- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simo on the Voice of New
- 0:04Speaker 1: York seven to ten woong.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Well, we've got a lot to get through this hour.
- 0:11Speaker 2: If you're a Democrat, you might want to cover your ears.
- 0:14Speaker 2: You might want to turn the radio for a second.
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's gonna be very upsetting news. Stock markets setting all
- 0:19Speaker 2: time record today, going over fifty three thousand, and let
- 0:23Speaker 2: me check the price of oil. Hang on a second. Oh,
- 0:28Speaker 2: you're not going to like this. Yeah, oil is down
- 0:30Speaker 2: to normal sixty eight dollars a barrel, which is pretty
- 0:34Speaker 2: much the level it was before Iran. Sixty eight dollars
- 0:38Speaker 2: of barrels pretty normal. Getting reports from the Midwest gas
- 0:41Speaker 2: at three dollars a gawn a lot of places. National
- 0:44Speaker 2: average is about three eighty. You got to remember in
- 0:46Speaker 2: New York and California and other you know, Democrat communist states,
- 0:52Speaker 2: they put on so many fees and local taxes and
- 0:55Speaker 2: fees and all that that they keep it up like
- 0:57Speaker 2: at four dollars, But it's dollars in much of the
- 1:00Speaker 2: country three eighties of the national average. But stock market's
- 1:04Speaker 2: at an all time record today because might be President Trump.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Although it's backed off a little, it's down a little,
- 1:12Speaker 2: but President Trump rang the opening bell from the Oval
- 1:15Speaker 2: Office today to announce the launching of the Trump Accounts,
- 1:22Speaker 2: which is where Michael Dell donated a ton of money
- 1:26Speaker 2: for this. He's there at the Oval Office today. Remember
- 1:29Speaker 2: Michael Dell. That's right. He went back before Apple and
- 1:33Speaker 2: Steve Jobs. It was Michael Dell and Dell Computers backing,
- 1:36Speaker 2: you know, nineteen ninety nine, two thousand and that was
- 1:39Speaker 2: the face of the Internet. But the Trump Accounts, it's
- 1:42Speaker 2: a pretty good deal. Every time a child is born,
- 1:45Speaker 2: the government puts a thousand bucks in an account and
- 1:48Speaker 2: then they put it in the right stuff s and
- 1:50Speaker 2: P five hundred funds, that kind of stuff, and it'll grow.
- 1:54Speaker 2: By the time the kid is eighteen, it'll be a
- 1:56Speaker 2: couple hundred thousand or something like that. So it's a
- 1:58Speaker 2: great idea, much better idea than Social Security, which is
- 2:02Speaker 2: always going broke. And I think right now as we
- 2:05Speaker 2: speak it only has about seven years left before it
- 2:07Speaker 2: collapses and goes broke. But that was launched today. It's
- 2:11Speaker 2: a big deal, very tough day for the Democrats because
- 2:14Speaker 2: they've got to try to make this look bad. Let's
- 2:18Speaker 2: see what are they doing on crazy MSNBC. Right, holy,
- 2:20Speaker 2: this breaking news. Trump rails against communism. Well, you're supposed
- 2:26Speaker 2: to rail against communism, you guys over there at MSNBC.
- 2:30Speaker 2: You're supposed to rail against communism. It's a bad thing.
- 2:33Speaker 2: We're against communism. We like America, we like democracy. We
- 2:38Speaker 2: don't like communism.
- 2:39Speaker 3: We like to stop a threat like that immediately and
- 2:43Speaker 3: before it begins.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Just like a cancer.
- 2:45Speaker 3: You got to cut it out. You got to cut
- 2:47Speaker 3: it out fast.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you idiots over there on the left. You also
- 2:50Speaker 2: don't realize this is going to cost you the midterms.
- 2:53Speaker 2: This is the face of your party now, the communism.
- 2:57Speaker 2: It's going to be democracy versus communism on the You know,
- 3:00Speaker 2: you can keep talking about affordability, but it's going to
- 3:03Speaker 2: be communism that is going to be the issue. They
- 3:06Speaker 2: did the right thing.
- 3:07Speaker 3: They saw lightning, and I said, there's no way if
- 3:11Speaker 3: we have to speak.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Oh oh, this is sorry, this is a different cut.
- 3:14Speaker 2: This is here's some more communism.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Communism is a mortal threat to American liberty. It is
- 3:21Speaker 3: the greatest threat to our country including World War One,
- 3:26Speaker 3: World War two, Pearl Harbor, or even nine to eleven.
- 3:30Speaker 4: We're not going to let this happen to us.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember the idea was fighting, you know, fighting
- 3:37Speaker 2: no kings, no kings no. Well that's basically what communism.
- 3:40Speaker 2: The governments, the king and runs your life and the
- 3:44Speaker 2: threat to democracy. Well, this is the actual threat to democracy,
- 3:47Speaker 2: Communism trying to take over it. They say socialism it's
- 3:52Speaker 2: the same thing as communism. It really is the same things,
- 3:55Speaker 2: just this differences. Socialism can be voted in, communism comes
- 3:59Speaker 2: through revolution. But it's all the same thing. So it's
- 4:02Speaker 2: going to be the deciding issue unless Democrats can figure
- 4:05Speaker 2: out how to get rid of this fast. It's going
- 4:07Speaker 2: to be the issue that decides the midterms. I think
- 4:10Speaker 2: you'll find ninety nine percent of America does not want
- 4:13Speaker 2: to become communists, and it'll decide the election. Now you
- 4:16Speaker 2: got the crazy mom Donnie with his crazy Fourth of
- 4:21Speaker 2: July video lecturing America about how disgusting it is. But
- 4:25Speaker 2: to contrast that with President Trump, a powerful speech at
- 4:29Speaker 2: Mount Rushmore. What a background it was, and then a
- 4:34Speaker 2: great speech. I don't understand the DC fireworks. It was
- 4:36Speaker 2: the biggest largest fireworks display in the history of America,
- 4:41Speaker 2: eight hundred thousand. You know, the Macy's fireworks it's like
- 4:44Speaker 2: eighty thousand. This was eight hundred thousand. This is phenomenal.
- 4:47Speaker 2: But they didn't do it till like midnight. I don't
- 4:50Speaker 2: know why they did it so late. I guess they
- 4:51Speaker 2: didn't want to conflict with the Macy's. But the problem
- 4:57Speaker 2: was the weather. As late as was going to be anyway,
- 5:00Speaker 2: the rain started and it was torrential downpours in this
- 5:05Speaker 2: area in DC, so they had to delay. In fact,
- 5:08Speaker 2: it was going to run so late that they told
- 5:11Speaker 2: the President, we might as well reschedule these fireworks in
- 5:14Speaker 2: your speech for another weekend. The President would not hear
- 5:19Speaker 2: of it. They did the right thing.
- 5:20Speaker 3: They saw lightning, and I said, there's no way if
- 5:24Speaker 3: we have to speak in front of one person at
- 5:27Speaker 3: four o'clock in the morning, I'm going to be here.
- 5:29Speaker 3: There's no way we can be deterred.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't want to stop. He said it has
- 5:33Speaker 2: to be on the fourth of July. And it was
- 5:37Speaker 2: a powerful, foul speech about being free, about.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Even while the radicals and extremists attack our incredible history
- 5:45Speaker 3: at every turn, they are silent on the miserable history
- 5:49Speaker 3: of communism itself because it never worked.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Can you imagine this we're fighting communism again. Remember Joe
- 5:56Speaker 2: McCarthy fighting communists in government. Now they're right on the
- 6:01Speaker 2: open to go to Vietnam to fight communism. They're going
- 6:04Speaker 2: to go to Seattle and New York to do it.
- 6:06Speaker 3: It's an ideology of mass theft, mass control, mass lies,
- 6:10Speaker 3: and mass murder. Such doctrines can be given no quarter
- 6:14Speaker 3: and democracy because the first thing they do when they
- 6:18Speaker 3: get into powers turn around and destroy it.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Now it again. Democrats don't believe in science. They never
- 6:25Speaker 2: follow the science. There's a science to running an economy.
- 6:28Speaker 2: We've tried socialism about ten thousand times all over the world.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It's failed every single time. That's the science. Run the
- 6:35Speaker 2: experiment ten thousand times, one hundred percent failure rate, that's
- 6:39Speaker 2: the science. It doesn't work. But Democrats don't follow the science.
- 6:42Speaker 3: You can be loyal to Karl Marx, or you can
- 6:45Speaker 3: be loyal to America. You can be a communist or
- 6:49Speaker 3: you can be a patriot.
- 6:51Speaker 5: You cannot be both.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and it is about Karl Marx. You know all
- 6:55Speaker 2: the things of Mamdani and these other communists say right
- 6:59Speaker 2: out of the Marx writings when he talks about decommodifying housing,
- 7:04Speaker 2: that's Karl Marx term decommodify. It means take the value
- 7:08Speaker 2: out of something. He talks about taking ownership of production
- 7:12Speaker 2: and all of that. Now he's a free grocery store.
- 7:16Speaker 2: This is gonna be fantastic to watch this. We're going
- 7:19Speaker 2: to really enjoy watching this. He runs on doing free
- 7:22Speaker 2: grocery stores. Now, there's nobody that knows less about anything,
- 7:27Speaker 2: especially running a grocery store than Mom, Donnie and these communists.
- 7:31Speaker 2: They have no idea how to run a business, how
- 7:33Speaker 2: to run a grocery store. So they announced the first
- 7:36Speaker 2: location and they say it'll cost thirty million. Well, if
- 7:41Speaker 2: you talk to all the top supermarket companies, how much
- 7:44Speaker 2: does it cost to open a supermarket? Two million. He's
- 7:47Speaker 2: going to spend thirty million and it's not even a supermarket,
- 7:50Speaker 2: it's just a little grocery store. So it's preposterous. It's
- 7:54Speaker 2: like fifteen times the normal cost. And the one he's
- 7:58Speaker 2: opening is a dump. You know, you go into a
- 8:00Speaker 2: Whole Foods or something, are a Wegman's. They're magnificent, like
- 8:04Speaker 2: the size of an airport, very very very high end beautiful.
- 8:08Speaker 2: That costs two million. His little dump in Harlem thirty million,
- 8:13Speaker 2: and he has no idea how to do anything, where
- 8:17Speaker 2: you get the food from, do anything. So they had
- 8:20Speaker 2: a meeting of all the bodega owners. There's like ten
- 8:23Speaker 2: thousand bodegas in Manhattan, and they had a meeting and
- 8:26Speaker 2: a big group of the bodega orders that were invited
- 8:28Speaker 2: to meet with city hall officials and have their questions answered.
- 8:34Speaker 2: So they decided to show up, and it turns out
- 8:37Speaker 2: the city hall officials started bombarding them with questions, what's
- 8:42Speaker 2: you know, where do you buy the food from, what's
- 8:44Speaker 2: the biggest selling food, what's your highest profit margin item?
- 8:49Speaker 2: Asking all these questions. So the podego owners decided not
- 8:53Speaker 2: to tell them. It's proprietary information. We're not going to
- 8:56Speaker 2: tell you. And every time they asked a question, they
- 8:58Speaker 2: couldn't get an answer to it. So that tells you
- 9:00Speaker 2: two things. They really weren't interested in helping bodegas. And
- 9:04Speaker 2: number two, they don't have no clue how to run
- 9:07Speaker 2: a grocery store. They don't know the first thing about it.
- 9:09Speaker 2: That's why they're asking these guys for help. And this
- 9:12Speaker 2: is how dumb these guys, Huh, mom, Donnie, when it
- 9:16Speaker 2: comes to business, when it comes to running anything, you
- 9:18Speaker 2: know you can always call for help. You're the mayor
- 9:21Speaker 2: of New York. People be happy to help you, you know,
- 9:24Speaker 2: like when it comes to crime or what to do
- 9:25Speaker 2: with the police. You could call you know, you can
- 9:27Speaker 2: call Ray Kelly. He would love to help, he said,
- 9:30Speaker 2: guy that loves to help. You could call him up
- 9:32Speaker 2: and say, could I come meet with you for an hour?
- 9:34Speaker 2: You can tell me what I need to know about
- 9:36Speaker 2: the place. He'd be happy to do it. You want
- 9:38Speaker 2: to open a supermarket. John Katzematitis he owns a couple
- 9:41Speaker 2: of hundred supermarkets for forty years. He knows everything about
- 9:45Speaker 2: the supermarket business. You could call them up. He'll help you.
- 9:48Speaker 2: If you're the mayor of New York, Can I come
- 9:51Speaker 2: see I'd like to ask you about supermark? Could I
- 9:52Speaker 2: send my guys over. Could you send your top supermarket
- 9:55Speaker 2: guy to help. They'd be happy to do it. You
- 9:57Speaker 2: can do that with everything. You're in the middle of
- 9:59Speaker 2: New York. He got the greatest CEOs, the greatest business minds.
- 10:03Speaker 2: You got all the experts of the world right here
- 10:06Speaker 2: and the city of New York. They're happy to help you,
- 10:09Speaker 2: but they never ask for help. Instead, you see the
- 10:12Speaker 2: pictures of the Mamdani meeting with all these crazy left
- 10:15Speaker 2: wing cooks like they like they would know how to
- 10:17Speaker 2: run a business. So it was a great speech, President
- 10:21Speaker 2: Trump warning about communism, warning about how many times we've
- 10:24Speaker 2: had to fight it in World War One and World
- 10:27Speaker 2: War two and Vietnam and all of that. Hey, the
- 10:30Speaker 2: interesting thing is all over the world America was being
- 10:33Speaker 2: celebrated King Charles. King Charles had a celebration for American
- 10:39Speaker 2: Independence Day. He hailed America as a remarkable journey. Now,
- 10:43Speaker 2: remember Independence Day was independence from England from Great Britain.
- 10:49Speaker 2: It's to celebrate getting the hell away from England, breaking away.
- 10:53Speaker 2: But even they held a ceremony to honor US countries
- 10:57Speaker 2: around the world. In Paris, the Eiffel Tower with USA
- 11:01Speaker 2: two fifty, the embassy in Tokyo, Romania. There's the long
- 11:06Speaker 2: list of countries all over the world celebrating America. Now,
- 11:09Speaker 2: if you watch CNN, they'll tell you how I hated
- 11:11Speaker 2: we are. Well, it's not the case. A lot of
- 11:14Speaker 2: these countries pretty grateful to us. Even the Pope who's
- 11:18Speaker 2: an American. The Pope's American. Even he marked the fourth
- 11:21Speaker 2: of July by praying at well, he's a crazy left
- 11:26Speaker 2: wing pope. So he did it at an illegal migrant place.
- 11:30Speaker 2: But he did it nonetheless. So a new data coming out.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Democratic Socialists, it seems, according to the study, are over educated.
- 11:41Speaker 2: That means that means that they went to those crazy universities, Harvard, Columbia,
- 11:49Speaker 2: all these places are now in doctrination centers. They were
- 11:52Speaker 2: indoctrinated too much education. A brilliant guy once said, I
- 11:56Speaker 2: heard him say this. He said, I went to college,
- 11:59Speaker 2: but I tried not to get too educated because I
- 12:02Speaker 2: could see they didn't know what they were talking about.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I know exactly what he meant. So President Trump, the
- 12:11Speaker 2: Taxi Council today, that's going to be a big thing.
- 12:13Speaker 2: That's going to help a lot of people. Now, this
- 12:17Speaker 2: crazy Momdani and the city all these crazy schemes. They
- 12:21Speaker 2: want to take Park Avenue. You know the little grass
- 12:23Speaker 2: median in the middle of Park Avenue. They want to
- 12:26Speaker 2: expand those so it's mostly park in the middle of
- 12:28Speaker 2: Park Avenue. Do you know what that would do to
- 12:31Speaker 2: traffic Sixth Avenue. They're talking about adding an extra bus lane,
- 12:35Speaker 2: an extra bike lane, bringing Sixth Avenue down a one
- 12:38Speaker 2: lane two. I mean, it's going to be a nightmare. Now,
- 12:42Speaker 2: the latest plan, we could lose thirty thousand parking spots
- 12:48Speaker 2: because they want to put these instead of trash cans
- 12:52Speaker 2: on the sidewalk, they want to put these big, big,
- 12:55Speaker 2: large bins that are so big they take up almost
- 12:58Speaker 2: a parking space, like a big big bin. Like yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 2: like one of those big bins, you know, like they
- 13:05Speaker 2: use on a construction site. They want to put those
- 13:08Speaker 2: all over New York fifty let me see, sixty six
- 13:13Speaker 2: thousand of them. Sixty six thousand of them, So we
- 13:17Speaker 2: would lose about thirty thousand parking spaces. That sounds bad,
- 13:22Speaker 2: but they're claiming that we have almost two million parking spaces.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I don't know if I believe that. Now they're targeting
- 13:31Speaker 2: certain neighborhoods like the Upper east Side, the Upper west Side.
- 13:34Speaker 2: They'll lose about ten percent of their parking spaces. That's
- 13:38Speaker 2: going to be a big disruption to them. Not easy. Hey, oh,
- 13:44Speaker 2: so we want to thank Barrett Media. Barrett Media is
- 13:47Speaker 2: the bible of the radio industry. They usually have the
- 13:51Speaker 2: Big Summit. This is where all the top radio people
- 13:53Speaker 2: from around the country come to New York Talk Radio. Well,
- 13:57Speaker 2: this year it was big. It was three days one
- 14:00Speaker 2: Talk Radio Summit, Day two, Sports Radio Summit, Day three,
- 14:05Speaker 2: Music Radio Summit. Thousands of people, the top top radio
- 14:10Speaker 2: hosts from all over the country, the top radio executive
- 14:13Speaker 2: from all over the country. I got a big award
- 14:15Speaker 2: Tuesday night. You can check out my Instagram there's pictures there,
- 14:19Speaker 2: or Facebook or Twitter or whatever. And the first it
- 14:24Speaker 2: was all the talk radio all the top talk radio
- 14:25Speaker 2: hosts in America in one room. Do you know what
- 14:28Speaker 2: it was like trying to get a word in in
- 14:30Speaker 2: that room? Thank god, I gotta get to make a speech.
- 14:33Speaker 2: That was the only time I got anybody to listen
- 14:34Speaker 2: to me in that though. It was no it was
- 14:36Speaker 2: a lot of fun. It was great. Uh, just go
- 14:39Speaker 2: to Barrettmedia dot com. They got a lot of pictures
- 14:42Speaker 2: up there, Barrettmedia dot Com pictures videos. You can see
- 14:45Speaker 2: the whole thing up there. Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is
- 14:51Speaker 2: the number. Oh, and we'll get to Taylor, so we'll
- 14:53Speaker 2: talk to the great gossip colmnist Rob Shooter. He'll tell
- 14:56Speaker 2: us exactly what went on there, and we'll take some calls.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Number slugged into everything New York, Mark simone on seven ten, wor.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Hey, we'll take some calls. Eight hundred three to two
- 15:16Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 15:21Speaker 2: to two one zero seven ten. Let's go to uh
- 15:23Speaker 2: Linda and Long Island. Linda. How you doing.
- 15:27Speaker 6: Helle?
- 15:28Speaker 7: You? No?
- 15:29Speaker 2: No, no, it's low and groundy grab no, it's how
- 15:32Speaker 2: are you? It's howie you low?
- 15:35Speaker 8: I'm getting worse.
- 15:36Speaker 6: It's so better. I don't know what happened.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It's low okay and depressing? How how are you?
- 15:46Speaker 6: I have to keep practicing right, but go back?
- 15:50Speaker 8: Okay.
- 15:50Speaker 6: I just want to say, if everybody knows about this
- 15:53Speaker 6: and they talk about it all the time, that stupid
- 15:57Speaker 6: grocery store, that's all that kind of money A tax
- 16:00Speaker 6: payer is a paying for that. How come nobody you
- 16:03Speaker 6: can do anything about to stop him? I mean, won't
- 16:07Speaker 6: do anything.
- 16:07Speaker 2: But he's a lawyer, he's the mayor, and they've loaded
- 16:10Speaker 2: up these city council with a bunch of crazy left
- 16:12Speaker 2: wing coops.
- 16:13Speaker 8: You know.
- 16:13Speaker 2: The funny thing is said, why would you the city
- 16:17Speaker 2: open a grocery store? Well, to get the prices lower
- 16:20Speaker 2: so it doesn't cost as much for people to buy food.
- 16:25Speaker 2: You could fix that tomorrow. Could you could pick certain supermarkets,
- 16:29Speaker 2: certain neighborhoods and lower the cost immediately at them. You
- 16:33Speaker 2: just go to the supermarkets to say, we'd like you
- 16:35Speaker 2: to cut the cost twenty five percent. In exchange, we
- 16:38Speaker 2: will not tax this supermarket. You'll pay no taxes, and
- 16:42Speaker 2: we'll give you a free rent. In fact, if you
- 16:44Speaker 2: did that, they might lower the prices fifty percent. You
- 16:46Speaker 2: could do that tomorrow. You could pick a bunch of
- 16:48Speaker 2: great supermarkets, or you could just pick certain items. We'd
- 16:52Speaker 2: like these items to sell half price in your supermarket.
- 16:55Speaker 2: In exchange, we'll give you tax breaks and rent brakes.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Take twenty four hours to do it, not the three
- 17:02Speaker 2: years he wants to build the supermarket. Let's go to
- 17:05Speaker 2: Stuart in South Carolina. Stuart, how you doing, hey, Mark?
- 17:09Speaker 2: Are you good?
- 17:10Speaker 7: You know, I was at a ballgame the other day.
- 17:12Speaker 7: We've got a beautiful stadium here right on the South
- 17:14Speaker 7: Carolina Georgia line, and I was even surprised. People there
- 17:18Speaker 7: were so angry over Man Downey's speech. I mean they
- 17:22Speaker 7: were talking about this. Yeah, South Carolina, Georgia, we're like
- 17:29Speaker 7: twenty minutes from the Masters and we have a Green
- 17:32Speaker 7: Jackets which is a Braves affiliate, and there were about
- 17:36Speaker 7: four thousand people there and people were outraged. I've been really,
- 17:40Speaker 7: really angry. And we also had a week ago at
- 17:45Speaker 7: Fort Montree had the Battle of Sullivan's Island and the
- 17:47Speaker 7: British had their Royal demonstration team there and their jets
- 17:51Speaker 7: and they flew from England and did several pass passes
- 17:56Speaker 7: with red, white and blue smoke. And the British had
- 17:59Speaker 7: a large tingency there from their five drum corps. They
- 18:03Speaker 7: had speakers. It was absolutely amazing, you know, having so
- 18:06Speaker 7: many Britge.
- 18:07Speaker 4: There celebrating the fourth.
- 18:09Speaker 7: Of July with America. So you know that was pretty cool.
- 18:12Speaker 2: All right, Well, it's good to hear Stuart, thanks for
- 18:15Speaker 2: checking in. Let's go to Robert in Westchester. Robert, how
- 18:18Speaker 2: you doing well?
- 18:20Speaker 8: Mark, Thank you for taking my call. So Mark, the
- 18:23Speaker 8: talking heads on the left now complaining that President Trump
- 18:27Speaker 8: made money during this economy and it was all above board,
- 18:30Speaker 8: all legal. Now, Mark, can you imagine if the economy
- 18:34Speaker 8: was good and he wasn't making money. Oh, look at
- 18:37Speaker 8: this idiot. He can't even make money in this economy.
- 18:40Speaker 8: No matter what they're gonna they're gonna pick up whatever
- 18:42Speaker 8: they can to throw it at him, and then Mundamie
- 18:44Speaker 8: and the city council, they're going to just destroy the
- 18:47Speaker 8: city and the economy is going to go in the toilet.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Now, during the first Trump administration, you know, he actually
- 18:52Speaker 2: lost money. He lost a couple of billion because I
- 18:56Speaker 2: remember a lot of people wouldn't stay at the hotels.
- 18:58Speaker 2: A lot of people boycotted and stuff. But that was hotels, resorts,
- 19:02Speaker 2: that sort of apartment buildings. Now it's crypto and this
- 19:05Speaker 2: sort of stuff. But in recent years, you know, the
- 19:10Speaker 2: four years before he got an office, he checked the record.
- 19:12Speaker 2: He was making billions and billions of dollars then. So
- 19:15Speaker 2: it just continued, let's go to Lesson Queen's less How
- 19:18Speaker 2: you doing, We're doing great.
- 19:20Speaker 8: Thanks for taking my call. I've brought a lot of
- 19:23Speaker 8: media reports about the wedding.
- 19:25Speaker 7: I had one questions.
- 19:26Speaker 8: No one seems that brought up, go ahead, where Kamela?
- 19:29Speaker 7: Where was Kamala Harris Taylor Swift was a very big
- 19:33Speaker 7: fan of rus and supported her.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good question. That's a good question. We'll
- 19:36Speaker 2: ask our expert. He'll be with us in a few minutes.
- 19:38Speaker 2: You're right. Where was Kamala Harris? Why wasn't she invited?
- 19:42Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent, how.
- 19:44Speaker 9: You doing, Good morning, Malk, Good morning Ma. Kamala Harris
- 19:47Speaker 9: never made it back from the winebah ma'am mattress face
- 19:51Speaker 9: Mandami and all his zilk, all those props, those stooges
- 19:56Speaker 9: that he had behind him when he gave that horrible speech.
- 20:00Speaker 9: He always talked. He spoke about how the legal migrants,
- 20:06Speaker 9: the legal immigrants were abused in this country. He never
- 20:10Speaker 9: speaks about the misery that they left behind, why they
- 20:14Speaker 9: came here.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Well, let me give this stupid sol be a story.
- 20:18Speaker 5: My grandfather came here in nineteen twelve when he was
- 20:22Speaker 5: sixteen years old, from Sicily, because my great grandfather on
- 20:28Speaker 5: my mother's side died when he was twelve years old,
- 20:31Speaker 5: and they were fortunate enough to live downhill from our mansion,
- 20:35Speaker 5: very wealthy people, and my grandfather and his brothers used
- 20:40Speaker 5: to go up to the servants' entrance every night and
- 20:43Speaker 5: eat the dregs, the scraps that the servants would give them.
- 20:48Speaker 5: And I remember my grandfather talking about how they looked
- 20:52Speaker 5: forward to Sunday and the holidays because the scraps, the
- 20:57Speaker 5: dregs were much better. My father came here when he
- 21:01Speaker 5: was sixteen, god Off Fella Silent, went to South Philly
- 21:05Speaker 5: before it became the a hole of America, and worked
- 21:09Speaker 5: as a shoemaker's apprentice, and he lived the American dream.
- 21:14Speaker 5: Two weeks before the Great Depression. He bought with his money,
- 21:19Speaker 5: not with the money that the government gave him, not
- 21:22Speaker 5: with free cell phone money, not with free food, free this,
- 21:26Speaker 5: and free that. He bought his first apartment building two
- 21:31Speaker 5: weeks before the Great Depression and started a family dynasty
- 21:36Speaker 5: mark that I till this day are still living off
- 21:40Speaker 5: of many of the things that he created.
- 21:45Speaker 2: About that, no very good, excellent call, Vincent, Thanks for calling.
- 21:49Speaker 2: That's what America is all about. Hey, when we come back,
- 21:52Speaker 2: we'll talk to Rob Shooter, the great columnist, gossip columnist.
- 21:56Speaker 2: We'll talk about Taylor Swift's wedding. We'll talk about all
- 21:58Speaker 2: kinds of things, King Charles, and a whole lot more.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Just ahead on seven to ten. W O R lea
- 22:04Speaker 2: Clive from the w R Life Back Studios. Well, Rob Shooter,
- 22:11Speaker 2: the great writer, columnist, nobody better gossip and entertainment. You
- 22:16Speaker 2: see him all over television. Make sure you follow his substack.
- 22:19Speaker 2: It's very good Rob Shooter on substack. And hey, by
- 22:24Speaker 2: the way, he's got a new novel coming out called
- 22:26Speaker 2: It Started with a Whisper. It's actually already out equal
- 22:29Speaker 2: parts scandal, glamour obsession, and he's with us right now,
- 22:33Speaker 2: Rob Shooter, how you doing?
- 22:35Speaker 4: Hey Mo, my old friend, how are you good to
- 22:37Speaker 4: do with you?
- 22:38Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good. What does this mean? This title?
- 22:41Speaker 2: It started with a whisper.
- 22:43Speaker 4: It's a good title, isn't it. Everything starts with a whisper.
- 22:45Speaker 4: I'm in the gossip business, and gossip starts with that's
- 22:50Speaker 4: having always starts.
- 22:51Speaker 10: And so his novel is a love letter to the
- 22:54Speaker 10: gossip business, the celebrity world that I love so much.
- 22:58Speaker 4: Gossip columnists who get a warning show to talk about
- 23:01Speaker 4: celebrities kind of write the view. However, they quickly become
- 23:05Speaker 4: very aware that the real gossip is not about the stars,
- 23:08Speaker 4: but rather about themselves. Each of them has a secret,
- 23:11Speaker 4: and that secret Mark starts with a whisper.
- 23:13Speaker 2: All right, well, everybody get the book Wall. You just
- 23:15Speaker 2: go to Amazon and get it.
- 23:16Speaker 4: It started, Yeah, Amazon were a best seller around Amazon,
- 23:19Speaker 4: and so a good Beach reed. If you fancy a
- 23:21Speaker 4: gossipy celebrity type book, this beach season by it, I
- 23:25Speaker 4: think you'll like it.
- 23:26Speaker 2: It started with a whisper, Rob Shooter, get the book.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 23:30Speaker 2: The Taylor's Swift wedding. We're hearing now. It classed between
- 23:34Speaker 2: fifteen and twenty million to put it on.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, just a massive one of the biggest
- 23:42Speaker 4: celebrity weddings that I've covered. I've done this for a
- 23:44Speaker 4: long time. I thought Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in
- 23:48Speaker 4: Italy would hold the record for a long forever, but
- 23:51Speaker 4: clearly not Taylor and Travis at least twenty twenty five million,
- 23:56Speaker 4: and then add on top of that, they gave twenty
- 23:59Speaker 4: six million away to charity, so about a fifty million
- 24:02Speaker 4: dollar wedding. I spoke to about three four people who
- 24:06Speaker 4: were there who were invited, and they all had to
- 24:08Speaker 4: sign NDA. So they whispered to me very carefully what
- 24:12Speaker 4: they saw inside, and I said, she turned it into
- 24:15Speaker 4: a literal garden. I get it to Madison Square Garden,
- 24:19Speaker 4: but anyone who's ever been there to see the Nicks
- 24:21Speaker 4: or Billy Joel, no, there's not a lot of flowers
- 24:23Speaker 4: there it's a pretty industrial space, and so she had
- 24:27Speaker 4: it full of flowers and trees and they made it
- 24:30Speaker 4: look this beautiful, magical place. And you know, I think
- 24:33Speaker 4: I get people were saying it sounds tacky, and it does. However,
- 24:37Speaker 4: people that were inside tell me Mark it was magical.
- 24:40Speaker 4: It was absolutely magical.
- 24:43Speaker 2: But it sounds incredibly stupid. If you wanted a garden
- 24:45Speaker 2: with trees, why wouldn't you just go hold the wedding
- 24:48Speaker 2: in a garden with trees.
- 24:54Speaker 4: At the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It was beautiful. A couple
- 24:58Speaker 4: of things here, So a lot of people say it's
- 25:01Speaker 4: about privacy. The garden has no windows, so if you
- 25:03Speaker 4: get married in a place with no windows, annoying people
- 25:06Speaker 4: like me and photographers can't peek in and see what
- 25:09Speaker 4: you're up served. Another reason they did this, though, is
- 25:12Speaker 4: that I don't think the myth of Taylor Swift and
- 25:14Speaker 4: privacy is really accurate. This is somebody who has written
- 25:18Speaker 4: many songs about love and breakups and relationships. So Taylor
- 25:22Speaker 4: is not that private. She puts she's private on her
- 25:25Speaker 4: own terms. She tells you what she wants you to
- 25:28Speaker 4: know when she wants you to know it. There were
- 25:30Speaker 4: cameras Mark inside this wedding. I know a three to
- 25:33Speaker 4: four camera people inside the wedding who filmed it. So
- 25:37Speaker 4: that's why she wanted it to be kept private, because
- 25:40Speaker 4: at some point this could be a streaming, this could
- 25:43Speaker 4: be in the movie theaters, this could be in a
- 25:46Speaker 4: music video. And so Taylor, we will get to see it.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Don't worry, my friends.
- 25:50Speaker 8: We will get to see the dress.
- 25:51Speaker 4: We'll get to see inside, but we'll get to see
- 25:53Speaker 4: it when Taylor sells it to us.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously, if you wanted privacy, you do what the
- 26:00Speaker 2: JFK Junior?
- 26:01Speaker 8: Did?
- 26:01Speaker 7: You go?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Hold it on an island with grass and trees and
- 26:05Speaker 2: nobody can on the island. But hey, so somebody just
- 26:09Speaker 2: asked a good question. All these celebrities, why wasn't Kamala
- 26:12Speaker 2: Harrison invited good question?
- 26:15Speaker 4: Taylor's Taylor's a tricky fox. The biggest question of the wedding.
- 26:20Speaker 4: I spoke to several guests. The biggest question mark was
- 26:23Speaker 4: not like, oh, what amazing dress or what song is
- 26:26Speaker 4: she going to sink? The biggest question that guests were
- 26:28Speaker 4: asking one another is how do you know the bride?
- 26:31Speaker 4: And most of them didn't. It was like when then
- 26:34Speaker 4: when Harry and Megan got married and they invited Oprah
- 26:38Speaker 4: and they invited the cloon Is, and then the cloon
- 26:40Speaker 4: Is were like, we don't really know her, was not
- 26:42Speaker 4: really met her. So there was a tan of celebrities
- 26:44Speaker 4: there who didn't really know Taylor. George seven Knopolis was there.
- 26:48Speaker 4: How did we know Taylor Swift? Jason to Datas, Ted Lasso,
- 26:52Speaker 4: how did he know her? So there was to other
- 26:54Speaker 4: people there. So I think we're there to make the
- 26:57Speaker 4: crowd more exciting, the crowd more for the crowd, more famous.
- 27:00Speaker 4: It was a celebrity wedding. This is not how I
- 27:03Speaker 4: thought Taylor would get married. I thought it'd be low key.
- 27:06Speaker 4: I thought it'd be just family, just people that mean
- 27:08Speaker 4: something to you. This was more of a production than
- 27:11Speaker 4: a wedding. And now we know why because at some
- 27:14Speaker 4: point we're going to see all those famous faces sitting
- 27:17Speaker 4: in the crowd when we're watching.
- 27:18Speaker 2: It on Netflix, and hey, what's wrong with that Stephen Colbert?
- 27:23Speaker 2: I see the pictures of him coming out of the
- 27:24Speaker 2: when he looks so miserable. He looks like it's a
- 27:27Speaker 2: joyous occasion. What is he so serious about?
- 27:30Speaker 4: Well, he's miserable. Because his life fell apart, like what
- 27:32Speaker 4: he was doing, the dream job, and now he's not.
- 27:35Speaker 4: I'm working on a big story about him for my
- 27:38Speaker 4: sub stack. He'll be out in a few days. I'm
- 27:40Speaker 4: working on it.
- 27:41Speaker 8: I hear.
- 27:41Speaker 4: It's just absolutely miserable. But it finally hit him that
- 27:46Speaker 4: he had the greatest job in the world, and he
- 27:47Speaker 4: blew it. And you know, people will have these jobs.
- 27:51Speaker 4: They don't think they're ever going to end. Little secret.
- 27:54Speaker 4: All of our jobs are going to end at some point.
- 27:56Speaker 4: And he was more invested in that than he let on.
- 28:00Speaker 4: He used to pretend that he was like this cool,
- 28:02Speaker 4: chill guy who had a late night show. He loved it.
- 28:04Speaker 4: It was his whole life. And when it gets taken
- 28:07Speaker 4: away from you for pretty good reasons. He was losing
- 28:10Speaker 4: a ton of money. They just don't see it coming.
- 28:13Speaker 4: It's like the Housewives. The housewives never think they're not
- 28:16Speaker 4: going to be a housewives, and they all get fired eventually,
- 28:19Speaker 4: And so cob Ben has to figure out that next chapter.
- 28:22Speaker 4: And it's so easy when you're on TV saying you
- 28:25Speaker 4: want to be a politician or giving your opinions. It's
- 28:28Speaker 4: really difficult when you actually have to do it. So
- 28:30Speaker 4: I don't think he's running for office. I don't think
- 28:33Speaker 4: he's got offered. He thought he'd have everybody offer him
- 28:36Speaker 4: a job on streaming services. None of them have happened, Mark,
- 28:40Speaker 4: And so I think he's like licking, licking his wounds
- 28:42Speaker 4: a little bit, licking his wounds.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Well that's good. Yeah, those Real Housewives, boy, you see him.
- 28:49Speaker 2: You know, if you take just an ordinary citizen, just
- 28:51Speaker 2: a regular put them on television and given fame and attention,
- 28:55Speaker 2: and then you take it away from they're pathetic. They're
- 28:57Speaker 2: on their Instagram trying to create some it's ridiculous, it is.
- 29:03Speaker 4: But I sort of I've got a little bit of
- 29:05Speaker 4: that of me, you know it, Mark, Like I said
- 29:06Speaker 4: it rose Ana Scotto, our friend on Good Day New York,
- 29:09Speaker 4: I said it, When you stop bugging me booking me
- 29:11Speaker 4: on your shirt, it'll be horrible. I'll be so depressed.
- 29:14Speaker 4: I love doing this. It's a real drug, it's a
- 29:17Speaker 4: real high. And a lot of these ladies on the Housewives,
- 29:20Speaker 4: they wanted this all their lives and they never got it,
- 29:23Speaker 4: and then suddenly they became pretty famous, and you're right,
- 29:26Speaker 4: they just can't stop. Definitely Frankel, who's made a ton
- 29:30Speaker 4: of money from the show and selling that Margarita mix
- 29:33Speaker 4: that she makes. She can't help herself. She's always on TikTok.
- 29:37Speaker 4: You gave me that sort of money. I joke that
- 29:40Speaker 4: I'm thirsty, and there's some truth to that. If you
- 29:43Speaker 4: gave me the money definitely made, you'd never see me again.
- 29:46Speaker 4: I'd be on an island. Leave me alone. I'd turn
- 29:49Speaker 4: off my TikToker, turn off my phone. They can't help themselves.
- 29:52Speaker 4: And that's the Colbert problem is that he loved this.
- 29:55Speaker 4: He pretended that he did that. He was just a
- 29:57Speaker 4: regular guy. He loved me in fame. When the show goes,
- 30:02Speaker 4: it does go that fame does disappear.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well, and you make up a good point. When
- 30:07Speaker 2: no other network, nobody in TV is calling you to
- 30:09Speaker 2: hire you, I think that tells.
- 30:11Speaker 8: You not good.
- 30:14Speaker 10: Look at whatever job you have. My friends listening when
- 30:17Speaker 10: you when no one's calling her, it's not good.
- 30:20Speaker 4: It's not good. And you don't realize that how lonely
- 30:24Speaker 4: it can be out there. And the other thing too.
- 30:26Speaker 4: I think a lot of these celebrities, particularly the housewives
- 30:29Speaker 4: and Colbert, they thought other celebrities were their friends. They're
- 30:32Speaker 4: not they're only your friends when you're flying high. That
- 30:35Speaker 4: happens in real life too, doesn't it. When I'm flying high?
- 30:38Speaker 4: Everybody loves me When I get fired, that many people
- 30:42Speaker 4: are returned my goals. And so I think Colbert and
- 30:45Speaker 4: the Housewives are all going through that. And even through
- 30:47Speaker 4: the Taylor Swift wedding, we now realize you look at
- 30:50Speaker 4: these people and you think they're best for Julia Roberts
- 30:53Speaker 4: was there at the tailor wedding. Rhees Willerspoon was at
- 30:56Speaker 4: the tailor wedding. Either one of them really know her,
- 30:59Speaker 4: and she's no longer selling millions of records. They ain't caring,
- 31:03Speaker 4: they're not returning the cause make real friends in life,
- 31:06Speaker 4: because they'll be there for the good times.
- 31:07Speaker 9: I'm the bad.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah, So I guess you sprinkle the crowd with celebrities,
- 31:11Speaker 2: which will help you sell the Netflix special. It'll look
- 31:13Speaker 2: it does help.
- 31:14Speaker 4: It does help, and it helps too, you know, And
- 31:17Speaker 4: that is why politicians do it too. I love those
- 31:19Speaker 4: big conventions every four years and you see the celebrities
- 31:22Speaker 4: of the audience. You're like, are there, And I don't
- 31:25Speaker 4: think it ever gets anybody any more votes. In fact,
- 31:28Speaker 4: it can be a little bit annoying, but having celebrities
- 31:30Speaker 4: sprinkled in a room always helps you. I mean, she's
- 31:33Speaker 4: gonna have no trouble selling this. It's Taylor Swisch and
- 31:35Speaker 4: the biggest star in the world, but he does make
- 31:37Speaker 4: it just a little bit more exciting. I thought it
- 31:38Speaker 4: was really odd too. Is Adam Sandler officiated the wedding.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Nam Travis did make a movie with him, Happy Gilmore too,
- 31:48Speaker 4: But there were other sets for six weeks, not six years.
- 31:52Speaker 4: And suddenly this guy is associating your wedding and he's Jewish.
- 31:57Speaker 8: You know, like, what was it a Jewish So?
- 32:01Speaker 10: I mean, it's all so Hollywood, It's all so weird.
- 32:05Speaker 4: I thought the whole thing would attacking.
- 32:08Speaker 2: He was probably funny officiating, which backs up your theory
- 32:11Speaker 2: they did it for the TV special. It'll be more
- 32:13Speaker 2: entertaining the way he does it.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Friends of mine, friends of mine in the room. He
- 32:16Speaker 4: said to me, it felt like a TV show, and
- 32:18Speaker 4: I felt like they were on a set. It didn't
- 32:19Speaker 4: feel like a wedding. There was love there. I don't
- 32:22Speaker 4: think anyone's doubting that these two are the real deal.
- 32:24Speaker 4: They love each other. All My reporting is that they're
- 32:26Speaker 4: really happy together. But you don't get to be worth
- 32:30Speaker 4: two billion dollars like Taylor Fifth if you are not savvy,
- 32:33Speaker 4: savvy Savvey. She knows what she's doing. She's a great musician,
- 32:37Speaker 4: but she's an even better business woman. She knows how
- 32:40Speaker 4: to make a dollar.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And she'll sell the wedding to Netflix, to somebody for
- 32:43Speaker 2: a fortune, which means the wedding costs nothing. She'll get
- 32:46Speaker 2: all the money back.
- 32:46Speaker 4: And that's what it is, that's how they do it.
- 32:48Speaker 4: It's a lot of money. We started talking about the money,
- 32:52Speaker 4: but she's going to make it all back with this detail.
- 32:54Speaker 4: And I'm sure we're going to get a love album.
- 32:57Speaker 4: I'm sure we're going to get the key chains and
- 32:58Speaker 4: the mugs and the T shirt. It's all cash, Kyle,
- 33:02Speaker 4: and nobody does it well.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Rob Shooter. I hate to say we're out of time,
- 33:06Speaker 2: but we hope we can have you back soon. Now
- 33:09Speaker 2: you follow sign up for Rob Shooter's substack. It's Rob
- 33:14Speaker 2: Shooters Naughty and but nice. Naughty but nice. Rob Shooter
- 33:17Speaker 2: on Substack and again his latest book, his novel It
- 33:21Speaker 2: Started with a whisper. Go to Amazon. It's a great
- 33:24Speaker 2: novel about the glamour and gossip and obsession. It's started
- 33:28Speaker 2: with a whisper Rob Shooter on Amazon. Hey, Rob Shooter
- 33:31Speaker 2: will do it again soon. Thanks for being with us.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Take that, take care. Yeah, we'll have him back. Excellent
- 33:39Speaker 2: guests now, uh, don't forget coming up at noon today,
- 33:43Speaker 2: Buck Sexton, Klay Travis. They do a great show every
- 33:46Speaker 2: day twelve noon uh here on w o R. And
- 33:50Speaker 2: then you know, Curtis is back. It's Curtis Sliwa and
- 33:53Speaker 2: Larry MENTI Curtis and Larry every morning six to ten
- 33:56Speaker 2: on seven ten WR. If you're listening on the iHeartRadio app,
- 34:01Speaker 2: save time and tap the preset button. Now. Now back
- 34:05Speaker 2: to the Mark Simon Show on WOR. Well he remember
- 34:13Speaker 2: Mom Donnie was back in those two candidates, those two
- 34:16Speaker 2: crazy communist socialist congressional candidates. So apparently Mom Donnie's people
- 34:22Speaker 2: called The View, the ABC TV show The View, and
- 34:26Speaker 2: asked to bring them on, these two crazy candidates, and
- 34:31Speaker 2: the View said no, said no. You know, we're currently
- 34:34Speaker 2: being looked at by the FCC. We're trying to get
- 34:37Speaker 2: approval as a news show. Apparently they're very worried about

- 34:56Speaker 2: them right now, so they were a little afraid of that,
- 34:58Speaker 2: so they turned Mom Donnie down. All right, Well that's interesting,
- 35:02Speaker 2: so you may see more changes at the View.
