- 0:23You're listening to probation behavior.
- 0:27He kind of got in some hot water because he made a comment about
- 0:31Colton Underwood. You know who?
- 0:33Oh yeah. I did like, what did he say?
- 0:36Like Colton, he was convinced Colton was a traitor.
- 0:39Oh, Colton was on this season. Yeah, and he also was on there
- 0:42I. Fucking hate Colton Underwood.
- 0:44Yeah, exactly. Ali.
- 0:45Honestly you just need to watch the season for all the lore
- 0:47because it can't. Like there was so much that came
- 0:49out of it because Colton being on reality TV again was fucking
- 0:54crazy after like what he did. Literally stalked Cassie and
- 0:59then all of a sudden because he came out as gay and like had a
- 1:01baby. Are we still on the?
- 1:02Mic. Are we on the mic?
- 1:03Yeah, I had no idea. I just.
- 1:04I just went there. FYI we started talking about
- 1:08Michael Rapaport on traders. I have not seen traders.
- 1:10Abby is an avid fan. Yes no.
- 1:15So basically Colton is not a obviously not a trader, spoiler
- 1:20alert, but he is definitely like a very, I don't know, I guess
- 1:25aggressive faithful. So his the way he's like acting
- 1:30is very like he's definitely like a leader of sorts and he's
- 1:34outspoken about his opinion. So people do have like
- 1:37suspicions on him. He.
- 1:39Should not still be given any type of platform.
- 1:42This is there was a huge like lash back from the public with
- 1:47him the last season. Like I, I was a like a fan of
- 1:53that season of the bachelor, like that franchise during the
- 1:56time. So like I remember that whole
- 1:59season and then everything. Me too.
- 2:01I saw it, yeah. And then he had that show coming
- 2:04out, Colton, that came out on Netflix, and I watched that too.
- 2:07Did you? No, I didn't know that was a
- 2:08yes. After he stopped Cassie and
- 2:11everything, yeah. This was this was after he came
- 2:14out and this show on Netflix called coming out Colton was
- 2:18like all about his new life as like an out gay man and just his
- 2:25life and just following like his journey and everything.
- 2:29And it I don't remember because this this was a while ago.
- 2:32I don't think it really addressed much of what happened.
- 2:35Because trying to sweep that under the rug and kind of using
- 2:39the excuse of like, well, I, you know, it was almost like using
- 2:44it as a defense of like his actions.
- 2:47You know what I mean? Because no, he's cling on to the
- 2:51yeah. He was obsessed with his
- 2:53ex-girlfriend but he's gay? I'm confused did he want her
- 2:56back? That doesn't make sense.
- 2:58Did you know about that? Did you know about the the he's
- 3:01gay? Yeah, I knew.
- 3:02He was gay, OK. Do you remember that Billy on
- 3:05the street guy, Billy Eichner, when he.
- 3:06Has that interview. He's so funny.
- 3:08He's like, are you going to be the first kid bachelor?
- 3:11And he's like, whoa. So funny and he's.
- 3:15Like, yeah, yeah, that did not age well.
- 3:19No, he should not have a platform.
- 3:20I also it does not make sense. It didn't make sense to me when
- 3:23he came out. Not that I can't picture that
- 3:25he's gay. Totally fine.
- 3:27He would be a great role model if he wasn't horrible to Cassie.
- 3:33Yeah, it was. I mean, it was just so public.
- 3:35You can't like that. You can't get rid of that from
- 3:39your record. Like everybody saw it and a lot
- 3:43of people on social media were really pissed that he was on it
- 3:46and. In this similar vein, I may have
- 3:49a hot take on Taylor, Frankie, Paul, and The Bachelorette.
- 3:54Is it going to be a hot take or do you think maybe like?
- 3:57I think it might be a hot take. I don't think they should air
- 4:01The Bachelorette. You don't think they should air
- 4:05it? Only because I don't think, OK,
- 4:09maybe maybe that was too strong. Let me explain my thought
- 4:12process. Wait, I don't think that's that
- 4:13hot of a take. OK, I don't think she should be
- 4:16a role model. And it's not that I don't have
- 4:19empathy for her. The domestic abuse, the being
- 4:22stuck in that toxic relationship, totally get that.
- 4:26But I don't think the Bachelor Bachelorette, I know that there
- 4:31have been people who have not been great either on that show.
- 4:34That's the show is not. I don't think she should be a
- 4:38role model is what I'm saying essentially.
- 4:40And I'm not saying she can't have a platform, but I don't
- 4:43think it should be marketed in this way where they market like
- 4:45the bachelor and The Bachelorette is like pure great
- 4:48people. And I'm not saying she doesn't
- 4:50deserve love. I just don't think she should be
- 4:54given that much of A platform right now.
- 4:57Can maybe she come back from this?
- 4:59Yes, maybe, but again, you don't want, I don't want a little girl
- 5:06who's watching this to see her, especially because of how it
- 5:09ended. Apparently she gets back with
- 5:11Dakota and it goes back and forth.
- 5:13Like I don't think that that is something to celebrate.
- 5:18And again, I think she deserves empathy and support.
- 5:21But I think the same way that if somebody was an active
- 5:23addiction, I know this is a crazy, I always bring it back to
- 5:25addiction. But if somebody was an act of
- 5:28addiction and then they ended up getting sober later and let's
- 5:31say they were an active addiction while they were on The
- 5:33Bachelorette, I don't think that should be aired because I don't
- 5:37think they should be a role model.
- 5:38It's not that you can't have empathy and want them to get
- 5:40better. But I mean, this kind of toxic
- 5:42relationship is like an addiction.
- 5:44And I don't think that she should have a platform right now
- 5:48until she's healed. Yeah, no, I do agree.
- 5:53I think also the the season being cancelled happened before
- 5:59the like all the details came out I think and the videos and
- 6:04then also like the court hearings like with her and
- 6:09Dakota and basically the judge straight up saying like this is
- 6:13both of you guys like this is like 5050.
- 6:16There's not just one person to blame.
- 6:18And of course it is sad because it's a toxic, it's a toxic
- 6:23cycle. But I know that a lot of her
- 6:27cast members too, I don't know if she's going to ever be able
- 6:32to be on. No, and which means leaving.
- 6:34I think they need to cancel that show.
- 6:35I think I agree. I it's it's lost me.
- 6:38It's too much and it's a it's a mess.
- 6:41Do I eat up every minute? Yeah.
- 6:43But do I think that? Well, one, I think we've lost
- 6:47the plot of the Mormon Aspect 100.
- 6:50Percent 100% Which? Because I really commend them
- 6:53for showing a different side of Mormonism in the sense of
- 6:59they're trying to change the narrative of and trying to be a
- 7:02little bit more feminist within the religion.
- 7:04I think that's really admirable. Except are they still Mormon?
- 7:09I don't. They don't cover any of that in
- 7:11the show anymore. And now it's truly just become,
- 7:14I think, profiting off of horrible moments in these
- 7:18people's lives, which is funny. It's ironic that Whitney's now
- 7:22leaving once her life is now amazing.
- 7:24She's doing great. And it's funny to me that she's
- 7:27now leaving because I think it just shows that the show is
- 7:31really just profiting off of pain and misery.
- 7:35Yeah, I just, I think I have Mormon wife fatigue.
- 7:39Like I'm not, I didn't even finish this last season.
- 7:43I I just couldn't do it anymore. I do love a good reality show,
- 7:47but I, I don't know, I'm over it and it just was too much like I
- 7:53did like Taylor and then everything that came out, I'm
- 7:55like, I can't even really like support this show anymore.
- 7:59It's it's depressing. Like it's, it is.
- 8:02I don't know. I there's some of them that I do
- 8:04like and like I'm, I do like Whitney saw her in Chicago.
- 8:09I hated. Whitney the first season and now
- 8:10I'm like such a Whitney fan. We all did, yeah.
- 8:14I mean, she does not seem like a friend I would want to be
- 8:16friends with, but she's killing it.
- 8:19And you know I love a Broadway girl so.
- 8:21I know and she, she was really good, proud of her.
- 8:26Yes, Abby saw her live. I don't know if we've mentioned
- 8:28that. Live, yeah, live studio
- 8:31audience. I think it was the second
- 8:33weekend that she performed, so I'm sure it got even better.
- 8:37But yeah, I don't know. I'm.
- 8:39I'm over that show. It needs to be done, I think
- 8:42because they're doing that new show Mormon Wives.
- 8:45Did you not know this? They're doing look it up right
- 8:48now. It's a new cast, but Jen Affleck
- 8:51is going to be on it. What?
- 8:54Yes, do you know Aspen over like she's going to be on it and then
- 8:58Bobby, Bobby, I forget what her name is, but she had like a pod
- 9:02or she has a podcast. I don't even know if any of them
- 9:05are Mormon. Like I have no idea.
- 9:08Oh, Bobby Alton. Yeah.
- 9:10Wait, she's a Mormon? I that's what I'm saying.
- 9:14I don't know. I don't know about all that, but
- 9:17it's not even in Utah like it's taking place in.
- 9:21Yeah. So I think, I think that this is
- 9:24them like trying to create something new because everything
- 9:27else is kind of burning down if I had to guess.
- 9:31That's fair. You know, the reality shows,
- 9:35it's because I was thinking, I'm like, I feel like I sound like.
- 9:39Wait, we're just doing like a full pop culture?
- 9:41Sorry, we do we. Love pop culture.
- 9:43No, I love pop culture and I love to talk about it, but I
- 9:46just like kind of got like started thinking like, wow,
- 9:48we're fully just evaluating. Right now, this is not true
- 9:51crime in the site. Whoa.
- 9:55I mean. Well, Colton, we talked about
- 9:58Colton. Yes, this actually is.
- 9:59We talked about Taylor, Frankie, Paul in Dakota.
- 10:01The number one gateway into murder is stalking.
- 10:06Stalking and not in the same capacity, but burglarizing
- 10:11because it's a violation. We've talked about this, it's a
- 10:12violation of people's privacy and, and it's it's similar, but
- 10:18stalking, I mean is a huge gateway.
- 10:21Gateway is not the right word, but more so like indicator.
- 10:25It's a huge indicator that what? Nothing.
- 10:29I'm like accusations. Oh no, it's a huge indicator.
- 10:32I I will. Look, I'm not saying Colton
- 10:35Underwood is about to be a serial killer, not at all what
- 10:37I'm saying. But I'm saying it needs to be
- 10:39treated more seriously. Give me a second.
- 10:47What an inappropriate time to laugh.
- 10:48No, that's why I'm laughing, because I was like kind of
- 10:52making a joke and then you're like, oh, it just needs to be
- 10:54taken more seriously, like. Abby, you need to be more
- 10:59serious. I know, yeah.
- 11:02No, no. I.
- 11:03Cut it. It's getting cut.
- 11:05No, no, it's not. It's OK, It's getting cut.
- 11:07OK, so, oh, but I was going to say, while we're talking about
- 11:12all of this, I'm thinking about Love Island and I'm thinking
- 11:16about I'm such a hypocrite because I live for all of that
- 11:19drama and they are sleep deprived.
- 11:22They Oh my gosh, yeah. They do a lot to contribute to
- 11:26pretty much forcing them into mania.
- 11:29Love Island thrives on the manic happenings between the cast
- 11:36members. And so I hate it because I do
- 11:38eat that up. If you hear the tippity
- 11:40tapities, that's Nemo, a dog. My dog.
- 11:46And like I'm thinking about Huda specifically, who needs to not
- 11:50remotely be a role model at all. Another.
- 11:55Great example, someone who has a platform shouldn't have a
- 11:58platform and who's also from North Carolina lives in North
- 12:03Carolina. Not to docs, but I think we all
- 12:06knew. That did you see how I don't
- 12:08know if this ever like was proven to be true or not, but
- 12:12there was all this texts released.
- 12:16Oh gosh, it was all this text release between Huda and her
- 12:21boyfriend her like. Louis, who was also on What's
- 12:25that show? Winter Games, yeah, because I
- 12:29watched that and it was rough. No, but he was.
- 12:33He was on. God perfect match.
- 12:35Is it perfect match? Not perfect match?
- 12:37Too out to handle. Thank you.
- 12:39I watched all those seasons. I watched most of them but not
- 12:43that one. The first season was.
- 12:44Louis was a fuck boy. Anyways, yes I did see all of
- 12:51that stuff with the toxic text messages.
- 12:53Again, another reason should not be a role model.
- 12:57And I believe all of these people deserve help.
- 12:59They need therapeutic help, but not a platform, and that's OK.
- 13:07And I don't think we need to cancel them to get them off the
- 13:10platform. I think we just need to
- 13:11recognize that these people need to take a step back and get
- 13:14help. Not saying I'm justifying any of
- 13:17their actions, but they need help and that's OK.
- 13:21There's nothing wrong with that. But again, while you're in need
- 13:24of help for something that you're being shitty to other
- 13:27people, it's not just like internal mental illness or
- 13:30mental health. You need help?
- 13:33Yeah, I feel like to switching a little bit, but as somebody who
- 13:39loves like reality TV and like all that drama and watching it
- 13:43unfold and also like liking the true crime stuff and like it's
- 13:48like the fascination with like this behaviour and everything.
- 13:53Like it's not saying it's the same thing, but it, I don't know
- 13:57why, but it is just like something not that comforts me,
- 14:03but like I like to just put it on and like kind of have it in
- 14:06the background. And I feel like a lot of the
- 14:09times it's so chaotic what's going on, but it doesn't really
- 14:12like, it doesn't really make me feel that chaotic.
- 14:15Like kind of grounds me sometimes.
- 14:17No, you know why? And I would text my boyfriend
- 14:20while I'm watching all of this. He doesn't watch any of this.
- 14:22And I'd be like, this reminds me that I'm not that crazy.
- 14:26I'm like, OK, no matter what, I'm not as bad as these people.
- 14:30That sounds probably terrible, but we're better than them.
- 14:40Well, that's pop culture, but also crime.
- 14:44And I think maybe we segue into the whole, again, we're figuring
- 14:49out the the vibe of this podcast and we just like to talk to you.
- 14:53Nemo is officially on my lap because he's very needy.
- 14:57Anyways, we do have some true crime updates.
- 15:02First, before fully getting into this, I want to in relation to
- 15:07the Sonia Massey episode. I was talking to my friend
- 15:11Hillary from work and she was so lovely and did some research
- 15:18into how cops are actually trained to deescalate a
- 15:22situation. And I said deescalate.
- 15:24I mean more So what they're trained to do when they feel
- 15:28like they're being attacked or something like that.
- 15:32They are trained to shoot at the center of the mass to
- 15:35incapacitate them. Which is a fancy way of saying
- 15:39they're shooting to kill because we know shooting at the center
- 15:43of the mass of a person is going to destroy vital organs and most
- 15:48likely kill them. Also in the clip right before he
- 15:53shoots her he says you better not I will shoot you in your
- 15:58fucking face. Pretty sure that's not the
- 16:00center of the mass. Anyways, I did want to just say
- 16:04that because I had questioned it in the episode how cops are
- 16:07actually trained. And I actually have a cousin
- 16:10who's a cop and I probably should ask him too about his
- 16:13experience. I have two cousins that are
- 16:15cops. I I want to say that thank you,
- 16:17Hillary, for looking into that and doing a better job
- 16:20researching than I did. Thank you, Hillary.
- 16:25OK, next into some true crime updates.
- 16:29Huge one, Alec Murdoch and I pronounced.
- 16:33It correct. Nailed it.
- 16:34Can I just say it's spelled Alex and he goes by Alec, and I think
- 16:39that's so pretentious anyways, which we know he's pretentious.
- 16:43And Murdoch being like Murdoch. Murdoch Maybe it's a Southern
- 16:48thing. The South Carolina Supreme Court
- 16:52overturned the verdict in his case and his sentencing, which
- 16:57essentially had to do with jury tampering.
- 17:00Becky Hill, she was accused of tampering with the jury by
- 17:05essentially swaying them to say that he was guilty.
- 17:11And a lot of people are saying Abby was noticing a lot of
- 17:14comments of he's innocent. We knew it.
- 17:18Crazy work because that's not what it is saying.
- 17:21It is saying that they were maybe persuaded a bit, but not
- 17:26necessary. I don't think she paid them
- 17:27right. This was not a case of jury
- 17:29bribery. It was just.
- 17:31Speaking to them outside of court.
- 17:34She made a comment along the lines of like, don't listen to
- 17:39anything the defense is saying. Like, basically it's not true.
- 17:43Yeah. Which as we talked about, like,
- 17:46I think everybody knew. That it was.
- 17:50Not so. I don't know why.
- 17:53I wish she didn't do. That because I mean, I don't
- 17:57know about this, but I know that I, like Murdoch's lawyers are
- 18:04saying that you know, this is going to be huge for them and
- 18:09it's going to be a completely different trial now because
- 18:11there's going to be more testimonies from defendants that
- 18:15are from the defendant now that are going to be able to be used
- 18:19in court so. What do you mean by?
- 18:22That. So basically, I'm reading the
- 18:23article on CNN right now and his lawyer, I believe his name is
- 18:29Jim Griffin, says that if there's a retrial, the whole
- 18:35case has to start again. This is a former prosecutor
- 18:39actually saying that's not his, not his lawyers, But it's a new
- 18:43trial from start to finish. Murdoch's attorneys said on NB
- 18:47CS today the defense has the advantage in a retrial.
- 18:50In a retrial, the statistics are in favor of the defendant
- 18:52because you have a lot of more recorded testimony of witnesses,
- 18:56attorney Jim Griffin said Thursday.
- 18:57You get to impeach them with inconsistencies.
- 19:00It will be a totally different trial, I promise you.
- 19:02I mean, it's not great. Like it's not great for
- 19:06prosecutors. Do I know what the outcome will
- 19:10be? No, but interesting.
- 19:14I hope, I mean, OK, if we look at Becky Hill's comment
- 19:18isolated, it's not great. But in the in the spectrum of
- 19:24jury tampering, I would not call it the most persuasive.
- 19:29And I think the evidence speaks for itself.
- 19:31I think it truly was. He got off on a technicality,
- 19:35which sucks. Again, he's not fully getting
- 19:38off. He's having another trial.
- 19:40Luckily he is still in prison for quite a bit of fraud and
- 19:45embezzlement, so we have that to be happy about.
- 19:49But the actual murders, I really hope that they get justice.
- 19:52His wife and his son. Yeah, I, I remember like when
- 19:58that all came out and it had been things like over the years
- 20:01that had built up and. The Netflix documentary that
- 20:05came out was looking into it and kind of revealing like all these
- 20:09things that had happened and it just made everything like so
- 20:12much more suspicious and just like their status in the
- 20:16community and like obviously the money and all that so.
- 20:21OK. Our other major case update is
- 20:25Corey Richins, which we just covered.
- 20:28She was sentenced to life without the possibility of
- 20:30parole. That not surprising.
- 20:33Great. What I want to talk about is her
- 20:37statement at sentencing, I think prior to sense sentencing or was
- 20:42it after? I'm not really sure.
- 20:43I never really know when they're allowed to make statements.
- 20:45Her statement, I think it's probably before sentence.
- 20:47I would. Assume so as well.
- 20:49But Oh yeah, because she was sentenced and it was so she was
- 20:52going to jail no matter what because the way she was speaking
- 20:55was she was talking to her sons saying be like your father, be
- 20:59generous, be all of that. Which is really weird
- 21:04considering she murdered him. But I don't think she's ever
- 21:09fully admitted to it. So I also think one SEC he's
- 21:14going to drink water. It's so dainty his his drinking.
- 21:22It's fair he doesn't splash it around everywhere and when I
- 21:25babysit, when I dog sit like Chili, Maya, Ollie, whoever.
- 21:31Water is everywhere, truly. Everywhere.
- 21:33Yeah, I've saw this like dog water bowl invention that's like
- 21:39plants are underneath it. So when the dog is like
- 21:41dripping, it's like watering plants.
- 21:43That's adorable. Yeah, in theory it's great, but
- 21:46like I don't, I don't got the arm for.
- 21:49That OK, the amount of consumerism these days is crazy
- 21:53and I'm so influenced. Unfortunately, they come up with
- 21:55inventions that I'm like, what have we come to?
- 21:58It's. Too crazy.
- 22:00There's there's just so much though, like it's hard to even
- 22:03know what to buy because every day there's something more.
- 22:06Even just like makeup and skin care, there's like a million
- 22:10things. It's like I don't know which one
- 22:11to get and I'm not going to get them all.
- 22:14I saw TikTok of this girl recently that was I, I forget
- 22:19what she called it but she was saying I'm starting a new thing
- 22:22where I do not buy another product until I've finished the
- 22:25product that I currently have which sounds first world
- 22:29problems. I kind of do that though, I I
- 22:33try not to buy anything until like I'm pretty much out of it.
- 22:38Like a blush, like I get like one at a time.
- 22:40Like I really do try to do that because I get and I love makeup.
- 22:44I love it. I.
- 22:44Love makeup but it's so. Overwhelming that they're like,
- 22:49I'm always looking at stuff, I'm saving things that I want to
- 22:51get. But like, I really do try to
- 22:52wait because I just feel like it's overwhelming And and then
- 22:57if I have multiple things, I'm like, I don't know which one to
- 22:59use. Like I don't know which one to
- 23:00use today. So I just kind of stick with
- 23:01one. Yep.
- 23:02I don't do that. Moving really highlighted how
- 23:07many products that I have that either weren't even opened or
- 23:11were half used. And then I clearly switched to
- 23:13another product that I had just bought.
- 23:16So that's cool, really trying to cut down on that consumerism in
- 23:20general. But I do get an Amazon package
- 23:22about once a day, so. I yeah, I do too, but I usually
- 23:26just get like stuff for the house, like I get like toilet
- 23:30paper, paper towels. Like if we need like those
- 23:32little bug, you know, the plug in things for the bugs, I forget
- 23:38what they're called, but you it's like a blue light or.
- 23:41Whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:42I get like that kind of shit. It's my.
- 23:45I use it to replenish mostly everything.
- 23:47Yeah. It's not usually like fun stuff
- 23:49I'm getting just for the hell of it.
- 23:51Like every once in a while I'm like sure, but I try it's.
- 23:55So dangerous stuff just for the hell of it for sure.
- 23:58What did? I'm going to let me think.
- 24:00What did I order recently that I did not need?
- 24:04I don't know. It's been a weird time because
- 24:05I've been moving so. What's with this rug?
- 24:07OK, get out of it. So I guess talk about
- 24:10unnecessary purchases. I was trying to change my style
- 24:13a little bit. I was not happy with what
- 24:16everything looked like in my house, which sounds silly
- 24:19because I actually like it was cute.
- 24:21It just wasn't like my style. My and I used ChatGPT to
- 24:25identify my style. It's soft, romantic, vintage,
- 24:28eclectic. What a mouthful.
- 24:31And so I was using ChatGPT to help me.
- 24:35I'm I know what individual items I like, but then when it I put
- 24:40it all together, it doesn't look great or it's not that it
- 24:42doesn't look like what I'm going for.
- 24:44Yeah, I'm not good at holistically creating my space
- 24:47the way I wanted to. So I was basically just vetting
- 24:50things on ChatGPT to say this is fit the aesthetic.
- 24:53How does this look all of that. So I definitely so my rug,
- 24:59there's a balled up rug in my 9 by 12.
- 25:02So it's massive in the corner of my house right now.
- 25:04I'm trying to sell it. It was barely used because it
- 25:07was in the living room and I didn't really use my living room
- 25:10that much. And nobody is buying it on
- 25:14Facebook Marketplace. So it's how much you got it
- 25:16listed for 80, which is like, oh, that's pretty.
- 25:19I know. Honestly I might buy it from you
- 25:21because we need a rug in our bedroom.
- 25:25I I love the rug. I think it's really pretty.
- 25:28It just didn't match the vibe I was going for right now.
- 25:32I don't know. No, I, I have the same thing.
- 25:34And my issue is like I, I'm the same way.
- 25:37Like I know what I like. There's like things I, I have a
- 25:40Pinterest board where I'm like, I love this, love this.
- 25:42Like this is exactly what I want.
- 25:43I see things I like, I know I love it, but then it's just like
- 25:48my impatience of wanting everything to be put together
- 25:51and like it just takes so much time and that's hard for me.
- 25:55Like that's it's really hard for me because I want it to be done
- 25:57and complete. That's called ADHD and I also
- 26:00have it the way that you were talking about.
- 26:03You save items but you don't buy them.
- 26:05That's what my therapist recommended.
- 26:06Have yet to complete. That challenge, I came up with
- 26:10that one on my own. So that's really.
- 26:11Great work. I yes, like I'm an avid shopping
- 26:17cart full on a website, but then just closing out the tab and
- 26:21never buying it. It feels, it feels something in
- 26:24you because it's like, oh look, I could.
- 26:26Get this for me. I said something, not a lot,
- 26:29yeah, like. You know what?
- 26:31I'll give you an example of quite an impulsive purchase Jet
- 26:35skiing of which I did yesterday I on Friday I got a coupon
- 26:41through this basically this texting program where it shows
- 26:45you fun things to do in Charlotte.
- 26:47It's called Nudge. Yeah, I'm on it too.
- 26:49Yeah, I guess. I'm to.
- 26:49Sponsor I didn't like Notice the nudge.
- 26:52Yeah, so it's gave me a nudge coupon for getmyboat.com and I
- 26:59saw jet skiing on there and it was a beautiful day yesterday
- 27:02and so on Friday, and I saw that on the weather app, I was
- 27:05craving a jet ski. It's the best way I could
- 27:07describe it. I've gone on a jet ski a handful
- 27:09of times in my life. My little brother's girlfriend
- 27:13has a house up in New Hampshire and they have jet skis and it's
- 27:17like the most fun thing. And I forgot how fun they were
- 27:19until I went up a couple years ago with them.
- 27:23And so I was able to corral 2 of my friends to also go on the jet
- 27:28ski. I probably would have gone by
- 27:30myself if nobody went. I'm not even joking.
- 27:32It's like sheep detective part too.
- 27:33No, it really is the impulsivity.
- 27:37But no regrets. We are we have deemed this
- 27:41summer me, my friend Leah as outdoor summer.
- 27:44Hashtag outdoors. No hashtags.
- 27:46Millennial ignore that outdoor summer.
- 27:50This is labeled as outdoor summer and this was one of it
- 27:54was jet skiing and God it was so much fun.
- 27:58It was beautiful. The person that I rented from
- 28:03sucked. She literally seemed like she
- 28:05hated us and didn't want to be there.
- 28:06Did she? So she was like with you guys
- 28:08the whole time. No, thank God.
- 28:10She just instructed us beforehand and then helped us
- 28:13get the jet skis back. But she was an hour and a half
- 28:16late. Yeah.
- 28:20Then she was going through the instructions and just kept being
- 28:24like, don't be stupid, don't break this, blah, blah, blah,
- 28:27blah, blah. You're too.
- 28:28You can't be too close together. There's no reason for you to
- 28:30talk. You shouldn't be able to if
- 28:32you're, if you're able to hear each other, you're too close
- 28:34together. And I yeah.
- 28:38That's just like if she's making it like, not a fun experience.
- 28:41No, not in the slightest. And did we bump Jet skis?
- 28:45Maybe once, Allegedly. I'm not saying I did, luckily it
- 28:49was like super minor, allegedly hypothetically, but it was a
- 28:56blast. We had such a good time and no,
- 28:59no regrets. OK, hashtag queen over here.
- 29:05I know. What am I doing?
- 29:06Two in like 1. Minute, I'm millennial, so it's
- 29:08I'm a weird combo. I'm, I'm kind of in there with
- 29:12you, yeah. I wonder how we label this
- 29:15episode because we are going on tangent after tangent.
- 29:19Yeah, well, I actually want to go back for a second to Corey
- 29:23Richins because as we were like, as we broke off on another
- 29:28tangent, I did look up one of the last things she said in
- 29:32court. She said, I can't believe this
- 29:35is real. Convicted of taking one of the
- 29:39people out of my life that fulfills it the most.
- 29:41I'm still in shock. I'm still in disbelief.
- 29:44Accused and now convicted of such a heinous crime.
- 29:46Convicted of never seeing you boys again as like.
- 29:52So she's like fully maintaining that she did not do it.
- 29:55Oh, honey. Oh, and then she said this.
- 29:59As much as you've been influenced into thinking that
- 30:01I'm a murderer, that I took your dad from you, that is completely
- 30:04wrong. That is an absolute lie.
- 30:06I will not be blamed for something I did not do.
- 30:10So please, I know that right now you may not believe me, that you
- 30:13believe I took Dad from you. And that's OK.
- 30:16I still and will always love you.
- 30:18And I'm asking that you please just don't give up on me.
- 30:20I'm coming home. Not today, not this year.
- 30:22But we're going to make this right.
- 30:24Our justice system will get this right, although this courtroom
- 30:26can't seem to. We have a long road ahead.
- 30:30But I will never quit fighting my way home to you boys.
- 30:36So I guess she did make that. That was like her last remarks.
- 30:42Oh. My God, why does that feel
- 30:44convincing to me? I'm so easily influenced.
- 30:47What? What?
- 30:49Richen's three sons also pressed the judge to bring the maximum
- 30:52sentence and impact statements read by counselors on their
- 30:55behalf. What, Her three sons were
- 30:57totally against her? Yeah, it's.
- 30:59I thought they were young. I mean, I think the one I can't
- 31:04I'll. Look it up while you keep
- 31:06reading. Quote you only cared about
- 31:10yourself and your stupid boyfriends, read one of them, in
- 31:13which the child referred to in court by the initials AR and he
- 31:16would not feel safe if she were out of prison.
- 31:18The child with the initials CR accused Riches of a litany of
- 31:22offenses, including killing almost all of his animals and
- 31:26potentially trying to poison him with fentanyl, too, causing him
- 31:30to have a seizure. Wait this is huge holy shit.
- 31:35Also right now they are 1311 and 9:00 so I I would assume that's
- 31:43the oldest that has the most cognitive ability to understand
- 31:46the situation. That's fucking nuts.
- 31:50That's so sad. That is so sad.
- 31:52I hope this woman, I mean her sentence, I hope it doesn't get
- 31:55overturned. This is crazy.
- 31:59Yeah, isn't that wild? I, those poor boys, truly.
- 32:07OK, those are our updates for today and a bunch of tangents.
- 32:14Thank you guys for listening. Oh sorry, did you not want to
- 32:17end I? No, it's OK.
- 32:19OK. I think we.
- 32:21Are going to be uploading some extra content that we're about
- 32:24to record on to Patreon, talking about how we came up with the
- 32:28name. I'm going to talk about the
- 32:30editing process and the journey we have been on to get great
- 32:34sound quality. Hopefully you can agree with
- 32:38that and just in general what it's like to start a podcast.
- 32:43Yeah. Because you guys can do this
- 32:47too. No, don't, don't over saturate
- 32:50the industry so we can become famous.
- 32:53No but seriously this has been a blast and can't wait to continue
- 32:58it. Thank you guys so much.
- 33:01If you managed to get through this episode for the 5 minutes
- 33:04of updates and then the 30 minutes of tangents, really
- 33:08appreciate it. Have a great rest of your day.
- 33:11That's how I end all of my client calls.
- 33:13Have a great have a great rest of your day.
- 33:15And then I do a weird awkward wave and every single time it's
- 33:19become a meme with my Co workers.
- 33:21I go, I just do a single hand. I go.
- 33:24Bye, bye. Yeah, I know.
- 33:26So picture me doing that guys. OK, bye.
- 33:32That's it for today's episode. Thank you for listening.
- 33:35If you're loving the show or hating it, make sure to follow

- 33:55Generational wealth. Generational wealth, I said it
- 34:00weird. I know.
- 34:02It's 'cause my throat, I think. Do you have allergies?
- 34:05Too sugarganta me garganta. Oh, you're you have allergies
- 34:13too? I do, I take medication.
- 34:17I complained for a good while and never took medication and
- 34:20then I thought people would probably not want to hear about
- 34:23it anymore. Nemo is sneezing as he does he
- 34:26fake sneezes to get attention. Thank you so much.
- 34:29That's. What people thought you were
- 34:31doing when you were complaining about your.
- 34:33Allergies. Oh my God.
- 34:34He learns from the best. He I swear to God, this dog has
- 34:38inherited my entire personality. He they say that that happens
- 34:41and I I can see it love that he's so deep.
- 34:47Let. Me, give him a treat and see if
- 34:49he chills. OK.
