- 0:20Speaker 1: Your Yeah, you're five hours left to get a free
- 0:24Speaker 1: trial of nitro.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Oh it's not that. It's not that deep, bro. Yeah,
- 0:29Speaker 2: just like I'm gonna leave this in and hope Z
- 0:32Speaker 2: listens to it, just to piss him off. What this? Yeah,
- 0:36Speaker 2: So we did the episode of Altered Corner and like
- 0:38Speaker 2: we had like a little fun thing in the beginning,
- 0:40Speaker 2: and I left like the original exposition in there because
- 0:43Speaker 2: we had a funny joke about hamsters and the wheels
- 0:46Speaker 2: running my internet. And he's like, why do we keep
- 0:50Speaker 2: that in there? And I was like, because I thought
- 0:51Speaker 2: it was funny, Like he gave a little context to
- 0:53Speaker 2: what we were talking about. He's like, who was stupid?
- 1:00Speaker 3: But now it has no connection to our cast at all. Looking,
- 1:04Speaker 3: that's a rabbit hole, man, that's a rabbit.
- 1:06Speaker 2: That's a rabbit hole. Do rabbits dig holes? Or is
- 1:09Speaker 2: that just Alice in Wonderland? They do?
- 1:11Speaker 1: They definitely do. I read watership down.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I'm not allowed to go into rabbit holes. I'm told
- 1:17Speaker 2: that was that was Sarah withanol.
- 1:20Speaker 3: But we can talk about some rabbit holes in prophetic visions.
- 1:24Speaker 2: We can't.
- 1:25Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 1:26Speaker 2: Everybody? I am the one, the only the w O okay,
- 1:29Speaker 2: I e again, we keep missing a misfit. It's okay.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Dance here in cardboard version, not in my house. Hello,
- 1:37Speaker 2: key Forge community. Ah, angry bank frod.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I'm so angry.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Hello key Forge community.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Glad to be here.
- 1:53Speaker 2: And he's changed his voice. He's now sexy core.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, deep sexy sick tones from yeah the dras cards.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Drinking in audience, drink it in yeah, enjoy that luscious
- 2:06Speaker 2: voice there.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but we can't we can't go you know some
- 2:12Speaker 1: some usinex ros here that I'm just sucking on. Oh yeah,
- 2:20Speaker 1: so sore throat plus pain Relief three in one formula
- 2:25Speaker 1: Reveal meditation. Do you maximum strength pain relief astros?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Now?
- 2:35Speaker 1: I read directions like the ab for some over the
- 2:39Speaker 1: counter bullshit.
- 2:40Speaker 2: That's what it says.
- 2:42Speaker 3: For your donation, dras car.
- 2:45Speaker 2: When you take medicine, do you like what kind of
- 2:48Speaker 2: medicine do you? Do you like to take like the lozenges,
- 2:50Speaker 2: the pill or do you take the liquid? I mean
- 2:56Speaker 2: the just like you know, little yeah, a little bits. Yeah,
- 3:02Speaker 2: I I I'm gonna go.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Like, I'm gonna go liquid for him, But I really
- 3:05Speaker 3: don't like my I like the.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Like I feel like the liquid works better than all
- 3:11Speaker 2: the rest. That burn that goes down your throat like
- 3:15Speaker 2: makes you feel like it's working.
- 3:18Speaker 1: There is so like for a while I was doing
- 3:20Speaker 1: like the you know that robotus some red which is terrible.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Oh god, so good.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I love it.
- 3:27Speaker 2: No, they probably have some like fruit flavor listed on
- 3:31Speaker 2: the bottle. I think it's tastes like here's my dollar.
- 3:34Speaker 2: It tastes like ship. It tastes horrible, but like if
- 3:37Speaker 2: burn's going down, so you're like, oh yeah, this is
- 3:39Speaker 2: gonna work because the worst it tastes, the better it is.
- 3:44Speaker 2: For the better it works.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Well, they have a honey flavored one. Now it's a
- 3:48Speaker 1: lot better.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Tastes like honeyed flavored balls. But all right, Protic Vision
- 3:56Speaker 2: the game found has released today or prophetic.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Ironically, I I could go ahead and see this conversation
- 4:04Speaker 3: coming because of some prophetic visions. Yes, it did release
- 4:08Speaker 3: earlier this mornings.
- 4:09Speaker 1: We're about ten hours in.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Trying to keep things booving here Loki, but yeah, we're
- 4:16Speaker 3: ten hours in and boys and girls, we have already
- 4:20Speaker 3: met our fifty thousand dollars goal and we're at ninety
- 4:23Speaker 3: five thousand dollars.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Did that surprise any of you.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I don't know. No, I've learned not be surprised anymore.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I found it interesting. So right now we had three
- 4:38Speaker 3: hundred and twenty six packers that surprised me.
- 4:40Speaker 2: They're not nine seven.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Oh we got another one.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Got another, but on another sucker.
- 4:50Speaker 3: But I think the high dollar amount is interesting. Looking
- 4:54Speaker 3: at the tears, I appreciate that they were released ahead
- 4:57Speaker 3: of time so that people could see, so that that
- 5:00Speaker 3: was something that was nice. There has been some feedback
- 5:02Speaker 3: about an increase in some of the in at least
- 5:06Speaker 3: one of the tiers, so you're definitely seeing that. But
- 5:11Speaker 3: three twenty six, three twenty seven, when everyone will be
- 5:13Speaker 3: talking about, still seems very very low. So you have
- 5:17Speaker 3: quite a few diehards that went ahead and went out
- 5:21Speaker 3: immediately are two thousand dollars. Architect of the Crucible, which
- 5:25Speaker 3: is the big here like limited to ten backers going
- 5:30Speaker 3: to go ahead and get the biggest premium.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Reward.
- 5:35Speaker 3: But you get your ARCon decks, you get prophetic vision,
- 5:38Speaker 3: personalized decks. But what people are really going for is.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You have your.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Just I keep.
- 5:47Speaker 1: You get caught at, but I really keep seeing.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Sorry, I got distracted by this foresight deck, and all
- 5:53Speaker 3: I can keep seeing is people who posted foreskin site deck,
- 5:56Speaker 3: So thank you very much for that.
- 5:58Speaker 1: It is now forever stuck in my head, but extra
- 6:00Speaker 1: wide cut.
- 6:01Speaker 2: But that is that like swear jar or no, that's
- 6:05Speaker 2: like anatomy. So it's okay, you know that feels like
- 6:08Speaker 2: that gray area right like that feels like right like
- 6:13Speaker 2: it's not quite a swear but you're like, you're close.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I just it was a stumbling block. That's all I'm
- 6:18Speaker 1: going to say.
- 6:21Speaker 2: To play.
- 6:23Speaker 3: But no, the crystable of Me is their version of, Hey,
- 6:28Speaker 3: we're going to get your image put onto a keybordge
- 6:32Speaker 3: keyboarde card.
- 6:33Speaker 2: It's awesome. You know, it's weird, got it because they
- 6:37Speaker 2: went quick yep, almost like people really want their image
- 6:42Speaker 2: in a card game. What a cool prize to give away? No,
- 6:49Speaker 2: okay they did right now you're saying, and whatnot? That
- 6:58Speaker 2: would be a cool pert world.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Oh you design a car, you're design you design it?
- 7:04Speaker 3: Okay, so your image isn't there, but you're designing it.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I see what's there. I guess what I would like
- 7:13Speaker 3: to go ahead and wish into existence for our next
- 7:17Speaker 3: game found because apparently this is what we seem to
- 7:19Speaker 3: be doing I will say boo to game found I
- 7:22Speaker 3: think that there's a lot it's just it's not the
- 7:26Speaker 3: way I want to see this game pushed, and so
- 7:29Speaker 3: that that's a that's a bummer.
- 7:30Speaker 1: But if I'm looking, we just we just have to
- 7:34Speaker 1: resign ourselves to this is how it's all going to happen,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and like we should just expect this forever.
- 7:42Speaker 2: So I is here again, you know what, here's what
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm going to say. Mmmm, this does seem to be
- 7:54Speaker 2: the way business will be conducted in the future. For
- 7:58Speaker 2: gaming story.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Tons of companies are doing this a lot altered, did it.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Lots of like new card game companies are going the
- 8:08Speaker 2: crowdsourcing way. So it's kind of like one of those things,
- 8:14Speaker 2: like you know it just this We're just three grumpy
- 8:18Speaker 2: old men sitting in our rocking chairs barking at clouds
- 8:23Speaker 2: because back in my day, it's not how you did business.
- 8:27Speaker 2: But this, this seems to be the way the gaming
- 8:29Speaker 2: industry is being able to sustain itself. Like just I'm
- 8:33Speaker 2: just being honest, Like you're seeing more and more and like,
- 8:37Speaker 2: I mean, this has been a forever thing in board games.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, but so realize that within the last year,
- 8:45Speaker 3: for Essen alone, there was over a thousand new board
- 8:49Speaker 3: games that were went ahead and released. Yeah, so that
- 8:53Speaker 3: market has been absolutely flooded. We've seen it the last
- 8:55Speaker 3: two years being over a grand How do you differential yourself,
- 9:00Speaker 3: how do you set yourself up? I think that's a
- 9:02Speaker 3: real challenge. This is a card game, it's slightly different.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I think we have a different market base. I'm still
- 9:08Speaker 3: frustrated that we were told, hey, we're going to save
- 9:12Speaker 3: key Forge, and I felt that game found in that
- 9:14Speaker 3: realm was more appropriate. I just I don't want to
- 9:18Speaker 3: see it for I don't want to see it for
- 9:20Speaker 3: ambers guys. I don't want to see it for prophetic visions.
- 9:22Speaker 3: But yes, it is the cash cow. It's what they're
- 9:24Speaker 3: going ahead and doing.
- 9:26Speaker 2: It's fine again, it's it's not going to change, right.
- 9:30Speaker 2: They beat us into some like this is just this
- 9:32Speaker 2: is this this.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I will say, this is fine, this is fine for
- 9:38Speaker 3: you as but for our international friends, they really get
- 9:42Speaker 3: sucker punched with this. It's it's really bad. You know,
- 9:45Speaker 3: you win some, you lose some. I'm on Kickstarter right
- 9:48Speaker 3: now and I didn't know this. There's a Smurf's role
- 9:51Speaker 3: playing game for any of you.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Interesting, Wow, you can start up another podcast.
- 9:59Speaker 2: That was all the things that I thought would be
- 10:02Speaker 2: coming out of my mouth that wasn't one. But here
- 10:05Speaker 2: we are.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Well, while you're talking about smurfs, I do feel this
- 10:09Speaker 3: is pretty pretty blue. It's pretty caught and dry as
- 10:13Speaker 3: to what the tiers are. Real quick, you can see
- 10:18Speaker 3: nothing has really really changed. You have Novice of the Crucible.
- 10:23Speaker 3: It's your two player starter. If I am correct, it
- 10:27Speaker 3: looks like they've actually subped it up for prophetic fisions
- 10:29Speaker 3: instead of woe this time, so yay. You have your
- 10:33Speaker 3: Reaper of Amber one hundred and sixty dollars tier. You
- 10:35Speaker 3: get Seeker of Decks so six decks for eighty, Breaker
- 10:38Speaker 3: of Chains, pretty consistent. Four twenty five, Turner of Keys
- 10:41Speaker 3: seventy eighty five, Architect Crucible fifteen. I don't know it's there.
- 10:47Speaker 3: It seems pretty pretty much the same. We will be able,
- 10:52Speaker 3: We will be able to hit our thousand, which is
- 10:54Speaker 3: our first stretch goal, to be able to find out
- 10:56Speaker 3: what the next set is. So yes, you couldn't tell
- 10:58Speaker 3: us at KFC, so they you go. We'll hit a
- 11:01Speaker 3: thousand the second one, the second stretch goal I think
- 11:04Speaker 3: is a little more exciting. Anomalies will be if we
- 11:09Speaker 3: hit if we hit two thousand, yeah, so basically anomalies
- 11:16Speaker 3: will go ahead and can be found in the sets,
- 11:17Speaker 3: and so they'll be kicked out, increasing the amount of them.
- 11:21Speaker 1: So walk, I think we gotta correct because you said
- 11:25Speaker 1: novice it didn't come with well, I think that's wrong.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure the two player starts that still have
- 11:31Speaker 1: WEE in them.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Well, so this is the thing. It says, new to
- 11:34Speaker 3: the wonderful world to keyboards, there is no better place
- 11:36Speaker 3: to get started than the Novice of Crucible Pledge. And
- 11:39Speaker 3: as you're looking at.
- 11:40Speaker 4: It, yes, technically in the description, yes it does say
- 11:49Speaker 4: it still contains two winds of exchange.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Underscore prophetic visions. So there you go.
- 11:57Speaker 3: All right, I seeing corrected, like you was like such
- 12:00Speaker 3: a bad entry point.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Dollar.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I'm just well, so you're you're getting you're getting four decks,
- 12:06Speaker 3: you're getting two prophetic visions.
- 12:09Speaker 2: If I am just wanting to get into this game,
- 12:12Speaker 2: sixty bucks is a lot of money to be like,
- 12:14Speaker 2: I want to try this game, sixty dollars please.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Unfortunately that's very standard now for better.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Orders, not for card games. Maybe for board games, but
- 12:25Speaker 2: not for card games. One thing I did kind of
- 12:27Speaker 2: point out here add ons they have key Forge tokens
- 12:30Speaker 2: and keys. No tokens, just keys, though you can get
- 12:33Speaker 2: the premium metal keys for fifteen dollars. Yeah, I mean,
- 12:39Speaker 2: do you.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Feel that those are the bigger keys? I assume those
- 12:42Speaker 3: are the biggest keys.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Seventy five million of yep? Yeah, what's them written on
- 12:48Speaker 1: the back?
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:51Speaker 3: Well, I'm still gonna go ahead. I know, WOOKI you
- 12:53Speaker 3: talked about what you wanted to wish into existence. I'd
- 12:56Speaker 3: love to see a tier, frankly for one of these
- 13:00Speaker 3: upcoming Pledge level stretch goals that, frankly is I will
- 13:07Speaker 3: donate money for OPI. Uh, that's what I would like
- 13:10Speaker 3: to really see, because I want to see ope in
- 13:13Speaker 3: our local store. We got kind of boned this past
- 13:16Speaker 3: week with running out of amber skies and tokens of change.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Uh.
- 13:23Speaker 3: So I would love to be able to actually put
- 13:25Speaker 3: money that would guarantee that there's actually going to be
- 13:27Speaker 3: kits and things for stores, not even my store, but
- 13:30Speaker 3: just stores as a whole. And I'd like to be
- 13:32Speaker 3: able to see some better prizes for worlds and prizes
- 13:38Speaker 3: for upcoming Vault tours. I'm excited that hopefully something will
- 13:41Speaker 3: be an out soon. I do believe in Josh for that.
- 13:44Speaker 3: But if I'm going to wish something for the future,
- 13:46Speaker 3: that is what I am putting in and I'm casting
- 13:50Speaker 3: for that.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Just love to do with the Game Found.
- 13:52Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, I'm telling you, Drascore, I will
- 13:55Speaker 3: pay money for this game Found if I can guarantee
- 14:00Speaker 3: that that money is going into those facets, because as
- 14:04Speaker 3: a player, that's.
- 14:05Speaker 2: What I want to see. Yep, start a go fund
- 14:07Speaker 2: I you know what, I would probably I'm not gonna lie,
- 14:10Speaker 2: I'd probably donate money too, because.
- 14:14Speaker 3: That's really what this group is is, Hey, we want
- 14:17Speaker 3: to travel the vaults. We want to see competitive op,
- 14:19Speaker 3: and we want to see some casual op in our locals.
- 14:22Speaker 3: I think if we want to build a game, that's
- 14:23Speaker 3: where it needs to go. But if that's what it's
- 14:26Speaker 3: going to take is hey, we're seeing what the money
- 14:28Speaker 3: coming in. Again, part of that is already going out
- 14:31Speaker 3: the door because of Game Found. I'd still would love
- 14:34Speaker 3: to be able to pledge money so that it could
- 14:36Speaker 3: go for local op and for Vault tours, so that
- 14:39Speaker 3: we'd have some sweet, sweet sweet prizes.
- 14:43Speaker 1: They do have the retailer pledge again, retailer's click here,
- 14:47Speaker 1: So I'm send my guy out to that. Hopefully, hopefully
- 14:52Speaker 1: he's on board. We've been buying lots of decks from him,
- 14:54Speaker 1: so I think he'll be on board again.
- 14:58Speaker 2: So that should be good.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Where did you see that one? Because that we got
- 15:04Speaker 3: to be about in the front retailers. It's hidden a
- 15:07Speaker 3: little bit of retailers click here.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Yeah, retailers clicks and you know, standard wholesale blah blah
- 15:16Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah. But go check it out.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I mean that that is nice. I think that. I
- 15:19Speaker 3: think GG did a really nice job with that last
- 15:21Speaker 3: time of trying to incorporate the stores. It does create
- 15:25Speaker 3: this weird like, hey, is the the stores had no
- 15:28Speaker 3: idea are these texts viable? Can we sell them? At
- 15:32Speaker 3: this point? When can we sell them? So hopefully some
- 15:34Speaker 3: clarity can come around it.
- 15:35Speaker 2: But it works.
- 15:37Speaker 1: It works explaining so I hear word that there's some
- 15:41Speaker 1: sort of mystery something or other in the retailer pledged.
- 15:47Speaker 2: That we don't know what it is.
- 15:48Speaker 1: So some sort of looks like a display or something.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I don't know. That's what I hear I don't have access.
- 15:55Speaker 2: That's what I heard. We'll see.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Maybe it's a uh, maybe it's darker tidings darker. Oh no, yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: just every card costs three chains, more decks, more decks
- 16:10Speaker 1: that you are unable to get clones of. We'll talk
- 16:14Speaker 1: about that in a little bit, but let's talk about
- 16:16Speaker 1: one last job. We uh say goodbye and farewell to
- 16:19Speaker 1: the Norder key Forge podcast.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Yes, this was sad.
- 16:25Speaker 3: It was I'm gonna miss the guys. Uh. It was
- 16:27Speaker 3: great to see individuals who were part of our community
- 16:31Speaker 3: and put a lot of time and effort in. So yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 3: I say, I appreciate all the time and effort that
- 16:36Speaker 3: you guys put in. Sorry to see some of you
- 16:38Speaker 3: have moved on to other games and some of you
- 16:41Speaker 3: kind of that love for the game has has taken
- 16:44Speaker 3: a big bit of a hit.
- 16:45Speaker 2: So all right, and let's time to talk about Gigi's
- 16:51Speaker 2: newest meme, the Sory and Aquadon Grey Auger. It wouldn't
- 16:57Speaker 2: be it wouldn't be an episode of Help from Future.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I mean ARCNS Corner without our titular segment making fun
- 17:04Speaker 2: of Ghost Galaxy.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Hey, guys, you know what we should really put in
- 17:11Speaker 3: we should put in Gray Augur, but we just want
- 17:16Speaker 3: to see if anyone's paying attention because dis let's have.
- 17:20Speaker 2: It blew up, So it's down now. But they released
- 17:30Speaker 2: the article for accolades, which we talked about last week.
- 17:34Speaker 2: You are able to order deck deck clones and then
- 17:38Speaker 2: if they had participated. I believe these are all I
- 17:41Speaker 2: don't remember a lot of these. Uh, a lot of
- 17:45Speaker 2: these like symbols, do you guys remember those in the
- 17:50Speaker 2: in the talk, Uh, what do you mean? Like like
- 17:55Speaker 2: and they definitely so like you have like I thought
- 17:57Speaker 2: it just like contender. Now it says Tony twenty four
- 18:00Speaker 2: and then it says twenty twenty three Brazil.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Like, so.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Definitely. Yeah, so it says twenty twenty four. It doesn't
- 18:07Speaker 1: say what it is, so it doesn't say it's supposed
- 18:09Speaker 1: to say like contender or something. Yeah, so that's that's
- 18:14Speaker 1: a little weird. It's also positioned a little differently then,
- 18:21Speaker 1: was it the other images?
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah? Remember that?
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, the other ones are a little down a little more.
- 18:29Speaker 2: And I'm glad that Gigi has finally embraced Keyforde Celebration's
- 18:33Speaker 2: true name, KFC ye with the KFC logo.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I love you boys dearly, but I will tell you
- 18:40Speaker 3: the actual picture that was at KFC was a thing
- 18:43Speaker 3: tooth Cavern. It is this exact image it has. It
- 18:47Speaker 3: has KFC open, it has Brazil twenty twenty three, and
- 18:51Speaker 3: it has the twenty twenty four. That is the exact
- 18:55Speaker 3: image that you can see right now on the deck.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Clones and actlab.
- 18:58Speaker 2: We're not we're not here to talk about accolades. We're
- 19:00Speaker 2: here to talk make fun of ghost Galaxy.
- 19:02Speaker 3: For Yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Gray, So there's gray, So what what this image is
- 19:07Speaker 1: not the Grey Augur, it's the Imperator Driscilla, right, Yes,
- 19:13Speaker 1: Then it's got three power one armor, which I guess
- 19:17Speaker 1: Grey Agur does. It says it's in equadon, which uh,
- 19:24Speaker 1: Grey Auger is not, nor is Imperial d Silla. It's
- 19:28Speaker 1: got it says human scientists. Definitely, definitely, This Impirator is
- 19:37Speaker 1: not a human scientist. There, Great Augur is not a
- 19:39Speaker 1: human scientist.
- 19:41Speaker 3: It's a human monk.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it says human monk. And then it says each
- 19:46Speaker 1: of Grey Augur's neighbors gains reap one, gain one, and
- 19:50Speaker 1: exalt this creature, which isn't even the exact texts of
- 19:54Speaker 1: the Gray Augur that next of the Evil Twin.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Each of his neighbors gain after fight, gain one.
- 20:04Speaker 1: So this is just wild and then it's.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Game text, Like that's just game text we've ever seen.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Right, Plus it's got it's got like look at that
- 20:15Speaker 1: house not house the set symbol, like what is that.
- 20:19Speaker 1: There's like a little like well the yeah, no, rookie.
- 20:22Speaker 3: So the evil Commission, Yeah, the Evil Twin of Gray
- 20:24Speaker 3: Augur does say each of Gray Augur's neighbors ganes reap,
- 20:28Speaker 3: gain one, and exalt this creature. So that text is
- 20:31Speaker 3: from the Evil Twin of Grey Auger, which is a
- 20:35Speaker 3: sanctum card.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody did point out that this does say like FFG. Yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 2: it's in the bottom right. What year is it though?
- 20:48Speaker 2: So I thought that was funny.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Oh this was this is great.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I think that it brought a lot of joy over
- 20:55Speaker 3: something very very silly, and it was pulled down so
- 20:57Speaker 3: you got to look for those Easter eggs boys and girls.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Look, they should have up. Yeah, I should have left
- 21:02Speaker 1: artist j illustrator.
- 21:03Speaker 2: It would have left there. It would have totally like
- 21:05Speaker 2: started so many more conversations if they would have just
- 21:08Speaker 2: left it.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Well, but it's not like they go ahead and we'll
- 21:14Speaker 3: change any of the cards that we've given as previews.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Well change well, not all of them, but most.
- 21:21Speaker 3: No, I mean we joke around, but it did lead
- 21:24Speaker 3: to some great laughter and joy. So please bring out
- 21:29Speaker 3: your great augur sorryan in house equedon. Bring it back,
- 21:34Speaker 3: boys and girls, Bring it back?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Boy? Am I tired? All right? Time to talk about
- 21:40Speaker 2: k F to the C We ended last time on Thursday.
- 21:44Speaker 2: We have more days to go over.
- 21:47Speaker 3: We did. We had four days this year, and uh,
- 21:51Speaker 3: did you guys feel the difference of that first.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Day or is it just me? I mean it, it
- 21:58Speaker 2: was awesome. Yes, over all the day.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I actually felt a lot of pain here because of
- 22:06Speaker 3: having to take care of others. So this was this
- 22:09Speaker 3: was a little bit of limited sleep here. But Friday
- 22:11Speaker 3: we started off, we had sealed worlds and open.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Sure did. Registration was a hot mess because somebody broke
- 22:21Speaker 2: the system. Not gonna blame any names, but I'm gonna
- 22:24Speaker 2: blame Dan. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know.
- 22:28Speaker 1: But this is after Thursday that was so smooth, right.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Thursday was smooth. I don't know what happened on Friday,
- 22:37Speaker 2: but I was one of them. I did not get paired.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Neither did Sydney and one other person did not get paired. Yeah,
- 22:48Speaker 2: and then so then they kind of they I think
- 22:50Speaker 2: manually paired us. And then we were told stop, whoever
- 22:56Speaker 2: you're sitting across from, you're not playing those people. I
- 22:59Speaker 2: guess we should talk about Fancy Forge first though. Huh oh. Yeah,
- 23:04Speaker 2: Friday was also Fancy Forge Fancy Forge Friday for all
- 23:08Speaker 2: the people at home, did.
- 23:11Speaker 1: You guys bring your suit jackets?
- 23:12Speaker 2: I did, Yeah, we did. I did.
- 23:16Speaker 3: I had a whole suit and well.
- 23:18Speaker 1: You definitely had that assistant principal attire going.
- 23:22Speaker 2: You sure did, didn't he I think sneakers everything, all right.
- 23:29Speaker 3: That was the only thing. Typically I would have on
- 23:33Speaker 3: my black actual dress shoes, but I wanted a little
- 23:36Speaker 3: bit of comf and being comfy. I think it was important.
- 23:40Speaker 3: So shout out to our.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Newly weds.
- 23:44Speaker 3: We can say that in yep, and so beautiful wedding
- 23:52Speaker 3: dress and suits. And there's a lot of people who
- 23:54Speaker 3: actually dressed for Fancy Forge. So it was great to
- 23:56Speaker 3: see from the community. Just something fun to dress up for.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Yeah, So I guess just to clarify for folks that
- 24:01Speaker 1: don't know, so basically Emperor Ku Bamboo. They asked in
- 24:05Speaker 1: advance for everyone to come and dress fancy, bring a
- 24:10Speaker 1: fancy outfit because they're celebrating their wedding slash honeymoon by
- 24:16Speaker 1: coming all the way from Vietnam to the US to
- 24:18Speaker 1: do a bunch of stuff, including come to key Forge celebration,
- 24:23Speaker 1: which is pretty pretty cool. I was actually pleased that
- 24:32Speaker 1: so many people did dress up. I was a little
- 24:34Speaker 1: bit like, oh, or like, not that many people are
- 24:36Speaker 1: going to do it, but there was a ton of
- 24:39Speaker 1: folks wearing something fancy, so it was pretty cool.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty cool. But yeah, we're gonna get in a
- 24:53Speaker 2: sealed and I just I see al wey have sealed?
- 24:56Speaker 2: How did you do? Drass? You have your static? Yeah
- 25:01Speaker 2: it was this is this what was in your deck?
- 25:04Speaker 2: Uh draft three times rise, two times E P T
- 25:09Speaker 2: T two times event.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah this is my deck YEP.
- 25:13Speaker 3: So I uh.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I did alright, I did. I got pretty far.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Uh yeah, triple triple riot is is a good time
- 25:24Speaker 1: when you when you open that time traveler, double vent
- 25:27Speaker 1: and double EP. So I had lots of tools and
- 25:30Speaker 1: I got pretty far. I I almost made it. I
- 25:34Speaker 1: felt like to the top cut but not quite. So
- 25:37Speaker 1: I think it is interesting because if you remember back
- 25:40Speaker 1: to the last episode, I really liked my gr decks
- 25:47Speaker 1: more and I went, oh too there and these I
- 25:49Speaker 1: had some good stuff, but then I had a bunch
- 25:51Speaker 1: of junk in addition to these cards I mentioned, uh,
- 25:54Speaker 1: and I did a lot better, So you know, sometimes
- 25:57Speaker 1: it's very much matchup.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I feel like I had junk both days. I actually
- 26:05Speaker 2: did really well. And Ember because this was Ember Sky's
- 26:12Speaker 2: so a lot of people are playing this, maybe not
- 26:14Speaker 2: for the first time, but alliancing this for the first time.
- 26:19Speaker 2: I got absolutely cracked Game one by what is it
- 26:24Speaker 2: Finn's whatever one where each Preacher games destroyed. Game two member, yeah,
- 26:35Speaker 2: that could be pretty good and sealed destroyed by it.
- 26:42Speaker 2: So it came out. He got to take advantage of
- 26:45Speaker 2: it first. I can't remember. I know I was playing someone.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I don't remember who I was playing, but you got
- 26:50Speaker 2: to take advantage of it first. And then I stole it.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I don't remember how I stole it. That I mean,
- 26:59Speaker 2: it's double sided, not all. Yeah, well I stole it
- 27:02Speaker 2: to kill it because I wanted it dead, but not
- 27:03Speaker 2: after I created like forty seven number. But the problem
- 27:07Speaker 2: was we both had. There's literally like nose, there's like
- 27:11Speaker 2: one card in this set that this scaling under control,
- 27:14Speaker 2: that's redline rotation. I did not get one. So it
- 27:20Speaker 2: was like, well, I forged a quil that I for
- 27:21Speaker 2: Jequille and he forges a key that I forged a
- 27:23Speaker 2: key and then but then it was done right, So
- 27:26Speaker 2: that was my game one. Then I went went five
- 27:29Speaker 2: in a row, nice to then get bounced in round six.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I was like five and two. This sound be us?
- 27:40Speaker 1: That's good. That was a good run.
- 27:42Speaker 2: It was a great run. It's just it's a lot
- 27:44Speaker 2: of playing key Forge to like get nowhere. So with that,
- 27:49Speaker 2: Willkie bits that.
- 27:50Speaker 3: That's interesting because I had a couple of people since
- 27:53Speaker 3: KFC who've kind of reached out and talked about the
- 27:55Speaker 3: old FFG days of just a straight here six rounds
- 28:00Speaker 3: and using that information to be able to go through
- 28:04Speaker 3: and then the evening would be more open for dinner
- 28:07Speaker 3: and spending time with friends and kind of some side events.
- 28:12Speaker 3: What's your thoughts having gone five to there?
- 28:17Speaker 2: I mean, being honestly, I was frustrated, right, I mean,
- 28:21Speaker 2: it's a big field. I understand, like I had a
- 28:24Speaker 2: loss and I had a loss early. I knew it
- 28:27Speaker 2: was going to be a long day. Like I do
- 28:29Speaker 2: prefer the old days, which will never go back to,
- 28:32Speaker 2: but I prefer the old days of yes, you're gonna
- 28:35Speaker 2: have six rounds. I mean, if we would have played
- 28:37Speaker 2: six rounds, I would have been five and one and
- 28:40Speaker 2: on to top cut because I wouldn't have played that
- 28:44Speaker 2: seventh game. Maybe I would have paid five and one.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Because usually in the olden days, if you were you
- 28:51Speaker 2: were in, right, wasn't you didn't get a brick from heaven.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Ever brick from heaven, Yeah, basically the knockout if depending
- 29:02Speaker 3: on where you are now, pretty typically the five ones.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Made it in.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I would I would have been five and one a
- 29:08Speaker 2: few four twos, but right, But I mean, it's just
- 29:12Speaker 2: it's like, man, this is a long day to not
- 29:14Speaker 2: even make top cut. Like I just I felt like
- 29:17Speaker 2: I have nothing attached to my name at the end
- 29:19Speaker 2: of the day, and I made a really, really fucking
- 29:22Speaker 2: good run to end up on the outside looking in again.
- 29:27Speaker 2: So that was that was a little frustrating, especially being hungover.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I played my heart out hungover, But that was.
- 29:35Speaker 3: So I look, I stupid decisions made by super people.
- 29:39Speaker 3: You you made that decision. I don't really feel bad
- 29:41Speaker 3: for me.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'm just saying that that weekend and I achieved both check.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Can all right, I will pull back. I don't look
- 29:54Speaker 1: I playing a lot of round I played a lot
- 29:56Speaker 1: of rounds. I don't know if I played the same
- 29:58Speaker 1: number of rounds as you will, or you was out one.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Earlier or whatever, Yeah, you would have been in the
- 30:03Speaker 2: next round, which was like the I think there were
- 30:06Speaker 2: two rounds after that, because I think there was one.
- 30:09Speaker 2: There were but like there was a slot, there was
- 30:11Speaker 2: a weird play. There was gonna be a weird playing game.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yeah, So like I went real far right and the uh.
- 30:20Speaker 1: So so playing a lot of rounds, like it's not
- 30:22Speaker 1: a problem at all, the so so that part, like
- 30:26Speaker 1: I don't mind. I don't remember my record, but I
- 30:30Speaker 1: had a ton of fun.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:31Speaker 1: The where the issue came is I'm done right and
- 30:37Speaker 1: there's like eight people left, and I'm like, okay, and
- 30:43Speaker 1: they're supposed to be there. There's gonna be the Tokens
- 30:46Speaker 1: of Change sealed event that night, and we'll get there.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Man.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah, So how well how did you do?
- 30:55Speaker 2: How was I mean, my desh, my deck was Poo
- 30:58Speaker 2: Poo Garbo. I had menar that had it pretty much
- 31:03Speaker 2: had most of my umber control, had a couple Bizarker
- 31:06Speaker 2: slams in it. I had the Hungry Happy hippograph in it.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I thought maybe I could take advantage of I took
- 31:14Speaker 2: one of my geistoid houses, which really didn't have much,
- 31:17Speaker 2: but it did have double uh what is it whatever? Datamizer?
- 31:23Speaker 3: Yeah, theamizer, so that card to be able to move.
- 31:26Speaker 2: That card did hark for me. We might have to
- 31:31Speaker 2: revisit that card because double yeah, that card did did
- 31:35Speaker 2: did some business for me that day. And then my
- 31:39Speaker 2: third house was oh, my third house was dis and
- 31:44Speaker 2: I had like double mindfire clipped wings and literally the
- 31:48Speaker 2: game I lost on like it was against Yoyo Milkworm,
- 31:52Speaker 2: and like I had the mind Fire in hand and
- 31:54Speaker 2: he's at six and all I gotta do is find
- 31:56Speaker 2: one number in his hand and it was random and
- 31:58Speaker 2: I didn't find it. So it's like literally not finding
- 32:01Speaker 2: it at a at a randomness cost me the game.
- 32:04Speaker 2: But it's okay, I mean, it's.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Still randomness to find it. I don't think that that's
- 32:09Speaker 3: something you should count on, so.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Right, I mean, but that that was my out right.
- 32:14Speaker 2: I didn't have any other ember control in hand. I
- 32:17Speaker 2: mean I did choose my brob Nark because it had
- 32:19Speaker 2: a couple. I had a dB was it dB goober
- 32:23Speaker 2: see the one scrapped if they have seven or more
- 32:26Speaker 2: burned too?
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah, gobber gooberrobber, opper buber whatever.
- 32:32Speaker 2: So I had a little ember control in each house,
- 32:35Speaker 2: you know, not not awesome umber control, but a little bit,
- 32:37Speaker 2: you know, in each house. I was able to maintain
- 32:40Speaker 2: board quite nicely.
- 32:43Speaker 3: You know.
- 32:44Speaker 2: The deck came together fine, right, it was. It was fine.
- 32:49Speaker 2: I mean, it wasn't anything busted. It probably wasn't winning anything,
- 32:52Speaker 2: that's for sure, but it did all right. You walk.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Well, I just fell where on with a whole lot
- 33:02Speaker 3: of small little boards and not much to be able
- 33:04Speaker 3: to do with it. Ironically, Brobner actually did bring in
- 33:08Speaker 3: some amber control for those who found it some bigger bodies,
- 33:12Speaker 3: but I just didn't have much going on. I went
- 33:16Speaker 3: oh too, And so it was real, real sad, real
- 33:18Speaker 3: short quick day for e WOK. I did not have
- 33:22Speaker 3: much that was there. Round one I was supposed to
- 33:24Speaker 3: be playing Allen from Canada or visib Invictus, but then
- 33:30Speaker 3: we got repaired. Yay, and I got situated with Emperorku,
- 33:34Speaker 3: so that was really cool. I did actually throw in
- 33:36Speaker 3: a nice picture of Bamboo and Rico earlier in.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Their wedding dress and suit, very very classy, but it was.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Very fitting that we were partner together for round one. Honestly,
- 33:49Speaker 3: the game was going back and forth. Nothing major. I
- 33:53Speaker 3: was in it for first key, I got to first
- 33:55Speaker 3: Kiv and then it pretty much fell apart. And it
- 33:58Speaker 3: fell apart based on a couple of things. He continued
- 34:02Speaker 3: to push with amber on dust amps and he had
- 34:06Speaker 3: multiple ways to be able to kill. I believe that
- 34:09Speaker 3: was gift of Ember that was there. But the real
- 34:12Speaker 3: kicker for me and why I stumbled out, was he
- 34:15Speaker 3: had a disenhanced arcanometer boys and girls. Yeah, and once
- 34:20Speaker 3: once that fell, like I just I had no way
- 34:25Speaker 3: to be able to gain amber and to be able
- 34:27Speaker 3: to keep it. So he had actually quite a bit
- 34:28Speaker 3: of c My deck, all three of my decks just
- 34:31Speaker 3: did not have any removal and so I needed to
- 34:33Speaker 3: be able to build a board, and with his ability
- 34:36Speaker 3: to just pop little anything that was there to fight it,
- 34:40Speaker 3: it pretty much shut it down. An arcanometer just was
- 34:43Speaker 3: the absolute killer. So he won three to one. It
- 34:45Speaker 3: was well played, no problem, but again a great great
- 34:48Speaker 3: card to be able to see enhance with a house
- 34:50Speaker 3: pip and it was.
- 34:51Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Round two I faced Enzis Enzik faced multiple times, but
- 34:57Speaker 3: from Minnesota I lost two keys to three. It was closer,
- 35:01Speaker 3: but he had triple gift November and that is real
- 35:06Speaker 3: nice to be able to pick as creature removal. So
- 35:10Speaker 3: I did have a you go so our Skybeast which
- 35:14Speaker 3: would capture it's basically Amber Panada, and hey, I'll give
- 35:20Speaker 3: you one Amber for that Amber Pennada. But again I
- 35:23Speaker 3: just didn't have any removal and that's a that's a
- 35:25Speaker 3: real problem in this set for Amber sky So so
- 35:28Speaker 3: I finally.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Did kind of mention. I mentioned this to Josh. I
- 35:33Speaker 2: don't know how you guys fared with your pulls, right,
- 35:35Speaker 2: and I get it, it's all right, right, yeah, But
- 35:38Speaker 2: one thing that kind of like got me because on
- 35:40Speaker 2: day one, you know, we played Grim Reminders Sealed, I
- 35:45Speaker 2: basically had four houses to choose from and like a
- 35:48Speaker 2: bunch of overlap. Day two, I had four houses to
- 35:54Speaker 2: choose from and a bunch of overlap. I was a
- 35:58Speaker 2: little frustrated with that, being that like I don't have
- 36:01Speaker 2: a lot, Like I'm pretty much like I got three Bobner,
- 36:05Speaker 2: two Geistoid. You know, like there just wasn't a lot
- 36:09Speaker 2: of like choice because especially now with a smaller card pool,
- 36:13Speaker 2: like a lot of these houses are the same. So
- 36:18Speaker 2: it's like, oh, well, I don't really have much choice now,
- 36:21Speaker 2: I mean because I understand, like there's still gonna be
- 36:26Speaker 2: like there's a variance there, right, that wasn't it. But
- 36:29Speaker 2: like I said, maybe look at the houses, Like you
- 36:31Speaker 2: don't need to look at the deck, but like just
- 36:33Speaker 2: take a peek, like maybe give me like five or
- 36:37Speaker 2: six houses. You know, I feel like there was a
- 36:39Speaker 2: lot of other pools that had a lot more choice.
- 36:43Speaker 2: And then I'm sitting looking at my pool going I
- 36:45Speaker 2: don't know what to do with these, right, because it's
- 36:48Speaker 2: like these are, like my two dischouses were extraordinarily the same,
- 36:54Speaker 2: like beyond a couple of cards, they were the same house.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Same with my brother would give you that pack. I
- 37:02Speaker 2: think he did. I can't remember who gave me the pack,
- 37:05Speaker 2: but like it was just like I just just a
- 37:08Speaker 2: little more choice. Like if we're going to talk about
- 37:10Speaker 2: alliance and all that and talk about like talk about
- 37:14Speaker 2: the whole Uh what what's the word they love to use?
- 37:17Speaker 3: Agency?
- 37:18Speaker 2: Agency?
- 37:19Speaker 1: We could we could get a display, Yeah.
- 37:23Speaker 3: But you're also going to be paying. Yeah, I think
- 37:26Speaker 3: I think where it was. Honestly, I can't blame anyone
- 37:29Speaker 3: a GG. The decks that I opened, you can see
- 37:31Speaker 3: all the houses were pretty consistent. I will say Infinity
- 37:35Speaker 3: Strop in game one with EMBERRIKU did some wonders in
- 37:39Speaker 3: order to clear the board, especially when you have creatures
- 37:42Speaker 3: that are four power under and that you were seeing
- 37:45Speaker 3: with a lot of diss and with a lot of
- 37:47Speaker 3: mars and a lot of logos. Play play the cards
- 37:51Speaker 3: that you have, and I think some days you just
- 37:54Speaker 3: don't end up with the cards that you want. I
- 37:55Speaker 3: still remember old than Nail, Yeah, I mean I still
- 37:59Speaker 3: remember going all the way out for Worlds Glide sealed
- 38:03Speaker 3: that vault and I went I had an open three Brovnar.
- 38:07Speaker 3: It was single deck sealed. But guess what I need
- 38:10Speaker 3: anything but Bramnar and you get Brabner and it's sad Panda,
- 38:13Speaker 3: but it happened, and so you play with it, and
- 38:15Speaker 3: the same thing happened here is like I actually thought
- 38:19Speaker 3: my biggest house was my Equedon house. And it was
- 38:24Speaker 3: it had a cursed relic, but the amber ended up
- 38:28Speaker 3: falling split between the other two houses. But the Aquadon
- 38:32Speaker 3: pod was the pod that you wanted. So it was
- 38:34Speaker 3: just I mean, there were some things that were comical,
- 38:36Speaker 3: like I can't even get out of this, like I
- 38:39Speaker 3: will take this Equodon pod, but I have cursed relic
- 38:43Speaker 3: with none of the amber. Sad sad sad Panda, so
- 38:47Speaker 3: you play it.
- 38:47Speaker 2: It was too.
- 38:50Speaker 3: I just needed anything. I think the big thing for
- 38:54Speaker 3: amber skies is to find your creature removal and those
- 38:59Speaker 3: that had those that had some amber control, those are
- 39:02Speaker 3: those are some key pieces for playing in Zealed and
- 39:06Speaker 3: I did not have it in any of the decks.
- 39:07Speaker 3: So while you were talking about overlap, it happens. Sometimes
- 39:11Speaker 3: you get your you get your removal, and sometimes you
- 39:13Speaker 3: get your amber control, and sometimes you get it all
- 39:15Speaker 3: or sometimes you get none of it.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm laughing at our chat. Now. I have a
- 39:22Speaker 2: picture of DASCR with a thought bubble above his head
- 39:27Speaker 2: dangerous things to give to the Wookie I.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Kind of has forged key.
- 39:32Speaker 3: Well. I mean, you guys were talking about talk knowing
- 39:36Speaker 3: that I had gone O two. I had you know,
- 39:39Speaker 3: played around some other games. I thought that second amber
- 39:41Speaker 3: worked out well. I thought it was easy to be
- 39:43Speaker 3: able to join and got some food. That day, I
- 39:46Speaker 3: was talking with different people in the community, so I
- 39:48Speaker 3: took the made the best of it. But I actually
- 39:52Speaker 3: was looking forward to tokens of change for the sealed
- 39:54Speaker 3: events later that night. I know we had a lot
- 39:56Speaker 3: of international individuals, they traveled right of ways that they
- 40:00Speaker 3: were willing and looking forward to forward to that event.
- 40:05Speaker 3: I will say even a number of the individuals who
- 40:07Speaker 3: I talked to throughout the day like Okay, we're excited
- 40:10Speaker 3: and this this kind of ended up becoming Yeah, it
- 40:17Speaker 3: was that we're unwell, let let's let's let's let's say
- 40:19Speaker 3: that and go ahead and talk more about it. Well,
- 40:22Speaker 3: the problem.
- 40:22Speaker 1: The problem wasn't the talk of him itself. The problem
- 40:25Speaker 1: was the run up to the track event. So when
- 40:29Speaker 1: I when I got knocked out, there was like eight
- 40:32Speaker 1: people left, and I was like, oh, are they starting
- 40:35Speaker 1: the talk you know, the the talk tournament, because I
- 40:38Speaker 1: was looking forward to it, you know, And I was like, no,
- 40:41Speaker 1: there's still there's still eight folks laughed, and I was
- 40:43Speaker 1: like crap, all right, fine, there's gonna be like another round. Fine,
- 40:47Speaker 1: all wait around so so and uh not going to
- 40:55Speaker 1: dinner because like I want to play. And then they
- 40:59Speaker 1: get through that round, which of course, you know, goes
- 41:01Speaker 1: the time and it's like, oh no, there's another round.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I was like, what another round? So it's end up lating,
- 41:10Speaker 1: you know, like almost two hours before it's actually like,
- 41:15Speaker 1: oh yeah, we're actually going to play now, and DRez
- 41:19Speaker 1: it was actually two hours.
- 41:20Speaker 3: So for those of us who were out right away,
- 41:24Speaker 3: we did not actually start playing until after eight thirty,
- 41:27Speaker 3: when that event was supposed to run at six point thirty.
- 41:30Speaker 3: And that was a problem because I had multiple people
- 41:33Speaker 3: who came to me like they were just done, and
- 41:35Speaker 3: they're like, I already bought the decks, but frankly, I'm tired.
- 41:39Speaker 3: I think I may just drop or do I stand,
- 41:41Speaker 3: And I'm trying to encourage them, like, hey, we're gonna
- 41:43Speaker 3: have a good time, We're gonna make the best of this.
- 41:45Speaker 3: But that really weaned one people. I know that Josh
- 41:49Speaker 3: was trying to be super super sweet to the individuals
- 41:52Speaker 3: who were, you know, right on the edge of being
- 41:54Speaker 3: able to make it or had lost. But the short
- 41:57Speaker 3: answer is we ended up choosing essentially what ten percent
- 42:02Speaker 3: of our population to join, or a handful of people
- 42:05Speaker 3: to join, but we ended up impacting the rest the
- 42:07Speaker 3: ninety percent waiting, And that's tough as a game organizer.
- 42:14Speaker 3: But I'm gonna say, you just got to make the call.
- 42:16Speaker 3: If we say six thirty, you can have maybe a
- 42:19Speaker 3: slight delay, here's ten fifteen minutes, but you got to start.
- 42:22Speaker 3: It cannot be two hours later. It just it can't be.
- 42:26Speaker 3: That was unacceptable to be able to wait for everyone there,
- 42:30Speaker 3: and someone's gonna be upset. But I'd much rather have
- 42:33Speaker 3: my ninety percent who's playing, who's having fun, and those,
- 42:36Speaker 3: frankly are most likely the people who got out earlier
- 42:39Speaker 3: in the seld, so we want to get them back
- 42:41Speaker 3: playing earlier versus people who made it further in the day.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:44Speaker 1: So like when I went into whatever round it was
- 42:50Speaker 1: in the open, I I was like, when I got
- 42:57Speaker 1: to a match, I looked at the clock and I
- 42:59Speaker 1: was like, oh, you know what, there's two good outcomes.
- 43:01Speaker 1: If I win this game, I continue. If I lose
- 43:05Speaker 1: this game, I'll go right into talk. And so when
- 43:09Speaker 1: I won that game, I was like, well, I don't
- 43:12Speaker 1: get to play and talk, but I'm doing great, So
- 43:14Speaker 1: that's fine. They didn't start talk. I was like, oh,
- 43:18Speaker 1: well that's weird, but okay. And then when I lost
- 43:22Speaker 1: that match.
- 43:24Speaker 2: And then the wait.
- 43:26Speaker 1: So I actually personally would have been fine if they
- 43:29Speaker 1: had started it on time and I didn't get in
- 43:32Speaker 1: just because, like you know, you got to move people along.
- 43:36Speaker 1: There's a lot of people not playing, and so I
- 43:40Speaker 1: think I think the move would have been to disappoint
- 43:43Speaker 1: the eight people, you know, half of which we're gonna
- 43:47Speaker 1: play anyway, because they're moving on, or they just you know,
- 43:51Speaker 1: it's a long day, excuse me. But you know, instead
- 43:57Speaker 1: we waited. Now, once we actually are playing, I was,
- 44:01Speaker 1: I was a little worried that like a lot of
- 44:02Speaker 1: people were going to leave, but.
- 44:05Speaker 3: We we actually had before we even got to playing,
- 44:07Speaker 3: we ran into some other issues.
- 44:10Speaker 2: We did, Yeah we did.
- 44:13Speaker 3: So those of us who are excited, we're waiting for decks.
- 44:15Speaker 3: We're sitting here waiting and waiting, waiting, and uh, we
- 44:20Speaker 3: had gotten paired and we got repaired, and then we're
- 44:28Speaker 3: sitting down next to someone and we're told we were
- 44:31Speaker 3: told before, hey, it's going to be true sealed.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Crack three pick one. So ye that, Yeah, I actually
- 44:38Speaker 1: liked that. I think that was fine.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Well, I guess I should say the first the first
- 44:42Speaker 3: thing that was announced was that we are no longer
- 44:44Speaker 3: going to be playing four rounds, which was what was
- 44:46Speaker 3: initially in the flyer. We're going to play three rounds.
- 44:49Speaker 3: And then it was hey, we're running behind, so we're
- 44:52Speaker 3: going to go ahead and we're going to do true
- 44:54Speaker 3: sealed crack three pick one. Great, So there was actually
- 44:57Speaker 3: a lot of excitement. There was a lot of around
- 45:01Speaker 3: me regarding this, and it wasn't just myself. There were
- 45:04Speaker 3: quite a few people like, yes, this is great. It
- 45:06Speaker 3: makes it easier. So then we sat down, we get paired,
- 45:12Speaker 3: and there was issues. They're like, you're gonna be across
- 45:14Speaker 3: from someone. We figured that's who were playing, and then
- 45:17Speaker 3: they repaired us until we move around. We sit down again,
- 45:22Speaker 3: and then we're told you'll have five minutes in order
- 45:25Speaker 3: to be able to go. We literally get in not
- 45:29Speaker 3: even through the five minutes, and Josh bun ahead and
- 45:34Speaker 3: simply said that's it.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Shuffle and play.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Like they had not decided completely and we had
- 45:44Speaker 3: been waiting for two hours, Like if you wanted to
- 45:47Speaker 3: like let the other people go ahead, and everyone was
- 45:51Speaker 3: sitting there. If you're waiting for four people, let them
- 45:53Speaker 3: look for the ten minutes and extra five minutes at
- 45:56Speaker 3: your deck. I would have much rather seen that versus
- 45:59Speaker 3: rushing people people like, oh, what do I need to do?
- 46:01Speaker 3: And some people are like, I'm not sure, I'm not
- 46:03Speaker 3: sleeping this. Other people are having a heart attack over
- 46:05Speaker 3: on the side because they want to sleeve their deck
- 46:08Speaker 3: and their OCD is not allowing them. And it just
- 46:11Speaker 3: was we had been, we had been delayed, So we've
- 46:15Speaker 3: been delayed.
- 46:15Speaker 2: We've got a raw dog at people.
- 46:17Speaker 3: No, no, I'm fine with the raw dog, but we
- 46:19Speaker 3: have we had been, we had been delayed, and then
- 46:22Speaker 3: all of a sudden it was hurry up and correct.
- 46:26Speaker 3: And so that's the counter plea where it just can't happen,
- 46:30Speaker 3: like slow down, take it, here's your five minutes, but
- 46:34Speaker 3: let people take their full five minutes. Man before we're
- 46:37Speaker 3: gonna go ahead, and hey, you're you're playing, You're you're
- 46:39Speaker 3: going ahead, and you're roll in it. Just it created
- 46:41Speaker 3: extra anxiety. I don't even know how many people finished
- 46:44Speaker 3: for time. I don't think it really mattered. But just
- 46:47Speaker 3: give the people five minutes and frankly let them open
- 46:49Speaker 3: it early if they need to. I don't think it
- 46:51Speaker 3: really mattered that much.
- 46:55Speaker 2: I didn't play rod Dog the first round. I don't
- 46:58Speaker 2: really care riffles. I mean, yeah, it can order, you
- 47:05Speaker 2: could order copies now, it doesn't matter anymore. Term in half.
- 47:11Speaker 3: I ended up going ahead and playing Jim from Michigan,
- 47:15Speaker 3: who was my round one. It was a good game.
- 47:17Speaker 3: We finished with enough time. It was closer to the
- 47:22Speaker 3: end because we were not ready to start right away
- 47:25Speaker 3: and you could just see that, and I'm like, take
- 47:26Speaker 3: your time, We're fine. But knowing that this group of
- 47:32Speaker 3: individuals we're trying to look at the decks, just.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Give them that time.
- 47:35Speaker 3: That's that's all I'm gonna say. Round two, I faced Aviator.
- 47:38Speaker 3: I lost one key to three A master. That's that's real, real,
- 47:43Speaker 3: real good cardboys, real real coke card. Especially if you
- 47:48Speaker 3: can go ahead and arise it and then and then
- 47:52Speaker 3: protect it with but gate warden ame and a master
- 47:56Speaker 3: just pretty much with that arise and a rises pretty
- 47:59Speaker 3: with it being common, it shows up. So that that
- 48:01Speaker 3: finished the day. On round two and again they were
- 48:05Speaker 3: offering prizes here. If you went three and oho, you
- 48:09Speaker 3: got vault Master twenty three or twenty four deck.
- 48:12Speaker 2: I'm so glad I didn't play.
- 48:15Speaker 3: I mean again, just please put it into game found.
- 48:18Speaker 3: I will pay for some actual prizes that people want.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Round three I actually place played against Lucy in the Sky.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Who's Doug from Seattle? So sweet sweet see, gentlemen. Actually
- 48:29Speaker 3: he ended up doing well in one of the other
- 48:30Speaker 3: events that we saw. But this game will stick with me.
- 48:34Speaker 3: There were a couple of games over the weekend, but
- 48:37Speaker 3: Doug just pushed to ten Amber and I had Archimedes
- 48:45Speaker 3: and I had Neutron Shark, and I had multiple ways
- 48:48Speaker 3: to kill cards outside of Neutron Shark. All I needed
- 48:51Speaker 3: was Neutron Shark to be able to hit once and
- 48:54Speaker 3: flip one card that was not a logos.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I, me and Dresco are watching this game.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I did not, and I had the odds.
- 49:03Speaker 3: The odds were very, very high in my favor with
- 49:06Speaker 3: what how many logos cards were out and what I
- 49:08Speaker 3: was playing. So you heard me make a loud, raucous noise.
- 49:16Speaker 1: But Doug was really good.
- 49:17Speaker 2: It was a lot of fun.
- 49:18Speaker 3: It actually is one of those memories that will stick
- 49:20Speaker 3: with me. But we laughed about it because what are
- 49:22Speaker 3: you gonna do. That's KeyForge. It was. It was. It
- 49:25Speaker 3: was a logus card, and so I ended up being
- 49:28Speaker 3: able to take him all the way down with the
- 49:29Speaker 3: other three kill cards h to get right to ten.
- 49:32Speaker 3: But I did not have the eleventh because Archimedius is
- 49:35Speaker 3: a nice, nice archive loved it.
- 49:38Speaker 1: How'd you do? Dress?
- 49:40Speaker 2: He already said, how he did? Oh wait, I had.
- 49:42Speaker 2: I had a great time. I did.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Uh.
- 49:46Speaker 1: I think I went to to one. So I opened
- 49:48Speaker 1: my decks, Crack three and uh two aerial lists. I'm like, well,
- 49:53Speaker 1: I'm definitely not playing those. I guess I have to
- 49:55Speaker 1: play the briar in Star, which is another crappy token.
- 50:00Speaker 1: But I was looking at the deck and I was like,
- 50:02Speaker 1: all right, well there's not much in here except that
- 50:06Speaker 1: it just makes a million tokens. So I was just
- 50:11Speaker 1: board flooding with this stupid two power two hazardous thing.
- 50:14Speaker 1: But if you didn't have board clayers, I was just
- 50:16Speaker 1: gonna reap for six every turn. So uh so that
- 50:19Speaker 1: was good enough to win two games. The third game,
- 50:24Speaker 1: you know, they had some board clears, so I didn't
- 50:26Speaker 1: win that one, but it was fun and like it
- 50:29Speaker 1: was definitely a situation where it's like it felt I
- 50:34Speaker 1: don't know, it felt good because that that crack three
- 50:36Speaker 1: pick one like there was less like real real crazy
- 50:39Speaker 1: stuff and more just like fun on sealed things right,
- 50:43Speaker 1: and I think I would have had a lot harder
- 50:46Speaker 1: uphill battle with my uh not so great deck, but
- 50:51Speaker 1: fun deck and if it was a lion, so it was,
- 50:54Speaker 1: I had a great time.
- 50:56Speaker 3: I will say I had a wonderful time playing in Talk.
- 50:59Speaker 3: One we got started, I almost fell asleep before then.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Multiple other people were around, and there was at least
- 51:07Speaker 3: one person who had just left, like I can't handle
- 51:09Speaker 3: this anymore. But once we got going, we had a
- 51:12Speaker 3: lot of fun. Shout out to Casey x ray Man.
- 51:15Speaker 3: You opened a nice little little deck there for talk
- 51:18Speaker 3: and he finished three and zero. So it was a
- 51:22Speaker 3: lot of fun to be able to play in. I
- 51:24Speaker 3: know that it's not for everyone after playing and sealed
- 51:26Speaker 3: earlier in the day and there's a lot of people
- 51:29Speaker 3: who are burned out from Keybordge, but a lot of
- 51:31Speaker 3: internationals were there.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yes, it's just really cool. So many international people hung
- 51:37Speaker 1: out and played like that. That actually made me feel
- 51:40Speaker 1: pretty good that like, hey, the folks that had trucked
- 51:42Speaker 1: all the way out here were like, we're staying and
- 51:44Speaker 1: we're playing.
- 51:45Speaker 2: And it was it was cool we're saying and we're playing.
- 51:49Speaker 3: I will say we were pushed out at the end.
- 51:51Speaker 3: It was like, hey, finish up your last round, get
- 51:53Speaker 3: out of here. But there is a time to be
- 51:56Speaker 3: able to get out of the game center and so
- 51:59Speaker 3: just sacrifice the couple people who honestly did well and.
- 52:04Speaker 2: See borget right. Sacrifice, sacrifice the needs of the few
- 52:11Speaker 2: for the needs of the many. I think that's a vulcan. Yeah,
- 52:14Speaker 2: I might be wrong, that's vulcans. Yeah, it's vulcan Borger
- 52:17Speaker 2: assimilate yea. Yeah, that's more my style.
- 52:20Speaker 3: But I'm with Draz. It was a lot of fun.
- 52:23Speaker 3: I would definitely play it again. And I think that
- 52:26Speaker 3: going True Sealed was was awesome.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a good time.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Then people, did you guys head back to the lobby
- 52:33Speaker 3: and the lobby bar, Yes, it was. It was.
- 52:37Speaker 1: It was kind of late to go out when there
- 52:39Speaker 1: was Arkan opening Worlds that the next day, but I
- 52:44Speaker 1: did go back and meet up some folks at the
- 52:46Speaker 1: at the bar right in the hotel. M hm, and uh,
- 52:50Speaker 1: I think Wookie, you were texting me and I didn't
- 52:52Speaker 1: see it. Then I was like, I'm at the bar,
- 52:54Speaker 1: and you're like, I'm somewhere and then like, I don't know.
- 52:57Speaker 1: I was drinking whiskey and that should.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Like I'm at the bar. I'm like, come to the lobby.
- 53:03Speaker 2: And then we left, and then he's like where are you?
- 53:06Speaker 1: Like we left, I was like, I just came from
- 53:09Speaker 1: the bar. Yeah, I don't you know, my plastic full
- 53:13Speaker 1: of whiskey. Yeah.
- 53:14Speaker 2: I think we got food or something. I'm not sure.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I went to I went. Yeah, I went to
- 53:19Speaker 3: apple Bee's. We had a great group that had gone
- 53:21Speaker 3: out and Applebe's was hopping at like eleven fifty twelve
- 53:24Speaker 3: o'clock at night. There wasn't much else.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Open Sota, Like apple Bee's at eleven o'clock.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Hey, we had a group that was there and it yeah,
- 53:32Speaker 3: it was it was half rice apps and I don't know,
- 53:37Speaker 3: you want to put some food in your stomach because
- 53:39Speaker 3: you missed dinner, you probably didn't have a great lunch.
- 53:43Speaker 3: I did because I was O two, But it actually
- 53:47Speaker 3: worked out well. It was It was not the worst
- 53:49Speaker 3: time to be able to go to Applebe's.
- 53:50Speaker 2: I'll say that.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I ended up drinking some bushkill with g in
- 53:55Speaker 1: the in the bar, we were just drinking whiskey.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Whiskey. Yeah, it's like an I never heard of bush kill. Yeah,
- 54:02Speaker 2: it's you know, of somewhat lower quality. But you know,
- 54:07Speaker 2: the one we had wasn't bad.
- 54:08Speaker 1: But but yeah, we were hanging up with a good
- 54:13Speaker 1: time and then wandered into the lobby and hung out
- 54:16Speaker 1: with folks and codd you have a good time.
- 54:18Speaker 2: So Josh showed up at some point.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Oh, Wookie, was this the day that you decided again
- 54:26Speaker 3: to stay back? And You're like, hey, I'll go ahead
- 54:28Speaker 3: and Uber at home. Yeah, okay, so I just abandoned Wookie.
- 54:33Speaker 3: That's pretty much what happened.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Sheep abandoned me. You were already, God, I believe she
- 54:39Speaker 2: definitely is, just like I was like, oh, Uber, He's
- 54:41Speaker 2: like fine, bye, he sleft. You're right to call it
- 54:46Speaker 2: Uber from a trash can. I'm not sure long story.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Asked me about it, next time you see me. Anyways, Saturday,
- 54:54Speaker 2: we have the arkon An Alliance Worlds along with the
- 54:57Speaker 2: arkhan An Alliance Opens. Yeah, ARCon and Alliance Opens. Registration
- 55:03Speaker 2: went significantly faster than the arkon and Alliance Worlds I
- 55:07Speaker 2: think uh, I think both the opens were two rounds
- 55:12Speaker 2: in before I played a game.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Oh my, yeah, it was a long well they had
- 55:17Speaker 1: the deck check. Serious, they didn't have to deck check. Yeah,
- 55:21Speaker 1: and gotta do that right, Like it took a while,
- 55:24Speaker 1: I to be honest with you, it was whatever, right,
- 55:26Speaker 1: I I was fine with it. I know it's I know,
- 55:30Speaker 1: it's whatever.
- 55:31Speaker 3: They did open up another screen so that like everyone
- 55:35Speaker 3: was not on the same timer, which was.
- 55:38Speaker 2: Helpful has its own entire because we weren't so last year,
- 55:41Speaker 2: if you were there, Worlds was held in a separate
- 55:44Speaker 2: room from the Opens. This year we were all together,
- 55:47Speaker 2: so we had two separate timers, which I feel is
- 55:50Speaker 2: no different from last year, just we were in the
- 55:52Speaker 2: same room now.
- 55:55Speaker 1: So I and you if you're if your GG you're
- 55:59Speaker 1: saying yourself, we have to make sure there's not like
- 56:02Speaker 1: some question around sleeves or.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Absolutely no, they were. You have to take your time checking. Yeah,
- 56:11Speaker 2: even during a game. I believe a sleeve got like
- 56:14Speaker 2: ripped and Marcus did a fantastic job. You know, hey
- 56:18Speaker 2: we got to resleeve this and you know, doing the
- 56:20Speaker 2: whole thing. So I mean, there's no real there's no
- 56:25Speaker 2: I didn't feel like there's anything to poke at here, right,
- 56:27Speaker 2: Worlds is just going to take a long time, right, Like.
- 56:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but but you can't go ahead. You can't go
- 56:33Speaker 3: ahead and have all four of those events start at
- 56:35Speaker 3: the same time and expect that they're all going.
- 56:37Speaker 2: To go off right fine.
- 56:40Speaker 1: Like again, when I put in the notes that there
- 56:42Speaker 1: was a registration problem, this isn't what I was talking about.
- 56:45Speaker 2: This, this is like this was.
- 56:47Speaker 1: It was slow, but I kind of expected kind of
- 56:51Speaker 1: they did.
- 56:53Speaker 2: I thought the opens the opens fired pretty quickly. Yeah,
- 56:56Speaker 2: they fired pretty fast.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Yet yeah, no, I thought the opens fire.
- 57:00Speaker 3: We didn't have to do deck check there, so we
- 57:02Speaker 3: just registered and we were able to go ahead and
- 57:04Speaker 3: get checked. But I just I don't know, I feel
- 57:06Speaker 3: that for those people who had qualified for Worlds, we
- 57:09Speaker 3: want to check the decks. I actually talked with multiple
- 57:12Speaker 3: different individuals who are on the Lions and arkan about
- 57:17Speaker 3: being able to have decks, whether that's showing up an
- 57:19Speaker 3: hour earlier and being able to have your decks check.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Be honest, I'm shocked they didn't take our decks the
- 57:25Speaker 2: night before. Well, so there was there was an argument
- 57:29Speaker 2: and I heard the asment of like I'm I'm not
- 57:32Speaker 2: leaving my deck anywhere. Well, bro, then you don't play
- 57:35Speaker 2: in Worlds. Sorry, like period in a story like this
- 57:39Speaker 2: is Worlds. I mean no, I mean I don't know.
- 57:44Speaker 2: I guess maybe I'm not as attached to my deck
- 57:47Speaker 2: as some other people right like it or Josh or
- 57:53Speaker 2: whoever's doing it's not going to like mess with you
- 57:55Speaker 2: to be like, well, you're Duck's missing a card or what.
- 57:57Speaker 2: I don't I really don't know what the fear there is,
- 58:01Speaker 2: like the the number one again, deck copies are a
- 58:04Speaker 2: thing now, so not a big deal number two, Like
- 58:09Speaker 2: I have to imagine that there's you know, the game
- 58:12Speaker 2: center is a pretty secure location, right, not a whole
- 58:15Speaker 2: lot of like break ins happen there, if any. So,
- 58:20Speaker 2: Like I don't understand the like anxiety that came along
- 58:24Speaker 2: with it.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Yeah, what I had gone ahead and proposed was actually
- 58:28Speaker 3: to buy fireproof cases. That it's a fireproof safe, that's there.
- 58:32Speaker 3: You could easily stack the decks with the number underneath it,
- 58:35Speaker 3: that's there. I understand you need to do that.
- 58:37Speaker 2: I think there's just there's people in this community that
- 58:40Speaker 2: have a lot of anxiety over it.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they did not want to leave their decks with
- 58:46Speaker 3: somebody else.
- 58:47Speaker 2: And if they can't get over it, you just don't play,
- 58:50Speaker 2: Like these are the rules, this is how we're at
- 58:52Speaker 2: some point though, I just I feel like there needs
- 58:54Speaker 2: to be a foot set down, be like, look, this
- 58:56Speaker 2: is how we're doing it right. If you have a
- 58:59Speaker 2: problem with that, then you don't play.
- 59:02Speaker 3: I just thought it would speed it up for you
- 59:04Speaker 3: get for everyone who's playing an Arkon and for Alliance,
- 59:07Speaker 3: like you could at check it.
- 59:08Speaker 1: But this part went fine, okay, yeah, Well the other
- 59:12Speaker 1: thing where the registration.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Did not go fibe, that was how it was. The
- 59:17Speaker 2: other registration thing.
- 59:18Speaker 1: We had a twenty fifth players yeah.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we had a twenty fifth player Alliance, but.
- 59:25Speaker 3: That that had such a catastrophic like follow through as
- 59:30Speaker 3: a result. So by letting one extra person in, it
- 59:34Speaker 3: disrupts your numbers and how you're going to get access
- 59:38Speaker 3: to worlds. It is literally what we ran into three
- 59:41Speaker 3: out of the four events last year, where you have
- 59:44Speaker 3: somebody who is given a buy to get in and
- 59:47Speaker 3: somebody else has to play for.
- 59:48Speaker 2: But that happened in that happened in Arkon too.
- 59:52Speaker 3: It doesn't change, no, no, no, no, what I'm saying
- 59:54Speaker 3: is last year we had it for Arkon Alliance, Arkon Open.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: I think those are the three of the four or
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: five crag you still that's had.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: It this year two in in Arkhan worlds still happened.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: That it didn't change anything.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Well the numbers were.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: You still had an x one player not have to
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: play to get in. Like it's just it's this is
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: just a fact of life we live with now in
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: the two ELO system. This is where no, well, if
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: we're going to continue to do the two LO system,
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: this is where you live, right, you're gonna happen.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: But I think that's what I think that's the problem,
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: Like you cannot be pushing people into worlds under a
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: by scenario.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I would love to see
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: worlds be the old school six rounds top cut. I mean,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: you could even do a top cut. You don't have
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: to do eight. I mean I guess maybe you do.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: I don't know you could do four, right, Like, I
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: mean I don't. I don't know where the math comes
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: out because I'm just now talking about it.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: There's some number where it should come There's a.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Number where there's going to be a level of undefeateds right,
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: and it's probably four or even the x ones probably
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: is going to just be eight. So do the sixth
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: rounds eight people get in? We move forward, right, Like
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: at the end of the day, it's not that serious.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: I just I feel like it's not that serious.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: So yeah, So the reason for those that don't know,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: the reason there was a twenty fifth player was because
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: apparently a player.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Wrong event.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Something. Yeah, something was that what it was they they
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: had read there was an error. What I heard was
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: that there was an era on gg's part, like maybe
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: they put them in the wrong event or something, and
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: so they show up to play and they're like, not
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: in the event. They're like, but I registered, right, and
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: so they end up putting them in, which which makes sense.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: But they didn't remove the last LCQ player, which I guess.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: It's a tough one, right because it's like you thought
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: you were in three LCQ, but now you're not.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: No, I think the I think the short answer should
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: have been that we go ahead and the LCQ. Sorry, guys,
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: we messed up.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: We have the people, but this one wasn't on GG.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: So what I heard was is that the player had right.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: It was well kind of right from what I heard,
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: and I don't know if there's any truth to this whatsoever.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: I heard that the player that had qualified and qualified
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: an alliance right at a Vault tour of some sort,
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: and maybe it was a Nationals. I don't know, it
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: really matters less. And they had registered for the wrong event.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: So when GG is going down and doing their numbers,
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: they're like, oh, this is the amount of spots we
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: have open. Okay, right, and then you do your thing
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: and then you start picking players and okay, you you
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: you yep, you you you yep, you you you yep. Okay,
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: now we have our twenty four. And then all of
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: a sudden the day of the event, they're like, oh,
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: you're not on the list. It's it's again. It's a
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: tough situation because who do you disappoint. Do you disappoint
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: the person that registered incorrectly, or do you disappoint the
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: person that thought they're in but.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: A person who thought they were in who are no
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: longer in they went not in.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: I say you disappoint the person that registered incorrectly.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: No, because I can go ahead and bring more light
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: I can bring I can bring more light to this.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: So the player who became the twenty fifth player had
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: checked into the tournament before the deadline and submitted all
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: documentation as they were required to. Through an error that
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: was no fault of their own, they were not properly
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: checked in to claim their World Championship seat. So it
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: was released to the LCQ with that I can I understand.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: But with that understanding, that is a mistake that is
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: very clearly on one side, and it leads to issues
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: further down the line. It's a feel bad moment. Decision
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: was made. I get that, but it goes ahead because
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: of the by structure. Buys are worth way too much,
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: and when you have individuals who get in on buys
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: where that strength is stronger over someone who has had
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: to play, it makes a real feel bad moment. And
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: that's what's happened, and that has an impact on our community.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Life's full of disappointments. That's all I'm gonna say.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: I understand, but you got to look.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: That they didn't make that artic segment.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Lives full of disappointments, old Tim Taylor quote from Home Improvement.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: You know, and everybody's life a little rain must fall.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Suck it up, Buttercup, Hey, but I had fun in
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: the open.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I had fun, and I had fun and I
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: had fun in the open as well. It was actual
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: a really good time. I will tell you I did something,
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: boys and girls. I did not think I was going
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: to be able to do well.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: I'll tell you what I I went one and two
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: in Worlds. I got stomped out pretty easily. Sorry, Dexter.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: At least your deck has an accommodation on it now,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: or an alcolt or whatever whatever those things are called.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Sheep did pretty well though, I believe Sheep went. She
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: finished top eight, So yeah, another top eight finished for fraud. Nice.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: What did he get knocked out by? I don't remember.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: I think he had knocked out by Pirate. Oh that's right.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he was playing pipped out a dock deck. No,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: he was not playing aa oh that's right. Away was
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: the deck he wanted to play.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no, he wanted to play against gear Song.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: No, no, well, hold on Pirate so Astron by now
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: so Astron, which, by the way, it was awesome this
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: yeah Tron there he uh all the way from Australia.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: He uh. He wanted to play an AOA deck. He
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: brought AOA deck with him, right, and he wasn't friended,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: and you know it's probably the middle of the night
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: or something weird time in Australia and he's like, oh shoot,
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I can't can't get the friending. So he swapped it
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: for that's right, a beanstock.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Deck and Vietnamese bean stock deck.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Yeah, all the way to top eight, number one.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: I don't know who the printer is for the Asian Continent.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: The cards look fake, like I I played against one
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: of the decks and like there, it's like it's totally
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: it's weird playing against them more ink. They have like
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: much deeper colors than ours ours, a little washed in comparison.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: But when you're so used to looking at him and
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: then you look at theirs, like what did you print
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: this on HP? Like what is this? Like, it's it's
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: very different. And they're very strong decks. So when you're
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: getting curb stomped, you're like this stupid fake decks beating
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: my ass.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: You could really see it, right, I mean this this
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: decks just kicking the shit out of me, you know,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: by right, So it wasn't that you can see, it's
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: just like you're like the whole time, you're like, these
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: don't even look like real cards, and then you're getting
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: stomped and you're like, this is a fake deck beating me,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: just absolutely slaughtering me.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Because the two decks that beat me both uh both
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: not both were Vietnamese decks and the deck that one,
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: I believe was a Vietnamese deck too with pampoo. But
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: we'll get out on that on another day. But you guys,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: how did you guys do in the opens? Draz We
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: will get to Ewoks. I think Ewok has a lot
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: to say.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he's gonna tell us about every game. I
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: will not tell us about every game. But so what
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I did for the Open is so so some folks
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: know that I've been playing the same deck, the same
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Grim Reminders deck the whole season Aria Pylon Genius, and
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: it's been doing really well for me. A lot of
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: no no wins for the whole the whole vault, but
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: I've made a whole bunch of top cuts with it,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: so it's been really good. But not making worlds. I
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: was like, you know what, I'm gonna play ember Skies.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: So I got ahold of a ember Sky's deck with
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: me that I'm really happy with, and uh, it's it's
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: very it makes a ton of ember. It's got a
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: blue Ember drake. It's very very bursty, cool diss stuff
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: going on to mess with opponent and and uh logo
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: speed and did really well, went all the way to
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: top four with it, and I was very pleased to
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: go so far with a deck that it's pretty new
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: to me. And my only losses were in the main
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: rounds I lost to Emperor Riku, who had kind of
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: a similar deck. He had a little less burst but
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: a lot more disruption.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: And uh.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: And then in the top four round I lost to
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Emperor Reiku, so he uh, you were is my only
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: losses and he went on to win the whole thing.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: So I felt felt like I did pretty well overall.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: I was very happy. Alrighty walk.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: All right, so my decision, and I threw this into
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: our chat for all those who are falling along with
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: AC live show. The night before for talk, our good
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: friend x Ray opened up a nice deck. He went
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: three and er and we were talking about it and
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: it seemed to have some legs and I just still
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: was not feeling I had many decks at my disposal
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: and I could not pull it. So you know what
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: I'm in the open. It doesn't really matter. Second place
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: just did not get me to Worlds.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: So let's let's roll with. Let's have some fun.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: And I didn't invest as much time. I wasn't then
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: as invested in the game as I was last year.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: So that morning I grabbed the deck from x ray
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: and sure enough it ends up being it's Riku Meal
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: Pod from Talk. It ends up being a ninety six
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: sass deck here, and it had some really really interesting
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: kind of plays. So nineteen it was playing with Faucet
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: as the actual token, which is one power token creature
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: destroyed if it is your turn gain one. It's got
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: a really nice diss set up with Levy's Soul Subsidian Forge.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: She got gate Warden, double cinders for protection, a master
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: that's there. You have some nice steal from redemption with
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: triple Shricks, double gray Abbys, double scriven or Fabian, and
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: then the Untamed has some burst with double Flaxia, unnatural selection,
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: massing at Midnight, molly Mock, and then key Frog. So
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: it was a really interesting deck. It doesn't have a
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: lot of printed amber six printed amber, but it can
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: do some things. And so I'm like, you know what,
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: just let's roll some dice. My problem was I did
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: not have any reps with this deck at all, not
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: the night before. I got part of a game in
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: before I went ahead and registered the deck, and.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: So that you had half a game on this deck
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: before you started playing.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Yes, I think we. I think we had played to
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: technically one key. I don't even know if we got
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: beyond one key. So that was the choice, and I'm like, well,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: you know what, I just I think it does have legs.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: We'd seen it, I talked about it.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: I went with it.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: Round one.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: I ended up facing Eric Waters, a good friend show,
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: and I take a loss. It was I lost two
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: keys to three, and it was a really really close game.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: Eric I threw his deck up on and it was
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: odd Bjorn z payin Youth the Mighty. It ends up
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: being a woe deck that he had I had faced
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: the year before, or we had played the year before.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: It's a prospector deck. He's got twenty one prospectors, it's
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: got twenty printed amber. It's triple legionary trainer with prospectors. Yeah,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: it's got cursed relic. I mean it's a it's a
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: known yeah, yeah, Yeah, it's got it's got some legs.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: But this is the first thing, and it was your
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: you know how you lost on first scroll.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: That was the first thing. Remember, it was kind of
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: like you a first scroll. I can't because I can
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: burst with this.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: I remember.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, I did not need to ask.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: I knew because of your failure. Yes, And so as
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: I walked in, I was sitting were talking about it.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: But the game was really really interesting.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: He had to be fuddle.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: It came down to a couple of things. Early on,
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: he got his Guilt Spine School, so one power five
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: armor Auckland from in Fad token creatures do not ready
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: during their controller's ready card step play make three token creatures.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: I had a choice on turn one to be able
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: to actually fight against our amazing card from earlier Imperator Duscilla,
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: which is four power three armor. It gained splash attack
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: for if it has more any creatures, and again I'm
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: gonna spit out creatures, so I made the choice not
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: to fight it. It hit me for three, but the
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: later choice was here not to fight this guild Spine School,
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: and it actually cost me in the end because that
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Guild Spine School meant that.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: All of my creatures.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: All of my facets continued to be tapped exhausted, and
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: he had double sleep with the fishes. So I was
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: playing a game of can I get to my destroy
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: card before he can get to his? And he hit
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: his destroyed each exhausted creature, so he had a whole
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: bunch of prospectors. He drew all of his cards, and
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: because Fawcett only gives me an amber if it's on
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: my turn, I got nothing out of it. And even
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: in that case it came down to just the one
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: amber swing right there at the end. I did not
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: pull the key sheet for key Frog. It was super
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: super close, but it was a real sad like first round.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: But I'm like man knowing that I had misplayed that
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: I had never played a game like I should have
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: done much much better. I just would have fought gilsbind school,
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: I could have reaped, and I would have been in
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: a much better spot. These are as zeus to say.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: KeyForge is made on plays where you make mistakes or
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: you making the mistake. It was my choice and it
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: was but I definitely saw that with the bisal site,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: with the fuddle, I should have done better. Adult Swim
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: also sent my cards back in. So at the very
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: very end, after blowing up all my board, I was
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: still in this. I threw it a whole bunch of creatures.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: I was back in, but the adult swim forced all
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: of those little tokens to come back and I had
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: to draw as he went to ten. I got through
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: nine and I just couldn't pull them off the last bit.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: So round two I faced Nzi's Enzick again. It was interesting.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: I seem to face the same people, so I don't
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: know how the sorting and pairing works, but it was
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: nice to see Zenzi's Enzick. I felt horrible because I won,
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: and I won handle it. It was three zero. Anything
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: I could not get my artifacts did not come out
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: in game one right away.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I had all of my artifacts.
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: It was.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: It was pretty brutal. So that being es and scale,
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: levy of the souls in Obsidian Forge and with Faucet,
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: the ability to destroy and then to forge from ob
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: Citi and forge, it's.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: It's real good.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: It's real, real good. But I basically I think I
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: was a turn one, a master to a master in redemption.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: Tokens uh to be able to cause a lot of problems,
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: but we went into round three, and round three ended
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: up facing Kanti Cali well known. This was a very
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: very very interesting deck. He was on old school coda,
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: so true true coda. I did win, but I had
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: I had to be really really careful here. He had
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: TMTP and and he had drumble, and he was pushing
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: for a big, large steal, and so knowing that, just
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: trying to keep that check every single turn at six,
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: at six or seven, and just keeping that Actually at
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: the very end he had burned all of his cards
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: that I had seen, but he still had a rise
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: and a rise with drumble. I just went to six
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: and so he could tem tpe me, which is what
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: he had, but he couldn't steal any more than that,
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: And so that was the trick. But again, being patient,
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: being disciplined is really really important. And actually having played
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: now two rounds with that deck, this being the third,
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: I felt a lot more comfortable with it. And so
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: that went on round four, I faced.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Do you remember this down? Yeah, he writes it.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: I got it.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: I did write it down, but I honestly takes phone
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: after it.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: I was like, I think I played keyboards that day.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: But in round four I faced.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: I don't know what happened, to be honest with.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: So Spencer is actually one of the people who played
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: for our Mars event when we had our large twenty
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: plus Mars event.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: He had MMR and his MMR was discarded and he
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: had he had triple recklessness. So he had been rolling
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: with that for the earlier games, and just how cards
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: would get discarded as he was trying to get haunted.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: He would flip over one card from Haunted House and
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: it would be his recklessness.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: It was just really weird.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: But he only played one of the three and so
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: that game kind of went down pretty quick. And then
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: round five somehow my round one loss.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: I got paired up.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: I got paired up against.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Lord Judo on Pastor ass.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: I don't know does that count as a swears it's
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: the name of the deck, and it's a well known
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: deck at this point, but Pastor asses the Yeah, there
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: you go. I just got to keep this. This is
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: a twenty apparently coming out what Passer asks is the
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: well known deck that one sealed for the German Vault,
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: and then it was turned around and sheep faced it
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: in ARCon as it went ahead and took down ARCon
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: in Madrid, and it's I also posted that I believe
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: in our chats and it's it's a ninety nine SaaS
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: Grim Reminders. It basically is double winds of Death and
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: a whole much of Mars, double key abduction and double
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: Zixel Iron x Rebel, and then in case that wasn't enough,
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: you also have Spooky Charge and neat Seed. It's just
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: it's it's sick because there's little interaction for archive hate
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: before this. It's just a real, real, real good deck.
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: But I got super lucky. Turn one, I drop a
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: Master and the thing that Pastor does not have, it
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: has double winds of Death. But then after that at
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: Sea is nameless horror, and then Amberstorm it does not
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: deal with individual creature and creature removal. And so a
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: turn one a Master. He drew four cards and I
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: immediately threw four creatures out, and so seeing Lord Judo,
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: he had to sweat man. This is again one of
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: those matchups that will stick out for me. It's the
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: second one. It was back and forth. We were joking
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: about ahead of time, how we were not going to
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: go to time, and he's like, no, I'm gonna go
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: to time, and sure enough, like we had thirty minutes left,
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: and like it just he ticked and you could see
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: him turning. I had him thinking every single turn about
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: what needed to happen now. Unfortunately, he played his Mars.
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: I was able to get a key. In the Mars,
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: he discard one of his wins of Death, so he
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: was able to immediately get it archived, and that was
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: huge because he played Target, so I knew that I
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: basically needed to reap to get a key and then
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: it was going to be gone. What I missed, though,
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: was he dropped down Curse Tuman Wins of Death, so
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: he immediately wiped out thirteen of my cards and in
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: there was one of my key sheets that was my
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: key Frog. I was able to pull back Obsidian Forge
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: and Levy, and I think in retrospect that was probably
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: my one mistake.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: Obsitting was just too slow.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: I ended up getting in the final hand, but I
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: really needed to play key Frog, which would have been
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: an immediate key sheet. I protected the wrong card, but
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: still kind of thinking early on, and this went back
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: and forth, back and forth. What was really problematic for
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: him is he could not drop his Mars because Gatewarden
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: would not allow to reap, and so with cinder blocking
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: it's he had no real targeted removal again outside of
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: the winds of death, and so there was a bunch
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: of punches going back and forth. I got to two keys.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: I know that the double key abduction is there, it's
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: just a matter of how to be able to use it.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: He ends up archiving a whole bunch.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: I can.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: I basically have to really think about how I'm keeping
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: him off of key with the amount of amber he's gaining,
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: so Facet unfortunately is not I'm stealing his amber. So
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: I was pretty pretty thought provoking about how to be
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: able to do that. It ends up that on the
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: second last turn, I kind of draw dead. I have
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: a choice that I can stop him because he plays
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: his mars. So he played his untamed with hunting, which
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: he bursts it up for his second key, and now
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: I have the choice that I can go ahead and
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: play my what's the I have first or last, and
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: I can either do that or I can flax you
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: you But he had just dropped his increased key to eight,
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: and so I basically only had one choice, and it
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: was to play first or last. But I did not
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: have a single amber in that house, so I get
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: rid of his haunting, which it keeps him off key there,
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: but it opens up that he then on the next
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: turn can burst with some amber and if I don't
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: take him off there, he's going to key cheat the
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: turn after.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: And that's what happened.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: But this amazing, amazing deck again, Lord Judo was saying
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: he was sweating. I gotta believe him. He was thinking
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: this one all the way through. It was a really
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: neat chess battle going back and forth. It was a
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: punch and then a CounterPunch, going ahead and kind of
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: looking at what are the options, what do we have?
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: How can we go ahead and think critically using a
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: nap seed to be able to pull pack death for
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: the elimination. Just some really neat plays, but it was
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: not meant to be. My pair up did not work
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: for me. Pastor has does not have much amber control,
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: so that skellum remook was huge and it was just
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: enough because key abductions. He he key abducted right before
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: I could go ahead. I had the seven amber as
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: a two key seven amber. He couldn't stop me, but
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: he doesn't need to when he can go ahead and
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: key abduct and he had just enough amber to key abduct.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: So well played, well played, Lord Judo.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: Deal, Yeah, if you could have taken this out, that
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: would have been a real big deal.
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: It would have I mean, he would have taken only
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: one loss. But he ended up actually finishing second in
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: Open Worlds too, Rico, and so it's it's a real,
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: real good deck.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Alrighty well, that doesn't for the day's activities except for
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: you guys did your ABR draft. Yay, it's right. I
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: still believe this should be televised on YouTube.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: No, definitely, not definitely should you guys are just we
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: definitely we definitely say things that we all televised.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: Well, I mean you can't say that, but yeah, well
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: you know, or you could just do what I do
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: and yolo it.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: Well, you know, there's stuff like Plus, there's things that
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: happen where it's like somebody's like who's this person And
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: I'm like, uh, well they're local to be and they're like,
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: well are they any good? I'm like, uh no, comment right,
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: and then they don't pick them. But it comes around
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: to me.
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: I was like I grab them.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: They're like shit, I know I shouldn't taken.
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: I want to see you guys, like all in the
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: separate rooms, like like old school rotary phones, right, like
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: the trade like this call it. I want I want
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: that action, like just live and fast and furious. Well, Bookie, that.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: Was actually how I wanted Draft to get into Worlds.
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: So as your last chance qualifier, I still vote with
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: the big screens. That's what we have to do, Like
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: just have it one at a time, like with the
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: first pick we have, which would you like to play in?
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: I would love to see it, but I get I
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: get why they didn't and it doesn't have to You
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: don't have to go all the way to the punter round,
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: you know, maybe just do the top five, top ten.
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: But it would have been cool.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: I mean, we don't want x Ray to know that
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: he's getting picked last, so x Ray joy he can
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: handle himself.
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: But we do have the Drazz car experience. That was
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: kind of a cluster, but it was amazing. It was amazing.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: Like we did we went to this Romen place hell yeah,
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: guessing in Minneapolis. Yeah, but the car situation was kind
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: of a cluster. Whatever we got there, got there, it
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: was awesome. It was a tiny, tiny restaurant, shop and
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: here shows up, like, what do we have eight or
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: ten people?
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: It was then that and it was plenty of room originally.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: Because we got there and they're like, we don't have
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: space for all of y'all, but really like figure something out,
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: and then they we ended up figuring it all out.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they made it happen and it was great. It
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: was delicious, it was good, drinks awesome and our waiter,
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: our waiter was pretty cool too.
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: Man. Yeah, it was great good. I did enjoy our waiter.
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: But right, what did you do with Millart? Because yes,
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: it was there.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: So it was a Alort cocktail.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: There was a Alart cocktail and it's like, well, I
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: got an order that, right, that's what we've been drinking
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: pretty much all weekend. So I got the alert cocktail
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: taste like gasoline, you know, but it's cool. I've had
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: some of dras Courts drinks before, so I survived. Yeah
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: you did, and you know, after the third one, it
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: was okay, yea, it was pretty good. After the third one,
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: you're like, oh, this is not terribly bad. We had uh,
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: let's say it was all the ac crew. We had
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: drazz Corps, we had e Walk, we had myself. We
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: had let's see of chimera, I said, doctor Sheep, can
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: I maybe I didn't know? And the monkey. I'm trying
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: to think. Do we have anybody else? I lave it.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah. We had X ray too, and and and Dexter.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: So real fun. I don't know how long we were there,
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: but a lot of laughs had that. The ramen was good.
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: Everything was good.
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: I have nothing bad to say about the place. Kind
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: of a real cool, real small ramen shop. But we
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: made it work.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: I feel bad Pete siping over here. Pete was staying
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: at home and he did not come out with us,
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: So we missed you, man, But I know there were
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: other individuals and that's I think that's a real trick
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: for KFC and your vall tours and just larger events,
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: is trying to get everyone together and it's like it
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: is hurting sheep. I that was what was stated to me.
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: Get in the car, go ahead, we're taking you. And
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: so we grabbed as many people as we could. But
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: if we missed you, please hit us up next time,
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: because it is more fun with everyone hanging out. Will yeah,
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: well so, and part of the thing with the right
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: but part of the thing is like you can't. I mean,
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: we were able to squeeze everybody together, but sometimes sometimes
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: you just can't. So having multiple tables, it's fine, right
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: hang out with folks.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: Mean, I grabbed multiple tables pretty quickly because originally they
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: had us in like this little corner spot. Yeah, and
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: like two other people left and I'm like, grab those tables.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: So like we just kind of moved over and the
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: waitress came over and kind of scolded me, and I
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: was like, oh, I just thought it'd be cool, but
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: she was cool, and she was like, oh, that's cool,
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: It's whatever. Yep, But it worked out. Yeah.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: We were sitting across from those folks on the birthday, Hats.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: I was like, birday, Hats.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: I just wonder because like, here's this group of ten
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: people and we're all talking crazy, right, Like just some
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: of the conversations we're having. It's like, man, none of
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: these people know what's going on. Like again with the
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: with the raw dog and conversation that we're having that
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: makes a raw dog and joke and doesn't even know
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: he's making a joke.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: No, I just remember it. Actually, I forgot three or
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: four drinks in I was like, guys, I'm gonna get
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: into pickling.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: Forgot my commitment to pickling. I guess I better get started,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: better get started.
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I just I gotta imagine, I gotta imagine everybody's
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: thinking of us when we're just doing that. Yep. So
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: uh yeah, we also found out what people stick up
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: their butts that x RA again, no no, no, yes, no,
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: we're not talking about that. Definitely strange pictures on x
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: Ray's phone of things they moved from people's henuses. Turns
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: out a lot of a butthole. Yeah, it turns out.
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: It turns out no one wants to hear this.
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: And then sometimes, so what even is that? I never
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: one and I still there there, still don't know what
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: it is.
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: There is someone who still needs to take a KEYBOARDE deck,
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: so that that is out there, and punishment that is still.
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I forgot. We were going to shove. I
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: don't even remember.
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: So we had a great time, boys and girls, and
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: please join us next time.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Well, but there's more to the dress cords.
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: There is there is.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: We're like, we go to a bar, Yeah, went to
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: the cocktail bar.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: Yes, we went went to this cocktail bar myself, e
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: woke Dev dev Kabira. We uh we walk over to
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: uh this fance pants cocktail bar and get in there,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: like talking up the bartender and wait before we get in,
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: what did you think about the bouncer.
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: He's like his character's character.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: He's got the Minnesota basketball jersey on, but like no
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: shirt underneath it, and it was it was cold and
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: like it just it was a very interesting attire as
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: a bouncer to be wearing.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: So yeah, it was friendly.
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: Yeah, he was very friendly.
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: I give it.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: He let us in so they could let us. I
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: thought the aesthetic was pretty nice. Uh, there was a
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: lot of greenery that was there and.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: Looked like there's stone walls and the metal trusses and
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: like greenery all over. It was really cool glass it
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: was it was it was cool. Drinks were awesome. Yeah,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: and part of.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: Part of the glass actually looked like you were in
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: a greenhouse. So some there was like one alleyway behind
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: the greenhouse that people could sit and then just people watch.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: It was interesting. But I thought the drinks were really good, tasty, delicious,
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: And so I started talking with the bartender, talking her
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: up about tomorrow and like she's like, oh yeah, so
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: other tigue was here, right. I was like, oh, I
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: have that book. And she's like, oh yeah he made
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: this you know, amor mixture whatever, and so she brings
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: over the yamor and like pours it and it was
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: like delicious, and and then it's like, oh, your table's ready.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: I was like, I just want to stay and hang
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: out with his bartender. But but we went to the
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: table and uh, and had more drinks.
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: And was more like almost like a red hot That's
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: what I was getting. It was. It was so more flavorable,
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: but as close to that as I could say.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: It was like a pepper infused.
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: Marrow. Yeah it was. It was really good. It was
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: really tasty.
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: I I liked it way better than the description sounds.
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: It was awesome. Excuse me.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: And then yeah, I had more drinks, had a good
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: ass time and uh, I don't know. Eventually we roll
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: out of there and uh make our way back to
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: the the hotel and we pull up and you know,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: we're all blasted, and I think the uh we could
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: see through the window. Everybody's like playing key Forge in
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: the lobby right so ewalk and I just like charge
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: at the window. I told you what we were gonna
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: do here, and then yeah, and so then I think
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you walk just moons everybody in the lobby.
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: Right, That's what happened, right, that's what happened.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I'm pretty sure I saw buck crack. We
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: gotta as fabulous thing if if there was actual moon shown.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: There was not, but there would have weird.
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: There was a weird theme that was going on, right,
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: So you walk on. I think Day two wanted me
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: to moon somebody. And then X Ray is showing us
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: pictures of things that go up people's rear and now
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: he's moon and everybody at the hotel. So it was weird.
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: It was.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: You. You were spoke.
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: Yes, So we had two vehicles when we went to
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: go ahead and get individuals, and so as we were
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: rolling next to doctor Sheep, I told you to go
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: ahead and moon him and you did not. I was
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: very sad, Yep and drazz When we came back after
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: receiving some beautiful, beautiful drinks, then we could see everyone
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: over in the back and so I told us that
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: we're going to sneak up. But you were the loudest
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: person sneaking like you're outside glass and everything I could
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: hear you. It's like, oh my goodness. So we're just
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: looking around the corner and you're laughing hysterically, and yes,
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: it was a good is a loud drunk. He's happy though,
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: he is a very happy loud drunk. Like he just
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: like if you eyes are gonna sneak in like the
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: first thing, like you hear the doors open.
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: Hey, what's going on? Everybody? But we all had a
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: good time, and I think that's where we're gonna cut
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: it for this week's episode will go over Sunday Winners, Losers,
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: the podcast event we had, shredder tournaments, Meet the Guts, Yeah, ghosts.
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: We'll go over all of that in our next episode.
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: And with that being said, we'll see y'all next week.
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: I'll be forging everyone, May the Forge be with you.
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: Dresscrow will be feeling better hopefully by that time.
