Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Mr.
- 0:01Speaker 2: New York.
- 0:02Speaker 3: Mark Simone.
- 0:02Speaker 1: 710WOR.
- 0:03Speaker 4: Well, we'll get to Dolly Parton. We'll get to Darlene Graham.
- 0:10Speaker 4: We'll get to Crazy Kathy Hochul and a whole lot more. Hey,
- 0:15Speaker 4: I have very good news for you. Prince Harry and
- 0:18Speaker 4: Meghan Markle are gone. We got rid of them. They're
- 0:22Speaker 4: out of the country. They left earlier on a.
- 0:27Speaker 4: They've got a serious plane. I mean, you can get
- 0:29Speaker 4: a private jet, you know, smaller one, bigger one. They've
- 0:31Speaker 4: got a real serious one, a Bombardier Global Express XRS
- 0:36Speaker 4: luxury long-range business jet. That's a serious plane. That's $ 12, 000
- 0:42Speaker 4: an hour. Figure 10 hours for this flight for the
- 0:47Speaker 4: time to pick them up, drop them off, and get
- 0:50Speaker 4: rid of them. So 10 hours, that's $ 120, 000 for the flight,
- 0:52Speaker 4: but they took... the whole family, the dogs, everything they took, uh,
- 0:58Speaker 4: they have their own private security. What the hell is
- 1:01Speaker 4: going to bother them? They got their own private security
- 1:04Speaker 4: because the Royal family, uh, has kind of disowned them,
- 1:07Speaker 4: will not provide any security for them. They landed in Birmingham, England.
- 1:13Speaker 4: They're calling it an extended stay. They're not saying they're
- 1:16Speaker 4: moving there. They're saying it's an extended stay, uh, Now,
- 1:21Speaker 4: the reason they're saying that is these two idiots couldn't
- 1:24Speaker 4: find any work here in this country. It started off
- 1:26Speaker 4: okay with a big Netflix deal, a big podcast deal,
- 1:31Speaker 4: and then everything bombed. And suddenly there was no work
- 1:35Speaker 4: for them in the last couple of years. They couldn't
- 1:37Speaker 4: get a job doing anything. So they'll go back to England.
- 1:41Speaker 4: They'll try to get something going there. They'll see if
- 1:43Speaker 4: they can make some money or get a show or
- 1:46Speaker 4: get a podcast, get something going. And if they can't
- 1:50Speaker 4: get anything over there, then they'll come back. That's why
- 1:53Speaker 4: they're not saying they're moving there. They're saying it's an
- 1:55Speaker 4: extended visit. That way, if they bomb out completely, it
- 1:59Speaker 4: won't look so bad when they leave. But these are
- 2:01Speaker 4: two of the most useless idiots in the world. And
- 2:06Speaker 4: you've got to remember, when you do a podcast, it
- 2:08Speaker 4: can really expose you because you have to speak at
- 2:13Speaker 4: great length and you've got to do a number of episodes.
- 2:15Speaker 4: People really get to hear, does this person know anything?
- 2:18Speaker 4: Do they have anything to say? You know, Michelle Obama,
- 2:21Speaker 4: for instance, if you didn't know her, if you just
- 2:22Speaker 4: looked at her, she looked quite regal. She looked like
- 2:24Speaker 4: a very impressive woman, always beautifully dressed, tall and regal. And,
- 2:31Speaker 4: you know, you just read about her background and how
- 2:35Speaker 4: educated and she was this, she was that. And she
- 2:37Speaker 4: looked very impressive. Then if you start listening to the podcast,
- 2:41Speaker 4: you realize this is an empty headed yo-yo with nothing
- 2:44Speaker 4: to say. Remember that podcast of her and her brother
- 2:47Speaker 4: talking for an hour? You listen to her for an
- 2:49Speaker 4: hour and you realize this woman's got nothing going on,
- 2:52Speaker 4: nothing to say, nothing to talk about, no personality, no substance.
- 2:57Speaker 4: And the podcast didn't last that long, but it was
- 3:00Speaker 4: just awful. I remember recently she had to start again
- 3:04Speaker 4: with Barack Obama because he was a quick talker, smooth talker,
- 3:08Speaker 4: a little more substance to him. So same problem with
- 3:12Speaker 4: Harry and Meghan. The prince, Prince Harry. And then you
- 3:17Speaker 4: listen to him. He's just a moron. He's got nothing
- 3:20Speaker 4: to say. She was pretty good in the show Suits.
- 3:22Speaker 4: If you watch that show, I love that show. She's
- 3:25Speaker 4: pretty good in that role. I mean, she was like
- 3:27Speaker 4: 15th billing in the show, but she was pretty good.
- 3:30Speaker 4: But then when you listen to her talk, a complete
- 3:32Speaker 4: idiot with nothing to say, nothing going on, no substance
- 3:36Speaker 4: to either of them. So that was the end of it.
- 3:38Speaker 4: So Dolly Parton, wow. That was quite a blow to
- 3:44Speaker 4: the nation. She was one of the very, very, very
- 3:47Speaker 4: few celebrities. It's the shortest list in the world of
- 3:49Speaker 4: celebrities that were exactly the same on the air and
- 3:53Speaker 4: off the air. Exactly the same. Everybody loved them. Nobody
- 3:59Speaker 4: had a bad thing to say about them. Nobody anywhere
- 4:02Speaker 4: who knew them, ever worked with them, could think of
- 4:03Speaker 4: anything bad to say about Dolly Parton. Wonderful person. Grew
- 4:07Speaker 4: up in a one-room cabin. It's one of the great
- 4:10Speaker 4: American stories. It's one of the great success stories. Not
- 4:15Speaker 4: only incredible musical talent, all of that, acting, everything, but
- 4:21Speaker 4: a great, generous philanthropist, shrewd, smart businesswoman. And she was
- 4:27Speaker 4: known for the rhinestones and the crazy get-ups and all
- 4:30Speaker 4: of that. But her nephew, who spoke to the public
- 4:34Speaker 4: to explain the whole thing, This is quite a touching moment.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Dolly called me and said she wants to rest in
- 4:40Speaker 2: a beautiful bed of plush cotton because after a life
- 4:42Speaker 2: wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserves to be comfortable and
- 4:46Speaker 2: have some rest.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Wow.
- 4:48Speaker 4: So she also wants a very, very private funeral, just
- 4:52Speaker 4: the family, just close friends. This is someone in her family.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Our daughters have grown up with 120 books, right? Five
- 5:00Speaker 5: years worth of a book a month each from Dolly
- 5:03Speaker 5: Parton's Imagination Library. And now every child who is in
- 5:07Speaker 5: one of the child care centers in our city will
- 5:09Speaker 5: get that same experience. And it's just an extraordinary impact
- 5:13Speaker 5: to have.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Okay, Ronca, that's not Dolly's family. But that's another important point.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Younger generations, you know, her great fame was in the
- 5:21Speaker 4: 80s and 90s, but younger people loved, loved Dolly Parton,
- 5:26Speaker 4: loved Dolly Parton. The songs, the music, younger kids, kids
- 5:30Speaker 4: know those songs. They really took to them. And the
- 5:32Speaker 4: movie Nine to Five, one of the great movies. If
- 5:36Speaker 4: you haven't seen, go back and watch Nine to Five.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Phenomenal film with the evil boss harassing the women. And
- 5:43Speaker 4: one of the greatest lines in movie history. is in
- 5:46Speaker 4: that movie, Dolly Parton said to the evil boss who
- 5:48Speaker 4: was always harassing them.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Look, I got a gun out there in my purse.
- 5:51Speaker 3: And up to now, I've been forgiving and forgetting because
- 5:54Speaker 3: of the way I was brought up. But I'll tell
- 5:55Speaker 3: you one thing.
- 5:56Speaker 2: If you ever say another.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Word about me or make another indecent proposal, I'm going
- 6:00Speaker 3: to get that gun of mine and I'm going to
- 6:02Speaker 3: change you from a rooster to.
- 6:03Speaker 4: A hen with one shot. Dolly Parton, just beloved. So
- 6:09Speaker 4: President Trump was a huge Dolly Parton fan. Flags at half-mast.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Every government building in America, federal government building. And there'll
- 6:18Speaker 4: be some kind of big tribute coming to her in Washington.
- 6:21Speaker 4: The president will make sure that her legacy, well, and
- 6:25Speaker 4: she talked a lot about that.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Do you ever think about what you'd want your legacy
- 6:29Speaker 1: to be?
- 6:30Speaker 3: There's a lot of wonderful things that's happened to me.
- 6:32Speaker 3: One of the things I'm proudest of is the Imagination Library. But,
- 6:36Speaker 3: of course, I'm a writer and a singer, and I'm
- 6:39Speaker 3: in both Songwriter Hall of Fame, you know, the big one,
- 6:43Speaker 3: the country music, and the other one up there with
- 6:45Speaker 3: the big guys. I'm just trying to leave as much stuff.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I just want to see how much I can do
- 6:49Speaker 3: in a lifetime. And I've been blessed and I've been
- 6:52Speaker 3: lucky and I don't take any of that for granted.
- 6:54Speaker 3: But I just wanted to be remembered well.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, we know she's a great singer. But don't forget, great,
- 7:00Speaker 4: great songwriter. Listen to the, this is, she was a
- 7:03Speaker 4: very young kid and she wrote her very first song.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Little tiny tassel top, I love you an awful lot.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Corn silk hair.
- 7:10Speaker 3: And big brown eyes, how you make me smile. Little
- 7:13Speaker 3: tiny tassel top, you're the only friend I got.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Hope you never go away.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I want you to stay.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yeah, she started very young. She was like about 14,
- 7:25Speaker 4: first sang publicly. And then I think she was like 16, 17,
- 7:28Speaker 4: went to the Grand Ole Opry. And remember, she teamed
- 7:30Speaker 4: up with Porter Wagner, took her under his wing and
- 7:35Speaker 4: launched that career very, very early. Hey, big night for
- 7:39Speaker 4: Trump world last night. A lot of victories all over
- 7:43Speaker 4: the country. The big one was Darlene Graham because there
- 7:47Speaker 4: had been some doubt whether she could win, but she
- 7:49Speaker 4: certainly did. Big victory. Darlene Graham won in South Carolina,
- 7:55Speaker 4: beating Norman, who was the longtime Republican, been there for
- 8:00Speaker 4: 20 years. And she kept saying, you know, I do
- 8:03Speaker 4: more in 20 days than he did in 20 years.
- 8:05Speaker 4: And he got wiped. Another problem, he had Nikki Haley
- 8:09Speaker 4: backing him, who everybody hates behind the scenes. One of
- 8:12Speaker 4: the nastiest, most awful people you'll ever meet. but the
- 8:16Speaker 4: fact that she backed him did not help. President Trump
- 8:20Speaker 4: came to South Carolina, big campaign rally, put a lot
- 8:24Speaker 4: of money, almost a million dollars in down there, and
- 8:27Speaker 4: this is getting ready for the midterms. It's very important
- 8:30Speaker 4: when the Trump people, the RNC, when they go into
- 8:33Speaker 4: a local primary race, they start testing out everything, like
- 8:36Speaker 4: how they're going to work a phone bank, what they'll
- 8:39Speaker 4: send out, what kind of mailings they'll do, what kind
- 8:42Speaker 4: of social media they'll do. What kind of door knocking?
- 8:45Speaker 4: So they test out everything, road test it, and see
- 8:49Speaker 4: what works, what doesn't. And that gets them ready for
- 8:51Speaker 4: the midterms. But big victory for Darlene Graham last night.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Mr.
- 8:54Speaker 2: President, Lindsey truly loved you and viewed you as one
- 8:58Speaker 2: of his closest friends. I appreciate that bond and appreciate
- 9:03Speaker 2: all that you've done for our country. Our victory would
- 9:06Speaker 2: not have been possible without you.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a big night. Hey, there was one exception,
- 9:11Speaker 4: except this was in Oklahoma. And it was on the
- 9:14Speaker 4: Democratic side. This is a Democratic primary, so it still
- 9:16Speaker 4: doesn't mean much, but the crazy Trump hater, the radical
- 9:20Speaker 4: nutjob Democrat won in Oklahoma. Now, it's a red state,
- 9:26Speaker 4: so she's going to go nowhere, but it's Nikilia Jasmine Thomas.
- 9:31Speaker 4: She's a nurse, and she's yelling and screaming about she's
- 9:33Speaker 4: going to impeach Trump. For what? She doesn't know. It
- 9:36Speaker 4: doesn't matter. She's going to impeach Trump. So she did
- 9:39Speaker 4: win the Democratic primary, but again, It's Oklahoma. She will
- 9:42Speaker 4: not win the general. So, hey, Mayor Mamdani, let me
- 9:47Speaker 4: just reassure you again. The good thing is whatever he
- 9:49Speaker 4: talks about, whether it's free buses, whether it's government grocery
- 9:54Speaker 4: stores or whatever he talks about, it's never going to happen.
- 9:56Speaker 4: This guy never gets anything done, doesn't accomplish anything.
- 10:00Speaker 6: Anything.
- 10:00Speaker 4: You'll never see one of these grocery stores. The pied-à-terre
- 10:03Speaker 4: tax is probably never going to happen. In fact, remember
- 10:09Speaker 4: he announced the deadline is August 12th. That's it. Then
- 10:13Speaker 4: they had to change the deadline. Well, it's okay. It's
- 10:15Speaker 4: September 12th. Well, the They just changed it again. Now
- 10:18Speaker 4: it's October 6th. They keep moving the deadline. You'll never
- 10:21Speaker 4: see this pied-a-terre tax. Now there's... Remember they sent out
- 10:27Speaker 4: the mailings? They sent out 17,000 letters. You're getting a pied-a-terre. Well, 1,200.
- 10:33Speaker 4: They admit now. This is Mamdani admitting 1,200 were mistakes.
- 10:37Speaker 4: That's a lot of mistakes, 1,200. 5,500 are appealing letters.
- 10:44Speaker 4: And 2,500 have been granted a victory. So 2,500, oh,
- 10:50Speaker 4: excuse me, 2,900. So let's say 3,000. So 1,200 who
- 10:54Speaker 4: were notified by mistake. 3,000 won their appeal. They're not pied-a-terre.
- 10:59Speaker 4: And another 11,000 people have filed applications for exemptions. So
- 11:07Speaker 4: they sent out 17,000 letters. If you do the math
- 11:09Speaker 4: real fast, it sounds like 16,000 of them. We're not pied-a-terre,
- 11:14Speaker 4: and they're going to get the exemption. So the whole
- 11:18Speaker 4: thing is ridiculous. You'll never see this pied-a-terre tax. You'll never,
- 11:21Speaker 4: ever live to see it. You'll never see a government
- 11:24Speaker 4: grocery store. That's the good thing about Mom Donnie. Who's
- 11:29Speaker 4: going to be mayor? He's up in three years. Who's
- 11:33Speaker 4: going to run for mayor? Now, of course, everybody thinks
- 11:35Speaker 4: Jessica Tisch will run. She's a possibility. Seems like a
- 11:40Speaker 4: common sense, you know, good person. She's not... the most experienced,
- 11:44Speaker 4: and she's been the police commissioner now for two years.
- 11:48Speaker 4: She's not that well liked within the police department, but
- 11:52Speaker 4: she'd be a good mayor. And then who else will run? Now,
- 11:56Speaker 4: John Schell was a big part of the NYPD. He
- 12:00Speaker 4: was the highest ranking uniform officer, chief of patrol. That's
- 12:03Speaker 4: a big job. Schell's a very good guy, nice guy,
- 12:06Speaker 4: sharp guy. He wants to run for mayor. And if
- 12:10Speaker 4: you need a top law enforcement guy, well, he'd be great.
- 12:14Speaker 4: John Schell, already talking about it publicly.
- 12:16Speaker 6: I'm a kid from Brooklyn. That's what every other kid did.
- 12:19Speaker 6: I joined the police department.
- 12:21Speaker 4: 32 years.
- 12:22Speaker 6: I know the city very well.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I gave it all for the city.
- 12:25Speaker 6: I actually ran something. And I know what New York
- 12:28Speaker 6: City is all about and what they want and what
- 12:30Speaker 6: they expect. And I can tell you what they don't expect.
- 12:33Speaker 4: It's socialism.
- 12:34Speaker 6: This doesn't work. It won't work. Nothing is free in
- 12:37Speaker 6: this world. Everybody pays.
- 12:39Speaker 4: So keep an eye on this guy, John Schell. Obviously,
- 12:42Speaker 4: obviously law enforcement credentials. But remember, chief of patrol, it's
- 12:45Speaker 4: a big management job. So he's got management experience. And
- 12:49Speaker 4: you recall, especially before Jessica Tisch, he was the guy
- 12:53Speaker 4: that was always on television representing the police department. And
- 12:57Speaker 4: so good on TV. So keep an eye on Schell.
- 12:59Speaker 6: We have to take a look at this ballooning budget
- 13:03Speaker 6: of $ 126 billion. And the next three years under this
- 13:06Speaker 6: mayor will be an additional $ 22 billion in the hole.
- 13:12Speaker 6: So you've got to look at what we're spending, how
- 13:14Speaker 6: we're spending it, line by line, and make those adjustments.
- 13:17Speaker 6: Cut out the fat, cut out the waste. It's good
- 13:20Speaker 6: to be benevolent and give people a break who need it,
- 13:23Speaker 6: but you've got to take a look at all that
- 13:24Speaker 6: before you can spend any money and then see what's
- 13:27Speaker 6: actually coming in and going out.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Hey, 2 o'clock today, a big press conference. Keep an
- 13:32Speaker 4: eye on this. Bruce Blakeman will have a press conference
- 13:34Speaker 4: at 2 o'clock. Blakeman is going to talk about Hochul
- 13:38Speaker 4: Crazy Kathy Hochul and her legislature, they passed this law
- 13:43Speaker 4: that you're not allowed to cooperate with ICE. Local police
- 13:46Speaker 4: cannot cooperate with ICE. I know it sounds ridiculous. Obviously,
- 13:49Speaker 4: FBI comes in, any major law enforcement agency. Of course
- 13:53Speaker 4: you would cooperate with them. She doesn't want any cooperation.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Blakeman has been very good at cooperating with ICE. That's
- 13:59Speaker 4: why in Long Island, he's got the lowest crime rate.
- 14:02Speaker 4: That's why in Long Island, ICE is operating with no incidents.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Everything's smooth there. But Hochul, listen to her.
- 14:09Speaker 7: Local police will assist ICE only if a real crime
- 14:13Speaker 7: has been committed.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Now, this is the problem with this, Dunce. Breaking into
- 14:18Speaker 4: the country, illegal immigration, that's a real crime, a very
- 14:22Speaker 4: real crime.
- 14:23Speaker 7: But on civil immigration matters, ICE is on their own.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Let me be clear.
- 14:30Speaker 7: Any police department or sheriff's office that disobeys this law,
- 14:35Speaker 7: that maintains any agreement with ICE... We'll face legal action.
- 14:39Speaker 3: What?
- 14:41Speaker 4: You cooperate with a major law enforcement agency, you're going
- 14:43Speaker 4: to get legal action against you? This, she's trying to
- 14:47Speaker 4: play to the Mamdani crowd. She's not that skilled a
- 14:51Speaker 4: politician to try to walk this fine line, but she's
- 14:54Speaker 4: trying to play to the Mamdani crowd. You're going to
- 14:56Speaker 4: see this used against her in commercials. in social media,
- 14:59Speaker 4: especially upstate where they want ICE. They love that stuff.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Blakeman responded.
- 15:03Speaker 8: We have the most comprehensive agreement with ICE in the
- 15:06Speaker 8: United States. I've dedicated 50 jail cells to ICE and
- 15:10Speaker 8: I've dedicated 10 detectives from our Nassau County Police Department
- 15:13Speaker 8: to ICE. And we're doing it because we want to
- 15:16Speaker 8: make our community safer. And we've done that. We have
- 15:19Speaker 8: the safest county in America, according to U.S. News &
- 15:21Speaker 8: World Report.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Now, Blakeman cannot lose this argument because what he's doing
- 15:25Speaker 4: It's common sense. It's logical. Listen to her respond.
- 15:29Speaker 7: I expect him, like everybody else in this state, to
- 15:31Speaker 7: follow the laws of New York. And there are consequences
- 15:34Speaker 7: if you do not. And again, someone like that will
- 15:39Speaker 7: intentionally misrepresent, which is a nice way of saying lie,
- 15:42Speaker 7: about what we're actually talking about. Because we are not
- 15:49Speaker 7: disallowing cooperation with local law enforcement when it comes to crimes.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Yeah, but again, the problem is illegal immigration, illegal breaking
- 15:59Speaker 4: into the country is a crime. And remember, right now,
- 16:02Speaker 4: ICE is just focusing on actual criminals that have been robbing, raping, looting,
- 16:07Speaker 4: murdering gang members. So she's going to lose this argument.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Blakeman can't lose this because everything he's saying is just logic,
- 16:13Speaker 4: common sense, rational. So watch for this press conference, 2
- 16:17Speaker 4: o'clock today. Hey, we'll take some calls in a moment.
- 16:19Speaker 4: 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 16:24Speaker 1: 800-321-0710. No.
- 16:25Speaker 4: The Mark Simone Show. Nine till noon weekdays.
- 16:32Speaker 9: More Mark.
- 16:35Speaker 1: 710WOR.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Well, hey, some sad news. Marion Scotto has passed away.
- 16:42Speaker 4: She's the mother of Rosanna Scotto. And if you've been
- 16:44Speaker 4: to their great restaurant, Fresco, on 52nd Street, Fresco, that
- 16:49Speaker 4: was always Marion Scotto sitting there at the front at
- 16:52Speaker 4: the desk when you walked in. passed away. It's a
- 16:55Speaker 4: wonderful woman. Let's take some calls. Let's go to Stuart
- 16:59Speaker 4: in South Carolina. Stuart, how you doing?
- 17:02Speaker 1: Hey, Mark, how are you?
- 17:04Speaker 10: Yesterday in that election with Darlene Graham Norton, she's not
- 17:09Speaker 10: Darlene Graham, we had 12.5% participation, basically. Norman took the
- 17:18Speaker 10: upper part of the state, and Graham took the rest
- 17:20Speaker 10: of the state. South Carolina is solidly Trump uh, a
- 17:24Speaker 10: Trump state. And this election was basically emotional, I believe.
- 17:29Speaker 1: So, you know, I, she's.
- 17:31Speaker 10: Going to win. So we're going to have another one
- 17:33Speaker 10: for six years with Graham. You know, I'm just hoping
- 17:36Speaker 10: for the best. If you had seen the, uh, the debate,
- 17:40Speaker 10: I mean, she did really poorly.
- 17:42Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 4: But what was so great about that? Uh, Ralph Norman,
- 17:46Speaker 4: you know, it, it.
- 17:47Speaker 10: Wasn't, I didn't vote for Norman, uh, For Norman, I
- 17:50Speaker 10: voted for Norman because I didn't want Graham in there
- 17:54Speaker 10: because she basically has no experience. She doesn't, like I said,
- 17:57Speaker 10: with the debate, it was just awful.
- 17:59Speaker 1: It was awful. So putting her.
- 18:01Speaker 10: In there was basically an emotional decision on the part
- 18:05Speaker 10: of many people.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Yeah, but you know, I'll just have to remember, when
- 18:09Speaker 4: you talk to these longtime senators, whether it's Schumer, whether
- 18:12Speaker 4: it's Hakeem Jeffries, when it comes to foreign policy or
- 18:14Speaker 4: any of these things, they don't know anything either. I mean,
- 18:16Speaker 4: they sound better and they talk like they do. But
- 18:18Speaker 4: they don't know a damn thing about anything.
- 18:21Speaker 10: You know, the one thing, we don't have 50 million
- 18:23Speaker 10: people in South Carolina. We have 5 million people. It's just,
- 18:28Speaker 10: if you know South Carolina politics, Mark, we had actually
- 18:31Speaker 10: been trying to get rid of Graham for a couple
- 18:32Speaker 10: of decades.
- 18:33Speaker 1: And he would do things that were fantastic. Absolutely.
- 18:36Speaker 10: Now, during Trump time, he's been great with the Kavanaugh hearings.
- 18:39Speaker 10: He was absolutely fantastic. But there's so many things he
- 18:43Speaker 10: did that would just infuriated us. And I'm just thinking,
- 18:47Speaker 10: here we go again. You know, is she going to
- 18:49Speaker 10: vote for Democrat judges?
- 18:51Speaker 4: Actually, people that know both of them well say that
- 18:54Speaker 4: the good news is Darlene Graham is a rock solid conservative.
- 18:57Speaker 4: She'll vote correctly on everything. Unlike Lindsey Graham, who, as
- 19:00Speaker 4: you say, could make some left turns now.
- 19:02Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 19:03Speaker 10: Well, if that is true, Mark, I will support her
- 19:06Speaker 10: 100 percent. I absolutely will. So I'm just really hoping
- 19:10Speaker 10: for the best. So, I mean, she's going to solidly
- 19:13Speaker 10: win in this state. We are still a red state,
- 19:15Speaker 10: and we are still solidly Trump. So she's going to
- 19:17Speaker 10: do well.
- 19:17Speaker 4: All right. Well, you'll be happy. Stuart, thanks for calling.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Great call. Let's go to Kay in Manhattan. Kay, how
- 19:24Speaker 4: are you doing?
- 19:26Speaker 11: Hello, Mark. I'm doing well. Thank you. I'd like to
- 19:30Speaker 11: talk about this Abdul El-Sayed. I was very disturbed by
- 19:39Speaker 11: the interview he had with Jesse Waters because I felt
- 19:42Speaker 11: people came away with it with kind of a ha-ha attitude.
- 19:47Speaker 11: And he asked Jesse about, I mean. I think the
- 19:51Speaker 11: name is Snake. I think he's really dangerous. And I mean,
- 19:59Speaker 11: it's just evil to support castration of children. and then
- 20:03Speaker 11: compare it to circumcision.
- 20:06Speaker 4: I know. That was the stupidest thing. He claimed circumcision
- 20:09Speaker 4: was the same thing as gender-altering surgery. Circumcision is like
- 20:13Speaker 4: a manicure as opposed to amputation. There's a big difference.
- 20:19Speaker 4: You're right. He is just awful. I don't think he'll win, Kay.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Don't worry. Don't worry. He's not going to win. Michigan
- 20:25Speaker 4: won't vote for him.
- 20:26Speaker 11: I hope not. His thing about comparing... uh sharia law
- 20:31Speaker 11: it's a canon law in the church.
- 20:33Speaker 4: In the catholic church that's nuts well they're all nuts
- 20:37Speaker 4: these socialists that's what they believe don't worry hey i'm
- 20:40Speaker 4: from michigan i'm telling you he will not win michigan
- 20:42Speaker 4: he'll win dearborn he'll win ann arbor that's it he
- 20:45Speaker 4: won't win the rest of michigan don't worry okay thanks
- 20:48Speaker 4: for calling uh let's go to let's go to vincent
- 20:52Speaker 4: in brooklyn vincent how you doing.
- 20:54Speaker 9: Good morning mark mark i'm okay Mark, yesterday you were
- 20:57Speaker 9: spot on when you mentioned the fact with Bill O'Reilly
- 21:00Speaker 9: that Kathy Hochul gave the Public Service Commission, which she
- 21:06Speaker 9: has all her cronies on there, and they green-lighted 12
- 21:10Speaker 9: rate increases for Con Edison. In the past, because I
- 21:16Speaker 9: get the property... I get the class of buildings and
- 21:21Speaker 9: the property taxes that they're going to have, like commercial
- 21:25Speaker 9: real estate, corporations, it's usually 12% a year. So I
- 21:29Speaker 9: was saying to myself, how does the corporations and the
- 21:36Speaker 9: utility companies... justify these rate increases. Well, I didn't realize
- 21:42Speaker 9: what you said yesterday. Kathy Hochul raises the property taxes
- 21:47Speaker 9: on all these corporations like the utility companies, but then
- 21:52Speaker 9: with a wink and a nod, she says, don't worry
- 21:54Speaker 9: about it. You're going to make the deficit up because
- 21:57Speaker 9: I'm going to give you 12 rate hikes during the
- 21:59Speaker 9: course of my tenure.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Now, when it comes to increasing your electric bill, let's
- 22:04Speaker 4: give Andrew Cuomo the credit he deserves. He closed Indian Point.
- 22:08Speaker 4: That drove everybody's electric bill through the roof.
- 22:13Speaker 9: But you really made it clear yesterday because it took
- 22:17Speaker 9: me a while. I said to myself, because every year
- 22:20Speaker 9: the Department of Finance sends you the building classes and
- 22:26Speaker 9: what their property tax rates are going to be. And
- 22:30Speaker 9: you look at the utility companies, it's usually like 12%.
- 22:33Speaker 9: And I said to myself, oh, that's why our bills
- 22:37Speaker 9: are going up. Little did I know it was a
- 22:39Speaker 9: wink and a nod between the Public Service Commission, Kathy Hochul,
- 22:43Speaker 9: and the utility companies.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Yeah, she's not good. And any issue, she stinks on
- 22:48Speaker 4: every single issue.
- 22:49Speaker 9: 12 rate increases.
- 22:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 4: All right. Well, great, great call. Thanks for calling, Vincent.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Take care. When we come back, Ann Coulter will be
- 22:57Speaker 4: with us next. Lots to talk to her about, and
- 23:00Speaker 4: we'll get to that in just a moment. Mark Simone here,
- 23:03Speaker 4: 9 to noon now, every morning on 710WOR.
- 23:07Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Well, Ann Coulter, the best-selling author, the great columnist, and
- 23:18Speaker 4: you're watching her Rumble channel, all good stuff on Rumble.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Ann Coulter's got her own channel there. And, of course,
- 23:23Speaker 4: follow her on Twitter. And Substack, sign up for Substack.
- 23:27Speaker 4: You can get interviews and podcasts and videos and all
- 23:29Speaker 4: sorts of stuff there. AnnCoulter.substack.com. Ann Coulter, how you doing? Fantastic.
- 23:37Speaker 1: How are you, Mark Simone?
- 23:38Speaker 4: I'm good. Last night, good night for the Republicans. A
- 23:43Speaker 4: lot of good victories, don't you think?
- 23:47Speaker 1: I didn't see what happened in North Carolina.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Oh, she just woke up.
- 23:52Speaker 1: South Carolina.
- 23:53Speaker 4: South Carolina. Darlene Graham won. Won big.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 23:59Speaker 4: You're not a fan now.
- 24:01Speaker 1: She really won big. It wasn't, you know, a profusion
- 24:05Speaker 1: of choices there, embarrassment of riches. Neither of them were
- 24:10Speaker 1: that great, but, man.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Well.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I'm against this sister of, wife of, you know, run
- 24:18Speaker 1: a campaign. Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Well, the good news is she'll vote conservatively on every issue,
- 24:23Speaker 4: unlike Lindsey Graham, who would go either way. You never
- 24:25Speaker 4: know what he would do.
- 24:26Speaker 1: That's a good point. Consider who she's replacing.
- 24:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Hey, did you hear our crazy governor, Kathy Hochul, she
- 24:36Speaker 4: and the legislature passed a law that no local police
- 24:39Speaker 4: are allowed to cooperate with ICE. Now, listen to the
- 24:41Speaker 4: first sentence she says here.
- 24:43Speaker 7: Local police will assist ICE only if a real crime
- 24:47Speaker 7: has been committed.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Now, what does that mean?
- 24:53Speaker 1: I love this, that liberals are going to decide what
- 24:55Speaker 1: a real crime is. It's like.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Susan Estridge's book, Real Rape, suggesting that when, you know,
- 25:08Speaker 1: that whole date rape thing that, oh, no, that's just
- 25:10Speaker 1: the same as as a stranger jumping out from behind
- 25:13Speaker 1: the bushes. No, no, that really is. But a crime
- 25:17Speaker 1: is a crime. And ICE isn't wasting its time on,
- 25:20Speaker 1: I don't know, jaywalkers.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Yeah, but if you it is if you broke into
- 25:24Speaker 4: the country illegally and you're here illegally, isn't that a
- 25:27Speaker 4: real crime, too?
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yes, it is.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Yes, it is.
- 25:31Speaker 1: It's one that the American people are quite upset about,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I might add. That's the main crime the voters would
- 25:38Speaker 1: like Trump to be enforcing. You think that's what she means?
- 25:42Speaker 1: Absolutely not to help them enforce just being here illegally?
- 25:46Speaker 4: Yeah, she's saying that's not a real crime. You can
- 25:49Speaker 4: only cooperate on a real crime, just here illegally.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Well, on the other hand, I mean, every state official
- 25:56Speaker 1: in New York doesn't think you know, rape and murder
- 25:59Speaker 1: are real crimes. Well, maybe murder, maybe murder, but muggings,
- 26:05Speaker 1: pushing somebody in front of a subway, harassing people, chasing
- 26:08Speaker 1: them down the sidewalk, breaking and entering, those are all
- 26:12Speaker 1: crap on the wrist crimes. So if we're using Kathy
- 26:15Speaker 1: Hochul's and D.A. Bragg's interpretation of, quote, real crime, it
- 26:21Speaker 1: pretty much comes down to, well, okay, I'll give them
- 26:25Speaker 1: murder and terrorism.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Yeah. And did you watch Al Sayad on TV the
- 26:31Speaker 4: other night talking about how ISIS is running around shooting
- 26:34Speaker 4: people in the face? What was he talking about?
- 26:36Speaker 1: I guess they're really obsessed with the whole Minnesota thing.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I don't think anybody was shot in the face. I
- 26:48Speaker 1: like his comparison of clitorectomies and gender operations poisoning and
- 26:56Speaker 1: mutilating little kids. to simply being circumcised. That was good.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Yeah, well, that's like if the Iranians chop your arm
- 27:05Speaker 4: off and he would say, well, you get a manicure,
- 27:08Speaker 4: don't you? That's the same thing.
- 27:12Speaker 1: That's a very good comparison, yes. Yeah, I don't think
- 27:17Speaker 1: he's doing so well. Though there was a lot of
- 27:21Speaker 1: hope for him among the progressives. I mean, I guess
- 27:23Speaker 1: we'll see. but he seems to be bungling a lot
- 27:27Speaker 1: of things recently.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Yeah. Hey, Ann Coulter, I don't know if you heard this.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Hillary Clinton is speaking at something yesterday, and they asked
- 27:33Speaker 4: her about these Democratic socialists and figuring she'll denounce it.
- 27:37Speaker 4: She didn't. She kind of embraced it. She said, like,
- 27:39Speaker 4: it's a wonderful experiment. What is she embracing that for?
- 27:43Speaker 4: Is she thinking that's going to help her run in 2028?
- 27:45Speaker 4: I get the.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Impression from a lot of these Democrats, it's like, It's
- 27:53Speaker 1: like your parents trying to be cool. They think this
- 27:56Speaker 1: is what the young kids like.
- 27:58Speaker 4: Well, that's kind of what you said.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I don't really get that crazy music they're listening to,
- 28:03Speaker 1: but let's offer them a cocktail and say we want
- 28:06Speaker 1: to smoke some weed. It just seems really sort of embarrassing.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Yeah. So, hey, you wrote this book, Demonic, and we
- 28:18Speaker 4: were talking about this last week at Democrats always have
- 28:21Speaker 4: to find some evil boogeyman and run against that. And
- 28:26Speaker 4: is it now the data centers? You know, they act
- 28:28Speaker 4: like they're nuclear plants or some of these data centers.
- 28:31Speaker 4: We have to live in fear of them.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I am so glad you mentioned that. No, it's really nuts.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I can't get to the bottom of it, but it
- 28:41Speaker 1: seems to me it's based on At least from what
- 28:44Speaker 1: I've read of the history about this. Well, one thing,
- 28:47Speaker 1: and I don't like this on my side, I don't
- 28:49Speaker 1: care if you call it, quote, populism, this hatred of
- 28:52Speaker 1: people who are rich. I'm not rich. I'm not a billionaire.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I'm not a centimillionaire. But I think it's fantastic that
- 29:00Speaker 1: people like Jeff Bezos and even the Google guys. Google's
- 29:05Speaker 1: pretty great. they've done great things to improve all of
- 29:10Speaker 1: our lives. And a lot of it, I think, is envy.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I talked about this on my podcast on Monday. I
- 29:18Speaker 1: also figured out that global warming is all about envy.
- 29:22Speaker 1: They were so happy about all these billionaires' houses around, well, Manchin, Miami, ha, ha, ha,
- 29:28Speaker 1: global warming, they're all going to be underwater. So part
- 29:31Speaker 1: of it, I think, is hate of the rich. But
- 29:33Speaker 1: the other thing is, Some of the AI, you know, founders, promoters,
- 29:40Speaker 1: whether it's to get more investment in their little projects
- 29:46Speaker 1: or just because they want people to find them fascinating
- 29:50Speaker 1: and ask them, no, tell us how AI is going
- 29:53Speaker 1: to destroy humanity. It's absurd, Marc Simone. It's utterly, imposterously absurd.
- 29:59Speaker 1: And I've been running, whoa, we are a long way
- 30:01Speaker 1: off from AI taking over some gigantic chunk of jobs.
- 30:06Speaker 1: They'll take over a bunch of jobs. Well, so did
- 30:08Speaker 1: the internet. So did the computer. I mean, what happened
- 30:12Speaker 1: to travel agents? What happened to journalists? Oh, well, we adjusted.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Would anybody say the internet not made all of our
- 30:19Speaker 1: lives better? And if you look at the capacity of
- 30:22Speaker 1: AI now, I'm always sending these out on my sub stack,
- 30:25Speaker 1: just like basic questions you ask Google AI or Brock,
- 30:29Speaker 1: and they can't find them. I can find them. They
- 30:33Speaker 1: log to you. It's preposterous some of the answers you get.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Yeah. But just the fear of the data center, they
- 30:42Speaker 4: use a lot of electricity. That problem can be solved.
- 30:45Speaker 4: The water, they use too much water?
- 30:46Speaker 1: They don't really, by the way. They tend to generate
- 30:49Speaker 1: their own, and of course they pay for it, but
- 30:52Speaker 1: they do a lot of self-generation. Same thing with the water.
- 30:55Speaker 1: They rerun the water through the same plants. Okay. I mean,
- 31:00Speaker 1: I keep hearing that they're going up right next to,
- 31:03Speaker 1: you know, beautiful farms and farmland. Well, I don't know. Maybe.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I don't think most of them are. And that seems
- 31:11Speaker 1: like kind of an easy solution if it's just a
- 31:14Speaker 1: matter of real estate. Okay, move it to an uglier
- 31:17Speaker 1: industrial part of town.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, well, the only real problem, they do make noise.
- 31:22Speaker 4: There's a low hum. There's a loud hum. There's the
- 31:25Speaker 4: sound of a turbine. But so what? I mean, just
- 31:28Speaker 4: put them somewhere else. But people live near airports.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Exactly. Yes. No, airports, great comparison. Great comparison. Yeah, okay.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Don't put them quite so close. You want them close
- 31:41Speaker 1: because you want your data being stored. And this is
- 31:44Speaker 1: what makes the world go around. I just think all
- 31:47Speaker 1: of these– and I will add this. This is also in– demonic,
- 31:53Speaker 1: I believe it was demonic, that an aspect of this
- 31:56Speaker 1: groupthink and mobthink is a fear of inventions and newness,
- 32:05Speaker 1: as you mostly see with liberals. They want us to
- 32:08Speaker 1: go back to farming like we're in colonial times. We
- 32:13Speaker 1: have to get rid of indoor plumbing and use, what
- 32:18Speaker 1: do they call that? Clivus multrum? And what's a crazy
- 32:23Speaker 1: thing going on in New York where you're supposed to
- 32:25Speaker 1: be composting food from your tiny little Manhattan apartment? I'm
- 32:32Speaker 1: saying that. No, we have things called trash compactors, you
- 32:37Speaker 1: complete idiots. So I'm very much against this hysteria over
- 32:43Speaker 1: progress and innovation. Every innovation, every invention has always been said, oh, humans,
- 32:49Speaker 1: we're going to have nothing to do. It's the end
- 32:51Speaker 1: of humanity. And it's never, ever happened. Going back to
- 32:56Speaker 1: the wheel.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Hey, also, Democrats, one by one, they alienate every part
- 33:00Speaker 4: of their base. They got rid of factory workers who
- 33:02Speaker 4: are now become Republicans. A lot of minorities now supporting
- 33:06Speaker 4: the Republicans. Aren't they alienating the whole Silicon Valley, the
- 33:09Speaker 4: tech guy? They're alienating them. That was their biggest financial backers.
- 33:15Speaker 1: That's a good point. I hope so. I'm always dubious
- 33:19Speaker 1: of a lot of these very wealthy people because so
- 33:24Speaker 1: many of the– and I'm not engaging in the wealth anymore. myself,
- 33:28Speaker 1: you know, good for them for the money. But just
- 33:31Speaker 1: so many rich people are very liberal. And it just
- 33:34Speaker 1: seems to me that, you know, they have everything. They
- 33:37Speaker 1: don't need to make any more money. All they want
- 33:40Speaker 1: is to hang out with actresses. And now how do
- 33:44Speaker 1: you do that? Start denouncing Trump, poor little George Bush
- 33:50Speaker 1: as fascist and the rise of Hitler. And please invite
- 33:54Speaker 1: me to a Hollywood party.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good point. When they make a ton
- 33:57Speaker 4: of money, all they want to do is be on
- 33:59Speaker 4: the radio, be on TV, write a book, be in
- 34:02Speaker 4: the media, hang out with celebrities, do a podcast.
- 34:05Speaker 1: That's so embarrassing.
- 34:09Speaker 4: So, hey, I mentioned before, they don't want Trump's name
- 34:12Speaker 4: on the Kennedy Center. Do you know, if they ever study.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Okay, I don't either, but go ahead.
- 34:18Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying, if they ever study John F. Kennedy...
- 34:21Speaker 4: He was anti-abortion. He was a hawk, a warmonger.
- 34:24Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 4: They would want his name off the building if they
- 34:27Speaker 4: ever knew what he really stood for.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Oh, no, you're absolutely, absolutely right about that.
- 34:33Speaker 9: Yes.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:34Speaker 1: But I don't know that we need to have anything named. Well,
- 34:38Speaker 1: I will say both he and his brother were assassinated.
- 34:42Speaker 1: That has a lot to do with it. And not
- 34:45Speaker 1: just that they're Democratic heroes.
- 34:48Speaker 4: All right, that's true, but you're not a fan of the.
- 34:51Speaker 1: If that's the last building we name after a Democrat,
- 34:54Speaker 1: I'd be very happy.
- 34:56Speaker 4: All right, well, everybody follow Ann Coulter on Twitter. Great
- 35:00Speaker 4: stuff on Twitter. Make sure you follow her on Substack,
- 35:02Speaker 4: because that's where you've got everything going on, Substack, anncoulter.substack.com.
- 35:07Speaker 4: And what do you have coming up on the Rumble channel?
- 35:11Speaker 1: Well, I've been taping them Monday for the past few weeks,
- 35:14Speaker 1: and I did one... Monday, while reviewing my column, a
- 35:17Speaker 1: few things about what's going on in London and England. Flashbacks,
- 35:25Speaker 1: gays up in Providence like the mural of Arena, the
- 35:29Speaker 1: Ukrainian who was murdered, more than the gay mayor does.
- 35:33Speaker 1: It's really appalling. I mean, he didn't make them, but
- 35:36Speaker 1: he started the mayor smiling image. started a groundswell of
- 35:42Speaker 1: taking down the mural of this woman who was murdered. Democrats,

- 36:53Speaker 4: to come to something. She wouldn't go near politicians. There
- 36:57Speaker 4: was a great moment. She was being interviewed on some
- 36:59Speaker 4: show and the guy said, something Trump had done. What
- 37:02Speaker 4: do you think of that? And she said, I am
- 37:04Speaker 4: not going to comment on that. She said, I do
- 37:06Speaker 4: not comment on politics. She said, I learned a long
- 37:09Speaker 4: time ago when it comes to politics, keep your damn
- 37:13Speaker 4: mouth shut if you want to be in show business. Now,
- 37:16Speaker 4: a lot of people could have benefited from that lesson.
- 37:20Speaker 4: She was very smart about that. We'll talk more about
- 37:22Speaker 4: her on tomorrow's show. It's going to be a beautiful day.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Absolutely perfect, beautiful summer weather today. That's not the case
- 37:30Speaker 4: for the rest of the week, so enjoy today. There's
- 37:34Speaker 4: not a lot left of this summer, this week and
- 37:36Speaker 4: next week, and then it's Labor Day. We're out of time.
- 37:39Speaker 4: I'll be back tomorrow. Remember, it's 9 to noon. We
- 37:42Speaker 4: start at 9 a.m.
