- 0:36Speaker 4: for details. Boom a Lot's talk about two big games.
- 0:40Speaker 4: I got to watching both in their entirety, which is
- 0:42Speaker 4: nice because usually I feel guilty if I'm just spending
- 0:45Speaker 4: eight hours, nine hours watching games and I do nothing
- 0:47Speaker 4: with my life. Oh yeah, I can't imagine that.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Kids.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Oh no, I just tell them heads up, like I'm
- 0:53Speaker 5: gonna be watching you guys can join if you want,
- 0:55Speaker 5: and they usually do. For the most part, the kids
- 0:57Speaker 5: watch with me. So that's dude. That's huge when you
- 0:59Speaker 5: have kids. The wife because that and says, oh, they're
- 1:00Speaker 5: having bonding time.
- 1:01Speaker 1: That's good. Do they want to watch Yeah, most of
- 1:04Speaker 1: the time.
- 1:05Speaker 5: I mean I think third quarter they start getting a
- 1:07Speaker 5: little you know, like distracted. Then they go play, and
- 1:09Speaker 5: then they come back to the end of the game.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, Chiefs won.
- 1:13Speaker 4: I also bet Chiefs money line before the game. I
- 1:15Speaker 4: pled like two fifty one, like eight hundred or something, which.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Felt pretty good. He never really felt like the Chiefs
- 1:21Speaker 3: weren't gonna win that game.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Oh, they were in control the whole time. To be
- 1:24Speaker 1: the man, you got you gotta beat the man. They
- 1:27Speaker 1: said that during the game, you know, almost like a
- 1:31Speaker 1: not the same words, but it was like, if you
- 1:32Speaker 1: want to be a champ, you gotta beat the champ.
- 1:34Speaker 1: And I'm like close, guys, you always got it. Rick
- 1:37Speaker 1: Flair is the guy that would say, it's where I
- 1:39Speaker 1: get it from. Oh, to be the man, you gotta
- 1:42Speaker 1: beat the man. Whoo, And I am the man. So
- 1:47Speaker 1: Rick Flair was awesome.
- 1:49Speaker 3: He's more awesome to me now than he was to
- 1:52Speaker 3: me when I was a kid.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Why because he's still doing it. Nope.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Because he would just wear tights and he had long,
- 1:59Speaker 4: like blondish gray hair, so he always looked old and
- 2:02Speaker 4: he didn't wear anything cool and he wasn't ripped. Like,
- 2:05Speaker 4: there was nothing about Rick Flair except for what he
- 2:09Speaker 4: would do off and out of the ring, like yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 4: flying Mother, Lion, I'm to die, you know that stuff.
- 2:17Speaker 4: But when he wrestled, there was just nothing to him
- 2:19Speaker 4: except he was like a legendary wrestler. He was a
- 2:22Speaker 4: good wrestler. But I liked gimmicks and stuff when I
- 2:25Speaker 4: was a kid.
- 2:25Speaker 6: I watched Iron Claw the other night, watched it the
- 2:29Speaker 6: so I saw them theater. But it's just funny you
- 2:31Speaker 6: bring up Rick Flair because he's a pretty big piece
- 2:33Speaker 6: in that, especially like the back half of that movie.
- 2:36Speaker 6: And surprisingly, I don't know if I let Mike be careful,
- 2:39Speaker 6: I'm not gonna say it. I'm just saying like it
- 2:42Speaker 6: didn't what I picture Rick Flair back in the eighties
- 2:45Speaker 6: was not the reality. So just to your point, I'm
- 2:47Speaker 6: saying like, now I feel like, I mean, I wasn't
- 2:50Speaker 6: alive back then, but I feel like now it's more
- 2:52Speaker 6: he's more relevant and cooler than ever.
- 2:53Speaker 4: But yeah, he's gonna make him now because his gimmick then.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Is like fictional cooler.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Now I feel like he's such like a like then
- 3:07Speaker 5: he was something right, like I don't know. He was cocky,
- 3:10Speaker 5: he was loud, he's in your face trash talker. But
- 3:12Speaker 5: now he's like an older dude, but he's still kind
- 3:15Speaker 5: of that. Like I feel like you would find him
- 3:17Speaker 5: in the corner of a bar, Like you'd walk into
- 3:19Speaker 5: an empty bar and there'd be five dudes laughing and
- 3:21Speaker 5: he'd be in the middle, like telling stories.
- 3:22Speaker 1: He almost died. Yeah, like in the last four years ago,
- 3:26Speaker 1: probably five years yo heart attacks something.
- 3:31Speaker 4: What my mild recollection is something to do with your
- 3:36Speaker 4: body kind of giving up after years of abuse of
- 3:38Speaker 4: just drinking and also the life of a wrestler.
- 3:41Speaker 1: There's that bar thing not too far off. Then well
- 3:44Speaker 1: they actually have nothing in the bar. But anyway, Mahomes
- 3:47Speaker 1: is awesome.
- 3:48Speaker 4: I felt bad for Lamar Jackson just because they tried
- 3:52Speaker 4: so hard. They did and their season was awesome. It's
- 3:55Speaker 4: just what are you gonna do with Patrick? Mahomes and
- 3:58Speaker 4: Kelsey had an awesome game and the wide receivers caught
- 4:02Speaker 4: the ball that third and maybe four or fourth and
- 4:05Speaker 4: four whatever it was that last play where they threw
- 4:09Speaker 4: it and Valdez Scantling made that pass falling catching in
- 4:12Speaker 4: his chest regular season that had bounced off his head.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It did, or he just missed it straight. Yeah he caught.
- 4:19Speaker 4: I mean Andy Reid Ballsey goes forward in those situations,
- 4:22Speaker 4: threw it down the field, makes catch games over the end.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Can't say he wins again on the road, two games
- 4:28Speaker 4: on the road.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Like he is.
- 4:32Speaker 4: You know, I try to not let the hyper believe.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Maybe he's the new greatest quarterback of all time. Maybe
- 4:37Speaker 4: he has a chance to catch Tom Brady. We're always
- 4:40Speaker 4: looking to replace Michael Jordan with Kobe, with Lebron with
- 4:43Speaker 4: next man up right, We're always looking to replace Joe
- 4:48Speaker 4: Montana with Tom Brady with Patrick.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But it's like it's real.
- 4:53Speaker 3: If he wins this super Bowl, that's quicker than Brady
- 4:56Speaker 3: won his.
- 4:57Speaker 1: He's getting there.
- 4:59Speaker 6: Yes, he's not there. Brady won three before he ever
- 5:01Speaker 6: lost a playoff game.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But it doesn't matter. He's won two and he's lost
- 5:07Speaker 1: how many.
- 5:07Speaker 6: And he's lost or he lost a Super Mad he
- 5:10Speaker 6: got lost a playoff game both to Brady, So it's
- 5:12Speaker 6: two losses in the playoffs or guess who Brady?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, old Brady.
- 5:16Speaker 4: What if Brady's son comes and takes homes down later that'd.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Be so cool. Yeah, Mahomes is just so good. No,
- 5:24Speaker 1: he's amazing. It's crazy that.
- 5:25Speaker 4: They couldn't win in college at Texas Tech. Yeah, that
- 5:28Speaker 4: he didn't win. They didn't win. That team didn't win
- 5:31Speaker 4: with what was an NFL.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Coach, Cliff Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 4: And Patrick Mahomes I think, and Mike you might look
- 5:38Speaker 4: up the record because I'm just going by memory. I
- 5:39Speaker 4: think it was around five hundred this senior year, maybe
- 5:42Speaker 4: a game under something like that, like five and six
- 5:44Speaker 4: or whatever it was.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Isn't that wild?
- 5:47Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 5:48Speaker 4: Tom Brady didn't really start until he wasn't. He wasn't
- 5:51Speaker 4: even the guy. Yeah, he was the guy later, but
- 5:53Speaker 4: he wasn't. It was never supposed to be him.
- 5:57Speaker 1: He never know college. I mean mostly mostly.
- 6:00Speaker 4: You know, but sometimes when you never when you don't know,
- 6:02Speaker 4: that's when it's really surprising. Yeah, rock Party looked by
- 6:05Speaker 4: the way, Rock Party looked real good, and they kept going,
- 6:07Speaker 4: He's not the best athlete.
- 6:08Speaker 3: He'd break off like a twenty five yard round.
- 6:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Yeah, even like they talk about Josh Allen, you know, like, oh,
- 6:14Speaker 5: you know, no one even knew who he was in college,
- 6:16Speaker 5: and then now you look like, no they knew who
- 6:18Speaker 5: he was, but.
- 6:19Speaker 3: He didn't get I don't think he got one offer
- 6:20Speaker 3: or like no offers.
- 6:21Speaker 7: Right.
- 6:22Speaker 4: So again, those are the ones when you did know
- 6:26Speaker 4: they didn't know, but most times they know. Like look
- 6:28Speaker 4: at the other guys, they're all first round picks. All
- 6:29Speaker 4: the other seven quarterbacks in that final last week, all
- 6:32Speaker 4: seven of the others were first round picks, most of
- 6:34Speaker 4: them number one.
- 6:36Speaker 7: Yea.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Even Josh Allen was still a first round pick. Yes,
- 6:39Speaker 1: so he was kind of yeah point at that point.
- 6:41Speaker 4: But they're saying he wasn't known going into college and
- 6:43Speaker 4: also came from a small college, right right, and he
- 6:45Speaker 4: played for Wyom Yeah yeah, and he was such a
- 6:48Speaker 4: project even when he came to the NFL.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean remember the first couple of years, you're like,
- 6:51Speaker 6: I don't know if it's gonna work.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Mike, good work. Do you see Texas text record with Mahomes.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I think his best season was seven and five, barely
- 7:00Speaker 1: bull eligible. Isn't that crazy?
- 7:03Speaker 4: The best possible for sure, the best quarterbright now yeah,
- 7:08Speaker 4: probably top I would say top ten all time now yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 4: and really in the race to be top three all time,
- 7:15Speaker 4: And if he gets a couple of breaks, could be
- 7:17Speaker 4: up there with Brady.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Did you see him take that tackle where his knees
- 7:20Speaker 5: bent and he went backwards and he still didn't eim
- 7:21Speaker 5: hit the ground.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Do you see that?
- 7:23Speaker 5: My homes That was unbelievable. I was like, oh, well
- 7:26Speaker 5: he's out, he's done. Nope, we got right back up.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I didn't see that one.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I saw that second game, which was a good game
- 7:31Speaker 4: because the Lions jumped out and jumped out hard fast.
- 7:34Speaker 3: They were up seventeen points at half.
- 7:36Speaker 4: And that Brandon Ayu ball they hit the guy on
- 7:38Speaker 4: the face mask, bounced out. That was like, that's the
- 7:41Speaker 4: play they put him in the Super Bowl.
- 7:42Speaker 7: That was a.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Bless you like he says thank you. No one said
- 7:51Speaker 5: thank you.
- 7:53Speaker 4: And they played well the second half, but they had
- 7:55Speaker 4: to come back from seventeen point deficit.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But you have to have some breaks. They take advantage
- 7:59Speaker 1: of the breaks, and that was say break.
- 8:00Speaker 4: That was crazy, hit him rind in the face mask,
- 8:04Speaker 4: bounced up, brand ex sees it dives doesn't get to touchdown.
- 8:07Speaker 6: It's not like the one or the two question. You know,
- 8:10Speaker 6: they threw a flag on that play. They wanted to
- 8:12Speaker 6: call PI. Do you think if he didn't catch it,
- 8:14Speaker 6: they call that PI because they took the flag back
- 8:16Speaker 6: after he caught it. Offensive defensive because then they talked
- 8:20Speaker 6: about it on the broadcast and they were saying they're
- 8:22Speaker 6: both going for the ball, so it was the right call.
- 8:24Speaker 6: But I couldn't help but to think they threw the flag,
- 8:28Speaker 6: then he caught it, and then after they talked, so
- 8:30Speaker 6: you're saying.
- 8:30Speaker 3: It wouldn't have mattered if he caught it or not
- 8:32Speaker 3: in your opinion.
- 8:33Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I'm glad that they picked it up
- 8:35Speaker 6: because it's just a great play when we'll talk about that,
- 8:37Speaker 6: But there's a little part of me when I was thinking,
- 8:40Speaker 6: you know what, I think they picked it up because
- 8:41Speaker 6: he caught it.
- 8:43Speaker 4: So in your mind, either way, that play would have
- 8:45Speaker 4: been at the spot where it was right and no
- 8:47Speaker 4: chance it was offensive interference.
- 8:50Speaker 6: No, because he was the corner, was like coming back
- 8:52Speaker 6: towards him.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Was the ball under throne? It must have been that
- 8:57Speaker 1: I was falling backward though.
- 8:59Speaker 6: Oh yeah, were maybe either fighting or no no shot
- 9:04Speaker 6: of offensive.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Though, Okay, well I don't know. I didn't eve see
- 9:07Speaker 1: the flag. I did see the plane.
- 9:08Speaker 4: I was like, dang, I bet that comes back to
- 9:09Speaker 4: be something fun we talk about forever.
- 9:11Speaker 3: And then it turns out they wind up winning the
- 9:12Speaker 3: freaking game.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Between that and the Lamar catching his own pass, that
- 9:16Speaker 4: was awesome. Do you see that one, Eddie?
- 9:17Speaker 7: Yeah? I did. I did.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I saw that one too. It's pretty neva both saw
- 9:20Speaker 1: that One's damn. I wanted the Lions to win. I
- 9:24Speaker 1: really did, you did? I did?
- 9:25Speaker 5: I mean as a Cowboys fan, obviously I hate the
- 9:27Speaker 5: forty nine ers, but like, I just wanted that line
- 9:30Speaker 5: story to follow through all the way through the end.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And then I mean, you look at those feelings they had.
- 9:34Speaker 3: But they had it too, right.
- 9:35Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, it's not that they were overmatched, it's
- 9:38Speaker 4: not that they didn't have the talent.
- 9:38Speaker 1: They just for fourth down three times.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, on that stir maybe the second one, I thought
- 9:44Speaker 4: to myself, Okay, I'm gonna admit this on the show
- 9:47Speaker 4: tomorrow if I'm wrong, but I would kick a field
- 9:50Speaker 4: goal here, and so it was like fourth and three,
- 9:52Speaker 4: and my mind was they're going to get it and
- 9:53Speaker 4: then I'll have to come be like, you know what,
- 9:55Speaker 4: I was wrong, But I would have kick a field
- 9:57Speaker 4: goal to go up three scores at that point, and
- 9:59Speaker 4: they didn't, and they go, oh, he's known.
- 10:01Speaker 6: For going for it, and then you got a small
- 10:02Speaker 6: that you got the next player a couple plays later
- 10:05Speaker 6: was with the one.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and Gibbs fumbled that was bad.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I mean the rookies took it hard, you know.
- 10:14Speaker 5: Gibbs fumble, that was pretty bad. That was a turning point.
- 10:16Speaker 1: And then Flowers yeah, oh yeah.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Two big fumbles by rookies. But even Josh Reynolds a
- 10:21Speaker 6: couple of drops for the Lions. Big drops, big drop,
- 10:24Speaker 6: like for sure, first down right in the gut. Yeah,
- 10:26Speaker 6: And I watched him walk off and Nan Campbell's cool.
- 10:28Speaker 6: He was like, hey, man, hang in there. I mean,
- 10:30Speaker 6: hit him right in the gut. Nobody on him on
- 10:32Speaker 6: a third down. Yeah, that's Lions had it. The Lions
- 10:34Speaker 6: had it.
- 10:35Speaker 1: They lost it.
- 10:36Speaker 4: San Francisco played well enough that if Detroit screwed up enough, they.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Could win the game. And they did.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 5: My wife in the third quarter goes, wow, Chiefs, chiefs, lins,
- 10:48Speaker 5: it's gonna be a cool super Bowl. And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Game's not over. We have like a quarter and a
- 10:53Speaker 5: half left. She's like, no, they're probably two touchdowns.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Watched this, did you ever feel like it was over.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Nope, me, neither never did there at all, only because
- 11:02Speaker 4: of the legacy of the Lions. Yeah, it's like when
- 11:05Speaker 4: I'm watching an Arkansas game, it's never over, even if
- 11:07Speaker 4: we're up.
- 11:08Speaker 7: Dude.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sorry, Yeahuchy's no.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I'm talking about any sport.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Oh, okay, anything. Yeah, I was talking about that game.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Yeah, no, no, no, I did see Muss on the game
- 11:15Speaker 6: day they were at Arkansas.
- 11:16Speaker 4: They were yes, and we played Kentucky pretty good. We're
- 11:18Speaker 4: just not very I'm okay with us not being very
- 11:20Speaker 4: good this year. I guess I don't like it and
- 11:22Speaker 4: it's not fun for me. But if you would have said, hey,
- 11:24Speaker 4: in five years, you're going to go to two Elite
- 11:26Speaker 4: eates in a Sweet sixteen and have one bad year,
- 11:29Speaker 4: would you take that?
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair.
- 11:31Speaker 4: So I just have to look at it kind of
- 11:32Speaker 4: like that, because it's definitely not a good year. We
- 11:35Speaker 4: could still somehow shape up and when the SC Tournament
- 11:39Speaker 4: probably not, but I would love to see that happen.
- 11:41Speaker 4: I always have hope, hope and faith. But yeah, I'm okay.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Don't worry about me, guys. I don't send food.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Over well, we thought about it. Yeah, I was gonna
- 11:50Speaker 1: come over.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Yeah, hey, Reed, did you watch any games?
- 11:54Speaker 1: No?
- 11:55Speaker 8: The night we were going to watch a game, the
- 11:57Speaker 8: girlfriend wanted to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factories.
- 12:00Speaker 1: That's what we watched. Is there a new Charlie and
- 12:02Speaker 1: Talk Factory with them?
- 12:02Speaker 8: No, it's the old one. What We went to Salt
- 12:04Speaker 8: Wonka in the movie theater. And so the next night
- 12:06Speaker 8: we watched Charlie And.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Did you tell her it was the game before the
- 12:10Speaker 4: Super Bowl and that you're on a show.
- 12:14Speaker 8: I had it pulled up on my phone, not the game,
- 12:17Speaker 8: but just the stats.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I was refreshing.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Yeah, so did you bet it?
- 12:21Speaker 1: No?
- 12:21Speaker 8: I didn't bet that. I bet basketball ended up losing.
- 12:25Speaker 1: It's all good.
- 12:26Speaker 3: So you don't watch you watch anything?
- 12:27Speaker 8: No, just Charlie.
- 12:29Speaker 4: You know what's a good boyfriend? Because you had to
- 12:31Speaker 4: drive and travel to see your girlfriend.
- 12:32Speaker 8: Yeah, it was an important, important weekend.
- 12:34Speaker 3: So so you drove back this morning?
- 12:37Speaker 8: Yep, so I drove. I left around seven thirty last night,
- 12:42Speaker 8: stayed at her sister's boyfriend's place in Memphis, got there
- 12:46Speaker 8: round one, and then left around.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Her sister's boyfriend's place. Yeah, did you know this guy?
- 12:52Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, he met him before.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, he's a good dude. And so and then
- 12:57Speaker 8: I left around six thirty this morning and just got
- 13:00Speaker 8: here right before we started. You tired a little bit,
- 13:03Speaker 8: but I'm making it through.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Man, Did you bet the parlay that I said to
- 13:07Speaker 3: bet we hit it again?
- 13:08Speaker 7: No?
- 13:08Speaker 8: I didn't, No, I didn't.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Weren't a streak unlike any other I know.
- 13:12Speaker 8: It's freaking amazing, two weeks streak.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Hey, it's just a long time along streak. Hey, we're
- 13:18Speaker 4: fourteen in a row days.
- 13:22Speaker 2: There you go.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I love tittle tattle.
- 13:23Speaker 7: Let's go.
- 13:28Speaker 1: The tittle tattles.
- 13:32Speaker 6: Continuing on the games here, do you feel like the
- 13:34Speaker 6: Chiefs won the AFC Championship where the Ravens lost it?
- 13:37Speaker 1: Oh, the Chiefs won it. I mean the Ravens had
- 13:39Speaker 1: to press at the end a bit. Chiefs are I don't.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Know if you guys have ever heard this saying, but
- 13:44Speaker 4: to beat the man, you got to beat the man.
- 13:45Speaker 1: No, never heard it.
- 13:46Speaker 4: And no, Buffalo can't beat the man. The Ravens can't
- 13:48Speaker 4: beat the man. And the man's Patrick Mahomes with his
- 13:51Speaker 4: sidekick Travis Kelsey.
- 13:52Speaker 3: But the defense is really good.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Right, I think my Homes is getting a lot of
- 13:55Speaker 4: credit because he's awesome, but that Kansady defense is strong,
- 14:00Speaker 4: and so I do think that the Ravens had three turnovers.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Two of them were in a second. I mean, they
- 14:05Speaker 4: were pressing, they were having to make some some dicey
- 14:11Speaker 4: decisions to try to make things happen late read Do
- 14:13Speaker 4: you remember right?
- 14:13Speaker 3: I wish I ever to play the game.
- 14:14Speaker 8: Yeah. I was actually just thinking in my head that
- 14:17Speaker 8: you asked if I bet on the game, and I
- 14:19Speaker 8: was like, I said no, man, I just thought I did.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Actually I did a parlay the one that I said
- 14:24Speaker 1: to do.
- 14:25Speaker 8: No, it was a different I still lost, though, but
- 14:28Speaker 8: I won though.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yeah that's great.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, thanks thanks Red.
- 14:32Speaker 8: Yeah see you guys.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Yeah, go ahead, Reed's got it.
- 14:38Speaker 6: Second question there after another subpar performance from the playoffs.
- 14:41Speaker 1: So what is your takeaway from Lamar this season? He's
- 14:43Speaker 1: going to be the MVP. He deserves to be the MVP.
- 14:47Speaker 4: He didn't get hurt all year. That's crazy. He was two, three,
- 14:52Speaker 4: four games out the last few seasons. That's why they
- 14:55Speaker 4: were like, I don't know if we can sign them.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Something new for Lamar.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, se Championship game stats not great.
- 15:01Speaker 1: They did win around.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Good for them, that's good, right, but it's not. I
- 15:04Speaker 4: think this team this year was ready.
- 15:05Speaker 1: It was they.
- 15:06Speaker 3: It was Super Bowl or bust to be satisfied.
- 15:09Speaker 4: But he threw for what thirty six hundred yards, twenty
- 15:13Speaker 4: four touchdown, seven interceptions. He ran almost thousand yards. He's
- 15:19Speaker 4: got four more years in his prime, probably three to
- 15:22Speaker 4: four more years in his prime, and then three to
- 15:24Speaker 4: four more years of being really good. But it sucks
- 15:27Speaker 4: they lost this year to them. This was their year.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Everything about this year, so Lamar's if he stays healthy,
- 15:34Speaker 4: he's as good as anybody else, and he was this
- 15:36Speaker 4: year better.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Did you feel like, kind of going back to the
- 15:39Speaker 6: game even, did you feel like they try to use
- 15:40Speaker 6: him too much with his arm, like almost prove a
- 15:43Speaker 6: point because they had I saw sixteen carries total and
- 15:46Speaker 6: they averaged five yards of carry, but they hardly.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Ran the ball.
- 15:51Speaker 4: When I start questioning the coaching, I have a check
- 15:54Speaker 4: in with myself because just anything, not even this, and
- 15:58Speaker 4: I'm like, why aren't they? And then I go, hey,
- 16:00Speaker 4: like it, what's up? You're watching this on TV from home?
- 16:04Speaker 7: Why?
- 16:05Speaker 1: Well?
- 16:06Speaker 4: Because I really wasn't good enough to play at this level. Yeah, yeah, right, So,
- 16:09Speaker 4: but why didn't you become a coach? I didn't want to.
- 16:10Speaker 4: But maybe, though, do you think if you you what
- 16:13Speaker 4: a coach you could?
- 16:14Speaker 1: Well maybe, but you didn't though, right?
- 16:15Speaker 8: No?
- 16:16Speaker 4: And who knows more about the players, the personnel, the
- 16:18Speaker 4: people than the coaches there? Well they do, okay, then
- 16:21Speaker 4: shut up. That's kind of the conversation to have with myself.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Be barbecue. Yeah, barbecue, it's like barbecue. Coaches like barbecue,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and everybody does it. No, it's not you guys will
- 16:32Speaker 1: hear about that later. Do you think though, that any
- 16:35Speaker 1: coach looks is playing in the AFC Championship and like
- 16:37Speaker 1: trying to prove a point other than just by winning
- 16:40Speaker 1: the game.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Right, it's probably based on personnel matchups and lamar who
- 16:47Speaker 4: knows what he's checking out of?
- 16:50Speaker 3: No, I didn't have that thought.
- 16:51Speaker 4: I try to keep myself from those thoughts and second
- 16:52Speaker 4: guests and coaching because I'm not there and I don't
- 16:54Speaker 4: know smarterview.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I know it's easy to do.
- 16:58Speaker 6: After his historic second comeback, do you think brock Party
- 17:01Speaker 6: has shut his doubters up for.
- 17:03Speaker 4: A week, Well, for two weeks. It's a great game.
- 17:06Speaker 4: He played really, really well. He threw for two sixty
- 17:08Speaker 4: seven a touchdown interception, rush for fifty yards was those
- 17:11Speaker 4: runs were huge, they came at perfect times, and they
- 17:14Speaker 4: were long. I'm not sure if he had I don't
- 17:17Speaker 4: know how many rushes they credited him with, but he
- 17:20Speaker 4: had two that were like around twenty twenty five yards.
- 17:23Speaker 4: There were game changers, the one where he busted up
- 17:24Speaker 4: the middle. He ran through and then there was just
- 17:27Speaker 4: wide open. I mean, he'd looked like an athlete and
- 17:29Speaker 4: they're like, well, it's not that athletic, but he's athletic
- 17:33Speaker 4: enough to actually hurt him with your legs if you
- 17:35Speaker 4: give him the chance to do so.
- 17:36Speaker 1: He also threw it well. So the one pick, when
- 17:40Speaker 1: was the pick in the first half, the lines the
- 17:43Speaker 1: linebacker right in the middle. Yeah, and they scorn on that.
- 17:45Speaker 1: That was a big play. That was a big play.
- 17:47Speaker 4: I think brock Party played really well because the Lions
- 17:49Speaker 4: are really good defense. I think brock Party is a
- 17:52Speaker 4: really good quarterback. And people now I think that hate
- 17:56Speaker 4: on him, like the Clicks think he's shown he's really
- 18:01Speaker 4: he's actually good. Yeah, he's got weapons, but so did
- 18:03Speaker 4: freaking Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Roger Craig Okay, you want
- 18:08Speaker 4: to go through now.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I was testing to see if you knew more John Taylor,
- 18:11Speaker 1: Dallas Clark, Tom Rathman, we could keep going. Ronnie Lott
- 18:16Speaker 1: the safety Yeah, man, you never knew Charles Haley?
- 18:20Speaker 6: Yeah, everybody?
- 18:24Speaker 9: All right?
- 18:24Speaker 1: Who else?
- 18:25Speaker 6: One facing criticism for his decision to not kick a
- 18:28Speaker 6: field goal in the fourth quarter? Do you think Dan
- 18:30Speaker 6: Campbell made the wrong decision?
- 18:31Speaker 1: No, because he was consistent.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I think for me it felt weird if he was
- 18:35Speaker 4: like one time he did and didn't want to.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I liked that he was consistent with it. It was
- 18:39Speaker 3: wrong every time?
- 18:40Speaker 1: Yeah, like it.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Let me say that again. It didn't work out the
- 18:44Speaker 4: way they had hoped. But I do enjoy consistency because
- 18:47Speaker 4: it also lets your team know that you believe in him.
- 18:50Speaker 4: They had been more successful than not over the year
- 18:53Speaker 4: by that. But yes, that there were There's twice where
- 18:56Speaker 4: I was like, God, I would kick a field goal.
- 18:57Speaker 4: But then I'm like, Bobby, what's up? Have you been
- 19:00Speaker 4: coaching for how long?
- 19:02Speaker 1: This conversation?
- 19:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I have it all the time, but I've
- 19:04Speaker 4: had a lot of different things. So it did not
- 19:06Speaker 4: work out. I did at one point disagree, like I said,
- 19:10Speaker 4: but I did like it. The news consistent, and I
- 19:13Speaker 4: think those guys love him, and I think he was
- 19:15Speaker 4: real honest after too, he was like I told the guys,
- 19:17Speaker 4: this maybe the only shot we have at it. So
- 19:19Speaker 4: I like Dan Campbell. It took me a second. It
- 19:22Speaker 4: took me a second not to like him, but to
- 19:25Speaker 4: understand that's really who he was, not just a fun
- 19:30Speaker 4: fireworks show for a minute. Yeah, because some of those
- 19:32Speaker 4: raw row guys, you know, you hear it once or twice.
- 19:36Speaker 4: But I think his players really believe in him. So
- 19:39Speaker 4: Lione's had a great season. I know it's not really
- 19:41Speaker 4: what they wanted, but I think if you asked him,
- 19:43Speaker 4: they'd do this again the exact same way, just get
- 19:47Speaker 4: a little better. And they did get a little farther
- 19:49Speaker 4: and they did. So congratulations to the Lions. But to
- 19:52Speaker 4: be the man, you gotta beat the man, right Patrick Mahomes.
- 19:56Speaker 4: I saw the They opened up as a point and
- 19:59Speaker 4: a half underdog. I don't know what it is now,
- 20:01Speaker 4: but San Francisco was a point a half favorite.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Oh wow, I haven't even looked at that. I'm still
- 20:06Speaker 5: licking my wounds from Sunday.
- 20:08Speaker 6: You are why you texted us yesterday and he said,
- 20:11Speaker 6: Brock pretty is making me mad.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, just because I mean, he keeps proving me wrong.
- 20:15Speaker 5: I'm a hater. I've always been a and man. He
- 20:19Speaker 5: just like he just got better and better as the
- 20:21Speaker 5: game went on, and.
- 20:22Speaker 3: People love that.
- 20:22Speaker 4: When he has a bad game, they going hard on him. Yeah,
- 20:25Speaker 4: but every quarterback has a Peyton Manning. The year they
- 20:28Speaker 4: won the last Sup Bowl had terrible like there are
- 20:32Speaker 4: a lot of all quarterback Tom Brady had playoff games
- 20:35Speaker 4: that were not good where the defense had to save him.
- 20:37Speaker 4: But boy, you get rock Party. One bad game, he sucks.
- 20:41Speaker 1: It's that one right now.
- 20:42Speaker 3: It's at one, all right. Tittle Tattle over, thank you
- 20:46Speaker 3: name the Tittle Tattle.

- 21:01Speaker 4: on the show. We just hitting Parlay's Chiefs money line.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Hey, it took some balls to pick. It could have
- 21:08Speaker 3: taken the points.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I did not know.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Because to be the man, you gotta beat the man.
- 21:11Speaker 4: What I always say, so as a win forty nine
- 21:13Speaker 4: ers money line. I did worry about that a little bit.
- 21:14Speaker 4: But at the same time, I also had the Lions
- 21:16Speaker 4: plus seven and a half, so I hit them both.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I was in that one person as a personal one bet.
- 21:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Well, because it got when it hit seven and a
- 21:25Speaker 4: half before the game, that's when I took it. I
- 21:28Speaker 4: wasn't gonna bet it at seven, but if they're gonna
- 21:30Speaker 4: give me an extra half point, let's go.
- 21:32Speaker 1: So I did.
- 21:33Speaker 4: But when it was ten, I was a little worried
- 21:35Speaker 4: there at the end, and then my home's over two
- 21:37Speaker 4: thirty nine.
- 21:38Speaker 3: He thok for two forty one.
- 21:40Speaker 1: It was literally last past.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it's crazy. It was crazy, So we want baby.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Let's go well on hot Streak. If you want to
- 21:49Speaker 4: take the twenty five whistles parlay, you can check out

- 21:58Speaker 4: A gambling problem called one hundred game in New York
- 22:00Speaker 4: call eight seven seven eight hope and wire text ope
- 22:02Speaker 4: and y four six seven three six nine guys, I
- 22:11Speaker 4: got myself into I'm not gonna say trouble.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Oh but and I just got to notice and one
- 22:18Speaker 3: of them was delivered to the house.
- 22:20Speaker 1: So if you get on TikTok and I'd sent you
- 22:22Speaker 1: guys little videos, I didn't even know what it was.
- 22:24Speaker 1: What is this?
- 22:25Speaker 4: And I'd always scrolled by and like, what are they selling?
- 22:27Speaker 4: Because they'd never show anybody's face. It would just show
- 22:29Speaker 4: like boxes and so it stays boxes and hands, yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 4: and a sign up sheet. So it was like, hey,
- 22:37Speaker 4: pay thirty bucks and you can pick a team. And
- 22:40Speaker 4: so I thought, you pay thirty bucks and you just
- 22:43Speaker 4: get whatever helmets from that team.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I didn't realize it was like a lottery.
- 22:46Speaker 4: They're only opening three boxes, but thirty two teams have
- 22:50Speaker 4: been bought, so it's like thirty two times thirty, so
- 22:55Speaker 4: you have nine hundred dollars or whatever, but they give
- 22:57Speaker 4: away three helmets. They don't know what's in the boxes.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Boxes come seal.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I didn't realize that until all the teams are.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Filling up, and I was like, I just paid this
- 23:04Speaker 4: money and I got like a one to ten chance.
- 23:06Speaker 1: This is stupid.
- 23:07Speaker 5: How much mind you put in thirty five thirty nine
- 23:11Speaker 5: something that thirty nine dollars, Yes, that's not that's great.
- 23:14Speaker 6: Okay, okay, but you're seeing thirty five hundred for Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I'd be freaking out. Thirty nine dollars. You say it's great,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but twenty six people don't win, right right? Hey man, hey,
- 23:27Speaker 1: that's the game. That's the game.
- 23:28Speaker 4: But you're going for these signed helmets. I didn't realize
- 23:32Speaker 4: it was like a lottery, which makes me not want
- 23:33Speaker 4: to do all the time. Now, I didn't really I
- 23:34Speaker 4: thought if I could just buy them, be like eh.
- 23:36Speaker 4: So I was like, I will go in whatever, and
- 23:38Speaker 4: so I picked the There are only like two teams left.
- 23:42Speaker 4: One of them was the stupid Commanders, and I was like,
- 23:45Speaker 4: all right, I take the Commanders. They opened the goddang
- 23:47Speaker 4: box and guess what it is, Brian Robinson signed Commander helmet.
- 23:51Speaker 1: The helmet's sick too. I think it's in my house today.
- 23:55Speaker 4: So I won, and I'm like what I thought everybody
- 23:58Speaker 4: won them when I realized they did, and I was like,
- 23:59Speaker 4: I just pissed away forty dollars. And then I won
- 24:02Speaker 4: the signed helmet in running back for the Commanders.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So I was like, this is crazy. I gotta do
- 24:06Speaker 3: it again.
- 24:07Speaker 1: And I told my wife and I said, this is
- 24:09Speaker 1: what's going on.
- 24:10Speaker 4: And it was like forty two bucks for the second one,
- 24:15Speaker 4: and I said, I'm gonna buy two teams. She was like,
- 24:18Speaker 4: we have to watch this the whole time because they
- 24:20Speaker 4: don't go until it's full.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yeah. How long does that take, dude? Like twenty minutes?
- 24:24Speaker 4: One time she was with me, and so I bought
- 24:26Speaker 4: the Titans. Okay, nice, and I bought them pretty early.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Now they understood the rules, and I bought the Bears.
- 24:33Speaker 1: And so.
- 24:35Speaker 4: They opened three boxes and in each box there was
- 24:40Speaker 4: a jersey and a helmet, but they didn't go to
- 24:43Speaker 4: the same team. So they pull out the first jersey.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Mike Singletary signed Bears jersey. Wow, I freaking won again.
- 24:52Speaker 7: That's amazing.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I'm like, what is it. She's like what I said,
- 24:55Speaker 1: Mike Singletary, he's awesome.
- 24:57Speaker 7: Play.
- 24:57Speaker 4: She goes whatever, you're just saying that because you want
- 24:59Speaker 4: because she was like, you just wasting money.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 25:01Speaker 4: So they open up like the last one and it's
- 25:04Speaker 4: a Houston Oilers helmet and I'm like, that's the Titans,
- 25:07Speaker 4: because Oilers were the Titans. Please don't say they were
- 25:09Speaker 4: the Texans because they weren't. And he goes, Warren Moon
- 25:11Speaker 4: signed official helmets.
- 25:13Speaker 1: What on earth? He said, Houston Oilers. So this goes
- 25:16Speaker 1: to the Titans.
- 25:16Speaker 4: I won a Warren Moon helmet, Mike Singletary signed jersey,
- 25:21Speaker 4: and then the helmet I'd already got. So so I'm
- 25:25Speaker 4: like one hundred and thirty bucks in and I've got
- 25:28Speaker 4: two helmets.
- 25:29Speaker 1: One that's what.
- 25:30Speaker 3: And I was like, Warren Moon.
- 25:31Speaker 1: My wife said, you're exaggerating Warren Moon. No. I was like,
- 25:35Speaker 1: you don't never heard. He's older, Like he's awesome.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Yeah, and so she's like really, and I was like yes,
- 25:40Speaker 4: I can't believe b one. And she's like, I bet
- 25:42Speaker 4: everybody wins because she wasn't watching like I was, because
- 25:45Speaker 4: she was just like we're waiting for to watch a show.
- 25:48Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, so I couldn't. I was thirty
- 25:50Speaker 1: for three. Yeah, I couldn't believe it. Let's go one more.
- 25:52Speaker 3: So I got so the next day I'm on the toilet.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And I get on it.
- 25:57Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm gonna do one more and he hit again.
- 25:59Speaker 4: I didn't hit, and I was like, okay, I'm back
- 26:01Speaker 4: to back to reality.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Taxes yes.
- 26:03Speaker 4: So I'm like one hundred and seventy bucks in. I
- 26:05Speaker 4: got a Singletary jersey, two helmets, all signed, and before
- 26:10Speaker 4: I get off, I'm like, let's just go one more time.
- 26:13Speaker 4: And it was one of those where there's a jersey
- 26:16Speaker 4: and a helmet each one and they're all different, and
- 26:18Speaker 4: I get in kind of early and I'm like, I'm going,
- 26:20Speaker 4: since Nat draw something like a Chargers there was something
- 26:27Speaker 4: and the last thing they pulled a Jamar Chase signed jersey.
- 26:30Speaker 4: What I wanted jam Chase?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Oh my dude, what on earth? You won four things?
- 26:38Speaker 1: I had to pay forty bucks. That's dirt cheap. I
- 26:42Speaker 1: know that's dirt cheap. What are we doing with these things? Yeah?
- 26:46Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I have nothing to do with them.
- 26:48Speaker 1: We gotta start a sports bar or something.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I have. I have Mike Singletary, Jamar Chase jerseys.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Coming in, Warren Moon and the Commanders.
- 26:59Speaker 4: And the Brian Robinson, the running back of Commander's helmets
- 27:02Speaker 4: coming in.
- 27:03Speaker 1: See you send me the video of the Commanders. When
- 27:05Speaker 1: I'm like, let's just a random helmet. Didn't know your
- 27:08Speaker 1: commander's fan, didn't know you were a Brian Robinson fan
- 27:11Speaker 1: had no idea what this was.
- 27:13Speaker 4: I know, I just picked a freaking team his last
- 27:14Speaker 4: one up, or like there were like two left, like
- 27:16Speaker 4: the Panthers and the Commanders.
- 27:19Speaker 1: That's crazy. So is it the same? Is it new
- 27:23Speaker 1: people each time?
- 27:24Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 27:25Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, Cause imagine being like you're on that like
- 27:28Speaker 6: your four times and then this this guy.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Wins four times. Yeah, yeah, you don't win once.
- 27:33Speaker 4: I got two of them in the same time, though,
- 27:34Speaker 4: the single turn and the warn moon were in the
- 27:35Speaker 4: same the same They call.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It a break. Did anybody say anything?
- 27:39Speaker 3: They well, yes and no. The guy he'd write, he'd
- 27:43Speaker 3: writes her name not pece.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Paper like a new marker, and he goes, oh, Bobby Bones,
- 27:47Speaker 4: and then everybody's like five bones in here.
- 27:49Speaker 1: No way the real vibe.
- 27:50Speaker 4: So that thing kind of took over more so than
- 27:52Speaker 4: people were like pissed that I want to but dude,
- 27:57Speaker 4: like I want to do it right now?
- 27:58Speaker 1: Those people ever show their face or is it just
- 28:00Speaker 1: their hands? And I thought about asking for a face,
- 28:02Speaker 1: but then I thought that sounded like crazy. It's a
- 28:03Speaker 1: little weird. You see how that comes off a little
- 28:06Speaker 1: weird face? Can I see your face? Can I see
- 28:08Speaker 1: I mean I did think about that. I was like,
- 28:10Speaker 1: what do you guys look like anyway? Yeah?
- 28:11Speaker 7: Face and feet?
- 28:12Speaker 1: And then one guy was.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Like, man, I got a messy.
- 28:17Speaker 1: So this is another one. This is they're on right now? Dude, there,
- 28:20Speaker 1: it's constant. There's tons of people doing it. Can we
- 28:23Speaker 1: can we all go in on one right now?
- 28:25Speaker 9: Uh yeah?
- 28:27Speaker 3: Let me see what they're selling.
- 28:27Speaker 1: It was forty bucks. We all do Timbo. This is
- 28:29Speaker 1: absolute and.
- 28:33Speaker 4: This is the college football Serial number Break NFL football team.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I don't know what they're giving away here. I heard
- 28:47Speaker 1: Lionel messy. I want that, did you?

- 28:56Speaker 3: Spot one spot should be non existent by.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I don't know what. It is a lot of energy
- 29:08Speaker 1: in that room. It says.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Solo edition.
- 29:15Speaker 1: You shot hit those massive kbs if you don't have
- 29:18Speaker 1: if you do not have a spot in her, you

- 29:41Speaker 4: Just like a yeah, they're all they're all breaks, and
- 29:44Speaker 4: they're all live TikTok life, interacting with others, Christmas baks

- 30:06Speaker 1: if you get any team of the division, you get
- 30:07Speaker 1: the jersey. Yeah, I got I got him, I get
- 30:09Speaker 1: sent on it. Next you want to let's do it.
- 30:13Speaker 1: That's fort that's forty. We would need to go like,
- 30:17Speaker 1: are you in and know I'll be in fifteen. Let's two.

- 30:52Speaker 1: We're letting, you know, come on to buy the other one. Here,
- 30:58Speaker 1: Michael Parsons Jersey. Which one you want?
- 31:00Speaker 4: There's a f C No, there's no a f C East,
- 31:03Speaker 4: There's a f C North, a f C West, a
- 31:05Speaker 4: f C South, NFC North.
- 31:06Speaker 1: And NFC SOUTHFC North. You picked the last one, Eddie.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I'm just looking. I'm just looking. But hurry though. You
- 31:15Speaker 1: guys want South. What did you say? You say NFC South?
- 31:19Speaker 1: Isn't there n South?
- 31:21Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 31:22Speaker 1: I don't want the AFC North into that n s
- 31:25Speaker 1: C South. Really what are the other ones again? N
- 31:30Speaker 1: f C North that could be cool. Yeah, North's pretty good, okay,
- 31:34Speaker 1: n North?
- 31:36Speaker 5: Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah, oh yeah. You're looking at
- 31:42Speaker 5: Vikings Bears packers.
- 31:44Speaker 10: Much the single Jersey break the n f C East
- 31:48Speaker 10: is going to.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Uh, mister Bobby didn't win.
- 31:56Speaker 1: We didn't win, he said, mister Bobby, he's telling me,
- 31:58Speaker 1: who telling that we didn't win?
- 32:02Speaker 3: He opens it. But I have that one, We have
- 32:04Speaker 3: that one under my name, and then we have the one.
- 32:06Speaker 1: We just buy it. My heart taking very much, mister Bobby,
- 32:09Speaker 1: No problem anytime.
- 32:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 3: So then they listen to music until everybody fills it.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Off and sometimes six forever. That's the Cranberry, But that's
- 32:21Speaker 1: not the Cranberry sing. Did you get a call?
- 32:26Speaker 3: Ignore it?
- 32:27Speaker 1: I gotta I did get a call.
- 32:28Speaker 4: I had order minute ago, said something like nine one emergency.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, don't worry about that. We'll take care
- 32:32Speaker 1: of that later.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Okay, I'll see how you are left and we can
- 32:38Speaker 4: move on it.
- 32:40Speaker 1: A single jersey break, So it's one.
- 32:42Speaker 4: He's gonna open one jersey and that's it, and there
- 32:45Speaker 4: are still four divisions. Six to go.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Uh three, we got the NC war two.
- 32:56Speaker 7: The others are open.
- 33:02Speaker 4: I want to turn it down until we until they
- 33:05Speaker 4: get closer to breaking it. So that's what you do,
- 33:09Speaker 4: and then you watch and you go, and then you
- 33:11Speaker 4: get freaking jersey from a backup center.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I got Mike Singletary and Jamar Chase. That's crazy, dude.
- 33:19Speaker 4: That's what I did this weekend. And I just got
- 33:22Speaker 4: to notice that something has landed at the house. I
- 33:24Speaker 4: think it's that that helmet. I gotta stop, though, because
- 33:27Speaker 4: I'm gonna have so much crap and I don't even
- 33:29Speaker 4: want it.
- 33:31Speaker 3: It's just fun to do.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I know, Like I'm gonna wear this
- 33:33Speaker 1: stuff to work. You start thinking, like, what am I
- 33:35Speaker 1: gonna do with this thing?
- 33:36Speaker 4: If I show up on Jamar Chase jersey and I'm
- 33:39Speaker 4: wearing it, it's probably signed.
- 33:40Speaker 1: That's legit though. Warren Moon helmet, that's legit though. That's
- 33:44Speaker 1: the one that's super legit.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Like what am I to do with the Mike Singletary
- 33:47Speaker 4: jersey though, because I'm gonna frame it right?
- 33:49Speaker 1: But that is SU That's cool. B Y.
- 33:51Speaker 3: You students a rest remove their T shirts that read
- 33:53Speaker 3: horned down.
- 33:54Speaker 1: This was so stupid.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Come on over on kind of the baseline right behind
- 33:59Speaker 4: the goal, kind of the right of it. They wore
- 34:01Speaker 4: white T shirts h on one oh or another R
- 34:03Speaker 4: all the way horns down and then at the first
- 34:05Speaker 4: time out they went and had them change their shirt.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Come on, so dumb tech.
- 34:08Speaker 4: Whomever's doing this not sure who told them to do so. However,
- 34:16Speaker 4: it could have been B WHYU. It could have been
- 34:17Speaker 4: Texas telling B WHYU. It's gonna be real bad for
- 34:20Speaker 4: Texas because everybody's they're going into the SEC now where
- 34:23Speaker 4: they're not king dingling anymore, and people are gonna.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Be like we do not care what you want.
- 34:29Speaker 4: They'll do horns out night at an arena where they
- 34:32Speaker 4: make one big h in this section, one big oh,
- 34:34Speaker 4: in this section, one big So it's not a good
- 34:38Speaker 4: look for Texas. Yeah, you gotta hope it's not them,
- 34:42Speaker 4: but it doesn't even matter because it was them when
- 34:44Speaker 4: the coach did it. And that's what's made all this happen.
- 34:47Speaker 4: If I were Texas, that's a compliment. I've said it before.
- 34:49Speaker 4: They're taking your gesture and using it against you. That
- 34:51Speaker 4: means they have to know your gesture. That means it's
- 34:54Speaker 4: in their brain, it's in their consciousness. How many gestures
- 34:58Speaker 4: do you know? Only a few?
- 35:00Speaker 5: And my five year old now things horns down is
- 35:02Speaker 5: just boo everyone. He horns down every team, doesn't matter
- 35:06Speaker 5: what time. Maybe he's just saying down with the devil.
- 35:09Speaker 5: Maybe maybe that's what he's saying too.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Let's see where we are on this. Come on, come on, baby,
- 35:14Speaker 1: I need this.
- 35:15Speaker 10: Well.
- 35:17Speaker 1: What are we gonna do if we What are we
- 35:18Speaker 1: gonna do if we win it? Though, there's still four
- 35:23Speaker 1: things left. We hang it up on your desk and
- 35:25Speaker 1: we do the show, all right? Still four left? Like
- 35:36Speaker 1: four spots of Phil.
- 35:42Speaker 10: Got three down in the single Jersey break, we had
- 35:48Speaker 10: the NFC South left and then all four of the AOC.
- 35:59Speaker 3: I mean, I just want to buy another one to
- 36:01Speaker 3: get a moving.
- 36:02Speaker 1: They don't do that. I'm telling you.
- 36:04Speaker 7: Trap.
- 36:05Speaker 1: It's a trap, all right? Moving on? Uh, Chiefs Fort
- 36:08Speaker 1: or super Bowl?
- 36:09Speaker 10: We know that.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Uh.
- 36:11Speaker 1: People say they like the halftime show. No they don't.
- 36:14Speaker 4: Nobody likes half time show. Doesn't matter who it is more.
- 36:15Speaker 4: More people complain than anything. What halftime show exactly? I
- 36:19Speaker 4: don't watch that.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I'm sure this year pretty cool? All right, we'll see
- 36:26Speaker 1: thirty minutes yet. I got you for that, sir. You

- 38:49Speaker 1: Talk with Jim Edmonds.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Jim won the two thousand and six World Series to
- 38:51Speaker 4: the Cardinals is a color analyst for the Cardinals TV
- 38:57Speaker 4: broadcast gold Glove.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Dude's awesome.
- 39:00Speaker 4: He's working on a project and released a new helmet
- 39:02Speaker 4: called light Helmets, and we asked him about the project
- 39:05Speaker 4: and so he hopped on to talk with us. You
- 39:06Speaker 4: can follow him on Instagram at Jim Edmunds fifteen and
- 39:09Speaker 4: here he is Jim Edmunds.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Were you a good football player? Were you like all
- 39:13Speaker 1: around athlete?
- 39:14Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 39:15Speaker 2: I played a lot of soccer, football and baseball.
- 39:18Speaker 1: What posion did you play?
- 39:19Speaker 3: Football?
- 39:20Speaker 7: Quarterback?
- 39:21Speaker 2: I played a little bit of free safety when we
- 39:23Speaker 2: had a lead that I didn't have to play quarterback,
- 39:26Speaker 2: and then I kicked off, I punted, I kicked field goals.
- 39:30Speaker 4: So you were just the best athlete that just put
- 39:32Speaker 4: you everywhere that had the ball.
- 39:33Speaker 2: I mean, you know what growing up playing soccer and stuff.
- 39:35Speaker 2: It helped a lot with kicking, and then yeah, I
- 39:38Speaker 2: played a little bit of basketball. I wasn't a fan
- 39:40Speaker 2: of basketball. You know what was really funny is to me,
- 39:43Speaker 2: one of my littlest one is like six, he plays
- 39:44Speaker 2: a little bit of basketball, but seems super fast. When
- 39:47Speaker 2: I was a kid, like, you get the ball and
- 39:49Speaker 2: everyone's in your face, and it was I don't know why.
- 39:52Speaker 2: You can create more space during soccer, So I kind
- 39:54Speaker 2: of just stayed with soccer and football and baseball.
- 39:57Speaker 1: I guess basketball fast. I just feel like you're faster.
- 40:03Speaker 4: I just feel like you're like that was you, You
- 40:05Speaker 4: were that dude.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I think I never played it growing up, really, so
- 40:09Speaker 2: when I tried to play it, it just, you know,
- 40:11Speaker 2: the game was super fast, and it's not like you
- 40:13Speaker 2: have a big learning curve in basketball. It's like they're
- 40:16Speaker 2: on you in a hurry. So I don't know, I
- 40:18Speaker 2: just I like the sport as I got older. But
- 40:20Speaker 2: when I tried to play when I was younger, I
- 40:21Speaker 2: was plus. I played soccer, indoor soccer football, and I
- 40:25Speaker 2: was falling out all the time.
- 40:27Speaker 4: It's almost February, so baseball about to kick up. Pictures, catchers,
- 40:32Speaker 4: everybody slowly gets back in the mix. Is this the
- 40:35Speaker 4: time of year that most of the guys look forward
- 40:37Speaker 4: to or is this the time you were like, oh God,
- 40:39Speaker 4: here we go again.
- 40:40Speaker 2: No, I think you know, the further you get into,
- 40:42Speaker 2: like now January, you're like, let's get started. You know,
- 40:46Speaker 2: you're tired of working out at home. I used to
- 40:49Speaker 2: leave early every year. We you know what's spring training
- 40:51Speaker 2: starts later and later. I think it starts later than
- 40:55Speaker 2: it used to. I remember it starting in the first
- 40:58Speaker 2: or second week of February, and now usually it's like
- 41:01Speaker 2: Valentine's Day, right, It's almost like they do it on purpose.
- 41:03Speaker 7: But I used to go, like.
- 41:06Speaker 2: February first, Arizona when I was with the Angels, just
- 41:10Speaker 2: because of the weather it was warmer. A lot of
- 41:12Speaker 2: guys would go early, get a good workout on the field.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Coaches were there, and I just you know, it's like
- 41:18Speaker 2: after you work out at home, you know, it's like
- 41:20Speaker 2: enough practice.
- 41:21Speaker 7: I want to get out on the field and start
- 41:23Speaker 7: to get after it.
- 41:24Speaker 4: How do you feel about one hundred and sixty two
- 41:25Speaker 4: games in possibly lowering total games.
- 41:31Speaker 7: I don't think.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I mean one hundred and sixty two is a lot.
- 41:34Speaker 2: I think that one hundred and forty five is a lot.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I think the minor league schedule is in the one
- 41:38Speaker 2: hundred and forty something range, and that was the old
- 41:41Speaker 2: school number, so I think that that's still a lot.
- 41:45Speaker 2: But you know, you don't have the window that you
- 41:48Speaker 2: have in other sports because you have to play in
- 41:50Speaker 2: the good weather, so you know, football and all the
- 41:53Speaker 2: other sports that are inside, you can kind of get
- 41:55Speaker 2: a little bit of a break, but you don't want
- 41:57Speaker 2: to play in the cold, and you know, that's as
- 41:59Speaker 2: far you can stretch it.
- 42:01Speaker 4: It's so hard to stay invested as listen as a
- 42:04Speaker 4: baseball fan and you as a as a former player.
- 42:07Speaker 4: It's but it's so hard to stay invested for one
- 42:09Speaker 4: sixty two because it's just so where it's easy for
- 42:14Speaker 4: me to stay invested in the NFL. It's a bit
- 42:16Speaker 4: easier for me to stay invested in NBA, although they're
- 42:18Speaker 4: playing almost one hundred games, so you know.
- 42:21Speaker 7: That eighty now too.
- 42:22Speaker 4: Yeah, so that definitely is up there, but they're you know,
- 42:24Speaker 4: playing a couple of nights a week. But the one
- 42:26Speaker 4: sixty two, it just seems like it's so difficult for
- 42:28Speaker 4: me to stay constantly involved, even as more than just
- 42:32Speaker 4: a moderate fan. And I think that's probably what's the
- 42:35Speaker 4: separation in American sports and why baseball has kind of
- 42:38Speaker 4: taken a slight back seat to football and basketball.
- 42:40Speaker 3: What do you think about that?
- 42:41Speaker 7: I think you're right.
- 42:42Speaker 2: I think it's even harder on the players to stay
- 42:44Speaker 2: focused for the whole. Uh, you know, six months, you're
- 42:47Speaker 2: talking about one hundred and sixty two games and one
- 42:51Speaker 2: hundred and eighty days, so you're basically, you know, if
- 42:54Speaker 2: you're getting two days off a month. I think the
- 42:56Speaker 2: schedule is a little bit better now, but back when
- 42:58Speaker 2: I played, if you're getting two days off of month,
- 43:00Speaker 2: that's a lot. Sometimes you go six weeks or five
- 43:02Speaker 2: weeks about a schedule a break, and if you do,
- 43:05Speaker 2: those are sometimes traveling across the country and the plane
- 43:08Speaker 2: for four or five hours, so that's not much of
- 43:10Speaker 2: a break. And uh yeah, I actually you're the first
- 43:13Speaker 2: person that has ever said that, And it makes a
- 43:15Speaker 2: lot of sense because you know what you're talking about
- 43:18Speaker 2: with sports. I you know, follow you on Instagram and
- 43:20Speaker 2: obviously listen to your show, and you do get around
- 43:23Speaker 2: and you see all the different things, and you put
- 43:25Speaker 2: yourself out there with going to different colleges and stuff.
- 43:28Speaker 2: But that makes a lot of sense. It is hard
- 43:29Speaker 2: to stay invested. You have to be a die hard
- 43:32Speaker 2: man to watch half of the games, I would think,
- 43:35Speaker 2: And I always find it interesting if I don't pay
- 43:37Speaker 2: attention for a couple of days, I'm like, Wow, how
- 43:40Speaker 2: did they get from LA to Chicago, Washington, d C.
- 43:44Speaker 7: In the last four days? Like what just happened? Right?
- 43:46Speaker 7: It's definitely different.
- 43:47Speaker 4: You have a Falcon's helmet behind you. I think, are
- 43:50Speaker 4: you a Falcons fan?
- 43:52Speaker 2: No, that's a prototype actually of the company that I
- 43:55Speaker 2: bought a few years ago.
- 43:57Speaker 4: I saw that on your Instagram with so what are
- 43:59Speaker 4: you Because you're trying to make helmets safer?
- 44:01Speaker 3: You are making helmet safer. What exactly are you doing?
- 44:03Speaker 7: Well?
- 44:04Speaker 2: I bought a company that was started by Bill Simpson.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Bill Simpson's one of the guys. He was one of
- 44:09Speaker 2: the race pioneers for auto racing. He's responsible for over
- 44:13Speaker 2: two hundred safety devices and barriers and things around the
- 44:18Speaker 2: car and the helmet and all of the auto racing.
- 44:21Speaker 2: And he started this company with the idea of making
- 44:25Speaker 2: race helmets, and then he tried to go into football.
- 44:28Speaker 2: I don't think he really kind of had the angle
- 44:31Speaker 2: to get into football, so he hit and a friend
- 44:33Speaker 2: of mine that raced knew each other, and then about
- 44:36Speaker 2: five of us got together and bought the company from him,
- 44:39Speaker 2: I think in nineteen And as soon as we started
- 44:41Speaker 2: to turn it around, we hit COVID, so we kind
- 44:44Speaker 2: of took a back seat for a while. And then
- 44:47Speaker 2: after COVID we started ramping up a little bit. And
- 44:51Speaker 2: now what we have is a finished product, and now
- 44:53Speaker 2: we have all of our safety ratings from Virginia Tech.
- 44:57Speaker 2: We got five star safety ratings as the high as
- 44:59Speaker 2: you can get in Virginia Tech is the most important
- 45:02Speaker 2: safety system and all of the NFL, all of high
- 45:06Speaker 2: school everything, and then the NFL.
- 45:10Speaker 7: Now we're in.
- 45:10Speaker 2: We're actually in eighteen locker rooms as of this week.
- 45:14Speaker 2: That means that we're there. We got in a little
- 45:16Speaker 2: late this last year, so guys had the option of
- 45:18Speaker 2: trying it, but it's hard to get people to switch
- 45:21Speaker 2: over in the middle of a year. So next year
- 45:23Speaker 2: it'll be an option in pretty much almost every locker
- 45:25Speaker 2: room in the NFL. And now I'm just trying to
- 45:27Speaker 2: get people aware of it because I think it's actually
- 45:30Speaker 2: more of a safety device for the younger kids and
- 45:34Speaker 2: for the high school kids, because what we did is
- 45:36Speaker 2: basically just same helmet as everyone else has, but it's
- 45:40Speaker 2: lighter and you can see on the inside here this
- 45:43Speaker 2: is the stuff that they use in racing helmets. It's
- 45:46Speaker 2: a beaded concoction basically. And so this helmet, for example, Bobby,
- 45:54Speaker 2: is a kid's helmet.
- 45:56Speaker 7: It's three pounds.
- 45:59Speaker 1: It's that light.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Yeah, every other.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Kid's helmet out there right now weighs from five to
- 46:03Speaker 2: six pounds. So imagine if you had a seven eight
- 46:06Speaker 2: year old son, ten year old son and he had
- 46:09Speaker 2: a six pound, five pound helmet on, and then he
- 46:11Speaker 2: gave him a three pound helmet on, how much of
- 46:13Speaker 2: an advantage you would have. Not to mention, this is
- 46:16Speaker 2: just as safe, if not safer, as this stuff is
- 46:18Speaker 2: made out of composite. One of it's made out of
- 46:21Speaker 2: a composite, one is made out of polly, and then
- 46:25Speaker 2: the NFL helmets are actually made out of nylon. But
- 46:27Speaker 2: it's some of the stuff we got from the military.
- 46:30Speaker 2: It's the stuff they're making all their helmets out of now.
- 46:33Speaker 2: But a lot of the kids get a lot of
- 46:37Speaker 2: concussions and whiplash because their heads are so light and
- 46:40Speaker 2: so small, and their shoulder paths are so big that
- 46:43Speaker 2: they get a lot of head whip and that creates
- 46:45Speaker 2: a lot of damage for the younger kids and including
- 46:47Speaker 2: the high school kids too. NFL not so much, but
- 46:52Speaker 2: we made a safer helmet for them too. And our
- 46:54Speaker 2: helmet in the NFL right now is on the heavy side.
- 46:56Speaker 2: It's four pounds. Most NFL helmets are five and a
- 46:59Speaker 2: half six pounds, six point two pounds. So we're just
- 47:02Speaker 2: trying to, you know, really try to.
- 47:06Speaker 7: Reduce concussions right now.
- 47:07Speaker 2: And that's something I played with, something I've had since
- 47:09Speaker 2: high school playing football, something I got in playing baseball,
- 47:13Speaker 2: and I just kind of took a huge interest in
- 47:15Speaker 2: it and I love it now and I'm kind of
- 47:17Speaker 2: obsessed with it.
- 47:17Speaker 7: It's kind of my life right now.
- 47:19Speaker 4: So if like parents are listening to this obviously and
- 47:21Speaker 4: their kids play like Pop Warner or just youth football,
- 47:25Speaker 4: can you buy your helmet from a place like can
- 47:27Speaker 4: you just go and order one and then have it
- 47:29Speaker 4: made to whatever the team is.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you will do all the painting and stuff. But
- 47:34Speaker 2: you can get them at Dicks. You can get them
- 47:35Speaker 2: at a couple of like a couple of different places,
- 47:38Speaker 2: but to be honest with you, going on our website
- 47:41Speaker 2: at light helmets dot com and they will walk you
- 47:44Speaker 2: through everything and they'll show you how to measure that
- 47:47Speaker 2: you'll they'll get you the choices of colors. They'll paint
- 47:50Speaker 2: everything for you for all one price. If you go
- 47:53Speaker 2: on my Instagram, I have a code in my bio
- 47:58Speaker 2: that gives you fifteen percent off and it will give
- 48:00Speaker 2: all the links and all the advertisement to light Helmet.
- 48:03Speaker 2: But I would suggest any any parent that has a
- 48:06Speaker 2: young child that plays football to go just look at
- 48:09Speaker 2: the website and see what the advantages are, see what
- 48:12Speaker 2: the press clippings are, what all the safety ratings are now,
- 48:16Speaker 2: and just check it out and do some research. Because
- 48:19Speaker 2: it was interesting. I was talking to someone and everyone's back,
- 48:22Speaker 2: you know, goes back and says, well, we're happy with
- 48:24Speaker 2: the good old fashioned, you know helmets that we you know,
- 48:28Speaker 2: that we know about, and I said, well, cars are
- 48:30Speaker 2: changing too, you know, cars are getting lighter, faster and safer. Well,
- 48:34Speaker 2: now helmets are getting lighter and safer, and we're going
- 48:37Speaker 2: to be the reason behind it.
- 48:39Speaker 4: When you were playing ball, did you have the double
- 48:41Speaker 4: ears or single you know, because some of the guys
- 48:45Speaker 4: will make so if they such as they switch hit,
- 48:47Speaker 4: they'd have both sides covered.
- 48:48Speaker 1: What was your baseball helmet? What was your preference?
- 48:51Speaker 2: Then you had to wear a double ear flap until
- 48:54Speaker 2: you got to the big leagues and that was it.
- 48:56Speaker 7: So always the double ear flap.
- 48:57Speaker 2: So you get to the big leagues and then the
- 48:59Speaker 2: first time you got a big league camp, it feels
- 49:01Speaker 2: a little weird. But to go back to a double
- 49:03Speaker 2: ear flap, that just I can think of a few
- 49:06Speaker 2: guys that wear them, but kind of like one of
- 49:08Speaker 2: my friends and one of the guys I can remember
- 49:10Speaker 2: the most, Shane Victorino, was one of the guys that
- 49:12Speaker 2: wore the double double ear flap because he was a
- 49:15Speaker 2: switch hitter and he looked like he had a big
- 49:18Speaker 2: ten gallon half.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Yeah it looks huge.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it looks like, Oh, Steve Tasker, he used to
- 49:21Speaker 4: play from Buffalo, he had like the two layers of
- 49:23Speaker 4: helmets on.
- 49:24Speaker 1: That's what that's kind of what it looked like.
- 49:26Speaker 2: He concussions, too many concussions.
- 49:28Speaker 7: He needed a better helmet.
- 49:29Speaker 2: But you know, a lot of these other companies, it's
- 49:31Speaker 2: interesting to see and I hate, I don't like to
- 49:33Speaker 2: talk down about this, but it was due. You know,
- 49:36Speaker 2: we get all of the concussion reports now that we're
- 49:38Speaker 2: involved in the NFLPA and and all this other information
- 49:42Speaker 2: that I I'm truly fascinated by because if you look
- 49:46Speaker 2: into and by the way, the concussions have gone up
- 49:49Speaker 2: twenty percent in the NFL this year, so it's still
- 49:52Speaker 2: an ongoing problem. And that's kind of why I took
- 49:55Speaker 2: to a liking of this. I think it's as much
- 49:57Speaker 2: important at the NFL level, but I think the the
- 50:00Speaker 2: children's level is you know this, there's a governing body
- 50:04Speaker 2: that is in control of all of the fourteen years
- 50:07Speaker 2: and under pop Warner leagues and stuff, and they're actually
- 50:11Speaker 2: going to mandate in twenty twenty five that helmets are
- 50:14Speaker 2: three and a half pounds or lighter. We're the only
- 50:17Speaker 2: company in the world right now that can do that.
- 50:20Speaker 2: So these other companies are going to have to catch
- 50:21Speaker 2: up to us in order to be able to get
- 50:24Speaker 2: down to that level. I expect them to try to
- 50:27Speaker 2: bargain and push that back, but we're ready for it.
- 50:31Speaker 2: And right now, if I had a kid, and if
- 50:33Speaker 2: I all of my friends right now, their kids are
- 50:35Speaker 2: starting to wear these and if I had a child
- 50:37Speaker 2: playing football at that age, I would one hundred percent
- 50:40Speaker 2: have him wear this.
- 50:41Speaker 7: Just the difference in the two pounds is night and day.
- 50:44Speaker 4: Can I get the single bar punter look for? Like
- 50:47Speaker 4: just a helmet with a single bar. I could wear
- 50:50Speaker 4: it while doing the show.
- 50:51Speaker 7: You know, you can wear this one.
- 50:53Speaker 1: It's not too bad that face mask a little too much.
- 50:55Speaker 4: I'm talking about one bar, like nineteen seventy Hunter, Like,
- 50:59Speaker 4: you know, nothing's going to get in my face. That's
- 51:02Speaker 4: because I got to have it to talk and do
- 51:03Speaker 4: the show.
- 51:04Speaker 7: You know had that one bar?
- 51:07Speaker 1: Yeah, same deal. I don't think you had the punt smaller.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:11Speaker 2: I think I had one bar back in the day,
- 51:13Speaker 2: like just enough to keep it from flying off his head.
- 51:17Speaker 2: You know it's I had a conversation. There's a kid
- 51:19Speaker 2: that plays for Detroit. His name is Jack Fox. He's
- 51:22Speaker 2: from here in Saint Louis, and I texted him the
- 51:25Speaker 2: other day and I said, Hey, bad timing and all,
- 51:27Speaker 2: but just wanted to give your heads up when you
- 51:29Speaker 2: get home, I want to talk to you about this helmet.
- 51:31Speaker 7: And he kind of asked me a couple of questions.
- 51:32Speaker 2: He said, you know, all the skill position guys are
- 51:34Speaker 2: always asking every day.
- 51:36Speaker 7: How do we get a lighter helmet.
- 51:37Speaker 2: So it's going to be interesting to see what happens
- 51:39Speaker 2: when we get a full year under our belt in
- 51:41Speaker 2: the NFL and we get the word out. So I
- 51:44Speaker 2: appreciate you having me on because I think this thing
- 51:46Speaker 2: is really important.
- 51:47Speaker 4: I picture at Virginia Tech when they're doing these tests
- 51:50Speaker 4: to see how safe they are, Like the old crash
- 51:53Speaker 4: test dummies would put them in cars and crash them
- 51:54Speaker 4: into walls.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Like what do they do?
- 51:56Speaker 4: They put it like on a on it like a
- 51:58Speaker 4: boxing bag and slam it into stuff.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they do it just like that. But the opposite
- 52:02Speaker 2: they put the helmet on, say like a phony head
- 52:05Speaker 2: with a little you know, like a little wiggle thing,
- 52:08Speaker 2: and they bring in battering rams and basically hit it
- 52:12Speaker 2: and then test what the impact strike is, like how
- 52:16Speaker 2: much the head moves.
- 52:18Speaker 7: It was very interesting.
- 52:19Speaker 2: At one point I think that they told us that
- 52:21Speaker 2: our helmet is as safe as you can get, but
- 52:23Speaker 2: it's a little too light. Because what happened was when
- 52:26Speaker 2: the battering ram was hitting the helmet, it was moving
- 52:29Speaker 2: more because the helmet was light. But then our CEO
- 52:33Speaker 2: was like, okay, well, then put a head in there
- 52:35Speaker 2: and it won't move as much and you're now safer.
- 52:38Speaker 2: So there's all kinds of things that people try to do.
- 52:41Speaker 2: It's especially when you're the new guy on the block.
- 52:43Speaker 2: But we'll stand by it. We had all entire high
- 52:46Speaker 2: school in California switch to our helmets in one year.
- 52:51Speaker 2: In twenty twenty two, they had seventeen concussions as a school.
- 52:55Speaker 2: In twenty twenty three, they had two. So we're pretty
- 52:58Speaker 2: happy with that result. And those are the only two
- 53:01Speaker 2: concussions that we've had reported to our company since we started.
- 53:05Speaker 7: So I think that's like a big deal. I really do.
- 53:07Speaker 7: I'm really into safety for kids. I have kids, and.
- 53:11Speaker 2: That's what kind of drew me to this situation, so
- 53:14Speaker 2: I'm pretty excited about it. I just hope that we
- 53:16Speaker 2: can get some traction next year in the NFL and
- 53:18Speaker 2: then get the word out.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Like I said, light Helmets dot com, LAGHT light helmets
- 53:23Speaker 4: dot com. If you're a parent or an NFL player,
- 53:26Speaker 4: probably more parents listening to the NFL players A couple NFL.
- 53:29Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know. You got a pretty good rating.
- 53:31Speaker 7: I think most more people listening than you.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Think, mostly parents. Baker Mayfield listens, big big Baker, Big Baker,
- 53:37Speaker 4: big Baker guys here.
- 53:38Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, big Field fan. It's a good player. Hey.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Are you back on the on the broadcast team begin
- 53:42Speaker 3: this year?
- 53:43Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 53:44Speaker 2: You look at all that date's exactly, but yeah, I'll
- 53:46Speaker 2: probably do anywhere between fifty and sixty games this year
- 53:49Speaker 2: with the Cardinals travel a little bit. I had a
- 53:52Speaker 2: little accident, so I might have to have knee surgery
- 53:54Speaker 2: here in the next couple of weeks. But other than that,
- 53:56Speaker 2: good to go, and I'm excited for baseball. I think
- 53:58Speaker 2: there's no way that this Cardinal team can be as
- 54:01Speaker 2: bad as last year. So we're pretty excited around here
- 54:04Speaker 2: because they're going to be good again, I think this year.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Let me ask you self this question, then, Craig Counsel,
- 54:10Speaker 4: did you play with them? Do you know him from
- 54:12Speaker 4: playing it back in the day, and what do you
- 54:14Speaker 4: think is going to do with that Cup franchise, that
- 54:15Speaker 4: Cup team?
- 54:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I played with him. I played against them for
- 54:19Speaker 2: our basically our whole career and talked. I talked to him,
- 54:22Speaker 2: you know, when he was managing. I thought it was
- 54:24Speaker 2: an interesting situation, the whole deal. I thought that you
- 54:27Speaker 2: know what they had before was doing great. I thought
- 54:29Speaker 2: Craig was very happy and in Milwaukee. He lives in Milwaukee.
- 54:34Speaker 2: I'm actually shocked that he went to Chicago. But then
- 54:39Speaker 2: I loved what he said was, you know, he's doing
- 54:42Speaker 2: it for everyone. He's kind of now a trend center
- 54:44Speaker 2: to get the manager's war money, which I think is
- 54:46Speaker 2: a great deal that he kind of put it on
- 54:48Speaker 2: everyone and not just himself. But I think he's a
- 54:50Speaker 2: good manager. I think everyone loves him. I think he's
- 54:53Speaker 2: no nonsense. He's very mild. You see him when you
- 54:57Speaker 2: watch TV. He's just kind of very humble in the dugout,
- 55:00Speaker 2: doesn't really get too riled up, and when he does,
- 55:02Speaker 2: he's striking to the point. I think he's going to
- 55:05Speaker 2: do a good job of the Cubs. If they're going
- 55:07Speaker 2: to spend money and go after players, then he's going
- 55:10Speaker 2: to be better sooner. But if he's going to have
- 55:12Speaker 2: to develop, what's going to take him a few years.
- 55:14Speaker 3: Does the manager have the same just control as the
- 55:20Speaker 3: manager did ten years ago, meaning isn't so much of analytics.
- 55:24Speaker 2: I think it's going back to baseball. I think the
- 55:28Speaker 2: analytics have now been proven that it's almost too much
- 55:31Speaker 2: information and the information that they are consumed with is
- 55:35Speaker 2: the wrong information. You know, you got you know, the
- 55:38Speaker 2: whole launch and the whole bat speed and the launch
- 55:42Speaker 2: angle and all that. That's great, right, that is going
- 55:45Speaker 2: to create home runs. But you can't take Craig Council,
- 55:49Speaker 2: so to speak. You remember that batting sense that he
- 55:51Speaker 2: had with the way up here. You can't go and
- 55:54Speaker 2: teach him to try to hit home runs. You still
- 55:56Speaker 2: have to tab players and their individual personalities and robots,
- 56:00Speaker 2: you know, and everybody can't be a radio announcer. Everybody
- 56:04Speaker 2: can't be a baseball player. And if you are that person,
- 56:06Speaker 2: you got to be yourself. And so I think they're
- 56:08Speaker 2: starting to throw away the analytics and just take bits
- 56:11Speaker 2: and pieces of what's really important as far as how
- 56:14Speaker 2: to get players better and get away from we all
- 56:17Speaker 2: need to do it this way.
- 56:19Speaker 3: That means I got a chance. If analytics are gone,
- 56:21Speaker 3: I still got.
- 56:22Speaker 7: You got a chance. I don't know. I've seen you
- 56:23Speaker 7: play basketball lately. Football.
- 56:26Speaker 1: You only see the greatest hits though light helmets dot com.
- 56:30Speaker 7: If you're putting yourself out there.
- 56:31Speaker 1: L I g h T.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Light Helmets dot com. Jim Edman, Jim going to talk to.
- 56:34Speaker 4: You, buddy, hope to hope to talk to you can
- 56:36Speaker 4: real sooner. Congratulations on the company starting to really expand.
- 56:40Speaker 7: I appreciate it.
- 56:40Speaker 2: Thanks for having me again, and uh, like I said,
- 56:43Speaker 2: big fan, can't wait to hear you tomorrow.
- 56:44Speaker 3: All right, Jim c buddy, all.
- 56:50Speaker 7: Right, we're back.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Before we end, I'm gonna ask him to see his face. Dude,
- 56:53Speaker 1: that's creepy, and I'm gonna ask him to see us.
- 56:58Speaker 3: So well.
- 57:05Speaker 4: Three doors down, Yeah, I like it.
- 57:08Speaker 1: It's not so what's on the screen there? They look
- 57:10Speaker 1: like baseball cards. That's some kind of box that he
- 57:13Speaker 1: would open a break, but I'm not sure which one
- 57:14Speaker 1: that is. It's football player dude, O, well, I know, yeah,
- 57:19Speaker 1: what's up man? Yeah, producer, ready.
- 57:22Speaker 4: You say that it's up baby, Walter pay right, we
- 57:27Speaker 4: just play Walter Paton Jersey. All right, Well, you want
- 57:31Speaker 4: to do the end of the show now, and then
- 57:33Speaker 4: we'll just come back whenever they finally break it.
- 57:35Speaker 1: Yeah, if they ever.
- 57:38Speaker 9: Already said alrighty, I can't guarantee it's it's a blind
- 57:48Speaker 9: a blind break, so.
- 57:51Speaker 7: You don't know what's in these boxes.
- 57:54Speaker 10: They come sealed.
- 57:57Speaker 7: And I don't open until uh.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Just do what they tell me. Is that true though?
- 58:05Speaker 1: I just watch them cut them. But I mean I'm
- 58:07Speaker 1: sure you can. I mean you can buy a sealer. Yeah.
- 58:10Speaker 4: I think they stopped sending them to you though, if
- 58:12Speaker 4: they found out your cheat. All right, okay, into the show.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I just want to say, you gotta be the man,
- 58:18Speaker 3: you gotta beat the man.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good, man, go cheat.
- 58:20Speaker 4: Might as well say that hopefully next time we do
