Speaker 1: And then I woke up this morning and it was raining.
• 1:18
Speaker 1: I've really this climate change is now. It's the situation
• 1:22
Speaker 1: of like the valley and then like mid mountain. You
• 1:25
Speaker 1: have to see where the freezing level is.
• 1:26
Speaker 3: So have you been able to ski it all yet?
• 1:28
Speaker 2: Or no, Yeah, I skied, I've skied. I've skied.
• 1:30
Speaker 1: I've got When you go up top, it's fine, but
• 1:32
Speaker 1: it's just kind of hard to get on the mountain
• 1:34
Speaker 1: in the rain and then go all the way up
• 1:36
Speaker 1: and then you're like, oh, it's snow so but you know,
• 1:39
Speaker 1: I just have to stay focused.
• 1:40
Speaker 3: So what are you doing in this last couple of
• 1:42
Speaker 3: weeks of the year. Are you chilling? Are people visiting?
• 1:45
Speaker 2: People are visiting? People? Are My niece and her boyfriend
• 1:47
  Speaker 2: arrive tomorrow.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: I have another friend coming from that I met on
• 1:52
Speaker 1: my cruise to Antarctica. That's the new pronunciation of Antarctica.
• 1:55
Speaker 1: I was forgetting the second t or the first one.
• 1:59
Speaker 1: And then yeah, I have some people coming, And then oh,
• 2:01
Speaker 1: I've been watching all the movies. I have my link
• 2:03
Speaker 1: for my Critics Choice because I'm hosting the Critics' Choice
• 2:05
Speaker 1: Awards on January fourth, So I have to get all
• 2:08
Speaker 1: of those movies in my brain to come up with
• 2:11
Speaker 1: my jokes and monologue and la la la. I mean,
• 2:13
Speaker 1: I have writers that are also working on it, so
• 2:15
Speaker 1: hopefully they're working harder than I. Hopefully they're watching those movies.
• 2:18
  Speaker 4: Now.
• 2:18
Speaker 5: Okay, I don't know if you're allowed to say, but
• 2:20
Speaker 5: do you have any favorites so far?
• 2:22
Speaker 2: Well? I watched Hamnet yesterday, which made me balla.
• 2:25
Speaker 3: I really want to watch it. I'm very I.
• 2:27
Speaker 2: Mean, I love that.
• 2:28
Speaker 1: I love crying like a baby on my couch alone
• 2:30
Speaker 1: with Doug and then Doug comes over to console me.
• 2:32
  Speaker 2: It's really cute.
• 2:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, Hamnet was beautiful, Jay Kelly, I just started.
• 2:37
Speaker 2: I have to watch that. Adam Sandler is so good
• 2:39
  Speaker 2: when he's like.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: Acting acting, and I don't know, yeah, I've seen so
• 2:44
Speaker 1: many that it's really Oh yeah, Train Dreams with is
• 2:47
Speaker 1: really good with Joel Edgerton and what's that actually Edgerton?
• 2:51
  Speaker 2: Is it? Edgerton?
• 2:52
  Speaker 3: I think it's I think it's your brain though. Okay,
• 2:55
Speaker 3: I'm going we'll look at it.
• 2:57
  Speaker 2: Let's let's make a bet.
• 2:59
Speaker 3: Okay, all right, what should we bet? What should we bet?
• 3:03
Speaker 1: If I'm right, you can't sing sing song words anymore?
• 3:08
Speaker 2: You can't go okay, And if you're right, what can't
• 3:13
  Speaker 2: I do anymore?
• 3:16
Speaker 3: Be mad at me for singing songing?
• 3:18
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, that's fair. Okay, look it up.
• 3:21
Speaker 3: Look it up right now, in real time, looking it up.
• 3:24
Speaker 5: Okay, Edgerton or Edgerton, you're gonna be right. And now
• 3:29
Speaker 5: I'm like you are going to be right. Okay, it's
• 3:32
Speaker 5: coming back to the show our friend Joel Edgerton.
• 3:35
Speaker 2: Oh shit, shit, fuck.
• 3:41
Speaker 5: See now you have to love my sing songing. I
• 3:44
Speaker 5: do try to rain it in sometimes, but you should.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: You should try to rain it in. It doesn't really
• 3:48
Speaker 1: match this podcast. Well I guess it doesn't match the
• 3:50
Speaker 1: podcaus it doesn't match me. It's like a nice balance, right, hopefully, hopefully.
• 3:55
Speaker 3: I was actually afraid it was going to make your
• 3:56
  Speaker 3: head explode, Kevin.
• 3:57
Speaker 4: It'd be like holding in a sneeze.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Save it for the bedroom you two. Okay,
• 4:02
Speaker 1: saved the singing for the bedrooms, please, Okay. Today was
• 4:06
Speaker 1: one of my favorite people We've had so many great
• 4:08
Speaker 1: actresses on lately, and this is another one. She's an
• 4:10
Speaker 1: Academy Award nominated actress, a Golden Globe winner for her
• 4:13
Speaker 1: work in The Dropout, and she has a second Golden
• 4:16
Speaker 1: Globe nomination for her new movie, The Testament of Ann Lee.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: So please welcome Amanda Seifred.
• 4:21
  Speaker 2: Welcome.
• 4:21
Speaker 1: Amanda Seifred is on the podcast today. She's on Dear Chelsea.
• 4:25
Speaker 1: She's coming to us live from her farm. I think
• 4:29
Speaker 1: in the Catskills. I want to say, is that right?
• 4:32
  Speaker 4: Yes?
• 4:33
Speaker 1: Are you gonna audibly respond or are you just going
• 4:35
Speaker 1: to do thumbs up for this interview?
• 4:38
Speaker 3: You know what this is?
• 4:40
Speaker 4: This is zoom culture.
• 4:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Amanda, we've been in zoom culture since fucking
• 4:46
Speaker 1: twenty twenty. You've had five years to get a head start.
• 4:49
Speaker 4: No, it's because I'm used to it. Last night I
• 4:51
Speaker 4: was on an hour long call on mute given you know,
• 4:55
Speaker 4: thumbs ups and aoks.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: You know what is nice about zoom culture is sometime
• 5:00
Speaker 1: you just pretend that you can't get on so that
• 5:03
Speaker 1: you don't have to. Like I've done that before when
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: I've had like a business zoom I'm like, I can't
• 5:08
Speaker 1: make it work. I'm on mute and then I just
• 5:09
Speaker 1: can't and then I just click off, and then the
• 5:12
Speaker 1: meeting's over without me, I mean the meeting.
• 5:15
Speaker 4: Person that does that. And now I'm going to question
• 5:17
  Speaker 4: and every.
• 5:17
Speaker 2: Time, right right, So we have a lot to celebrate.
• 5:21
Speaker 1: Amanda was just nominated for You've been nominated for Golden
• 5:25
Speaker 1: Globes before? Right for mam and Mia. You got nominated
• 5:27
Speaker 1: and I think you won. Oh whoops, Okay, you were
• 5:31
Speaker 1: snubbed that year. So she was nominated this year. We're
• 5:35
Speaker 1: gonna she's lip syncing again. She was nominated for It's
• 5:40
Speaker 1: called the Testament of Ann Lee and this is a move.
• 5:44
  Speaker 2: So congratulations, Amanda.
• 5:45
Speaker 1: Why don't you take your flowers for a second, say
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: thank you.
• 5:48
Speaker 4: Thank you so much, double double time. It's been great.
• 5:53
Speaker 4: I did not get a Golden Globe nomination from Mom
• 5:55
Speaker 4: and Mia, but that was okay.
• 5:58
Speaker 2: Did you get another Golden Globe nomination before?
• 6:01
Speaker 4: I got a nomination and I won for the dropout
• 6:05
  Speaker 4: and I wasn't there.
• 6:07
Speaker 2: Oh wow, that's pretty tricky. Where were you on your farm?
• 6:12
Speaker 4: No, I had to work.
• 6:14
Speaker 1: You said that in quotes, like you put quotes up
• 6:17
Speaker 1: like you didn't really have to work.
• 6:18
Speaker 6: I totally had to work. It was it was it
• 6:21
Speaker 6: would have been impossible. It probably would have been impossible,
• 6:25
Speaker 6: but it was it felt like too tricky to get
• 6:29
Speaker 6: all the way to LA that.
• 6:30
Speaker 2: The night from working, where were you?
• 6:34
Speaker 4: I was so actually, do I have a workshop of
• 6:36
Speaker 4: a musical? And it felt like everybody's schedule had to
• 6:43
Speaker 4: align for so long that we finally got them all
• 6:46
Speaker 4: to a line in this one week and it just
• 6:47
Speaker 4: happened to be that golden glow week, so like it
• 6:50
Speaker 4: was the first thing I had won, and then I couldn't.
• 6:54
Speaker 4: I didn't get to accept it, which I guess, you know,
• 6:57
  Speaker 4: maybe that's a blessing.
• 6:59
Speaker 2: Well, listen, and I'm aware of your anxiety.
• 7:01
Speaker 1: You've talked a lot about your anxiety, and I think
• 7:03
Speaker 1: it is a blessing because if you had to get
• 7:06
Speaker 1: up on that stage, who knows which way the wind
• 7:08
Speaker 1: would have blown, you know what I mean, Because you're
• 7:10
Speaker 1: a little bit like you don't know what's.
• 7:12
Speaker 4: Going to happen. X factor, man, Yeah, it's.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: An X factor, which I fucking I mean, listen, we
• 7:17
Speaker 1: all fucking love it. But probably for your personal well being,
• 7:21
Speaker 1: it was better for you to be in a workshop
• 7:23
Speaker 1: and that's also very professional that you were able to
• 7:26
Speaker 1: say I'm not going to go to the first nomination
• 7:28
Speaker 1: I got, then win and then come back to your
• 7:31
  Speaker 1: group of actors.
• 7:32
Speaker 2: They must have even respected you more after that.
• 7:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, well I'll follow up with all of those people,
• 7:39
  Speaker 1: I think.
• 7:39
Speaker 4: So there was a lot of celebration. Actually, yeah, it
• 7:42
  Speaker 4: was nice.
• 7:42
Speaker 2: So you were nominated for Critics Choice Award this year.
• 7:45
Speaker 1: Just so you know, I'm hosting the Critics Choice, so
• 7:47
Speaker 1: I know that I I am definitely going to single
• 7:53
Speaker 1: you out and do something funny for you or about you,
• 7:56
Speaker 1: because you know how I feel about you, and I
• 7:58
Speaker 1: just think that you deserve that.
• 8:00
Speaker 4: Thank you in any way, shape or form. I would
• 8:03
Speaker 4: be happy to join you.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: Maybe we will do something cute together. That's actually a
• 8:08
Speaker 1: great idea. But I am very excited that you got
• 8:10
Speaker 1: nominated because, first of all, I just want to be
• 8:13
Speaker 1: in total seriousness. This is one of the most talented
• 8:16
Speaker 1: people in this industry. She can do fucking anything. She
• 8:19
Speaker 1: can do anything, demonstrated by her two movies that are
• 8:22
Speaker 1: out right now. I think Housemaid comes out tomorrow and
• 8:27
Speaker 1: the Testament of Ann Lee is going to come out
• 8:30
Speaker 1: shortly after so, and these are two completely different movies.
• 8:34
Speaker 1: One is about the Quaker movement and this woman let's
• 8:38
Speaker 1: talk about the Testament of Ann Lee because this is
• 8:40
Speaker 1: I had to watch this movie twice.
• 8:41
Speaker 2: The first time I was stoned.
• 8:44
Speaker 4: We watching it stone This is a enhanced experience.
• 8:50
Speaker 1: It was I didn't understand which religion we were in.
• 8:53
Speaker 1: I understood, like, there's a lot of singing and dancing,
• 8:56
Speaker 1: which I all hope turns into TikTok dances because they're
• 8:59
Speaker 1: in ten and Amanda's an incredible singer. I heard you
• 9:02
Speaker 1: sing that Carol King song I don't know on Who's
• 9:05
Speaker 1: Late night show recently because you were joney Jony Oh, yeah,
• 9:09
Speaker 1: Joni Mitchell, Sorry, not Carol King, No love Joni Mitchell.
• 9:13
Speaker 2: Which what was a song called California.
• 9:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like a quick little I know.
• 9:18
Speaker 1: But but you were talking about your voice and your
• 9:20
Speaker 1: singing voice and saying that you don't really believe like
• 9:24
Speaker 1: I guess you. Uh, what was the movie you auditioned
• 9:26
Speaker 1: for that you didn't get where you had to sing?
• 9:30
Speaker 4: You want me to say it out loud? Well, if
• 9:32
  Speaker 4: you've only I'm kidding, no, no, it's a joke. I'm
• 9:35
  Speaker 4: over it.
• 9:36
Speaker 1: At Wicked Wicked right, Oh right, so that's even a
• 9:39
Speaker 1: double whammy, so all of it.
• 9:41
Speaker 2: But look see, look at this, no exactly.
• 9:43
Speaker 4: It's all happened exactly like I. I truly believe that
• 9:51
Speaker 4: it was for the best, for sure, for everyone involved,
• 9:56
Speaker 4: because I got to do this too.
• 9:58
Speaker 1: You were talking on this interview that I saw about
• 10:00
Speaker 1: your singing voice, and you were saying how how much
• 10:03
Speaker 1: you've worked on your singing voice since lay Miss, and
• 10:07
Speaker 1: in lay Miss we all thought you fucking nailed it,
• 10:09
Speaker 1: and you were saying that you have become a better
• 10:12
Speaker 1: singer since then, and that you weren't at the level
• 10:16
Speaker 1: or at the place you wanted to be when you
• 10:18
  Speaker 1: filmed lay Miss.
• 10:18
Speaker 2: Do you still agree with that assessment?
• 10:21
Speaker 4: Boy, I agree with that assessment. I also but I
• 10:25
Speaker 4: also completely let go of the need to access something
• 10:30
Speaker 4: that I might not ever be able to access in
• 10:33
Speaker 4: terms of like the control of the vibrato and the
• 10:37
Speaker 4: stamina and the breath work. I understand that I'm not
• 10:41
Speaker 4: gonna be starring in a musical on Broadway where I
• 10:44
Speaker 4: need the kind of stamina that I that I was
• 10:46
Speaker 4: I've been trying to build. I'm I'm you know, my voices,
• 10:49
Speaker 4: specifically because I ended up doing something like ann Lee,
• 10:52
Speaker 4: where it wasn't about how it sounded, it was about
• 10:55
Speaker 4: where it came from. It was about how it was felt,
• 10:58
Speaker 4: not just by me but by the audience right, but
• 11:00
Speaker 4: by her followers. And it's like I finally stopped listening
• 11:04
Speaker 4: to myself in the way that kind of made it
• 11:06
Speaker 4: not fun to sing. I mean, I listen. I will
• 11:09
Speaker 4: say during my wicked auditions, I sang better than I
• 11:13
  Speaker 4: thought I would.
• 11:14
  Speaker 2: I felt I was.
• 11:16
Speaker 4: I think it came with the excitement, the momentum of
• 11:19
Speaker 4: how much I was training for it, and I was
• 11:23
Speaker 4: very proud of myself. For sure, that will never go away.
• 11:25
Speaker 4: But I also realized maybe I'm just not that kind
• 11:28
Speaker 4: of singer and I don't need to sound like anyone else.
• 11:32
Speaker 4: It took me four years, but at least I'm here,
• 11:34
Speaker 4: and you know when I listen, if I were to
• 11:39
Speaker 4: listen to the songs and lame is, it was exactly
• 11:41
Speaker 4: how it needed to be for that time. And ann
• 11:45
Speaker 4: Lee came and I was able to be The opportunity
• 11:49
Speaker 4: was amazing and it was perfect for where my voice
• 11:51
Speaker 4: was in that it's a human voice, not a trained voice.
• 11:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, I like what you just said.
• 11:58
Speaker 1: That's perfectly sad because you are singing for like your followers,
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: and you are.
• 12:04
Speaker 2: Leading these this group of people.
• 12:06
Speaker 1: And then I love midway through the movie, she gives herself,
• 12:10
Speaker 1: she becomes christ, she becomes like the female christ As,
• 12:13
Speaker 1: and then uses that as an excuse to stop having
• 12:16
Speaker 1: sex with her husband, which I think is really a
• 12:19
Speaker 1: tale as old as time.
• 12:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know what everybody was like, Oh, for Jesus,
• 12:29
Speaker 4: for peace, for communion with God. Sure, listen, I don't
• 12:34
Speaker 4: think any of us would announce or you know, eliminate
• 12:40
Speaker 4: fornication nowadays, because even though it's tricky, it's still incredibly pleasurable.
• 12:49
Speaker 4: But they weren't up for pleasure. They wanted peace, and
• 12:53
Speaker 4: it was it made sense to her in her trauma. Yes,
• 12:57
Speaker 4: in her trauma woman, you know, losing these children. The
• 13:01
Speaker 4: direct you know, the direct line between sex and pain
• 13:07
Speaker 4: was too clear for her.
• 13:09
Speaker 2: It had to be painful. Everything had to be painful.
• 13:12
Speaker 4: Yeah, and it makes sense. It made sense for her.
• 13:14
Speaker 4: But the fact that, you know, almost six thousand people
• 13:17
Speaker 4: at one one point were like, yeah, I can do
• 13:20
Speaker 4: that too, right, lose my mind. I would love to
• 13:24
Speaker 4: know how many people were hiding.
• 13:28
Speaker 5: And control there was earth control, so you know kind
• 13:32
Speaker 5: of there's a giveaway at the end of that.
• 13:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, right, right, exactly. So how is this because you
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: had a female director? So I mean, and there's a
• 13:39
Speaker 1: lot of nudity. There's a lot of sex in this movie.
• 13:42
Speaker 1: There's a lot of childbirth, child yes, a lot of childbirth,
• 13:47
Speaker 1: a lot of like bearing, I mean birthing positions that
• 13:51
Speaker 1: I hadn't been familiar with prior to watching them.
• 13:54
  Speaker 4: It's it's a lesson for a lot of people that
• 13:57
Speaker 4: childbirth is a tramatic for most people. And there's nothing
• 14:05
Speaker 4: like a scene in a movie where you can see
• 14:08
Speaker 4: it from where it's all happening and necessary, I think necessary.
• 14:13
Speaker 4: Do you know, Like apparently this is a rumor. I
• 14:16
Speaker 4: don't know if it's for sure, but I believe it
• 14:19
Speaker 4: to be true that in Venice fifteen men walked out
• 14:22
  Speaker 4: after that scene.
• 14:24
Speaker 2: Oh I read that. I read that. Oh that's so.
• 14:30
Speaker 4: And I'm like, men, men, these are your babies.
• 14:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, you increase your seed, Your seed created this baby exactly.
• 14:39
Speaker 4: The seed is from you.
• 14:40
Speaker 1: I posted this thing on Instagram the other day where
• 14:42
Speaker 1: I was like, uh, it was a quote from share
• 14:44
Speaker 1: about you know what men, If men knew if men
• 14:47
Speaker 1: had to give up and interrupt their career and give
• 14:50
Speaker 1: up nine months of their physical life and breast for them, Yeah,
• 14:54
Speaker 1: all of the things like that, they would want to
• 14:56
Speaker 1: have a say in it. And I posted it and
• 14:59
Speaker 1: like credited share and like there's like fifty guys on
• 15:02
Speaker 1: there going. You don't think this affects our life too?
• 15:05
Speaker 1: Like this is so sexist to say it only impacts women.
• 15:08
Speaker 1: It's like, oh, shut up, just shut up.
• 15:11
Speaker 2: You're missing the whole fucking point.
• 15:14
Speaker 1: But how was it working doing all of that, all
• 15:16
Speaker 1: those sex scenes, all those birthing scenes, Like how was
• 15:18
Speaker 1: it working with a female director versus a male director?
• 15:21
Speaker 2: Was there a big difference for you?
• 15:23
Speaker 4: Well, there's no question with Mona, she and I have lived.
• 15:28
Speaker 4: We can relate on things that I can relate to
• 15:31
  Speaker 4: with men. And that's just a fact. There's a trust,
• 15:34
Speaker 4: there's an innate trust in how it's going to be
• 15:36
Speaker 4: shot and why it's important. There are no questions at
• 15:40
Speaker 4: a certain point when you go on a set, you
• 15:43
Speaker 4: have you know, we've got our DP, who's a man
• 15:46
Speaker 4: who I've loved and trust and like a family member.
• 15:51
Speaker 4: We have these male crew members. But when there's a
• 15:53
Speaker 4: woman who's in charge of how it's being shot and
• 15:57
Speaker 4: what's being seen and how the story is going to unfold,
• 16:01
Speaker 4: it just feels heavier, it feels more empowered, and it
• 16:04
Speaker 4: feels more truthful when it especially when it comes to
• 16:08
Speaker 4: to that kind of content, to that that kind of
• 16:11
Speaker 4: situation and experience. And I'm not saying a mail director
• 16:14
Speaker 4: couldn't have done it beautifully. I'm just saying my perspective
• 16:18
Speaker 4: and the way I felt in that room, that tiny
• 16:21
Speaker 4: little room, I was empowered as well. And I probably
• 16:24
Speaker 4: would have been empowered like I worked with Adam mcgoy
• 16:26
Speaker 4: and I was super naked in a movie I did
• 16:29
Speaker 4: when I was twenty more called Chloe, and I didn't
• 16:33
Speaker 4: question much because there was a lot of there's a
• 16:34
Speaker 4: lot of discussion around the whole thing. For a while,
• 16:38
Speaker 4: it felt, it felt the way it needed that, you know,
• 16:42
Speaker 4: we were doing everything right. But I'm just saying, like
• 16:45
  Speaker 4: with Mona, and I don't know, she's just got a
• 16:47
Speaker 4: sensitivity to these things. And I'm not saying you've have
• 16:51
Speaker 4: you have to have gone through childbirth to understand it.
• 16:54
Speaker 4: They's just just's a sensibility that we have and an
• 16:57
Speaker 4: instinct that we have as women that for me, when
• 17:00
Speaker 4: I'm working, especially in with that kind of subject matter,
• 17:04
Speaker 4: I just feel a little closer to it. I feel
• 17:06
Speaker 4: a little bit more, it's read more reachable. I just
• 17:10
Speaker 4: feel like I'm being taken care of as well. Long
• 17:14
Speaker 4: story short, No, No, I like.
• 17:16
Speaker 1: To hear you talk about it because I'm curious about
• 17:18
Speaker 1: what kind of actor you are? You a method actor
• 17:20
Speaker 1: because these two projects you're not ny not not because
• 17:27
Speaker 1: these two projects are so different, Like Housemaid, I can't
• 17:30
Speaker 1: imagine that that's a method acting role, right, that's more
• 17:34
Speaker 1: of like camp and like you know, crazy kind of
• 17:38
Speaker 1: like thriller, and it's based on all these books. And
• 17:40
Speaker 1: then this one is real serious, like you've got to
• 17:43
Speaker 1: do your research, research, research, So how do you approach
• 17:46
Speaker 1: two different roles like this?
• 17:48
Speaker 2: Like what do you do as an actor?
• 17:50
Speaker 4: The thing about Aileen is that she's a real iconic
• 17:53
Speaker 4: person whose story has not been told in really any
• 18:00
Speaker 4: rand way that she so deserves, I think, and so
• 18:04
Speaker 4: like there's a lot of responsibility because to know everything
• 18:08
Speaker 4: I could possibly know about her, and also to learn
• 18:11
Speaker 4: everything because there's so much collaboration. Obviously it was like
• 18:13
Speaker 4: eighteenth century. We don't know what those dances really look like.
• 18:17
Speaker 4: We don't know exactly how she's sang. Like, there's so
• 18:19
Speaker 4: many things that we had the freedom to explore and
• 18:24
Speaker 4: change and design. So with those designs, I had to
• 18:28
Speaker 4: like completely embody the like I had to move. I
• 18:31
Speaker 4: don't hate dancing, but I had to learn the choreography.
• 18:34
Speaker 4: I had to understand why each move was happening from
• 18:38
Speaker 4: a spiritual point of view, from from a necessity point
• 18:41
Speaker 4: of view. Because she was so committed and so devoted.
• 18:46
Speaker 4: I just had to embody someone in a way that
• 18:48
Speaker 4: I haven't before because of because of the nature of
• 18:51
Speaker 4: like what treat what she created, and she was only
• 18:54
Speaker 4: able to create that because she's so believed that she
• 18:57
Speaker 4: was the Messiah. And I just had toll in love
• 19:00
Speaker 4: with her, Like like with Elizabeth Holmes, I had to
• 19:03
Speaker 4: fall in love with her. I just have to somehow
• 19:05
Speaker 4: find it in my you know, find the sisterhood created
• 19:09
Speaker 4: which comes from compassion and all that stuff, you know,
• 19:11
Speaker 4: human to human stuff, like you know, being able to
• 19:14
Speaker 4: relate to the character you're playing. But I also had to,
• 19:17
Speaker 4: like I mean, I just had to. There was so
• 19:19
Speaker 4: much pre production, so much preparation because there was a
• 19:21
  Speaker 4: Manchester accent too.
• 19:22
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that was really good.
• 19:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a great hill.
• 19:26
Speaker 2: And is that you narrating the whole film?
• 19:28
Speaker 4: No, that's Thomas and Mackenzie with her accent and she's
• 19:31
  Speaker 4: from New Zealand.
• 19:32
Speaker 1: Oh okay, because I was confused because I was like,
• 19:34
Speaker 1: this sounded like you sometimes, and then it was watched
• 19:36
Speaker 1: its Stone, I know, and that's why I went back
• 19:39
Speaker 1: and I watched you and yeah, but also it's okay,
• 19:42
Speaker 1: Like I think the experience you had watching Desmond Manley's
• 19:46
Speaker 1: Stone must have been somewhat confusing, but also maybe enlightening
• 19:52
Speaker 1: in a different way.
• 19:53
Speaker 4: I think it's wonderful. I actually told my caretaker of
• 19:56
Speaker 4: my farm who's not here today, to you know, have
• 20:00
Speaker 4: like a shot of rum.
• 20:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, you should have a shot of something, absolutely,
• 20:03
Speaker 1: because it's a lot to take in, and it's something
• 20:06
Speaker 1: that's so foreign to modern day like you know, what
• 20:09
Speaker 1: we believe in, like modern day culture. Like you really
• 20:11
Speaker 1: have to get into it. And the good thing about
• 20:14
Speaker 1: being stoned is that you kind of just drop judgment
• 20:16
Speaker 1: and you're just kind of taking something in.
• 20:19
  Speaker 2: That's what I like about it. Sometimes when I'm I
• 20:21
Speaker 2: watch a movie and I'm not stoned. I'm like right away, like, oh.
• 20:26
Speaker 1: Like you know this is this is not necessary, this
• 20:28
Speaker 1: is gratuitous, or this is too much sex, or this
• 20:30
Speaker 1: is what I want to.
• 20:32
Speaker 4: Drop, like for watching all these Academy movies.
• 20:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's first of all, some of it's homework,
• 20:39
Speaker 1: and I hate things that feel like homework.
• 20:42
  Speaker 4: But but I should be stoned. I'm I'm I think
• 20:46
  Speaker 4: I bought gummies I like CBD, but I haven't taken
• 20:50
Speaker 4: them yet because I'm afraid to get stoned because the
• 20:53
Speaker 4: times I've been really stone have been people. I'm sure
• 20:57
Speaker 4: I've told you some of these stories before. It's bad,
• 21:00
Speaker 4: but I think I should do that because when I
• 21:01
Speaker 4: was watching another movie the night, I'm like, ugh, why
• 21:04
Speaker 4: are they shooting it at that well? Why are we
• 21:06
Speaker 4: watching it from this direction? Why do they say that?
• 21:08
Speaker 4: Like okay too, Like I'm just judging everything exactly.
• 21:11
Speaker 1: And that's that's that's the best gift that cannabis gives me,
• 21:15
Speaker 1: is to drop the judgment.
• 21:16
Speaker 2: I just can be and enjoy something.
• 21:18
Speaker 1: So we need to just find you the right concoction
• 21:21
Speaker 1: because I know your personality is a little bit tricky
• 21:23
Speaker 1: with drugs and stuff.
• 21:24
Speaker 4: There's like a two point five THHC gummy that has
• 21:27
Speaker 4: like a lot more CBD in it as Charlotte's Web.
• 21:30
Speaker 1: It can have a lot more CBD in it because
• 21:31
Speaker 1: it's two point five milligrams, so whatever it has to see.
• 21:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, but it doesn't.
• 21:36
Speaker 1: That's two point It's like that's nothing anyway, So two
• 21:39
  Speaker 1: point five.
• 21:39
  Speaker 4: I'm not a scientist.
• 21:41
  Speaker 5: I am.
• 21:41
Speaker 2: I am a scientist. Soy scientist stuff, soy.
• 21:44
Speaker 1: Astronauta soy, so askedro Glida. Let's talk about what's happening
• 21:51
Speaker 1: on this farm that you live on.
• 21:53
Speaker 2: I love that you live in the cat Skills on
• 21:55
Speaker 2: a farm with your two kids and your husband.
• 21:57
Speaker 1: Is it's so night. Tell us about your life and
• 22:00
Speaker 1: my mom and your mom. Yeah, she'd right over there.
• 22:03
  Speaker 2: Hi mom, I.
• 22:05
Speaker 4: Can't hear you because you put maybe put headphones. Else
• 22:09
Speaker 4: is here, decrepit sixteen year old dog.
• 22:11
Speaker 1: She's waving, Oh your poor dog.
• 22:16
Speaker 4: I know. And I saw him yesterday. I was on
• 22:19
Speaker 4: I was on his zoom and I saw him whip
• 22:21
Speaker 4: by so fast from the barn to the house, and
• 22:24
Speaker 4: I saw car backing up, and I was like, this
• 22:26
Speaker 4: might be the woman no, it might be the woman.
• 22:28
Speaker 4: He gets it or falls because of the ice. And
• 22:32
Speaker 4: he's an idiot. He's sixteen, and he keeps running, tries
• 22:35
Speaker 4: to eat everything. Anyway, The farm's great, it's it's great.
• 22:39
Speaker 4: It's great. I'm leaving again right after I talk to you,
• 22:41
Speaker 4: and I gotta go to the city and do some
• 22:43
Speaker 4: concerts tonight. I don't even want to. I don't even know.
• 22:46
  Speaker 2: Are you singing?
• 22:47
Speaker 4: Singing some some stuff from the a lead?
• 22:50
Speaker 2: And so your mom's there to hold down the fort
• 22:52
  Speaker 2: while you.
• 22:52
Speaker 4: Go with Tommy. And then although he's in the city
• 22:56
Speaker 4: right now, because he also had a life, it's really tricky.
• 23:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, where why does he get to have a life?
• 23:03
Speaker 4: No, the no, it's great. It's it's just it was
• 23:07
Speaker 4: six degrees when we got up today, and so all
• 23:09
Speaker 4: the animals are walking on ice, and when they have
• 23:12
Speaker 4: four feet, right, four legs, all of them have four legs,
• 23:17
Speaker 4: four wheel drive. It's great. And there are a lot
• 23:20
Speaker 4: of them in the barn, and so it's it's we
• 23:22
Speaker 4: got a lot of heat lamps up, and I always
• 23:24
Speaker 4: think about fires, and you know, it's it's managing a lot.
• 23:28
Speaker 4: And I understand that I chose this life so I
• 23:32
Speaker 4: can't whine about it. But it's tricky. I like the
• 23:36
  Speaker 4: word tricky.
• 23:37
Speaker 2: I do too, I'm cos yeah.
• 23:40
Speaker 1: And it's also you have to keep an eye on
• 23:41
Speaker 1: It's not that you're complaining about it. You just have
• 23:43
Speaker 1: a lot, a bigger set of responsibilities.
• 23:45
Speaker 4: This morning, I drop the kids off and said goodbye
• 23:47
Speaker 4: and cried because I should be getting my period eighty second.
• 23:51
  Speaker 2: Did they cry?
• 23:52
  Speaker 7: No?
• 23:53
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I cry.
• 23:55
Speaker 4: And and their classrooms are next to each other. It's
• 23:58
Speaker 4: it's a nice life. And and then I got back
• 24:01
Speaker 4: and I decided to go with the time. I had
• 24:03
Speaker 4: to help the person who's feeding right now and do
• 24:07
Speaker 4: the stalls and do the take the horseshit out of
• 24:11
Speaker 4: the stalls and put new shavings in the stalls and
• 24:13
Speaker 4: do the buckets and stuff. And that is my least
• 24:16
Speaker 4: favorite chore. But I did it because I wanted to
• 24:18
Speaker 4: feel productive and like I was being helpful.
• 24:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, I get that feeling all that.
• 24:23
Speaker 1: I always feel like what am I really contributing, you know,
• 24:26
Speaker 1: other than my personality, because I don't make a ton
• 24:28
Speaker 1: of contributions, like I can't do cook.
• 24:31
  Speaker 2: I mean I'm trying to.
• 24:32
Speaker 1: But last night I tried to take out these sweet
• 24:33
Speaker 1: potatoes from the oven, and the pan fell out of
• 24:36
Speaker 1: my hands, and then all the sweet potatoes fell into
• 24:39
Speaker 1: the crease of the oven.
• 24:40
Speaker 2: So I had nailed it.
• 24:41
Speaker 1: I had made a turkey burger with cheese, grilled onions,
• 24:44
Speaker 1: and a poached egg on top. I was like, fuck
• 24:47
Speaker 1: me right now, I'm the ruler of all kitchens.
• 24:51
  Speaker 2: And then I.
• 24:52
Speaker 1: Went to go take out the sweet potatoes as a
• 24:54
Speaker 1: nice little accent, and then everything went sideways.
• 24:56
Speaker 2: So I declared victory too early.
• 24:58
Speaker 1: So that's as like sophisticated as I've ever gotten in
• 25:01
Speaker 1: the kitchen was last night's turkey burger.
• 25:03
Speaker 4: I don't even know how to poach an egg.
• 25:05
Speaker 1: Oh, oh, well great. I love being one step ahead
• 25:08
Speaker 1: of you in the kitchen. Oh you're seventy thousand steps
• 25:12
Speaker 1: out of me in the kitchen. I don't know anything.
• 25:14
Speaker 2: Well, it sounds like you know how to farm a
• 25:15
  Speaker 2: little bit.
• 25:16
Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's not in the kitchen.
• 25:18
Speaker 1: No, but it sounds like you're making a contribution, like, yeah, yes,
• 25:21
  Speaker 1: you're right.
• 25:22
Speaker 2: Can you clean? Like are you good at cleaning up messes?
• 25:25
  Speaker 4: Yes?
• 25:26
  Speaker 2: Okay, I can't do that either. No I can't. I
• 25:28
Speaker 2: just guess you can. I could, I guess, but I
• 25:30
  Speaker 2: don't ever heard.
• 25:31
  Speaker 4: Of a cloroxoide.
• 25:32
  Speaker 2: I don't like to just I don't like any sort
• 25:34
Speaker 2: of like stain removal. I have to get someone else involved.
• 25:38
Speaker 4: All the Really, if you're all alone and one of
• 25:40
Speaker 4: the dogs is two, right, there's one now? Yeah, snack, yeah, snack,
• 25:45
Speaker 4: and a snack takes a giant dump on your.
• 25:47
Speaker 1: Carpet, Snack will get put down. If he did something
• 25:50
Speaker 1: like that, that would make he's.
• 25:51
Speaker 4: Gone up because he's going to get old.
• 25:53
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no, he's First of all,
• 25:55
Speaker 2: he's not going to get old.
• 25:56
Speaker 1: I will clone him before that happens. Secondly, he's two
• 25:59
Speaker 1: and a half. So don't get ahead of yourself and
• 26:00
Speaker 1: project about your sixteen year old dog.
• 26:02
Speaker 2: Okay to my two and a half.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: I said, Demanda, picture of snack of dog the other day,
• 26:08
Speaker 1: and she goes, that's a snack. What's your dog's name again, Ben?
• 26:15
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, Finn's been around forever. Finn has these
• 26:18
Speaker 1: crazy eyes too. Doesn't he have two different color eyes?
• 26:21
Speaker 4: Nope, you're getting that confused with somebody else's dog. M interesting,
• 26:26
Speaker 4: But I do have a horse with two different color eyes.
• 26:28
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you're such a farmer. I love it, Amanda.
• 26:32
Speaker 4: Tell me why you decided to move to a farm.
• 26:36
Speaker 4: You know why not?
• 26:38
Speaker 1: But do you think that it helps I think it
• 26:40
Speaker 1: probably helps you when you go away a ton, right,
• 26:44
Speaker 1: like for your work and career, it's so nice to
• 26:47
Speaker 1: be removed from all of that.
• 26:50
  Speaker 4: It's it's that you it's so basic here. It's not
• 26:54
Speaker 4: it's not basic like basic meaning nature is bigger than
• 27:00
Speaker 4: you here, like you in the mountains, like you're inside
• 27:05
Speaker 4: of this giant world and you in some ways you've
• 27:11
Speaker 4: be protected because nature is very powerful. But it's it's
• 27:17
Speaker 4: not trying to fuck with you. It's not judging you.
• 27:21
Speaker 4: It's not trying to take your job or belittle you
• 27:25
Speaker 4: or manipulate you. It's just there. And when all the
• 27:30
Speaker 4: noise is gone, there's probably a frequency, a lower frequency
• 27:34
Speaker 4: that you're operating on, which is probably really healthy. And
• 27:38
Speaker 4: also like you get to worry about real things. And
• 27:41
Speaker 4: I'm not saying that like living in Hollywood or living
• 27:43
Speaker 4: in New York City is bad for me. I'm just saying, like,
• 27:47
Speaker 4: I mean, take it a chunk of it and really
• 27:49
Speaker 4: enjoy myself, you know, getting in an uber and going
• 27:52
Speaker 4: from one place in the next and then walking from
• 27:54
Speaker 4: one block to the next and getting a Starbucks and
• 27:56
Speaker 4: a day bar bagel and a pedicure, always an hour.
• 28:01
  Speaker 4: It's dreamy, but it's you know, it's for a good
• 28:05
  Speaker 4: temporary fix.
• 28:07
Speaker 2: It can be taxing.
• 28:08
Speaker 4: It can be taxing. Yeah, I don't need all that energy.
• 28:10
  Speaker 2: I'm with you. I listen.
• 28:11
Speaker 1: I spend about forty five days a year max in
• 28:14
Speaker 1: Los Angeles because I love to just be out and
• 28:16
Speaker 1: about in different places.
• 28:17
Speaker 2: So I can relate to what you're saying.
• 28:19
Speaker 1: Let's as Catherine you said, we have a caller, right,
• 28:22
Speaker 1: We're gonna take a quick break. We're gonna be back
• 28:24
Speaker 1: with Amanda Seyphred, and we're gonna take a caller because
• 28:26
Speaker 1: a man, I think you should be.
• 28:27
Speaker 2: Giving advice to people.
• 28:28
Speaker 1: That's the obvious next step, and this is an advice
• 28:30
  Speaker 1: call in show.
• 28:31
Speaker 2: So we're gonna take a break. We'll be right back.
• 28:37
Speaker 1: And we're back with Amanda Ceiphred and we're taking our
• 28:40
  Speaker 1: first caller, Amanda.
• 28:41
Speaker 2: Okay, so lock in.
• 28:44
Speaker 5: I'm really excited about this question. So Angela, I'm not
• 28:48
Speaker 5: gonna read the subject line because it kind of gives
• 28:50
Speaker 5: it away. It's fairy don't great, she says, Dear Chelsea,
• 28:53
Speaker 5: I'm a thirty four year old child free woman in
• 28:56
Speaker 5: what feels like a full blown real life plot twist.
• 28:59
Speaker 5: Two years I left my job and finally chased my dream,
• 29:02
Speaker 5: starting my own floral business specializing in senior assisted living centers.
• 29:07
Speaker 5: Since then, I've been piecing a living together with part
• 29:09
Speaker 5: time gigs until one of those just ended. And now
• 29:12
Speaker 5: it's go big or go broke. But also it's terrifying
• 29:15
Speaker 5: but also a little thrilling. Here's where it gets messy.
• 29:18
Speaker 5: Seven months ago, at a giant flower conference, I met
• 29:21
Speaker 5: a man who owns a rose business in Ecuador. We
• 29:24
Speaker 5: spent six hours talking and surprisingly fell into a long
• 29:28
  Speaker 5: distance whirlwind romance.
• 29:30
Speaker 2: I love it already.
• 29:32
Speaker 5: I've never been known as a hopeless romantic, but he's
• 29:34
Speaker 5: turned out to be my exception. Since then, we've seen
• 29:37
Speaker 5: each other about every six weeks Ecuador, Spain, Rome, the
• 29:40
Speaker 5: whole Montage. It's dreamy but draining my bank account. And
• 29:43
Speaker 5: while he hopes I'll eventually join him in Ecuador, I'm
• 29:46
Speaker 5: still trying to keep my business alive. Here do I
• 29:48
Speaker 5: double down on my business plan or go full eat
• 29:51
Speaker 5: prey love Florist Edition, Sincerely a confused Realist.
• 29:54
  Speaker 3: Angela.
• 29:55
  Speaker 2: Hi Angela.
• 29:57
Speaker 1: First of all, yeh, fucking go for it. First, you
• 30:00
Speaker 1: should the look in Amanda's eyes. She's in love. Now
• 30:04
Speaker 1: look at her. She's looking at Fault and her husband
• 30:06
Speaker 1: the first time they fell in love. We all have
• 30:09
Speaker 1: love in our eyes. You have to go for this adventure.
• 30:12
Speaker 1: That is my passionate opinion about life. Anytime there's a
• 30:16
Speaker 1: time to take a jump, and you've been given some
• 30:18
Speaker 1: proof that that's the right jump, you don't even need
• 30:20
Speaker 1: the proof. You just need to trust your instincts and
• 30:23
Speaker 1: go for it. What's stopping you?
• 30:25
  Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, I guess, I just I've built my
• 30:27
Speaker 8: life here. I live in Buffalo. I'm not from Buffalo,
• 30:31
Speaker 8: and I came here eight years ago, and I've like
• 30:33
Speaker 8: built my life here, and so it just feels so
• 30:38
Speaker 8: I guess, almost wrong to let it go after I
• 30:42
Speaker 8: put so much work in to it for a man.
• 30:45
Speaker 8: But then again, it's like like I said, he's kind
• 30:47
  Speaker 8: of my exception.
• 30:48
Speaker 4: It's so different letting it go. It's still there. I mean,
• 30:53
Speaker 4: first of all, Buffalo.
• 30:55
  Speaker 8: Yeah, I know.
• 30:56
Speaker 4: Again, I get out just very little.
• 31:00
  Speaker 8: I lovely too, but it's.
• 31:03
Speaker 2: It's coming from a woman on a farm in the snow.
• 31:06
Speaker 2: Is there anyone that can watch your business while your
• 31:09
Speaker 2: you go in gallivant around with your guy from Ecuador?
• 31:12
Speaker 8: I mean, not fully yet, just because it's such a
• 31:17
Speaker 8: small business. I've been running it pretty much by myself.
• 31:20
Speaker 8: But I am going for a month on the nineteenth,
• 31:24
Speaker 8: So I'm going to stay there for a month just
• 31:26
Speaker 8: to kind of give it a little bit of a
• 31:27
Speaker 8: trial run then, I guess, just to see how it
• 31:30
Speaker 8: will all work out.
• 31:31
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 31:32
Speaker 1: It's just so, is there anyone in that month that
• 31:34
Speaker 1: you can have, like try and run the business for
• 31:36
Speaker 1: you while you're gone, just to give someone a test run?
• 31:39
  Speaker 8: A woman I haven't like, Yeah, obviously I haven't like
• 31:43
Speaker 8: set anyone up to do that yet, So I guess
• 31:46
Speaker 8: that would be something that I would I'd probably think
• 31:49
Speaker 8: of that doing that before after, like if I go again.
• 31:53
Speaker 1: I know, but just to but to give someone a
• 31:55
Speaker 1: trial run would give you a lot more like confidence
• 31:58
Speaker 1: in maintaining your business. You go and do this just
• 32:01
Speaker 1: in case you need to, Like I understand, giving up
• 32:03
Speaker 1: everything that you've built is more of a harder period
• 32:06
Speaker 1: to swallow in search of romance. But like if you
• 32:10
Speaker 1: go and you go down to Ecuador and live with
• 32:12
Speaker 1: this guy, are you guys going to be working together
• 32:14
  Speaker 1: down there?
• 32:15
  Speaker 7: No?
• 32:15
Speaker 8: I would have to like find probably a remote job
• 32:18
Speaker 8: or a job down there where it's English speaking, because
• 32:22
Speaker 8: even though dueling go's great, it's just not doing it
• 32:24
Speaker 8: for me right now.
• 32:25
Speaker 2: Well, you have to be on Are you on a streak?
• 32:27
Speaker 2: Are you on to do a lingo streak?
• 32:28
  Speaker 9: Oh?
• 32:29
Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm over two hundred days. Like I metam Like,
• 32:32
  Speaker 8: oh okay.
• 32:34
Speaker 2: Much better than me. What am I talking about, Amanda?
• 32:38
Speaker 2: What do you have to say about this?
• 32:39
Speaker 4: Well, listen, yeah, it's no small thing. But I don't
• 32:44
Speaker 4: see it as you leave in your life for good forever.
• 32:47
Speaker 4: It's not like you have a one way ticket and
• 32:49
Speaker 4: you can't come back. It's like you life is so sure,
• 32:57
Speaker 4: it's like what are we doing? I mean, if you
• 33:01
Speaker 4: feel something like that, like that you have that kind
• 33:03
Speaker 4: of fire in you. This for this experience. It's not
• 33:06
Speaker 4: for a guy. It's for the experience of being in
• 33:08
Speaker 4: love and like traveling the world. It's it's a big
• 33:11
Speaker 4: it's bigger than a guy. So it's like when you
• 33:13
Speaker 4: characterize it as leaving your life for a guy, that's
• 33:15
Speaker 4: not really what's happening. I mean, I think you trust
• 33:18
Speaker 4: yourself in some ways. You're already going for a month.
• 33:20
Speaker 4: It's true that you could hire somebody to take care
• 33:23
Speaker 4: of it, or you can shut it down for a
• 33:25
Speaker 4: month and see and see how it goes. But I
• 33:28
Speaker 4: think you take this opportunity to find someone who's willing
• 33:31
Speaker 4: to maybe keep it, keep it alive for you, because
• 33:34
Speaker 4: if you also have that connection back to your business
• 33:36
Speaker 4: while you're there, as stressful as it could possibly be,
• 33:40
Speaker 4: it would still make you feel like you can do both.
• 33:43
Speaker 3: And then you have a little income.
• 33:44
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 33:45
Speaker 1: And also when you say yes to life, life says
• 33:47
Speaker 1: yes to you. That's just what happens. When you take
• 33:50
Speaker 1: big risks, you get big rewards most of the time.
• 33:53
Speaker 1: And like you've met this guy, I trust that you're
• 33:55
Speaker 1: a sensible person. Just in the short time that you've
• 33:57
Speaker 1: been talking, you don't seem unstable or off balance.
• 34:01
Speaker 2: Or in you know.
• 34:02
Speaker 1: And and I loved what Amanda just said. It's bigger
• 34:05
Speaker 1: than a guy. It's about being in love and about
• 34:07
Speaker 1: the experience of love. It doesn't matter who the person is.
• 34:10
Speaker 1: So I think that you really do have to go
• 34:13
Speaker 1: down and listen. You're gonna go down for a month
• 34:14
Speaker 1: and you're gonna have your answer anyway.
• 34:16
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I would just plan that after I wrote
• 34:19
Speaker 8: in So, yeah, I guess that will be a big tell.
• 34:23
  Speaker 4: Nice.
• 34:24
Speaker 2: There is no better feeling than falling in love. It
• 34:26
Speaker 2: is the best feeling.
• 34:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, the texting, the flirting, the phone calls. If you're
• 34:31
Speaker 1: into phone calls, I'm not, but all of it is
• 34:34
  Speaker 1: so fun.
• 34:35
Speaker 8: You Yeah, I have to be into phone calls now.
• 34:38
Speaker 1: So yeah, face times that's the yeah what I really
• 34:41
  Speaker 1: get to me?
• 34:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, time I got.
• 34:45
Speaker 1: I got two face times yesterday. And my new policy
• 34:48
Speaker 1: is say yes, answer the call. Answer the call, because
• 34:51
Speaker 1: I always just put it to voicemail. I'm like no, no, no,
• 34:53
Speaker 1: and I answer both calls. And both of them were
• 34:55
Speaker 1: really like great, fun, high vibe, like thirty minute phone calls.
• 34:58
  Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm glad I did that. I'm going to
• 35:00
Speaker 1: to start, you know, doing this more often. It's a
• 35:02
Speaker 1: nice way to connect to people.
• 35:04
Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I feel better after after the fact.
• 35:08
Speaker 2: Okay, well, go live your life, sister. You're fine, you
• 35:10
  Speaker 2: don't need us.
• 35:11
Speaker 1: You're gonna have a great time and let us know
• 35:13
Speaker 1: what happens after a month and report back to Catherine
• 35:16
Speaker 1: so we can stay tuned.
• 35:17
Speaker 8: Okay, yeah, okay, sounds good. Thanks guys.
• 35:20
Speaker 4: All right, and have fun and Ecuador and write about it.
• 35:23
Speaker 8: Yeah right, make sure you're journaling about it, yeah, every day,
• 35:27
Speaker 8: Like I'm going to do at least like a couple sentences.
• 35:30
Speaker 8: I decided while I'm there, just to kind of keep
• 35:32
Speaker 8: track of where my mind's at.
• 35:33
Speaker 2: So yeah, that's a good habit to get into, you know.
• 35:38
Speaker 2: All right, thank you, Okay, thanks, take care. Thanks, that's exciting.
• 35:43
Speaker 3: So funny, how I know.
• 35:44
Speaker 5: Sometimes people are like, it's so excited and thrilled for something,
• 35:47
Speaker 5: and then they hold themselves back because they're like, do
• 35:49
  Speaker 5: I really I don't know if it's a deserve this thing,
• 35:51
Speaker 5: but it's like should I should?
• 35:53
Speaker 4: I like, yes, you should.
• 35:55
Speaker 1: But people are scared they're gonna because it's like listen,
• 35:57
Speaker 1: as a woman, you give up your whole thing, your
• 36:00
Speaker 1: business that you built for a man. Like we if
• 36:02
Speaker 1: the guy lived here and was like, okay, you have
• 36:04
Speaker 1: to I don't want you working, we would say no,
• 36:06
Speaker 1: get run as fast as you can away from that guy.
• 36:09
Speaker 1: So it is hard as a woman when you've built
• 36:11
Speaker 1: something to say like, oh, I'm going to abandon it.
• 36:13
  Speaker 2: I understand that.
• 36:15
Speaker 5: I'm glad you encourage her to, like have somebody else
• 36:17
Speaker 5: run it while you're while you're gone, so.
• 36:19
Speaker 3: She's got a little give it away.
• 36:21
Speaker 4: Yeah. Also there's airplanes exist, Buffalo will still be there.
• 36:26
Speaker 2: Buffalo to Ecuador, Yeah, I choose it sucks.
• 36:30
Speaker 4: But also can he come here?
• 36:33
  Speaker 3: Want to?
• 36:34
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 36:34
Speaker 1: It doesn't sound like it's a good time for anyone
• 36:36
Speaker 1: from Ecuador to be coming here.
• 36:37
Speaker 2: But anyway, Oh, you.
• 36:39
Speaker 4: Know what, sometimes I'm living in the you know.
• 36:47
Speaker 2: In that farm will do it to you. I don't
• 36:50
  Speaker 2: I don't blame you.
• 36:51
Speaker 3: It's just idelic were well. Our next color is Lindsay.
• 36:55
Speaker 5: She is thirty three, and she says, Dear Chelsea, sorry,
• 36:59
Speaker 5: this is long. I I met my fiance Bryden almost
• 37:02
Speaker 5: twelve years ago when we were about twenty one, working
• 37:05
Speaker 5: at the same restaurant. We quickly started dating. When we
• 37:07
Speaker 5: first hooked up, I knew he was a keeper. On
• 37:10
Speaker 5: top of that, he's respectful, hilarious, and incredible listener, devoted
• 37:14
Speaker 5: to me and lets me know about it every single day.
• 37:16
Speaker 5: I genuinely feel that I found one of the good ones.
• 37:19
Speaker 5: We're just now embarking on this new adventure of getting married.
• 37:22
Speaker 5: The time is now officially here, and I'm freaking out.
• 37:25
Speaker 5: My parents' marriage was rough. My dad, a white American,
• 37:28
Speaker 5: moved to Indonesia after college to work as an accountant
• 37:31
Speaker 5: for an oil company, where my mom, a native Indonesian,
• 37:34
Speaker 5: was a secretary. I think they were happily married for
• 37:37
Speaker 5: some time, but my dad says he had a midlife
• 37:39
Speaker 5: crisis in his early forties and had an affair with
• 37:41
Speaker 5: a woman nearly half his age. I don't exactly know
• 37:44
Speaker 5: when this crisis started, but it's really all I remember
• 37:47
Speaker 5: of their marriage. I never witnessed any affection or kindness
• 37:50
Speaker 5: between my parents. In the rare times my dad was home,
• 37:52
Speaker 5: we all walked on eggshells. He frequently took so called
• 37:56
Speaker 5: business trips, which we eventually realized were excuses to spend
• 37:59
Speaker 5: time with his mistress. When he wasn't with her, she
• 38:01
Speaker 5: would turn her focus on us, harassing us with relentless
• 38:04
Speaker 5: phone calls and public outbursts, causing scenes. Side note, my
• 38:09
Speaker 5: mom nicknamed her the Bee since we weren't allowed to curse.
• 38:12
Speaker 5: They even had a child together before my parents divorce
• 38:15
Speaker 5: was finalized. And these are just some of the many
• 38:17
Speaker 5: painful experiences that I can't fully capture in a single email.
• 38:21
Speaker 5: When I was eight, my mom finally saved enough of
• 38:23
Speaker 5: her own money to flee to the US and access
• 38:25
Speaker 5: the protections and writes granted to her under the American
• 38:27
Speaker 5: justice system as the spouse of a US citizen. For
• 38:30
Speaker 5: whatever reason, my dad and the Bee are still together
• 38:33
Speaker 5: to this day, and my dad frankly seems unhappy, if
• 38:36
Speaker 5: not miserable. To put it lightly, the Bee is a
• 38:39
Speaker 5: nuisance of family gatherings. She's impulsive, acts in appropriately, and
• 38:42
Speaker 5: gives irrelevant commentary. She's not the most socially adept person
• 38:46
Speaker 5: and could possibly suffer from mental health issues, which I
• 38:49
Speaker 5: completely understand and can relate to, but there's no indication
• 38:52
Speaker 5: she's sought professional help. Despite this, my siblings and I
• 38:55
Speaker 5: have done our best to tolerate the discomfort of being
• 38:57
Speaker 5: civil towards her for the sake of our family. Yes,
• 39:00
Speaker 5: our dad is arguably a POS, but at least my brother, sister,
• 39:04
Speaker 5: and I have an amazing.
• 39:05
  Speaker 3: Superhuman mom.
• 39:06
Speaker 5: It's important for me to keep a positive relationship with
• 39:09
Speaker 5: my half siblings and offer any guidance or advice if
• 39:12
Speaker 5: they ever need it. But this all brings me to
• 39:14
Speaker 5: my dilemma. My fiance and I do not want the
• 39:16
Speaker 5: Bee at our wedding. So how do we navigate the situation?
• 39:19
  Speaker 4: Love?
• 39:19
  Speaker 3: Lindsay?
• 39:20
Speaker 1: Oh okay, Hi Lindsay, how are you Hi?
• 39:24
Speaker 2: This is our special guest Amanda Ceipher today.
• 39:27
Speaker 9: Sorry, Hi, nice to see you.
• 39:30
  Speaker 1: I'm sorry, that's a really difficult, crappy situation. I'm so
• 39:34
Speaker 1: happy that you're getting married though, And just know that,
• 39:37
Speaker 1: like you know, our parents don't define us at all.
• 39:39
Speaker 1: I couldn't be more opposite than both of my parents.
• 39:42
Speaker 1: Sometimes they give you like a roadmap of what not
• 39:44
Speaker 1: to do, you know, and so like your marriage will
• 39:47
Speaker 1: be completely different than the ones than the one your
• 39:49
Speaker 1: parents had, just from the how insightful you are because
• 39:53
  Speaker 1: of this.
• 39:53
Speaker 2: Now your half siblings are from the Bee?
• 39:56
  Speaker 9: Yes?
• 39:56
Speaker 2: And how many are there?
• 39:58
Speaker 9: I have two half siblings and then one step brother
• 40:01
Speaker 9: as well that she had from a previous relationship.
• 40:05
Speaker 4: Do they love the Bee?
• 40:08
Speaker 9: Yeah? I think so?
• 40:09
  Speaker 4: Ah.
• 40:10
Speaker 1: No, no, no, that's a fair question. So they love her?
• 40:13
Speaker 1: And do they know how you feel about her?
• 40:16
Speaker 9: We've never spoken about it directly. I think there's always
• 40:19
Speaker 9: some I can tell that they also feel uncomfortable at times,
• 40:23
Speaker 9: you know, when she acts out.
• 40:25
Speaker 1: Well, I think like you have to be prepared if
• 40:27
Speaker 1: you disinvite her, which you totally have every right to do,
• 40:31
Speaker 1: your father is probably gonna not come either. There's a
• 40:33
Speaker 1: chance that that happens, right.
• 40:36
Speaker 9: Right, And I actually do have an update. Since I
• 40:39
Speaker 9: initially wrote the email, we really needed to get going
• 40:42
Speaker 9: on the wedding planning. And honestly, Chelsea, I knew what
• 40:45
Speaker 9: you were going to say to me, probably to just
• 40:47
Speaker 9: do it, to have a conversation with him, and he
• 40:50
Speaker 9: actually was really receptive and agreed to not have her
• 40:56
Speaker 9: come to the Balie wedding. He is also still committed
• 40:59
Speaker 9: to contribute financially despite that.
• 41:03
Speaker 2: So wow, it's great. Yeah, this is a great update.
• 41:06
Speaker 2: Thanks for bringing one.
• 41:08
Speaker 3: Now are your your half siblings? They're all gonna come as.
• 41:11
Speaker 9: Well, or some can't make it just because of other obligations.
• 41:17
Speaker 9: But yes that I have extended the invites to them. Yeah.
• 41:22
Speaker 9: So right now, it's the holidays and I'm going to
• 41:24
Speaker 9: have to face everyone in person pretty soon, including the Bee.
• 41:28
Speaker 9: So it is a little bit, you know, nerve wracking.
• 41:32
Speaker 2: But you know what, hold your ground. You made a boundary.
• 41:35
Speaker 2: You stood up for what you want at your wedding
• 41:37
Speaker 2: on your wedding day. That is the most important. The
• 41:40
Speaker 2: most important person on any wedding day is the bride.
• 41:42
Speaker 2: Fuck the groom. Okay, so the bride, it's your day.
• 41:46
Speaker 1: You created a boundary, you're self respecting, your self preserving.
• 41:51
Speaker 1: All of these things are really strong choices that you've made.
• 41:54
Speaker 1: You did this all on your own, so like you're
• 41:56
Speaker 1: already a g Like this is all good stuff, and
• 41:59
Speaker 1: you can look at her in the eye with dignity
• 42:01
Speaker 1: because at least you were upfront and honest about what
• 42:05
  Speaker 1: you want.
• 42:05
Speaker 2: You know what I mean, and now, and just take
• 42:08
Speaker 2: the hot air out of it. There's only tension if
• 42:10
Speaker 2: you allow tension to be if there's two people creating tension.
• 42:13
Speaker 2: If there's no tension coming from you, she has no
• 42:15
Speaker 2: one to have tension with in the first place.
• 42:18
Speaker 9: Totally, totally. Yeah, I hear you, and it's going to
• 42:21
Speaker 9: be uncomfortable for me too, but I just have to
• 42:23
  Speaker 9: deal with it.
• 42:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, you just have to deal with it, and that's okay.
• 42:26
Speaker 1: But you know what, you don't have to deal with
• 42:28
Speaker 1: her at your wedding, So that's raactly and I'm like,
• 42:31
Speaker 1: I'm so so many women are going to be listening
• 42:33
Speaker 1: to this and be inspired by you and taking charge
• 42:36
Speaker 1: of the situation in the ways that in which you did.
• 42:39
Speaker 2: And also giving hope to other people's fathers.
• 42:41
Speaker 1: Like, I'm so pleased to hear that your dad was
• 42:42
Speaker 1: so receptive that he's still contributing financially.
• 42:45
Speaker 2: Your dad is probably miserable in his marriage. He probably is.
• 42:48
Speaker 1: I mean, she sounds, you know, not ideal. So yeah,
• 42:53
Speaker 1: so congrats on everything. You already crushed it. You're calling
• 42:56
Speaker 1: in basically just doing a victory dance.
• 43:00
Speaker 9: Definitely, No, I mean I still wanted to. I thought
• 43:03
Speaker 9: it would still be a good conversation to have with you. Absolutely, yeah,
• 43:07
Speaker 9: I'm super excited. Also, Chelsea, you're more than welcome to
• 43:10
Speaker 9: join us when Bali.
• 43:12
Speaker 2: Y Yeah, I love Bally. Next August is it in
• 43:16
Speaker 2: Ubud or is it on the beach?
• 43:18
Speaker 9: Actually a little bit southeast of Ubud in a city
• 43:23
Speaker 9: called Mangus. It's more like old Bali, they say, just
• 43:27
Speaker 9: like a little less crowded and less traffic.
• 43:30
Speaker 1: Okay, well, why don't you Catherine follow up with her?
• 43:32
Speaker 1: Because if I'm traveling in August, I'll totally swing By.
• 43:34
Speaker 1: I love Balie. I need an excuse to go. There'd
• 43:37
Speaker 1: be so event I don't know. Listen, I got invited
• 43:39
Speaker 1: to a lot of weddings, but I will only go
• 43:41
Speaker 1: to someone I just met.
• 43:43
Speaker 9: Oh my god, that would be a dream, I know.
• 43:46
Speaker 1: But don't get your hopes up. I mean, I can't commit,
• 43:48
Speaker 1: but you never know. With me, I could show up.
• 43:50
Speaker 9: I could just this conversation is everything, So I love it.
• 43:54
Speaker 2: I love it. Thank you so much for calling in, Lindsay.
• 43:56
Speaker 9: Of course, thank you so much for taking time.
• 43:58
  Speaker 7: Great.
• 43:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, this is that's awesome. I hope I make it.
• 44:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, have so much fun, Lindsey.
• 44:03
Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, kay grists.
• 44:05
Speaker 9: Thank you. And can I just say, Chelsea, I've been
• 44:08
Speaker 9: following you for a long time. I used to watch
• 44:10
Speaker 9: Chelsea Lately every single night, and you know, sometimes we
• 44:15
Speaker 9: kind of live in a dark world. So I really
• 44:17
Speaker 9: appreciate you for bringing laughter and joy to the world.
• 44:21
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 44:21
Speaker 9: I love your comedy and what you do, so keep
• 44:24
  Speaker 9: at it.
• 44:24
Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you so much.
• 44:25
Speaker 1: You know what, Also, Catherine hook her up with two
• 44:27
Speaker 1: tickets for next year's tour. Sure, because I'm doing a tour,
• 44:30
Speaker 1: the High Mighty Tour we're gonna and I'm sure I'm
• 44:33
Speaker 1: coming to a city near you. If I haven't announced
• 44:35
Speaker 1: it yet, I'll be announcing more dates. But we're gonna
• 44:37
Speaker 1: hook you up with tickets so you can come and
• 44:38
  Speaker 1: say hi.
• 44:39
Speaker 9: Oh my god, thank you so much. I know you're
• 44:41
Speaker 9: coming to Denver and I haven't been able to make
• 44:44
Speaker 9: it to one of your shows. I really wanted to
• 44:47
Speaker 9: go to the Red Rocks one, but I just couldn't
• 44:49
Speaker 9: make it happen. So I really appreciate that.
• 44:52
Speaker 1: That's okay, we'll make it happen at the Paramount in Denver.
• 44:54
Speaker 1: I'm coming there. Yes, absolutely, we're going to make it happen. Okay, fun,
• 44:58
Speaker 1: I love it, I love it.
• 44:59
Speaker 4: Thanks, thank you so much.
• 45:00
  Speaker 2: A fun Okay.
• 45:02
  Speaker 7: Bye.
• 45:03
Speaker 4: Oh you're fucking Santa Claus.
• 45:05
Speaker 1: Oh my god, I feel like Santa Claus. It's the
• 45:07
Speaker 1: Christmas season, you guys.
• 45:09
Speaker 4: Isn't it nice though, to know that you're gonna be
• 45:12
Speaker 4: like in different cities, like if you know specifically where
• 45:14
Speaker 4: you're gonna be, and like you can offer that to
• 45:17
Speaker 4: people and it's just like and you're giving access with
• 45:20
Speaker 4: this with this show, people can call it's just you
• 45:24
Speaker 4: also two for two, like some pretty badass women just
• 45:28
Speaker 4: called in like uhhh, I'm here for it.
• 45:31
Speaker 2: I love it. I love it.
• 45:32
Speaker 1: All Right, we're gonna take a break and we're gonna
• 45:34
Speaker 1: come back and wrap.
• 45:35
Speaker 2: Up with Amanda. And we're back with Amanda Ceiphred.
• 45:43
Speaker 1: One of my favorite people I really ever since I
• 45:46
Speaker 1: first interviewed it Amanda, it was probably on Chelsea lately
• 45:48
Speaker 1: it was I've loved her.
• 45:50
Speaker 2: She is so fucking funny.
• 45:52
Speaker 1: She's weird, and she says things that are inappropriate.
• 45:57
  Speaker 3: I love that.
• 45:59
Speaker 1: And you're not like an actor actor, even though you're
• 46:02
Speaker 1: a great actor, you're you don't take yourself seriously. And
• 46:06
Speaker 1: I think that is really the ingredient that makes people
• 46:09
Speaker 1: the most likable is when they don't take themselves so seriously.
• 46:13
Speaker 4: Thanks. And it was like like I reached out to
• 46:15
Speaker 4: you after the shit a shit storm, recent shit storm,
• 46:18
Speaker 4: which I'm not used to, used to operating in a
• 46:21
Speaker 4: ship storm, but it happened, and like I reached out
• 46:24
  Speaker 4: to you.
• 46:25
  Speaker 3: I don't know why.
• 46:26
Speaker 4: I felt like you were were similar that we don't
• 46:29
Speaker 4: take ourselves very seriously, and you are actually a comedian
• 46:31
Speaker 4: and but you actually know your you know your shit,
• 46:34
Speaker 4: and it was like it made me feel so much better.
• 46:37
Speaker 4: Thanks for for like at least like you're like, you're fine.
• 46:41
  Speaker 4: I don't know why, you know what I mean, it's
• 46:43
Speaker 4: something that you had posted. I don't know.
• 46:45
Speaker 2: No, no, no, I understand.
• 46:47
Speaker 1: But before we close, I just want to ask you,
• 46:49
Speaker 1: how did you meet your husband on stage? I mean,
• 46:53
Speaker 1: I I did a stage play the last time, the
• 46:56
Speaker 1: first and last time I will ever.
• 46:58
Speaker 4: Do that to myself and my psyche.
• 47:02
Speaker 2: Did you know, right?
• 47:03
  Speaker 4: Did you?
• 47:03
Speaker 2: What was it like when you, like, when you guys
• 47:06
  Speaker 2: locked in?
• 47:07
Speaker 4: I mean, I guess it was like a kind of
• 47:09
Speaker 4: a long you know, when that happens, like we were
• 47:13
Speaker 4: both involved with other people, but like, and I also
• 47:16
  Speaker 4: didn't know, like I I just assumed he thought I
• 47:19
Speaker 4: was a loser, because that's kind of how I, you know,
• 47:23
Speaker 4: viewed myself when it came to men. I worked on it.
• 47:28
Speaker 4: I no longer feel that way, but thank god. But
• 47:31
Speaker 4: I was, you know, like thirty or twenty nine, and
• 47:33
Speaker 4: I was in a like a dead end relationship, and
• 47:37
Speaker 4: I think that part of me had opened at that
• 47:39
Speaker 4: point because I was so done with feeling like shit.
• 47:43
  Speaker 2: Because of relationships.
• 47:44
Speaker 4: You mean, I was in relationship where I was completely
• 47:47
Speaker 4: just like not seen. But I was also like, ooh,
• 47:51
Speaker 4: I want to settle down. You know. I had the
• 47:53
Speaker 4: dream of the kids, you know, very early on, but
• 47:57
Speaker 4: so I part of me was kind of opened up.
• 47:58
Speaker 4: And when I'm when I met him, I was just
• 48:00
Speaker 4: like I really liked his voice, and I like the
• 48:02
Speaker 4: fact that he like salt and pepper hair. He's only
• 48:05
Speaker 4: like nine years older than me, but for some reason,
• 48:07
Speaker 4: and he was like a he's a feeder guy, so
• 48:09
Speaker 4: he his feet were so solidly on the ground when
• 48:12
Speaker 4: it came to that kind of work, and I was
• 48:14
Speaker 4: so scared. I was like floating, and I felt like
• 48:16
Speaker 4: he kind of in some way figuratively pulled me down
• 48:21
Speaker 4: and helped me through and supported me and had this
• 48:23
Speaker 4: like unconditional support of me in that new realm that
• 48:27
Speaker 4: I was in, and I had this amazing director, Lee Silverman,
• 48:29
Speaker 4: and I just felt really safe and seen and it
• 48:34
Speaker 4: was a new, wild, new experience that scared me. And
• 48:37
Speaker 4: I think when you're really scared and you have someone
• 48:38
Speaker 4: who's like here, take my hand, you kind of can't
• 48:42
Speaker 4: help but fall in love with something about them, whether
• 48:45
Speaker 4: they're a man from a woman, you feel safe. And
• 48:47
Speaker 4: I felt safe with him and then the show was over,
• 48:51
Speaker 4: he went back to La. My relationship ended, thank god, mercifully,
• 48:56
Speaker 4: like immediately even before the show ended. And then we
• 49:00
Speaker 4: talked a little bit. But then come January that next year,
• 49:03
Speaker 4: he was out of his relationship, and uh, it was
• 49:07
Speaker 4: so scary though. It was so scary to commit to
• 49:09
Speaker 4: somebody because I was like, I'd been kind of burned
• 49:12
Speaker 4: in my last relationship, so committing with him as a
• 49:15
Speaker 4: person who was free, like a real because when I
• 49:18
Speaker 4: was with him in the show, he wasn't a real
• 49:20
Speaker 4: He wasn't an opportunity he was there was no opportunity there.
• 49:23
Speaker 4: He was with somebody. I just was like, oh, I
• 49:26
Speaker 4: know how this feels. This is where I want. It
• 49:28
Speaker 4: doesn't have to be him, but I know how this feels.
• 49:31
Speaker 4: And then of course it was so messy that summer,
• 49:33
Speaker 4: just like dealing with like the the like ongoing just
• 49:39
Speaker 4: like ongoing trauma of a breakup and then talking and
• 49:42
Speaker 4: then and then like keeping the break. It was just
• 49:44
Speaker 4: like uck. And then I crucheted myself into oblivion here
• 49:49
Speaker 4: on the farm because I had already bought the farm
• 49:51
Speaker 4: and I was all alone watching Felicity.
• 49:53
Speaker 10: I watched Felicity she's another fan of mine. Car four days,
• 49:58
Speaker 10: I watched the entire four scene with four Seasons, and
• 50:01
Speaker 10: I was crocheting fucking Christmas stockings. And I had my friend,
• 50:07
Speaker 10: my best friend, Peter, who I'm sure you know from
• 50:09
Speaker 10: Netflix now he's at Amazon, came to see me and was.
• 50:13
Speaker 4: Like, are you okay out of here? I'm like, I'm
• 50:18
Speaker 4: fired of just getting ready for the Christmas season. And
• 50:21
Speaker 4: he was October, so I was, I was great. I
• 50:27
Speaker 4: was single. I wasn't great, so like that was. And
• 50:31
Speaker 4: then going through all that and being alone and being
• 50:33
Speaker 4: like out here in the woods with nobody for an
• 50:35
Speaker 4: extended period of time. I went back to LA for
• 50:39
Speaker 4: Christmas because my sister was out there and we all
• 50:41
Speaker 4: went to LA for Christmas, and then like started like
• 50:43
Speaker 4: meditating and cause I was just so lost, really like
• 50:48
Speaker 4: horrible breakup, extended breakup. And then in January I was like,
• 50:53
Speaker 4: I was like meditating with Alan Market like it was
• 50:56
Speaker 4: in January. Oh dear, we met up his place in
• 51:02
  Speaker 4: La Dear, so.
• 51:03
Speaker 2: Many deer you need to take or something? Did you
• 51:07
Speaker 2: take your vance today?
• 51:10
Speaker 4: My god, I forgot to take let's oh my god.
• 51:12
Speaker 7: He just reminded me, Okay, you can take it last night.
• 51:18
Speaker 2: Okay, take it, go take it right now.
• 51:21
Speaker 4: You saved my day.
• 51:23
Speaker 2: You don't understand, but anyway, it was great.
• 51:26
Speaker 4: That's how I met him. Long story short, that I
• 51:30
  Speaker 4: met him.
• 51:30
Speaker 1: What was the moment where you guys decided to be together?
• 51:33
Speaker 1: Did you call him or did he call you?
• 51:36
Speaker 7: I berated him because I saw him like a like
• 51:41
Speaker 7: like another person's Instagram and I was like, oh, so
• 51:46
Speaker 7: you're gonna like like now you're free.
• 51:48
Speaker 4: Like I was an asshole to him and then we
• 51:50
Speaker 4: you know, reconnected. But I was an asshole to him
• 51:54
Speaker 4: and he understood that. That meant I cared about him, yes,
• 51:58
Speaker 4: And I was like, oh you to go live in
• 52:01
Speaker 4: fucking sty for claw can't do the accent. I was like,
• 52:07
Speaker 4: good luck and he was like, Oh, she really likes
• 52:09
Speaker 4: me and she's jealous.
• 52:11
  Speaker 2: That's how.
• 52:11
Speaker 1: That's how damaged women show affection is by berating a
• 52:15
Speaker 1: man when we're that's how you know we've been bruised.
• 52:18
Speaker 4: But you know what also about damaged women, We can
• 52:21
Speaker 4: fucking fix ourselves and then we can be whole again.
• 52:25
Speaker 3: We don't know, we can hold it down.
• 52:27
Speaker 1: Once we fix ourselves, we can hold it down. Yeah,
• 52:30
Speaker 1: but it's nice that he held you down on the theater.
• 52:33
Speaker 1: In the theater during the play, he held you down,
• 52:36
Speaker 1: and then you held it down for yourself.
• 52:38
Speaker 2: So there we go.
• 52:39
  Speaker 7: Now.
• 52:39
Speaker 4: Yeah, and then like cut two a your litter, he
• 52:41
Speaker 4: held me to and I got pregnant.
• 52:47
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 52:48
Speaker 1: On that note, we want you to go take your
• 52:49
Speaker 1: lexapro go take it right now, get off this lock,
• 52:52
  Speaker 1: go take it.
• 52:53
Speaker 4: This never happens. I fell asleep with my son last
• 52:55
Speaker 4: night and I forgot to take my meds.
• 52:57
Speaker 2: Your son is a great rapper. By the way, I
• 52:59
  Speaker 2: loved that video.
• 53:00
Speaker 1: I love you, Amanda. Did you want to say something?
• 53:05
Speaker 4: I love you too. There's always something more to say,
• 53:09
Speaker 4: is there. I'm gonna go take my medicine now.
• 53:12
