- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and chili mornings on demand on 97.1 wash fm.
- 0:05Speaker 2: There's got to be a reason why you are feeling
- 0:08Speaker 2: good as we wake up on this thursday morning halloween
- 0:12Speaker 2: week as we close in on saturday together it is
- 0:16Speaker 2: 97.1 wash fm toby and chili in the morning where
- 0:18Speaker 2: the number is 866-927-4361 you're invited So, Colin, tell us
- 0:23Speaker 2: why you're feeling good this morning. It's always good to
- 0:26Speaker 2: hear from you, and joy is indeed contagious. Chili, why
- 0:28Speaker 2: are you feeling all the good feels this early morning?
- 0:32Speaker 3: All right, random. I remember to take the steak out
- 0:36Speaker 3: of the freezer and put it in the fridge.
- 0:38Speaker 2: That's very important, especially if you were thinking about steak
- 0:41Speaker 2: later on tonight.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Exactly. And I've been trying to remember, just for the record,
- 0:46Speaker 3: the last— three mornings and I forgot and it was
- 0:49Speaker 3: annoying because I didn't, anyway, make a long story short,
- 0:52Speaker 3: today I finally remembered. So yes, we are finally going
- 0:54Speaker 3: to have that stay.
- 0:55Speaker 2: In your defense, we've had a lot of stuff going
- 0:58Speaker 2: on around here that is easy to kind of like
- 1:02Speaker 2: screw with your mind when it comes to stuff because
- 1:04Speaker 2: you're trying just to stay above water.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 2: So yes, I hear you, man. I cannot stand when
- 1:10Speaker 2: you try to thaw like meat in the microwave or something.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I don't do the microwave thawing. I know it's possible,
- 1:17Speaker 3: but I'm old school. I got to put it in
- 1:20Speaker 3: the fridge or on the counter. It's just not going
- 1:22Speaker 3: to happen. I'm not nuking my frozen steak.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I hear you. My Mimi back in the day, God
- 1:27Speaker 2: rest her soul, she did not have a microwave with
- 1:31Speaker 2: which to thaw meat back in the day. And you
- 1:34Speaker 2: know what? We're better for it. Anyway, I'm feeling great
- 1:37Speaker 2: because there are really good people where I live, who
- 1:41Speaker 2: take care of things when they go wrong, the maintenance team.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And I've seen a lot of them over the last
- 1:47Speaker 2: couple of weeks just because, well, things have gone wrong.
- 1:50Speaker 2: But I really like the new guy that they've brought
- 1:53Speaker 2: into where I live and he just gets it and
- 1:56Speaker 2: he's a straight shooter. And, you know, oftentimes people may
- 2:00Speaker 2: not shoot you completely straight because you know what? I'm
- 2:03Speaker 2: not the best when it comes to all of this
- 2:05Speaker 2: home stuff, home, whatever, how water heaters work and pipes.
- 2:09Speaker 2: But Just knowing that he's on it, good thing. So
- 2:13Speaker 2: hopefully you find somebody who's good at the stuff you're
- 2:16Speaker 2: weak at and they compliment whatever you've got going on
- 2:19Speaker 2: today and for the rest of this week. We're totally
- 2:21Speaker 2: in Chile in the morning. Tell us why you're feeling good.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You know where we are. In the meantime, top stories
- 2:27Speaker 2: at the top of the hour. First look at the
- 2:28Speaker 2: news for today is minutes away. What's going on?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Would you ever consider buying a home if you knew
- 2:35Speaker 3: it was haunted? I'm going to share the results of
- 2:38Speaker 3: a recent survey coming up in just a few minutes.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Well, congrats are in order for the Milwaukee Brewers as
- 2:49Speaker 3: they won their first ever World Series championships. They defeated
- 2:54Speaker 3: the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 last night.
- 2:59Speaker 3: The Federal Reserve Chair says inflation remains too high despite
- 3:03Speaker 3: a strong job market. The Fed is holding interest rates
- 3:06Speaker 3: between 3.75% and 4% with its next decision expected in December.
- 3:12Speaker 4: D.C.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Delegate nominee Robert White may have to resign his council
- 3:17Speaker 3: seat before Election Day because of an old law that
- 3:20Speaker 3: bars delegates from holding another paid public office. White warns
- 3:24Speaker 3: an early resignation could leave residents without representation. A Sterling
- 3:28Speaker 3: mother is facing homicide and other charges after authorities say
- 3:31Speaker 3: her eight-month-old drowned in a bathtub with running water. Loudoun
- 3:35Speaker 3: County Sheriff's Office says three other children were inside the home.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Montgomery County leaders are urging the U.S. Census Bureau to
- 3:42Speaker 3: abandon proposed changes to the 2030 census that would exclude
- 3:46Speaker 3: some immigrants and remove questions about race and ethnicity. Officials
- 3:50Speaker 3: warn the changes could reduce Maryland's federal funding and representation. D.C.
- 3:55Speaker 3: lawmakers are considering two bills to strengthen protections for domestic
- 4:00Speaker 3: violence survivors. The proposals would address financial abuse, create a
- 4:05Speaker 3: specialized police response unit, and also increase accountability for people
- 4:10Speaker 3: who violate protective orders. And haunted houses aren't scaring off buyers. No,
- 4:15Speaker 3: a new survey finds that 54% of Americans would actually
- 4:19Speaker 3: consider buying a home they knew was haunted, and 62%
- 4:22Speaker 3: say no. A lower price could definitely seal the deal.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Forecast for today, lots of sunshine. Highs around 72. Right now,
- 4:32Speaker 3: 49 in Beltsville.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Need a dose of inspiration? Now that you've got the
- 4:37Speaker 2: news with Toby and Tilly's top stories at the top
- 4:40Speaker 2: of the hour, remember, by the way, the next news
- 4:42Speaker 2: is right around 610. as you stay with us this morning.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And if you give us just a few minutes, your
- 4:48Speaker 2: morning mindset is on the way. You might find that
- 4:50Speaker 2: you need a little inspiration this morning, or maybe you
- 4:53Speaker 2: just want to hear something that's positive that helps you
- 4:56Speaker 2: as you're making your way into work on the early
- 4:58Speaker 2: part of the DC commute. We'll get to that in
- 5:01Speaker 2: less than 10 minutes. Thanks for waking up with us,
- 5:06Speaker 2: Toby and Chili, in the morning at 97.1 Wash FM.
- 5:09Speaker 2: It's time now for your morning mindset. Hmm, what is
- 5:12Speaker 2: that if you're just joining us for the first time? Well,
- 5:15Speaker 2: you should know.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It is when we find a quote and we share
- 5:18Speaker 3: it with you to hopefully inspire or maybe motivate you
- 5:22Speaker 3: if you're needing it from us.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Apple's immediate past CEO, Tim Cook, dropped this morsel on
- 5:30Speaker 2: us today. Your mentors... Tim Cook says, may leave you prepared,
- 5:36Speaker 2: but they can't leave you ready. Your mentors may leave
- 5:42Speaker 2: you prepared, but they can't leave you ready. Now, what
- 5:48Speaker 2: does this mean and why does it matter? Well, today
- 5:50Speaker 2: could be your first day on a new job. Maybe
- 5:53Speaker 2: you know that today you're going to bring your first
- 5:55Speaker 2: baby home. You can read every book. You can Google
- 5:59Speaker 2: every page. You can get all of the advice from
- 6:02Speaker 2: everybody and still feel completely unprepared for whatever that is life.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Sometimes confidence comes after you take the first step and
- 6:16Speaker 2: not before. So remember that your mentors, they might leave
- 6:20Speaker 2: you prepared, but they can't leave you ready. Apply that
- 6:25Speaker 2: to your life today and remember, you've got whatever you're
- 6:28Speaker 2: going through today. All right? That's your morning mindset. Need
- 6:31Speaker 2: it again? Get to the Toby and Chili page, washfm.com.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Reach out. We'll happily send it to you or find
- 6:36Speaker 2: it socially floating around in the universe somewhere. Anyway, stay
- 6:41Speaker 2: with us because next with Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Okay, if you're feeling down, there is now a pharmacy
- 6:46Speaker 3: in London that doesn't give you pills. No, no, no.
- 6:50Speaker 3: They prescribe pills.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Flowers instead you say pharmacy you think of taking a
- 6:55Speaker 2: prescription to go get what you need or perhaps maybe
- 6:58Speaker 2: you need some over-the-counter remedy for something i don't know
- 7:01Speaker 2: that the thing you think about at a pharmacy is
- 7:04Speaker 2: flowers but i guess that's the case this morning and
- 7:07Speaker 2: we're about to find out why at 97.1 wash fm
- 7:10Speaker 2: with toby and chili in the morning okay ma'am explain
- 7:14Speaker 2: this to the class.
- 7:15Speaker 3: London has opened up a flower pharmacy and they prescribe
- 7:19Speaker 3: customized bouquets designed to lift your mood, maybe calm your
- 7:22Speaker 3: mind or even boost your energy. So they say like
- 7:25Speaker 3: yellow blooms like sunflowers and roses are meant to promote happiness.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Blue and green flowers aimed at relaxing you and then
- 7:32Speaker 3: brighter reds and oranges are prescribed for an energy kick.
- 7:37Speaker 3: This whole thing came up, Toby, because research showed that
- 7:40Speaker 3: more than a third of people really struggle emotionally when
- 7:43Speaker 3: the clocks fall back and the days get shorter. And
- 7:46Speaker 3: more than half of respondents said that fresh flowers make
- 7:49Speaker 3: them happier than treats like coffee, sweets or takeout.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Number one, this is one of the reasons why we
- 7:54Speaker 2: need to stop with this back and forth with time.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Let's just pick something and leave it where it needs
- 7:59Speaker 2: to be. That way, that's eliminated from the problem. Number two,
- 8:03Speaker 2: all of these colors, they're all brown in the end.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Because you kill them all?
- 8:08Speaker 2: That's what happens with these flowers. They typically pass. By
- 8:12Speaker 2: the time you buy them, get them home, you put
- 8:14Speaker 2: them in some sort of a vase. Maybe you've got, what,
- 8:17Speaker 2: a few days of happiness?
- 8:18Speaker 5: Sure.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 8:19Speaker 2: And is that enough?
- 8:22Speaker 3: I have a lot of friends who always have fresh
- 8:26Speaker 3: flowers in the home. They go to the Trader Joe's
- 8:28Speaker 3: or whatever. They pick up a bouquet and they keep
- 8:30Speaker 3: it on the counter in the kitchen somewhere. You and
- 8:33Speaker 3: I are not those people.
- 8:34Speaker 4: No.
- 8:35Speaker 3: So we wouldn't be maybe taking part in the flower pharmacy.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I'm going to stick to my Zoloft.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Right.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:41Speaker 3: That being said.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 8:43Speaker 3: They may be onto something. And there is research that
- 8:46Speaker 3: shows that flowers do bring people joy. So this is
- 8:49Speaker 3: not all poo-poo.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I disagree with the idea that this self-care thing is
- 8:54Speaker 2: as simple as stopping to smell the roses because they die. However,
- 8:57Speaker 2: I do have like glade potpourri that smells like a
- 9:02Speaker 2: whole flower garden in spring. What do you think about
- 9:05Speaker 2: the flower pharmacy idea? Good concept? Yay or nay? The U.S.
- 9:10Speaker 2: always follows the U.K. by about six months. So tell
- 9:13Speaker 2: us your thoughts. Read more. Toby and Chili page. Wash

- 9:33Speaker 2: of your personal nostalgia and your memories as we go

- 9:51Speaker 2: By the way, from the 90s, is 30 years old.

- 11:08Speaker 3: the D.C. Council considers tougher oversight and training requirements. D.C.
- 11:14Speaker 3: court judges are urging more lawyers to volunteer, warning of
- 11:17Speaker 3: a shortage of free legal help for people who face eviction,
- 11:21Speaker 3: custody disputes, domestic violence and probate cases. They say some
- 11:25Speaker 3: folks are even turning to A.I. for legal guidance because
- 11:28Speaker 3: they cannot afford an attorney. The National Park Service is
- 11:32Speaker 3: going to close most of East Potomac Park starting November 15th.
- 11:37Speaker 3: They cite a deteriorating seawall, and that closure will include
- 11:41Speaker 3: Haines Point Golf Course, trails, and picnic areas. And finally,
- 11:46Speaker 3: would you take a pay cut for a four-day workweek?
- 11:50Speaker 3: A new survey finds 34% of Americans say, yep, sure would,
- 11:55Speaker 3: with Gen Z the most willing. But 63% say they
- 11:59Speaker 3: would not give up any pay for an extra day off.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Forecast for today, lots of sunshine. Highs around 72. Right now,

- 12:12Speaker 2: with Toby and Chili in the morning every hour. It's
- 12:15Speaker 2: top stories at the top of the hour. Next news
- 12:18Speaker 2: right around 710. In the meantime, give us a call
- 12:21Speaker 2: here at 866-927-4361. Little kids about to run around neighborhoods, trick-or-treating,
- 12:27Speaker 2: knocking on doors. If you have the bad candy, they're
- 12:30Speaker 2: going to come back and pull some tricks. Watch out.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Just saying. Adults, though, if you could do some trick-or-treating
- 12:38Speaker 2: and it weren't candy that you were looking for at
- 12:41Speaker 2: the door of these people, what would it be and why?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Let's discuss what you would want if you went knocking
- 12:48Speaker 2: on the doors in the neighborhood. We'll get to it
- 12:51Speaker 2: coming up. Give us a call to jump in.
- 12:55Speaker 5: 866-927-4361.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Talkback's wide open, too. If you are signed in listening
- 12:59Speaker 2: to us on your iHeart app, tap the microphone and
- 13:03Speaker 2: leave us your thoughts. We're Toby and Chili in the
- 13:05Speaker 2: morning at 97.1 Wash FM.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Let's talk about... Trick-or-treating. But let's pretend, as adults, we
- 13:12Speaker 3: can go house-to-house. And instead of candy, we get something
- 13:16Speaker 3: else as a treat. This is all hypothetical, of course.
- 13:20Speaker 3: What would you love to have people pass out?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Well, Chili, I've given this a lot of thought, and
- 13:26Speaker 2: I think it would be a wonderful idea for people
- 13:29Speaker 2: to pass out $ 5 to $ 10 Visa gift cards.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Okay.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You know why? Because they're small dollar that's guaranteed to
- 13:37Speaker 2: be spent. You won't squirrel them away thinking you can
- 13:39Speaker 2: add it to something else and maybe get something bigger.
- 13:41Speaker 2: That would be a great thing.
- 13:42Speaker 5: And you?
- 13:43Speaker 3: I'm going to go with lip gloss. I have an
- 13:45Speaker 3: addiction and collect a lot of lip gloss. Can never
- 13:47Speaker 3: have enough gloss. And it would be fun to go
- 13:49Speaker 3: to house to house and choose different shades.
- 13:52Speaker 2: That's right.
- 13:52Speaker 3: And plus, they could look like candy in theory.
- 13:54Speaker 2: That's right, and it might even taste like candy in theory.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah, you never know.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Because your lip gloss is popping.
- 14:01Speaker 5: 866-927-4361.
- 14:02Speaker 2: What would you want if you were doing some trick-or-treating?
- 14:05Speaker 2: It's not candy. Cassie in Manassas, good morning.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Instead of candy, I think healthy treats and a positive
- 14:12Speaker 3: message or a motivational quote would be a great treat. Well,
- 14:15Speaker 3: you know, Cassie, those are great ideas, but I will
- 14:17Speaker 3: say that Toby does the morning mindset every morning right
- 14:21Speaker 3: around 520, and it's a motivational quote.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Now about those healthy treats, Cassie. That's pretty much all
- 14:28Speaker 2: I have to say about that. But it's a good idea.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Thank you for jumping into the conversation today. Toby and
- 14:34Speaker 2: Chili in the morning. So tell us, you're an adult.
- 14:37Speaker 2: If you were to go trick-or-treating, aside from candy, what
- 14:41Speaker 2: would you want when you knock on the door and
- 14:44Speaker 2: you go trick-or-treat? Tell us. Could be anything. And we
- 14:46Speaker 2: look forward to hearing what you have to say as
- 14:48Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning continues. What you say? 866-927-4361.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Toby and Tilly in the morning, 97.1 Wash FM on.
- 14:58Speaker 2: It's Thursday and we're talking about adults trick-or-treating, which you
- 15:02Speaker 2: would rather have than candy when you go door-to-door knocking
- 15:06Speaker 2: on the door saying trick-or-treat.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Yeah, in our hypothetical scenario, I had said it'd be
- 15:11Speaker 3: fun if they passed out lip gloss and Toby said
- 15:14Speaker 3: $ 5 to $ 10 Visa gift cards would be nice.
- 15:17Speaker 2: And Terrence in Silver Spring, who's been patiently waiting for
- 15:21Speaker 2: a second to tell us, what is it that you, sir,
- 15:24Speaker 2: would like to have if you go trick-or-treating on this
- 15:27Speaker 2: Saturday evening?
- 15:28Speaker 3: So instead of.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Candy, what I wish they were handing out for trick-or-treating,
- 15:31Speaker 4: I'm totally going with Yoo-Hoo.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Did you say Yoo-Hoo? You know, the Yoo-Hoo drink. Yes,
- 15:36Speaker 3: it's like a grown-up chocolate milk. My father-in-law used to
- 15:39Speaker 3: love that.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Is it now, Chili? Terrence, Chili, I've never had Yoo-Hoo.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, it's so tasty.
- 15:45Speaker 5: Okay.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I really don't recall ever tasting the tasty goodness of
- 15:50Speaker 2: a Yoo-Hoo. Well, now you're going to have to get some. Parents,
- 15:52Speaker 2: thank you for the inspiration. Over to Winchester. Michelle, good morning.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Instead of candy, I wish that we were handed out
- 16:01Speaker 5: gas cards.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Ooh, that's a good one. A gas card would be
- 16:05Speaker 3: a great treat. I may cry if that ever happened.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Facts. I just cried when I paid $ 5 a gallon
- 16:11Speaker 2: for gas the other day. Not pleasant.
- 16:14Speaker 3: They would very much appreciate it.
- 16:16Speaker 2: And if there's something that isn't a Don't decide from
- 16:18Speaker 2: candy that you would like to have if you were
- 16:20Speaker 2: able to do some trick-or-treating this weekend. Tell us what
- 16:23Speaker 2: it is. Tap the talkback microphone. It'll work if you're
- 16:26Speaker 2: signed in listening to us right now on your iHeart app.
- 16:30Speaker 2: And leave us what that is. It might be an
- 16:33Speaker 2: inspiring idea. Top stories at the top of the hour.
- 16:36Speaker 2: That's the news. It's on the way right around 7.10. Chili,
- 16:40Speaker 2: what's going on this morning?
- 16:41Speaker 3: A new global survey reveals the world's most trusted professions. Okay,
- 16:46Speaker 3: radio personality is not on the list, but I will
- 16:49Speaker 3: share the top three coming up in just a few.
- 16:52Speaker 2: It's just the thing to get you festive for the
- 16:56Speaker 2: holiday season. Pentatonix, CFG Bank Arena, December 3rd. Thanks to
- 17:01Speaker 2: Live Nation, we have tickets for you in less than
- 17:03Speaker 2: 25 minutes at 97.1 Wash FM with Toby and Chili
- 17:07Speaker 2: in the morning.
- 17:07Speaker 3: All you have to do is get our nearly impossible
- 17:10Speaker 3: question right, and we're going to be asking that right
- 17:12Speaker 3: around 7.10 after Toby and Chili's Top Stories. If you

- 20:59Speaker 3: so if you don't recognize it, no answer, huh? Absolutely not.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Well, that's crazy. What if you and I were like
- 21:05Speaker 2: longtime friends and I called you from my phone with

- 22:32Speaker 3: We have Tricia on the phone. She's one of our listeners,

- 22:43Speaker 2: Remember, when you face a dilemma, something overwhelming that's causing
- 22:47Speaker 2: you some stress, we're here to help. Toby and Chili
- 22:49Speaker 2: in the morning. It's 97.1 Wash FM. On the phone,
- 22:53Speaker 2: she lives in Damascus. What's your name?
- 22:56Speaker 6: Hi, it's Trisha.
- 22:58Speaker 3: What can we do for you, Tricia?
- 22:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I would love to specifically hear from the guys
- 23:03Speaker 5: out there. So basically my husband, he was working like
- 23:07Speaker 5: a hybrid schedule, but really he only worked like one
- 23:10Speaker 5: day from home.
- 23:10Speaker 6: Okay. He actually has been moved to fully remote and
- 23:15Speaker 6: I actually work from home as well.
- 23:17Speaker 3: And is that a bad thing?
- 23:18Speaker 6: It is absolutely driving me insane.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Well, that stinks. I'm sorry to hear that, but.
- 23:24Speaker 3: What specifically is driving you crazy?
- 23:27Speaker 6: We don't have our space.
- 23:28Speaker 1: We're on top of each other.
- 23:29Speaker 6: We can hear each other's calls.
- 23:31Speaker 5: And then on top of that, he's like nagging me on.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Things like, oh, how many cups of coffee did you
- 23:35Speaker 6: have today? And now he's home and it's just driving
- 23:38Speaker 6: me insane.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And I'm like, is this going to get.
- 23:40Speaker 6: To a point where it's going to hurt our relationship?
- 23:41Speaker 6: So I'm just curious, especially if any of the guys
- 23:44Speaker 6: out there or ladies, it's like, how do you handle
- 23:46Speaker 6: this or any tips or tricks for me?
- 23:48Speaker 2: Shelly, what do you say?
- 23:49Speaker 3: I mean, I think you should talk to him about it.
- 23:52Speaker 3: You know, my husband works from home and if he
- 23:53Speaker 3: was driving me crazy, I certainly would try to create
- 23:56Speaker 3: some boundaries.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Yeah, certainly you need to have a conversation before things
- 24:00Speaker 2: get out of hand and it's not a conversation. It's
- 24:03Speaker 2: more like a shouting match and nobody wants to have
- 24:05Speaker 2: a shouting match, especially not in the comfort of your
- 24:08Speaker 2: own home, especially since you both have to share a workspace.
- 24:12Speaker 2: It'll cause resentment. I don't know if that helps or not,
- 24:15Speaker 2: but we can put that question to the class. 866-927-4361.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Why don't you call us right now?
- 24:24Speaker 3: And tell us what you think Tricia should do, especially
- 24:26Speaker 3: if you've got experience with it.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Remember, you can also tap the TalkBack microphone if you're
- 24:30Speaker 2: signed in and you're listening to us right now on
- 24:32Speaker 2: your free iHeartRadio app. Tricia, hang out and we'll see
- 24:37Speaker 2: what the feedback is like on this Thursday morning, okay?
- 24:40Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You're welcome. But first, we got to get to the news.

- 29:24Speaker 2: I do think you have to respect what she's trying
