- 0:30Welcome into the tree House. It's time to leave your worries outside and join
- 0:35me. Dan, O'Malley and Trey trend home today inside the tree House.
- 0:43And before we get too deep into the tree house, want to mention our
- 0:48very dear friends and new sponsors of the Treehouse the Dallas Comedy Club. Yes,
- 0:52the Dallas Comedy Club where this week you can see make sure I keep
- 0:59calling her by a different name. I'm not sure why I keep doing that,
- 1:00but I want to make sure I get it correct here. So this
- 1:04Friday and Saturday at the Dallas Comedy Club you can see Jin Cobert Jen Cobert.
- 1:12She has made numerous appearances on TV shows. She's been on Netflix,
- 1:21HBO, Disney Plus. She was on Disney Channels hit series Bunked. She's
- 1:26also in one of season three episode of The Mandalorian on Disney Plus. And
- 1:33she is in Dallas this weekend Friday and Saturday, October sixth and seventh at
- 1:38the Dallas Comedy Club Bar. Ticket info Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot com.
- 1:42That's Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot com. And I'll say this, you know
- 1:51it's a great spot. It's not just a like comedy club it's a great
- 1:53bar, great patio. It's you know, if if you're down in deep
- 1:59Elm, go check it out. It really is. It's a cool spot.
- 2:01It's one of the few places in deep Ellam where I actually want to
- 2:05go. Yeah, and there aren't many right now. And the good thing
- 2:09is it's kind of on the edge, so if you need to, you
- 2:14can escape deep Ellham quickly from Dallas Comedy Club. And it's also, unlike
- 2:22a lot of places down there, it has parking close by. Yes it
- 2:27does. Dallas dash Comedy Club dot com for all the ticket info and for
- 2:31info on other shows happening at the Dallas Comedy Club. So, as I
- 2:38mentioned, we are rag less today. There's a reason for that, and
- 2:47it has to do with hives. That sounds bad. It does. It
- 2:53does sound bad. And it gave me the opportunity to do a little internet
- 2:58sleuthing because I I am a nerd. I love to research. I love
- 3:02to look things up. I like to learn things, especially if I have
- 3:07a preconceived notion about something already. I want to see if the thought in
- 3:12my head is accurate. You know, two facts right, So I go
- 3:15where everybody else finds facts. These days, and that's the Internet because it's
- 3:19always trusty. Because my thought was, I'm pretty sure hives are not contagious,
- 3:25so I type that into to the internet. I just simply asked,
- 3:31our hives contagious? You want to know the answer? I got Trey,
- 3:37Yes, I'm curious. Hives are itchy welts, often triggered by an allergic
- 3:40reaction. Some bacteria or viruses can also cause hives, which can be contagious
- 3:46and spread. Total time forty minutes, servings two. I have no idea
- 3:57how an explanation of high ives somehow mashed up against a recipe. But I'm
- 4:03really kind of scared that someone out there is gonna bake a hive pie and
- 4:08be really really shocked and disappointed at the results. Have you ever known anyone
- 4:15that gets hives? I don't think so. It's i X that would get
- 4:24them, like they were stress induced for the most part, and but it's
- 4:30like people who get them bad they are. I mean it's not just one
- 4:34you get them. They get all over the place and they're painful. I
- 4:38mean it's like like, yeah, they look like infected pimples and like they're
- 4:46you know, like yeah, well, I mean there's the poblem No,
- 4:50you're not supposed to like you try to just not it's them and put appointment
- 4:56and stuff or take medication it shoulderinly like steroids will help knock them out.
- 5:00It. Uh, they very uncomfortable if you get them or if you're you're
- 5:05dating someone who has them. Oh yeah, I would imagine because you really
- 5:11can't touch them. Then the Okay, So from what I just read,
- 5:15they can be caused by bacteria. They can also be caused by virus or
- 5:18like you're saying, Trey, you can also just you can just break out
- 5:21into hives from stress. Stress. Totally get that. I am I am
- 5:27shocked that from the years two thy sixteen through twenty twenty one, that's five
- 5:34years of my radio life that I am shocked. I didn't break out into
- 5:39hives. I did have ulcers, multiple multiple ulcers, and I didn't tell
- 5:45everybody that at the time, But for five years while working at iHeartRadio on
- 5:49ninety seven one The Eagle twenty sixteen to twenty twenty one, and if you
- 5:53were a follower of the show at that time, you have an idea of
- 5:56what was going on in that time frame. I had ulcers multi to pulls
- 6:00of them and it was excruciating. Now I can't even so now I feel
- 6:04lucky that I didn't have hives as well. I mean, ulcers, I
- 6:11would definitely think are the worst of the two. And I've thank you Trey.
- 6:15I appreciate that I empathize and I can't. I know some of what
- 6:18you went through, and ulcers seem like, you know, on the light
- 6:24end of what could have happened with that amount of rest. Well, I
- 6:28mean, if we're being honest, I came out pretty good compared to everybody
- 6:30else at that time. Yeah. Absolutely, not that I'm keeping score,
- 6:34I'm just being mindful. So so something about hives. Rag not here today.
- 6:41That's okay. He's had a I'm not sure if it's actual hives or
- 6:45if it's that's just code for hangover. Because Raj has had himself a big
- 6:49weekend, so he did shows over the over the end of last week into
- 6:55the weekend with one of his comedy brethren, Russell Now. Russell Peters is
- 7:00one of those guys that is not widely known in America compared to some of
- 7:05his contemporaries, but he is massive on the international stage and This is a
- 7:12guy that at one point I believe he's sold out, even though I'm going
- 7:15to say this is related to America. He sold out Madison Square Garden like
- 7:18two or three nights in a row years ago. But he's he's really really
- 7:25popular overseas Canada, especially India. But he's not on that same level as
- 7:31like a Bill Burr or Louis E. K was at one point. He's
- 7:35not a Carlin type but extremely successful. Was a huge deal for Roger Bill
- 7:39to open up for him, who were happy that he got to do that,
- 7:42and then doing an additional show in Hill Country as well, and then
- 7:46I guess, you know, running head first into a hive pile. I
- 7:50don't know. Weird things happen in and around Austin, as Trey Well knows.
- 7:58That's why they say it keep Austin weird. It just it's not hard.
- 8:05Weird stuff happens down there. Do you think enough weird stuff still happens
- 8:09down there? Or is it too homogenized now with mid rise apartment buildings and
- 8:13Dell employees. I think yeah, no, I've I think any weirdness left
- 8:20in Austin is you know, marketed and sold. I was I was fortunate
- 8:28enough. I was when I I was there in the mid nineties. That
- 8:31is when the keep Austin Weird movement sprung up. And at the time,
- 8:37Austin was, you know, austound less than half a million people, and
- 8:41there was this big push, but everyone was starting to realize it was this
- 8:45little gym in Texas because you know, of everything around it, it's it's
- 8:50not like any other city in Texas. For what has water, it has
- 8:52hills, and so people were starting in. Austin was doing everything it could
- 9:00to keep people from moving there. It was like, we want to keep
- 9:03it small, keep Austin weird. Well what they figured out is that's fine.
- 9:07You can keep you know, you can keep the businesses out. I
- 9:09mean, and they did with a bunch of different tech companies. Well all
- 9:13those tech companies did is because Flugerville and round Rock and everything around Austin more
- 9:18than happy to take your money. And so basically what you got is all
- 9:22the people moving, you know, to these different you know, they've moved
- 9:26to Austin, they may be working in Basstrop. So Austin grew and they
- 9:30didn't get any of the tax benefits anything. And but yeah, now,
- 9:33it's just it's so overpriced it's ridiculous. And so that's the weird thing about
- 9:37Austin now, is everything's overpriced. Oh it's it's Dallas has gone up a
- 9:48lot, and Austin makes Dallas look cheap, and Dallas hates that cinement by
- 9:52the way, Yeah it's Dallas with its implants and fake lips, goes,
- 9:56Hey, nothing about this was cheap. Yeah, there is. There is
- 10:05one other piece of information that Trey and I would like to share with you
- 10:07today that I was hoping that Rag should be here for for this special little
- 10:11announcement, but he's not. That's okay, He's going to be a part
- 10:13of it going forward, and that is a few weeks ago, we branched
- 10:20out and started the Treehouse Football Podcast, and that's been a lot of fun
- 10:24because it gives us an outlet to talk about the Cowboys and lament about our
- 10:28sports woes and things and make fun of sports as well, because that's something
- 10:31we enjoy. To that end of branching out, we decided that we haven't
- 10:37branched out enough yet because I guess we still have too much goddamn free time
- 10:43on our hands. So we decided to branch out just a little bit more.
- 10:46So here's what's happening. You now have the opportunity to listen watch more
- 10:56of the show, meaning we also want more of your money. Seeing is
- 11:01how we're not taking any of your money. That's a pretty good deal until
- 11:05now. So what we're doing is we're offering up. We are now joining
- 11:07Patreon. You go to Patreon dot com slash Treehouse on Air and there is
- 11:13the opportunity, the opportunity for you to join Treehouse Plus. Treehouse Plus is
- 11:20coming with more content for you. Because we've had a number of people say,
- 11:26hey, when are you going to go to a daily show. I
- 11:28want more shows, I want more Treehouse and that's been phenomenal and we appreciate
- 11:31it. The biggest hurdle to those things is time, whether or not we
- 11:37have enough time to actually sit down and get come together and do these things.
- 11:41And now we feel comfortable enough to say that, yeah, I think
- 11:45we can handle this. So what you can do is go to Patreon dot
- 11:48com slash Treehouse on Air and there you can join Treehouse Plus for five dollars
- 11:54per month. And for that five dollars per month, you might be wondering
- 11:58well, okay, Dan, what do I get? Glad you asked join
- 12:03Treehouse Plus and you will receive weekly ad free bonus shows. So this isn't
- 12:09the shows we already do what the AD's taken out that you get to listen
- 12:11to. No, this is a whole additional show per week ad free for
- 12:18your ears and or your eyes. And I mentioned your eyes because we're going
- 12:22to shift the YouTube channel to where you can get the first segment for free
- 12:28on YouTube. But if you want the other segments of the full show,
- 12:33then you need to go join the Patreon Treehouse Plus. That's where you will
- 12:37get the full show video access and a Treehouse Podcast sticker after you remember for
- 12:43the three months because we have to pay for the sticker. That's how that
- 12:45works. So you can do that right now. Patreon dot com slash treehouse
- 12:48on Air five bucks a month. You get a weekly ad free bonus show,
- 12:52a full show video access, and a Treehouse Podcast sticker all for joining
- 12:58Treehouse Plus. And depending on how that goes, Trey and I we're talking
- 13:03about it before we hit record today. We have ideas for other stuff that
- 13:07could come very soon after to add into Treehouse Plus options. So there you
- 13:13have it very exciting hand if we're being honest, if you want us to
- 13:20continue with you know, this show and this podcast. It helps support us,
- 13:24I mean, and gives us the means to do more, because it
- 13:28turns out, even though treys Chihuahwa Daisy is only like three pounds, she
- 13:31eats like a six pounder. So we got to keep her fed. That's
- 13:35the main thing. Is she anywhere near you right now? No, she's
- 13:39she's she's down in her bed. That's okay, because I have an idea
- 13:43now for a marketing campaign for our Treehouse Plus program and that is simply a
- 13:48logo of Daisy's face where it just says feed me. Yeah, Sarah mcaslin
- 13:56song in the background, just Daisy, just like I'm so hungry and wouldn't
- 14:01you like to feed Daisy? Well, for five dollars a month, you
- 14:05can help feed Daisy. And that's a massive, massive thing that we would
- 14:09appreciate here in the treehouse. Meanwhile, my dogs are looking at me going
- 14:13like what about me? Like okay, So a very exciting time to be
- 14:22in the treehouse with the opportunity to be in it. More's the that's the
- 14:26big takeaway from this is we are going to be adding at least one show
- 14:31per week, and Trey also had the idea of, you know, we're
- 14:33enjoying doing that Treehouse Football podcast, so maybe what we do is we do
- 14:37an additional one of those and an additional Treehouse show. So there's gonna be
- 14:43all sorts of stuff. It's gonna be it's gonna be kind of liquid for
- 14:46a little while because we're just getting this off the ground. So if there's
- 14:50things that you want, send it to us, let us know. We
- 14:52can put those things into this program and build it out however you want.
- 14:56So as much as we are going to stay independent in a way, we're
- 15:01gonna kind of be working for you now. So this is your kind of
- 15:07your opportunity to tell us what to do. That may be an option down
- 15:09the line. Not yet, We're not. We're not going that crazy to
- 15:11start, but the opportunity might be there sometime very soon. So please go
- 15:16to Patreon dot com slash Treehouse on Air to join the Treehouse Plus program for
- 15:22five dollars a month. Again, you get that bonus ad free episode each
- 15:26week, also the full video show access, and a Treehouse Podcast sticker.
- 15:33After three months trade to you. Uh, you control your mom's credit cards?
- 15:41Oh gosh, Uh what a perfectly I think she should be. I
- 15:46think she should join the treehouse. Yeah, yeah, that's a i'll when
- 15:54she gets her new ones because someone This is just one of the pitfalls of
- 15:58how older parents of I don't know what she clicked on. I have no
- 16:04idea, but she's in the process of getting all new credit cards because she
- 16:08clicked on something and all of a sudden, someone who was eating well on
- 16:14door dash and cash apping themselves money. Oh did she accidentally marry a Nigerian
- 16:21prince? That? I am not sure. They're they're the authorities are looking
- 16:26into it. But are they looking hard or is it kind of like important
- 16:33stuff? Actually there? You know, in the realm of stupid criminal don't
- 16:40have door dash delivered just yes, that actually makes a lot of sense in
- 16:48the world of stupid criminals. If you're going to steal somebody's credit card information
- 16:52and order yourself door dash, don't have it delivered to your house. No,
- 16:57I have it delivered to your enemy's house and just be standing out front
- 17:00and you go, oh, yeah, that's mine. Yeah, don't have
- 17:04it delivered to your house. That's uh, that does give they do have
- 17:11a reason to come knocking on your door at that point. Yeah, at
- 17:12that point then it really is easy for the police to go, Okay,
- 17:15they're just asking us to come arrest them. Now, just we kind of
- 17:18we feel we feel obligated to go it. Just do it now. Yeah.
- 17:22The added benefit though, would it be if the police wait for them
- 17:25to order for their next order and it's the police that show up with the
- 17:27food. Yeah, oh that is anyways. Yeah, so I kind of
- 17:37do actually have control of her cards and she will definitely subscribe. That's awesome,
- 17:41that's great to hear. Or you know what the police could do,
- 17:44and this would be way worse, is if they take your mom's door dash
- 17:47order to the criminals house. Is instead of dropping off the food, they
- 17:51drop off your mother this is yours now. Yeah, you're listening to the
- 18:04Treehouse. Visit us online that Treehouse on air dot com time not a visit
- 18:14with Rodney Anderson inside the Treehouse's phone number nine seven to fifty two hundred,
- 18:18the website Rodney Anderson dot com. No, Rodney, I know we've talked
- 18:22a lot over the years about how important it is for a buyer to be
- 18:26preapproved before going into the housing market. But why is it also important to
- 18:30this seller. We'll think about this day and you've sold a house before,
- 18:33and all of a sudden, when you're selling a house, you've got to
- 18:37pack all your items, You've got to call the utility companies, you've got
- 18:41to call the movers, you got to find another house, You've got to
- 18:44find and your life is turned upside down with a lot of stress. Well,
- 18:48if a buyer is not fully approved from a great lender, the seller
- 18:52retains even more to more stress. And the reason being is just imagine you're
- 18:56ready to close on your house and your lender is not ready. You're ready,
- 19:00the buyer's ready, but the lender's not ready. And so sellers more
- 19:04importantly need to look at these pre approval letters. Who are they from?
- 19:07Are they from good local lenders? Are they are they're not out of state
- 19:11lenders that you've done research on that have bad reputations. So it's really important
- 19:17to the seller to look at all those pre approval letters if there's multiple offers
- 19:21and say, is this somebody that could buy my house that I trust that
- 19:23I'm going to spend thousands of dollars to move out of my place just to
- 19:27get my life turned upside down by some buyer that is not working with the
- 19:30right lender. Yeah. The way I look at it is it's sort of
- 19:33like if you're the buyer and you're not pre approved, it's like being caught
- 19:37with your pants down. No one wants that, especially the sellers. So
- 19:40give Rodney and his team macall. They will help you get your pants up.
- 19:41Nine seven two nine eight five fifty two hundred. That's nine seven two
- 19:45nine eighty five fifty two hundred and Rodney Anderson dot com and if in Lending
- 19:48is an equal housing lender three thousand Village Parkway, Suite four hundred, Higland
- 19:52Village, Texas and MLS two three two nine. This weekend at the Dallas
- 19:55Comedy Club. From the Righteous Gemstones and the Mandalorian. It's Jinkober and it's
- 20:00your last night here. I want to spend some time with you tonight.
- 20:03I'm not gonna take my pill. I'm gonna stay up and watch TV with
- 20:07you. It's like, oh my god, what are you gonna do with
- 20:11that pill? That's jin Cober. This Friday and Saturday at the Dallas Comedy
- 20:18Club. You're new home for comedy in DFW. Get your tickets right now
- 20:21at Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot com. That's Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot com.
- 20:26The Dallas Comedy Club. Funny happens here. It's the Treehouse. You're
- 20:34visit us online at Treehouse OnAir dot com. This segment of the Treehouse is
- 20:41brought to you by our dear dear friends at Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration.
- 20:48That's Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration. Their phone number, Oh, actually their
- 20:53phone number eight three three Cook DFW. That's eight three three Cook DFW.
- 21:00Give Cooked FW a coffee or free roof inspection or the website Cook dfw dot
- 21:04com. So I'm guessing, then, Trey, that the SMU camp has
- 21:12heard about the Treehouse plus roll out and decided to go out and party this
- 21:17weekend. Yes, yes, yes, they were all very excited and uh
- 21:22it was. It was quite the weekend, because quite the weekend at the
- 21:26Standard poor for you, at the Standard poor at so next door to us,
- 21:30there's a club called Theory and yeah, Theories an anomaly of clubs.
- 21:33It's been around for over a decade. Clubs usually come and go and they
- 21:37have a two year, three year lifespan, but incredibly popular. And so
- 21:42the phenomenon this weekend that I was so perplexing is and it started Friday night
- 21:51watching, you know, and when it gets busy, it literally it's just
- 21:55uber left. I mean, you know, all every black urban and Dallas
- 22:00it seems like he's dropping people off. And I was out there talking to
- 22:03our security guy just watching the fiasco and like you started seeing this this phenomenon
- 22:08of like this black suburban pulls up, door opens, hot blonde, hot
- 22:12blonde, hot brunette, hot blonde, old guy. Now I say old
- 22:18guy. My age yep, mid late forties, so not old because we're
- 22:22in that age range, but too old to be hanging out with SMU co
- 22:26eds. Yes, I mean enough of an age difference where people are going
- 22:32to raise an eyebrow and go, hmm, what you do in there,
- 22:34buddy? Right exactly, And and you know, I'm looking at this guy
- 22:47and I'm going, all right, like they get out, I'm going,
- 22:51hey, good on you. And then they're going to Theory. And Theory
- 22:53is a club, I mean a club club. And you know, parents
- 22:59weekend back, you know, and Austin, Yeah, we take our parents,
- 23:02they go to the bar, but you're not taking them to where You're
- 23:04taking them to the place where you know you go for dinner and a cocktail.
- 23:07You're not going to the hardcore sixth Street where you know everyone is s
- 23:12faced, and you're showing your parents the dirty you know, really what they're
- 23:15paying for while your college careers and cocaine eggs, yeahs. And so then
- 23:25I realized it's parents weekend at SMU, and these old guys are the dads,
- 23:30and they're going with their daughters to this club. Okay, first of
- 23:34all, you yeah. Second of all, kind of like you're saying,
- 23:38Trey, all right, okay, because you're assuming one of those girls is
- 23:44his daughter. For all we know, he had mom and daughter go do
- 23:48something else and he's like, what are your friends doing tonight? That's it.
- 23:53Either it leads to one or two things of you're going to find out
- 23:57way too much about what your daughter is actually doing, because although she may
- 24:03be acting, you know right, you're only a fool if you think,
- 24:07all you know, everyone else, she's not doing normally what everyone else is
- 24:11doing, which is bad things, you know. Or next parent's weekend is
- 24:19going to be really awkward, as you know, you're the dad and the
- 24:23boyfriend of the roommate, right, yeah, exactly, Okay, that is
- 24:33that is an interesting thing. I have you I've I've I never you know,
- 24:36you know me. I went to UTA, you know, ut Arlington.
- 24:40It's back then, and I think, for the most part, still
- 24:44is known as a commuter school. I guess it has more of an on
- 24:47campus presence than it used to. But yeah, when I was in school
- 24:51there for a whole year and a half, I think I knew two people
- 24:55that lived on campus, and I was it. I went to one of
- 24:56the dorms one time. The rest of the stuff, it was usually spent
- 25:00at, you know, an eye hoop around the corner, or a waffle
- 25:06house or something like that where if you did a study group there was thing
- 25:08was on I doubt it's still there because the stadium at and T Stadium may
- 25:14have affected it. If I remember correctly, it was called the pit Grill
- 25:17on Collins. I think it would have been across the street from where AT
- 25:22and T Stadium is now. I have not gone back recently to see if
- 25:26it's still there, but that was the other place I would occasionally go to
- 25:30meet up with a study group. So yeah, there was not a whole
- 25:33lot of parents weekend Shenanigan's happening at at Uta. Well, it just all
- 25:41the girls going out to this club. I mean they are decked out and
- 25:48most of them in very little clothing number one, I mean short skirts.
- 25:52You know, they're all it's all in fashion, but it shows a lot
- 25:56of skin and it's just got to be awkward if you're with you your daughter
- 26:00watching because you at a certain point, you know what you were like in
- 26:04college, and then you're watching this and you're going, yeah, my daughter's
- 26:10doing bad things. That's if that's if that old dude has that mindfulness within
- 26:18him, because what is more than likely the scenario is he is just either
- 26:26not capable of thinking about it, or he has become a jedi at blocking
- 26:30it out to where he can still have fun with her friends and not think
- 26:33about what she's doing, because if he was to open his mind just a
- 26:36little bit, he would then realize that if he's doing that with her friends,
- 26:41then she's doing that with those girls dads. Yeah, or maybe there
- 26:47is an element of delusion, And I mean I have known, you know,
- 26:51girls in the past that had their dads snowed thinking they were just an
- 26:55angel and maybe, you know, it's what maybe maybe it's a well played
- 26:59ruse by who you know daughter that was because she's going, yeah, I'm
- 27:02gonna act, you know, I'm gonna stick by my dad and just go,
- 27:04oh, I can't believe these girls. I'm so sorry. I can't
- 27:07believe these girls are doing this. I would never do that, and he
- 27:10believes it, and really does he know that? You know, next weekend
- 27:12she's blowing rails in the bathroom. Well, yeah, yeah, I was
- 27:21actually thinking as you're saying that, as the daughters telling dad, Dad,
- 27:23I can't believe they do this. I would never do that. On the
- 27:26other side of him, one of her friends is feeling him down. Yeah
- 27:30that's he's like, it's going, I hope you're not. Yeah, Daughter's
- 27:34going I would never do that, and her friend's going, I would.
- 27:38I'm doing it right now. It turns out theories a dark club. No.
- 27:47I, like I said, since I never had the parents weekend,
- 27:48I never, I never, I can't identify with that, but I can
- 27:53certainly put myself in those situations, you know, because I'm fairly good at
- 27:57empathy. So I'm also now thinking, I wonder if there's like a trade
- 28:03off, like like one dad says, Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna take
- 28:08out your friends tonight, and then another dad takes no. I don't think
- 28:11they would do that because it would be like trading daughters, and that'd be
- 28:14odd. Yeah, it'd be a little awkward. I'll tell you. The
- 28:17other thing that was just comical. Do you remember, I mean, honestly,
- 28:22it's as a reference the movie PCU, but it just in general.
- 28:27If you think of a fraternity guy, like a I dressed up fraternity guy,
- 28:33what what would you think his outfit would be? From PCU or today's
- 28:38standards, it's from PCU. Ah, well from PCU. That was they
- 28:45were really good at segmenting all the clicks. So they are all dressed completely
- 28:48different than the David Spade, Yeah, where he's wearing the suit and the
- 28:52tie and he's the super preppy. Yeah, it's always the khaki's blue blazer
- 28:57tie. Yeah. So that and that's that's how it is now. You
- 29:04know, I didn't realize it, but evidently so, because you know,
- 29:07that's how one of the reasons we figured out it was parents weekend is then
- 29:11all the guys were in their fraternity best blue blazer, Kaki's white shirt.
- 29:19It really looked like something out of PCU. What a bunch of nerds.
- 29:26I say that, I think you were into fraternity. So did you ever
- 29:27have that moment like when it was parents' weekend and you threw your blazer on
- 29:30or something? No? We we, I mean we were kind of the
- 29:34animal house of ut So no, the fact that your parents showed up and
- 29:38you were wearing pants was a step in the right direction pretty much, you
- 29:41know, and Parents' weekend, everyone get dressed Parents weekend. You know.
- 29:47Our biggest thing was we had one one guy, he was like six eight
- 29:51and but Eve's just had a proclivity to get drunk and take his clothes off,
- 29:56And our biggest struggle was keeping him from running around in just a pair
- 30:03of chaps because he got drunk and thought it was really funny just to make
- 30:07everyone else uncomfortable. So in your fraternity you had your very own frank the
- 30:11tank. Yes, actually of them, and when it was Parents' weekend,
- 30:17all at once they all say let's let's go strinking. Yes, at that
- 30:23point, I'm really glad. I didn't stay on campus at Uta because because
- 30:30of a bunch of the people that went to Uta, me included you didn't
- 30:32want to see streaking across campus. Yeah. Yeah, the guy the guys
- 30:37who always you always had to watch out were the ones whose parents didn't show
- 30:40up and they just really didn't care because then they can wreck your parents' weekend,
- 30:44yes, or or worse. It's like you're worried. You're worried about
- 30:48what dads are doing to their daughter's friends. What if? What if your
- 30:52fraternity brother whose parents aren't there, is more focused on, you know,
- 30:55what he wants to do to your mom? Yeah? They would too,
- 31:02wouldn't they? Ooh, yeah, you're listening to the Treehouse visit goes online
- 31:14That Treehouse on air dot com eight three three Cook DFW as the phone number
- 31:26to reach Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration the website Cook dfw dot
- 31:30com. So, Daniel, I'm gonna put you on the spot real quick.
- 31:33My question for you today is what kind of roof do you have at
- 31:37your house? I have a Class four architectural shingle roof to design to help
- 31:42me keep the home better. Cheaper insurance premiums and it's just a much better
- 31:49product overall. So these are these are a nice quality shingle that anybody can
- 31:55install on their homes. They do lawyer insurance premiums based on what insurance you
- 31:59have. It could be anywhere from ten all the way up to thirty percent.
- 32:02So if you have a homeowner's policy that's you know, three four thousand
- 32:07dollars, you potentially could be saving a ton of money every year by getting
- 32:10a nice Class four shingle. And the upgrade cost is so minimal. We're
- 32:15talking you know, maybe a thousand dollars on a whole roof project that costs
- 32:20you know, twenty five thousand, So the investment is pennies on the dollar.
- 32:24It holds up so much better and everybody, you know, this is
- 32:29one product that you can definitely get the benefit from. In Texas, we
- 32:31all know we have a ton of hailstorms, but not all of them are
- 32:34large enough to game at your roof, and especially with a Class four shingle.
- 32:37And that is why I put Daniel Cook on the spot, because I
- 32:40know he knows his stuff. So give Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and
- 32:45Restoration a call. Eight three three Cook DFW or Cooke dfw dot com is
- 32:52online that treehouse on a dot com. Let's get Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing into
- 32:57the treehouse now two one, four, three six eight thirty eight thirty yate
- 33:00the website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. I've enjoyed seeing your family on these
- 33:05spots, Jacqueline. I love that you still have your mom with you there.
- 33:07I know working with family can be difficult and it can be trying on
- 33:10somebody's patients. But the good news is with Brooks Plumbing, when someone calls
- 33:15you, you guys actually respond pretty quickly, no matter what sort of in
- 33:17fighting is happening with the family. That was true. I had a phone
- 33:22call from two different insurance suggesters yesterday where they were like, can you please
- 33:25please please go today? And I'm like, you understand, it's like two
- 33:29thirty in the afternoon, and we technically stop at five. We'll keep going,
- 33:31but that's not the point. And it was interesting because we were not
- 33:35fighting in this house in this office. Rather, we're not in a house,
- 33:37but we weren't fighting in this office. But I had the technicians in
- 33:42a house and they started running the water because they were looking for a leak,
- 33:45and the mom of the house came running upstairs. Who the f is
- 33:47running the water? And she thought it was her sons, but it was
- 33:52the plumbers, and so they ended up wall paper to the wall, just
- 33:55out of sheer fear. And then she rounded the corner and saw two grown
- 34:00men and was like, oh, never mind, and she ferried down the
- 34:04stairs as if she had wings. Everything is fine. So it's not isolated
- 34:07to our office. We're used to sometimes seeing dirty houses. Were used to
- 34:12sometimes seeing families fight. If you need us, it's a stressful time.
- 34:16So if you've got the drama, we can handle it. All the plumbing,
- 34:21none of the judgment. Just called Brooks Plumbing two one four three six

- 34:57two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight. Fo and all of
- 35:00your plumbing once and needs pulled Brooks Plumbing to one four six eight thirty eight
- 35:07thirty eight or the website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. That is Brooks Plumbing
- 35:13Texas dot com. Trey, I'm I'm not sure of your sexual activity lately,
- 35:21but I wanted to based on that chuckle, I'm I'm guessing it's not
- 35:28superactive, you know what. It's actually a good thing, Trey, that
- 35:35you're going through a bit of a dry spell because there's there's a new epidemic
- 35:39going on all right. So now that all the lockdowns have ceased now for
- 35:46a while, everyone's been unleashed back into the world, which now means the
- 35:51United States is in the midst of an out of control STD epidemic, with
- 35:54cases of syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia on the rise nationwide. Hid The
- 36:00CDC says Gunnery A case is spiked by twenty eight percent across the country in
- 36:07twenty twenty one, with total syphilis cases soaring by a staggering seventy four percent.
- 36:12Now that's what I call it. Comeback. Yeah. However, not
- 36:15all American areas are experiencing the same rates of infection. So there's new data
- 36:21by US News and World Report revealing the ten states with the highest STD rates.
- 36:29M yeah, I'm gonna see if you notice a theme among these states.
- 36:35Okay, all right, I'm gonna I'm gonna actually, you know what,
- 36:37hang on it. I'm so I can find this real quick. You
- 36:39hang on and hang on. Yeah, Okay, I'm gonna let you guess.
- 36:49I'm gonna see if you can guess the top ten states with the highest
- 36:52STD rates in the nation. All right, Pennsylvania, No, Alabama number
- 37:08six, all right? Uh alright, uh, then Louisiana number two.
- 37:21All right, all right, we'll go in the middle of Mississippi number one.
- 37:30Really. Yeah, oh, I was because I honestly, I just
- 37:35assumed that Florida would be number one, you know what, you would.
- 37:38But this is one of those random times where Florida did not make the top
- 37:43ten. Really, because I know, I am I'm stunned because you know
- 37:45what, Maybe it's because the entire state is labeled as one as one STD
- 37:52that's well, because I know, I know, I saw something not too
- 37:58long ago about how the you know, STD rate and seniors was through the
- 38:05roof in Florida. I have seen that over the years that there is there
- 38:09are conversations that we need to be having with our parents. Yeah, all
- 38:15right, So so far you've got number one, Mississippi, number two,
- 38:20Louisiana number six, Alabama all right, Georgia number seven. All right,
- 38:29seeing if you're I feel like you're starting to pick up on the theme here.
- 38:31All right, let's go South Carolina number four. Let us see say
- 38:38it again. Let's see Tennessee. No, No, Tennessee, they're they're
- 38:43they're too clean. Arkansas number eighth. Texas, thank god. That's the
- 38:55first thing I look for when I see like things like this with top ten
- 39:00states of whatever and it's something bad, I always look at it and think,
- 39:02please God, not Texas. Oklahoma. Nope. North Carolina, yes,
- 39:14number ten, North Carolina, all right, number nine. So there
- 39:17you've pretty much got almost every state in the SEC is represented. That's I
- 39:23was just thinking that. I was like, that's the whole SEC. Yeah.
- 39:27Yeah, So I mean, if you're if you're part of the Big
- 39:29twelve, and maybe you're a ut recruiter. This is one of the things
- 39:31you show to a young recruit to get them to go to your school instead
- 39:37of the SEC. Yeah, it's like, yeah, you might get drafted
- 39:39in the NFL, but you're also going to have syphilis. Our hors are
- 39:44clean. Man. If that's not the next visit Texas campaign and m's recruiting
- 39:57would go through the roof, that would be good too, because then you
- 40:02have something else to do besides the core. Yeah. So the you got
- 40:07Mississippi, you got Louisiana. What is number three is the northernmost state of
- 40:14the United States, Maine unattached to the states, Oh, Alaska, there
- 40:22you go. Number four was South Carolina, which you got. Number five
- 40:25is one of the very few north of the Mason Dixon that is South Dakota.
- 40:30Number six you got. That was Alabama. Number seven was Georgia that
- 40:34you got. Number eight was Arkansas that you got. And the only other
- 40:37state not in the SEC but still south of the Mason Dixon was New Mexico
- 40:42at number nine and number ten you got in North Carolina. So it's pretty
- 40:47interesting when you when you look at some of these numbers as well. Seven
- 40:52of the ten states with the highest rates were located below the Mason Dixon As
- 40:57we know, they were sec states. They New Mexico had an infection So
- 41:02let me go back to this infection ray stuff. This was interesting. A
- 41:06total in North Carolina STD rate of nine twenty two point two per one hundred
- 41:13thousand residents. Okay, New Mexico nine twenty five point nine. Georgia obviously
- 41:20higher than that. It was interesting though. In Georgia they had super high
- 41:24rates of chlamydia as opposed to the other ones. Don't know why, and
- 41:31they have no idea why either. It's chlamydia what they called the clap I
- 41:38think, so okay, but you know what the good thing is, that's
- 41:43information. I'm glad I don't know, because if I knew it for sure,
- 41:46then it probably means that i've yeah, that I've had it, speaking
- 41:52from first hand experience. Yeah, yeah, this is one of the topics
- 41:54I'm happily ignorant on. The data analysis uncovered that Mississippi was the state with
- 42:01the worst overall STD infection rate nationwide. They had an infection rate of one
- 42:07thousand, two hundred sixty six per one hundred thousand residents. That's a lot.
- 42:15Yeah, they can't teach anything else. And damn s you're not teaching
- 42:20sex ed No they're not. And speaking of sex ed, young people are
- 42:25the ones being urged the most to be particularly vigilant, I mean vigilant.
- 42:34That was that was a that was not the time to trip over my own
- 42:37tongue. I'm going home. I can't even hit the right music. Tripped
- 43:01over tongue. I'm a little ashamed that I've found that so funny, but
- 43:07it was. It made me feel better. I've really got to start pre
