- 0:02Speaker 1: How well you can explain God is not your testimony.
- 0:05Speaker 1: I would tell you, truly, your testimony is what others
- 0:07Speaker 1: might think about God after they met you. It's also
- 0:09Speaker 1: the scariest scripture in the Bible where Jesus says, many
- 0:12Speaker 1: will come to me on that day and I'll say
- 0:14Speaker 1: turn away from me. I never knew you, which means
- 0:16Speaker 1: that you never let me change who you are. If
- 0:19Speaker 1: you'll just experience God and let him change who you are,
- 0:21Speaker 1: it's the greatest testimony that you can tell. That's impossible.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Let me tell you what I believe. It's your weakness.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It's not your technique. Don't think you know you The
- 0:37Speaker 2: Impossible Life Podcast.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And yes, sitting on a winning lottery second an idea
- 0:42Speaker 1: that is fully formed, fully understood that sticks. This is
- 0:48Speaker 1: the Impossible Life Podcast because Nick and I are attempting
- 0:52Speaker 1: to live impossible lives. What we know is that nothing
- 0:56Speaker 1: is impossible. So instead of using impossible as an excuse
- 1:00Speaker 1: to not try, we'll use the pursuit of impossible as
- 1:04Speaker 1: an accelerant for greatness. If something's never been done before,
- 1:08Speaker 1: that just means it's unexplored. If they tell you it's
- 1:11Speaker 1: too hard, it's just waiting to be simplified. Impossible as
- 1:16Speaker 1: a default label used by uncourageous people unwilling to take
- 1:20Speaker 1: a risk. The real truth is this The solution to
- 1:24Speaker 1: any impossible task starts with this question, if I had to,
- 1:29Speaker 1: what would it take? What would it take?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Welcome to another episode of the Impossible Life Podcast. I'm
- 1:37Speaker 2: your co host, Nick Surface, and I'm looking across as
- 1:39Speaker 2: a man who recently launched his own AI called hard
- 1:42Speaker 2: dog GPT. That's right, friend, Garret Nuckleback. A man who's
- 1:50Speaker 2: AI takes no prompts. It simply interrupts you and tells
- 1:53Speaker 2: you all the ways you could be better, whether you
- 1:56Speaker 2: like it or not.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Recent statistics showed that the top reps were stop it.
- 2:01Speaker 2: That's weak and I wish you could see yourself right now.
- 2:04Speaker 1: That's extremely accurate. Yeah, there's a link in the show
- 2:09Speaker 1: notes to join the wait list for hard dog GPT. Dude.
- 2:12Speaker 2: This So this came about because somebody was telling me
- 2:15Speaker 2: the like I don't really I don't really like how
- 2:17Speaker 2: chat GPT is like always on your side, Like I
- 2:18Speaker 2: want to skip my workout today and it comes back
- 2:20Speaker 2: and goes you know what, there's that's Brian wise, and
- 2:22Speaker 2: I was like, huh, it's like, I know someone who's
- 2:24Speaker 2: GPT would never never.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Feel like It's also why I've had I've had a
- 2:29Speaker 1: hard time. I'm surrounded by a bunch of people who
- 2:31Speaker 1: are AI wizards, right, and they use it more for coding,
- 2:35Speaker 1: which is great. But as I've used GPT, as soon
- 2:39Speaker 1: as I feel like I don't want I don't want
- 2:42Speaker 1: to be patronized.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, no kidding, And that's a great question, Garrett, Yeah, exactly.
- 2:46Speaker 1: That's the stuff I've where I do use GPT. It
- 2:50Speaker 1: helps me like process long documents and stuff like that
- 2:53Speaker 1: when we get it, like when we start getting into
- 2:56Speaker 1: like let's work on our thinking, let's develop a thought process,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and my GPT was a person, it's feelings would be hurt.
- 3:04Speaker 2: That is a terrible answer. Go do it again. Yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 2: you know, thank God that it is simple.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But you know what, if you give it strong correction
- 3:11Speaker 1: actually does perform better.
- 3:12Speaker 2: So I actually like my GPT. Okay, anyways, let's dive
- 3:16Speaker 2: into this today. By the way, g before we do
- 3:18Speaker 2: dive in, I am wearing our Fantastic Jesus One Impossible
- 3:23Speaker 2: Life edition shirt. If you're listening to this and it's
- 3:26Speaker 2: before July thirty first, you still have a chance to
- 3:28Speaker 2: buy the shirt once it gets past your life thirty first.
- 3:30Speaker 2: These shirts are going away. They were limited edition offer.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Jesus One is growing. Love mad, love what they're doing. Addition,
- 3:36Speaker 2: love to see. I'm at the gym and I see
- 3:38Speaker 2: a guy who plays for DBU baseball player wearing a
- 3:41Speaker 2: Jesus One shirt. I'm like, let's go. So I'm starting
- 3:43Speaker 2: to see people. You know, they grow. He partners with people,
- 3:46Speaker 2: but if you stay with that forever, he would have
- 3:49Speaker 2: like five hundred partnership. So ours was limited time. These
- 3:52Speaker 2: things are awesome. It's in our font, it's got our
- 3:54Speaker 2: logo on the back. I guarantee I'm yet to wear it.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Ge happy. Yesterday at the water park, I was wearing
- 3:58Speaker 2: my Jesus One shirt as in walk now, Hey, I
- 4:00Speaker 2: like your shirt.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 4:01Speaker 2: It always starts a conversation. Uh, and so I would
- 4:04Speaker 2: just say, get your Jesus one shirt. It's a great
- 4:06Speaker 2: way of just a lot.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Of T shirts to start conversation, not necessarily good ones, right.
- 4:11Speaker 2: And this starts a great conversation. I see people reading
- 4:13Speaker 2: them all the time, and it is a reminder Jesus One.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I'm waiting for some favorite was.
- 4:17Speaker 1: When we were at the ballpark and the dudes who
- 4:19Speaker 1: were way too many drinks in were like, f yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I love your shirts.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you know, I'll take I'll take it.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord. But yeah, I have
- 4:30Speaker 2: waiting for someone to ask me what did he win?
- 4:32Speaker 2: I am ready for that question because that's gonna that's
- 4:34Speaker 2: gonna prompt a great one. So anyways, get him. You
- 4:36Speaker 2: can go to Jesus one Apparel dot com. I will
- 4:38Speaker 2: also put the link in the show notes for this
- 4:40Speaker 2: episode only simply because that's the quickest way to get there,
- 4:43Speaker 2: is that you can click over all. Right, gee, so
- 4:45Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a h there. There's something
- 4:48Speaker 2: that happens in society when you're really great, and we
- 4:50Speaker 2: see this a lot in sports. When you're great at
- 4:52Speaker 2: sports and like you've had a long career that you've
- 4:55Speaker 2: meant something like you go to the United Center, what
- 4:57Speaker 2: is out in front a statue of Michael Jordan? You
- 4:59Speaker 2: go to Los Angeles to their stadium, what's out in
- 5:02Speaker 2: front statue of Magic Johnson?
- 5:04Speaker 1: Right? Uh?
- 5:05Speaker 2: So, like when you perform great deeds, man, people build
- 5:08Speaker 2: a statue in your honor, which is kind of like
- 5:10Speaker 2: a weird thing that we don't ever question, Like, hey,
- 5:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna make this like static image of you and
- 5:16Speaker 2: just put it there so that people can look at
- 5:17Speaker 2: it for all of time. Well, those don't always go right.
- 5:22Speaker 2: There is a very famous soccer player by the name
- 5:24Speaker 2: of Christiano Ronaldo and he actually he's from Madera in
- 5:27Speaker 2: Portugal and he has he has a now a museum
- 5:31Speaker 2: that's like kind of he did it because kind of
- 5:34Speaker 2: a big deal. Yeah, I mean, dude, he's one of
- 5:35Speaker 2: the greatest of all times. People will probably put Messi
- 5:38Speaker 2: ahead of him at this point right now, but like
- 5:40Speaker 2: they've always been combating, and I'm not trying to weigh
- 5:42Speaker 2: in on that they're both great players. But so here's
- 5:45Speaker 2: the here's the only thing. Gee, this guy he had
- 5:47Speaker 2: he built a he had a museum called the CR
- 5:49Speaker 2: seven Musea or however I'm not I don't speak Portuguese,
- 5:52Speaker 2: is basically the CR seven Museum in Madera, and the
- 5:54Speaker 2: point was to give back to his to his his uh,
- 5:58Speaker 2: his city, because he's gonna draw tons of fans. The
- 6:01Speaker 2: guy's one of the most famous people in the world,
- 6:03Speaker 2: fans will go there. So as part of this, they
- 6:05Speaker 2: decide in twenty seventeen, you know what we need, We
- 6:07Speaker 2: need a statue of Ronaldo. So they're gonna you know,
- 6:10Speaker 2: they got this bronze head statue that they were going
- 6:13Speaker 2: to do for him.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Think I know where this is going.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah, they pulled off the they pulled off the reveal
- 6:18Speaker 2: and it became known as the Ugly Ronaldo. It does
- 6:21Speaker 2: not look like him. It's like a I don't even
- 6:24Speaker 2: know if I could say it's a caricature of him.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But this thing went viral instantly because everybody was like,
- 6:29Speaker 2: who's that?
- 6:30Speaker 1: Ye, it is, you know.
- 6:32Speaker 2: The guy who made it had to defend himself and
- 6:34Speaker 2: then obviously there's all these awkward quotes from Ronaldo's like hey,
- 6:37Speaker 2: what do you think? And he's not gonna like slate
- 6:39Speaker 2: the guy and be like, well, I think it's terrible,
- 6:41Speaker 2: but it is. Honestly, it's uh look up, look up.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Just if you just literally type in c R seven statue,
- 6:47Speaker 2: you'll get into a search engine. It's in the in
- 6:50Speaker 2: the museum. They had to man, well, yes they didn't
- 6:53Speaker 2: have to, but they.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Did replace it.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Don't do it. I was surprised to find out that
- 6:57Speaker 2: this thing is on display. But yeah, you can go
- 6:59Speaker 2: to the cr Museum and see as now being known
- 7:01Speaker 2: the ugly Ronaldo Bronze statue of his head. Why are
- 7:05Speaker 2: we saying this to you, Well, there's a wonderful We
- 7:08Speaker 2: are known as those who are made in the image
- 7:10Speaker 2: of God. And the number one question we get on
- 7:13Speaker 2: the impossible life, what people, every person wants to know
- 7:15Speaker 2: is what's my purpose today? Every single person out there
- 7:18Speaker 2: is made to be an image bearer of God. And
- 7:20Speaker 2: we're gonna uncover what's.
- 7:22Speaker 1: The role that that's the role that God gave us?
- 7:24Speaker 1: And you know this one. I love talking to business owners,
- 7:29Speaker 1: not just because you know, hey, I'm a business owner.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Talk to my other business owner buddies, right, Really more so,
- 7:35Speaker 1: I think in every way we're all business owners. On
- 7:39Speaker 1: a level, we're Steward's, okay. But when I talk to
- 7:42Speaker 1: business owners, they know there's a certain level of frustrations
- 7:46Speaker 1: and hardships and challenges and just perpetual struggles and oh
- 7:50Speaker 1: my gosh, why am I having to deal with this
- 7:53Speaker 1: of what it takes to be a business owner. And
- 7:55Speaker 1: one of the things that I know frustrates business owners
- 7:58Speaker 1: is like, if you're an employee, don't ever go to
- 8:02Speaker 1: your boss and say, nobody told me how to do this. Okay,
- 8:06Speaker 1: your boss hopefully won't, but he will want to punch
- 8:09Speaker 1: you in the face, right, because as a business owner,
- 8:12Speaker 1: there's so many things you had to figure out for yourself,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and then people come to you and they're like, hey,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you know, nobody told me how to do this in
- 8:19Speaker 1: your boss. It's part of your boss's and business owners
- 8:22Speaker 1: emotional maturity and growth in life to realize like, okay,
- 8:26Speaker 1: well that's why i'm here. It's to help you because
- 8:29Speaker 1: I figure this out. You didn't figure it out. Let
- 8:31Speaker 1: me help you figure it out. And as you grow
- 8:34Speaker 1: as a team and as your business owner, you've got
- 8:36Speaker 1: to bring people onto your team, and you as a
- 8:39Speaker 1: business owner going to have a high standard of excellence.
- 8:42Speaker 1: It's why you're doing what you're doing. God's given you
- 8:44Speaker 1: a certain set of skills to build a team to
- 8:47Speaker 1: sell a product, whatever your business is. And then you
- 8:50Speaker 1: bring people onto that team and you know what, they
- 8:52Speaker 1: may be passionate about it, they may be mission driven,
- 8:54Speaker 1: but you know what they're not. They're not you, right,
- 8:56Speaker 1: and it's frustrating sometimes and this is it's just again,
- 9:01Speaker 1: it's the growth and the emotional maturity of being a
- 9:02Speaker 1: business owner. Would'll bit frustrated sometimes, like hey, you see
- 9:06Speaker 1: that logo on your shirt. That's my name, right, and
- 9:09Speaker 1: maybe your business is your name, maybe it's not, but
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's a reflection of a brand that the business owner
- 9:14Speaker 1: has built and then everyone and he built that brand
- 9:17Speaker 1: most likely you know knocking doors are doing stuff himself,
- 9:20Speaker 1: Like I've established what this name means through my own
- 9:23Speaker 1: level of grit and excellence, and when you're out there
- 9:26Speaker 1: doing stuff, it needs to look like what I did. Yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 1: otherwise you're hurting the brand. Okay. So it's a challenging
- 9:34Speaker 1: thing sometimes for business owners to let people go out
- 9:36Speaker 1: and wear their name. And I say all that to say,
- 9:39Speaker 1: that's exactly what.
- 9:39Speaker 2: God does with us, right.
- 9:41Speaker 1: We are made in His image, We are His image bearers,
- 9:44Speaker 1: we are caught, we are you know, we go by now.
- 9:47Speaker 1: It wasn't always the term, but we go by now Christians, right,
- 9:50Speaker 1: And what we are supposed to be a reflection of Christ.
- 9:53Speaker 1: And what we all know listening to this episode today
- 9:56Speaker 1: is that we do a horrible job of it. But nonetheless,
- 10:00Speaker 1: price allows us to go out in His name. That's
- 10:02Speaker 1: what we're supposed to be doing. And so just like
- 10:05Speaker 1: a good business owner says, you know what, that's okay,
- 10:07Speaker 1: You're not me. That's not the goal here either. The
- 10:10Speaker 1: goal is what's the mission, what's the objective? And I
- 10:13Speaker 1: want to help you grow into what this brand does,
- 10:16Speaker 1: what represent. And it doesn't help you or me if
- 10:20Speaker 1: you make one mistake and I just cut you in
- 10:21Speaker 1: half and say, you know, you can't ever wear my
- 10:23Speaker 1: shirt again. Christ God does the same thing with us. Right,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm going to help you understand what it means to
- 10:30Speaker 1: walk in my name, to have my image. And that's
- 10:32Speaker 1: exactly what it says in the very beginning Genesis one,
- 10:35Speaker 1: twenty six through twenty eight. Then God said, let us
- 10:40Speaker 1: let us make mankind and our image and our likeness,
- 10:44Speaker 1: so that they may rule over the fish and the sea,
- 10:45Speaker 1: and the birds and the sky, over the livestock and
- 10:47Speaker 1: all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that
- 10:50Speaker 1: move along the ground. So God created mankind in his
- 10:53Speaker 1: own image, in the image of God. He created them
- 10:55Speaker 1: male and female. He created them. I could break this
- 10:59Speaker 1: down in multiple there's so much in that one, one
- 11:01Speaker 1: of them being that think about all the things that
- 11:03Speaker 1: God governs, right, And God says, hey, little dude, you
- 11:07Speaker 1: can rule over the fish and yes, yeah, all right.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And God's like, I got everything else right, you know,
- 11:13Speaker 1: like the universe. You know how the earth doesn't explode,
- 11:16Speaker 1: how it's in this perfect place right between right next
- 11:20Speaker 1: to the sun, like all these things. God's like, I'll
- 11:22Speaker 1: take care of all that. Why once you go like
- 11:23Speaker 1: name some birds. That's a pretty big responsibility. God, I'm
- 11:26Speaker 1: not sure about parties.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Like you can do it.
- 11:29Speaker 1: This is you know. It's the point I'm making is
- 11:32Speaker 1: it's a lot same with the analogy of an employee,
- 11:35Speaker 1: you know, in the business owner, right, like, hey, I
- 11:37Speaker 1: need you to go try to be like me in
- 11:39Speaker 1: this task. Right. And God has said, look, I've made
- 11:43Speaker 1: you in my image. You need to do things the
- 11:44Speaker 1: way that I do them. I've made you like me,
- 11:47Speaker 1: and I've set you upon a certain amount of tasks. Right.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And it's way more than just that. We'll talk about
- 11:52Speaker 1: some of those today. It's way more than just ruling
- 11:54Speaker 1: over the fish and the birds in the sky, over
- 11:56Speaker 1: the livestock and all the wild animals. It's way more
- 11:59Speaker 1: than that dominion that God's put us here on the
- 12:01Speaker 1: earth floor.
- 12:02Speaker 2: We're gonna break down today, right, Yeah, very good. I
- 12:06Speaker 2: was reminded while you were talking about the job that
- 12:08Speaker 2: God gave us. I once heard a comedian talk about
- 12:11Speaker 2: how he thinks Adam got a little bit tired near
- 12:13Speaker 2: the end because he started off like hippopotamus, and it
- 12:17Speaker 2: was a British comedian. It's very funny. And then he's
- 12:18Speaker 2: like he gives examples like ox Alatto, like wow, really
- 12:21Speaker 2: going all out with all these like letters and everything.
- 12:24Speaker 2: And then by the end he was like fly like
- 12:26Speaker 2: I'm just gonna I'm just gonna call it for what
- 12:28Speaker 2: it's actually doing. Anyways, I found that.
- 12:30Speaker 1: More amusing than you did.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Okay, gee, so image bearer as always image bearer, We're
- 12:37Speaker 2: going to like gotta break it down, Yeah, break it down.
- 12:39Speaker 2: So our West of Date twenty eight image any copy
- 12:42Speaker 2: representation or likeness. That's why I gave the statue story
- 12:44Speaker 2: at the beginning, like we see these everywhere your kids, right,
- 12:48Speaker 2: they are like a copy representation or likeness.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I got a few copy paste running around. You definitely do.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Faith has the riff which is now genetically He had
- 12:57Speaker 2: another one.
- 12:57Speaker 1: This week that a lady at the star was like.
- 12:59Speaker 2: She okay, yeah, because she's just staring you down.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Like every time I look at Faith, it's just big, giant,
- 13:05Speaker 1: full face smile. But for a lot of people it
- 13:08Speaker 1: should just give you the mean mug.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Well, yeah, she literally cocks one eyebrow up. It's just
- 13:13Speaker 2: like your riff. It's her right eye, just like yours.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I know that look she was staring me down. And
- 13:17Speaker 2: then what happens is as I get closer and I
- 13:19Speaker 2: smile at hers, she smiles back. But her natural disposition
- 13:21Speaker 2: is just to like intensely and awkwardly just stare.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Laser Beamiydes, what are you doing here?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Who has the rock eyebrow at like a year old? Oh,
- 13:29Speaker 2: your daughter does, like literally one eyebrow cocked up. It's crazy.
- 13:32Speaker 2: So her happy face is h So image bearers, Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 1: It is. The image bears two things. Image bear. Image
- 13:40Speaker 1: is a copy of representation. It's a visualization, it's a likeness,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and the bear means to carry it right. So that's
- 13:47Speaker 1: exactly we are supposed to take on this representation, this
- 13:51Speaker 1: visualization of who God is, of how Christ live. And
- 13:55Speaker 1: I think there's multiple pieces to that. We'll get into that.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But it's both of these things, and we're meant to
- 14:01Speaker 1: carry that the same way. For an example I love
- 14:05Speaker 1: to use, especially for men, of what it means to
- 14:08Speaker 1: be a follower of Christ. And we'll get into like
- 14:11Speaker 1: why I wanted to even talk about this today, But
- 14:14Speaker 1: I say to people all the time, especially when I
- 14:16Speaker 1: like go do public speaking and stuff, I go, everything
- 14:18Speaker 1: you think of me as a Navy seal has nothing
- 14:21Speaker 1: to do with right, Right, Like, there are people that
- 14:24Speaker 1: made or strongly influenced the reputation that Navy seals have.
- 14:29Speaker 1: There's a few of those people. I'm not one of them, Okay,
- 14:31Speaker 1: Like the reputation, they're guys. They're guys twice my age,
- 14:35Speaker 1: because the seal brand was built you know, in eighties,
- 14:39Speaker 1: nineties and two thousands, also somewhat in Vietnam. Right, I
- 14:43Speaker 1: say that to say, everything you think of a Navy
- 14:45Speaker 1: seal has nothing to do with me. I'd represent the
- 14:48Speaker 1: name and when you think of a Navy seal and
- 14:50Speaker 1: you look at me and you associate those things. I
- 14:52Speaker 1: can't really improve what that means, but I could certainly
- 14:55Speaker 1: drag it down. Yeah, and that's a wait I'll carry
- 14:58Speaker 1: for the rest of my life, right, if I ever
- 15:00Speaker 1: get fat, if I ever whatever you know, disrespectful or
- 15:04Speaker 1: demeaning behavior you can think of, I would be unbecoming
- 15:07Speaker 1: of the brand of an avy Seal. I say the
- 15:09Speaker 1: same thing about what it means to follow Christ, right,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I want people to look at me and that help
- 15:16Speaker 1: them grow, help them strengthen what following after Christ means,
- 15:19Speaker 1: or for those who don't know Christ, that maybe they
- 15:22Speaker 1: would want to after having met me.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Which unfortunately that's not the way. I mean a lot
- 15:27Speaker 2: of times I think if people hear that you're a Christian,
- 15:30Speaker 2: if you had to do like a brand check on Christianity,
- 15:32Speaker 2: you'd be like, oh, so you're one of those people
- 15:34Speaker 2: that says the right things, but you don't.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Actually, it's poor, that's a poor image because you know this,
- 15:38Speaker 1: you've been around me. Think about all the things that
- 15:40Speaker 1: people immediately associate to me and think about me because
- 15:44Speaker 1: I'm an aby Seal. They don't know me at all,
- 15:46Speaker 1: but they go, oh, you're anavy Seal, you must be this,
- 15:48Speaker 1: you must be this. I'm sure you do these things,
- 15:50Speaker 1: like I'm sure you could beat me up. All this stuff, right,
- 15:53Speaker 1: And the same thing being a follower of Christ, people
- 15:56Speaker 1: associate things to you that is a reflection of what's
- 15:59Speaker 1: been happening now. And I'll say this in church history,
- 16:02Speaker 1: it hasn't always been that way. Yeah, no, kidding, right,
- 16:05Speaker 1: go back to early Church. They didn't say these people
- 16:08Speaker 1: are weak. They didn't say these people are soft. You didn't.
- 16:11Speaker 1: They didn't say these people are hypocrites. They were all
- 16:14Speaker 1: martyrs who died for their faith. Yeah, what they said
- 16:16Speaker 1: they said these people are crazy. But they didn't say
- 16:19Speaker 1: they're weak. They didn't say that they're fake. They didn't
- 16:22Speaker 1: say they'll all give up if you poke them hard enough.
- 16:24Speaker 1: They didn't say, oh, you know, they say one thing
- 16:27Speaker 1: and do another. That was not who early Christians were.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And so I look at it from a couple perspectives.
- 16:33Speaker 1: One like, this is what we should always be called
- 16:35Speaker 1: to is to be great image bearers. And two, I'm
- 16:39Speaker 1: not saying I think we can change all that overnight,
- 16:42Speaker 1: but let's move the needle at least start moving it
- 16:44Speaker 1: in the right direction of people like, oh, you're a
- 16:47Speaker 1: Christian and they think maybe they would think some more
- 16:49Speaker 1: positive things.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, let me ask you real quick, do you completely
- 16:53Speaker 2: unplanned why do you think people in the early like
- 16:56Speaker 2: what do you think it is that that caused it
- 16:58Speaker 2: to be such a a level of conviction that nobody
- 17:01Speaker 2: would say they're soft or they're not about it. It
- 17:04Speaker 2: was so common.
- 17:05Speaker 1: It was the environment, and it was an environment of persecution.
- 17:08Speaker 1: There was no benefits to being a Christian then, like
- 17:11Speaker 1: the people who believe it's like I've had an encounter
- 17:13Speaker 1: with Christ. This is the true revelation of God. And
- 17:17Speaker 1: the culture that they lived in tried to kill them
- 17:19Speaker 1: and did kill them for it. There was zero benefits.
- 17:22Speaker 1: And that's part of the reason that it's a crazy
- 17:25Speaker 1: story of how the Gospel grew in the first first
- 17:30Speaker 1: few hundred years after Christ because it was an environment
- 17:33Speaker 1: that was trying to kill it. But that's actually the
- 17:36Speaker 1: fuel that helped it grow, because, wow, these people really
- 17:40Speaker 1: believe this. Since people encountered God and it changed them
- 17:43Speaker 1: and they were willing to die for it. Now we
- 17:45Speaker 1: live in a world of such convenience, especially in America.
- 17:48Speaker 1: America like it's two sides of a coin. On one thing,
- 17:51Speaker 1: it's the greatest example of what freedom's ever looked like
- 17:54Speaker 1: in human history from a governance standpoint and a nation
- 17:58Speaker 1: and a people, And on the other side of that,
- 18:00Speaker 1: it is the most weak, lazy, and comfort minded people
- 18:03Speaker 1: that have ever existed, and so when you put Christianity
- 18:06Speaker 1: in that environment, it's very polarizing. You can have people
- 18:09Speaker 1: who really see the greatness of the glory of God,
- 18:11Speaker 1: but you can also have people who look at Christianity
- 18:14Speaker 1: as just another convenience program and Jesus is here to
- 18:17Speaker 1: just make my life better, ma'am.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Oh dude, that's I know that I agree with what
- 18:24Speaker 2: you just said. I hope those words hit everybody listening,
- 18:27Speaker 2: whether you're in America or not, if you are in
- 18:29Speaker 2: some western, civilized, civilized world, which I know we have
- 18:31Speaker 2: listeners in Australia, the UK, Canada, other English speaking countries,
- 18:35Speaker 2: South Africa, even though you know it's not Afrikaans as
- 18:37Speaker 2: their first language. But man, I hope that hits you
- 18:40Speaker 2: what you just said, because if it becomes like you
- 18:43Speaker 2: say this all the time, a mighty man, We're not
- 18:45Speaker 2: here to make you cuss less or to just help
- 18:48Speaker 2: improve your marriage or make you a little bit nicer guy,
- 18:50Speaker 2: it's like a full transformation. What's that mean? You die, right,
- 18:54Speaker 2: and it's very clear in the scriptures therefore I no
- 18:56Speaker 2: longer live, but as Christ who lives in me. We're
- 18:59Speaker 2: not trying to make a better caterpillar. Like you said,
- 19:01Speaker 2: is that a caterpillar dies and becomes something completely different.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Not a behavioral improvement program. It's a total transformation. Yeah, right,
- 19:08Speaker 1: and so that image bearer. We live in this world
- 19:11Speaker 1: that is governed under sinned, and so because of that,
- 19:16Speaker 1: we're constantly fighting against all these sometimes things that we cause,
- 19:20Speaker 1: we cause our own problems, but also all this in
- 19:23Speaker 1: the same way that the universe has friction and entropy,
- 19:26Speaker 1: things that are just constantly tearing things down. We're trying
- 19:29Speaker 1: to do image bearers in a world that's falling apart. Yeah.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Now you said you said something about being a seal,
- 19:35Speaker 2: which I think is really interesting because I don't think
- 19:37Speaker 2: people often think through what it means to what people
- 19:42Speaker 2: associate when you say something, right, like if I say soda,
- 19:45Speaker 2: everyone's going to think coke. Right, if I say navy seal,
- 19:48Speaker 2: people are.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Like, oh, like terminators.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Right when you say Christian you said, now, people have
- 19:53Speaker 2: an association with that, oftentimes negative, but depending on where
- 19:56Speaker 2: they're at, there's a lot of things that are attached
- 19:58Speaker 2: to it. You're walking something out right now in the
- 20:00Speaker 2: sense that you're building what will be a massively impressive,
- 20:04Speaker 2: multi billion dollar business. And you're building this right now,
- 20:07Speaker 2: and you're in a world full of man everything. You know,
- 20:10Speaker 2: people genius level people, high stakes money, people that maybe
- 20:15Speaker 2: know God, people that don't know God, people that you
- 20:17Speaker 2: have no interest whatsoever. And to say like, oh, I'm
- 20:21Speaker 2: a Christian there might not necessarily mean anything, but you're
- 20:24Speaker 2: walking out this revelation of what it means to be
- 20:27Speaker 2: an image baron and give them the idea.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a conversation that I'm just going to
- 20:32Speaker 1: preface this. A lot of the things that we talk
- 20:33Speaker 1: about on here are things I've worked through a great
- 20:37Speaker 1: deal wisdom that I've either gathered or learned through personal experience,
- 20:43Speaker 1: and is in so more of a teaching process what
- 20:46Speaker 1: we're going to talk about here. For just a second,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I would say something that I'm figuring it out still, right.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I want to get this right, and that's part of
- 20:54Speaker 1: the you know, part of what this podcast is an
- 20:55Speaker 1: opportunity for me to learn and grow as well, and
- 20:58Speaker 1: so I'm figuring these things out. So yeah, I'm just
- 21:01Speaker 1: giving that preface as we walk into this. Here's what
- 21:04Speaker 1: I here's what I do, and I'll start with what
- 21:05Speaker 1: I do know on this, and then we'll kind of
- 21:07Speaker 1: flush some of this out. What I do know is
- 21:10Speaker 1: growing up, I saw and I won't call out specific
- 21:13Speaker 1: industries just because I'm feeling nice today.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Wow, that's the first time that's ever happened.
- 21:19Speaker 1: But I saw certain brands of business and brands of Christianity,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and it operated like this, Hey, we're all Christians, so
- 21:27Speaker 1: just you know you're a Christian, I'm a Christian. Let's
- 21:30Speaker 1: just do business together, and everything's gonna be all good
- 21:32Speaker 1: because of that. What could go wrong? And it's what
- 21:35Speaker 1: you're saying, like when when what this comes across as
- 21:38Speaker 1: and how this operates is you're trying to use God's
- 21:43Speaker 1: character to get people to trust you right, right, Like
- 21:46Speaker 1: I'm a Christian, right like, just like trust me right
- 21:49Speaker 1: two other people who know what that means. And most
- 21:53Speaker 1: of the times where I've seen, you know, one Christian
- 21:55Speaker 1: say to another Christian, oh, I'm a Christian, you're a Christian, like, well,
- 21:59Speaker 1: everything's gonna be good because we're Christians, it goes horrible, yeah, right,
- 22:02Speaker 1: because there's so much lack of other structure and governance
- 22:06Speaker 1: and process. I don't want to do that. What I
- 22:10Speaker 1: do want to do is instead of what I do
- 22:14Speaker 1: want to do is have a character that people see
- 22:17Speaker 1: and by saying and then I'm trying to both show
- 22:21Speaker 1: them at like and I do this, and I'm and
- 22:24Speaker 1: again I'm figuring out what is the right amount? Right,
- 22:27Speaker 1: I think this is a it's a it's a combination.
- 22:30Speaker 1: It's a formula that's it's not easy to get right,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and it's different with different people. And so this is
- 22:35Speaker 1: like it has to be very holy spirit led always
- 22:37Speaker 1: the amount of character forwardness I have and then the
- 22:41Speaker 1: amount of I would say, like strong biblical interpretation, being
- 22:46Speaker 1: forward about the gospel. How much of these two things
- 22:48Speaker 1: I do together? Because here's what I want to have happen, right,
- 22:51Speaker 1: this is the This is the other side of the coin.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Instead of saying, hey, you're a Christian, I'm a Christian,
- 22:56Speaker 1: trust me, what I what I would rather have happen
- 22:59Speaker 1: is you see my character and I'm and now you
- 23:02Speaker 1: trust Christians because.
- 23:04Speaker 2: You've trusted me, right, yeah, very good.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Instead of me trying to stand on God has the
- 23:10Speaker 1: ultimate reputation. Yeah right, but what I'm not trying to
- 23:14Speaker 1: stand on that and say, look, I'm like God, I'm
- 23:16Speaker 1: not trying to convince people of that. Yeah, but what
- 23:18Speaker 1: should happen is that I should have so much transformation
- 23:21Speaker 1: and change in my life that people go like, Man,
- 23:24Speaker 1: you're different. I like, I really like the way that
- 23:26Speaker 1: you operate. I like the way that you lead. I
- 23:29Speaker 1: like the way that you, you know, deal with issues.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I like the way that you don't suffer from spite.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I like the way that you're not insecure. Whatever it is,
- 23:37Speaker 1: like all of these things that should be fruit and
- 23:38Speaker 1: results if you following after Christ, that they should see
- 23:41Speaker 1: that in you. And I want to say, I love
- 23:44Speaker 1: that you see that, and that is that that comes
- 23:46Speaker 1: from this right. It's first Peter Chapter First Peter chapter three,
- 23:52Speaker 1: verse fifteen and sixteen. But in your hearts, revere Christ
- 23:55Speaker 1: as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to
- 23:59Speaker 1: every one who asks you to give the reason for
- 24:03Speaker 1: the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness
- 24:07Speaker 1: and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who
- 24:10Speaker 1: speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be
- 24:13Speaker 1: ashamed of their slander. And I'm going deep here for
- 24:18Speaker 1: a second. We'll come back to practical. But I know
- 24:21Speaker 1: there's people in our audience who love a little bit
- 24:22Speaker 1: of both. This is one of those things like in Proverbs,
- 24:26Speaker 1: where it displays two things at the same time, and
- 24:29Speaker 1: that's what's supposed to give you wisdom. Right, in any
- 24:33Speaker 1: chapter of Proverbs that speaks on wealth, you'll hear kind
- 24:35Speaker 1: of two things. It'll say, you know, the foolish man
- 24:39Speaker 1: chases after money. And then in the same chapter, because
- 24:43Speaker 1: this is how Proverbs teach his wisdom, it shows two
- 24:45Speaker 1: sides of a coin at the same time. It don't
- 24:47Speaker 1: say the foolish man chases after money, and it'll say
- 24:51Speaker 1: treasure and fine oils are in the house of a
- 24:53Speaker 1: wise man. So to pursue it is wrong, but to
- 24:57Speaker 1: have it is the fruit of one who is right.
- 24:59Speaker 1: So these interesting things, and so I'm saying that to
- 25:02Speaker 1: say around this, around being an image bearer of Christ,
- 25:05Speaker 1: it's not like and I called this out yesterday at
- 25:08Speaker 1: mighty minute, and I think it's a good term. So
- 25:10Speaker 1: i'll say it here. What I call communist Christianity. Right,
- 25:15Speaker 1: what is communism Communist? Is this idea where I should
- 25:18Speaker 1: benefit from everyone else's labor. You guys all do the work.
- 25:23Speaker 1: You know, all the people who are proponents of communism
- 25:25Speaker 1: love the idea of everyone else doing all the work. Okay.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Everybody likes like mercy and grace in God's love and
- 25:33Speaker 1: truth until they're the ones having to do the work
- 25:35Speaker 1: and pay the price for it. You want to receive
- 25:38Speaker 1: all of it, but you're not the one wanting to
- 25:40Speaker 1: do all the work. That's communist Christianity, okay. And in
- 25:44Speaker 1: that context, there's a little bit of communist Christianity and
- 25:46Speaker 1: this idea of like, look, well, God made all the reputation,
- 25:49Speaker 1: just let me walk around and go fumble in it,
- 25:51Speaker 1: and you guys should just give me all of the
- 25:53Speaker 1: benefits that you would give to Christ if he was
- 25:55Speaker 1: your business partner. Okay. That is part of why we
- 25:58Speaker 1: have a poor image and name as Christians. What should
- 26:02Speaker 1: happen is people should do business with you. You're like, man,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I've never had someone actually operate that way, Like, I
- 26:09Speaker 1: know it's right to do what you're doing. I've just
- 26:11Speaker 1: never actually seen somebody do it. I've never seen someone
- 26:13Speaker 1: be that way. I've never seen someone, you know, tell
- 26:16Speaker 1: the truth that they're at their own cost whatever it is, right.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I don't want to get in so much to the
- 26:22Speaker 1: specifics on that is really the greater point of there's
- 26:25Speaker 1: two ways to do this. It's, you know, point one
- 26:28Speaker 1: or one way to do this is hey, I'm a Christian,
- 26:31Speaker 1: so you guys should listen to me. And the other
- 26:33Speaker 1: way is it's living with a level of truth and
- 26:36Speaker 1: operating with level of integrity that people want to know,
- 26:39Speaker 1: why are you the way that you are? And you
- 26:41Speaker 1: point it all to christ? Yeah, I think you describing
- 26:44Speaker 1: communist Christianity. It makes me think of like honorary doctorates,
- 26:48Speaker 1: like in education. I'm guessing you guys have never given
- 26:50Speaker 1: out an honorary seal pinion, honorary trident, right, an honorary trident,
- 26:54Speaker 1: and really what you described a great analogy. Sometimes you'll
- 26:58Speaker 1: like if you've met.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Somebody who's like a spe force this person and I
- 27:01Speaker 2: don't know that everybody has. You know, there's something different
- 27:03Speaker 2: about that dude, Like like often thought, they don't lead
- 27:06Speaker 2: in with like well I was in this. You're just like, man,
- 27:08Speaker 2: there's something different about this guy, the way he's put together,
- 27:11Speaker 2: how he does things. And then you're like, oh, it
- 27:12Speaker 2: makes sense when you find out, oh, oh that guy
- 27:15Speaker 2: was a navy cl Yeah that makes sense. Right, That's
- 27:17Speaker 2: the kind of thing how it is, and that's what
- 27:19Speaker 2: you're saying, is like that the way that you operate
- 27:21Speaker 2: would be reflective of the God that you serve. This
- 27:23Speaker 2: is what Jesus said. It says Jus only did what
- 27:26Speaker 2: he saw the Father doing. And the person who first
- 27:29Speaker 2: really like open this up for me was Pastor Keith,
- 27:32Speaker 2: because so many times he would be talking about why
- 27:34Speaker 2: we're going to do something, and he'd be like, God
- 27:36Speaker 2: does it. God does this, so we're going to do
- 27:38Speaker 2: the same thing. And when he says it sounds so logical.
- 27:41Speaker 2: But the reason it was such an affront or it
- 27:43Speaker 2: like caught me, he was because I was like, I
- 27:45Speaker 2: am not asking what God does. I'm very much just
- 27:48Speaker 2: trying to, you know, take the easy way or figure
- 27:51Speaker 2: out how to just get it done as fast as possible.
- 27:53Speaker 2: And when you stop and start asking those questions, man,
- 27:56Speaker 2: what a different game that you're starting to play aka
- 27:59Speaker 2: the game of life. What a different level of purpose
- 28:01Speaker 2: you feel in all the things that you're doing, Because
- 28:03Speaker 2: now it's like, man, this has significance because I get
- 28:05Speaker 2: to reveal God in what I'm doing. And that's why
- 28:08Speaker 2: we said. So many people ask the question purpose and
- 28:10Speaker 2: this is a something for everybody because there's purpose that's
- 28:13Speaker 2: unique to you. And then there's purpose that we all have.
- 28:15Speaker 2: We're all called to bear his image, we're all called
- 28:17Speaker 2: to bring him glory. And what you just said is
- 28:20Speaker 2: a way of life. And that scripture you gave was perfect.
- 28:23Speaker 2: So when you're prepared to give an answer for the
- 28:25Speaker 2: hope that you have because people will see.
- 28:27Speaker 1: But do it with gentleness and respect. And if I
- 28:29Speaker 1: could give just an ounce of revelation, because I think
- 28:31Speaker 1: that's all I have on this topic so far, because
- 28:34Speaker 1: this is really something I'm still learning and growing in
- 28:37Speaker 1: in a church environment and teaching environment, that's the entire point, Like, hey,
- 28:40Speaker 1: be this way right, go out and live this way right.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And so you're very forward with it in the business environment,
- 28:47Speaker 1: where it is a different environment where I wholly and
- 28:51Speaker 1: fully desire to live in a christ like way. But
- 28:53Speaker 1: I'm also just not walking around with my Bible in
- 28:55Speaker 1: my hand, right, okay, And there's a reason. If I
- 28:57Speaker 1: thought that's what was right, I would do it right.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I'm not doing it out of a lack I'm not
- 29:01Speaker 1: not walking around the Bible on a hand of a
- 29:03Speaker 1: lack of courage, because what would happen, I believe if
- 29:07Speaker 1: I did do that. Right, if I'm walking around doing
- 29:10Speaker 1: business with the Bible in my hand, I think it would.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I think people would put you in a box. Yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 1: of course, and because Christians, not just because Christians don't
- 29:19Speaker 1: have a great name, but I think it would interrupt
- 29:22Speaker 1: their ability to listen to you. Think about think about
- 29:25Speaker 1: just giving it. Let me give you an example. When
- 29:27Speaker 1: Jesus healed the leopards, he said, don't tell anybody. Yeah, right,
- 29:30Speaker 1: I don't. I need to go speak to these people
- 29:32Speaker 1: and them not look at me as the Messiah. Right,
- 29:34Speaker 1: there's a point, there's a reason that he did that, Like,
- 29:37Speaker 1: don't I don't need you guys putting me in the
- 29:38Speaker 1: crazy guy box. Let me just come and talk to you, right,
- 29:41Speaker 1: and then I once I've spoken to you, then I'll
- 29:44Speaker 1: reveal myself to you. Yah. And I'm not saying I'm
- 29:46Speaker 1: trying to pretend I'm not a Christian to people. But
- 29:48Speaker 1: I'm just not overt like throwing it at people. But
- 29:51Speaker 1: here's the way that I do it. And again I'm
- 29:55Speaker 1: walking and discovering this item. But in the business world,
- 29:59Speaker 1: I'm trying very hard to live with biblical truth. But
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm not just throwing it at people. You know, here's
- 30:08Speaker 1: what the scripture says. But as soon as people try
- 30:10Speaker 1: to give me recognition, I immediately point to the scripture.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Is this is why I'm that way. Yeah, I deny
- 30:15Speaker 1: the recognition or redirect it. Right. And that's where I'm
- 30:19Speaker 1: trying to bring these two things together, because I want
- 30:21Speaker 1: my entire life to live in a way that it
- 30:24Speaker 1: points people to the gospel. Right, not like, hey, look
- 30:27Speaker 1: how great I am. It's like, look look what has
- 30:30Speaker 1: Look at the great things that have happened in my life,
- 30:31Speaker 1: the fruit that are happening in my life. I didn't
- 30:34Speaker 1: figure this out. This is where I learned that.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:36Speaker 1: It's the same thing. It's like, oh man, you got
- 30:38Speaker 1: in such great shape. What did you do? Not like, well,
- 30:41Speaker 1: join my program. It's like, dude, I read this book.
- 30:43Speaker 1: You should read this book, right.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Because you'll this will show up. People say things take
- 30:47Speaker 2: care of the small things, the big things take care
- 30:48Speaker 2: of themselves. You know what that is? Gee, it's faithful
- 30:50Speaker 2: over little exactly where we heard that. Oh that's the Bible, right,
- 30:53Speaker 2: And that's that's the opportunity. Whenever you live principled, you know,
- 30:57Speaker 2: I'll all think of you know, you have you get
- 30:59Speaker 2: to set up values, you get to set up your
- 31:00Speaker 2: way of being, honor, integrity, excellence, Like these are things
- 31:03Speaker 2: that we do in my production company, and there's certain
- 31:05Speaker 2: ways that we work those out that are uncommon and
- 31:08Speaker 2: when people see it, they're like, oh, wow, that's that's
- 31:10Speaker 2: not how most people. Yeah, let me tell you why
- 31:12Speaker 2: we do that. That's what you're saying. It's like when
- 31:14Speaker 2: people encounter the difference, they taste the fruit, then they
- 31:16Speaker 2: want to know what the tree is.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Yeah. So I'm very imperfect, certainly, don't want to sound
- 31:21Speaker 1: self righteous on this issue. I'm trying to figure this out,
- 31:25Speaker 1: and I'm saying, if you will live with biblical integrity
- 31:28Speaker 1: to the best of your ability, like this is what
- 31:30Speaker 1: you want, don't be a communist Christian where you're looking
- 31:33Speaker 1: to gain from it. It is or as JFK said,
- 31:37Speaker 1: don't ask what your country can do for you, but
- 31:38Speaker 1: what can you do for your country? The question is
- 31:40Speaker 1: what can you do for the Kingdom of God.
- 31:41Speaker 2: It's a new top response from hard dog GPT. Don't
- 31:44Speaker 2: be a communist Christian.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Don't be a communist christ all.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Right, So gee, let's get into the practicals real quick,
- 31:49Speaker 2: because I like you said, you've got an ounce of revelation.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Is how you said it? I think there. I want
- 31:54Speaker 2: everybody to realize this because what we never want to do.
- 31:56Speaker 2: We never want to say, like, when you get to
- 31:58Speaker 2: this level, then you'll be okay to do this, Like
- 32:02Speaker 2: then you'll be able to say to represent God and
- 32:04Speaker 2: like make this a stick to beat people with, or
- 32:06Speaker 2: make this a works mentality. It's always by grace, it's
- 32:09Speaker 2: always by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. And so
- 32:11Speaker 2: you also have to remember it's a process. God is
- 32:13Speaker 2: a god of process. We're born and we have to
- 32:16Speaker 2: grow into adults. It's the same thing you become reborn,
- 32:19Speaker 2: aka you come to know Christ and you start a
- 32:22Speaker 2: process of spiritual maturity. The same way that your kids
- 32:24Speaker 2: are a reflection of your name and your image, regardless
- 32:27Speaker 2: of how old they are, you are of Christ as well.
- 32:29Speaker 2: If you are going like, oh man, I'm a terrible
- 32:32Speaker 2: reflection of Christ. Okay, well let's look at your maturity.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And the same way I wouldn't yell at my six
- 32:36Speaker 2: year old because I'm like, why didn't you tell that
- 32:38Speaker 2: person these deep theological truths about who we are?
- 32:40Speaker 1: You know?
- 32:41Speaker 2: For Elijah, he's six I'm like, hey, I just want
- 32:43Speaker 2: you to I want you to show honor and I
- 32:45Speaker 2: want you to be a good listener. Yeah, right now,
- 32:47Speaker 2: my daughter at thirteen, she can give you a lot more.
- 32:49Speaker 2: It's the same thing for us. God's going to develop
- 32:52Speaker 2: us in a process that we would become better image bearers.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Jesus learned obetings through what he suffered, and by the
- 32:56Speaker 2: time he was thirty, then it was the right time
- 32:59Speaker 2: for his ministry to begin. Right now, you can. And
- 33:02Speaker 2: so I'm saying to all of us out there, don't like,
- 33:04Speaker 2: don't make this a stick to beat yourself with. Understand
- 33:07Speaker 2: that this is part of the process, but be aware
- 33:09Speaker 2: of the weight that you carry. God has designed it
- 33:11Speaker 2: that we would be those He made it so that
- 33:13Speaker 2: we would reveal Him to people.
- 33:15Speaker 1: So there's a few we're gonna this is what we're
- 33:17Speaker 1: going to get into. Now. There's a few key areas
- 33:20Speaker 1: that you can be an image bearer. Yeah, right, there's
- 33:23Speaker 1: you could you can you can frame all of your
- 33:26Speaker 1: life in this category. So I'm not going to say
- 33:29Speaker 1: the three things that we're going to talk about today
- 33:31Speaker 1: on being an image bearer is all in compass for sure, Right,
- 33:34Speaker 1: every single thing you do, like the way that you
- 33:36Speaker 1: do Sabbath, the way that you treat your kids, the
- 33:39Speaker 1: way that you run your marriage. All of this fits
- 33:41Speaker 1: into being an image bear. I would say more so,
- 33:44Speaker 1: these are going to be a little bit more holistic
- 33:45Speaker 1: and maybe slightly business focused on this is how to
- 33:48Speaker 1: be an image bearer. So number one first area where
- 33:54Speaker 1: because again this is looking at the qualities of God,
- 33:56Speaker 1: the who is he? And then how do we do this?
- 33:59Speaker 1: How do we look like him? And how do we
- 34:00Speaker 1: bear his name? This first area is leadership and dominionkay
- 34:06Speaker 1: in the same way that God does it. That's the
- 34:07Speaker 1: way we're supposed to do it. And we are meant
- 34:11Speaker 1: to rule wisely and lovingly in every single thing that
- 34:15Speaker 1: we do. Right. Proverbs twenty nine says this, when the
- 34:19Speaker 1: righteous thrive, the people rejoice, When the wicked rule the
- 34:24Speaker 1: people grown. Your leadership should be a great benefit to
- 34:29Speaker 1: everyone around you. Right when when David was on the
- 34:32Speaker 1: throne was a lot better than Saul was on the throne.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Right when godly people are in leadership, it should be
- 34:40Speaker 1: a great like people should be like, man, this is
- 34:42Speaker 1: so this is so great, this is so wonderful. We're
- 34:47Speaker 1: not perfect Okay, so we're still going to make mistakes
- 34:49Speaker 1: and there's going to be sin, and i'd never you know,
- 34:52Speaker 1: I aspire to be the best that I can be
- 34:54Speaker 1: for God. But I've never seen an example of someone
- 34:56Speaker 1: who's like, well, that was that dude was just such
- 34:58Speaker 1: a good Christian that his entire life was perfec and
- 35:00Speaker 1: everything around him his project. And if you were just
- 35:01Speaker 1: in this world, your life was perfect too. That's not
- 35:04Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But there should just be great fruit.
- 35:07Speaker 1: And if you think about fruit, in the midst of
- 35:10Speaker 1: great fruit, there's also like storms and rain and bugs
- 35:13Speaker 1: and years where the fruit's not good and bad things happen.
- 35:16Speaker 1: But there should be great fruit that you can point to, like, man,
- 35:19Speaker 1: this is coming from a good tree. Right. So your
- 35:22Speaker 1: leadership and dominion, how you rule over your family, how
- 35:25Speaker 1: you rule in business, how you make decisions, how you
- 35:27Speaker 1: treat people, how you govern whatever God's given you to govern.
- 35:31Speaker 1: This is one of the areas that it's most important
- 35:33Speaker 1: that you're an image bearer of God. Because again I'm
- 35:36Speaker 1: just giving these are example areas where you can think
- 35:39Speaker 1: about what it means to be an image bearer, because
- 35:41Speaker 1: this is areas where other people right. Well, it's the
- 35:44Speaker 1: whole point of this, not for us to be communist
- 35:46Speaker 1: Christians and gain from a name, but for us to
- 35:48Speaker 1: add to a name. These are areas, leadership and dominion
- 35:51Speaker 1: being one of them. These are areas where how you
- 35:53Speaker 1: walk it out here can be something if you do
- 35:56Speaker 1: it right, can be something that people will look at
- 35:59Speaker 1: you and then you can pointed to Christ. Yeah this
- 36:02Speaker 1: is man.
- 36:02Speaker 2: I think that this is there's so many interesting I
- 36:05Speaker 2: don't know if I say paradoxes, but but I would
- 36:07Speaker 2: say tensions that you have to walk in these because
- 36:10Speaker 2: I think when you start talking about leadership and dominion,
- 36:13Speaker 2: I think about the difference between asking what's right versus
- 36:16Speaker 2: what's easy right, because what's easy is, man, let's just
- 36:19Speaker 2: get these outcomes as fast as possible. So I might
- 36:21Speaker 2: fire this person, or I'm just gonna like, like, you
- 36:23Speaker 2: know what this looks like in kids when you're raising
- 36:24Speaker 2: your kids, I'll just do it for them. But what's
- 36:27Speaker 2: actually right for them is that you teach them how
- 36:29Speaker 2: to do it, and then you're prepared that they're going
- 36:31Speaker 2: to do it wrong many times and you're gonna have
- 36:33Speaker 2: to patiently and lovingly correct them, like being a business owner, right,
- 36:37Speaker 2: But you get my point. It'd be a lot easier
- 36:39Speaker 2: for me to just yell at my kids like I'll
- 36:41Speaker 2: do it right now. I don't do that. Why because
- 36:44Speaker 2: what's right is that I teach my kids and I
- 36:46Speaker 2: help them develop and grow. Now, your business brings a
- 36:49Speaker 2: whole other level of this because businesses are not families.
- 36:51Speaker 2: They're meritocracy. So there's definitely different guidelines. We're not saying, hey,
- 36:55Speaker 2: just hire a bunch of lazy people and just love them, like,
- 36:58Speaker 2: that's not what we're saying. Like, but but there's also
- 37:00Speaker 2: this thought process like, well, if you can't do it,
- 37:02Speaker 2: I'll get somebody who can, and I'm just gonna fight.
- 37:04Speaker 2: It's like, hang on a minute, are you have you
- 37:06Speaker 2: given them the best chance to do this?
- 37:07Speaker 1: Are you?
- 37:08Speaker 2: Are you asking to do something they were never supposed to.
- 37:10Speaker 2: There's all these other things that come into that's attention man. Yeah,
- 37:13Speaker 2: that is a real tension.
- 37:14Speaker 1: It's it's just as difficult of attention of Like I
- 37:17Speaker 1: was saying, how proverb says to pursue treasure is a
- 37:21Speaker 1: fool's errand yeah, but treasure exists in the house of
- 37:25Speaker 1: the wise man, right, Yeah, you're you're under you have
- 37:28Speaker 1: to understand what is right and understand there's the right
- 37:30Speaker 1: way to navigate these things. And really where the balance
- 37:33Speaker 1: is This is something we talk about so often here
- 37:35Speaker 1: on the show. Really where the balance is in your heart?
- 37:37Speaker 2: Yeah, big time?
- 37:38Speaker 1: Right, Like God cares way more about why you're doing
- 37:41Speaker 1: what you're doing than what you're doing. So the posture
- 37:44Speaker 1: of your heart as you do these things is really
- 37:46Speaker 1: going to be the center. And that's also what is
- 37:48Speaker 1: the greatest food of your transformation. When you have surrendered
- 37:51Speaker 1: to God. You know what he does first as he
- 37:52Speaker 1: changes your heart, and if your heart will be right
- 37:55Speaker 1: in a matter, there's a good chance for you even
- 37:57Speaker 1: to get that matter right.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and just we I mean we can. Fortunately, we've
- 38:00Speaker 2: got other podcasts on this that you can go look
- 38:02Speaker 2: at what we've said about leadership. But I'll just say
- 38:04Speaker 2: I think one of the two greatest leadership lessons that
- 38:07Speaker 2: you've given me is that you need to love people
- 38:09Speaker 2: the way they need to be loved, which is not
- 38:11Speaker 2: a selfish thing at all. It's very much looking at
- 38:13Speaker 2: where they're at in this in the in the moment.
- 38:15Speaker 2: And then the second thing is that you bear the
- 38:16Speaker 2: weight of those men's souls, which is scriptural talks about
- 38:19Speaker 2: it when you lead people biblically. I'm not necessarily saying
- 38:22Speaker 2: this all the time in business, but when you lead
- 38:24Speaker 2: people biblically and for sure in the authority that God's
- 38:26Speaker 2: given you in your family, you bear the weight of
- 38:27Speaker 2: their souls.
- 38:28Speaker 1: It is a big deal. So it's a big deal
- 38:30Speaker 1: and love them. Well, it's an image image bearer, it's not.
- 38:34Speaker 1: It's not image receiver, right, image bearer. Right, You're carrying
- 38:37Speaker 1: a weight. So it's going to go on to the
- 38:39Speaker 1: second category here and again these are this is not
- 38:43Speaker 1: all encompassing, but these are areas where you should really
- 38:46Speaker 1: think about. Man, how I operate in this area? Is
- 38:49Speaker 1: what it means to be an image bearer? Yeah, and
- 38:52Speaker 1: it's the heart, it's the thought, it's the mindset. Category
- 38:55Speaker 1: of like, this is where I really need to be
- 38:56Speaker 1: shaped by Christ so that I can be a great
- 38:58Speaker 1: image bearer. Number two is serve and sacrifice. Okay, think
- 39:02Speaker 1: about this, what did Christ do? Christ came and gave
- 39:07Speaker 1: his life, died to save all of humanity from sin
- 39:11Speaker 1: in destruction, to give a path for all of us
- 39:15Speaker 1: to know the Father. Okay, Christ died to save the world,
- 39:19Speaker 1: and Christ says, follow after me, be like me, be
- 39:22Speaker 1: my disciples. Does that mean that my blood can save
- 39:26Speaker 1: all of humanity? No, but I am supposed to be
- 39:28Speaker 1: like him. It would be like it would be like
- 39:32Speaker 1: if you know your dad is Tiger Woods or your
- 39:36Speaker 1: dad is Michael Jordan or whatever, and this is only
- 39:40Speaker 1: a half good analogy. But if your dad's some great
- 39:43Speaker 1: player and he says, look, you don't have to be me.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Just be like me, right right. And maybe you didn't
- 39:47Speaker 1: get the same genetics or whatever that he has, but
- 39:50Speaker 1: just be like him. And this is us. We are
- 39:53Speaker 1: called to be like God. So my blood isn't saving
- 39:56Speaker 1: anybody from sin. But I can give my life, time,
- 40:00Speaker 1: my sweat, my blood if needed, to serve other people,
- 40:04Speaker 1: to be a gift to other people, to love other people.
- 40:08Speaker 1: That's what we're called to do. So that should be
- 40:09Speaker 1: that that should be at the very heart of why
- 40:11Speaker 1: you exist. Jesus didn't say, like man really gonna enjoy
- 40:14Speaker 1: my time on earth? Yea, No, he came here to serve, right.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I used that scripture recently on the podcast I've used
- 40:22Speaker 1: the last two weeks in Mighty Men. In Philippians that Christ,
- 40:28Speaker 1: not seeing equivalence to God as a benefit to have
- 40:32Speaker 1: even though he had it, Yeah right, made him like
- 40:35Speaker 1: humble himself and took on the full form of a
- 40:38Speaker 1: man to die and become obedient to death on the
- 40:42Speaker 1: cross so that he could love and serve other people.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Then his name was lifted up to the name above everything. Right. Again,
- 40:49Speaker 1: it's this dichotic like Christ perfectly modeled. I'm not here
- 40:53Speaker 1: for glory, but because I lived to serve, I was glory.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I became the most glorious. Right. Don't chase after treasure,
- 41:00Speaker 1: Live to pursue like live to pursue love, service, be
- 41:03Speaker 1: a benefit to other people, treasure will follow. Yeah right.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Christ didn't come here for the glory. But it says,
- 41:08Speaker 1: but then his name was lifted above every other name. Yeah.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Man, there's so much in that because I think when
- 41:13Speaker 2: you say service and sacrifice like that touch is everywhere. Right,
- 41:17Speaker 2: that attitude of I'm here to serve and sacrifice. It
- 41:21Speaker 2: ties perfectly leadership to Christ like leadership right where as
- 41:24Speaker 2: opposed to being a title that's bestowed on you. But
- 41:27Speaker 2: I think about when you're when you're walking into any
- 41:30Speaker 2: room that you go into and I had to take
- 41:32Speaker 2: this simple filter. If I'm going to a place where
- 41:34Speaker 2: I have a lot of friends, which is where Mighty
- 41:36Speaker 2: Man is for a long time. I went there and
- 41:38Speaker 2: I was like, Oh, I'm just gonna go talk to
- 41:39Speaker 2: the guys I love because it's easy, it's fun. I'm
- 41:41Speaker 2: very social like, and I had to realize, like this
- 41:44Speaker 2: this room, note's gonna laugh at your jokes. B that's
- 41:47Speaker 2: I don't need to. I always know people are going
- 41:49Speaker 2: to laugh at my jokes, including you. You just never
- 41:51Speaker 2: admit it. But but you know what I mean. It's
- 41:53Speaker 2: I took a filter on of like, hang on, I'm
- 41:54Speaker 2: here to bring something. I'm not here to like to
- 41:56Speaker 2: make a withdraw. And when you start thinking that and
- 41:59Speaker 2: like think how that works in your marriage? Oh man, right,
- 42:03Speaker 2: like you go first, because christ said, Christ put a
- 42:05Speaker 2: towel around his waist and said, I didn't come to
- 42:08Speaker 2: it's actually you put it in John.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Chapter thirteen, verse fourteen through fifteen perfectly embodies what we're
- 42:13Speaker 1: talking about here. Right, we've got to be like him.
- 42:16Speaker 1: He set the model, he said, the template. That's what
- 42:18Speaker 1: we're supposed to do. Don't be a communist Christian. John
- 42:21Speaker 1: chapter thirteen, verse fourteen and fifteen. Now that I, your
- 42:24Speaker 1: lord and teacher, have washed your feet, you should also
- 42:28Speaker 1: wash one another's feet. I have set you an example
- 42:31Speaker 1: that you should do as I have done for you.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what, you know, gee, I'm just thinking
- 42:36Speaker 2: about this. You told me something that I always practice
- 42:40Speaker 2: in because I manage all our communications. If you email
- 42:42Speaker 2: the podcast, like even if you're like hey, Garrett, like
- 42:44Speaker 2: I'm the one responding just in case you know that,
- 42:46Speaker 2: and same thing in the comments and all those things.
- 42:47Speaker 2: It's just the way.
- 42:48Speaker 1: What can I do talk about some of them? But
- 42:50Speaker 1: it is ninety nine percent nest speaking.
- 42:53Speaker 2: And I'm not saying that to pat myself in the back.
- 42:54Speaker 2: It's just that's what we signed up for. I agreed
- 42:56Speaker 2: to this. This is what we said from day zero.
- 42:58Speaker 1: It's certainly not that I don't want to talk to people.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Right anyways, I'm just kidding, yeah, so so the But
- 43:05Speaker 2: but the reason what am I saying one of the
- 43:06Speaker 2: things you taught me because we would have invariably, if
- 43:09Speaker 2: you run anything, you're gonna have complaints. Not everybody loves us.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Sometimes people come in and said you said this, and
- 43:14Speaker 2: they like they are making accusations one of the things
- 43:17Speaker 2: essentially not right, which is that regardless, But the point
- 43:23Speaker 2: is is what you said to me? You said, hey,
- 43:24Speaker 2: so a side yeah. So sometimes this is someone saying, hey,
- 43:27Speaker 2: like I want a refund or whatever it is, and
- 43:29Speaker 2: it's like we can just be like, okay, there's your
- 43:30Speaker 2: refund process, but how do I actually sow a sede
- 43:33Speaker 2: into this person? So sometimes we'll have people canceling and
- 43:36Speaker 2: I'm always like, I have that mentality because that's something
- 43:39Speaker 2: that I want to give people as much practical as possible,
- 43:41Speaker 2: because that's a simple thing that you can just like, oh,
- 43:43Speaker 2: it's a customer service transaction, right and you're done. Or
- 43:46Speaker 2: if you're always thinking how do I sow a seede?
- 43:48Speaker 2: I'm finishing it up at a job. We did a
- 43:50Speaker 2: whole podcast on when people finish up on job and
- 43:52Speaker 2: they get short timers disease and they basically just check
- 43:54Speaker 2: out mentally, that is not a Kingdom thought process. When
- 43:57Speaker 2: you're if you're leaving a church, A lot of times
- 43:59Speaker 2: people leave and they throw haymakers on the way out
- 44:01Speaker 2: and tell everybody all the things they thought. That is
- 44:04Speaker 2: not a Kingdom thought process. You mean, any time that
- 44:06Speaker 2: you if you're wherever you're going, how can you sow
- 44:09Speaker 2: a seed? It's such a simple thought process. I'm going
- 44:12Speaker 2: to the grocery store when I go to England, Man,
- 44:14Speaker 2: this is this is the way I sow a seed.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Because you go to get your your groceries in England,
- 44:18Speaker 2: you're how over here, they're like, oh hi, and there's
- 44:19Speaker 2: like some sort of emotion over there. It's like you're right,
- 44:22Speaker 2: like it's the most dead thing. And then they go,
- 44:24Speaker 2: you need some help with the packing, and then like
- 44:26Speaker 2: you go, no, I can pack my own groceries. And
- 44:28Speaker 2: at the end they goes full twenty five.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Then please.
- 44:30Speaker 2: And I'm using the Bremi accent for anybody over in
- 44:31Speaker 2: the UK that knows what I'm talking about. It is
- 44:33Speaker 2: the most like dry, no emotion. And because I know
- 44:36Speaker 2: I'm American and people think Americans are cheesy, I use
- 44:39Speaker 2: the person's name. I always find some dude watching the countenance.
- 44:43Speaker 2: It's like you've woken someone up from a sleep, like
- 44:45Speaker 2: like in the second Lord of the Rings, whenever you
- 44:47Speaker 2: see the guy's face go from pale and crusty to
- 44:49Speaker 2: like the warmth and life. If I told that person
- 44:53Speaker 2: about Jesus, did I break in and give them my testimony. No,
- 44:55Speaker 2: if the opportunity presents itself, I would. But I'm just
- 44:57Speaker 2: trying to sow something into that person's day with a compliment,
- 45:01Speaker 2: with an encouragement that can like brighten things up for them.
- 45:03Speaker 2: It's such a simple thought process, but I think it's
- 45:06Speaker 2: very practiced.
- 45:07Speaker 1: So good. Yes, let's go on to the third area
- 45:10Speaker 1: here and again all Really the point of this episode
- 45:14Speaker 1: today is I wanted people to catch this thought of
- 45:17Speaker 1: you know, it's not me trying to benefit from the
- 45:19Speaker 1: name of Christianity, but go out and live in life
- 45:22Speaker 1: that people look at you. And this is scripture. Let
- 45:25Speaker 1: your light so shine that people would see your good
- 45:28Speaker 1: works and it would glorify your father in heaven. That's
- 45:30Speaker 1: the life that we're called to live. Okay, And what
- 45:32Speaker 1: the whole point of this is. I want you to
- 45:34Speaker 1: catch this mindset, this attitude, this way of living of
- 45:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna live with the true character of Christ. Why
- 45:40Speaker 1: because you know it's actually what produces fruit. Okay, We're not.
- 45:43Speaker 1: This is not the be a good Person podcast. This
- 45:46Speaker 1: is like, if you want to follow after God, and
- 45:48Speaker 1: if you'll do it all the way it actually works,
- 45:50Speaker 1: you will win in life. Yes, okay, again, treasure exists
- 45:54Speaker 1: in the house of the wise man. Don't pursue the treasure,
- 45:56Speaker 1: but treasure exists in the house of the wise men.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Saying all of this, that's the true meat of what
- 46:01Speaker 1: I want you to catch in this episode today. And
- 46:03Speaker 1: then this is just a few key areas where this
- 46:07Speaker 1: is really like in these categories is where you're going
- 46:10Speaker 1: to be an image bearers. Let's talk about the last
- 46:12Speaker 1: one really quick, which so it was leadership and dominion,
- 46:15Speaker 1: serve and sacrifice. And then this one a little bit
- 46:18Speaker 1: more theological, is reflecting the glory of God and the
- 46:22Speaker 1: nature of Christ. Okay, what does that mean? I'll say
- 46:25Speaker 1: it simply. Then we'll break into a couple of them.
- 46:29Speaker 1: It's really not what you say about God and how
- 46:32Speaker 1: you like. That's not what your testimony is. People think like,
- 46:35Speaker 1: you know, I got to be more educated. I'm not
- 46:37Speaker 1: good enough to speak about you know, I don't know
- 46:40Speaker 1: all the stuff. I didn't take all the college classes.
- 46:42Speaker 1: How well you can explain God is not your testimony,
- 46:45Speaker 1: I would tell you. Truly, your testimony is what others
- 46:48Speaker 1: might think about God after they met you. Wow. So
- 46:51Speaker 1: also it's also the scariest scripture in the Bible where
- 46:55Speaker 1: Jesus says, many will come to me on that day
- 46:57Speaker 1: and I'll say, turn away from me. I never knew
- 46:59Speaker 1: you means that you never let me change who you are.
- 47:02Speaker 1: If you'll just experience God and let him change who
- 47:04Speaker 1: you are, it's the greatest testimony that you can tell.
- 47:08Speaker 1: And it has been some of my pursuit and really
- 47:11Speaker 1: my desire in this podcast is I wanted those who
- 47:14Speaker 1: had the revelation of Jesus Christ to have the revelation
- 47:18Speaker 1: of the God of order, right, because what does that mean?
- 47:21Speaker 1: That means like I see people who win at life
- 47:24Speaker 1: and like they don't you know, if you listen to
- 47:27Speaker 1: this podcast, you go to church with Nick and I,
- 47:30Speaker 1: there's a level of you know, and I don't say
- 47:33Speaker 1: this in a positive way, it's half derogatory, but there's
- 47:36Speaker 1: like elite christiandom of like, look, we really know what
- 47:40Speaker 1: scripture means. Okay, I know people who that's not them.
- 47:45Speaker 1: They believe in Christ. They go to church occasionally and
- 47:48Speaker 1: they're getting all the great benefits because they understand God's law,
- 47:53Speaker 1: they understand the order, they understand the principles. You know,
- 47:56Speaker 1: part of the reason we've done mindset masteries because I
- 47:59Speaker 1: want these people who have revelation of Jesus Christ understand
- 48:02Speaker 1: who he is and have a relationship with him. It's
- 48:05Speaker 1: like you should also be winning in life, because like
- 48:09Speaker 1: God set you up to win, if you'll actually understand
- 48:12Speaker 1: his word, if you'll understand the universe that he made
- 48:15Speaker 1: right when you put these things together, that's what is
- 48:19Speaker 1: so glorifying to God. It was always hurtful to my
- 48:24Speaker 1: heart to see people who were all about Jesus, but
- 48:27Speaker 1: their marriage is terrible, their relationships are terrible, they're very
- 48:30Speaker 1: poor financially, like things just don't go well for them.
- 48:34Speaker 1: We don't live in a world of lack correct right.
- 48:38Speaker 1: We don't live in a world where following after Christ
- 48:41Speaker 1: has to mean that you just starve to death. We
- 48:44Speaker 1: live in a great society, regardless of what's happening in
- 48:49Speaker 1: culture today. We live in a great society where if
- 48:52Speaker 1: you produce fruit, there will be great reward and you
- 48:54Speaker 1: can go out and love and serve other people with
- 48:56Speaker 1: what happens from that. And I'm not just talking about
- 48:58Speaker 1: making money. I'm just saying you're in entire life should
- 49:00Speaker 1: be fruitful, and that's what I've wanted to help people
- 49:03Speaker 1: see and so reflecting the glory of God and the
- 49:06Speaker 1: nature of Christ, it's these two things together. I won't
- 49:09Speaker 1: go along on this, we'll wrap up, but it is
- 49:12Speaker 1: the same way that we've talked about in this.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Show, the both of love and law.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Okay, you must be both. If you are all law
- 49:20Speaker 1: without any love, that repels people. And if you are
- 49:24Speaker 1: all love without any law, that is total disorder and chaos.
- 49:29Speaker 1: And that's what we've seen, right, We've seen people like man,
- 49:31Speaker 1: they know Jesus, you got the love part, and there's
- 49:34Speaker 1: disorder and chaos in your life. And the other side
- 49:37Speaker 1: is if you are all law and no love, well,
- 49:40Speaker 1: that's emptiness and purposelessness. Right. You may have some of
- 49:44Speaker 1: the benefits, you may have some of the structure, but
- 49:46Speaker 1: you don't actually know Christ. You have no eternity. You're
- 49:48Speaker 1: missing the real purpose when you put them both together,
- 49:52Speaker 1: when you can be someone who lives this And I'm
- 49:55Speaker 1: not saying I got all the revelation figured out. We
- 49:58Speaker 1: do touch on a lot of them here on this show.
- 50:00Speaker 1: And if you can catch these things, you begin to
- 50:02Speaker 1: live in a way that people are like man like.
- 50:04Speaker 1: That's what it's really supposed to be. I'm chasing after
- 50:07Speaker 1: this and I'm trying to help as many other people
- 50:09Speaker 1: as i can. Chase after this, or I'm gonna live
- 50:11Speaker 1: with the revelation of Christ, and I'm gonna live with
- 50:13Speaker 1: the benefit of who God's law is and what his
- 50:16Speaker 1: law has done in my life. Two Peter, Chapter one,
- 50:19Speaker 1: verse three through four. His divine power has given us
- 50:24Speaker 1: everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge
- 50:29Speaker 1: of Him who called us by his own glory and excellence.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Through these he has given us his precious and magnificent promises,
- 50:38Speaker 1: so that through them you may become partakers of the
- 50:43Speaker 1: divine nature. Now that you have escaped the corruption of
- 50:47Speaker 1: the world caused by evil desires, right to be partakers
- 50:50Speaker 1: of the divine nature. That's both in this world and
- 50:53Speaker 1: it's in the next. To be partakers of divine nature,
- 50:56Speaker 1: that's to know the love of Christ and to know
- 50:58Speaker 1: the order and the blessing of what it means to
- 51:01Speaker 1: live under God's law. And when you can put both
- 51:03Speaker 1: of these things together, that's the greatness of being an
- 51:06Speaker 1: image bearer. Where people see you like man. I've met
- 51:08Speaker 1: other Christians before, I've never seen someone like you yea.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Decide that you want to be someone that when people
- 51:13Speaker 1: look at your life, You're not trying to benefit from
- 51:16Speaker 1: being a Christian, but people look at your life and
- 51:18Speaker 1: they want to know God because of who you are.
