Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, everybody, and welcome out to another episode of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: Ruffling the Feathers podcast, where everything is on the table
- 0:09Speaker 1: after six weeks of football. And when I say everything
- 0:13Speaker 1: is on the table, that also includes predicting games, because
- 0:18Speaker 1: I think it's safe to say for everybody out there
- 0:20Speaker 1: in podcast land or prediction land, we all sucked last week.
- 0:25Speaker 1: when it came to the games. But we're going to
- 0:28Speaker 1: talk about that all in today's episode. I'm Talent Master
- 0:32Speaker 1: Jay and I am joined once again by my podcast
- 0:34Speaker 1: co-hosts in Supernova and Brandon. Gentlemen, how is it today?
- 0:39Speaker 1: And more importantly, how's the weather?
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's lovely here in the Carolinas. Fall has finally started
- 0:47Speaker 2: to arrive and it feels magnificent.
- 0:52Speaker 1: What is this fall word you're talking about, Brandon? Explain
- 0:56Speaker 1: it to me, please.
- 0:58Speaker 2: It's where it starts to get colder and the leaves
- 0:59Speaker 2: start changing and the hurricanes aren't as prevalent here.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Well, I mean, yeah. I mean, they just stay down
- 1:07Speaker 1: in Miami and beat FSU in double overtime.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Terrible.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, I
- 1:17Speaker 1: got it. We're already a minute in, and I already
- 1:19Speaker 1: have a feeling I know what Brandon wanted me to do, Nova.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Move this man!
- 1:27Speaker 2: I'm telling you, that button's going to get us mileage.
- 1:31Speaker 1: But Nova, how's the weather out there for you, Brandon? Terrible.
- 1:34Speaker 3: We have another heat wave coming in, and then a
- 1:36Speaker 3: thunderstorm tomorrow at the time of recording.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Well, that's not good.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Anyway, quack, quack. I'm on my ducks gear today for
- 1:45Speaker 3: Talon and Brandon to see.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, there's something about ducks right now. What is it?
- 1:55Speaker 1: NHL season's starting up, ain't it?
- 1:57Speaker 3: It's already been starting. And, well, the interesting thing is
- 2:01Speaker 3: the LA Kings have yet to win a game this season.
- 2:03Speaker 1: The LA Kings have yet to win a game this season.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Every other team has won a game already.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And Brennan, how are the Hurricanes doing? I mean, I
- 2:17Speaker 1: know we talked about the ones in Miami, but what
- 2:19Speaker 1: about the ones up in Carolina?
- 2:20Speaker 2: I actually have no idea. That's actually not something I
- 2:23Speaker 2: keep track of.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I didn't think that because they're the defending Stanley Cup champions.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:31Speaker 2: See, I'm not really a huge hockey fan. I'll pay
- 2:34Speaker 2: attention to the Bruins every now and then.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Oh, thanks for letting me know. We choked away a
- 2:39Speaker 3: 2-0 lead to the Bruins.
- 2:40Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 2:42Speaker 2: But according to ESPN, the Carolina Hurricanes are 7-2-1.
- 2:47Speaker 3: By the way, that is not ties. We count overtime
- 2:49Speaker 3: losses as a separate set.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And honestly, I do like that for hockey, that you
- 2:57Speaker 1: at least get something if you lose in overtime, but... Again,
- 3:02Speaker 1: that's hockey. We talk about NFL. But before we get
- 3:06Speaker 1: into the NFL, there's one other sport we kind of
- 3:08Speaker 1: have to talk about, gentlemen, and that's baseball because we
- 3:12Speaker 1: have an incredible World Series matchup coming out. The Milwaukee
- 3:17Speaker 1: Brewers versus the Tampa Bay Rays. I'll let you guys
- 3:22Speaker 1: give your guys' predictions on the series real quick, and
- 3:25Speaker 1: then I'm going to say what I have to say
- 3:26Speaker 1: about that.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I told you the Dodgers weren't going to three-peat. I
- 3:30Speaker 2: made that one pretty loud and clear.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, if you look back in the archives,
- 3:36Speaker 1: Brandon did say the Dodgers were not going to repeat.
- 3:40Speaker 3: No, they did. They didn't repeat specifically.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I told you they weren't even making the World Series
- 3:45Speaker 2: this year, too. There was no shot.
- 3:48Speaker 3: This actually brings up a discussion for me, and I'm
- 3:51Speaker 3: not sure how you guys think about it, because repeating,
- 3:54Speaker 3: I know, is a joke to some people, but it's
- 3:57Speaker 3: incredibly difficult to do, and In the major American sports,
- 4:03Speaker 3: there has been a lack of a three-peat for a
- 4:06Speaker 3: long time. And for the NFL specifically, we didn't have
- 4:08Speaker 3: a back-to-back champion until the Chiefs. And I actually want
- 4:12Speaker 3: to bring up an interesting stat, because since the Los
- 4:14Speaker 3: Angeles Lakers three-peated in 2002 during the Kobe Shaq era,
- 4:18Speaker 3: nine teams were close to three-peating, and none of them three-peated.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Nine of them. And I actually made a list. So
- 4:28Speaker 3: let me go ahead and view it real quick. If
- 4:31Speaker 3: I could search this up because I did put it here. Okay,
- 4:34Speaker 3: so in order. And Brandon's going to know this first
- 4:36Speaker 3: one immediately because the Patriots didn't repeat after winning 38
- 4:39Speaker 3: and 39. This is the first example.
- 4:49Speaker 2: We're starting off strong, Nova.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's fine.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Then came the Lakers again in 2010 when they got
- 4:57Speaker 3: eliminated by the Thunder when they tried to three-peat in
- 4:59Speaker 3: the Western Conference semis. Then the Miami Heat in 2014
- 5:03Speaker 3: when they made it to the finals for the three-peat
- 5:05Speaker 3: but lost to the Spurs. The Pittsburgh Penguins in hockey...
- 5:09Speaker 3: Got eliminated by the Washington Capitals in 2018 during the
- 5:13Speaker 3: Eastern Conference Semi. Then the Golden State Warriors made it
- 5:16Speaker 3: to the NBA Finals 2019. Couldn't repeat to the Toronto Raptors.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Then Tampa Bay Lightning against the Colorado Avalanche in the
- 5:24Speaker 3: Stanley Cup Final. Then the Chiefs. And then before the Dodgers,
- 5:29Speaker 3: it was actually the Florida Panthers who couldn't repeat. And
- 5:32Speaker 3: now this latest entry with the Los Angeles Dodgers. What
- 5:38Speaker 3: do we think?
- 5:39Speaker 1: Well, I mean, again, it is difficult to get a three-peat.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I will say that. And again, I was just wondering
- 5:47Speaker 1: what Brandon's reaction was going to be to that first one.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Very candidly, Brandon, I was very curious to see what
- 5:52Speaker 1: your first one was.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Going to be. So are we technically including the late 50s,
- 6:01Speaker 2: early 60s Celtics in this? Because that was an eight-peat.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I mean, I was only making that list because since 2002.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Man, it's fine.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I didn't say historically. I said since 2002, there's not
- 6:16Speaker 3: been a three-peat in major American sports.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. No, no. There hasn't. The Lakers were the
- 6:21Speaker 2: last ones for that from 2000 to 2002.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And that was a hell of a Lakers team with
- 6:27Speaker 1: Shaq and Kobe and Phil Jackson at the helm. At
- 6:31Speaker 1: least from my vantage point, because, again, I'm in Florida. So, Nova,
- 6:34Speaker 1: you just mentioned two of the teams on that list.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Three of them, actually. Three of them.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Three of them.
- 6:40Speaker 3: The Miami Heat, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Florida Panthers.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I forgot that you said the Miami Heat. That just
- 6:46Speaker 1: shows how much I know about basketball, really. But in
- 6:49Speaker 1: all fairness, that will segue into our first topic today
- 6:53Speaker 1: outside of this with the Miami Heat. But, yeah, no,
- 6:57Speaker 1: the Panthers, I remember that. Although, yeah, no, they did
- 7:02Speaker 1: win back-to-back cups. They were doing both against Edmonton. Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 1: I think they made it to three consecutive, but they
- 7:11Speaker 1: lost to the Knights, I believe.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Oh, no, that last season, the Florida Panthers didn't even
- 7:16Speaker 3: make the postseason.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I thought they made it against the Knights first, then
- 7:22Speaker 1: they beat the Oilers two times.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Oh, there we go. They've been to three straight finals. Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 3: there we go. If you're referring to that, then yes,
- 7:30Speaker 3: that is correct.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and then the Lightning, I mean, technically that first
- 7:34Speaker 1: one with the Lightning, you can make You could make
- 7:36Speaker 1: the argument that it was kind of... Actually, no. Was
- 7:43Speaker 1: the first Lightning Cup or the second one? Was that
- 7:45Speaker 1: the one where they were all cooped up in Montreal
- 7:47Speaker 1: and they basically played the Canadians?
- 7:50Speaker 3: That was the first one. The second one, it was
- 7:53Speaker 3: a weird four-division group that the Lightning ended up winning
- 7:58Speaker 3: at their own Amelie Arena.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah. And then the one against the Avalanche, that one
- 8:07Speaker 1: was definitely bad.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Back to normal.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah. But if you guys had to make a prediction
- 8:12Speaker 1: for the World Series right now, who are you taking
- 8:16Speaker 1: and in how many games?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Milwaukee in five. Five and six? Okay. Okay.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Well, Nova, you're you. Well, no, I'm not. I'm not
- 8:26Speaker 1: going to do it. I'm not going to do it.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I'm I'm the middle one age group of us. I'm
- 8:30Speaker 1: not doing that stupid hand gesture because Nova said six.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I'm not doing that.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Well, you're going to say you're raising seven. No, I
- 8:39Speaker 3: was going to say Milwaukee in seven. OK, you don't
- 8:43Speaker 3: have faith in your own hometown. That's crazy.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Honestly, when it comes to the Rays, credit to them
- 8:49Speaker 1: for what they have done in the American League. The
- 8:52Speaker 1: way that they played last night was incredible. Brian Baker
- 8:56Speaker 1: coming in, getting that save was amazing. Junior Caminero hitting
- 8:59Speaker 1: a home run off the foul pole was impressive. And
- 9:03Speaker 1: the same foul pole that Evan Longoria famously hit his
- 9:07Speaker 1: walk-off home run in game 162. what was that, 2011
- 9:14Speaker 1: or 2012? One of those two years when it was
- 9:15Speaker 1: like a miraculous. Actually, no, wait. I think that was
- 9:19Speaker 1: the year they played the Yankees, and it was like
- 9:22Speaker 1: the Yankees, the Rays, and the Red Sox were all
- 9:25Speaker 1: like on the same record entering game 162. The Red
- 9:30Speaker 1: Sox lost to the Orioles, if I remember correctly, and
- 9:34Speaker 1: that allowed whoever won the Yankees-Rays game of that game
- 9:38Speaker 1: to win it. And then Longoria won it in the 12th.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Inning.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I think I'm doing my math correctly. Again, it's like
- 9:48Speaker 1: 15 years ago. I'm drawing a blank.
- 9:51Speaker 3: And courtesy of David Ortiz, the Yankees lose.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The Yankees lose. And they keep Aaron Boone as a bonus.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Thank you, Yuri and Amy Tree for that YouTube video
- 10:05Speaker 3: about congratulations, Yankees.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Honestly, though. But I'm picking the Brewers. But the one
- 10:12Speaker 1: thing that I love the most about this series, guys,
- 10:14Speaker 1: we are guaranteed a first-time world champion. I hope the
- 10:19Speaker 1: MLB on Fox, both Joe Davis, John Smoltz, I hope
- 10:25Speaker 1: whoever is their side. I think it's what?
- 10:27Speaker 3: Ken Rosenthal.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Ken Rosenthal. I hope he brings up. And I hope
- 10:31Speaker 1: that damn pregame show with Ortiz, with Big Pop. I
- 10:36Speaker 1: said Ortiz and I said Big Pop. My God. Can
- 10:40Speaker 1: you tell Brandon that I'm a little tired?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I'm right there with.
- 10:47Speaker 1: You.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Expect a few errors, guys. It's just normal.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Expect a few errors. But no, like, I hope that
- 10:54Speaker 1: every one of those guys at least hammers at home.
- 10:56Speaker 1: We are guaranteed a first-time world champion.
- 11:01Speaker 3: That's already a failure because some of the media is
- 11:03Speaker 3: already starting to talk about the Dodgers again. Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I mean... the funny thing though, is I'm just not
- 11:09Speaker 1: thinking if the rays win the series though, guys, um,
- 11:13Speaker 1: this will be the second time a Tampa Bay team
- 11:16Speaker 1: has won a world championship and then proceeds to go
- 11:20Speaker 1: into a lockout. Well, the first lightning cup, uh, was
- 11:27Speaker 1: 2004 when they beat the Calgary flames in seven games.
- 11:31Speaker 1: That was when the lightning had like this big fricking
- 11:34Speaker 1: super team piled up. Um, And then they lost, I think, what,
- 11:39Speaker 1: like 40 games in 2005 because of that strike?
- 11:43Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, it was a lot.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Wait, no, didn't that strike lead to the Hurricanes' first cup?
- 11:50Speaker 1: I think so. Oh, no, the 2004 season was 2004-05
- 11:53Speaker 1: completely canceled.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Okay, so then after that was the Hurricanes, okay.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Yeah, then it was the Hurricanes. Okay, so now that
- 12:05Speaker 1: we've gotten the fun other sports out of the way,
- 12:09Speaker 1: and also people can come at us if the Rays
- 12:12Speaker 1: end up winning the World Series, let's talk about the
- 12:16Speaker 1: big topic of the week, or maybe the last two weeks,
- 12:22Speaker 1: and that is Jalen Hurts. He flew to London. So
- 12:30Speaker 1: let's recap the situation. And then, Brandon, I know you
- 12:33Speaker 1: have thoughts to say about this. Oh, for sure. Let
- 12:37Speaker 1: me paint the picture. Jalen Hurts gets cleated against the
- 12:42Speaker 1: Los Angeles Rams in the game where they lose 24-20.
- 12:47Speaker 1: He then goes Monday. He goes Tuesday. He practices Wednesday.
- 12:53Speaker 1: On Thursday of the week that they go to London,
- 12:57Speaker 1: he first decides to tell the doctors. Mind you, this
- 13:00Speaker 1: is three days after the cleaning, allegedly. He tells the doctors,
- 13:05Speaker 1: I'd like treatment on my calf. They give him treatment
- 13:09Speaker 1: on the calf. He practices fully on that Friday, and
- 13:13Speaker 1: he's added to the injury report with a calf injury.
- 13:17Speaker 1: They fly to London. On that Saturday, or maybe late Friday,
- 13:23Speaker 1: early Saturday, I don't remember what time the flight was.
- 13:27Speaker 1: They land in London. They go and they get an
- 13:31Speaker 1: ultrasound in London, which reveals a superficial blood clot, or
- 13:40Speaker 1: as the later statement comes out, a superficial vein thrombosis,
- 13:45Speaker 1: which is the medical term. They keep him in the hospital,
- 13:50Speaker 1: according to reports, until 4 a.m., doing tests and hardly
- 13:56Speaker 1: getting sleep. He goes to the game at the stadium.
- 14:01Speaker 1: He has a private room where he takes a nap. Apparently,
- 14:04Speaker 1: he got maybe like five hours, according to the reports.
- 14:09Speaker 1: He plays that game. He's always on the exercise bike
- 14:12Speaker 1: when they're on the sideline. So, naturally, I think most
- 14:16Speaker 1: of us, if we were thinking calf injury, he's probably
- 14:18Speaker 1: just on the exercise bike stretching out the leg. Then
- 14:22Speaker 1: he flies back from London with the team to Philadelphia.
- 14:26Speaker 1: They practice. They do the treatment. And then Wednesday hits,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and it reveals the superficial vein thrombosis has– turned itself
- 14:41Speaker 1: into a deep vein thrombosis as well as a bilateral
- 14:47Speaker 1: pulmonary emboli, which for anybody who is curious about those words,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm not a medical professional, but I can tell you
- 14:56Speaker 1: what that means. That means he's got blood clots in
- 14:59Speaker 1: his fucking lungs. And so they sent him out of
- 15:05Speaker 1: the game against Carolina and they're monitoring him. Saturday hits,
- 15:11Speaker 1: and they're not talking about the possibility of injured reserve
- 15:14Speaker 1: for Jalen Hurts. But then 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon hits,
- 15:19Speaker 1: and he's on injured reserve. Because of the pulmonary emboli.
- 15:24Speaker 1: He's got to be put on blood thinners. I don't
- 15:27Speaker 1: know what it's going to be. It might be warfarin.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It might be Coumadin. I really don't know those things.
- 15:33Speaker 1: All I know is that my grandparents and my parents
- 15:36Speaker 1: have had blood thinners for years. And I can attest
- 15:40Speaker 1: for it. When you are on blood thinners, the slightest nick,
- 15:45Speaker 1: you are gushing. Like, it is very difficult to stop
- 15:49Speaker 1: you from bleeding or bleeding out. So it is very scary.
- 15:54Speaker 1: But now the reports are coming out that the Eagles
- 15:59Speaker 1: will not be punished for the handling of Jalen Hurts'
- 16:03Speaker 1: blood clots. Because according to all the reports, and this
- 16:08Speaker 1: is by Jonathan Jones of The Athletic, that the Eagles
- 16:14Speaker 1: were handling it appropriately. Brandon, I think I've set the table.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Please have at it.
- 16:27Speaker 2: You cannot tell me that after all of this testing,
- 16:32Speaker 2: after all of these things with Jalen Hurts, after finding
- 16:36Speaker 2: out that he has this superficial blood clot turned deep
- 16:39Speaker 2: vein thrombosis, that... They handled it correctly. You cannot tell
- 16:46Speaker 2: me that. First of all, the man was awake for
- 16:48Speaker 2: over 36 hours before getting a nap time in prior
- 16:51Speaker 2: to the London game. Like, that man should have never
- 16:55Speaker 2: played that game. Ever. At all. It should have been
- 16:59Speaker 2: a last minute rule out. And then, honestly, knowing that
- 17:02Speaker 2: all of this is kind of light, I honestly do
- 17:04Speaker 2: feel bad for kind of shitting on the man. Because
- 17:07Speaker 2: of how that second half performed against the Rams and
- 17:11Speaker 2: then how he performed against Jacksonville. He has been playing
- 17:17Speaker 2: knowing that he has this blood clot that has traveled
- 17:21Speaker 2: from his leg to his lungs from getting cleated. And
- 17:29Speaker 2: I've kind of felt bad because, granted, I have said
- 17:32Speaker 2: that he was very subpar whenever he was playing for Alabama.
- 17:37Speaker 2: But this takes it to a whole different level because
- 17:40Speaker 2: this is a different mental game that he has had
- 17:43Speaker 2: to play. And it's not been a very fun one
- 17:45Speaker 2: for him. He should have never have been playing. He
- 17:49Speaker 2: should have been sat from the moment that this blood
- 17:51Speaker 2: clot was discovered until it was cleared. And if the
- 17:54Speaker 2: Eagles were going to lose games, they were going to
- 17:56Speaker 2: lose games. But instead, they decided to jeopardize the physical
- 18:01Speaker 2: well-being of one of their players, much less his mental.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Imagine being out there getting crushed on the football field
- 18:06Speaker 2: and you've got a blood clot that can go up
- 18:08Speaker 2: into your lungs at any time prior to them. No
- 18:12Speaker 2: wonder the man played poorly. my mind wouldn't have been
- 18:14Speaker 2: in the right place either, but honestly, what's that?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Oh, no, I was going to say, and who was
- 18:20Speaker 1: also to say that during the game, remember they said
- 18:23Speaker 1: that the blood clot moved, I guess within the 72
- 18:27Speaker 1: hours from when it was first discovered. Who's to say
- 18:30Speaker 1: that one of, what do you take like two or
- 18:32Speaker 1: three sacks in the game against Jacksonville?
- 18:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Something like that.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Who's to say that one of those sacks didn't start
- 18:40Speaker 1: the movement. Exactly.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Because, like, and obviously, you know, we'll never know that.
- 18:47Speaker 2: But there's no reason that that should have even happened. Because, no,
- 18:52Speaker 2: he got sacked once against Jacksonville for 10 yards. But
- 18:56Speaker 2: he still put up 220 yards on a game wherever
- 18:59Speaker 2: he had, like.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Actually, what was the QBR? No, no, no.
- 19:01Speaker 2: QB pressure. 38.6. Oh, QB pressure. Let's see.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Because that would also impact those numbers as well. Because, like,
- 19:09Speaker 3: if you had to hurry up and maybe avoid hits or.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I mean, there was one player on Jacksonville who had
- 19:15Speaker 2: 10 total tackles.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Jalen Hurst only had like two rushes that game, I remember.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Jalen Hurst had two rushes for two yards.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Okay, so he had, he's been tackled three times on
- 19:28Speaker 3: the statistics, so how much, what was his QB pressure?
- 19:31Speaker 2: Let's see, I'm over here looking at it now.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Because there also could be moments where he froze the
- 19:37Speaker 3: ball and then he gets hit directly after.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Or Like it's like even numbers aside, like honestly, the,
- 19:47Speaker 2: man shouldn't have seen the football field like QB pressures
- 19:51Speaker 2: or not he shouldn't have he shouldn't have seen the
- 19:54Speaker 2: field and like I said I do feel bad you
- 19:57Speaker 2: know and I apologize for shitting on him knowing this
- 19:59Speaker 2: information now but I guess props to him for being
- 20:03Speaker 2: forced to play through it wanting to play through it but.
- 20:06Speaker 3: No that really just says a lot about the Philadelphia staff.
- 20:10Speaker 2: It does say a lot about the Philadelphia staff. And honestly,
- 20:12Speaker 2: you know, if it goes south, Jalen Hurst may never
- 20:14Speaker 2: play another snap of football.
- 20:16Speaker 3: And you know what this reminds me of? It reminds
- 20:18Speaker 3: me when Chris Bosh had that blood clot problem back
- 20:21Speaker 3: when he was at Miami Heat.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I remember that, yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Uh-huh. I mean, and not only that, we just had
- 20:26Speaker 1: it with Wemby. Last year, Wemby lost the last three
- 20:30Speaker 1: months of the regular season because he had a blood
- 20:32Speaker 1: clot in his shoulder.
- 20:34Speaker 2: And then.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts isn't even the most recent NFL player to
- 20:37Speaker 1: have blood clots. You guys remember Christian Barmore?
- 20:40Speaker 2: Oh, can't forget about Barmore. Yeah.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I mean, he's still playing though, isn't he?
- 20:45Speaker 2: I don't know about that. Actually.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I think I said it to my brother. Like I
- 20:55Speaker 1: thought he was still on your guys's roster.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I think he must've been a roster, but I don't
- 21:01Speaker 2: think he played against, um, the Jets this past weekend.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Like, again, this is, like, ridiculous that, you know, Jalen,
- 21:11Speaker 3: when playing through it, and actually, I was explaining a
- 21:14Speaker 3: lot of it. Okay.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you're good.
- 21:17Speaker 3: There you go. There's the answer. But anyway, what this
- 21:21Speaker 3: reminds me, it does remind me of Chris Bosh's situation, because, like, remember,
- 21:26Speaker 3: I mentioned the Miami Heat nearly three-peating, and Bosh was
- 21:29Speaker 3: in that roster when they tried to get the three-peat.
- 21:32Speaker 3: They made the finals every year during that big three era.
- 21:36Speaker 3: And it's astounding that this is the lengths that the
- 21:41Speaker 3: Eagles are willing to go to try to end their
- 21:42Speaker 3: losing streak because they care that much about winning.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely something that I have heard about. Now, again, I'm... Brandon, again,
- 21:58Speaker 1: you may disagree with me on this. The only thing
- 22:01Speaker 1: that I'm very curious about is, again, if... And, again,
- 22:07Speaker 1: I'm not trying to.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I might be playing a little devil's advocate here. But
- 22:15Speaker 1: in the event that Hurts got... Like I said, Hurts
- 22:18Speaker 1: got cleated on that Sunday before the Thursday. So... where
- 22:26Speaker 1: did the communication falter between him, the team, and the
- 22:31Speaker 1: medical staff that he didn't tell anybody for 72 hours
- 22:37Speaker 1: that he wanted treatment on his calf? That's the only
- 22:40Speaker 1: thing that really gets me.
- 22:42Speaker 2: See, and I don't think that that's a question we're
- 22:44Speaker 2: going to ever know the actual accurate answer to. Because
- 22:48Speaker 2: if he did tell somebody within those 72 hours, then
- 22:51Speaker 2: Philadelphia becomes even more incriminated in this than they ever
- 22:56Speaker 2: could imagine to be.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, again, like it says here, he returned to
- 23:03Speaker 1: the team hotel around 2.45 a.m. local time. For context,
- 23:10Speaker 1: Brandon and I at 2.45 a.m., that'd be what? 9.45
- 23:11Speaker 1: or 9.45 p.m.? Like, yeah, about 9.45 p.m., For us,
- 23:20Speaker 1: we're probably getting set for sleep around this time, if
- 23:24Speaker 1: not already asleep.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Right, Brandon?
- 23:26Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely. I am a grandpa with these hours.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But yeah, so you took the bus to the stadium,
- 23:36Speaker 1: took a nap before playing all 62 offensive snaps.
- 23:42Speaker 3: So.
- 23:43Speaker 1: evidently the NFL has determined the Eagles did not violate
- 23:46Speaker 1: the league's injury report policy. They placed him on the
- 23:49Speaker 1: injury report, but he was not issued an injury designation
- 23:52Speaker 1: then or after the blood clot was found per the source,
- 23:56Speaker 1: because the team determined Hertz would play as normal number
- 23:58Speaker 1: of snaps as the starter. A change to the report
- 24:02Speaker 1: was not necessary. The team was in communication with the
- 24:05Speaker 1: league on the injury report ahead of the game.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Uh, she had contradictions to that because like, uh, Are
- 24:15Speaker 3: you guys aware about the Obama medal meme to himself?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:21Speaker 3: That's what the NFL is doing right now. They're doing
- 24:24Speaker 3: the whole medal to themselves.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Yeah. At the end of the day, this is a
- 24:33Speaker 2: very bad look for Philadelphia. It's also a very bad
- 24:36Speaker 2: look for the NFL for saying that this was okay
- 24:38Speaker 2: because it definitely was not.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, I will also point this out via Mike
- 24:46Speaker 1: Garofalo and a bunch of reporters out there. I just
- 24:50Speaker 1: pulled up Garofalo's post because I don't know if you
- 24:54Speaker 1: saw this, Brandon, but the NFLPA– They are calling for
- 24:59Speaker 1: a full investigation, stating, quote, the NFLPA is not aware
- 25:03Speaker 1: of any NFL investigation into the medical care provided to
- 25:07Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts. In fact, the league previously informed the union
- 25:11Speaker 1: that it did not plan to review the care he received.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Before conclusions are drawn about how the situation was handled,
- 25:18Speaker 1: there must be a full investigation into what occurred. Determining
- 25:22Speaker 1: the facts is essential to ensuring players receive the highest
- 25:25Speaker 1: level of care and protection going forward.
- 25:30Speaker 3: That definitely is turning into a he-said-she-said moment. It's not good.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Brandon, what do you have to say about that?
- 25:41Speaker 2: I mean, NFLPA is... They're going to get to the
- 25:45Speaker 2: bottom of it, and they always do. Anytime there's a
- 25:47Speaker 2: big discrepancy or a situation like this, I can't think
- 25:52Speaker 2: of a term. My brain is tired. Fiasco, I guess,
- 25:55Speaker 2: for lack of a better term. Then the truth always
- 25:59Speaker 2: comes out eventually with findings and whatnot. Either way, at
- 26:02Speaker 2: the end of the day, if they did do wrong,
- 26:05Speaker 2: then Jalen Hurts is already sitting pretty financially, but he'll
- 26:10Speaker 2: probably be even more so after this.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Yeah, because he had that big contract extension after they
- 26:15Speaker 3: won the Super Bowl.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Yep.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Now, two final things I want to ask you guys about.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Number one, do you guys think that... And the reason
- 26:27Speaker 1: I'm bringing this up is because I listened to Emmanuel
- 26:31Speaker 1: Acho say this.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I listened to Sean Coy say this. I listened to
- 26:35Speaker 1: Shannon Sharp say this. And I listened to Rob Parker
- 26:39Speaker 1: say this. Do you think... that Jalen Hurts should never
- 26:45Speaker 1: put on a Philadelphia Eagles uniform ever again because of this.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Absolutely not. He should never suit up for the Eagles
- 26:52Speaker 2: whatsoever again for the rest of his life.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Okay, Brandon is in agreement with all of the NFL legends. Nova,
- 26:59Speaker 1: what are you saying?
- 27:00Speaker 3: See, how do you expect me to answer this when
- 27:02Speaker 3: none of us are taking a snap on the NFL field?
- 27:04Speaker 3: How do you expect me to answer that?
- 27:06Speaker 2: It's based more on principle than it is anything else.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's more like, you as a independent like just
- 27:16Speaker 1: your independent thinking.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Because if you want to ask me then i would
- 27:22Speaker 3: say let the investigation come out first because like i
- 27:24Speaker 3: want to state what's been going on on my side
- 27:26Speaker 3: and i want to show that they're the ones guilty
- 27:28Speaker 3: so you want my answer i want my answer to
- 27:30Speaker 3: be no i won't play for them because i want
- 27:32Speaker 3: the truth to be exposed first before anything.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Else That is definitely fair. I'm still on the side
- 27:40Speaker 1: of like you err on the side of caution, but
- 27:44Speaker 1: if there is, if this investigation reveals that there was
- 27:48Speaker 1: a lack of communication or even better, if, They come
- 27:53Speaker 1: out and it says, yeah, Jalen went to us on
- 27:56Speaker 1: Monday and or Tuesday, and we didn't treat him until Thursday. Oh, yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 1: get him the fuck out of Philadelphia. He should never
- 28:04Speaker 1: set foot in that city again, if you ask me.
- 28:08Speaker 1: The second final thing, and then we'll move on to
- 28:11Speaker 1: the main topics of the podcast, the breakdowns and the
- 28:16Speaker 1: previews for next week. Do you guys have any comments
- 28:20Speaker 1: on Michael Robinson's.
- 28:25Speaker 3: I think I need context for this one. I don't
- 28:27Speaker 3: think I've seen it.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I'm really bad with names and faces. Is that the
- 28:33Speaker 2: analyst who decided he wanted to put out a really
- 28:35Speaker 2: bad take on the air? And he was like, now
- 28:37Speaker 2: I'm not a medical expert.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yes, that is Michael Robinson, former Super Bowl champion of
- 28:43Speaker 1: the Seattle Seahawks.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Fuck that guy. There's not a chat GPT apology in
- 28:50Speaker 2: the world that he could give that would make that
- 28:52Speaker 2: would ever convince me that he should keep his job. Yeah.
- 28:57Speaker 3: I actually can't answer the question. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you would need to see the clip on that
- 29:03Speaker 2: one for sure.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you would have to see the clip. And honestly,
- 29:08Speaker 1: Brandon and I, we can put it in our private
- 29:11Speaker 1: message so that way you can listen. Because it's still
- 29:14Speaker 1: out there. It's still out there, this clip. And his
- 29:17Speaker 1: apology was, or let me put it delicately. Brandon, I
- 29:20Speaker 1: think you can see the air quotes coming right where
- 29:24Speaker 1: I'm saying apology.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it wasn't an apology. It was not.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Not a good apology.
- 29:34Speaker 3: PR is important, ladies and gentlemen. It's always important.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Yes, yes it is, but I think I speak on
- 29:41Speaker 1: behalf of all of us when I say Jalen Hurts,
- 29:43Speaker 1: we are praying for you, young man. And again, I
- 29:48Speaker 1: don't want to sound casual. I'm praying for a 28-year-old
- 29:51Speaker 1: and I'm 30.
- 29:57Speaker 3: What is that one meme about, like, how are we doing,
- 29:59Speaker 3: young Bill? Or is it, like, it's not that one. Is, like,
- 30:02Speaker 3: the dude with the skateboard? I can't come up with
- 30:04Speaker 3: his name.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Yeah, Steve Buscemi, when he, like, hey, fellow young kids,
- 30:11Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 30:13Speaker 3: That's you right now.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's me right now. But we're going to turn
- 30:19Speaker 1: the page now, and if we get any other updates,
- 30:24Speaker 1: we will react to it in turn. But let's move
- 30:28Speaker 1: on to the main portion of the podcast. Guys, we're
- 30:33Speaker 1: going to start recapping week number six, and we're going
- 30:36Speaker 1: to start with the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos.
- 30:43Speaker 1: And yeah, this was the start of all of the
- 30:46Speaker 1: bad predictions this week, wasn't it?
- 30:49Speaker 2: This was a crazy week for predictions.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, Brandon, at one point, again, I don't
- 30:57Speaker 1: want to throw anybody under the bus here, but I
- 31:00Speaker 1: will say with the Pittsburgh game notwithstanding, like you, me,
- 31:06Speaker 1: and Nova, I think the most any of us had
- 31:08Speaker 1: were three games right.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Jesus. Really?
- 31:13Speaker 1: We were not good this week. I don't think anybody
- 31:17Speaker 1: in the world was good this week. And we'll get
- 31:20Speaker 1: to a couple of other games later that we all
- 31:24Speaker 1: most likely got wrong. But evidently, Bo Nix. Yeah, 107
- 31:33Speaker 1: passing yards.
- 31:35Speaker 2: So, I guess I'm going to say about that, man.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a really short, sweet, to
- 31:44Speaker 2: the point answer. And then I'm going to give you
- 31:47Speaker 2: the logic behind it afterwards. so my short sweet to
- 31:52Speaker 2: the point answer is Bo Nix really fucking sucks the
- 31:58Speaker 2: reason for this is because I actually saw I'll have
- 32:01Speaker 2: to find it again I think I shared it in
- 32:05Speaker 2: our chat where somebody made a regression model on Bo
- 32:10Speaker 2: Nix and all the QBs in the NFL trying to
- 32:13Speaker 2: figure out like how he was in comparison to everybody
- 32:18Speaker 2: else um he wasn't good someone made like he was
- 32:24Speaker 2: probably ranked like second to last in a current nfl
- 32:27Speaker 2: among all qbs not active qbs all qbs in terms
- 32:35Speaker 2: of like his overall general game performance another list showed
- 32:41Speaker 2: that there were i wanted i find it so don't
- 32:43Speaker 2: quote me on this exact number There is a list
- 32:46Speaker 2: of like 430 something NFL QBs that ranked the average
- 32:53Speaker 2: QB performance in terms of like yards per game versus
- 32:56Speaker 2: like the types of throws he was making versus how
- 32:59Speaker 2: many were actually completed. And he was dead last. Out
- 33:08Speaker 2: of a three, four hundred page list or three, four
- 33:11Speaker 2: hundred QB long list. of NFL QBs, Bo Nix was
- 33:16Speaker 2: ranked dead last in quarterback performance.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Yeah, four passing yards per play is not a good thing.
- 33:26Speaker 3: This Broncos team, they're becoming the opposite of what they
- 33:31Speaker 3: were last year. They're still winning games, but that's really
- 33:34Speaker 3: not the problem. The problem is how they're winning.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and if I remember correctly, I think I saw
- 33:40Speaker 1: that Sean Payton, he took the play calling away from
- 33:44Speaker 1: Davis Webb.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Actually, Brandon, I think I need to add on to this,
- 33:50Speaker 3: because I think I heard this ridiculous comparison that Bo
- 33:54Speaker 3: Nix is apparently the new age Kenny Pickett.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Kenny Pickett feels insulted by your comparison.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I mean, think about it. Quarterback that does God off
- 34:06Speaker 3: over the first three quarters, goes God mode fourth quarter,
- 34:08Speaker 3: And notice we've seen a regression in their third year.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Yeah, no, Bo Nix. Bo Nix is very, very bad.
- 34:16Speaker 2: The only bright spot of this entire game for anybody
- 34:20Speaker 2: was JSN.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Yeah, the Seahawks are not getting out of this one
- 34:26Speaker 3: either because their offense is really suffering. It's like everyone's
- 34:30Speaker 3: pointing the finger that they lost Clint Kupiak and now
- 34:31Speaker 3: suddenly their offense is bad. I mean, You look at there,
- 34:34Speaker 3: Sam Darnold, 27-51 for 278, two picks, which the two picks, honestly,
- 34:38Speaker 3: not good. Not good because Sam Darnold's going to turn
- 34:40Speaker 3: over prone again. However, I still think the Seattle team
- 34:45Speaker 3: is missing Zach Charbonnet. That rushing attack, I mean, granted
- 34:49Speaker 3: he had 113 yards, but it didn't feel meaningful.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Charbonnet should actually be back this week or stands a
- 34:56Speaker 2: chance to be back this week against the Chiefs, too.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I mean, the Seahawks are going to need him.
- 35:03Speaker 2: They need something.
- 35:05Speaker 1: They definitely need something. And I know you just said it, Brandon,
- 35:09Speaker 1: about like Bo Nix sucks and everything. What was your
- 35:12Speaker 1: thoughts on Ryan Fitzpatrick's nice rant?
- 35:17Speaker 2: I actually did not get to see Fitz's rant on this.
- 35:21Speaker 2: So I do not know.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I see a glimpse of it. And well, I can
- 35:26Speaker 3: tell you Broncos fans are upset by it.
- 35:27Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 35:29Speaker 3: It's fine.
- 35:30Speaker 2: It's okay to be wrong and suck somehow with a
- 35:32Speaker 2: 4-2 record. They're probably the worst 4-2 team in the league.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Let's be for real.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Are you not going to pull it up live? Should
- 35:44Speaker 3: we have Brandon listen? Oh, wait, no, I don't think
- 35:46Speaker 3: we can. I don't copy right.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Key points of Fitzpatrick's rant. He stated that Nix is, quote,
- 35:52Speaker 1: not playing competitively and called his performance, quote, almost disrespectful
- 35:58Speaker 1: to the quarterback position how he's playing football right now.
- 36:01Speaker 1: he pointed out that nix is reluctant to throw downfield
- 36:04Speaker 1: relies heavily on short passes and throws to the flats
- 36:07Speaker 1: and lacks trust from the coaching staff fitzpatrick argued that
- 36:12Speaker 1: nix lacks fire and passion on the field claiming the
- 36:15Speaker 1: effort is garbage and that players around the league watching
- 36:18Speaker 1: the game deserve better.
- 36:21Speaker 3: You can't say that when you've been like what is
- 36:23Speaker 3: it like eight or nine different franchises.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Well, let's be fair about this. Fitzpatrick also was not
- 36:31Speaker 2: afraid to throw the ball down the field either. Like, yes,
- 36:36Speaker 2: Fitzpatrick was never NFL starting QB material, but he definitely
- 36:42Speaker 2: had some games that were complete nail biters, which is
- 36:45Speaker 2: more than what we can say for Bo Nix. The
- 36:48Speaker 2: only reason that these games are even close is because
- 36:50Speaker 2: of that Denver defense.
- 36:54Speaker 3: I mean, at the very least, I'll close it out
- 36:56Speaker 3: by saying at least this wasn't a four-quarter comeback.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. But let's move on, guys. Let's start
- 37:05Speaker 1: with the Sunday slate. And Nova, you can lead us
- 37:09Speaker 1: with this one. The Houston Texans defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I am curious, though, gentlemen. Did either of you have
- 37:17Speaker 1: a nice cup of tea while you were watching this game?
- 37:21Speaker 3: No, I don't drink tea.
- 37:23Speaker 2: No, no, no, I did not.
- 37:26Speaker 3: I also feel good about this one because I picked
- 37:28Speaker 3: the Texans to win. I pretty much didn't think it
- 37:31Speaker 3: would be from their offense. I think the Texans to me.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 37:40Speaker 2: Who gave you?
- 37:43Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 37:44Speaker 3: That's what I said last week. Salty Patriots fan. Okay, whatever. Okay,
- 37:54Speaker 3: so CJ Straub, not a great game, but unfortunately had
- 37:56Speaker 3: that red zone pick. 34-3-12 with three touchdowns and a pick.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Jalen Noel with a breakout game with four-four receptions at
- 38:06Speaker 3: 107 yards. The rushing attack didn't feel that impactful until
- 38:10Speaker 3: Jamar Jordan rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Trevor Lawrence...
- 38:13Speaker 3: Both these offenses are showing up to play, and I
- 38:17Speaker 3: think this is still an indictment on the Texans' defense
- 38:19Speaker 3: just not being what they are, but.
- 38:23Speaker 3: I will say it is hilarious that Jacksonville is getting
- 38:27Speaker 3: all this right, but their penalties and it's just doing
- 38:30Speaker 3: them in. And then what was it? Oh, yeah. Travis
- 38:35Speaker 3: Hunter is falling out now. He had a reception touchdown
- 38:38Speaker 3: and a interception in the end zone against the Texans.
- 38:45Speaker 3: And yeah, I know I picked the Texas to win,
- 38:49Speaker 3: but I didn't think it'd be because of their offense.
- 38:54Speaker 2: That's perfectly valid. Also, I don't know what you're referring
- 38:56Speaker 2: to with the salty Patriots fan comment, because as we'll
- 39:00Speaker 2: discuss later, I'm pretty sure that all of our three
- 39:02Speaker 2: of our teams, my team was the only one that
- 39:04Speaker 2: won our game. So I.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Was the only thing that based off reaction, not based
- 39:11Speaker 3: on what happened.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, I will say this, though, because Brandon, Carolina boy,
- 39:21Speaker 1: I at least just say it. Trevor Lawrence did look
- 39:25Speaker 1: pretty impressive at times in this game. I mean, 306, 79.
- 39:30Speaker 1: a half per pass, four touchdowns, one interception. This is
- 39:36Speaker 1: the best part, though. Well, I don't know if you
- 39:39Speaker 1: called a good thing or a bad thing that both
- 39:42Speaker 1: quarterbacks were not sacked at all in this game.
- 39:46Speaker 3: That's a surprise for C.J. Stroud specifically.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. And honestly, if you think about it,
- 39:51Speaker 2: if you look down there at the receiving stat line
- 39:54Speaker 2: for Jacksonville, if you look at the targeting, you have
- 39:57Speaker 2: Jacoby Myers with five receptions on 10 targets. He got
- 40:00Speaker 2: 50% of his passes. Parker Washington, four receptions on 11 targets.
- 40:06Speaker 2: These guys catch a little bit more of the balls
- 40:08Speaker 2: that Jacksonville could have easily won this game.
- 40:11Speaker 1: And Travis Hunter, he caught a pass and was so good,
- 40:15Speaker 1: he didn't even need two shoes.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Really? He didn't have two shoes on?
- 40:21Speaker 1: Yeah, one of his catches, he juked a defender and
- 40:24Speaker 1: juked himself out of his shoe.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Oh, I found this on a breaching report. So Travis
- 40:30Speaker 3: Hunter is just the fourth player ever to record a
- 40:33Speaker 3: receiving touchdown and an interception in the same game. Man
- 40:38Speaker 3: wanted to.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Play both sides of the ball, and he got it.
- 40:41Speaker 1: I think they are starting to slowly get him in
- 40:46Speaker 1: that position where... he can play both sides of the ball,
- 40:51Speaker 1: but I feel like they're starting to get that sweet spot,
- 40:56Speaker 1: you know, where it's like, okay, we'll give you X
- 40:59Speaker 1: amount of snaps on offense, X amount of snaps on defense.
- 41:03Speaker 1: And then for the total plays, you're essentially getting what
- 41:07Speaker 1: you would get if you were only on one side
- 41:09Speaker 1: of the ball.
- 41:09Speaker 3: That fair.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:12Speaker 3: But you don't know what's also fair to talk about
- 41:14Speaker 3: Brian Thomas jr. Yeah, he might be traded by that line.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he's definitely the weak spot in their receiving core.
- 41:28Speaker 3: I mean, remember last year they traded for Jacoby Myers.
- 41:33Speaker 1: They did trade for Jacoby Myers. I mean, it is
- 41:36Speaker 1: it definitely will be something to monitor with with Brian
- 41:39Speaker 1: Thomas Jr. where he goes. Brandon, would you want to
- 41:43Speaker 1: take a flyer on him if they trade him to
- 41:45Speaker 1: New England?
- 41:50Speaker 2: Honestly, right now, maybe he would have much of the
- 41:54Speaker 2: same spot as he would on the Jacksonville's current roster.
- 41:58Speaker 2: So I don't think he would honestly see that much
- 42:02Speaker 2: more play time, especially, and we'll touch on more on
- 42:04Speaker 2: this later, with how well Drake has been performing.
- 42:08Speaker 1: We will be talking about that. Honestly, I might take
- 42:13Speaker 1: a flyer on him, but it would be very interesting.
- 42:17Speaker 1: And also, I mean, we're going to talk about that
- 42:20Speaker 1: game in a second. But final point here, I know
- 42:25Speaker 1: the Texans got 114 total rushing yards, but their running
- 42:31Speaker 1: attack does not impress me.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and I just also found out that David Montgomery
- 42:35Speaker 3: has been hurt for a while.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he has been.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Do you think the Texans are missing Montgomery?
- 42:42Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 42:43Speaker 2: But you know, But you know who else has had
- 42:46Speaker 2: a really unimpressive run game? And I think this is
- 42:48Speaker 2: a great transition point. You know who else had a
- 42:51Speaker 2: really unimpressive run game?
- 42:54Speaker 3: Who?
- 42:55Speaker 2: The Atlanta Falcons.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah!
- 43:00Speaker 3: Yeah!
- 43:01Speaker 1: We might as well bite the bullet here.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Take it away, Talon. Well.
- 43:08Speaker 3: I like to interject here. This is why I was
- 43:11Speaker 3: worried about my pick for the Falcons this week, because
- 43:13Speaker 3: I didn't know Caleb Williams was playing this game. Turns
- 43:15Speaker 3: out he was. Now go.
- 43:18Speaker 1: That is definitely a fair point. And Brandon, before I
- 43:22Speaker 1: also go, I think you were also on the fence
- 43:25Speaker 1: about this game, weren't you? Because we didn't know if
- 43:27Speaker 1: Caleb Williams is going to play in this.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Say that one more time.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I think you were also a little hesitant on this
- 43:37Speaker 1: game because we didn't know if Caleb Williams was going
- 43:39Speaker 1: to be playing.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 2: I'd already used my little asterisk pick, you know, for
- 43:44Speaker 2: that Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley game a couple of weeks ago.
- 43:49Speaker 2: But yeah, I didn't, I still didn't expect Caleb Williams
- 43:52Speaker 2: to ball out like that.
- 43:53Speaker 1: I didn't either. Now, here's my thing. When I first
- 44:00Speaker 1: saw the broadcast team, I was like, Oh fuck. Yeah.
- 44:04Speaker 1: I say what you will about Tom Brady as a player.
- 44:07Speaker 1: I know Brandon is probably thinking. I have things to
- 44:11Speaker 1: say about Tom Brady as a player.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Um, six rings.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Wait, I actually have a question because Kevin Burkhardt and
- 44:19Speaker 3: Joe Davis are on the baseball team. Who was with
- 44:21Speaker 3: Tom Brady? Was it Kenny Albert or no, it's Kevin Burkhardt. Oh,
- 44:24Speaker 3: he was still there. Oh, that's cool. Yeah.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Um, But when it comes, and also, I mean, the
- 44:30Speaker 1: reason Kevin Burkhardt was there is because the NLCS was
- 44:33Speaker 1: on Fox. It was over in four games. So you
- 44:35Speaker 1: don't have to worry about that. When I saw that
- 44:39Speaker 1: that was the broadcast team, I was like, oh, fuck yeah,
- 44:42Speaker 1: we're getting the A team. Then you find out, hey,
- 44:46Speaker 1: it's going to be on locally in my area, so
- 44:49Speaker 1: I don't have to go to like a Glory Days
- 44:51Speaker 1: or a B4 Brady's or a B-Dubs to go watch
- 44:54Speaker 1: the game. I can watch it for the low, low
- 44:57Speaker 1: price of $ 0. 00 on my TV.
- 45:02Speaker 3: But that wasn't the case for me because, you know,
- 45:03Speaker 3: I am with the Rams area.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and then that first drive happened, and... Xavier Watts
- 45:12Speaker 1: drops an interception. They have a third and eight and
- 45:16Speaker 1: they run a fucking hook and ladder play for 15 yards.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Caleb Williams is just an animal, man. He is an
- 45:27Speaker 1: absolute animal. The thing that I will say about this and. Again,
- 45:35Speaker 1: this might be the Atlanta fan in me talking. I'm
- 45:38Speaker 1: trying to do this as unbiased as I possibly can.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Be biased.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Okay, then I'll do one of each. As the biased fan,
- 45:50Speaker 1: if you would have told me that Atlanta was down
- 45:55Speaker 1: by 24 points in the fourth quarter... With Tom Brady
- 45:59Speaker 1: of all fucking people in attendance. And damn near made
- 46:03Speaker 1: it a comeback with Tom Brady in the fucking building.
- 46:08Speaker 1: I would have called you crazy.
- 46:11Speaker 2: He literally said in the commentary, he goes, Atlanta's down.
- 46:14Speaker 2: He goes, I've seen this kind of action before.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Kevin Burkhardt is like, I bet you have. And again,
- 46:23Speaker 1: credit to those two. Great pairing on broadcast commentary. They
- 46:27Speaker 1: work perfectly. I also like that. I think it was
- 46:30Speaker 1: either a Penix throw or it was a Caleb Williams throw.
- 46:33Speaker 1: But Tom Brady had another classic line. He said that
- 46:37Speaker 1: one of them was buttering the biscuits. And I was like, oh,
- 46:41Speaker 1: that's a fucking great line. Like, I was laughing. Again,
- 46:45Speaker 1: say what you will about Brady as a player, but
- 46:46Speaker 1: as a broadcaster, he's great.
- 46:49Speaker 3: I love him.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Because he actually is more authentic. But the real detriment
- 46:56Speaker 1: to Atlanta's offense, Nova, help me out with this. Does
- 47:02Speaker 1: that say nine carries for Bajon Robinson?
- 47:06Speaker 3: Yeah. What happened to the game plan?
- 47:13Speaker 1: Well, the first two drives were kind of ridiculous because
- 47:18Speaker 1: you have two screen passes that were snuffed out. Um,
- 47:22Speaker 1: the third down on the second drive though, Pennix had
- 47:24Speaker 1: a very good throw and Olamide Zaccheaus dropped it. Pennix
- 47:28Speaker 1: put it in that perfect position where only his receiver
- 47:33Speaker 1: could get it. Like say what you will about Michael
- 47:36Speaker 1: Pennix as a quarterback. I know, uh, we've had our
- 47:40Speaker 1: ups and downs with him. especially with the fact that
- 47:45Speaker 1: the stat is, you know, when he's got a clean pocket,
- 47:48Speaker 1: he's top three in the league when it comes to
- 47:52Speaker 1: EPA or shit, like whatever those fancy numbers are. But
- 47:55Speaker 1: when he's pressured, he is the worst quarterback in the league.
- 48:00Speaker 1: At least help me out with something. How many quarterbacks
- 48:04Speaker 1: usually struggle in a game when they're pressured on almost
- 48:07Speaker 1: 50% of their dropbacks?
- 48:14Speaker 3: Why is Mahomes the first one in my mind?
- 48:16Speaker 1: Probably just because it's a Mahomes thing.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the Mahomes.
- 48:24Speaker 3: It's just a Mahomes, Brandon said. Don't worry.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Yeah. But again, Caleb Williams, though, the one touchdown that
- 48:31Speaker 1: he threw, he broke contain and Brady naturally criticized Atlanta's
- 48:36Speaker 1: defense because they got too deep and the pressure allowed
- 48:40Speaker 1: Caleb to break pocket, all that stuff. But outside of that,
- 48:45Speaker 1: I mean, Caleb Williams, I mean, yeah, he had a
- 48:46Speaker 1: couple of nice throws here and there. Mike Hughes is
- 48:51Speaker 1: a goddamn liability in coverage, but uh that's again neither
- 48:57Speaker 1: here nor there we didn't have aj terrell we didn't
- 49:00Speaker 1: have cj henderson um our reserves are mike hughes mike
- 49:05Speaker 1: ford billy bowman's our nickel cornerback avion terrell though he
- 49:09Speaker 1: did some work in this game he actually had some
- 49:12Speaker 1: good uh coverage on the outside in this um what
- 49:17Speaker 1: i will say though johan dotson that touchdown catch that
- 49:22Speaker 1: he had when it made a 14 to 7 that
- 49:25Speaker 1: was a beautiful back shoulder throw by michael pennix like
- 49:30Speaker 1: that's the kind of throw that proves to me that
- 49:33Speaker 1: he could be the future in Atlanta. Of course, everybody
- 49:37Speaker 1: just factors wins, losses, of this, of that. Oh, I'll
- 49:42Speaker 1: tell you where to blow me sometimes.
- 49:46Speaker 2: To quote Brady, that was an absolute piss-pistle.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Yes, it was a piss missile. But actually, not even that, Brandon.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I'm not even going to say that was the piss missile.
- 49:56Speaker 1: The piss missile was the one that he threw to
- 49:58Speaker 1: Kyle Pitts where Kyle Pitts pulled a Julio Jones on
- 50:02Speaker 1: Malcolm Butler in that Sunday night game in the fog
- 50:06Speaker 1: after the 28-3 game where Julio said to Malcolm Butler,
- 50:11Speaker 1: give me that ball, you stupid eight or stupid ass.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Like I got a little carried away there, but no,
- 50:23Speaker 1: it was essentially like that because you watch the play.
- 50:28Speaker 1: The linebacker was in front of the ball. How the
- 50:30Speaker 1: hell Kyle Pitts caught it and ran for, I think
- 50:34Speaker 1: that was as long as game that 29 yarder up
- 50:39Speaker 1: the sideline. It was just crazy to think about. And
- 50:42Speaker 1: then naturally two touchdowns. That's great. Um, especially for me
- 50:47Speaker 1: in fantasy, because I have Kyle pits. Yes. I'm one
- 50:51Speaker 1: of the few idiots out there who picked Kyle pits.
- 50:56Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 50:58Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, Atlanta made it close, made it
- 51:01Speaker 1: a one score game. Um, and again, like Penix taking
- 51:08Speaker 1: five sacks, but three of them were from Kyler Gordon
- 51:11Speaker 1: who blitzed off the sideline. And then did you guys
- 51:14Speaker 1: see Bajon's attempt to block Kyler Gordon?
- 51:19Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Oh, it was great. Hold on. I don't want to
- 51:26Speaker 1: interject here, but do you not want.
- 51:27Speaker 3: To do something about the echo?
- 51:30Speaker 2: I'll say it. Is there an echo?
- 51:37Speaker 3: I think it's for you. Oh, wait.
- 51:45Speaker 1: I think I know what. Let me try doing that.
- 51:49Speaker 1: It might be because of the audio. when I had
- 51:53Speaker 1: the screen share. I may have kept that audio.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. No, yeah, that was it. That's it. Thank God.
- 52:00Speaker 2: I was about to give myself a lobotomy.
- 52:03Speaker 3: We do have errors from time to time, and this
- 52:06Speaker 3: is another example.
- 52:08Speaker 2: I was about to give myself a lobotomy.
- 52:11Speaker 1: So there's the effort on the block.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Oh, that's a horse collar.
- 52:17Speaker 1: A for effort, though, right?
- 52:22Speaker 3: No, that's a flag for a horse collar, no?
- 52:24Speaker 1: Oh, he got flagged for holding.
- 52:26Speaker 2: That's a hold at the lead. That's definitely not a
- 52:29Speaker 2: horse collar.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he got flagged for holding there. But, yeah, at
- 52:37Speaker 1: bare minimum, guys, yeah, Atlanta lost the game. They're now
- 52:42Speaker 1: 0-3 at home. It basically means that Atlanta Stadium– Like
- 52:48Speaker 1: we don't have home field advantage, even though they had
- 52:51Speaker 1: a bunch of well-deserved content creators there, mind you. But
- 52:59Speaker 1: outside of that, yeah, we're two and four now and
- 53:06Speaker 1: they're playing the 49ers next week.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Oh, that's going to be a rough game.
- 53:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, especially if the running game doesn't establish what
- 53:19Speaker 3: happened that day.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, the other thing, again, that I will say,
- 53:28Speaker 1: Zachariah Branch, that's another thing. Atlanta would have gotten the
- 53:33Speaker 1: ball down 14-7 with under two minutes in the first half.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Zachariah Branch, because apparently their punter, this Torrey Taylor, I
- 53:44Speaker 1: don't know if he's been taught, if he's been learning
- 53:47Speaker 1: with the fucking Savannah bananas, but he punts a banana
- 53:51Speaker 1: ball and Savannah bananas.
- 53:54Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Um, so he got a muffed punt on Zachariah branch.
- 54:04Speaker 1: So it was kind of unfortunate there also, uh, Brandon,
- 54:08Speaker 1: I think you and Nova will agree with this. Why
- 54:12Speaker 1: is anybody fielding a punt inside the 10-yard line.
- 54:17Speaker 3: To try to draw a fair catch interference penalty?
- 54:21Speaker 2: Most players are too smart for that nowadays. It's better
- 54:24Speaker 2: just to let that be a touchback and get the
- 54:25Speaker 2: extra yardage.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Exactly. So that's what got me there.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Did anyone else have a kickoff return fumble too?
- 54:34Speaker 1: Yep. Zachariah Branch.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Special teams, ladies and gentlemen.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Special teams, special players.
- 54:43Speaker 1: And then the last thing that I'm going to say
- 54:45Speaker 1: about this game, prayers up to this young man, to
- 54:50Speaker 1: Kendall Daniels, number 53. He got absolute. So he tackled
- 54:58Speaker 1: Colston Loveland on a play in the third quarter. And okay,
- 55:04Speaker 1: you know, make nothing of it. Okay. He's, he looks
- 55:07Speaker 1: like he's hurt. Yeah. Guys, it took three commercial breaks
- 55:12Speaker 1: to stabilize this young man.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Three commercial breaks is crazy.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Yeah. So they, they stabilized him. Thankfully they put them
- 55:23Speaker 1: on the backboard. They put them on the cart. But
- 55:28Speaker 1: as you can see here, that he had all movement
- 55:32Speaker 1: in his extremities. He was released from the hospital. He
- 55:35Speaker 1: was actually back in the locker room after the game.
- 55:41Speaker 1: So my best guess, and again, this is me. I'm
- 55:46Speaker 1: going to be talking like a medical professional, even though
- 55:48Speaker 1: I'm not a medical professional. My best guess, when he
- 55:53Speaker 1: made that tackle, he suffered a pinched nerve in his neck.
- 55:58Speaker 1: which resulted in a full body cramp. So that would
- 56:04Speaker 1: be my best guess based on the information that I saw.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's probably pretty fair to assume.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but prayers up to Kendall, man. And that's not
- 56:18Speaker 1: even just an Atlanta fan talk, and that's just an
- 56:21Speaker 1: NFL fan. You never want to see a player get
- 56:26Speaker 1: hurt you damn sure never want to see them get
- 56:29Speaker 1: carted off, and you damn, damn sure don't want to
- 56:34Speaker 1: see them carted off on a stretcher.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 56:42Speaker 1: But now that that's out of the way, let's move
- 56:46Speaker 1: on to a fun game. Which game would you like, Brandon?
- 56:50Speaker 1: Which game would you like?
- 56:51Speaker 2: I have a fun game suggestion. I have a fun
- 56:54Speaker 2: game suggestion.
- 56:55Speaker 1: You know who else?
- 56:56Speaker 2: You know who else's run game was not impressive?
- 56:59Speaker 3: Don't.
- 57:00Speaker 2: The Baltimore Ravens.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Oh, boy, the Baltimore Ravens.
- 57:06Speaker 2: No, but take it away on this one, buddy.
- 57:08Speaker 1: You got it.
- 57:10Speaker 3: There's only one thing that there's only like one mean
- 57:13Speaker 3: to perpetuate this game, and that is my disappointment is
- 57:16Speaker 3: immeasurable and my day is ruined. And it isn't even
- 57:21Speaker 3: because of the fact that we lost this game, because
- 57:22Speaker 3: I keep pointing this out whenever I see a divisional
- 57:25Speaker 3: game is that For some reason, the divisional games always
- 57:27Speaker 3: end up being either the closer games or the games
- 57:29Speaker 3: that we end up getting wrong about.
- 57:31Speaker 2: And we're the Cleveland Browns.
- 57:34Speaker 1: I know you are!
- 57:38Speaker 3: Anyway, for the headline here, Lamar Jackson was out again,
- 57:42Speaker 3: which actually threw a wrench at this one, because I
- 57:45Speaker 3: didn't think he wouldn't be playing this game, and I
- 57:47Speaker 3: was like, uh, this could get ugly, this isn't game managed, and, uh,
- 57:52Speaker 3: For some reason, Tyler Huntley just couldn't elevate this offense
- 57:54Speaker 3: after the first couple of drives. So CS stat line
- 57:58Speaker 3: 19 for 31, 165 and a touchdown, which is a
- 58:00Speaker 3: four-quarter touchdown pass to Josh Cuevas, the rookie, which honestly
- 58:04Speaker 3: was a little bit of a ballsy play to do.
- 58:06Speaker 3: But hey, we got the touchdown. We were leading 10-0
- 58:08Speaker 3: at the first quarter. Then the offense just falls flat
- 58:13Speaker 3: on its face.
- 58:15Speaker 1: And we're the Cleveland Browns.
- 58:18Speaker 3: I know you are. Is this really going to be
- 58:21Speaker 3: the joke of this game, really?
- 58:22Speaker 1: I mean, it's a good one.
- 58:29Speaker 2: At least you had one more passing yard than he
- 58:31Speaker 2: who shall not be named.
- 58:33Speaker 3: That's the worst part. He didn't even throw a touchdown pass.
- 58:35Speaker 3: He kept feeding the ball to Jerry Judy and we
- 58:37Speaker 3: just couldn't cover Jerry Judy.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Four catches on four targets.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Including the one that set up the game-winning field goal
- 58:45Speaker 3: by Andre Schmidt. And it's just annoying because Tyler loop,
- 58:50Speaker 3: he missed a kick in the third quarter. Cause it
- 58:52Speaker 3: veered to the left. And then on top of that, yeah.
- 58:59Speaker 3: And then on top of that, Derek Henry fumbled the
- 59:01Speaker 3: football deep in our territory, which allowed the Browns to
- 59:04Speaker 3: get that touchdown auto older to address team estimate.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Right that in that in that great for me having
- 59:12Speaker 1: derrick henry in fantasy and you.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Want to know the worst part this is the worst
- 59:16Speaker 3: part about this any game for the ravens that derrick
- 59:19Speaker 3: henry fumbles we lose.
- 59:22Speaker 1: And in this case you lost to brandon.
- 59:27Speaker 2: We're the Cleveland Browns.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I know you are! If I can say one thing
- 59:34Speaker 1: that I thought was really impressive, shout out to Declan
- 59:39Speaker 1: Doyle on this play design, by the way. Josh Cuevas
- 59:41Speaker 1: lining up in between the left guard and the center,
- 59:45Speaker 1: but he's off the line of scrimmage, so he's technically
- 59:47Speaker 1: an eligible receiver, and he just goes right at the
- 59:50Speaker 1: fucking middle of the field for 29 yards.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that was such a great day. Again, after that
- 59:56Speaker 3: first quarter, our offense just falls flat. We kept going
- 59:58Speaker 3: three and out, three and out, three and out. Or punt, punt, punt.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: And then the entire loop missed field goal. Then that one.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: And then the Derrick Henry fumble. And then we never
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: got to see the ball again. And I know people
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: are going to rag on about, oh, it's another double-digit
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: blown lead. I'm going to be honest with you guys.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: It didn't feel that way. This game just felt like
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: a slow roll.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Brandon, you said it, though. This game... We pun. We pun.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: We pun. We pun too. Hmm.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Pun.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: I love that content creator so much.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: He is so fucking hilarious with that. And the pun
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: thing works for everybody. Drew Allen.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: Drew Allen.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: That's who it is.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Yeah. This was hilarious, bud. or just the videos of it.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: But yes, Nova, unfortunately, you lost to the Cleveland Browns.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Who are, by the way, back in first place in
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: the division since Thursday Night Football two weeks ago.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Who could have seen this coming?
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: How are we allowing this to happen? This goes for
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: not only myself, the Steelers, and the Bengals, too. How
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: did this happen?
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: What happened here?
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Even worse news, Jake Moody's back in the practice squad.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: That should be interesting.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: The one last thing I will close on is that
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: we have to figure out something about Mark Andrews. Either
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: we got to figure out if Matthew Hibner, who was
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: injured this game, could figure out a role in this team,
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: or Josh Cuevas makes the second come up, or If
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: we finally get our injured people healthy, I'm looking at you,
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Cam Jorgen, specifically, but hopefully Omar Jackson is back soon enough.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: If not, I do have my worries because, yes, this
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: is a game that I think we should be fine
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: losing because it's a divisional opponent. It happens. But at
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: the same time, it's not encouraging to know that we
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: lost this game because Tyler Huntley couldn't elevate the offense.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: There's a reason he's a backup and that Derrick Henry
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: was shut down by this Cleveland front seven.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: You know who else has to figure something out?
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Who is that, Brandon?
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Cam Ward.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Oh, really? No, I don't think it applies to just
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Cam Ward. I think it applies to the Colts, too.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Cam Ward, 11 for 22, 102 yards.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Touchdown and a pick.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Or better yet.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: I mean, if we're keeping a book right now, we ass. Facts.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: But however, it's got the first win. Hold on. That's
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: not the only thing that's ass. What about the Colts?
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Daniel Jones looks like Daniel Jones.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: Perfect.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Guys, I think I speak for everybody here where
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: it's like, I don't care who you are in prediction land.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: How many people actually picked the Titans to win this game?
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: One person did, Brandon Perna.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Two people did, the Titans fan that I work with.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: They exist, apparently.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Evidently, they exist. But wait, Perna picked the Titans to win?
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: Yes, he did.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Oh, God. Tom Grossi's scripted video is going to be
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: even more ridiculous now.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: And you don't know what his score was. He predicted
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: to be 6-2. 6-2 is a.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Diabolical prediction of the score.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: It's on the NFL YouTube media, something like that.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: The man had no faith in Indianapolis whatsoever. He said,
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: you know what? You guys get a safety. That's okay.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: You know who else needs a safety? The entire front office.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: Because Chris Ballard lost his job for this game.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: As he should.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, he's been there for 10 years, and
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I've got friends who are Colts fans who hated Chris Ballard,
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: and they're just like, we finally did it. They finally
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: listened to us.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: He's out of here. Let alone he's only made the
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: playoffs just once.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but at the same time, I mean, he kind
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: of got dealt a very unfortunate... Look, say what you
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: will about... Chris Ballard as a drafting GM. He kind
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: of got dealt a really shitty hand when Andrew Luck retired,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: like just abruptly at the end of the preseason.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Yeah, if I was Andrew Luck, I'd quit wanting to
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: run for my life every game. So I can't say
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: that I played him.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: I'm guessing something happened in the Ducks game.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Yeah, they scored on an empty net.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: It's 3-2.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm watching the Ducks game at the same time.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: I'm going both games. But, yeah, getting back to this game,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I mean, Brandon, you said it. Cam Ward, 11 for 22,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: 102 yards. Guys, we just said it about Bo Nix,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: and I read the thing with Ryan Fitzpatrick. What the
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: hell is it with these quarterbacks right now that they're
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: throwing for barely 100 yards?
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: They're barely throwing the length of the football field.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: I mean, you're relying on the short passes to develop
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: into big runs. What do you want me to say?
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Even then, like, it's difficult to do.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: I mean, on.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: The plus side, at least Jonathan Taylor made somewhat of
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: an appearance. I mean, 21 carries, 94 yards with a touchdown.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: I mean, Cardinal Tate, six receptions, 70 yards. That's pretty good.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: 70 of those yards 70 of those 102 yards went
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: to one.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Player yeah that's just horrible and then I think it
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: was actually was it DeForest Buckner that I saw after
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: the game Brandon I think you might remember this wasn't
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: it DeForest Buckner who was basically like I'm sick of
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: the same old song.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: And dance it was.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: That's gotta suck.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: And I have a very bad feeling this is not
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: the it for the Colts, because I don't think Chris
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Powers could be the only person gone from this fire sale.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: No.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: I keep an eye on Jonathan Taylor. I keep an
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: eye on him.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: You think they'll part ways with Jonathan Taylor?
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: If they go full rebuild, they're getting rid of Jonathan Taylor.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Damn.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I mean, that's actually a pretty shocking....
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Claim there they don't have their first round pick this year.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Yeah exactly like who else do they also have to
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: get rid of I mean Jonathan Taylor I think is
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: definitely worth at least one first round.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Pick Quetta Nelson who's on an expiring contract.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: He's not worth a first round pick Keenan Allen is
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: on his way out the door he's old Josh Downs
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: eh injury prone.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Laquan Treadwell I'm surprised he's still in the league.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: Isn't he just on a one year deal still like
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: the Colts have nothing.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: I mean they have they have Carly Gordon on the
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: sideline I.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Mean true.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: But yeah this is just an indictment on the Colts
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: more than the Titans like again I'm glad the Titans
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: won this game and you know what the worst part
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: of this I feel vindicated with this win I feel
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: vindicated and you're gonna find out like way later down
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: the scoreboard you're gonna feel you're gonna see why I
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: feel vindicated.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I'm curious about what he's referring to on that. But
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: let's segue away from the fact that the Colts are
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: a dumpster fire. The Titans are even worse of a
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: dumpster fire. And let's go into some fun mode. Brandon,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: let's talk about your Patriots.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Hey, I thought you'd never ask. So... As I alluded
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: to earlier, out of our three teams, mine was the
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: only one that won. Fun facts. Drake Mays still continues
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: to look good.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: He does.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: 18 for 32, 235, three touchdowns. The run game was
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: kind of eh, but the Jets have been really good
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: at stopping the run this year for the most part.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Jets couldn't stop Pop Douglas. They couldn't stop Hunter Henry.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: They gave up a good TD catch to Romeo Dobbs.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: But A.J. Brown and Drake May just could not get
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: on the same page.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Hold on, I got the energy down here. Didn't A.J.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: Brown have like four drop passes?
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: He had three receptions on 10 targets for 27 yards.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but I remember photoshopping in butter.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: He had some pretty bad drops. And I don't know
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: if it's just because he's just coming back from injury
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: or whatnot. And they lost that chemistry that they had
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: in training camp. But I expect A.J. Brown to step
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: it up over it. Because obviously A.J. Brown is a
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: very elite receiver in his own ways. which, going back
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: to the Philadelphia discussion, Philadelphia has definitely looked dramatically worse
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: since parting ways with A.J. Brown as well. Like, this
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: is a pretty good showing for what New England's still
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: continuing to improve on. Because, like, I don't know what
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: happened to Drayton May, who suddenly had a fire lit
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: under his ass after we started 1-2. I think he
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: honestly just might have been getting shit-stomped by Jacksonville 35-6.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: But we turned around, we beat the Bills, we laid
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: it down to the Raiders, and we turned around and
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: beat the Jets. And then next thing you know, we've
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: got a game in two nights to the Chicago Bears.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: So that'll be a good test, will be the Bears.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: If we can win that game, then I'm going to
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: be very impressed with the changes that have been made
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: somewhere behind the scenes. Especially if Caleb Williams continues to
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: look like he has. Because not only will we have
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: beat two good teams in arguably three and the Bills, Raiders,
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: and Bears, knock on wood that we beat the Bears,
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: then Drake may just kind of step it up and
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: we'll be on a four-game win streak.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: It'll be interesting, Brandon. And I think we'll leave this
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: game on one message. Thoughts on former New York Jets
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: head coach Rex Ryan saying that A.J. Brown was playing
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: with feet for hands.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: Rex Ryan can shut the hell up. That man wouldn't
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: know football if it bit him in the ass. Rex
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Ross has always hated the Patriots, and there's nothing else
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: about it. He can just go shove off somewhere.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Well, I think I know who else can shove off
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: right now. The Pittsburgh Steelers defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: in overtime.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: How did they let this game escape? Tampa Bay had
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: this game in the bag.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Do you not know who's coaching the Buccaneers?
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: That's besides the point.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: You have a geriatric head coach under for Pittsburgh, and
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: you have an even older geriatric under QB. Like, how
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: did they lose this game?
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: And the geriatric head coach spent all of halftime in
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: the medical tent because he hurt his foot.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: His ankle. His ankle.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Still, like.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: If you don't like this game, you don't like Steelers football.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: That's all I'll say.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: I don't even think it's bad.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: It keeps happening. That's why I can say that. It
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: keeps happening. They shouldn't.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: I mean, it says something about the Bucs. When you're
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: up 13-3 at halftime, you let the Steelers come back
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: and force overtime. You're... undrafted free agent quarterback who I'll
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: be completely candid has looked pretty, pretty okay in his starts.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I think it's safe to say guys three weeks in, he,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: he hasn't looked horrible. Really?
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: No, he's not look bad.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: Honestly.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Um, It is kind of funny that one of his
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: two interceptions came at the hands of former Tampa Bay
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: Buccaneers cornerback that all of Tampa Bay hated in Jamel Dean,
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: who evidently got bigger and fatter.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Is it the James Harden effect?
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: It looked that way because when I saw that it
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: was Jamel Dean who picked it up, I was like,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: that's Jamel Dean? Like, I remember when he was almost
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: like skin and bones.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry. He had the Eddie Lacey effect then.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Got it.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Yeah. And then Jalen Ramsey calling game on a fourth
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: down cornerback blitz where the right tackle just whiffed. Just
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: absolutely whiffed. And uh jaylen ramsey calls game and yeah
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: pittsburgh wins they survive and yeah tampa bay is just
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: one game closer to firing todd bowles and maybe they'll
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: have zach robinson as their head coach.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: Also because like in fun news i'm sitting over here
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: looking at the NFL scoreboard page, and off to the side,
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: I see Steelers bring back veteran Marquez Valdez-Scantling.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Oh, MVS is still in the league?
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: MVS is still in the league.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Three hours ago, got a report on ESPN that they
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: brought back MVS.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Did that just tell you how bad the receiver room
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: is outside DK Metcalf? Yeah.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: It's pretty rough.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: Like, they got rookie Jordy Bernard, and what?
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: Also, you're not utilizing the tight ends. I mean, sure,
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: you didn't get a touchdown pass catch from Darnell Washington,
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: but what a fire move. I mean, yeah, he was hurt,
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: but like, what? Like, look at this. Like, 11 targets
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: each to DK Metcalf and Jeremy Bernard. That doesn't seem good.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: I actually know. 11 receptions on 12 and 15 targets.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: Safety blankets.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: That's what Aaron Russ is relying on these days, I guess.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: And you know, speaking of safety blankets, never fear, 18
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: is here to lose.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. He tried to
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: win that game after getting into the game from the bench.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: He tried.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Yeah. How about me picking New Orleans to win this game, huh?
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: How about J.J. McCarthy coming in the last, what, 11
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: minutes of the game and throwing for 243 yards?
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually have some things about this game. So
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: where are you? JJ McCarthy took the third most passing
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: yards by any quarterback in a single fourth quarter this decade.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: Holy crap.
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: And y'all wanted to say he was done.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: I said he was a bum. I didn't say he
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: was done. I said he was a bum.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I just said he was a bust. I didn't
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: think that. I don't remember using the other BU word.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: I use both words. So I found this on PFF.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: So JJ McCarthy, obviously, 243 yards in the fourth quarter.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: That is more than Tyler Shuck against the Lions, 158.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: Jared Goff against Carolina, 161 this season. Joe Burrow, 179
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: against Jacksonville. And then Matthew Stafford with 191. JJ McCarthy,
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: 243 is the most.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: So the only thing that I'll say about this game is....
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: J.J.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: McCarthy did all this in the fourth quarter, right?
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: Imagine what he could do in a full game.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Jameis Winston did 152 in three quarters. Do the Giants
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: just start McCarthy next week?
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: Yes! Honestly, I think there's a decent argument to be
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: made there, Brandon. Jameis Winston 152 yards in three quarters.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Tyler Shuck 144 yards in four quarters.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: Hey, he didn't turn the ball over at least.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Nor was he sacked.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: He threw three touchdowns.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: It would be a good game for McCarthy to get
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: in because they have the next week against the Texans
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: and the week after that against the Eagles.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: Should be fine.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Should be, should be fine. Also, I will just say
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: this Malik neighbors. Nice, nice coming out party, especially on
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: that MetLife turf that cost him his season 12 for
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: a buck. 65. That's pretty good.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: I actually do have another thing to point out. I mean,
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: I don't know the fact that the Saints thought the
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: game was over. They put their backups in it. Anyways.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: Oh wait, the game's not over yet. JJ McCarthy's trying. Yeah.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Again, never fear. 18 is here.
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: But also, there's some little.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: If you didn't hear that, that was me doing the
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Tom Grossy banging his head into a wall as a
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Giants fan.
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: You might not want to be doing that because Cam
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: Scattermoot didn't get a single carry in his game.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and Najee Harris got cut today.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: I actually do have something else to add on because
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: of the Camp Scataboo thing. There's been, hold on, let
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: me scroll up. I'm pretty sure I like the, hold on,
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: where am I scrolling? Okay, from Ari Marinoff on Twitter.
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: A fired up John Harbaugh says running back Camp Scataboo
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: wasn't benched. Getting zero carries wasn't by design. He says
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: no one has stepped up in the running back room.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: He's trying to figure out who DI is. When pressed
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: on the topic, quote, I don't know what else to say.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: That's the best answer you can get on that in
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: a thousand years. There's not a coach in the world
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: that will give you a better answer than that. If
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: you're not thrilled with the answer, I got nothing else
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: for you, honestly. And then Cam Scadaboo says that he did,
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: in fact, lose some game time because of the fumbles
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: he had last week against Washington. So, this is also
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: just like, New York, this is what Harbaugh does. He'll
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: mask just about anything to save himself.
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: Scadaboo not having any touches in this game is crazy.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: And again, Harbaugh's not taking accountability for it.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Well, actually, Nova, I think I know what you're thinking
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: about with Harbaugh when he said this.
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: There you go.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: And we've dealt with this for years with Eric Henry
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: as well. Come on.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it'll be interesting to see what happens there,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: but let's talk about the last game in the one
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: o'clock window. It'll be brief. Carolina defeated Philadelphia. I mean,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: is there really much to say about this game? There
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: was no Jalen Hurts because of all the stuff that happened.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Credit to the Eagles for fighting, at least.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: For sure.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't think the Panthers would lose this game,
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: not because I didn't think that their defense was good.
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: I just didn't think their offense would have it, even
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: with or without Jalen Hurts. Which, by the way, prayers
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: are for Jalen. Just like, Tanner McKee's not the same quarterback.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: No, he's not. Chubba Hubbard had his way with everything, too.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: By the way, Brandon, I'm just now noticing it. Look
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: at Tanner McKee on the sacks.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, 28 yards lost on three sacks. Yeah. That's a
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: nice number.
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: I can't fucking win with that shit.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: You'll never escape the 28-3 as long as you live.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Just know that somewhere in your deepest, darkest corners of
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: your mind lurks Tom Brady with his Super Bowl ring.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: Jalen Coker, six receptions, 77 yards. Tedderow, McMillan, six for 86.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Trimble with two touchdowns on four receptions. Yeah, complete game,
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: and Bryce Young's time to come up.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: I forgot about Tommy Trimble to be so for real
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: with you, and I live in the Carol Islands. Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it'll be interesting to see what happens
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: with Carol.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: With Philadelphia, I actually haven't... I've been hearing rumors that
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: they might trade Saquon Barkley to deal calls for it.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: It's just rumors. I could see it happening. Can you, Brandon?
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: I could, but at the same time, it wouldn't be
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: for a very good deal that Saquon would honestly be
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: worth just because Saquon is a little hurt right now.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: I mean, again, any running back team that's desperate for
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: a run is going to want to try for one.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Can you imagine Bijan with that or someone with that?
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: I will burn your car to the ground.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: No, we can't have that because I would lose my fantasy.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: I would lose fantasy touches on that. So I need
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: y'all to stay one good running back.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: I love the fact that Brandon's channel is inner Jason McIntyre.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: Honestly, it'll be, again, it'll be interesting to see what
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: happens with Philadelphia, both off the field and on the field.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: But speaking of on the field and off the field,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: let's talk about the real biggest shocker of, well, Again,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Tennessee winning was probably the biggest shocker. The second closest.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: No, no, I would think, you know, we're on the
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: same page here, except I think this is the biggest shocker.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Oh, you actually do think the Cardinals being the Rams
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: was the biggest shocker?
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Well, we'll take it away.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: On that note. So I told you one of the
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: guys that I play VGC with is a Cardinals fan.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: And I literally sent him a message. I just messaged him.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: I said, Cardinals? He goes, I'm not believing shit until
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: that clock hits zero. He goes, this offense hasn't scored
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: a TD today. And the Rams pull ahead right there
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: towards the end. And he goes, see what I tell you.
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: And he messages me back. 10 minutes later, well, I'll
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: be damned. I was like, okay.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: So-called super team, am I right?
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: So-called super team, especially since they now, unfortunately, have lost
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: Devontae Adams for the next six to 10 weeks. So
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: that's going to hurt the Rams a lot more than
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: what they were already hurting, too. So I don't understand
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: how the Cardinals won this game, but I also don't
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: understand how the Rams defense lost this game either.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Nova, take that away.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: I was going to say neither of them are true.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: They lost because special teams. Literally all their points were
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: field goals.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Special teams, special players.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: I want to see this go down. Shout outs to
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: Chad Ryland. Six for six. Scored all 18 Cardinals points.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: I wish I picked him up in fantasy. If I'd
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: known anything like this shit was going to happen.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: That's literally me with Chase McLaughlin fantasy. But continuing on.
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: Also special teams. Blake Rupe, who just got signed by
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: the Rams. Out for the year on the first play
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: of the game.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: Literally. That's awful.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: And they had to have the punter pick the extra
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: point to get the game winning. To get the go
- 1:24:22Speaker 3: ahead touchdown extra point combo. They had to put the
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: punter out there. And he got it. But you also
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: want to know something ridiculous. Other than the fact that
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: the Cardinals won. They have won both their games at
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: SoFi Stadium. They're 2-0 there.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: Hey, so the Cardinals, they might have to move from
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Arizona to L.A., don't you think, Brandon?
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: Three L.A. teams.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: What could go wrong? What could go wrong?
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: Well, the Rams are already going wrong.
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: Yeah, they're now in last place at the NFC West.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Yeah, they don't have Devontae Adams now, like Brandon said.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: They don't have Blake Grupey, like Nova said. They don't
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: have Puna Ford anymore because he tore his tricep. Miles
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: Garrett is still on IR and hasn't practiced for weeks
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: ever since that Australia game. Aaron Donald, I think he
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: had what?
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: Two tackles. Two total tackles and three total.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Aaron Donald came out of retirement for this shit?
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: He did in fact come out of retirement for this shit.
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not looking good. I mean, everyone's throwing blame
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: at the Rams, how this is suddenly the disappointing team
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: in the league, and how this is just like the
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: disaster for Los Angeles. I mean, not only because the
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: Stodgers got swept, but the fact that they're just not fighting.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: You could make the legitimate argument, were it for the
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: Eagles choking or the Broncos double matching happening, they'd be 0-6.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: I mean, granted, our expectations for the Rams were high,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: but holy fuck.
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: And actually, I think I know what Brandon's trying to
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: segue into, because like, God, you want to talk about
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: disappointment in LA? I feel vindicated for this one, because
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: you go to the next game, I feel vindicated, because
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: the Chiefs got the Chargers to 0-6, and I feel
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: vindicated saying that I called it the Chargers are the
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: worst team in the league.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: I still think Miami is worse. I think, and I
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: genuinely believe this, I think Justin Herbert has just given
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: up on football. He does just enough to play. But
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: I think that he's just done with the Chargers. And
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: we already knew from experience that the other Harbaugh brother
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: was not really a good coach and hasn't been. as
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: I stated a couple of weeks ago, since Colin Kaepernick
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: was in the league.
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: So you're aligning yourself with the Barstool thing, where it's like.
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: What is that one ranking where it's like.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Oh, trust me. I've got the computer rankings. I'll read
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: them to you before we do our previews.
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: There's a legitimate argument that Herbert might actually retire early.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: There's actually an argument for it now.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: No, no, I would be shocked, but like we've said
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: it before, we'll say it again. Kenneth Walker was the
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: star of this show. The man has 665 rushing yards
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: on the season, averaging five points and five games, averaging 6.3
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: yards per carry on 106 carries.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely looking like.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: I know he's getting talks for MVP, which I like seeing.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: And I think, Brandon, I think you would agree with that.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: And Nova, probably you too. Like, it's nice to see
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: non-quarterbacks getting MVP talk, right?
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. Especially since he decided he wanted to
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: run a hole through us in the Super Bowl last year.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: And then he ran, and then he just kept running
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: out of San Francisco all the way to Kansas City.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: Yeah, he just kept running. And I'm just like, he's
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: just like, he's like Forrest Gump.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: Run, Forrest!
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: Run!
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: I'm just like, what's happening here?
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: Still six points in a divisional game? That's an embarrassment.
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: And also, I have another thing pulled up. The Chargers
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: is their franchise's first 0-6 start since 2000.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: UNO is also very... I don't mean to cut you off, Talon.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: You know what's very interesting? I'm looking at Vegas Insider, right?
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: For MVP odds. Kenneth Walker's name is not even on
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: this list.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: Really? Really? I'm not surprised.
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: In order, Josh Allen, Brock Purdy, Mahomes, Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow.
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: What?
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: Drake May, Lamar Jackson, Jordan Love, Goff, Stafford, and Prescott.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: In odds order. Wow. Okay.
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: Vegasinsider.com That's actually kind of surprising, but I think right
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: now it's pretty safe to say he's runaway offensive player
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: of the year.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not without a doubt. I mean, especially because he, again,
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: I'm not sure you guys saw it, but the post-run
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: end zone interception first quarter.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: Admittedly, I didn't see that.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: I was subjected to it because, again, I'm from the area.
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: I was subjected to it.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: Now, question for you guys before we move on to
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: the last game in the late window. Who gets fired first,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Jim Harbaugh or Mike McDaniel?
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Mike McDaniel.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that was self-explanatory. I actually did see something.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: Somebody said they're going to fire Mike McDaniel and replace
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: him with Adam Gase.
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: That would be the worst case scenario for the Chargers.
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: Just make them want to go back to San Diego.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: Just make someone retire from the league as a team.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Well, let's talk about the last game of the late window,
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: which was the Buffalo Bills defeating the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: I do just want to throw this out here, guys.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: The Raiders are a Pokemon VGC player at a regional.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: They started 3-0, and now they're out of day two
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: with two rounds to play.
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: Love that joke.
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: I'm still looking for where Ashton Genting went to.
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: I said that last week.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: I said that to my brother. I was like, is
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: Ashton Gentry just not being used right now in Vegas?
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: Like what the hell is going on here?
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: Did I not say, did I not say.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: I'm going to make a reference. That's going to be
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: too old for Nova to understand. Um, and I say,
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: this is the man who probably still has never watched
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: the episode of SpongeBob in his life. Um, do you
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: remember the cartoon on TV of where in the world
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: is Carmen San Diego? Oh my God.
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: I've seen, I've seen it. I might have. Oh my God.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: That show was such a classic.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: Where in the world has Ashton Ginty disappeared?
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: Better yet, which timeline?
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: He's disappeared somewhere in here. I don't know. I mean,
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: he didn't have a TV in the game, but outside
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: of that, it's nothing. 10 carries for 22 yards. We're,
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: Where did you go? Yeah.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: I mean, it's, it's, it's ridiculous right now. And then also,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: I mean, you said it with Josh Allen being, what
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: was he? Number one on the MVP list for Vegas insider.
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: That flip pass for a touchdown at Keon Coleman. What
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: the hell?
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: I think that was just luck.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Oh, that was absolutely luck.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: Um, But, yeah, I mean, Bills win over the Raiders.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: Got close in the end. I mean, 33-30, you know.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Cousins starts, you know, pulling a little bit of some
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: Kirko chains out on him. You know, he's trying to
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: play the house. Again, I'm doing some Vegas references. You know,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: we're in the house. He's playing some blackjack. The dealer's
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: already got a– or, no. The player next to him
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: has already got a 20, so he's trying to maybe
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: get a 21. He's got a 17 right there, and
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: he draws a five, and he busts.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: This is what I don't understand. I'm not going to
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: say much on this game outside of this, too, but
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: Josh Allen is leading the race for MVP, but at
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: the same time, if you look just from outside of
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: the fact that obviously Josh Allen is a mobile QB, Like,
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: if you compare Kirk Cousins with Josh Allen, right, which
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: I know is kind of a hard comparison to make.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: Hear me out here. We're just going by QB like
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: QB is pure.
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: Passer, right?
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: Josh Allen has thrown for 1,504 yards, nine TDs, four picks, okay? 76.2 QBR.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: Keep that in mind. 1504, 94, 76.2. Kirk O. Cousins. 1,582
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and 5 picks. His QBR is
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: lower than Josh Allen's. But, like, where's Kirk Cousins in
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: this argument? Because Kirk Cousins arguably is having one of
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: the best years of his career since leaving the Redskins.
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: And I will call them the Redskins in this case
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: because that's what they were when he left them.
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: Yeah, they were doing it for timeline purposes.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: So, like, this is arguably one of the best career
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: years he's had in a while.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look, I'll say this. I mean, Kirk
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: Cousins has been looking very good. It also helps when
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: he actually throws to a tight end. And by tight end,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: I mean tight ends.
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: I've been saying that they have the best tight end
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: room in Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer. I've been saying it.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: Brandon, he has been saying it. Yeah, yeah, sure. But no,
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, Kirk Cousins has been playing incredible. But
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: at the same time, I mean, here's the main thing
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: with the MVP. Cousins has three wins, and Allen has
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: five wins.
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: Yeah, for some reason, favorite MVP is the winners.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: You want to know who the real winner of this
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: weekend was?
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: Who is that?
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: Me, because the Cowgirls did not win a game yet again.
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: Oh, I wanted to close out on something because I'm sorry.
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: You got it. Fine. I'll just do it. It's like, well, briefly,
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: have you not been seeing the James Cook discourse on
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: social media?
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: Not particularly.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: Like vaguely. Can you refresh my memory?
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: How James Cook is being blamed for a lot of
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: his fumbles and how he's not getting touches because Josh
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: Allen keeps taking his rushing touchdowns at the goal line.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: Not saying that's saying is blaming, but it's like, People
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: are alluding that maybe Joe Brady or somewhere along the lines,
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: I don't want to get political with this one, but
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: they think it might be a race thing with James Cook.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: I don't buy that for a second.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he was also mentioned in the press conference for
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: no reason when Joe Brady was asked about C.J. Gardner-Johnson's ejection.
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: He brought up James Cook randomly.
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: I mean, I think they wanted to stay as far
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: away from that debacle as possible. And, I mean, yeah,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: you mentioned it. C.J. Gardner-Johnson spitting at Brock Bowers or
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: spitting in the direction of Brock Bowers, but it just
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: so happened that maybe some of– remember the Seinfeld episode, Brandon,
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: with the magic loogie. Allow me to demonstrate. The loogie
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: hits Kramer– On the right.
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: Oh, I found it. I found it. I found it.
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: I found the tweet. So, uh, so from, okay. So
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: then I found it. So Joe Brady says CJ Gardner
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: Johnson will not be cut by the bills. And then
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: you need to hear this from the quote. CJ is
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: a member of the Buffalo bills. We brought him here
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: for a reason. He knows he has to be better
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: for this team. We have to learn from the stuff
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: and get better. No different than James Cook fumbling. so
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: much of the social media is like you had no
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: reason to bring up james cook there.
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: Yeah i don't think there was no there was no
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: reason for that um.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: But yeah no i mean it was basically like the
- 1:36:57Speaker 5: the magic loogie episode of seinfeld and yeah now he's
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: suspended for a game because of it but I wanted
- 1:37:06Speaker 5: to suspend my animation, Brandon.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: I mean, I know we briefly went back to the
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: Bills game. Let's go back into the Cowboys-Packers game. And
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: like I said, it's time to suspend C.J. Gardner-Johnson. I
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: suspended my disbelief on this game. I turned it off
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: at halftime. Now, granted, I had a massive headache, but
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: that's probably because I watched the Cowboys for 30 minutes.
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: So, again, like every time we talk about it, if
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: a QB has to throw the ball more than– 50
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: times a game. Something's going wrong here. Dak Prescott threw
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: 54 times. One TD, two picks. His only TD was
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: to somebody not named George Pickens or CeeDee Lamb.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Ryan Flournoy.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: Who I dropped on Fantasy, by the way.
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: Like, neither run game was existent for either team.
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Although now the Packers might get a run game back
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: because Josh Jacobs is eligible to return week seven. So
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: they might actually have a running game.
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: Yep. And I think Green Bay has found their current
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: WR1 as well in Matthew Golden.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: You don't think it's Christian Watson?
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: No, no, not at all.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: Honestly, I'm in agreement with Brandon.
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: You want to say that on all the drops they had?
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that's fine. I mean, because on Thursday... targets, yeah,
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Golden had six of them, but he also had 104
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: receiving guards and a TD. Christian Watson had three catches
- 1:38:37Speaker 2: on eight targets.
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: I kid you not. There were so many drops in
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: this game. I was infuriated. No, yeah.
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: There's a lot of butterfingers.
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: There's definitely a lot of butterfingers. I do also want
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: to point this out because I know, again, Brandon, I'm
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: sorry I didn't get that soundboard piece. I will try
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: to get it for next week. Again, I watched the
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: first half, so I watched the two picks that Dak
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: Prescott threw. The first interception, okay, the corner or safety,
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: he literally was on the line of scrimmage, and then
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: he ran all the way back and basically lurked it
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: like you are a linebacker in Madden.
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: And then the second one, CD land fell on his route.
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: Yeah. So Dax thrown four interceptions in the last two weeks.
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: And Brandon, again, it's fun to mock the cow girls,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: but I think all of us can agree. Three of
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: Dax four interceptions in the last two weeks have not
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: been his fault. They've actually been good passes. It's just
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: shit has happened. That caused an interception. Yeah.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: No, I can agree with that. I also need to
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: find it again, but I know whenever we started talking
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: about the first game with Denver and how bad Bo
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: Nix was, I also found another regression model that compared
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: QBs and where they ranked as versus how frequently their
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: interceptions happened and what those interceptions were caused by, whether
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: it was bad QB play, receivers dropping the ball, hospital balls,
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: you name it. And Dak Prescott was still kind of
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: like middle of the road on him making bad throws,
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: even with his receivers dropping it.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: Or in this case, slipping.
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: Yeah, or in this case, slipping. But yeah, no, I mean,
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: Packers win. They're 4-2 now. Everybody in the NFC North
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: has a winning record, so... who knows what's going to
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: happen with that division. And meanwhile, the Cowboys are two
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: and four and let's just wrap it up with the
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: 49ers and the commanders, because for the second consecutive week,
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, an entire division lost in back-to-back weeks.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: And that is counting a week where two of them
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: played each other and tie.
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: Like, is there really anything else to say about this game?
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: Yes, the Niners almost blew this game.
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: I was going to say, I thought it was fourth down.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: I really thought it was fourth down.
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: Dude, don't do this to me! I know what you're
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: talking about. Even Dan Quinn was confused at the call.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel bad for Q, man.
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: No, I feel bad for Jaden. What are you talking about?
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: I feel more bad for Jaden.
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: Eh.
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: I mean it's it's out there although uh brandon i
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: will be curious about your thoughts on two things number
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: one did you see the picked up flag for the
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: helmet to helmet hit in this.
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: Uh i did and that is something i am still
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: very puzzled by yeah.
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: That was that was something that even i thought was
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: kind of weird like It was clear helmet to helmet.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: And even the rules analyst, Russell York, said it on
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: the broadcast. And then the second one, because I'm sure
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: you've probably seen it going on Twitter right now. The
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: Traylon Burks catch that was incomplete. Your thoughts on that?
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: Because apparently the ball touched the pylon. Therefore, it is
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: a touchdown.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it broke the plane.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. He dropped it. He dropped it.
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. It does caught the ball, too. That's fine.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: Look, I saw that one as well. I firmly believe
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: Burks dropped it.
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm on that belief, too, Brandon, because look, my
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: thing is, if he would have survived the ground, it
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: would have been a touchdown every hit because, yes, the
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: ball broke the plane, hit the pylon, yada, yada, yada,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: all that hullabaloo and a bag of chips. But He
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: didn't survive the ground. Therefore, I don't give a shit
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: that it touched the pylon. He didn't have complete control
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: of the ball. That's literally, what was that? Is that
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: step one or is that step two of securing of
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: the whole? Step two. Thank you, Nova.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: I don't even know if the NFL knows what a
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: catch is.
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: They don't.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: Oh, they don't. They have no idea. You also don't
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: have no idea?
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: Probably the Niners defense because how do you allow the
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: commanders to get back in this game? You're up 20
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: to three.
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: Like how? Soft prevent defense.
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: Say it with me. Prevent defense prevents winning.
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: Well, also think about it this way. It was Dan
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Quinn versus Kyle Shanahan. Brandon had that. What do Dan
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: Quinn and Kyle Shanahan have in common?
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: I wonder what they have in common. What do you
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: think they have in common?
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: I am very curious. I think they were together in
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: some game or something like that.
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: Some Super Bowl where they coached together. I think they
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: had a lead of like 28 to 3 at some point.
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like a big lead or something like that.
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: And they got too cute.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: Made some choking sounds along the way. Yeah, it was unsuccessful. Yeah.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: And there may have been a crazy catch in that game.
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: God bless Julian Edelman.
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: Oh, Mr. Substation.
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: Yes. But again, oh, Mr. Substation.
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: It got both Mike Evans and Terry McLaurin.
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: I'm not even going to blame the substation on Terry McLaurin.
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: I'm just blaming it on Mike Evans.
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I heard those at Achilles.
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: For Mike Evans, it was just a right Achilles tendonitis.
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: So it's not torn. It's definitely just irritated, though.
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: And then McLaurin's out for the year for the Commanders.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: R.P.
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: Scary Terry.
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: That absolutely sucks. I feel bad for him because you
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: think he always had these right receiver one situations, and
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: you have these type of games happen.
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: Yep. Yep.
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: All right. And that's going to end week six on
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: the predictions. But before we start week seven, you guys
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: know I have to do it. The obligatory Barstool Big
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: Cat week six NFL computer power ranking.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: I swear to God, I hate this ranking.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: I do.
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: Just power through it. We're almost done.
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: No, we're not done.
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: Yes, we are. Let him go.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: We're almost done. We are almost done. Okay, so the
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: power rankings are as follows. Juggernauts, Kansas City, and San Francisco.
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: Super Bowl contenders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots,
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos.
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: Denver Broncos no Seattle no New England if we beat
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: Chicago this week then maybe.
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: All right next up best division in football the NFC
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: North all four teams yeah.
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: Wait are you sure is that what are you what's
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: the AFC North because both of them have winning records you.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: Well hold on listen that statement again second best division
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: in football led by, and we're the Cleveland Browns.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: Again, I need to point this out. How did we
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: let the Browns do this?
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: How'd you let the Browns?
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: How did you let the Browns?
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: I'm asking this to the Steelers too. You guys are
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: not escaping this one, Steelers.
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: No, not escaping this one. Next up, keep buying stock.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: They're coming. The Houston Texans.
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: No.
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: Leading the worst division in football, but legitimately good, the
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: Carolina Panthers.
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: I thought that was going to say the New York Giants.
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: Well, next up, if the Panthers somehow falter, I guess
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: it would be them, question mark, the Falcons and the Saints.
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: Interesting. Someone has to win.
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody has to win. Fun and frisky is the
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: next category. That is the Arizona Cardinals.
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: That is not true at all. They're a SoFi merchant.
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: That's definitely true. They should have won that game.
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: They should have won that game. Bad vibes and possibly
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: broken beyond repair. The LA Rams.
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: Next up. Stop being a dork and buy a football team.
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: Elon Musk and the flying car.
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: That is a definite no. Nobody would appreciate it.
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: I mean, I still don't even understand the whole thing.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: He really made a flying car.
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: Or is that just a fragment of your own imagination?
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: It might be a fragment of my imagination. Next up,
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: frisky on the right week. The Jets and the Raiders.
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: Can we stop giving the Jets credit? You're falling for
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: this trap. The Jets actually play good defense with football.
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: It's fine. I can see it.
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: I don't. I say that as a Pats fan.
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: Next up. Still life's greatest mysteries. Is Bo Nix good?
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: Amelia Earhart. Who shot John F. Kennedy? Where is the
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: G spot? And a bunch of airplanes that blew up.
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: Jesus Christ.
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: All right. Next up, someone has to win the NFC East.
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: The New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: Big Blue.
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: And JJ we trust.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Okay. Next up, season from hell. The Philadelphia Eagles and
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: I have no idea who this guy is. It's some
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: white guy with brown hair. And I don't know. Is
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: he a college quarterback? I don't know.
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: You may have a look.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: Yes, I will show you.
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: So we kind of said, do you realize how stereotypical
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: of an image a white guy with brown hair is?
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not really helping our description.
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: This guy.
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: Is that Arch Manning?
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: Oh, that's Arch Manning. That's Arch Manning.
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I have no idea who the fuck.
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: That's so funny.
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: I mean, he did just get benched.
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: He did get benched.
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: All right, next up. We're in bad with Bucs, but
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: then almost won Monday Night Football, so they're just a
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: little above bad, but still bad. The Washington Commanders.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: Look, again, the only good thing about the Washington Commanders
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: is Jaden Daniels. Everything else about this team sucks.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: Well, wait, there's more.
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: And bad.
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: Brandon, bad. The Buccaneers.
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: Agree?
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: Like I said, the obligatory cannons. This is the obligatory cannons.
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: It's just Sidney Sweeney, which, again, can't go wrong with
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: the cannons.
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: Again, correct.
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: Incorrect. I'm going to be real.
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: 80 way.
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: Next one. They won a football game. Fuck yes. The
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: Tennessee Titans.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: I mean, it had to happen.
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: Next up, foot fetishes. The Indiana Hoosiers and some guy.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: Some random neckbeard that looks like in the middle of
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: a shopping mall.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: What's the Hoosiers one? I don't understand that one. Oh,
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: was it because of the out-of-bounds touchdown with caught out-of-bounds?
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: Probably. Next up, bye week. So kind of forgot they exist,
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: the Miami Dolphins.
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: Next up, hell, but Lucifer just got fired, so there
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: is now hope, the Colts.
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: They need to fire more people, and there might be
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: a little more hope.
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: Yeah, my stike can make me next.
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: Probably Steichen. And then the last category, Mega Ass Cheeks
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: and It's Somehow Getting Worse and Football Might Be Worthless.
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: I can't even....
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: You know what? You want to make it even better, Fro?
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: Just throw a picture of Justin Herbert there. That makes
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: it even better. Oh, goodness.
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: I literally lost my breath there. I literally lost my
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: breath there with the With reading that one. Oh, my God.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: I can't believe you forgot. You didn't know who Arch
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: Manning was. I can't believe it. That's the best part.
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: Like, I look at Arch Manning to know what he... Whatever.
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: It is what it is. But we got through the
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: Barstool Big Cat computer power rankings. Let's start talking about
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: week seven. And I will recap that... Right now, the
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: records are, Brandon, you have 50 wins, 42 losses, and
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: the tie. Again, we all have the tie. So, there's that. Brandon,
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: did you say something?
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: Nope, nope. I was saying, yep.
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: Nova, you are 54-38-1. He is deep in thought, ladies
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: and gentlemen.
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: He's over here cheering, going like, continue.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: And in first place is me, with 57 wins, 35 losses,
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: and a tie.
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: Raked.
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: Brandon has a point. He and I picked the Raiders,
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: and the Bills just did their thing again. Yeah.
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: Admittedly, that game literally determined who won last week. So
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: but let's start with let's start with the predictions, guys.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: Patriots at the Bears on Thursday night.
- 1:54:01Speaker 3: And I like to make a little caveat shout out
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: before we make the predictions. I know it's on Amazon Prime,
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: but let's just say I really want to be a
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: good acting job for you, Brandon. So let's shoot. Take one.
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: How do you think you should watch this game?
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: If you're superstitious like me, the answer is not at all.
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: Oh, because if you really wanted to watch this game
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: and you don't have Amazon Prime, go ahead and check
- 1:54:25Speaker 3: out Prime Sports on Switch because you can watch this
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: game for free.
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: Bet.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: He is right, you know. How do you think I
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: watch the games on Thursday night?
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: Remind me. Reminds me on Thursday.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: We will remind you on Thursday.
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: We'll see if we can get through these pretty quickly,
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: but I've got to stick with the Patriots. I can't
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: root against Patriots, even at Soldier Field.
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: All right, Brandon's rocking with his Patriots. Nova, who are
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: you taking?
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: I'm taking the Bears.
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: I'm burning your house down. It's fine.
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: I think Caleb Lewis is playing at a phenomenal level
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: You could make the argument Drake Mays doing the same, and.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: Honestly, this might be crazy, but I'm actually going to
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: ride with Brandon. I'm going to take New England in
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: this game.
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: I mean, it's going to be a good game. I
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: can tell you that.
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: Oh, for sure. Next up is the Paris game, which
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: if you don't know the backstory, there's been chaos in
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: the country. So let's see if the Steelers and the
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: Saints can make it out in one piece.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: Also, how fitting is it that the Saints are the
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: team for the first game in Paris with the fact
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: that their logo is a fleur-de-lis?
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: That's pretty ironic, honestly. Give me the Steelers.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: Yep, I'm riding with Pittsburgh in this game.
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: As am I.
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: All right, we are all lockstep on Pittsburgh and New Orleans.
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: So let's go to Atlanta, the.
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: 49ers and the Falcons. Give me the 49ers.
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: Give me the Niners.
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: Okay, this is where you guys are going to get
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: me crazy, but I'm riding with Atlanta, and here's the
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: reason why I'm riding with Atlanta. This week, Atlanta's wearing
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: their throwback jerseys, and not just the throwback jerseys, but
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: they're wearing it with the black throwback jersey from when
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: Brandon and I were kids in the Jerry Glanville back
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: in black jerseys. With the red helmets.
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: And also, this is how crazy it is. I don't
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: know what superstitious black cat running around the franchise that
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: usually ran around Dallas when Stephen A is doing his
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: anthem about the Dallas Cowboys. But for some fucking reason,
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: the Falcons, when they play with that throwback jersey and
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: red helmets, they do great. And case in point, last year,
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: they wore those jerseys on the two Monday Night Football
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: games against the Bills and the Rams. How did those
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: games end up?
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: B's on popping off.
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I'm going to ride with Atlanta in
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: the throwback jerseys.
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: I mean, that's going to be the reason the Falcons
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: win this game. I just think the 49ers offense might
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: be too much for Atlanta.
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: I think it might come down to Mike Evans' plays.
- 1:57:38Speaker 3: I don't think he will.
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: We'll find out.
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: We'll find out. But let's move on. A divisional matchup.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: Tampa Bay at Carolina. Give me the Panthers.
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: Give me the Panthers.
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: Yeah, this one is not even going to be a game. Unfortunately,
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: I have to watch it in my area. Next up.
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: Browns.
- 1:58:02Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: Give me the Browns. Ugh.
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: I just threw up in my mouth reading that game.
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: See, I don't know what to think of this because
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: the Browns only scored 13 points on the Ravens. Granted,
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: the Ravens' defense is actually really good. You lost to
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: the Saints.
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: I don't call your defense really good. Did I say
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: it all right? I.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: At the same time, also, the Browns-Ravens game is an
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: AFC North matchup, and we all know how AFC North
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: matchups typically go.
- 1:58:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I'm thinking like, well, are we going
- 1:58:39Speaker 3: to expect the Browns not to score points again, or
- 1:58:41Speaker 3: is this just like, just because it's AFC North football? No,
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: I think the Browns.
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: Are going to score points on this one.
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they'll pull away, but do not be
- 1:58:51Speaker 3: surprised if this ends up being close. Because I have
- 1:58:55Speaker 3: a super sticky feeling it might be.
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: But you're still picking Cleveland?
- 1:58:58Speaker 3: I am, but I imagine it's not going to be
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: by much.
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: That is fair. Moving on, Colts and Vikings.
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: Vikings.
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: Vikings. Yeah. I mean, outside of Jonathan Taylor taking over
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: this game, I have a feeling that Indianapolis is just
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: hoping to hear this in their near future.
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: Well, if they don't pick Jonathan Taylor, they're not going
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: to hear that sound in the first round.
- 1:59:26Speaker 3: No, incorrect buzzer. Incorrect buzzer right now. They don't have
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: the first round pick, remember?
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: That's what I said. They're not going to hear it
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: in the first round.
- 1:59:37Speaker 3: Oh, right.
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: I forgot about the sauce gardener trade. Yeah.
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: Oh, look.
- 1:59:44Speaker 1: There's the team that has the Colts first round pick.
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: The Dolphins and the Jets.
- 1:59:50Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: Give me the Jets.
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: What happened, Talon? What happened?
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: Uh. I assume if I thought the Cleveland-Tennessee game was bad,
- 1:59:58Speaker 1: this one might be worse.
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: Give me the Jets.
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm taking the Jets. He's thinking, I think he
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: wants to take Miami.
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: I'm picking Miami to win.
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: God. You just want to disprove the statement about the
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: Chargers being the worst team in football and not Miami.
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: No, I know the Chats are going to collapse this game.
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: I'm calling it. The Dolphins are going to randomly win
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: this game.
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: Well, that'll be interesting if it happens.
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: Moving on.
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: Bengals at the Ravens. This is a game.
- 2:00:39Speaker 3: If Lamar Jackson plays.
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm all right with Cincy.
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: Let me actually look at this real quick.
- 2:00:50Speaker 3: Because remember, Lamar Jackson is still day-to-day according to Jesse Minter.
- 2:00:56Speaker 1: I'll at least ride with Cincinnati because they're coming off
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: a bye week. But again, it's a division rivalry game.
- 2:01:05Speaker 3: And for some reason, this game as of late has
- 2:01:06Speaker 3: just been like pure offense between the Bengals and Ravens.
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: As long as Derrick Henry can get me a couple
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: of tutties, maybe 100 yards in fantasy, I don't care.
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: You will care if he fumbles. If he fumbles, we lose.
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's probably the only thing I hate about our
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: fantasy league is that even if a player doesn't lose
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: the fumble, they get credited with a lost fumble and
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: lose points.
- 2:01:37Speaker 3: I'm going to pick the Ravens. I'm hopeful Lamar Jackson
- 2:01:39Speaker 3: plays this game and actually fixes, like, The lack of
- 2:01:42Speaker 3: offense we had last week against the Browns. This is
- 2:01:44Speaker 3: must-win territory for the Ravens. Like, I kid you not.
- 2:01:47Speaker 3: This is must-win.
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: Do you want the asterisk?
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: I thought about it last week. I didn't do it.
- 2:01:53Speaker 3: I'm still not going to do the asterisk. I'm saving it.
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: Okay. Brandon Nova is saving his asterisk right now. But
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: who are you taking? Cincinnati or Baltimore?
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: I'm taking Baltimore. I'm calling this the Derrick Henry breakout game.
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: All right. So you think last week was just Cleveland's
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: defense just clamping him?
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: I mean, that's fair. Moving on to the Giants and
- 2:02:18Speaker 1: the Texans.
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: Here's my roughly defenders. I think J.J. McCarthy throws three
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: touchdowns and a loss.
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: Admittedly, if this game was in New York, I might
- 2:02:33Speaker 1: have picked the Giants because it's in Houston. I'm taking C.J. Stroup.
- 2:02:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm taking Houston as well, but my ruffling defenders,
- 2:02:40Speaker 3: I think JJ.
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: McCarthy throws three touchdowns. We're going to differ in this one.
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: I'm taking the Giants on this.
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: I'm taking the Giants on this.
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, go ahead.
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: I was going to say, Brandon has his, he's watching
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: Tom Grossy, Nova. He's got his superhero mask and cape on.
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: Never fear, 18 is here.
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: I have a lot of faith in this Giants defense
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: because they are playing phenomenal.
- 2:03:10Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 2:03:10Speaker 3: They give a 34 to the Saints.
- 2:03:13Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Are you seeing how these rookies are playing?
- 2:03:20Speaker 3: I'm seeing a scoreboard.
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: I'm looking at the actual logistics of it. You pay
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: attention to that scoreboard all you want to and pick
- 2:03:26Speaker 2: your tax zones. I'm picking the Giants. Come back at
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: me next Tuesday.
- 2:03:33Speaker 3: Yeah, come back at me after the Dolphins.
- 2:03:37Speaker 1: Well, next up, the Broncos are going to the Cardinals.
- 2:03:40Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 2:03:42Speaker 1: Seriously, Brandon, before we even talk about this, I got
- 2:03:45Speaker 1: to mention, look at how bad the 4 o'clock window
- 2:03:49Speaker 1: is on Sunday.
- 2:03:50Speaker 2: It's abysmal.
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: It is horrible. And the worst part is my area
- 2:03:55Speaker 1: has a 4 o'clock doubleheader.
- 2:03:59Speaker 3: For which network?
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: Well, Well, no, I mean, like, we have... Because.
- 2:04:07Speaker 3: Remember, CBS for this one is a 105 window, meaning
- 2:04:10Speaker 3: that's not the doubleheader game.
- 2:04:12Speaker 2: Fox is the doubleheader game.
- 2:04:15Speaker 1: What I mean by that is, like, if I pull
- 2:04:19Speaker 1: up my Spectrum TV guide, and I just go all
- 2:04:25Speaker 1: the way to... It's a Sunday. I can tell you
- 2:04:28Speaker 1: guys right now what my... Now, granted, this could also
- 2:04:31Speaker 1: change between today and Sunday, but as it stands right now,
- 2:04:40Speaker 1: the 1 o'clock window for us wants this thing. Okay.
- 2:04:51Speaker 3: Granted, I'm not going to have a 1 o'clock.
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: Actually.
- 2:04:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I might. I don't know if LA Network's going
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: to put the Broncos game on. I don't know about
- 2:04:59Speaker 3: that one.
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: So we have Fox at 1 o'clock on Sunday. We
- 2:05:04Speaker 1: have to watch the Bucks and the Panthers because that's
- 2:05:07Speaker 1: the local game. But at 4 o'clock, we either get
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: the Broncos at the Cardinals or the Packers at the Lions.
- 2:05:16Speaker 3: Huh? Huh?
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: I'm telling you, this 4 o'clock window is horrible.
- 2:05:23Speaker 3: No, that makes no sense. Hold on, what's the Bucks-Panthers
- 2:05:27Speaker 3: game on?
- 2:05:28Speaker 1: Box 13.
- 2:05:30Speaker 3: And the Broncos-Cardinals game is on CBS. What are you
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: talking about?
- 2:05:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: Yes, we are referring to the double 425 game for us, Nova.
- 2:05:43Speaker 3: I see 405 on that game. What are you talking about?
- 2:05:45Speaker 2: Broncos-Cardinals is 405 on CBS. Packers, Lions, and Rams, Raiders
- 2:05:53Speaker 2: are both 425 on Fox.
- 2:05:57Speaker 3: But he said Broncos, Cardinals.
- 2:05:59Speaker 1: Yeah, so like.
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: Anyway, let's please move on.
- 2:06:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm taking Arizona in this game.
- 2:06:05Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: I'm also taking Arizona in this game.
- 2:06:09Speaker 3: Nah, I'm taking Denver.
- 2:06:12Speaker 1: All right, that's Denver. But Nova, I'll explain it to
- 2:06:15Speaker 1: you afterwards.
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: The part that's confusing me is, like, why are you
- 2:06:18Speaker 3: talking about, like, two different networks on the same network? Like, huh?
- 2:06:21Speaker 3: That's just confusing me.
- 2:06:25Speaker 1: It'll be something that I can try and explain. But
- 2:06:27Speaker 1: let's get through the final predictions. America's Game of the Week.
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: The Packers at the Lions with Tom Brady and Kevin
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: Burkhardt on the call.
- 2:06:37Speaker 2: Ooh, Tom Brady's on the call for this one. I
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: might actually have to watch that.
- 2:06:40Speaker 3: Packers. And here's why. Do you really expect me to
- 2:06:49Speaker 3: believe in the worst defense in the league to pull
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: up for once?
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: I mean, they're going to Brian Branch back, so... This
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: might be crazy, but I'm going to ride with Motown.
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: Give me the Lions.
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: I'll also take the Lions.
- 2:07:12Speaker 3: I'm just lone wolfing everything, aren't I?
- 2:07:17Speaker 1: We need to get him the lone wolf hat the
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: NFL Network has, Brandon.
- 2:07:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I can see it.
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: Alright, three games left. Rams at the Raiders. Vegas.
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: Vegas. They lost Devontae Adams. Don't try to rationalize it.
- 2:07:41Speaker 3: Uh, I don't know. Yeah, fine. I'll pick the Raiders.
- 2:07:45Speaker 3: I was going to pick the Rams because they were
- 2:07:47Speaker 3: probably going to make this like a Puka Nagua game,
- 2:07:49Speaker 3: but I don't know.
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: I'll pick the Raiders. They can't get the run game running. Yeah.
- 2:07:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I was going to say, didn't Kyron Williams say
- 2:07:55Speaker 3: that he was getting annoyed that he's not getting the ball?
- 2:07:58Speaker 2: Yeah, the Rams team is a giant. mess, both on
- 2:08:00Speaker 2: the field and off the field.
- 2:08:03Speaker 1: Yeah. The Sunday night game, Kansas City at Seattle. The
- 2:08:08Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker revenge game.
- 2:08:12Speaker 3: Well, I guess as much as I want to pick
- 2:08:13Speaker 3: Seattle here, I don't see anything stopping the Chiefs.
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: I don't see anything stopping Kenneth Walker from running all
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: over Seattle.
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. So we're all picking Kansas City?
- 2:08:23Speaker 2: Unfortunately.
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: And then the Monday night game.
- 2:08:29Speaker 2: The Battle of the Losers.
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: The Battle of the Losers. Which game will be more
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: entertaining on Monday? Cowboys-Eagles or Game 3 of the World Series?
- 2:08:39Speaker 3: Game 3 of the World Series. I'm picking Philadelphia.
- 2:08:46Speaker 1: I'm going to take the Cowgirls.
- 2:08:53Speaker 2: Damn it. I don't want to do this.
- 2:08:56Speaker 3: Do you want me to write the meteor?
- 2:09:01Speaker 2: So since this is the last game, I'll make the
- 2:09:04Speaker 2: statement since this is our Monday night game of the week.
- 2:09:09Speaker 2: You'll never hear this out of me again. What? I'm
- 2:09:15Speaker 2: picking Dallas to win this one.
- 2:09:17Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:09:19Speaker 1: Really?
- 2:09:20Speaker 3: I'm really just low-golping a lot of these picks.
- 2:09:24Speaker 2: Jesus, how many is it?
- 2:09:27Speaker 1: Six?
- 2:09:28Speaker 2: It's like this. Dallas still has their starters.
- 2:09:31Speaker 3: They're going to underperform. I'm calling it.
- 2:09:35Speaker 2: Give me the cowgirls.
- 2:09:36Speaker 1: Believe it or not, Nova, you could actually overtake me
- 2:09:41Speaker 1: in the picks if you hit all five of them.
- 2:09:45Speaker 3: Oh, it's five. I thought it was six.
- 2:09:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Game 3 of the World Series is
- 2:09:52Speaker 1: going to be way much more entertaining than whatever cacophony ESPN.
- 2:09:58Speaker 1: We might even, oh, we didn't even talk about that
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: with the Bills and Raiders, Brandon. Jim Nance might be
- 2:10:05Speaker 1: questionable on Sunday with a broken wrist.
- 2:10:09Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:10:11Speaker 1: I don't know if he actually broke his wrist or anything.
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: Was it during his peanut punch with J.J.
- 2:10:14Speaker 2: Watt? Yes.
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: Thank you, JJ.
- 2:10:23Speaker 1: Oh, man. But ladies and gentlemen, that is going to
- 2:10:27Speaker 1: end episode 13 of the Ruffling the Feathers podcast. Thank
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: you guys so, so much for all of your support
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: as we discussed a very good amount of topics today. Brandon,
- 2:10:39Speaker 1: I'm just repeating my words right now. Am I not?
- 2:10:43Speaker 3: No, no.
- 2:10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we're all on the same page here.
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: I don't think we are. We're sleepy people. We need
- 2:10:54Speaker 1: to curl up with a nice cold beverage, watch some
- 2:10:58Speaker 1: old Spongebob that Nova needs to get on.
- 2:11:03Speaker 3: No.
- 2:11:05Speaker 1: We're going to get him, Brandon. We're going to get him.
- 2:11:08Speaker 2: I doubt it, but it's fine.
- 2:11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, at this point. But we will be back same
- 2:11:14Speaker 1: time next week with our recap of week seven. If
- 2:11:17Speaker 1: there's any updates on the NFL, we will let you
- 2:11:21Speaker 1: guys know. Make sure to follow us on all the
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: platforms that you get your podcasts from. Brandon, do you
- 2:11:28Speaker 1: have any final words for the people?
- 2:11:30Speaker 2: I do not today.
- 2:11:33Speaker 1: Nova, do you have any final words for the people?
- 2:11:36Speaker 3: Be sure to watch Riverside TV and the Friday Night
- 2:11:39Speaker 3: Pep Rally at 11 p.m. again on Friday, 11 p.m. Pacific,
- 2:11:43Speaker 3: because this week in high school football is going to
- 2:11:45Speaker 3: be a rather heavy one, and you don't want to
- 2:11:47Speaker 3: miss out with Jeff Gorham and Pep Fernandez.
- 2:11:51Speaker 1: That is correct. You don't want to miss it. But
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: for Brandon and for Supernova, I am Talent Master Jay,
- 2:11:56Speaker 1: and we will see you next time.
