- 1:06I'm your host, William Ross.
- 1:08I got my diet Mountain Dew as always, and we're ready to do some chit chatting.
- 1:12Or I guess they say I'm just ready to do some talking here
- 1:15and we are going to talk about.
- 1:17Something that I actually, I guess you could say it's been brought up
- 1:21Intox before, but the big Hubble Baloo in the Ferrari world is the little
- 1:27nugget that Louis Hamilton dropped about a week and a half ago, whatever.
- 1:32I was gonna try and do this sooner, but I kind of wanted to wait to
- 1:34see what else got dug up on it.
- 1:36There's been a few other things, so it's been interesting.
- 1:39But anyways, Louis Hamilton dropped a little tidbit information.
- 1:42It kind of reflected on his photo shoot.
- 1:44He did when he was finally at Ferrari Marineo.
- 1:48They did it, you know, in the factory, then they do it in front of Enzo's
- 1:50old house office, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:52And he was standing there next to an F 40, all dressed up in his
- 1:55suit and everything looking good.
- 1:56And supposedly he wanted to have a black F 40 and Ferrari said,
- 2:00Nope, that's not happening.
- 2:01So they had the red one in there, but.
- 2:03The F 40 is one of Lewis Hamilton's all time favorite road going cars, so he
- 2:09would love, again, we don't know where this conversation has gone with Ferrari.
- 2:14If this is just something, you know, you're playing that game where he's
- 2:17gonna drop it out on social media and the news and stuff like that.
- 2:19Then try and see if it goes somewhere because it's got wheels, you know,
- 2:22make it more of a public forum type discussion than a behind doors closed
- 2:27discussion with Ferrari themselves before anything gets said or released.
- 2:31But he would love.
- 2:32To have Ferrari build him for him for release, I guess limited
- 2:37production, but a modern F 40 with.
- 2:42Jumble a manual transmission, which everyone went nuts about.
- 2:46'cause everyone's kind of been clamoring and everything.
- 2:49You know, Ferrari come out, everyone else is coming back to offering or
- 2:52putting in manual transmissions.
- 2:54I mean, obviously this is a kind of a higher level.
- 2:56You get in the hyper criteria like Konig Sag, paani, they're doing it.
- 3:00Porsche's always offered a manual 'cause hey, their buyers want it.
- 3:03But I think you're going to see a lot of other manufacturers
- 3:06step in and offer that.
- 3:09As an option on their cars.
- 3:11Now, way back when, for those of us of, I guess you would say certain age bracket
- 3:15demographic used to be when you bought a new car or you went to spec a new car,
- 3:21order a new car, everything, way back when manual transmission was standard.
- 3:25And you had to pay extra to get an automatic transmission in
- 3:29your car and it wasn't cheap.
- 3:31You know, a lot of these things, I mean, it was an expensive option.
- 3:34I mean, I know back at BMW back in the day and it was almost like a
- 3:37$1,500 option to get an automatic transmission put in your car.
- 3:42So people were like, forget that, you know, it was like, had a mail
- 3:44and people grew up driving manuals.
- 3:46I grew up my first Carver manual.
- 3:47A majority of people I'm sure will probably listen to this,
- 3:49their first Carver manual.
- 3:50No, you wanna teach your kids how to drive a manual 'cause it's just, you're
- 3:53more involved in the experience and it's such a different driving experience
- 3:56when you are rowing your own gears.
- 3:58It's phenomenal.
- 4:00Anyways.
- 4:01The discussion was had, you know, I guess a lot of people kind of tweaked it,
- 4:04you know, it's like the telephone game.
- 4:06It started, the story was here, and then by the time it got to this
- 4:08end, it was completely different.
- 4:10But you know, people putting their own spin and take on it.
- 4:12You wanted and supposedly call it LH 44 or something like that.
- 4:17You had the 44 designation and somehow some way, which probably be a little
- 4:22tough, but I mean it is Louis Hamilton and you know, hey, if he can deliver.
- 4:27A world championship to Ferrari and Constructors Championship
- 4:30with him and Charles Le Clare.
- 4:32Then I, I think Ferrari, no, he, no problem.
- 4:35He's gotta prove himself just because your name.
- 4:37Yeah.
- 4:37He's, you know, seven time world champion, F1 world champion, everything like that.
- 4:41Yes.
- 4:41No, he's got the CV to back up making this request.
- 4:46But you know what?
- 4:46A Ferrari just doesn't, they're pretty staunch in regards to how they operate
- 4:51their business, but his takeaway is no.
- 4:53He wanted to have a modern F four manual transmission.
- 4:55Now, what that would entail would be V 12, which I would think that
- 4:58yes, you'd have to go V 12 in that manual transmission all out F 50.
- 5:03That would be the route I'm sure they wanna go.
- 5:05Now, would you just kind of tweak.
- 5:07You know, make a more modernized version look of the F 40 or what have you.
- 5:11That would be kind of interesting to see how they'd go about doing that.
- 5:15I would say it's gotta be a road going car.
- 5:17My guess and assumption, and if I said, I've touched on this before and said
- 5:20it before, if they ever did another manual transmission car, it was gonna
- 5:24be one of the I Kona series cars.
- 5:26So whatever it may be, you know, obviously we just have the S SP three.
- 5:29You got the SP one, SP two, you got the S SP three.
- 5:32You know, they do some one-offs for very, very influential
- 5:35customers, but it would be somewhere along the lines of Ioni series.
- 5:39So 500 cars, maybe 250.
- 5:41That's it.
- 5:42And obviously you gotta have that privilege and be offered
- 5:45that golden ticket to buy one.
- 5:47So basically, 99.9% of us in this world that are car fanatics and love
- 5:52cars would never have the opportunity to drive one, let alone sit in one.
- 5:56Or maybe even get near one.
- 5:57I mean, yeah, I'll probably see one, a show or something like that.
- 6:00Really cool, but just wouldn't happen.
- 6:01I mean, obviously there's a very, very, very small portion of us that probably
- 6:05get to experience an F 40 or an F 50 F 40.
- 6:08More than likely you could possibly, because they're
- 6:10over 1300 of 'em got built.
- 6:11F 50 is not so much.
- 6:13That's the only kind, I guess you would say thing that would really suck about it.
- 6:17Us people here in the real world would never get afforded that
- 6:20opportunity to, you know, if you got deep pockets, hey, God bless you
- 6:24and you can buy one awesome for you.
- 6:26I, that's fantastic.
- 6:27But you know, all of us out here that I.
- 6:29Muck it every day, trying to earn a living and to pay the bills
- 6:32and keep a roof off our head.
- 6:33And if we can be able to afford a decent fun car to have and do some
- 6:37fun stuff on the weekends with our friends, that's fantastic, but
- 6:40we'd never get that opportunity.
- 6:41So it's unfortunate.
- 6:42But the engineering exercise of it would be fantastic to see because it would
- 6:47be awesome to see what they could put behind that, because there's so many
- 6:51things you can do now in regards to.
- 6:54Making say a modern F 40 that's got a V 12 manual transmission.
- 6:59Now, obviously with the missions and stuff like that, oh well it's gonna go
- 7:02back to, you know, twin turbo V eight because hey, mileage and mid blah,
- 7:05blah, blah, all that kind of stuff.
- 7:06But if you're doing a limited, serious car, doesn't matter.
- 7:08Have at it whatever fees, whatever taxes, whatever some would've to
- 7:13pay because they're bringing that into their country or whatever.
- 7:15So be it.
- 7:16It's not gonna hurt anybody.
- 7:18But you know, you have all the electronic nanny aids that the F 40 didn't have.
- 7:22That you could put on there, you know, obviously your trash
- 7:25control, that kinda stuff.
- 7:26I mean, hell, you could have the rev matching computer do that so you don't
- 7:29have to worry about blip doing your little heel toe when you're driving
- 7:32the car, doing down shifts and that, which my opinion, I guess it would take
- 7:36away from the experience, but there's probably should be a button in there.
- 7:38Something.
- 7:39Hey, turn that off.
- 7:40I'm gonna do it because I know how to do it.
- 7:42Again.
- 7:42It would be interesting seeing what their take would be on that.
- 7:45Would they go basically stripped out minimalist like they did with the F 40?
- 7:49No sound, Eddie?
- 7:49No, nothing.
- 7:50It's just basically at the tubs.
- 7:52Some wheels, the steering wheel and some pedals have at it,
- 7:54or do you do it up like that?
- 7:56Kona Series R. I mean, those are.
- 7:58Beautiful cars inside and out.
- 8:00I mean, the leather, everything like that.
- 8:02They're beautiful.
- 8:03I mean, there's no doubt about that.
- 8:04The craftmanship is there, so it's like, so what extent do you go with this car?
- 8:09My opinion, strip it out, make it minimalist.
- 8:12We don't need.
- 8:13A nav screen.
- 8:14You don't need any of that stuff.
- 8:15Just give us the basic gauges, everything like that.
- 8:17Make a hookup for your phone and do a cool way to mount your phone in there somehow,
- 8:22some way, because that's all, everyone uses their phone for it this day and age.
- 8:26You don't need those stupid ass big nav screens and all that stuff
- 8:29on there, running all your stuff.
- 8:30It's a fricking waste of money.
- 8:33You know what?
- 8:33And the other problem is in five to 10 years, the thing fucking breaks.
- 8:37Pardon my French, you're screwed.
- 8:39Trying to get it fixed for repair or whatnot, you know, I dunno what's gonna
- 8:42go on with a lot of these cars, you know, down the road here when they have
- 8:44all these electronics like that, you're just gonna have to have to scrap 'em.
- 8:47Because it will make absolutely zero sense to pay to try and have
- 8:51it fixed or repaired or anything like that because of the cost of it.
- 8:53It's like, I'll just go get another car.
- 8:55You know?
- 8:55It's unfortunate.
- 8:56People are gonna have to be very, very, um, smart picking through the
- 8:59junkyards and breaker yards and stuff to find old units that still work to
- 9:03be able to pull that out, to put it in.
- 9:04But then you gotta program all stuff.
- 9:05There's a lot of stuff there, right?
- 9:06You basically gonna have to have a Microsoft computer degree or whatever
- 9:09you wanna call it, and programming and coding and whatnot to figure it out.
- 9:13My suggestion, I think, I think Zen Bo does this with their cars.
- 9:17They don't have a NAV scan like that.
- 9:18They got your basic one that's got your stuff on there, but for NAV
- 9:22and all that stuff, they have this really cool mount for your phone.
- 9:24Everything like that sticks in and plugs in connection.
- 9:26The phone, hey, goes through the speaker, it's got the Bluetooth or
- 9:29plug it in, which I think is fantastic.
- 9:31You can design a really cool.
- 9:33Tray or a holding thing for your phone where it sets in there, whatever
- 9:36shape or form or, so it's visible.
- 9:38You can see it's laying there.
- 9:39Obviously phones these days are a certain size and shape.
- 9:42Trying to come up with something like that that can fit in there.
- 9:44But just put something in there where, okay, it's makes
- 9:47it snug or tight, whatever.
- 9:48They'll put something in there, some material, something that can
- 9:50adjust to make it nice and snug in there and tight figure it out.
- 9:53It's not that hard, but that would be my suggestion.
- 9:55Just keep it minimalist in that interior on this car.
- 9:58So, because if that's what you're going for in regards
- 10:00to having a new modern F 40.
- 10:03That's what it needs to be.
- 10:04Something light some top and make that glorious V 12, sing the F 50
- 10:08sounds beautiful when you put some pipes on everything like that.
- 10:11Oh my God.
- 10:11That thing's just absolutely, absolutely phenomenal.
- 10:14And people are realizing that, and that's why those cars are all approaching
- 10:18the $6 million mark, especially if it's a US factory built one.
- 10:22It's obscene.
- 10:22You're holding steady at about two and a half to three and a half million,
- 10:25maybe up to 4 million on, uh, forties, depending on mileage, that kinda stuff.
- 10:29History, everything like that.
- 10:30Used to be they F 50, F four were about priced the same F 50 used to,
- 10:34and F four used to be a lot cheaper.
- 10:36But now people are realizing, the fact is that was the last
- 10:39V 12 manual Ferrari built.
- 10:40It's got some age to it and everything like that, but it's gained some traction.
- 10:44Now, as a side note, if you have not gone on the internet and looked
- 10:47up the F 50 gt, you wanna talk about how that car should look?
- 10:53Check that out.
- 10:54'cause I wanna tell you, the F 50 GT is absolutely beautiful.
- 10:58Now, I know there's a lot of people out there that aren't a fan of how that wing
- 11:00is molded into the back of the thing.
- 11:02So take a look at the F 50 gt, 'cause it basically eliminates that.
- 11:04There's still a wing, but it's a completely different look.
- 11:07The front end, the back of everything.
- 11:08It's phenomenal.
- 11:09There's only two three F 50 GTS built.
- 11:12They're rares, hence teeth.
- 11:13I would love to see someone and obviously do it with the higher mileage F 50, but
- 11:17body scan it and get one of these carbon manufacturers everything, do the body
- 11:21panels up and do a whole new, put the kit on there on your car and do it up.
- 11:24I mean, save your original stuff, but I think they'll look cool.
- 11:26But anyway, back to the topic at hand.
- 11:29Louis Hamilton's request, or I guess you would say nudge out in
- 11:34social media News world about doing a modern take on the F 40 for him.
- 11:38I would love to see it.
- 11:39I think it'd be phenomenal.
- 11:41But again, also touching on, you know, he said something about we
- 11:44having to call the LH 44, something like that, blah, blah, blah one.
- 11:48It messes up the lineage in regards to the designations On the car.
- 11:52You have F 40, F 50, then you go into your end zone, your LA Fry.
- 11:56Now you have F 80.
- 11:57It kind of making a step back.
- 12:00I think he can get away with it, but it'd be interesting to
- 12:02see what they would call it.
- 12:03'cause the other thing I just briefly mentioned is Lewis has
- 12:06not done anything at Ferrari yet.
- 12:09If he brings the driver's championship or even helps him brings the Constructor
- 12:13Championship with him and Charles, then okay, I could see the justification.
- 12:18I mean, look up McLaren.
- 12:19Building the Senate.
- 12:20He won all his titles.
- 12:22His three titles, three titles with McLaren.
- 12:24I know, if not there, correct me if I'm wrong.
- 12:25I appreciate that.
- 12:26Thank you.
- 12:26So I think that gave McLaren the right to come out with a model called the Senate.
- 12:30'cause he spent the good majority of his career at McLaren.
- 12:33Obviously he only had those very short, what is it, six months, five, six months
- 12:38at Williams until he tragically passed.
- 12:41So I think Lewis is going to have to step up his game.
- 12:46Before something like that could happen.
- 12:48I mean, could be wrong.
- 12:49I mean, like I said, you know, Lewis's CV is fantastic.
- 12:53Seven world Championships prove himself.
- 12:56He is, you know, one of the best drivers of all time.
- 12:58It, it is out there.
- 12:59But it's that kinda adage though, that always kind of irks me.
- 13:01You know, obviously you gotta have the best car.
- 13:04All these guys on the grid, they know how to drive a race car.
- 13:07Obviously there's a couple that are above everyone else.
- 13:09They can squeeze those few extra 10 tents out of the car Max.
- 13:13We're stopping for one.
- 13:14But how much is it the car that helps because you put Max back into a Williams
- 13:20or you put him in the S or something?
- 13:22Yeah, he is not gonna be, I don't know if you can get up
- 13:24into the midfield with that car.
- 13:26'cause way regulations are and everything like that.
- 13:28You know, everything's supposed to be pretty similar and everything like that.
- 13:30But everything comes down to aerodynamics.
- 13:32You know, you look at from first to last in qualifying, everything that
- 13:36led to, I mean, you are so tight.
- 13:38You know, you look at it like, wow, he was only five tenths, two tenths slower.
- 13:42But in they look at that inside themselves, they're like, holy crap.
- 13:45That's like eons.
- 13:46Supposedly Ferrari's got an upgraded floor for this weekend for about rain.
- 13:50So it's gonna be interesting to see that could really change up the dynamics or
- 13:53give 'em that few extra tents they need.
- 13:55They're not that far behind.
- 13:56McLaren, you know, obviously we're talking, it's McLaren, then
- 14:00Mercedes, red Bull, then Ferrari.
- 14:03Well, no, I take that back probably McLaren, Mercedes, Denver, Ferrari, then
- 14:07Red Bull, because Red Bull is lacking.
- 14:09I mean, they got the best driver on the grid right now and he's
- 14:11coming out to be probably one of the greatest of all time in stopping.
- 14:14But Yuki and, and a side note, I think Liam Lawson got screwed.
- 14:19They didn't give him a chance and again.
- 14:20How's he gonna drive something and give him two raises a car?
- 14:23He never even drove everything like that.
- 14:24I mean, it's a tricky car to drive.
- 14:27I thought he got the short end of the stick on that.
- 14:29I wanna say he approved or whatever, but it's gonna be interesting to see if
- 14:32they give the whole season now to Yuki, like, yeah, all right, we're gonna just
- 14:36go the, we're gonna, we ride until we die, so to speak and see what happens.
- 14:40But you know, that's gonna kill 'em in the Constructors championship
- 14:43because as of now, max is the only one scoring points for them.
- 14:46Liam in the first two, and then Yuin and the last one in Suzuka.
- 14:49You know, they didn't score in points, so it's gonna be interesting
- 14:52to see how that plays out.
- 14:53But anyways, again, back to Lucy's request and dilemma at Ferrari.
- 14:57I. He's an old guy.
- 14:59Well, I dunno, if you look at Alonzo Lonzo's going, what?
- 15:01He's 44, 3 43 years old.
- 15:0344 years old.
- 15:03Lewis is 40, 41 years old, something like that.
- 15:06So he's only got really a few years left.
- 15:08I mean, he's still driving top level, there's no doubt about that.
- 15:10But I don't care.
- 15:11What anyone says is you age and you get older, your brain changes and the
- 15:15dynamics in your head and how you think of things and look at things changes.
- 15:19Dramatically from when you were late teens, early mid
- 15:22twenties, even late twenties.
- 15:24Brain develops.
- 15:24You get more thoughts in regards to your keeping yourself safe,
- 15:29not taking some of the risks.
- 15:30'cause I mean, you're talking, you could be in some mega crash.
- 15:33I mean, look what happened with Jack Doula, who, again, in my
- 15:35opinion, it's getting screwed by Flave Bear, Tori, which.
- 15:38Is odd because Flavio is his manager.
- 15:41I've never been a fan of Flavio.
- 15:42Uh, I think he's a piece of dirt the way he goes about business.
- 15:45I just can't stand him.
- 15:46And I can't believe Alpine.
- 15:48Alpine brought him back.
- 15:49But you know what?
- 15:50It is what it is.
- 15:51They're desperate and they're trying anything.
- 15:52So, but anyways, you know, my guess would be if Lou can prove himself this year.
- 15:57And finish in the top three in regards to points and maybe somehow some
- 16:01way they can eke out the battle with McLaren and with the Constructors
- 16:05Championship, which I just, I don't know what to see after this weekend.
- 16:08I think it'll prove it because, you know, again, 2026 season.
- 16:12Completely different regulations, completely different cars.
- 16:15The rules are changed completely.
- 16:16Now, of course the scuttlebutt is, they might put it on hold and wait till 2028
- 16:20'cause they wanna bring back v tens 'cause of the sound, blah, blah, blah.
- 16:23You know, which I think they could do, 'cause the sustainable
- 16:25fuels, everything like that.
- 16:26Instead of trying to go the hybrid route, electric route, I think they could go
- 16:29back that route because the sustainable fuels that are, could be coming out
- 16:32now that are available are phenomenal.
- 16:34The WRC runs all their cars on it.
- 16:37That would be brilliant to see.
- 16:38But F1 teams are so far into their programs in designing, building,
- 16:43and constructing their 2026 car, they would lose a ton of money.
- 16:47I dunno how you recoup that r and d and that investment saying they push it out to
- 16:52say, okay, we're gonna push this to 2028.
- 16:54We're just gonna stick with the same cars for the next two years.
- 16:57Well, three years include this season and then 2028 we're gonna drop it.
- 17:00We're, we're gonna redo it all again.
- 17:02Completely redo it.
- 17:03We're gonna do the v tens, blah, blah, blah.
- 17:04All stuff, which I would be all for because I just think it would be
- 17:07phenomenal the way they would sound.
- 17:09Of course, I'm curious to see how things sound next year.
- 17:12'cause the way they are changing up the powertrain, I think there's opportunity
- 17:16there to make 'em sound better, but.
- 17:17There is nothing, nothing like the sound of those v tens screaming.
- 17:21That is just such a glorious sound.
- 17:22Now I remember being at Indianapolis before the F1 races there and just
- 17:26standing right there at the fence.
- 17:28They were starting right there.
- 17:29The starting grid.
- 17:29Obviously they were going the opposite way, but all those cars just screaming.
- 17:33I mean, it is just, oh God, it's such a beautiful, beautiful sound.
- 17:36I was dumb enough not to be wearing, I guess, earplugs 'cause
- 17:39it was loud, but I didn't care.
- 17:40So anyways, I could see if Louis.
- 17:43They do something this year far is able to do something.
- 17:45There's no way he's gonna win the World Championship this year ain't happening.
- 17:48They might have a crack at the constructors, depending
- 17:50how things play out.
- 17:51There's some stuff where McLaren doesn't score points, their cars
- 17:53drop outta cars, anything like that.
- 17:55So right now there's a shot there.
- 17:57After a few more races, we'll see.
- 17:58No, they don't have a shot 'cause it'll be XY 'cause of
- 18:00points will just be outta whack.
- 18:01I mean, the one thing they do have going, they're both scoring points, but
- 18:04they're not getting up high enough in the points to really kind of do anything.
- 18:08But he would have to win a world championship in the next three years
- 18:12for, I think, to justify Ferrari coming out with a car like that for him.
- 18:16He hasn't been there long.
- 18:18He hasn't proven thing, he hasn't like established like, oh, he is a Ferrari guy.
- 18:20I mean.
- 18:21If anything, Ferrari comes out and calls it the Schumacher, call it the Ms.
- 18:26Ford, you know, whatever.
- 18:27Call it after Schumacher and build that way.
- 18:29You know, that I think would go over very well.
- 18:32That I feel is justified.
- 18:33Maybe after Lewis retires he can go back and go to Mercedes and they
- 18:36could come out with something special.
- 18:37You know, something along those lines.
- 18:38But Ferrari should build that car.
- 18:40Yes.
- 18:41Come out with the modern F 40.
- 18:43Put in a V 12 manual in it.
- 18:45Bare bones make that thing a screamer.
- 18:47Just sound awesome.
- 18:49I mean, obviously you got regulations, but put it in mind that
- 18:51when you build it, construct it.
- 18:53Hey, it passes all your missions and regulations for the countries it's getting
- 18:56sold in, but also keep it in the back of your mind when you engineer it that,
- 19:00okay, hey, make it easy to modify that car sound-wise, everything like that.
- 19:05Something along those lines.
- 19:06I mean, it's not that difficult to do, I don't think.
- 19:08But Ferrari definitely needs to build that car.
- 19:11I don't think it should be in the name of tribute, whatever, to Lewis Hamilton.
- 19:16He hasn't earned it yet at Ferrari.
- 19:18Has he earned something like that along the lines of his career?
- 19:21Yes, I agree with that.
- 19:23But not at Ferrari?
- 19:24Not yet.
- 19:25They're gonna do it.
- 19:26Name it in name of, uh, Schumacher.
- 19:28You know what, what was his thing in the grid?
- 19:29MSC, whatever it was.
- 19:31You know, come up with something along those lines.
- 19:33Now, like I said, r and d and development, everything.
- 19:35They have to build that road going car and do it.
- 19:37That's a multi-year endeavor.
- 19:39If they don't have something started now or kind of in the works.
- 19:43If they just start now, 'cause that's what's come out and they got like a small,
- 19:47Hey, let's just start dipping our toe into the pool so to speak with this and start
- 19:50doing some basic design, blah, blah, blah.
- 19:53That kind of stuff.
- 19:54I don't think you really gotta get so much into trying to look at budgets
- 19:57and RD, like we'd say a afforded GM does, okay, what's it gonna cost?
- 20:00Here's the budget.
- 20:00This is what you got, this is what we need to come out with, blah blah.
- 20:02It's more along the lines, Hey, whatever we can come up with, we can build it.
- 20:05'cause we can charge whatever the fuck.
- 20:07Frick we want, so you're gonna recoup your money and make a boatload off of each car.
- 20:11So I don't think that would factor in so much, but I think, you know, timeframe
- 20:14wise, but if you start now, you could have that car out in four or five years.
- 20:18So that would give enough window and just say, okay, it's internal code name.
- 20:23Is LH 44, but the actual name of the car might be something along the
- 20:28lines of at tribute to Schumacher.
- 20:30'cause Lewis just didn't do anything at Ferrari.
- 20:31I mean, I think if you leave that door open, but obviously the thing that's
- 20:34gonna kind of bite him in the asses, there's gonna be a lot of leaks.
- 20:37There's gonna be people poking their nose around and if they find out, well they
- 20:41internally, they were kind of making it like LH 44, but then they come out and
- 20:44actually name it when they start moving cars to customers, it's after Schu mark.
- 20:49I think that could create a real bad PR problem.
- 20:51So I don't know how they would address that.
- 20:53I mean.
- 20:53Keep it under the wraps, just name it something differently
- 20:56internally, you know, who knows?
- 20:57Um, call it the next awesome Ferrari.
- 21:00Something like that.
- 21:00Internally, I don't know, do something along those lines.
- 21:02But it would take them probably at least five years, maybe four, if they
- 21:06pushed it to come up with what they do.
- 21:08If you look at what they did for the SP three, the SP three was based on
- 21:12an existing chassis they already had.
- 21:13They just put the V 12 in it and did all that kinda stuff.
- 21:15So it wasn't that tars, mainly a lot of body work they did to that car and
- 21:19then inside it and everything like that.
- 21:21So it wasn't that difficult.
- 21:23To bring that car to market.
- 21:24Now this would have to be, I would think a completely new car chassis.
- 21:29They could possibly build it on that 4, 9, 9 customer version car, take that chassis
- 21:34and then do something along those lines.
- 21:36And a side note, if you have not seen that F 80 in person thing is absolutely.
- 21:41Awesome.
- 21:42I mean, you could take that chassis and do something with it, I guess the
- 21:45F 80 chassis, which is based off the 4 99 customer car, that's track only.
- 21:49So you could do something with that, that would save significant amount.
- 21:52But you know, you have the tub, you have everything.
- 21:54But then again, it's like, all right, you're gonna have to really make it look
- 21:57different than the F 80, and you're gonna have to make it something so spectacular.
- 22:02Do you make it above the F 80 in regards to performance and everything like that?
- 22:05Or do you make it a step down?
- 22:07I mean, where do you go with that?
- 22:08Because you can upset some people, so I don't know.
- 22:11It's kind of an interesting conundrum that they could have on their hands.
- 22:14'cause I don't think this is gonna go anywhere and I think this is gonna
- 22:17be a topic that's gonna be brought up for at least the near future for the
- 22:21next six to eight months, especially depending on how the season goes.
- 22:24Because if you know who Loose Hamilton wins the race or two starts
- 22:27having some success, that's gonna come to the forefront of everyone's
- 22:30conversation with anybody from Ferrari.
- 22:33So how's the RD coming on Lewis?
- 22:35Hamilton's new, uh, take on the F 40, blah blah, blah.
- 22:37You know that stuff.
- 22:38So.
- 22:38They're gonna have an interesting, uh, little, uh, thing on their
- 22:41hands coming here this year.
- 22:43So it's gonna be interesting how it plays out.
- 22:45I mean, I'm all for it.
- 22:45Like I said, it would definitely be in a Kona series car, but if
- 22:48they're gonna do it, make it a manual V 12 minimalist inside.
- 22:52Just do the what you need.
- 22:53No screens on that crap.
- 22:54Don't need it.
- 22:55Just be it where you can just plug your phone in and have everything on that.
- 22:58Make an app that once you plug your phone in, all your diagnostics,
- 23:01all that crap goes into that.
- 23:02You just give your basic gauges, your rev counter, your speedo, some oil
- 23:06pressure, your temp gauge, your gas gauge.
- 23:09That's it.
- 23:10That's all you need.
- 23:11Don't need anything else.
- 23:11And maybe, you know, put a nice clock in the one spot, maybe, I
- 23:14don't know, something on those sides.
- 23:14But that's my take on that.
- 23:16Like I said, you know, I touched on this in previous episodes in regards
- 23:20to them bringing it back a manual and stuff like that, but that was just me.
- 23:24Just swirled in my head.
- 23:26This actually has got traction because the request has been come
- 23:29from Sir Lewis Hamilton himself, so we'll see where it goes.
- 23:32It's gonna be very, very interesting to see how this plays out.
- 23:36Could you imagine it'd be pheno?
- 23:37Could you imagine how fun that 2 96 would be in a Emmanuel?
- 23:40I was at MotorTrend Road Track, how they did a little conversation
- 23:43with one of the guys, marketing, PR guy, whatever, from Ferrari.
- 23:46Their thought is, oh no, flappy paddle.
- 23:47Well, you know, is that performance?
- 23:49It's that they don't get it.
- 23:50It seems to be in regards to.
- 23:52The percentage of how these cars are driven on the road and compared, driven
- 23:55on the track, everything like that, and that visceral experience that
- 23:58you get out of driving a manual, it'd be awesome to see that, but there's
- 24:01no way to do swaps on those 'cause electronics, everything like that.
- 24:03It's just impossible.
- 24:04But it would be awesome to see if they came out and they did a
- 24:08special edition I COEs series.
- 24:10New take on F 40.
- 24:12That's my opinion.
- 24:13Appreciate it.
