- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:13Speaker 1: Blue Nation. Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is
- 0:16Speaker 1: Michael Bennett on this Wednesday, October 14th. See, I was
- 0:21Speaker 1: prepared for it today. I'm proud of myself. First time
- 0:23Speaker 1: in what? Two and a half years? Ever. Yeah, that
- 0:27Speaker 1: is true. But if you want to join us, you
- 0:29Speaker 1: can do that at 502-384-1450. You want to text us
- 0:32Speaker 1: on the Whiskey Thief text line, you can do that
- 0:34Speaker 1: at 502-414-1450. You can tweet me at JustTheCatRadio as we
- 0:39Speaker 1: get you ready for a lot of things. This is
- 0:42Speaker 1: when sports becomes really fun. Okay? This time of year. Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Because you got the baseball playoffs going on. We'll talk
- 0:50Speaker 1: about that a little bit. You got basketball Friday night
- 0:54Speaker 1: with UK. And you got UK football on Saturday. And
- 0:58Speaker 1: thank goodness for once we get to continue to talk
- 1:01Speaker 1: UK football. Because by this time, normally, we're on to basketball.
- 1:07Speaker 1: And we're not even close to being on to basketball,
- 1:09Speaker 1: are we? I wouldn't say so.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I mean, part of that, though, is it does still
- 1:14Speaker 2: feel like it's so far away.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but good morning, Justin Kalen. I appreciate you being
- 1:18Speaker 1: here with me. But as everyone is hearing the voice
- 1:22Speaker 1: of Justin Kalen right now, This studio is in total
- 1:26Speaker 1: disarray over here. Is it? Yeah. What's going on? Headphones
- 1:30Speaker 1: are hanging down. Microphones are hanging down. It's like, what's
- 1:32Speaker 1: going on over here? But anyway, it's very distracting. But
- 1:38Speaker 1: I'm excited because, you know, you got SEC basketball days
- 1:41Speaker 1: going up, media days going on right now down in Birmingham.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I forgot I applied for it. Did we talk? about
- 1:47Speaker 1: that yesterday no we didn't talk about it at all
- 1:49Speaker 1: but we're going to talk about it today we have
- 1:51Speaker 1: to yeah well we do we have to we have
- 1:53Speaker 1: to really you you want to pray tell what you're
- 1:57Speaker 1: referring to maybe i i mean it's got to be
- 1:59Speaker 1: about lsu right oh absolutely it's got to be about
- 2:03Speaker 1: lsu what's happening i well okay uh should we start
- 2:08Speaker 1: about it i wouldn't go talk about but for a
- 2:10Speaker 1: couple more minutes but we can start talking about it
- 2:13Speaker 1: now if you want to let's do it all right
- 2:16Speaker 1: What do you mean what is happening with LSU? Because
- 2:19Speaker 1: I don't want to influence you on what the topic
- 2:22Speaker 1: might be. I want to hear what the number one
- 2:25Speaker 1: thing with LSU was with yesterday. To my understanding, they're
- 2:28Speaker 1: not there. You are correct. But there is a reason. Supposedly.
- 2:33Speaker 1: There is no reason. I've looked at weather maps. Oh,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you did.
- 2:37Speaker 2: You did look at it. There is a 0% chance
- 2:40Speaker 2: that they should not be there.
- 2:41Speaker 1: All right, so yesterday, if you haven't heard, LSU, both Mulkey,
- 2:48Speaker 1: Kim Mulkey, and Will Wade didn't... Oh, it was the
- 2:52Speaker 1: women's team too? Oh, it's men and women that were
- 2:56Speaker 1: supposed to... I didn't realize that. Okay, yes. And so
- 3:00Speaker 1: they did not show up for SEC media basketball days
- 3:04Speaker 1: yesterday in Birmingham. The reason was... Their flight got canceled
- 3:10Speaker 1: due to fog in Baton Rouge. Fog. Yes. Seriously. So
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'm thinking, you mean the fog was there all day?
- 3:21Speaker 1: They couldn't delay it and kind of move everything around
- 3:24Speaker 1: just for LSU to be able to make it up there?
- 3:27Speaker 1: So instead, they did a Zoom call for everyone to
- 3:31Speaker 1: ask questions. I was with you. And so you looked
- 3:36Speaker 1: up evidently. The weather in Baton Rouge yesterday. I did, yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I pulled up a weather map. And you saw no fog.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Well, fog doesn't show up on a weather map unless
- 3:45Speaker 2: you go to a special kind. But, no, I was
- 3:48Speaker 2: just on the normal. Because when I hear inclement weather,
- 3:51Speaker 2: I'm thinking storms, something along that line, maybe the hurricane leftovers. But, no,
- 3:57Speaker 2: there's nothing going on in Louisiana.
- 4:00Speaker 1: At all. All right. I'm kidding. Okay. Well, it does say, yes,
- 4:05Speaker 1: there was significant morning fog in Baton Rouge yesterday.
- 4:08Speaker 2: But I'm with you. Why couldn't they just delay it later? See,
- 4:11Speaker 2: here's the thing.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Why would you not go a day earlier? I don't know.
- 4:15Speaker 1: The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for
- 4:19Speaker 1: Baton Rouge and surrounding parts of Southeast. Louisiana, that lasted
- 4:23Speaker 1: through the early mornings until 9 a.m. So I'm thinking, well,
- 4:28Speaker 1: why can't the SEC just kind of move everything around? Well,
- 4:33Speaker 1: the SEC day doesn't start at 9 o'clock, does it? No.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I wouldn't imagine. So, all right, why can't they leave
- 4:38Speaker 1: at 9.30? It doesn't take that long to fly from
- 4:42Speaker 1: Baton Rouge to Birmingham. You could have got on a bus. Probably, right?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Or driven. I don't know. How long is flight?
- 4:58Speaker 2: I mean, the drive's only 400 miles. Hop on a
- 5:01Speaker 2: bus and call it a day.
- 5:02Speaker 1: All right, let's see how long the flight is. It's
- 5:07Speaker 1: a little longer than I thought. The flight, a nonstop
- 5:10Speaker 1: flight from Baton Rouge to Birmingham is an hour 25.
- 5:12Speaker 1: That seems awfully long. That can't be right, can it?
- 5:16Speaker 1: For 400 miles? That just seems awfully long. It does.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I have to believe it's like a 45-minute flight. I mean,
- 5:23Speaker 1: you can get from Louisville to Orlando in two. Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 1: How can you not get from Baton Rouge to Birmingham?
- 5:31Speaker 1: Hour 25. That's crazy. Yeah. All right. Well, all right.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So they could have gotten there. That's worst case scenario. 1130.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I mean, so what's going on here? I still, listen,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I think LSU has become the villain of the SEC.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Between not just Kim Mulkey, because she's become very unpopular,
- 5:55Speaker 1: but this whole Will Wade situation has gotten way out
- 5:59Speaker 1: of hand, without a doubt. Now you got, you know,
- 6:03Speaker 1: you already had the beef between, I'll say his name.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I wasn't going to say his name because I'm not
- 6:08Speaker 1: a fan. But Pat Forty and Will Wade, you know
- 6:11Speaker 1: they don't like each other because you had the whole
- 6:13Speaker 1: investigation that cost Will Wade his job back in 2022
- 6:17Speaker 1: with the whole, we paid him good money on that recruit, right?
- 6:21Speaker 1: All right, so, and Pat Forty wrote an article on that. Well,
- 6:25Speaker 1: Pat Forty was writing or asking questions yesterday about his roster,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, Will Wade's getting a little irritated.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Will Wade accused Pat Forty of asking a gotcha question
- 6:45Speaker 1: and responded, that's who you got, and claimed he left
- 6:49Speaker 1: good about the roster. He felt good about the roster
- 6:53Speaker 1: players getting cleared. He does have 10 players now. He does?
- 6:57Speaker 1: For what it's worth. Okay. Well, Pat Forty was asked
- 7:01Speaker 1: about the eligibility status of Sky Clark, Niang, and Levi Gillard.
- 7:09Speaker 1: So that's who he was asking about. And are they
- 7:12Speaker 1: going to be ready for the season? No way, right?
- 7:17Speaker 1: I don't see. No, I don't see any way. I
- 7:20Speaker 1: really don't. I mean, it's just. At least he has
- 7:23Speaker 1: 10 players. You're right about that, but they're going to
- 7:25Speaker 1: be terrible. I would think they would. Does Will Wade
- 7:29Speaker 1: recruit next year the same way he did this year?
- 7:33Speaker 1: I would venture to say no. So would I. But
- 7:36Speaker 1: you never know. Will Wade is a, I'm not going
- 7:39Speaker 1: to say strange bird, but he's a bird without a doubt.
- 7:42Speaker 2: He's unpredictable, just like every other LSU coach. It seems
- 7:47Speaker 2: that way, doesn't it? I mean, Kiffin, Mulkey, they're all three.
- 7:50Speaker 2: They're all like three peas in a pod.
- 7:52Speaker 1: How would you feel if those three coaches were at
- 7:57Speaker 1: UK or IU? I would be like, oh, this is
- 8:01Speaker 1: not good. Yeah, I wouldn't be a fan, probably. No. And,
- 8:03Speaker 1: of course, Kiffin is still coming up with all the
- 8:06Speaker 1: excuses of why they lost Saturday night and won't accept
- 8:09Speaker 1: that UK actually beat them. The LSU fan base is
- 8:13Speaker 1: going nuts because they are right there behind Lane Kiffin
- 8:17Speaker 1: on that whole touchdown that ended the first half. The
- 8:23Speaker 1: tush push. It's like, get over it. And somebody posted
- 8:27Speaker 1: an overhead view of that play, and clearly UK scored.
- 8:32Speaker 1: But they don't want to accept it because of what
- 8:34Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin said. And I'd like to know why the
- 8:37Speaker 1: SEC didn't come down on Lane Kiffin. You can't criticize...
- 8:42Speaker 1: Or say anything, a conversation on the field about a
- 8:46Speaker 1: referee or an official.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I mean, even if he didn't score, there wouldn't have
- 8:50Speaker 2: been enough evidence in replay to overturn it anyway.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think he scored, too, for
- 8:55Speaker 1: what it's worth. Yeah, exactly. He did. He scored. But,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I mean, there was no reason to blow the whistle.
- 9:00Speaker 1: They were still moving. The ball was still moving forward.
- 9:03Speaker 1: The line was still moving forward. LSU players were going backwards.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Why do you blow the whistle at that point? You don't.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And then the overhead shot, whoever put that out, was brilliant.
- 9:14Speaker 1: And it shows clearly that UK scored. So, UK won
- 9:17Speaker 1: the game. LSU refuses to accept that UK beat them.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And this was supposed to be a special year for them.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You know, they got beat by, well, anyway, I'm not
- 9:28Speaker 1: going to go off on that, but, but yeah, I
- 9:32Speaker 1: will go off on Will Wade though. This is just
- 9:34Speaker 1: a weird situation. I can't wait to see how it
- 9:36Speaker 1: all plays out. Really? I really can. How so?
- 9:40Speaker 2: I just, I mean, it's just going to be so interesting.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Like how many, how many of those guys, first of all,
- 9:45Speaker 2: are going to be eligible when it's all said and done, which,
- 9:48Speaker 2: I still don't think we're out of the woods with
- 9:50Speaker 2: this stuff. I mean, we're going to get announcements. Like,
- 9:53Speaker 2: for instance, yesterday in Ohio, you had a thing that
- 9:56Speaker 2: came out, Judge granted fifth years for all. the players
- 10:00Speaker 2: from ohio but i mean we're we're going to continue
- 10:03Speaker 2: to go back and forth with this stuff they're who's
- 10:05Speaker 2: the guys that are eligible today very well could not
- 10:09Speaker 2: be eligible in a month And then a month after that,
- 10:12Speaker 2: maybe they're eligible again. So it's going to be it'll
- 10:15Speaker 2: be exhausting to follow all this, especially from LSU standpoint.
- 10:19Speaker 2: But just to see how it all plays out, how
- 10:21Speaker 2: many of these guys are actually going to use? How
- 10:23Speaker 2: many how many games are they going to win? Because
- 10:25Speaker 2: I don't think it's going to be very many, at
- 10:27Speaker 2: least right now.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Well, do you kind of get to a point where
- 10:31Speaker 1: now you feel like Mark Mitchell could have played at U.K.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, what's going on with him? I saw something about
- 10:37Speaker 2: him earlier this week.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Well, Dennis Gates, the coach at Missouri, said he never recruited,
- 10:42Speaker 1: never talked to him, never convinced him to come back.
- 10:45Speaker 1: He said he just showed up. I was like, really?
- 10:49Speaker 1: You buy that? Is that basically saying you don't want him?
- 10:53Speaker 1: I don't know. It's like, well, he was gone. Now
- 10:55Speaker 1: he's back. And it's like, I never talked to him.
- 10:58Speaker 1: He did not recruit Mark Mitchell back from Kentucky is
- 11:01Speaker 1: what he said. I never had one conversation. I'm calling
- 11:05Speaker 1: BS on that. I'm not.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I mean, he probably didn't have to have a conversation
- 11:10Speaker 2: because the only option for Mark Mitchell after all that
- 11:13Speaker 2: came out was to go back to Missouri.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Right. But he never had one conversation with him. Come on.
- 11:20Speaker 1: He had to have some kind of conversation with them.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I don't know. I believe Gates here. You do? I do.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I don't. I'm calling BS on that one, too. Listen,
- 11:29Speaker 1: the SEC, as far as some of the coaches within
- 11:32Speaker 1: the SEC, man, there are some characters out there. And obviously,
- 11:36Speaker 1: Will Wade's number one. In football, Lane Kiffin is clearly
- 11:41Speaker 1: number one. It's all based at LSU, and it's just
- 11:44Speaker 1: a wild situation down there in Baton Rouge. Mm-hmm. But,
- 11:47Speaker 1: I mean, you got some other ones out there. Go Tigers.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Nate Oates. I think he's one of those kind of
- 11:53Speaker 1: coaches down there. And we haven't heard anything from John Calipari. So,
- 12:01Speaker 1: it's been quiet down there in Arkansas. It has been, yeah.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Do you feel like the seed is getting a little
- 12:08Speaker 1: warm in Arkansas? No, stop. Not at all? No. Yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I don't either. Cal can be there as long as
- 12:13Speaker 1: he wants. Really? You think as long as he wants? Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 2: When Cal wants to leave, he'll leave. They won't force him.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I don't know if that would be the case or not.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Unless he's winning like six games a year, they're not
- 12:24Speaker 1: going to get rid of him. If he's just, okay,
- 12:27Speaker 1: if he's not going deep in the tournament, I don't
- 12:29Speaker 1: know if they just will let him continue to stay there.
- 12:32Speaker 1: But it's Arkansas. It's not Kentucky. It is. Oh, okay.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I see what you're saying.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Like there's not expectations at Arkansas. Oh, they think they
- 12:40Speaker 2: have expectations, though.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I mean, it's not the 90s anymore. True. And that's
- 12:45Speaker 1: what they miss the most. 35 years have passed. That's
- 12:47Speaker 1: why they think that they've got expectations because they still
- 12:50Speaker 1: think they're irrelevant within basketball. I mean, they're not even relevant.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Are they relevant in any sport right now? I mean,
- 12:58Speaker 1: are they? Okay, that's right. They were last year. Yes,
- 13:00Speaker 1: they were last year. But as far as football and basketball.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Doesn't Cal make them relevant? You think so? I do. Hmm. Okay. Now, football,
- 13:12Speaker 1: I'm not going to even try to argue. They're horrible. Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Who is the worst within the SEC when you combine
- 13:20Speaker 1: basketball and football? Because you can't say Vanderbilt. You can't
- 13:26Speaker 1: say Mississippi State. I think you can still say Mississippi State.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Can you really? Even though they're having a really good
- 13:33Speaker 1: football season? I mean, it's really good for their standard,
- 13:37Speaker 1: but by the time the year's over, is it going
- 13:40Speaker 1: to be really good for SEC standard?
- 13:41Speaker 2: Probably not. They'll probably be eight and four, seven and five.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I might have said South Carolina, but now South Carolina's
- 13:49Speaker 1: doing pretty good. South Carolina's the right answer. See, I
- 13:52Speaker 1: think it is. I think South Carolina's the worst in
- 13:54Speaker 1: the SEC when it comes to football, combination football and basketball.
- 13:58Speaker 2: We mentioned Kentucky yesterday finishing seventh in the SEC.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That's what the media members within the SEC voted. Who
- 14:05Speaker 1: did they vote last? I don't remember who it was.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Let me see if I can look that up real
- 14:14Speaker 1: quick here. Stall for me. Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 2: So I'm just curious because that's going to be really telling.
- 14:19Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I mean, Georgia, I don't think Georgia is going to
- 14:21Speaker 2: be all that great this year.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Could be wrong there. Auburn. Yeah. Mike White's not
- 14:27Speaker 1: done the job that you thought he would have. Ooh,
- 14:30Speaker 1: maybe Auburn is the answer. No, South Carolina. I'll go
- 14:35Speaker 1: through the worst program. It might be Auburn. I didn't
- 14:38Speaker 1: think about Auburn. Yes. I think you're right there. All right,
- 14:42Speaker 1: so here's where they started from the top to the
- 14:44Speaker 1: bottom that the SEC media voted. Florida, we all know. Texas,
- 14:49Speaker 1: we talked about. Arkansas, three. UT is four. Alabama, five. Bandy, six.
- 14:56Speaker 1: And then Kentucky. Then they got at the bottom, they
- 15:00Speaker 1: got Missouri at eight. Auburn 9, A & M 10,
- 15:06Speaker 1: Georgia 11, Oklahoma 12, Ole Miss 13, LSU 14, 15
- 15:13Speaker 1: is Mississippi State, and then South Carolina carries the bottom. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: it has to be South Carolina then. Really?
- 15:21Speaker 2: I'm with you with the whole Auburn thing, though. I
- 15:23Speaker 2: think you could also make a case for A & M.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Really? But they got them voted as 10th. That's not good.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Just three below U.K., Well, UK being seventh and behind
- 15:35Speaker 1: Vanderbilt is not good. That's not going to happen. You
- 15:38Speaker 1: don't think so? No.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It's like Big Ten media. They predicted Indiana to be
- 15:43Speaker 2: ninth in the Big Ten. That's not going to happen.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Indiana will finish above ninth. Kentucky will finish above seventh.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Well, Brandon Garrison was interviewed yesterday. Where's that goober? He's
- 15:54Speaker 1: at Alabama. He's with Nate Oates. We're not done with
- 15:57Speaker 1: him yet? He was... Why do you dislike him so much?
- 16:01Speaker 1: Poor guy. He's done absolutely nothing to you, and you
- 16:05Speaker 1: just give him all the hate in the world.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Just saying. Nature's run its course. We should be done
- 16:09Speaker 2: by now.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I will say it was kind of weird seeing him
- 16:11Speaker 1: in an Alabama uniform, but he did a comparison between
- 16:15Speaker 1: Nate Oates and Mark Pope. Says, Nate Oates is an
- 16:18Speaker 1: intense yeller and deeply reliant on analytics, where Pope is
- 16:24Speaker 1: laid back and more into the X's and O's. And
- 16:29Speaker 1: said that Brandon Garrison said that he was looking for
- 16:33Speaker 1: a style that fit his game better in the portal. Now,
- 16:38Speaker 1: which is the better style of coaching that you would
- 16:41Speaker 1: like to have at your respective school? Do you like
- 16:44Speaker 1: an intense yeller, deeply reliant on analytics? Or do you
- 16:47Speaker 1: like more of a laid back X is a no
- 16:50Speaker 1: kind of guy? I've had both coaches in my life
- 16:55Speaker 1: or in high school or whatnot. And I much prefer
- 16:58Speaker 1: the more laid back. Oh, do you really? Yeah, I
- 17:00Speaker 1: don't want to.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Screaming at me is not going to motivate me. And
- 17:05Speaker 2: that's what those coaches that are like that don't understand. Like,
- 17:08Speaker 2: I'm sure there are kids. that get screamed at in
- 17:11Speaker 2: the course of a practice or a game. And that's
- 17:13Speaker 2: maybe a motivating factor for them. But that, that almost
- 17:16Speaker 2: does the opposite for me. Honestly, I makes me want
- 17:19Speaker 2: to lay down.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I thought Brandon Garrison would have been cutting towards Pope,
- 17:23Speaker 1: but he wasn't at all. I thought that was a
- 17:24Speaker 1: pretty accurate description of Mark Pope. And then, but, but,
- 17:30Speaker 1: but yeah, laid back. I do. I wish Mark Pope
- 17:34Speaker 1: was more intense. Well, this is a new Mark Pope.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Maybe he is this year. Maybe he is. So I just,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I don't want the laid back Mark Pope. I just,
- 17:45Speaker 1: I want a little, maybe not the constant yeller. Cause
- 17:48Speaker 1: you're right. The yelling does get old. I mean, Bob Knight,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I don't know how players played for him. I couldn't move.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I couldn't have either. I mean, the constant yelling and
- 17:59Speaker 1: barrage of just who knows how many insults, but I
- 18:03Speaker 1: couldn't do it. All right. Like the Connecticut coach, Hurley,
- 18:07Speaker 1: Danny Hurley. I don't think I could play for him. No.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Because he's got to be the biggest yeller out there
- 18:13Speaker 1: right now, isn't he? Especially towards officials. Yeah. By the way,
- 18:16Speaker 1: do you see that Halloween decoration? Which one? Up in
- 18:19Speaker 1: the Northeast with Dan Hurley. No.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody remade the– remember when he head-butted the official
- 18:27Speaker 2: last year?
- 18:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Oh, yes.
- 18:28Speaker 2: It got all up in his face. So, yeah, somebody
- 18:31Speaker 2: remade that in their yard.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? They have to be Connecticut fans,
- 18:36Speaker 1: don't they? I don't know. Or they could be Hurley haters.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But he meant nothing by it, though, didn't he? Oh,
- 18:45Speaker 1: we're good friends. Exactly. It was just a friendly tap. Exactly.
- 18:49Speaker 1: That was so weird when he did that. He's an oddball.
- 18:54Speaker 1: That's probably the nicest thing I could say about him.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I still go back and think, man, I'm glad we didn't.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I don't want an oddball at UK. We had Billy
- 19:04Speaker 1: Gillespie for long enough. Could Hurley be successful at UK? Yeah,
- 19:09Speaker 1: but I just don't want the baggage that comes with him. Yeah, exactly.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Somebody was asking me yesterday, if the opportunity came up
- 19:17Speaker 1: for a new coach to come to UK, who would
- 19:20Speaker 1: I want to hire? And? Is there anybody you can
- 19:25Speaker 1: think of you would want to hire? Think about it
- 19:27Speaker 1: for a minute. I said Billy Donovan. But then we
- 19:30Speaker 1: had the debate, has Billy Donovan been away from college
- 19:35Speaker 1: too long to where, Can he get back down and
- 19:38Speaker 1: relate to college-age players?
- 19:41Speaker 2: Or better yet, attack it the way it needs to
- 19:43Speaker 2: be attacked these days because it's so much different than.
- 19:46Speaker 1: When he was there when he was at Florida. Yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I mean, give him... him credit. He won two national
- 19:52Speaker 1: titles at Florida, and nobody ever thought it could be
- 19:54Speaker 1: done at Florida. I mean, he had Noah, I mean,
- 19:59Speaker 1: who was a great player, but he had him two
- 20:01Speaker 1: years in a row. So, who would you hire? Do
- 20:06Speaker 1: you think Billy Donovan can do it? I wouldn't want Donovan.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I think time's passed him up. Do you really? Okay.
- 20:13Speaker 2: And that's, that's the case with a lot of the
- 20:15Speaker 2: coaches now. Like there's not back in the day, like
- 20:18Speaker 2: in the early two thousands, if you were to let
- 20:20Speaker 2: go of a coach, I feel like there was a
- 20:22Speaker 2: lot more options than there are now.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Yeah. There's a bunch of unproven guys now. Well, and
- 20:27Speaker 1: maybe it's somebody we don't know who it is. Cause
- 20:29Speaker 1: you know, now UK for football has hired. Everybody says, well,
- 20:34Speaker 1: it's gotta be a head coach. No, it doesn't have
- 20:36Speaker 1: to be a head coach. Look at what, Mark Stoops
- 20:39Speaker 1: did for a time. And then look what Will Stein
- 20:43Speaker 1: is doing right now. Neither of them had any head
- 20:45Speaker 1: coaching experience. And I'm like, well, why can't we do
- 20:48Speaker 1: the same thing with basketball? So, anyway, we got to
- 20:51Speaker 1: take our first break. 502-384-1450. You want to call in 502-414-1450.
- 20:55Speaker 1: You want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Or you can tweet me at JustTheCatRadio. Stay right there.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We got more Just The Cats coming right up. We'll
- 21:05Speaker 1: be right back. Hey, we're going full out grunge today.
- 21:49Speaker 1: My gosh. Yeah, you sent me the song you sent me. Oh,
- 21:52Speaker 1: come on. I don't know what to do. That is
- 21:54Speaker 1: not grunge. We're going hard today. That's heavy metal that
- 21:57Speaker 1: I sent you today. And I was very proud of that.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And I don't have any problem with it. And you're
- 22:01Speaker 1: criticizing me for that song. I'm not criticizing. I'm just.
- 22:05Speaker 2: When you send me the song that you did this morning,
- 22:08Speaker 2: or a song similar, I just never know how to
- 22:10Speaker 2: branch off that.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Oh, really? Okay, well. Oh, yeah, we're going hard. That's
- 22:14Speaker 1: more of a grunge song you just sent me. But anyway,
- 22:18Speaker 1: and I sent you, well, you don't have to ask
- 22:20Speaker 1: me to send you a song, and I won't, but
- 22:22Speaker 1: I did. Okay. But I enjoy that. I appreciate the
- 22:25Speaker 1: fact that you asked me to send you a song,
- 22:27Speaker 1: and you kind of go off on that. So, Mr. Illinois,
- 22:31Speaker 1: does Mr. Illinois live in Louisville, by the way? I assume.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I have no idea. I would like to know if
- 22:37Speaker 1: you live in Louisville and if you're from Illinois. Maybe
- 22:41Speaker 1: he doesn't want you to know that. Okay, that's fair.
- 22:44Speaker 1: He said, well, well, well, fellas, day three of cold
- 22:47Speaker 1: brew has gone exactly how you expected. I'll save you
- 22:50Speaker 1: the details. But long story short, the custodial staff walked
- 22:54Speaker 1: into the restroom with hazmat suits. It says sweets, but
- 22:58Speaker 1: I know you mean suits. But this morning, once I
- 23:02Speaker 1: was finished, happy hump day. So there you go. Good
- 23:06Speaker 1: for you, Illinois texter. Yeah. By the way, it's S-U-I-T-S.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Don't give me a hard time. That is my OCD
- 23:15Speaker 1: coming out right there. What, he put an E at
- 23:17Speaker 1: the end? Yeah, he did. Yeah. And it says sweets. Sweets. Yeah.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I'd love a hazmat sweet. But no. Thank you for
- 23:24Speaker 1: letting me know. By the way, speaking of what he
- 23:27Speaker 1: just did this morning, Winnie the Pooh. Yeah. Turned 100 today. Wow.
- 23:33Speaker 1: How do you like that? Winnie the Pooh. Were you
- 23:35Speaker 1: a Winnie the Pooh fan?
- 23:38Speaker 2: I mean, I watched it from time to time, but
- 23:40Speaker 2: it wasn't like one of my favorites.
- 23:42Speaker 1: What was your favorite? I was a Hey Arnold kid.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Hey Arnold. Really? Okay. Loved Hey Arnold. Yeah, I was
- 23:49Speaker 1: a Bugs Bunny guy. Also, I watched Arthur, too. I
- 23:52Speaker 1: liked Arthur when I was a kid. Oh, did you?
- 23:53Speaker 1: And I didn't know this until yesterday. Uh-huh. Hey Arnold
- 23:57Speaker 1: and Arthur premiered on the exact same day. Really? Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Pretty cool, right? That's wild. Yeah. No, I mean, my
- 24:04Speaker 1: youngest son was Bob the Builder, and then Max and Mason,
- 24:07Speaker 1: for that fact, were the one that you didn't like. SpongeBob,
- 24:09Speaker 1: which I loved. Did either of them watch Rocket Power?
- 24:13Speaker 1: Not that I know of. Rocket Power was awesome. Oh, really? Okay.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And Doug. Did they watch Doug? They watched Doug. Doug
- 24:19Speaker 1: was good. Yeah. But I don't remember all the other
- 24:22Speaker 1: ones that they, oh, Teletubbies. God, that was so weird.
- 24:26Speaker 1: That's a horrible show. Oh, yeah. Winky winky. It was
- 24:30Speaker 1: just weird. I mean, I always felt like the producers
- 24:33Speaker 1: and the actors in that show were always on drugs.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I mean, they had to be on something. That was
- 24:38Speaker 1: just a bizarre show. Yeah. Michael, I said, and this
- 24:44Speaker 1: is from John. I said this to Justin this morning.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I prefer fall, uh, in winter over the spring and
- 24:50Speaker 1: summer based on all the sports going on. We can't
- 24:53Speaker 1: be friends, Sean, just to let you know. I knew
- 24:55Speaker 1: that was coming. Yeah. Sorry. Um, And based on all
- 25:01Speaker 1: the sports going on, all the holidays coming up, and
- 25:04Speaker 1: the food that is made during those holidays. Plus, a
- 25:07Speaker 1: good bowl of chili is better in the fall or winter. So,
- 25:11Speaker 1: between winter, summer, spring, and fall, which do you call
- 25:14Speaker 1: the best of all? Ooh, I like that little rhyme
- 25:16Speaker 1: right there. Take it easy, Dr. Seuss. Yeah. Well, mine's easy,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and I think everybody pretty much knows what mine is.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Mine's spring, summer. And I would rather have summer all
- 25:26Speaker 1: year long. Same. Would you really? Yeah. I fall like
- 25:31Speaker 1: right now. I got a little nasal drip. I'm a
- 25:34Speaker 1: little bit congested. I don't feel great. It's because of
- 25:38Speaker 1: the fall winter. I don't like cold. I mean, I
- 25:43Speaker 1: am always cold anyway. And it's just like, no, I
- 25:46Speaker 1: can't do that. Are you the same way or no? Yeah.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I mean, it's, It doesn't really matter to me. Allergies
- 25:52Speaker 2: are going to affect me year round anyway.
- 25:54Speaker 1: So they are.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I don't really concern myself with that. But yeah, I'm
- 25:58Speaker 2: right there with you. Give me spring. Give me summer.
- 25:59Speaker 1: 48 Hanley says, since he's making excuses, I'd like to
- 26:03Speaker 1: hear Kiffin explain how Kentucky beat him two years ago
- 26:06Speaker 1: in Oxford when he had the best team with a
- 26:09Speaker 1: first-round draft picket quarterback. See, I think that's a great question.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I really think Kentucky has become the curse of Lane Kiffin.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I really do. Because that was a team, a Kentucky team,
- 26:24Speaker 1: that should have never beaten Kentucky. Ole Miss. And yet
- 26:30Speaker 1: they did. Now, do I think this Kentucky team should
- 26:35Speaker 1: have beaten LSU this year? Absolutely. Do I think it
- 26:40Speaker 1: would happen nine times out of ten? No. No. But
- 26:42Speaker 1: I think 50% of the time this Kentucky team could
- 26:45Speaker 1: beat that LSU team. Maybe a little more. No, I agree.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I think if they played 100 games, each team would
- 26:52Speaker 2: win 50.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm convinced. Yeah. Uh, one person said my favorite was fog, horn, leg, horn, son.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I say, son, I get that. You don't get that.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Do you? I don't. Yeah. That's an old, old cartoon
- 27:05Speaker 1: from 48 handily. So yeah. Thank you about that. Uh,
- 27:08Speaker 1: Josh texted out, uh, good morning. I need the Dodgers
- 27:12Speaker 1: to get it together because I can't stomach the Brewers
- 27:15Speaker 1: winning a world series. I lost, uh, Dave Roberts is
- 27:19Speaker 1: still the manager of the Dodgers. So them being down
- 27:22Speaker 1: to it was not surprising. Oh, come on now, Josh.
- 27:26Speaker 1: How many World Series do y'all want to win? Let's
- 27:29Speaker 1: let somebody else win one. Exactly. And it's not going
- 27:32Speaker 1: to be the Brewers. I really feel like this is
- 27:35Speaker 1: the American League. So, yes, we'll talk about it right now.
- 27:39Speaker 1: The Dodgers are surprisingly down 2-0 to the Brewers, which
- 27:44Speaker 1: I never saw coming. I thought it would be a
- 27:46Speaker 1: pretty easy National League Championship Series for the Dodgers, but...
- 27:51Speaker 1: It's it's it's the odds are against that them that
- 27:55Speaker 1: they're going to come back and win. Now, thank goodness.
- 27:59Speaker 1: My raise one last night. And it wasn't necessarily because
- 28:06Speaker 1: of the rate. Well, I mean, it was because of
- 28:08Speaker 1: the raise. But man, did you see Jose Ramirez, the
- 28:11Speaker 1: third baseman? Yeah, not good. wow how surprising was that that.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Was i mean i didn't i wasn't watching at that
- 28:20Speaker 2: time i was listening via radio so you were i
- 28:22Speaker 2: didn't get to see it but jose ramirez is a
- 28:25Speaker 2: guy that doesn't make a lot of errors.
- 28:27Speaker 1: No and it went right it was like watching little
- 28:30Speaker 1: league it went right through his legs yeah.
- 28:33Speaker 2: That's they did a great job of explaining it on
- 28:36Speaker 2: the radio exactly what happened so i feel like i
- 28:38Speaker 2: didn't watch it because yeah they were Well, you had
- 28:40Speaker 2: Eduardo Perez on the call. And so he was talking
- 28:43Speaker 2: about how he just stayed flat footed and he was
- 28:45Speaker 2: trying to bend down and get the ball. And he
- 28:46Speaker 2: was like, every time. If you're flat-footed and you're not
- 28:50Speaker 2: on your toes, the bottom half of your body is
- 28:52Speaker 2: going to control the top half. And that's what happened
- 28:54Speaker 2: on that play. Oh, so he jerked up. And that
- 28:57Speaker 2: is a great description. Because, you know, you get a
- 29:00Speaker 2: ball hit to you that way. There's a lot of
- 29:02Speaker 2: forward spin. And you can't anticipate it. Man, I remember
- 29:07Speaker 2: in high school catching those kind of balls. But, yeah,
- 29:10Speaker 2: that was a crazy play. And thank goodness now they're
- 29:13Speaker 2: tied in the series and headed. Which team are they playing?
- 29:16Speaker 2: They're playing the Indians. whatever yeah they're playing cleveland.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Did you get nervous at any point last night i've
- 29:22Speaker 1: been nervous the entire time absolutely yeah.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I don't think i would have as a race really
- 29:28Speaker 2: no maybe when cleveland got that run in the seventh
- 29:31Speaker 2: maybe i would have been a little bit nervous but
- 29:33Speaker 2: i don't know that felt like a game actually both
- 29:36Speaker 2: of these games have felt like they should have been
- 29:38Speaker 2: raised wins i'll they were very similar. You just didn't
- 29:41Speaker 2: allow Cleveland to score crazy amounts in the last four
- 29:45Speaker 2: innings like game one.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Well, it's fun right now because you got that going on.
- 29:49Speaker 1: You got the World Series coming up after that. You
- 29:51Speaker 1: got basketball starting Friday night. We'll talk more about that
- 29:54Speaker 1: later in the week. Because UK plays Friday night. I'm
- 29:57Speaker 1: going to the game. I'm looking forward to it. Granted,
- 29:59Speaker 1: it's an exhibition. But still, it's basketball. We're getting closer
- 30:03Speaker 1: and closer to when the start of the season is.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I'm excited to see what's going to happen. Have you
- 30:07Speaker 1: seen who Kansas is playing in their exhibitions? No, I
- 30:10Speaker 1: did not. So, they're playing Pittsburgh State, which no big
- 30:13Speaker 1: deal there. Right.
- 30:15Speaker 2: But then they play in back-to-back games Louisville and Duke. Wow,
- 30:20Speaker 2: that's great. In the exhibition. See, I love that. Why
- 30:24Speaker 2: not play some of the toughest teams out there? Because
- 30:27Speaker 2: it doesn't mean anything. So get some really tough games in.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So credit to Kansas for doing that. You don't like that?
- 30:34Speaker 1: No, I'm fine with it. No, it's great.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I actually love that because it gives us high quality
- 30:39Speaker 2: basketball before the season even starts.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Right. Granted, it's an exhibition game. Just like with NFL,
- 30:46Speaker 1: they have exhibition games, but. you're seeing the real team
- 30:51Speaker 1: for what half of a first quarter. Well, it depends
- 30:53Speaker 1: on what time of the exhibition season is, but you're
- 30:56Speaker 1: seeing half the team play in the first quarter and
- 30:59Speaker 1: that's it. And that's it. Yeah. And then same thing
- 31:03Speaker 1: goes with NBA. Do you like that? Or do you
- 31:05Speaker 1: wish they would play the players out there? Because I
- 31:09Speaker 1: understand you got to play the, the players that are
- 31:12Speaker 1: trying to play in onto the roster. Especially with the NFL.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I mean, football is such an inherently dangerous game that
- 31:19Speaker 2: you don't want your starters out there for three preseason games.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I mean, three probably seems like too many. I don't
- 31:24Speaker 2: know the exact number of preseason games the NBA plays,
- 31:27Speaker 2: but in all likelihood, it's too many as well. So
- 31:31Speaker 2: they just need to shorten the preseason.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Mr. Illinois said he is from Illinois and
- 31:38Speaker 1: has lived in Louisville since 2017. I mean, it's becoming
- 31:41Speaker 1: home now, isn't it? How long before you call a
- 31:44Speaker 1: home when you've lived in a different place? How long
- 31:47Speaker 1: does it take? How many years?
- 31:50Speaker 2: I mean, I lived in Jacksonville for five, six years.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't call it home yet. I never got
- 31:57Speaker 1: to a point where I called it home. I think
- 31:59Speaker 1: once you've lived in a city for 10 years or more,
- 32:02Speaker 1: then you start calling it home. Probably so. Yeah. If
- 32:06Speaker 1: it's more than 10 years, it's becoming. I don't know,
- 32:09Speaker 1: but isn't home always home? Home is where the heart is.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Like, even if I lived, say I lived in Jacksonville,
- 32:17Speaker 2: say I was still living up there. I'd been there, what, 13,
- 32:20Speaker 2: 14 years at this point?
- 32:21Speaker 1: Yeah. I'd still consider this home. Okay. I understand what
- 32:24Speaker 1: you're saying. Yeah. So, yeah, your home is where you
- 32:28Speaker 1: were raised, and the other place is where you live. Yeah.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Is that how you describe it? Exactly. Yeah.
- 32:34Speaker 2: So an Illinois texter would probably say his home is Illinois.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Although my mom and dad called Louisville home even though
- 32:40Speaker 1: they were born and raised in Nashville. They made Louisville home.
- 32:44Speaker 1: And they loved it here. They had choices several times
- 32:48Speaker 1: to move back to Nashville or move back to Louisville.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And they moved back to Louisville. I was glad they
- 32:53Speaker 1: did because it's my home. But anyway. All right. We
- 32:57Speaker 1: got to take another break. 502-384-1450. A little slow today,
- 33:00Speaker 1: but I appreciate you texting. If we need to talk
- 33:04Speaker 1: about crazy movies, I'll talk about that. If that's what
- 33:07Speaker 1: everybody wants to talk about, that's good. Gosh, I mean,
- 33:10Speaker 1: it was funny how just boom, everything goes crazy when
- 33:14Speaker 1: you're talking about movies. And boobs. Thanks. Grow up, Michael.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I didn't say it. Grow up. I didn't say it.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Why are you accusing me of this? Anyway, 502-414-1450 on
- 33:29Speaker 1: the Whiskey Thief text line. Stay right there. More Just
- 33:31Speaker 1: Guys coming up. See, that's just good Southern rock right there.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I love Molly Hatchett. Good call right there. Played this
- 34:31Speaker 1: song for LSU. Oh, really? Yeah. Why? Flirting with disaster.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Flirting with disaster. Yes. That's a great call right there.
- 34:38Speaker 1: All right. So let's talk about Will Stein for a minute.
- 34:41Speaker 1: He made the comment yesterday that it's interesting that every
- 34:44Speaker 1: team UK beats all of a sudden becomes a bad
- 34:47Speaker 1: football team. That is so true. I mean, nobody wants
- 34:52Speaker 1: to give credit that UK is actually a really good team,
- 34:56Speaker 1: that the team they played was really bad. Texas A
- 34:59Speaker 1: & M, South Carolina, and now LSU. Welcome to my world. Oh,
- 35:04Speaker 1: they're all bad team. Well, that, you know, you know what?
- 35:07Speaker 1: That is fair to say. So what I've heard for
- 35:10Speaker 1: three straight years. Yeah. Well, football has been down. So,
- 35:14Speaker 1: and now you, and the reason is that's why you,
- 35:18Speaker 1: I use so good. So now It continues because that's
- 35:20Speaker 1: why UK is so good. Yeah, the football powers out
- 35:26Speaker 1: there don't want to admit that lowly, potentially basketball schools
- 35:31Speaker 1: can actually win at their sport. It's true. And now
- 35:35Speaker 1: it is funny. It would make me happy if there
- 35:37Speaker 1: were more powerhouses that are historically basketball schools that start
- 35:42Speaker 1: winning really well at it. Wouldn't that be fun? It
- 35:45Speaker 1: would be fun. I mean, aren't we starting to see
- 35:48Speaker 1: that already, though? Well, besides IU and UK, who else
- 35:52Speaker 1: is there? UCLA. That's right.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Yeah. We'll never have Kansas in this sentence ever. So
- 36:01Speaker 2: don't worry about that. You don't think so?
- 36:02Speaker 1: Oh, God, no. They're so bad. I mean, what is
- 36:06Speaker 1: it with UK? Is it just Will Stein? Is his
- 36:10Speaker 1: comment before the season started because of me? Or is
- 36:13Speaker 1: there more to it? I mean, he did design a
- 36:16Speaker 1: pretty good team together. I think that's it.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I mean, if you have a guy at the top,
- 36:21Speaker 2: and I can speak from experience, who's confident in his abilities,
- 36:25Speaker 2: that's going to trickle down to your team and your
- 36:28Speaker 2: players and your other members of the coaching staff. That's
- 36:32Speaker 2: all just like a trickle-down effect from Will Stein. So, yes,
- 36:34Speaker 2: I would say it is Will Stein.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's part of it. I mean, I
- 36:39Speaker 1: give him a good portion of the credit, but you
- 36:41Speaker 1: got to give the coaching staff under him a lot
- 36:44Speaker 1: of credit as well. You got to get the players
- 36:47Speaker 1: that came here believing in this coaching staff. It still
- 36:52Speaker 1: blows my mind to get on social media and see
- 36:56Speaker 1: all the stuff that's being written about UK. and all
- 36:59Speaker 1: the national media members that are now buying in on UK,
- 37:04Speaker 1: even though they wanted to vote him out of the
- 37:05Speaker 1: AP Top 25 a week ago. It's like, oh, now
- 37:09Speaker 1: you're here to talk. And I'm going to tell you
- 37:11Speaker 1: right now, that was the best $ 500, 000 that UK has
- 37:17Speaker 1: ever spent, allowing the fans to go on the field.
- 37:20Speaker 1: And I'm so thankful J-Bat allowed that to happen. Oh,
- 37:24Speaker 1: you really probably couldn't have stopped it realistically, right? I
- 37:27Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, can you stop a crowd from
- 37:31Speaker 1: running on the field?
- 37:32Speaker 2: And you can try, but you're probably not going to
- 37:34Speaker 2: have a lot of success when you're outnumbered the way
- 37:36Speaker 2: he is.
- 37:37Speaker 1: But I've seen more pictures on social media of. commonwealth
- 37:41Speaker 1: stadium with all the fans in the middle of the
- 37:43Speaker 1: field and i'm telling you i think that has been
- 37:46Speaker 1: the best marketing ever yeah for uk so i'm telling
- 37:51Speaker 1: you yeah i know a couple of people were uh
- 37:54Speaker 1: criticizing the uh the money that uk spent but you
- 37:58Speaker 1: can't buy this kind of publicity did you.
- 38:01Speaker 2: See the uh the picture between the dad and the
- 38:03Speaker 2: daughter Who remade their picture from 2007?
- 38:08Speaker 1: No, really? So, yeah, somebody sent that in on the
- 38:10Speaker 1: text line this morning. That's really cool. I'll see if
- 38:12Speaker 1: I can pull it up and show you. I've got
- 38:14Speaker 1: to see that. Yeah, it's awesome.
- 38:16Speaker 2: So the dad's, like, laying on the field and the
- 38:18Speaker 2: daughter's sitting beside him.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Oh, wow. They remade it. It is really cool. Did
- 38:22Speaker 1: they pre-plan that before the game? I would say so. Really? Yeah,
- 38:27Speaker 1: because I would have loved to have done that with
- 38:29Speaker 1: my family, but, you know... My family's gone. I mean,
- 38:33Speaker 1: there are ones in Nashville, ones up in New York City,
- 38:37Speaker 1: and my wife didn't go anymore. She's like, well, the
- 38:39Speaker 1: boys aren't here, so I'm not going. And she's not
- 38:42Speaker 1: a UK– not really a UK fan. She roots for
- 38:45Speaker 1: me just because she knows what I do, but she's
- 38:47Speaker 1: a Vanderbilt fan.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I think it probably was pre-planned just because he had–
- 38:51Speaker 2: a pom-pom in the remake, or he had a pom-pom
- 38:54Speaker 2: in the original and then a pom-pom in the remake.
- 38:57Speaker 1: I love that. And where are you getting a pom-pom
- 38:59Speaker 1: after the game, you know? So I think it probably
- 39:01Speaker 1: was pre-play. Listen, I love the usage of pom-poms. They
- 39:04Speaker 1: used to give them out at UK games, and I
- 39:06Speaker 1: just love that. Nobody really utilizes pom-poms. Pom-poms are pennants.
- 39:12Speaker 1: You don't see many pennants anymore. No, you don't. And
- 39:14Speaker 1: I miss those kind of things. But, yeah, I think
- 39:18Speaker 1: when UK hands those out, it's so much fun. It
- 39:21Speaker 1: would be kind of cool. Instead of doing the whole
- 39:24Speaker 1: one section blue, one section is white, do that with
- 39:27Speaker 1: pom poms. One section of blue pom poms. The next
- 39:29Speaker 1: session with white pom poms. That would be pretty cool.
- 39:32Speaker 1: A lot of money. Yeah, but UK is making the
- 39:35Speaker 1: money right now. They got it.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Also didn't realize till this morning how much the word
- 39:39Speaker 2: pom pom irks me.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Oh, it does? Pom-pom? That kind of makes me uncomfortable.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I can understand. Oh, by the way, I meant to
- 39:46Speaker 1: bring this up earlier with you. All right.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Remember how, maybe this was a couple weeks ago, but
- 39:50Speaker 2: we were talking about sounds that get under our skin?
- 39:53Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I got a new one. Oh, you do?
- 39:55Speaker 2: I got a new one that I've experienced a couple
- 39:58Speaker 2: times the last few days. Drives me absolutely nuts.
- 40:01Speaker 1: All right.
- 40:01Speaker 2: When you're driving down the road, and it's nice out
- 40:04Speaker 2: like it was this morning, 71 degrees when I'm driving in,
- 40:07Speaker 2: so I got the window down, and a semi drives
- 40:10Speaker 2: by you. That is one of the most annoying sounds
- 40:14Speaker 2: I can hear.
- 40:14Speaker 1: In my entire life. Annoying?
- 40:16Speaker 2: Yes, because it drowns out my music every single time.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Oh.
- 40:20Speaker 2: And I got to, like, crank my radio up just
- 40:22Speaker 2: so I can hear what they're singing.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:24Speaker 2: I hate the sound of semis coming by me with
- 40:27Speaker 2: my window open.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Really? All right. When somebody gets... You know, we're talking
- 40:31Speaker 1: about people getting pulled over. Mm-hmm. Are you... Do you
- 40:36Speaker 1: feel bad for them, or do you... Like... My uncle's
- 40:39Speaker 1: son was saying, oh, that's so awesome when that happens.
- 40:42Speaker 1: They got pulled over, and I'm driving off. I'm like, Mason,
- 40:45Speaker 1: that's really mean.
- 40:47Speaker 2: No, that's the same thing I said yesterday.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. I love when people get pulled over. I
- 40:51Speaker 1: think it's hilarious. Okay. Just follow the rules of the road,
- 40:54Speaker 1: and that won't happen. All right, then. There you go.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Couldn't tell you last time I got pulled over. Diesel truck. No,
- 40:59Speaker 1: I'll tell you the other sound that people's brakes when
- 41:02Speaker 1: they're squeaky. Oh, yeah. I think that's the worst sound.
- 41:06Speaker 1: It's like, come on. Yeah. Or a belt, a squeaking belt. Yeah,
- 41:10Speaker 1: that's another one. Huh. Okay.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it just came to me when I was driving
- 41:15Speaker 2: home last night. I was like, I hate this sound.
- 41:17Speaker 1: 48 Handley said, Dave Roberts stole second base when he
- 41:21Speaker 1: was playing for the Red Sox against the Yankees with
- 41:24Speaker 1: the season on the line. One of the great clutch
- 41:26Speaker 1: plays in baseball. I don't remember that, but that's pretty cool.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I'm kind of a fan of his. I like Dave.
- 41:34Speaker 1: I don't like the Dodgers, but I like him. The
- 41:36Speaker 1: funniest Christmas movie and one that Scoots must see is
- 41:41Speaker 1: Four Christmases. I haven't seen Four Christmases. I'd have to
- 41:44Speaker 1: say I've never seen that one either. By the way...
- 41:46Speaker 1: I know that's one of TJ Walker's favorites. Oh, it is?
- 41:48Speaker 1: Four Christmases? Who's in it? I couldn't tell you. Okay.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I'm not familiar with the movie. Mine is probably between
- 41:55Speaker 1: Elf and... What's the other one? Christmas Vacation. Cousin Eddie...
- 42:03Speaker 1: Is the funniest character to me in any Christmas movie.
- 42:07Speaker 1: I love that one. Holy moly. Four Christmases is loaded. Oh,
- 42:10Speaker 1: it is?
- 42:11Speaker 2: Got Vince Vaughn, Tim McGraw, Jon Favreau, Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Chenoweth.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you lost me. Dwight Yoakam. Yeah. Okay. That's good
- 42:20Speaker 1: for them. Okay. Have you noticed that Christmas movies are
- 42:23Speaker 1: kind of quietly coming out now? Are they? Yeah. I
- 42:27Speaker 1: haven't seen them. Drives me nuts. It's like, let's get
- 42:29Speaker 1: through Thanksgiving. Halloween first. At least Halloween. Yeah, at the
- 42:34Speaker 1: very least. One person said, I love the fact that
- 42:37Speaker 1: Will Stein recognizes that there is no respect. He's right.
- 42:43Speaker 1: There is absolutely zero respect for UK. Because I would
- 42:48Speaker 1: be willing to bet money if UK loses Saturday, they're
- 42:52Speaker 1: out of the top 25. I would say not. Really?
- 42:56Speaker 2: Not on the road at Oklahoma, a team who just
- 42:59Speaker 2: beat the number one team in the country.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 2: You're not going to drop 11 spots. Well, they came
- 43:05Speaker 2: in 11 spots.
- 43:06Speaker 1: But you're right. And they should have been in the
- 43:08Speaker 1: entire time. They should have been around 21, 22 last week.
- 43:11Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what you want.
- 43:12Speaker 2: They got more points that week than they did the
- 43:15Speaker 2: week before. They got knocked out. It was a product
- 43:18Speaker 2: of what happened around them. But if I can give
- 43:20Speaker 2: you all just any advice... Get used to the disrespect
- 43:23Speaker 2: now because it's not changing. Even if you have two
- 43:26Speaker 2: and a half really good years under Will Stein, you're
- 43:30Speaker 2: still going to be disrespected because you're Kentucky.
- 43:32Speaker 1: So, in other words, you think IU is continuing to
- 43:35Speaker 1: get disrespected? Absolutely. All right.
- 43:37Speaker 2: The amount of text I get on our text line
- 43:39Speaker 2: that are, Indiana sucks, y'all ain't beating, blah, blah, blah. Yeah,
- 43:42Speaker 2: it's not going to end ever.
- 43:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, the problem is that IU really hadn't played
- 43:46Speaker 1: anybody yet. Yeah, they played Nebraska.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Nebraska and Northwestern are both way better than people. Northwestern,
- 43:53Speaker 2: I would agree with that. Now, I think the true
- 43:54Speaker 2: test is going to be this weekend. And that game
- 43:56Speaker 2: is where? Columbus or in Bloomington?
- 43:58Speaker 1: In Bloomington. Okay, thank goodness it's in Bloomington. I think
- 44:01Speaker 1: that'll be an advantage for y'all.
- 44:02Speaker 2: This used to be our picture day. When Ohio State
- 44:06Speaker 2: would come in because back in the day.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Oh, I remember that. Yes. What a great story that is.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Go ahead and tell it.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So that was the only time we would ever fill
- 44:14Speaker 2: up the stadium. So they would plan the overhead shot
- 44:17Speaker 2: when Ohio State came. And I'll never forget. I think
- 44:20Speaker 2: it was my junior year.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 44:21Speaker 2: When Ohio State caught wind of that and they all
- 44:24Speaker 2: showed up wearing gray.
- 44:25Speaker 1: It was awesome. That's a great story. I love that.
- 44:32Speaker 1: The overhead shots they had this weekend with Commonwealth Stadium
- 44:35Speaker 1: were just fantastic shots that I dearly love. Yeah, it
- 44:42Speaker 1: probably will never stop the disrespect. You're right. The teams
- 44:48Speaker 1: that are the most respected are the teams that have
- 44:52Speaker 1: always been there. Alabama, Georgia. Ohio State. Ohio State, Michigan.
- 44:59Speaker 2: I think Michigan's respect has gone down. Just because of
- 45:03Speaker 2: all the things they've dealt with the last few years.
- 45:05Speaker 1: But I tell you, if they come back next year,
- 45:07Speaker 1: it'll be right back up there. I guarantee you they'll
- 45:10Speaker 1: be ranked in the top 15. Texas is always in there.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Oklahoma is always in there. I think that's gone away, too.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Do you really? The Oklahoma. Oregon is always in there. Oregon, yeah,
- 45:23Speaker 1: for sure. And see, Clemson was always in there, but before,
- 45:28Speaker 1: back in the 90s, they weren't thought of as a
- 45:31Speaker 1: historically successful football program. Say Miami, another one. Miami's another one.
- 45:38Speaker 1: That's another really good one right there. So, yeah. Anyway,
- 45:42Speaker 1: let's get to this last one before we have to
- 45:43Speaker 1: take a break. UK football is because of Will Stein.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Starts at the top, yes, but... he's put the best
- 45:50Speaker 1: staff for his system and more importantly the right mindset
- 45:55Speaker 1: to put everyone involved in a successful situation the confidence
- 45:59Speaker 1: is strong and it's a trickle down effect contrast to
- 46:02Speaker 1: Pope God love him who's timid as hell and just
- 46:07Speaker 1: meh so there you go that's from Josh there you
- 46:11Speaker 1: go I kind of feel the same way like a
- 46:13Speaker 1: lot of Kentucky fans, too. Yeah, they do. I feel
- 46:17Speaker 1: like somewhat it's kind of taking some pressure off Mark Pope,
- 46:20Speaker 1: but on the other hand, the closer we get to
- 46:22Speaker 1: basketball season, the more I think it's putting pressure on him.
- 46:26Speaker 1: You've got to succeed. Otherwise, this program, the fan base
- 46:29Speaker 1: is not going to want him around. All right, we've
- 46:33Speaker 1: got to take a break. Hour 2 coming right up.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Stay right there. This is just a cap. Welcome to
- 46:41Speaker 1: Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. All right, now we're
- 47:06Speaker 1: number two on this Wednesday. And it was absolutely... I
- 47:10Speaker 1: don't know if you saw it or not, but the...
- 47:13Speaker 1: sunrise was beautiful it was kind of a mixture of
- 47:15Speaker 1: some clouds up there it was orange uh kind of
- 47:17Speaker 1: an orangey red.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Yeah i don't know if you know this but i
- 47:20Speaker 2: do a show called sunrise with scoots so i'm typically
- 47:22Speaker 2: in studio and don't get to see the sun yeah
- 47:24Speaker 2: but thanks for passing.
- 47:25Speaker 1: I didn't know i didn't know if it'd gotten up
- 47:28Speaker 1: uh before you got into the studio no you can
- 47:30Speaker 1: be a jerk all you.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Want it did it used to in the middle of
- 47:33Speaker 2: the summer i could see the sunrise when i'm driving
- 47:35Speaker 2: but now it's just dark but.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Can i ask a question and if somebody knows out
- 47:39Speaker 1: there would you please text me When you look on
- 47:41Speaker 1: a national map, whenever they're doing the weather on national TV,
- 47:47Speaker 1: and whomever the meteorologist is that's doing it, when they
- 47:51Speaker 1: show Kentucky, they always show Lexington. Why is it that
- 47:56Speaker 1: they show Lexington when Louisville is actually the biggest city
- 48:00Speaker 1: in the state?
- 48:01Speaker 2: Well, not only that, but Frankfurt, which is just a
- 48:04Speaker 2: hop and a skip away, is the capital.
- 48:06Speaker 1: So why do they show Lexington and not Louisville?
- 48:11Speaker 2: Everybody probably associates Lexington with Kentucky.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Do they really? Why do they associate? I would think
- 48:17Speaker 1: the one city that people associate Kentucky with is Louisville,
- 48:22Speaker 1: where the Kentucky Derby is. They don't associate Lexington. Why
- 48:26Speaker 1: do you think Lexington? Because of Kentucky. Oh, for UK. Yeah. Hmm.
- 48:33Speaker 2: I mean, they've been in the spotlight with sports for
- 48:35Speaker 2: how many years now?
- 48:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's University of Kentucky. It doesn't say University
- 48:39Speaker 1: of Lexington, where Louisville is a pretty well-known school, and
- 48:43Speaker 1: it's University of Louisville. I don't know. It's always kind
- 48:46Speaker 1: of irked me that when I go travel somewhere and
- 48:49Speaker 1: they're showing the weather, it always says Lexington and not Louisville.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Isn't that the dumbest thing to let irk you? It is.
- 48:57Speaker 1: I know that's dumb, but it's like I want my
- 49:00Speaker 1: hometown promoted. That's what I want. Now, I want UK
- 49:04Speaker 1: promoted over UofL, but I want my hometown out there.
- 49:08Speaker 1: It just always kind of bugged me. All right. Are
- 49:12Speaker 1: you ready for this? I thought this was really funny.
- 49:15Speaker 1: So CJ Baxter, UK's running back, star running back, okay?
- 49:19Speaker 1: And I'd love to know what Oklahoma thinks about this. Uh,
- 49:22Speaker 1: but why Oklahoma or Texas? He played Texas, right? Yeah.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Sorry about that. Uh, so CJ Baxter was on Paul
- 49:29Speaker 1: Feinbaum and he fully admitted that what he likes to
- 49:34Speaker 1: listen to before he goes out onto the field. He said,
- 49:38Speaker 1: I like to relax. Can I guess? Yeah, I want
- 49:42Speaker 1: you to guess. All right, let me finish, though. He
- 49:45Speaker 1: likes to relax before he go hits the field is
- 49:48Speaker 1: exactly what he said. So I want you to guess
- 49:53Speaker 1: what relaxing music you think C.J. Baxter listens to before
- 49:57Speaker 1: he goes plays a football game. I'm going to go
- 50:00Speaker 1: as off the wall as I possibly can.
- 50:02Speaker 2: I'm ready for it. opera no is it like the
- 50:07Speaker 2: massage music.
- 50:09Speaker 1: No no no no you're you're going way off base
- 50:11Speaker 1: it's a popular singer.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Oh a singer yes okay give me a genre or
- 50:18Speaker 2: does that give it away no.
- 50:20Speaker 1: It doesn't necessarily give it away i just don't know
- 50:22Speaker 1: what genre the person is i mean it's it's um
- 50:27Speaker 1: it's not i don't think well yeah this person is
- 50:30Speaker 1: played on the radio but it's it's uh Love type music.
- 50:38Speaker 1: I don't think you call it pop, but maybe you do.
- 50:41Speaker 1: I mean, but it's relaxing. You know, when you're trying
- 50:45Speaker 1: to get with your lady and you play a little
- 50:48Speaker 1: music in the background. And this is the kind of
- 50:50Speaker 1: music that wouldn't be me, but some people would play.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Frank Sinatra? No, you're way too off. All right, you ready?
- 50:57Speaker 1: Because you just can't guess it. And I don't know. Adele. Whoa. Whoa.
- 51:02Speaker 1: So how would you characterize Adele's music? I would say
- 51:07Speaker 1: she's pop. You would? Okay. All right. Fair enough. She's pop.
- 51:11Speaker 1: So I listen. I'm not an Adele fan. But when
- 51:15Speaker 1: I heard him say he likes to listen to Adele
- 51:18Speaker 1: before he goes out in the field to play football,
- 51:21Speaker 1: I was in utter shock. Adele's good. Okay. If you
- 51:27Speaker 1: say so. It wouldn't be... My choice is what to
- 51:29Speaker 1: listen to before an athletic event. No, I'm listening to
- 51:34Speaker 1: fast music that gets me going. It's not soft music
- 51:38Speaker 1: that gets me relaxed. I was always an Afro-man guy
- 51:41Speaker 1: before cross-country races. Yes. That would get me going every time.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Afro-man guy? Oh, yeah. I don't know who Afro-man is.
- 51:49Speaker 1: You don't know who Afro-man is? No, I don't. I've
- 51:52Speaker 1: probably heard his music. I just don't know the name.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Because I Got High? You ever heard that song?
- 51:57Speaker 1: Colt 45? No. Oh, my gosh. I probably would recognize
- 52:01Speaker 1: it if you played it, but I don't remember who
- 52:02Speaker 1: it is.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Unfortunately, I cannot play it on this here station, but
- 52:06Speaker 2: go check it out.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Oh, really? Oh, it's... Oh, he's... The lyrics are a little...
- 52:10Speaker 1: So crass. Oh, really? Okay, that's too bad. But, yeah,
- 52:14Speaker 1: I heard that, and I'm like, really? C.J. Baxter listens
- 52:17Speaker 1: to Adele? Does that not surprise you? We all got
- 52:20Speaker 1: our own thing. I'm not making fun of it, but
- 52:22Speaker 1: it just caught me off guard. I never would have
- 52:25Speaker 1: figured he would be listening to Adele. It's like my
- 52:29Speaker 1: generation would be listening to Air Supply, who I think
- 52:34Speaker 1: is just a horrific band. I know they were popular
- 52:38Speaker 1: back in the day, but it's not me. Back in
- 52:41Speaker 1: the 70s, it would have been probably Barry Manilow. There
- 52:44Speaker 1: you go. Something along that. That's actually the name I
- 52:46Speaker 1: was looking for. Oh, really?
- 52:48Speaker 2: No.
- 52:48Speaker 1: That or some Kenny G. Oh, Kenny G. No, I
- 52:51Speaker 1: can't listen to that. That's just terrible. I mean, who
- 52:54Speaker 1: else was out there? Sing some songs. Don't play me
- 52:57Speaker 1: the freaking flute or whatever. What does he play? Saxophone.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Whatever it is. It's not a saxophone, is it? It's
- 53:03Speaker 1: a long, straight thing. No. Clarinet. Kenny G? Yeah. No,
- 53:09Speaker 1: he is a thousand percent saxophone. Is it? I thought
- 53:11Speaker 1: it was some straight thing that he's playing.
- 53:14Speaker 2: I mean, there's different versions of a saxophone. Yeah, he's
- 53:18Speaker 2: listed as an American saxophonist.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Really? Yeah. Okay. All right. I could have sworn it
- 53:25Speaker 1: was a long, straight instrument. No, you're right. It is,
- 53:27Speaker 1: but I think that's just a different version. Oh, it is? Okay.
- 53:30Speaker 1: I didn't realize there were different versions. No. I mean,
- 53:33Speaker 1: how well-versed in instruments are you? Zero. I can play
- 53:38Speaker 1: a little bit of one instrument. I can play the piano.
- 53:41Speaker 1: You can. And I do not play in front of anybody.
- 53:46Speaker 1: When the house is empty- I'll sit down and start
- 53:48Speaker 1: playing the piano. I'm terrible, but I love it. Oh, yeah.
- 53:52Speaker 1: I wish I knew what I was doing with the piano. Really?
- 53:55Speaker 1: I always thought that'd be a fun instrument to learn.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I always wanted to try and play the guitar. I
- 54:00Speaker 1: was terrible at that. I can play an E. You
- 54:02Speaker 1: can play a what? An E chord on a guitar.
- 54:05Speaker 1: That's about it. Okay. That's wow. That's not even. I
- 54:09Speaker 1: got taught one time. An E chord of all things. Okay. Yeah.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I was taught by a professional person how to play
- 54:17Speaker 1: the guitar. And he's like, Michael, yeah, this is probably
- 54:20Speaker 1: not for you. I mean, that's what he told me.
- 54:22Speaker 1: It's like, thanks a lot. So that was one of
- 54:24Speaker 1: my dad's closest friends that told me that. Anyway, you're
- 54:27Speaker 1: not going to be a professional guitarist. So I just like, okay, thanks.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Are UK revealed their uniforms for the game this weekend?
- 54:36Speaker 1: Are you ready? Yeah. It's going to be black pants,
- 54:40Speaker 1: white jersey, and black matted helmet. Yes. Love it. With
- 54:43Speaker 1: a UK on the side. Love it. People are criticizing
- 54:46Speaker 1: that it's not the power K. What color is the jersey? White.
- 54:50Speaker 1: White with blue lettering. I think that'll look good. You really?
- 54:54Speaker 1: I mean, it's interesting. My only complaint is that black
- 54:59Speaker 1: is not in our colors. Our color scheme is blue
- 55:03Speaker 1: and white. Black's in everyone's coat. I just don't like black.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I've never liked black. I don't own a pair of anything, clothes-wise,
- 55:12Speaker 1: that's black. God, those look so good. Do you like it?
- 55:16Speaker 1: I will say I like the matted black helmet. I
- 55:20Speaker 1: think that's kind of cool. Yeah. I'm a big fan.
- 55:23Speaker 2: I like, and you and I have gone back and
- 55:25Speaker 2: forth on this a number of times, but I like
- 55:27Speaker 2: the black jerseys.
- 55:28Speaker 1: You do? No matter who breaks them. It's not black jerseys.
- 55:31Speaker 1: It's white. Black pants. I like black in the color scheme. Yeah. Okay.
- 55:36Speaker 2: You see that a lot with Louisville. Indiana, the last
- 55:39Speaker 2: couple of years, they've had a basketball jersey that's black
- 55:41Speaker 2: with the red Indiana script on it.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I just think the black looks really good. UofL's part
- 55:47Speaker 1: of their color scheme is black, though. The red and
- 55:49Speaker 1: black and the white. True. UK is blue and white.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I don't know. It's just one of those things. I
- 55:53Speaker 1: know UK wears gray every now and then. I'm not
- 55:56Speaker 1: a fan of that. Would you rather see the gray
- 55:57Speaker 1: than the black? I don't know. Because I like this
- 56:01Speaker 1: black ten times more than I like the gray. Yeah.
- 56:04Speaker 1: I think the gray's ugly. I just don't care for
- 56:06Speaker 1: either one of them. I want blue and white. But,
- 56:09Speaker 1: I mean, listen, it shouldn't be up to me. If
- 56:12Speaker 1: the coaching staff and the players, number one, if the
- 56:15Speaker 1: players like it, by all means wear it. But at
- 56:18Speaker 1: some point, where do you stop with all the colors?
- 56:20Speaker 1: Why don't you just throw a little pink in there?
- 56:22Speaker 1: Why don't you throw some red in there? It's like,
- 56:23Speaker 1: where do you stop with the colors? You stop at black.
- 56:26Speaker 1: You know why they go with black? Because it's intimidating. Oh,
- 56:29Speaker 1: is that what it is?
- 56:30Speaker 2: Yeah. If you throw pink on a jersey, nobody's going
- 56:32Speaker 2: to be intimidated by that.
- 56:33Speaker 1: You think teams really get intimidated, though? I mean, not.
- 56:38Speaker 1: They would never admit it, but I'm sure. Yeah. I
- 56:41Speaker 1: don't know.
- 56:42Speaker 2: I mean, if I see this Kentucky team stepping off
- 56:44Speaker 2: the bus in these uniforms, I'm going to be pretty
- 56:48Speaker 2: intimidated as an Oklahoma player. They look tough.
- 56:51Speaker 1: It's been fun seeing all the different players that are
- 56:54Speaker 1: now considering Kentucky. And I'm talking football, not basketball. It's
- 56:59Speaker 1: never been a surprise to see all the players. that
- 57:01Speaker 1: are considering five stars, that are considering Kentucky for basketball. But,
- 57:05Speaker 1: I mean, it's amazing to see all these players that
- 57:08Speaker 1: are considering. And you see who else they're considering. Oregon,
- 57:11Speaker 1: they're considering Alabama, they're considering Georgia, and they're considering Kentucky.
- 57:15Speaker 1: I literally feel like I'm watching Indiana all over again. And,
- 57:19Speaker 1: you know, I can see that. I see the comparison there.
- 57:22Speaker 1: And it's fair to say that. But the difference is
- 57:27Speaker 1: SEC is a little tougher than the Big Ten. It is.
- 57:29Speaker 1: I was joking with you, but you went ahead and
- 57:31Speaker 1: took it. No, from top to bottom. Well, the other
- 57:33Speaker 1: part is I look at the standings in the SEC,
- 57:37Speaker 1: and you see Kentucky third from the top. You got
- 57:40Speaker 1: Georgia number one, Alabama two, and Kentucky three. It's just
- 57:44Speaker 1: the craziest thing. I cannot get used to it. And
- 57:48Speaker 1: I'm trying to think, well, who's going to lose next
- 57:50Speaker 1: between those three schools? You all. Huh? You all. That's
- 57:55Speaker 1: what I worry about, yeah. Yeah, because it's just not
- 57:58Speaker 1: getting tough easier.
- 57:59Speaker 2: But, I mean, if you find a way to win
- 58:01Speaker 2: this week, you look at those standings again, you're sitting
- 58:04Speaker 2: at 4-1, still tied with Alabama in all likelihood. Who knows,
- 58:09Speaker 2: if they falter somewhere down the line and you all
- 58:10Speaker 2: continue to win, it's not out of the question Kentucky's
- 58:14Speaker 2: playing in that SEC championship.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Well, I don't see Georgia losing at all. I mean,
- 58:19Speaker 1: Georgia's got this weekend. Well, not just that, but their
- 58:23Speaker 1: schedule is pretty light as far as I'm concerned. Now,
- 58:28Speaker 1: right now, this weekend, they play Auburn. They got Florida
- 58:32Speaker 1: the following weekend in Athens. No, that'll be in Jacksonville, right? Oh,
- 58:36Speaker 1: that's right. It's in Jacksonville. I forgot that. Or is it?
- 58:40Speaker 1: Did they switch that up? They are renovating Everbank Field. Oh, well,
- 58:45Speaker 1: maybe they're playing in Orlando then. That would suck. And
- 58:48Speaker 1: then you've got Georgia at Ole Miss, so they're headed
- 58:51Speaker 1: down to Oxford. Then you've got Missouri coming to Athens.
- 58:55Speaker 1: I think that'll be an easy win for Georgia. Georgia's
- 58:58Speaker 1: got South Carolina and Columbus, and I don't have a
- 59:01Speaker 1: problem with that. And then they play Georgia Tech at Athens.
- 59:05Speaker 1: So I think that's fairly easy. Now, if you look
- 59:08Speaker 1: at Alabama, I'm not sure they lose another game. They've
- 59:13Speaker 1: got Tennessee and Knoxville. I really think they win that
- 59:20Speaker 1: game with ease. They've got Texas A & M in Tuscaloosa.
- 59:25Speaker 1: They've got LSU. That might be the toughest one for them.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Look, you can speculate all you want, but the SEC's
- 59:31Speaker 2: been crazy. We don't know how it's all going to
- 59:34Speaker 2: play out.
- 59:35Speaker 1: But I'm telling you, I think Alabama wins out.
- 59:39Speaker 2: That Tennessee game feels like a Tennessee win to me
- 59:43Speaker 2: with the way the SEC's gone.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Oh, Alabama? Yeah. And the game's in Knoxville. I know it. No,
- 59:48Speaker 1: I really think after Alabama losing to Georgia and they
- 59:51Speaker 1: feel like they should have won that game, I really
- 59:53Speaker 1: feel like Alabama is going to win out and they
- 59:56Speaker 1: won't have any problems going. They dominate. I know Tennessee
- 59:59Speaker 1: always thinks that, oh, that's our biggest rival. No, they're not.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Just like Kentucky feels like Tennessee is one of their
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: biggest rivals. No, we're not. Tennessee doesn't think anything of Kentucky.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: They look at it as another win. Yep. And so
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Alabama looks at Tennessee as another win. Now, you know, Kentucky,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: we got Oklahoma this weekend. We're back in Lexington with Vanderbilt.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: We get at Tennessee down in Knoxville. I that's going
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: to be a tough one. I still think Florida in
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Lexington should be a win, but it's going to be tough.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I think the other tough one is going to be
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: at Missouri. And then we end up with, as we
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: all know, Louisville. And I think of the easy games left,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: I think Vanderbilt's the easiest. People aren't going to like this,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: but I think the second easiest game on the schedule.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Are you ready? U of L. No, that was, Yeah,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I just, I do. Do you think so? Or do
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: you think, who do you think is the second easiest
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: game on the schedule that should be a win for UK? I,
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: with how they've looked the last two weeks, I'd say Florida.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: You would? Yeah. And I get that. Yeah. But I
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: think John Summerill will have his team ready and will
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: be coming to Lexington ready to play some football.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: By the way, Florida and Georgia are playing in Mercedes-Benz
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Stadium in Atlanta.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Oh, in Atlanta? Yeah. Ah, okay. That makes sense. But
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: they'll go back to Everbank next. I've never understood why
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: they played that in Florida, in Jacksonville. Do you? They
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: always call it the biggest cocktail party. It's kind of
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: the midway point. Is it midway? I guess. It's still
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: in Florida.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: I'll tell you right now, being in Jacksonville for those games,
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: you talk about crazy.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Those tailgates before that game are off the charts.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Yeah. A lot of fun. Here's the one question I
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: want to ask you, though. Any chance Brent Venables, the
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: head coach at Oklahoma, is working on how to stop
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: a two-point play? Oh, I guarantee it.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: But you as a Kentucky fan hope it doesn't come
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: down to that.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Well, exactly. You hope it's more than that. I mean,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: I would like to win a game now in the SEC. Granted,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: we did it against Texas A & M. Can we
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: win one in regulation now? But I thought about that
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: last night. It's like, I got to believe there's teams
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: out there, coaches out there that are, okay, how are
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: we going to stop Kentucky on a two-point play? Because
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: you know it's going to run out. Oh, you'll fail eventually. Yeah. Oh,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: they have to. I mean, we failed on the fourth
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: down twice. So it's like, okay, we got to figure
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: a way to continue that two-point play streak.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: To me, that's the funnest thing. Let's continue the overtime streak.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: You know, you've already set records.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: No. Keep them going. Yeah. Even Craig Skinner made a
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: comment on Monday after the media conference. And so they
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: had Craig Skinner right after Will Stein. He says, can
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: you win one in regulation? And I thought that was funny.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: I love that they do Skinner and Stein back to
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: back because their interaction when Stein's getting up and Skinner's
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: coming on, it's always really fun.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: It is fun because Craig Skinner's a fun guy. And
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: if you get to know Will Stein, their personalities really
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: mesh together. And I love that they're doing this together because, yeah,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: you're right. Craig Skinner deserves just as much credit, too.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Look at what he has built. Oh, well, yeah, you're
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: right about that. I think we talked about it within
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: the last year. Who's been the most successful coach at UK?
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: It's been Craig Skinner the last, what, five years? It
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: has been Craig Skinner, the most successful. Who is going
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: to be next? It might be. My boy. Will Stein. Nope.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: My boy. I know. And that was going to be
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: my next one. It might be Kenny Brooks. By the way,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: he's coming on tomorrow. And I'll be here. Woo! Yeah. Oh,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: there you go. Exactly. You would have missed him otherwise
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: on your birthday. I would have listened in later. That's
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: the thing. But I set this up for your birthday.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: That was the thing about it, and you didn't realize it.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: It's like, he's coming Thursday. Okay, well, I'll be playing golf.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: It's like, dude, you didn't even recognize what I did.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Is this your gift for my birthday? That's one of them, yes.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I thought, okay, then I'll cancel it. I'll have him
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: come on Friday. My gosh, I thought that was kind
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: of a nice little gift to have your bromance, your
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: favorite UK coach on the show on your birthday. I'm excited.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I'm excited to hear from him. I've never been more disappointed. Seriously.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: That's my birthday present.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: Hey, I know you're an Indiana fan, so for your birthday,
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: I'm going to get you an interview.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: With Kentucky's women's coach. That's all I can get, but
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: I know how much you like him. Yeah. Did you
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: even reach out to Signetti? No. Would you like, Coach Cignetti,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: would you come on a show called Just the Cats?
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: It's really about UK, but, you know, we want you on.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: It's my birthday. Yeah, it's my producer's birthday, and he's
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: a huge IU fan. He's going to look at me
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: and say, dude, go somewhere else. Anyway, we got to
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: take a break. What do you want me to do?
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: I don't know anybody up there at IU. Would you
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: like me to try? I'm just giving you a hard time.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I think you should try. It's going to be a
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: great interview. I think you should try and get Cignetti
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: on your show. No way. Why? He's not coming on
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: little old scoots. Get me?
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you at least try? Because, honestly, I don't
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: think it'd be a good interview. I think it'd be boring.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: It would be? He's kind of a boring guy. Oh,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I see what you're saying. Okay.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I mean, he's a damn good coach, but talking- He's
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: a little boring.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, look at his State Farm commercial, for
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: crying out loud. You're right. All right. Who are the
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: fun interviews then? In your mind, who is a coach
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: that is a fun interview? Great question. Let me think
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: about that. All right. Let's take a break. We'll come back.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: You tell me who the fun coach would be. Are
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: we talking specifically at Indiana or just in the country? No, no, no, no.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: In the country. I'm talking about anybody out there. All right. So, anyway.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: All right. Let's take a break. 502-384-1450. 502-414-1450. We'll get
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: back to your texts as soon as we get back.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: This is Justin Cassidy. Decisions to hide. Back off. I'll
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: take you on. Headstrong. Take on anyone. I know that
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: you won't run. Headstrong. Run. We'll take you on. Headstrong
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: and take on anyone. I know that you are wrong. Okay,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I got to turn my headphones down. I love that song.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: By the way, I don't know if you saw this
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: or not, but it's going viral. So lead singer of
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: that band right there, Metallica, is really criticizing a lot
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: of the entertainers, as he says, entertainers, for talking about
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: or trying to influence people about their politics. And he said,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: we don't do that BS here. He goes, Metallica's agenda
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: is energy and heavy music, baby. Love that. So did I.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: It's like, I wish more people would take that. And
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: then Nikki Sixx of, oh, what's the band that he's in? Shoot,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: I can't think of it, but somebody will text it
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: to me. Nikki Sixx? Yeah, Nikki Sixx, he's a bass
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: player for a hair band. Motley Crue. Motley Crue, thank you.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: He said the same thing. He said too many people
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: that are entertainers, that are celebrities, that are getting into politics,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: they need to shut the blank up. Agreed. And I
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: agree with it. It's like that's the reason I don't
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: talk politics on this show. It's like we all need
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: to escape it. Somehow we need to escape it. And
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: the last thing I want to do is go pay
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: for a concert and have somebody start talking about crap.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: It's like, shut up and play your music. So anyway.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: They're not Nikki Sixx. Nikki Sixx and James, what's his
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: last name, with Metallica. I love them. And I love
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: the fact that they spoke out against this. Nikki Sixx
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: did very well in life with his wife. Oh, really? Yes.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: I haven't seen that. Okay, good for him. Well done. Yeah,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: he had a tough childhood, by the way.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: Kind of like a Bill Belichick, Jordan Hudson thing going on.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Oh, is it really? Oh, yeah. She looks young. Oh, really? Oh, okay.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Keep me away from commenting on that. She was a playmate.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: A playboy playmate. Oh, there you go. How about that? Yeah,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: there you go. So you like the fact that they're
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: speaking out against this kind of crap. See, I do, too.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: I mean, I'm right there with them. I mean, across
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: the board, whether it's movie star- singer, heck, even athletes.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: I don't want to hear any of that from any
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: of them. Keep all that to yourself. Who is the
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: comedian that went to an award show? He's the British
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: guy that said, by the way, come up here, get
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: your little award, say thank you, and we don't want
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: to hear anything else and go sit down.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: Is that Ricky Gervais? That was it. Yeah, Ricky Gervais.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: And I thought that was the greatest thing to ever
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: say in front of all those celebrities. Because if anything,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: I do the opposite. When they try to encourage me,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: I've been so disappointed in Bruce Springsteen. It's like, I
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: don't want to hear that. Robert De Niro spoke up
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: a lot. It's like, I don't want to hear that.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: I do think people get to a certain age where
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: they just don't care what you want.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Really? No.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Like, I'm just a crotchety old man. I'm going to
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: talk about whatever I want to talk about.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Well, there's certain politicians I don't like out there, but
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I'm not going to mention it. Nobody cares. Only I do. So, anyway.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Was that you a couple weeks ago that brought up
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: how there was one vote missing in Senate and it
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: was Mitch McConnell?
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: No, that wasn't me. Oh, my gosh. That was one
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: of the funniest things I've heard on the radio. Oh, really?
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: It was when they were voting on the Protect College Act.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: And there was one senator who didn't vote. I guess
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: it was Spears, and he was like, it had to
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: be Mitch McConnell, right?
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Oh, boy. Yeah. No, that wasn't me. Let's see here.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Josh texted out, I was a better fan of Adele
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: before she lost the weight. She could have got it
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: twice a day and three times on Sundays. I agree
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: with Josh. Oh, you thought she was pretty with the weight? Oh, yeah.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, there's certain people that just look better with some
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: weight on them, and she was one of them. I
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: agree with that. I mean, another one would be Rebel Wilson.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: You familiar with Rebel Wilson?
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: No.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: So she's an actress. She lost a bunch of weight,
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: and she's hilarious. But now that she's skinny, I don't
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: think she's as funny.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: All right. Here you go. Kenny G plays a tenor sax,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: and then he sent me a picture of it, and
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: it is straight. There you go. So I wasn't crazy.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: A tenor sax. I never knew there was a tenor sax,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: and that makes me feel so much better because I'm like,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: he didn't play a normal saxophone that has the weird
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: curve on it. He played that one, too. He does? Okay.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: The famous one where he plays that song that was
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: in Pretty Woman, the video is of him playing a
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: straight one. So, okay. I got you. One person said,
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: probably because it's harder to place... Louisville since it's right
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: on the river for maps. So that's the reason they
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: put Lexington. Well, then put it underneath. They could put
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: it underneath and there would be plenty of room. I
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: guess that explanation makes sense. I don't know. Yeah. All right.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: I can't believe you went on a ramp. still. It
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: bugs me. I want to see my city on the
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: map going nationally because that gives credit to the city
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: of Louisville.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: You're just so Jekyll and Hyde with that. You hate
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: the Courier Journal because they don't talk about Kentucky. Then
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: you get mad when you look at a weather map
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: and it's got Lexington.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Well, it's not just the Courier Journal. It's Wave 3.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: It's WHAS. It's WLKY and WDRB. They don't send anybody
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: to Lexington to cover UK sports. Now, granted... I did
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: meet a guy I rode on the golf cart. I
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: kind of felt bad. I met the WHAS sports guy.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I think his name was Kent Spencer. That's correct. Okay.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: I didn't know who he was. Kind of felt bad. Yeah.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: I don't know if it embarrassed him or not. And
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, how long have you lived in Louisville?
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: He goes, I've lived here for like 15 years. Yeah,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: he's kind of a staple. Okay, sorry. I didn't know
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: who Kent Spencer was. I always get him and Kent
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: Taylor confused. Taylor, I'm not a fan. I can't. He's
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: a UofL. Just admit you're a UofL fan and then
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: cover UofL and then have somebody else cover UK. I
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: wouldn't have a problem with that. And then go have
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: your station, go to Lexington, or at least get the tapes,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: pay for the tapes, whatever the interview was. Cover the
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: schools the same way. Because you've got just as many
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: UK fans in Louisville, Kentucky, as you do UofL fans.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: Do you see how goofy this is sounding coming out
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: of your mouth? Because it's the exact opposite of the
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: weather map.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: Yes, you're right. It is. It sounds ridiculous. But my
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: mind is ridiculous, okay? If you haven't figured that out
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: in two and a half years, what's wrong with you?
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I've got the weirdest brain in the world, okay? I
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: want street cred for Louisville as a city, not as
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: University of Louisville, okay? It's cool to be able to
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: play the piano because then you could always make the
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: women swoon while sitting on top of the piano. Well,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: except for Scoots, who has already basically said he's not
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: interested in women with our boobs in the morning. Here
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: we go. Twisted words around. Oh, that makes me funny
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: or makes me laugh. Makes me funny. Makes me funny. Yeah,
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: I know. That was really funny. Let me see here.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Under Tom Osborne, Nebraska was an elite program. That is true.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Back in the 80s, I guess, is when Tom Osborne
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: was at Nebraska. Oregon's a Johnny-come-lately program. Is that true?
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: I would say so, yeah. You think so? That's a
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: fair description. Okay. Probably so. And you know what's helping
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: them most is because Nike's right there. Exactly. Yeah. And
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: that's helped them quite a bit. Did Alabama get hosed
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: on the non-call in the end zone? Non-call in the
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: end zone? I don't remember the play. I don't either.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: But what was the whole thing with DeBoer and the
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: one-player draft? You just lost us the game. Did you
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: see that video? No. Oh, my. And he's clearly yelling
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: at his player, you just lost us the game. I
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: don't think that's a good way to coach with negativity.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: Kind of like with Will Stein and the kicker. By
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: the way, Will Stein is changing punters for the game
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: this weekend, which I'm fine with. But I'm glad he's
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: not changing the kicker. I loved what he did. We
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: talked about it on Monday, the fact that he brought
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: him over there and said– You're my guy. And said,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: I see you kick it at practice and make it
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: every single practice. Go out there and do it again.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: That's the way you coach. You don't go out there
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: and negatively coach your player. And that's what DeBoer did
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: the other day.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: By the way, just rewatched that Alabama-Georgia play. Yeah, definitely pass.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Should have been called.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: But that's going to happen. You're going to have missed
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: calls like that every single game. It's true. And you
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: can't say that's the reason you lost the game. No. Okay,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: that's not the reason you lost the game. They lost
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: it many other places. Their quarterback, though. Alabama's. He's awesome.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: Is he really? Alabama's is? Yeah, he's going to be
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: a star. You think so? McConnell won't catch Strom Thurman.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: He was 100, and they wheeled him in on a
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: hospital gurney to cast his vote. Top that one. I
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: remember Strom Thurman. I remember SNL imitating Strom Thurman, which
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: was hilarious. Yeah, that was one of the great bits
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: on Saturday Night Live with Chris Farley. Oh, my gosh,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: I love that. What a name, Strom. Yeah, he was
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: the senator from South Carolina, and his name was Strom. Yeah,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: he was close to 100 years old. He looks like
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: 100 years old when he was like 40. Yeah, well, yeah, exactly.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: Isn't that terrible when you have that? Because, you know,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: somebody was asked. I've had no less than three people
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: in the last few months ask my wife if she
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: was my daughter. How crazy? And she's older than me. No,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: her hair's less gray. Oh, is that what it is?
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: So my hair being gray is what makes me look older. Yeah.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: By the way, with Halloween coming up, have you seen
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: everybody complaining how much Halloween candy is costing? No. Is
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: it expensive? Do you realize Halloween candy has increased in
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: price by 8% from last year? And people are complaining.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: And I get it. I'm like, maybe the kids that
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: come trick-or-treat should give me a little money, and then
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I'll give them some candy in exchange for it. I'll
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: give them the candy at extreme discount, but they should
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: give me a little money. What do you think of that?
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: That seems fair. Could we do that? Yeah. You think
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: that seems fair? Yeah. I think so, too. I think
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: every kid that comes by, I'm going to put a
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: sign up. I'll take a dollar for your big piece
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: of candy. By the way, I've got a working event
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: on Halloween with the other radio station. It's like a
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: trick or treat thing. Kids just come in the line
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: and visit all the booths and get candy. Yes. Going
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: as the dinosaur from Toy Story. Are you really? I am. Yep.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Toy Story.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: I need pictures of this. Toy Story's the theme, so
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: we're all going to dress up in Toy Story stuff.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I was invited to a Halloween costume party. I declined.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: Because you don't want to dress up? I don't want to.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: I don't do costumes. Really? Yeah. No. Oh, they're fun.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: I'm not doing it. You should shave your head. Go
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Stone Cold. Shave my head?
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: No.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: That's what I did one year. No, you shave your
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: head and it's not unusual. I'm not shaving my head. No.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: So what costume you think would be good for me
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: to wear to a Halloween party? I'm just curious what
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: you think costume would look good on Michael Bennett.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: I'm trying to think what you've got in the closet
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: and all that. I would say like a. If you went,
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: I think you could pull off Hugh Hefner.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. Really? I'd get the smoking jacket out
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: and some pajamas to wear and a pipe. I think
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: you could do it. Really? Or like, oh, here you go. Yeah.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy Johnson? Yeah, the coach. Why would I?
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: I mean, your old hair is the exact same. Is
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: it really? Yeah, Jimmy Johnson had that gray-white hair. Yeah.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: I miss Jimmy Johnson. You know, a lot of people
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: are talking about that– Terry Bradshaw, they feel like his
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: career is ending, his broadcasting career. I feel like his
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: life may be ending. Really? He's getting up there. Really?
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: I don't remember. Not a young pup anymore. No, and
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: I would say of all the announcers on pregame and
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: postgame shows, he's my favorite. I can't agree with that.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: You don't? I mean, I enjoy him, but he's not
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: my favorite. He's 78, by the way. Oh, that's younger
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: than I thought. I thought he would have been in
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: his 80s. So, okay. We got to take our, well,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: let me get to this one here. Oh, this is
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: a good one. Strom Thurmond was another good imitation that
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: Dana Coffey did for SNL. You're exactly right. One person said, Michael,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: wear jockey silks and a hat. I should be a jockey.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: That would be great. John Candy did a movie where
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: he dressed up as a jockey one time. And I
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: thought that was brilliantly funny. I did. All right. Let's
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: talk about the teams when we come back that have
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: paid the least in payrolls for their roster.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: So we'll talk about that. By the way, my brother
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: Zach said you should go as Bob Baffert.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Bob Baffert. Interesting. Another good one. Yeah. Hmm. Okay. But
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: he's all up. My hair's not white. Yeah, you got
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: more gray. I do?
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: He's a silver fox. No, your hair's more like a
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: gray as opposed to white.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: Yeah. He's a silver fox without a doubt. He's a
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: white fox. Yeah. Albino fox. Oh, he really is an
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: albino fox. You're going all out. Okay. That would be fun.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Go as Bob Baffert. But I don't think people would recognize, hey,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: you're Bob Baffert. Maybe not. Yeah. It's got to be something.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. It doesn't matter because
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: you're not going. I'm not going. Yeah. Antisocial. Maybe. People
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: will look at me like, who are you? And then
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: I got to explain. Then I got to talk to
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: them for like 10 minutes to explain who I am.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I'm just not, that's not me. I just, I can't
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: do costume parties. Okay. Good for you for doing that.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: I could never do what you're doing. So we're going
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: to take our last break. 502-414-1450. When we come back,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: we're going to talk about the roster pay and what
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: happened to a Browns rookie, which I think is really funny.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Stay right there. One more segment. Just got to come
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: right up. Rock the Never Never Land It starts with
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: one thing. I don't know why. It doesn't even matter
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: how hard you try. Keep that in mind. I'm designed,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: described to explain in due time. All I know. Time
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: is a valuable thing. Watch it fly by as the
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: pendulum swings. Watch it count down to the end of
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: the day. The clock ticks. All right, we're on our
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: last segment on this Wednesday as the week's just flying by,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: but Corey Price was sending me the video of the
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: LSU game of them in the booth, and then somehow
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: UK deleted it. It's like I've never been more disappointed.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Dang it. He really promoted it yesterday to you and me,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: and I'm like, I can't wait to see this video. Sorry,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: I can't hear you. You can't hear me? Oh, because
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: of the, yeah. Mr. Leaf Blower right at my freaking window.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Is he really? Go on somewhere. Wow. All right, well,
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: let's talk about the college football teams winning with small
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: roster payrolls. This is something else. Of course, Kentucky's right
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: here in the midst of that list right there, only
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: paying between $ 22 and $ 25 million. Do you think that
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: increases next year? Yes. So do I. By how much?
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: I would say $ 8 million. See, I'm right at 10. See,
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: I don't think that's too much to ask for. And
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: with success comes more pressure, comes more money, though. And
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: fans will want to give in. Somebody was saying, how
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: would the pony-up thing go if Will Stein said it?
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Wasn't that yesterday? Yeah. And listen, I don't think he
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: has to say anything like that. For the continued success,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: players will want to come play for him, number one. Mm-hmm.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: It's not going to be just about the money, even
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: though I think money's number one. But they will want
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: to come play for him. I think it'll be a
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: combination of both. But I think that Will Stein and
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: the staff and everybody that Jay Bat and Will Stein
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: is putting in place is going to help with the
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: money side of it. And it's only going to increase.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: I agree. Northwestern is right there, right underneath it. 23 million. Iowa,
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: which I was really kind of surprised, raised only 20
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: million for their team. Utah is right underneath them. Oklahoma State,
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: only $ 18 million. Arizona, which is a really big school,
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: $ 15 to $ 18 million.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they're pumping all theirs into basketball, though.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: And here's the surprising part. So Houston, Wake Forest, and
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Duke rounds out the top. Duke only gives $ 12 million
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: to their football program. Hmm. I was shocked by that.
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: That is shocking. And if I'm a football coach at Duke,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I'm going somewhere else. And if I'm a good coach,
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: I'm never considering Duke because clearly all their money is
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: going to basketball. Are you not surprised by that too?
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: That's a private school that can hide all the money
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: they want to. Yeah, but I don't know.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: Honestly, I don't know how much they're even spending in basketball.
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: It doesn't feel like Duke is one of those schools that's,
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: Taking advantage of the NIL and Arrow like they probably
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: should have.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, you know, you look at Barstool Sports. You
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: look at New York Times. You look at all these
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: different very well-known national media centers that are talking about U.K. football.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: You showed me the post of– And we talked about
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: it earlier, the father-daughter that did the 20-year difference. You
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: said that was in New York Times? Yeah, New York
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: Times picked it up. And then New York Times has
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: picked up a couple of other things. Barstool Sports keeps
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: showing UK and the fans down on the field. And
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: they're playing that song from the guy over there from Eastern.
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: I'm not a fan of, by the way. He's okay.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: But anyway, everybody go crazy over him. But I'm kind of,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: I guess, what's his name? I don't know who you're
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: talking about. Yeah, don't worry about it. So it's just okay.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: But anyway, let's talk about the Cleveland Browns for a second.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: What do you think about Cleveland Browns players pranking rookie
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: linebacker Justin Jefferson? Did you see this? No, what'd they do?
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: So his teammates took his car, took all the wheels
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: off of it, wrapped it in plastic, and before they
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: wrapped it in plastic, they filled it with those packing peanuts. Oh,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: my gosh. On the inside, and then wrapped the entire car.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: That's so annoying. Is it annoying or is it funny? I,
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: as that player, I would be very, very annoyed. Would
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: you really? Yeah. See, I would take it as a compliment.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: They're accepting me. They want to do jokes on me
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: in a fun, loving way. They all came around and
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: couldn't wait to see Justin Jefferson and his reaction. And
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: I think that is fun. Now, the other part is, oh,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: how do you get the wheels back on? Here's the
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: fun part. They all decided to help him put the
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: wheels back on. They should. Yeah.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: That's just, come on. That's a fun thing to do.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's not fun. I'm just saying I
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: wouldn't want to be that player who had it done
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: to you.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Really? To me, yeah, you would because they've accepted you.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: Okay, would you rather this happen or would you rather
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: go out to dinner and get stuck with like a $ 40, 000
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: dinner bill?
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: I would rather that happen than a $ 40, 000 dinner. Come on,
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: are you kidding me?
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: I would much rather get stuck with a large bill
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: than have to deal with the headache of fixing my.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: Car back up. Yeah, okay. all right because that's just
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: annoying okay i i if you say so i do
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: say so okay all right then i i just don't
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: want to get stuck with a bill like that i
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: would rather put the tire listen take you an hour
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: put all the wheels back on tires not that uh
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: the the tires back on the wheels it's not that
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: big of a deal If you don't have any wheels,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: it is. Okay. What the hell are you supposed to
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: get your car jacked up? They had it jacked right there,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: ready to jack it back up. No big deal. All right. Well,
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: I'm glad they did it for us. Okay. What did
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: you think of Otega Owe helped off the court last night? Oh,
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: was he? Yeah. That's not good. Potentially a serious injury.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: I hope it's not that big of a deal. I,
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: I am rooting for him to do well. I mean, just,
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: he spent two years at UK fell in love with
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: UK and I think the fan base really fell in
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: love with him. I was really bummed to see that.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: So I hope it's, it's not anything too terribly serious or, uh,
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: definitely not career ending. I hope that, uh, very much so. So, uh, yeah.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Are you going to watch any of the sec day today? Uh,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: I will watch approximately zero of it. Yeah, I figured that. So,
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: are you excited that John Pelfrey and Alfred Aboya were
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: announced yesterday? Oh, they did announce Pelfrey? Yeah, Pelfrey and Aboya.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: I thought they only had one spot. Well, both of
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: them were on there. Hmm. Yeah. Interesting. How they, okay.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: They got them both. Anyway, but it was official, so. Anyway,
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: good for them. All right. Next couple of days, we're
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: going to be talking about several different things. Number one,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: we're going to be talking about basketball because, uh, basketball
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: starts Friday night with the first exhibition game. And, uh, uh, I, I,
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: I think I'm ready for this. Who is it? Arkansas. Um,
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: Pine Bluff or a little rock. I forget which one
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: it is. I don't even remember who it is. Why
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: would you ask me that? I don't know. Yeah, I
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: think it's a little rock. Uh, Either way, horrible game.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: It will be, but we'll get to see, you know,
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: what we're looking forward to. I hope it's going to
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: be something. But, no, I'm kind of looking forward to it,
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: so it'll be fun.
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: Surprised you're already turning the attention to basketball.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you got to a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: it's a little rock. So. You don't have to turn
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: the page if you don't want enjoy the football season. Well,
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: I'm still going to enjoy the football season, but you
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: didn't talk about a little bit about the basketball. Don't
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: we have to talk about it? Yeah. You got to
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: talk about it. So no, it's, it's, it's going to be,
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: I don't think it's going to be a big issue
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: as far as the exhibition games, but if they play
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: them close, I'm going to be a little worried about it.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Oh, now it's back up. So Corey just
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: texted it to us. Heck yeah. Yeah. And so we
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: can watch that. So, I'll retweet it right now if
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: you want to go to.
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: Is that the whole video or is it just the
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: last play?
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: The last play. Because I want to see the whole video. Oh,
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: you do? I don't want to watch just the last play. Yeah. Well, no.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: I wanted to see Tom Leach's reaction. And, of course,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: Corey Price is going nuts. Yeah, he does. He turns around.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: Jeff Procuro's right there. And Jeff Procuro won't let go
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: of him. Oh, yeah. This is fun. Yeah. They're all
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: hugging and Tom Leach does not get up. Come on, Tom,
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: you got to get up and cheer a little bit now.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: He's got to call it. I understand, but the headphones,
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: the microphone's right there on his headphones so he can
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: get up. Tom, show a little bit of excitement. He's tired.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Broadcasting's hard. Oh, listen, I'm not going to argue that point.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: Doing a radio show is tiring, but it's still fun.
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: And something like that, you're not tired after that game. No,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: you're not. I got home. I didn't get one. I
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: didn't go to bed until two because I was wide awake.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I mean, completely wide awake. My wife came out and
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: I said, what are you doing? I said, I can't
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: settle down. I couldn't. I was so excited. I mean,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: just think about everything that happened to me last week,
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: and then you end it with a UK win over
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: LSU when you did not expect it. I mean, the
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: more we win, the more nervous I get about every
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: single game. No, just take it in. Enjoy it for
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: what it is. I bet you got nervous last year, too.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: Don't tell me to just take it in. Last year, no,
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: I didn't. Maybe that Penn State game. I've been way
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: more nervous this year than I was last year. Really? Why?
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: Because the expectation is there. Exactly. Yeah.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I think this team is as good
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: as last year's, but I've definitely had more nervous moments.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: By the way, for those of you that love hearing
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: about my horse racing stuff, October 24th, did I mention
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: this already? Not sure if you did or not. I
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: don't think I did. October 24th. Cosmic Creed, my little
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: filly that's trained by Dale Romans, will be racing at Keeneland.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: So that's going to be our first horse at Keeneland.
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: I'm excited about that. And then the one that just
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: won last week, Hunting Goodwill. Are you ready for this?
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: Horacio DePaz, his trainer, is going to be shipping him
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: to Louisville, Kentucky to race November 8th. Ah, that's awesome.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: At Churchill Downs. Heck yeah. So now we're all good
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: to go and watch him race there at Churchill. Yeah,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: I'm excited about that. It's evidently a pretty good race
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: that he wants to put him there at Churchill. So
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: now he's going to be racing with the big boys.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: That's awesome. So that will be a lot of fun.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: I can't wait for that. Let's have a party. I
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: think we should. And everybody that listens to this show,
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: if you want to come out there and join me,
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: come out and join me. Yeah. We're going to have
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: a great time. I might even get you into the
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: paddock if you come out there. Come on. How do
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: you like that? Come out there, join me, come into
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: the paddock, and we're going to have a big time
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: watching this horse hopefully win. I don't know. We'll see.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: But everybody, appreciate you listening. We'll see you tomorrow, Jessica.
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: I tried so hard. In spite of the way you
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: were mocking me. Acting like I was part of your property.
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: Remembering all the times you fought with me. I'm surprised
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: it got so hard. The way they were before.
