- 1:44Speaker 3: dot com. All right, I'm going to imagine we've got
- 1:48Speaker 3: a lot here. A lot of good happened over the
- 1:50Speaker 3: last couple of days in sports, certainly for Team USA.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Let's get to some weekend winners.
- 1:58Speaker 2: That's how wit it has done, right.
- 2:00Speaker 4: We can't have anyone to freak out out there.
- 2:02Speaker 5: Okay, he's got a k bark apologer, got too far.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I'm by winning. I went here and I win there.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Now, what are you doing what it takes to win
- 2:14Speaker 6: a championship?
- 2:15Speaker 7: Wow?
- 2:15Speaker 2: Winning? Well, then I guess there's only one thing left
- 2:18Speaker 2: to do. What's that win the whole thing? All right?
- 2:28Speaker 3: My first weekend winter is the Hughes family. So on Wednesday,
- 2:34Speaker 3: when Hughes scores the ot goal to send the US
- 2:37Speaker 3: to the semi finals. On Thursday, Ellen Hughes wins gold
- 2:41Speaker 3: with the women's US hockey team, and on Friday, Jack
- 2:46Speaker 3: Hughes scores two goals to help send the US to
- 2:48Speaker 3: the finals. And then, of course we know how it
- 2:50Speaker 3: ended for the Hughes family there in overtime in Italy.
- 2:54Speaker 8: So pretty decent.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Pretty decent run for the Hughes family there when it
- 2:59Speaker 3: comes to achievements only ice in Italy. You got some brothers,
- 3:03Speaker 3: you got a sister. Pretty good jeans there for the
- 3:06Speaker 3: old Hughes family.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't.
- 3:07Speaker 9: Then their mother played for women's team, coached as well.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah, assuming their father played.
- 3:15Speaker 9: Yeah, I think you mentioned it earlier too, Taylor father coached.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I believe that right. Yeah, he coached on NHL.
- 3:23Speaker 7: He was in Toronto for a little bit and all that.
- 3:26Speaker 9: So they like hockey in that family, that is what
- 3:27Speaker 9: you're saying. Yeah, and they're pretty good at it. They're
- 3:29Speaker 9: pretty decent. Golden medal's coming home.
- 3:32Speaker 8: Yeah, and they're decently impactful.
- 3:35Speaker 9: I think in those games fantastic. Well, let's stick on
- 3:40Speaker 9: the ice, let's stick with hockey for my first week
- 3:43Speaker 9: in winter. I'm just gonna give this one er to
- 3:46Speaker 9: the whole US men's hockey team, not just what they
- 3:50Speaker 9: did during the game is certainly I'm giving it to
- 3:53Speaker 9: what they did after the game. American hockey player Johnny
- 3:58Speaker 9: Goudro Kodro good dr good Drow.
- 4:02Speaker 2: You're saying it like a Louisian. I know I wanted
- 4:04Speaker 2: to say, go true.
- 4:06Speaker 9: I passed away last year due to getting hit on
- 4:09Speaker 9: a bicycle actually for a drunk driver. Well after the game,
- 4:13Speaker 9: Zach Warinski and Dylan Larkin had the idea that they
- 4:17Speaker 9: would go and bring their family onto the ice. And
- 4:21Speaker 9: so they went out and they got the children, brought
- 4:23Speaker 9: them on there and honored the late Johnny good drew
- 4:28Speaker 9: and took this team picture, which is awesome. So that
- 4:31Speaker 9: right there, we'll bring a tier to a glass eye,
- 4:34Speaker 9: no doubt honoring therefore a lot of them, a lot
- 4:37Speaker 9: of the players on the team, their former teammate certainly
- 4:39Speaker 9: a guy that would have been on the team potentially.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:43Speaker 9: And so they shared the moment, shared the spotlight in
- 4:46Speaker 9: just getting these gold medals. They thought of the bigger picture,
- 4:50Speaker 9: thought of family and uh we can learn from them.
- 4:54Speaker 10: Uh yeah, that's super Uh probably like the most emotional
- 4:58Speaker 10: moment of the weekend. Like winning great obviously also super emotional.
- 5:02Speaker 10: But to bring like your teammates kids out, hold up
- 5:05Speaker 10: his jersey and just super sad, tragic weight like young
- 5:10Speaker 10: his brother was there too and they both passed away.
- 5:14Speaker 11: It's just terrible.
- 5:16Speaker 9: They said they wanted to bring the whole family out there,
- 5:18Speaker 9: but they couldn't the gate.
- 5:19Speaker 2: This a little bit difficult.
- 5:20Speaker 10: To get the ku chuck. That's how you say it,
- 5:27Speaker 10: jump Ku chuck. Brothers class acts.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Love them those guys and who was the other guys
- 5:33Speaker 3: would fight anybody that you in front of them to,
- 5:36Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 5:37Speaker 9: Come on Olympics. Let's let's let fights happen in the Olympics.
- 5:41Speaker 10: So we were thinking about this on Friday. Do the
- 5:44Speaker 10: women hockey teams do they fight too? They get down?
- 5:51Speaker 7: I like it after.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Very much. You got to practice that because it's not
- 5:55Speaker 2: like a regular fight.
- 5:56Speaker 11: This is I'm grabbing a jersey and I'm.
- 5:59Speaker 2: You got to tie your jersey to.
- 6:01Speaker 11: Yeah, with the punch, that's gonna be hard to do. Probably,
- 6:06Speaker 11: I gotta practice that a lot.
- 6:07Speaker 9: I mean I wonder how much time for some of
- 6:09Speaker 9: those guys that spent on the ice fighting technique.
- 6:15Speaker 11: Yeah, like I would take some boxing classes experience.
- 6:19Speaker 3: If you're gonna be enforcer, you gotta go out there
- 6:22Speaker 3: like you better have something that's right.
- 6:23Speaker 9: But like with regular boots on in a street fight,
- 6:27Speaker 9: it's a lot different. It's a lot of different strategy there. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 9: it might not be great there. If you can get
- 6:33Speaker 9: the time in between the Jersey Pool and the punch.
- 6:37Speaker 9: You got something like the old past rush move, the
- 6:40Speaker 9: push pull.
- 6:44Speaker 10: I've got a couple of weekend losers and maybe just
- 6:47Speaker 10: like losers.
- 6:49Speaker 11: Uh Hunter Hess, do y'all remember him?
- 6:52Speaker 10: He's like when he's a freestyle skier that came out
- 6:55Speaker 10: and said he had quote mixed emotions about representing the
- 6:59Speaker 10: United States during the Olympics, which.
- 7:04Speaker 11: Whatever, dude, Like, you're literally at.
- 7:07Speaker 10: The pinnacle of where a lot of people want to
- 7:10Speaker 10: be and you're just gonna criticize whatever. Ended up finishing
- 7:14Speaker 10: tenth in the event. And then there were a couple
- 7:17Speaker 10: other people that also were critical. A couple other people
- 7:21Speaker 10: that represent America in the Olympics and are critical of America.
- 7:24Speaker 11: Amber Glynn she was a figure skater.
- 7:27Speaker 10: She finished outside of the medals so did not medal,
- 7:31Speaker 10: So anybody. Jesse Diggins, she also was a cross country
- 7:35Speaker 10: skier that also criticized America. She earned a bronze medal,
- 7:39Speaker 10: so third. Anybody that was criticizing America and saying that
- 7:44Speaker 10: they felt mixed emotions about representing them ended up doing terribly.
- 7:48Speaker 2: That's wild.
- 7:49Speaker 9: At least they did represent America and like that. The
- 7:52Speaker 9: one skier the half I think the half pipe skier
- 7:56Speaker 9: island go or yeah, with the China she took he
- 8:00Speaker 9: took a payday to go and compete for China. On
- 8:03Speaker 9: the other hand, women's figure skater, Oh god, I'm baking
- 8:08Speaker 9: our name. Lou Alyssa, Lou Alyssa Lou she did the opposite.
- 8:12Speaker 9: She did not yeat the pay day. That's a fantastic story.
- 8:19Speaker 9: She would definitely be a winner. Yes, and then the
- 8:21Speaker 9: island loser.
- 8:23Speaker 11: Yeah, loser.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Go live in China.
- 8:29Speaker 7: SHOT's great there, Yeah, we can winner for me. I
- 8:34Speaker 7: gotta stick with what Jake did with the with the hockey,
- 8:37Speaker 7: but all the all the comparisons in the lines that
- 8:41Speaker 7: match up. Like when I turned on the TV yesterday,
- 8:44Speaker 7: So the big graphic forty six years to the day
- 8:47Speaker 7: of the nineteen eighty miracle on ice team when they
- 8:50Speaker 7: defeated the Soviet Union. How fitting was that?
- 8:53Speaker 1: Uh?
- 8:53Speaker 7: The US women beat Canada two to one in overtime
- 8:56Speaker 7: to win gold. The men did the exact same thing,
- 8:59Speaker 7: and Jake mentioned the Hughes family. I want to mention
- 9:01Speaker 7: brock Nelson here real quick. So Rock Nelson wins gold
- 9:05Speaker 7: on the team yesterday, his uncle or his I should say,
- 9:10Speaker 7: his great uncle was on the nineteen fifty six US
- 9:16Speaker 7: hockey team, his other great uncle won the gold in
- 9:20Speaker 7: nineteen sixty, and his uncle Dave Christian was on the
- 9:24Speaker 7: nineteen eighty Miracle on Ice hockey team. So every single
- 9:28Speaker 7: gold medal that the US has ever won in hockey,
- 9:30Speaker 7: someone in brock Nelson's family has been on that roster.
- 9:33Speaker 7: So that is a really cool thing to see from them.
- 9:37Speaker 7: That is a hockey family if I have ever seen one.
- 9:39Speaker 7: So shout out to brock Nelson and the Christian family.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that was incredible, and again like for it to
- 9:46Speaker 3: be to the day that like Placid happen, it's even
- 9:48Speaker 3: more incredible. And you know, last thing on hockey, the
- 9:52Speaker 3: White House tweeting out the eagle on top of the goose.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Oh, it's fantastic, pretty good quote tweet.
- 9:58Speaker 9: They're quote tweeting justin right, I think true saying you
- 10:03Speaker 9: can't take our.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Country and you're not going to take our game.
- 10:05Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm not gonna take our country and not take
- 10:07Speaker 9: our sport. Sorry. Great's Paul Diagel.
- 10:11Speaker 3: You know we love pettin us here on OTV uh
- 10:14Speaker 3: wee can winner for me. So I'm gonna go to
- 10:17Speaker 3: LSU women's basketball beating Missouri a bazillion to fifty five.
- 10:20Speaker 3: It was oneay to fifty five. LSU basketball just dominated
- 10:24Speaker 3: the game. So like that in itself, that's an impressive
- 10:27Speaker 3: win the way they did it, but even more impressive.
- 10:30Speaker 3: And I haven't had a chance to be here last
- 10:33Speaker 3: week obviously we were out the Old Miss victory for
- 10:36Speaker 3: LSU women's basketball on the road. That was as impressive
- 10:40Speaker 3: as a victory as you will see.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Now.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Ole Miss is a good basketball team. They're a top
- 10:44Speaker 3: twenty basketball team. Right, it's not the fact that you
- 10:47Speaker 3: got to win against them, it's the fact that you
- 10:50Speaker 3: outscored them twenty four to seven in the fourth quarter.
- 10:53Speaker 3: You did not allow a field goal in the fourth quarter,
- 10:57Speaker 3: the entire quarter. You shut them down. You locked them
- 11:01Speaker 3: up on defense, your stars shine bright on offense. And
- 11:06Speaker 3: you went out there and you stole that game. Because
- 11:09Speaker 3: Ole Miss had a big lead, right, it looked like
- 11:12Speaker 3: they were going to pull away a couple of different times.
- 11:14Speaker 8: You didn't allow them to pull away.
- 11:16Speaker 3: You stayed in the game, you took their best shots,
- 11:19Speaker 3: you were still standing tall. And then you became the aggressor.
- 11:22Speaker 3: You started counterpunching out of your corner and then you
- 11:26Speaker 3: beat them and again outscoring them twenty four to seven
- 11:29Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter.
- 11:30Speaker 8: I thought it was an incredible game.
- 11:31Speaker 3: One of those games that you can kind of look
- 11:33Speaker 3: back on and depending on where LSU season ends up,
- 11:36Speaker 3: and say that was one of the defining moments of
- 11:38Speaker 3: their season.
- 11:39Speaker 8: Again, this is an old Miss team that.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Twenty one and eight on the year now, but at
- 11:45Speaker 3: that time, you know, I think they were twenty one
- 11:47Speaker 3: and six going into that game, and so that was
- 11:50Speaker 3: a good team.
- 11:51Speaker 8: I was a team that at that time was.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Eight and four in the league, just like you were
- 11:54Speaker 3: eight and four in the league at the same record.
- 11:57Speaker 3: So to go on the road, to be down multiple times,
- 11:59Speaker 3: and you don't think ole Miss after what's happened over
- 12:03Speaker 3: the last couple of months between LSU and ole Miss
- 12:05Speaker 3: won in that game. That's the biggest crowd that they've had,
- 12:08Speaker 3: I believe ever, I think it's the biggest crowd they've
- 12:10Speaker 3: ever had for a women's basket Stephen A. Smith took
- 12:13Speaker 3: a private jet to Oxford to go watch the game.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Coachio called out the fans and so they showed up
- 12:19Speaker 3: and uh, and then you know there was some bitterness
- 12:22Speaker 3: to LSU after Lshue was victorious there. But what a
- 12:26Speaker 3: game it was for LSU women's basketball. They get the
- 12:28Speaker 3: dubs seventy eight to seventy week in winter, all right,
- 12:34Speaker 3: I got one last week in winter. We are going
- 12:37Speaker 3: to stick with the Olympics.
- 12:41Speaker 8: I didn't want to play at the Jack Hughes.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Too, Taylor, do you have a message? He's flowing it up.
- 12:48Speaker 9: Okay, So my last week in winter is going to
- 12:52Speaker 9: be one of the best to ever do it, and certainly,
- 12:55Speaker 9: in my opinion, the best to do it now. Mike Tarika,
- 13:00Speaker 9: his voice and the way he interacts with interviews and
- 13:04Speaker 9: the way he can just sit there and wax poetically
- 13:07Speaker 9: about all sports and in detail about everything, the best
- 13:11Speaker 9: to do it. And he had a fantastic sign off
- 13:15Speaker 9: to the Olympics last night.
- 13:17Speaker 2: We're gonna play right here.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Because of a drought that almost lasted a half century,
- 13:22Speaker 6: those teams are revered, they are held on to forever.
- 13:24Speaker 6: And what happened today doesn't take away from the greatness
- 13:27Speaker 6: of those teams or the meeting that those teams have
- 13:30Speaker 6: in US hockey. But what you saw today was the
- 13:33Speaker 6: build of a generation, inspired perhaps by that team that
- 13:37Speaker 6: lost in twenty ten in Vancouver to the Sydney Crosby
- 13:40Speaker 6: golden goal in overtime, or the team where tj Oshan
- 13:43Speaker 6: all those shootout goals in twenty fourteen. That's when these
- 13:46Speaker 6: guys were doing what you're doing. Watch it on TV,
- 13:50Speaker 6: and they were young and they were living the dream.
- 13:53Speaker 6: So for all the young people out there, not just
- 13:55Speaker 6: the hockey, but all the Olympics you've watched, those dreams
- 13:58Speaker 6: are formed. Now, go chase him and go get him
- 14:01Speaker 6: because our country loves sports and it brings us together
- 14:04Speaker 6: unlike anything else. And if you didn't know that, if
- 14:07Speaker 6: you haven't been watching the last two weeks, you saw
- 14:09Speaker 6: it in tm USA hockey winning the goal over there
- 14:12Speaker 6: are trivel Canada here in Milan to wrap up these
- 14:15Speaker 6: twenty fifth Olympic winner games.
- 14:18Speaker 9: Greatest to do it right there? That was awesome. What
- 14:22Speaker 9: a great sign. I don't know if it's ad libbed,
- 14:24Speaker 9: I don't know if it's scripted. I don't know what
- 14:26Speaker 9: it is. It doesn't really matter. Something tells me that
- 14:28Speaker 9: he just shot from the hip a little bit. Yeah,
- 14:33Speaker 9: that's that's There's no there's no ums in there. There's
- 14:37Speaker 9: no hums. There's no nothing. It's just youre better.
- 14:41Speaker 11: We can winner Winnard Skinner. Okay, getting a lot of
- 14:45Speaker 11: run on Free Bird.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's true. Fun. Hey Siri, play free Bird,
- 14:52Speaker 2: Hey Siriah play League Greenwood? Please? Uh Lee Greenwood getting
- 14:57Speaker 2: some burns Greenwood? Oh yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 7: You want to talk about a guy setting himself up
- 15:02Speaker 7: for life off of one song? Lee Greenwood? Is that guy?
- 15:09Speaker 7: I have a weekend loser, the standing weekend loser for me.
- 15:14Speaker 7: It just it was in the news. Reason at least
- 15:15Speaker 7: someoneted to bring it up. Pete Peter's standing weekend loser
- 15:19Speaker 7: for me. This is not just because we love Raisin Kaines.
- 15:23Speaker 7: I mean, obviously our studio sponsor, we love Canes. We
- 15:26Speaker 7: see in a company they were outside of raising canes
- 15:29Speaker 7: in Seattle, Santa Ana, California, Portage, Michigan. Common theme in
- 15:36Speaker 7: those cities. Pet supporters were exposing the terror of slaughter houses. Guys,
- 15:42Speaker 7: because every Chicken combos starts with a life take and
- 15:46Speaker 7: Peter go poundsand who are you who funds Peta? I
- 15:50Speaker 7: see Peta all the time. Come out and attack these
- 15:54Speaker 7: big companies like who the hell are you?
- 15:57Speaker 2: And canes?
- 15:57Speaker 7: They handled it with class. They didn't need to acknowledge
- 15:59Speaker 7: it on about their day. They did their thing, like,
- 16:02Speaker 7: shout out to you. That's a first class company, Peter.
- 16:04Speaker 7: You can go pound hand.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So they're trying to free bird.
- 16:08Speaker 7: Yes, to tie it all back in. Yes, nice, like
- 16:13Speaker 7: that's that's you. That's a standing weekend loser. Do we
- 16:16Speaker 7: know who funds this group? Who has this much free
- 16:20Speaker 7: time on our hand to go stand outside of buildings
- 16:23Speaker 7: and harass others?
- 16:25Speaker 2: I don't know if they need much funding to do that. Yeah,
- 16:32Speaker 2: they're losers.
- 16:36Speaker 8: I didn't even see that story, and I gotta go
- 16:37Speaker 8: look it up.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Love a chicken tendy? Yeah, I love it tendy.
- 16:42Speaker 7: You mean to tell me none, none of them, None
- 16:45Speaker 7: of the people out there eat chicken at all. I
- 16:48Speaker 7: find that hard to believe.
- 16:51Speaker 9: Yeah, it's really hard to believe. A lot of people
- 16:56Speaker 9: in this world.
- 16:57Speaker 2: You see them.
- 16:58Speaker 7: You just got too much free time on your hands,
- 17:00Speaker 7: nothing better.
- 17:00Speaker 8: To do, all right, any more weekend winners or a loser?
- 17:05Speaker 8: Once going twice? So all right, we'll come back.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Uh, let's talk a little NFL draft, let's talk a
- 17:11Speaker 3: little combine. I'm headed there tonight, looking forward to being there,
- 17:15Speaker 3: checking out all the potential newest New Orleans Saints and
- 17:18Speaker 3: we'll break it all down when we come.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Back here on OTV.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Off the bench, all right, go to trash rangers dot com.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Once you go there, sign up for residential commercial service.
- 17:29Speaker 3: You can sign up for rolloff dumpsters, three different sizes
- 17:32Speaker 3: to choose from. You give them a call two two
- 17:34Speaker 3: five six one two two four seven seven and say, hey.
- 17:38Speaker 8: Here's what I've got going on at my home.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Here's the project size of my work wherever it might be,
- 17:42Speaker 3: and they're going to make sure you have the right
- 17:43Speaker 3: size dumpster every single time. Now, don't forget about the
- 17:46Speaker 3: new sanitation department as well, portable toilets, eighty a units,
- 17:51Speaker 3: to septic service.
- 17:52Speaker 8: They've got you covered there as well.
- 17:54Speaker 2: So so many.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Different things that trash Rangers is going to be able

- 18:14Speaker 9: it does not matter. We see those big red dumpsters
- 18:17Speaker 9: flying around the interstate, flying around the roads all over
- 18:21Speaker 9: Greater Batonage area, So go check them out. Trash rangers
- 18:23Speaker 9: dot com to.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Go down off his cart, I am, I am in
- 18:39Speaker 4: a way, take a look.
- 18:41Speaker 1: At towns and from the locker room to the airwaves.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Gets off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 18:58Speaker 12: All right, welcome back in ot be here on this
- 19:12Speaker 12: Monday morning.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Of course for watching us on YouTube. You see we've
- 19:17Speaker 3: got some guests here. Shelley Maull next with us, Jordan
- 19:20Speaker 3: Tabor with us as well. Got the Seeds of Hope
- 19:23Speaker 3: event coming up of course for me and Florence's mama, Shelley,
- 19:27Speaker 3: because she took.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Care of us for a long long time.
- 19:30Speaker 8: Anything that we had.
- 19:31Speaker 3: During our LSU football days, Shelley took care of and
- 19:34Speaker 3: so it's always good to see Shelley.
- 19:37Speaker 8: Yeah, I appreciate you coming on. And Jordan, good to
- 19:39Speaker 8: see you again.
- 19:40Speaker 3: And I know Seeds of Hope is something I believe
- 19:43Speaker 3: third year correct, all right, so third year of Seeds
- 19:46Speaker 3: of Hope coming up here and tell us a little
- 19:49Speaker 3: bit about the event. I know, Shelley, you and I
- 19:51Speaker 3: have been talking about it. You got some incredible panelists
- 19:53Speaker 3: that are coming to this event this year.
- 19:55Speaker 11: Yeah, basically.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Pretty chee.
- 20:03Speaker 3: I think we're having some microphone issues there, like hey,
- 20:09Speaker 3: here we go, there, here we go.
- 20:11Speaker 13: Yeah. So an evening basically spent with our community. Got
- 20:15Speaker 13: a lot of guests that are going to be there.
- 20:18Speaker 13: Our newest guest this year is John Foster is going
- 20:20Speaker 13: to be singing us some music. Yeah, but really wanted
- 20:24Speaker 13: to get together a bunch of people who I felt
- 20:27Speaker 13: would be impactful in the community to be able to
- 20:29Speaker 13: share their stories about mental health and their experiences with
- 20:32Speaker 13: mental health, just to be able to normalize those conversations.
- 20:36Speaker 3: And Jordan and I know we had you on a
- 20:39Speaker 3: year ago, kind of just remind our listeners kind of
- 20:41Speaker 3: how you got involved with Seeds of Hope.
- 20:43Speaker 14: Sure, so playing Seeds of Hope is Rain Will Bring
- 20:47Speaker 14: Flowers our It's our signature event. Rain Will Bring Flowers
- 20:52Speaker 14: is a youth suicide prevention nonprofit that was stood up
- 20:56Speaker 14: in response to the loss of my son Owen. We
- 20:59Speaker 14: lost going back in April twenty twenty three. And you know,
- 21:03Speaker 14: whenever I speak, I just always share that Owen was
- 21:06Speaker 14: wildly popular, you know, he was never bullied, he excelled
- 21:09Speaker 14: in athletics, he was starting on both sides of the
- 21:12Speaker 14: ball at Saint Michael High School as a sophomore. He
- 21:15Speaker 14: did okay in school, and he came from a home
- 21:18Speaker 14: where he was loved and supported in every way, a
- 21:21Speaker 14: home with resources, and a home grounded in faith. And
- 21:25Speaker 14: so I just say that so that your readers understand that,
- 21:28Speaker 14: you know, if a kid like Owen could fall victims
- 21:30Speaker 14: of suicide, then I feel like all of our youth
- 21:33Speaker 14: are at is at risk. And that was really the
- 21:36Speaker 14: genesis of the foundation and also the creation of Planning
- 21:40Speaker 14: Seeds of Hope.
- 21:44Speaker 9: The challenges of mental health and iOS Shelley, you deal
- 21:48Speaker 9: with it a lot. I'm over at LSU that for
- 21:51Speaker 9: not just not just people and athletes in college, but
- 21:57Speaker 9: kids of all ages that can fall victim or suffer
- 22:01Speaker 9: from mental health. So it's such a great thing that
- 22:05Speaker 9: you're doing to start. And I want to know how
- 22:08Speaker 9: did l s U kind of get involved with the
- 22:10Speaker 9: Plannet Seeds of Hopes. I see it's you, It's Joe
- 22:13Speaker 9: Burrow Foundation, the l clubs involved with it, that's LSU Athletics.
- 22:16Speaker 9: Where did where was the kind of the chemistry that
- 22:19Speaker 9: brought everything together here.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 13: Random phone call. Yeah, I've been known to take a
- 22:25Speaker 13: couple of random phone calls a year. And literally I
- 22:28Speaker 13: think he was someone had recommended that he reach out
- 22:30Speaker 13: to me.
- 22:30Speaker 2: I think he.
- 22:32Speaker 14: And okay, all right, Dan Born.
- 22:35Speaker 13: There we go. Yeah. I think that you know, probably
- 22:41Speaker 13: had a reputation of being interested in this space obviously
- 22:44Speaker 13: and had you know, gone back to get additional counseling degree.
- 22:48Speaker 13: And I'm motivated by the loss that we've had with
- 22:52Speaker 13: at LSU football had a couple student athletes that we
- 22:56Speaker 13: lost that I was working with at the time. I've
- 22:59Speaker 13: always kind of carried the torch for them and.
- 23:01Speaker 11: The work that I've done.
- 23:03Speaker 13: And when I got the phone call and heard the story,
- 23:07Speaker 13: I you know, immediately kind of figured we needed to
- 23:09Speaker 13: be on board this.
- 23:10Speaker 7: This is a kid who liked LSU.
- 23:12Speaker 13: I mean, it really kind of came down to Jordan
- 23:15Speaker 13: being persistent, although I don't think even needed to be
- 23:17Speaker 13: that persistent. Came to the office, we talked, and his
- 23:20Speaker 13: son's story was exactly like the story that I've had
- 23:23Speaker 13: in the training room ten thousand times. I mean, parents
- 23:26Speaker 13: don't really know what's going on. Kids don't really know
- 23:28Speaker 13: what's going on in their own heads. It's kind of scary.
- 23:31Speaker 13: And for me, it was just going to be an
- 23:34Speaker 13: opportunity to be able to, you know, share experiences, which
- 23:36Speaker 13: I think is really important.
- 23:39Speaker 3: And this is an event that's going to be actually tomorrow.
- 23:43Speaker 3: It's going to be six pm inside of the PMACS,
- 23:46Speaker 3: going to be hosted by Ryan Clark, Clyde Edwards. G
- 23:49Speaker 3: Lair is going to be a part of it John
- 23:50Speaker 3: Foster is going to be a part of it as well.
- 23:51Speaker 3: So Shelley, how can if someone wants to attend this event,
- 23:54Speaker 3: is it too late? Can they go ahead? Can they
- 23:56Speaker 3: still get tickets? Can they still be a part of it?
- 23:58Speaker 13: Yeah, hindred percent. So no tickets necess So there's a
- 24:00Speaker 13: place where you can sign up, but if you can't
- 24:01Speaker 13: get to your computer, it's not a problem. We would
- 24:04Speaker 13: encourage anyone and everyone. If you're sitting around and saying
- 24:07Speaker 13: that's not me, I don't really need to go to
- 24:08Speaker 13: this thing, and you're sitting around tomorrow night, you need
- 24:10Speaker 13: to get in your car, walk over if you're on
- 24:12Speaker 13: the campus and come. It's free food for twenty five
- 24:16Speaker 13: hundred people, it's free t shirts for two thousand people.
- 24:19Speaker 15: It's top class.
- 24:22Speaker 13: People that are going to be there in terms of
- 24:24Speaker 13: performing and hosting. It's always been a really incredible inspirational event.
- 24:29Speaker 13: I've really had never never heard anyone leave say gee,
- 24:32Speaker 13: that was a really downer I was a Debbie downer
- 24:34Speaker 13: kind of place. And this is an inspirational night and
- 24:36Speaker 13: it really will allow conversations to happen within families and teams.
- 24:40Speaker 9: And if I'm assuming that if you can't make it,
- 24:44Speaker 9: I'm assuming there's.
- 24:44Speaker 2: A place that they can go to kind of get involved.
- 24:47Speaker 14: Absolutely absolutely, if you're unable to make it, which I
- 24:51Speaker 14: strongly encourage that you do, you can always go to
- 24:55Speaker 14: rain Will Bring Flowers dot org to stay in touch
- 24:57Speaker 14: with our mission and the impact that we're having in
- 24:59Speaker 14: the community.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Jordan, what does it mean for you to see like
- 25:03Speaker 3: Shelley and LSU kind of you know, get behind all
- 25:06Speaker 3: of this and now you're gonna have an event inside
- 25:08Speaker 3: the PMAC to bring awareness with somebody hosting it like
- 25:11Speaker 3: a Ryan Clark who's on the national scene, Clyde Edwards Deeler,
- 25:14Speaker 3: who's you know, Clyde very publicly has been through you know,
- 25:17Speaker 3: his own struggles obviously, and to have them there supporting
- 25:20Speaker 3: this event.
- 25:21Speaker 14: It's it's amazing. I mean, it really is amazing, and
- 25:24Speaker 14: it truly takes a village. And you know, I always
- 25:27Speaker 14: speak with my wife Lisa about, you know, where we
- 25:31Speaker 14: would be, uh or where we wouldn't be without LSU
- 25:35Speaker 14: Athletics and and Shelley. You know, Shelley has the connections
- 25:39Speaker 14: with these high profile athletes that make this event a possibility.
- 25:45Speaker 14: And you know, having Jon Foster here to to to
- 25:50Speaker 14: sing a couple of songs and do the national anthem.
- 25:53Speaker 14: Things are just coming together through a lot of hard
- 25:56Speaker 14: work and relationships with with Elsh Athletics.
- 26:00Speaker 3: And you know, Matt and I both obviously, like I said,
- 26:03Speaker 3: Shelley's certainly been a big part of our lives and
- 26:06Speaker 3: certainly once we got to l s U because and
- 26:09Speaker 3: I think, Matt go back me up on this.
- 26:10Speaker 2: When you when you.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Get to campus, you think you got to figure it
- 26:13Speaker 3: out and then you realize, oh, I left home by myself.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I don't really know anybody. I got to be good
- 26:19Speaker 3: at football or whatever sport you're playing. I've got to
- 26:22Speaker 3: do a lot of things. And people like Shelley and
- 26:24Speaker 3: Jack and Bear at the time obviously big parts of
- 26:27Speaker 3: real world hits you real Yes, big parts of our transition,
- 26:31Speaker 3: because there was a lot of times where it's like,
- 26:33Speaker 3: oh man, can I do this?
- 26:35Speaker 8: What am I doing? A lot of questions into your head.
- 26:40Speaker 9: Yeah, that was a it's certainly any transition, like we said,
- 26:43Speaker 9: not just for college athletes or yeah, all kids at
- 26:47Speaker 9: all ages, and there's so much that people deal with.
- 26:50Speaker 9: So organizations like yourself and Shelley and LSU. It's awesome
- 26:54Speaker 9: that yell are all involved, and yeah, we hope that
- 26:58Speaker 9: then is a crazy success Tomara. And again for all
- 27:02Speaker 9: of those that can't get involved and can't attend tomorrow,
- 27:05Speaker 9: you can go to rain Will Bring Flowers dot org
- 27:09Speaker 9: just to see about the organization and get involved yourself.
- 27:11Speaker 3: So yeah, and again planning Seeds of Hope talking about
- 27:15Speaker 3: mental health. It's gonna be hosted by Ryan Clark. It's
- 27:17Speaker 3: going to be tomorrow six pm inside the PMAX. So
- 27:20Speaker 3: you'll have RC there, You'll have Clyde there, John Foster.
- 27:24Speaker 3: If you don't know who that is, go check out
- 27:25Speaker 3: American Idol. He was incredible during his season of American Idol.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Thank you all for coming in. Shelley always, thank you
- 27:32Speaker 3: for everything you do for us. Jordan, We appreciate your
- 27:34Speaker 3: time as always as well, and certainly we'll continue to
- 27:37Speaker 3: raise awareness for the event coming up.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Thanks absolutely, thank you.
- 27:40Speaker 8: All right, we will step away more OTB when we

- 29:39Speaker 3: don't know if it's gonna be.
- 29:41Speaker 8: I did twice. Hey, you could have been to the
- 29:44Speaker 8: super Bowl. You didn't want to go, just said.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Super Bowl it's not accurate.
- 29:49Speaker 3: A little bit though, a little bit, a little bit
- 29:51Speaker 3: in the morning exactly, a little bit sort of don't
- 29:55Speaker 3: I don't know where he's coming.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Up with us.
- 29:57Speaker 10: I think there's like a middle ground here that we
- 29:59Speaker 10: can buy. I think it's like the schedule. But also
- 30:02Speaker 10: you didn't want to go.
- 30:03Speaker 2: So that's true.
- 30:05Speaker 8: I love God, loves California.
- 30:06Speaker 11: You could have really made the schedule work.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Loves California.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Anyways, Will Helmer's our guests here in studio Louisiana. Load
- 30:15Speaker 3: have got some big things going on as always, course
- 30:18Speaker 3: form elsity baseball player, so here to talk some baseball
- 30:21Speaker 3: as well. But I saw my man boots on the
- 30:23Speaker 3: ground at Marti Gral. Oh buddy, how'd that go? Fantastic?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Couldn't have been better.
- 30:27Speaker 15: I love me some Marti Gral from New Orleans.
- 30:29Speaker 5: Yeah, so obviously hit New Orleans and then we went
- 30:32Speaker 5: down to Thibodeau. Oh man, I've never been to Thibodeaux
- 30:35Speaker 5: from Sunday and Thibodeau is just a little different. I'm
- 30:38Speaker 5: telling you what, Urt is good. I'm telling you what
- 30:41Speaker 5: everybody walks down. Have you done that before?
- 30:43Speaker 8: Is that your first?
- 30:43Speaker 5: That's my first time first Thibodeaum, Marti Gral and then
- 30:45Speaker 5: I hit you know, did some culture stuff, Church Point, Unice,
- 30:48Speaker 5: my MoU Yeah, all that, you know, section of the Louisiana.
- 30:53Speaker 15: So it's cool to see all the different cultures.
- 30:54Speaker 2: So what stuck out is that you have a highlight.
- 30:56Speaker 15: From oh, Thibodeau Sunday, and.
- 31:00Speaker 2: So what makes it? What makes it? So you were
- 31:01Speaker 2: in New Orleans where it was the heart of everything,
- 31:03Speaker 2: but then you go what you've been to I'm sure
- 31:04Speaker 2: a hundred.
- 31:05Speaker 15: Times been to New Orleans, Marty Gral, my whole life.
- 31:07Speaker 5: So you know, you do Friday, you have like Hermes
- 31:09Speaker 5: Crew Day Ta and then Saturdays and Demmian and so
- 31:12Speaker 5: I hadn't been to Thibodeaux. It's just a little different,
- 31:16Speaker 5: you know. It just feels different than you got two
- 31:18Speaker 5: day parades back to back. And then it seems like
- 31:21Speaker 5: the entire town of Thibodeau walks downtown and hits the
- 31:25Speaker 5: three Bars, Pepper's Pizza, all of them. And so it's
- 31:29Speaker 5: cool to see. And so I had a great time. Obviously,
- 31:32Speaker 5: had some drinks, had some yellow shots, yeah.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Which I mean if anybody is a yell at you
- 31:38Speaker 3: after the World Series, can you imagine being younger, would
- 31:42Speaker 3: you say three days of Marti Gras in a row?
- 31:44Speaker 5: Four days and Friday, Saturday, Sunday break Tuesday.
- 31:50Speaker 2: If I get four hours in.
- 31:55Speaker 8: If I'm not mistaken, well you ran into Lane Kiffin.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I did.
- 31:59Speaker 8: There's pretty offer my guy, though, so I could have.
- 32:03Speaker 15: Hopped on the float. Last second decision decided not to.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Yeah, there's little floats rolling away and he's like, yeah, yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 5: it didn't work out, but awesome guy.
- 32:13Speaker 15: Man.
- 32:13Speaker 5: He feels like he's really embracing the culture, which is
- 32:16Speaker 5: cool to see. But you have like you have to.
- 32:18Speaker 15: Yeah, if you're gonna wait in here as we've seen, yeah,
- 32:20Speaker 15: people haven't.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt.
- 32:22Speaker 15: You know you gotta embrace it.
- 32:23Speaker 9: No better way than from a top of a float.
- 32:25Speaker 9: Yeah right, it's pretty embracement.
- 32:27Speaker 2: I think. I'm no, I'm right there with you. Absolutely.
- 32:30Speaker 8: Uh So what else y'all got going on? Louisiana load?
- 32:33Speaker 8: I mean, I mean, mudy girl.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Obviously a big portion of it, just because I mean,
- 32:36Speaker 3: the entire state does it. But like you said, the
- 32:38Speaker 3: entire state does it a little bit differently. I mean
- 32:40Speaker 3: everybody North South, everybody does it. So I'm sure that
- 32:42Speaker 3: was a lot of fun. What else you got coming
- 32:44Speaker 3: down the pipeline.
- 32:45Speaker 5: Baseball season is a big thing, So we're gonna start
- 32:47Speaker 5: doing some tailgates over at alex Box, doing all kinds
- 32:50Speaker 5: of different stuff and just keep you know, exploring the state.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Festivals are coming up a lot of different stuff. We
- 32:55Speaker 5: also just started a new podcast, Losing Unloaded podcast myself
- 32:58Speaker 5: and with Jordi. Yeah, and so he's been great, obviously
- 33:03Speaker 5: a fan. I love Jordy and uh so we started,
- 33:06Speaker 5: you know, have a guest on every Thursday, blow it Up,
- 33:09Speaker 5: kind of just starting it small, hoping to blow it up.
- 33:12Speaker 8: You just had Verge, just.
- 33:15Speaker 15: Doug Thompson. Yeah, We're gonna, you know, keep having guests
- 33:17Speaker 15: every week.
- 33:18Speaker 5: Hopefully we can get some guys, you know through our
- 33:20Speaker 5: connection with Gordon and.
- 33:22Speaker 3: If I know, if I know anything about well Gordon
- 33:25Speaker 3: one am I guy Jordy too. But Jordy, if Jordi
- 33:28Speaker 3: gets somebody in his cross areas, they're coming on the show.
- 33:30Speaker 15: They're coming. You know. We had Ben McDonald, like, you know, this.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Is just the first couple of weeks, so uh I
- 33:35Speaker 5: was exciting looking looking to keep going with it.
- 33:38Speaker 9: So give me a highlight of like the Louisiana Loaded,
- 33:41Speaker 9: Like what's You've been done a lot of stuff in
- 33:43Speaker 9: Louisiana this past year, so like give it's like a
- 33:46Speaker 9: top three things that you've actually got to experience through
- 33:50Speaker 9: through the show and that you haven't done before.
- 33:53Speaker 15: Man, that's tough. Wasn't wasn't prepared for that.
- 33:56Speaker 8: Marty Girl was obviously, He's never prepared.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Just kind of how it rolls, obviously, like Marty gral
- 34:05Speaker 5: like Church Point, Marty Gral I had never done that.
- 34:07Speaker 5: And to see the different culture of up Louisiana through
- 34:10Speaker 5: that was awesome.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Omaha.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Yeah, being able to you know, that was when we
- 34:15Speaker 5: first started Louisiana Load was was Omaha. I was up
- 34:17Speaker 5: in Omaha for two weeks straight, you know, buying Jella shots,
- 34:21Speaker 5: doing all that and then just you know, seeing all
- 34:23Speaker 5: the different This is a broad answer, but I've been
- 34:26Speaker 5: all over the state truth board, you know, Lake Charles,
- 34:28Speaker 5: New Orleans, Covington, wherever you can kind of think of
- 34:32Speaker 5: seeing all the different cultures, like not even just through culture,
- 34:35Speaker 5: but like through food, through bars, through drinking. It's different
- 34:39Speaker 5: in every area. And so to be able to kind
- 34:41Speaker 5: of experience that on a different level than before as
- 34:44Speaker 5: is pretty cool, really is pretty cool.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Catching up with Will Helmer's here in the Raising Kines studio,
- 34:50Speaker 3: he mentioned baseball season a big part of Louisiana loaded
- 34:53Speaker 3: there and baseball is off to a pretty good start there.
- 34:55Speaker 15: Eight.
- 34:56Speaker 3: To note on the season we were talking before you
- 34:58Speaker 3: jumped on, if you were one of the lucky ones
- 35:00Speaker 3: that didn't have a stream that crashed over the weekend,
- 35:03Speaker 3: you could have watched some really good baseball there as well.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I don't think that anybody was lucky, because I think
- 35:07Speaker 3: it crashed for everyone but LSU eight. No, and I
- 35:10Speaker 3: mean Will obviously, like you've been a part championship teams,
- 35:12Speaker 3: you know how hard it is to run it back,
- 35:15Speaker 3: to bring back a squad this championship caliber. But this team,
- 35:18Speaker 3: after winning it last year, losing so many key pieces,
- 35:21Speaker 3: they look like right now and look there's still a
- 35:23Speaker 3: long way to go, but they look like they're building
- 35:25Speaker 3: that foundation to be able to compete for a championship.
- 35:29Speaker 5: I mean it's it's impressive on kind of every facet
- 35:32Speaker 5: right now, from the mound offensively, like they have every
- 35:35Speaker 5: piece of the puzzle to go do it again. Yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 5: you know, with baseball, it's kind of a lot of
- 35:39Speaker 5: it's when you get hot. Yeah, You've seen that over
- 35:41Speaker 5: the years with like Ole Miss and twenty twenty two, Like, yeah,
- 35:44Speaker 5: you just get hot at the right time, right, and
- 35:45Speaker 5: that's part of it. And they're obviously hot right now,
- 35:48Speaker 5: and it's the biggest thing. And I you know, we've
- 35:51Speaker 5: I've learned over the years of playing and even watching
- 35:54Speaker 5: for the past couple of years now, is it's still early.
- 35:57Speaker 15: Yeah, you know, it's super early.
- 35:58Speaker 5: And they they've played some inferior opponents, you know for
- 36:01Speaker 5: the most part, and but they showed out on every
- 36:04Speaker 5: level that they can do it in the sec too.
- 36:06Speaker 15: Yeah, the bats are there.
- 36:08Speaker 5: There's not a single person in that lineup that has
- 36:10Speaker 5: played so far that can't hurt you. You know, there's
- 36:13Speaker 5: you know, whether it's Dardar or Carraway. And then you
- 36:16Speaker 5: have you know, Curry Ol Brown, You're right at the top,
- 36:20Speaker 5: which is like scary. So they have a lot of
- 36:22Speaker 5: guys who can hurt you offensively, which is always something
- 36:25Speaker 5: that you know, Jay's had in his lineups, whether it's
- 36:27Speaker 5: the long ball or he's gonna come score like do
- 36:30Speaker 5: a double squeeze, you know, bunt and score two runners.
- 36:33Speaker 15: You know, just crazy stuff like that.
- 36:34Speaker 5: So he's always going to score runs, always going to
- 36:36Speaker 5: be good offensively, but from the mound portion of it,
- 36:40Speaker 5: like two, Kochieski has done a great job of developing
- 36:44Speaker 5: guys like I think we've seen you know Schmid on Sunday,
- 36:47Speaker 5: was that's his best performance at LSU.
- 36:50Speaker 8: I was going to ask you about him.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Okay, So a young guy whose expectations through the roof
- 36:55Speaker 3: was supposed to go to the draft. He wanted to
- 36:56Speaker 3: play for LSU, and so like a media people are like, oh, well,
- 36:59Speaker 3: you got be awesome from day one. And look in sports,
- 37:02Speaker 3: it's tough, Like a lot of freshmen play in baseball.
- 37:05Speaker 8: I get that, but it's still going to be incredibly tough.
- 37:07Speaker 3: So from him, like you saw him last year and
- 37:10Speaker 3: you see the flashes, but you know it wasn't consistent
- 37:12Speaker 3: enough to be a weekend guy. Like what is that
- 37:14Speaker 3: transition like in baseball from freshman year expectations to a
- 37:17Speaker 3: sophomore year. He could probably take like at least a
- 37:20Speaker 3: deep breath, and now we're starting to see all the
- 37:22Speaker 3: things that we thought he would be.
- 37:23Speaker 5: Yeah, and Schmid Williams got all the talent in the world.
- 37:27Speaker 5: There was never a doubt about that when he you know,
- 37:29Speaker 5: came from Catholic Like, he's got all the stuff, like
- 37:32Speaker 5: he's a big league pitcher. Stuff wise, it's always a
- 37:35Speaker 5: matter of if you can figure it out. And LSU
- 37:38Speaker 5: is not an easy place to figure it out, true,
- 37:40Speaker 5: you know, as a freshman, like coming into that environment
- 37:43Speaker 5: and Alex box with you know, ten thousand strong or
- 37:46Speaker 5: more is a tough place to learn how to be
- 37:48Speaker 5: a college pitcher. Yeah, and so to take that stride
- 37:51Speaker 5: from you know, being a freshman, you know, and he struggle.
- 37:54Speaker 5: He struggled a lot as a freshman. You know, he
- 37:55Speaker 5: couldn't get the ball over the plate as much. And
- 37:57Speaker 5: and so we're kind of starting to see him maybe
- 37:59Speaker 5: take the mold into that sophomore year of kind of like,
- 38:03Speaker 5: well maybe he the stuff still there, the same stuff,
- 38:06Speaker 5: but maybe it from a mental side of it, maybe
- 38:08Speaker 5: he can take that next step and really, you know,
- 38:11Speaker 5: improve it and be a Saturday Sunday Sunday guy who
- 38:14Speaker 5: knows And at the end of the season, like, you know,
- 38:17Speaker 5: one of the best parts that I've seen from this
- 38:19Speaker 5: team so far, as they got three guys over the
- 38:22Speaker 5: weekend who went five plus innings Yeah, that's rare, you know,
- 38:25Speaker 5: to throw just two guys on a Sunday. Yeah, is
- 38:28Speaker 5: pretty cool, you know, and it's awesome, you know, to
- 38:31Speaker 5: see that for sure.
- 38:32Speaker 9: Tell me from a from a player perspective, what is
- 38:34Speaker 9: February baseball like?
- 38:37Speaker 2: Mentally?
- 38:38Speaker 9: Just because you know, you know the coaches are constantly evaluating.
- 38:41Speaker 9: You know that you're not an sec play You know
- 38:43Speaker 9: that you're not you know, this is not win or
- 38:46Speaker 9: win or go home whatever it is. You got to
- 38:49Speaker 9: get hot at the right times, just like you said.
- 38:52Speaker 9: But as a player, you know you're constantly being evaluated.
- 38:55Speaker 9: You know that the lineup's not you know, it's it's
- 38:57Speaker 9: not written in stone. You know that the pitching rotation
- 39:01Speaker 9: is not written in stone.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Like.
- 39:02Speaker 9: So mentally, how do you approach practice in each game
- 39:06Speaker 9: as a player in February?
- 39:07Speaker 5: Yeah, so as an LSU player, I can't speak for
- 39:10Speaker 5: other programs and about as a player of Jay Johnson,
- 39:17Speaker 5: it's no different than it is in Omaha.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you know right now, which is cool.
- 39:21Speaker 5: And you know one of Jay's things is it's a
- 39:24Speaker 5: fifty six game playoff, so every game matters, every game
- 39:27Speaker 5: is a playoff.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Which actually I love that about Jay because well, you know,
- 39:31Speaker 3: I mean so many people are like, oh, midweek games,
- 39:33Speaker 3: it don't really matter. In like past coaches like we're
- 39:37Speaker 3: trying stuff here and there. I'm like, no, the hell
- 39:38Speaker 3: would we put on a uniform if we put out
- 39:41Speaker 3: a lineup card, like, let's go win.
- 39:43Speaker 15: The game exactly.
- 39:44Speaker 5: It all doesn't matter until you get no hit by
- 39:46Speaker 5: Nichols on a Tuesday, Yes happens, Yeah, and you lose
- 39:49Speaker 5: the Southern yeah or whatever as an LSU team, and
- 39:51Speaker 5: then it's like what are y'all doing?
- 39:53Speaker 15: Man? Right, and everybody hates you, you know.
- 39:55Speaker 5: So, so having that mentality of you know, in training
- 39:59Speaker 5: and practice in the m of like everything is a
- 40:02Speaker 5: playoff game. Every game is a playoff game, even whether
- 40:05Speaker 5: it's February or or June, you know. And so being
- 40:08Speaker 5: a player of Jay Johnson, if you're gonna play, that's
- 40:11Speaker 5: gonna be your mentality. And so you know, he's got
- 40:14Speaker 5: a squad right now that you can kind of tell, uh,
- 40:17Speaker 5: they believe in each other a little bit, and they
- 40:19Speaker 5: kind of got some good chemistry right now, and it's
- 40:23Speaker 5: almost easy for them. Yeah, it looks like they're just
- 40:25Speaker 5: having fun. You know, it's just kids playing playing playing
- 40:28Speaker 5: in the sand, you know, And so that's really cool
- 40:31Speaker 5: to see and for us, like we have a for Gordon,
- 40:34Speaker 5: we have you know, we've got eleven and il guys
- 40:37Speaker 5: for baseball. And we took him to dinner a few
- 40:39Speaker 5: weeks ago and just at the dinner table too, like
- 40:42Speaker 5: these guys are just different.
- 40:43Speaker 2: They get along.
- 40:44Speaker 5: They're just you know, cracking jokes, you know whatever. And
- 40:46Speaker 5: so to see that is really you know, special, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 5: and it's the makings of a good team.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Is Jay A yeah, he seems pretty intense. Is he
- 40:56Speaker 2: a yeller?
- 40:56Speaker 9: Is that how he expresses his intensity or is it
- 40:59Speaker 9: just like when he speaks, everyone shuts up and for
- 41:02Speaker 9: the moment he yells.
- 41:04Speaker 8: You whisper a sweet.
- 41:06Speaker 9: You know, there's coach We've had coaches that, like say,
- 41:09Speaker 9: was a yeller, right, That's how he got his point across.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Was yelling? He did, but he didn't have to well.
- 41:14Speaker 8: You know, I mean, Jay takes a lot of his
- 41:16Speaker 8: coaching from saving right.
- 41:17Speaker 9: But there's also coaches that were very intense, like in
- 41:20Speaker 9: you just didn't mess around with him, but they didn't
- 41:22Speaker 9: have to yell to get that point across.
- 41:26Speaker 15: Jay's got both. So he takes Skip versus yea Skip.
- 41:30Speaker 5: I'm sure you've heard some stories of like, you know,
- 41:32Speaker 5: you go out to the mound and Skip goes it's
- 41:35Speaker 5: it's you know, it's it's not your fault, it's mine you.
- 41:40Speaker 5: So you know, there's some of that in Jay and
- 41:42Speaker 5: there's also some yellow. So it's fun either way. He's
- 41:48Speaker 5: he can do both. I've heard him get on some people.
- 41:50Speaker 5: I've got some great stories that you know, we probably
- 41:53Speaker 5: can't say on air, But he does both.
- 41:56Speaker 15: You know, that's what a good coach.
- 41:58Speaker 8: He knows how to get best player in college baseball.
- 42:01Speaker 15: Yeah, exactly.
- 42:02Speaker 8: I don't know which one would be worse.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Skipt telling you it's my fault for recruiting you are
- 42:07Speaker 3: Jimbo saying I wish your parents never met.
- 42:09Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean both of them good.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah tough.
- 42:17Speaker 9: I think I actually kind of like the the underhanded like, oh,
- 42:21Speaker 9: it's my my fault for recruiting you, evaluating that.
- 42:25Speaker 2: I think he told that to Ronnie rant. I think
- 42:27Speaker 2: that was the guy that he told that. Will.
- 42:30Speaker 8: We appreciate the time man. Will is good enough to

- 45:25Speaker 9: you know, parent myself to think about that. You just
- 45:29Speaker 9: never really know what's affected somebody. So you got great
- 45:33Speaker 9: organizations like that working with l s U and Mama
- 45:36Speaker 9: Shelley and if you can make it awesome. But I
- 45:40Speaker 9: think at some point everybody's kind of affected in some
- 45:43Speaker 9: some form or fashion by by mental health issues. Whether
- 45:46Speaker 9: it's you, your yourself, you're a family member, loved on,
- 45:48Speaker 9: a friend, whatever it does. You just never really know
- 45:51Speaker 9: and when it when something like that hits children and
- 45:55Speaker 9: you hear stories about children with mental health, and there's
- 45:57Speaker 9: so much out there with social media and all the
- 45:59Speaker 9: thing and the pressures put on from societal pressures.
