- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:16Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett. As a man, all I've been
- 0:20Speaker 2: doing well. Let me get through the whole intro. Okay,
- 0:23Speaker 2: So five O two three eight four fourteen fifty. You
- 0:25Speaker 2: want to call in five O two four to one
- 0:27Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty, you want to text in on the
- 0:29Speaker 2: Whiskey Thief text line, or you can tweet me at
- 0:33Speaker 2: Just the Cat Radio. I don't say X. I don't
- 0:36Speaker 2: know why it's still Twitter to me? Are you the same?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Good morning justin? By the way, I don't let me
- 0:41Speaker 2: say good morning to you before I get into anything.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Do you say Twitter? Still? Are you all about the
- 0:46Speaker 1: X very much? Does we work at the Big X?
- 0:49Speaker 1: That's true. Yeah, we don't work at the Big Twitter.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So for a real company, man, yeah, we should be
- 0:54Speaker 1: saying it. We should promote X.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah, because then it makes everybody feel like, uh, the
- 0:58Speaker 2: Big X is all about the H and we own
- 1:01Speaker 2: the X and we control the X.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But no, to answer your question, I'm very much still Twitter.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm just too habitual for that. I am too. I
- 1:08Speaker 1: can't once I learned something I can't learn to call
- 1:11Speaker 1: it something else.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah, well I'll tell you right now. And by the way,
- 1:16Speaker 2: if you want to join us, we're on YouTube. You
- 1:18Speaker 2: can see us at Big Big X Sports Radio Louisville
- 1:23Speaker 2: and you'll see one good looking guy and another guy
- 1:26Speaker 2: with a hat on. So but I am all about
- 1:31Speaker 2: the X, but not on Twitter. Like Oscar Combs tweeted
- 1:40Speaker 2: out a couple of days ago about the football stadium UK.
- 1:45Speaker 2: What do you call the football stadium at Kentucky Carogerfield?
- 1:50Speaker 1: See you do.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I still call it Commonwealth Stadium. I'm never going to
- 1:56Speaker 2: acknowledge it as a grocery store. I'm just not going
- 1:59Speaker 2: to It will forever be Commonwealth Stadium, just like you've
- 2:03Speaker 2: heard me talk about this. Just like they very easily
- 2:06Speaker 2: could have said, uh, Kroger Field at Commonwealth Stadium. I
- 2:11Speaker 2: don't know why they didn't, because you know, the day's
- 2:13Speaker 2: going to come when Reperina becomes something completely else. Even
- 2:16Speaker 2: though it today Central Bank at Reperina or whatever they
- 2:20Speaker 2: call it, but it's still Reperina. You still associate it
- 2:24Speaker 2: with Reperina. I will never associate Commonwealth Stadium with Krogerfield.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I just won't.
- 2:30Speaker 2: But they could have very easily kept both names, but
- 2:33Speaker 2: I and I would love to know why they didn't,
- 2:36Speaker 2: why they just wanted totally dump on it. That's why
- 2:38Speaker 2: I'm probably so adamant that I'm going to continue to
- 2:41Speaker 2: call it CommonWell Stadium.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Well, I mean that's also what you've always called it is.
- 2:46Speaker 1: All my life, it's been Commonwealth Stadium, So why it
- 2:49Speaker 1: changed now? I'm not going to But here's my issue
- 2:51Speaker 1: with the whole Twitter thing. Yes, if we changed to
- 2:55Speaker 1: calling it X, right, then why are they still called?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Ah see? That shouldn't tweets be labeled differently as well? Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 1: I can't call it triple X, but you can. Well yeah,
- 3:09Speaker 1: but I don't think I have you ever been to
- 3:11Speaker 1: your fur u section on Twitter, to the what section
- 3:14Speaker 1: on Twitter?
- 3:14Speaker 3: Or you?
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah? Why I'm just goes down dark paths? Does it
- 3:18Speaker 1: really does U? I honestly, I don't know where mine
- 3:23Speaker 1: goes as far as that. I mean, I'll see like
- 3:25Speaker 1: a few posts from people that I follow or people
- 3:28Speaker 1: that I have followed in the past talking about sports,
- 3:31Speaker 1: but then yeah, we we go dark pretty quick. When
- 3:34Speaker 1: I'm for you, I am looking right here.
- 3:36Speaker 2: It goes to uh a UK media member, another UK
- 3:41Speaker 2: media member Corey Price, another UK media member, and then
- 3:46Speaker 2: it starts talking about uh, just rock content, which I've
- 3:50Speaker 2: never heard of in another.
- 3:54Speaker 1: National temp. That's what it's called content.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Ohkay, yeah, well whatever, I'm content to just read it
- 4:00Speaker 2: the way I want to and go without being made
- 4:02Speaker 2: fun of. But anyway, but then it goes to I
- 4:05Speaker 2: mean it's mostly UK stuff for me. There's a Tampa
- 4:09Speaker 2: Bay Times saying baseball history nut and then here it
- 4:13Speaker 2: is the video of Chris Berman. My Twitter is now
- 4:17Speaker 2: listening to us.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Okay, I'm telling you, wait till he pulls his pants up.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's the funniest thing ever.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Did Chris Berman have ass removal surgery? And you're right,
- 4:29Speaker 2: but he pulls his pants up, But it's like he
- 4:32Speaker 2: pulls it up just not even a quarter of an inch.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I wouldn't even say a sixteenth of an inch. It's like, dude,
- 4:38Speaker 1: pull it up.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He almost looks like, you know how some of the
- 4:41Speaker 2: guys today are wearing their pants an unusual way where
- 4:46Speaker 2: it's really low and they show their boxers. That's what
- 4:50Speaker 2: I see here. It's like Chris is trying to be
- 4:53Speaker 2: a man of the young men, okay, of a certain race.
- 4:57Speaker 2: But anyway, it's just it's all right, it's fascinating. I
- 5:01Speaker 2: had to look this up. Okay, all right, here's what
- 5:06Speaker 2: it said. It's called dormant butt syndrome. Wait, this is actual.
- 5:14Speaker 2: This is under I look this up under Google. Prolonged
- 5:18Speaker 2: sitting shuts off the gluteal muscles, causing them to weaken
- 5:22Speaker 2: and flatten over time, a condition also known as gluteal amnesia.
- 5:28Speaker 1: How do you like that? What are you doing now?
- 5:31Speaker 1: I'll be doing radio standing? Oh there you go. You're
- 5:33Speaker 1: gonna stand up. You don't want to have the no
- 5:36Speaker 1: butts in? I don't know that. There's the daylights out
- 5:39Speaker 1: of me.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Also called the pelvic tilt, a posteriorly tilted or tucked
- 5:43Speaker 2: pelvis flattens the natural lore back curve, keeping the glute
- 5:47Speaker 2: muscles in a constantly shortened and tight position that prevents
- 5:52Speaker 2: outward projection. So how do we prevent that? You gotta
- 5:56Speaker 2: stand up? Can I tell you what I think part
- 5:59Speaker 2: of it is? You have to have posture. Can I
- 6:02Speaker 2: just flex my Gluteess you think that would help you? No,
- 6:04Speaker 2: you have to have posta. In other words, you gotta
- 6:06Speaker 2: sit up. I don't have good posture now, I tried
- 6:09Speaker 2: to once. If I if I sit hunchback for over
- 6:13Speaker 2: a long period, my back starts hitting. So I need
- 6:16Speaker 2: to I need to sit up, and I find myself
- 6:19Speaker 2: sitting up a lot more.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna get to be like seventy five, and I'll
- 6:22Speaker 1: be touching my toes. You'll be touching your toe. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: already know that I'm gonna be one hunchback. Oh really,
- 6:30Speaker 1: old man.
- 6:31Speaker 2: That's why that's why a lot of people claim, you know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: just like when Colton Price said he does a lot
- 6:36Speaker 2: of yoga with the offensive line. That's supposed to help
- 6:40Speaker 2: you from that standpoint. So if you want to go
- 6:42Speaker 2: do some yoga, get the microphone down there on the
- 6:44Speaker 2: floor and you do some yoga posts to do that
- 6:47Speaker 2: little Dan word dog and whatever all that stuff is.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I just, I mean whatever, Lets the farts come out
- 6:53Speaker 2: at least one stretch. I do know one stretch, and
- 6:55Speaker 2: I don't like any of them, okay, because it all
- 6:59Speaker 2: goes back to I couldn't see them all the way
- 7:01Speaker 2: at the back of a class. All these real young
- 7:05Speaker 2: pretty girls are probably thinking I'm looking at them in
- 7:09Speaker 2: an inappropriate way, and it's like, no, I'm trying and
- 7:12Speaker 2: I told the girl one time. I told the girl
- 7:14Speaker 2: in the class. I said, I apologize, I promise, I'm
- 7:16Speaker 2: not staring at you, but I am staring at you
- 7:19Speaker 2: because I can't see the instructor. He goes, It's okay,
- 7:22Speaker 2: I understand she but she did say thank you for
- 7:25Speaker 2: telling me.
- 7:26Speaker 1: There you go. Yeah, so real, gentlemen.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I'm trying to be a gentleman exactly because I just well,
- 7:32Speaker 2: my wife's right there next to me. You want me
- 7:33Speaker 2: staring at the girls? My wife right next to me.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It's like, no on a diet doesn't mean he can't
- 7:38Speaker 2: look at the menu. Oh come on, yes, you listen. Well,
- 7:42Speaker 2: what is it not going to order from the menu.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I'm just checking it out.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Well I might be old, but I'm not dead. That's
- 7:48Speaker 1: another way. Yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Uh my dad always said I'm like a dog chasing
- 7:53Speaker 2: the carp I caught it, I wouldn't know what.
- 7:54Speaker 1: To do with it.
- 7:58Speaker 2: That would always made me laugh right there. But uh yeah, yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 2: uh you would have loved my dad, by the way,
- 8:03Speaker 2: uh man when he was great and my mom.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But uh, anyway, all.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Right, uh so, a lot of stuff going on the
- 8:09Speaker 2: last couple of days, and we're gonna get through as
- 8:12Speaker 2: much of it as we can. Uh, you know it,
- 8:15Speaker 2: Just as soon as I think I don't have enough,
- 8:17Speaker 2: all of a sudden I got.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I got too much stuff to talk about today. So
- 8:21Speaker 1: I'm a little frustrated with mice freaking Kentucky athletics won't
- 8:24Speaker 1: stop postings. Isn't that great to agree? You're just jealous that, No,
- 8:29Speaker 1: I'm just I'm fascinated by it. We literally went from
- 8:33Speaker 1: an athletic program or athletic yeah programs, yes, just didn't
- 8:39Speaker 1: share anything, didn't put anything out here we are and
- 8:42Speaker 1: now it's like every other tweet us see is something
- 8:45Speaker 1: from Kentucky. I love it. I do.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I love it. Is this a coincidence?
- 8:52Speaker 1: No?
- 8:53Speaker 2: No, there is something to this for sure. Yeah, and
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm convinced that you're never gonna be No one will
- 8:59Speaker 2: ever be able to convinced.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I mean.
- 9:02Speaker 2: They were muted and now they're they're open back up.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I can tell you for a fact that athletic department
- 9:10Speaker 2: has changed overnight for the positive, Okay, for the absolute positive.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I love what's going on at UK. I love the
- 9:18Speaker 2: fresh start. And this is not a knocked I promise
- 9:22Speaker 2: not a knock on. Mitch Barnhardt, not whatsoever. Okay, I'm
- 9:26Speaker 2: not gonna knock the guy, but it's kind of nice
- 9:29Speaker 2: to have a fresh start. And I think Jay Bett
- 9:31Speaker 2: coming in here, going out there with will Stein, he's
- 9:34Speaker 2: a man of the people. He wants to get out
- 9:35Speaker 2: there and get to know the fans. And what does
- 9:37Speaker 2: he do on Saturday gives out donuts along with will
- 9:41Speaker 2: Stein all the guys that are getting their tailgate stuff
- 9:43Speaker 2: all set up. I think that's great. He should be
- 9:47Speaker 2: doing this with everything. He should be attending everything that's
- 9:51Speaker 2: available right now because people want to get to know him,
- 9:54Speaker 2: and he wants to get to know the people.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Oh and that's intriguing for the fans as well. And
- 9:58Speaker 1: when you see somebody out in the wild and acting
- 10:01Speaker 1: like out in the wild, acting like a normal person, Yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 1: and you can see that, hey, they're real. There's the
- 10:07Speaker 1: real guy here. That makes it emendearing. There's a new regime.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And I will have to say, if we were going
- 10:16Speaker 1: to give grades out right now, I'd be giving j
- 10:19Speaker 1: Betten a plus right now. I don't know how you
- 10:21Speaker 1: could go anything less. I agree.
- 10:23Speaker 2: So all right, So a couple of things about UK basketball.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I want to talk about number one, and I'll talk
- 10:31Speaker 2: about Mark Pope. He was on the field of sixty eight.
- 10:34Speaker 2: What was that yesterday? I think it was And so
- 10:36Speaker 2: I want to talk about this though as well, so
- 10:40Speaker 2: Mark Pope. UK basketball, there's all kinds of talk of
- 10:44Speaker 2: them getting a fifteenth player. Kentucky is destined to be
- 10:48Speaker 2: a deep team. I just worry they're not deep enough
- 10:51Speaker 2: in one area. But if this happens, I think UK
- 10:55Speaker 2: will be a deep team. And I want to see
- 10:59Speaker 2: what you think. But do you think the six to
- 11:01Speaker 2: eight Missouri power forward Mark Mitchell is going.
- 11:03Speaker 1: To come to UK? No? How can he? Why not?
- 11:07Speaker 1: Because you can't? Was he in the transfer portal? Nope?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Can he come to Kentucky?
- 11:12Speaker 2: But if they change there's a ruling out right now,
- 11:14Speaker 2: and if it changes that ruling, he will be able
- 11:17Speaker 2: to come to Kentucky. And a lot of people saying
- 11:20Speaker 2: that it's going to change that Mark Mitchell will be
- 11:24Speaker 2: playing basketball, and a lot are predicting that he's coming
- 11:29Speaker 2: to UK. He averaged eighteen points a game last season.
- 11:34Speaker 2: If you remember, he had a huge game in the
- 11:36Speaker 2: upset against Kentucky where he scored twenty one points. I mean,
- 11:41Speaker 2: he's very comfortable there.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Clearly, do you worry about the locker room stuff, attitude stuff,
- 11:48Speaker 1: any of that, because from everything I've read, I do
- 11:51Speaker 1: think he would be a decent fit for this team.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I don't know that he would be a perfect fit,
- 11:56Speaker 1: but from everything I've read, it just seems like there's
- 11:59Speaker 1: some hesitancy because of who he is in the locker room.
- 12:02Speaker 1: You are correct, and if that would if that would fly,
- 12:06Speaker 1: because that's the last thing you want, right we had
- 12:08Speaker 1: issues with last year with locker room guys and you
- 12:12Speaker 1: don't want to go through that again. I think you
- 12:14Speaker 1: make that a point. And I think that Mark Pope
- 12:17Speaker 1: is learned.
- 12:20Speaker 2: That was great. English has learned that. Okay, if we
- 12:25Speaker 2: do have someone like that coming in here, I got
- 12:27Speaker 2: to stay ahead of the game, and I think he can.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Because here's the other issue. They say he's worth anywhere
- 12:32Speaker 2: from five to six million. I don't think UK has
- 12:35Speaker 2: a problem getting that money. I just think that you're
- 12:38Speaker 2: gonna spend a lot of money on the sky.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I don't know. Man, Wow, really you've already given mom
- 12:43Speaker 1: Chilovich six million. Yeah, Zoom's one of the top twenty players. Yeah,
- 12:48Speaker 1: paid players in the country. But when we talked about
- 12:51Speaker 1: this before. Where's the biggest concern on this roster right now?
- 12:57Speaker 1: It's the front line. Yeah, you rely on mom chill
- 13:01Speaker 1: of it in in uh Malachi. Well, Milan's not going
- 13:05Speaker 1: to play inside. Rarely does he get inside the perimeter. No,
- 13:09Speaker 1: but there is a lot of unknowns with this team
- 13:11Speaker 1: in regards to the big men. Right, So if you
- 13:14Speaker 1: if you are going out to get a big man,
- 13:16Speaker 1: that to me, that's concerning with with Njai. That's concerning
- 13:20Speaker 1: with Kepnong because you do have size there. But if
- 13:23Speaker 1: you don't believe in those guys and you're going out
- 13:25Speaker 1: and getting another big that tells you all you need
- 13:28Speaker 1: to know about those two trains. That does worry about you. Yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I see exactly. No, Enjai was not a transfer.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Sorry, yeah, but that doesn't that is a little concerning
- 13:35Speaker 2: if we're still looking, it's like, okay, is there an
- 13:38Speaker 2: indication that maybe some of them haven't developed as much
- 13:42Speaker 2: as Mark Pope was hoping. That's my other concern. You're
- 13:45Speaker 2: exactly correct. So I don't know. I don't want to
- 13:48Speaker 2: say too much because you know, uh, September seventeenth is
- 13:51Speaker 2: coming soon, and uh, I don't want to have somebody
- 13:54Speaker 2: out there listening, and then all of a sudden, I'm
- 13:56Speaker 2: getting a question, why do you think I'm not good enough?
- 13:59Speaker 2: That's the other part about when they do this whole
- 14:01Speaker 2: post game of the media, the media madness.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, can you imagine the questions that they'll
- 14:07Speaker 1: be able to ask.
- 14:07Speaker 2: What if they come after certain members? Well, why did
- 14:11Speaker 2: you say this about me? You said I sucked? Yes,
- 14:14Speaker 2: that'd be great. I mean, oh my gosh, who was
- 14:17Speaker 2: the player that you couldn't stand?
- 14:19Speaker 1: Garrison?
- 14:19Speaker 2: Brandon Garrison? What if Brandon Garrison came after you? Brandy
- 14:24Speaker 2: Garrison is what eight foot nine and you're three foot two,
- 14:27Speaker 2: and he looks down at you and just kind of
- 14:29Speaker 2: takes his fist and doesn't he ask a question, just
- 14:32Speaker 2: bumps you on that.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I mean, I'd be like, lookg I we're already getting
- 14:37Speaker 1: real personal. I respect he as a dude, but quite frankly,
- 14:40Speaker 1: you're a lot bigger than me. So I'm gonna choose
- 14:42Speaker 1: to not answer this question. Although that's kind of a
- 14:46Speaker 1: coward way, right, Absolutely, I think you.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I think you were completely honest with him, and maybe
- 14:51Speaker 2: that opens him up and then he becomes a great player.
- 14:54Speaker 1: And gives you all the credit. Justin Taylor. If I
- 14:56Speaker 1: talk all this bleep on radio, I've got to talk
- 14:58Speaker 1: to Hi. You have to listen.
- 15:01Speaker 2: If there's somebody out there, I'm gonna come down hard
- 15:04Speaker 2: on it, and then they confront me on it, and
- 15:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna be very sensible and explain to them why
- 15:09Speaker 2: I believe the way I am. I'm not going to
- 15:11Speaker 2: backtrack it. Clearly you don't mean it. I think when
- 15:16Speaker 2: when somebody confronts you about that and you've talked negative
- 15:19Speaker 2: about them, you continue to.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Talk negative about them. Yeah. I'm not a controversy guy, though,
- 15:25Speaker 1: are you not? Especially?
- 15:27Speaker 2: I think you can do it in the right way.
- 15:30Speaker 2: You don't raise your voice. You just tell them the
- 15:33Speaker 2: facts and that's it. Here is why I believe what
- 15:37Speaker 2: I believe that would be. But I think you can
- 15:39Speaker 2: get better.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'd love to hear have him hear some of my
- 15:42Speaker 1: clips and interview me'd great, really, because I only I
- 15:46Speaker 1: have no idea what he would ask.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't either, but I think the fun part
- 15:54Speaker 2: I would like to have cal come back and ask
- 15:58Speaker 2: me questions because I would like to ask him some questions,
- 16:03Speaker 2: and I think it would.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Be why didn't he shake your hand? Yeah? Why didn't
- 16:08Speaker 1: he give me the look he did? That's true, all right?
- 16:12Speaker 2: When you saw me at Reperna right before the Arkansas
- 16:16Speaker 2: game behind the Arkansas bench, what was the first thing
- 16:20Speaker 2: that ran through your head?
- 16:22Speaker 1: There's Michael Bennett. Yeah. But there's more to it though, Yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 1: I mean he was thinking something. He was, Yeah, and
- 16:30Speaker 1: then you're like, you had a little smirk on your face.
- 16:33Speaker 1: That was that was great. I'll it wasn't intentional, though.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I will never forget that. Oh my gosh. Yeah.
- 16:40Speaker 2: But I just the other part would be why did
- 16:43Speaker 2: you have assistant coaches calling me?
- 16:46Speaker 1: And and why didn't you call me? He ain't got
- 16:48Speaker 1: time for your little Michael Bennett.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You think that's what it is? Yeah, I mean all right.
- 16:54Speaker 2: The other thing I would ask them is why couldn't
- 16:56Speaker 2: I ask some of the questions? Why didn't you like
- 16:58Speaker 2: some of the questions I asked painted him in a
- 17:00Speaker 2: bad light. I didn't think so he thought so, Well,
- 17:06Speaker 2: I guess because of the fact that I was questioning
- 17:08Speaker 2: his coaching and I'm not a coach, so he disrespects
- 17:11Speaker 2: me because the fact that I'm not a coach.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'm just I don't know. I guess so.
- 17:19Speaker 2: But anyway, that's just I'll never find out. But I
- 17:24Speaker 2: wish I could, you know, I probably can find out.
- 17:27Speaker 2: There's somebody I could I call that maybe. Uh I
- 17:32Speaker 2: just I'm curious. I'm just curious.
- 17:34Speaker 1: That's all.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Nothing other than that, all right. Uh So when we
- 17:39Speaker 2: come back, we had to take our first break. Uh
- 17:41Speaker 2: Mark Pope was on Field of sixty eight yesterday.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Damn it.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I meant to watch that crap.
- 17:46Speaker 2: That was a pretty good interview, and uh I, I
- 17:49Speaker 2: do want to talk about one big thing that came out,
- 17:53Speaker 2: and I want to see if you think this is
- 17:55Speaker 2: true or not, and if that's the one thing that
- 17:57Speaker 2: they need to work on the most. So, UH say,
- 18:00Speaker 2: right there, do you want to call in Fablo two
- 18:02Speaker 2: three four fourteen fifty? You want to textan fable two
- 18:04Speaker 2: four one four fourteen fifty. This is Jessica.
- 18:07Speaker 4: You old buildings downtown County so long ago, windows broke out,
- 18:20Speaker 4: dream out.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Fablo two three four fourteen fifty. You want to call
- 18:58Speaker 2: five O two four one four fourteen to fifty one
- 19:01Speaker 2: a text in on the Whiskey Thief text line, and
- 19:02Speaker 2: you tweet me just cat radio, mister Illinois said from
- 19:05Speaker 2: Sunrise Talk. You didn't get one of the texts until now,
- 19:10Speaker 2: and I'm sorry, but I don't really care at this point.
- 19:13Speaker 2: The Bears need a new stadium, so you were talking
- 19:16Speaker 2: about the Chicago Bears. They have been talking about it
- 19:20Speaker 2: for years. Soldier Field is historic, but too old of
- 19:22Speaker 2: old modern NFL games. It's also the smallest and seeding capacity.
- 19:27Speaker 2: If that means going to the short that the short
- 19:30Speaker 2: distance across state lines, then so be it. Other stadiums
- 19:33Speaker 2: aren't in their home cities. We might as well join
- 19:38Speaker 2: New York and not even be in the same state.
- 19:41Speaker 2: If it ends up happening, it'll be weird at first,
- 19:44Speaker 2: but they will still be close enough for most fans
- 19:48Speaker 2: to not care too much.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I would assume. I think I think that all right.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Here's my opinion on this whole Bear situation. I think
- 19:57Speaker 2: it's sad that they're leaving Soldier Field. I get it
- 20:00Speaker 2: because it's it's there's only two historic football fields remaining
- 20:06Speaker 2: in the NFL, one being Green Bay Packers and the
- 20:09Speaker 2: other one being Soldier Field. And I think it's kind
- 20:13Speaker 2: of sad because we just can't We've got to have
- 20:17Speaker 2: all these big new things and it's just we're going there.
- 20:20Speaker 1: To watch football. Okay, do you but.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Going to Indiana it's it's it's it's you're wrong. By
- 20:29Speaker 2: the way, New Albany is a suburb of Louisville, and
- 20:32Speaker 2: uh and stop it. And uh so going to Indiana's
- 20:36Speaker 2: not that big of a deal. I mean, you go
- 20:37Speaker 2: to see the Giants, you go to see the Jets.
- 20:41Speaker 2: If you're in New York City, you go to New Jersey.
- 20:44Speaker 2: That's where City Field is. I mean, it is true that.
- 20:47Speaker 2: So imagine if they built the Young Center, let's just say,
- 20:51Speaker 2: in Indiana, in Clarksville. Yeah, no, really, probably wouldn't have
- 20:55Speaker 2: affected anything now here. You're still gonna have all your
- 20:58Speaker 2: Loisville fans want to go to the game and all that.
- 21:01Speaker 2: They would have complained like crazy going across the bridge.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Probably no, no, no, probably about it. They would have.
- 21:07Speaker 1: But I don't think at the end of the day,
- 21:09Speaker 1: it would have slowed down people getting in. And I
- 21:13Speaker 1: don't think it. I don't know if I follow you,
- 21:15Speaker 1: what do you mean slow down people game? I don't
- 21:17Speaker 1: think it would deter people from going to Louisville games. Clarksville.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I'll give you an example. So my favorite baseball team
- 21:25Speaker 2: besides Cincinnati is Tampa Bay Rays. Tampa bay Rays are leaving.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I'm I'm literally twelve minutes from my home to Tropicana Field.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Now they're moving over to Tampa. It's now going to
- 21:40Speaker 2: be a forty to forty five minute and probably longer
- 21:42Speaker 2: with game day traffic to get over there. That's a
- 21:45Speaker 2: big issue with me. Sure, and I'm not taking any
- 21:49Speaker 2: other way now. Granted, I am used to going to
- 21:51Speaker 2: Bucks games over there. I'm used to going to Lightning
- 21:54Speaker 2: games over there, but I mean, at least I had
- 21:57Speaker 2: the Tampa bay Rays close to me. Now it's going
- 22:01Speaker 2: to be a long drive. I'm not happy about it.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I mean, it will probably keep me from going to
- 22:05Speaker 2: some games.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Going to those games isn't nearly as entertaining as going
- 22:10Speaker 1: to a books or Lightning game. I would imagine. Oh no,
- 22:13Speaker 1: I love going to the Raised games. Really, no, no, no, no no.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I don't like that stadium.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I understand, but the problem A lot of the problem
- 22:23Speaker 2: was it was a dark stadium, and since the hurricane
- 22:26Speaker 2: took down the roof, they now replace it with something
- 22:30Speaker 2: that makes it really bright. So you're inside there and
- 22:34Speaker 2: it's really bright unless it's a night game.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Does that help the grass? There's no grass? But that's
- 22:40Speaker 1: why I hate Tampa Bay Stadium because the turf is awful. Well,
- 22:43Speaker 1: they changed the turf bran new Okay, so it's all
- 22:46Speaker 1: the same, everything's brand new.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Yeah, So uh, I just I'm not gonna drive all
- 22:51Speaker 2: the way over there for as many games as I
- 22:53Speaker 2: go in St.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Pete.
- 22:54Speaker 2: So I kind of feel like that's that will probably. Well,
- 22:57Speaker 2: I don't know that baseball is different than NFL because
- 23:01Speaker 2: NFL you don't have as many games. Baseball you got
- 23:03Speaker 2: a game almost every night for months. So with football,
- 23:07Speaker 2: it might force him how long is that drive going
- 23:09Speaker 2: to be? Anyway from Chicago all the way out to Indiana.
- 23:12Speaker 2: It might take some of those people an hour to
- 23:14Speaker 2: get there, so that's a pretty big hike. Now they'll
- 23:17Speaker 2: probably just take the train. Yeah, but then are you
- 23:21Speaker 2: carrying tailgate stuff? And are you really getting the fun
- 23:23Speaker 2: effect of football? Because I think that's just equally as
- 23:27Speaker 2: fun as the game itself. So am I wrong to
- 23:30Speaker 2: think that it's only thirty.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Two minutes from where Soldier Field is now?
- 23:33Speaker 2: Thirty two minutes that's without traffic though, true, So with
- 23:37Speaker 2: traffic let's add fifteen minutes to be conservative, and I
- 23:40Speaker 2: think that's pretty conservative. But taking the train, you're not
- 23:44Speaker 2: gonna take your tailgate stuff. You want to drive there.
- 23:46Speaker 3: You know.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Granted, I'm used to driving an hour and a half
- 23:51Speaker 2: all my life on Saturdays to go see UK play.
- 23:56Speaker 2: So driving just thirty minutes forty five minutes to go
- 24:00Speaker 2: see that's just like driving across town here in Louisville.
- 24:03Speaker 2: It's no big deal. So I don't know.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I used to think Lexington was so far away. It's
- 24:09Speaker 1: not now anymore. I drive and I'm like, I'm here already.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, unless there's an accident on seventy five or
- 24:16Speaker 2: sixty four and all the construction they had, Can we
- 24:19Speaker 2: stop with the construction in Kentucky just.
- 24:21Speaker 1: For a little while.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Everywhere you go sixty five construction, seventy one construction, Watterson
- 24:29Speaker 2: Expressway construction, sixty four construction. Where name a road where
- 24:35Speaker 2: there is not construction in louis Kentucky. Right now, I'm
- 24:40Speaker 2: being as serious as I can be. It is so frustrating,
- 24:43Speaker 2: and I swear they took a lot of the other
- 24:46Speaker 2: people that were working on the other areas, especially out
- 24:49Speaker 2: in my area seventy one in Wattison. They took all
- 24:52Speaker 2: those people away and put them on the sixty five
- 24:55Speaker 2: construction for a while because it seems like nothing has
- 24:58Speaker 2: happened there. And this past weekend they had the Waterston
- 25:02Speaker 2: shut down. From where I get on, it's like, what
- 25:04Speaker 2: do I do now? I couldn't even go to dinner anyway. Uh,
- 25:08Speaker 2: but yeah, there you go. Josh texted in says, uh,
- 25:13Speaker 2: back back back, back back back.
- 25:14Speaker 1: That's it.
- 25:15Speaker 2: That's all Berman is saying, because that's all there is.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Oh boy, yeah here I am. I don't know how
- 25:24Speaker 2: long now I'm going to be fixated on that.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I just want you to and this is your doing.
- 25:30Speaker 2: This is justin Kalin's doing. It couldn't help it. I
- 25:33Speaker 2: saw that video yesterday and I just I could not
- 25:36Speaker 2: stop laughing.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Oh man, it's just it's just whatever. Okay.
- 25:41Speaker 2: One person texting better lock Wukosh orbsuit in the Chaos
- 25:46Speaker 2: R team said they are going to invite him. What Okay,
- 25:51Speaker 2: here's what you gotta do? Uh when we go on,
- 25:56Speaker 2: I am I'm almost to the point now. I want
- 25:58Speaker 2: you to call him right now, Okay. I want you
- 26:01Speaker 2: to get Wu on the phone. Right now, I might
- 26:05Speaker 2: text him and say, dude, we need this. Uh, we
- 26:09Speaker 2: don't need you on their team. Who's been taking care
- 26:12Speaker 2: of you for a while. Now, what do you think
- 26:15Speaker 2: we can't have him on that other team?
- 26:19Speaker 1: Here's the thing, though, Are we one hundred percent positive
- 26:24Speaker 1: that's how it's gonna work? What do you mean, like,
- 26:27Speaker 1: if you show up with a team, are you or
- 26:32Speaker 1: do we know that that's what you're gonna get to
- 26:33Speaker 1: play with? Because I don't think it will be like that.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I don't know, I do. I think it'd be like
- 26:39Speaker 1: a it's gonna be like a school yard pick him.
- 26:42Speaker 1: I have a feeling I don't know. Maybe not, I
- 26:46Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe you are supposed to put your own.
- 26:47Speaker 2: But you know, thank you Texter, you hadn't You hadn't
- 26:50Speaker 2: texted since July, and I appreciate you texting in here
- 26:54Speaker 2: so uh but listen, you act like July was so
- 26:58Speaker 2: long ago. I know, but it's been three weeks well
- 27:03Speaker 2: since this person texted. So uh anyway, but yeah, all right,
- 27:07Speaker 2: Uh WU is answering me right now? Watch him say no,
- 27:10Speaker 2: I'm on KSR and I'll lose it if that's the case.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Uh all right, yeah, call him, call him right now.
- 27:18Speaker 2: All right, he's available, So we'll get WU on right now,
- 27:22Speaker 2: and we're gonna ask this question right now, So don't
- 27:24Speaker 2: get Are you getting upset with me because I'm having okay, okay,
- 27:28Speaker 2: you had a funny look on your face. One person.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Well, well, I'll.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Hold on text right now. Let's get WU on the phone.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Because I appreciated Texter. Uh uh, and you forewarning me
- 27:40Speaker 2: because I feel like he's more of a Big X
- 27:43Speaker 2: guy and then just the Cats guy than he is
- 27:45Speaker 2: anybody else because we've had him on all kinds of times,
- 27:48Speaker 2: So I think that's important. And uh, we need to
- 27:52Speaker 2: just just come down with this and and and figure
- 27:56Speaker 2: out who's he gonna choose. This is a big moment.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I think this is a big moment, a defining moment
- 28:03Speaker 2: for just the Cats and the Big X. Okay, I
- 28:06Speaker 2: just want you to know that, all right, Uh Wukash's
- 28:08Speaker 2: on the phone with us now, WU, good morning. How
- 28:11Speaker 2: are you doing?
- 28:13Speaker 3: How much I'm doing? Fair? Well?
- 28:15Speaker 1: I'm a little.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Concerned right now because you know, you got this whole
- 28:19Speaker 2: media madness event that's going to be happening, and I
- 28:23Speaker 2: was really plugging you yesterday saying that you know you're
- 28:27Speaker 2: a part of the Big X team and you've been
- 28:30Speaker 2: on this show, and I greatly appreciate that. But somebody
- 28:34Speaker 2: texted in and said better luck wu kosh orbs uit h.
- 28:39Speaker 2: The Chaos R team said they are going to invite
- 28:41Speaker 2: him on their team. I got to know if they
- 28:45Speaker 2: have reached out to and I hope you said no,
- 28:48Speaker 2: that you wouldn't be a part of Michael Bennett and
- 28:49Speaker 2: Just the Cats.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I'll tell you what I do. Accept the maasas. So
- 28:53Speaker 3: you guys have it out and half of it we're
- 28:56Speaker 3: going to put it to a charity of your toes
- 28:59Speaker 3: And oh.
- 29:00Speaker 1: My gosh, justin that's the perfect answer. No, it isn't
- 29:05Speaker 1: the perfect answer. He's supposed to say yes to me.
- 29:08Speaker 1: He's riding the fence, trying to get a little money
- 29:10Speaker 1: out of the deal. I don't I don't hate the boy.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Woo.
- 29:12Speaker 2: All right, I'll buy you a fly to beer at
- 29:14Speaker 2: the last place we had lunch over in Indiana.
- 29:16Speaker 1: How's that?
- 29:17Speaker 3: Oh that's a good start. We can talk about it.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I don't know if I have as
- 29:28Speaker 2: deep as pock as as KSR.
- 29:30Speaker 1: But anyway, but uh, whoo, I don't know who. Please,
- 29:35Speaker 1: I need you. I gotta have you. Please don't leave,
- 29:38Speaker 1: Michael Bennett. You are my best friend. I need somebody
- 29:41Speaker 1: like you out there.
- 29:44Speaker 3: We can walk it out. I can I can split.
- 29:47Speaker 3: You know, today with nil deals, everybody's the mercenary, so
- 29:51Speaker 3: you know the loyalty is gone.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Listen to this. He's not loyal to me.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Justin I've never been so disappointed my life. If I
- 30:00Speaker 2: need a box of Kleenex right now because I'm just
- 30:02Speaker 2: gonna cry in my own time.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I mean, we had to know that WU would be
- 30:05Speaker 1: one of the most heavily sought after guys.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Right, Yes, I would agree, but you know I got
- 30:11Speaker 2: the dream team I got, and I'm gonna get Winston
- 30:14Speaker 2: Bennett to come back because we need we need two
- 30:16Speaker 2: minutes on this team, and I need WU to be
- 30:19Speaker 2: on my team, not not not that other team that
- 30:21Speaker 2: just you know they're not as reliable as I am.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Well, what do you think should should former players be
- 30:27Speaker 1: able to play in this?
- 30:30Speaker 3: Yeah? Why not? I mean I mean right now, today, today,
- 30:36Speaker 3: in today, in today's market, let's just have some fun,
- 30:39Speaker 3: you know like that. I think that should be raally
- 30:42Speaker 3: you should have no more, let's say than one. So
- 30:46Speaker 3: you have one options and you have to be out
- 30:50Speaker 3: out of the University of Kentucky or any other more
- 30:55Speaker 3: than fifteen years. How about that?
- 30:57Speaker 2: I like, my concern is is what what kind of
- 31:01Speaker 2: life policy is Kentucky gonna offer to me? Because I
- 31:04Speaker 2: I did. I went to bed last night thinking, Okay,
- 31:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna have a heart attack at the practice field
- 31:10Speaker 2: there at Joe Craft Center, uh at UK and that's
- 31:13Speaker 2: what's gonna happen. And the UK is probably going to
- 31:16Speaker 2: take no responsibility because they made me write my life
- 31:19Speaker 2: away to them in hopes that you know, I wouldn't
- 31:22Speaker 2: die there at their at their center working out a
- 31:25Speaker 2: little dribbling and walking.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Me and you both.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Come on, wu I listen, I've never been more disappointed
- 31:36Speaker 2: in you. I mean, this makes me really want to
- 31:38Speaker 2: reconsider whether having you on the show anymore.
- 31:42Speaker 3: You know, you get over it, give it a couple
- 31:45Speaker 3: of months.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Now, I'll always call you beck Are you kidding? Your
- 31:50Speaker 1: own my favorites?
- 31:51Speaker 2: But all right, wu uh, We'll let you go, but
- 31:54Speaker 2: I appreciate you coming on for a few minutes.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Hey, hey, not not a problem, guys, And if you
- 31:59Speaker 3: need any help. I'm available, can I can you know,
- 32:02Speaker 3: I'll tell you what. When you two play against each other,
- 32:05Speaker 3: I'll just sit out. But outside of that, I'll be
- 32:08Speaker 3: on everybody on each other's team. So we call it.
- 32:11Speaker 1: You just said if I ever need help, I'm asking
- 32:14Speaker 1: for help right now, and you're just like, well, i'll
- 32:16Speaker 1: play it down the middle. Who's gonna pay me more money?
- 32:18Speaker 1: It's like, come on, who I'm asking for the help now?
- 32:21Speaker 3: Hey, haven't you haven't you heard all of the former
- 32:25Speaker 3: players interviews. It's my time now. I was a gladiator
- 32:29Speaker 3: right now that the it's a it's a mercenary out
- 32:33Speaker 3: their fields. So I want I want mine. I have
- 32:37Speaker 3: I have bills to pay.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Michael, Yeah, you do have bills to pay.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I'm just curious of the media members, who do you
- 32:46Speaker 2: want to see play a one on one against each other?
- 32:49Speaker 3: I would I would definitely like to see you against
- 32:53Speaker 3: mad Jones.
- 32:55Speaker 1: That's what I'm afraid of. Everybody's gonna make this about
- 32:58Speaker 1: the two of us, and it's I.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Don't know that's what you want? You man? You like Tupac.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Now that's all right.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna braid my hair and I'm gonna put nothing
- 33:12Speaker 2: but gold chains around my neck, and I'll wear my
- 33:14Speaker 2: shorts barely above my waistline money shorts.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Yes, every single every single time I see you getting
- 33:22Speaker 3: better health and so it's time to put it out there.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Man.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Well, I need a workout partner, So maybe you'll come
- 33:29Speaker 2: over there and give me some pointers on shooting and
- 33:31Speaker 2: and getting in better shape again, because I I don't
- 33:34Speaker 2: know if I can go up and down the court
- 33:36Speaker 2: three or four times, but I'll do my.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Best five am in the morning at the buckner Y.
- 33:41Speaker 3: You are more than welcome to.
- 33:45Speaker 1: There you go, just a little plug for the butner YMC.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Is that where you are at five am?
- 33:50Speaker 3: Yes?
- 33:52Speaker 1: Good for you.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Every day I gotta you know, I just stay in
- 33:57Speaker 3: shape simply because I don't want to die. There's there's
- 34:04Speaker 3: no other reason for it. Like people say, oh it
- 34:07Speaker 3: makes you feel better, is no. I just want to
- 34:11Speaker 3: live long enough to hopefully watch my daughter play volleyball
- 34:14Speaker 3: for University of Kentucky.
- 34:16Speaker 1: There you go. I like that exactly.
- 34:18Speaker 2: So all right, I'm curious before we let you go,
- 34:22Speaker 2: what are you doing at five am?
- 34:24Speaker 1: What? What kind of workout is this? Walk me through.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I'll just go drib a little basketball do some free
- 34:30Speaker 3: weights run on a treadmill, and probably the shower afterwards
- 34:34Speaker 3: take the longest.
- 34:37Speaker 2: I'll be in the sun and the coal plunge. Okay,
- 34:40Speaker 2: So anyway, all right, well we'll let you go, but
- 34:43Speaker 2: you know you're always welcome to the show, and you
- 34:45Speaker 2: just you just let me know what do I need
- 34:47Speaker 2: to do to sway you overto towards Michael?
- 34:50Speaker 3: Okay, when is it supposed to happen?
- 34:53Speaker 2: September seventeenth is when it's supposed to happen.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Like twenty thirty two or no, no, no, I'm talking
- 35:00Speaker 1: next month. Well, I gotta get my why you're saying
- 35:02Speaker 1: that I need that much time to get in shape.
- 35:07Speaker 3: You know you're taking the way you want it, but
- 35:09Speaker 3: I would need these five years to get you ready.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, come on, whoo. I just we're not
- 35:18Speaker 1: the friends I thought we were. I considered you a
- 35:20Speaker 1: close friend. Okay, all right then.
- 35:22Speaker 3: All right, well I'm just joking. H So, so he's
- 35:26Speaker 3: supposed to Yeah, I just got to make sure I
- 35:29Speaker 3: put it on my calendar because I want a witness.
- 35:32Speaker 2: This, and I'm scared to ask, what do you exactly
- 35:36Speaker 2: want to witness? But I think it'll be a lot
- 35:39Speaker 2: of fun. And I love that Mark Pope is doing this,
- 35:41Speaker 2: and I think they it's kind of refreshing to see
- 35:43Speaker 2: what they're doing now to get excitement again for his
- 35:47Speaker 2: third season. And I think he's really hitting some home
- 35:50Speaker 2: runs right now.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean, I mean this, this is a
- 35:54Speaker 3: do or die for him right here, So he gotta
- 35:56Speaker 3: go right there's there's no more mulligance.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Yes, I couldn't agree more. All right, we'll let you go.
- 36:02Speaker 3: You have a great day, Okay, you thanks for cold.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Definitely or zoot. I love that guy, Okay, I mean
- 36:11Speaker 2: he makes me smile every time. I mean, but anyway,
- 36:14Speaker 2: it's always fun having him on for a couple of months.
- 36:16Speaker 2: But I'm a little disappointed he he couldn't commit, you
- 36:20Speaker 2: know what the heck exactly? I mean, why noncommittal? And
- 36:25Speaker 2: of course they all want the money. I mean maybe
- 36:27Speaker 2: I should I need to work something out. Who's gonna
- 36:29Speaker 2: pick me? And and how much are they gonna pay
- 36:32Speaker 2: for me? I really don't think WU should be in this.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Why. I mean, yeah, I guess technically he's part of
- 36:41Speaker 1: the media, yes, but he's not full time. He's also no,
- 36:46Speaker 1: nothing is he's seven foot three. Who in the hell
- 36:49Speaker 1: is gonna guard that dude?
- 36:50Speaker 2: I'm not going to because he's gonna be on my team.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna make certain whatever I have to do, he's
- 36:55Speaker 2: gonna be on this team.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I mean, the only media member that I could see
- 36:58Speaker 1: guarding WU would be Nick Roul. He's gonna be on
- 37:00Speaker 1: your team too.
- 37:01Speaker 2: He's not gonna Nick Rouse couldn't guard him. Sorry, Listen,
- 37:06Speaker 2: you talk about going dirty, you have to go dirty
- 37:09Speaker 2: on WO. And I'm scared that WU would definitely be
- 37:12Speaker 2: coming right back at you and get even dirtier. So
- 37:16Speaker 2: he's just got to be careful. But all right, we
- 37:18Speaker 2: gotta take another break. I five were two three four
- 37:20Speaker 2: fourteen fifty five two four one four fourteen get fifty.
- 37:23Speaker 2: I'll get back to your text as soon as.
- 37:24Speaker 1: We get back. What's your dreams?
- 37:44Speaker 4: Away?
- 37:44Speaker 3: Far?
- 37:45Speaker 5: And now I won't see you for sometime. I am
- 37:49Speaker 5: lost in mine man. I get lost in mine man.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Mama once told me you're already homey you feel love.
- 37:58Speaker 5: I am lost in a man again, lost in my mind. Oh,
- 38:23Speaker 5: my brother, your wisdom is old of them?
- 38:30Speaker 1: Are we just going on my morning jacket?
- 38:32Speaker 3: Today? Oh?
- 38:33Speaker 1: It is it who is this? This is the Head
- 38:36Speaker 1: in the Heart.
- 38:37Speaker 2: I like this song. I know the Head in the Heart. Okay, Yeah,
- 38:40Speaker 2: that's a pretty good song, right there is okay.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Uh.
- 38:43Speaker 2: So yesterday Mark Pope was on field of sixty eight
- 38:48Speaker 2: uh and he made a statement which I found very
- 38:50Speaker 2: interesting and very insightful. On top of it all, he
- 38:53Speaker 2: said that everybody in college basketball has gotten so big
- 38:57Speaker 2: and physical, and that's not us right now. We are long, fast,
- 39:03Speaker 2: and skilled. We have some togetherness that's going to translate
- 39:07Speaker 2: to toughness for us, but we're going to be challenged
- 39:10Speaker 2: in terms of brute strength and physicality. I mean, does
- 39:14Speaker 2: that define last year? Well, does that define the last
- 39:17Speaker 2: two year teams with Mark Pope?
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 39:22Speaker 1: Kind of. I think so without a doubt. But also
- 39:26Speaker 1: we were talking about it on my show this morning.
- 39:28Speaker 1: I do think that physicality is something that you can
- 39:33Speaker 1: grow into as the year goes along. Once you start
- 39:35Speaker 1: playing games and other teams are hitting you, beating you up,
- 39:39Speaker 1: then you'll learn how to get more physical, especially when
- 39:42Speaker 1: SEC plays starts.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I just don't think that first year team got physical,
- 39:46Speaker 2: and I think that was kind of what was the
- 39:48Speaker 2: downfall of that team last year. They were somewhat physical.
- 39:52Speaker 2: I mean, that was the biggest knock on Brandon Garrison,
- 39:55Speaker 2: wasn't it. That would be the biggest knock on Malacamorno.
- 40:00Speaker 2: But but he was a freshman, he was too young. Now
- 40:02Speaker 2: that's the one thing they say he has improved quite
- 40:05Speaker 2: a bit is strength and how big he is now
- 40:09Speaker 2: because he oh, but he looks completely different. Uh And
- 40:14Speaker 2: but but physicality. That's the most overused word in the world. Okay,
- 40:21Speaker 2: Kirk Kurbstreet needs to figure out some new words because
- 40:24Speaker 2: he uses it way too much. But I like the
- 40:27Speaker 2: fact that Mark Pope is saying this right now because
- 40:30Speaker 2: I think that's probably more important than having uh other things.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Don't you want your team to be physical more than
- 40:38Speaker 2: anything else?
- 40:40Speaker 1: Not? Really? I mean, really, I'm much more this question
- 40:43Speaker 1: got brought up on my show. I'm much more likely
- 40:46Speaker 1: to to want physical or not physicality. That's what we're
- 40:50Speaker 1: just talking about. I want athleticism, Give me speed, give
- 40:53Speaker 1: me athleticism. That's the type of guys that I want.
- 40:56Speaker 1: It is we can I mean, we can get physical
- 41:00Speaker 1: if we need to.
- 41:00Speaker 2: But athleticism is almost the same as physicality, isn't it. No,
- 41:05Speaker 2: you don't think so.
- 41:06Speaker 1: No, When I think of physicality, I think of bumping bodies,
- 41:10Speaker 1: being real aggressive, defensively, getting up in guy's grills. Whereas athleticism,
- 41:14Speaker 1: you're just gonna be able to to do whatever you want.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Out there, which includes being physical, which includes being physical. Okay,
- 41:22Speaker 2: all right, that's all.
- 41:24Speaker 1: You're right. I can't tell you you're wrong. But anyway, I
- 41:30Speaker 1: don't know.
- 41:31Speaker 2: I look at this, I think is that the biggest concern.
- 41:34Speaker 2: He hasn't talked a lot about shooting this offseason.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? Yeah?
- 41:41Speaker 2: Go ahead, good, Yeah, all I've heard, well, yeah, well
- 41:47Speaker 2: that was last year. Even more so, I don't think
- 41:49Speaker 2: he's done it so much this.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not nearly as much this year as he did. Yeah,
- 41:53Speaker 1: and I hope that's not going to be the case. Well,
- 41:55Speaker 1: and it's a lot of times it's this year. It's
- 41:57Speaker 1: not coming from him, You're you're getting that from other
- 42:00Speaker 1: sources that are saying that. Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Uh.
- 42:02Speaker 2: One person texts it out, Michael's and a conda don't
- 42:06Speaker 2: want none unless they got buns.
- 42:09Speaker 1: But hone's right? Is that a lyric? Yeah? I don't
- 42:13Speaker 1: from what songs? And a conda don't want unless you
- 42:17Speaker 1: got Yeah, I have no idea what who sings? You
- 42:19Speaker 1: could do side bends, will sit up? Who sings? Okay,
- 42:22Speaker 1: I got it? Who sings it?
- 42:24Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I knew you were gonna ask. Okay,
- 42:26Speaker 2: then forget about it. I don't know about that, Michael.
- 42:29Speaker 2: I think there's some big twits that are on air
- 42:32Speaker 2: in the afternoon.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I don't know who he's talking about. Best not check
- 42:37Speaker 1: the menu unless you are ready to be eating at
- 42:40Speaker 1: a new restaurant, because your current one will be closing soon.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I have no idea what you're talking about, Jamie. By
- 42:50Speaker 1: the way, Okay, yeah, I don't know what he's talking
- 42:54Speaker 1: about here. Best not check the menu unless you are
- 42:56Speaker 1: ready to be eating at a new restaurant because your
- 42:59Speaker 1: current one will be closed. Talking about the thing with
- 43:01Speaker 1: your wife. Oh, because you're on a diet doesn't mean
- 43:04Speaker 1: you can't look at.
- 43:04Speaker 2: The mini Oh I got oh? Oh, oh okay, I
- 43:08Speaker 2: got it. Yeah, I had an interesting dinner last night.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Let's just keep it at that. Uh anyway, uh one,
- 43:15Speaker 2: Josh text it out. I'm getting way ahead of the
- 43:18Speaker 2: game here. But Texas Roadhouse buying the Cadon Tower.
- 43:21Speaker 1: It's cool.
- 43:23Speaker 2: I didn't know this did you. You know where the
- 43:26Speaker 2: tower is, right and you saw this, I saw the news.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Yeah really okay. I always feel like the external elevator
- 43:34Speaker 2: on the side of the building is going to go
- 43:36Speaker 2: through the roof like Willy Wonka. I'm right there with you.
- 43:39Speaker 2: It's interesting to see what will happen with Ruth Chris.
- 43:42Speaker 2: But if I'm Texas Roadhouse, I keep them there just
- 43:45Speaker 2: to show hey, uh, and they aren't our competition. Our
- 43:50Speaker 2: stakes are better. Interesting. So the Texas Roadhouse is growing
- 43:56Speaker 2: so much because they're right next door to Cayton Tower
- 43:59Speaker 2: in those U shorter buildings that they're now buying. See,
- 44:03Speaker 2: that building has been there since I was born. I
- 44:06Speaker 2: mean that's that's a bit of a If you were
- 44:08Speaker 2: to name iconic buildings in Louisville, what are the ones
- 44:12Speaker 2: you think of?
- 44:13Speaker 1: First?
- 44:14Speaker 2: The Dome one, The Dome one, I don't know, oh
- 44:18Speaker 2: really it is. I think it's a bank building, the
- 44:21Speaker 2: one downtown. Really, that one is the first one you
- 44:23Speaker 2: think of. Absolutely almost to me, it's Churchill down.
- 44:26Speaker 1: And then next would be the large square one beside
- 44:29Speaker 1: it because my mom used to work in that.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Oh really yeah, uh, National City, I think that's what
- 44:35Speaker 2: that one's called. I don't know what that's Joe, Yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 2: I mean that dome one. I always think about Howard
- 44:41Speaker 2: Stern when he did that uh billboard and he didn't
- 44:45Speaker 2: have any clothes on, and the dome was, you know,
- 44:48Speaker 2: strategically placed.
- 44:50Speaker 1: So we'll just leave it at that. You can figure
- 44:52Speaker 1: the rest out. Figure it out. Yeah, I don't know.
- 44:56Speaker 1: It is interesting, though. What's gonna happen with Ruth Cruise? Well,
- 44:59Speaker 1: see the the other part one. I agree the other
- 45:02Speaker 1: building is human. I'm surprised you didn't say human building.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Of course it's completely empty from what I hear. But yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 1: that's interesting.
- 45:11Speaker 2: So you think you think they should kick out because
- 45:14Speaker 2: that's a bit of a debate. If they own the building,
- 45:16Speaker 2: would you They're not competitors though you got one, Ruth.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Chris is a little more of a high end steak
- 45:22Speaker 2: place Texas Roadhouse, not a knock, but it's not a
- 45:26Speaker 2: high end steakhouse. It's a little too noisy for me.
- 45:30Speaker 2: I like Texas Roadhouse, but it's just too noisy. And
- 45:33Speaker 2: when they do the dance thing, it's like, I just
- 45:35Speaker 2: want to go. Do you like the dance thing they do?
- 45:39Speaker 1: I don't mind it, of course, it's somebody's birthday. Birthdays
- 45:42Speaker 1: are made to be celebrating.
- 45:43Speaker 2: No, not mine. I don't want it celebrate. I don't
- 45:45Speaker 2: want anybody singing for me. I'm gonna tell him it's
- 45:48Speaker 2: your birthday. No time we go. No, Michael, I listened
- 45:51Speaker 2: to the Field of sixty eight. Mark Pope is our guy.
- 45:54Speaker 2: He is smarter than all of us, and he gets it.
- 45:57Speaker 2: You don't want him, mad, our coach, You are mentally ill?
- 46:02Speaker 2: What he's smarter than all gay don't want him? Mad
- 46:10Speaker 2: I'm mentally ill. Okay, I don't understand where this is coming.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I don't. I don't either.
- 46:14Speaker 2: But did I say anything negative about Mark Pope? I
- 46:17Speaker 2: didn't think I did.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I didn't think so. No, But uh that's fine, Okay.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Well, uh, I don't know how you better take your
- 46:26Speaker 2: medicine during Clearly I got to go get somebody needs
- 46:30Speaker 2: to control my meds. But uh, anyway, but no problem,
- 46:33Speaker 2: you got that right to say that, and uh anyway, Okay, Well, well.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Now you messed him up. Text.
- 46:40Speaker 2: I I don't know. I really don't know how to
- 46:42Speaker 2: respond to. I would like you to explain yourself a
- 46:46Speaker 2: little more text or so I can fully understand this,
- 46:48Speaker 2: that's what I would like, So if you don't mind
- 46:50Speaker 2: explaining that, I would appreciate it, because yeah, that did
- 46:54Speaker 2: kind of mess me up. But anyway, all right, our
- 46:56Speaker 2: two coming right up, stay right there or just again
- 47:00Speaker 2: lost in.
- 47:00Speaker 5: My mind lost, I get lost, I get lost in
- 47:05Speaker 5: my lost, Yes, icket, lost in my mind, lost time.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 47:37Speaker 2: All right, all right, well, I mean, my goodness, you
- 47:42Speaker 2: don't have to bang on the wall man.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Or your music was running out. I wasn't coming back.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Why not you You're you're professional, my good big Blue Nation.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Well we don't say that second hour, okay, you can
- 47:54Speaker 2: just say hey, Michael's uh you know, prematurely. Uh uh,
- 47:59Speaker 2: I don't know what I'm I'm gonna say here, but uh, anyway,
- 48:02Speaker 2: I'm just talking to Corey Price, enjoying myself, and uh
- 48:06Speaker 2: I like talking to to Corey Price. By the way,
- 48:08Speaker 2: you know it's Tuesday. So there we go. Let's just
- 48:10Speaker 2: start it now on.
- 48:11Speaker 1: I gotta get Corey.
- 48:13Speaker 2: No oh you got Oh that's so important, Corey got it.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Corey look at the camera and smile. There we go.
- 48:20Speaker 2: See I let all the ladies see you now, Okay,
- 48:23Speaker 2: there we go. Corey Price, good morning, my friend. How
- 48:48Speaker 2: are you doing today?
- 48:49Speaker 6: I'm doing good. Uh it's eerie. This entire backparking line
- 48:53Speaker 6: is empty. It feels like a ghost town. It's just
- 48:56Speaker 6: it's just odd.
- 48:57Speaker 1: But yeah, we well we just left. We shut down
- 48:59Speaker 1: the radio stage and didn't let you know. So thanks
- 49:01Speaker 1: for the.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Well you think the producer who is in charge of
- 49:06Speaker 2: this whole thing would I would say something to you,
- 49:08Speaker 2: but I called him?
- 49:10Speaker 1: Yeah what called me?
- 49:11Speaker 3: Ago?
- 49:12Speaker 1: He called me as I was getting out of my car.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I could have had you park a little bit closer, Corey.
- 49:17Speaker 1: But what you did is fine. Okay, they're paving. They're
- 49:19Speaker 1: supposed to pave the parking lot today. Why would they
- 49:22Speaker 1: do that? Has in school started over? I don't know
- 49:24Speaker 1: why they would do it in the middle of the
- 49:25Speaker 1: week as opposed to the weekend or in the middle
- 49:28Speaker 1: of the summer when nobody's here. I mean, I guess, yeah,
- 49:32Speaker 1: school has started.
- 49:34Speaker 4: Uh.
- 49:34Speaker 6: Do you know the song paved Paradise and put up
- 49:36Speaker 6: a parking lot?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Oh? Absolutely? Who things that? Well?
- 49:41Speaker 6: Kane Crows did a cover of it, but the one
- 49:44Speaker 6: that's the best version someday before kne Cruise.
- 49:49Speaker 1: That's a great song. Yeah.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it was from a movie. I think it was
- 49:52Speaker 2: called Two Weeks Notice with Sandra Bullock. How do you
- 49:55Speaker 2: like that? And uh, I can't think of the guy's name. Oh,
- 50:00Speaker 2: come on, not Robert Downey Junior, the mister Jones, the Brits,
- 50:04Speaker 2: the British guy. Yes, but that was a good song.
- 50:07Speaker 2: I like counting version.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Mister Jones. I played that on my shell still this morning.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Oh you did? Yeah? No, no, no, it's count c yeah yeah,
- 50:15Speaker 1: cane cruise. Oh, mister Jones.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Okay, I was talking about the uh pay paradise put
- 50:20Speaker 2: up a parking lot.
- 50:22Speaker 1: That's big yellow tax Uh that's that's what's called. Yeah, okay, Yeah,
- 50:26Speaker 1: it's a good song. You should play that sometime. You
- 50:29Speaker 1: should might here at the end of the SEGMENTA. It's
- 50:32Speaker 1: not in the middle of my segment, please thank you. Yeah. Uh.
- 50:36Speaker 6: This week is August ninth, the fifteenth, start off August

- 50:49Speaker 2: but the last longer before hours you call call someone.

- 51:05Speaker 6: It was his debut as a direction Tim Burton. When

- 51:35Speaker 6: might like this one. August tenth, twenty twelve. The comedy
- 51:38Speaker 6: film The Campaign is Figures. Did you like the the Campaign?
- 51:42Speaker 6: Because girl, I loved it?
- 51:44Speaker 1: Are you kidding? Zach G Ferrell? Push it, Push it
- 51:47Speaker 1: real good? Yeah, yeah, all right, this is let's be
- 51:50Speaker 1: honest here at the table.
- 51:52Speaker 6: I was gonna say, by far, the best scene in
- 51:56Speaker 6: the movie is when Zach's kids confessed things.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, yes, I shaved some hair off my

- 1:00:11Speaker 2: sounds like you.
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: Yeah, you shouldn't be doing that, Michel Ben think something.
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: I think of miss miss Kates in that one scene.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: Film gross approxy one here in seventy four point eight
- 1:00:23Speaker 6: million dollars domestically, making it the seventeenth highest friction film,

- 1:00:38Speaker 2: a chick flick, and I can't believe both of y'all
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: liked it. I'm really disappointed in you.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I would hardly call that a chick flix really okay,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: and has chick flick elements.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: It's a it's a rom com and that is the
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: true definition of a chick flick. Right, No, I'm good.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: I'm definitely going.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Chick flicks don't have no calm. They just have the wrong.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they do. They have stupid calm. It's just not
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: even close to being funny. And my wife's down there
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: dying laughing at these ridiculous movies she watches.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: They're just some Asian well exactly.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: And you know what, when I sit down with her
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: and she's watching some show and she says, yeah, you're
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: not gonna like this, I'm up.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: I'm out of there. That's my past to get the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: heck out of the way from that TV. I mean,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: are the times where she watches something that she knows
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: she doesn't like, but she watches it with you because
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: you like it. Does it happen anything? No?
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: No, she walked out when I watch when I watch
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: my dumb movies, Uh, the other guys, step brothers, the campaign,
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: she's out of there. Yeah, she's like, I don't want
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: to see that again. So I see I watch movies
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: several times. If I really like it, I'll watch it
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: a bunch of course, every time it comes on, I'll
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: watch it. But she doesn't. She's she watches it one
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: time and that's enough.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, of any movie, which kind of surprises me.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: That's pretty fascinating.
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll know if I could live my life, I've
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: seen number more once, you know. Yeah, yeah, I can
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: pass on that one. No, sorry, no, I can't do
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: that famous line of a movie in your lifetime?
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Is what just a one or my most famous one?
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: It was your most favorite? Man? Oh boy, that's off.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I'm sorry. You'll have to think about that until me
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: next week. Yeah, I guess yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Because it's I mean you you. Anytime somebody says a movie,
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: I like, there's always a line that I love.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: My favorite memory Corey of you saying a line from
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: a movie is probably happened within the last year. Somehow
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: it got brought up your favorite quote from The Hangover.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: And now every time I see The Hangover and see
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: that that scene, I think.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Of it and see he can't even think of what
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: the quote is. Now, you don't remember been the favorite one?
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: You don't remember? What is it? Not at the car?
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Not at the table, Carlos? Yes, god, come on, you
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: are filthy today. By the way, where is this coming from?
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Corey's favorite line from The Hangover? He said? Is it really?
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: It's pretty good?
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Okay, well kids, go look it up online and have
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: your parents called Corey Price.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Corey, I do have a serious question for oh boy,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: what are you doing on September seventeenth? Oh you play
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: a little basketball? Oh no, what I'm not part of
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: the media. Sure you are. That's a pretty big You
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: are on Big X Sports radio twice a week.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: You are considered yeah yeah, and you work in the
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: football uh press box. You are definitely a part of
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: the media, no question. Yes, And whose team do you
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: want to be on? Are you going to be a
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: team that other one or team Big X? H Wow,
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: See that really concerns me right there. In fact, this
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: is war wo.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Arbsuit all over again. I can be bought. You know,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: here comes the bot again? That too. You're saying everything
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: that WU said just exactly.
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: Well, thanks, I guess I don't know. Uh, I honest
- 1:04:09Speaker 6: I didn't even think think about it because I don't
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: see myself as like media quote unquote, So.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: But I don't either. So you got five weeks to
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: get in shape. I look at myself and I'm not
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: a part of the media. But here I am five weeks.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: I don't know how much way I go to five weeks,
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: so this might might not be.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: How many times do you think you could run up
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: and down the court? Oh that's a good now, right? Yes,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: right now? Maybe twice, that's twice. Come, I'm an awful
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: shape right now? How many times do y'all think I
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: can run up and down the court? Twice? I think
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I could do it more than twere. You're in better
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: shape than me, and I could. I think I just
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: just to prove you wrong, I'd do it five times.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I think I could go six, but I would be
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: in bad shape out six seven? Oh, here we go
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: six or seven?
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: No, I see, just just to prove you wrong, justin
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I would go just as many as you.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: No way, just to prove well, then I'm not stopping.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Oh now you gotta stop. I'm bringing out my cross
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: country mindset. Don't stop till you get enough. You did
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: cross country?
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Can you believe that is with somebody holding a bottle
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: of fireball in front of you as.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: You're around, I didn't drink them.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Yeah, well fireball wouldn't invent it either, so don't worry
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Wasn't it two thousand and seven? Yeah, yeah, don't don't
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: drink it. So I have no idea.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: All right, I'm curious. I do want to bring this up.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: CBS Sports yesterday said there are three teams that are
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: under upset alert. UK is one of them because of
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Youngstown State. Is there any chance young Town Youngstown's? Man,
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: that's hard for me to say. Right now, Youngstown State
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: comes into Commonwealth Stadium and beats the University of Kentucky
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: on Will Stein's very first gate. No, I think, Cody
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Nagel said this, Yes, I think spreads like twenty three
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: and a half. Is it that much? Yeah, I didn't
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: realize it was that much.
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: I know we had one scare against Eastern Correct twenty
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: fifteen or fourteen.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: I don't remember when it was, but that sounds about right.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: And in UK is twenty six and oh against the
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: FCS since nineteen seventy eight.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I know ninety four we lost to Northeast Louisiana,
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: but I think that was our first year in the FBS. Yeah,
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: I mean, I know there's lots of questions, especially at
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: half back.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: But I'm not concerned about half back. We have talent
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: that they will never have ever see. We have an
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: offensive line that they'll never see exactly so. And defensively,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I think what do you see Corey as the biggest
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: weakness so far on this football team until they get
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: health the Yeah, running backs, Yeah, I mean if it
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: to get healthy, I might switch it to maybe a
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: linebacker really, but uh, I mean running backs pretty pre
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: thin right now. Well, we're getting close to where you
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: can talk about UK sports again.
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: Uh yeah, twenty five days away. Twenty five days there
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: you go? Yeah, I know, and two weeks until my birthday.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Oh congratulations.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: I hope we remember three because you know, I would
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: have had something for him if he if he had
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: just said yes, I'd play on your team. And I
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: don't have to play on that other one.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: But this hole in il ilready would give you all
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: a little bit more size.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: I know, yeah, and we need size, I can tell
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: you that.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: But so how how big is the cake that you're
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: getting me on in two weeks? How big do you
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: want it to be? As big as you really and
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: as long as it is a fist inness room kind
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: of like the burrito place, as big as your head?
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Is that place still open now? I have no idea.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: It was on Barstown Road? Was it Lebomb?
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: I we're not giving advertisements. People don't think it's clothed.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: Oh it is the bombas Okay?
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: You even eat cake? Yes? Who who doesn't eat cake?
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: You don't strike me as a guy who would eat cake?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: I think the question is do you eat frosting? I
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: think is because I button my my top button? Is
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: that why you? You strike me as a very health
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: conscious person? I mean, I mean I did at one point.
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: I've I've lost off the wagon.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you're back to drinking diet cokes.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: No, I mean I still drink water only, but food wise,
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: I've fallen off the rails. I'm not eating great?
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Are you happy uh? With with my weight?
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: No?
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Not at all, but are you happy when you're done eating?
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Oh that's all yes and no.
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: I mean it tastes great, but I feel like crap afterwards,
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: so it's kind of a give and take less filling.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: But okay, I guess all right? Good heaven you always
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: great and shoots a second. Oh there you go. That's
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Corey Price. Everybody right there, always love having our segment
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: with him. What the heck was that? My gosh, you'll
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: heard that? That hurt? What was it now that? I didn't
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: hear anything in my ear? It was like it's it's
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: a so it's a talk back button. I didn't think
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: it worked it. No, please, don't it hurt my ears?
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: What's happening? Oh? Here we go? Thanks.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: Oh that's just what I need, all right, dear bye,
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Corey Price. We're gonna take a break five two three
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty five two four one four fourteen fifty
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: more and just.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: The cats coming right out. You'll be the press box
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: soon enough.
- 1:09:32Speaker 7: No, you got this go be bad eyes can put
- 1:09:36Speaker 7: on a fucking life.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I don't care about spots on my apple. Leave me
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: the first hand to me.
- 1:09:52Speaker 7: Please don't know, you don't know.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Fiblet two three eight four fourteen fifty you want to
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: give the call? Or five O two four one four
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: fourteen fifty want to text in? That's a long intro.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: I hate that because I love that. I do love
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: that song right there, My morning Jacket does not get
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: played enough. You'll hear more of it. I know I will,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: but I want to hear more of it now is
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: my problem. And then good news for you is that,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: with the way technology is, as soon as you leave here,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: you can connect your phone to your car and you
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: can listen to it twenty times in a row if
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: you want. Do you do that?
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: Do you find a song that just came out and
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: all of a sudden you find yourself it over and
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: over and over? I am very guilty of that.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Not typically, no, I mean really there have been songs
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: like that, but those are very few and far between.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: Really, Okay, all right, dudu, I do want to talk
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: about a couple of things. UK football and Craig Skinner
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: will start the season off ranked number three in the country.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: What did I say football? Did I say football? You're
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: getting their hope?
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: So I know, sorry about that. Volleyball. Volleyball, Well, everybody's
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: hope should be up. That's awesome.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: No, not if Kentucky was number three in football? Yeah,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: I agree, Yeah, well there there were number three in volleyball.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: We we're gonna be happy with Craig Skinner, Okay, we're
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: gonna have him on soon. Uh and he's only behind
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: number one Nebraska Shock Shock Shock and number two Texas.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: The thing that's interesting to me is that, uh what
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: did did I just talk about it last week where
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: uh UK was picked to win the SEC yet preseason
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: ranking has Texas number two? How does that happen? Anyway?
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I just thought that was funny. You could still win
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: the conference? Yeah yeah, but I got you.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: Only other SEC teams that are ranked in the preseason
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: or Texas A and M at number eight. Florida is
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: at number seventeen, in Tennessee at number twenty two. So
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: it's going to be another exciting year for volleyball. It'd
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: be you know, they got to the championship game last
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: year only to lose unfortunately, but you know they got
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: another time.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: This has become dang my Hoosiers number sixteen. Yeah, how
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: do you like that? Yeah? We're never any good at volleyball?
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Oh really, well maybe they are now so I'm got
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: a big ten in this top twenty five.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Oh yeah, big time, big ten. Heck yeah. But uh man,
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: how did Nebraska become so good at volleyball?
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Is what I want to know?
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Nothing, and they're probably well, and that's probably its. I mean,
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: when you think in Nebraska, what's the first thing you
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: think of?
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Corn? Exactly?
- 1:12:52Speaker 6: Corn?
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: So if you're if the first thing you think of
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: of Nebraska's corn, you know it's not a great place
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: to live.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Is that? I mean?
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: I know that's a knock. But what's the first thing
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: you think of when you think of Kentucky?
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Bourbon? Bourbon? Yes, horses, bluegrass. I don't think of bluegrass,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I do because it's all green. It's the bluegrass. Oh
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: here we go again. Okay, but no offense Nebraska. Have
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: you ever been to Nebraska? I don't believe I have no.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I think I've drive driven through it. Yeah, but I
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: don't work. I don't think we stopped. I can't even think.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: What's one city? Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska. That's right.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Oh, that's where the College World Series is. That we
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: should have said College World Series.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Lincoln's also in Nebraska. That's the capital, isn't it? Lincoln, Nebraska.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Believe I believe it is.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: So three UK football players got some preseason recognition. This
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: is coming out of the Pro Football Network named senior
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Sinner who we had on last week, Colton Price as
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: the second team All American and first team All SEC,
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: as well as his senior defensive back Ty Bryant and
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: junior defensive lineman Taving Gadson named to second team All SEC.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: So congratulations to them. It's fun to see brand new
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: players and some not so brand new at Kentucky still
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: getting some recognition. So I am excited about that. And
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: then the other one. I'll talk about that one a
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: little later. So I found this really well. Before I
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: get to this, let me get to a couple of
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: these texts here, because they're nice enough text in. I
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: want to make sure because you made a point to me,
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: and I've taken it to heart because sometimes I'll delay
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: them and I don't mean to you say that you
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: try to read them as soon as they come in
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: because people want to hear it read on the.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Radio that and I want to get to that point
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: that And if they're texting about something topical, I know later.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Half the time we're like what's that?
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: I know, and that's a problem. So help me, help
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: me remember that because I want to get into that
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: habit right there. Yes, thank you, because that's from a
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: movie too, isn't it.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: That is Jerry Maguire.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: That's right, yes, Jerry, Jerry here, John here, Michael, I
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: think you can take take Matt Jones. Hell, okay, it
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: makes me smile, but you are one tough rooster. You
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: remind me of fog Horn Leghorn. I have no idea
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: who fog Horn Leghorn is?
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Do you? I'm sure it's not good.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: If it happens in a one on one game of
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: horse or twenty one, please film it and put it
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: on YouTube channel. Justin has to do play by play.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: I'd love that, would you really?
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Yeah? Who's Fogginhorn? Like? Dunked on again? Oh geez? Oh yeah,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: really he's dunking on me.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: If it's a game.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: Of turn another turnover for it, I think I could
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: do Horse against him. I don't know if I can.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Are you a good shooter? I'm all right, all right,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: yeah I can. I last time he got a basketball
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: it's been a little while. I got a basketball goal
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: on my driveway. I need to go buy a net.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: And that's what I'm gonna go do.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna go buy a net and I'm gonna start
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: shooting again by chain No, I'm not going hood.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: It sounds so good, though, you know there'll be a
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: dark stop in front of my house. No, we're not
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: doing that. And so then the City of Prospect will
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: come out there and put a street light that's on
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: all night long. We are not putting a chain net
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: on my basketball goal. Oh my gosh, that's the dumbest
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: thing I ever heard.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: That.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: That is the most hood thing I've ever heard. And
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: then you know what, I'll get the urge to pull
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: my shorts all the way down there.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: You go.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Yeah, all right here, here's what the one texture meant
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: when I listened to Field sixty eight. And Mark Pope
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: is our guy. He is smarter than all of us,
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: and he gets it. You don't want him, mad our coach,
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: you are mentally ill.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: He meant it.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: He goes you as in general, not just you UK fans. Okay,
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: I'm good with that. Text you and I listen. Let
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: me tell you right now, I appreciate you texting back
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: and explaining that to me. So that's very nice to you.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: One person said, have you all both watched Tombstone?
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Nope? If not, what the hell's your excuse? I don't
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: really have an excuse. I don't really like that style
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: a movie.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: He goes a famous line, I'm your huckleberry. Have you
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: ever had huckleberry?
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: No?
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: When we were out in in Idaho, famous for our
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: Washington is famous for Huckleberry.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: I forget which what it was. Yeah, I don't even
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: really know what that is.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's delicious. I don't either, but let's just say
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: it's good. One person said, uh, my rental car, what
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: does it say?
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: Really, Jamie will like this. It says check rear seat nice.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: So Jamie, this is from buzz Yeah exactly. Oh my gosh.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: You talk about an annoying song. But it works, doesn't it?
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: It does.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: That's that's the kind of thing that you want in advertising,
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: something that's like that, Because you're right. The Iman dot
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: com what's that stinkin plumber as asi plumbing dot com?
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: That one works. And the two lawyers, I think they're
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: no longer lawyers. Together they had five O two triple
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: five fifty eight fifty eight or whatever it was he
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: did this ridiculous rap must not have been that memorable. Well,
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: I mean it's been a while since I've seen it,
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: is the problem. And they even had their kids rapping
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: on it. I was like, no, don't involve your kids
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: on commercials. Okay, let me just tell.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: You it's probably wanted to be.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: I think the most annoying commercials out there are the
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: window ones. The local people that are here doing window
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: commercials and they try to be funny and it just
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: comes across as goofy.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: There's a lot of bad commercial.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Oh there's a Yeah, there's one that where they name
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: their dog Petty Petticoats. It's like, okay, or this Petticoat Junction.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: I mean that's a show from the sixties. It's like,
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: that's dumb. So anyway, sorry about that if you're listening.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: But anyway, there is an amendment proposed by the a
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Florida Center named Ashley Moody that would provide schools, and
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: we're talking about colleges with a window of one hundred
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: and eighty days to leave their conference because you know,
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: you got this whole amendment. A bill going on following
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: the Protect the College Sports Act. Okay, Previously, there was
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: a provision in the bill to prevent further conference expansion,
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: expansion and capping leagues at just nineteen teams. Now they
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: are saying because of this young lady or lady senator
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: that is proposing this, and that she is from the
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: state of Florida, she's insinuating that the ACC is under
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: the enormous pressure again because Florida State and Miami continue
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: to make noise about what their future holds, and the
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: fact that their homesitter is saying this is creating a
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: lot of alarms going off with people. Big ten right
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: now has eighteen schools, right, yep, the SEC has sixteen schools.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: I mean, that's kind of the logical choice which she's
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: insinuating that Florida State and Miami is who she wants
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: to head to the SEC because Florida State has made
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: it perfectly clear they don't want to be a part
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: of the ACC anymore. And if Florida State leaves, Miami
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: wants to go with is that still the case, because
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: like I understand that they went through that a few
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: years ago, but I honestly haven't heard anything about that
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: sense No, But I think they're quietly going behind the scenes,
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: and that's why they have the Senator from Florida talking
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: about this. My problem is, I just don't see any
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: more Florida schools joining the SEC. If it was going
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: to be a Florida school, it'd be Miami. It would
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: not be Florida State. There's the SEC does not gain
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: anything by bringing Florida State in unless unless Florida State
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: is saying, hey, big ten, take us, will be your
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: twentieth school, and then Miami is the one pleading out
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: there saying, SEC, would you please take us? Because I
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: really think the school are. The two schools that make
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: more sense to join the SEC are the North Carolina schools,
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: North Carolina and Duke.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: I'm not going down that road again because I've done
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: told you last week. I completely disagree. All right, then, well,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I found it interesting that this is ACC is going
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: to be gone within the next five years. No, well,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: all right, maybe gone is a little too strong. It'll
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: be a completely different conference. I don't even think that really.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: I mean, I do believe that will happen eventually, but
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: not in the next.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: Five No really, Okay, all right, dude, Well, SEC needs
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: viewership as far as that one particular state. That's why
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: I say that. Let me explain myself. So SEC is
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: in Missouri, Texas. We know all the states are in.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: The one that they're missing in the south is North Carolina.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: Why wouldn't they want North Carolina and Duke in their conference?
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: That's where the missing link is. And you bring those
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: two schools in because North Carolina is somewhat nationwide even
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: though it's based in North cod Duke is definitely nationwide.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: There are fans all over the country, just like with
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: Kentucky and maybe to a degree in North Carolina. That's
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: why bringing those two schools in the make the most sense,
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: because they want more viewership the conference does.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: I was trying to test you on the southern states,
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: but you're right.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Yeah, there's not a state that we're not in now.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: You know they added thirty years ago South Carolina. Only
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: other one is Virginia. But I don't see Virginia being that.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: I mean, you're gonna get more viewers with North Carolina
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: and Duke that addition, adding Virginia and or Virginia Tech.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: I don't think that adds much. It adds some, but
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: not enough. So that's what I think all right, we
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: gotta take our last break. When we come back. LSU
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: has something very interesting going on. And the PGA CEO,
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: Brian uh Rolap is that his name lap came out
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: yesterday and what he said, it's no surprise. Stay right
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: there justsicatis last segment coming right up?
- 1:24:03Speaker 7: How CITs that's.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: What they were meet to night see the Saint Hender
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: river bed. See well but fall he's less down by
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: the water, down by the I like that commercial you
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: just did there, that's a new one. I haven't heard
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: the yard what is it? It's a yard sale or something? Rise?
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: When did you record that? Oh? I did that probably
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: two weeks ago?
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: Really come, rainer shine, very profession Bring a friend. I
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: think your friends should be me.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: Let's go. Let's go treasure hunts.
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Do it?
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: If there was someplace? Do you ever go to yard
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: sales like that or anything like that? Typically? No, I do.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: I will say I do like antique stories. I am
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: I'm good without them, really okay. I like finding old stuff.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: The ones that are interesting to me are the ones
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: in Europe, because you see stuff there in antique stories
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: that you don't see anywhere else, at least what we're
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: used to see.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: My problem is is I just don't know what's like,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: what's good? Yeah, I'm not gonna I get it because
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna. If I'm going antique, I'm gonna buy something
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: because I could sell it. I don't want to buy
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: it because I want to own Oh really, no, I
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: want to own it. I have enough as it is.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: I don't need to collect. It was interesting.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: I went into a antique store in Norway this past
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: when I was there in February, and they had World
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: War two medals. That's cool, That's what I thought. Then
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: I thought, ooh, do I want to do? I really
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: want to medal that with somebody else's that might not
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: be with us anymore.
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: I don't know. That's kind of what I thought, And
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: it made me go dark. Well what happened to him?
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: Did they did? They? Were they killed in action?
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: I did?
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, if I bought it, the guy's
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: gonna come back and hot me probably. Yeah.
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: See, and that's what I don't want that kind of stuff.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: I don't want that voodoo here. That seems like the
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: most likely thing to happen.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, So I thought it was cool to look at,
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: but that was kind of it. I didn't want any
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: a part of that.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: So, uh, last night, I don't know if you've watched
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: any of it, you can get you can go on
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: YouTube and watch this. To me, it's fascinating because this
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: is the big, big, big yearling sale going on right now.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: If it's Saratoga, no offense still Lexington and the Keenland
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: sale or phasic tipped and sale there in Lexington. But uh,
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: these are the premiere horses. And they had a horse
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: last night, a niquist, sold for three point two million dollars.
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: We're talking about a horse that's barely one year old
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: and they paid that kind of money for it. They
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: had a gun runner last night that sold for two
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: point three million.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: Jeez. Here's the crazy part. Are you ready for this?
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: So there's a horse, a sire name not this time.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: One of his offsprings went through the ring last night
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: and the final, the hammerdown price was one point nine
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: five million dollars. Okay, here's the crazy part. The people
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: that owned the horse didn't sell it because they had
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: they had a price that they wanted to get for
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: that horse, and it did not reach that price, so
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: they didn't sell it. One point nine five million dollars.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: That seems ignorant. That's what I think too. It's like
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: you've got them, are you know how many other horses
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: you can give it?
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: I see it's called RNA. It's called exactly, that's the
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: other part. It's called RNA reserve not accepted. So they
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: had a reserve on the horse for who knows how much,
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: and they didn't reach that reserve, so they didn't sell
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: it for one point nine five. But you asked the
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: right question, what is it?
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: How many? Like, how many other horses you could buy? Exactly?
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: You could buy so many horses out there. I just
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: I just three point two million dollars and you could
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: go buy so many horses with that. And you know
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: during the break, you said it best that forest will
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: probably never race.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: You know, it's.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: There's a strong chance that it might not race, and
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: then you spend all that money on it for what. Oh,
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: I have no idea, attacks right off, I guess I
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: don't know. By the way, it's crazy to me speaking
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: of horse racing. Well done you yesterday talking about how
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: white a barrio or thinking about retiring it? Yeah, and
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: it retired yesterday. Yeah, Yeah, and it should have. I mean,
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: beautiful horse, SAFFI did the right thing.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: You know how it beats sovereignty. I don't either. It's like,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: but you know, you have off days, just like just
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: like on radio, we have off days. I feel like
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: I've had an off day all day today, But we
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: have off days, and so maybe sovereignty had an off
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: day for that one particular race. It lost a magnitude too.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: You thought, Okay, what's going on with the sovereignty? But man,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: it proved it's it's the best course out there. Yeah,
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: he definitely is.
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: One text said, I usually don't have to worry about
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: checking the back seat because my passengers usually aren't too
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: quiet back there. This is Jamie the police officer. That's
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: pretty good. I would like to know that would be
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: some questions. I would love to ask a police officer,
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: where are some of the wildest stories they've ever had
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: arresting someone?
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: I just want to like go job shadow him for
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: a day. Can I do that, Jamie? Can I like
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: come job shadow?
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: I don't know what if he gets all of a
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: sudden in a shooting match and then you're sitting in there,
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: what do you do at that point?
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Hope he doesn't get his is the car bulletproof. That's
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: a great question. I have no idea. Do I get
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: to carry Do I get to carry a gun anyway? Yeah? Uh?
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: But all right, one person said, uh, Maryland. Yeah, that state,
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: which was home to Old Hilltop, home of the Preetness
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: and Pimlico Pimblica Co Special has a rich history and
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: horse racing. The Great match between Triple Crown champ or
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: Admiral Seabiscuit took place during nineteen thirty seven. Fdr Took
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: even took a break from his business to listen to
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: it in the radio. Maryland My Maryland. Oh yeah, they
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: have the weirdest state song, by the way, you know
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: that's that's their state song, Maryland, My Maryland.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: And it's too old Tannenbaum, Did you not know that's
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: to the to the music? Yeah, it's terrible. All right.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: LSU is exploring a financial plan. Have you seen this?
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: And I feel like I don't. I almost feel like
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: I should hold on this till tomorrow. Is this to
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: bring in basketball players? This is to bring in nil
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: because have you seen their basketball roster. Well, they're all
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: from out of the country, they're all international. They have
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: four guys on their basketball Yeah, but not everything has
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: been finalized. Okay, So they have players on the team,
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: they just are not showing them on the roster yet.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: So I hear what you're saying, but that's kind of
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: a Missnow more just to let you know, the university
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: is creating a separate controlled company that would house future
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: broadcast revenues and secure a one hundred million dollars upfront
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: investment from a private backer.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: How do you like that? The model aims to build
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: a perpetual, recurring revenue stream to fun athletic costs. So
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: there you go.
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: A private investor said to be acrossher CEO, Great Williams
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: is the one that's putting up this one hundred million dollars.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: And what does he get in exchange for this? He
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: gets a nine percent steak in the new entity and
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: seven percent of its profit. Do you like this happening
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: in college sports?
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: Not particularly because with the way things are now, and
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: this is gonna sound really sad to say, but one
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: hundred million dollars isn't gonna last very long. No, So
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: then what do you do with that juncture? Then you
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: gotta gosh, dang it. Now, I don't know what you
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: do with that juncture. Don't bang on the wall, No,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: I just yeah, I'm I'm I'm just concerned, like that's
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: gonna run out pretty quickly.
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: It is, it's gonna run out real fast. What it
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: b yu that got all that money from private equity
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: and all that money's gone within months, yep. But and
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: this guy's gonna get he's gonna make some money. I mean,
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: you talk about exchange of nine percent stake in the
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: new entity, plus he's getting seven percent of the profits.
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: That's pretty good money right there, especially the kind of
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: revenue that LSU can generate. That's a big time university,
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: especially on the football side. Now, Will will Wade get
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: it going on with basketball down there that yet it
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: remain seen, but I predict he does. It is crazy
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: how his roster is right now, because you're right, they
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: don't even have a full team. But they're going to
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: have a full team. So it's it'll it'll be it'll
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: be something else. Jamie just texted back says if you
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: want to do a ride along, come on, just have
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: to fill out some paperwork, saying I'm not responsible. If
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: anything happens.
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: To you, tell ya that's it would you really, Oh
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: my god, you would go on a ride along? Sure?
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: You know how many times I've wanted to do that
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: in my life. How fun I think that would be? Really?
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: Does it depend on what part of town? What if
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: he's in the west end of the Lord, I don't
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: care where he's at. I think that'd be awesome. Oh yeah, no,
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: I I uh, I don't know.
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: Part of part of me would want to do it
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: for a little bit, but I don't know for all,
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: for an entire day, maybe just for a couple of hours.
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: I just say, hey, let's go ahead a donut place
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: and let's just sit there and talk. Okay, okay, but
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: uh anyway, but yeah, all right, heybody appreciate you listening today.
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: We'll be back tomorrow with full two hours there and
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: uh because we got I'm taking a day off though,
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: so I've already been criticized for that by Yeah, I know,
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: it's like, come on, man, anyway, I'll be off Friday,
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: but we'll be here tomorrow, So everybody have a great day.
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: We'll see you tomorrow. In Justin Katz
