- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: The CMLL show on Friday.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: And then I don't think there's much more apart from that.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, true.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, I forgot to watch the CMLL show on Friday.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I actually didn't watch it.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: So I really didn't watch it.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: I really didn't watch it.

- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: Scripted is is definitely something I don't think I hear triple H say too often But we're gonna talk about scripted sports and entertainment Plus work it is entertainment sports.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think he said sports is entertainment and I'm like it's true
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: sometimes this show here poison ronna is entertainment sometimes it's very very small points of time but we are and we're here to talk about all the wrestling we are based in the lovely city of Toronto
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: as they took over the Scotia bank arena yesterday and I say day because it was a daytime paper view a 3 p.m.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: start time and we went to the show, we went to the presser after and then at some point between then and now we have watched.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: wrestle polusa.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to talk about both shows today and everything going on from the show and coming out of the show and and in between, but if you are listening to this and you don't know who we are, you should search us in your your socials, your podcast app, like I said, police are on a pod on Instagram.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: We don't just do podcasts, but we're in this city of Toronto.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: We like to do some parties and I got to shout out everyone who showed up to our tailgate
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: All-out party, yesterday at Gabby's King Street West, Toronto, what a turnout and loves seeing old friends, new friends, and beyond.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: So always a good time and shout out to the postmarks, the frogs, and the friends out there.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like we might have new listeners today.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: We met a bunch of people yesterday at Gabby's shoutout Gabby's for letting us host.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, we met a bunch of you yesterday.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're checking us out for the first time, hello, welcome.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: I first of all want to give a big shout out to Joe from Niagara.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: who gave up his prize from the raffle.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: He won a pair of tickets to see demand loot shirt this coming Thursday at Parkdale Hall.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: I will certainly be there very much looking forward to that big demand looter fan.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: And if you don't have your tickets yet, good.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: what are you waiting for?
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but he was unable to attend.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: So he gave up his, uh, his tickets and said, or I want you to do is just shout me out.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you, Joe, uh, from Niagara, uh, for giving that prize back.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, yeah, it was awesome meeting you.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was also meeting a bunch of
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we had post wrestling people.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: We had poison on a friends.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: We had people who just were walking by and saw your chalkboard being like, Oh, there's rest there's wrestling music playing.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this looks like the place to be once again.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: We are the the only people in the city
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: doing cool wrestling stuff.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: There was nowhere else.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: There was some wrestle pollusa, watch parties later on, but nowhere else.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, I guess the time change really did.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: We thought it would mess this up, but people were there even before the bar opened, ready to parties.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it was a long day, but a fun day.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: We, of course, had your, your all out, wrestle, wrestling cocktail, special,
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: menu shout out the classic poison ron the timeless twist or the proto star if you had listen to our all in interviews with Tony storm and Fletcher they've made it to the drink menu the ever so popular tiger driver nine.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: I did agree
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: Realize, however, I didn't list in greedy, not known for orange juice in the timeless twist.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: So, might have been a bit of a funky drink if anyone did happen to water that.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: One of those that happened in greedy.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Tiger Drive in 1991, very popular.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: Very dangerous.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, yes, only done in the right spots in the match in the bar.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: But your new concoction, the pancakes and pile drivers, which was a very interesting drink.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: So, what is this for people who want enough?
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: So this was a half Canadian rye whiskey, half butter ripple, look at us and butter scotch, chased with orange juice and some bacon.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's called a breakfast shot, you believe, but it's you get sort of this
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: almost like maple seropinus from the butter scotch with the with the whiskey and then the orange juice gives you that like fresh burst that it's you know breakfast time and then the pat the the bacon at the end just that saltiness mixed with this sort of sweet seropinus it just tastes like you've had pancakes and bacon for breakfast it's it's pretty delightful.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: It literally tastes like you're eating pancake like a whole pancake breakfast.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know you're not a fan But the pickle back is a popular shot where you do a shot of whiskey and then a shot of pickle juice and people say it tastes like eating Pickle chips and that's exactly what this did the whiskey the orange juice and the bacon it all in one like boom boom boom it makes
- 6:31[SPEAKER_02]: it almost makes you feel like you're actually eating pancake breakfast.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: So a great shot there.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: Some people were brave enough to have it, shout out all the post marks as well as the post wrestling community.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: We had some very familiar faces, Mike Murray, WH Park, Eric Mark caught, fought Jack.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: Finally, okay, well, they didn't fight, but they hugged it out.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: They got to meet in person.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: We know that they are actually two different people in the flesh.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: We have found that out.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, and you know like seeing and hearing so many people who traveled in for this show actually pretty crazy like having people travel from not just other places of Canada, but the US or or even a bunch of people from London.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_02]: Traveling here.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, not the real London not London, Ontario.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get to but London England like there's a bunch of people flying from all over the place for for A. E. Doves so really cool to see and again, we love people in costume as well.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: We had don't call us in big, big stoke attending the pre-party.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I do love the the wrestling fit and you know I was really I was really surprised and really happy that no one at least at our party no one stank.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, I did, you signed that Reddit thread.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: I did, yes, you could have seen me applying, re-applying Deodorant just as we were leaving to go to venue and someone asked me, what are you doing over there?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: I said, I'm doing what I hope everyone going to this wrestling event does, and that's putting on Deodorant.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I personally didn't encounter at this time because usually we're pretty quick to not enjoy that.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: But I was okay, maybe because we were in like,
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: maybe a nice or media section, but apparently the stink was real in this.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I saw this, uh, this reddit post from a couple who went and bought four seats, which usually, you know, pretty pretty expensive.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and they ended up having to move to restricted view seats because the smell was that bad coming guys.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: I know, I know I'm not
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, bear in mind, shouring and deodorant isn't enough.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: You also do need to wear clean clothes.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, as well.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, this is true, but showers are your, your friend.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: So it's the earlier there's no shame in walking keeping the other and on you as you keep a a Perse of bag a man bag whatever a championship fanny pack like I do sometime What pocket just don't you know you stink sometimes?
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean the summer's almost over We're gonna I guess go away from that, but the stink is
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: timeless.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: The stink is forever.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: But no stinking up the joint here from us.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I got to think everyone out there.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: We had Joe Poe, John Pollock, post wrestling.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: It was a fun time and I'm sure the next time a big wrestling event comes to the city.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: We'll have to do another get together as well.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: I know Davey, me and you were looking at possibly going down for full gear in November down in Newark or New York area.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're listening, you're planning or thinking of going to
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: Hang out or or or after the show or or something like that, but I love the daytime paper views got us kick that off with just it It still drained me.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's still like wiped me out completely because
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: show stuff we got there at quarter after two and we were there.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, obviously we stayed for the presser, which is a lot longer than normal people, but we didn't leave till like 930 or something like that though.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think the show was four hours 55 minutes and when you factor in as well, people going to the pre show, which for the first time ever live on TV, they had the pre show with
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give them credit.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it kind of was paced well.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it did move at a good pace.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: It did kind of, I've been a shorter show that I felt longer, but certainly I felt especially during the main event, which was excellent, but especially during the main event, when Justin Roberts said 30 minutes gone, 30 minutes remaining.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: There was this kind of collective
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: gas in the crowd and like some whispering and muttering with people turning to each other going.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: fuck.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: Are they doing an hour?
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: Are they going Broadway with this?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I think people were feeling the fatigue there.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now shout out the Scotch Bank Arena, a sensible arena, which actually does serve coffee.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: It does have a Tim Hortons.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: That is helpful.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: So many of these arenas you cannot get caffeinated drinks in, which is just bonkers when you're putting on shows at this length.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it was another long AEW show.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, you can find red balls at these arenas, but for coffee people, like they have options.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: I've been to somewhere they haven't even had red balls, which is crazy.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: It really, like, my only critique of these going to these AW shows really, like the, the, the,
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: the broken record for me is I do think it's too long.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's you're getting you're more than getting your money's worth and I'm sure that some people maybe grown or I roll that like that's a that's a critique it's too long.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_02]: It is like when you go to these things you're sitting there for five hours straight meaning in five hours you probably have to go to the washroom once or twice maybe ten times if you're if your day
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: but you also have to go to get something to drink.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: Get something to eat.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_02]: Just stretch your, like, sitting for five hours straight.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: Is a, is a, is a pretty daunting task.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I am a sicko.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: I am an obsessed, you know, silly wrestling fan.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll go to these shows, but my one thing for years now has been WWE, they do the three hours, but in that it's half of its commercials and barely any actual wrestling on it.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: usually you feel like this is dragged on and I only really saw like four matches whereas a w you get you get the quality you get the content it's totally worth the money but you do feel like by the end of that main event after drinking a large coffee I'm still like fighting I want to be invested in this and you know I don't think I was alone I think the Scotio Bank was such a loud crowd and by the main event
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: You saw people were kind of tired even if it started at 3 p.m.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: instead of 8 p.m.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: So my only one big critique off the top is still that they they don't need to go 5 hours every you know ricochet in the DOA dudes didn't need to be on this paper view at some point you got to pick and choose because people
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: leave people get tired and you want a supporting be invested.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: I've been waiting for that main event match for so long.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: And by the time the bell rings, I'm like, man, I've been sitting in this chair for four hours.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a sweet spot.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think, I think for AEW, I'd be fine before hours.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think four hours still long time, but I think they do move at such a pace where
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: where they can keep me invested before hours, maybe four hours with an overrun, you know, four hours, seven minutes, something like that.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: As soon as you're pushing five, it's a lot to ask for.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: And this isn't like, it's all in.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's not there like big issue of the year.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think when it is WrestleMania or something like that, there is some justification of maybe going a little longer than usual.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: And the kind of thought of I want to get as many people
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: For a show like this, it doesn't need to go 5.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: I do assume a lot of the reason of that was to the final hour to go head to head.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: The first hour of WWE to go head to head with Brock Lesnar and John Cena.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I wonder, I mean,
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: if that show wasn't going ahead, this would have been a probably a 7 p.m.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: start, right?
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I agree, I think five hours is asking a lot, especially for those who are, you know, getting in for the pre-show and making sure they're sat and settled for the pre-show.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Some people are going to be there for like six and a half hours in this arena.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's just, that's just my like one honest critique.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: I love the content they put out.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: I love pro wrestling.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: I love watching this stuff, but there is a tipping point as a fan.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like we should again, we showed up to 15.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: And what if you were in there before too, watching the dark matches, watching the pre-show?
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're there for like six hours.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: of just watching wrestling.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's a long time.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's such a long time.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that there's great stuff there, but it can be a bit much for people.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: You would see people like yawning and nodding off and stuff when they're fighting to be invested.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like the main event was a big draw for a lot of people.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: You could see people were fighting and then talking to not just friends after the show but talking to other people.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big that's a big one that comes out of his like, man, it's not even that they go five hours because they only have a paper for you every three months It they do this five hour show every every month almost it seems so it is it is a lot and I'm coming from someone who really just I love this shit, but if you're
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: Killing my energy because it's like okay, you know, I love the Irish man, but you know I don't like to go back and rewatch that one.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Just cuz it's two damn long I'll put on a solid good fellas three hours something something like that, but five hours is a whole lot To take it and I love the show don't get me wrong two thumbs up, but if I had to say like that beats me up And that's someone who who had coffee plenty of and energy drinks and I was still like oh boy
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: So let's give some quick thoughts on the pre-show.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: We missed, I think, the first match.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: But we got in for Shibada Daniel Garcia, Garcia now, full member of the Death Riders, is Black short.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: Mapanard was on commentary, obviously we were watching live.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: So we're not quite sure what was being said there.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think it's going to be too long before we see Garcia take out Matt Manard.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, a solid win for Garcia in this new persona using his sort of curb stomp finish that he's been doing.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the red death rider, I guess is what his his moniker.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: I like the new look for him.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's been long time coming that we try something different with Garcia.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: We've always been a long time fan.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully this is in the right direction for him.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also pretty sure Braden that you got inducted into the Frat House by 10 by Preston Vance.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, I guess in a weird little way, I am a big fan of the Frat House and when their music hit, you can see a lot of people look to their friends, look to the side like, who is this?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: Who are these people?
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, they're a Frat House.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: How come half of them look like they're 40?
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, I love these guys, they're hilarious.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: And Preston Vance comes out and I don't know what the pose is that they do or something But I must have like put my hand in the air and he managed to look over at the exact time I did that and he realized you're the only guy here who's reacting to us.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: So he started I don't know fist bumping with he was he was pointing you out.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: He was like, yeah, you yeah You were in the front house.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I guess I'm a pledge
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're going to have to what do they do like water toilets for the toothbrush and all that Yeah, some van wild stuff.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: They're like fully be a member of the front house But I was not only thrilled to see the fat house, but Kyla Riley getting on the show Canadian talent there and hologram cool to see the hologram come live in in the flesh.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: He is In fact, not an actual hologram.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: I've learned that now seeing him live, but
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, another fun match for the pre-show center, the crowd home happy with those fraternity guys getting beat up.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then we had the the tailgate brawl, the eight woman tag match, anything goes, a lot of fun, the baby faces of Willow, Minasura Kawakwino Manada, and Harley Cameron winning.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: But, uh, uh,
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was going to say, greatest, greatest faction of all time possible.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Harley, Mina, Aminita, and Willow.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm an artist, sorry, Willow.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this, this was the greatest team of ever, like, Survivor Series could never.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: War games could never.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: Look at these women.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: They were killing each other with the, the coolers and the, like, the barbecue.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, then dancing around after this was, this already put me in a great mood for this paper view, but, uh, yeah,
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: Love the matching gear as well for it.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: It looked like Cookout, tailgate.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like they had the grills and everything.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: It was pretty fun.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: But shall we get into the main show, kicking things off with Cope and Cage, Cade and Cope, taken on FTR.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you know, we've been calling them CNC Canadian club here and your your CNC shot on our AW and themed menu was literally just a shot of CNC People were asking so wait, I don't understand what's the CNC literally it's just a job to see but Canadian club Canadian content cope in cage or cage in cope we got some great more Canadian content though because they start the show with
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: Copeland and Christian arriving and he's looking at the Maple Leaf memorabilia on the walls and then they go saw a window clerk And then realizes that window clerk is in the flesh here.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: Maple Leaf Toronto Legend here Copeland said that this is his favorite hockey player of all time and then here he is cheering him on for his match at the scotch of bank And then if that's not enough they walk into bubbles who possibly got one of the biggest reactions
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, hi here and I showing how popular trailer park boy still is he later would go into the the seats and he was watching the show Not far from in front of us down there, but people were cheering for a pretty much all night and then that turned into the green bastard So I loved how Christian is no selling when oh Clark
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: and bubbles here, and then we got some even some swearing, which I couldn't believe, like real like the way each other parked boys are supposed to be presented, so the green bastard and edging Christian, this is a great way to kick things off, I thought, like the Canadians in the crowd definitely like these deep cuts, I think.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think you could you could tell even from the pre that this crowd were going to be hot.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's the set in the press conference.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's the highest sold all out of all time because date for all out of all time.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, these Canadian crowds certainly do show up and two things off with with Copeland Christian, you know, a good sing song to get things started with meddling us.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was the right move.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think if this wasn't main eventing the show, it should maybe
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: I thought was a good solid match, all of this is going up memory, I haven't had the chance to watch any of this on TV yet, which I just normally like too, but with Resson Palooza as well.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I enjoyed the match, I feel there's still a bit more in the tank, like I felt the finish was a little abrupt with the spear.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: But with the post match angle, with, you know, Beth Phoenix running out and getting laid out, it seems that this feud will continue and we will get another one.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, I was happy with the match, but not necessarily fully satisfied.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'll put it that way.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: I definitely think we were getting another one.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: I know just the other day we were previewing the show.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: You were like, oh, Adrian Christian have to win.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, I think it would be interesting.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: If FTR somehow win, and then you continue it on.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: But instead, they just did the same thing by having them win.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: But FTR instantly getting the heat back thus, I imagine we go to some sort of gimmick.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: match.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, everyone just assumed that this would be some sort of ladder or TLC, the specialty of C and C. So I think we're eventually going to go get there.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, having Beth get the pile driver,
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: is a big, big point in that direction, I think that they're going to go to a rematch.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's two of those rules.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Noticue or something.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: Eventually, who knows?
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: We could get the titles back into this program, too, if FTR were maybe get those from Brodito down the line or something.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: But I thought this was a fun match.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: They did everything that I think it kind of exceeded my expectations.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: They used some bells and whistles with Beth and stuff like that.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: But.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: some really great kickouts and really great moves obviously John Cena and his retirement tour doing the shoutout to Edge just like a week or so ago.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: So here we have Edge in the same arena that these two I have watched live have some pretty epic encounters doing the five knuckle shuffle on the FU a great way.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah
- 23:47[SPEAKER_02]: his friend John like yeah like so so epic there uh so in this arena like they had you know that that TLC match was just crazy so that was a cool shout out but some great kickouts the shatter machine etc so it left me wanting more but it still hit on almost I think a little over-delivered of maybe what I was expecting for some reason so the crowd were like really into the the theme songs
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: going forward.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: I want you set two out of three falls and then maybe escalate that to a TLC or something like that because I know these.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, do do like three stages of hell style, you know, you could regular tag, no DQ and then a lot of match or something like that.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think this few blends itself to it.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I liked all the callbacks.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you had the 3D in the match.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: You had, um, you had an attempt at a twist of bait and swarms on a lot of callbacks.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I was fun.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: I still feel there's, yeah, just a little bit more to be had from this.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think I think there's more to come with this, with this feud for sure.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, then we go to a returning Eddie Kingston to take on big bill, um, Tony Khan made a point in the presser.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, oh, you all thought.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: Eddie needed to be a surprise to get a good reaction.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it sounded like he had a pretty good reaction tonight.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think both can be true as well.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was good seeing Eddie back.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: I, I like Eddie.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: I like Eddie's promos, especially.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to sound mean, but I felt a part way through this match.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh, yeah, it's Eddie kicks to make it.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like I, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: didn't overly get into this.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: I respect it.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think Big Bill's been putting in good work as well.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, yeah, you both maybe deserve this moment, but this was on the lower point of the card for me.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: I do agree.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm really happy that Eddie's come back.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's definitely like some heart and soul of a w that the fans can really get behind.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: But I can't lie and say I didn't head scratch at Big Bill calling Eddie Kingston out just seemingly out of nowhere.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's basically like, hey, you're from New York.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: Well, also I am.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: And my area of New York Queens is better than Yonkers.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: And this, it's like, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and then we're going to fight in Toronto.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: I just think like we're at all in you had here you could hear people in Texas cheering for Eddie to show up in the Yeah, death writer stuff now.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_02]: They kind of just he's just back and he's cleared and big bills the first one to call him out.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I did think this was kind of weird that this was on this show, but it's great to have Eddie back.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think he could be a heavy hitter on on return.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't the most exciting match, but at least it got people hyped for him coming back.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not sure where we go with him, where they slots into like a TNT title or some sort of juicy feud or something.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: in there.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: But the easiest thing would be to have him with the death riders, right?
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like that.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: But then they didn't do that.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like they had him come back to the next part.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: But maybe moving on after this.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like, like, this having his new death writers, right?
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: With the course here, I don't know if there's any chance Eddie would join that.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's just such a genuine person.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't think joining them, but I think as a foe.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: He had the epic Claudio sucks eggs.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, on as well.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe we go back to a one-on-one with him, but... Yeah, I can see him being, like, cutting a problem role on Wednesday.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, now I've taken care of that business.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's the important stuff.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like, John Moxie, what the fuck have you been doing since I've been away?
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: And people are young and get right back into that.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: We then went to a tax and table smash or tables and tax and you knew it was going to get bloody as MJF coming out all in white.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: I actually think this might have been my favorite match on the show.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was definitely up there for me.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: I had a lot of fun with this.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: And we've seen tax in matches before, but we've never really seen a tax match where right from the beginning, it's just the whole ring is covered in thumb tax.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: Bryce, the referee, is wearing almost like gardener gloves, like white gardener gloves to make brows, but they're just tacked everywhere.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: I thought this was so much fun and I'm really happy they gave the win to Mark Briscoe.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was needed at this stage.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's lost far too many of these big matches.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had a great time with this match.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: I really did too, you know, Mark Briscoe has really like become a awesome character in 2025 with a W. They've done such a good job.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, he's helped enhance a lot of talent just like MJF, the whole All-Incassino thing.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I think giving him a big win here is really good.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I wouldn't even, I would go even further and you could do a whole TV thing for like a week or two.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: give him a title shot against hangman.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously doesn't need to win, but like the whole story was that MJF stole that contract from him and everything.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: MJF still has the contract.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Mark got the win here.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: This MJF is on some crazy run.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we're talking.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't get enough praise to be completely honest.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: This guy wrestled Friday night in Mexico, which again, haven't watched it yet.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: But people online, people we've talked to,
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: are praising this mystical match from CMLL and then he flies to Toronto to do this match and then it looks like he's flying to do like movies and all sorts of stuff.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: So this guy is got married.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: He got just got married to someone from like a different Toronto.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, shout out what a pic of it.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: So like the guys the guy is killing it this year one of my favorite wrestlers this year is M. J. F. He's he's doing the most and I don't know if he's getting enough credit.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: This match was really good.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: It was Super bloody he unfortunately got a lot of blood on like his crotch area.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think the mark brisco so it looked like it was a little bit of the Shark week going on there, but
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, this was so much you're losing your mind at the thumbtacks in the head.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it was clear on risk.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, because he's going to save head and you could see these tax stuck in it, but even M. J. F. Yeah, it was his, his hair had been.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: like stapled to his head.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it wasn't that what Turkey was for, as a matter of what everyone keeps joking about his trips, people's trips to check you know that.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think his hair looks great.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I was, yeah, I was in shock to see tax inside there.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: You could see in the back of this even M. J. F. his hair.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but as a guy who shapes his head, briskos has is shaped.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: And you could see they were just,
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: indented in this dude's head and anyone who's we all have heads and you could just feel that must have absolutely suck but all the power to these two guys for doing such a ridiculous gimmick in match but you know I I really did get into this and I forgot how good it was of just all the violence and you got to see the photo of Bryce's boots after the match they're just completely covered in tax.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder how many exact tax were used in this but
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: Where would you go with MJF following this?
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: He might he might be after you for a little bit, but like I mean he's still got that contract right I'm surprised I'm surprised we haven't had the contract involved in the match like could you have brisco
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: have could these two have one more match on a dynamite where risk goes, you know, I beat you, put your contract on the line for that title shot.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we'll go one more of that.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean, I think especially with so many people being out right now, we might be going to that Hangman M.J.F rematch sooner rather than later.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because who would you say are Hangman's other
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: opponents.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, to Kesterna Carter are like two big names, but they seem tied up with each other.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: Um, like, do you have, like, a one-off like Bobby Lashley title chase or something like, like, I'm trying to think of the top names who are around at the moment aside from MJF.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I, they're on, like clear names coming to my mind.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like I threw out Mark Briscoll should face Hangman on like a dynamite or something, but I'm wondering if is it to is it too weird to go to Hangman, Briscoll and JF for like a three way.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just a way prolonging for sure.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: You could do that at Russell Dream and then fall gear.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: You could do Hangman MJF.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: Even if you could hope by the new year that, you know, some some people are back from injury.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: You could do that.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Any match if you wanted to.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, like Kenny Hangman.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I wish I could totally see that one more time.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think if mjf were to say, you know, what next paper view.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm passing it full gear new jersey.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm caching in and then I don't know Mark brisco talks to Tony con and he's like, well, he beat you.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: So actually, I'm going to enter him in the match to or I don't know something along those lines, but and then imagine Mark brisco winning.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, well, changing the game, but I don't know.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: I want to hang man to keep going as champion to the new year, but I can't quite figure out what other viable opponents right now.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: Juicy opponents because I think they got away with this fletcher.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's not ready story.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: we're kind of starting from scratch now unless you go back to mjf so i'm quite sure who that next person is to step up for that but i'm sure it'll be good content but i'm sure they got some things announced but i i love this match mjf and brisco went out there and and kill each other and man mjf loves to bleed there's both of these guys love to bleed but love to
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now, no disrespect to the next six men, but we knew it was gonna be a long show and we did need to stretch our legs, have a pee, get some food, and that's what was this six-man tag of Queen.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: The Hertz Indica and the Demand.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: I did catch a lot of this on the video screens outside of what I could see.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: This was a lot of,
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: uh, the demand, which is Rick Shay and G-O-A isolating MVP, not letting Shelton and Bobby get involved too much and ultimately picking up the win over, um, over MVP.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: But kind of putting, putting this new unit over quite strong, uh, I do think these guys have a bit of an uphill battle before they're going to start turning heads.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: But, uh, I guess putting them over the hurts
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: a move in the right direction if you're trying to establish these guys.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's a crazy push.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, her syndicator easily, one of the most over.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: Acts in a W, at least the theme song alone is and that helps, but I think that's a bold move to have them win definitely didn't expect that.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: And kind of hearing the press conference after Ricochet being like, hey, I didn't forget about them punking me out and everything.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_02]: So the story is kind of ongoing from before, but I imagine this few, this rivalry isn't necessarily overwith, but
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I think I much would have preferred.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think it would have been a bigger thing.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I know they're trying to get over the tag behind Rickishay.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: And the demand is not the greatest name, either.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: Don't like what is this?
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is the pose.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: There's only one demand.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: And it's demand, Lucha, in Toronto, Parkdale.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: I like Rickishay a lot.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he's great at this heel, ricochet character.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: I just almost don't like the pairing with these guys.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's kind of early, but already I'm just like,
- 35:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I didn't get a chance to watch this back, but I did go back and watch some of the match highlights just on their YouTube before recording and yeah, he did some funny stuff when he hyped up his chest and stuff, but overall I don't know if this necessarily needed to be on the show and going back to it should have just been ricochet versus MVP one on one because then maybe showing him beat MVP like again, they're trying to get these guys over.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: This act isn't necessarily working yet, but that's what we were all saying about Ricochet.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_02]: First coming in to AWS, so maybe give it some time and they'll find their own.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think GLA because they've been around now in AEW for quite a while, but
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: they would never like debut strong, you know, they were a ring of honor act to occasionally were on Dynamite and you didn't know a whole lot about them apart from their two pretty big blocs who can probe people around.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: And even pairing them with Ricochet, we're still, it's not like we've seen personality coming out of them.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like Ricochet certainly found his personality in AEW.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we need a bit more here these guys talk a bit.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what it is, but I think they're good.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're fine, but there's there's nothing that really gravitates me towards them.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I agree.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe over time they'll find something, but I think something needs to change a bit whether it's their local just.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I imagine partnering Rick Shave with the guns or something like that.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: The guns are probably no better in-ring than these two, but at least there's some, there's some personality and some fun to be had.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I, I think we need to get a bit of that out of these guys.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_02]: I get it because he wants like big heavy loss, right?
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's the, he's the high-flying healer, so it does kind of, I guess, work.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, so far it's like they're trying to make it happen, and I don't know if it's
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: I've been loving Rick Shay's run.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I'd rather just see more singles stuff with him.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess we need trios people.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: So we then went to Mercedes Monet taking on a
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: Mercedes having gone to the local male strip club for her entrance this time round Remington so that Remington says things.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah something like that.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what is it like house on her Wednesday or whatever.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who's house But yeah, she had a bunch of these guys topless sporting her titles just objectifying men man.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: Just objects come on.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes And yeah
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of how I usually feel about a re-home match, like it's, I forget how good she is.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: She impresses.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was a good match, and then she'll probably disappear from TV, and I won't think about this match ever again.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought, I thought for what it was, was great, was a good match between the two.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I love Mercedes in 2025.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: She's really come around.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: She's had a great, great run with this character.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure she's still got her critics.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: But I think watching her a lot this year, she's really impressed.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: Reho is someone like the OG Yoshi from AEW.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: So to have her come against Mercedes with, I know her love for Yoshi wrestling stuff is probably a bit of a dream match here for her low key.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_02]: But I thought this was really good.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: They had some great action.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: You know, both are really tiny.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: And we were saying going into this,
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: Whoever's facing these two are usually the more dominant powerful one, but they're about the same size.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: So it was probably Mercedes with the the size advantage here, but I didn't the only thing is no one expected Rehought to witness and I think that's always the kind of the thing when she comes back and they try to reheat her up and stuff.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: But at the end of the day, we got a pretty fun match out of it and going forward.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where we go with Mercedes now that we have another
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: new women's champion.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: I guess the heel run with this TPS title will be the long, long run here with the title.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also impressed with how many times she can come up with entrances where different people are holding all those title belts.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_02]: That just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like every time she's wrestling on a, w, paper, do.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: She's got some sort of new title, whether it's like,
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: titles.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: She's got an interesting story.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not quite sure who's ready to step into that yet, but we shall see.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: We move on to Kazuchka Akada vs Kanosuke Kanosuke to Keshta and Maskara Derada for the AW Unified Championship.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: What a match, holy shit, to like, this was, this was crazy.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I wanted, I had the prayer circle up since all that was announced for to catch diverse as Ocata for Toronto.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, please make this happen, wrestling gods, TK book it and he did and then he's like, hey, but I'm going to add.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: Mascara Dorada, which I'm like, ah, but then it's also not upset by that because that dude's awesome.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: And he proved it in this match.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think this was probably my match with the night, uh, maybe this or the main event, but there, this was just nonstop.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: I got the T's, T's is, I should say, of Takeshan O'Cotta with them going at it.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_02]: And then entering the Lucha in there,
- 40:57[SPEAKER_02]: nonstop action of just like what like 20 minutes or something like 21 minutes on the dot of just like go go go go go go go and then it totally leaves you wanting the singles up to kesta and okada and i imagine we go to wrestle dream with that singles match there but to kesta they've they've very heavily teased at the point and and to kesta
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like he's on his way out of the Don Carlos family as well.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely leaning more baby face.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_02]: that that's got to be him.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: The Takeshda now turning face is a big move here and if anyone should be the guy to take this title, the triple crown title thing from Okada, it should be Takeshda to to build him up even more.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Takeshda's got to even a bigger plate coming into the new year with potentially main, eventing, wrestle kingdom, depending on whatever happens with him and Zack and stuff like that.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm wondering if we get this match again at
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: the dome in Tokyo.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm wondering if Ocada might go back on his word and maybe go back in Russell.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if Naito can go back to New Japan, it seems.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Ocada will.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_02]: And if these two can wrestle, like I would, I can't wait for this match.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: selfishly, we're looking to go to full gear.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like fuck.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: They come here, they don't do the singles.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then we don't go to rest of Dream, and that's where they do it.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: I really want to see this match.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: To Keshia is my ace right now.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_02]: I fucking bought his book in Japan.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even speak Japanese.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna use a Google translator to read this thing.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I, and I'm so upset because he, it looked like he hung out with our boy, Damian.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: from fucked up yesterday in the city so like the he had interviewed him for the show the wrestlers all those years ago so super cool big if true but yeah love this match like this was if the only gripe is this match didn't get enough time cut the ricochet match just give these guys another 20 minutes but holy shit I thought this was the right length I didn't need
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: much more from this.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: I am very trepidacious with the Okada these days.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm I try not to get my hopes up too much because I don't think he's been the Okada of old I wasn't particularly blown away with you all in match with Kenny.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the the moment in the spectacle was called but the match itself.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: I thought there were glimpses of the real Okada here.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: I thought there were some really cool moments between the three of them and yeah, especially both Okada and Tequesta just being such a great base for Dorada.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: I thought yeah, this was definitely at the top for me.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I might even join that tax map to maybe a bit more.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like that Dorada guys, he's out of this world.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is Grand Metal League, right?
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_02]: Still waiting on that documentary, right, David?
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, we got a live Morgan dock and not enough.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: We had a fight on the way to fight on a civil argument on a show where I think they were promoting live Morgan dock on the UW network and I don't know why, but I was like, where's my grandmother leaked dock and you laughed at me, but look.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_02]: I still stand, I want my mascara Dorada.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: Matt, no, I love this.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: This dude is awesome.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like he was doing some shit I've never seen.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought Ocada and to Keshaw were great bases for him.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: But I walked by to Keshaw last night and I got giddy, man.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's my favorite guy to watch.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm really hoping we get that Ocada to Keshaw.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: Bangor, maybe a series potentially in the next few months or pay-per-view cycles and maybe even rest of Kingdom, but a boy can dream.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, this was up there for me.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: This one was like, all right, I got my monies where from from this match, where these three just went out and impressed very, very much so great match.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we'll be talking about it.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: There's there's been a few good matches this year, but this one coming up to something we watched live at, didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: Then we had the cop-in match, Darby Allen, taking on John Moxley as we thought.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty violent, pretty bloody.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: Darby getting a bit of his own back with the fork to the year of Moxley this time, definitely had a bit of problems with the main coffin, kind of the hinges being broken quite early on.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: And you could see both guys trying to work around that.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: But this led to the return of
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know who this guy was to start with.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Did you say it was Tom Hardy?
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, no, I thought, I thought, is that Tom Lawler?
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: And you were like, is that Tom Hardy?
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, this could have been Josh Groben.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I had no idea who this guy was.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, it was Pack.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_01]: And someone had a haircut.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, yeah, the little troll from underneath the bridge has returned.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: I did not know who this was for a good solid,
- 45:54[SPEAKER_02]: bunch of bunch of seconds and it didn't help that you're like is that Tom Lawler and then I set out loud Tom Hardy and then the person shot shout out Simon Miller from yes what culture was sat next to us the whole show what a gem what a great human and then so you say out loud to me Tom
- 46:11[SPEAKER_02]: Tom, you say Tom Lawler, but my brain hears Tom Hardy, so then I say Tom Hardy, and then it's a series of broken telephone because I'm pretty sure our friend Simon Miller there was like, did you say Tom Holland and then we're all like, wait, who is this and he's like, oh wait, it's never, yeah, it's packed and we're like, oh shit, okay, so he cut his hair looks like a complete looks like a footy player now.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_02]: just looks like someone's going to piss off a referee.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm cool at this.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: Cool to see him back sucks for Darby Allen here, I guess, but yes, pack with a haircut and some new kick pads.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like, but this match was violent.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: You had to what the fork and everything.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: It was it was pretty chaotic.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I think we just had
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: the fatigue of violence, especially even not just at all in, but the tax match earlier in the night that it can kind of like blend together of who was doing stuff, but there was obviously some crazy stuff in this match, but I know what you mean.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: It almost felt like this match could have made of entered.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think it was built up to that level where
- 47:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think had Hangman not of main event at the last paper view, I think there could be an argument to put this on last.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I, as crazy as some of the stuff they did, we still had a lot of match to go and we still had a tax match.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I, I maybe felt the violence didn't get to the level it could considering it's these two.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's that's kind of where I'm at.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think obviously we're going to go towards well, he then set him on.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Darby then set Moxley on fire and then drove away.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_02]: So either we're getting some sort of inferno match or an attempt at the exploding barbed wire death right.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because Darby set Moxley fire off with.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: right yes uh so obviously we're gonna go towards some sort of even bigger more dangerous gimmick match between these guys and you know mocks did the barbed wire thing before but we could do something along those lines maybe blood and guts yet pack and me Darby's gonna want some
- 48:14[SPEAKER_02]: some dramas with him to there and the deathwriter stuff like continues and it's I'm not I feel like we should speed up where if it's gonna go somewhere like does he kick people out or just is this like the Doncouse family where we just keep getting new members and new members and
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: And that's it.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: But I would say it may be out of all the big matches.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't even say I was disappointed.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_02]: I actually was really still into this.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_02]: But like I kind of said, maybe the violence I'm almost normalized to it.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like we were there in Texas and like the fork started to match, whereas this one, it was bloody and everything.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't not like it, but I wouldn't say it was on the higher end of the show for me.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, then we went to our women's championship match four-way time as Tony storm defending against Jamie Hader, Tecler and Chris Statlander with a bit of a surprise here.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: Statlander winning pretty clean and correct me if I'm wrong.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: She did pin the champion in terms of what the seat belt.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, shout out Wheeler Euda, right.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_02]: and then he did, and then she used his move to win.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's a very interesting there.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: I did have at the at the presser because they were talking at Statland was talking about you, and I was going to ask, like, okay, you're you're kind of sharing on you to here, but you used his seat belt finish for the win.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: What's that all about?
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: Could we put, you know, like, oh, should we take something from that?
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: And unfortunately Tony can't really wanted to make clear that she used the seat belt and said, and like, basically bought it up.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was interesting on the collision portion of Dynamite this week with Tony coming out and
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: kind of being like if this is my last time with a title like it's been a great time and almost like cutting her losing promo before the match.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if she's taking some time off after this.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think Statlander is the right choice.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: There's a built-in story there with Willow.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: She's obviously flirting with the Death Raiders and everything going on there.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: For me, it was, if you were going to have a title change, it was probably between her and Tecler who I think's getting some momentum as well, but I think Tony's done about everything there is to do.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: She's faced everyone there is to face at this point and I'm glad it wasn't dropped by someone else in the map to get him pinned.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and yeah, this just strikes up the division a bit with Statlander moving forward super thrilled about Statlander.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we go way back aliens.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: We both love them.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_02]: We both are them.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's great that she's one is she the first person to be both TBS and
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: women's world champion.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what they made a point about saying when she won that.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: So pretty cool for her.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_02]: She's been in a w like day one.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like if you go all the way back, best friends and again, the alien and everything, obviously having so many injuries set her back.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_02]: I've always been a huge fan.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the last year the stuff with Willow was fantastic.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: So obviously you could go back towards that stuff.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like she does kind of make senses as a heal.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_02]: I always liked when she was the bubbly alien.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_02]: But she's kind of scary.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: She's kind of gangster.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_02]: So like I kind of like when they lean into when she leans into that.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: So I think you could do Tony versus the stat one on one at the next paper view and have her be Tony and really like.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_02]: Send Tony away for a little bit and then go forward where we'd go next.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think this match could have went.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think maybe we didn't expect Statlander because like tech like you said is had this great Real quick rise becoming a really prominent character and love watching her wrestle in that spiderwalk and everything But but Jamie the history there with how like she be Tony and and and all that so I thought this is a really fun match But I was genuinely shocked and and surprised at
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: Stat winning and I'm excited going forward because I know she can she can breathe.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_02]: She can be a real champion.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: I I love her so we've also got the Harley Cameron Dory Well, with them being best friends.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're low warning Harley about Chris.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I think you do you've opened the door to lots of different challenges and possibilities and Turns character turns that kind of thing with making Chris the child.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for sure
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, we then move on to the AW World Tag Team Championship all the way ladder match, uh, Bro Ddo, depending against the young bucks, jet speed, and Josh Alexander and headchists Cero, uh, was cool seeing Josh Alexander getting his moment in the Scotiabank.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_02]: Speedball 2, speedball, speedball and Josh Alexander.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_02]: I've watched wrestle in gymnasiums and community centers for like 10 years plus Josh obviously Ontario based being in so many Toronto or
- 53:24[SPEAKER_02]: Ontario Indy shows and sometimes wrestling in front of 50 people through the years.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_02]: So to finally have his moment here at the Scotchomank was awesome.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_02]: But the same for speedball.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_02]: I know he's from Quebec, but he's he wrestled so much in the Ontario scene here.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: And thank he was.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: He was landlocked here in Canada for a while wrestling.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_02]: So he was the guy here in Canada to see him get a huge moment like this arena in Toronto in our country of Canada was I know Must have been very special for both Josh and speedball so shout out to those two guys and holy shit
- 53:59[SPEAKER_02]: Did anyone else need a smoke after this match because this was mental?
- 54:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, look what it says on the tin.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_02]: Look at this.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: Look at these four teams of just psychopaths.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: And now it's a ladder match.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: This was crazy.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait to go back.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: We are there live and we haven't had time to go back and watch the broadcast.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_02]: But a few matches from this show come to mind.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_02]: I think I need to rewatch this one.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: Just how crazy some of these spots.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: I know at one point, me and you jumped out of our seats with our hands on it on each other's shoulders when the Brody King hits a like a recce driver through a ladder on speed ball or something like that we had almost like the J. Lee Thull MSG moment where a ladder just got thrown in with a proud which was yeah terrifying very scary but also we're going yeah.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: They don't pull out the tall ladder in this match, all the ladders were the same high and there's these tables set and maybe you don't quite get the perspective on TV, but the tables are set like five sides, but quite far away from the ring and normally you go, well, that's the that the tall ladder spot because it goes further.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: We're watching, and we're going, how are they going through that?
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: And seconds later, you have, I think it was Brody King, and we'll take a head to Sarah, or Jeff Shalksander, pick up the latter while, uh,
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin, Kevin Knights on it, move it across the ring.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: While he's on it, it begins the outside.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, okay, I guess you, yeah, I guess lots of my questions.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was a bunch of us, again, we're kind of sitting with a different bunch of like media people in wrestling world in the wrestling world.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_02]: And all of us during that spot were like, that is too far.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_02]: That ladder's not big enough.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_02]: And then as we're all discussing this, they literally carry
- 55:51[SPEAKER_02]: Kevin night and throw them like oh, and we were like, okay, they proved us wrong.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, these these guys went out there as do all wrestlers Always go out there and put their bodies on the line for our entertainment, but these these eight guys here Eight guys yeah, how many are you?
- 56:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they went out and just went went local like I can't wait to rewatch this one There was some in like the young bucks still got it in my opinion.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_02]: They never really fucking lost it in the gimmick with them and
- 56:17[SPEAKER_02]: be in broke and then getting money again and you're as you say the Delboy and then gimmick like I'm interested and they didn't know this would become one of my favorite things this year but this tag team yeah they they'd go to be broke by when it's like day they went they spent it all at the Niagara Falls
- 56:36[SPEAKER_02]: Just you know, or something, but yeah, this was absolutely mental.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like just the spots that they come up with.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_02]: I actually wanted to ask the question, but I got cut off in the presser of like Brody King brought up like Brod, sorry, Bandito did a moon salt with a ladder onto everyone and
- 56:54[SPEAKER_02]: Brody was like I guess if you want to do that yet do it fuck it and then he didn't as like yeah, that was crazy It's like how do they come up with these nuts so spots because like I have I praise that 450 spot that they do like okay He was basically saying where like
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: Brody would come up with an idea and Bandido's like, okay, that's cool, but it needs to be crazy What if we then did this and Brody's like is it?
- 57:20[SPEAKER_01]: Is it possible?
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: Can we do that?
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, what I I love that they're going Uh, fun the pun but all in with these two that they're putting a lot of steam behind them now and protecting that's not been together for too long
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: What I find interesting is, you know, you look at Brody King.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's a scary-looking mother fucker.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_01]: aesthetically, how to black, makes a lot of sense.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: And Alice to black together makes a lot of sense.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_01]: Probably listening to the same kind of music.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I didn't get this level of personality out of him then agreed.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's with Bandito.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think they've got just this.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: It seems you look at them at the presser and it seems like it's a genuine relationship, genuine friendship between the two.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: where they're both bringing something out of the other guy, and like I certainly felt in that presser just brody king just came across so, like...
- 58:15[SPEAKER_01]: He reminds me of our friend Big Tom, just like a lovable, big giant, who's a little bit of a softy, despite the hard exterior, you know?
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what's really clicking with this team.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what's really gonna propel Brody to bigger single things, you know, who's mental plastic this year and stuff like that.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_01]: I do see singles gold for Brody down the line now, where I didn't necessarily before.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know what, it's funny to say that because when he's been in those stables, those groups, he's just been kind of the big scary guy who barks.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_02]: And now we're seeing he's actually like a human being.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_02]: And as we always know, in wrestling, the best characters, the extensions of your true self.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 58:58[SPEAKER_02]: he might be tatted up big scary mother fucker but deep down he's exalted dude it's coming out that way finally i i finally seeing the like the person that we we you know we've seen know have cameo's and i think you should leave ten robins and stuff when you realize seems like a pretty sick dude and now he's
- 59:17[SPEAKER_02]: with Bandito who's had one hell of a fucking year.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_02]: Cannot stress enough if you've not watched the Takesh Dematch from all in a weekend, or the Hedge of Saramatch, our way to upload it for free on their YouTube.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's had one hell of a year on top of that being in match like this, being tagged champion.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 59:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, really love these two as a team, really love this match up there from one of my just this hit like the way those old school chaotic ladder matches the one funny thing is they probably wrestled for like 10 minutes without anyone actually going to grab the title until finally it was like all right they so they play the ladder match like how we play when we played in the video games, but
- 59:54[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna weaken the other people.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_02]: One of my favorite Latin matches in recent memory was this one for sure in quite a while.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_02]: But loved it.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then we had the main event, Hangman Adam Page versus Kyle Fletcher, I think this match went what did it go in the end 38 minutes, 10 seconds, I did mention there was a bit of almost fear from some of this crowd that they were going to go long, I did think it was paste quite slow, like the first 10 minutes, which with a show that length, I do think it brought it down a bit, but
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_01]: When they got going, I really got into this.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't necessarily bite on any Carl Fletcher moments as much as I thought I would in the kind of preview show I was like they might be able to
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, pull off a bit of a shock here and if you're going to make a guy, that's the way to do it.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_01]: But I felt as the match went on.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty safe that Hangman was going to win this, but still like the stuff these guys do, they're crazy.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_01]: They hang dead eyes through tables and apron spots and brainbuster spots.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think Fletcher will be a champion one day.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it will be sooner rather than later.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, absolutely.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_02]: I really love this match.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, going almost 40 minutes.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_02]: That is a long match.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_02]: The pacing was a bit slow.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_02]: And as I kind of mentioned off the top, the crowd were so tired.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_02]: This is already going into four plus hours.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: This is already at like 420.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_02]: Great number to be at.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_02]: But just.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're already really, really tired.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's been there for some people have been there for five.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_02]: If you count the people who watch the pre-show.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: So people were getting tired and then another thing to notice from being their live, I don't know how it came across.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_02]: But in the early few minutes of the match, you could hear the crowd chanting, turn the lights off.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_02]: And we keep hearing these things at different shows, not just A, W, but a lot at W, W shows, where they do something with the lights that must fuck with some people's vision in certain sections,
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they want to line the crowd, you know, this is the biggest AW crowd they've had for quite a few weeks and they want to like that up and show the people there but unfortunately it's people that have spent a lot of money have a great big fucking light in their eyes.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it can be annoying like so the lighting look good at least it didn't go in our eyes, but we could hear the reaction of people being like, I can't I can't see so like on top of being a little tired or worn out by.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_02]: hour, five or whatever, and then all of a sudden these lights that weren't in your face the whole show now are in your face I think maybe they could look into it.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_02]: I was noticing some of the ring crew people like it was being talked about I think people were talking just to just a robber to is then running around and then you can see the lights were changing and then the crowd with chant and then other people would be like, no wait.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_02]: Now it's in our eyes, turn this off.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_01]: So it was weird though because there wasn't like this was a long show and there wasn't a problem with this until the very last match with the strange and I actually thought once they did actually turn off like the house lights if you will.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_01]: It made it feel more special because it felt like the main event.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_01]: Now you've got the serious lighting where it's just the ring is being lit and it's the focus on that.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, this match was lit.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_02]: This match was great.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean Kyle has had one hell of a year and the
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think he totally more than delivered in a match against the world champion in a way that had some people even in the moment There was some some some kickouts and some crazy stuff the brain busters and all that, but they they really had chemistry with each other They were like, you know, one step of being had each other in the right spot at the right time at like all
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_02]: through the match and going 40 minutes is no easy feat.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure so hats off to both these guys.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_02]: One of the best matches on the show.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_02]: I can't tell if this was my favorite one.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_02]: I know we met up with a bunch of friends later in the night and the consensus was everyone was saying they loved this match the most and then then I was saying the triple threat and you were saying the title.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone kind of does have their own thing but I'm seeing some praise for this match and I do have to watch it back on TV but yeah it did deliver for me.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_02]: Hangman is the guy.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_02]: He has
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_02]: with everyone.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: I know Kyle being champ going into Wembley versus a returning will would be an awesome story But I just didn't think what was the story?
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's not ready yet, and I think that's the great story that he's not, but you had him kicking out of buck shots and huge moves, and then what was it like a
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_02]: avalanche dead eye followed by the biggest buckshot ever.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_02]: So it was like a super super finisher combo for hangman to put him down.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_02]: So really got into this.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_02]: I love that they teased you with the Don Callis TNT title stuff.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_02]: This and that yada yada yada and then in the end did not go to that whatsoever and just had a wrestling match.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, this one will probably be talked about.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure a lot of people really got into this one delivered from me.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_01]: We did skip over one big moment on the show as well.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_01]: What's that?
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, kind of jungle boy.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, how could we forget?
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we had the young bucks after the match.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_02]: Jack Perry comes out, flips them off, beats them up, and then somehow gets beat up by the young bucks.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how that happened.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: Jack, you'd return only for the guys who just got beat up in a ladder match to beat you up.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_02]: his friend.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, what's a boy without his dinosaur and the crowd signaling me being one of them.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_02]: I've been calling it for it for weeks.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_02]: Just fuck it.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_02]: Bring back his dinosaur.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_02]: Bring back the best wrestling song of all time.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_02]: Bring back Tarzan boy.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_02]: Jurassic Express reunited in Toronto.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_02]: Very nice.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_02]: You love to see it.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know, why not go back to these guys?
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's, you know, it's, it's two years now since, uh, all in Wembley, all in, if you will.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_01]: And Perry's had a rough time since then.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he was suspended.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_01]: He disappeared for a few months.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_01]: He showed up in New Japan.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_01]: Came back with the state-gochemic gave him a TNT title on there, even gave him a World Championship shot.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_01]: And,
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_01]: it just, it wasn't connecting, you, you still got the sense like a lot of the crowd maybe had some animosity towards him because the whole situation with punk.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_01]: The,
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_01]: There were so many loose ends with him and the elite, you know, he'd the stuff with Kenny and then Kenny comes back and just completely brushes past anything that happened with Jack Perry and then Perry was able again, like he completely disappeared.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_01]: I almost feel like I don't know.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_01]: I got, I got the sense where it's not just from
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Tony Khan, but maybe from the audience.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_01]: Him coming back.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: But is it Baltimore playing and all that?
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_01]: your punishment has been served.
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're forgiven now.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just have you back in the role we love you as.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_01]: And that's jungle boy that dinosaurs little, little friend.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_01]: We can all sing your song and waver arms around.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully it's a bit of a clean slate.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I actually think this is good for Luke to saw us as well, who it's been a bit of a weird return for him with that little Christian, kept Sabian feuds they had going.
- 1:07:19[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a reset.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_01]: I can completely get behind.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, me too.
- 1:07:24[SPEAKER_02]: I know we can just kind of forget some of this stuff.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't work when like it was last year, right?
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_02]: It was double voices Danielson, but he's a good wrestler, but something is definitely something that whether it's like a charisma or the Mike work character, something
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_02]: We started doing the song, the wave.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_02]: Almost like they knew we were gonna do it.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost like Tony knew, like, all right, this is gonna set up perfectly.
- 1:08:01[SPEAKER_02]: And later in the press conference, he admits, like, I just took a chance that, hopefully the people would start doing that.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_02]: That wave and, or the, oh, Baltimore and it did work.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I do love that song so much so.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_01]: And it means we'll get the return of TAS singing as well, which is true.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, great.
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_02]: Even better for a future Vachemania episode.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm curious what Brian Danielson's thoughts on this song.
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_01]: Because I feel, you know, he loves final countdown.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought he's got a pretty cheesy taste in music.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I can see Danielson getting on board with this one.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_01]: Probably loves it.
- 1:08:34[SPEAKER_02]: He probably, well, he loves wrestlers fighting animals.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_02]: Some dinosaur being back.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure he's okay with.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_01]: So like overall I'd say like for me it was, you know, we commented it was a long show, but I thought the pacing for the most part was pretty good.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't feel quite as long as it actually was.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't say there was necessarily a bad match on the show, but this didn't reach that level of top tier AEW for me and that's because the bar is so, so high.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there was a match on this show that I'd necessarily be thinking about when putting my list together at the end of the year, but that, again, doesn't mean it's a bad show.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I just think they've had some really, really talk shows.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_01]: It, since the inception of this company, and I wouldn't put this in that list, but thoroughly enjoyable time as well.
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_02]: I do agree.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to make that a negative thing.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think this was a knockout for AEW in Toronto like the crowd want to be there.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_02]: The people are invested.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_02]: The energy is definitely infectious and you know, they do.
- 1:09:44[SPEAKER_02]: We've been to them this year at a stadium.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_02]: We've been to them in smaller venues.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen them in smaller venues and having them here at the ACC the Scotchabank.
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_02]: uh... it was good to see and i hopefully they do come back with another paper view like within a year you know they keep going back to the same place is
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_02]: for certain shows like new work keeps getting full gear and this and that.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_02]: But I would like to have a yearly paper view in Toronto.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like again, we saw a lot of people travel in for this.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_02]: September is still a pretty good time for Toronto.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_02]: You saw people getting into it in the city.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_02]: We had just down the street, smash wrestling, and then today mystery wrestling, doing two shows, obviously they had to move their things around with the 3pm start time and everything.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and then like we didn't event.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_02]: There wasn't really a whole lot of other events going on around like the Friday Saturdays on day, but Those enough like you had the wrestling fans taking over like the downtown and it was really cool to see, but yeah
- 1:10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I wonder like, and I don't want to get into politics and stuff here, but I was surprised with the amount of UK fans and I met a couple of Germans as well.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I was surprised by the amount of traveling fans from further than just, you know, just across the pond like a buffalo or Detroit or whatever like that.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I wonder how much is to do with a lot of the stuff going on in the States right now and people being like want to go to an AEW show, you know, let's give Canada a go I'd rather go and support Canada right now than I don't know if that plays any part of it, but I was surprised and I I didn't I haven't noticed say at like forbidden door.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't notice as many grits over here as I did this time.
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I remember there being a lot of people traveling in forbidden door a few years ago, felt more rabid, I'd say that was still a better show than this all out show, but again, not knocking I give this to this show two thumbs up, but being spoiled and going to a lot of epic.
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_02]: eight W shows over the last like I don't know if this one ranks as my my all-time favorite but the city is wrong over here and they put on a really good show I think people will be talking about hangman and flat shore that three way and the latter match definitely are gonna stick out in my my brain from attending this one live and I think I gotta rewatch them on like
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_02]: the broadcast version.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's, I think it's also, hey, do you want to travel to Las Vegas and pay an arm in a leg just to have a working refrigerator in my hotel room?
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_02]: Or do you want to go to Saudi next year for WrestleMania?
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_02]: No, okay.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_02]: Do you want to fly to
- 1:12:28[SPEAKER_02]: That will cast you way too much money.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_01]: At the very first time of year, September time, you know, everyone's back at school and work.
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of things flights Toronto to like London to Toronto and back isn't too much this time of year, at least when I've looked in the past.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's good at WWE.
- 1:12:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's good at WWE's expenses.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Just to go by yourself to go with your a solo ticket might be the cheapest variable option because there's always random floating tickets around and this and that But to go with friends or family like to go to a WWE not just a raw or Smackdown, but a PLE in 2025 You hear TKO talking about it.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_02]: They're not ashamed to say we're gouging our fans and fucking them over and Maybe people are like, ah, actually for the price of a ticket.
- 1:13:10[SPEAKER_02]: I could go
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_02]: to a completely different city and get a flight and a hotel for the price of what I would pay.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_02]: And the ticket won't even be that bad for an AEW show.
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_02]: And we've traveled a lot for AEW shows and we've traveled a lot for WWE shows.
- 1:13:23[SPEAKER_02]: And we're always feeling like we get our money's worth when it's the AEW weekends, for sure.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think this is real opportunity in the next year with WWE being so blatant about, you know,
- 1:13:38[SPEAKER_01]: They don't care about families.
- 1:13:40[SPEAKER_01]: They don't care about families.
- 1:13:41[SPEAKER_01]: They care about their families.
- 1:13:42[SPEAKER_01]: With the, you know, now you have to,
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_01]: your ESPN happened, paper, paper views in certain places, and all that.
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_01]: All these different ways how expensive it's getting.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_01]: They've dropped the house shows.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is the first year we're not going to be getting the like Christmas MSG show.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_01]: We used to have the the tour come to Toronto the house shows around Christmas time.
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_01]: They've done away with so many of those house shows, which used to be where families could afford to see the product and things like that.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we were lucky enough to attend the presser after, and Tony was speaking glowingly about London Ontario, which was a great crowd on Wednesday.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_01]: We went to the collision there.
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_01]: A year ago, a collision,
- 1:14:28[SPEAKER_01]: We went to this bar right before it started, it was about 715 collision starts at 8 and the bar was empty and the bartenders like boys what are you doing you're missing the show we're like oh it starts at 8 and we realized everyone was in their seats for ring of honor now that's not normally the case but yeah so dedicated to see this show and so dedicated and I think that's what you're going to get from
- 1:14:52[SPEAKER_01]: cities like London.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's a perfect size of rena for aW where it's going to sell loud.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to get diehard fans going who are just into everything and just kind of happy for things to be coming to their city.
- 1:15:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it was eye opening, Tony Khan was saying in the presser about I was telling all my talent like, hey, this crowd's going to be really good, this crowd's going to be really good.
- 1:15:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it was.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I think you're going to see, you know, he's moved away from Chicago now for for all out.
- 1:15:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's moving things around different places.
- 1:15:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think their strategy should absolutely be
- 1:15:28[SPEAKER_01]: focusing on families, uping their marketing, having people on local radio and local morning breakfast TV and that kind of stuff, getting people out there a bit more to advertise.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_01]: go to some of these more underserved paths.
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like New Orleans makes all the sense in the world, right?
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, picked around by it, it seems like two years in a row.
- 1:15:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:15:55[SPEAKER_01]: From Estamania, okay, it's actually going to be Vegas this year.
- 1:15:59[SPEAKER_01]: not outright said, but kind of hinted, you'll probably get it next year, and then Saudi getting it, and who knows, it could be the permanent home now, Saudi Arabia or Las Vegas or whatever.
- 1:16:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I feel that's a market you could go to.
- 1:16:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's a destination that certainly from WrestleMania's and stuff, people want to travel to.
- 1:16:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's been on our list.
- 1:16:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's been on your list to go to for a long time.
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's been on my list to go back to for a long time.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think doing those kind of markets, exploring a bit, you know you're going to get a big crowd in the UK, they're doing some of these other shows around the UK this time could possibly do a bit of a longer tour, do a show in Germany or something like that as well.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think
- 1:16:44[SPEAKER_01]: that's going to continue to momentum and as much as WWE are pricing out, fans, people still want to see live wrestling and they might go, I don't really watch this product, but I know some of the names and it's only 40 bucks a ticket or I can take my family for under 150 under the cost of one ticket, you know, for WWE, they're going to start growing fans that way, I think.
- 1:17:09[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, something I've said for a long time is they have to do more promotion and you know, that's people's jobs is to figure out markets and figure out where to go and I think if you do a paper viewing a big city like Toronto being the biggest city in Canada and then London is about a two-hour drive from Toronto.
- 1:17:28[SPEAKER_02]: Doing a collision or a dynamite,
- 1:17:31[SPEAKER_02]: Leading up to the paper view or after the paper view.
- 1:17:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's in the bigger city is smart because now you Those same people are like actually I'm gonna may probably make that by to the to the bigger city for the bigger show And even if you don't actually I don't really go to Toronto that often, but I get to go to dynamite get to see some cool stuff on that show And I mean they made it an awesome September to remember Part in the pun so like I think it worked out and I think London will definitely get another show But like you said when they go to other
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_02]: countries and stuff like yeah doing that promotion this time around I noticed they sent edge they sent cope out to all the places to do interviews radio stations TSN radio stations just outside of the Toronto market to get those other people to come to the city this weekend for a 3pm wrestling show which sounds great to promote so I think they did a whole lot of promotion obviously it helped having a hometown boy with with cope and Christian and stuff but
- 1:18:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think they did a really good job.
- 1:18:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think the merch game was better.
- 1:18:27[SPEAKER_01]: This match round, like, you know, you have those all out, like Toronto, like hockey jerseys and stuff like that.
- 1:18:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was a little better on the merch from this time round.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_01]: Got a live comment here from my roommate Graham who took a friend with them, who's
- 1:18:44[SPEAKER_01]: Not a big wrestling fan went to SummerSlam with us a few years ago, but he said that he was impressed and happy to see how AEW wasn't as corporate as WWE and it shows they don't just care about the dollars.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:18:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's totally like I remember Was it my brother went to full for been door and Toronto he didn't really know anything about and he was like, oh my god, and then Same time around this way where some friends took other friends to the show just because it's like I can even buy my friend to take it because it's $40 or whatever.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like if my friend doesn't like wrestling then I'll buy or take it and hopefully you have a good time by me beer or whatever, but
- 1:19:19[SPEAKER_02]: like majority people were like, hey, this wasn't even WWE.
- 1:19:22[SPEAKER_02]: This was something else.
- 1:19:23[SPEAKER_02]: This was way cooler.
- 1:19:24[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't sit there for three hours of commercials and this and that, like at least there's action, right?
- 1:19:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's almost like, hey, come to this music festival.
- 1:19:34[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to know some of these bands and some of these songs, but trust me, some of these other acts are probably what you're going to be remembering.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 1:19:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly.
- 1:19:42[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not being infectious, right?
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like you just go to see something and like say it, you're there when everyone's singing Jungle Boys theme.
- 1:19:51[SPEAKER_01]: And you don't know who this guy is, but everyone around you is doing their arms and singing along and saying, all right, this is fun.
- 1:19:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'll join in.
- 1:20:00[SPEAKER_01]: And it is infectious.
- 1:20:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that the audience are such a huge part of it.
- 1:20:05[SPEAKER_01]: And the more you price out these people, you're going to lose some of that for sure.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I got to give two thumbs up for all out in Toronto after that we did get to go to we were racially invited to the post-pressor in the Scotia bank arena walking the halls.
- 1:20:27[SPEAKER_02]: of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
- 1:20:29[SPEAKER_02]: That was pretty cool.
- 1:20:29[SPEAKER_02]: We got to sit down and go through Tony Khan and Renee and then some of the winners of the night and we even got to ask some questions.
- 1:20:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's what we're kind of on the subject of Toronto and different markets you could run.
- 1:20:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see if the question you asked Tony Khan.
- 1:20:49[SPEAKER_02]: Hey Tony, uh, Braden Harrington here from Poison, Ron, I want to say a great show here.
- 1:20:53[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, got to shout out the real London, London, Ontario again.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's right.
- 1:20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Great Canadian fans seem to love a W and after another great paper view tonight, can the fans expect another paper view possibly in the greater Toronto area?
- 1:21:09[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:21:10[SPEAKER_02]: Possibly the Skydome One Day.
- 1:21:11[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
- 1:21:16[SPEAKER_00]: what it's what I don't know what I like good friends like good friends or Rogers would understand they would understand I yeah I but that being said yeah that's that's another greatest work then you I'm really
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_00]: proud to be here in Scotia Bank Arena.
- 1:21:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very proud that we made history here again that it's our most tickets we've ever sold in Canada another million dollar gate here.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's real history we've made in Scotia Bank.
- 1:21:43[SPEAKER_00]: You can bet there's definitely going to be another paper of you in Toronto and I'm
- 1:21:48[SPEAKER_00]: Quite confident.
- 1:21:48[SPEAKER_00]: We'll do another paper view here in Scotia Bank.
- 1:21:50[SPEAKER_00]: There are great venues in Toronto and like you said that one of them Absolutely is Rogers Center.
- 1:21:56[SPEAKER_00]: There are some great places here with that great history Renee arrived in the Coca-Cola Colosseum three years ago Okay, and then we've scaled up we had forbidden door here and then we had now all out our most successful all out in history the seventh edition of all out the most tickets We've ever sold
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_00]: He had all these great milestones here in Toronto, 100% will do another paper view here in Toronto, and I also think there are other great cities in Canada that could be great potential paper viewhold.
- 1:22:24[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for asking this.
- 1:22:25[SPEAKER_00]: Support we've gotten here in Canada is first class.
- 1:22:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, great.
- 1:22:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, what I got from that is somewhere else in Canada, you guys are getting a show soon.
- 1:22:35[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Vancouver, you know, they haven't got a paint review.
- 1:22:38[SPEAKER_02]: Montréal and other hotbed big city.
- 1:22:40[SPEAKER_01]: They're both I mean I was just out east this week and I can't think of any wrestling ever going through you know your your Halifax is of the world or whatever.
- 1:22:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if it's yeah
- 1:22:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, it's there's certainly areas to target.
- 1:22:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think, yeah, Vancouver and Montréal would make a whole lot of sense to do.
- 1:22:59[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it does see he kind of sounded like in that answer.
- 1:23:03[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, it will be a yearly thing that we're in Canada running and not just a dynamite but a paper view as well.
- 1:23:10[SPEAKER_02]: selfishly as a fan I really want another paper view like already it happened yesterday and i'm like okay when are you announcing the next one like announce it in as far as you can so that it gives people the opportunity to plan ahead because now we've seen firsthand there's a lot of people traveling into our great city so uh super cool that uh
- 1:23:30[SPEAKER_02]: We got to I got to ask him that, but I know I was I was poking the barrel a little bit with the skydome reference.
- 1:23:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think one day it's possible, but I as a fan, I don't know if it's necessarily in the near futures and he was quick to brush that off.
- 1:23:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, we love the Scotia bank and I think if you were going to run the dome.
- 1:23:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think you, you try and do it.
- 1:23:53[SPEAKER_01]: You do it 2027, right?
- 1:23:56[SPEAKER_01]: You do it as a make good for no WrestleMania.
- 1:23:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you get, you talk to your Brett Lordedels of GCW and all these other indie feds and stuff to be like, we are, they're not doing something.
- 1:24:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, they pick a city and they're like, we're all doing this city this weekend.
- 1:24:16[SPEAKER_01]: And you can piggyback of us, we can piggyback off of you.
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_01]: And let's make this hour, hour rest of my new weekend.
- 1:24:24[SPEAKER_01]: Our revolution weekend or whatever it is.
- 1:24:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the way you consult tickets for the dome.
- 1:24:30[SPEAKER_01]: But Scotia is a great venue.
- 1:24:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big venue.
- 1:24:33[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds great.
- 1:24:34[SPEAKER_01]: It looks full.
- 1:24:35[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I so as a fan, I can't wait for them to come back to scholarship.
- 1:24:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like I hope we get a paper view next year announced soon.
- 1:24:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's he's pretty quick to be like, hey, we're just coming back for full year.
- 1:24:46[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, we're coming back like bring it bring all out next year to here because he said it's the biggest gate for all out because they have only done all out in that.
- 1:24:55[SPEAKER_02]: now arena which is really tiny the home of all in that we've been to so it's like yeah this is a way bigger venue and Canada is one of the cities and crowds that show up so i hope this is a yearly thing not just saying all out is but wouldn't be mad if next year is back here it looks like he likes doing the like back to back
- 1:25:13[SPEAKER_02]: kind of things with full year and et cetera, et cetera.
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_02]: But really, would be excited for it, Toronto, to get more of a WWE.
- 1:25:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I imagine the next time, we'll see more like smash mystery wrestling, maybe GCW, like we'll see even more stuff happening in the city while all the wrestling is here.
- 1:25:29[SPEAKER_02]: But to stay on the topic of like, wow,
- 1:25:32[SPEAKER_02]: WrestleMania in Saudi in 2027, like he's already kind of answered some questions I did want to ask him more, but that's where you would do know that.
- 1:25:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like that in 2027, that is when you do all in maybe earlier he's mentioning Revolution because it's in that timeframe, but like do some huge show where instead of all these people traveling to, you know, Saudi for WrestleMania, they won't, and instead they'll go to somewhere in North America, and I think New Orleans
- 1:26:01[SPEAKER_02]: in 2027 would probably be your best bet to get the most people in there for a weekend of some great wrestling.
- 1:26:10[SPEAKER_02]: That isn't the big corporate WWE machine there, but yeah, I do hope that is something that they're working on.
- 1:26:17[SPEAKER_02]: And it kind of sounds like it's already
- 1:26:20[SPEAKER_02]: in the in the works there not even not even next year but like this year as well being Vegas and people are already over the Vegas thing I know I am so like as long as WrestleMania is in Vegas and Saudi like I will not be doing a WrestleMania weekend and I think that's a lot of people so
- 1:26:35[SPEAKER_02]: your alternative is become your main supply and it's been that way for AW.
- 1:26:40[SPEAKER_02]: They were telling you.
- 1:26:41[SPEAKER_02]: I really love the crowd last night.
- 1:26:43[SPEAKER_02]: I love the show and I want more in Toronto.
- 1:26:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I would travel to shows.
- 1:26:48[SPEAKER_02]: I would travel a Montreal Vancouver for some paper views.
- 1:26:51[SPEAKER_02]: So we will see.
- 1:26:52[SPEAKER_01]: I was able to get a question in as well.
- 1:26:55[SPEAKER_01]: I told you, David Portman from Poison,
- 1:27:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you've got a lot of European fans.
- 1:27:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's actually so much more convenient.
- 1:27:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's like 8 p.m.
- 1:27:08[SPEAKER_01]: 7 p.m.
- 1:27:08[SPEAKER_01]: in the UK and the rest of Europe.
- 1:27:10[SPEAKER_01]: Would you consider it as a permanent move moving forwards?
- 1:27:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely something to think about.
- 1:27:14[SPEAKER_00]: Especially on Saturdays with the way the schedule works and what we're doing.
- 1:27:19[SPEAKER_00]: I do think there's something to it.
- 1:27:20[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be something to consider also on some of the Sundays.
- 1:27:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's been tremendous for three straight pay per views.
- 1:27:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think the point you're making is definitely something I've taken into consideration all in Texas.
- 1:27:31[SPEAKER_00]: that early start time and having that manageable start time in the UK it made sense then we were in London at the O2 for forbidden door and that did have that same kind of domestic here in North America that kind of afternoon start time like today show tonight show and that's a third straight paper view that's had an afternoon start time in
- 1:27:56[SPEAKER_00]: The East Coast, effectively, and the third straight paper view that's been on in prime time in the UK, and we've had great results, great buys from the UK, the TV ratings in the UK are through the roof.
- 1:28:06[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 1:28:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's a huge consideration to us.
- 1:28:08[SPEAKER_00]: So that is a big part of it.
- 1:28:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm really glad you asked that because that's absolutely one of the considerations with we've thought about here.
- 1:28:16[SPEAKER_00]: And whether it's Saturday or Sunday, it's definitely giving me something to think about.
- 1:28:19[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 1:28:20[SPEAKER_02]: Great question.
- 1:28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's definitely something a lot of people maybe wanted him to talk about because I know we go on shows Davie and say we are proud supporters of Sunday.
- 1:28:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, oh yeah, and they p.l.s because Sundays is the day where you can you know you lounge some people works Saturdays if you don't work Saturdays you have plans family you're going out, but who wants to be inside on a Saturday just to watch more wrestling.
- 1:28:44[SPEAKER_02]: Not us, but when you announce it, it's Saturday during the day, meaning you got time to pre-game, you got time to tailgate, you got time to go out after and enjoy your evening or go home, because it's like seven o'clock or whatever when this the show ends.
- 1:28:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I love the three PM start time, actually.
- 1:29:03[SPEAKER_02]: Or shows going forward and I'm totally not against it.
- 1:29:06[SPEAKER_02]: And after you ask him that, it sounds like he's not against it because it does kind of work out.
- 1:29:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're perspective of like, hey, those those UK fans are a big part of the fans now and well, it's like, it's paper view isn't it it's not it's not streaming it's not like, oh, you can just watch it on your Netflix whenever you like it's we want our fans to spend $40 on this to watch it and you're not like,
- 1:29:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if I'm in the UK and I'm like, oh, I'm not staying up to 1 a.m.
- 1:29:35[SPEAKER_01]: to watch this.
- 1:29:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'll watch it the next day.
- 1:29:36[SPEAKER_01]: And am I going to spend $40 the next day to watch it when I know I can just find it online?
- 1:29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 1:29:44[SPEAKER_01]: At that point, whereas live in the moment, you don't want those buffering issues.
- 1:29:48[SPEAKER_01]: You want to, you're happy to support the company.
- 1:29:51[SPEAKER_01]: And you want to, you've got your friends over.
- 1:29:53[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably not having your friends over at 1 a.m.
- 1:29:55[SPEAKER_01]: to watch a paper view.
- 1:29:56[SPEAKER_01]: You might as 7 p.m.
- 1:29:58[SPEAKER_01]: to watch it or 8 p.m.
- 1:29:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I know like some wrestling fans are sports fans as we're learning from ESPN as we'll get into some WWE talk in a second.
- 1:30:06[SPEAKER_02]: But people watch sports all it's all day thing like football is on right now or whatever right like isn't like isn't this all day you watch this stuff and and everything and then by the end of the day your day drinking you're like, oh, I can just go to bed and
- 1:30:19[SPEAKER_02]: go to enjoy my morning and not feel like I've been awake or went to bed at 4 a.m.
- 1:30:23[SPEAKER_02]: or whatever.
- 1:30:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I do like these changes and I think we should do some more of them in the future.
- 1:30:29[SPEAKER_02]: Not just a counter act, the counter acting of WWE.
- 1:30:33[SPEAKER_02]: But just like, hey, does this work for everyone?
- 1:30:36[SPEAKER_02]: Do you guys mind this?
- 1:30:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what he's kind of.
- 1:30:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think on that topic, though, with counter programming, I couldn't necessarily see WWE counter programming.
- 1:30:47[SPEAKER_01]: with a day show, unless it's an NXT and we've seen that has worked for WWE, like I don't know if they'd be willing to put a unless it is an overseas event, would they want to put survivor series on that 3pm?
- 1:31:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't to go ahead.
- 1:31:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:31:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now, looking on ticket master, it seems that the current schedule time is for the next events, which they've got tickets on sale for Wrestle Dream, Full Gear and World, and which the pre-cells happening right now.
- 1:31:17[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like it's the regular evening time at the moment.
- 1:31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, they're all still quite a way away.
- 1:31:25[SPEAKER_01]: We have the announcement just two weeks go that the time is changing here.
- 1:31:28[SPEAKER_01]: I am curious, and selfishly, I'd love it to be earlier in the
- 1:31:32[SPEAKER_02]: The one thing is you do got to let people know because what if you're you have a flight and you land at 3 p.m.
- 1:31:38[SPEAKER_02]: To go to show and then they tell you hey actually the show starts at 3 p.m.
- 1:31:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that might annoy you, but maybe you would maybe plan ahead of not trying to get in that.
- 1:31:47[SPEAKER_02]: that late there.
- 1:31:48[SPEAKER_02]: But selfishly, we're going to full gear.
- 1:31:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want them to move it to 3 p.m.
- 1:31:52[SPEAKER_02]: because that 3 p.m.
- 1:31:53[SPEAKER_02]: I plan on being at the Shrek Water Park and then GCW at the mall show again.
- 1:31:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I would rather be at the presser at 7 p.m.
- 1:32:03[SPEAKER_01]: then 2 a.m.
- 1:32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:32:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:32:06[SPEAKER_02]: Those pressures go really long.
- 1:32:07[SPEAKER_02]: Now I understand.
- 1:32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we got some good questions in there.
- 1:32:11[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I'm going to put ourselves on the back.
- 1:32:13[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, what I really wanted to know was when it is a WDAR elevation coming to eye, you know, they shouldn't just let anyone into these treasures.
- 1:32:27[SPEAKER_02]: bless some of these people, but they're we're sitting there for what's pushing past two hours inside this presser and people are asking the most like I'm not saying what we asked maybe are not interesting to some people unsure they might be and I thought we thought they would be pretty interesting to ask our questions but some people are asking some mundane things like things that have nothing to do with the show things that no one really
- 1:32:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like cares about and it's just like head scratching like I was giving that stairs to you like what I what I noticed though was it's look this it this is the first time We've gone to one of these things, but I think we know like general like courtesy and respect.
- 1:33:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, okay ricochet and GLA come out start with and
- 1:33:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have anything to ask them, I can't, maybe if I was, if I knew a little bit in advance, I might be able to come up with some interesting questions, I can't think of anything other than, you know, your generic, how did it feel winning the match today?
- 1:33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Or so, which I'm not going to ask, because it's a point that's quest for my mind, yeah.
- 1:33:35[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, someone might ask something, and something that might be said by them, that then triggers a question in my head where I go, that's interesting.
- 1:33:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to know more about that.
- 1:33:46[SPEAKER_01]: The amount of people in this room who look like eight-year-olds at school trying to get their hand noticed by the teacher.
- 1:33:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're basing away from the presser that's going on in front to have that hand in the air like stretching turning around looking at the press guy in the eyes.
- 1:34:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I can fucking see you to then ask about when Naila Rose is returning.
- 1:34:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, dude, come on.
- 1:34:14[SPEAKER_01]: You don't really care about the question, you're just wanting to get your voice hurt.
- 1:34:18[SPEAKER_01]: At least that's how I took it.
- 1:34:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I just, yeah, just feel, and there were some of those people from, you know, big outlets as well, who were out in that way.
- 1:34:28[SPEAKER_01]: I found it quite surprising.
- 1:34:30[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 1:34:31[SPEAKER_02]: If you're a fan, poison Ron, please give us a follow.
- 1:34:34[SPEAKER_02]: Give us a subscribe, give us a like, retweet, listen to our shows and support.
- 1:34:40[SPEAKER_02]: If you like what we hear and you want to hear us, ask more questions that actually makes sense.
- 1:34:45[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we will continue to go to press conferences and shows and travel.
- 1:34:49[SPEAKER_02]: and we can only do that with more support out of the people worldwide.
- 1:34:53[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you to and again, anyone we met this weekend in Toronto with the all-out tailgates and anyone who's been supporting, we got to meet some listeners who've been listening to us from the beginning.
- 1:35:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I I super appreciate that.
- 1:35:07[SPEAKER_02]: Some people came in wearing Poison Ron at T-shirts at this event.
- 1:35:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it goes a long way.
- 1:35:12[SPEAKER_02]: I have worked in media for a long time and sometimes I wonder
- 1:35:17[SPEAKER_02]: and after having great experience like asking actual questions and my great tag team partner Davey asking great questions to see what are supposed to be called media and just piss me off a little bit there is like, come on.
- 1:35:31[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want us to continue being wrestling whatever media.
- 1:35:38[SPEAKER_02]: Give us a follow and patreon.com slash poison run a five bucks a month.
- 1:35:42[SPEAKER_02]: You get access to all the other shows that we do we're not news breakers We are not journalists, but what we are are people with level heads.
- 1:35:50[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:35:50[SPEAKER_02]: We are we call it as we see it.
- 1:35:53[SPEAKER_02]: We have no Fucking no one paying us
- 1:35:57[SPEAKER_02]: We just do it for the love of the game and the only reason we do podcast is just to pop the boys in the first place and talk about wrestling because we all don't necessarily have friends who like wrestling as much as we do so.
- 1:36:09[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for our TED talk and appreciate all the love out there.
- 1:36:13[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, keep the questions to what actually makes sense.
- 1:36:18[SPEAKER_01]: And listen, listen to other people, listen to what's being said, you know?
- 1:36:22[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to apologize as well to anyone who I met this weekend for like the second third, fourth time and I, I'm like, hey, what's the major like, yeah, we met in New York class here on my, I'm sorry.
- 1:36:35[SPEAKER_01]: We need a lot of people these days are often quite overwhelming and there are certainly brain cells being destroyed during these weekends as well.
- 1:36:41[SPEAKER_01]: So please don't take it personally and please keep coming as well.
- 1:36:46[SPEAKER_02]: uh... we did a we did a little uh... some some giveaways we did some raffles where we sell raffles and we give away some prizes we gave away a original dx socket jersey plus we had uh... air uh... jerico a w figure and mjf shirt plus a pentamask and a rameisterial mask and then tickets to demand luchus we had some great gifts and then long time listener leo who's come to some post wrestling events in the past i know he flew in from auto uh
- 1:37:15[SPEAKER_02]: And he won not only the DX jersey, but the Pentamask as well.
- 1:37:20[SPEAKER_02]: So big time winner at our event there.
- 1:37:22[SPEAKER_02]: So shout out again, long time listeners and new listeners out there.
- 1:37:26[SPEAKER_02]: We usually go live every Sunday here on Poison Rhona.
- 1:37:29[SPEAKER_02]: But again, we do so many other shows.
- 1:37:30[SPEAKER_02]: We do up next for post wrestling every Tuesday and everything.
- 1:37:34[SPEAKER_02]: But tons of different shows and content.
- 1:37:36[SPEAKER_02]: And so many ways you can support Poison Rhona.ca appreciate.
- 1:37:40[SPEAKER_02]: And hopefully you'll hear us ask some more questions down the line.
- 1:37:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'd appreciate the love for real and and thank you to everyone who donated prizes reckless rob
- 1:37:50[SPEAKER_01]: We see you, thank you so much.
- 1:37:52[SPEAKER_01]: You're always great at donating prizes for our raffles.
- 1:37:55[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Demon Lucha, as well, who always graciously give us a pair of tickets.
- 1:37:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's two of one of the best wrestling shows in Toronto.
- 1:38:02[SPEAKER_01]: So absolutely.
- 1:38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, looking forward to it.
- 1:38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully seeing some of you there this Thursday.
- 1:38:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure we shift gears a bit now.
- 1:38:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, let's,
- 1:38:18[SPEAKER_01]: I watched this in a couple of shifts.
- 1:38:20[SPEAKER_01]: I watched the first match when I got home last night and then kind of watched the rest of the morning.
- 1:38:27[SPEAKER_01]: tough, tough, shifting gears after going see like a great live show and I don't know I'm going to make this analogy with WWE right now.
- 1:38:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know when there's a comedian you just don't like, you don't find funny and then they come out and say a joke that maybe if another comedian you like said the same joke, you find it hysterical, but you get that like.
- 1:38:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to find that funny because that's coming from you.
- 1:38:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I feel with WWE right now.
- 1:38:54[SPEAKER_01]: I am so put off by just so many things involving this company.
- 1:38:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's politics.
- 1:39:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's greed.
- 1:39:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's corporatness.
- 1:39:05[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, we're kicking up this new huge corporate deal with ESPN.
- 1:39:09[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 1:39:10[SPEAKER_01]: it felt up moments on this show, it felt very like the debut of Netflix, where it's just rich people ranking off other rich people.
- 1:39:19[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it's the right way on this show.
- 1:39:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, okay, and it makes it hard.
- 1:39:28[SPEAKER_01]: There was some good resting on this show.
- 1:39:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it was a great show by any means.
- 1:39:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd say that without the bias attached.
- 1:39:35[SPEAKER_01]: But like,
- 1:39:37[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, like I found this hard to like shift from AEW to this WWE show this week.
- 1:39:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like WWE is not wrestling.
- 1:39:45[SPEAKER_02]: I know in the video packages for this ESPN beginning intro with Triple H, he does say the word wrestling quite a few times.
- 1:39:52[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, whoa, hey, you said the magic word.
- 1:39:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure not allowed to say that.
- 1:39:56[SPEAKER_02]: You never say that word, but they are not afraid to say we're not wrestling.
- 1:40:01[SPEAKER_02]: We're not pro wrestling.
- 1:40:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're a TV show that's about wrestling.
- 1:40:06[SPEAKER_02]: But we're what someone would say is a parody of what pro wrestling is.
- 1:40:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Vince McMahon took wrestling away from Bingo Halls and carnivals and put it in Madison Square Garden is what they just love to tell us.
- 1:40:20[SPEAKER_02]: And hey, WWE is on fire right now, no debate about it.
- 1:40:26[SPEAKER_02]: But they're bringing in a lot of the,
- 1:40:30[SPEAKER_02]: casual fans or the fans that used to be or the people who like it because their friends are like, oh, yo, Stone Cold, the rock, John Cena, but I don't think they, they really know a lot of the other stuff and one John Cena's gone like where are some of these people still gonna hang around hopefully, but I find their their necessity to just continuously jerk themselves off and expect
- 1:40:59[SPEAKER_02]: Headscratching.
- 1:41:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're in Canada.
- 1:41:01[SPEAKER_02]: We have that Netflix deal.
- 1:41:02[SPEAKER_02]: It is a sweet Netflix deal.
- 1:41:04[SPEAKER_02]: Meaning I can watch RAW and SmackDown if I'm fucking crazy enough to do every week.
- 1:41:09[SPEAKER_02]: Part of my Netflix, NXT, part of my Netflix, all the PLEs are free if you buy Netflix.
- 1:41:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I do, because I love those docs and I love stranger things.
- 1:41:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I get WWE part of my Netflix, that is awesome.
- 1:41:21[SPEAKER_02]: Hearing all this stuff for the US fans with this ESPN plus and making it so difficult that they had our truth out there to explain it or try to explain it.
- 1:41:30[SPEAKER_01]: Why, why did they have the most confusing character?
- 1:41:33[SPEAKER_01]: The character who is that character is the, uh, just like, he's stupid, he gets everything wrong, he's a jester, and he's trying to explain this to me.
- 1:41:44[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, yeah, and if you have, if you have come cast, you get your ESPN through this service, and then it's actually free, but if you've got this one, it's not free, but if you want to get the app, I'm like, what?
- 1:41:56[SPEAKER_01]: Please, just then be to ESPN.com slash WWE and you can take it from there.
- 1:42:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I found it.
- 1:42:05[SPEAKER_01]: Truth made it even more confusing than it needed to be.
- 1:42:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I feel for the American fans.
- 1:42:12[SPEAKER_02]: This is pretty expensive.
- 1:42:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like, this is testing you.
- 1:42:15[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, look, we're so popular right now that we're banking.
- 1:42:18[SPEAKER_02]: on you giving us more money.
- 1:42:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're expecting that you'll just bow and bend at the knee and give us what we're asking.
- 1:42:25[SPEAKER_02]: Because it sounds like it's a lot more money than what it was, the shadows of 999, WWE Network.
- 1:42:32[SPEAKER_02]: No more ashes that has become like I wouldn't personally.
- 1:42:37[SPEAKER_02]: I would probably stick to my watch on Twitter or watch on YouTube
- 1:42:43[SPEAKER_02]: watch wrestling in various means because I don't think I love it enough to pay for it.
- 1:42:49[SPEAKER_02]: I have no problem paying for my content if I go to a concert of a band.
- 1:42:53[SPEAKER_02]: I really like movies or arts or whatever.
- 1:42:55[SPEAKER_02]: I have no problem paying money for things that I think are worth my money.
- 1:43:00[SPEAKER_02]: And don't worry.
- 1:43:01[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't worth that money right now?
- 1:43:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like say say you were in a pub and someone next to you kept them telling you, I'm a billionaire.
- 1:43:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a billionaire.
- 1:43:14[SPEAKER_01]: because you can afford it.
- 1:43:16[SPEAKER_01]: So when your company is constantly telling me, we're blocking rich with the richest we've ever been.
- 1:43:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're making money more money than ever, more money than is conceivable.
- 1:43:27[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to pay us 30 bucks to watch this show?
- 1:43:29[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't want to give you pretty bucks on top of another like 30, it's so, it's so bizarre.
- 1:43:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know, I don't
- 1:43:37[SPEAKER_02]: if it matters of where you live in the states and this and that again this doesn't really concern us because we're in Canada, but I am seeing the like blowback from this of like if I was blue states having to pay, right?
- 1:43:49[SPEAKER_01]: Is that how it looks like?
- 1:43:51[SPEAKER_02]: I just find like okay, WWE is big right now, the ESPN, like are we one step closer to the mouse?
- 1:43:58[SPEAKER_02]: owning WWE or the Saudis owning WWE but like ESPN in the Disney umbrella like this is crazy this is a big deal and the video package they play is mixing the sports and they're treating this like this huge thing like we didn't get to actual wrestling at least till like 30 minutes into this this show with the whole intro and triple age and the entrances and everything so
- 1:44:19[SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
- 1:44:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's ESPN.
- 1:44:21[SPEAKER_02]: This has been something as someone who's worked at ESPN Canada at TSN.
- 1:44:26[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of times, you get laughed at when you talk about wrestling.
- 1:44:29[SPEAKER_02]: People on air have had wrestling segments and interviews and people kind of blow past it like yeah.
- 1:44:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's fucking wrestling.
- 1:44:34[SPEAKER_02]: And in this video, it's like, hey, this might be scripted or I'm this in that.
- 1:44:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought,
- 1:44:40[SPEAKER_02]: It was pretty cool that they at least acknowledge the history of like sports entertainment, triple H saying sports is entertainment.
- 1:44:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's every ESPN being a startup as well to when WWE started out.
- 1:44:52[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 1:44:52[SPEAKER_01]: That kind of thing, right?
- 1:44:53[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:44:54[SPEAKER_02]: So like I thought that was pretty cool.
- 1:44:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, all right, great.
- 1:44:57[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't love this show, but there was some cool stuff on it.
- 1:45:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just still under the like, you're a gross company.
- 1:45:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care about your
- 1:45:05[SPEAKER_02]: your ties with sports and that like you you guys have been killing it this year and it just they still love to just I don't know the more you give these people money the more they rub your face and give you less quality we've got big Tom in the chat saying double is quite boring these days I fell off to Mania 40 the creativeness and strong booking went out the window I was in Indy last night and the cheapest ticket for the high stands was $150 US dollars
- 1:45:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the thing from my fan and point of view.
- 1:45:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know, unfortunately the world world we're living in.
- 1:45:41[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of, a lot of the entertainment you enjoy probably has some shit behind it, right?
- 1:45:48[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 1:45:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's, it's like the sausage theories.
- 1:45:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like I enjoy stuff, it's, don't really want to see what's in it.
- 1:45:54[SPEAKER_01]: Don't really want to see how it's made.
- 1:45:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I think I think there's a lot of people, you know, who who have that opinion.
- 1:45:59[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, I try and put that stuff behind to the side, unjust enjoy what I'm being presented.
- 1:46:06[SPEAKER_01]: And that's fine.
- 1:46:08[SPEAKER_01]: But when you're being presented, isn't very good.
- 1:46:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we've had some huge blunders.
- 1:46:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like the John Cena, there should have been the biggest story of the year, John Cena's retirement tour.
- 1:46:19[SPEAKER_01]: And with such a fumble with that heel turn and the lack of creativity coming out of it, the same thing on the lesser extent with the art truth, character turn.
- 1:46:29[SPEAKER_01]: and we have stuff like them playing off that setth injury as the the ruse of the century.
- 1:46:35[SPEAKER_01]: It was dog shit.
- 1:46:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was, it didn't make any sense at the end of it, like, because as I said, and review back then, like, you didn't actually use it to any advantage.
- 1:46:46[SPEAKER_01]: He was just like, psych, I'm not injured.
- 1:46:48[SPEAKER_01]: And now I think three minutes dancing to the ring, it's like, no, like, it's, and you see on Unreal, it's like, we're just, we're focused on moments.
- 1:46:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but moments mean so much more when you have a good narrative that will lead to it.
- 1:47:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it makes sense.
- 1:47:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they have thrown a lot of that out the window.
- 1:47:06[SPEAKER_01]: So when I'm not as creatively satisfied with what I'm watching, and I find everything else you're doing kind of gross, it just does really
- 1:47:16[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:47:17[SPEAKER_02]: There's plenty of reasons.
- 1:47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Even if you just watch WWE don't, you're not a sicko, you're not into the weeds, so to speak, and you're like, oh, okay, cool.
- 1:47:26[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I'm sure there's a lot of people out there who love this show.
- 1:47:29[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe thought it was a home run.
- 1:47:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:47:31[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't really necessarily looked up other opinions on it at this time.
- 1:47:36[SPEAKER_02]: But like, sure, WWE are really hot right now.
- 1:47:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still noticing in in friend groups or
- 1:47:45[SPEAKER_02]: brought up a whole lot more.
- 1:47:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm seeing t-shirts in public a whole lot more.
- 1:47:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm seeing it's in the pop cultures zeitgeist.
- 1:47:52[SPEAKER_02]: It feels as popular as ever and in doing so other wrestling things are popular like your A-w's or your indie shows like they get some some big boost there because
- 1:48:01[SPEAKER_02]: you want to take your friends to a WWE show, but you can't afford to, but trust me, you'll love it.
- 1:48:06[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, instead of that, I'll take you to an indie show in the city for a fraction of that price, and you'll probably end up liking it even more.
- 1:48:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's usually what you hear at indie shows.
- 1:48:14[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I love these way more than going and sitting in the big green as in this and that and it's like, yeah, because it's, it's that way.
- 1:48:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
- 1:48:22[SPEAKER_02]: I definitely have not been feeling WWE for the past little while.
- 1:48:26[SPEAKER_02]: I get the ikk.
- 1:48:27[SPEAKER_02]: when I watch it.
- 1:48:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if it's because of just a whole different series of things.
- 1:48:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I try to put that aside.
- 1:48:33[SPEAKER_02]: I totally try to.
- 1:48:35[SPEAKER_02]: And then you set even when you just just let me enjoy the sausage pause.
- 1:48:41[SPEAKER_02]: You don't.
- 1:48:42[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, oh, wait, is that again?
- 1:48:44[SPEAKER_02]: Has this expired?
- 1:48:45[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, these sausages are really popular.
- 1:48:47[SPEAKER_02]: These glissies are really popular last year.
- 1:48:49[SPEAKER_02]: And they're writing off the success and using this.
- 1:48:52[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I can taste the ground down bone in this one.
- 1:48:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's
- 1:48:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I'm going vegan and I'm watching something.
- 1:48:59[SPEAKER_02]: No, I just, I haven't liked the creative.
- 1:49:03[SPEAKER_02]: What, what the thing about WWE this year is there's been pockets of some good stuff, especially the women and I'd say that was probably the same with this show here today.
- 1:49:11[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, just the like, I'm not even a pat McAfee hater.
- 1:49:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's pretty funny and pretty great and what he's done with his, his everything is great.
- 1:49:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like seeing them lean into the athletes and to the sports because it's ESPN and everything.
- 1:49:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just like, all right.
- 1:49:27[SPEAKER_02]: I actually like wrestling because it's not sports, that makes sense.
- 1:49:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, like, we're, there's, there's the theater kids out there who are like, yeah, I like wrestling because it's my weird shit thing that like those sports people jocks don't like.
- 1:49:40[SPEAKER_02]: So now they're really like trying to blend it in and maybe that might sour some people.
- 1:49:45[SPEAKER_02]: I guess your theater kids are watching AEW.
- 1:49:47[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be honest.
- 1:49:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean like I think they're trying to cast the net of everyone and they know everyone watches sports So we're mostly everyone watches sports.
- 1:49:57[SPEAKER_02]: So they're trying to really like Do that and I get it.
- 1:50:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's ESPN and whatever, but this wasn't the show for me Maybe watching AW first and then today watching this definitely made me go.
- 1:50:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I know I really like wrestling Don't know if this is really wrestling, but I like wrestling
- 1:50:16[SPEAKER_01]: Well, shall we start with the big match they put on to kick things off to try and count a program AEW and that was Brock Lesnar taking on John Cena, Brock's first match in two years, his first match since we swim last, that's on a slam in Detroit, taking on
- 1:50:44[SPEAKER_01]: I did kind of enjoy that touch that they bought out all these kids and he's about to get murdered and cutting to kids in the crowd showing how disappointed they were.
- 1:50:54[SPEAKER_01]: I did find that kind of funny.
- 1:50:55[SPEAKER_02]: Just so funny considering like he's about a month ago he was a heal.
- 1:51:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and was telling kids they suck and then he read like what a phony this John say you apologize No, no, no, he's a big fat phony coming out here That's like me being like fuck them kids, bro, and then like now I'm just joking here's me all these kids.
- 1:51:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's like no, what are you anyways?
- 1:51:18[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it was pretty much a very reminiscent of SummerSlam back in 2014 with Brock just steam rolling sceneer.
- 1:51:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think he delivered what six or seven F5s, including some after the match.
- 1:51:35[SPEAKER_01]: And just beating sceneer in very convincing faction.
- 1:51:42[SPEAKER_01]: Brock looked bigger than he's ever looked before.
- 1:51:44[SPEAKER_01]: I thought here he looked crazy scary.
- 1:51:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not surprised that I thought this was probably what it was gonna be.
- 1:51:54[SPEAKER_01]: It was very reminiscent of Somerslam.
- 1:51:57[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't even personally say it was bad because it just did the job it needed to do.
- 1:52:03[SPEAKER_01]: But I think this is probably seen as last match.
- 1:52:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right now it's his redemption story
- 1:52:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what do you think?
- 1:52:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I see why they did this.
- 1:52:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like first ESPN match featuring WWE is Brock and John Cena.
- 1:52:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's a stat there that'll go down for sure.
- 1:52:24[SPEAKER_02]: And it's cool because Brock has done the UFC and then they showed the video clips of that.
- 1:52:27[SPEAKER_02]: But this match was very similar to that Summerslam Mike.
- 1:52:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's just really him.
- 1:52:31[SPEAKER_02]: There was a few hoax spots.
- 1:52:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe it was better than I thought it was going to be.
- 1:52:34[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm not saying this was good.
- 1:52:36[SPEAKER_02]: by any means.
- 1:52:37[SPEAKER_02]: I was pretty bored by it, but it was better than maybe what I thought.
- 1:52:40[SPEAKER_02]: But some of the hope spots and the crowd and the kids and stuff had added to it for sure.
- 1:52:44[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, if this is leading towards the rematch for what Saturday night's main event being seen as final last match,
- 1:52:52[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I don't it doesn't necessarily they fumbled this so bad that don't even care really Yeah, if you give me AJ or Brock.
- 1:53:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I don't care.
- 1:53:01[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of just wanted to go to be Overway To be honest so this didn't do a whole app for me what I did get some entertainment out of was Definitely the shots of the children crying in the crowd.
- 1:53:14[SPEAKER_02]: So that was a plus also we had
- 1:53:17[SPEAKER_01]: We had Hayman teamed up with Lesna once again.
- 1:53:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:53:23[SPEAKER_02]: So I like just Brock stay around and we go back to him and I don't know Cody or something down the line like we're going to continue to use Brock.
- 1:53:31[SPEAKER_02]: I imagine.
- 1:53:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just I can't see this being a one and done job.
- 1:53:35[SPEAKER_01]: I can't see Brock just killing during this way and then going on to other things and seeing a moving on to other things.
- 1:53:43[SPEAKER_01]: whether this is the last match and they build up to that or whether Sina gets his win back in the next one.
- 1:53:50[SPEAKER_01]: I do see these two tying up one more time.
- 1:53:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe do it as an extreme rules match.
- 1:53:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this was very reminiscent of the SummerSlam match.
- 1:53:59[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you do an extreme rules that's very reminiscent of the extreme rules match they had back in 2011.
- 1:54:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that one was their best encounter, I'd say.
- 1:54:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that one where Brock came back, where was backwards booking?
- 1:54:13[SPEAKER_02]: Where was Cena beating him?
- 1:54:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then like years later, they're like, no, no, no, no, Brock's in a crush him.
- 1:54:18[SPEAKER_02]: So it was kind of weird that they did that.
- 1:54:20[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I guess it's Brock and Cena's the last match.
- 1:54:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they have the history there, shout out the ruthless aggression era, but can't say it necessarily does anything for me.
- 1:54:29[SPEAKER_02]: I will admit Brock did look the biggest he's ever, like he is a gorilla, he is a grizzly bear.
- 1:54:35[SPEAKER_02]: there.
- 1:54:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's all that meat.
- 1:54:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's eaten up in the wilderness of Canada, but yeah, I'm not that excited about the the rematch.
- 1:54:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I I hate to say I just kind of want this retirement tour to end.
- 1:54:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like, okay, cool.
- 1:54:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm done with this like chapter.
- 1:54:55[SPEAKER_02]: Can we move on to some other stories?
- 1:54:57[SPEAKER_02]: And this one wasn't for me.
- 1:55:02[SPEAKER_01]: Slim Sieber in the chat makes a good point about moments versus storytelling and says, look at Sami turning on Roman.
- 1:55:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was a moment, but it was the story and build up that led to it that made it so gripping because people were emotionally invested.
- 1:55:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's missing today.
- 1:55:18[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:55:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, they need to have merit to it.
- 1:55:22[SPEAKER_02]: It needs to have follow up to it.
- 1:55:24[SPEAKER_01]: It needs to have, yeah, we go on to our next match.
- 1:55:27[SPEAKER_01]: The Usos teaming up for the first time in two years, taking on the vision, the Brones, Bronson Reed and Bron Breaker with L.A.
- 1:55:36[SPEAKER_01]: Knight added as the special guest referee.
- 1:55:39[SPEAKER_02]: Was this the EMF match or something?
- 1:55:42[SPEAKER_02]: Our friend Graham kept talking my ear off about some sort of EMF sponsored match.
- 1:55:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then I just decided to walk away and went home because I couldn't understand or care about what he was talking about.
- 1:55:54[SPEAKER_02]: And what did he say?
- 1:55:56[SPEAKER_02]: What do the EMF?
- 1:55:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:55:58[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was emergency like task force or something.
- 1:56:02[SPEAKER_02]: That would be something else.
- 1:56:03[SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea.
- 1:56:04[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I'm completely wrong.
- 1:56:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if this is a sponsored thing, but he was telling me about phone radar, and I actually don't know if he was even speaking true sense to me.
- 1:56:14[SPEAKER_02]: But the Bronies versus the Usos here in a match I didn't really care to see.
- 1:56:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mentioned that I didn't think there should have been that trio's match on the paper view for all out.
- 1:56:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if this, I know the act of bronze you're trying to get over, but can't really see the excitement in this one.
- 1:56:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like I like, like I like both Bronson read and Bron Breaker and I get why they're putting a lot behind them.
- 1:56:40[SPEAKER_01]: I just felt, you know, they're trying to put over that this is a big deal.
- 1:56:44[SPEAKER_01]: They use those teaming up for the first time in two years in a tag match.
- 1:56:48[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen these guys together like on war games just last November.
- 1:56:53[SPEAKER_01]: But we've seen them in situations like where they've been teaming.
- 1:56:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think they had a
- 1:56:58[SPEAKER_01]: didn't they have a six man with Roman involved as well?
- 1:57:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think but it it doesn't feel like this long-awaited reunion of the use so it's because they've been in each others orbit for most of those two years.
- 1:57:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I didn't really get any like that nostalgia feeling of seeing the use so team up together again.
- 1:57:21[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah we've seen very similar
- 1:57:27[SPEAKER_01]: wasn't bad.
- 1:57:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think L.A.
- 1:57:28[SPEAKER_01]: Knight is someone who's done a great job recently in maintaining being still over and a prom character.
- 1:57:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I actually think is wrestling stepping up as well.
- 1:57:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I get the insurgent of him and I'm I'm
- 1:57:42[SPEAKER_01]: somewhat intrigued to see if they turn jable, heal for a few against L.A.
- 1:57:48[SPEAKER_01]: Knight or not, but I didn't overly care about this.
- 1:57:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was the right move, the vision winning.
- 1:57:54[SPEAKER_01]: You want to keep these guys like strong, but I didn't get particularly excited about it, and especially when it's a five match card.
- 1:58:04[SPEAKER_01]: This didn't feel like those take over five match cards, which really if that's what you're presenting, all five should be an absolute banger, and it wasn't.
- 1:58:11[SPEAKER_02]: If I saw this was announced for a Monday Night Rye, wouldn't watch it.
- 1:58:15[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, didn't want to watch it on a PLE.
- 1:58:18[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we move forward to Stephanie the care, taking on EOS guy, uh, this was the match.
- 1:58:26[SPEAKER_01]: I know that, uh, had your attention the most, uh, when we did our, like, preview show.
- 1:58:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:58:31[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:58:32[SPEAKER_02]: This was the one for me on this card.
- 1:58:34[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, EOS guy having one hell of a 20, 25 being one of the best wrestlers, full stop in the world of not just WWE, just in wrestling.
- 1:58:42[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen her, her come up from just, you know,
- 1:58:46[SPEAKER_02]: previously in NXT we knew from day one she was going to be a big star but watching her back and stuff from stardom and stuff from before like she's always had something and for her to just be taking over the wrestling world has been awesome and then the other side of the coin Stephanie the Cara who's had a crazy year as well and such a short amount of time has become such a huge star like almost on the level of yo at this point and maybe even further and I know we got a
- 1:59:16[SPEAKER_02]: Just only months ago on raw and it was a great tester of like hey these two are some of the best wrestlers We got and to see them here doing it again yet easily the match of the show for me on this was these two and my only critique is
- 1:59:31[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it didn't go into like the next gear.
- 1:59:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like I know they went like 20 minutes, but they're in my crazy to think like, oh, there was maybe like a no, I really there yeah.
- 1:59:42[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like that I don't know, maybe we'll get this on a bigger stage a WrestleMania stage a summer slam stage kind of thing.
- 1:59:49[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't the last time these two would have.
- 1:59:52[SPEAKER_01]: are going to tie it up.
- 1:59:53[SPEAKER_01]: I hope so.
- 1:59:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel there was still some, you know, gas in the tank there.
- 1:59:57[SPEAKER_01]: There was there was some more to be had with this shot.
- 2:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was easily my match to the night.
- 2:00:03[SPEAKER_02]: Easily the match of the show for this show.
- 2:00:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I agree there was still something more that be had.
- 2:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: I was surprised we didn't get any Kabuki warriors involvement at all with this.
- 2:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that that could maybe be something that happens.
- 2:00:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was so good.
- 2:00:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:00:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe coming
- 2:00:22[SPEAKER_01]: you can have Oscar, like, you know, saying to EO, maybe if you want to busy making friends with Rhea, you'd have won this, you're out of focus or something like that.
- 2:00:32[SPEAKER_01]: I can see that continuing but that that Phoenix Splash for the win was.
- 2:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: Of course girl.
- 2:00:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's like, oh good spiral tap, right?
- 2:00:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:00:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, look, the thing of beauty.
- 2:00:43[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen her do it in NXT.
- 2:00:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think she's done it on the main roster yet.
- 2:00:46[SPEAKER_01]: Looked great.
- 2:00:48[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome match.
- 2:00:49[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't say it got to the level of the triple threat WrestleMania match that we saw with Rhea and Bianca, but another banger from EO and Stephanie again, like inserting herself into becoming a huge star, but seeing both of them here, kill it.
- 2:01:06[SPEAKER_02]: The women, again, are stealing the show for WWE for me.
- 2:01:08[SPEAKER_02]: This was the D match on this show.
- 2:01:10[SPEAKER_02]: I
- 2:01:11[SPEAKER_02]: I could have not watched this show and didn't find, but this was definitely worth checking out.
- 2:01:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I hope we get a remashed down the line.
- 2:01:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I hope we get even more out of these two, because I believe they could kill each other even more than 20 minutes down the line, but that's just nitpicking there.
- 2:01:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, loved it.
- 2:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: On Cage match as well, easily rated the highest match on this show with an 8.42 rating.
- 2:01:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, very nice.
- 2:01:38[SPEAKER_01]: The Spanish fly, the the corkscrew at the end there too.
- 2:01:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the selling of those leg I thought was well told throughout it with that nasty looking dragon screw and then, you know, the missing the over the moon salt just landing on a knees really like making it even worse for
- 2:01:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like Eos had one hell of a year, one of the best wrestlers this year for sure.
- 2:01:59[SPEAKER_02]: The women, woman wrestler of the year, it's gonna be real tough for me by the end of the year, because for WWE, she's the one for me.
- 2:02:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then you know, I was, I was just in Japan and I would see Eos sky stuff.
- 2:02:11[SPEAKER_02]: all over the place like actually like I would see posters for her and WWE if anywhere had like WWE or wrestling stuff they would if they had anything that was WWE would be hurt which I thought was quite interesting too like oh they have eo stuff because I guess they they like to claim her right now they're like look at look at our girl if it wasn't uh eo sky as saw show hey uh otony everywhere so she's not she's not quite at the japanese jesus level but
- 2:02:37[SPEAKER_02]: she's up there for being one of the biggest wrestlers full stop not just men women just wrestler full stop I think that she's getting that praise this year quite a lot so stealing the show yet again you sky gets me high.
- 2:02:50[SPEAKER_01]: We then had the mixed tag match Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins taking on CM Punk and the returning AJ Lee.
- 2:03:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I bet a lot of people were excited to see
- 2:03:05[SPEAKER_02]: AJ Lee returned putting on the Chuck Taylor's the converse.
- 2:03:10[SPEAKER_02]: One more time.
- 2:03:11[SPEAKER_02]: I was definitely excited for her to come back.
- 2:03:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think she was in a era where she didn't have the right dance partners and maybe was way ahead of her time and influenced so many of the women who were wrestling today like your EOs or Stephanie and so many more.
- 2:03:26[SPEAKER_02]: I got to watch her a lot in, wow, women of wrestling over the last two years.
- 2:03:31[SPEAKER_02]: She was like a producer and the commentator and stuff like that.
- 2:03:34[SPEAKER_02]: And you could tell she was maybe getting that wrestling bug a little bit again, being like in the corner of all these women and supporting and trying to, I don't know, push women's wrestling.
- 2:03:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think she looked out of place in this match.
- 2:03:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think she looked really good.
- 2:03:48[SPEAKER_02]: I had a lot of fun with this one.
- 2:03:49[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't even imagine how much fun it would be for.
- 2:03:53[SPEAKER_02]: CM Punk and AJ, a legit married couple, versus Rollins and Becky, a legit married couple, like these four must have had possibly one of their career highlights here.
- 2:04:05[SPEAKER_02]: I would only amad it because this wasn't a, you know, five star wrestling classic, but
- 2:04:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think I had a lot of fun watching this with be like the teasing of AJ getting back in it and like how they're not letting our back keep eating up on punk and I know the men fighting the women and all that stuff it made it for a pretty entertaining match.
- 2:04:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think again, I don't think we'll be talking about match the year or anything like that, but it looked like a lot of fun for those involved so I think it's transparent on TV.
- 2:04:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree.
- 2:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the, uh, I thought that he building was a little bit too much.
- 2:04:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's very, it's very WWE style, like it kind of took me to those, you know, Usos, Roman, Solo matches where just so much of it is isolation and heat building.
- 2:04:52[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, you know, there's a Michael Hayes in the back saying, Oh, less is more kids, less is more, but
- 2:04:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah, I get it.
- 2:04:58[SPEAKER_01]: You're building up that anticipation to finally C.A.J.
- 2:05:01[SPEAKER_01]: Lee.
- 2:05:02[SPEAKER_01]: Just went on a little bit long for my life.
- 2:05:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually not really long.
- 2:05:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was too long.
- 2:05:07[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought towards the final stretch, as you said, the stuff with punk and Becky going at it, especially with the counter of the sharp shooter that led to a storm, that led to AJ hitting her own stomp on Seth.
- 2:05:20[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was great.
- 2:05:22[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the assisted slice bread looked really good.
- 2:05:27[SPEAKER_01]: wasn't called on commentary, but hitting sets old finisher on set with the Seth Walker.
- 2:05:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I told that was cool and I thought I thought AJ looked good I'm I assume we'll get the singles match with Becky and I think that will really be where we see what level she's at and what she is capable of doing in
- 2:05:52[SPEAKER_01]: the in 2025 and onwards, right?
- 2:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: But this, you can, you can have the bells and whistles, you can kind of hide her a little bit in there whilst giving her enough to make her look impressive.
- 2:06:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, just a bit, just too long for me, but still still fun and I am, I am genuinely still pretty excited to see what AJ Lee can do moving.
- 2:06:12[SPEAKER_02]: So Wikipedia says this went 29 minutes, 18 seconds.
- 2:06:15[SPEAKER_02]: Stephanie and E.O went 2011 and the main event went 17, 17.
- 2:06:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is the longest match by a while on this show.
- 2:06:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it necessarily needed that, but look, I didn't hate this whatsoever, but across both shows, like the only match longer than this was the main event of all, all out.
- 2:06:35[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 2:06:35[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, interesting.
- 2:06:37[SPEAKER_02]: uh... it was fine it was fun again i could imagine just two couples like it was probably uh... probably pretty fun for them to do and it lead you into thinking if a j's back then we can go to a j and back in punk and set that feud i guess will continue as well they did announce what codey versus set is happening in perth i think is something they said or they've announced that uh... i don't know but that's like the crown jewel type
- 2:07:03[SPEAKER_02]: something.
- 2:07:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:07:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right.
- 2:07:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 2:07:05[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
- 2:07:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:07:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's crown jewels.
- 2:07:07[SPEAKER_01]: So it's they face each other.
- 2:07:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:07:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:07:09[SPEAKER_02]: So pretty fun.
- 2:07:10[SPEAKER_02]: Match.
- 2:07:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where we go with with punk and trying to get him maybe in the in a solos feudal.
- 2:07:16[SPEAKER_02]: Do we go to another Seth match this early?
- 2:07:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not quite sure.
- 2:07:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just kind of watching them fight.
- 2:07:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:07:23[SPEAKER_01]: Me too.
- 2:07:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're still I still feel there's
- 2:07:27[SPEAKER_01]: one match left in their story, like having the blow off BMX tag, especially with AJ, I imagine we'll be challenging Becky down the line.
- 2:07:36[SPEAKER_01]: I feel there's one more match in there, but I wouldn't mind a little deviation and a little break before we get there.
- 2:07:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm kind of over it, I don't know if I need to see Seth, like Seth it.
- 2:07:48[SPEAKER_02]: He's not that interesting, I really wanted him to be the guy to win the match at WrestleMania, to team with Paul Hamon.
- 2:07:55[SPEAKER_02]: And then once he did, I just hate it.
- 2:07:58[SPEAKER_02]: And he just got back to change.
- 2:07:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
- 2:08:00[SPEAKER_01]: His character has gone back to when he was a heel in this version of himself before, like he really should have ditched the crazy fashion stuff this time round.
- 2:08:12[SPEAKER_01]: to like cement now.
- 2:08:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what was that about him and Becky in the purple, the barn, yeah, it's Becky's been great, but I agree, Seth, there's always just something missing.
- 2:08:21[SPEAKER_01]: He is talented, I understand why he's at position years, but there's just something missing in all of his major runs in WWE.
- 2:08:30[SPEAKER_02]: I understand that he's great, like he can be the measuring stick of this, like for the past 10 years, he's had some great match of this, some other great people and some great moments in this and that,
- 2:08:41[SPEAKER_02]: What I don't understand is what I always see clips of him in interviews being like, yeah, and I'm one of the greats in this and that and it's like, wow, I don't know actually, I don't know you, you're always he said recently that there's only there's only 20 people in wrestling with like,
- 2:09:01[SPEAKER_01]: decent promo ability or something like that, and it's like, yeah, you're not in that 20.
- 2:09:06[SPEAKER_02]: Or like, people who put on five star matches this and that, I can't stand it.
- 2:09:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, yeah, that's what someone who does a solid three would say.
- 2:09:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:09:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's being a nerd.
- 2:09:14[SPEAKER_02]: But like, he's always missing something.
- 2:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought that WrestleMania, the Paul Hamid thing like something.
- 2:09:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:09:21[SPEAKER_02]: I was just expecting.
- 2:09:23[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe it's the hair and the outfits could potentially be it.
- 2:09:27[SPEAKER_02]: But you've teamed in with two bronze, Paul Hayman, and I still won't give you the time of day.
- 2:09:32[SPEAKER_02]: I still can't be invested into this story, Arkon, even the punk stuff.
- 2:09:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's wearing a little thin.
- 2:09:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think we need to change it up something.
- 2:09:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then we had the main event of Drew McIntyre taking on Cody Rhodes for the
- 2:09:49[SPEAKER_01]: Undisputed, whatever this title is, the Cody won, the main one.
- 2:09:53[SPEAKER_02]: The real title.
- 2:09:55[SPEAKER_02]: The real title is not even defended on this show.
- 2:09:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, not a real title, but, yes, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, former tag team champions.
- 2:10:03[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 2:10:04[SPEAKER_02]: I was thinking, were they the Rhodes scholars?
- 2:10:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then I remembered, no, that's the other side now.
- 2:10:08[SPEAKER_02]: So what was their name?
- 2:10:09[SPEAKER_02]: Just Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.
- 2:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Look Rhodes.
- 2:10:12[SPEAKER_02]: McRode's sounds like something you order for breakfast at McDonald's.
- 2:10:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:10:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, main event.
- 2:10:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was disappointed with this to be honest.
- 2:10:23[SPEAKER_01]: I like both guys and I think McIntyre has been great.
- 2:10:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I get why this was the, I think it was important actually that this was the main event.
- 2:10:35[SPEAKER_01]: This is your ESPN thing.
- 2:10:38[SPEAKER_01]: Cody felt like such an afterthought on the Netflix debut.
- 2:10:41[SPEAKER_01]: He should feel like the main guy.
- 2:10:44[SPEAKER_01]: He should be main eventing.
- 2:10:45[SPEAKER_01]: This is your main title.
- 2:10:48[SPEAKER_01]: Mac and Ty has been in this position so many times now, where he does a good job building it, like he essentially built this whole story on his own, because Rhodes was out filming, so a lot of the weeks was him doing the promos on his own and all that.
- 2:11:05[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the match was fine,
- 2:11:10[SPEAKER_01]: and I was questioning in the preview show.
- 2:11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't make sense to just give Drew the title, for a few months, just give him that win and have Cody on the chase again.
- 2:11:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, right?
- 2:11:22[SPEAKER_01]: This underwhelmed for me.
- 2:11:24[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely agree.
- 2:11:25[SPEAKER_02]: I think we were I think it was you that was hype me up like no no This is gonna be good actually true.
- 2:11:31[SPEAKER_01]: It was your fault actually that I hated I think both guys will have you seen like they don't mind getting punched in the face They don't mind punching other people in the face and I think quite get that level that plain It's a piece of dumb before multiple times
- 2:11:46[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe this feud continues, I'm not quite sure.
- 2:11:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like, there was no reason for this not to have some sort of big fire and heat behind it, but it definitely didn't feel like that.
- 2:11:56[SPEAKER_02]: I think both guys are capable of being the champion.
- 2:11:59[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously Cody is the champion, but like Drew, I'll say, you just look like the airport testing, look at Drew.
- 2:12:04[SPEAKER_02]: He could be your champion in any way.
- 2:12:06[SPEAKER_02]: Not only does he look like that and beat people up, but
- 2:12:09[SPEAKER_02]: He also is a pretty slick talker this heel run has been really good and I think they've kind of fumbled it since the CM Punk thing They've like ooh punk one, so the shiny toy is punk and then you just kind of let this guy just
- 2:12:21[SPEAKER_02]: kind of fizzle a little bit and I think he even has joked on social media like yo, they're not capitalizing on like I was the big part of that feud and like now I'm just kind of cast aside.
- 2:12:31[SPEAKER_02]: So here they are giving him a world title match in the main event and I don't know, something's not necessarily correcting.
- 2:12:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it was a bad match by any means, but I was just expecting something.
- 2:12:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not expecting him to win.
- 2:12:43[SPEAKER_02]: I was just expecting, I don't know, a bit more
- 2:12:46[SPEAKER_01]: brutality a bit more of what we got between, you know, Cody and Kevin Owens earlier in the year.
- 2:12:51[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 2:12:51[SPEAKER_01]: You're not necessarily buying Owens his winning, but they put on a hell of a show.
- 2:12:56[SPEAKER_02]: Is it is Cody not allowed to get beat up that badly for this street fighter tour or press or whatever, so maybe that's the case.
- 2:13:03[SPEAKER_02]: Film did it now.
- 2:13:04[SPEAKER_02]: Has he filmed everything?
- 2:13:05[SPEAKER_01]: Does he?
- 2:13:05[SPEAKER_02]: Is there claws that he's not allowed to walk around black eyes or something?
- 2:13:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like I just I was disappointed with this match definitely going into it, but
- 2:13:13[SPEAKER_02]: I feel this way every time I watch WWE, in 2025, it's the women that I'm like, oh, that mash is awesome and everything else I'm like, I could have went on my
- 2:13:23[SPEAKER_02]: week without watching that, and I'll forget about it.
- 2:13:25[SPEAKER_02]: And that's really how I felt about this show.
- 2:13:29[SPEAKER_02]: I really liked the E.O.
- 2:13:32[SPEAKER_02]: staff.
- 2:13:32[SPEAKER_02]: And then I guess I like CM Punk and AJ versus Becky and Seth only critique is as could have been half the the length.
- 2:13:39[SPEAKER_02]: But those two were fun matches and fine, but everything else I was like, this is what makes me realize why I don't like watching this stuff.
- 2:13:48[SPEAKER_02]: WWE, I mean, he was just
- 2:13:50[SPEAKER_02]: doesn't hit the way maybe it did someone in the chat said like over a year ago is when they felt like when they got back to being so popular it was good and then they've realized we're so good we can just they've given up on the stuff that was making it work yeah I think that's the probably hosting.
- 2:14:07[SPEAKER_02]: Just like, and they're not going to stop because they're making even more fucking money because you keep giving them all this money.
- 2:14:13[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the the the Jurassic Park movie that came out this year.
- 2:14:17[SPEAKER_02]: All the reviews you go ask anyone who saw this movie they're like, yeah, it was another.
- 2:14:23[SPEAKER_02]: dinosaur killing people chasing people action movie was it great no not really but it made fucking billion dollars so guess what they're going to make five more and you know what you're going to go see it is basically that mentality it's kind of how WWE is like we don't really care about the story and where we're going we care about the moments but more importantly we care about the money so we follow the money and follow the moments and everything else is
- 2:14:50[SPEAKER_02]: Just okay, I guess, but I didn't hate this show by any means, but I can't say, uh, it blew me away by any means.
- 2:14:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'd have enjoyed it more than a different day.
- 2:15:00[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 2:15:01[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 2:15:02[SPEAKER_02]: What have we got?
- 2:15:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 2:15:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 2:15:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 2:15:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think buying.
- 2:15:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just.
- 2:15:04[SPEAKER_02]: I watched it today though.
- 2:15:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like fresh this morning.
- 2:15:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, my coffee got my breakfast.
- 2:15:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 2:15:09[SPEAKER_02]: That was a good mood.
- 2:15:09[SPEAKER_02]: I was fine.
- 2:15:10[SPEAKER_02]: If I watched it last night after watching AEW, I probably would have ripped this to shreds.
- 2:15:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:15:16[SPEAKER_02]: I probably would have hated it.
- 2:15:18[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 2:15:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's what we thought, guys, we're going to wrap things up here.
- 2:15:23[SPEAKER_01]: We are off back to the Skoshbank tonight.
- 2:15:25[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to see Hans Zimmer, a bit of a palette cleanser.
- 2:15:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
