- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today I want to talk to you about the phrase, what's wrong?
- 0:37And this is something that we as human beings tend to use an
- 0:41awful lot. I know, I was raised in a
- 0:44household where my mother would walk in a room and I would be
- 0:47sitting there I look up at her and she'd say what's wrong.
- 0:51And she always had this sense of impending doom and it seems very
- 0:57dramatic to say it that way, but it is very very True.
- 1:01Her sense of impending doom was huge and she had just a an air
- 1:07about her where she constantly looked for what's wrong.
- 1:11And I really I can't stress enough.
- 1:16How that affected me growing up because my father was the exact
- 1:21opposite, my father would walk in and always be Smiles.
- 1:24Hey, what's shakin, what's going on?
- 1:25What are you doing? He always had great things to
- 1:28say and always had a huge smile on his face.
- 1:31And I grew up in this absolute opposite environment.
- 1:36And I've talked about it before about how fortunate I was to
- 1:39have the absolute opposites to cultivate me, but this question
- 1:44of what's wrong keeps coming up and coming up and coming up in
- 1:49our lives. The other day, I happened to be
- 1:52in a store and I was watching family and the mother kept
- 1:56saying to the child, what's wrong, what's wrong?
- 1:59And you You know, obviously. It's a it's a push to get you to
- 2:07tell you that you had a person to tell you something but what
- 2:10if there's really nothing wrong, what if you're just sitting
- 2:12there and you're not even thinking about anything, what if
- 2:14you're just being the kid in that moment or the person in
- 2:17that moment and there really is nothing wrong.
- 2:19There's just a, you know, I'm not thinking about anything
- 2:23moment, what does that do to you?
- 2:25What does that do to your hardwiring?
- 2:26How does that make your brain shift into looking for something
- 2:30that's wrong all the time? Well, Huge and human beings are
- 2:35automatically, hardwired to seek and see what's wrong for safety
- 2:40purposes. It's just part of our dynamic in
- 2:44survival, basic survival, things are to see what's wrong, so you
- 2:47can fix them and you can then continue on.
- 2:50But when you push it that way, it means, everything comes into
- 2:55Focus under that umbrella. So if we go back to, who's
- 2:58driving your bus as a metaphor again and we Issei.
- 3:04What emotion is driving at that? Well, it comes from the fear
- 3:08side of things. It could be fear.
- 3:09It could be anxiety, it could be, you know, just having this
- 3:15sense of Ali's all the time. It could be that you're on edge,
- 3:20whatever the emotion is, however, it shows up, it it's
- 3:23all predicated, from that sense of fear, deep down inside about
- 3:28something must be wrong. How many of you have had a
- 3:31situation in your life where things are going?
- 3:33So well, Everything is going so well, so well, so well.
- 3:36And then all of a sudden, you say to yourself.
- 3:39Well, this has been going too good for too long.
- 3:41Something must be going to go wrong and boom.
- 3:45All of a sudden, something goes wrong.
- 3:47Well, that's not an accident that, that those things start to
- 3:50show up because your focus shifts and then you start to
- 3:53look for what's wrong. And then you make it show up by
- 3:56focusing on what's wrong? We get in these energies and
- 4:00these emotions and you can't help, but have those things
- 4:03show, Oh up when you're focused on him all the time.
- 4:06So it is a critical piece of your well-being to recognize how
- 4:12much you look for what's wrong versus what's great?
- 4:16You know, how many times have you sat down in the last month?
- 4:21Let's say, and that's not even go that far a week.
- 4:23Maybe even a day when you said, hey, what's great about today?
- 4:28I mean, when I ask that question of clients, the answer I get is
- 4:32I haven't done it enough or I haven't done it or it seems to
- 4:36slip my memory or I don't really think about it that much of
- 4:40course you don't because when you get into your doer mode and
- 4:43you're just there and you're grinding.
- 4:44Oh every single day you just cranking and grinding clanking
- 4:47and grinding doing the work. You're not paying attention to
- 4:50that piece and it's detrimental to your well-being because
- 4:54you're skipping the parts that create the energy.
- 4:58Because remember emotion creates energy and vice versa and having
- 5:04that energy is what attracts things to you remember, like
- 5:07attracts. Like so if you're looking for
- 5:11the Doom and Gloom, if you're looking for what's wrong, you
- 5:14will always find it. My mother always found a healthy
- 5:17source of what was wrong. Her friends would call and tell
- 5:19her who died. She'd have all these things.
- 5:23She'd find it work to complain about she'd come home and she'd
- 5:26have the saddest face. She'd walk.
- 5:27Walk in the door and I'd say, how was your day?
- 5:29And she's like, just like yesterday.
- 5:32I'd be like okay, why do I even want to have a conversation with
- 5:35her about it all weekend? Friday, she'd be happy because
- 5:39she was done and at the end when she came home from work and by
- 5:42Saturday morning she'd say only one more day and then back to
- 5:45the grind and then some you know Sunday night, she'd be in that
- 5:49whole mode of just getting ready for the next day, not excited
- 5:52about it. Just focusing on being back to
- 5:55the grind and then she'd come home from work.
- 5:57On Monday, and she would always say how was your day, but those
- 6:01terrible, this happened, this happened, this happened.
- 6:03Not only when she complain about stuff for herself, she complain
- 6:06about stuff for other people, and she talked about it all the
- 6:09time, and she had a very good friend who happens.
- 6:14I happen to consider an adopted Aunt who I still have the gift
- 6:18of having on this planet with me and she was the happiest person.
- 6:23And she would always say to me, I don't know why she's like
- 6:26that. I don't know why she's like
- 6:27that. That and she is the exact
- 6:29opposite of it. But somehow they were friends, I
- 6:31think just for years. Maybe they were friends when
- 6:33they were kids to, but I just did there and I say to myself
- 6:37holy cow, how could it have gotten to that point?
- 6:40Because I know it's some point. She had to have been a happy
- 6:43person, she had to have not always been like that at least I
- 6:47hope that was the case and I I look back and I say gosh that
- 6:52one phrase now that I know what I know could have just been
- 6:55eliminated. I bet a lot of her work.
- 6:57One of changed. So I'm going to challenge you to
- 7:00go out today and find how many times you're using what's wrong,
- 7:05and what you're looking at, and how we can change that because
- 7:07that will have a distinct distinct winning shift in your
- 7:12life if you can do it. So I hope you guys have a great
- 7:15day and go find, what's great? Instead of what's wrong?
- 7:19Take care. Bye.
