- 0:00Speaker 1: The Woody Show, and we embark on another New Hour,
- 0:06Speaker 1: insensitivity training for a politically correct world. I'm Ony at
- 0:11Speaker 1: the helm. There's Greg Gorey Happy New Hour. Would my
- 0:14Speaker 1: trusty right hand Matt Hello.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Sa, Hello, good morning.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I say good day. I said good day. There's a
- 0:20Speaker 1: menace social media director. There's Gina gret.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Good Morrow, Gavna.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We got Sea Bass, we got Sammy Morgan's here. Phones
- 0:28Speaker 1: open eight seven seven forty four. Woodie send us eight
- 0:32Speaker 1: text check in if you'd like over to two two
- 0:34Speaker 1: nine eight seven Jen and grabbed the trending news headlines.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Just one day after Meta was found libel in that
- 0:40Speaker 4: case involving the exploitation of kids in New Mexico that
- 0:43Speaker 4: we talked about. The company now has to pay damages
- 0:45Speaker 4: in another lawsuit in Los Angeles. So in this case
- 0:50Speaker 4: Meta and YouTube, they're going to have to pay a
- 0:52Speaker 4: combined six million dollars to a woman, not the state,
- 0:54Speaker 4: but to a woman who says the platforms were designed
- 0:57Speaker 4: to be addictive. And she claims features like auto scrolling
- 1:00Speaker 4: led to anxiety and depression, body imagicus.
- 1:02Speaker 3: You list goes on and.
- 1:03Speaker 1: On, unpopular opinion. Oh I hope we ate a lign
- 1:07Speaker 1: on this. I want to park it here as well.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Unpopular opinion. I think all these people suing over stuff
- 1:14Speaker 1: like that are ridiculous. Of course, you create a product
- 1:18Speaker 1: or a business service whatever that you want people to
- 1:20Speaker 1: use over and over and over and again. That's the
- 1:22Speaker 1: whole Okay, the fact that you ate all the McDonald's
- 1:26Speaker 1: and became a big giant fat ass, or the fact
- 1:28Speaker 1: that you bought cigarettes and you smoked them till you
- 1:31Speaker 1: got cancer like this is this is not their fault.
- 1:35Speaker 1: A second, this is not their fault. It is not
- 1:39Speaker 1: the gun manufacturer's fault that somebody used that gun to
- 1:42Speaker 1: turn around and shoot somebody with it.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Sometimes it's not their fault that.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And also just you didn't use it for its quote
- 1:50Speaker 1: intended purpose. Of course, they want you to spend more.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Every TV network, every radio station or show, every podcast
- 1:57Speaker 1: wants more and more people to every that real estate.
- 2:01Speaker 5: So it's it's a lot of parents that are behind
- 2:04Speaker 5: this lawsuit insane. This did this to their kids. I'm like,
- 2:08Speaker 5: where were you at there the device. I don't know
- 2:11Speaker 5: if it was this woman, but the one of the
- 2:13Speaker 5: lawsuits was a woman that was suing them because she
- 2:18Speaker 5: was using the platform, and she broke the rules because
- 2:21Speaker 5: she was using it under thirteen years old.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And all right, they have the rules about to sign
- 2:26Speaker 1: up like a for Instagram or whatever. What.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I don't know how long I think they're still Yeah,
- 2:30Speaker 5: I think they still size it with her.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah. So there's another story. Two gamblers in Pennsylvania. They
- 2:35Speaker 1: fought a lawsuit against the NFL DraftKings and fan Duel.
- 2:38Speaker 1: The two plainiffs alledged that an addiction to gambling led
- 2:42Speaker 1: them to lose over two million dollars, and a central
- 2:45Speaker 1: issue in the case concerns micro betting, so where betters
- 2:48Speaker 1: can place wagers on individual plays. It's like, this is
- 2:51Speaker 1: not their fault.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure it did need you to lose two dollars.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Like you can't sue Budwiser, remembercause you're drunk.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I would like to sue the avocado industry.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I can't stop.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yes, sue M and M's gray.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I should suit it too good. I figured you guys
- 3:08Speaker 4: were going to say that I agree. But the thing
- 3:09Speaker 4: I took issue with was she gets a combined six
- 3:13Speaker 4: million dollars. It's not like reform is happening or they're
- 3:16Speaker 4: going to change the way they she just gets a payout.
- 3:19Speaker 5: They say that this will like affect social media in
- 3:22Speaker 5: a big.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Way because now they don't want to keep getting sued.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Anybody can sue them.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Well, Meta agrees and says mental health is complex and
- 3:29Speaker 4: can't be blamed on one app.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Genie and stuff. I think, you know one thing, I
- 3:35Speaker 1: think I really would if I could three wishes, I
- 3:39Speaker 1: think for the better. I would use one of those
- 3:41Speaker 1: wishes for the betterment of man's right too selfishly selfish,
- 3:46Speaker 1: too selfishly, And I'm not sure exactly what I'd use
- 3:48Speaker 1: those for, but I think one and because it would
- 3:51Speaker 1: be interesting to see the effect it would have would
- 3:54Speaker 1: be to make everybody like mind a race and have
- 3:59Speaker 1: it so can never come back to social media all
- 4:03Speaker 1: of it like, have it all go the way it
- 4:06Speaker 1: was and nobody and make it so like nobody would
- 4:09Speaker 1: even have that idea. It would never repopulate our society.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I think about this all the time. Are we in
- 4:16Speaker 4: general the broad scope of the world in history, are
- 4:18Speaker 4: we better off with it? Or would we have been
- 4:20Speaker 4: better off?
- 4:21Speaker 1: There's no way like. Are there benefits? Sure, there's entertainment
- 4:26Speaker 1: some started, But dude, that is I'm with you, it
- 4:31Speaker 1: would be I think it'd be interesting to see. Like
- 4:33Speaker 1: you know, obviously this is not realistic, But what effect
- 4:37Speaker 1: it would have? What would society heal right with certain
- 4:42Speaker 1: things in society? Would it heal would we have less division?
- 4:46Speaker 1: Would people get less absolutely fired up? Would bring the
- 4:49Speaker 1: temperature down a hundred? Would have to write yes.
- 4:53Speaker 4: And it's so funny because the first thing that came
- 4:55Speaker 4: to my mind when you just said that was when
- 4:57Speaker 4: I was in college about seventy two years ag go,
- 5:00Speaker 4: we went to Greece and I had all my pictures
- 5:02Speaker 4: and I will never forget showing my dad pictures of
- 5:04Speaker 4: beautiful landscape, and you go, why aren't you in any
- 5:07Speaker 4: of these? And I said, I don't want to get
- 5:09Speaker 4: in the way of the landscape. Don't you want to
- 5:11Speaker 4: see how beautiful it is? And now, as you know
- 5:13Speaker 4: you like love taking selfies, it's just a different world,
- 5:16Speaker 4: like why would I sully this beautiful picture? Why would
- 5:20Speaker 4: I get in the way of it? And now, of
- 5:22Speaker 4: course none of us think that a wick.
- 5:23Speaker 2: In the lawsuit, she says it gave her body image issues.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You know what else gives you body image issues? Walking
- 5:29Speaker 2: down the hallway? Yeah, can you compare yourself to everybody
- 5:33Speaker 2: all the time. It's not social media? Shut up.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're gonna appeal and there's so much finger pointing.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah huh yeah, nothing is anybody's fault.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Where all the people suing they all kind of look
- 5:44Speaker 5: alike to it's weird they're hot.
- 5:47Speaker 1: This this lawsuit against the NFL and DraftKings, it's I mean,
- 5:52Speaker 1: come on, man.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's weird. I do have a little of
- 5:56Speaker 5: a caveat What do you think about this? Okay, maybe
- 5:59Speaker 5: social media didn't totally disappear right, but the comment section
- 6:03Speaker 5: did now, because that's where a lot of them are
- 6:06Speaker 5: my favorite part. I know it's your favorite part and
- 6:08Speaker 5: the most entertaining, but that's what causes the most friction. Now,
- 6:12Speaker 5: there might be an argument like, well, we do want
- 6:15Speaker 5: social media and all these avenues because then we get
- 6:17Speaker 5: more information than we would because you know, information would
- 6:21Speaker 5: be controlled if we didn't right now, because people wouldn't
- 6:27Speaker 5: have these outlets, and you wouldn't hear about other stories
- 6:30Speaker 5: that you wouldn't be exposed to, and like information you
- 6:33Speaker 5: would be exposed to. I think the comment section is
- 6:37Speaker 5: just but most of what you see on social media
- 6:39Speaker 5: isn't actual fact, it's it's all editorialized.
- 6:43Speaker 1: It's just people spouting off.
- 6:45Speaker 5: You don't think that news is editorialized?
- 6:48Speaker 4: Why weaponize it to a times a billion, which is randoms?
- 6:51Speaker 1: And I know people like they take issue when I
- 6:55Speaker 1: say this, not everybody should have a platform. Yeah, I agree,
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Right, by the way, the
- 7:02Speaker 1: first planeff in this lawsuit against the NFL says he
- 7:06Speaker 1: lost one point eight three millions through the sites. Now
- 7:09Speaker 1: here's a question, president, Can someone who's such a loser
- 7:12Speaker 1: have so much money to lose?
- 7:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good question. Credit though, Yeah, right, he
- 7:16Speaker 3: would be somebody going to break his.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Kneecaps, family money.
- 7:19Speaker 1: The other guy he blew through one hundred and seventy
- 7:21Speaker 1: five thousand. Okay, I can see where maybe you know,
- 7:24Speaker 1: he was able to get that together, but at one
- 7:26Speaker 1: point three million, that's a.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Really good questions like how do you get loans?
- 7:33Speaker 5: Were you to say, yeah, I just want money, Well,
- 7:35Speaker 5: you don't say what you want it for.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Well, because usually you have you have some type of
- 7:39Speaker 1: thing that will you put your house, house, you put
- 7:42Speaker 1: your you know, whatever, you gut stocks you get different
- 7:44Speaker 1: things that you can use right to your house for
- 7:47Speaker 1: a you know, this.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Is a sure thing you never even think to do that.
- 7:52Speaker 6: Well.
- 7:52Speaker 4: MLB Opening Day kicked off with a matchup between the
- 7:55Speaker 4: Yankees and the Giants in San Francisco, and the Yankees
- 7:58Speaker 4: blew them out seven and nothing to five runs in
- 8:00Speaker 4: the second inning.
- 8:01Speaker 3: And while the game itself was you know, kind.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Of whatever, the first ever broadcast on Netflix did have
- 8:06Speaker 4: a couple of bright spots, and fans say that having
- 8:08Speaker 4: Giants legend Barry Bonds on air was a.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Quote breath of fresh air.
- 8:13Speaker 5: They're hanging out, and they actually.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Praised him for admitting that he wasn't the best teammate
- 8:17Speaker 4: off the field, which is nice when somebody will, you.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Know, rising It was pretty funny, man, because a lot
- 8:24Speaker 1: of people, I guess, had never heard Barry Bond speak,
- 8:26Speaker 1: like that's what Barry Bond sounds like, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 8:29Speaker 1: you expect him to have like this, yeah, and he's
- 8:31Speaker 1: kind of like, you know, like anyway voice.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Well, there seems to be no end in sight for
- 8:38Speaker 4: the TSA drama at the airports. Is the government shut
- 8:41Speaker 4: down just keeps going and going. First, the Democrats wanted
- 8:44Speaker 4: a deal that would fund TSA separate from the rest
- 8:47Speaker 4: of homeland security funding. But Republicans said no. But now
- 8:50Speaker 4: it's the Republicans that have a deal on the table
- 8:53Speaker 4: to fund TSA separate from d d HS, and it's
- 8:56Speaker 4: the Democrats who are saying now, so they're all a
- 8:58Speaker 4: bunch of little bitches. Basically, n TSA workers have been quitting,
- 9:02Speaker 4: calling out and record numbers and security delays at the airport.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Now they go, oh, it was two hours. No, it's worse.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I've seen six hours.
- 9:09Speaker 4: And you see these crazy like aerial shots of the
- 9:12Speaker 4: like snaking around like.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Full hallways down the airport, down.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Out to the parking garages and stuff.
- 9:20Speaker 5: I'm I'll just turn around.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Well, it's just interesting because cancel. It starts with one
- 9:25Speaker 1: side saying something and then as soon as the other
- 9:27Speaker 1: person starts to it, then all of a.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Sudden, we don't want it anymore.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, there's such big babies bitches totally. Yeah, drives
- 9:34Speaker 1: me crazy, Sam. There's some Trader Joe's news.
- 9:46Speaker 6: Yes, what tell me?
- 9:47Speaker 1: And Hey tell your mom?
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah, oh I know what it's about.
- 9:53Speaker 1: What there's a new large lavender and pink tote.
- 9:59Speaker 3: I saw it. Oh, they're my appointment.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So Trader Joe's.
- 10:05Speaker 7: I went to Trader Joe's that day, not even really.
- 10:08Speaker 7: I mean I had seen it on the news when
- 10:09Speaker 7: I wasn't thinking about the lavender toe, And when I
- 10:13Speaker 7: got there, I saw the many Easter ones, which I did,
- 10:17Speaker 7: and I'm getting someone and the checkout lady was telling
- 10:21Speaker 7: me about the lavender toats and how they went so
- 10:23Speaker 7: fast in the morning and that.
- 10:25Speaker 1: They actually had people buying something.
- 10:27Speaker 7: It was one per person buying some and then coming
- 10:30Speaker 7: back in disguise.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Here and there like.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Glasses. Do you remember how Sea Bass for steel a Base,
- 10:41Speaker 1: Steel a Taco promotions during the World Series. He would
- 10:44Speaker 1: go into the Taco bells. They were giving away a
- 10:47Speaker 1: free taco if the opposing team stole a base during
- 10:50Speaker 1: the World Series, right, Yeah, And so he would go
- 10:52Speaker 1: in get his free taco as Sea Bass, and then
- 10:56Speaker 1: he would come back. He would dress a business scientists.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Then he come back dresses a dog old lady. Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Now people are going in in disguise.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Like.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Because you could resell those for like five thousand dollars.
- 11:10Speaker 5: A buddy of mine's sister just walked in and they
- 11:13Speaker 5: had them.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Well, I just.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Walked in and got the Mani ones.
- 11:16Speaker 7: And what I noticed with the many ones that my
- 11:18Speaker 7: personal trader Joe's, was they don't have them hanging out
- 11:20Speaker 7: with all the regular bags.
- 11:21Speaker 3: But I'm sure they did with the lavender.
- 11:23Speaker 5: Too as well.
- 11:24Speaker 7: They're in a box kind of like off somewhere else
- 11:27Speaker 7: where like the water and drinks, kind of want it
- 11:30Speaker 7: and with like a sign pointing down to where they are,
- 11:33Speaker 7: but you they make you punt for it.
- 11:35Speaker 3: You have to really want the be riot.
- 11:36Speaker 1: What a world, Greg.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I say this with absolutely all sincerity. Sammy. I've been
- 11:41Speaker 2: kind of rewatching hoarders lately, and you are kind of
- 11:46Speaker 2: entering into that mentality. Because hoarders think they and you
- 11:50Speaker 2: use this word, need this stuff. They find something on sale,
- 11:54Speaker 2: they buy it. It sits in an attic or a
- 11:57Speaker 2: basement for decades and oh well it was a it
- 12:00Speaker 2: was on sale, I needed it. No, you never even
- 12:02Speaker 2: used it. And now every time they make a new
- 12:04Speaker 2: tote bag, you're like, oh, it's so cute, I need it.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I gotta have it.
- 12:08Speaker 2: And next thing you know, you're gonna be a hoarder
- 12:10Speaker 2: with eighty seven.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Because it's sold out.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I know, but you look at the desperation you have
- 12:16Speaker 2: and if you find it, you know you're gonna get it.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So many times you created this for so many different things.
- 12:21Speaker 1: You think about everything about the Stanley craze. Yeah, it's
- 12:24Speaker 1: like they come up with a new color. Oh it's
- 12:27Speaker 1: an exclusive color.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Just because it's targetary popcorn buckets that are like two cents.
- 12:34Speaker 1: People are going crazy for it.
- 12:35Speaker 7: Yeah, I only have like one Stanley per season, though
- 12:38Speaker 7: I don't know nuts I'm.
- 12:42Speaker 6: Of them.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but also you know, then people the same people
- 12:46Speaker 1: will turn around and yes, things are expensive gas and
- 12:49Speaker 1: the things are expensive. But how do you turn around
- 12:53Speaker 1: and then complain about things like that when you are
- 12:55Speaker 1: going out and getting New Trader Joe's totes like a dollar?
- 12:59Speaker 1: Right even were the people who then go online and
- 13:02Speaker 1: buy them from the ebays and crazy for the people
- 13:05Speaker 1: who got them because you absolutely have to have them.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So you pay this premium.
- 13:09Speaker 2: For a tote, you have exempted yourself from complaining about
- 13:14Speaker 2: the cost of anything else.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Greg, I'll make a little argument also for it, because
- 13:19Speaker 5: Ward and I were talking about this the other day.
- 13:21Speaker 5: It's kind of maybe not even about that. It's about
- 13:25Speaker 5: the thrill of the hunt of getting it right now,
- 13:30Speaker 5: that's the disorder. But no, the take out that little
- 13:32Speaker 5: party you say that you actually need it, it's just
- 13:35Speaker 5: the the excitement of trying to find it, and.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It's the thrill of the chase.
- 13:40Speaker 7: Right.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Some people that's how they are in relationships or
- 13:44Speaker 1: with jobs. They they love the idea of like can
- 13:47Speaker 1: I get this job? Can I land this person with
- 13:51Speaker 1: a relationship, And they put all this effort and strategy
- 13:54Speaker 1: and everything else, and the getting is done, and then
- 13:56Speaker 1: once they get they go right the next one. It
- 14:00Speaker 1: was just all about that pursuit.
- 14:01Speaker 4: And yeah, And I think you're right because when my
- 14:04Speaker 4: mom went to Trader Joe's in Kansas and they were
- 14:06Speaker 4: just in a pile.
- 14:07Speaker 3: She's like, do you want any of these?
- 14:08Speaker 5: I was like yeah.
- 14:10Speaker 4: She's like, I mean, okay, and amazing, nobody cares. Oh,
- 14:13Speaker 4: that's what I'm saying.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Like, it wasn't guarded, there wasn't a line. She's like,
- 14:16Speaker 3: do you want these? They're just sitting here and nobody cared.
- 14:19Speaker 7: Yeah, it's definitely not like that here. But I will
- 14:21Speaker 7: say it's also great. They're great gifts, like a you're
- 14:25Speaker 7: gonna make fun of me now, but I was already gift.
- 14:29Speaker 3: I was already buying.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I have plenty of tote bags.
- 14:32Speaker 7: Trader Joe's Easter themed stuff, like the candies and stuff
- 14:37Speaker 7: that they have.
- 14:37Speaker 3: They have the cute little bunnies and is consistent with this.
- 14:40Speaker 7: Yes, so I had already bought some because I'm gonna,
- 14:42Speaker 7: you know, be at my sister's for Easter or whatever
- 14:44Speaker 7: for my parents little Trader Joe's fun Easter stuff, and
- 14:47Speaker 7: I've already been collecting in case they sell out, obviously,
- 14:50Speaker 7: And so then I was there and I had the
- 14:52Speaker 7: many tote bags and it said right on the sign
- 14:54Speaker 7: great for Easter baskets, and I was like, oh my gosh,
- 14:57Speaker 7: they are so gentlemen.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Who are listening as you hear Sammy saying all these things.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You should see the look of judgment on Morgan's face
- 15:03Speaker 1: right now.
- 15:04Speaker 7: Well, so I got the tote bags and now I'll
- 15:06Speaker 7: have all the Little Trader Joe's Eastern you know, candies
- 15:09Speaker 7: in it for them, and it's.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Gonna be so cute. Neat, give us your inner thoughts, Morgan,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm glad.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I'm not in your family.
- 15:15Speaker 6: I wait, well, I did they not get bored with
- 15:18Speaker 6: the same type of gifts all the time, Like there's
- 15:20Speaker 6: no thought that goes into that.
- 15:21Speaker 7: That's I've never gotten them a mini tote bag with
- 15:24Speaker 7: Trader Jose candies in it before.
- 15:25Speaker 5: My thing is I would love to study. I would
- 15:28Speaker 5: love to study on how they convinced everybody like you
- 15:31Speaker 5: need to buy this because it's not like it's a
- 15:34Speaker 5: new thing. They've always had tote.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Bags because it's adorable, because no, no, no no.
- 15:38Speaker 5: But I would love to know the science and the
- 15:39Speaker 5: marketing behind because it was a person that influenced everybody else.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Well, because it wasn't it just they had tote bags, right,
- 15:47Speaker 1: just regular ass tote bags like every store, okay. But
- 15:51Speaker 1: then when they had the mini one, people are like,

- 16:30Speaker 5: make money off this.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Yeah, or if they like it and they're kind of
- 16:34Speaker 4: taste makers, I should be having one.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Hyper consumerism that is that is true because people they
- 16:41Speaker 1: get you get fixated on sure something that doesn't matter.
- 16:45Speaker 2: It doesn't matter if you're getting a good deal. It's
- 16:47Speaker 2: not a good deal if you don't need it.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I read an article about how a lot of brands
- 16:53Speaker 1: are now embracing the ridiculous, like the more ridiculous. Something
- 16:57Speaker 1: sounds like it's a good idea because it gets that attention.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Oh we're doing sure, we're doing pickle flavored beer. Of course,

- 17:56Speaker 3: About the money, get whatever you want, right, Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 4: I just need to know if I will reach basic
- 18:01Speaker 4: bitch singularity if I take a picture of my puppy
- 18:05Speaker 4: in a mini Trader Joe's tote.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, please do Samy's title explode your.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Basic Bitch Richter scale.
- 18:13Speaker 3: It would break for real.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they said, check out the toads on eBay. The
- 18:17Speaker 1: ridiculous price.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Then yeah, it's crazy. It's all manufactured.
- 18:21Speaker 6: Need.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Well, there you go, ladies, gentlemen, the new Trader Joe's
- 18:26Speaker 1: large lavender and pink tote flying off the shelves. You
- 18:30Speaker 1: just you have to have it. You have to.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I mean, it's a matter of need. Do you even
- 18:35Speaker 2: matter as a person if you don't have no and
- 18:37Speaker 2: then can you imagine if they make an extra large one.
- 18:41Speaker 6: This is.
- 18:45Speaker 1: There's another ridiculous lawsuit. Oh yeah, I saw this video
- 18:50Speaker 1: when the guy first did this podcast. It was it
- 18:53Speaker 1: was popping up and I'm like, oh, that's really funny.
- 18:55Speaker 1: He's a comedian.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a comedian.
- 18:58Speaker 4: And this is this guy in Africa who's getting sued
- 19:02Speaker 4: over this joke he made about the lion king and
- 19:04Speaker 4: like it had picked up a lot of steam really fast.
- 19:07Speaker 4: So he joked that the opening lyrics of circleed Life.
- 19:10Speaker 4: You know, I was like, okay, So apparently that translates.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Apparently he said that translates to look, there's a lion.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I have a clip from the podcast. So this is
- 19:21Speaker 1: where this whole thing stems from. That Zimbabwe. That's that's
- 19:25Speaker 1: by the way. A guy's name is learn More, which
- 19:27Speaker 1: I think is pretty learn more. I forget his last name,
- 19:30Speaker 1: but he's from Africa, okay, And so he it was
- 19:34Speaker 1: it was a joke to break it down for the
- 19:36Speaker 1: non Africans about that Zimbabwe. That's Zulus. Can you do that?
- 19:42Speaker 6: I can do it? Do it? Singing like no, you
- 19:49Speaker 6: were way off. All right, all right, yeah, he yo,
- 20:01Speaker 6: do that again.
- 20:01Speaker 1: What does it mean? It means, look there's.
- 20:05Speaker 6: A lion, Oh my god, means that.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Is not what that means.
- 20:14Speaker 5: That's exactly what it means.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Look there's a lion. My god, Look there's a liar.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Oh my god, there's a lion.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Okay, it's a whole time. I thought it was like
- 20:32Speaker 1: this beautiful majestic there's a lion, and they have made
- 20:44Speaker 1: billions of all kids gonna call you.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Well, guess what.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Guess what? He was on stage doing his comedy show,
- 20:53Speaker 1: like the laugh Actor or something like that, and he
- 20:55Speaker 1: got served the lawsuit. You got served paper service from
- 20:58Speaker 1: what well.
- 20:59Speaker 3: From the writer of the song.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Oh, because the writer says it actually means all hail
- 21:05Speaker 4: the King, We all bow in the presence of the king.
- 21:08Speaker 4: So because of that, he's suing the comedian for twenty
- 21:12Speaker 4: seven million dollars, claiming the joke was a malicious depiction
- 21:18Speaker 4: that created a false narrative and is spitting on his
- 21:21Speaker 4: work with continuous mockery and disdain.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Everybody's lost their mind.
- 21:25Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 21:26Speaker 4: So the lawsuit also says the jokes are quote causing
- 21:29Speaker 4: disruption of business relationships and hurting his royalties and the
- 21:34Speaker 4: comic now needs a lawyer and he can't believe this
- 21:37Speaker 4: is happening, Like he can't believe that this guy. And
- 21:40Speaker 4: I saw the interview with the writer and he was crying.
- 21:45Speaker 3: How could he say this?
- 21:46Speaker 1: Like how could he make a joke traumatically? It was vagina?
- 21:50Speaker 5: I think crazy. It is time to retire guys.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yeah, let's get off here. There can't do this. There
- 21:56Speaker 1: was a T shirt I saw years ago. This is
- 21:58Speaker 1: like twenty years ago, and I thought it was funny then.
- 22:01Speaker 1: It is so appropriate now and really true. Stop the planet.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I want to get off the ri ri. I've had
- 22:09Speaker 1: enough time.
- 22:11Speaker 5: I was just listening to our friend Charlotte, me and
- 22:14Speaker 5: the guy, and he was just going off. I just like,
- 22:17Speaker 5: how sarcasm. It's just compst. People have lost their minds, and.
- 22:22Speaker 1: No matter how no matter how wrong you are, people
- 22:26Speaker 1: turn around. I told you about the guy. He broke
- 22:29Speaker 1: one of the main rules in broadcast of like payola plugola,
- 22:33Speaker 1: where you mentioned things on the radio to get things
- 22:35Speaker 1: personally paid for it. You can't do that without disclosing
- 22:38Speaker 1: like oh, I'm receiving a service, right exactly, and Uh,
- 22:41Speaker 1: he got fired for that, which it's completely against the
- 22:44Speaker 1: federal rules. Yeah, and he's turned around and sued for
- 22:48Speaker 1: wrongful termination. But it's rightful, right like, so no matter
- 22:53Speaker 1: how wrong you it's just it's it's a weird it's
- 22:55Speaker 1: a weird world. Man, it's a weird world. All right.
- 22:58Speaker 1: We're going to take a break more what he shows next,
- 23:00Speaker 1: Hang on the wood. He show returns right after these messages.
