Care worker barred from meeting with UK home secretary over settlement plans

A care worker chosen by other migrants to speak on their behalf was denied entry to a meeting with Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, just hours before it was scheduled for October 21. Kolade had cut short a vacation to take part. Unison reported that Mahmood’s office informed the union that he was not allowed to attend as his presence was deemed “inappropriate.” Kolade said the decision made him feel deeply humiliated.
