Speaker 3: money can they make when they finally get back together
- 45:02Speaker 3: down the road. So true, if you have a tag
- 45:05Speaker 3: team that maybe is struggling a little bit, you split
- 45:09Speaker 3: them up and then you bring them back together. A
- 45:10Speaker 3: couple of years later, everybody loves that. I mean, hell,
- 45:12Speaker 3: I remember miss and Morrison got back together for a
- 45:14Speaker 3: little bit. I mean that was fantastic.
- 45:15Speaker 2: So yeah, they made a song and Doctor Trey bought
- 45:18Speaker 2: that song.
- 45:18Speaker 4: I did. I was the only song on iTunes I've.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Ever paid for Hey Hey? Was it called hey Hey? Now? Now?
- 45:24Speaker 4: Yeah? Something like that?
- 45:25Speaker 2: Gar was?
- 45:27Speaker 4: I bought it for a make of a ring tone.
- 45:30Speaker 2: So yeah, lots of good stuff going on right now,
- 45:32Speaker 2: storyline wise, and wee feel free to chime in. Which
- 45:35Speaker 2: feud are you enjoying the most? Hit us up on
- 45:37Speaker 2: Twitter at SRTU podcast or on Facebook over at facebook
- 45:40Speaker 2: dot com. Slash story real does show That's true week.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Cause I got into this and I was like, you
- 45:46Speaker 2: know what, I'm coming off of a vacation week, did
- 45:49Speaker 2: not get an opportunity to really sit down and watch
- 45:51Speaker 2: the full shows of wrestling, watch a lot of highlights,
- 45:55Speaker 2: read a lot of stuff. Still got to go back
- 45:57Speaker 2: and watch a ton of shows from front to back.
- 45:59Speaker 2: I'm like, I've been sitting on this topic for a
- 46:01Speaker 2: while and it's something I think about often, and it's
- 46:04Speaker 2: what do I missed most about my wrestling fandom As
- 46:07Speaker 2: the years have gone on and like doctor Trey, I've
- 46:11Speaker 2: been a wrestling fan nearly my whole life, and I
- 46:14Speaker 2: immediately think back to growing up when I thought wrestling
- 46:18Speaker 2: was quote real, and a pay per view would air
- 46:21Speaker 2: and then the next night they would discuss the recap
- 46:25Speaker 2: of the pay per view at the top of Monday
- 46:26Speaker 2: Night Raw, and nine times out of ten that is
- 46:30Speaker 2: how I found out who won a pay per view.
- 46:33Speaker 2: It would be nearly twenty five twenty four hours later
- 46:37Speaker 2: that I would find out who won matches, and they
- 46:40Speaker 2: would do it in this like really cool style. Sometimes
- 46:42Speaker 2: it would be like Todd Pett and Gale recap and
- 46:45Speaker 2: what happened at in your house bad Blood or whatever,
- 46:49Speaker 2: or they had that same voice that they would air
- 46:52Speaker 2: for a lot of stuff, and I was like, man,
- 46:53Speaker 2: I kind of missed those days where the top of
- 46:56Speaker 2: Raw had this feel where just nostalge of recapping the
- 47:02Speaker 2: pay per view from the night before that is one
- 47:05Speaker 2: of them. As the conversation went on, Dot Tray, I
- 47:08Speaker 2: would also add the custom albums and CDs that they
- 47:12Speaker 2: would make. Foref I used to buy a lot of them.
- 47:16Speaker 2: You obviously don't have to do that anymore because you've
- 47:18Speaker 2: got iTunes. You've got Spotify, But I miss buying wrestling albums,
- 47:23Speaker 2: and then, like my last one, which I think you
- 47:25Speaker 2: and I could relate to a lot here, Dot Trey,
- 47:28Speaker 2: I miss a good wrestling video game. It has been
- 47:32Speaker 2: sometime since I bought a Raw Versus SmackDown or W
- 47:36Speaker 2: two K twenty four whatever they're calling it nowadays, and
- 47:39Speaker 2: I think the last one I legitimately bought was Raw
- 47:42Speaker 2: Versus SmackDown. They all look the same nowadays. It's like
- 47:45Speaker 2: the Madden theory that I have, where Madden NFL you
- 47:49Speaker 2: would buy it every year. You don't do that anymore
- 47:51Speaker 2: because they barely make any changes and the graphics of
- 47:54Speaker 2: the same. It would just begin an updated roster. And
- 47:57Speaker 2: that's kind of the feeling for wrestling video games for
- 48:00Speaker 2: me now as well, Doctor Trey. And I guess the
- 48:03Speaker 2: last thing in it all is just overall. When I
- 48:06Speaker 2: thought it was real and I kind of believed what
- 48:10Speaker 2: was going on, nowadays, it's like I'm just watching for
- 48:13Speaker 2: athleticism and for some good feuds going on before and
- 48:18Speaker 2: after a match. So what to you, Doctor Trey, What
- 48:21Speaker 2: do you miss most about your wrestling fandoms the years
- 48:23Speaker 2: have gone on?
- 48:26Speaker 3: For what I miss going into the stores like grocery
- 48:29Speaker 3: stores or your Walmart or whatever and going to the
- 48:31Speaker 3: magazine section and picking through two or three different wrestling magazines.
- 48:36Speaker 4: And just I don't know about you. I would always go.
- 48:38Speaker 3: To the ranking sections to see where I've got ranked,
- 48:42Speaker 3: and also to find out about guys I may have
- 48:44Speaker 3: never heard of.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Yes, Yes, was that PROG Wrestling Illustrated that would do.
- 48:48Speaker 4: It illustrated and God was the other one there was?
- 48:52Speaker 2: There was one that would do a monthly ranking system,
- 48:55Speaker 2: and I remember I would see people from WWE, w CW,
- 48:59Speaker 2: Smoky Mountain, rest a ecw all in there.
- 49:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and I I mean, I'm so old.
- 49:04Speaker 3: They actually did, like the Mid South rankings and the
- 49:06Speaker 3: World Class Champions your wrestling rankings, and that's how you
- 49:10Speaker 3: found out who a dingo warrior was before he comes
- 49:13Speaker 3: to WW becomes the ultimate Warrior, and then you and
- 49:16Speaker 3: your friends would fantasy kind of book the territories, like, oh,
- 49:20Speaker 3: what would happen if hul Cogan wrestled Rick Flair? H
- 49:23Speaker 3: what would happen if the if Brett Hart wrestled Barry Wyndham,
- 49:26Speaker 3: you know, stuff like that. That was when I actually
- 49:30Speaker 3: also like you brought up a good point, like the
- 49:35Speaker 3: if you missed a pay per view, you had to
- 49:36Speaker 3: wait the twenty four hours. Like you and I have
- 49:38Speaker 3: to avoid social media, you know if we miss something
- 49:42Speaker 3: because we don't want to get spoiled.
- 49:43Speaker 4: We still want to kind of get that thrill.
- 49:45Speaker 3: And that was that thrill of watching a Monday night
- 49:48Speaker 3: Raw or a nitro where you're like, oh my god,
- 49:50Speaker 3: like and sometimes they would recap the whole thing the
- 49:52Speaker 3: front show, and other times they would recap it throughout
- 49:55Speaker 3: the show based on what part of the show, like
- 49:58Speaker 3: the mid card would come on, you know in the
- 50:00Speaker 3: second hour, and they would recap what happened in the
- 50:03Speaker 3: Intercone title match during that segment to lead into what
- 50:07Speaker 3: they're about to do. But I the thing I missed
- 50:10Speaker 3: though about those days was finding somebody who also liked wrestling.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Like you didn't have you know, Facebook groups or Twitter
- 50:18Speaker 3: stuff or x stuff or like that. You had to
- 50:21Speaker 3: randomly run into somebody that was a wrestling fan, and
- 50:26Speaker 3: that that quiet little joy that you would get.
- 50:29Speaker 4: You like, wait, you like wrestling too? Really? I like wrestling.
- 50:33Speaker 3: It's like it's like finding a kindred spirit randomly, Like
- 50:36Speaker 3: I do miss that joy right now, it's like, oh man,
- 50:39Speaker 3: I need some wrestling friends. You just go on Facebook
- 50:41Speaker 3: and find a wrestling group and jump into it and
- 50:43Speaker 3: listen to everybody bitch about how much they hate the product.
- 50:46Speaker 3: But in those days when you and I were kids,
- 50:47Speaker 3: and you know, the new kid would move to school
- 50:49Speaker 3: and you start talking and then he sees that you
- 50:52Speaker 3: have like a whole COVID wrestling figure and he's like, wait,
- 50:55Speaker 3: you like wrestling?
- 50:56Speaker 4: I like wrestling really? Yeah? I watched right, I watched
- 50:59Speaker 4: Raw every night or everybody me too? Like that joy.
- 51:03Speaker 4: You don't get that anymore.
- 51:05Speaker 3: So it's and it's kind of sound like my kids,
- 51:07Speaker 3: like you know, Luke and Sammy are never going to
- 51:10Speaker 3: get that feeling from randomly meeting somebody almost in secret,
- 51:14Speaker 3: because we weren't allowed to talk about our wrestling.
- 51:15Speaker 4: Fandom at schools for the most parts, because the other
- 51:18Speaker 4: kids would make fun of us.
- 51:19Speaker 3: So finding that kindred spoll who was into the same
- 51:22Speaker 3: things yours just like it was a really cool feeling.
- 51:25Speaker 3: And the video game stuff, I think it was PlayStation
- 51:29Speaker 3: one or two, when when those games come out and
- 51:31Speaker 3: you can actually upload your own theme music to your character,
- 51:35Speaker 3: I thought was fantastic. It's something that I missed because
- 51:39Speaker 3: I would make a character and I would pick out
- 51:41Speaker 3: my own music from what I like, and I didn't
- 51:43Speaker 3: have to choose from mgk's soundtrack that he put together
- 51:49Speaker 3: for you know, two K twenty four, which is god awful,
- 51:52Speaker 3: but you know, you could actually pick your theme song
- 51:55Speaker 3: to fit the character you made, and it made a
- 51:57Speaker 3: lot of sense. And that's when you could kind of
- 51:59Speaker 3: do the take your e fed and make it into
- 52:02Speaker 3: real life on well and you know, into a video
- 52:05Speaker 3: game and have all your custom characters that from your
- 52:07Speaker 3: e fed onto this game with their own music and
- 52:11Speaker 3: make it kind of come to life.
- 52:12Speaker 4: So that was a pretty cool feeling that I miss Yeah,
- 52:15Speaker 4: I mean, and just you know the.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Rand, like there's no real underground wrestling show. Like when
- 52:21Speaker 3: ECW first came out, it was only.
- 52:23Speaker 4: In the Northeast.
- 52:24Speaker 3: For us in the Midwest, we would hear about it,
- 52:26Speaker 3: but we could watch it, and you know, tape training
- 52:29Speaker 3: was a thing. But even then, like, if you're just
- 52:31Speaker 3: some random kid in Arkansas, how the hell are you
- 52:35Speaker 3: gonna find somebody to trade quick? There's nothing you could
- 52:37Speaker 3: offer to get back. So for us, it's like, wait,
- 52:40Speaker 3: there's an East, there's an ECW pay per view with
- 52:43Speaker 3: the Blockbuster I can watch and then you watch it like,
- 52:45Speaker 3: oh my god, this is crazy.
- 52:46Speaker 4: How do I get more?
- 52:47Speaker 3: Like, you don't get that feeling from the gc ws
- 52:50Speaker 3: and the Wrestling Revolvers and you know the you know,
- 52:53Speaker 3: those those cool, hip little any shows they have out
- 52:56Speaker 3: there down you don't have that underground feeling like you
- 52:59Speaker 3: did back in the day.
- 53:00Speaker 4: So those are a couple of things that I miss.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm with you. I missed the And wasn't
- 53:07Speaker 2: that long ago, like fifteen years ago, just being like, hey,
- 53:09Speaker 2: did you see what's going on in Roh right now
- 53:11Speaker 2: reading about it? That was kind of the last independent
- 53:16Speaker 2: wrestling organization to meet out trip because I think the
- 53:18Speaker 2: rest I really haven't followed, and they're very, very infrequent.
- 53:22Speaker 2: I don't think GCW runs frequent shows every or nearly
- 53:26Speaker 2: every weekend like ROH was. I'm trying to think of
- 53:30Speaker 2: any others that are out there from the independent restling scene.
- 53:33Speaker 2: I don't think CZW runs as much as they used
- 53:35Speaker 2: to anymore.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Revolver that Sammy Callahan's show, they I mean they mostly
- 53:41Speaker 3: shows run monthly.
- 53:42Speaker 4: Now was what was the one in California, the everybody.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Came out of you PW no, no no, the one
- 53:48Speaker 3: when they like the stem oh, like the super indie
- 53:51Speaker 3: shows that they oh the PWG yes, like they hardly
- 53:55Speaker 3: I don't ever see them doing anything really anymore.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Super Dragon shut it down because they had like a
- 53:59Speaker 2: family of Urgency and they have not been back in
- 54:01Speaker 2: almost well over a year.
- 54:03Speaker 3: So I mean GCW I followed because I have friends
- 54:06Speaker 3: of mine that get booked on that show.
- 54:10Speaker 4: Wrestling Revolver. I really don't follow that much.
- 54:14Speaker 3: There's some other like Chikara like it has gone has
- 54:17Speaker 3: gone by the wayside a couple of the weird shows
- 54:21Speaker 3: they do out in California where they do, like the
- 54:23Speaker 3: the the Michael Jackson Zombie.
- 54:26Speaker 4: If I see something, I'm like, ah right, I'll watch it.
- 54:28Speaker 3: But yeah, there's just not really the intense super indie
- 54:33Speaker 3: proma or super indie show that you have to go
- 54:36Speaker 3: find a check out and you're like, Ring of Honor
- 54:38Speaker 3: was the last one because what Ring of Honor you know,
- 54:41Speaker 3: was up and running with when the show first started,
- 54:43Speaker 3: Like I always having to find out about Ring of
- 54:45Speaker 3: Honor stuff from you, like you were my Ring of
- 54:47Speaker 3: Honor contact, because you know, you were able to see it.
- 54:50Speaker 4: We didn't get Ring of Honor.
- 54:52Speaker 3: In the South, so I had to read about it
- 54:54Speaker 3: and sometimes reading about it or hearing about it, like
- 54:58Speaker 3: you create this image in your head or what this
- 55:01Speaker 3: show is like. And when I finally got to see
- 55:03Speaker 3: some Ring of Water back in those days, I was
- 55:05Speaker 3: never actually disappointed.
- 55:06Speaker 4: Always kind of met my expectations.
- 55:08Speaker 3: But you know when when they did the whole angle
- 55:10Speaker 3: with Kevin Stein getting fired and he was kind of
- 55:12Speaker 3: invading these when Cornet fired him and he was invading
- 55:14Speaker 3: those shows, I didn't get to see any of that stuff.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Like I had to read about it and hear about
- 55:19Speaker 3: it from you and my other friends in the Northeast,
- 55:22Speaker 3: and it was like, this is awesome and I can't
- 55:25Speaker 3: see it, which maybe like maybe want it even more.
- 55:27Speaker 3: And now it's like, yeah, like if you want to
- 55:30Speaker 3: see something, these guys are all streaming their stuff, you
- 55:32Speaker 3: can check it out. But you don't have that like
- 55:35Speaker 3: I'm missing that. You don't have that fomo, the fear
- 55:38Speaker 3: of missing out. You don't have that anymore because if
- 55:40Speaker 3: you want to see something, you can pretty much go
- 55:43Speaker 3: find it wherever you want to.
- 55:44Speaker 4: It's just those days of missing out on cool stuff
- 55:47Speaker 4: just made you want to see it more and more.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I think we should do this as a show someday,
- 55:52Speaker 2: just kind of like what you miss right your resting phantom,
- 55:53Speaker 2: because it is. When we were talking about magazines, I
- 55:56Speaker 2: was like, man, what was the magazine I would always
- 55:57Speaker 2: get when I would like do a car kyle ride
- 56:01Speaker 2: with my parents, especially like a long one, we'd always
- 56:03Speaker 2: stop and pick up a bunch of different magazines. For me,
- 56:06Speaker 2: it was Wrestling World, which I believe is now defunct.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Do you remember those?
- 56:10Speaker 4: Yeah? It was.
- 56:11Speaker 3: There was Wrestling World, There was p w I, there
- 56:14Speaker 3: was another one that was like Pro Wrestling Magazine.
- 56:18Speaker 4: I think it was like there was Hell even the
- 56:21Speaker 4: w w F magazine, you know, like they I.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Have a collection though somewhere.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I just I actually just threw out a
- 56:28Speaker 3: couple of magazines there day that somebody gave me that
- 56:30Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm never gonna look at these, but they're
- 56:32Speaker 3: just here. But uh yeah, like some of that stuff
- 56:34Speaker 3: was like school and even nine hundred numbers. Jeff, I
- 56:36Speaker 3: know they're they're frowned upon, but you know, just the
- 56:40Speaker 3: the t's, you know, the mean gene jumping on the
- 56:43Speaker 3: sign us or you know, even like those those little wards,
- 56:48Speaker 3: those little those those numbers were ways to increase anticipation
- 56:53Speaker 3: and increase that little feeling of like, oh, I'm in
- 56:55Speaker 3: the know. The fact that like we're in the know
- 56:58Speaker 3: about everything pretty much right now kind of takes away
- 57:01Speaker 3: the magic of pro wrestling.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Yeah, what was it like ninety nine cents for the
- 57:04Speaker 2: first minute, then ten cents after?
- 57:07Speaker 3: It was a dollar ninety nine for the first minute,
- 57:10Speaker 3: nine nine says reisition of a minute. Which is why
- 57:11Speaker 3: I got my ass beat by my dad, because I
- 57:14Speaker 3: thought I was out smarting the system by calling for
- 57:17Speaker 3: thirty seconds and then hanging up.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Well, you and me both. I got in trouble as
- 57:21Speaker 2: well because I there was something along the lines like
- 57:24Speaker 2: a former WF champion maybe joining ww you know, dial
- 57:28Speaker 2: this number one nine hundred nine oh nine. Was it
- 57:30Speaker 2: ninety nine hundred ninety nine hundred yep, Man, I still
- 57:33Speaker 2: remember that nine hundred number from me and Gene Okerlin,
- 57:37Speaker 2: and I called for my grandmother's house and did not
- 57:41Speaker 2: realize she was going to be charged. Also, I could
- 57:43Speaker 2: hear that Shawn Michaels was not interested in joining WSW
- 57:48Speaker 2: and boy, oh boy, did I get in a lot
- 57:50Speaker 2: of troubles, Like I did not know you were going
- 57:52Speaker 2: to get beat charged for that. I am sorry, And
- 57:56Speaker 2: somehow my grandmother got out of it. So I think
- 57:58Speaker 2: I got a free like nine hundred dial in from
- 58:02Speaker 2: WW or megene oakerlin Bio just lying about it.
- 58:07Speaker 3: I told Brian Pillman Junior that I got in trouble
- 58:10Speaker 3: because when his dad joined WCW, they kind of teased
- 58:14Speaker 3: who was his hot new free agent signing coming to WCW.
- 58:17Speaker 4: It was Brian Pillman.
- 58:18Speaker 3: But I would call because as a thirteen year old,
- 58:22Speaker 3: if it was a dollar ninety nine, for the first
- 58:24Speaker 3: minute in my head I had to get I had
- 58:27Speaker 3: to hit one minute before my dad got charged. So
- 58:30Speaker 3: if I hung up after thirty seconds, my dad would.
- 58:34Speaker 4: Not get charged. And then once again, this is us.
- 58:37Speaker 3: This is nineteen ninety ninety one, somewhere in that in
- 58:40Speaker 3: that range, and my dad comes home to a two
- 58:43Speaker 3: hundred and forty dollars landline bill, and he had just
- 58:48Speaker 3: got back from a parent teacher conference whereas my teachers
- 58:51Speaker 3: had als said how smart and wonderful student I was.
- 58:53Speaker 4: He comes home with that.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Bill and lost it, and I it's the only time
- 58:57Speaker 3: my dad ever spanked me with a belt and he
- 59:00Speaker 3: actually used the belt on me and then made go
- 59:02Speaker 3: mud lawn so like and then and I told him.
- 59:06Speaker 3: He was later, I'm like, you know, Dad, if you
- 59:07Speaker 3: just called, if you just called the phone coming he
- 59:09Speaker 3: said that my son was underage and didn't have my permission,
- 59:11Speaker 3: they would have forgave the bill. He was like, well,
- 59:16Speaker 3: you learned a lesson, didn't you. I'm like, yeah, I don't.
- 59:18Speaker 2: I never know. Theoretically I did. Pops yep, yeah, no,
- 59:23Speaker 2: those those were the days. Again. That could be something
- 59:27Speaker 2: we could do for an entire show. So that maybe
- 59:28Speaker 2: something you here pop up time and time again on SRT.
