- 0:00How important are genetics for people getting well because we talk about genes and the reason I'm sick is because my genetics
- 0:06Told me I was sick or I have a debt sentence because my mom got cancer. I'm gonna get cancer
- 0:11So what part is genetics really play in the health decline?
- 0:15Yeah, I mean, I think it's it's crucial. So what can you do? Well, the genetic report and powers you and I had one
- 0:22Let you say I don't want to know my genes. I said why? She said because I just worried about them. I said, wouldn't
- 0:27Yeah, it doesn't empower you to do something to help yourself and I told her like I now I know you know
- 0:33You've had these genes. I can actually tell you what to do to prevent those heavy metals from crossing your blood
- 0:38Very good detox them right you can get them out and that's where people don't really realize it
- 0:43They you can actually change somebody's life by changing their genes for us
- 0:47Absolute with neutral dynamics
- 0:49So neutral dynamics changing after decades of being an ER doctor
- 0:53What was the biggest lie that you learned in medical school that you now have to teach your patients to unlearn is that
- 0:59Everything that you learned in medical school was correct if you want to know what the biggest I
- 1:04I don't know if you want to call it a lie that's a misconception. I guess I would say would be that
- 1:12Dr. Andy welcome to the show. I'm super excited to have you it's a long time coming. We we crossed we missed pass
- 1:18About a year ago and here we are today. So a powerful message of hope and healing of transformation
- 1:24You've a very successful clinic having a lot of really challenged cases
- 1:28Now we might get into some of that there aren't supposed to get well but get well
- 1:33I'm having challenges that supposedly are uncurable. You know those sorts of things but watching the body heal over and over again
- 1:41And I think it's gonna be one of the most powerful podcasts that we have this year
- 1:46As you bring so much wisdom so
- 1:48Comey how you went from
- 1:50Medical doctor to functional medicine doctor doing this type of work. All right. Well, it's a it's an interesting story
- 1:57My wife is involved in it. So I'll get her involved in that eventually, but I was in the art physician for almost 40 years
- 2:04And I was the ER director several hospitals works at lots of different places. So a lot of sick people
- 2:10Loves what I did. It was very very exciting. I'm really interesting
- 2:16And what I did because we could fix people right but there was a group of people that would come in that I could never fix because it was not really
- 2:23ER material right so we had bones sticking out of legs
- 2:26I could do something with that but when somebody came out of the chronic
- 2:30Condition I really really could do much for him in resort amount of time I had
- 2:34So they'd always ask me questions like well
- 2:37I've been going on in a doctor for so many years
- 2:39Can't can't you help me and it was very humbling to me to because I really didn't have anywhere to send these people
- 2:46Because I would only tell them to go back to see their family doctor they'd been going to for so years and they couldn't get well
- 2:52And so it was a frustrating time when we were trying to see those kind of patients
- 2:56I loved doing the trauma do that
- 2:58I loved doing all that but those cases were really challenging but in my heart is still I had a passion for those people
- 3:05And I felt bad for them because I see them over and over again coming back to get help and they couldn't get help
- 3:10And so a family situation came up and
- 3:14This was the part that really turned that turned the corner I guess you might say
- 3:19One day my wife came to me and she said Randy you're a good doctor. Can't you help someone in our family?
- 3:24And I said well sure well what do you want me to do and she said
- 3:28Well my our grandson obviously he's must be on the spectrum
- 3:32He might be autistic. He's not acting right he walks
- 3:35On his tiptoes. He doesn't talk to people. He's often his own really doesn't interact with anybody
- 3:41Not talking normally and he should be at this age and so you sent your doctor
- 3:46Can't you help him and and I said well, I'll tell you why with my history
- 3:50I was an analytical chemist on you had to do research. I said I'm gonna do some research
- 3:53I'll go down a rabbit hole. It's not an ER thing we can fix in the emergency room
- 3:58But I'll definitely get down that down that pathway. So I did and I started studying some things and
- 4:03A couple weeks went by we were sitting at the dinner table when my wife says well
- 4:08Would you find out and I'm like unfortunately Cheryl? I really don't have anything to tell you
- 4:13I mean you can get in drugs. It might be able to help out a little bit
- 4:16But they're really not gonna be any cure for this and she looked me staring at it like I'm looking at you
- 4:21And she said I'm not gonna accept that and I said well, what are you gonna do?
- 4:26And she's like well, I'm gonna study natural medicine because I think that might be able to do something with that
- 4:31And I'm like well, okay, you go for it girl. I'm all for you do it. All right
- 4:35So I'm very skeptical. I was I was a traditionally trained doctor or really kind of didn't get down that pathway
- 4:41I was very doubtful that she's gonna find anything. So
- 4:45Little by little
- 4:46She was studying at night. She'd wake me up at three o'clock in the morning sometimes that she will get a kick out
- 4:50This is me telling this story because she'd wake me up and say hey, I just learned something about the mitochondria
- 4:55I need to I need to talk to you about that. I said Cheryl
- 4:58I'm trying to sleep. I gotta get up and go to work in a morning. Can you just wait it?
- 5:01And though I'm excited about it. She the more she learned it was just exciting
- 5:05And she started doing little things with this child that
- 5:09Was helping him a little by little. I would say that
- 5:12Slowly he began to get better. He began to walk normally talk normally
- 5:17Begin to interact with us and over a period of a few months
- 5:21He was no longer on the spectrum
- 5:23And that's for my curiosity to the point that I was like oh my gosh. We there's something to this
- 5:29Yeah, there's something there. Yes, and so I
- 5:32I got very interested then and finding out what she was learning and
- 5:37Some of the things she I'd never heard about you know when she was talking about some of those topics
- 5:40I never heard about them because that's not in the traditional world
- 5:43And so I began to look for a fellowship and
- 5:47Some kind of a medicine that would help me to get training to do what I needed to do to help people like that
- 5:53And that's where it all turned and I enrolled in an integrated medicine fellowship out in San Diego and we
- 6:00completed that and a couple years a lot of a lot of training a lot of things I've never heard before
- 6:06And
- 6:07Quite honestly it was it was for a while it was a little bit
- 6:10Concerning because I was a little bit depressed because I felt like a lot of things I learned I needed to relearn
- 6:16In a boy that was actually could help people and so that's what we did
- 6:20We opened up a clinic one day where you think and we could help other people not just our own family
- 6:24And we opened one day a week and we were sharing an office with another doctor and
- 6:30We got really busy really fast and we ended up pushing him out of his office basically
- 6:35And so I said well, we can't do that
- 6:37We need a bigger space and so we met her to another town and we opened up a clinic in that town and
- 6:42And now it's just blossom and we've seen people from all of the United States coming to see us and
- 6:47We have two people who come from Germany. You see us just to do things to get them well
- 6:52Which nobody else can help to help get them well. So that's the story. That's a great story
- 6:57And I remember when I was sick I would have
- 7:00I
- 7:01Would have done anything to find
- 7:03A Cheryl and a doctor and I would have done anything because I was desperate and I
- 7:08And this is was 20 years ago
- 7:10So I don't even know if you were doing this work them probably not
- 7:13And so there wasn't very many people and the ones that we're doing it
- 7:17We're really labeled as quacks. So you were afraid and they were suppressed and so we were
- 7:22Running all over the country trying to get well going to shoemaker and you know that
- 7:27Andrew Cutler's protocols for heavy metals and like all all the rabbit holes, right
- 7:33And the chronologist anything to just to get well and it took me
- 7:37Yeah, I got good eight years five years for sure
- 7:40And you're you're seeing turn around six months. Yeah, you know, it's amazing
- 7:45I mean we the people that come to us all have a similar story basically this is like you
- 7:49I mean they they've been to many places
- 7:51I mean, it's unusual to have some a travel across the country from California to come to West Virginia to see a doctor
- 7:57It's you know
- 7:58That's doing something that we're doing and they set there in front of me and I say why did you come so far?
- 8:02Got to be people doing what you do there
- 8:05Or what we do there and and they say oh they always have a similar story like no
- 8:08I I knew somebody that came to you that they were not well and I have a similar story that they do
- 8:15And they're better now and I want to do better and I've been to all the doctors in my community
- 8:20And I don't know what else to do. So I'm coming to you
- 8:22You got to help me right and so it's very helpful and I would have done. Yeah, and that's what they do
- 8:27And it's a very humbling but very rewarding as well the transition period between
- 8:33Being in the emergency room and transitioning to this new business was very interesting
- 8:39I had doctors that would come up to me and the hallway at the hospital and say things like why do you how come you never sick
- 8:46I could sick all the time. I had to flew every year of the fluke suit and why why don't I can be never sick
- 8:51And I would say well, and I had the same story to everyone I said my medicine's different than your medicine
- 8:57That's what I would tell them and that was further interesting. What do you mean all that?
- 9:00You know
- 9:01I've always tell them that well what I do is different because obviously I don't believe in the in the germ theory
- 9:06I believe in the train theory. I believe your train is healthy. You can even say healthy
- 9:10And it's funny now because those doctors now are my patients. They come to me and I take care of them
- 9:16And they they don't get sick like these anymore
- 9:20And it's funny because all the all the different healthcare providers that are now rolling in the door
- 9:24I never anticipated that to happen and when you mentioned something like well, you know, you know
- 9:29Some controversies or something that might be you know, I saw that you're gonna talk about that
- 9:33People looked I'll figured people look at me like I had a third eye on my head honestly in a medical world
- 9:38But how many healthcare providers are coming to me now? I have endocrinologists that come in
- 9:42I have a gastroenterologist. I have internal medicine docs that come to me family practice docs
- 9:48nurse practitioners car practice dentist. They're all coming
- 9:52And they know their system is broken and we're getting results that they can't get and when you ask them
- 9:57Why did why do you come here? And they always say well, you know, I can't get better
- 10:01You know, I'm doing everything on the night of the world and then to do them one two pills. We can't get better
- 10:05Yeah, taking pills do it. It's a fact though. Like if it's medications do not cure no very rarely
- 10:12No, it's it's it covers up symptoms. Yeah, that's what they're designed for. Well, that's what you're taught to do
- 10:17Like when you're in medical school they when you get the book the pharmacology book
- 10:22It's everything from that point forward has a pill that's connected to symptoms
- 10:26And when you somebody comes in with the symptom if you told me look
- 10:28I've got hypertension is a mumbrenical brain says I'm thinking beta blockers calcium channel blockers as inhibitors
- 10:34This is the way my brain thinks because I've been trained to do that
- 10:37But that's not really getting to the root of the problem, right?
- 10:40So it's not really cosmetic. No, it's like seeing a tire that's going flat in your car and you keep hitting air in it all the time
- 10:46I mean, you never fix the hole, right? So you've got to you got to fix the hole to keep them had to put air in the tire
- 10:51But doctors aren't trained to do that
- 10:53So I have that exact question, but I want to ask you this
- 10:58This question because this this has been bugging me. There's this theory
- 11:03That Rockefeller
- 11:05after he lost a monopoly on oil
- 11:08He thought about this and he's like
- 11:10Well, maybe I can
- 11:12manipulate medicine and he started using petroleum-based drugs and then took over the colleges and
- 11:21Pushed down naturopathic medicine or biology. Do you is there science behind what he did is true?
- 11:28Well, I believe it's true. I mean, I believe that there's if you dig far enough down the path
- 11:33You'll find that there are there is science behind that and I've been told that you know in my training
- 11:38I was told the same thing you know like the in the 1920s
- 11:41I believe is when that all started and anyone that was
- 11:45Curing people without the use of these so-called petroleum products or drugs is to call them
- 11:52Those were doc those people were were chastise basically were were made to be looked at like they were
- 11:58Witch doctors or snake royal pushers or something of that nature. Yeah. Yeah, so I think it's absolutely true
- 12:04That always bugs me because I mean if you look at it from a money standpoint of course it makes sense like
- 12:10Especially then Monopoly's he already did it and it's how can I do what made me a lot of money and do it again and use my influence
- 12:16So it makes sense that he would do it
- 12:18It's true. I don't know if he's looking that it was evil or whatever
- 12:22I you know, it would make sense that he would do something like that based
- 12:26Past behavior is your best predictor a future behavior
- 12:30That's Rockefeller definitely had a some behavior of Monopoly's
- 12:34He was a smart guy. Yeah, right in the amount of manipulate things including businesses
- 12:38And that's exactly what he did, but the tides are turning the things are changing the pendulum as swung in the opposite direction
- 12:45And it all started listen. It's been coming for a while. Yeah, but man COVID that really kicked it in a gear
- 12:51Yeah, people did wake up after they woke up like wait a minute like everything that you were telling me
- 12:56You know wasn't necessarily true. Absolutely
- 12:59And in many cases. Yeah, right and people that are so tired of not getting well
- 13:03You know, I've been in the hamster wheel of the medicine go the doctor for five or ten minutes
- 13:07Get your prescription go the pharmacy
- 13:10Go back to the doctor in three months. It is anything over and over again. You're in the hamster wheel
- 13:13You can't get out of it. Yeah, and and unfortunately those drugs that are there doing those and keeping people in the hamster well
- 13:20That's that's basically like the the gas station attendant that once you see the guy come put in his tire all the time
- 13:27Right because he's paying to do that
- 13:29And I don't I mean, I think there are doctors that have a good intention. Obviously. They probably most do. Yeah, I think they do
- 13:35Yeah, it's just unfortunate that the training you know now you see Robert Kennedy
- 13:39You know pushing for nutrition training in medical school my gosh
- 13:43We and he's getting in trouble for it. So but this is this is my question. This is my burning question especially right now
- 13:51As as these truths are coming out
- 13:54like
- 13:55That this drug like ivermectin or whatever could have been helpful in covid and masks weren't really effective and any
- 14:02virologist would say if it was
- 14:05You know the types of masks you'd have to be the right one because it would just go right through but but there was they had reasons
- 14:11They had the reasons yeah, but the the challenges is when the truth comes out that these drugs do help or this
- 14:18This is the type of mask they should have been saying or this is the modalities
- 14:21They should have been using and this is the medications. They should have been using during that time
- 14:26But there's a group of people still won't believe it because they all this separation that's happening between
- 14:34It's no longer
- 14:36Science it's no longer what's helpful to humanity. It's
- 14:40What's going to fit the narrative that I believe?
- 14:42So how do we fix that in in medicine because I think that's the problem because now like rfks doing this but
- 14:50There's psychology behind this right once you believe a certain narrative and and or over there you
- 14:57You'll die on that sword
- 14:59And that's unfortunate. Yeah, because I mean, I don't live my life like that
- 15:03You know, I mean you could say whatever and I'm going to be like that's interesting like I'd love to learn more
- 15:08Right is that really true could we have can we you know show me some so many some research and studies like let's talk about that
- 15:14Like you might disagree
- 15:16So how do we fix that pride? I think it's a really it's a challenging problem
- 15:20It's because we're trying to change the narratives that's been out there for so long and it's something that
- 15:26The people that are opening their eyes to this now the patient that come to me are these people and
- 15:32And end doctors to now are starting to realize that's why that we end doctors as patients
- 15:36And they're starting to realize that the system that we have now is broken and we've got to do something to change it
- 15:42And just even to the medical schools you know going back going back to that but the curriculum
- 15:47Where's the curriculum coming from has come from pharmaceutical companies that put the books out that tell you to
- 15:53Think about you know drugs whenever there's a symptom. I mean, I think that's what it is
- 15:58But yeah, I agree with you. I think it's going to be a very difficult thing to change
- 16:01But I think I think that they're that we're right for that now. I think that can't be being in office
- 16:06I think that that was a big step in the right direction
- 16:10Yeah, in case he means and people are stepping up and talking at the front of Congress about and it's going to take all makers
- 16:16I mean unfortunately, that's our democracy the way it is our our our country is but is run by you know
- 16:22All-makers which basically make policy if I just ran into but here's the problem
- 16:27I ran in ran into a nurse at Walmart. I had this videotaped by the way
- 16:32Um, and she she agrees that I shouldn't be wearing plastic. She's like I'm a nurse
- 16:36She's like this is all money follow the money trail. Yeah, right? So she believed all those things but she absolutely hates our fk
- 16:44Absolutely hate some and things everything she's doing is going to take out America, but she has
- 16:48But she still believed it's like oh this I've been a nurse for 25 years. I've seen people get sick
- 16:54um, you know
- 16:56We did agree when we were
- 16:58Talking I'm like where can we agree right and there's some things with our fk that I you know, I mean
- 17:03Yeah, just like I'm not I don't believe anyone blindly. I don't follow anyone. I don't know about you
- 17:07No, I don't I don't either. Yeah, I don't believe any man. I trust Jesus Christ
- 17:11There you go, you know, I'm a
- 17:13I go to the source and you know, I don't there's no
- 17:17Yeah, I'm not a I'm not a worshiper of man. Let's put it that way
- 17:20So but he has he does have a lot of great
- 17:24ideas and principles and
- 17:26But there's many people believe that he's burning down the health care system in America. Oh, I've heard that before
- 17:32Yeah, and I couldn't believe it because I mean, it's just like nutrition farming
- 17:36I mean, it's calm. Yeah, it's so yeah, it's like getting back to nature getting back to you know
- 17:42God's way of doing things if you will I think it's simple. I don't think it's controversial, but
- 17:48Some people don't so that's that's that's the fight that's the challenge
- 17:52Yeah, that's the challenge is not really a fight, but that's the challenge and my hope is
- 17:56Is as you're on the ground floor and doing this this movement and West Virginia
- 18:04That more and more people are are gonna see it's like it's based in the results. You can't
- 18:10What's the saying when it comes to results? You can't you can't argue the results. No
- 18:14And my blood work was this and now it's this you know, I couldn't walk now. I can you know, I couldn't talk
- 18:20Now I can talk I couldn't sleep now. I can sleep over and over and over and over again
- 18:25And that's what perpetuates the business that we have. Yeah, you know, it's funny because we had a business coach
- 18:29And he was asking me what her marketing budget was and I said we don't have one
- 18:33And he goes what way man? You don't market. You don't you know, spend money on marketing to get people to count
- 18:38So you don't have to once the people that go out and talk about these things and it's life changing and what when you change
- 18:44Somebody's life like that
- 18:46Like they can't walk and they come in and then they leave
- 18:50You know after a few visits and they're walking and they're doing having a normal life
- 18:54And they no longer have the symptoms that they used to have and they're off their medicines
- 18:58They talk. Yeah, and you can't keep them quiet. Yeah, I know when I got well. I couldn't stop talking and that that's our marketing
- 19:05It's the people they get better and you're you're right
- 19:07I think more and more people as they see those kind of things happen
- 19:10It's going to continue to push the agenda down this way
- 19:13And I think this pendulum is swinging in the right direction when someone's still sick
- 19:17Regardless of how much they don't like someone or individual and they're suffering enough
- 19:23Then they might be open to like oh Sally. What are you doing with Dr. Andy, you know
- 19:29I don't like him because he's a Christian. I don't like him because he's this
- 19:33I don't like him because he said nice things about RFK. I don't like him because you know whatever
- 19:38But you know, but if he makes me well, I'm okay with that. Yeah, I think that's what you need to do
- 19:43I feel like the people that are interested in what we do. I mean
- 19:49It's like I honestly I've been in both sides of this thing
- 19:52So I can tell you from both sides now the most rewarding thing of all is taking a patient from
- 19:59Taking them off of medicines and getting them well and they no longer need their medicines
- 20:04We have this jar and our office called the freedom jar
- 20:07And in that jar, it's about this big around about that tall
- 20:10It is all the pills that people got off of that can't do us. There's species pharmaceutical drugs
- 20:15And we have pictures of biggest smiles in the world people dumping their medicines into that jar and they are so happy
- 20:22And it is the stories are just amazing and I just it
- 20:26Worms for hard to even talk about
- 20:29I think that's one of the the power of love is is part of your medicine. Oh, I'd have to say oh no now
- 20:35I mean and honestly going back to the way God intended us to heal
- 20:39I mean, were you created by a creator that gave us the ability to have an immune system and to have things that work the way they do
- 20:46We're not broken right? We're not and and honestly if you can
- 20:51If you can go back to that go back to the maker in the way he and made you
- 20:55To fix things and and that's what we do. I mean in and spirituality is a big part of it honestly
- 21:00I warn I I know I know your Christian. I really um, I feel like that that's what kind of knit us together
- 21:06You know when we first met and it keeps it's it's the thing that I can't
- 21:12I can't put a finger on what it is every time I see somebody that's a Christian
- 21:16But when they come to the office and they're not a Christian we talk about that
- 21:20I think that it would be wrong for me not to bring that up when we're trying to try to heal people
- 21:26Because I feel like that you're your mind body and spirit. You're just not you're just not a physical body
- 21:31And without agree that other piece. It's like a three
- 21:34It's really like it's still with only two legs. I mean you got it you got to deal with all three
- 21:38And that's a big part of what we do and on and I think God
- 21:42Can heal people that in prayer works. I mean we ask people you want us to pray for you. Yeah, regardless of what they believe
- 21:48Yeah, yeah prayer always works
- 21:51You're on the same page with me. Yeah, yeah, it always works
- 21:53And you have to be authentic self any any time you're doing some is that hey, this is who I am
- 21:58I want to help you you know, but I like to pray with my patients, which is like prayer
- 22:01You know, I believe that your spirituality has a big part to do with your healing
- 22:06So I like to help you with that as well. Yeah, you know that could um
- 22:11mindset matters
- 22:12I mean if you if you feel like the pay if you the worst doctor you can have the worst doctor
- 22:17But if you believe in him
- 22:18There's that there's studies that shows I have all of these shows that you're gonna get well
- 22:22Yeah, you'll get you have a better chance of becoming getting well
- 22:25And improving if you trust the doctor that you're sitting yeah after coaching and being
- 22:30I had a business essentially coaching
- 22:33functional medicine doctors how to help people
- 22:36and
- 22:38What I've saw over and over again was the confident doctors got better results. Oh, because
- 22:43their belief
- 22:44Transcended into their belief and if that patient believed or client believed in the doctor
- 22:50The outcomes were through the roof so those
- 22:53Charismatic like hopeful yeah, um powerful
- 22:58Doctors that spoke their mind and had and they were full of joy and they were full of love they they really had much
- 23:05Because you're I think it's an energy exchange right they have low energy they have a low frequency
- 23:10And you have a high frequency right because you you get into prayer and you're taking care of your body
- 23:15And you're seeing results and you just take that and you keep giving it and it keeps coming
- 23:20And you keep giving it energy. Yeah, and it and it flows energy medicines real
- 23:24That was one of the things I learned from different than traditional medicine. There's a thing called energy medicine
- 23:30And so you are really crazing your oxygen your energy medicine
- 23:34You know like you're all alone. You got all kinds of laden on the table. It's better to evaluate me after this
- 23:39But that's okay because obviously now we are we get better
- 23:43people get better and
- 23:45And the energy that you carry with you in the morning when we tell people to get up in the morning
- 23:49Look in the mirror and say it's gonna be a good day
- 23:51Yeah, and I'm gonna get better
- 23:53You know and we teach them to do that and that that that if you set the tone with that right off the bat
- 23:58If you get up in the morning you look in the mirror, you know
- 24:00Hey, everything you see and you're gonna have a bad day and and you say that
- 24:04You're gonna probably have a bad day. Yeah, and it's gonna be hard to get out of it
- 24:08And so we teach you only that and energy is important
- 24:11You know god created sunlight. I mean we teach you know
- 24:15I guess I'm a little bit of a virus in that regard. I mean sunlight and water and grounding and all those things
- 24:22All the things I found to work it works. Yeah, well, you know, you're at example. You're you're the guy that got better
- 24:27All right, so
- 24:28And I think that if we don't go down those pathways are missing they use chance to help people
- 24:33I've heard you say that most doctors look at lab results and they see normal
- 24:37But those normal results are actually keeping their clients sick. Can you talk about oh my gosh
- 24:42I think of all the things in medicine that I found to be one of the most frustrating things was once I found out that
- 24:49The lab work that we see every day that coming in the lab tests on the paper is being used to treat people
- 24:57And I mean that's that is a controversial statement probably more than anything
- 25:02But the reason it's very bad is because it's not really a good indication of who you are what's going on inside your body
- 25:10There is a little bit of help with it
- 25:12Just like analogy I use in my patients as I tell them that you have a gas tank in your car those gasoline
- 25:18But if I measure how much gasoline is in that tank if the if I turn on the switch and it goes to full
- 25:24Doesn't mean the car's gonna run in
- 25:27The same thing occurs in your body if you've got
- 25:30Vitamins and mineral flow around in your body and I measure them
- 25:34Thyroid whatever we talked about that before
- 25:37That doesn't mean the thyroid's functioning properly
- 25:39Okay, no more than the gas tank in the tank tells me if the engine's running properly
- 25:43So when I started to figure this out it was really
- 25:47There's a lot of people that say they do functional medicine right and I agree there's a lot of talk about that
- 25:52It's a it's a it's a talking more now and there's a lot of labels
- 25:55But there's very few people don't functional testing
- 25:59And that's there's a difference and I don't know if you know the difference
- 26:02The tells the difference so the difference is that functional testing looks at the way things operate
- 26:07Inside the body from the function of things not just looking at what's in the tank for you about does the engine run or not
- 26:13And we talked about thyroid in the past and and testing a thyroid by looking at T3 and T4 is not adequate
- 26:19I mean you can't do a TSH that comes out of the hypothalamus and I think that's measuring your thyroid function
- 26:25It's not
- 26:26But people doctors do that all the time and then you know the traditional tests will do a TSH in a
- 26:31In a reflex T4
- 26:33But T4 is not even active thyroid that's coming out of the thyroid gland
- 26:37But it goes from T4 down to the liver and gets coated in the T3 and they've got it in the liver
- 26:41And the T3 is the active form of thyroid so if you're going to measure anything at least do a T3 level
- 26:46And even at that though your thyroid may not still not be functioning and how many people come to me and they say look doc
- 26:52I have all the symptoms of thyroid disease
- 26:55I have brittle hair and no energy. I can't sleep well and I get all the things no sex drive etc
- 27:01But they've been told they have normal thyroid because your TSH is normal
- 27:06The same thing occurs in the blood. I mean if you if you do a blood if you get a B12 level in a patient
- 27:13That doesn't mean their B12 is being used properly by their body
- 27:17because
- 27:18When the body uses the B12 what's it make it makes an organic acid the organic acid can be measured from the blood
- 27:24Maybe that's measured that that's functional testing right
- 27:27This is where functional medicine separates itself from traditional medicine
- 27:31If you start looking at organic acid tests, methylmalonic acid for example being made
- 27:37In the body then you know your B12 is being used for efficiently in the body
- 27:42You could have as much B and I see people with high B12 levels being told don't take B12 you don't need it
- 27:48But their body's not using B12
- 27:50Is this analogy worked? So if you're your gas you have B12 lots of lots of fuel in the gas tank
- 27:56But there's no byproducts of that gas being burnt no then that means the the fuel isn't being used right
- 28:03You've got gas in the tank but if you hold your hand down at the exhaust pipe there's nothing coming out right
- 28:07It's not running right
- 28:08So whenever we are putting the hand of the gas down to the exhaust pipe that's like measuring organic acids in the body
- 28:14We want to know what's going on in there. I mean if you only look at blood work. It's not adequate
- 28:19You're gonna miss it and many doctors. Let me tell you you're being treated just by looking at blood work on a piece of paper
- 28:25especially
- 28:27That that misuse of testosterone. Oh estrogen. Oh, terrible. Progesterone and I think the hormones and
- 28:35Endocrine the endocrine system in general is probably one of the most misunderstood of all the systems and tested improperly
- 28:42by endocrinologists and gas and gas and gastronologists for liver but also for
- 28:48OB docs and and gynecologists because they're putting people on
- 28:53For example, I'll give you another example. Let's say that we give you come to me and you're a young lady and you say
- 28:59Hey, I need birth control
- 29:01And I said okay here. We'll write just script for that go get it filled
- 29:04How do I know that that birth control estrogen the estrogen in the birth control is not being converted in the body
- 29:09And it's something that's harm in that patient
- 29:11For example e4 e4 there are four different kinds of estrogens e1234 e4 is very harmful to the body
- 29:17So that's the cancer causing estrogen and there's a lot of women that come to me and they've been taken hormones and hormone replacements
- 29:25But never have a check to see what's going on inside the body
- 29:28Functionally functional medicine again to see if their body is using that estrogen properly and getting rid of the estrogen properly
- 29:36So they'll have high levels of e4 and the more estrogen than they get in those pills the higher their e4 is and that's very damaging to the right
- 29:44It's good breast cancer a variant cancer you don't cancer you name it intermediate oasis all because
- 29:51The doctor never checked to see what's going on inside the body functionally. It's like turning the car
- 29:55I'm not the garage closed
- 29:58So we're finishing this analogy. I like the reality. I'll to use that one after decades of being an ER doctor
- 30:04What was the biggest lie that you learned in medical school that you now have to un-un-teach your patients to unlearn?
- 30:11And that's a tough one. I would say that the biggest
- 30:15Why misconception?
- 30:19Is that everything that you you learned in medical school was correct?
- 30:25And it's it sounds like it's a big subject it is
- 30:28Because when I found out that it wasn't that that sent me down into a little bit of a spiral
- 30:34And it frustrated me because I don't know why we weren't taught the things that we were taught that I've learned since
- 30:40Medical school. I mean it makes sense to me that we should have learned those things
- 30:44But for example, I mean just knowing you know about functional medicine in general
- 30:49I mean, why don't they teach you that in medical school?
- 30:51Why don't they teach you that you can't just check the gas tank to find if the engine runs
- 30:56Right that seems so simple and logical
- 30:59But that's that doesn't occur so when I found out that wasn't happening and I found out I should be checking other things
- 31:05I even tell my doctors that come to me as patients now
- 31:08I tell them they say they're like well my gosh, you use the low vitamin D
- 31:12And they'll say well, I see patients with low vitamin D all the time. I said what how do you treat them?
- 31:17Oh, we give them my D2
- 31:1950,000 units once a week
- 31:22I said do you think that's helping them?
- 31:24Do you use anything with it? Do you give them K2? Do you give them D3? What about D3?
- 31:28And then the typical response I'm never I don't know what that is
- 31:32And so that's the stuff that really frustrated me so if you want to know what the biggest
- 31:37I don't know if you want to call it alive at the misconception
- 31:40I guess I would say would be that everything that you learned
- 31:44Is exactly the truth and it's really not because they teach you to use D2
- 31:49They teach you about TSH to check thyroid. They teach you about looking at the B12 level in the body
- 31:55You see if it's if it's adequate or not
- 31:58That and that's none of those things are true
- 32:01So yeah, it's the frustration. I think that's the biggest thing and then your then your clients and patients come in with
- 32:07those
- 32:08Misconceptions as well. Yes
- 32:10And when you start talking like this they look at you like why did my doctor tell me that
- 32:14Yeah, it's an it's a nerve. It's it's a nerve ring and it's it and I don't really want to step on other doctor's feet
- 32:21Because they're just they're just ignorant to it. They don't they don't know because they weren't taught
- 32:26You can't know something if you don't know right? So it's like
- 32:29Do you hold them accountable for that? No, I hold a system accountable for that
- 32:33I think that in the end, I mean that we're gonna have to change the way we do education
- 32:38And that's where it's gonna get better. I mean, I believe that that is one half and it's just gonna take time
- 32:43Yeah, we're there. So one thing you want to bring up and I'm gonna make sure before I ask you questions
- 32:47You have that genetics like how important are genetics for people getting well because we talk about
- 32:52Jeans and you know all of this and my the reason I'm sick is because my genetics told me I was sick or
- 32:59I have a death sentence because my mom got cancer. I'm gonna get cancer
- 33:04So what part does genetics really play in the health decline? Yeah, I mean, I think it's it's crucial
- 33:10I mean, I would say that it's probably one of the most important things that we do for patients that get so much benefit for them
- 33:16And to me, and I told the patient that when you come out of the womb and the babies hand it to the mother
- 33:21They should give you the genetic report with it for the baby
- 33:24I think with that you could really help that child to go through and navigate through life in a way that would prevent a lot of problems
- 33:32And the reason I know that is because you know
- 33:35genetics back when I was in medical school nobody talked much about that. I mean, we knew there are genes
- 33:40We knew what some of the genes were now we've mapped out the entire human genome 20,000 genes
- 33:46Now we're starting to learn what genes do
- 33:48That's the difference see because we knew what they were genes were
- 33:52We've got them all labeled into the names they have RSI numbers on all the things now gene expression
- 33:57The problem yes now we're starting to think about what genes actually how they're expressed how
- 34:02How you and not only that but how can you
- 34:05Change the expression of genes and that's the cool part about it because I can tell you a patient
- 34:11It comes to me and says look my I've got three family members got Alzheimer's disease
- 34:15I don't want to have Alzheimer's disease
- 34:17And I can tell you there are genes that set you up to have Alzheimer's disease these these genes which these apoe genes which trigger
- 34:25Dislippidemia in the brain can lead to all kind of tangles and things which we now know are associated with it
- 34:31And in not only that if you're a poor detox or you're a poor methylated
- 34:35From genetics and you can't detox well and you've got heavy metals
- 34:39Cross into blood brain barrier and allow them in particular
- 34:43What do you find in every patient all tops you that Alzheimer's is high aluminum levels?
- 34:47And so when you've got those genes in a family history you're high risk
- 34:52Yeah, so what can you do well the genetic report and powers you and I had one lady said I don't want to know my genes
- 34:58I said why she said because I just worried about them. I said wouldn't that
- 35:03What doesn't empower you to do something to help yourself and I told her like I now I know you know you've had these genes
- 35:10I can actually tell you what to do to prevent those heavy metals from crossing your blood barrier
- 35:13You can detox them right you can get them out
- 35:16You can quit putting them in your body
- 35:18Find ways to do that
- 35:20We know the disilluminum. We know how to help you methylate well
- 35:23We can help you do that if you're have disillipidemia less monitor the lipids. Let's give them balance
- 35:29Let's balance the cell membranes inside your brain so that they can actually do what they're supposed to do in detox or where they're supposed to
- 35:36That's where the genetic pieces come into play and I didn't get taught that in medical school
- 35:41And they already taught me about that
- 35:43When methylation came out and everybody started talking about methylation then you probably heard about that a long time ago
- 35:49It is a big piece of puzzle, but it's such a small piece of the puzzle. It's not the puzzle right a lot of people think it's that's it
- 35:55Right I hear these podcasters when they're talking about methylation. All we're gonna methylate everybody
- 36:00We're giving them methyl groups and yeah, we're gonna help them and and they become popular now
- 36:04They don't talk about you know that you can over methylate people and when that happens they're not happy
- 36:10You know I had one poor fellow that's tried to help himself by going down to herd of podcas and went down about a bunch of B vitamins
- 36:16And over methylated and end up in the emergency rooms attack a cardia in an anxiety, you know panic attack and oh, I've done that
- 36:25I've done high-dose hydroxychobalamin sublingual and I'm like there you go a little a little a little was good and
- 36:32Too much it does
- 36:34Yeah, a little bit anxiety and get attacked worry him, but I'm like what did I do?
- 36:37It's like I overdid it yeah, so these other genes
- 36:40So you're just talking about MTHFR must the most popular one gets all the press but there's many others
- 36:45There's MTHFS there's there's so many other parts of this puzzle that you can put all together
- 36:51And to know how to use that really is important
- 36:53So I think when you do genetic testing one people you have to really go over with them to the point that they understand it
- 37:00You can't just send them a video and say watch this video and you're gonna get it that that just doesn't work
- 37:05You have to show them where this how this fits into your life
- 37:09Because it's not as simple just looking at MTHFR and saying oh, you need methyl vitamins. It doesn't it's not it doesn't work that way
- 37:17That's of most people are doing and that's what they're doing and there's a lot of people on it and I'm and Mitch how to say it wrong
- 37:23Um, and what is it?
- 37:25M H M T H F R M T H F R okay, I have the mother gene. Yes
- 37:32M T H F R why am I smashing this up?
- 37:35T H F R yeah, it's travel day
- 37:38M T H F R that's right
- 37:39Oh, there's so many more but they they labeled themselves. I have the M T H F R gene
- 37:45M T H F R
- 37:46Can we tell me that yeah, so that's my my whole world is broken, right?
- 37:50Yeah, I have the gene. That's why my life is screwed. I'm doomed. Yeah, what can I do?
- 37:56Yeah, well then you have to like a CO methyl transferase and all the other pieces of the both of the volume of D
- 38:01The genes of VDR to be D TAP VDR TAC that there's oh there's so many pieces of the puzzle that fits together
- 38:08The cool thing about it is you can take those genetic reports though and actually come up with actionable items
- 38:14And that's the thing I really like about it
- 38:16And that's where people don't really realize that they you can actually change somebody's life by changing their gene expression
- 38:22Absolutely with nutrigenomics
- 38:25So nutrigenomics changing epigenetics
- 38:28The changes in that expression. How cool was that? I mean super you're not doomed and you can you can do it with vitamins food
- 38:35Yes mindset. Yes grounding. Yes detox detoxing. Yeah, because having metals trigger
- 38:42Gene expression like crazy. Yeah, you have this freedom jar where everyone puts their meds in
- 38:48What is one of the drugs that was the most shocking that someone got off of?
- 38:54No doubt about it 100%
- 38:56Well, there's two. I'll give you two that the two most popular ones SSRI drugs
- 39:01You know these are like pros act and things like that in the second would be like pro suck
- 39:06You know acid blockers. So those ones. That's the two most common they get that and that what's well
- 39:12And then I'll say that if I had an a third. Yeah, it would be statins statins
- 39:17someone comes in right
- 39:19And you help them. Yeah, and they had this crazy drug that they dumped into the the big jar. Yeah
- 39:28Would you have any of those? Yeah, I mean we have a lot of not the most common up. The question was the people
- 39:33Yeah, so have any people like that. Yeah, so what in so I know that they're statins
- 39:38There's you know the the common ones on the right in the in the jar
- 39:42But what is some like meds that it kind of shocked you that they got off of these all Adderall Adderall
- 39:48Yeah, I mean these these drugs which have been they think they can't live without them
- 39:52Yeah, and they've been on for years and and I don't know if you know this
- 39:57But do you realize that SSRI drugs were never made to be used for more than six weeks
- 40:01And their people have been on for years and and they're dangerous
- 40:05I mean after a period of time they're not good for you obviously
- 40:08Or they wouldn't have that limitation on the amount of times they were supposed to be used for
- 40:13And so yeah, I mean we have patients that have all kinds of drugs that they put in there
- 40:16I mean you if you could name the drug they're probably one in there. I'm not kidding
- 40:21I mean in a way we get people off of those is kind of interesting because we use their genetics
- 40:26And we can tell them from their genetic report what their neurotransmitters are doing
- 40:31So let's say for us using a good example
- 40:33Let's say that you're
- 40:34Serotonin you're not making Serotonin
- 40:38So a doctor sees you and you're depressed and he says oh
- 40:42Warren we're gonna give you a SSRI drug. This is gonna help to keep the
- 40:47The Serotonin in the the synapse longer so that you will feel better
- 40:51Okay, so he gives it to you go on you start taking it for one week you feel better
- 40:56After a week is starts losing its efficacy
- 40:58Okay, and then what happens is you go back to the doctor and say doc is not working anymore. What do you think he does the upset?
- 41:04He ups it. So he gives you a bigger dose you go back and you feel a bit better for a little while longer
- 41:10And then you start feeling like it's not working again. Mm-hmm. So you go back to the doctor
- 41:14Well this time you when you go back to second time usually you're saying we're gonna change it
- 41:18Switched it to a different one or add to it all right, so we're gonna add another one
- 41:23Yeah, that's what happened
- 41:25So not realizing what a little bit of well brewed trend with a little bit of effect serve with a little bit of
- 41:32All of it. Yeah, and people are on multiple these right so they come in they have this going on
- 41:38We get their genetic reports back it comes back that they're not making serotonin. Okay, that's their problem
- 41:43They're not making serotonin
- 41:45So when you're taking a serotonin uptake inhibitor, but you don't make serotonin
- 41:50Do you see a problem? There's nothing to inhibit the uptake of
- 41:54That's why initially it feels a little bit better because the little bit that you might be making
- 41:59It helps a little bit
- 42:01Then over time though what happened is the drug then you hire doses
- 42:05What what do you get you get the side effects it because there's there's no more
- 42:09No, there's no serotonin. Yeah, there's no serotonin. So our job is to look at their genetics
- 42:14Are they making serotonin or not making it if they're not making let's not let's make them make it
- 42:19How can we do that we could take their genetic report and give them things like five HTP
- 42:23Other things which can help they stimulate their body down the pathways to make
- 42:28serotonin
- 42:30Isn't that cool so if it makes sense to me well
- 42:33So what you wouldn't want to do is have them doing that and being on a serotonin reuptake inhibitor
- 42:37You get a condition called serotonin syndrome which should be bad, but we so what we do is we start to
- 42:42Increase their serotonin production, but at the same time
- 42:45Weeding them off of their SSRI drug so they get the benefit of feeling better because they're making serotonin now
- 42:51Just like they were on the drug, but they can now get off the drug
- 42:55The thing you can't do if you can't just stop the drug. That's dangerous very bad
- 42:59And that's very dangerous and so we yet we've had people that come to us that want to get off these medicines
- 43:04And that's why the freedom jars getting told or every day is because they are and we're using genetics to help us do that
- 43:10I'd love to you the name that freedom jar because it is I mean being on medications
- 43:14Feels like you're broken and you feel like you're in chains something's wrong with it at one time
- 43:19Yeah, yeah, yeah, so do you know what it feels like?
- 43:22I mean you feel broken you feel depressed you you're relying on a drug, you know lucky for me. It didn't work
- 43:28Very well, so you know, I had a 5% I must not make serotonin
- 43:33Well, wait, so let's say you get let's say you get on these drugs and then you don't get the benefit
- 43:38But you have more and more of them
- 43:40What is the side effect of taking these serotonin ripped? I mean, it could be suicide
- 43:44It can be exact it could be like it's right on the box. Yes, it tells you right on there. Yeah
- 43:50And so you're I consider it. Yeah, you take a patient that's already depressed
- 43:55You put him on a drug that has a side effect on making them be suicidal. Does that make any sense at all?
- 44:00No, especially if you don't know if they're not making serotonin
- 44:02Right, and how many doctors are checking that they're not checking it
- 44:06You have to check it. What it should be malpractice that you don't I think it is yeah
- 44:10Just like I think it's malpractice if you put people on estrogen drugs
- 44:14Which without checking whether they're making e4 if you're making e4 and making cancer out of that you probably
- 44:20That's a bad thing. Yeah, it's not good. No, there's too many things like that happening
- 44:24There they doesn't have to be this way. That's something really important to to think about it's before you take a medication
- 44:31Hmm be really damn certain
- 44:34That that doctor thought it through because you do need to be your own doctor. You can't just
- 44:39You know like we said, you know, you just can't trust everyone no matter who it is
- 44:43You you have to get multiple opinions. You have to really understand the condition
- 44:50What is this drug going to do? What are the consequences? What are some of the and with AI today?
- 44:55People can ask these questions, which is really nice. Yeah, that's good and they should
- 45:00I mean, I tell you know, I tell patients all the time what we do with science
- 45:04And I approve what you need. I'm just not handing you something to you try this that might work for you
- 45:09Yeah, I'm going to show you what you need based on science
- 45:12So if you have a low serotonin, I'm going to have you make serotonin
- 45:15I'll know if you're not using b12 so I know I can give you the right form of b12
- 45:19Because I did the test to show what you need
- 45:21And some people can get sick from certain forms right and if I give you the right kind you're going to get well
- 45:26Because there's science behind all that and I have the research to show you if you really want to see it
- 45:30I have it and I can prove it and that's why people like coming because they're getting well because they're getting results
- 45:36And the results come because we use science to back up everything we do
- 45:39This is not just pie in the sky, you know
- 45:42Wulu medicine. Yeah
- 45:44This after the energy stuff a little bit
- 45:48But anyway, this is why people fly from over the world to see it. It is and I I feel like that in the end
- 45:52The whole thing about Cheryl and Cheryl Cheryl. Well, they see Cheryl too. She's a big part of our practice
- 45:57I mean, I wouldn't do the one for her. I wouldn't
- 46:00She's the she's the driving force that you got me started. Yeah, so she has that positive energy
- 46:06Yeah, she's alike. So was it when Cheryl worked with your grandson and you saw that
- 46:11Autism reverse and was that kind of like the telltale that was the aha moment. Yeah. Yeah, it was like oh my gosh
- 46:17There's something to this though
- 46:19And uh, it was it was it happened pretty quick too. I mean it didn't it wasn't like it took a long time
- 46:24She started detoxing quit vaccinating them started to detox him
- 46:29It was like it just everything started to change
- 46:33And I was like my gosh, what are you doing?
- 46:35And she started telling all this stuff. I'm like, oh, I mean I need to learn that. I don't know. You think about that
- 46:40I'm a doctor. I actually know that
- 46:42Got like an old people and that's what that was the aha moment for sure. There's no doubt about it
- 46:47It was 100% what what started this practice
- 46:50That's that's beautiful, right? So you're a medical doctor
- 46:54Your wife married a medical doctor. Yeah
- 46:57She saw that medicine wasn't able to help her grandson but the love
- 47:01For that grandchild. Yeah, drove a decision. I drove it
- 47:04Yeah, drove a decision and didn't take no for an answer
- 47:07That's the power of women by the way. Yes, and we're just like
- 47:11Meet sacks over here, you know
- 47:14They they go through uh, now you guys both have beautiful hearts
- 47:17So and then you you you don't take no for an answer and you have hope
- 47:21Well, and then that
- 47:23So I think that's true of life, though
- 47:25It's like you know if you lean into something enough and don't take no for an answer
- 47:31You get a result and that result can change not just your life with your grandson's life
- 47:35But how many hundreds and now thousands of lives
- 47:40Based on the love so it all started in love. That's amazing. Love is the strongest medicine. God is love
- 47:46Yeah, I love it. Yes. Well, this is it. I listened to a song called Love is the Medicine
- 47:50I love it. That's a good song out there. I'm not going to listen for that one
- 47:53Individuals will travel across the country. Yeah, to see you. What is one of the most challenging cases that you saw?
- 47:59Oh, probably a vaccine injury
- 48:02COVID vaccine injury
- 48:04fellow was
- 48:06Telling normal working had no no medical issues whatsoever
- 48:13Started
- 48:14Was working in a job where he was was had to get the vaccine. He didn't want it his family
- 48:19I guess you might call it a crunchy mom and you know family was living
- 48:24Healthy lifestyle, etc
- 48:26But he had to get the he had to get the vaccine because he was
- 48:29He was working in a place where they they required it and so
- 48:33He got the vaccine. It was very short time afterwards. I'm talking and probably two weeks afterwards. He told me
- 48:41That he started half symptoms in the symptoms were that he he would wake up at night and he felt like he was dying
- 48:49And he said I've never had illnesses before I'd not had nothing and he would wake up at night
- 48:56And in fact, it was so bad. He wrote his wife
- 48:58Notes to say tell the kids a love them and you know dying and and this was totally off the wall for him
- 49:04This was not this is a healthy guy. He was chopping wood. He was at a camp. He was doing all the things
- 49:09He came to me and he was he was he was at a point where he was he was in a he was in a walker to emulate
- 49:16He couldn't even walk anymore. It was very
- 49:20heartbreaking to hear his story and his wife
- 49:24Lovely little wife and bunch of old children
- 49:27Coming with him and just in tears about how her husband is no longer who he used to be
- 49:33I mean, he's awake. He's he went to he had been to I think four neurologists
- 49:38He went and had CT scans MRIs of his brain. He went to the ER several times
- 49:43She'd take him to the ER when he felt like he was dying
- 49:45They can never find anything
- 49:48And it was such a challenging case because I just wondered if he would in fact he he was
- 49:53He was considering, you know, sending it all. He said I can't look like this
- 49:58Lost his job. He couldn't go back to work yet. He had a good job in a place where he was an engineer
- 50:03He ran meetings. He could no longer run the meetings. I mean, he just basically couldn't work anymore
- 50:07He could walk his life was turned upside down very challenging case and so
- 50:14That was a really hard one. I think I think that when he started to turn around that was that was a key
- 50:21Whenever I started helping this guy detox and we began to detox and we were using epinol and the these spike protein
- 50:30dissolving protein dissolving
- 50:32Supplements of different things that we gave him and he started slowly getting better and when I saw that
- 50:39I had hope and he had hope and so all the I want to end it all went away
- 50:44You know, he was a believer and we were able to talk about that and how God had a plan for his life
- 50:49And then this was probably not it and we were praying with them then and so he slowly but surely started turning around
- 50:56And he actually got better and he was able to go back to work and
- 51:00But it was a challenging case because he he had been to many many doctors
- 51:04And and that that was probably one of them, you know
- 51:07I get challenging cases all the time more and it because many people come to me have been to many doctors
- 51:13And I had one lady she said look you're the 20th doctor. I'll be into if you can help me. I'm done
- 51:18Right. Okay. Thanks
- 51:20But no pressure. No way. Okay. Uh, she had a young girl. Did you get her well?
- 51:25You're not you. She's her body got her dog. God helped her. Yeah. Um, I was just a hand helping to do that
- 51:31But yeah, she was she wouldn't come out of a room or dog or daughter wouldn't come out of the room. She was
- 51:36basically
- 51:38antisocial
- 51:40Uh, when she got better she posted on Facebook. This was the picture of my daughter at a restaurant
- 51:45And she said most people it's what's a captions on her. It said most people wouldn't think anything about this
- 51:51But my daughter hasn't been out of the house for years
- 51:54And now she is at a restaurant just something simple like that. Yeah. Now she's driving her car
- 51:59She's going to college. She's doing all that stuff for that she would mom never thought she would do
- 52:04That sounds like love is the foundation once again of your
- 52:07Yeah, that's very good. It's beautiful. Yeah, she was she was talked to
- 52:13Um
- 52:14Overlaid with tabbie adults you're you can really not can really
- 52:18Yep, I can't remain not being antisocial and not being want to be around people and
- 52:23Man, I I still have some of that habit
- 52:25Because you you develop these habits and then you're like I don't believe that now now now I'd say I guess I'm antisocial
- 52:31Because I just want to be home with my family. That's a good. That's a good
- 52:34But I had to get positive mindset like
- 52:37Before I came here because I used to think oh, I have to leave my family and I was in prayer and
- 52:43God spoke to me, you know in my heart. This is what I heard
- 52:48Go there and have a good time have a better attitude about it like you enjoy yourself expect miracles like don't don't go into this
- 52:55Like you're going to leave your family take the love of your family
- 52:58And what you've created and share that love and lift other people up and share the joy and share the love
- 53:04And that's what you guys do, you know as I glance over at Cheryl and
- 53:08You what soon as you walk into room you feel that you feel that anticipation and hope and love
- 53:12And it just exists from both of them tears flow many times from the catches that we talked to people on the day
- 53:19They leave with hope
- 53:21I just I was on a podcast the other day with a lady and she was storing that she said the only doctor ever came to the number one
- 53:28Pray with me ask me if he could pray with me and number two when I left there always felt like there was hope
- 53:34Yeah, I thought that was amazing people need hope so nicotine
- 53:38Is it is it is it dangerous is it safe does it help people
- 53:42So the literature goes back a long ways on nicotine because they've been using nicotine for a long time
- 53:47Yeah, they have uh, yeah, so it got a lot of bad rap whenever the the
- 53:52CDC has started to allow
- 53:55tobacco companies to add things that made nicotine
- 53:58We're not nicotine, but cigarettes
- 54:01addictive
- 54:02And then the thought was well it's a nicotine. That's addictive. Mm-hmm. Well nicotine is not addictive true
- 54:08I know do you know your body has nicotine receptors. I do know that okay. I don't know if everyone else knows that
- 54:14I do I know I know enough to be dangerous and when the when the nicotine receptors are occupied by the wrong things
- 54:21Things go sideways in your body and so
- 54:25Occupying it with nicotine actually can actually be beneficial for you
- 54:28It up regulates many things in your body through a new system
- 54:33Just the literature goes so far as it's for weight loss. It's for mood stabilization
- 54:39It's for healing. It's for pain control
- 54:41It's for all the things you can find just google nicotine and put that word in beside it
- 54:46You'll find articles to come up and show that people used to use it for those things
- 54:51And you know it made me think about the days whenever you know remember they
- 54:55talked about doctors recommended people smoke
- 54:58Here those days. Yeah, that can be 50s. I guess it won't remember it
- 55:01But I've heard it and you don't know because you went around yeah
- 55:04But doctors used to recommend people smoke and at that time, you know
- 55:08You could get your tobacco and roll your own. It wasn't like these cigarettes now
- 55:12They're loaded with all these chemicals. So you walk into the doctor's office and he's like I'm expressing
- 55:18I'm depressed. I need to lose weight in the doctor would say you need to buy you need it
- 55:22You need to smoke some cigarettes. What I get you some camels. Yeah, we're gonna
- 55:26You need to subscribe you some camels. Yeah, no, this is why doctors prescribe
- 55:30I don't know what I'm talking smoking and I would definitely say that nicotine can be very beneficial for people
- 55:36And you know what the thing that was kind of funny and I know this research came out recently that
- 55:41During COVID the people that you thought would be the worst because they smoked and all this stuff
- 55:47They didn't end up on ventilators and why was that we nobody can figure that out now
- 55:52We kind of know that when they were smoking and they were using tobacco that the nicotine receptors were occupied by nicotine
- 55:59And not by a spike protein producing garbage, right? So whenever that got into your body
- 56:05And it got on the nicotine receptors then yeah, you got you got a bad thing happen to you
- 56:09And you might end up on a ventilator in a hospital and 80% of those people died
- 56:13So but the people that smoked didn't do that
- 56:16So that was kind of interesting super anxious
- 56:19So for me as a doctor now to say, you know, here. I am wearing a nicotine patch
- 56:24It serves up some controversy and people and they say well, did you smoke?
- 56:28No, I never did smoke but I definitely could tell you that nicotine is important to help you with your health
- 56:34And I think there's a lot of people out there now that would say that if you wear nicotine patches
- 56:38They can actually stimulate your body to heal and be healthier and
- 56:42So why not? Yeah, I can't eat enough eggplant. That's for sure
- 56:47Where are the where do you get nicotine in nature, right besides tobacco
- 56:52Tomatoes, potatoes, they're in plants and but they're all nightshades. You know, eat those
- 56:58Yeah, we're all bad for yeah, that blows my mind functional medicine doctors
- 57:02They just run away from nightshades completely
- 57:05But if you cook the food and there's so much nutrition like in your missing out
- 57:10I mean God didn't make it for you to run away out the nightshade right now. Well, so it has nicotine same with CBD
- 57:16I mean you okay, can I have an order of supper in your body too, you know, and CBD really helped me
- 57:22See me my house
- 57:23I haven't used it in a while, but I was I overused it. I was taking high doses and I was getting tired
- 57:28That's like that'll do it a dinner my wife's like you are sleeping on the table
- 57:32I'm like, I don't want something's wrong. I'm gonna get my blood work down. Yeah. Well, I'll say this before somebody runs out and buys nicotine patches
- 57:38Yes, or now
- 57:41You have to get the right time because I'm toxic my daughter-in-law. He was this kind of funny story
- 57:46She heard about the nicotine patches and she's like I'm gonna get me some so she goes out before we could get over her
- 57:52And she goes and buys herself some down a CVS
- 57:55She's sick as a dog right she puts it on she's sick. She's ready throwing up. I mean just really miserable
- 58:01My wife goes up to the house where she's at and says I'm like what I'm wrong with you
- 58:05And she told her she had the nicotine patches and she said let me see those
- 58:08She looked at the ingredient list has got all these chemicals in just like it would be if you're smoking cigarettes, right
- 58:14And it's all these chemicals are added to a trilline-based carcinogenic hormone
- 58:19So there are certain brands that are good and so I'm that are really not same with CBD
- 58:24I would say that's what we've been using and I haven't had any side effects from it at all
- 58:29What has it improved your health? Oh, I think I have so much more energy when I use it
- 58:34That's the main thing I noticed I haven't been using it long
- 58:36We just started doing this recently, but I can tell you for sure definitely increase your energy
- 58:40So long haulers are getting their taste and smell back from taking nicotine
- 58:44Yeah, you get in the nicotine at displaces
- 58:47I guess it's a spike protein or whatever's on those receptors. I mean they get your smell back and taste back
- 58:52That's amazing. That's a huge find. You know so many people are gonna be sharing that. Oh, they need to yeah
- 58:58That's awesome and nicotine is giving you energy just make sure you get organic and all that are used with the right
- 59:02Clove oil and essential oils and not a bunch of petroleum-based hormone disrupting compounds, but right nicotine can be really helpful
- 59:09This is share that share that yeah share share that with people. Yeah, same. He lost their taste and smell the same as
- 59:16With CBD CBD can be really helpful for people, but there's a lot of garbage on the market. Yeah, and
- 59:21Can be contaminated with heavy metals
- 59:24Ham is one of the plants that it takes everything out of soil. It's a it's a bioremediator
- 59:29It does and set some flowers. You don't get the right product from the right soil
- 59:32So when we made our own CBD products, I had to do that remember the landlabel gums. Yeah, so we made our own price
- 59:37We tested the soil for we sent it away tested for 2,500 different contaminants found clean
- 59:44soil at least as much as you can you know everybody's fallen out of the air now
- 59:48But and then getting the product made in the right with the right at the right terpenes, right?
- 59:53CBD's terpenes are key. Yeah, CBD is not just CBD. You see me G there's CBN. There's all different kinds of terpenes in there
- 1:00:00So that's the right kind and you gotta find something that's really quality a good full spectrum. Yeah, yeah
- 1:00:05CBT is really helpful. So we got to wrap up. It's been wonderful having you on the show your great friend
- 1:00:12Remember the landlabel you're doing so it's someone wants to to find you guys and they want some help
