- 0:00Speaker 1: Bring on the popcorn moment.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Brought to you by Boer, B-O-O-H-E-R, boerremodeling.com. Kitchen, bathroom, basement,
- 0:09Speaker 2: what are you trying to get done? Yeah, the answer
- 0:13Speaker 2: is Boer. And then things can actually get done. It's
- 0:16Speaker 2: the way it works. For me, it was, well, a
- 0:20Speaker 2: few years ago, it was the guest bathroom. And then
- 0:22Speaker 2: just recently, it was the kitchen. Now, as I've stated,
- 0:25Speaker 2: it wasn't a full-on remodel.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We didn't tear it down to the studs. It was
- 0:28Speaker 1: the countertops. It was the backsplashes.
- 0:30Speaker 2: It was these finishing touches that we want to make
- 0:33Speaker 2: sure we're done right. And we have this blue dunes granite.
- 0:37Speaker 2: And it wasn't even the first choice. We didn't go
- 0:39Speaker 2: in thinking this. We thought we were going with the courts.
- 0:41Speaker 2: We thought we were going to hit a court site.
- 0:44Speaker 2: We really had these visions. And then because of Boer Remodeling,
- 0:48Speaker 2: we got to meet all these amazing companies that have
- 0:51Speaker 2: the slabs of stone, lots of cool people and got
- 0:56Speaker 2: to talk to a bunch and really get input and
- 0:58Speaker 2: found this. This look that we're like, this is cool.
- 1:03Speaker 2: This is different. That's exactly who we are. We want this.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And instead of going with the sheen, very often with granite,
- 1:10Speaker 2: you see people get it almost like glossy and polished.
- 1:13Speaker 2: We went with something called leathered. I don't know if
- 1:15Speaker 2: you've ever even heard of this because I had not.
- 1:18Speaker 2: And it's just, it's more of like a matte finish,
- 1:21Speaker 2: but you can actually feel the stone.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Like our countertop has texture and it's awesome. What do
- 1:29Speaker 1: you want?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Boer is there to make it happen and make the
- 1:34Speaker 2: job done right exactly the way.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You want it.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Talk to Boer Remodeling today.
- 1:39Speaker 1: 317-852-5546. Tell them Tony Katz sent you. 317-852-5546. Boer Remodeling.
- 1:41Speaker 3: 852-5546.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Or online at Boer. B-O-O-H-E-R. BoerRemodeling.com. The popcorn moment. Let's go,
- 1:44Speaker 1: let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's a story you need to hear to believe then
- 2:00Speaker 2: grab your popcorn because there is more. I have a
- 2:05Speaker 2: whole host of things that I want to get to,
- 2:07Speaker 2: but there's a, I can't, I was just having this
- 2:11Speaker 2: conversation with a friend in Jersey because there's flooding all
- 2:14Speaker 2: over the place. These storms there's, there's, you're going to
- 2:17Speaker 2: hear stories. It's really, really bad in places near where,
- 2:22Speaker 2: where I grew up and where I have friends. So
- 2:24Speaker 2: I was checking in on some people and we were
- 2:26Speaker 2: talking about, um, It got into a conversation of some
- 2:30Speaker 2: car stuff we had been talking about. And my friend
- 2:34Speaker 2: in Jersey was relaying that his car insurance is inching
- 2:41Speaker 2: ever closer to five digits. That's a lot of money
- 2:47Speaker 2: for car insurance. My car insurance is too much. I
- 2:51Speaker 2: happen to like my car insurance people. I think they've
- 2:54Speaker 2: done a very good job for me. But it's crazy.
- 2:57Speaker 2: The number is nuts. The cost of the everyday things.
- 3:02Speaker 2: That's where we are. And I am stunned by the
- 3:07Speaker 2: Trump administration not addressing this with more clarity. They're performing
- 3:12Speaker 2: the same mistake, engaging in the same mistake that.
- 3:14Speaker 1: The Biden administration did.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Now, they have much more on their side, something that
- 3:20Speaker 2: a lot of the economists of Indiana never, ever accepted.
- 3:25Speaker 2: In the Trump administration, in this year, incomes are up.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Manufacturing is up. That could not be said of the
- 3:30Speaker 2: Biden years. They told us it was the greatest economy ever.
- 3:33Speaker 2: They were lying.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Why?
- 3:36Speaker 2: I don't care what degree they have. The numbers are
- 3:38Speaker 2: the numbers. The data is the data. And what they
- 3:40Speaker 2: wanted was the idea of it, not the reality of it.
- 3:43Speaker 1: The reality was it was bad.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Bad.
- 3:47Speaker 2: The reality here is that the take home is better.
- 3:50Speaker 2: The manufacturing is up and it's still bad because the
- 3:55Speaker 2: cost of everything as we perceive it. And in a
- 3:59Speaker 2: lot of places, the reality is that a place that's
- 4:03Speaker 2: just abhorrent. I talk about this with cigars and I
- 4:07Speaker 2: get I'm talking about a luxury product and rarefied air.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I concede the point. This is my luxury. This is
- 4:13Speaker 1: what I do.
- 4:14Speaker 2: If a cigar is $ 30 or $ 40 or $ 50, I'll
- 4:18Speaker 2: still do it. The problem, and you can talk to
- 4:22Speaker 2: cigar people everywhere, is that way too many cigars are
- 4:26Speaker 2: now getting into the $ 30 and $ 40 and $ 50 price point.
- 4:31Speaker 2: It is out of control. Everybody I know, this is anecdotal, agreed.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Everyone I smoke with, anecdotal, again. Dear Lord, are you
- 4:42Speaker 2: seeing these prices?
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Everybody's now on the lookout for the $ 14 to $ 16 stick.
- 4:48Speaker 2: The strange part about that is that five years ago,
- 4:52Speaker 2: this was.
- 4:52Speaker 1: The $ 8 to $ 10 stick, and.
- 4:54Speaker 2: The average in America was a $ 6 cigar. I was
- 5:00Speaker 2: always doing the rarefied stuff. I know that about me.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I don't golf. I don't do the other stuff. This
- 5:05Speaker 1: is where I do my indulgences. Conceited. Conceited.
- 5:09Speaker 2: But the average price because of tariffs, because of shipping costs,
- 5:13Speaker 2: because of other costs have gone up. And that's just
- 5:17Speaker 2: on the luxury stuff. You can cut that out. How
- 5:19Speaker 2: do you cut out the car insurance? And what do
- 5:23Speaker 2: I hear from President Trump?
- 5:25Speaker 3: President, do you know.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Any more about the attacks on the suspect migrants in
- 5:30Speaker 2: the UK? Is there a connection to Iran?
- 5:32Speaker 3: We know all about it.
- 5:34Speaker 2: This is about the foil terrorist attack against an Air
- 5:37Speaker 2: Force base in the UK.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'm going to talk more about that.
- 5:40Speaker 2: But listen to how President Trump responds to knowing about
- 5:43Speaker 2: this and how he goes full Trump.
- 5:45Speaker 3: You'll be hearing about it very soon.
- 5:47Speaker 1: We caught him.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Your big announcement tomorrow.
- 5:52Speaker 3: We're meeting with Anthropic, as you know, on Tuesday. That's
- 5:55Speaker 3: going to be a big. And we have a couple
- 5:57Speaker 3: of unrelated things tonight. And tonight I'm having dinner with
- 6:01Speaker 3: the head of Anthropic. So these are long days, but
- 6:05Speaker 3: I seem to be able to handle it, right?
- 6:07Speaker 2: These are long days.
- 6:08Speaker 3: People said, really? I said, I'm having dinner at 10
- 6:10Speaker 3: o'clock tonight. So we travel all over the world and
- 6:14Speaker 3: we have dinner, but that's all right. So I'm having
- 6:18Speaker 3: dinner with... Dario from, as you know, very highly respected,
- 6:22Speaker 3: from Anthropic. He's the head of Anthropic. Did you get
- 6:24Speaker 3: any congratulations from Pritzker?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Did you hear from him at all?
- 6:29Speaker 2: No, no, no. I didn't hear from him.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 6:33Speaker 3: You okay?
- 6:34Speaker 2: Great.
- 6:36Speaker 3: So that's a long day, right? We leave early in
- 6:39Speaker 3: the morning, and now I have a dinner with Anthropic.
- 6:43Speaker 3: But that's okay. It's good stuff. You know why it's good?
- 6:46Speaker 3: Because our nation is winning. We had an incredible meeting
- 6:50Speaker 3: with President Xi.
- 6:51Speaker 1: It lasted for a long time.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I mean, actually, two days, if you think about it.
- 6:57Speaker 3: And we've made tremendous progress. This last three days has
- 7:02Speaker 3: been very amazing. That was a great meeting with President Xi,
- 7:06Speaker 3: and a lot of good things are happening.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Can I just tell you?
- 7:11Speaker 2: That I realized as it's ending, I grabbed the wrong clip.
- 7:14Speaker 2: So I just put you through that for nothing and
- 7:15Speaker 2: I apologize. He's making an argument that with the exception
- 7:18Speaker 2: of oil, everything is way down. This was the clip
- 7:22Speaker 2: I was looking for while he's on the tarmac. That
- 7:24Speaker 2: with the exception of oil, everything is way down. You
- 7:27Speaker 2: could talk about Anthropic all you want. You could talk
- 7:29Speaker 2: about a great meeting with Xi all you like. With
- 7:32Speaker 2: the exception of oil, everything is way down is dismissing
- 7:36Speaker 2: where Americans are. Because the price of oil means the
- 7:42Speaker 2: price of other things is still high. And also, everything
- 7:47Speaker 2: is not weighed down. That is not the way Americans
- 7:50Speaker 2: see it. It is missing the story. So I'm sorry
- 7:54Speaker 2: about that. That was the wrong clip. I am. I
- 7:58Speaker 2: love how he's talking about how much energy he has
- 8:00Speaker 2: meeting with Dario from Anthropic and doing this stuff.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And he does.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Anybody who wants to say he's got himself a mental
- 8:06Speaker 2: acuity issue, but Biden was fine. Laugh those people out
- 8:09Speaker 2: of the room. But if he wants to say that
- 8:12Speaker 2: everything is great and everything's way down with the exception
- 8:15Speaker 2: of oil, that is missed opportunity and not true.
