- The Drama Drop: ⁓ my gosh, is this it? Is this actually happening? Is this the first episode of the drama drop dropping today? Guys, I can't believe we are here. It's finally happening. It's been so, so long waiting for this to become a reality. And I'm so excited that you're here, whether you're new or if you've been anticipating it. I hope you guys know by now, but if not, my name is Morgan. and you're listening to the Drama Drop where we are gonna talk about all things pop culture drama, reality TV breakdowns, unfiltered opinions. It's gonna be a little community, know, kind of like the group chat conversation that you wish you recorded. We're gonna be covering so many things and I'm just so excited to get started. So are you a reality TV watcher? Are you chronically online? Do you go down? multiple rabbit holes on Reddit trying to connect the dots of all the drama. Well, if you are, this is gonna be your one stop shop for all of that and let's get started. Today, we are gonna be dropping about four major topics. So the first one I wanna get started is with the internet drama that basically raised all of us, Sophia Franklin. She dropped her memoir announcement. So let's take it back a little bit. She was part of the original call her daddy, know, Sophia Franklin, Alex Cooper. It was a duo and they really blew up overnight. Their connection and dynamic was something that could not be broken. I mean, the two of them together, I just remember when I first started listening to them and I would listen to them every morning when they dropped an episode on my way to work and just uncontrollably laughing. I'll be honest, it's very far from you in between where a podcast actually makes me laugh. And they definitely had that energy. They just were really worked well together. But as we all know, when they broke up, their podcast broke up, it took the internet by storm. There was all this speculation, all this theory. So if you guys don't know, or it could be a refresher for a lot of you, I'm sure you do know they were just two random girls from New York. They ended up being roommates and started a podcast together. Barstool picked them up, they had a contract with them. And they really just got so popular, had so many listens and downloads. And really what boils down to it is Sophia Franklin. She started dating who was known as Suit Man. And you know, kind of was putting into her ear like, hey, you girls are worth so much more than what you're making. And that's when the tables started turning of, ⁓ do we negotiate contract? Anyways, I just remember it was COVID time and all of a sudden the podcast was on hiatus. We had no idea what was happening. There was no podcast dropping, no updates on why there was no podcast dropping and every speculation you could think of was going on. There was hints of alleged, you know, ⁓ abuse, I would say, going on or just people being taken advantage of. There was never a clear reason as to what was going on with the Call Her Daddy podcast till finally ⁓ we get some sort of answers. And Alex Cooper drops, I think it was like a 42 minute YouTube video of what happened and her version of the story is she wanted to continue with the Call Her Daddy podcast, but the contract negotiation was not up to Sophia's standards. You know, she had a conversation with Dave Portnoy about the contract and from what I gather, he was very reasonable with it of Hey, you know, if you could just finish out your year, you know, you can have this percentage, whatever, blah, blah, blah. But for Sophia, that amount, you know, ⁓ wasn't enough, which is kind of funny because considering after the fact, ⁓ Alex gets this ⁓ huge with Spotify. So was Sophia really wrong? Probably not. But. ⁓ What's crazy about the whole thing is Alex went ahead and signed the contract without Sophia. So we just got Alex's version of kind of making it seem that Sophia just didn't want nothing was good enough for her and she wasn't going to move forward, which now the story kind of seems to be Sophia still wanted to talk things out, but Alex just went ahead and took it upon herself to sign the contract and move forward. That is what we are knowing the story to be. However, we have not until this point gotten really a clear answer of what Sophia's version is. mean, sure, you know, now she has her own podcast, Alex has kept Call Her Daddy and all the same lingo, all the same things that both of them kind of created together. Now Sophia doing her solo. podcast, Sophia with an F and you know, just really more so than anything explained to the hurt that she felt, but she has never really given the details. so now all these years later, she's decided to drop a memoir about the drama and the whole situation. And I'm super excited about it. When she dropped the little hint of something that was occurring, I thought it was going to be a documentary. ⁓ but I'm really excited that it's a book. feel, I don't know. I feel like that's a little bit different. So, and can we also talk about the photo of the album or sorry, the book cover being a picture of her and obviously Alex, but Alex crossed out. I just I don't know, I'm super excited. I know there are several people at team Alex, team Sophia. I've loved them both separately and I've loved them together. But I mean, I am not, you know, just blind, loyal. I want to hear her side too. More and more I feel like is coming out. I mean, think about it. If you look at Sophia's Insta post where she's talking about dropping the memoir. Alex Earl, obviously, TikTok sensation. mean, now she's way more than just TikTok, but the girl liked that post. And as we all maybe know, Alex Earl and Alex Cooper had a huge falling out. We don't know the details of that. Alex will Alex Earl will drop a memoir later on in the years. But she went out of her way to like that post. So I'm just very curious to know more of the details. I feel like Alex Cooper has been more so in control of the narrative of the two of them. think she felt maybe she had more able to say because she had the call her daddy IP. ⁓ But yeah, I'm very curious to know the full story and Sophia's side and I will definitely be reading that book. I've already pre-ordered it, which it comes out November 10th, by the way. So if you haven't pre-ordered it, you definitely should, but do not worry if you don't. I definitely have and I will be talking about it here. But speaking of turning your besties, but not actually besties, let's discuss the Traders finale and reunion. Okay, so let's just, let me just be very candid here because there's a couple of things that I want to say. First, before I really get into just like the finale specifically, I need somebody to explain this to me because the whole premise of the show to me is, you know, the faithfuls, they're trying to get out the traders, okay? And why that's all fine and dandy. I personally, just don't really like the twist of recruiting a trader. And here's why. I mean, I get it in a sense of, okay, maybe you're thinking like, okay, you only have to get one more out. don't really know. I'm still trying to figure that out. Maybe I need to get some other perspective and actually look into that because I haven't. It's just been in my own thoughts. But I just don't understand recruiting a trader midway after more traders have been... ⁓ you banished and caught by the faithfuls because I just feel like again, the whole point is to get out all the traders. So it's just kind of like, I feel a slap in the face almost to the faithfuls of, okay, you've been doing so good at getting out all the other traders, but you're doing a little bit too good. So now we're just gonna randomly throw another one in there and really mess you up because If you've been working with someone who's a faithful and you're like, yeah, they're a faithful, whatever, yada yada. And then there's just a random switch. I don't know. know get like twists. I get that. But to me, I'm just like, okay, the point is to get out the traders. They're getting out the traders, but it's like, okay, wait, you're doing too well at getting them out. So now we're gonna add another one in. Okay, so I'm gonna talk about the finale now. So spoiler alert, you don't already know, ⁓ won ⁓ and ⁓ Rob from Love Island. okay, ⁓ I just, ⁓ I'm so ⁓ confused the internet maybe some people can also shed light. ⁓ for me, but people are upset that he won as a trader and in order for him to win did trader like activities. here's where I'm confused. I'm sorry. That's the premise of the show. You literally signed up to the show traders and knowing that there will be backstabbing lies, ⁓ manipulation. I just, I'm really just so confused. I mean, again, I obviously haven't played it. So I don't understand all the emotion that gets in it. You know, you're there for just a short amount of time and I guess tensions run high, but I'm sorry. Like the whole point is to win the game, whether you're a faithful or a traitor. And if you're a traitor, you can't disclose that. So you have to pretend like you're a faithful. What was he supposed to do? I just, I'm a, like offer himself up. I don't know. I'm really confused. Like, You can't, how else would you win? I just, I'm really curious to know why people are truly upset. There have been some comments about, he didn't have to backstab Eric. He didn't have to try to throw him under the bus. Again, it's called traitors and Eric could have done the same thing. I mean, I know, I guess if you wanna talk about morality or... your standards or how you are as a person. again, and I sound like a broken record, it's a game. And at the end of the day, you want to win, you want to win as much as you possibly can. And I just don't really see what he did as being wrong. And I know people were so upset about Mara. And I mean, was it a really hard watch at the very end when she thought those two were faithfuls together? Yes, that was very painful and I did start to feel a little bit bad, but. Sorry, I mean he got you. I don't know really what you want from that and I think he did a really phenomenal job at playing the game. However, you know. And people I feel like they take games so personally and they pretend like they think that's how people actually are. But if you have that game strategy, I mean. people can separate that from real life. you know, if we want to look at it as, okay, let's look at it as another reality show. Okay, he was on Love Island, right? If you're gonna do manipulation and conniving there and then be perceived as the villain, that makes total sense because that whole type of show, you know, is find love and you don't want to be a villain when you're in that kind of aspect. But this is a completely different atmosphere. It's a whole completely different setup. And it's a different premise. So I'm sorry, I just I don't understand why people think that he's a terrible person for doing what he did. ⁓ But okay, so if we're to go into strategy, you know, we'll talk about ⁓ the reunion. And I got to be honest, I feel like there were so many things that were untouched. But we'll get into that. But As Rob mentioned in the reunion, he said, would you give a hundred thousand dollars to somebody that you just met three weeks ago? No, I don't think anybody would. you know, Eric mentioned, oh, but you know, at the end of the day, sometimes like relationships are more important than friendships, but or sorry, relationships are more important than money and whatever the quote it was. But that's easy for him to say, because he's the one that got screwed over. So it's easy to be on your high horse and say, ⁓ yeah. Well, I'm just so I have so many morals and high standards and I would not treat a person that way. Yeah. Well, it's because you lost. I'm sorry. I mean, it's just easier for you to say that you weren't in the position and maybe you should have thought a little bit smarter. I mean, look at what Rob did to the other traders. He easily got rid of them. You know, so like what made you think that you were safe? I don't know. Just its gameplay, whatever. But OK, so the reunion. I don't know if anybody else feels this way, but more and more, feel like reunions are just so pointless. And it's really frustrating, honestly, because the whole point of a reunion is to, at least in my opinion, is to address things that weren't able to be addressed during the actual show. you know, now the people get to watch it back, they get to see what they weren't privy to while filming. ⁓ There's just some unanswered questions that people want to know. They want to talk about. And lately, I just feel like these reunions get so rushed and it's really frustrating. especially to like Andy Cohen, he is the Bravo star. He is the reunion legend. Like he gets things done. mean, there's like three parters for Real Housewives and he lets them talk. I don't know if it's just because they're just so limited with time, which I mean, I guess so, because, you know, he mentioned multiple times, all right, we got to keep it moving. But if that's the case, one, why do a reunion or two, just spread it out, do multiple, because the people love reunion. People love it with, ⁓ you know, confrontation or talking about things. People want to know what their takes are, opinions, feelings on it. It's not going to hurt you to have multiple episodes of a reunion. So again, why just do one? If there's so much content to talk about, or just don't do it at all, because it just, I don't feel like anything was addressed. We got anything resolved. Anytime anything was starting to occur or happen, Randy, ⁓ sorry, not Randy. I don't know where that came from. Andy said, all right, it's time to move on. We gotta keep going. And then, there'd be some like little cutesy funny thing that would they'd throw in there. And it's like, I don't want to, I don't need a montage of everybody and the funny things that they did. Like I just like Michael Rapoport eating off a plate. I don't know. I don't need that. I don't care. ⁓ things I, I wanted to know more about is just, you know, I loved Candice confronting Rob and that whole dynamic of when he wanted to start going against the traders. ⁓ I was really interested in Colton kind of hearing his perspective on just. I don't really know honestly what to say about Colton, because him being on the show in general is. Causing up. A lot of controversy and chaos, because if you don't know the background. ⁓ he was on The Bachelor and there's a lot of stalking allegations and threatening allegations ⁓ to his ex-girlfriend Cassie and just seemingly a very dangerous person to women and just not a good look. So him coming on the show was very startling for a lot of people. And from what I gathered on... social media was Lisa Rinna was ready to confront that and talk about his ⁓ alarming past because you know, okay, let's talk about it. Okay, so Tom Sandable the whole Vanderpump rules scandal ⁓ him cheating on Ariana with Raquel Rachel, whatever you want to call her. Obviously like that was a huge scandal and he was but you know, he was given the opportunity to be on traders. People had feelings about that but Okay. Whether we like it or not, cheating is not a crime. However, Colton Underwood, he's putting tracking devices and just being very threatening and very harmful, like actual crime criminal, you know, with all of these alleged things that have happened. And then now he's being put on our TV screens. And so I was just extremely looking forward to Lisa. asking him all these questions and kind of confronting that situation. She did give us a warning. She said, I don't know what they're gonna show on the reunion. I don't know if they're gonna show anything that I brought up to him. Because she knows how reality TV works and she wasn't wrong. We really didn't get much. I think it was a chance for him to do a little PR cleanup. I don't know. I don't know if his management team was like, ⁓ hey, here, we'll get you. on this show and kind of maybe show a golden boy edit, you know, that you're not threatening or what people perceive you as. But I just know that there's a lot of controversy with him and people were not happy to have him on the screen. And that was one thing I was looking forward to. The reunion was a little bit more of the why, like, why are you coming on TV? ⁓ Is there a goal with that? And wanting to hear how people thought about it. But anyways, in short, I just wanted more from the reunion. I always want more from reunions though. I feel like I can never get enough. And one of the reunions that I never felt like we got enough was Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. But we'll let's get into that because we know that that show always delivers chaos. So as we all know, if we don't, the sneak peek release premiere date, March 12th, which That's when this episode is dropping. But obviously it hasn't. ⁓ It's not March 12th yet. So I am so excited for season four. I really have no idea what to expect because I feel like these girls always deliver. They're very vulnerable. I feel like they definitely give us what we want, which I really appreciate. And there was another sneak peek that dropped what's today, March 4th. And ⁓ It's like a little bit more in depth than what we had been getting up till this point. And we have a little bit of Demi in there. I, you know, she hasn't really been in any of the promos. So I was very curious to see what her role was going to be this season. And there was a little part in the sneak peek. You know, they're calling her on the phone of, hey, where are you? Are you showing up? And she, you know, pretty quickly goes, well, no, blah, blah. You know, we don't get to know obviously what that is, but I am hoping that she'll at least be in a couple episodes because I feel like from season three, what we left off of was not resolved. know, she spoke her truth, but I still feel like there's a looming cloud with that. And for her to just not come back at all would be terrible. So I'm hoping that maybe if she doesn't necessarily come on full time, that she does have a part in the season to be able to share her truth. know she was in a couple clips, but she hasn't been in any other promos with cast pictures and stuff. So I'm just kind of curious to know what extent we'll get with her. But as always, mean, there is so much drama. There's crying, have Taylor, Frankie, Paul balling and yelling on a speaker phone with somebody, who that is, I don't know, probably Dakota. You have her yelling at. Dakota and you have just everybody putting in their two cents. There's shock. There is tears and these girls just constantly provide for us with drama and entertainment. And I will say one thing I'm nervous about, but from the looks of the sneak peek, it didn't disappoint. But I mean, we'll see once the season starts dropping is now these girls are executive producers. And, ⁓ you know, now that they have more of a say is what is going to make the cut on our TV screens. You see a little bit nervous, but here's my thing. They've been so open up until this point. I can't imagine that they would stop now. Maybe the whole executive producer thing is just to give them a little bit more credibility, put more things on their resume, you know, make them more like business women. ⁓ So hopefully it's not going to be anything of, ⁓ actually, no, take that out, take that out, take that out in controlling a narrative. ⁓ But I'm excited for them. And yeah, I'm just I'm really excited to see all their storylines continue and see the new things that they're doing and working on more behind the scenes of things that we didn't get to see, you know, kind of dropped off like ⁓ Dancing with the Stars with Whitney and Jen. now we'll kind of be able to fill those gaps in now that the season will be dropping. So I'm excited for that. And again, like I said, I love these girls. They'll obviously be more to talk about once the season drops. So this is me kind of just giving an overview of what's been dropped up until this point. And then obviously, you know, we'll hopefully be able to see more into the Bachelorette too, because I'm trying to figure out the timeline of when they recorded season four and Bachelorette. I'm pretty sure just by the looks of it, it's simultaneously intertwined a little bit maybe. I'm not 100 % sure, but like I said, we'll touch on the Bachelorette too. So I am hoping that those collide and we'll be able to get a lot ⁓ of discussions. And yeah, I think it's gonna be great. There's so many exciting things coming up. ⁓ more like Age of Attraction, which is another show that I'll be touching on that's also dropping on Netflix. And that'll be hosted by Nick Viall and Natalie Joy. ⁓ There's just gonna be so many fun things for us to talk about. And I just cannot wait to continue to build this with you guys. And I hope you've enjoyed this episode so far and enjoyed listening to the content. And if you have anything, like I said, that you want me to touch on, get my take, want me to watch, because there's so much that's out there. So if there's something that you're like, ⁓ I need your take on this, please watch it. Let me know and I will be more than happy to jump on it. ⁓ But I am just really excited, you guys, and thank you so much for listening and tuning in. There's gonna be so much in the future for us and I'm just so excited. So. Please, please, please, if you could follow, subscribe, leave a review, just follow the podcast on socials, it's at the drama drop, and listen to us on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and yeah, we're doing it, guys, we're doing it. It's happening, I'm so excited, I love you guys. Until next time, stay messy but informed. Love you guys.
