- 0:02Speaker 1: Two Teas in a Pod with Teddy Mellencamp and cam
- 0:06Speaker 1: rich Edge. All right, we are back with another episode
- 0:15Speaker 1: of Two Teeth in a Pod and we have a
- 0:18Speaker 1: very special masked guest. And all I can tell you
- 0:23Speaker 1: from the start is hibiscuits costume.
- 0:30Speaker 2: It was fabulous.
- 0:31Speaker 3: When I saw it, I was like, oh my god.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I mean the detail that they put into this costume.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I mean, and it's just was so streamlined and so chic.
- 0:40Speaker 3: It was like a very chic biscus flower.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's like, and I love the color.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I mean, they literally came to my apartment in New
- 0:47Speaker 3: York and measured every part of my body.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Was okay, just so well done.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Did you get to pick or did they have it
- 0:53Speaker 4: picked out for you?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Well, you know, we talked about my inspiration was my
- 0:59Speaker 3: so my mother, you know, in puberty, said you know.
- 1:02Speaker 2: You're a beautiful flower and one day you're going to bloom.
- 1:05Speaker 3: And so I was talking to them about that and
- 1:08Speaker 3: they were like, oh, it's got to be so. And
- 1:11Speaker 3: then we talked about color and things like that, and
- 1:15Speaker 3: and I love cabaret bread and so you know, it's
- 1:18Speaker 3: just it morphed into hibiscus and.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I wasn't comfortable.
- 1:23Speaker 3: The outfit was comfortable, but let me tell you, wearing
- 1:25Speaker 3: a mask over your head and performing is no easy feet.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I mean, they make it look easy on the show
- 1:31Speaker 3: because you know, listen, you you have rehearsal and all that,
- 1:34Speaker 3: but it's very claustrophobic. You can't see out, you have
- 1:38Speaker 3: no peripheral vision, you can't see where the mic is
- 1:40Speaker 3: even because you can't really see down, you can only
- 1:42Speaker 3: see forward. So it was very challenging, I have to say,
- 1:46Speaker 3: And it took a while to get used to.
- 1:50Speaker 4: But did you wear it for a long time because
- 1:52Speaker 4: TV time's a lot different than regular time.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Well no, you know, well we.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Have rehearsals in it because you know, I had to
- 1:59Speaker 3: get used to being in it and and then performing
- 2:02Speaker 3: in it.
- 2:02Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean, and when I was not in
- 2:05Speaker 2: Hibiscus in my outfit, I was, you know, in a
- 2:08Speaker 2: Darth Vader outfit.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Because you really walk around behind the scenes totally covered
- 2:12Speaker 3: from head to toe. All we had to all, you know,
- 2:16Speaker 3: hider our identities. So that was the really interesting part,
- 2:20Speaker 3: which you know nobody knows about. You know, how you
- 2:22Speaker 3: go around backstage is like you know, yeah, literally like
- 2:25Speaker 3: a Darth Vader Mouse.
- 2:26Speaker 5: I think people don't realize, like five minutes TV time
- 2:30Speaker 5: is really about forty five minutes to an hour of.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Filming exactly, exactly A.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Long time to be in that.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know, listen, when they asked me to
- 2:38Speaker 3: do it, I was like, you know what, this is
- 2:40Speaker 3: a challenge for me. I you know, I love competition,
- 2:43Speaker 3: I love you know, you know, I love singing and
- 2:46Speaker 3: I love performance.
- 2:48Speaker 2: So it was really exciting for me to be asked
- 2:51Speaker 2: to do it.
- 2:52Speaker 4: You know, how did you get ast?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yes?
- 2:55Speaker 3: Well, actually I went on to give a clue like
- 2:59Speaker 3: a couple of months before, and then I got the
- 3:01Speaker 3: call to actually come on and be a mass singer.
- 3:03Speaker 3: And I was like the rialed because you know, I
- 3:06Speaker 3: love the show, I love Jenny, I love you know Bryan,
- 3:08Speaker 3: thinking all the judges are great and you know what
- 3:11Speaker 3: a great experience, you know, to do something like that,
- 3:14Speaker 3: something I've never done and a challenge.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Do you think Cabaret got you prepared for it?
- 3:20Speaker 1: And what was harder?
- 3:22Speaker 3: Like, well, one hundred percent, because I'm used to performing
- 3:25Speaker 3: on stage.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I'm just not used to performing on stage with a mascot.
- 3:28Speaker 4: You know, are you going to add that to your
- 3:30Speaker 4: cabaret listen.
- 3:32Speaker 3: You know, well, i have Mary f Kill coming up.
- 3:36Speaker 3: You know, I'm playing the Wiltern in Los Angeles February
- 3:39Speaker 3: sixteenth or Valentine's Day.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I want you girls there.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Oh, I definitely want to go to we have to go.
- 3:44Speaker 5: I was out of town or had something else to
- 3:46Speaker 5: do last time year in LA So that's the definite
- 3:49Speaker 5: yes for me.
- 3:50Speaker 2: We would ask so that can we come up and
- 3:51Speaker 2: sing a song with you? Though no, God, absolutely, that
- 3:56Speaker 2: would be so much time.
- 3:57Speaker 3: So I was thinking, you know, my inspiration really comes
- 4:01Speaker 3: from my shows that I'm doing now. You know, I'm
- 4:04Speaker 3: heading to New Orleans and every teenth, Houston, Chicago, and Atlanta,
- 4:11Speaker 3: amongst the other dates that I'm doing. But but the
- 4:13Speaker 3: inspiration for the new show, which will be in February
- 4:15Speaker 3: and at the Wildern was was my audience. Because every
- 4:19Speaker 3: show I do, I get asked okay, Countess Mary Efkill,
- 4:23Speaker 3: and you know, they give me a lineup, and so
- 4:25Speaker 3: that was really my inspiration. I've written a song for
- 4:28Speaker 3: the new show. I'm super excited. But you know, with
- 4:30Speaker 3: even this tour coming up in November, you know, it's
- 4:35Speaker 3: it's always new because you know, I've done Krabby Lake
- 4:38Speaker 3: since I performed last and you know, so all my
- 4:41Speaker 3: inspiration really comes from you know what I'm up to
- 4:43Speaker 3: in my life and it's a fun time.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I don't know, you guys have not seen my show,
- 4:47Speaker 2: so you have me.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I can't wait. How many shows are on your tour
- 4:51Speaker 4: and how long are you touring?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Well, I've got you know, I've got to like at
- 4:56Speaker 3: least ten dates coming up. I've already done like eight shows.
- 4:59Speaker 3: So so I'm playing Minnesota on Friday night. I'll be
- 5:03Speaker 3: in Prior Lake, Minnesota doing a show Friday, then Saturday
- 5:08Speaker 3: get to Bravo Con. Then I'll be in New Orleans
- 5:11Speaker 3: on the eighteenth, Houston on the nineteenth, and then I'm
- 5:15Speaker 3: going to be in Chicago beginning of December for three
- 5:19Speaker 3: dates at the Park West, and then I'll be in Atlanta.
- 5:23Speaker 4: How do people get tickets to go to your show?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Ny can find tickets at Countess luand dot com with
- 5:28Speaker 3: all my dates and yeah, and the new tour is
- 5:31Speaker 3: not till February sixteenth, so it's not up yet. But
- 5:33Speaker 3: it's February sixteenth.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Martha.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Your calendar is at the will Turn for Valentine's day.
- 5:39Speaker 1: We are down and well too, so make sure you
- 5:44Speaker 1: and back to Mask Singer. You performed on one hit
- 5:47Speaker 1: Wonders Night. Did you get to choose your song? And
- 5:50Speaker 1: how'd you pick it?
- 5:52Speaker 2: Well?
- 5:52Speaker 3: I did, and you know, there were a couple options.
- 5:55Speaker 3: I can't remember what they were, but it's raining men
- 5:58Speaker 3: really stuck out to me.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I'm trying to manifest.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I'm manifesting here as I go along, and you know,
- 6:07Speaker 3: it's such a great song.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And I had so much fun singing that.
- 6:10Speaker 3: So yeah, and if I stayed I was going to
- 6:12Speaker 3: sing easy as well.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Oh that's a good one.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:16Speaker 5: I know lots of major singers have gone on MAS
- 6:19Speaker 5: singer like Debbie Gibson, Leon Rhymes. Yeah, all right, now,
- 6:23Speaker 5: Candy Burrs, our own housewife, one MASS singer.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Did you reach out to her get any advice?
- 6:29Speaker 2: You know, I did not because it was a while ago.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I think that she did the Master Singer, right, it's
- 6:35Speaker 3: been it's been a while, and you know, I just
- 6:37Speaker 3: wanted to have my own experience. You know, it's like
- 6:40Speaker 3: going on to the housewives and calling people and going,
- 6:42Speaker 3: you know, what.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Should I do?
- 6:43Speaker 3: It's like, well, yeah, you know, kind of be yourself.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Do your own thing, So I did not.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But I think Candy's great.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And I know you said that you walked around in
- 6:52Speaker 1: like the dars Vader costume, But did you ever bump
- 6:54Speaker 1: into Sandoval?
- 6:57Speaker 2: No? No, nobody knew who anybody was.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Oh so even the cast has no idea.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I didn't think so idea.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I didn't realize that nobody knows who anyone is. I
- 7:10Speaker 3: never knew the whole time I was working on the
- 7:12Speaker 3: show who anyone was.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Well keep watching you, guys, and we
- 7:18Speaker 1: are so proud of you, and we can't make killing
- 7:21Speaker 1: at the Weltern, and we appreciated you, and we'll see you.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Soon, all right, girls, Love you girls.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Bye,
