Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: This mediated podcast. Welcome to Meat Eater Trivia, the only
- 0:11Speaker 1: game show where conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer
- 0:15Speaker 1: new Athen Today we're joined by special guest Chris Parrish.
- 0:18Speaker 1: In addition to Chris, we also have Steve Brodie, Sean Krane,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Gabby and Logan Dove. Now, Chris, how do you feel
- 0:25Speaker 1: about trivia? Um? Using? Not very good at it? Not
- 0:28Speaker 1: very good? Like and like what like? Like Jeopardy you're
- 0:33Speaker 1: not very good? Trivial pursuit You're not very good? What
- 0:36Speaker 1: what kind of trivia do you can see? I've only
- 0:38Speaker 1: played those ones that are sitting on the table. Are
- 0:41Speaker 1: you know this? This is unique? I think you got
- 0:43Speaker 1: a better chance here. And Logan, I don't believe you've
- 0:45Speaker 1: been on the show before. So tell folks what you
- 0:47Speaker 1: do here at Meat Eater. Yeah, so I work on
- 0:49Speaker 1: the digital product team and then help manage the website
- 0:52Speaker 1: operations for stuff that comes on the website and just
- 0:55Speaker 1: developing features around that. We asked Byron you're that same question,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and uh, we still didn't know what he did after
- 1:02Speaker 1: he answered. Now, if you're not familiar, this is a
- 1:05Speaker 1: ten round quiz show with questions from Meat eaters four
- 1:08Speaker 1: verticals which you're hunting, fishing, conservation, and cooking, and there
- 1:11Speaker 1: is a prize. Meat eater will donate five dollars to
- 1:15Speaker 1: the conservation organization of the winners choosing and for the
- 1:19Speaker 1: stat of the week. This week we're specifically looking at
- 1:23Speaker 1: guest performance. This is data compiled by taking every guest
- 1:27Speaker 1: score from Cam Haynes to Jim Heffelfinger to Michael Waddell
- 1:31Speaker 1: and everyone in between. Our best performing guests have been
- 1:35Speaker 1: Tucker Carlson, Brent West, Dustin Huff and Andrew Zimmern, who
- 1:40Speaker 1: each got five correct answers and on average of one
- 1:45Speaker 1: with five he won with five, he went to overtime
- 1:47Speaker 1: and then he won it that way tough round, and
- 1:51Speaker 1: on average our guests get three point four seven correct answers.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So that's what you're going for today, Chris, is to
- 1:57Speaker 1: beat three point four seven. Our best categories cooking where
- 2:02Speaker 1: they get of answers correct, which is about the equivalent
- 2:06Speaker 1: of Seth who gets forty one percent of cooking questions right,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and their worst categories hunting, where they get twenty eight
- 2:13Speaker 1: percent of answers correct, which is about the equivalent to
- 2:16Speaker 1: Karin who gets of hunting questions. Right, that's kind of
- 2:21Speaker 1: a savage staff. So our guests do best in cooking
- 2:28Speaker 1: and worst in hunting. Now, in a previous game of trivia,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I asked the room what animal lays the biggest egg.
- 2:35Speaker 1: The correct answer was ostrich, but a handful of folks
- 2:38Speaker 1: wrote in to say that whale sharks actually produce eggs
- 2:41Speaker 1: that are twice the size as ostrich eggs. Yeah, but
- 2:47Speaker 1: here's the catch. Whale sharks don't lay eggs like bass
- 2:50Speaker 1: or can't fish or trout. Instead, whale shark eggs hatch
- 2:54Speaker 1: inside the mother's body, which makes them ovova viporous, so
- 2:59Speaker 1: they've never actually laid an egg. Now, if the question
- 3:02Speaker 1: was what animal produces the largest egg, the answer would
- 3:05Speaker 1: be whale shark, But since the question was what animal
- 3:08Speaker 1: lays the largest egg, the answer was ostrich. Like that,
- 3:11Speaker 1: this is why the time, Yeah, I like that clarifications. Also,
- 3:22Speaker 1: in a previous game of trivia, is Steve declared himself
- 3:25Speaker 1: the silent Killer, but a listener wrote in and said
- 3:30Speaker 1: that instead of the silent Killer, it should be the
- 3:33Speaker 1: silence killer because he never shots. We should create a
- 3:41Speaker 1: silence surnamed like the st Yeah. There we go. So
- 3:45Speaker 1: it's not the silent killer anymore. It's the silence killer.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And with that we're on the trivia play the drop, Phil, Look,
- 3:54Speaker 1: I need to know what I stay under wind? Everything
- 4:00Speaker 1: just tend to win everything, suckers. Question one, this will
- 4:12Speaker 1: be multiple choice in the topic is woodsmanship. What outdoor
- 4:17Speaker 1: activity accounts for the most lightning strike victims? Is it fishing, hiking, camping,
- 4:23Speaker 1: or horseback riding? Again? What outdoor activity accounts for the
- 4:29Speaker 1: most lightning strike victims? Your choices are fishing, hiking, camping,
- 4:35Speaker 1: or horseback riding. Some quick confident answers in the room
- 4:41Speaker 1: from who I saw you right pretty quickly, that I
- 4:45Speaker 1: saw to my right here people riding pretty quickly. So
- 4:48Speaker 1: mostly now Again, your choices are fishing, hiking, camping, or
- 4:59Speaker 1: horse back riding. For which outdoor activity accounts for the
- 5:03Speaker 1: most lightning strike victims? Yeah, I don't want to break
- 5:07Speaker 1: the silence here, but please yeah no just in general,
- 5:17Speaker 1: but no, no, no no, the style style? Can we get
- 5:21Speaker 1: new white boards? You think we had the budget for that?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Does everybody have an answer? Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 5:28Speaker 1: We have Steve saying camping, Chris saying fishing, Logan saying hiking,
- 5:32Speaker 1: Brody saying fishing, Sean saying camping, Gabby saying camping, and
- 5:37Speaker 1: Karin saying fishing. The correct answer is fishing, damnit. According
- 5:46Speaker 1: to data from the National Lightning Safety Council, anglers are
- 5:50Speaker 1: the highest risk group for lightning strikes. Of lightning strike
- 5:54Speaker 1: victims doing a leisure activity about fifteen percent, or fishing
- 5:59Speaker 1: eight percent, or hamping four percent, or hiking and two percent.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Read the question again, what outdoor activity accounts for the
- 6:07Speaker 1: most lightning strike victims? Okay? I think you just screwed
- 6:10Speaker 1: up for real this time. You're answering it as you're
- 6:13Speaker 1: answering it as percentages. You're not answering it as total incidents.
- 6:17Speaker 1: You didn't ask percent you didn't say the same. No, No,
- 6:20Speaker 1: it is not it is not way different. No, it's
- 6:22Speaker 1: like you. We had a thousand questions totally with Steve
- 6:24Speaker 1: on this, what outdoor activity accounts for the most lightning
- 6:27Speaker 1: strike victims? It would be like we had a cent No,
- 6:31Speaker 1: you are just wrong, Okay, you are is the number
- 6:36Speaker 1: one that's the top percent. It would be total number
- 6:39Speaker 1: because if there's ten if there's ten million campers and
- 6:43Speaker 1: only fisherman. Percent of what outdoor activity accounts for the
- 6:52Speaker 1: most lightning strike victims, it would be fishermen. No, you
- 6:56Speaker 1: need to go total incidents. You did not give it
- 6:58Speaker 1: at race. You'd given it at race, I would absolutely
- 7:01Speaker 1: upset fishing. I promise you this is correct, because it's
- 7:04Speaker 1: like like if they took a thousand him, he's a scientist.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Let's let's talk this out. Let's talk this out. If
- 7:08Speaker 1: they they had a thousand lightning strike victims and fifteen
- 7:13Speaker 1: percent of them were fishermen, then they were the most
- 7:16Speaker 1: struck group by lightning. No, tell me that outdoor actively
- 7:22Speaker 1: the asterisk here because listen to me, how many sixty
- 7:28Speaker 1: seconds to argue this, How many victims does camping produce?
- 7:34Speaker 1: How many victims is fishing produced? It does not matter
- 7:36Speaker 1: about rate of incident among user groups, how many raw
- 7:40Speaker 1: And no I'm not I'm not saying among user group.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I'm saying of lightning strike victims. Fifteen percent of lightning
- 7:46Speaker 1: strike victims are fishermen. And then you have eight percent
- 7:49Speaker 1: of lightning strike victims are campers, four percent and two
- 7:53Speaker 1: percent are horseback ride out there. It's not of anglers
- 8:09Speaker 1: are struck by lightning it's fiftent of people that are
- 8:11Speaker 1: struck by lightning are Anglish. Question to the topic is
- 8:19Speaker 1: conservation and this is our listener question of the Week,
- 8:21Speaker 1: which was won by George Edson for sending this great question.
- 8:25Speaker 1: George is going to get a meat Eater spice kit
- 8:27Speaker 1: and a meat Eater hats signed by Steve. If you
- 8:30Speaker 1: want a chance to win the Listener Question of the Week,
- 8:32Speaker 1: send your question to Trivia at the meat eater dot com.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Name the state with either the most or least bald
- 8:40Speaker 1: eagles so you can name one of two states here
- 8:45Speaker 1: looking for the state with either the most bald eagles
- 8:48Speaker 1: or the state with the least bald eagles. Very quick
- 8:52Speaker 1: answers in the room. Again, name the state with either
- 8:54Speaker 1: the most or least bald eagles. Chris, you think you
- 8:58Speaker 1: know this one. I'm not confident. It's just like the
- 9:00Speaker 1: little bone you throw people. This is the one. This
- 9:04Speaker 1: is the bone. You're throwing me a bone. Ten of
- 9:09Speaker 1: them each week, every Mountain question that comes along. Does
- 9:12Speaker 1: everybody have an answer? Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 9:16Speaker 1: We have Steve saying Alaska, Chris sang Alaska, Logan saying Florida,
- 9:20Speaker 1: Brody saying Alaska style Alaska, Gabby saying Hawaii saying Florida.
- 9:27Speaker 1: He stayed with the most bald eagles is Alaska, and
- 9:31Speaker 1: he stayed with the least bald eagles is Hawaii. There
- 9:39Speaker 1: are thirty thousand bald eagles in Alaska, while there are
- 9:43Speaker 1: none in Hawaii. After Alaska, these states with the most
- 9:46Speaker 1: bald eagles are Wisconsin, Florida, and Virginia. They got any
- 9:52Speaker 1: big raptors in in Hawaii run questions, but I'm aware
- 9:56Speaker 1: of I should always qualify it that because anytime I'm
- 9:59Speaker 1: dubbed as an ex bert, I was just like, no,
- 10:01Speaker 1: not really, I have experts on our team though. Question
- 10:04Speaker 1: three the topic is cooking. That's Steve's motto as well.
- 10:07Speaker 1: He's not an expert, but he hires experts like me.
- 10:10Speaker 1: The job question through the topic is cooking. The Illinois
- 10:13Speaker 1: Department of Natural Resources rebranded this fish as copy in
- 10:18Speaker 1: an effort to get more people to eat them. Looking
- 10:22Speaker 1: for what the fish used to be known as, and
- 10:24Speaker 1: I'm going to ask you to be specific. The Illinois
- 10:27Speaker 1: Department of Natural Resources rebranded this fish as copy in
- 10:32Speaker 1: an effort to get more people to eat them. Copy
- 10:37Speaker 1: it is c o P. I very quick answer from Brody.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I think it's two for two. I just read this
- 10:45Speaker 1: article the other days hinting it. You know how they
- 10:51Speaker 1: call uh, they like to call chum salmon key to salmon,
- 10:54Speaker 1: now like that kind of thing. How do you spell keta?
- 10:59Speaker 1: The names on the hour and just it's like it's
- 11:05Speaker 1: like Corinthians on Corintha's keta and so whole or dog salmon.
- 11:10Speaker 1: The whole food sells it as key to salmon because
- 11:12Speaker 1: no one wants to buy dog salmon. Does everybody have
- 11:15Speaker 1: an answer for what a copy is? Go ahead and
- 11:18Speaker 1: reveal your answers. We have Steve saying silver carp, Chris
- 11:21Speaker 1: saying carp, Logan saying carp, Brody saying silver carp, Sean
- 11:25Speaker 1: without an answer, Gabby saying snakehead, and Karin saying snakehead.
- 11:30Speaker 1: The correct answers, which there are multiple love, would be
- 11:33Speaker 1: asian carp, silver carp, bighead, carp, black carp, or grass carp.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I am not going to accept carpet for just writing
- 11:39Speaker 1: down It's sure, isn't the common carp. That's why Logan
- 11:47Speaker 1: the room did fairly well. Question for the topic is conservation.
- 11:53Speaker 1: This next great question comes to us from Mary Kordsmeyer.
- 11:56Speaker 1: If you have a question you think is right for
- 11:58Speaker 1: Meat Eater trivia, you can send it to of you
- 12:00Speaker 1: at the meat eater dot com. The Devil's whole pup fish,
- 12:05Speaker 1: which is considered one of the rarest fish in the world,
- 12:09Speaker 1: is only found in one national park. What is it?
- 12:15Speaker 1: The Devil's whole fish, which is considered to be one
- 12:19Speaker 1: of the rarest fish in the world, is only found
- 12:22Speaker 1: in one national park. What is it? I might be wrong, though,
- 12:29Speaker 1: I gotta think I need about Tim mass a quick
- 12:33Speaker 1: answer from Brody, but now questioning because I think it
- 12:37Speaker 1: might be another one. But we are looking for the
- 12:39Speaker 1: national park where the Devil's whole pup fish lives, son
- 12:44Speaker 1: of mother's scratcher. Does everybody have an answer for that?
- 12:52Speaker 1: Cal call Stephen, I let you cheat. You know this one? Chris,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I'm not sure. That's pretty good. Oh,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you got in your mouth. That's why go ahead and
- 13:05Speaker 1: reveal your answers. We got Steve saying Zion, Chris saying death,
- 13:08Speaker 1: Valley Logan sang everyglade, Brody's saying death, Valley Sean saying Yellowstone,
- 13:13Speaker 1: Gabby saying the one in Alaska and Karin saying Grand Canyon.
- 13:18Speaker 1: We have a correct answer in the room and it
- 13:20Speaker 1: is Death Valley. Damn it. Well, kicking my an, I
- 13:26Speaker 1: think they didn't they nail someone from message recently? Party
- 13:30Speaker 1: in there? Well and your emphasis? What what led me?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Is your emphasis? The devil's pup fish? Well, where would
- 13:37Speaker 1: the devil but the Devil's whole punk fish was discovered
- 13:42Speaker 1: in the nineteen thirties, which caused biologists to campaign for
- 13:45Speaker 1: their protection. It was granted in nineteen fifty two when
- 13:48Speaker 1: the Devil's Whole Cavern became part of the Death Valley
- 13:52Speaker 1: National Park, as there were one hundred and seventy five
- 13:56Speaker 1: Devil's Whole pup fish, which is their highest population in
- 14:00Speaker 1: twenty years. You don't when a sports team starts doing
- 14:03Speaker 1: real good, everybody in that town starts liking that sports team. Bandwagon. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 1: fair Weather fans, I need to get to the spar
- 14:08Speaker 1: root for Brody. You'd be a Brody fair Weather fan.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I root for you. I believe it, but I don't wrong.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Question five. We'll get a scoreboard update from Phil after this.
- 14:23Speaker 1: The topic is fishing. What is the more common name
- 14:27Speaker 1: for did emo A highly invasive species that's often spread
- 14:31Speaker 1: by anglers. What is the more common name for did emo?
- 14:38Speaker 1: A highly invasive species it's often spread by anglers. Again,
- 14:42Speaker 1: we have a confident Brody. Almost all of the questions
- 14:45Speaker 1: you've read so far, Brody has had an answer on
- 14:47Speaker 1: his board before you finished reading this last one. I
- 14:49Speaker 1: got a lot of personal experience with another heavy hint. Well,
- 14:57Speaker 1: yeah it is. He feels bad. He feels bad for
- 15:01Speaker 1: the room, doesn't want to run away with it. Again,
- 15:03Speaker 1: looking for the more common name for did imo that
- 15:07Speaker 1: is spelled d I d y m O. Everybody have
- 15:12Speaker 1: an answer, Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 15:17Speaker 1: Steve saying rocks, not Chris saying zeper muscles, Logan saying muscles,
- 15:22Speaker 1: Brodie saying rocks, not Sean saying zebra muscles, Gabby saying muscles,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and Karin saying green muscles. The correct answer is rocks not.
- 15:31Speaker 1: What I was so worried about is you're gonna want
- 15:33Speaker 1: a better name than that. I mean, if KRP doesn't
- 15:38Speaker 1: qualify and rocks not does, I'm gonna I'm gonna what
- 15:41Speaker 1: is rock? Not so so did Imo is like a
- 15:44Speaker 1: shortened version I think of its line in name um
- 15:48Speaker 1: and then rocks not is what it's more commonly for
- 15:50Speaker 1: you if you were like see a sign like stop
- 15:52Speaker 1: the spread of rocks not. Didimo is native departs of Europe,
- 15:56Speaker 1: Asia and North America, but because it's now so widespread,
- 16:00Speaker 1: it's difficult for biologists to actually determine where it belongs
- 16:04Speaker 1: and where it doesn't. Some negatives of did emo is
- 16:07Speaker 1: that it can alter spawning habitat, clogged water intakes, and
- 16:11Speaker 1: foul fishing gear. If you see where certain areas, like
- 16:14Speaker 1: in Alaska, they don't want you to wear felt sold waiters.
- 16:17Speaker 1: That's very common. Now, Brody, what's all your experience with rocks? Oh,
- 16:21Speaker 1: it's just on. When I was a fly fishing guy,
- 16:24Speaker 1: like this time of year July August, when the water
- 16:27Speaker 1: gets warm, that ship would start blooming everywhere. When when
- 16:30Speaker 1: Brody blurreded that tip, it almost threw me off. He's
- 16:36Speaker 1: of fish a lot of northerns in a lake where
- 16:37Speaker 1: Northern's got like illegally introduced. And so I was like
- 16:41Speaker 1: then I was like, oh no, he also was a
- 16:42Speaker 1: fishing guy that was on the news here this morning.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, problem. But I was like, if someone called
- 16:49Speaker 1: the Northern Didemo out of her fill the scoreboard update,
- 16:53Speaker 1: we are halfway through the game of trivia. That's right.
- 16:56Speaker 1: We have a logan it was yet to make ushing
- 17:00Speaker 1: on the scoreboard and then we have Sean, Gabby and
- 17:06Speaker 1: Karin all with one point a piece. Steve and Chris
- 17:09Speaker 1: have three points and in first place with five points.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Had a perfect game so far is Brodie and he's
- 17:15Speaker 1: crushing it. A heaterd never before seen in meat Eater Trivi.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Almost something bad, having bad bad Brodie but just get
- 17:23Speaker 1: kicked by a mule where he's a little off. I
- 17:26Speaker 1: heard you guys. You guys are going on a trip
- 17:28Speaker 1: together here. You know we're gonna be suspicious if Brodie
- 17:31Speaker 1: doesn't come back in to get a little off. You know,
- 17:37Speaker 1: sometimes like very good sports athletes like instead of retiring
- 17:42Speaker 1: when they're at the top, they like drag their career
- 17:44Speaker 1: on too long. I think I'm just gonna retire. I'm
- 17:48Speaker 1: not gonna be so so Brodie would be. I'm forgetting
- 17:54Speaker 1: your name, but I was gonna bring up the Tanya
- 17:56Speaker 1: Harding situation you kind of want right The question six
- 18:10Speaker 1: the topic is hunting. This X ray question comes to
- 18:13Speaker 1: us from Sean Doherty. If you have a question you
- 18:15Speaker 1: think is right for Meatia to Trivia, you can send
- 18:17Speaker 1: it to Trivia at the meat eater dot com. What
- 18:20Speaker 1: is the only state where you can hunt Columbia blacktail,
- 18:24Speaker 1: Columbia white tail, white tail, and mule deer? Any topic
- 18:30Speaker 1: is hunting. What is the only state where you can
- 18:34Speaker 1: hunt Columbia blacktail, Columbia white tail, white tail, and mule deer. Again,
- 18:41Speaker 1: a very quick answer from Brodie Henderson. Well, you're just
- 18:45Speaker 1: not looking over in my way. You had a quick answer.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I can see little Brody fests. Get a little bit
- 18:55Speaker 1: his hand motions. Yeah, one more time looking for before
- 19:06Speaker 1: dear that you can hunt in this stat it's the
- 19:08Speaker 1: only state where you can do it. Columbia blacktail, Columbia
- 19:12Speaker 1: white tail, white tail, and mule deer. Go ahead and
- 19:16Speaker 1: reveal your answers. We have Steve saying Washington, Chris saying Oregon,
- 19:20Speaker 1: Logan sang Oregon, Brodie sang Oregon, Shawn saying Washington, Gabby
- 19:24Speaker 1: saying Washington, and Krin saying Washington. The correct answer is Oregon,
- 19:34Speaker 1: although the species, although these four species are also found
- 19:39Speaker 1: in Washington, you can't hunt Columbia white tailed deer there.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Columbia white tails are also heavily protected in Oregon, but
- 19:46Speaker 1: there is a controlled hunt that takes place in the
- 19:49Speaker 1: Roseberg herd. So the room did very well, and if
- 19:52Speaker 1: they didn't get it right, they had the second best answers.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Some serious taxonomic splitting going on in Oregon. Right question seven,
- 20:02Speaker 1: Brody may have ran away with it at this point.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Couple questions. The topic is woodsmanship. If you're in the
- 20:10Speaker 1: Hoosier National Forest and hiking towards the Star Polaris, then
- 20:15Speaker 1: what direction are you headed? If you're in the Hoosier
- 20:20Speaker 1: National Forest and hiking towards the Star Polaris, then what direction? Okay,
- 20:33Speaker 1: Spencer has had the last few games, he's had one
- 20:35Speaker 1: question on just like your question. Is this supposed to
- 20:40Speaker 1: be the trick question? Just a regular old question that
- 20:46Speaker 1: if you're good at woodsmanship, you'll get it right. I
- 20:49Speaker 1: don't mind criticizing him, but I don't like any kind
- 20:52Speaker 1: of If you're in the Hoosier National Forest and hiking
- 20:57Speaker 1: towards the Star Polaris, then direction are you headed? Does
- 21:08Speaker 1: everybody have an answer to this stupid question? I never
- 21:13Speaker 1: I never said it was go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 21:15Speaker 1: We have Steve saying north, Chris sang north, Logan saying east,
- 21:19Speaker 1: Brody saying north, Shawn saying north, Gabby saying north, and
- 21:23Speaker 1: Karin saying west. The correct answer is north doesn't matter
- 21:27Speaker 1: exactly anywhere in the noisy Paris. That's what makes good question.
- 21:35Speaker 1: That's Polaris is more commonly known as the north star.
- 21:39Speaker 1: And since the Hoosier National Forest of Indiana is located
- 21:43Speaker 1: in the northern hemisphere, and if you walk towards Polaris,
- 21:46Speaker 1: you're headed north, so it's it's north for everybody in
- 21:49Speaker 1: the northern hemisphere. That's why I said the Hoosia National Forest.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I don't see anyone here that's in the southern hemisphere currently.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I know that. I'll say, you know, you ought to
- 22:05Speaker 1: throw in what's that? Then in the northern hemisphere. It's
- 22:07Speaker 1: the only star that appears fixed in the sky. I
- 22:11Speaker 1: like it. It's the only start. It doesn't change his position,
- 22:15Speaker 1: like six thousand years I think, which one points at Dipper.
- 22:20Speaker 1: If you go to the Big Dipper, if you go
- 22:21Speaker 1: to the outside of the cup of the Big Dipper
- 22:23Speaker 1: and go the direction that that cup, like you go
- 22:26Speaker 1: away from the cup and you count seven spacings of
- 22:31Speaker 1: the outer two stars that will hit players. There we go.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Players might be isn't that the last star on the
- 22:38Speaker 1: handle of a little dipper as well? It might be
- 22:41Speaker 1: I thought it was part of one of the dippers,
- 22:43Speaker 1: but I don't know which round the question eight. We
- 22:45Speaker 1: will to scoreboard update after this. The topic is conservation
- 22:48Speaker 1: and this X great question comes to us via Ryan
- 22:51Speaker 1: Winchester here. If you have a question you think it's
- 22:53Speaker 1: right for meat Eat Trivia, you can send it to
- 22:55Speaker 1: trivia at the meat eator dot com. There are two
- 22:58Speaker 1: hundred fifteen species of darter in North America and four
- 23:03Speaker 1: of them are named after US presidents. Name one of
- 23:06Speaker 1: those presidents. There are two hundred fifteen species of darter
- 23:13Speaker 1: in North America, and four of them are named after
- 23:17Speaker 1: US presidents. Name one of those presidents. A stumped room.
- 23:24Speaker 1: So far it's a darter. I'm not gonna help you.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Two species of darter and four are named after presidents.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Just looking for one of those presidents. I love this
- 23:40Speaker 1: new call sounds. It's unbelievable. You're gonna be breaking that
- 23:44Speaker 1: out with your super duper bulltag. This is the only Yeah,
- 23:48Speaker 1: this is the enjoy. I like enjoy as you can
- 23:52Speaker 1: tell the easy socker and you can multitask while you're
- 23:56Speaker 1: using it. That's how like little thought you have to
- 23:58Speaker 1: put into using that thing. Those rules will have never
- 24:00Speaker 1: heard that call before in their lives. Let's say, listen
- 24:03Speaker 1: to this show. Does everybody have an answer? Go ahead
- 24:07Speaker 1: and reveal your answers. We have Steve saying Lincoln, Chris
- 24:11Speaker 1: sang Roosevelt, Logan Sang Roosevelt, Brodie sang Roosevelt, Sean Sang Washington,
- 24:17Speaker 1: Gabby sang Roosevelt, and Crin Sang Nixon was actually good conservation.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Actually give a throwaway one and say Trump as well.
- 24:30Speaker 1: But our Theodore Roosevelt, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Roody is playing a perfect game, perfect game, and I
- 24:45Speaker 1: don't see him tripping up on these last two. Profession
- 24:50Speaker 1: and biologists who discovered these four species in two thousand
- 24:54Speaker 1: twelve decided to name them after leaders who they said
- 24:57Speaker 1: best promoted conservation and environmental protection. They also discovered a
- 25:01Speaker 1: fifth darter, which they named after former Vice President Al Gore.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Phil give us a scoreboard update. It is down to
- 25:10Speaker 1: two players because our esteemed guest Chris Parrish has six points.
- 25:15Speaker 1: He's already broken the He's still in the running. He's
- 25:19Speaker 1: in the running because Brodie has eight. Chris has six.
- 25:22Speaker 1: So if Brodie does trip me Steve, Steve has four
- 25:26Speaker 1: those Chris, very impressive. Even if you get these last
- 25:37Speaker 1: two wrong, You've already done it. There you go. But
- 25:39Speaker 1: you think Brodie's not gonna stumble. I don't see a
- 25:42Speaker 1: spot for him to mess up here. Question nine. The
- 25:45Speaker 1: topic is hunting. How many measurements are taken when scoring
- 25:48Speaker 1: a bear skull? How many measurements are taken when scoring
- 25:55Speaker 1: a bear skull? And this is goes by any book.
- 26:00Speaker 1: If it's the Boone and Crockett book, Hoping Young book,
- 26:04Speaker 1: they take the same amount of measurements when scoring a
- 26:07Speaker 1: bear skull. Brod, are you gonna get this one wrong?
- 26:12Speaker 1: Because does everybody have an answer? Go ahead and reveal
- 26:21Speaker 1: your answers. We have Steve saying to Chris saying three,
- 26:24Speaker 1: Logan saying to Sean saying to Gabby saying one, and
- 26:29Speaker 1: Karen saying nine. The correct answer is too near to
- 26:34Speaker 1: score a bear skull, you measure the length and width
- 26:37Speaker 1: and add those numbers together. Do we keep playing the
- 26:40Speaker 1: Brody one, we gotta keep playing. If you want to
- 26:46Speaker 1: learn how to do this without a caliper's then watch
- 26:49Speaker 1: Clayton Newcome's video on the Meat deater dot com called
- 26:52Speaker 1: how to Score a Bear Skull. The last question all
- 26:56Speaker 1: that's left to play for here is if Brody gets
- 26:58Speaker 1: to double the donation from five hundred dollars to a
- 27:01Speaker 1: thousand dollars, it would be the first time that's ever happened.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I want to get one of them the ma Lion
- 27:07Speaker 1: machines a polygraph to make sure that there's not like
- 27:12Speaker 1: a little thing going on. I don't have any earpiece
- 27:15Speaker 1: in or anything like. No one's feed me stuff. Well, listen,
- 27:19Speaker 1: it's they've been fed to fill. No. He gave Krin
- 27:24Speaker 1: all the answers, so we know that it's like a
- 27:25Speaker 1: thing on his mind. He's not morally uncorruptible. It's like
- 27:30Speaker 1: he'll do it. No one will, are you. The last
- 27:34Speaker 1: question the topic is fishing. What state is home to
- 27:38Speaker 1: the world's largest noodling competition? What state? Man, it's home
- 27:46Speaker 1: to the world's largest noodling competition? Broody without an answer yet,
- 27:54Speaker 1: m looking forward. The state home to the world's largest
- 28:02Speaker 1: noodling competition there. I don't know, but like a couple
- 28:09Speaker 1: of years ago, my wife and I watched a documentary
- 28:14Speaker 1: on Amazon and I think it's about noodling, and I
- 28:17Speaker 1: think it might have been in there. Does everybody have
- 28:20Speaker 1: an answer? That's one of those things where age does help,
- 28:23Speaker 1: Like you watch enough of the documentaries and stuff, Brodie
- 28:26Speaker 1: pulls one random thing out. I'd want to have an
- 28:30Speaker 1: age showdown between Chris and Brody because age is a valuable,
- 28:35Speaker 1: valuable tool in this game. Yeah, not an arthritis. But
- 28:40Speaker 1: go ahead and reveal your answers. We are Steve saying Missouri,
- 28:43Speaker 1: Chris saying Oklahoma, Logan saying Kentucky, Brody saying Oklahoma, Sean
- 28:47Speaker 1: saying Oklahoma, Gabby saying Oklahoma, and Karin saying Mississippi. The
- 28:53Speaker 1: correct answer is Oklahoma. Answers and the Perfect Game, he
- 29:02Speaker 1: did the underdoable around and the next postest I believe
- 29:07Speaker 1: it was Chris who got seven that game. Perfect Game.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Just pull him out. It's almost und I don't like that.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I don't like where you're going. Questioning my integrity will
- 29:22Speaker 1: remind the audience again. These two are about to go
- 29:24Speaker 1: to Alaska together. They're gonna be in a very remote place.
- 29:27Speaker 1: He's gonna come back if people are gonna be like,
- 29:31Speaker 1: he's just a little off. Yeah, it's just if you
- 29:34Speaker 1: see Steve holding a tire iron, he's not he's not
- 29:37Speaker 1: changing his time, Brody, I gotta find out how long
- 29:41Speaker 1: you got to hold someone underwater before they get like
- 29:44Speaker 1: a little oxygen, Like no one really knows. Maybe his
- 29:48Speaker 1: wife had noticed in his tribute score go down. You
- 29:50Speaker 1: could start that level of damage. You could start off
- 29:53Speaker 1: your human toxicity of leads. Good idea. That's right, little
- 29:58Speaker 1: drips and they're gonna it's sweet peppers. It's sweet pepper.
- 30:03Speaker 1: The thousand dollars, where's it gonna go? Well, Oh, I've
- 30:08Speaker 1: been wanting to do something with kids, so I think
- 30:11Speaker 1: let's do on that catch a Dream thing where they
- 30:15Speaker 1: send kids with terminal diseases on hunts and fish hunting
- 30:18Speaker 1: and fishing trip. Who could argue with that one? And
- 30:21Speaker 1: he's a he's a good guy to boot, real good guest.
- 30:27Speaker 1: So it was like, if you think about it, where
- 30:31Speaker 1: where's the money? Catch a dream? Catch a dream? Okay,
- 30:35Speaker 1: well done, Brody, congratulations on a perfect game. Flirting with it.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Some say you got in the past was like a
- 30:45Speaker 1: contestant that he felt that he did as a straight
- 30:48Speaker 1: ten for Tenny got but he's never done it before.
- 30:52Speaker 1: He did it once before, but it was before we
- 30:53Speaker 1: had the I think we're even the HUNTERD dollar donations.
- 30:57Speaker 1: So he's had two perfect games. Who perfect games. We've
- 31:00Speaker 1: played about twenty games of trivia, so that's gonna be
- 31:03Speaker 1: a new stat. Ten percent of the time Brody gets
- 31:05Speaker 1: the perfect game. Yeah, I should just retire now, Chris,
- 31:10Speaker 1: thank you for playing. Join us next time for more
- 31:13Speaker 1: media or Trivia, the only game show where conservation always wins.
