- 0:00Speaker 1: Y'all, everybody's got that thing in your closet. You know,
- 0:03Speaker 1: you always reach for it. It's your favorite jeans or
- 0:05Speaker 1: that sweater that looks good or your favorite shoes, those boots,
- 0:09Speaker 1: you know, that you love. Those are the pieces that
- 0:12Speaker 1: earn a permanent place in your wardrobe. And that's exactly
- 0:16Speaker 1: what Quince does so well. So whenever I come on
- 0:19Speaker 1: here to talk to y'all about Quince, I go and
- 0:20Speaker 1: check out what's in my cart. Well, right now, nothing
- 0:22Speaker 1: is in my cart because I already bought it, okay?
- 0:25Speaker 1: The latest thing I just bought, and I'm saying it whisperingly,
- 0:29Speaker 1: So everybody goes and gets it before anybody sees it.
- 0:31Speaker 1: It's the wool cashmere tailored long coat. There's lots of colors,
- 0:37Speaker 1: but the one I got is a jacquard leopard. Oh,
- 0:40Speaker 1: my God. It's so cute. I'm going to wear it
- 0:42Speaker 1: with like jeans and a black shirt and my new
- 0:44Speaker 1: Quince black booties. Perfection. So be sure when you log
- 0:48Speaker 1: on to Quince. you always go to that new arrivals tab.
- 0:52Speaker 1: That's where all the new stuff is. You know that
- 0:54Speaker 1: Quince makes these elevated everyday essentials using the premium materials
- 0:58Speaker 1: like Mongolian cashmere, and those sweaters start at $ 50. So
- 1:04Speaker 1: they use the organic cotton that I love, the premium
- 1:07Speaker 1: stretch denim, and the designs are timeless and made to
- 1:10Speaker 1: be worn again and again. Again, these are the things
- 1:12Speaker 1: you always reach for. And as the weather gets colder,
- 1:15Speaker 1: Quince has everything you need to round out your wardrobe.
- 1:18Speaker 1: from warm, responsibly sourced down jackets and cozy cashmere scarves
- 1:22Speaker 1: and gloves. And everything at Quince is priced 50 to
- 1:26Speaker 1: 80% less than similar brands. They work directly with ethical
- 1:29Speaker 1: factories and cut out the middlemen. So if you're paying
- 1:32Speaker 1: for quality, not that markup. It's luxury without the luxury price.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Quince has everything. They have furniture, jewelry, candles, gifts, skincare.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And I just noticed in that new arrivals tab, that

- 2:03Speaker 1: available in Canada and the UK, too.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Whoop, whoop!
- 2:06Speaker 1: And when Quince asks where you heard about them, let
- 2:09Speaker 1: them know it was Pink Shade. It's the best way
- 2:12Speaker 1: to support the show. How are y'all doing? Yeah, it's good.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I've interviewed you guys before. It was a couple of
- 2:35Speaker 1: years ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, let's get started. They
- 2:39Speaker 1: gave me like a teeny bit of time for three people,
- 2:42Speaker 1: so let's do it. All right, so Dr. Ish, I
- 2:47Speaker 1: was not familiar with you, but when they announced this
- 2:50Speaker 1: show and they were showing that it was Dr. Ish,
- 2:53Speaker 1: everybody I knew went completely nuts. They're like, you're going
- 2:57Speaker 1: to die at how great Dr.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Ish is. Well, I appreciate that. Thank you so much
- 3:04Speaker 3: for that. Hopefully they're dying and they can be resuscitated.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But it's just one of those things I really enjoy doing.
- 3:15Speaker 2: The more real it is for me, then the better
- 3:18Speaker 2: it is for the folks I get to work with.
- 3:21Speaker 2: The one place I want to be more than any
- 3:23Speaker 2: place else is I want to be in the room
- 3:25Speaker 2: working with the people so that when they walk out
- 3:27Speaker 2: of the room, you do it a little bit, you
- 3:29Speaker 2: walk out a little bit lighter than when you walked in.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And so it's just an honor for me to be
- 3:34Speaker 2: able to do it.
- 3:34Speaker 3: It really is.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I think with my experience with therapy is even if
- 3:38Speaker 1: you go in and you have nothing to talk about
- 3:40Speaker 1: or you feel like I'm boring, you always leave with
- 3:43Speaker 1: just something that you're thinking about. And that to me
- 3:46Speaker 1: is a good therapy session because even if you go
- 3:48Speaker 1: in like, this is a waste of my time today,
- 3:50Speaker 1: you leave and you go, but it did get me
- 3:53Speaker 1: thinking about that one thing, right?
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Well, I have a question about this place where you
- 3:59Speaker 1: guys were shooting. Where was it located? Because it seemed
- 4:02Speaker 1: to be uncomfortable and had bugs.
- 4:07Speaker 3: So we're in the north, just north of L.A.
- 4:11Speaker 2: On literally a ranch designed for a retreat. I walked
- 4:17Speaker 2: in and it looks like the set from The Bachelor.
- 4:21Speaker 2: And they were like, well, that's funny you say that
- 4:23Speaker 2: because they shoot that right across the street.
- 4:26Speaker 3: So it's the.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Exact same type of thing, but it's designed as a retreat.
- 4:29Speaker 3: It's nature. It's healing.
- 4:31Speaker 2: We hear the birds. We see the squirrels. And we're
- 4:35Speaker 2: reminded that our part in this is a little bit
- 4:39Speaker 2: smaller than maybe we're thinking. And when you get guys
- 4:43Speaker 2: in there like Mike, you need something to kind of
- 4:46Speaker 2: soften the edges. I want them out there fishing and
- 4:49Speaker 2: looking at the squirrels and hearing the birds chirping in
- 4:52Speaker 2: the trees.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Well, I heard this room is cold and I don't
- 4:56Speaker 1: like these bugs. That's what I heard.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I was just looking for reasons to complain.
- 5:05Speaker 5: I'm the worst thing.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I can't deal with cold room bugs.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That's what everybody's like. Weren't these guys in prison and
- 5:12Speaker 1: they're all complaining about bugs? So this was eight days
- 5:19Speaker 1: of all-day therapy, right? Like groups and breakouts and all that?
- 5:24Speaker 3: Yes. Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Intensive. An eight-day intensive. Think about a 30-day rehab program.
- 5:31Speaker 2: What I did was boil it down and condense it
- 5:34Speaker 2: down into what are the core things.
- 5:36Speaker 3: We need to do in eight days. It's a long,
- 5:38Speaker 3: tough eight days. You agree?
- 5:43Speaker 5: It was draining. That's the best.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I felt emotionally drained every day.
- 5:48Speaker 4: What he basically enlightened us with was, yo, there's work
- 5:53Speaker 4: to do within yourself that will fatigue you because it's that.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Much you got to dig up. And I'm not going
- 5:59Speaker 5: to lie. I mean, I think when we left, we
- 6:01Speaker 5: left a little bit, to be honest.
- 6:04Speaker 4: And I'm, you know, for me to say that, especially
- 6:06Speaker 4: coming on the show and expressing how I didn't believe
- 6:09Speaker 4: in the practice.
- 6:11Speaker 6: Which was very wrong for me to say, because, you know,
- 6:13Speaker 6: I mean, everyone isn't the same.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I don't think so, but it's honest.
- 6:17Speaker 5: But I was being honest. As honest. I was being
- 6:19Speaker 5: as honest as I could be.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Because, I mean, for me to give you a reason
- 6:22Speaker 4: to why I didn't believe in this practice would have
- 6:24Speaker 4: not been true.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:26Speaker 6: So, I mean, I felt like I was keeping it real.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you had to because if you go in there
- 6:31Speaker 1: and pretend he's going to figure that out anyway, but
- 6:34Speaker 1: then you've wasted everybody's time, you know?
- 6:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Well, after watching episode two, which was the one where
- 6:41Speaker 1: you all pulled the bands that had your trauma, I
- 6:44Speaker 1: was like, Dr. Ish and Yusuf, the guy that does
- 6:49Speaker 1: the prison reform advocacy.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 1: These two guys should be on every Love After Lockup show.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Everybody needs that.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 6: Yusuf was great.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Incredible. And what a great story for these guys and
- 7:06Speaker 1: girls to hear somebody that's like, I'm walking the walk.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I'm talking the talk. I've been there. And here's what
- 7:12Speaker 1: I've done.
- 7:12Speaker 5: You know?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it's powerful when you have a real
- 7:15Speaker 2: life example. Yusuf has been there, done that, and is
- 7:19Speaker 2: doing that and is making sure that folks who have
- 7:23Speaker 2: to come after him, because we're going to have.
- 7:26Speaker 3: To deal with that.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Nobody watching this is more than three degrees separation away
- 7:31Speaker 2: from somebody who's been impacted by it. In our house,
- 7:34Speaker 2: somebody we love, a parent, somebody we care about, it's
- 7:39Speaker 2: right there. We're confronting it every day. And so I
- 7:41Speaker 2: think for folks, when we get Folks like Mike and
- 7:44Speaker 2: Justine come in and say, they hear it a little
- 7:48Speaker 2: bit when I say it. You can do it and
- 7:50Speaker 2: I believe in you. But when you see.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Somebody who's done it, who's lived it, it's like, dude,
- 7:55Speaker 3: I was you. I know how that was the first day.
- 7:59Speaker 3: And let me show you how I did it.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Now he can leave some breadcrumbs and now we can
- 8:04Speaker 2: believe a little bit more.
- 8:06Speaker 4: And it's impactful because, you know, you learn things that
- 8:08Speaker 4: you can help others with.
- 8:11Speaker 5: I mean, since we came back, man, we've been preaching
- 8:13Speaker 5: like we you.
- 8:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 5: People we good, man. You know, that's what it's about.
- 8:18Speaker 6: It's about, especially when something makes you feel good.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Yeah. You know?
- 8:22Speaker 1: Y'all know how you see the social media posts like,
- 8:25Speaker 1: what's in your bag? Where's this girl going? What are
- 8:27Speaker 1: you doing? Well, let me tell you what's in my bag, okay?
- 8:29Speaker 1: It's very exciting. It's breath mints, my reading glasses, my wallet,
- 8:33Speaker 1: my keys, and my Thrive Cosmetics liquid lash extensions mascara,
- 8:38Speaker 1: my lip stain, and their Focus eyeshadow palette has a
- 8:41Speaker 1: mirror so you can check yourself before you wreck yourself. Like,
- 8:44Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times I used that
- 8:46Speaker 1: mirror while we were in New York. And lately, I'm
- 8:48Speaker 1: just super into Thrive's Lasting Mark Lip Defining Stain. That's
- 8:53Speaker 1: also a great thing to have in your bag because
- 8:55Speaker 1: you can use it all day. I'm like lining my
- 8:57Speaker 1: lips with that stuff as much as Lisa Barlow is, okay?
- 9:00Speaker 1: But sometimes really a lip stain will dry your lips out.
- 9:02Speaker 1: But this one is hydrating and kind of feels like
- 9:04Speaker 1: your bare lips instead of being, ew, like a dry lip.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So for me, I can throw on Thrive's mascara and
- 9:11Speaker 1: this lip stain and be ready to go out into
- 9:13Speaker 1: the world for the entire day. That's all I need.
- 9:16Speaker 1: And did you know, I'm sure you did, For every
- 9:18Speaker 1: product purchased, Thrive Cosmetics donates products and funds to help
- 9:22Speaker 1: communities thrive. Over $ 185 million in product and cash donations
- 9:28Speaker 1: to over 700 plus giving partners.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Hello.
- 9:30Speaker 1: They really, really put their money where their mouth is,
- 9:32Speaker 1: you guys, with Thrive. And all of their products are,
- 9:34Speaker 1: of course, 100% vegan. cruelty-free and made with clean, skin-loving
- 9:39Speaker 1: ingredients that work with you and not against you. And
- 9:43Speaker 1: that is what we need as ladies of a certain age. So,
- 9:46Speaker 1: get your new Everyday Favorites and have 20% off your order.
- 9:49Speaker 1: That's 20% off your first order at thrivecosmetics.com slash pinkshade, okay?
- 9:55Speaker 1: 20% off your first order at thrivecosmetics.com slash pinkshade. That's
- 10:00Speaker 1: Thrive Cosmetics, C-A-U-S-E-M-E-T-I-C-S.com slash pinkshade and tell them we sent you. Dr. Ish,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you said on the first episode, if you're not changing
- 10:16Speaker 1: your choosing, And I was like, okay, well, now I'm
- 10:18Speaker 1: going to say that every day. I'm going to... You
- 10:22Speaker 1: didn't load the dishwasher if you're not changing your juice.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm using it. So, okay. We did see on episode
- 10:31Speaker 1: two that Marcelino and Brittany really sort of got into
- 10:36Speaker 1: their issues. Fascinating, because we've been watching them on this show,
- 10:40Speaker 1: I feel like, 10 years and found out so much
- 10:43Speaker 1: about them that we didn't know. But now... Another thing
- 10:47Speaker 1: on episode two that really bothered me was Joey was
- 10:51Speaker 1: so flippant about stealing what we thought was $ 90 was $ 90, 000
- 10:57Speaker 1: from his grandmother and then saying, but she should be
- 11:00Speaker 1: grateful I didn't take the whole 400K. Now, this seems
- 11:05Speaker 1: like a guy who's not working a program to me.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Well, at that point, he wasn't. Right.
- 11:12Speaker 2: At that point, the drugs were working him. You know,
- 11:16Speaker 2: anybody who's been addicted or struggle with substance use, it
- 11:19Speaker 2: is all about the one thing. What do I need
- 11:22Speaker 2: to do? Trade, buy, sell, or steal today so I
- 11:26Speaker 2: can get high by the end of this day. And
- 11:29Speaker 2: it all just, nevermind. So that's, he was giving you
- 11:32Speaker 2: an honest portrayal of where he was at that time.
- 11:35Speaker 3: She's got 400K.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I only took 90 because I could have used the
- 11:39Speaker 2: other 310. I really could have. And so it's just a,
- 11:43Speaker 2: harsh reality, right? Once we've got that one goal, that's
- 11:46Speaker 2: where Joey was.
- 11:47Speaker 3: He was like, whatever. Beg, borrow, steal.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I'll do what I got to do to get that
- 11:52Speaker 2: next high. And that's how deep it is for you.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Especially when you're talking about opiate addiction.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Oh. It tells you whether life means something or not.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And when those cells sit empty, if your life feels
- 12:05Speaker 2: empty and you will steal from grandma, granddad, you'll steal
- 12:08Speaker 2: from your grandkid if you have to, to get that thing.
- 12:12Speaker 1: It was telling. It was telling. Now, Justine and Michael,
- 12:16Speaker 1: we get into episode three, which is the one that's
- 12:19Speaker 1: this Friday. And this was, it was rough. It was
- 12:25Speaker 1: rough because, you know, both of you come, everybody on
- 12:28Speaker 1: the show comes with their own traumas and nobody's is,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you know, bigger, worse, more important, less important. But you,
- 12:33Speaker 1: we kind of focused on you guys in this episode three.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And we see Michael like, just like really break down.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And said something similar that Joey had said was like,
- 12:44Speaker 1: I don't even know if I'm good enough to be
- 12:47Speaker 1: in this relationship, to be a father, to be a husband.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And Joey had said something similar like, I feel like
- 12:53Speaker 1: I should protect the people in my life from me.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And Michael didn't say the same thing, but he sort
- 12:58Speaker 1: of said similarly like, with my background, I'm so broken.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm even meant to be in
- 13:05Speaker 1: this relationship. Now, you guys got nine kids, so you're there.
- 13:09Speaker 1: You guys are there. But like... When you're watching it back, Michael,
- 13:13Speaker 1: and you see yourself just so raw, and I thought
- 13:17Speaker 1: it was so special when Marcelino was telling you, speaking
- 13:20Speaker 1: in Spanish, telling you to be softer. I was like, okay,
- 13:24Speaker 1: this is going to work. Everybody's going to help each other.
- 13:27Speaker 1: But Michael, my question for you was like, how did
- 13:29Speaker 1: you feel seeing it back? Or if you haven't seen
- 13:32Speaker 1: it back, I don't know. I've seen it. It was
- 13:35Speaker 1: heartbreaking to see how hard you're struggling to stay and
- 13:39Speaker 1: work on this for Justine.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I mean, to be honest, I've never been the type
- 13:45Speaker 4: to really speak about what I'm feeling, especially if it
- 13:49Speaker 4: bothers me because, you know what I'm saying, I've internalized
- 13:52Speaker 4: my whole life.
- 13:53Speaker 6: But it's getting heavy. It's getting heavy and I can
- 13:57Speaker 6: feel it.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 6: I'm saying that. It just gets to a point where
- 14:02Speaker 6: you just got to be honest.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Be real.
- 14:06Speaker 4: And you can't hide behind whatever you think it is.
- 14:11Speaker 4: It's how the people are supposed to perceive you.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Well, I got to tell you, I was blown away
- 14:20Speaker 1: with how open you were. And I loved the moment
- 14:22Speaker 1: between you and Marcelino where you two really bonded. And
- 14:27Speaker 1: he is telling you, I know as a, you know,
- 14:29Speaker 1: machismo man as well, like you gotta be softer and
- 14:33Speaker 1: you really heard that. And I loved that. And then
- 14:37Speaker 1: I loved how Justine came in and said, you can
- 14:41Speaker 1: be soft, you can be hard, you can fuck up,
- 14:43Speaker 1: you can not, like, I'm going to love you no
- 14:46Speaker 1: matter what. And you guys have been together for a
- 14:48Speaker 1: long time, but it was like, I felt like it
- 14:50Speaker 1: was like with Dr. Ish sitting there, I felt like
- 14:52Speaker 1: it was such a breakthrough. Is that how you felt, Justine?
- 14:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I definitely felt like it was a breakthrough when
- 14:59Speaker 7: we had our session with just the three of us. And,
- 15:02Speaker 7: you know, I was as emotional as I was because
- 15:05Speaker 7: I'm also digging up my traumas and going, maybe I'm
- 15:09Speaker 7: extremely happy for my husband that he's hitting those lows
- 15:12Speaker 7: so we can pick it up from there and we
- 15:14Speaker 7: can work through things. You know, if he doesn't hit
- 15:16Speaker 7: those spaces for himself, then we're not going to be
- 15:19Speaker 7: able to go up because he's still going to be
- 15:20Speaker 7: holding on to the trauma, the pain and everything else. So,
- 15:24Speaker 7: you know, I feel like since we had that breakthrough,
- 15:26Speaker 7: we've really been moving forward as a couple. We've been
- 15:29Speaker 7: a lot more open and I feel like we definitely
- 15:32Speaker 7: needed to hit that place in our relationship and personally
- 15:36Speaker 7: on this show.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it was very powerful to watch. And
- 15:40Speaker 1: the same with Brittany and Marcelino, just seeing them sort
- 15:43Speaker 1: of acknowledging in each other, you know, this past trauma
- 15:47Speaker 1: affected me. And Justine, you were very open about what
- 15:51Speaker 1: happened to you, and I believe it was your first marriage?
- 15:55Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 15:57Speaker 1: And my question is, have you had any contact with
- 16:02Speaker 1: that man? Does he have any contact with your children
- 16:04Speaker 1: at all?
- 16:06Speaker 3: Um.
- 16:08Speaker 7: It's not something that I usually touch upon like on
- 16:12Speaker 7: previous seasons.
- 16:13Speaker 3: It's something I've kind of kept private.
- 16:15Speaker 7: But at this moment in time when we were in therapy,
- 16:18Speaker 7: I brought it up because I know it was something
- 16:21Speaker 7: I was carrying and it was pain still there. And
- 16:23Speaker 7: it would prevent me from getting to the places I
- 16:26Speaker 7: wanted to be with Michael. At this current point, he
- 16:32Speaker 7: probably has little to nothing to do with the children
- 16:35Speaker 7: and hasn't. He hasn't used his schedule time, which is
- 16:38Speaker 7: the summertime, for the entirety of our divorce that we've had. So,
- 16:44Speaker 7: you know, I'm primary parent all the time.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yes. Well, after the story that you told, you would
- 16:52Speaker 1: think that you're probably very grateful for that, that your
- 16:55Speaker 1: children aren't around someone like that, right?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yes.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Well, Justine, how are things with your mom? We've seen
- 17:02Speaker 1: your mom a lot and we've seen Michael's mom a lot.
- 17:04Speaker 1: So how are things going with your families?
- 17:07Speaker 3: You know, I know you guys.
- 17:09Speaker 7: Have seen the relationship with me and my mom over
- 17:13Speaker 7: the years. And I can say that not much has changed.
- 17:17Speaker 2: You know, we.
- 17:19Speaker 7: Still have a very strained relationship. But at this point,
- 17:22Speaker 7: I'm more focused on how I want to be as
- 17:25Speaker 7: a mom and what I've learned from the relationship I
- 17:29Speaker 7: have with my own mom. You know, a lot into
- 17:32Speaker 7: my relationship with my children. It's a very important relationship.
- 17:35Speaker 2: That I have.
- 17:36Speaker 7: And, you know, I feel like if anybody had to
- 17:39Speaker 7: go through a struggled relationship with their parent, I'd rather
- 17:41Speaker 7: be me than me going through it with my children.
- 17:44Speaker 3: So the way I look at it is, you know,
- 17:46Speaker 3: I kind of took one for the team. And that's
- 17:47Speaker 3: just what it is.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Y'all, if you know me, you know how obsessed I
- 17:52Speaker 1: am with The RealReal. I have been a member since
- 17:54Speaker 1: January of 2019. And I'm on that site every week.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I mean, maybe every day. But sometimes I go on
- 18:01Speaker 1: the app and I'm just browsing. But a lot of
- 18:03Speaker 1: times I have something very specific in mind that I'm
- 18:05Speaker 1: hunting for. Lately, my mission has been gifts. I love
- 18:09Speaker 1: to get gifts. Yes, I do. But I also really
- 18:12Speaker 1: love to give gifts. And, you know, you can shop
- 18:14Speaker 1: your favorite luxury brands from the comfort of your own
- 18:16Speaker 1: couch with over 10,000 arrivals dropping every day. And I
- 18:20Speaker 1: really do love to find that perfect gift for people
- 18:22Speaker 1: in my life. I even got my husband an amazing wallet.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And speaking of gifts, I got myself the cutest small
- 18:30Speaker 1: pink patent leather Louis Vuitton bag. It's perfect for a
- 18:34Speaker 1: night out. It was very reasonably priced. I use it
- 18:37Speaker 1: constantly and people always ask me where I got it.
- 18:39Speaker 1: It's adorable. And yeah, okay, I love to buy on
- 18:42Speaker 1: the real real, but my main jam is selling with
- 18:45Speaker 1: the real real. Because when you sell with the real real,
- 18:48Speaker 1: they do everything for you. from photography and writing the

- 18:57Speaker 1: have one coming to my house next week for a
- 18:59Speaker 1: few things I'm trying to sell. You literally just sit back,
- 19:03Speaker 1: let them do the work, and you get paid. They

- 19:50Speaker 1: family doing?
- 19:53Speaker 6: Fuck my family, to be honest.
- 19:56Speaker 2: All right.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Like, my one and only, I don't really care what
- 20:01Speaker 4: they have to say. My family's real judgmental, real narcissistic.
- 20:05Speaker 4: So we were breaking generational curses here.
- 20:08Speaker 3: I don't want that.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Involved in my family. You know, if you can't be
- 20:13Speaker 4: real and you can't show empathy and, and, and, and
- 20:16Speaker 4: respect people for being humans, then I don't want you
- 20:19Speaker 4: a part of my life. I need that very clear.
- 20:22Speaker 4: And after losing my sister, I'm not playing no more games.
- 20:25Speaker 4: I'm just, I'm going to tell my truth.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I'm very sorry to hear about your sister
- 20:31Speaker 1: and you guys have been through so much. And I
- 20:34Speaker 1: got to say that I think you two and then
- 20:36Speaker 1: Brittany and Marcelino are you know, in all their scenes,
- 20:39Speaker 1: even now when they're separating, I feel that you guys
- 20:42Speaker 1: are really great examples of this show. And I think
- 20:45Speaker 1: that Marcelino said it and he said it before that
- 20:48Speaker 1: he really views the show as a way to combat recidivism,
- 20:53Speaker 1: to show that people can come out and make a
- 20:57Speaker 1: difference and they can build on these relationships. And I,
- 21:00Speaker 1: this relationship rehab show with Dr. Ish, I think, It's
- 21:05Speaker 1: the best iteration of Love After Lockup we've had because
- 21:08Speaker 1: it's so real and it's showing us, you know, like
- 21:11Speaker 1: Alexis and Julius, we don't know them as well, you know,
- 21:13Speaker 1: as viewers, as we know you guys, but it's still
- 21:16Speaker 1: fascinating to see them. So I think this iteration is
- 21:21Speaker 1: really good and I'm hoping they're going to do more
- 21:24Speaker 1: of it because as somebody who's watched every episode, every season,
- 21:27Speaker 1: every iteration, I've got suggestions of couples that could go
- 21:31Speaker 1: on here. But I'm glad that they started off with
- 21:35Speaker 1: like some OGs like you guys.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 2: One of the takeaways for me was if we think about,
- 21:42Speaker 2: you know, whatever your favorite platform is, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook.
- 21:46Speaker 3: One of the things we're.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Talking about now is, you know, I need a guy
- 21:50Speaker 2: to be a guy, but I also need him to
- 21:53Speaker 2: be emotionally available and kind of show that side. So
- 21:56Speaker 2: one of the cool things that you guys were able
- 21:58Speaker 2: to do, once Michael went there and he shared Right.
- 22:04Speaker 3: This is why I have the chip on my shoulder.
- 22:06Speaker 3: This is why I put the mask on. This is
- 22:08Speaker 3: why I show up so angry sometimes. Right.
- 22:11Speaker 2: One of the things that we will hear our young
- 22:13Speaker 2: people say online, especially our guys, they're like, listen, OK,
- 22:17Speaker 2: I'll go there. I'll share some stuff with you. But
- 22:20Speaker 2: the next time we have an argument, you're going to
- 22:22Speaker 2: throw that back in my face.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Right.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:25Speaker 3: You're going to call me.
- 22:26Speaker 2: A simp and you're going to call me soft and
- 22:28Speaker 2: you're going to call me all these things. And I
- 22:30Speaker 2: will never, ever go there again. One of the cool
- 22:33Speaker 2: things is just.
- 22:36Speaker 6: Threw Michael a parade for going there.
- 22:39Speaker 3: She was like, I am so.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Proud of you.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Thank you for doing it. It's like, now this is
- 22:45Speaker 2: the guy I've been waiting to show up for. And
- 22:47Speaker 2: look what they're doing right now. ABT therapy, always be touching.
- 22:54Speaker 2: That's just a huge takeaway. When somebody's got the courage
- 22:58Speaker 2: to share their truth with you.
- 23:00Speaker 3: You're trusting your partner to hold it in a way
- 23:03Speaker 3: that doesn't embarrass you, doesn't diminish you.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:06Speaker 3: And it builds you both up. And when I saw that,
- 23:08Speaker 3: I was like, you know what?
- 23:09Speaker 2: I think they're going to do it. I think they're
- 23:11Speaker 2: going to get it together because they handled each other's truths,
- 23:14Speaker 2: which are heavy, heavy truths.
- 23:16Speaker 5: Heavy.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Justine went through. Nobody should have to go through that.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Totally.
- 23:21Speaker 3: No mom should ever have to show up and see
- 23:23Speaker 3: her daughter looking like that.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Right.
- 23:25Speaker 2: So Michael went through stuff your uncle did, man.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Horrible.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Horrible. It diminishes you. It dehumanizes you. Right. And that poverty,
- 23:35Speaker 3: it doesn't put a chip on your shoulder. It puts
- 23:37Speaker 3: a bowling ball on your shoulder. You never feel that way.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Truth of who each other is in a way as
- 23:46Speaker 2: compassionately as they did. Then you got something special. And
- 23:50Speaker 2: I think that's what the audience is seeing. It's like, OK,
- 23:52Speaker 2: we're watching something very, very special.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Well, I want to thank both of you for being
- 23:58Speaker 1: on this show as like OGs and for us as,
- 24:02Speaker 1: you know, longtime fans of the show to see a
- 24:06Speaker 1: completely different side of you and to really see sort
- 24:10Speaker 1: of it's sort of like a behind the music. You know,
- 24:13Speaker 1: it's like a it's like a before we knew you
- 24:15Speaker 1: guys and you came on the show. what happened to
- 24:18Speaker 1: get you where you were. And I'm looking forward to,
- 24:21Speaker 1: you know, more about Melissa and Louie and Joey and Kimberly.
- 24:27Speaker 1: He's got to find it.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Louie's got to find the hummus. That's the key.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I related to that because every mom in a house,
- 24:40Speaker 1: if somebody doesn't ask me, where are my shoes? Where
- 24:43Speaker 1: are my keys? Where's the milk? Did we buy creamer?
- 24:46Speaker 1: I thought we had more toilet paper. I'm like, eyeballs
- 24:50Speaker 1: work just like mine. And I always say, if I
- 24:53Speaker 1: have to get up and come and find it and
- 24:55Speaker 1: it's right there, somebody's not going to be happy because
- 25:00Speaker 1: it happens a thousand times a day. So when she
- 25:02Speaker 1: said he can't find the hummus because he doesn't move something,
- 25:05Speaker 1: I was like, I went on a rant on my
- 25:07Speaker 1: show about, oh my God, just quit asking me where's
- 25:12Speaker 1: the hummus. But I do want to thank all of
- 25:14Speaker 1: you that are doing this show. I'm really looking forward
- 25:19Speaker 1: to seeing what's coming. And Dr. Ish, I'm so excited
- 25:22Speaker 1: to get to know you. And I loved when Michael's
- 25:25Speaker 1: like Justine and all the women in my family love Dr.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Ish.
- 25:28Speaker 1: So like immediately he's like, this is going to be hard.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:33Speaker 1: So I hope to see more of you on these
- 25:35Speaker 1: Love After Lockup shows. And I love seeing Justine and
- 25:39Speaker 1: Michael again. And you guys are really doing great on
- 25:44Speaker 1: this show. And I really love seeing it. So love
- 25:46Speaker 1: to you and all your kids and all that stuff.
