- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Glaigne Maxwell has attempted to get Jeffrey Epstein's estate to
- 0:09Speaker 1: pay her legal bills for years now. Well. The estate
- 0:13Speaker 1: has now said in core documents that since Glaine Maxwell
- 0:17Speaker 1: doesn't have a lawyer representing her, that the case against
- 0:21Speaker 1: the estate should be thrown out and that they shouldn't
- 0:24Speaker 1: be on the hook for paying any of Glaine Maxwell's fees.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Can you imagine being this audacious, thinking that you have
- 0:31Speaker 1: some kind of entitlement to money from this estate after
- 0:34Speaker 1: you've been convicted of human trafficking due to your behavior,
- 0:38Speaker 1: due to your actions while with Jeffrey Epstein, and then
- 0:42Speaker 1: you have the audacity to show up talking about how
- 0:44Speaker 1: you're owed anything from any body. The fact that so
- 0:48Speaker 1: many people have gotten rich on the back of this
- 0:52Speaker 1: is enough to make me ill. Now, I'd be more
- 0:54Speaker 1: willing to just shake my head and accept it if
- 0:57Speaker 1: there was some justice that came along with all of that,
- 1:00Speaker 1: But there hasn't been. All there's been is a bunch
- 1:03Speaker 1: of settlements, a bunch of hush money, and no justice
- 1:06Speaker 1: for anybody involved. And at this point, I think we
- 1:09Speaker 1: all just have to concede and accept the fact that
- 1:12Speaker 1: there's not going to be any justice when it comes
- 1:15Speaker 1: to this case. Today's article is from Inside Edition. The
- 1:19Speaker 1: author of this article is Chris Spargo. Glenn Maxwell has
- 1:23Speaker 1: not had legal representation in the case since September of
- 1:27Speaker 1: last year, when her council announced that they would be
- 1:30Speaker 1: stepping down. In a filing that claim that they're convicted
- 1:34Speaker 1: sex offender, client owed them eight hundred and seventy eight thousand,
- 1:38Speaker 1: three hundred and two dollars and sixty six cents in
- 1:41Speaker 1: unpaid fees. So, because Maxwell doesn't have legal representation, the
- 1:46Speaker 1: estate saying that she has no basis to go after
- 1:49Speaker 1: this money. Now, is that going to be a winning
- 1:52Speaker 1: strategy for the estate. We'll have to see. But I
- 1:56Speaker 1: honestly have no idea how any judge anywhere in the
- 1:59Speaker 1: world can you'd give Gleann Maxwell a settlement. Here, lawyers
- 2:04Speaker 1: representing the estate of Jeffrey Epstein are asking a judge
- 2:07Speaker 1: in the Virgin Islands to dismiss the lawsuit filed by
- 2:10Speaker 1: Glene Maxwell in twenty twenty seeking millions of dollars to
- 2:15Speaker 1: cover her legal fees. In emotion filed last week obtained
- 2:19Speaker 1: by Inside Edition Digital. Lawyers for the estate and its executors,
- 2:23Speaker 1: Darren Endyke and Richard Kahn, noted that Maxwell has not
- 2:27Speaker 1: had legal representation in the case since September of last year,
- 2:32Speaker 1: when her council announced that they would be stepping down
- 2:35Speaker 1: and filing that claimed their convicted sex offender client owed
- 2:39Speaker 1: them eight hundred seventy eight thousand, three hundred and two
- 2:43Speaker 1: dollars and sixty five cents, And we talked about it
- 2:47Speaker 1: at the time when the story was breaking that Maxwell
- 2:50Speaker 1: was going to have trouble paying for her legal fees
- 2:53Speaker 1: because she got hosed by her ex husband, Scott Borgerson,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and according to Maxwell, that left her unable to pay
- 2:59Speaker 1: for her new legal representation and in a position where
- 3:03Speaker 1: she didn't have the funds to keep the expensive battle
- 3:05Speaker 1: going inside of the court, so her only option really
- 3:09Speaker 1: was to try and get some funds from the estate,
- 3:11Speaker 1: which she says that Jeffrey Epstein promised her if she
- 3:14Speaker 1: ever got in legal trouble. The estate, however, says there
- 3:17Speaker 1: was never any legal documentation that was entered into by
- 3:21Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell that would guarantee her anything as far
- 3:26Speaker 1: as her bills being paid if she ever got in trouble.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Maxwell has contended that she had an agreement from Epstein
- 3:33Speaker 1: that was signed on a napkin. They drew it up
- 3:35Speaker 1: on a napkin, and according to her, that's a legal
- 3:38Speaker 1: document and it's binding. So that's been the battle between
- 3:41Speaker 1: the estate and Glene Maxwell for years now, and it
- 3:45Speaker 1: seems like it's starting to heat up a little bit
- 3:47Speaker 1: due to these circumstances. The estate is asking the judge
- 3:51Speaker 1: to dismiss the proceedings over what they allege is Maxwell's
- 3:54Speaker 1: failure to prosecute. Court filing show that Maxwell sixty one
- 3:59Speaker 1: had has twice been instructed to retain new council and
- 4:03Speaker 1: on both occasions did not apply with the court's request.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So if the court orders you to do something and
- 4:09Speaker 1: you don't comply, there's going to be repercussions for that.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And for Glenn Maxwell, she's in jeopardy of getting this
- 4:16Speaker 1: whole entire motion tossed out on its ass. You have
- 4:20Speaker 1: to have legal counsel, you have to do everything the
- 4:22Speaker 1: court's telling you to do if you want to have
- 4:24Speaker 1: a valid case. Lawyers for Epstein's estate filed their motion
- 4:28Speaker 1: one hundred and eighty days after a March seventeenth hearing,
- 4:32Speaker 1: during which the judge in the case instructed Maxwell to
- 4:35Speaker 1: obtain legal counsel in the next sixty days if she
- 4:39Speaker 1: wished to pursue her lawsuit. Maxwell's counsel withdrew from representation
- 4:44Speaker 1: over one year ago, and since that time this case
- 4:47Speaker 1: has lain dormant. Though the court has granted her ample
- 4:52Speaker 1: time to find new counsel and ordered her to do so,
- 4:55Speaker 1: Maxwell has not done so. The Epstein's estate motion reads Additionally,
- 5:01Speaker 1: to the extent Maxwell is unable to retain new counsel,
- 5:04Speaker 1: nothing precludes her from litigating her claims pro say, but
- 5:09Speaker 1: she has thus far declined to do so. Accordingly, the
- 5:12Speaker 1: court should dismiss Maxwell's complaint. The filing also requests that
- 5:17Speaker 1: Maxwell be ordered to make an appearance in court within
- 5:21Speaker 1: thirty days if the motion to dismiss is denied by
- 5:24Speaker 1: the judge. It has been nearly four years since Maxwell
- 5:27Speaker 1: filed her lawsuit, requesting that Epstein's estate coverer, attorney's fees,
- 5:32Speaker 1: security costs, cost a, find safe accommodation, and all other expenses.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Maxwell has reasonably incurred and will incur by reason of
- 5:41Speaker 1: her prior employment relationship with Jeffrey E. Epstein, As if
- 5:46Speaker 1: she was just an employee, a hired gun folks, somebody
- 5:50Speaker 1: that he brought in on a temporary basis that he
- 5:53Speaker 1: got from we work. Give me a break with the bullshit.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell had a verbal agreement that he would
- 5:59Speaker 1: prove aviied for her in this capacity, she claimed in
- 6:02Speaker 1: her initial filing. Maxwell receives regular threats to her life
- 6:07Speaker 1: and safety which have required her to hire personal security
- 6:11Speaker 1: services and find safe accommodations. And this is why she
- 6:15Speaker 1: said she needed to move thirty six times. Remember when
- 6:18Speaker 1: she was on the lamb, how she moved thirty six times.
- 6:21Speaker 1: This is why she said she had to keep going
- 6:23Speaker 1: because she was being chased by the media. She was
- 6:26Speaker 1: being hounded by people who were threatening her. Meanwhile, nobody
- 6:29Speaker 1: could even find her, not even the court. The lawsuit
- 6:32Speaker 1: claims that Maxwell worked for Epstein for a number of
- 6:35Speaker 1: his companies as a property manager until two thousand and one,
- 6:39Speaker 1: at which point she scaled back her role until two
- 6:42Speaker 1: thousand and four when she started her own business. Yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 1: the business of bringing girls to Jeffrey Epstein, the business
- 6:50Speaker 1: of enriching herself on the back of all kinds of
- 6:52Speaker 1: criminal behavior, the business of being a bipedal serpent, her
- 6:57Speaker 1: own business. What do you mean, Tamar, the business that
- 7:00Speaker 1: the Clintons were involved in. Yeah, you know the Clintons
- 7:03Speaker 1: who invited her to their daughter's wedding. Oh let's not
- 7:07Speaker 1: talk about that though, right God forbid the Clintons get
- 7:10Speaker 1: called out for their bullshit. When she did leave, Maxwell
- 7:13Speaker 1: claims that Epstein promised to provide for her moving forward,
- 7:17Speaker 1: and alleges that he did in fact did so when
- 7:19Speaker 1: she was later sued by two of his victims, Sarah
- 7:22Speaker 1: Ransom and Virginia Roberts. So basically, what Galenne Maxwell's telling
- 7:27Speaker 1: us is that Jeffrey Epstein paid her hush money by
- 7:30Speaker 1: paying for lawyers and paying for her legal fees. That's
- 7:33Speaker 1: all that is. That's legal hush money, folks. In approximately
- 7:38Speaker 1: two thousand and four, Maxwell received a typewritten letter from
- 7:41Speaker 1: Epstein with a handwritten note asking Maxwell to remain in
- 7:45Speaker 1: Epstein's employ and promising that no matter what Maxwell chose
- 7:49Speaker 1: to do, Epstein would always support Maxwell financially, the lawsuit claims.
- 7:54Speaker 1: In the filing, Maxwell said that the lawsuits against her
- 7:58Speaker 1: began to pile up after Ebstein agreed to his now
- 8:01Speaker 1: infamous sweetheart plea deal in two thousand and eight, a
- 8:05Speaker 1: non prosecution agreement that protected Epstein from ever facing federal
- 8:09Speaker 1: charges in exchange for a guilty plea to stay charges
- 8:13Speaker 1: of soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution. This federally
- 8:18Speaker 1: broker deal allowed Epstein to serve just thirteen months of
- 8:21Speaker 1: an eighteen month sentence, but also required that he settled
- 8:25Speaker 1: any civil suits filed against him by the approximately forty
- 8:29Speaker 1: underage victims who spoke with police. Maxwell has incurred and
- 8:34Speaker 1: will continue to incur, significant legal fees, personal security costs,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and other costs in connection with legal suits, proceedings, and
- 8:43Speaker 1: investigations relating to Epstein, his affiliated businesses, and his alleged victims.
- 8:48Speaker 1: The lawsuit says, well, here's an idea. Don't work for
- 8:52Speaker 1: a guy like Epstein, don't get in business with them,
- 8:54Speaker 1: and don't molest little girls with them. Then you won't
- 8:57Speaker 1: have to worry about going broke. Pretty simple, right. Maxwell's
- 9:01Speaker 1: legal bills rose astronomically in the years after she filed
- 9:05Speaker 1: her lawsuit, to enlarge part to her indictment and eventual
- 9:09Speaker 1: conviction on multiple federal felony charges, including sex trafficking of
- 9:13Speaker 1: a miner, transporting a miner with the intent to engage
- 9:17Speaker 1: in criminal sexual activity, and conspiracy to transport miners with
- 9:21Speaker 1: intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. All of this
- 9:25Speaker 1: stuff is reco predicate, by the way, including the Man Act.
- 9:29Speaker 1: But none of that stuff was used here. But that's
- 9:31Speaker 1: okay because we had a SECO case down in the
- 9:34Speaker 1: US Virgin Islands and that worked out so well for
- 9:37Speaker 1: everybody involved. You know, the survivors really benefited from all
- 9:41Speaker 1: those proceedings that happened down there in the United States
- 9:44Speaker 1: Virgin Islands, right, everybody got rich from it, well, everybody
- 9:48Speaker 1: but the survivors. Her subsequent sentencing did, however, lower her
- 9:54Speaker 1: alleged security costs, as she is now under constant surveillance
- 9:57Speaker 1: as a member of the prison population at FCI Tallahassee,
- 10:02Speaker 1: where she will not be eligible for parole until twenty
- 10:05Speaker 1: thirty seven. Lawyers for Epstein's estate did not respond to
- 10:09Speaker 1: a request for comment, and that's been pretty common, a
- 10:13Speaker 1: wall of silence coming from Epstein's estate and not answering
- 10:16Speaker 1: any questions from the media. And why would they. They
- 10:20Speaker 1: have nothing to gain by talking to the media, so
- 10:22Speaker 1: why do it? And as far as Glenn Maxwell getting
- 10:25Speaker 1: her legal bills paid. Here With as much of a
- 10:27Speaker 1: shit show as this whole entire operation is, I wouldn't
- 10:30Speaker 1: be shocked to see them open the checkbook and just
- 10:32Speaker 1: give her some money. At this point, everybody else is
- 10:35Speaker 1: getting money, Why not Glane Maxwell too? All right, folks,
- 10:38Speaker 1: that's gonna do it for this one. If you'd like
