- 0:003 lifelong friends, 6 trusty balls and endless NFL ticks.
- 0:05Welcome to three guys 6 balls NFL podcast.
- 0:08Welcome to episode 62 of three guys 6 balls NFL podcast.
- 0:11I'm your host Joel and I'm here with my Co host Will.
- 0:14I'm back from my vacation, but Avery is still not with us
- 0:17because he's on his honeymoon. Will, how did you feel last week
- 0:20with it being your second time as host?
- 0:22A bit smoother than the first. It helped that I was not that
- 0:26I'm not comfortable with Avery, she was just Avery had the first
- 0:28time, but it was my own brother with me and so.
- 0:31I mean Avery does make me uncomfortable too so I I get.
- 0:34It well that that's different though.
- 0:35I mean, I, I don't think we're allowed to talk about that
- 0:37legally yet. So it's fine.
- 0:40It was, you know, just me and my brother.
- 0:42And so we just hung out. We chilled.
- 0:44It was, it was all good. So I don't know, it was fine,
- 0:48felt good, felt fluid. They get to closing right this
- 0:51time. You did.
- 0:52You did remind everybody to keep their balls played with, so I
- 0:55was proud of you. It was a little hard listening
- 0:57to you guys try to remember and pronounce some of these names.
- 1:00I'm not going to lie, but that's, you know, I should be
- 1:03used to that by. Now look, I've never going to
- 1:06claim I know people. I know pronunciations, I know
- 1:08people's names. I can barely say any word.
- 1:11You've heard me talk. I don't speak.
- 1:13Good. So here we are.
- 1:15Do another thing. If only podcast equipment was
- 1:18more expensive, right? Right.
- 1:23All right, well, let's get into our topic for today.
- 1:25So the 2026 NFL Draft just happened a few weeks ago.
- 1:28And so now that we know what teams these guys are playing
- 1:31for, it gives us a little bit more clarity on the role these
- 1:34rookies are going to play during the rookie seasons.
- 1:35So what we're going to do today is some rookie in or outtakes.
- 1:39And I want to shout out the Cheese Heads and the Bear
- 1:41Podcast because they do these in or outtakes all the time.
- 1:44So that's kind of where I got this idea from.
- 1:46So what we're going to do is, well, I'm going to give you a
- 1:48take and then you tell me if you're in or out on that take
- 1:52and why. So our first one here is we will
- 1:57see a rookie with 10 plus sacks this season.
- 2:00Are you in or out on that take? Of course you're starting with
- 2:03that one. Give me one second, please.
- 2:06So last year, I'm sure you've got all this stuff radio, but
- 2:09last year we had one rookie with 10 sacks, you 10 1/2 sacks.
- 2:14James Pierce, first round pick for Atlanta.
- 2:17I don't think we do it. There was some pretty big
- 2:19headlining names in the defensive line and linebacker
- 2:22core. You've got your David Bailey,
- 2:24you've got your Arville Reese, you've got your Finnish styles.
- 2:26Linebacker, not quite as much, but but you're Reuben Bain.
- 2:30Yeah, a key mess door. You've got some big names here.
- 2:33Well, big draft names here in your top round for potential to
- 2:38get there. I just don't think anybody does
- 2:40it this year. I think that the NFL is shifting
- 2:43styles again to where we are. And I've talked about this a
- 2:46couple Times Now where we're getting away from the pure
- 2:48passing lead and we're getting more into the disguise.
- 2:52Our offense, again, we're not just trying to throw the ball 60
- 2:54times, we're trying to run the ball more.
- 2:57We're coming. We're shifting back into a run
- 2:59first team, a run first league and then play action after it.
- 3:04And so I, I think sack numbers are exceeding to go down just as
- 3:08a whole. And I, I don't think the rookies
- 3:10are going to, I don't think they're going to underperform.
- 3:13I don't know what the sack codes are in the betting world for
- 3:16these rookies. I'm sure the numbers were out
- 3:18there. I'm not quite that degenerative
- 3:19A gambler, but I I just, I don't think we need anybody with 10
- 3:221/2 sacks or 10 sacks this year, rookie wise at least.
- 3:25Yeah, I'm going to go out on this one as well.
- 3:28And the reason is, is because the way I broke this down was I
- 3:31first started by looking at historical data.
- 3:34And in the history of the NFL, there's only been 37 players who
- 3:37have recorded 10 plus sacks in the rookie season.
- 3:40So we saw it last year with James Pierce junior for the
- 3:42Falcons, but including him we've only seen six rookies with 10
- 3:46plus sacks in the rookie years over the last ten seasons.
- 3:49So those six players are James Spears, Junior, Micah Parsons,
- 3:52Max Crosby, Josh Hines, Allen, Bradley Chubb, and Joey Bosa.
- 3:57Now out of those 37 total players 29 of them have been
- 4:01first round picks which is 78.3%.
- 4:04So to me that tells me if any of these rookies were able to do it
- 4:08is likely going to be a player that was picked in the first
- 4:10round. So that leaves us with I think 6
- 4:13players because RR Reese. And the reason I didn't pick RR
- 4:16Reese is because we don't know where he's going to play, right?
- 4:20Right. He could be an edge rusher, he
- 4:22could be playing a linebacker. We just don't know where he's
- 4:24going to be playing full time. And he could do both.
- 4:26We don't know. So I feel like the fact that
- 4:28he's probably going to be doing both makes it so he's not going
- 4:31to get 10 plus sacks. So the other guys is David
- 4:34Bailey, Ruben Bain, Junior Aquin Mizador, Malachi Lawrence and
- 4:38Keltrick Falk. Well, I can tell you right now
- 4:40it's not going to be Keltrick Falk.
- 4:41He's just not a refined pass rusher.
- 4:43And so I feel like if he is ever going to get 10 plus sacks, I
- 4:46think it's going to be at least three years down the road for
- 4:48Malachi Lawrence. I think he's going to be a good
- 4:51player, but I don't think it's going to be him.
- 4:52And that's not a knock on him at all.
- 4:54It's just because I feel like Dallas doesn't have a number one
- 4:57pass rusher right now. I feel like they've done a
- 4:59really nice job of improving their pass rush, but I feel like
- 5:01what they have is several guys who are good pass rushers, but
- 5:05none of them are standout pass rushers.
- 5:07So I just feel like because they don't have a standout guy,
- 5:09there's not going to be anybody to take attention away from
- 5:12Malachi Lawrence and free him up as a rusher.
- 5:16So that leaves David Bailey, Ruben Bayne Junior and Akim
- 5:18Ezidor and as much as I would love for it to be Ruben Bayne, I
- 5:22don't think it's going to be him and that's because I think he's
- 5:25going to be viewed as the number one pass rush threat for the
- 5:28Buccaneers. So last year Yaya Diabi led the
- 5:31team in sacks with 7 and outside of him there's not much else.
- 5:34So I think what happens is is Ruben Bain junior ends up being
- 5:37in like the seven sack range, but he helps take pressure off
- 5:41of Diabi and helps him get 10 sacks rather than Bain being the
- 5:44one to get 10 sacks. So let's not walk away from his
- 5:48baby arms. And that's just going to be a
- 5:51problem for that's just going to be a problem for him.
- 5:53It's just going to be a problem. For him, I was never concerned
- 5:56about that anyway. So with David Bailey and Hakeem
- 6:03Ezador, I feel like David Bailey is kind of in the same situation
- 6:07as Reuben Bain. I don't think David Bailey is
- 6:08going to be the number one pass rusher on his team, but I think
- 6:11he's going to take attention away from Will McDonald and
- 6:14allow McDonald's to get his sack numbers up.
- 6:16McDonald's coming off a year where he had eight sacks, but
- 6:19the year before that he had 10 1/2.
- 6:20So I think David Bailey, like Reuben Bain, helps someone, one
- 6:24else on their team get 10 plus sacks.
- 6:26And so for me, if there was any rookie that's going to get 10
- 6:29plus sacks, I think it's going to be a key.
- 6:31Mizdor because I think he is the most NFL ready pass rusher in
- 6:35this draft. But I also think that the
- 6:38Chargers have multiple guys on their defense who teams have to
- 6:41worry about as pass rushers. So Twi Pelotu had 13 sacks last
- 6:44season, so he's going to require attention.
- 6:46Khalil Mack isn't what it used to be, but he's going to require
- 6:49attention. And their defensive tackle had
- 6:51six sacks last year, so they have multiple guys who can get
- 6:54after the quarterback. And so I feel like a key Mesador
- 6:56could be the forgotten guy on that defense.
- 6:59And so if anybody was going to do it, I feel like it's going to
- 7:02be a key Mesador. But I don't think we see any
- 7:05rookie this year with 10 plus sacks.
- 7:07Agreed. Well, let's move on to our next
- 7:09one here. This is we will see a rookie
- 7:12wide receiver with 1000 yards this season.
- 7:15Are you in or out? So we had three rookie receivers
- 7:21last year that had over 800 receiving yards.
- 7:24Not just receivers, but receivers, tight ends, running
- 7:26backs, right? So people catching the ball.
- 7:28Only three of them were over 800 yards, and one of them was a
- 7:32tight end and Tyler Warren. And then one of them was Mecca
- 7:35Ibuka, which I'm sure you remember after week.
- 7:38Then he only had one game over 50 receiving yards and his
- 7:43targets didn't drop off until week 14.
- 7:46So he was still getting 7 to 9 targets a game week 10 through
- 7:50week 14, and it just dropped off.
- 7:52He just wasn't able to maintain the production he had early in
- 7:56the year because people got back and they were healthy.
- 7:59And so Baker sort of throwing to everybody.
- 8:02And so that's the problem with some of these guys is that
- 8:04they're going on teams where if you get 6 targets a week
- 8:07throughout the whole season, that's pretty good consistently
- 8:106 targets a week because you're not throwing the ball.
- 8:13If you've got if you've got 4 wide receivers, a tight end and
- 8:17a running back, that's six guys. If you're if everyone's getting
- 8:206 targets a week, that's passing the ball quite a bit.
- 8:24And and six for a #1 receiver is not that many.
- 8:27And so before a, for a rookie coming in, it is quite a bit.
- 8:31And so looking at the receivers this year, pardon me as I sort
- 8:35through my spreadsheet here. And by my spreadsheet, I do just
- 8:40mean Pro Football Reference. I actually do think we get a
- 8:44receiver. I think we get one single
- 8:46receiver again this year. Sorry, last year we had one
- 8:49receiver who went over 1000 yards.
- 8:51Fred to mention that it was, as I'm sure you can guess,
- 8:53Tedderola McMillan. And I think we get the same
- 8:56scenario with Jordan Tyson. I don't think it's going to be
- 9:00Cardinal Tate. I don't think it's me Malachi
- 9:02limit. I don't think it's Casey
- 9:03Concepcion. I think we're going to get
- 9:06Jordan Tyson for New Orleans because we saw the increase of
- 9:11productivity of Tyler Shuck. As much as it pains me to say,
- 9:14at the very end of last year, they kind of said, you know
- 9:16what, Rattlers out, you're in, let's see what you can do.
- 9:20And he performed pretty well. I think we're going to continue
- 9:23to see productivity go up for Tyler Shucks.
- 9:27That is. And I think Jordan Tyson is
- 9:29going to reach the anything I don't remember.
- 9:31I can remember quickly here who all that's their that is their
- 9:36draft and players. That's no I don't know who all
- 9:39the receivers are in New Orleans anymore, the Saints.
- 9:41But they can't let. Me.
- 9:43Tell you, let me tell you. Is the lobby is still there?
- 9:46Yes, but if you look up the depth chart for the Saints, I
- 9:50guarantee you after Chris Olave, tell me a name that you've heard
- 9:54of after Chris Olave and Jordan Tyson.
- 9:56There's maybe one. There's maybe one I thought.
- 9:59You were going to list them. I guarantee you that especially
- 10:03the average fan never heard of any of these guys.
- 10:06Guarantee you the career high for all of the guys after Olave
- 10:11is 475 yards and after that there is a significant drop off
- 10:15to the next guy. The thing about the Saints is
- 10:17that they got ET ETN. Is that am I saying that right?
- 10:21Is this the ETN? I don't know anymore.
- 10:23I don't know anymore. This is the HN.
- 10:25That's right, apparently. It's apparently it's HN, but
- 10:28this is the I think that's fake. I don't know.
- 10:32That can't be real. Whatever, it doesn't really
- 10:34matter. He has said that he it's HN, who
- 10:38am I? There's no way that Devon HN and
- 10:41Travis HN's name are the same. That's just not possible.
- 10:45Newly acquired running back from Jacksonville, Travis Junior and
- 10:55Alvin Kamara. Now Kamara is not turning back.
- 10:58He used to be. And I think they're going to use
- 11:00him more in the as a receiving back anyway, as he's been pretty
- 11:03much his whole career. So I think they will take away
- 11:05from the WABE and from from Jordan Tyson, but there's a lot
- 11:11of love to be given in the passing game.
- 11:13And so I think I think if we do get one, I assume we get Jordan
- 11:16Tyson as the one. I think sharing the load is
- 11:20going to be the main problem for everybody else.
- 11:22Yeah, this one's an easy in for me between Carnal, Tate, Jordan,
- 11:26Tyson, Makai, Lemon, Which is Makai, not Malachi, by the way.
- 11:29You keep saying Malachi, but any Malachi.
- 11:32Yeah, you said Malachi last week.
- 11:33You said it this week too. My bad.
- 11:37You've also got because. Of Malachi because of Malachi
- 11:39Lawrence that I keep saying Malachi Lemon.
- 11:43I know his name is Makai Lemon, but but you said Malachi
- 11:47Lawrence earlier and so now it's just in my brain.
- 11:49So it's your fault, not mine. That's just how this works.
- 11:55OK, fine, whatever. But but anyway, between Carnell,
- 11:58Tate, Jordan Tyson, Mackay, Lemon, Omar Cooper, Junior Casey
- 12:01Concepcion, Denzel Boston, I feel like there has to be at
- 12:04least one guy who's going to get 1000 yards this year.
- 12:07And I agree, it's going to be Jordan Tyson.
- 12:09Again, if you look at the depth chart in the wide receiver room
- 12:12for the Saints, pretty much everybody has never heard of any
- 12:16of these guys that are on their depth chart aside from Crystal
- 12:19Labbe. So I feel like Jordan Tyson is
- 12:21going to have a lot of opportunities.
- 12:23He's going to have a lot of targets, he's going to have a
- 12:25lot of catches, which most likely means he's going to have
- 12:28a lot of yards. So if Jordan Tyson is healthy, I
- 12:31think he easily gets over 1000 yards.
- 12:33Now Will, I'm curious if I was to raise the number from 1000 to
- 12:371200, would you still be in? I don't think so.
- 12:43I don't think so. We have this fictitious
- 12:46benchmark and I think we're going to talk about this later.
- 12:48Have 1000 yards for a skill player is like the end all be
- 12:52all, great job, good season kind of thing.
- 12:54But 1200 just seems so much more unreasonable than 1000 for for
- 13:00some made-up reason, right? Yeah, I mean, I could see it
- 13:05happening, but I feel like I'm going to learn more towards the
- 13:081000 yard mark than the 1200 yard mark.
- 13:11But I can definitely see Jordan Tyson getting over 1000. 1200
- 13:14yards over your 17 game stretch is 70 receiving yards a game.
- 13:20That is not breaking it down that like that.
- 13:23If your fantasy football wide receiver gets 4 targets or 4
- 13:28receptions for 70 yards, you're mad at them.
- 13:31You're frustrated, guy, why didn't you do more?
- 13:34Why on earth 70 yards full receptions like like that is
- 13:39like you're mad, like I need a new wide receiver.
- 13:41But in reality, if you're reading 70 yards a game
- 13:44throughout the entire season consistently, you're going to
- 13:47get 1200 receiving yards on the season, and that's really good.
- 13:52All right. You got anything else out there?
- 13:55No, I no, I think, well, maybe I do actually.
- 13:59You say it like that. I would like to put a a sneaky
- 14:03honorable mention in here. And I know I've made fun of this
- 14:05guy a lot, but because of just lack of availability for other
- 14:09players, Dijon Stribling for San Francisco, that that team can't
- 14:14stay healthy, whether it's wide receiver, I mean, George Kettle
- 14:18somehow Christian McCaffrey, she helped me last year.
- 14:21So somehow. So this year probably not so
- 14:24much. I you can still technically on
- 14:25the team. They just don't have people.
- 14:30I I guess it's the right word to put there.
- 14:32And so he might be a sneaky one in there for 1000 third season.
- 14:35Now they have them now, but they won't have them out for Week 3.
- 14:38But like right now, they have them.
- 14:41But when when offseason training camp starts, they're right back
- 14:44out again. And, and so, so as much as I
- 14:48don't like that pick, and I ripped on that pick pretty good,
- 14:51it might end up being the right move because everyone else is
- 14:54hurt. So this is what we have.
- 14:56Yeah, I can see that, although I do hope the 49ers fail miserably
- 15:00this season because of the Mike Evans thing.
- 15:03So. Anyways, let's move on to the
- 15:06next one. Sure.
- 15:07All right, so the next one is we will see a rookie running back
- 15:10have 1000 rushing yards this season.
- 15:12Are you in or out? I am out.
- 15:17Oh, wait, so sorry, so sorry. I'm actually in.
- 15:21My bad. I'm in.
- 15:23So the host we got last year was Ashton Gente at 975 rushing
- 15:27yards. And that Raiders team was really
- 15:29bad. But that Raiders team also had
- 15:33at least the beginning of the season, other options.
- 15:36They had Brock Bowers the whole season.
- 15:38They had Jacoby Myers until they didn't.
- 15:40And and so they had other options.
- 15:42They also had Geno Smith who could kind of throw the ball.
- 15:46This is not going to be an unpopular pick here, but
- 15:49Jeremiah Love is the only offensive option behind Trey
- 15:55McBride in Arizona. They just don't.
- 15:59I mean, I'm sure people, Michael Wilson, sure, and you have
- 16:05Marvin Harrison Junior. The problem is is you don't have
- 16:08a quarterback like Jacoby were such great.
- 16:12Jacoby percent is good enough. I'm glad it's too strong of a
- 16:16work. He's good enough to put up 40
- 16:21points a game, but the defense is bad enough to let up 45.
- 16:25And that was what we saw consistently with the Cardinals
- 16:27last year is that they can't stop anybody.
- 16:30And so if they get down to it and they're trying to run the
- 16:32clock out, they're going to have to run the football, which is
- 16:36not something they did incredibly successful last year.
- 16:38Their offensive line was not good.
- 16:40And so I do think we get one. I think it's going to be
- 16:42Jeremiah Love because they're just going to have to feed him
- 16:44the ball the entire time to a make sure that he gets his use
- 16:48because he drafted in 3rd overall.
- 16:51We had to use him. We high drafted running back.
- 16:55We're probably only going to get four years out of this guy.
- 16:58Use them as much as you can, but I I don't think we see that
- 17:02Darian prices. You have to split a bunch of
- 17:04time. Kaylee on blacks going to have
- 17:05to sit behind McCaffrey for the first 3.
- 17:09He's not going to do anything unless McCaffrey gets hurt.
- 17:12He's going to sit behind McCaffrey for the first three
- 17:14games and he'll be in. The Raiders drafted the running
- 17:18back. Chiefs drafted the running back.
- 17:20The Titans drafted in the running back.
- 17:22The Ravens drafted the running back.
- 17:24Oh, wait, the Raiders did not. I'm sorry, the Raiders did.
- 17:28I'm just talking to my butt here.
- 17:29Doesn't really matter. I didn't get one.
- 17:32I think it is Jeremiah Love. We get one because they're just
- 17:35feel forced to use them. I'm going to go in on this one
- 17:38as well, but I'm going to go in with some hesitancy.
- 17:41I can't say with certainty that we're going to see a 1000 yard
- 17:44rookie rusher this year. And the reason why I say that is
- 17:46because I feel like Jeremiah Love should get 1000 yards
- 17:49rushing because of the player that he is.
- 17:51But at the same time, I bet you if we had asked this question
- 17:54before last season about Ashtagenti, everybody would have
- 17:56said yes, he's going for 1000 rushing yards, no question about
- 17:59it. And that didn't happen.
- 18:01And I bet you had me ask this question about Dejan Robinson
- 18:04and Jameer Gibbs in 2023, everyone would have said yes,
- 18:07you're going for 1000 rushing yards, no question about it.
- 18:09And neither of them got 1000 rushing yards in the rookie
- 18:12year. So I feel like Jeremiah Love
- 18:14should get it, but he's also part of a running back room that
- 18:16has Tyler Algier, James Conner and like 13 other running backs
- 18:20it feels like. So I just don't know how the
- 18:22carries are going to get split up between these guys.
- 18:24Also, you mentioned the Cardinals offensive line isn't
- 18:27that good. They were second to last in
- 18:29rushing yards per game last season.
- 18:31Now, some of that we can attribute to the ridiculous
- 18:33amount of injuries they had to the running backs last year.
- 18:36But the offensive line also deserves some blame there too.
- 18:39So I'm going to go in, but I wouldn't be surprised if we
- 18:42don't see a rookie rusher of 1000 yards this season.
- 18:45So we just talked about 1000 yard receivers and 1000 yard
- 18:49rushers. And so will you kind of mention
- 18:51that we're going to talk about this?
- 18:53So I have a question that I wanted to discuss because I
- 18:55thought it was interesting. So my question is, why is 1000
- 18:59yards the standard we have for skill position players?
- 19:02I don't know because 1000 yards a season is it's like 60.
- 19:07It's not even 60, it's 58.8 yards per game.
- 19:11Yeah, so it, it's not even 60 yards a game.
- 19:14I wonder if that's like an old carryover from like when you're
- 19:17back when it was like a 14 game season and so it's just always
- 19:21stuck. But maybe because it's the first
- 19:234 digit number and so it looks prettier, but I I don't really
- 19:27know. Do you have an actual answer?
- 19:29No, I don't have an answer. I'm just, I'm just curious.
- 19:32I don't think there is an actual answer.
- 19:34I just think that that's what everybody thinks because that's,
- 19:37I mean, that's what it's been ever since I started watching
- 19:39football. It's like if you get 1000 yards,
- 19:41you're a good rusher, you're a good receiver, and if you don't
- 19:44get 1000 yards, you're just average.
- 19:46I don't know. That's just how it's always
- 19:47been. So that's why I kind of brought
- 19:49it up because I don't know. Yeah, I don't.
- 19:52I'm sorry. I was just saying a quick Google
- 19:54search here, I don't have an answer and it doesn't seem like
- 19:57anybody really has an answer because back when it was a 14
- 20:00game season, that would have been 71 yards a game.
- 20:02But it's been a 16 game season. Since like 1978 and it's just
- 20:07kind of to. 17 so it's just easier and easier to get it.
- 20:10Maybe it's just because the the game is better, like the skills,
- 20:13the skill level is up higher and so it's still hard to get.
- 20:16Now I'm not saying it's easy to get.
- 20:18I couldn't get 1000 yards in anything in the NFL.
- 20:21There's just no way I could probably get 1000 yards sacked.
- 20:25I could probably choose that 1000 negative yards as a running
- 20:29back. You could get a receiver to get
- 20:313000 receiving yards on you. Yes, for sure, for sure, for
- 20:35sure. I can give up 1000 yards for
- 20:37saving in a game, a single game. I bet I do that.
- 20:42I just, I don't have, I mean I don't have any real answer.
- 20:46I mean, if you look at the receiving and Russian leaders
- 20:49from last year, Jackson Smith and Juba got almost 1800
- 20:53receiving yards 1793 and the Russian leader James Cook got
- 20:571621. So we're well past 1000 yard
- 21:01mark. I don't think we would see 1000
- 21:04yard like like 1008 or whatever. If you're getting 1000, just
- 21:08over 1000 yards, that's a good benchmark, but you're not
- 21:11winning awards with that. You might make the Pro Bowl, but
- 21:14but who makes The Who doesn't make the Pro Bowl?
- 21:16People are turning that down now.
- 21:18I'm just not doing that. That is.
- 21:20Something that we could do in the NFL is make the Pro Bowl.
- 21:23I Chances are honestly, I could make the Peyton Hills Madden
- 21:27driver and then get my whole city to rally around me.
- 21:30I just, I don't know, I, it's a, it's a spectacular thing, but
- 21:34it's more spectacular. I feel like at least I can.
- 21:39I'm a very involved fantasy football player.
- 21:42I, you know, this, I, I play multiple leagues every year.
- 21:46If I'm looking at 1000 yard receiver, that's going to be
- 21:49like my #3 receiver #4 receiver on my team.
- 21:52They're not in my starting lineup.
- 21:54And so I I think it's just a carryover from back when it
- 21:57actually, and now again, it doesn't mean nothing, but back
- 22:02when it actually meant more that it's like, OK, well, yeah, you,
- 22:05you did 71 yards a game. That's great.
- 22:08Now I would say you didn't even get 60 yards going back where I
- 22:10said earlier, if my receiver gets 58 yards on five receptions
- 22:17or 58 yards on 10 rushes, I'm looking at you.
- 22:20Marry him over. I'm so mad.
- 22:23I'm so mad. Like what are you doing?
- 22:26Why are we not getting more yards?
- 22:28You are the starting running back for NFL franchise.
- 22:31There are 32 of you do better. But again, I look at me, I'm not
- 22:37out there doing it. I'm just sitting behind my
- 22:39keyboard saying why is this guy got better?
- 22:42So I don't know. Yeah, I just find it funny that
- 22:47when we look at a player who has 1000 yards, everyone says, oh,
- 22:50he had 1000 yards, so he's a good player.
- 22:52But when you look at a guy who had 900 yards, people say he's
- 22:55an average player. And I'll give you the perfect
- 22:57example, Ted McMillan versus a Mecca Ibuca.
- 23:00Ibuca had 938 receiving yards last season and people are
- 23:04saying, well, he's good, but really he's just average.
- 23:07He's not a number one guy. But then you take Ted Mcmillan's
- 23:101014 yards and they say Ted McMillan is going to be one of
- 23:13the best wide receivers in the league when really there's a
- 23:15difference of 76 yards that they had over the course of the
- 23:18entire season, which is 4.47 yards per game.
- 23:21I think they're both going to be great receivers.
- 23:23I just think it's funny how people look at one player with
- 23:261000 yards and they put him in a whole new tear over a guy who
- 23:29had 76 less yards. When you break it down on a per
- 23:32game basis, again, it's 58.8 yards per game for 1000 yards
- 23:36over the 17 game season. I bet you that you could put
- 23:401000 yards and 58.8 yards per game next to each other and ask
- 23:45someone which number is better and almost every single time
- 23:48they'd say 1000 yards even though it's the exact same
- 23:50number. I guarantee you they would say
- 23:521000 yards every single time. So I just think it's, I just
- 23:55think we get a little too carried away with 1000 yard mark
- 23:59sometimes. So last year in the NFL, there
- 24:02was 17 running backs who broke 1000 yards out of who knows how
- 24:08many running back strikes you were.
- 24:09There were seventeen of them. And then Ashton Gente is at #18
- 24:12at at 975. There were 20 pass catchers, I
- 24:17guess ball catchers, whatever you want to call it, 20 because
- 24:21one of them is a tight end. Ball touchers is what we say
- 24:23around here. Ball touchers.
- 24:24There it is 12 See running backs touch balls too.
- 24:27So ball catchers, OK, fine. I just wanted to say ball
- 24:31touchers. Well, you little culture that
- 24:34might can whisper it next time. We had 20 oh, touchers and Alec
- 24:41Pierce being the last one I see. Two of them, A.J.
- 24:43Brown and Alec Pierce were both tied at 1003.
- 24:49So I have all the receivers. Only 20 of them got 1000 yards.
- 24:52And so that's kind of why I think it's probably held in such
- 24:55a spectacle still is because as much as we're like, yeah, it's
- 24:58OK, Only 20 people did it last year, only 20.
- 25:03And one of them was a tight end. And with running backs, only 16
- 25:06of them did it. 17 of them did it.
- 25:08Yeah, 17 of them did it. And so 32 teams, only 17.
- 25:11And I don't think there are any multiple 1000 yard rushers from
- 25:14last year. Only one come to mind is
- 25:18Seattle. They didn't do it no trouble
- 25:20anyway at 730. So yeah, yeah, I just, I get why
- 25:24it's still a big deal, but it almost feels as if it's still
- 25:29overblown. It's not nothing, that's for
- 25:31sure, but it just feels like it's kind of gone by the way,
- 25:33like you said, 58.8 yards a game doesn't feel like a lot.
- 25:38Right, exactly. Anyways, let's move on to the
- 25:40next one here. So this next one is we will see
- 25:43a rookie skill position player get 10 plus touchdowns this
- 25:46season. Are you in or out?
- 25:48Oh, are we talking total touchdowns or are we talking
- 25:52yes, total touchdowns? Total touchdowns.
- 25:55I'm in actually. Ashton Gentsey got 10 total
- 26:00touchdowns last year, 5 receiving, 5 rushing.
- 26:02If you look at just receiving touchdowns, Ted got closest with
- 26:057. Just rushing touchdowns, Trayvon
- 26:08Henderson and Jackson Dart actually got closest with 9.
- 26:12I don't know if you count quarterback in your skill
- 26:14position or not. No, I'm not.
- 26:16I'm that's why I said skill position because I'm not
- 26:18counting the quarterback. I think I am.
- 26:21Well, Trayvon Henderson actually got 10.
- 26:23So we had two running backs last year.
- 26:25They got 10 total touchdowns. Trayvon Henderson, I'm just a
- 26:28liar. There's more than that because
- 26:30RJ Harvey got 12. So we had three of them last
- 26:33year with Ashton Genti, RJ Harvey and.
- 26:39Trayvon Henderson. Trayvon Henderson, thank you.
- 26:41I know I can read words. I'm in again.
- 26:44I think I'm in with Jeremy. I Love Actually.
- 26:48I also could be easily convinced that Kaylee on black for the for
- 26:52Seattle. I feel like that could be a
- 26:54sneaky steal a couple touchdowns off of Charbonet.
- 26:57Wait, you mean to dairy and price?
- 27:00I do mean Jerry and Price. Thank you for that.
- 27:02Appreciate it. I was looking at the wrong name
- 27:05I don't think. It's in the same division and
- 27:07it's all the same. Yeah, I don't think we get any
- 27:09individual, like I don't think one guy has 10 receiving
- 27:13touchdowns or 10 rushing touchdowns.
- 27:15I think we get a running back who sneaks in there and gets 10
- 27:18total. Possibly even like Kenyan Sadiq,
- 27:22they they have some packages where he runs the football, like
- 27:25a Gold Line package where he runs the football.
- 27:27I'm going to go in on this one too because the last time we
- 27:29didn't see a rookie skill position player get 10 plus
- 27:31touchdowns was in 2022 where the leader had 9 touchdowns.
- 27:35Well, for the last three years we've seen at least one rookie
- 27:37hit that number. So I've looked through the skill
- 27:40position players drafted this year and I feel like there's a
- 27:42decent amount of guys who will at least have the opportunities
- 27:46to reach this number. So the guys I was considering
- 27:48was Jeremiah Love, Carnell Tate, Jordan Tyson, and Omar Cooper
- 27:51Junior. And if I had to pick one of
- 27:54those rookie skill position players to get 10 plus
- 27:56touchdowns this season, I'm going to go with Jordan Tyson.
- 27:59And the reason why is because I feel like he has the most clear
- 28:02opportunity to do so. Like we've already talked about
- 28:05again, the Saints depth chart at wide receiver is not good aside
- 28:09from Crystal Lavey with all these guys that they don't have
- 28:11on their team, there's going to be a lot of opportunities for a
- 28:14Lavey and a lot of opportunities for Jordan Tyson.
- 28:17And I just feel like if Jordan Tyson is healthy that he will
- 28:19have the most opportunity to get 10 plus touchdown.
- 28:23So the other guy that I think has a really good chance to do
- 28:26it is Jeremiah Love. I didn't pick him though because
- 28:29I just have no idea again, where the Cardinals running back
- 28:32situation is. Like I I, they've got Love as a
- 28:34starter, but behind him again there's Algier, James Conner,
- 28:37Trey Benson. It's a really deep running back
- 28:39room and I just don't know how these guys are going to get
- 28:42used. So obviously Jeremiah Love is a
- 28:45home run threat, but how many touchdowns is Algier going to
- 28:48take away from him when they get down to the goal line?
- 28:50How is James Conner going to be used if he's still on the team
- 28:53when the season starts? I just don't know how the
- 28:55Cardinals are going to split the carries between these guys.
- 28:57Now with guys like Carnal Tate and Elmer Cooper Junior, I think
- 29:00they do have a very good chance to do it as well because both of
- 29:03them are very good Redstone threats in their own way.
- 29:05Like Carnal Tate is more of a guy you just throw it up to,
- 29:08while Cooper is the guy that you just get it to on a quick screen
- 29:11and let him break tackles on his way to the end zone.
- 29:13The question I have with their teams though is can their
- 29:15offense consistently get into the red zone?
- 29:18So again, I just feel like Jordan Tyson is going to have
- 29:21the most opportunity to do it. OK, so the next one is we will
- 29:24see a rookie tight end with 60 plus catches this season.
- 29:27Are you in or out? I think I'm out on this one.
- 29:31Kenyan State will probably be closest, but who is
- 29:34quarterbacking for The Jets? Is it actually Gino?
- 29:36We don't really. We don't really know yet.
- 29:40We had two of them last year with Tyler Warren and actually
- 29:44Harold Fanning junior. Shout out to us for that one.
- 29:47That feels good. That feels like a nice win.
- 29:49And then close to Loveland was right there at 58.
- 29:53Gadsden snuck in there for the Chargers with 49.
- 29:56So we had we had three tight ends right in the two that got
- 30:00it and two more that were right in the vicinity of cats and
- 30:03probably started a few more games then he he might actually
- 30:06got there. But he he was a late bloomer.
- 30:08They're looking at our starting tight ends here.
- 30:11I just don't. I mean, you've got Sadiq and
- 30:15you've got Eli Stowers and he's going to be battling with
- 30:18whatever is going on in Philadelphia.
- 30:20So I think the closest we get is King Sadiq, but he's on The
- 30:24Jets. We don't know who's playing
- 30:25quarterback there. And then you back to that.
- 30:26You've got Eli Stowers and he's going to go through everything
- 30:29that Philadelphia's got going on right now.
- 30:31And who knows? They also brought in Malachi
- 30:33Lemon. Nope.
- 30:34See, I did it there again. So that's your fault.
- 30:36Makai Lemon, they brought in Makai Lemon as well in the first
- 30:41round. So you're going to throw more to
- 30:42your first round running back, excuse me, first round receiver,
- 30:46then your second round tight end.
- 30:47And I just don't think any of these other tight ends are going
- 30:50to get a fair shake to get a full 60.
- 30:52The Rams for some reason drafted another tight end, so now
- 30:56they've got like 8 on the roster.
- 30:58And so there's just too much time to share there.
- 31:00They're like 30. And so I, I just, I think the
- 31:04closest we're going to get is Canyon Sadiq, but because he's
- 31:08on The Jets, I just don't think it's going to happen.
- 31:11Yeah, I agree with you. I'm going to go out on this one.
- 31:13Over the last three seasons, we've seen at least one tight
- 31:16end get 60 plus catches in the rookie year.
- 31:18And just looking at the Titans from this year's class, there's
- 31:20only two like you mentioned that I think could get it and it's
- 31:24Canyon Sadiq and Eli Stowers. But I'm going to go out and I
- 31:28think Kenya Sadiq would be most likely like you agree with as
- 31:31well. But looking at the depth chart
- 31:33for The Jets, this might be the most weapons that they've had
- 31:36offensively for a long time. They still have a quarterback,
- 31:39but they're supporting cast actually looks pretty good.
- 31:41So with Sadiq, I just don't know where he's going to fall in the
- 31:44pecking order of targets. Garrett Wilson is obviously the
- 31:47number one guy and he's got Omar Cooper junior who does his best
- 31:51work in the short area where he can just get the ball quickly
- 31:53and make plays. And then you've got Breeze Hall,
- 31:55who gets a lot of catches out of the backfield.
- 31:57They also have Mason Taylor, who, believe it or not, led The
- 32:00Jets in receptions last season with 44.
- 32:02So Sadiq is going to compliment these guys, but I don't think
- 32:06he's going to get 60 plus catches in his rookie year
- 32:08because I just don't know where he's going to fall in the order
- 32:11of targets. If we were to say 50 plus
- 32:14catches I'd probably go in, but I don't think he gets.
- 32:17I think I'm still out. I am still out at 50.
- 32:19I just don't trust The Jets. If he, if Sadiq had a different
- 32:23team, If you put Sadiq on, if you put him on Miami, OK.
- 32:28Who right now is projected to be the number one pick in next
- 32:31year's draft? That's how little people are
- 32:33giving credit to Miami. I think Sadiq could get there.
- 32:36I just had no faith in The Jets because they've proven to be
- 32:40garbage consistently. I do believe my entire life,
- 32:43except for a few years when Mark Sanchez was there.
- 32:45But we're not allowed to talk about that guy anymore, so.
- 32:50Just say Butt Fumble and everybody knows who you're
- 32:52talking. About that's the one, I mean,
- 32:53yeah. Yeah, I I totally understand
- 32:56that. If we were going 50 plus
- 32:58catches, I would still go in with Sadiq.
- 33:01If it was Eli Stowers, I would still go out if it was 50 plus
- 33:04catches just because as of right now the Eagles have A.J.
- 33:07Brown, Devante Smith, Dallas Goddard and they all had 60 plus
- 33:10catches last season. But even if you take A.J.
- 33:12Brown out, they put Makai Lemon in and they added some really
- 33:15good depth to their receiver room with Hollywood Brown and
- 33:17Dontavian Wigs. So I think Stowers is going to
- 33:19have a role for the Eagles, but I don't see it being a big
- 33:22enough role for him to get 50 or 60 catches this year.
- 33:25Dallas Goddard is on a one year deal and I think the Eagles
- 33:28drafted Stowers to be the starting tight end after this
- 33:30year when Goddard is probably not there anymore.
- 33:33So I think he could get 50 catches over 60 catches in the
- 33:36future, but not this year. I mean, in the entirety of the
- 33:40NFL, we only had 46 players get 60 plus catches.
- 33:45That's Titans wide receiver and rang backs.
- 33:47So across everybody, only 46 of them dead.
- 33:50So that's not an easy benchmark to cross, but it's not undoable,
- 33:55obviously. All right, let's move on to the
- 33:57next one. So this one is we will see a
- 34:00rookie quarterback start 12 plus games this season.
- 34:02Are you in or out? I hope not.
- 34:07That's kind of where I sit with that man.
- 34:09I, I just so don't want that to happen.
- 34:15I don't even know how to say that.
- 34:17I mean, I, I would assume Fernando Mendoza has the highest
- 34:20opportunity, followed by Carson Beck and Drew Aller.
- 34:24I I guess. Carson Beck is who I had at #2.
- 34:27I think the NFL is going to be a better product if none of these
- 34:30three guys start any games next year.
- 34:34Absolutely. So for the love of ball, for the
- 34:37sake of ball, I'm going to be out on this one.
- 34:40OK, I'm actually going to go in on this one because I feel like
- 34:44Fernando Mendoza is going to start at least 12 games a
- 34:46season. The Raiders say they're going to
- 34:48sit him. But when the Raiders are one and
- 34:50four, maybe Owen 5 and Kirk Cousins isn't playing well, the
- 34:53Raiders will make the switch. Just look at what the Giants did
- 34:56with Jackson Dart last year. Their plan was to sit him and
- 34:59they did to start the year. But Russell Wilson played like
- 35:01trash and the Giants started Owen 3.
- 35:03And so the Giants said, get this guy out of here, let's put our
- 35:06rookie quarterback in and see what he's got.
- 35:08So Carson Beck would be my number two guy.
- 35:11Jacoby Brissett was actually pretty good last year and so
- 35:14that's why I didn't put him first.
- 35:15But I can see the Cardinals putting him in after they've had
- 35:17a bad start and just trying to take the season so they can get
- 35:20a better draft pick in a loaded 2027 draft class.
- 35:23Although after the post I put out about the Cardinals losing
- 35:26the draft, I'm really confused on if Cardinals fans think
- 35:29they're going to be good or bad this year.
- 35:31Cardinals fans are telling me they're tanking the season for a
- 35:33quarterback in 2027, but then they're also saying that their
- 35:36team is actually really good and the only reason they only won
- 35:39three games last year is because of injuries.
- 35:41They're out here saying picking Carson Beck in the third round
- 35:44was a great pick and he's going to be the best quarterback from
- 35:46this draft class. But they're also saying they're
- 35:48going to play him so that they can take the season.
- 35:51So I truly have no idea what Cardinals fans think of their
- 35:53team. Are they tanking or are they not
- 35:55tanking? I have no idea because they're
- 35:57giving me mixed signals here. So I just, I don't know what
- 36:01Cardinals fans think. I mean, tanking or not, the
- 36:04Cardinals are last in the division.
- 36:06Yes, the Cardinals could try their hardest to win every game,
- 36:09which I think the players do. I don't think players tank.
- 36:14I think organizations tank. I don't think head coaches tank
- 36:18general managers, maybe I'm if he's there, but ownership, I
- 36:23think those guys lean into like the well, we could get this guy
- 36:27if we do bad, but that doesn't benefit any of these people
- 36:30whose jobs are on the stake now. I don't think the is it Kubiak,
- 36:34right? No.
- 36:36Yeah, Kubiak's head goes down there and.
- 36:38For the Raiders. No, no, no.
- 36:41It's the floor. The floor is in Arizona.
- 36:43Yep, it's the floor in Arizona. Too many, too many, you guys, I
- 36:48don't think the floor's job is at risk no matter how the season
- 36:51goes for Arizona, I think O and 17, they keep the floor at least
- 36:55one more year truly, because I, I, I, I believe that because
- 37:02look at the product that he is being given by his bosses.
- 37:06The general manager is putting together this kind of team.
- 37:09They whether the floor like it or not, they drafted Jeremiah
- 37:14Love at #3 What am I supposed to do with that when the guy that
- 37:19wants that I want to play quarterback in Jacoby Brissette,
- 37:22I assume he wants me to play quarterback, want starter money,
- 37:25but you guys are unwilling to pay it.
- 37:27What am I supposed to do with my next guy up is Carson Beck, who
- 37:32is not NFL style currently nothing.
- 37:38He can't speak. I'm look, I'm trying to be soft
- 37:41here, right? I'm I'm I'm shredding them apart
- 37:43but I'm trying to be soft about. It just.
- 37:47I just think that the organization might be going One
- 37:51Direction with the players. Well, so even if even if they
- 37:54the players are not trying to tank, they're still forcing
- 37:57division. Maybe they get more than three
- 37:58wins this year. I haven't looked in depth to
- 38:01Cardinals schedule yet, but I don't think anybody's holding
- 38:03their breath when, Oh no, the Cardinals are on our schedule.
- 38:06Oh no, we have to go to Arizona and nice weather in December.
- 38:11Dang it. I just, they're not scaring
- 38:18anybody, is my point. Right all.
- 38:20Right, let's move on to the next one here.
- 38:22So this one is we will see a rookie head coach with 11 plus
- 38:25wins this season. Are you in or out?
- 38:28I'm in, actually. Now we're not counting.
- 38:32We're not counting Falcons. This is just this is just first
- 38:39time rookie head. Coach, to be fair, I don't think
- 38:41Stefanski gets eleven wins this year.
- 38:43I think Stefanski is not a fraud, but he fumble the Browns
- 38:48so bad they didn't want him to head coach there anymore.
- 38:50So let's leave that for what it is.
- 38:52I think should be Joe Brady because we're getting a very
- 38:55much Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, moments where Barry
- 38:58Switzer stepped in and ended up winning the Super Bowl, not the
- 39:01next year, but the year after because of Jimmy, the team Jimmy
- 39:04Johnson built, this is the team Sean McDermott and Brandon being
- 39:09built in in Buffalo. And now Joe Brady who's been
- 39:13part of the staff, now he's to be the dad in the chair instead
- 39:17of instead of the older brother. Now he's the dad in the chair
- 39:22and gets to run the team the way he's seen it run.
- 39:25All he has to do is whatever Sean McDermott did 5% better.
- 39:31That's it. That's all you have to do.
- 39:33McDermott got that team to the playoffs almost every single
- 39:36year, if not every single year he was there.
- 39:38I don't know specifically. And so Joe Brady just has to let
- 39:42his team function the way it's been functioning, but 5% better
- 39:46and mostly on defense, and then you're going to get eleven wins
- 39:50almost guaranteed. Do you play Miami twice and you
- 39:53played The Jets twice? Can you get 4 easy wins right
- 39:57there? You're not halfway there, but
- 39:59you're close to halfway there. If Joe Brady doesn't get 11 wins
- 40:02this year, that is a bit of a bad like a like a failure of a
- 40:06season. Truly, he should win rookie or
- 40:09coach of the year because he's a rookie coach and like, Oh no, he
- 40:12did this first year. That should be a whole thing.
- 40:15Yep, I agree with you. I'm going in on this one and the
- 40:18two most likely rookie head coaches to get 11 plus wins are
- 40:21obviously Joe Brady and Jesse Menter because they have Josh
- 40:24Allen and Lamar Jackson as their quarterbacks.
- 40:27But if I'm picking one, I'm going with Joe Brady because the
- 40:30last time the Bills won less than 11 games was in Josh
- 40:33Allen's second season in 2019. So part of that is because Josh
- 40:37Allen doesn't miss many games. Lamar Jackson, on the other
- 40:40hand, has missed some sort of significant time in three out of
- 40:43the last five seasons. So there's potential there that
- 40:46Lamar Jackson could get injured again and this time, which would
- 40:50reduce the amount of wins that they have.
- 40:51And obviously there's potential that that happens to Josh Allen
- 40:54too. But Josh Allen has proven that
- 40:55he has been consistently playing, while Lamar Jackson has
- 40:58not proven that. So I also think that the Bills
- 41:01helped Josh on out a little bit on offense.
- 41:03I like them getting DJ Moore. I do think they gave up a little
- 41:06bit too much to get him, but I do like that move to get him for
- 41:09Josh Allen because he needed receiver help.
- 41:11So I think that it's going to be Joe Brady.
- 41:13But Will if I were to say we will see a rookie head coach on
- 41:17a team that had five or less wins last season have 10 plus
- 41:20wins this year, would you be in or out?
- 41:21That leaves the Raiders, Cardinals and Browns.
- 41:25No, I'm out. Yeah, I'm easily out on that
- 41:27too. I was just curious what you
- 41:28would say. Yeah, Yeah, the Raiders made
- 41:30nice moves, but they have no real receiving threat outside of
- 41:33Brock Bowers. The Browns are going to have 12
- 41:35starting quarterbacks again this season, and the Cardinals are
- 41:38just bad. So.
- 41:39Who starts in Cleveland? I know this isn't part of our
- 41:41thing today. We can we can go in depth more
- 41:43later like who starts I really. Hope it's not Deshaun Watson.
- 41:48It should be though, right? I mean, I feel like he's
- 41:50probably the best quarterback like talent wise, but I just, I
- 41:55don't feel like, I don't feel like he would be the best for
- 41:59the morale of the team. I think if you win football
- 42:03games, morale goes up. They're not going to win
- 42:07football games with Deshawn. I think he gives them the best
- 42:11opportunity. I don't like the guy.
- 42:12I think he's a scumbag. He's never been charged no
- 42:16matter what what allegations came out about him, never was
- 42:19charged. So still think he's a scumbag.
- 42:21We like to put that out there, but he's going to be your
- 42:25starting quarterback for Cleveland.
- 42:28I feel like the fans want to see your Sanders because they want
- 42:31to see what they have with him. Like they want to see if he can
- 42:34develop into a real starting quarterback.
- 42:37So I feel like the fans would want to see Sanders, but
- 42:41unfortunately there is. Yeah.
- 42:43But that's that's it's Cleveland.
- 42:46It is Cleveland. They're used to they.
- 42:47Should not be expecting wins. Not my team, whatever.
- 42:51All right, let's move on to the next one here.
- 42:54All right, so this next one is we will see a rookie with 100
- 42:57plus tackles this season. Are you in or out?
- 42:59So we're talking solo tackles or combined tackles.
- 43:02Combined tackles. I'm going to be out on this one.
- 43:05I just feel like as as the player base gets better across
- 43:09the league, it is less responsibility of the individual
- 43:12to hold up the whole team. And even like Carson Swessinger
- 43:15last year, he's not a rookie this year.
- 43:18And so they brought in other people.
- 43:21I'm sure the Browns did something in the half season.
- 43:23I truly could not care about this.
- 43:25But the defenses as a whole, I think has was a pretty major
- 43:30focal point for a lot of teams, as it should be every year.
- 43:32But there were some glaringly bad defenses.
- 43:34And so like the Rams was actually now this is not
- 43:37tackling, this is secondary. They went out and addressed
- 43:40their issues and I think a lot of teams actually did that.
- 43:43Teams say they want to do that. You know, a lot of teams
- 43:45actually do that this year. I don't think the burden of
- 43:49doing all the work is going to be on any individual rookie.
- 43:52I think we get better team play this year as a whole and so I'm
- 43:55out on this. I don't think we get a single
- 43:56rookie that has 100 plus combined tackles.
- 43:59I'm actually going to go in on us seeing a rookie with 100 plus
- 44:02tackles this season. We just saw Carson Schwessinger
- 44:05have well over 100 tackles last season.
- 44:07Part of that was because Carson Schwessinger is really good, but
- 44:10the other part is because the Browns offense was terrible and
- 44:13so the Browns defense was always on the field.
- 44:16So if I had to pick 1 rookie to get over 100 tackles this
- 44:18season, I'm going with Dolphins linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.
- 44:22The Dolphins had a bad offense last year, but there's a strong
- 44:25possibility that's that it's even worse this season.
- 44:28So I think the Dolphins defense is going to be on the field a
- 44:31lot this year because the Dolphins offense is going to be
- 44:33bad because the Dolphins defense will be on the field a lot.
- 44:36Jacob Rodriguez is going to be out there making play after play
- 44:39after play just like he did at Texas Tech where he had two
- 44:42straight seasons with over 120 tackles.
- 44:45So I think Jacob Rodriguez is going to be on the field a lot
- 44:48and because of that he's going to get over 100 tackles in his
- 44:51rookie year. All right, so this is is going
- 44:52to be our last in or out take here.
- 44:55So this one is we will see a rookie with five plus
- 44:57interceptions this season. Are you in or out?
- 45:00I'm going to be in. I feel like in is is cool.
- 45:03In is like the right thing to do.
- 45:05Let's just be hit with everyone. Let's be in.
- 45:07I don't know how many times in a row we had it last year.
- 45:10It just seems as if rookies, whether they are targeted more
- 45:15because they're rookies and end up doing good.
- 45:17But rookies and and like early, early career players are the
- 45:21ones setting the interception record numbers.
- 45:24Once you're a proven corner or safety, they just don't target
- 45:27you as much. And so you have to do it early
- 45:29in your career before you get known.
- 45:31I don't know who if I had to pick people know Mansor the
- 45:35lane's good. I feel like maybe Chris Johnson
- 45:38because because he went to San Diego State and I realized I I
- 45:42crapped on him a lot because he went to San Diego State.
- 45:45But like you were just saying, Miami is going to be in the
- 45:47field a lot defensively. The only thing going for him is
- 45:51that it's possible that they get to a point where teams are just
- 45:55running the football against him to run the crack out so there's
- 45:57less opportunity. Colton Hood I feel like has a
- 46:00stake in the game here if he ends up starting or playing a
- 46:03lot because they've got a good front and so if they're getting,
- 46:06if they're their front 7 or getting the quarterback quick,
- 46:09the ball's trying to come out quick and it might going to be
- 46:11accurate. I feel like the few guys that
- 46:13that have actual chance to get 5 plus interceptions in their
- 46:16first year, and fortunately Mansfield Lane is just not one
- 46:19of them because he was good in college.
- 46:22And so he's just the thoughts he's going to be he's going to
- 46:25be good in the pros. But still you get these
- 46:27quarterbacks like like Matt Stafford who should be like,
- 46:30well, you're a rookie, I'm going to just challenge you anyway.
- 46:33And sometimes the rookies win so.
- 46:35I'm also going to go in on us seeing a rookie with five plus
- 46:38interceptions this season. So in three out of the last four
- 46:41years we've seen a rookie have at least 5 interceptions and the
- 46:44one year that we didn't, they had four.
- 46:46So the player that I think he's going to get it is Bears safety
- 46:51Dylan Feeneman. Dylan Feeneman is a perfect
- 46:53match for Bears DB coach Al Harris.
- 46:56What does Dylan Tieneman do best?
- 46:57He finds the football. And what does Al Harris teaches
- 47:00DBS to do? Maybe better than anybody find
- 47:02the football. If you look at the history of Al
- 47:04Harris as a DBS coach, he helped the Bears lead the league in
- 47:07takeaways last season and before that he was the DBS coach for
- 47:10the Cowboys for five seasons where he helped the Cowboys
- 47:13defense lead the league in takeaways twice.
- 47:15Al Harris is one of the best at teaching his DBS to take the
- 47:17football away. And so if I'm picking a rookie
- 47:20to get 5 plus interceptions this season, I'm picking Dylan
- 47:22Feeneman because I think he and Al Harris are a perfect match
- 47:25for each other. I was going to say Jermad McCoy
- 47:28just to mess with you, but I decided not to.
- 47:31I don't think any Raiders player is going to have four or five
- 47:34interceptions this year. I just.
- 47:36Don't push The Jets player. We should have picked The Jets
- 47:38player. Did The Jets even who did The
- 47:41Jets even draft corner DeAngelo Pons?
- 47:44Angelo Pons? Sure.
- 47:46That's actually not a bad choice.
- 47:48They need safety help. They did in the seventh round.
- 47:53We should have. Picked.
- 47:55We should have picked that guy. All right.
- 47:57Will do you have anything else to add before we close out here?
- 48:00I probably shouldn't. OK, All right, so that's going
- 48:04to wrap things up for this episode.
- 48:06The NFL schedule is coming out this week and so next week we
- 48:09are going to discuss projected win totals for teams and if
- 48:12those teams will get over or under their projected wins.
- 48:15And we'll be joined by our favorite Chiefs fan and multi
- 48:17time guest on the show, Lincoln Cook.
- 48:20But as always, don't forget to keep your balls played with.
- 48:23We'll see you next time. Bye now y'all.
- 48:25Also, Mark Davis and Sarah Kyle still sucks.
