- 0:15Let's do this second hour of the morning show with Preston Scott Show fifty one
- 0:20forty six. He's Grant Allen. I'm Preston, Friday, April twenty sixth.
- 0:26Great to be with you, friends, ruminators, wherever however you listen
- 0:31to us. Thank you so much for sharing time. We do our very
- 0:36best to not let you down and deliver things to you that you need to
- 0:39know, and we bring guests that we think are worthy of your time.
- 0:45And so we segue to a visit that we do monthly. He's kind enough
- 0:49to carve out time for us. He is the gun Writer. If you
- 0:52go to the website Thegunwriter dot substack dot com, you will find the work
- 0:57of Lee Williams. Lee, good morning, Welcome, good morning, how
- 1:00are you doing. Thanks for the invite. As always, Man, I
- 1:04appreciate so much the work you're doing to stay vigilant and keep us vigilant as
- 1:10it relates to our Second Amendment rights. And Lee, I got to tell
- 1:14you what I thought was, I don't know, how do you find something
- 1:18encouraging in a case where someone lost their life but all of a sudden,
- 1:22things in Arkansas have taken a weird almost dark Turn tell us the latest.
- 1:27Yeah, we reported. I think we wrote five stories in total this month
- 1:34on the March nineteen killing of Brian Melanowski. He was the airport executive director
- 1:40there in Little Rock, and the first thing to come out was a statement
- 1:42from his family which said what everybody already knew. He was defending himself.
- 1:48He didn't know he was shooting at federal agents. And his attorney said something
- 1:53in that statement too that a lot of people have missed. I don't like
- 1:57talking about what Brian was accused of doing by the ATF because he's not here
- 2:00to defend himself. But let's say for a minute that he was guilty of
- 2:05everything ATF said. Of selling firearms without a federal firearms license, he would
- 2:10have gotten probation or probably some type of diversion program pre trial diversion. He
- 2:19never would have seen the inside of a prison, brother, and that to
- 2:23me is damning for that serious and finger quotes of a crime. He was
- 2:29shot and killed right after that. April seventeenth, the Attorney General of Arkansas,
- 2:36Tim Griffin, demanded to see bodycam footage from ATF. But then a
- 2:42week later, the Senators Cotton and Boozman, a couple of Republicans from Arkansas,
- 2:47but out of statement, they'd talked to ATF and this is going to
- 2:52be difficult for your listeners to believe. ATF agents when they hit the ome,
- 2:54none of them were wearing body camps. There is no body cam footage.
- 2:58Policy says they're supposed to have them. Yeah, yeah, absolutely,
- 3:02And that type of encounter is exactly what bodycams were invented for. You're going
- 3:09to go into a man's home and judge has given you a warrant to violate
- 3:13his Fourth Amendment rights. There's a possibility they were going to use for us,
- 3:17and none of them wore a bodycam. The only video footage was from
- 3:21that raid was from Brian's ring camera, which is about two seconds long,
- 3:27right before an AHTF agent's covers that camera with a piece of tape. It's
- 3:32shocking, it's stunning. They went in there knowing full well that they didn't
- 3:39have that serious of a charge. If they hit him with ten car loads
- 3:43of agents and shot him in the head. He died two days later.
- 3:49Then, once he has spoken out, now the Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin
- 3:55again his mum. He's suddenly Mum. I sent him fifteen questions man that
- 4:01I wanted answers for his handler wouldn't allow him to be interviewed. He said
- 4:06he wasn't available for an interview or a video conference interview or an interview over
- 4:12the phone, which is odd because I never told his handler when I wanted
- 4:16to interview. I guess he's just not available for me. The most important
- 4:21question I sent him was whether or not the Attorney General there had been in
- 4:26contact with the US Attorney to maybe try and work out some type of moratorium
- 4:30on these deadly ATF raids until the questions could be answered on the March nineteenth
- 4:35killing. But no, he didn't respond to that. The Morning Show with
- 4:40Preston Scott on News Radio one hundred point seven w FLA, We're trying to
- 4:49make sense of it all. Website Thegunwriter dot substack dot com. The emails
- 4:58are brilliant. You'll get them as articles come out, which is usually once
- 5:02or twice a week. And Lee Williams, the writer is with us.
- 5:08Lee the next steps from your perspective as a reporter, what are they?
- 5:15I've got a story coming out probably Monday on these ATF Special Response teams as
- 5:20they call them, and we are comparing them not to other federal law enforcement
- 5:28agencies that have special response units and some military special response units. And let
- 5:34me just say this. You know, if you want to be a member
- 5:36of the Secret Service Counter Assault Team, that's a ten week course. Their
- 5:41sniper courses even longer. Bore Tax, the border patrols tactically inn of Bore
- 5:46Tax, you know, the one that took out that shooter down at Uvaldi
- 5:50and the one that caught that fleet, that guy who escaped from prison.
- 5:54Theirs is a massively long training course. And of course you've got Delta which
- 5:59is six months long, Debrew which is six months long, Marsk Marine Raiders
- 6:02nine month program. How long do you think atf Special Response Team training is.
- 6:09Let me ask you a question. I would say, I mean,
- 6:13you've set me up here, and the way this is going tells me it's
- 6:16less than a month. Two weeks, bro, That's what I was going
- 6:19to guess. Yep. Yeah. And they still call themselves operators when they're
- 6:25done. They call themselves operators in their literature that describes these unit. Let
- 6:30me tell you they're not operators. Operators use worse with surgical precision. These
- 6:34guys bootdoors and shoot homeowners in the head. So we're taking a hard look
- 6:39at this unit. It's leadership, it's selection, it's training, it's weapons
- 6:44to get the get it out there. This unit scares me. Preston the
- 6:46fact that they're out there and you know they target. God forbid, a
- 6:51law biding gun owner sells a firearm easy to get on their radar, is
- 6:57what I'm saying. And just just to put some context to this story,
- 7:01the guy who's running this airport, he's a he's he's just a he sells
- 7:08guns how often? I mean, what do we know about his gun selling.
- 7:12He's fifty three years old, he makes two hundred and fifty thousand.
- 7:15He made two hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year at the airport. He
- 7:17would go to gun shows and rent tables and sell guns and coins. He's
- 7:23a massive coin collector too. I one of his customers called me and told
- 7:28me that he had really helped him out getting him some coins. So you
- 7:30see tables like this at every gun show you go to. DW have a
- 7:33couple of guns, doesn't have an FFL, will sell them. But you
- 7:38know the way atf made him sound in their search for APPI David Is,
- 7:43he's supplying guns to Isis and el Cata. Not really the case here,
- 7:46bro, and Arkansas law gives a tremendous amount of freedom to people selling guns.
- 7:54If I'm not mistaken. No, you're correct, one hundred percent.
- 7:57You can. It's a private sale. You can sell a gun. But
- 8:01ATF, of course, wants to change the definition of gun dealers right now.
- 8:05They've got more rules out there that just were published on this confusing crap
- 8:13whether or not you need an FFL. It sounds like from some people who
- 8:16have read it that if you sell a gun for profit, you may you
- 8:20may need to get an FFL. Of course, the Second Amendment Foundation for
- 8:24which I work and all other program groups are going to sue the hell out
- 8:28of ATF and will win. It's just Biden and the people that handle him
- 8:33flexing on gun owners again. Tell me this, Do you suspect that or
- 8:39think that there's going to be a freedom of information request on your part to
- 8:43try to get whether there was any correspondence between the United States Department of Justice
- 8:48in any form and the Attorney General for Arkansas. I never talk about what
- 8:56I'm gonna foya usually. But yes, the problem with when you for a
- 9:01ATF. I just got a response the other day from Damn near three years
- 9:05ago. So they take their time. It's it's unfortunate they're not They're the
- 9:11most opaque, they are non transparent at all, the most opaque federal law
- 9:16enforcement agency. And I'm getting sick of even calling them a law enforcement agency
- 9:18because federal law enforcement acis don't behave like this at any At some point,
- 9:24you got to think that some of these ATF agents have got to say,
- 9:28guys, what we're doing is wrong. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I
- 9:31mean, if you're an ATF agent right now and you're taking down doors and
- 9:35going in with fully automatic M fours made by Heckler and Cock and shooting homeowners
- 9:41in the head who have not committed any crimes, no criminal record, you
- 9:46know, you better take a look in the mirror to decide whether or not
- 9:48you're on the right team here. Yeah. I mean, we're talking about
- 9:52a guy that had a professional job that they could go see anytime Monday through
- 9:54Friday, right right What I would have done, and you know, to
- 10:00so many people, a lot of technical guys, you know, ring the
- 10:03doorbell wait till he comes down and answers it. He sees everybody there in
- 10:07uniform or do a call out, call him on a cell phone, come
- 10:09out with your hands up. Well, turn all the emergency lights on him.
- 10:13They had ten vehicles there. This entire neighborhood would have been bathed in
- 10:16red light. He would have known it was the police. Instead they boot
- 10:20the door, go in and shoot him. Railovation one final segment with Lee
- 10:30Williams, the gun Writer and again the website The gun Writer dot substack dot
- 10:35com. Lee, I wanted to get your thoughts. We've talked about this
- 10:39story. It's the story of a software engineer that ended up in a New
- 10:46York courtroom, and his crime was legally obtaining parts to guns and making his
- 10:56own guns. He wasn't, I mean, he's never been convicted of any
- 11:00crime. He's a software engineer or something. And now he's sitting Dexter Taylor's
- 11:05sitting at Riker's waiting a sentence. Yeah, Dexter Taylor is a martyr in
- 11:11my humble opinion. He discovered the world of gunsmithing years ago and he enjoyed
- 11:16doing it, and he was purchasing parts and components legally from various online companies.
- 11:22I know a polymer eighty and eighty percent arms have sent me kits to
- 11:26put together. Brother, it's a great time. I enjoyed. I put
- 11:28together two block clones, had the time of my life. It took me
- 11:31a lot longer than it should have, but it's fun. So, however,
- 11:35a joint ATF NYPD task force discovered that he was buying these parts illegally,
- 11:41may hit his home. He's charged with pretty much everything. Criminal possession
- 11:48of a loaded weapon, four counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon,
- 11:52five counts of criminal possession of a firearm, second degree, blah blah
- 11:56blah. So he gets convicted of all this. Of course, he's sitting
- 12:00in rikers. He'll be sentenced next month. He's looking at ten to eighteen
- 12:05years because his Second Amendment rights were violated. Like, you can't believe the
- 12:11judge in this case actually said judge abin a darkness said in an open courtroom,
- 12:18do not bring the Second Amendment into this courtroom. It doesn't exist here,
- 12:22so you can't argue Second Amendment. This is New York Appeal much.
- 12:30I mean, she's insane, she's clearly insane. The Second Amendment. Shouldn't
- 12:33your Second Amendment rights shouldn't be dependent upon your zip code. Illegal for him
- 12:37there, not illegal for us here in the Free State of Florida. What's
- 12:41so striking to me is not just the conduct of the judge and how she
- 12:46handled every part of the defense from the opening statements to the concluding statements,
- 12:52interruptions, rulings that were just just ridiculous. But the Supreme Court, Lee
- 12:58correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't the Supreme Court just slap New York in
- 13:03the face? Yeah? Yeah, absolutely. The Second Amendment Foundation is going
- 13:09to the Supreme Court. We have been granted associary over Biden's and ATF Frame
- 13:16and Receiver rule, which basically is their goat what Joe Biden likes to call
- 13:20ghost guns, and he wants to make them all illegal. Americans have been
- 13:24making firearms in their home legally since before there was the United States of America.
- 13:30And we're going to pound the hell out of ATF and the Biden Harris
- 13:33administration because of this, because of this nonsense. But what's insulting to me,
- 13:39Lee is New York Rifle and Pistol Association versus Bruin. They prevailed the
- 13:46United States Supreme Court. Want, I mean, they won. How is
- 13:50this even happening. We're seeing in all these Blue states what I call post
- 13:56Brewin tantrum laws, where they're making decisions and passing legislation knowing full well it's
- 14:03unconstitutional and flies in the face of the Supreme Court's Bruin decision, but they
- 14:07do it anyway because they know we're going to have to sue and we're going
- 14:11to have to spend our members' money. Thank god, we have such good
- 14:13members and Gun Owners of America and NRA and National Associating National Association Gun Rights
- 14:20are going to spend all of their money. It's law there, man.
- 14:22They're trying to break us financially, but we're going to keep doing it.
- 14:26Good for you, Lee, thank you as always for the time. I
- 14:30appreciate it very much, and we'll visit again next month. Sounds great.
- 14:35Thanks for the invite, brother, take care, Thank you, sir,
