- 0:01Yeah, I see the world through an entirely different lens.
- 0:06It doesn't just give you confidence, but it gives you
- 0:08hope. Take like we're.
- 0:11Squandering our energy, our life force.
- 0:14So Bitcoin is changing that. For me it's like it's.
- 0:18Healing energy. It gives you a kind of office
- 0:23then feeling right. Well.
- 0:28Deep and deep and deep. In the Immortal.
- 0:30Words of the doors, the time to hesitate us through.
- 0:37Discovering. Monica, how's it going?
- 1:02Hey DJ, I'm good. Thank you for having me.
- 1:05It's a pleasure, it's a pleasure.
- 1:07It's an honour. Buddy of mine who is friend of
- 1:12the pod, been on the pod once before, showed me your book.
- 1:18It didn't lend it to me. It just showed it to me through
- 1:21a like a text message. And I'm pretty sure you've,
- 1:26you've come up here and there on my Nosta and, and in the last
- 1:33couple of weeks, I guess I've been, you know, dipping in and
- 1:37out of your sub stack and OK, reading some of your notes,
- 1:45which sounds a little bit panopticon, to be honest, or a
- 1:47little bit spy. But no, my point I think is that
- 1:54you're exploring a lot of concepts, notions, ideas in and
- 2:00around Bitcoin, or at least anchored to Bitcoin, but pulling
- 2:06in from all of these consciousness philosophical
- 2:09things. And so for frequent listeners of
- 2:14the pod, if this isn't your GM, if you prefer the other other
- 2:18kind of episodes, I don't know, stick with it, you know,
- 2:23challenge yourself. So anyway, thank you for coming
- 2:27on the pod and I'm excited to have this chat.
- 2:32Me too. I love to be able to meet you
- 2:35virtually like this and kind of know that you've been reading
- 2:39what I write. And to be honest, I write a lot
- 2:42as an inner dialogue. I write for myself, like I'm an
- 2:46artist too. And I, I create art for myself.
- 2:48Then, you know, having viewers or having readers is like a
- 2:53second layer that I adore. But the intention is what it
- 2:56really to connect to my innermost self.
- 2:59So I can put it out there and then I can reread myself, re
- 3:03listen to myself, re see what I'm doing, because that's the
- 3:06way I kind of decipher this reality.
- 3:08But I love when people connect to reading my books on my stuff
- 3:11like and they come back and say that they they have one or two
- 3:14things that they resonate. So it makes really sense.
- 3:17Yeah, birds of a feather then, because I mean, this pod is is
- 3:21great. The people listen to it.
- 3:23I love it. But ultimately it's, it's like a
- 3:28cheat code for me to a, have some sort of like reality check
- 3:32therapy session and B, you know, just in it's, it's a very time
- 3:39saving thing. So I, I used to write a lot as
- 3:42well, but life at the moment doesn't afford that luxury.
- 3:48So I can have these conversations and kind of, yeah.
- 3:54Anyway, I think we're aligned. Let's get into the podcast.
- 3:58How did you discover Bitcoin? Let's say that this girl was
- 4:02trying to discover me for a long time and I was like, you know,
- 4:05when you have all this mosquitoes and you go, go away,
- 4:07go away. I'll I'll be back, but I don't
- 4:09have time for you. So I first heard about it from a
- 4:12very good friend back in New York.
- 4:14I lived in New York 27 years. And this is woman from my
- 4:17country, from Columbia that she just called me one day and she
- 4:20said, let's have lunch. And she said, Monica, whatever
- 4:24money you have aside by Bitcoin and I just like remember looking
- 4:28at her like, what on earth are you talking about?
- 4:31Like, because we never spoke about money.
- 4:33And so it's not gonna lunch. Mr. The Orange, please, this is
- 4:37great. Yeah, and she's telling, like I
- 4:40am telling people that I care for, which I, I'm really
- 4:42thankful that she tried to do that.
- 4:44But at the time I was, I was already very deep into my matrix
- 4:49of living in New York and being in a marriage that I wanted out.
- 4:53I wanted out of. I'm a professional artist.
- 4:55So I had dealers, I had like galleries that I was working
- 4:58with. But I already knew that the
- 5:00system was rigged. Everything was wrong.
- 5:03This is post, you know, 2008 and I had really seen the 2008.
- 5:08Really my life and the life of my husband and the company that
- 5:12we had. So I was kind of looking for a
- 5:15way out, but I don't think I was ready for Bitcoin because I
- 5:19mean, now I know that if I had jumped, probably it would have
- 5:23helped me to get quicker out of where I was, but it was not what
- 5:27I did, but I did this like this is too much for me.
- 5:30It sounds great. Congratulations, you know, like,
- 5:33whatever, but I'm not going to deal with that.
- 5:35Like a year later again, another person goes like, hey, if you
- 5:39have, I don't know, $3000 whatever.
- 5:41I mean, the price was so low, but it's like you can invest and
- 5:43you can really gonna earn a lot of money.
- 5:45And I was like, I got to deal with my and so I, I basically
- 5:50wanted out of my marriage and wanted out of everything.
- 5:53And I made a strategy how to get out because I was very, I had a
- 5:57company together with my husband.
- 5:59We didn't have anything separated.
- 6:02The match was not really happening.
- 6:03And I was hitting every day in New York.
- 6:05I was hitting the high time preference life.
- 6:07I was hitting the Fiat world. But I didn't know that that's
- 6:12what I hated. You know what I mean?
- 6:13It's like you don't like your life anymore, but you don't know
- 6:16what is it that you don't like. And I didn't know that what I
- 6:19didn't like had it was so connected to money or what
- 6:22money. And so that's why I kind of like
- 6:25disregarded. So Fast forward a little bit, I,
- 6:28I do get the divorce. I made a very bad deal in my
- 6:32divorce because I wanted out so much that I ended up giving all
- 6:34the liquidity to my ex and stay with like debts and stuff like
- 6:38that. I, I really did a very bad deal.
- 6:41And so I experienced for a year and a half like a lot of
- 6:45uncertainty with my future and a lot of nervousness.
- 6:48So I knew that I had to dive into myself like, like, who am
- 6:52I? And I've done a lot of work with
- 6:54Taoist teachers, you know, meditation.
- 6:57I've done the Kabbalah, I've done, I've been a Yogi.
- 6:59I've been like, I've been in the spiritual path since forever.
- 7:03But I knew that I had been cheating somewhere because I
- 7:06couldn't believe that I had arrived to a place where so many
- 7:09things were like showing a fault like it was.
- 7:13It was like you're not doing the right thing.
- 7:14And I didn't want to blame myself.
- 7:16I just thought maybe I didn't really pay attention to a couple
- 7:18of steps. So I decided to look for a way
- 7:22to to get back to those steps but do them correctly.
- 7:26So I found that I could study evolutionary astrology, which is
- 7:30a very logical thing to study if you want to find out what your
- 7:34soul is doing here because it's based on numbers.
- 7:36A lot of people think that astrology is woo woo, but I
- 7:39mean, it could sound woo, but actually it's more about
- 7:42understanding the harmonics and the actually the mathematics of
- 7:46your chart when you're born and there's a code and you kind of
- 7:49decipher the code if if you know how to do it or you have like a
- 7:53good advice, right or good teachers that tell you how to do
- 7:56that. So I studied that, and I found
- 7:59out that by studying that, I was finding the thread back to
- 8:03myself. So when I start finding that
- 8:05thread, somebody else came around and said Bitcoin, and I
- 8:09said, all right, how do I do that?
- 8:11And this person just downloaded one of those exchanges apps that
- 8:17you can buy all kinds of stuff and, and I put some money there,
- 8:19but I didn't pay attention. I was not, you know, I was like,
- 8:22OK, I have some whatever, I have $1000 whatever I put there.
- 8:26And then, you know, you start hearing that there are other
- 8:28points. I didn't even know the, you
- 8:31know, the title of shit points or anything like that.
- 8:33I had no idea what I was doing. So I started buying all kinds of
- 8:36shit, like really. But one day I had this clear
- 8:41realization that it will be easier for me and cheaper if I
- 8:44take the money that I'm putting there and I'm literally throwing
- 8:48inside of the toilet. It's going to take less effort
- 8:51than if I just try to do, you know, this thing that I'm trying
- 8:54to do. Oh, yeah, I have Bitcoin.
- 8:56But I was buying, selling. I didn't even know what trading
- 8:59was. I was just playing.
- 9:01And I thought, this is ridiculous.
- 9:03So yeah, 2020 came and I escaped New York.
- 9:08I basically left within weeks. I had a dream.
- 9:11The dream said move out of New York and I moved to Miami Beach.
- 9:16I didn't want to be in Miami like Miami, FL because I don't
- 9:21like driving and I didn't want to drive.
- 9:24I know how to drive, but I don't like driving.
- 9:26I don't like to be a victim or how to say like a slave of, of
- 9:31transportation like that. I, I like to walk 27 years in
- 9:34New York. I walk every block and I like to
- 9:36bike. So I'm AI like my bicycle and I
- 9:39like walking and I, that's it. So I, I thought, OK, if I can
- 9:44live near the beach, I will move.
- 9:46And so I just closed my eyes and I said, I want to live by the
- 9:50beach. And within 24 hours I had found
- 9:52the right apartment which I'm still living in it.
- 9:54Yeah, that's some like, never got A type stuff.
- 9:57My goodness. 100% because Neville, like I love Neville,
- 10:01I've been doing Neville for a long time and and I always speak
- 10:05in the in the like, thank you for this.
- 10:08And and I already I manifest everything that I want in that
- 10:12way. And I never, I don't doubt it.
- 10:14When I'm sure that is my my destiny, I actually listen to my
- 10:19dreams. My dreams speak to me and never
- 10:21question never I go, alright, what is it that I have to do?
- 10:25So for instance, one of the things that I ask myself every
- 10:27morning is like show me the way, what's there for me to do And I
- 10:31and I have hints that are telling me meditation, this that
- 10:35and that's why I follow those. I follow a lot my inner my inner
- 10:39dreams and my inner my higher self, however you want to call
- 10:42it God. I mean, it doesn't matter the
- 10:43Virgin Mary, Jesus, my mom that is dead.
- 10:46I don't know the ghost. Source.
- 10:48Yeah, the Spirit. Yeah, universe, the whatever.
- 10:50Like, I don't, yeah, I don't care about the.
- 10:52Name I care about. Yeah, but for me, it's like the
- 10:56truth. It's the truth that he's like.
- 10:59And it's showing me how do I know is the truth when I'm
- 11:03aligned and things happen in a good way.
- 11:05And if sometimes things don't happen in a good way, I stop.
- 11:09And I always say show me the way.
- 11:11And that's what happened in 2016, more or less, when I got
- 11:14the divorce. And oh, my God, it was a
- 11:15disaster for a year and a half. I was suffering a lot.
- 11:19I actually wanted to, and I mean, I've said this already
- 11:22before and I mean, I'm not ashamed or happy about it, but I
- 11:25did think about cutting my life short because I was desperate.
- 11:29I was like, I made a mistake. I made a mistake.
- 11:31I don't know where I made the mistake.
- 11:33And I was just turning 50 and just couldn't believe it.
- 11:36And I remember something very magical happened those days that
- 11:40somebody that now is a friend, she was looking for me.
- 11:44She's she wanted to be an artist.
- 11:45She was starting to be an artist.
- 11:48She had seen my work in in Venice, in a Venale and she
- 11:52contact me, she wanted to do an interview with me and I was
- 11:55like, why does one person want to know about me when I actually
- 11:59hate myself so much right now? So, but I, I answered the, the
- 12:03call and it was via Skype and it was such a profound conversation
- 12:07that she asked me by the end of the talk, can I and I mentor
- 12:14her? And so she gave me some light
- 12:16because she's looking at me as a potential for mentorship and I'm
- 12:20looking at myself as a potential to end my life.
- 12:23So that's when I turn everything around.
- 12:25I, it was like a light from, from source saying, what are you
- 12:28thinking? You know, you can be the light
- 12:30for other people. So that's when I started
- 12:33studying astrology and I, I committed myself to
- 12:36understanding my chart, understanding myself and going
- 12:40deeper and being always very open and true to myself, even if
- 12:44it hurt, I have to be on it. So that's what I've been doing
- 12:48since then. So once 2020 happened and I
- 12:51started listening to, I think it was great Love's Medium.
- 12:54He had like before stops like he had a medium account and I read
- 12:58something about Bitcoin. He was writing about time and
- 13:01the #0 and I was like, Oh, it's interesting how this is talk
- 13:06about money, but it's spoken from a very philosophical place.
- 13:11Like I remember like reading the article, printing it out and
- 13:14kind of like underline certain things and go like, I really
- 13:17want to find out how those these things really connect because I
- 13:21still did not understand Bitcoin.
- 13:23So then I sign up for a class that and I think that I
- 13:26manifested is like, because I do a lot of astrology.
- 13:28Somebody asked me one day, do you know anything about blah,
- 13:32blah, blah astrology? And I said, you know what, you
- 13:34should check this person, Mark Jones.
- 13:37He, he's the, he's an amazing evolutionary astrologer.
- 13:41And she said, oh, but I don't know what to look for.
- 13:43And so I googled it and I had the first link that I had was
- 13:47this podcast that I never heard of a guy called Adam Summer.
- 13:52So I sent a link for this thing that she wanted.
- 13:55She was studying astrology. And then I said, oh, let me
- 13:58listen to this guy. So this guy's interviewing my
- 14:00films. And I'm after think the first 10
- 14:04minutes they start talking about Bitcoin and I had been wishing I
- 14:08could find an astrologer that understands Bitcoin because if I
- 14:11can understand Bitcoin from a very like the harmonics and you
- 14:15know, the movements of the skies, I will probably connect
- 14:17to it. So I ended up like being in his
- 14:20pay 2 for a bit, but I knew immediately, I mean no offense,
- 14:23Adam, like I like you, but you're not my teacher because
- 14:25I've been having teachers and I know that I need to connect to
- 14:28people at the very energetic level.
- 14:31I was not connecting with him, but he mentioned his wife or
- 14:35partner was giving some Bitcoin classes for women.
- 14:39And I'm like, oh God, OK, yeah, let's do the woman thing.
- 14:41So I, I, I paid for the classes and it was fantastic.
- 14:44She's a great teacher named Nancy.
- 14:46She, she taught me from the very beginning, like it was a six,
- 14:50710 weeks. I don't remember.
- 14:52It was good because I will ask many questions and she will come
- 14:55with very good answers. And then I knew that I was
- 14:59entering the important part. And I think the most important
- 15:03part for me for Bitcoin is I'm going to understand this by
- 15:06something of value. Really.
- 15:08How so? After I I was in the group for a
- 15:11while, but I needed more community.
- 15:13So I decided to volunteer at the Miami conference here around the
- 15:18corner, and I'm going to do you something.
- 15:20I have never ever volunteer in my life for anything.
- 15:24I've been charging. Even when my mom asked me to do
- 15:26things for her, I said I'll do it, but you have to pay me.
- 15:28I've never in my life done anything for free.
- 15:31So I made a big deal that I was going to be volunteering.
- 15:35I remember going there and I say to everybody, this is the first
- 15:38time I volunteer. People look at me like, so I was
- 15:40like the big deals, but I wanted to volunteer to see Bitcoin as
- 15:47fly on the wall. And actually this is the biggest
- 15:50conference, but it's not necessarily the one I wanted to
- 15:55see. But it was like what I had
- 15:56available two blocks away from my house and it was not going to
- 15:59cost me any money to get in to see how is the community.
- 16:03I'm going to go and sniff everything, ask questions, push
- 16:07buttons, like be very, very curious.
- 16:09And that's what happened. I got there for five days.
- 16:13I, I met a lot of people, I asked a lot of questions.
- 16:16I approach every single person that I knew and I didn't know.
- 16:19And I was just very spontaneous, like talking, asking questions
- 16:22like, and it was beautiful because I saw and I felt that
- 16:26the community is very open that they're willing to teach,
- 16:30they're willing to talk. And it's just amazing.
- 16:32Never met any community like this before in my life because,
- 16:36you know, people are very snobbish in, in New York and
- 16:38stuff like that. So, so that's what I got.
- 16:41And so I got into volunteering. I did, I don't know, I think
- 16:45like four or five volunteers in within a year.
- 16:48And that started getting a web of people that now I call my
- 16:51friend because 1 led to the other, to the other, to the
- 16:55other. And at one point somebody said,
- 16:56you should give a talk. And I'm like, what am I going to
- 17:00talk about? And then it says, well, you can
- 17:01talk about how you synthesize Bitcoin with consciousness,
- 17:05astrology and all that. And I said, OK, so that's what
- 17:08I'm going to do. And that's what I've been doing
- 17:09since last year. Slowly.
- 17:13That's an insane Bitcoin discovery journey, and I mean
- 17:18that in the politest and most kindest way.
- 17:21Yeah, and I forgot to say one thing.
- 17:24This is very important in the whole thing.
- 17:25So when I did the conference, I run into into Saifudi animals.
- 17:30He was promoting his book The Principles of Economics.
- 17:36And I had just not just but like a year or something before I had
- 17:39seen him with like treatment. And I adore that podcast because
- 17:43there was something about FDA that he was so raw that I really
- 17:47like how frontal he's about things and how like he stays
- 17:51things as they are. And I love this kind of people
- 17:53like they just like they cut like a knife.
- 17:56And so I met him and I I found that he was a very genuine, kind
- 18:02of very kind man and mining all the time.
- 18:05So I asked him, Hey, you know, I'm buying the book.
- 18:09I want to join. I've been part of your
- 18:11membership, but I never joined to the higher, the higher tier
- 18:14to get to get you as my teacher. I only have one question.
- 18:18What is it? I said, are you as funny as you
- 18:20were with like treatment in class?
- 18:22And he started laughing and I said, OK, yeah, I'm going to
- 18:24join. So I joined his seminars and I'm
- 18:27still there. Every every week we have a
- 18:29seminar. And I basically got mentored by
- 18:35Typhidian on Austin Economics. And so Austin Economics became
- 18:38my first love. I, I cannot differentiate Austin
- 18:42economics from Bitcoin. They're just one of the same for
- 18:45me. This is, I think, true for most
- 18:50Bitcoiners who discovered Austrian economics after they
- 18:58discovered Bitcoin. The the notion of that that's
- 19:02actually like one of the coolest The the, the idea to volunteer
- 19:07at the conference, the Bitcoin conference as a kind of like a
- 19:12just a free pass to go check out the community and just see, you
- 19:16know, all right, cool. So like, there's something here,
- 19:20so let's find out. And man, that's clever.
- 19:26That's clever. And all you're doing this
- 19:29conference at the very beginning is like you offer, you say you
- 19:32want to be at the front and I said, no, I don't want to be on
- 19:34the front. I didn't want responsibility the
- 19:37first time. I say give me the lowest tier.
- 19:39So it's like you have to feel the bag.
- 19:42I thought I had so much fun doing little stuff.
- 19:45I didn't want to be in charge of anything because I'm usually
- 19:48called to be in charge of things.
- 19:50And I said no, no, no, no, no. I just want to be able to go
- 19:52around and talk to people. But that was great.
- 19:55That's. Clever so all throughout this,
- 19:59irrespective of whether or not you're seeking Bitcoin or
- 20:03Bitcoin seeking you. You're seeking the right teacher
- 20:09to relay this knowledge, this, this insight to you.
- 20:16And that's a yeah, that's like a really intentional way of being,
- 20:23I suppose. You're not just drawing from the
- 20:27text from the podcast, from the book.
- 20:30You're actually seeking out source, more or less.
- 20:35Yeah, And there's the people in between who bring the source are
- 20:39the educators, the people who have wisdom.
- 20:42And they have wisdom because they have had the experience of
- 20:46applying that knowledge in them. And then they're at the level
- 20:50that they can transmit that knowledge to others.
- 20:52So I always been, and you know, mind you, I am a daughter and
- 20:56granddaughter of pioneers, educators in Colombia.
- 21:00My mom and my grandmother had in the gardens and they were based
- 21:05on like very progressive ideologies from Germany.
- 21:10So it was Montessori, John Dewey with the other name Rudolf
- 21:13Steiner. And so I learned through play
- 21:17ludic exercises. My mom taught me to be always
- 21:22inquiring things. It's like I will ask her
- 21:24questions and she will answer me with another question or she
- 21:27will say, oh, your granny and my granny will tip me a little bit
- 21:31where to look, but she says no, you come back with the answer.
- 21:34So I all my life I've been supported to go deeper, deeper.
- 21:38I think my mom's and my dad, they kind of told me that I was
- 21:41very interested in like deep questions.
- 21:43So they allow me to get even deeper questions by giving me
- 21:48books or access to encyclopedias.
- 21:50Because back in the day was no Internet.
- 21:51So, you know, Google was the Encyclopedia Britannica or, you
- 21:55know, I was asking for, for presents like books and
- 21:59encyclopedias when I was 8 and nine years old.
- 22:01Mommy, can I get this? And it's like, but that's like
- 22:0420 volumes and I'm like, I'm going to read them in a year.
- 22:07That was always like thirsty for, for information.
- 22:11But I, there's a big difference between schooling.
- 22:14I actually did a talk at the my first Bitcoin, Bitcoin that is
- 22:17called the difference between schooling and indoctrination and
- 22:22education. Because in education you have a
- 22:25facilitator, you have a guide, you have a mentor that is going
- 22:29to support your inquiry. When you go to school, you're
- 22:32given information and you don't have the chance to question it.
- 22:37So I think that the reason why Bitcoin is such a great thing is
- 22:40because Bitcoin gives us the possibility to inquire deeper,
- 22:45not just about money, but about health, about wealth, about, you
- 22:49know, pharma, about education, about, I don't know, taxes.
- 22:54Common law, everything just being yeah, yeah, being.
- 22:58I feel like you just. About your life, plug in and
- 23:00it'll just you know it. I keep coming back to this line
- 23:06I heard on this podcast, a neutral amplifier of effect
- 23:11where it just sort of engaged with Bitcoin and then it will
- 23:16start to amplify, turn up the things that you're curious about
- 23:25or that you're interested in or that you need to confront,
- 23:28whatever it is. I don't know.
- 23:29Yeah, it's weird. Yeah.
- 23:31I say, for instance, that you descend inside of the rabbit
- 23:34hole and then you become your own sampler of your life.
- 23:37You become your researcher. You basically have to try and
- 23:41error and then you end up empirically understanding your
- 23:45life because you're testing and you are the experiment or your
- 23:49family is. So it's in a way you come out of
- 23:52that rabbit hole like a knowing person.
- 23:55You become white. Yeah, or a kook and a crazy
- 23:59person to everybody else that's not down that rabbit hole.
- 24:04Yes, yes. I'm curious to know.
- 24:06So you're going down this rabbit hole, you're seeking out these
- 24:09teachers, you're landing on some of the most influential and
- 24:15formative teachers, particularly like, I mean, you mentioned
- 24:18safer Dean, you've gone beyond his book.
- 24:21You wanted to go straight to source, actually have a
- 24:23conversation with him and then, you know, subscribe and become a
- 24:29a student. I almost said the word disciple,
- 24:32but I won't. Quick break just to say, if
- 24:35you're enjoying the show and digging what you hear, please
- 24:38consider supporting discovering Bitcoin by shooting, boosting,
- 24:41sending, or zapping the show. Some stats.
- 24:44If you're listening via podcasting 2 point O apps such
- 24:47as Fountain, Pod Verse, or Breeze, it's easier done than
- 24:51said. All you got to do is tap the
- 24:53boost button or set an amount of sats to stream per minute while
- 24:57you're listening. Alternatively, if you want to
- 25:00ZAP me direct via lightning address, please send zaps and
- 25:04sats or zaps of sats in support of the show to Discovering
- 25:09Bitcoin at primal.net. Thank you for listening and
- 25:13thank you for your support. When did you have that?
- 25:19Yeah, go ahead that sort of because you all the while you're
- 25:22synthesizing this notion of consciousness with Bitcoin.
- 25:29When are you having this aha moment?
- 25:33So it happens like so I go and you know, I did choose them as a
- 25:37teacher. I realized that it was not just
- 25:41luck, but it was like meant to be.
- 25:43I remember my first question in class.
- 25:45I mean, I was a little bit intimidated because I thought,
- 25:47Oh my God, they're gonna be all these geeks and all these
- 25:49economies. And I'm like this like very
- 25:51colorful artist. Yoohoo, you know, like I'm here
- 25:54and I, I'm unapologetic and I say or rageous stuff and you
- 25:58know, I'm, I speak about all kinds of stuff.
- 26:01And so, but I got in and he's saying something and obviously I
- 26:07don't understand what he's saying.
- 26:08And so I'm raising my hand and I said, I have a question.
- 26:11He goes, what? And I said, what is the
- 26:13difference? This is my first questioning
- 26:15class. I still remember it was
- 26:16beautiful. What is the difference between
- 26:19psychology and human action? Because I had read already the,
- 26:24the chapter of human action, you know, like you have to be
- 26:26responsible for your things and, and like everything that we do
- 26:30is based on our own accountability and stuff like
- 26:32that. But I've been all my life, I've
- 26:33been very psychological and I've done the whole studies of car
- 26:37young and, you know, shadow work and everything.
- 26:39So it's interesting because he came to me, he says, look, if
- 26:42you're really interested in this area, you should really read
- 26:46Misses and the whole praxeology and then Roth.
- 26:48So he kind of showed me where and I was like, oh, this is
- 26:51going to be cool. I'm going to be asking questions
- 26:53that maybe he doesn't know how to answer and it's not he's not
- 26:57interested. He's just interested in
- 26:58answering other things, but he's not shutting me down or off, you
- 27:01know, So that was amazing that I could get that case in his
- 27:06classroom and just be myself completely.
- 27:09That's why I keep on signing up for more because it's a place
- 27:12for me to to go deeper. So as I was going deeper into
- 27:16Austin economics and making a parallelism with the Jungian
- 27:21studies that I've done and basically with my own, like me
- 27:25as a, as a researcher, I realized that this Bitcoin was
- 27:30becoming a state of consciousness.
- 27:32It was, it was a state of awareness.
- 27:34Oh my God, this thing is synthesizing everything that I
- 27:37ever cared for, history, astrology, I don't know the
- 27:41stars because I also like just to gaze at the stars.
- 27:44Like every single subject that I was interested in, I could just
- 27:49put it in the context of Bitcoin and Bitcoin was going to give me
- 27:52the the way to integrate it in my life.
- 27:55So I started fully. It was like last year at the
- 27:58beginning of the year. It was the first time that I was
- 28:00given the chance to speak somewhere.
- 28:03And this is a funny thing. They invite me a Bitcoin day in
- 28:06Naples and they invited me to speak in a panel because they
- 28:09needed check this out. They needed a woman that is a
- 28:12boomer. And I was laughing.
- 28:15I said how dare you guys, you're Sophie as like you invite me
- 28:19because you want me to have you know, you want me to be.
- 28:22It's like a. Shitty thing.
- 28:24Yeah. And I said, you know what, I
- 28:26don't care. Technically I am a boomer, but I
- 28:29am not because I don't behave like 1.
- 28:31So that that's going to cover that.
- 28:34And then 20. I ain't a woman.
- 28:36Yeah, whatever. But I said to the organizer,
- 28:38because we had a poll, I said, I will go, but I'm going to be
- 28:41myself, like 100%. Then he's like, what does that
- 28:45mean? I'm like, you know, there's all
- 28:46kinds of stuff that I can talk about, But I, I've been talking
- 28:50for a long time with my artwork, so I can be very inspirational
- 28:53and I can be funny, too. So he said, OK, so I was in a
- 28:56panel. It was great with Lawrence
- 28:58Lippard, Grant Cardone, You know, it was Gary Cardone and
- 29:02Bob the Minor. What's his name?
- 29:06Burnett. Yeah.
- 29:07Kindest people in the world, all boomers.
- 29:11And there I was talking about Clue doing Aquarius and you know
- 29:15who making jokes, telling stories.
- 29:18So by the end of it, people came and said, wow, like who are you?
- 29:22And I said I'm Monica. And I thought this can go really
- 29:25well for me if I always say to my truth, if I do not try to
- 29:30pretend that I am a financier, I'm not.
- 29:33I don't try to pretend that I'm a coder, I'm not.
- 29:35So I just bring me to Bitcoin and if Bitcoin embraces me, I'm
- 29:40good. And so I felt that that was a
- 29:42very good entry. And so then I think I was
- 29:45invited again by, I don't know if you know Paul Tarantino, he
- 29:48has this as well with Cedric Jungermann.
- 29:53I think I forgot Bite Federal. So he invited me to to be in a
- 29:57panel with Brie Love and I don't remember who else.
- 30:00It was somebody younger from the Tampa Bay.
- 30:03And we were talking about Bitcoin.
- 30:06And we didn't use the word consciousness more like
- 30:09spirituality. And I kind of want to stay away
- 30:12from the word spirituality because there's it has done so
- 30:15much harm because we're all incarnated spirit.
- 30:19You cannot say you're spiritual. Everybody's spiritual.
- 30:22Everybody has a spirit now you're not tuned to it.
- 30:24Something else, but you cannot be in flesh and not have a
- 30:28spirit. So I prefer the word
- 30:30consciousness because conscious is more like the awareness that
- 30:33we have that there's something beyond the matter, right.
- 30:36And so I think it was in that call or in that panel by the
- 30:42questions and everything that I kind of knew beforehand we were
- 30:45going to talk that I started thinking and started saying
- 30:47almost it came through like Bitcoin is a state of conscious.
- 30:52So people are like, what do you mean by that?
- 30:53And so I had to kind of like, oh, I have to write about it
- 30:56because it just comes through me.
- 30:58So that was the, I was the beginning of 2024 that I started
- 31:02saying that and it became clear as I was writing the book, I had
- 31:06already started writing my book, the nature of my reality and my
- 31:09I was not planning to talk about Bitcoin because I was writing
- 31:12about my process. And I'm starting to write Austin
- 31:16economics, a little bit of Bitcoin like I, I got, I got
- 31:20hijacked by Bitcoin. It's like he came in and and
- 31:24Bitcoin looked at me and goes, what?
- 31:25You're not gonna write about me? I'm the synthesize, I'm the
- 31:28synthesis. And I'm like, yeah, you're
- 31:29right, you're right. So I did that book.
- 31:32I'm halfway through the 2nd right now.
- 31:34I'm writing another book. It's called the art of synthesis
- 31:38and the architecture of my value because it ends up being that
- 31:42what I realized that I'm good at in my life, you know, are being
- 31:47like an amazing artist and all that.
- 31:48And you know, I'm not going to be hard to say humble about it
- 31:52because I do get a lot of work in public art spaces because I'm
- 31:58very intentional with it. I, I want to say that with the
- 32:04book and the writing and and me putting myself out there, I have
- 32:09a way to kind of remind people that consciousness is inside of
- 32:13each one of us. Like I want I want to serve as a
- 32:15mirror basic by being myself. I, I mean, Luke 1721, that's
- 32:26that's the thing that keeps propping up.
- 32:28It keeps coming up into my consciousness, keeps keeps
- 32:31seeing it everywhere. Kingdom of God is within you,
- 32:36right? Spirituality, consciousness,
- 32:39whatever you want to call it. I don't know, I can use those
- 32:44words interchangeably and let other people do their karma and
- 32:48squirm as I say those words. I don't really care.
- 32:51I'm just trying to figure out where like there's just a lot it
- 32:59just it seems like you've you've kind of hit on this thing that a
- 33:06few others, like I'm seeing it around the place.
- 33:09It's almost like, you know, energy flows where attention
- 33:13goes. And the more you put your
- 33:15attention into these things, the more energy is directed to them,
- 33:19and then the more you kind of harmonize or receive back from.
- 33:24Yeah. And it's kind of like, you know,
- 33:27you buy a new car or something, or, you know, you might buy a
- 33:30yellow car or whatever you're driving around.
- 33:32All of a sudden you just see yellow cars everywhere.
- 33:34Everything, yeah. What's going on?
- 33:36Because it that's that's resonance in a way.
- 33:39And one of the things that I did in the last talk Bitcoin state
- 33:42of consciousness, I was because I did a talk a year ago at
- 33:45adopting Bitcoin where I wanted to bring a little bit the
- 33:48astrology and I am a very ambitious person.
- 33:50So I did a talk that it was great, but a lot of people, not
- 33:54all of all of them understood it because I was speaking to a
- 33:57public that I need to bring things down a little bit and
- 34:01make them a little bit more logical.
- 34:03So I thought this year, OK, I'm going to talk about these
- 34:05things. Then I'm going to bring the
- 34:06logic of practiology of Austin economics to the realm of
- 34:11consciousness and see if I can explain consciousness from a
- 34:15very Austrian economics point of view, which is what I did in
- 34:19this talk of Bitcoin is the state of consciousness.
- 34:21Because I started late, I did 3 layers.
- 34:25I did the base layer, which is consciousness.
- 34:27The second one is human action is like your choice, you know,
- 34:30free will, whatever. And the third one is the logos
- 34:32is your singularity. So at the very end, this talk is
- 34:36showing you how energy, and we're all energy, we're
- 34:39vibrating. And then when we vibrate, we
- 34:42make choices that make us align and tune ourselves to who we
- 34:46are. Now, there's a lot of parts in
- 34:49our stuff that are automatic. Like our nervous system is
- 34:53something that we need to learn to regulate.
- 34:55And like, I hold a very, very small meditation group for bit
- 34:59pointers on on Monday. And we're doing the, I don't
- 35:03know if you know, the tapes, the Bob Monroe tape, you know,
- 35:06Getaway, anything Getaway. Yeah.
- 35:09Because yeah, he's doing this with the Red Tail Hawk.
- 35:14Excuse me? Are you doing this with the red
- 35:15tail? Terrible.
- 35:17No, no, I'm doing, we just met in Vegas with some Bitcoiners
- 35:22when we were at the conference. And you know, we had, there had
- 35:26been a group that they had been open on medication and I have
- 35:29all the tape. So I was like, why don't we do
- 35:32this? And so we just get together on
- 35:34Mondays and we are following. So the beautiful thing about
- 35:36this thief is like they teach. I mean, they show you a way to
- 35:40get inside of yourself through sound, but I do a lot of humming
- 35:45and I do a lot of restaurants. I've been working with sound and
- 35:48my boys for like 5 years now. So this is a way that the more I
- 35:53work with that, the more I get in tune to what is like.
- 35:57I don't, I'm not looking for things.
- 35:59Things come to me because I mean in tune with my own frequency
- 36:03and, and that also has a lot to do with my breath.
- 36:06So breath work and but it's all interiors.
- 36:09Like I don't need to go to a retreat or to go to a class to
- 36:12get in tune. I found it.
- 36:15Our bodies are, you know, actually the subtitle of my
- 36:18first book is Everything I need to see my body because I can't
- 36:21rely on myself to go and get in touch with my consciousness.
- 36:25It is up to me. So in this talk, I was talking
- 36:29about energy and I was talking about also like the the parts of
- 36:33ourselves that are automatic that we need to regulate.
- 36:36I don't know if you know anything about the polyvagal
- 36:38nerve. It's like if you, if you are
- 36:40living in light of fight and you're always your nervous
- 36:44system and you're in fear, well, you're not going to be able to
- 36:47to live a healthy life because you're going to impair your
- 36:51system. So I think that, you know, being
- 36:54connected to consciousness is not just about, again, like
- 36:58humming and things like, you know, doing psychedelics is
- 37:01really understanding that you have to put your life in a
- 37:05balance, whatever that means. You know, your sleep, your,
- 37:10your, your, I don't know your health.
- 37:12Like your body, your body has age, right.
- 37:14I am 62, but I still behave like I was 15.
- 37:19And that makes me look for some reason younger because I'm not
- 37:23really so serious about like other people in my in my age
- 37:27range are always thinking about retirement.
- 37:29And when you tell me retirement, I go like, what?
- 37:32Yeah. How did you retire from life?
- 37:34That's like giving up. Yeah.
- 37:35Like, I'm not going to retire. Yeah.
- 37:37And I'm going to drop that. And you pick me up and you take
- 37:40me to the to the next station, you know?
- 37:42But that's it. But it's interesting because
- 37:45we're giving so much power away to ideas that are outside of
- 37:50ourselves. But if we reconnect to our
- 37:52energy, it's our energy. Many different ways.
- 37:56You can do Chico. You can do champion.
- 37:57You can do. I mean, you can do too many
- 37:59things, but you choose what is right for you.
- 38:01You. Gotta want it.
- 38:02You gotta want it too. Like that's the thing.
- 38:05You can't just you that all these things are available.
- 38:08They're all out there. You just got to turn towards
- 38:11them and actually do them. People that retire and just like
- 38:13fuck off and do nothing for the day and then just tell me how
- 38:16busy they are. I'm like, what?
- 38:21You didn't do anything. You didn't even have a hobby.
- 38:23Like what are you talking about? Like pick up a book at least.
- 38:29Anyway, yeah, it's just a personal crap.
- 38:31Sorry. Yeah.
- 38:34No, but it's true. It's true.
- 38:35So for me, it's like there's never enough hours in the day
- 38:38for me to get into another rabbit hole and then and get
- 38:41inspired. So I have this thing that I, I
- 38:45feel the need to get into it, but my need of expressing it out
- 38:50is as important as getting it in.
- 38:52Otherwise I die inside. So that's why I started writing
- 38:56A blog and I write, I don't know if you've seen it a little bit.
- 38:58I started reading financial charts like 2 years ago and
- 39:03guess why I want to do that? Not because I care about the
- 39:05price really because I don't trade.
- 39:06I, I buy the dip and I buy, you know, I, I, I get paid in
- 39:10Bitcoin. I get this is already there set
- 39:12up right? But I do it because I'm I'm
- 39:15regulating my nervous system and believe it or not, reading
- 39:19charts regulates my nervous. That that's a whole new angle on
- 39:26tea leaves for chat boys. But OK, I will ask you obvious
- 39:32question. And how does it reading a chart
- 39:34regulate your nervous system? But you see like we're all we're
- 39:40energy and energy is measured in frequency and wavelength.
- 39:44So when you look at a financial charge, you're looking at
- 39:47wavelength, you see the price up, you see the price down.
- 39:49And then you can start reading this and like how frequent these
- 39:53wavelengths are moving, you know, from one peak to the
- 39:55other. I mean, in, in financial charge,
- 39:57you say where is the support and where is the resistance?
- 39:59I mean, if you want to use like more financial vocabulary, but
- 40:03what you're looking for is something very important that
- 40:06actually I, I heard this said in the class of FED and it's
- 40:10equilibrium is a process. The day he said that, my brain
- 40:15exploded because I can apply anything about life with that
- 40:19phrase. Equilibrium is the process, and
- 40:22we are not static, we are moving.
- 40:25Energy always moves. So the whole problem in life is
- 40:28that we want to be happy once we buy a house and then we think,
- 40:31oh, I have the house and now what?
- 40:33Well, the wave keeps moving. You can't just be static and the
- 40:38people saying, oh, I wouldn't be going to go 200,000, but what
- 40:41are you talking about? It's going to go up, it's going
- 40:43to go down. Life is volatile.
- 40:46So when, when he said that a while ago, I was like meditating
- 40:50on it and I saw myself in like riding the wave because it's a
- 40:53wave. And when I learned, I learned a
- 40:56technique is called Ichimoku is is based on averages.
- 41:00And it's beautiful because astrologists are also looking at
- 41:03patterns of cycles that repeat themselves.
- 41:06So I'm always looking at patterns and what is beautiful
- 41:09is like one of the, and maybe you know, if you ever read a
- 41:12chart and you know what is like the, the 50% of the Fibonacci is
- 41:15always going to tell you the gravity point.
- 41:18So we're always trying to look for a balance in life and the
- 41:22balance is never static. And this is also applied for
- 41:26ourselves. We want to have a little bit of
- 41:27a life that is in balance because when it isn't, then it's
- 41:30either too good or too chaotic. So markets reflect the sentiment
- 41:36of the collective and when people pick out because the
- 41:40price is, you know, a couple weeks they went down, you just
- 41:42go, oh, price is trying to, you know, find a correction.
- 41:47When your life is going too up or too down, you look back to
- 41:50yourself, you go, maybe I'm drinking too much or maybe I'm
- 41:53not paying attention to how many hours I sleep and say, you can
- 41:56correct that. So that's why I think it, it
- 41:59helps. And so the last year I've been
- 42:01working a lot of my nervous system because I, I've been
- 42:04doing a lot of work with Mark Jones.
- 42:07This guy was telling you about astrologer and I hired him to,
- 42:11to, to see me once a month. And we're going very deep in
- 42:15certain things that I thought that I, I didn't think that they
- 42:18were sold, but I, I wanted to go deeper.
- 42:21And I lost my father when I was very young and, and, and I think
- 42:27I never really treated that kind of trauma, you want to call it
- 42:30or whatever. And now I'm ready.
- 42:31And so I've been doing a lot of work of being very quiet with
- 42:36people. I don't really talk to people a
- 42:38lot this year. I don't call friends.
- 42:40I'm not, I'm not there for them. I, I just say this year is for
- 42:43me, but I've been finding so many little places where
- 42:47especially how growing up, I love my mom.
- 42:51She passed two years ago, but how her nervous system, she was
- 42:55a very nervous person. She was a very funny and very
- 42:57angry person at the same time. So my day started with me trying
- 43:02to figure out if she was funny or angry.
- 43:06So my whole life, my, my way of like, responding to the world is
- 43:11like, am I safe or she's gonna start yelling?
- 43:15Yeah. And so I became a clown like
- 43:19automatically because I learned that if I go and clown, I'm
- 43:23gonna be safe at least for a bit until I find the next exit.
- 43:28I was always clowning, clowning clown and then getting into
- 43:31trouble. But for me, getting into trouble
- 43:33with clowning was it was a safe place.
- 43:36So I've been rewiring my nervous system this year because I
- 43:40realized that basically I can do it right now because I recognize
- 43:44where the problem was starting to be from, like waking up and
- 43:49having that. So I had to rewire myself and
- 43:51say I'm in a safe place. I'm no longer in this like
- 43:54moment of pride. Like I'm afraid that she's going
- 43:57to scream or I'm very happy she's laughing at my joke.
- 44:01So that's what I'm doing this year.
- 44:02And it's been very profound. Very, very profound.
- 44:07How has discovering Bitcoin changed you?
- 44:12Everything did the 180 in my life.
- 44:14This is my life before and after.
- 44:18So I would say what became very evident and very important, and
- 44:22that's why the second part of my book is called The Architecture
- 44:25of My Value. I realized that I didn't know
- 44:28how to value my knee properly and that I was always tending to
- 44:33body somebody else's needs first because I'm, I tend to be a very
- 44:36caring person. But that was in my own
- 44:39detriment. So what happened was he gave me
- 44:41the power to stand on my 2 feet and say no, you've got to take
- 44:45care of your knees. And if you don't know what your
- 44:47needs are, you have to find out what they are.
- 44:50So I did find out what my needs were.
- 44:52And then once you find your needs, you can give value to
- 44:56those. And once you give value to your
- 44:58needs, then you have a lot of meaning in your life.
- 45:00So that's what happened. That's why I call it a
- 45:03synthesizer because he brought me and gave me everything that I
- 45:06was working on that it was not connected.
- 45:09So people is like this, I don't know, like you know, those key
- 45:13holders that have 1000 keys and and you have the ring.
- 45:17Bitcoin is that ring that you can hold a lot of stuff and it's
- 45:20stairs in the middle without it everything goes.
- 45:23So yeah. And for me it's the base.
- 45:27It's so wild to me that a a neutral protocol, you know,
- 45:33this, this Bitcoin thing, which is it?
- 45:35It's just, it's peer-to-peer electronic cash, right?
- 45:39That's what it is and yet people interact with it, engage with it
- 45:47and it it just materializes, I suppose, from a metaphysical
- 45:56realm. This like a whole myriad of
- 45:59different states, ways of being, etcetera.
- 46:04It's wild. I say Bitcoin meets you where
- 46:07you're at. So if you're a person that wants
- 46:11to go deep, like hello, I'm scuba diving all the time.
- 46:14Not literally like just with every subject, I just want to go
- 46:18all the way. I'm all in.
- 46:20So it, it serves that purpose because it allows me to and
- 46:24because I can rationalize it again, I can come back and just
- 46:27bring it back to Austin economics and Bitcoin.
- 46:29And I go, I can give talks about any subject and always have
- 46:33Bitcoin and Austin economics as the base and I'll do very well
- 46:36because this is so logical. Yeah.
- 46:40And it's very beautiful. Like, yeah, Austrian economics
- 46:44is a superpower. If you, if you, if you can grok
- 46:47Austrian economics, whether or not you can, I mean, if you can
- 46:51combine that then with understanding or at least you
- 46:55know, trying to understand Bitcoin, that is like that is
- 46:58like next level. You think of, like, someone like
- 47:00Peter Schiff, who understands Austrian economics very well.
- 47:04Yeah. And, you know, whether or not
- 47:06he's, you know, acting and laughing about being a gold bug
- 47:12and has a stack of corn stashed away somewhere, fine, whatever.
- 47:16Take care. But there are other gold bugs
- 47:19like that who have an innate understanding of Austrian
- 47:23economics, have done the research, and yet can't bridge
- 47:26that gap between it. And I think you have to be a
- 47:29little bit adventurous because they all it don't happen even
- 47:32separated and tells the story that when he started, it was a
- 47:34gold bug and it just couldn't be that true, right.
- 47:37And it took him a while to put it together.
- 47:39And and it's when you start actually practicing it in the
- 47:43real sense of the war like you start doing.
- 47:46And I told this may time Stephanie.
- 47:47And the thing that really changed me was low time
- 47:49preference. It was like, Oh my God, I lived
- 47:53everything upside down because New York is high time
- 47:56preference. You buy posts all the time.
- 47:59You have to go networking, you have to go to the next opening,
- 48:02you have to meet the next person.
- 48:04Everything is a transaction between what would possibly be
- 48:08and it's going to give me an opportunity for me to grow, to
- 48:10sell a piece of art or to meet the next whatever.
- 48:15And everything that I'm investing in, in practice,
- 48:17because you're not really investing, you're just wasting
- 48:19your money. It's it's in food, it's in, in
- 48:22bars in like you're not really putting money in a place.
- 48:26You're even creating work. I used to put so much money into
- 48:29my artwork. And then and then having, you
- 48:32know, to ask the galleries, like, have you sold this?
- 48:35Because I like, I put all my money there.
- 48:37And then I realized, Oh my God, I've been doing everything so
- 48:40wrong because it's under the pretense that everything is
- 48:43fine. And that for me changed me when
- 48:46I understood what low term preference, but it was like, oh,
- 48:49I can actually live a longer life.
- 48:52There's always a thought that you move from the one thing to
- 48:56the next thing, and I would imagine in a place like New
- 48:58York, I never lived there. But the energy is so high, which
- 49:05can be exciting, but it's difficult for an individual to
- 49:09sustain that. And if you're in that world as
- 49:12well as as you're talking the art, the art world and you're
- 49:15going and you're networking and you're going to galleries and
- 49:18you're, you're on to the next thing.
- 49:20You never take a moment to acknowledge what you've just
- 49:24achieved then and there, like you've got your, you know, work
- 49:29being hung in a in an amazing place.
- 49:31It's beautifully presented as people genuinely enjoying and
- 49:36finding pleasure in what it is. And you're thinking, great, done
- 49:40that, next thing, now what? Where's the next thing?
- 49:42Or got to go to the next party or the next networking event so
- 49:46that I can maintain this energy And there is a very, very little
- 49:50space for stillness. 100% And it was interesting because when I
- 49:55got there in 94, New York was like, yeah, at the bottom of
- 50:00like, you know, the recession, everything.
- 50:02It was like New York was not. It was fun because it was
- 50:04dangerous. So I was living in the Lower
- 50:07East Side and you could hear bang, bangs.
- 50:09And one day I said, what is that?
- 50:10It's like people are shooting. I'm like, what is that?
- 50:11The sound of a gun? I had no idea.
- 50:14But you felt like, OK, this is wild.
- 50:17And so it was wild in many ways. And the art market was very
- 50:20different. You did find like the
- 50:23possibility of finding galleries that wanted to represent you.
- 50:26And so you had more or less 2 years to three years to prepare
- 50:29a body of work and then they will support you and then you
- 50:33will travel around the world with this if you have another
- 50:35gallery. So you did have like a long time
- 50:38to create something, to digest it and to give it to the world
- 50:43and then come back and say maybe I'm going to work on something
- 50:46else. But then 2001 happened and all
- 50:49this art fair started to like, I don't know, pop up here and
- 50:54there. And then the galleries, in order
- 50:55to adapt to the new market, they started doing fairs like like
- 50:58conferences right now this week here, this week.
- 51:02And that's I think when everything exploded.
- 51:04That was, it picked up at the end of the 2000 and then it
- 51:08became this horrendous place where to be.
- 51:10We're still like that. I mean, last week here until 2
- 51:13days ago was Miami, our Basel, which is like it represents
- 51:16exactly the worst of everything because you're not really seeing
- 51:19quality of anything. We're just seeing a persona,
- 51:23something that you're playing because you need to get to the
- 51:26next part of the video game. And so you become, I don't know,
- 51:30a poster you also fake because you are part of a game that you
- 51:35don't even know how, but which extent you're being used by by
- 51:39the deep state and stuff like that.
- 51:41So for me leaving New York, I liberate my stuff from that as I
- 51:45became a non vaxer of people and, and, and I started voicing
- 51:50like I was harsh on social media, you know, going like this
- 51:54fuckers, blah, blah, blah, blah. So the few friends that they
- 51:59still wanted to talk to me, they stopped talking to me.
- 52:02And then that's when I realized it was a hard thing to accept
- 52:05that New York is so transactional that I have to
- 52:08admit I never really had good friends.
- 52:10I don't think I ever had friends in New York after 27 years.
- 52:14It's such a fucked feeling that that is, is such a horrible
- 52:18feeling. I've, I've, I've felt that, I've
- 52:20felt that I used to have a career like that.
- 52:21And not that I ever wanted to be chums or pals or like best
- 52:25buddies with these people, but you did get a sense that there
- 52:29was a nice mutual value exchange going on.
- 52:34Yeah, that you care for one another.
- 52:36I only have one crazy friend. I, I was just in New York 2
- 52:39weeks ago after El Salvador and I hate it every minute because
- 52:45I, I haven't really been going that much.
- 52:47When I go, I go for a day, then I come back and this time we
- 52:51were going to be a bunch of people.
- 52:53And so we went five days, not all together, but there was,
- 52:56there was a lot of bitcoiners going there because Natalie
- 52:58Brunel was launching her book. So it was like I would go and I
- 53:02just hated it. I was like, what is this thing?
- 53:04And I got sick. I'm like, because I remind
- 53:08myself how much I hated this place and everything that it
- 53:11represents. It was like, thank God I'm not
- 53:14here anymore. And I don't want to be here or
- 53:17near to anything that represents this bacon.
- 53:19And so I did see this friend that I've seen twice when I go
- 53:23there. She's the most socialist person
- 53:25I've ever met in my life. But she's she loves me for who I
- 53:28am and I love her for who she's. And she always asked me
- 53:31questions like what happened to you?
- 53:33When did you become such a because I was never political.
- 53:38I never went to a protest. Like I never volunteer.
- 53:41I never care. I was doing my thing.
- 53:43And when I started, you know, thinking that this government
- 53:48was going to be keep on, you know, being with this Kamala,
- 53:51whatever, I thought this I have to vote for the first time in my
- 53:54life. So I voted for the first time in
- 53:55my life and I wanted at least to have four more years.
- 53:58We're not going to be persecuted, you know, like Choke
- 54:01.20, like at least we're going to have four more years to
- 54:04figure out how so is this going to happen?
- 54:06And so I started voicing a lot myself in regards to politics
- 54:11and stuff and more Bitcoin and more Austrian economics and
- 54:14stuff. And so she called me one day,
- 54:16like, I don't know, one year ago.
- 54:18And she said, she said she was very curious to know if I have
- 54:22always been like this and I was coming out of the closet or what
- 54:26did she miss about me? And I said, to be honest, I
- 54:29never cared about politics. I never cared about socialism.
- 54:32I couldn't give a shit. And I said, just go back and
- 54:35think, how many protests did I go with you?
- 54:39Never. And I said, so I always been
- 54:41like this, only that right now I'm speaking out loud because
- 54:45now is the time to say no more because the money is broken.
- 54:48And so it was it was interesting because we still can see each
- 54:51other. We disagree 180 but we decided
- 54:55that we both love each other so much as a great artist that
- 54:58we're it's not that we don't talk about politics.
- 55:00It's like, I love you period. There's no there's no me trying
- 55:04to push you away or her this thing.
- 55:06But she's the only person that kind of came and said I accept
- 55:10you. Crazy as you are, I accept you.
- 55:13And I said thank you because I don't think I have any other
- 55:15person in New York that has accepted the person that I am.
- 55:20That's pretty cool. I mean, from ideology aside,
- 55:24that's that's where you've transcended ideology and you've
- 55:27just gone, yeah, to the human being within or the soul within
- 55:31or whatever, whatever you want to frame it as.
- 55:33It's that's she sounds like a really cool person unless she
- 55:38gets her hands on the money printer.
- 55:41She doesn't understand she, I mean, he has a great stories
- 55:45because her father was the last minister of in Chile in 73.
- 55:50They had to flee the country from Allende like when there was
- 55:54a coup. So she was born in exile in the
- 55:57Vatican, and then she was brought back to Chile in the
- 56:0180s. And her father and her family.
- 56:04I've always been in the government, socialist
- 56:05government. But then she is living in New
- 56:07York for 20 years and she loves to cheat the thing and she knows
- 56:13that she cheats on a lot of stuff.
- 56:14And I was going, hey, like, are you cheating?
- 56:17Here she goes, who cares? Nobody knows.
- 56:18And I so they have this mentality that they can go to
- 56:21places like New York and cheat everything and get away.
- 56:25So I decided a long time ago, like I don't want to talk to her
- 56:28about that because she's good friend in many other ways and I
- 56:31have a blast with her. Like I, I don't think I laughed
- 56:34so much with somebody. Like I laughed with her because
- 56:36she has this light way of seeing things.
- 56:39Like she brings a lot of joy in my life.
- 56:42So I decided I'm like, she's exactly exactly what I would
- 56:47despise. But because our friendship is so
- 56:49long, I just love her. I can't kill her character.
- 56:54I don't want to change her character and if she accepts me
- 56:57the way I am, that's cool. There you are.
- 57:02What do you wish more people knew about Bitcoin?
- 57:07You know, I do teach about Bitcoin and I do my first big
- 57:12point. I always tell people if they
- 57:14have 12 hours to invest in themselves, I can show them a
- 57:20way so they can get in touch with.
- 57:24Put freedom in the way that you become more responsible of the
- 57:27person you came here to be. So it's all about, I would say,
- 57:31accountability and honoring that part of oneself that can really
- 57:36grow once we accept and surrender to what is, to the
- 57:40truth. So I, I, I feel like if people
- 57:44will give themselves the opportunity to dive in for
- 57:48whatever reason, whether it's money or savings or whatever, it
- 57:53doesn't matter, They will find an incredible mirror in Bitcoin
- 57:58for their own journey. I see it as a very big
- 58:01potential. And that's why when I write or
- 58:04I, I speak about it, I'm, I'm speaking from many different
- 58:07angles. So people understand that
- 58:08there's so many angles of Bitcoin.
- 58:09It's not just one thing. That's the thing, there's so
- 58:13many different angles and it's a matter of finding what that
- 58:17angle is. And for you, yeah, for the.
- 58:21Person. For the person, for you in
- 58:23particular, but then if you want to go and Charlie Day it and
- 58:28put, you know, lines all across the the wall with, with pins and
- 58:34stuff, you're going to freak a lot of people out.
- 58:36Whereas if you can take the time and allow for space to emerge
- 58:45between the conversation to figure out, OK, like how is
- 58:48this, how, how could, how might Bitcoin apply to the way that
- 58:55they view the world? And you know, I've got a buddy
- 58:58who's an incredibly enthusiastic orange pillar and we'll just try
- 59:03and orange pillar everyone. And he's very good at it.
- 59:07Me, not so much. I I've only had good success
- 59:11with people that have achieved resonance or coherence with, you
- 59:15know, from. Yeah.
- 59:16Yeah, that kind of alignment, I guess.
- 59:21Yeah, it's it's an interesting but but it does apply to
- 59:24everything. And I guess the trick is to not
- 59:27be impatient once you've discovered it.
- 59:30Once you've orange pulled a few people, you've cultivated a
- 59:34little tribe. And, and you see the hope in the
- 59:37world because it gives you hope. It's really very hopeful in a
- 59:40way that, you know, you see the world right now.
- 59:42And I don't know if you know anything about time cycles, but
- 59:44we're about to close the very big cycle in February 2026 when
- 59:492 planets they meet every 36 years are going to start at 0°
- 59:52of the Zodiac, 0° of areas. The last time they met it was
- 59:57November 9th of 1989. That was the fall of the Berlin
- 1:00:01Wall. And the time before that was
- 1:00:04when Mao came into power, and then the time before that was
- 1:00:07the Bolshevik revolution and so on.
- 1:00:08You can go back in history and there's one of these planets,
- 1:00:13Neptune, it's going to finish at 165 year old.
- 1:00:17So the cycle and the last time it was here was during the
- 1:00:21Revolutionary War, you know, the Civil War here in, in America.
- 1:00:25So we're, we're really closing a very big cycle.
- 1:00:28And what I feel that is happening is like we have the
- 1:00:30potential of like a reset, but not the reset that the, you
- 1:00:34know, the WEF wants from us is the reset that you are a free
- 1:00:40person as long as you want to make yourself free.
- 1:00:42The freedom doesn't depend on the government.
- 1:00:45The freedom depends on you complying or not, on saying, I
- 1:00:49don't want this. Like one of the things that I
- 1:00:51also studied studying after I did bickering all this and also
- 1:00:54an economic, this common law study, the constitution study
- 1:00:58about not the legal but the lawful.
- 1:01:01And then you see, Oh my God, we've been compliant to so many
- 1:01:04things. And then you see language, which
- 1:01:07is grammar. You see it and you see the
- 1:01:09syntax and you see, oh, we just don't understand what these
- 1:01:12people are saying because we're not paying attention.
- 1:01:16But if we were to pay attention on how things and words are put
- 1:01:18together and how these words can take away your freedom, oh,
- 1:01:23please learn that language. You got to want to.
- 1:01:27You got to. Find.
- 1:01:28Yeah, you've got to, you've got, you've got to want to like
- 1:01:30that's a, that's a, a lot of people are going to, aren't
- 1:01:34going to. This is why you can literally
- 1:01:38cast spells with language. 100% that's why spending is because
- 1:01:44you use it. And the interesting thing that
- 1:01:45I've been researching is like people from the Commonwealth and
- 1:01:51you know, we're coming from, from, from the UK and everything
- 1:01:54like United States, Australia, Canada and all the islands and
- 1:01:58everything in the UK we're following something that it was
- 1:02:03called common law, that it was coming from the Magna Carta.
- 1:02:06So there's a lot of language there that if you learn it, you
- 1:02:10will be able to stand for your rights if you know how to speak
- 1:02:14that language. You can be in front of a judge
- 1:02:17or in front of a authority, you say blah, blah, blah, blah, but
- 1:02:20you have to do it nobody. You don't bring a lawyer.
- 1:02:23You are doing it yourself. Now I've been reading a lot
- 1:02:26about what happens in Europe, and Europe is a little bit more
- 1:02:30screwed up because they are following Roman law, civic law,
- 1:02:34and they it's impossible to do that.
- 1:02:37So right now what they're doing in Europe is a little bit more
- 1:02:39challenging to challenge the government.
- 1:02:41That's why they're going so fast after everybody.
- 1:02:45It's just pulling the rod. And what I'm amazed is like why
- 1:02:48England, Australia and Canada are allowing the rock to be
- 1:02:52pulled when everything is in the language.
- 1:02:57Yeah, because the foot is on all the cricket, as it were, and the
- 1:03:02there's there's other things to direct your attention.
- 1:03:07Energy goes or attention flows or vice versa.
- 1:03:11Yeah, it's, it's, these are rabbit holes and that we, we
- 1:03:16need people to go down into the depths of this stuff, bring it
- 1:03:19back up and translate it, articulate it in a, in a manner
- 1:03:23that is digestible for the next person who can then.
- 1:03:28Yeah, I'm doing it. I'm studying.
- 1:03:30I don't speak too openly. Like, I mean, to a certain
- 1:03:33degree, I speak in tongues, but it is something that everybody
- 1:03:37can do. It is available.
- 1:03:40It's not that big of a deal. It's just learning another
- 1:03:43language. It's like I'm going to learn
- 1:03:45French, I'm going to learn Russian.
- 1:03:46I'm going to learn common law is I'm going to learn Bitcoin.
- 1:03:50You learn the code, you learn what it is.
- 1:03:53Imagine the first time you've heard about it and now you can
- 1:03:55teach it and you can talk about, you know, the networking, you
- 1:03:58can talk about, you know, the whatever you want to talk about.
- 1:04:00The same thing with common law, but it's it requires like a lot
- 1:04:05of courage from the people. And I'm amazed that a lot of
- 1:04:08Bitcoiners are not doing it because there is all these taxes
- 1:04:11loopholes. So people prefer to go into the
- 1:04:13loophole than to do the real thing.
- 1:04:15And I think that bottom line, in a long term, this is diminishing
- 1:04:20the capacity for people to really believe that they can be
- 1:04:23free because at the very end, we're dead plate period, and
- 1:04:28we're Dead Space because we allow that to happen.
- 1:04:30And everything was just pool. It was pool to us.
- 1:04:33So for me, it's fine to decipher what is real, real, real and
- 1:04:36where can I actually step into the platform and be courageous
- 1:04:41about it. Not foolish, but courageous.
- 1:04:45What does Bitcoin mean to you? I'm thinking about it and
- 1:04:52feeling it and it's just a big smiley.
- 1:04:54It's like it means there's not a single day in my life now for
- 1:05:00the last five years that I have not thought or said or done
- 1:05:05something without Bitcoin. Bitcoin is my life.
- 1:05:07It's like breathing. It's everything.
- 1:05:10It's everything because it's giving me the possibility to
- 1:05:13value myself, to value my needs, to give me language in other
- 1:05:18levels. It gave me logic.
- 1:05:20I was very logical person. I'm very emotional.
- 1:05:23So I used to scream and say I don't want to be logical.
- 1:05:25And now it's like God make me more logical so I can actually
- 1:05:29learn to respond instead of react and and be more in tune
- 1:05:34with what is right, make right decision.
- 1:05:36Because if I have the right decisions economically, then my
- 1:05:39life can thrive in many other ways.
- 1:05:42But if I live my life, just so you know, reacting emotionally,
- 1:05:46being like, oh, I'm crazy, I'm an artist and I'm not
- 1:05:49responsible. I'm, you know, it's not going to
- 1:05:51be a nice life. I'm going to be a victim.
- 1:05:55I don't want to be a victim. This has given me the freedom, a
- 1:05:58lot of freedom. Man.
- 1:06:00The freedom to be me. There you go.
- 1:06:03This is why I come on here. This is why I like this pod.
- 1:06:06Because Bitcoin isn't some evil technological demon from another
- 1:06:13dimension. Might be, I don't know.
- 1:06:15I haven't had that person on yet.
- 1:06:16A good one. But more often than not, people
- 1:06:20articulate their engagement and interaction and experience with
- 1:06:24Bitcoin just like that. Yeah.
- 1:06:27I wrote like a year ago, I don't know where I have it, but I
- 1:06:31wrote like a little thing saying like, I'm at the point that I
- 1:06:35want to risk being right. And I said, I want to explain
- 1:06:38what I'm saying. Even if Bitcoin is, is not real,
- 1:06:43I want to risk being right. So I'm going to go all the way
- 1:06:47in and I'm going to risk it because somewhere I know that
- 1:06:50it's right, but I don't want to sit down and say, well, I was
- 1:06:54doubting it and I didn't go in. So I, this is what I was
- 1:06:56thinking about going old and, and you know, how am I going to
- 1:06:59change my life that way? And I said, I'm just going to
- 1:07:02risk being right. That's it.
- 1:07:04That's my risk. Monica, thank you so much for
- 1:07:09spending some scarce time fire energy telling us the tale of
- 1:07:12how you discovered Bitcoin. This is beautiful.
- 1:07:16Just go all in and risk being right.
- 1:07:18Love it. Risk being right.
- 1:07:20Yeah, There you go and enjoy your life.
- 1:07:24Bitcoin is beautiful.
