- 0:25Speaker 3: Anyways, guys, we have a special treat for you today,
- 0:29Speaker 3: our first guest ever.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Do you feel special, Shane? I do, I do, but
- 0:35Speaker 1: I don't know the format, so we'll find out well.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Welcome Shane Simpson. He is married to the Real Housewives
- 0:42Speaker 3: of Orange County star Emily Simpson. They have been married
- 0:46Speaker 3: for fifteen years and they share three children, daughter Annabelle
- 0:50Speaker 3: and twins son Kella, Keller and Luke.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Did I get that right?
- 0:56Speaker 4: That's correct?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yeah, awesome.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Welcome Shane. Thank you so Shane, do you know Edwin?
- 1:04Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yeah, we met in Vegas one time when we did
- 1:08Speaker 1: a podcast for your wife. Oh that's right, well your wives,
- 1:11Speaker 1: and on another occasion, I believe yeah, that's right.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I forgot that you were there, Edwin, because you showed
- 1:17Speaker 3: up like for six hours and then you left.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 6: No, it's a good time.
- 1:22Speaker 1: You guys it was fun.
- 1:24Speaker 3: So all right, Shane, we're going to get to know
- 1:26Speaker 3: a little bit more about you. I know a little
- 1:29Speaker 3: bit about you, so this is gonna be fun. Then
- 1:31Speaker 3: we're going to talk about, you know, married to a housewife,
- 1:34Speaker 3: and then we'll get into the whole filming thing.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Let's do they finally have a voice?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Huh?
- 1:41Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Well, just for full disclosure, this is not one of
- 1:45Speaker 3: those housewives shows where we're gonna have to rip on
- 1:47Speaker 3: another girl or get involved.
- 1:49Speaker 1: With the drama.
- 1:51Speaker 3: This is really just to get to know you and
- 1:53Speaker 3: and talk about you and your whole experience on this show.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So I know Edwin and I.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Have been really just straightforward and sharing our experience. I've
- 2:03Speaker 3: enjoyed it, and I think Edwin, do you enjoy it?
- 2:06Speaker 5: Yeah? No, I love it. I enjoy it.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Like you said, Shane, it's a great place to kind
- 2:12Speaker 3: of use your voice and talk about your experience all
- 2:16Speaker 3: the shit that they cut out that we wish they
- 2:18Speaker 3: put on there, right, the fun stuff. So anyways, well,
- 2:24Speaker 3: let's get to know you. Tell us a little bit
- 2:26Speaker 3: about yourself. What were you like as a kid and
- 2:29Speaker 3: growing up at home?
- 2:32Speaker 1: Well, I grew up in southern Orange County and south
- 2:36Speaker 1: of Orange County, and I have an older sister. So
- 2:41Speaker 1: I have one sibling and she's an older sisters a
- 2:43Speaker 1: couple of years older than me, but also growing up
- 2:47Speaker 1: my two cousins that are siblings to each other grew
- 2:50Speaker 1: up with us as well, so my parents were their guardians.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So as a child, I pretty much grew up with
- 2:56Speaker 1: three sisters in the house. That's that's my experience. And
- 2:59Speaker 1: then I, you know, even though they were technically cousins. Yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 1: and you know, I pretty much stay in Orange County
- 3:06Speaker 1: most of my childhood and then all the way through
- 3:09Speaker 1: college and now adult life, I'm still here.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I bounced around a little bit, but for the most
- 3:16Speaker 1: part i'd been in Lagunenaguel, Orange County.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And I don't know.
- 3:20Speaker 1: As a child, I think I was irresponsible and just
- 3:22Speaker 1: didn't know what I was doing. And I think I
- 3:23Speaker 1: got maybe lost in the mix of three girls in
- 3:26Speaker 1: the house, and I was kind of on my own really,
- 3:29Speaker 1: so not to say I was neglected, but just meaning
- 3:32Speaker 1: I was just kind of doing my own thing and
- 3:34Speaker 1: probably kind of drifting here and there.
- 3:37Speaker 6: And Shane, I assume you were living in Orange County.
- 3:41Speaker 5: I assume you you grew up.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Affluent, meaning you mean well off, well off. Yeah, no,
- 3:50Speaker 1: actually it was I think it was quite the opposite.
- 3:53Speaker 1: My mother had two jobs. My father worked in uh
- 3:57Speaker 1: I guess now back then you wouldn't call it that,
- 4:00Speaker 1: but now you'd call it a startup. It was him
- 4:02Speaker 1: in four or five buddies, and they were programmers. And
- 4:06Speaker 1: I remember as a kid when people asked what your
- 4:07Speaker 1: dad did, and it came to my turn, I said
- 4:09Speaker 1: he was a programmer. No one really knew what that was,
- 4:12Speaker 1: and it sounded weird and boring and I couldn't explain it.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I said, oh, he does stuff on computers. And because
- 4:18Speaker 1: this is in the eighties, right, yeah, right, so it
- 4:21Speaker 1: was very early. In fact, my father, I don't know
- 4:23Speaker 1: if it's interesting, but my father's computer programming had to
- 4:26Speaker 1: do with telephone lines because there was no internet back then. Wow.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So he was focusing on expanding telephone lines for businesses
- 4:35Speaker 1: because that was the way of communication.
- 4:37Speaker 4: So he was pre internet.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so you were able to get multiple lines in
- 4:42Speaker 3: the business exactly.
- 4:45Speaker 4: That was the idea.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And so he worked on that and I don't think
- 4:48Speaker 1: he made a whole lot of money. I mean, certainly
- 4:51Speaker 1: he was able to care for us all, but it
- 4:53Speaker 1: wasn't anything exciting, yea. And not until you know, not
- 4:57Speaker 1: until I'm growing up and moved out of the house.
- 4:59Speaker 1: He Hell's company and you know, lives lifestyle. So that's funny.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Last time we saw each other, I think well before
- 5:08Speaker 3: the reunion, we were filming at a house and we
- 5:11Speaker 3: were having a conversation about you living in Utah. I
- 5:15Speaker 3: don't remember when that was. Was that when you were
- 5:17Speaker 3: a kid or as an adult.
- 5:18Speaker 4: When I was seventeen, I joined the Mormon Church.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Oh cool? And then when I was nineteen, I made
- 5:24Speaker 1: the choice to serve as church mission and so I
- 5:26Speaker 1: spent a year in some islands called the Cape Verdean Islands,
- 5:30Speaker 1: which no one knows where they are because they're really
- 5:32Speaker 1: tiny on a map. I came home, and I lived
- 5:36Speaker 1: in Utah for almost two years, just going to community college.
- 5:42Speaker 1: It was really just to be socially with my friends
- 5:44Speaker 1: who were going to BYU and doing bigger and better things.
- 5:47Speaker 1: And then and then fast forward a little bit, married
- 5:51Speaker 1: to Emily, and we were in Utah from twenty eight
- 5:56Speaker 1: to twenty thirteen. Okay, so or recently. It certainly wasn't
- 6:01Speaker 1: during call or anything. And Emily and I lived there
- 6:03Speaker 1: for five years and it was pretty pleasant. We enjoyed
- 6:06Speaker 1: it a lot.
- 6:07Speaker 6: So Shane, to clarify, I think I heard this right.
- 6:11Speaker 6: So your parents aren't LDS. You turned to LDS when
- 6:16Speaker 6: you went to college.
- 6:19Speaker 4: You're partially correct, it was when I was in high school.
- 6:21Speaker 6: Okay, but your parents weren't, right, No, No, what did
- 6:25Speaker 6: they grow up as well?
- 6:27Speaker 1: My mother's from Iron and she came over here when
- 6:29Speaker 1: she was in her twenties, which is in the sixties,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and my father's from LA and so you know, he's
- 6:36Speaker 1: kind of a mix. He's not don't really have anything
- 6:38Speaker 1: interesting to go further back to LA and yeah, so
- 6:42Speaker 1: that's LA definitely is a religion.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a lifestyle.
- 6:55Speaker 6: So your parents aren't LDS, your wife is an LDS.
- 7:01Speaker 1: How do you deal with I'm the black sheep of
- 7:03Speaker 1: the family, that's for sure, all right.
- 7:06Speaker 6: So, because I assume you you don't a lot of
- 7:08Speaker 6: I have a lot of LDS employees that I work with,
- 7:12Speaker 6: so I know quite a bit and most of them
- 7:15Speaker 6: don't well, I would say all of them don't drink.
- 7:18Speaker 5: I assume you don't drink.
- 7:20Speaker 1: No, I don't drink. I never had it. Even before that,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I just never really had an interest in drinking. So
- 7:26Speaker 1: have you ever tried it? No, I've never had a sip?
- 7:29Speaker 3: Okay, wow, full alcohol?
- 7:31Speaker 1: Virgin I am man. I'm a what do they call it?
- 7:34Speaker 1: A teetotaler or something? You don't drink any alcohol? It
- 7:37Speaker 1: doesn't sound very masculine. Hey, I'm good with that, Retta.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I'm totally How does that work? Because Emily drinks, right,
- 7:45Speaker 1: So she does when she goes out with some friends.
- 7:48Speaker 1: But honestly, we don't have any alcohol in the house.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And that's not that's not due to me or anything.
- 7:53Speaker 1: It's just her choice. We just don't really have any
- 7:55Speaker 1: She doesn't drink on a daily basis. So yeah, but
- 7:59Speaker 1: you know, if my parents come over. My mother doesn't
- 8:01Speaker 1: drink either, but I don't know what her reasoning is.
- 8:04Speaker 4: She just never did.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But my father drinks, and so, you know, it comes over,
- 8:08Speaker 1: we'll make sure to host him. Awesome.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Yeah, that's pretty cool.
- 8:15Speaker 6: I mean, I love that you're disciplined to just continue
- 8:18Speaker 6: on even though people around you aren't, because I know,
- 8:21Speaker 6: I mean from the outside, you know, When I look
- 8:24Speaker 6: at my friends that are LDEs, they're very strict with
- 8:27Speaker 6: basically following the rules if you will, as far as
- 8:32Speaker 6: you know, not drinking and you know, no coffee, I
- 8:35Speaker 6: think as well.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Right, that's right, no coffee or tea.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Yeah, are there a lot of rules? Well, I wouldn't
- 8:41Speaker 1: call them rules, although it makes sense why you would.
- 8:43Speaker 1: It's really just a choice. So we're given, you know,
- 8:46Speaker 1: some guidance, and you know, I like to say, I
- 8:48Speaker 1: choose not to drink, and to be fair, I'm not
- 8:51Speaker 1: really tempted to drink. So it's not like I have
- 8:53Speaker 1: this overbearing, you know, self control. I just don't find
- 8:58Speaker 1: an interest in it. So I actually come and those
- 9:00Speaker 1: who maybe have fallen and you know, kind of live
- 9:05Speaker 1: a sober lifestyle afterwards because they're much more in a
- 9:07Speaker 1: position where they have to have that strong will personality
- 9:10Speaker 1: and you know, and overcome the temptation. So those are
- 9:13Speaker 1: the people to be commended. To be honest myself, it's
- 9:16Speaker 1: just I just don't have an interest in it.
- 9:17Speaker 4: So it's something more than that.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Once you taste it, you know what happens. Yeah, that's
- 9:24Speaker 1: why I don't drink an energy drink. It's because I'm
- 9:26Speaker 1: afraid I'll be addicted. There's many times where I want one,
- 9:30Speaker 1: but I'm like, no, I think I'll never be able
- 9:32Speaker 1: to put it down, so I just avoid it.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Well, let me ask it, is, how do you are you?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Do you think you can resist sugar?
- 9:38Speaker 2: Do you?
- 9:38Speaker 1: Sugar? That's probably something I'm addicted to, And that's certainly
- 9:43Speaker 1: something my father says everyone's addicted to.
- 9:45Speaker 4: And yeah, that's probably that.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Would probably be a much much harder thing for me
- 9:50Speaker 1: to eliminate from my diet is sugar.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I would beg to say that it's harder to quit
- 9:57Speaker 3: sugar than it is to quit alcohol, you know.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and probably because it's more it's more available, and
- 10:03Speaker 1: it's just all around you, right, yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 3: It's everywhere, I mean, and you don't have to wait
- 10:07Speaker 3: till you're twenty one. I mean, you can get it
- 10:08Speaker 3: at as soon as your parents give it to you.
- 10:10Speaker 1: It too, right, right, and you could have it for
- 10:13Speaker 1: breakfast too, right, exactly, healthy sugar.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Now, is it true that you were Emily's boss? I
- 10:25Speaker 6: think Teddy told me that you were Emily's bosston. You
- 10:27Speaker 6: proposed to her on Google Chat or something like that
- 10:31Speaker 6: sort of, So that story I mean that.
- 10:33Speaker 4: So I worked in Orange County.
- 10:35Speaker 1: We worked at a real estate firm that did a
- 10:37Speaker 1: lot of financing for large developers, and I was starting
- 10:42Speaker 1: to deal okay on my own. So I was starting
- 10:44Speaker 1: to put together a team, and Emily was the first
- 10:46Speaker 1: person I hired or was hired and then put on
- 10:49Speaker 1: my team. And so we worked together. But we never
- 10:51Speaker 1: spent a.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Socially outside the office.
- 10:54Speaker 1: We're really it was pretty pretty platonic and just you know,
- 10:58Speaker 1: just a working relationship.
- 11:00Speaker 4: And that was that for about a year.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Emily moved let's see, she moved to northern California for
- 11:05Speaker 1: some other you know, bad guy, and then so she
- 11:11Speaker 1: didn't work with us anymore. And then later it was
- 11:14Speaker 1: like a year or two later, my wife at that
- 11:17Speaker 1: time decided to leave, and then I moved to Utah.
- 11:21Speaker 4: We all moved to Utah together.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So my wife at that time wanted to live in Utah,
- 11:25Speaker 1: she moved up there, that's where her family's from. Rather
- 11:28Speaker 1: than having more of an issue, I just moved up
- 11:30Speaker 1: there as well, quit my job. Than Emily and I
- 11:33Speaker 1: reconnected about a year later, and we spent a lot
- 11:35Speaker 1: of time. Back then, there wasn't so much texting, So
- 11:38Speaker 1: we were spending I was at the office, she was
- 11:39Speaker 1: in an office. So we were always communicating on on
- 11:42Speaker 1: a you know, Google chat, right, that was kind of
- 11:45Speaker 1: a thing back then, and so we just we just
- 11:48Speaker 1: talked about marriage on by way of chat. I wouldn't
- 11:51Speaker 1: say I proposed to her, That's how she sees it, but.
- 11:53Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 11:54Speaker 4: I'd like to do it.
- 11:54Speaker 1: But how did you spend time together? She was That's
- 11:58Speaker 1: a good question. She was in Colorado for an at
- 12:00Speaker 1: that point she travels for I'm the last in the list,
- 12:09Speaker 1: so she was in Colorado, so it wasn't that far.
- 12:11Speaker 1: So if she'd fly out, I'd fly out. And we
- 12:14Speaker 1: just spent a lot of time talking every day all
- 12:16Speaker 1: the time. Yeah, and then you know, we had known
- 12:20Speaker 1: each other by that time, you know, quite a few years.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That's amazing because growing up I never thought he could
- 12:27Speaker 3: ever have a long distance relationship. You know, like they
- 12:30Speaker 3: talk about somebody who lives in Boston or New York
- 12:33Speaker 3: and he develop a relationship. I do believe that there
- 12:37Speaker 3: could be a connection, but I'm just the kind of
- 12:39Speaker 3: guy that has to have my girl in front of
- 12:42Speaker 3: me all the time, or you know, within the reaching distance.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and I would advise against a long distance relationship
- 12:49Speaker 1: too resile. Yeah, but you know, with short lived I
- 12:52Speaker 1: think if you want to call it dating, I think
- 12:55Speaker 1: it was only that only lasted like six or eight
- 12:57Speaker 1: months of whereind of where. Okay, we were kind of
- 13:01Speaker 1: a couple, even though we never really defined our relationship.
- 13:04Speaker 1: We just kind of naturally, you know, became a couple.
- 13:07Speaker 1: And then she wanted, we wanted to get married. And
- 13:11Speaker 1: then I think I expedited it because I said, well,
- 13:13Speaker 1: we're going to get married us. We'll get married at
- 13:15Speaker 1: the end of the year, so we could, you know,
- 13:16Speaker 1: file our taxes as married, so practical.
- 13:20Speaker 4: I'm very romantic that way.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And I see where the lawyer's side comes in.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Yeah, So there you go, So that that's it. Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And at the time, I had two children, which I
- 13:30Speaker 1: know you didn't mention earlier, but that's because they're typically
- 13:32Speaker 1: not filming and so at that time I had a
- 13:36Speaker 1: two to three year old and a six to seven
- 13:39Speaker 1: year old, so I was occupied with them as well.
- 13:41Speaker 1: So the long distance relationship, you know, I was I
- 13:43Speaker 1: had my thing go when she was she was you know,
- 13:47Speaker 1: working kind of living in a small town by herself,
- 13:49Speaker 1: so it was a different situation.
- 13:51Speaker 4: It just kind of worked out.
- 13:53Speaker 3: So she had to come to you because obviously you
- 13:55Speaker 3: couldn't up up your.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Kids correct, correct, nor did I want to. And she
- 14:00Speaker 1: she wasn't really grounded in Colorado, right. I think she
- 14:04Speaker 1: enjoyed Colorado the state, but I don't think she was grounded.
- 14:06Speaker 4: So she was quick to get up and move to Utah.
- 14:09Speaker 6: Okay, so how old were you when you first got married?
- 14:14Speaker 1: I was twenty three. I think, well that's young. Yeah,
- 14:19Speaker 1: I was pretty young. I don't think I knew what
- 14:21Speaker 1: I was doing.
- 14:22Speaker 6: So, yeah, well that's a long time if I assume
- 14:24Speaker 6: you were a virgin still at twenty three, if you were.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Yeah, that's correct. Yeah, let's get right out there and
- 14:29Speaker 4: say it.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yeah, forty year old virgin. I mean twenty three. He
- 14:34Speaker 1: was asking about the alcohol, but I know what he
- 14:36Speaker 1: really wanted to ask.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Right, So, how does so then you get a divorce?
- 14:40Speaker 3: Right?
- 14:41Speaker 4: Correct?
- 14:41Speaker 1: Does that mean that ten years? Is to be clear,
- 14:44Speaker 1: because I'm sure that was another question. Ten years you
- 14:46Speaker 1: were married?
- 14:47Speaker 6: Oh, I realized you were married that long, But no,
- 14:49Speaker 6: the ten years, that's a long time. So now you're
- 14:52Speaker 6: married ten years, you get a divorce. So do you
- 14:55Speaker 6: technically have to wait until you get married to have
- 14:58Speaker 6: sex again or you already had? Actually you don't have
- 15:00Speaker 6: to wait or did you, like with you and Emily,
- 15:03Speaker 6: did you have to wait till you.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Got married to have sex again?
- 15:06Speaker 4: It's again it's a choice, but yeah, yeah, wait for marriage.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that's pretty awesome.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Well instead of calling I guess what did you call
- 15:16Speaker 3: him earlier, Edwin?
- 15:20Speaker 1: What did you call me?
- 15:22Speaker 5: No?
- 15:22Speaker 3: No, not him, but the whole disciplinary Like to me,
- 15:26Speaker 3: it's rules.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Rules.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like a self discipline. Yeah, that you
- 15:33Speaker 3: just have to live by. It's it's not somebody else's lifestyle.
- 15:36Speaker 5: That's that's the word. It's a lifestyle.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Yeah, most certainly.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I mean, and if you want to talk about discipline,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I know mostly for the youth in our church. They
- 15:45Speaker 1: the last couple of years, like once a year, they've
- 15:47Speaker 1: been advising or challenging the youth to delete their social
- 15:51Speaker 1: media off their phone for just a week, just a
- 15:54Speaker 1: week to kind of get grounded once again, kind of
- 15:57Speaker 1: connect in different ways. And it's my children did it. Obviously,
- 16:01Speaker 1: the little ones it didn't matter, but my two teenage
- 16:04Speaker 1: daughters at the time did it, and they had a
- 16:06Speaker 1: great experience doing it, so they did it every year.
- 16:08Speaker 1: They kind of just I mean it's only a week, right,
- 16:10Speaker 1: It sounds like that's a big deal, but it was
- 16:13Speaker 1: about a year.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 16:16Speaker 1: But anyway, it comes down to, yeah, discipline and making
- 16:19Speaker 1: sure you can kind of control your your urges and
- 16:21Speaker 1: your cravings and things like that.
- 16:23Speaker 3: So yeah, I think that's such a valuable, valuable lesson.
- 16:27Speaker 3: I mean, you agree, right when it takes a lot
- 16:29Speaker 3: of discipline to be successful, in my opinion, and that's
- 16:34Speaker 3: just a small part of it. You know, when you
- 16:35Speaker 3: make a choice to not drink, you know everybody else
- 16:40Speaker 3: is doing it, why can't I kind of thing? Right,
- 16:43Speaker 3: you know, that's that's awesome. I wish I had that
- 16:45Speaker 3: when I was young, but I had the opposite. Everybody
- 16:47Speaker 3: was drinking around me, and even though I didn't like it,
- 16:50Speaker 3: I tried it and I still didn't like it. Fortunately
- 16:54Speaker 3: it didn't stick, so it was not one of those
- 16:57Speaker 3: things that I ever really missed. But in the society
- 17:02Speaker 3: we live in, having tasted alcohol, it's almost like it's everywhere,
- 17:07Speaker 3: right in movies and when the Happy Times success, Hey,
- 17:11Speaker 3: we just made a big deal. Let's cheer, or somebody
- 17:13Speaker 3: dies or you know, they lose the war. Oh I
- 17:16Speaker 3: need a whiskey or something.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Right, it's everywhere.
- 17:20Speaker 3: It's crazy how society just kind of influences you to
- 17:24Speaker 3: do that lifestyle, which is very unhealthy in my opinion,
- 17:27Speaker 3: drinking alcohol all the time.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yeah, but you make a very good point. Sugar is
- 17:31Speaker 4: no different.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I do believe, as much as I'm not wanted to
- 17:34Speaker 1: preach because I'm not disciplined like that, but it's very
- 17:37Speaker 1: much the same thing. You know, it's a comfort food,
- 17:39Speaker 1: it's a go to you know. I mean, how often
- 17:41Speaker 1: are we trying to teach our kids. I mean it's
- 17:43Speaker 1: twenty four to seven fighting the kids to keep off
- 17:45Speaker 1: of the sugar. So yeah, yeah, you.
- 17:48Speaker 5: Know there's the blinding of the kids coming together.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:51Speaker 6: You had two kids, and I did Emily have kids too.
- 17:54Speaker 1: No, she didn't have any children. So when we got married,
- 17:57Speaker 1: it was give or take. It was about tears old
- 18:00Speaker 1: than seven years old, two and some change and seven
- 18:02Speaker 1: and some change when they were when we got married.
- 18:04Speaker 6: So yeah, and the seven year old obviously is old
- 18:08Speaker 6: enough to know that it's somebody knew. Was it pretty
- 18:12Speaker 6: easy for them to get along right off the bat
- 18:14Speaker 6: or was that a challenge it?
- 18:15Speaker 1: No, it was it was really easy. I mean, looking back,
- 18:17Speaker 1: it could have been difficult, but I think it was.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You know, I credit Emily a lot, and I always
- 18:22Speaker 1: have that she really, you know, I lived in a
- 18:25Speaker 1: house that just kind of had toys everywhere and just
- 18:28Speaker 1: random furniture and you know, and I didn't really make
- 18:31Speaker 1: it a home. And I remember when she came in,
- 18:34Speaker 1: she really just cleaned it up and decorated the girl's
- 18:38Speaker 1: room and she taught me a lot. And so I've
- 18:40Speaker 1: always been grateful for that. And I think my daughter's
- 18:44Speaker 1: probably gravitated towards her very easily because there was no
- 18:48Speaker 1: female in the house. So maybe it made it easier
- 18:51Speaker 1: for them to gravitate towards her because there was something missing.
- 18:56Speaker 3: So this is probably a question for Emily. But was
- 18:58Speaker 3: there any animosity between your X and Emily? Was it
- 19:01Speaker 3: was it easy or was it difficult?
- 19:04Speaker 1: There were there ups and downs, but I think, you know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: from all the stories we hear of other people, unfortunately,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'd say.
- 19:11Speaker 4: It was pretty easy.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, but that doesn't mean there wasn't their challenges
- 19:15Speaker 1: or times of difficulty or differences of opinions, or maybe
- 19:20Speaker 1: a little bit of stepping on each other's toes.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I mean, those things still.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Happen, so yeah, that's inevitable. So, Shane, can you believe
- 19:36Speaker 3: it's been six seasons since you've been on the Housewife show?
- 19:39Speaker 1: No, No, it's crazy. It is crazy.
- 19:44Speaker 3: And from my perspective, I think from what I witnessed,
- 19:48Speaker 3: the audience has grown to love you and Emily and
- 19:50Speaker 3: your relationship. I mean, I know, like most couples when
- 19:55Speaker 3: they're on the show, they don't tend to come off well,
- 19:59Speaker 3: you know, it's like, I don't know if the show
- 20:02Speaker 3: does it that way. I was lucky because our opening
- 20:06Speaker 3: or our relationship was really well done in the beginning,
- 20:09Speaker 3: and and we didn't, you know, we didn't have a
- 20:12Speaker 3: hard time with it right, probably because she had enough
- 20:15Speaker 3: drama in her life to deal with. But I've seen
- 20:18Speaker 3: what happened to you on the show in the beginning,
- 20:20Speaker 3: and it wasn't good. You know, it wasn't good for
- 20:23Speaker 3: a lot of guys. So I think Emily said up
- 20:26Speaker 3: Bravo con that the first season, the first few were
- 20:29Speaker 3: very difficult for you or you were in a very
- 20:31Speaker 3: tough place in your life. But do you remember what happened,
- 20:35Speaker 3: you know, all the shit that happened to you.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You mean, well on the show, I remember, But do
- 20:40Speaker 1: you mean what happened in my day to day living.
- 20:42Speaker 1: That made it difficult to navigate with the show.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because that's real, that's the real stuff.
- 20:48Speaker 4: And there was that.
- 20:50Speaker 1: There was There was a few factors that made it
- 20:53Speaker 1: really hard to get through the first two years. One was,
- 20:58Speaker 1: I guess, just the pressure that Emily gave on herself to,
- 21:01Speaker 1: you know, to be open, to be out there, to
- 21:04Speaker 1: try to build relationships with these women. So there's an
- 21:09Speaker 1: element of stress to that because it's not like I'm tired,
- 21:11Speaker 1: I've seen them. I'm going to give a week off
- 21:14Speaker 1: from seeing my friends and I'll see them next week.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You can't do that with the show, right You have to.
- 21:18Speaker 1: You're on a schedule. You got to always kind of
- 21:20Speaker 1: be engaged. So there was that. There was me having
- 21:26Speaker 1: to juggle the home life so she could be out
- 21:29Speaker 1: there filming while still maintaining a job. There was the concern,
- 21:34Speaker 1: the real big concern I had of something surfacing that
- 21:40Speaker 1: might upset my children, my two daughters, mother, and then
- 21:44Speaker 1: that would trickle down into them and then maybe now
- 21:47Speaker 1: they can't film, or maybe they're now being fed something,
- 21:52Speaker 1: you know, some kind of misguided truths or exaggerated issues,
- 21:57Speaker 1: and then that never happens on the show. No now right,
- 22:01Speaker 1: And so I was fearful of I was really protective
- 22:04Speaker 1: of them.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 1: And then so you can imagine what that said when
- 22:10Speaker 1: you know Emily and I are bickering back and forth
- 22:12Speaker 1: about what you know, I'm being more protective, don't don't
- 22:15Speaker 1: say this, make sure you don't say that, and she's like,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you know, get off my back kind of thing. So
- 22:20Speaker 1: it was, I mean, in the end it ended up
- 22:22Speaker 1: being fine. She did respect my wishes of you know,
- 22:26Speaker 1: not just divulging all kinds of bad history with their
- 22:29Speaker 1: mother or anything like that. But in the meantime I
- 22:33Speaker 1: was really concerned about that. That was my big concern.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Do you think it made your relationship stronger?
- 22:40Speaker 1: I think so. I think, I mean, maybe we'd still
- 22:43Speaker 1: be strong without the show. No one will know, but
- 22:47Speaker 1: I think what it did is it allowed us to
- 22:49Speaker 1: be more of a yin yang and we have a
- 22:51Speaker 1: dependency on each other. Right, when the time comes for
- 22:53Speaker 1: her to film, I just let her go, right, She
- 22:56Speaker 1: goes on a trip, I don't bother her. I don't
- 22:59Speaker 1: even check in on her. Isn't checking on me. She
- 23:01Speaker 1: does her thing and I can focus on kids and
- 23:03Speaker 1: work and whatever, and then when she gets back, we'll
- 23:05Speaker 1: get back into place. Or when she's filming, you know,
- 23:09Speaker 1: she knows that she'll she'll be with kids when she can,
- 23:12Speaker 1: like on her days off. But I don't bother her
- 23:15Speaker 1: when she's filming because I don't take it personal. I
- 23:17Speaker 1: think in the beginning I might have taken it personal,
- 23:19Speaker 1: and now I don't. Now I know she's doing what
- 23:21Speaker 1: she's got to do to you know, pursue what she
- 23:24Speaker 1: enjoys and to be a part of what she enjoys.
- 23:28Speaker 1: And then when it's over, she'll be back part of
- 23:30Speaker 1: the household.
- 23:31Speaker 4: So I think we've and she appreciates now what I do.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I think she didn't used to appreciate it, and I
- 23:36Speaker 1: think now she realizes, My goodness, now when I got
- 23:38Speaker 1: to go film where I got to go for a week?
- 23:40Speaker 1: You know on the spot, Shane doesn't doesn't question anything.
- 23:44Speaker 4: He just takes over.
- 23:44Speaker 3: So what were you doing for work at the time,
- 23:47Speaker 3: because I know you just became a lawyer recently right right.
- 23:50Speaker 1: So I was practicing law in Utah. That was a
- 23:54Speaker 1: that was a Utah license, not a California license. So
- 23:56Speaker 1: then I come here, I can't practice law and I
- 23:59Speaker 1: will was moved here, moved here under not so good conditions,
- 24:05Speaker 1: moved here because of family reasons with their mother, and
- 24:08Speaker 1: I don't honestly, I don't want to get into that
- 24:10Speaker 1: because it's also a long time ago. But that was
- 24:12Speaker 1: under really stressful situation circumstances. So then we moved here,
- 24:19Speaker 1: So I have to juggle that. I took the bar
- 24:22Speaker 1: once and everyone advised me not to because there was
- 24:25Speaker 1: so much chaotic stuff going on in our life. Took
- 24:30Speaker 1: it anyway, didn't pass obviously, set that aside, went and
- 24:35Speaker 1: got a job as an investigator for an insurance company,
- 24:38Speaker 1: and Emily was working as an attorney in an office,
- 24:41Speaker 1: so she had a day job, so allowed me to
- 24:43Speaker 1: take kids to school, pick up kids from school while
- 24:46Speaker 1: she got to go to work, and then I'd work
- 24:47Speaker 1: in the evenings if I had to miss out, and
- 24:49Speaker 1: during the day. So that's what I did for quite
- 24:51Speaker 1: a while. And then, as you know on the show,
- 24:53Speaker 1: I was taking the bar again. So now I'm trying
- 24:55Speaker 1: to study. And then this is where Emily doesn't realize,
- 24:58Speaker 1: you know, filming is draining, and so when it's draining
- 25:03Speaker 1: on her, like I can't just step I can't just
- 25:07Speaker 1: step away from I'm supposed to do. It's a full
- 25:08Speaker 1: time job, which is prepare to help you and to
- 25:11Speaker 1: film with you, able to watch the kids or whatever.
- 25:13Speaker 1: So it was really hard that way. I don't know
- 25:15Speaker 1: if I answered the question, but that's what we're going through.
- 25:18Speaker 1: The first did you.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Did you ever feel like maybe a little bit of
- 25:22Speaker 6: competition in that here you are studying for the bar,
- 25:25Speaker 6: she's already passed it, you hired her, she becomes a
- 25:28Speaker 6: lawyer first, and then she's kind of.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a little.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I don't know if embarrassing is the right word, because
- 25:36Speaker 1: that's a little strong word, but yeah, it's a little bit,
- 25:38Speaker 1: you know, you feel a little inferior, you know, But
- 25:41Speaker 1: I mean it's not to the point I've seen comments
- 25:43Speaker 1: where people make it like I'm you know, like I'm
- 25:46Speaker 1: completely i don't know what the word incompetent, yeah, or
- 25:51Speaker 1: like I'm totally intimidated by her, like to the point
- 25:55Speaker 1: where now now I'm just you know, acting out.
- 25:58Speaker 4: But it wasn'tn't like that.
- 26:00Speaker 3: You know, well, you know one of the things that
- 26:02Speaker 3: the show failed to say is that you're already a lawyer.
- 26:07Speaker 1: You know, it's not like you just started.
- 26:09Speaker 3: It's minor details that they leave out.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Right right right, and then the other details that you know,
- 26:13Speaker 1: everyone thinks we just live off of you know, family
- 26:16Speaker 1: money and this and that, and they don't understand them,
- 26:18Speaker 1: and we're running around trying to juggle things just the same. Yeah. So,
- 26:22Speaker 1: I mean, I know people have it harder and people
- 26:24Speaker 1: have it easier, but we're running around, you know, we
- 26:27Speaker 1: got stresses and this and that and try and make
- 26:30Speaker 1: ends meet and make sure we got you know, five kids,
- 26:32Speaker 1: provide for child support, was paying all kinds of things.
- 26:36Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, And again the show portrayed your mom
- 26:41Speaker 3: and dad are obviously well off. There was a lot
- 26:43Speaker 3: of parties at their house, so it makes them look like,
- 26:47Speaker 3: you know, they're supporting the entire family, from you to
- 26:50Speaker 3: your sister, to everybody.
- 26:51Speaker 1: It's just the way the show is.
- 26:54Speaker 4: But it doesn't it doesn't always work that way.
- 26:55Speaker 1: I mean, you don't just unload all kinds of is
- 27:00Speaker 1: an open bank guard and do whatever you wish, you know, so.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I think there are some families like
- 27:06Speaker 3: that in Orange County, honestly.
- 27:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Well yeah, but it's not, it's not everyone, it's not.
- 27:11Speaker 1: It's not as easy as that.
- 27:12Speaker 3: So yeah, hey, so is it true that you renewed
- 27:16Speaker 3: your vowels last year?
- 27:20Speaker 4: No, I mean on the show.
- 27:21Speaker 1: On the show. Yeah, well no, Emily always wanted to
- 27:24Speaker 1: renew the vowels, and I didn't want to because I
- 27:27Speaker 1: think it's kind of I mean, our vowels aren't broken,
- 27:29Speaker 1: so I don't really understand.
- 27:31Speaker 4: That they're now broken.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Don't fix them. Yeah, and then and then there's always
- 27:35Speaker 1: like the you know, it's a sentence people say or whatever.
- 27:38Speaker 1: You know, it's because of death when you renew your vowels,
- 27:41Speaker 1: and the next season.
- 27:41Speaker 4: You're broken up.
- 27:42Speaker 1: So yeah, even though it's probably really just a superstition.
- 27:46Speaker 1: But I didn't want to, and so we compromised. I
- 27:50Speaker 1: shouldn't say we compromise, but we came to an agreement
- 27:53Speaker 1: where she would at least get to be able to
- 27:56Speaker 1: dress up and we'd have beautiful family wedding photos. We
- 28:00Speaker 1: didn't really have very good wedding photos though. Now she
- 28:04Speaker 1: got to kind of buy a fancier dress and kind
- 28:06Speaker 1: of you know, kind of have flowers and this and that.
- 28:09Speaker 1: So we did that, and then I gave her a
- 28:11Speaker 1: ring because the ring we got at the time was
- 28:14Speaker 1: pretty it was nominal. We just kind of rushed the
- 28:17Speaker 1: store and grabbed a little something. It was mostly just
- 28:19Speaker 1: a band, and so we got to kind of fix that. Hmm. Interesting.
- 28:24Speaker 6: What's your what's your advice on having a successful wife
- 28:28Speaker 6: and a successful marriage?
- 28:31Speaker 1: Oh man, you're asking me, But you guys, are you
- 28:36Speaker 1: have successes as well?
- 28:37Speaker 3: We're in the same shoes as you, Shane that we
- 28:40Speaker 3: were really excited to talk to you.
- 28:42Speaker 4: You know, I think it's not well show or no show.
- 28:46Speaker 4: I think it's not.
- 28:48Speaker 1: You know, making issues out of the little things, you know,
- 28:52Speaker 1: I mean, she leaves her clothes on the floor, so
- 28:54Speaker 1: what right, she drank you know, she drank my last
- 28:58Speaker 1: little bit of soda and didn't replenish it. So what Yeah,
- 29:02Speaker 1: you got to really pick your battles.
- 29:03Speaker 3: You know.
- 29:05Speaker 1: She leaves a toilet bowseed up, you know, right, yeah,
- 29:08Speaker 1: she has Yeah, she when she shaves in the morning,
- 29:10Speaker 1: there's all over the same. It's not worth it, that's
- 29:15Speaker 1: the little shit. But I really think so when I
- 29:17Speaker 1: think in the beginning. There was a few years where
- 29:19Speaker 1: I probably was nitpicky on all that, and I just
- 29:21Speaker 1: I just let it all go. It's just yeah, it's
- 29:23Speaker 1: just it's not that it's not worth it. It's just
- 29:25Speaker 1: it's not early an issue. Yeah, you know.
- 29:28Speaker 6: So all right, let's get to the filming part. Enough
- 29:31Speaker 6: about marriage. Tell us about when you first joined first season.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Did you think it was a good idea or were
- 29:36Speaker 5: you like, what the heck are we doing?
- 29:38Speaker 4: No, I thought it was a terrible idea.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Tell us what it happened. How did it happen?
- 29:42Speaker 5: So Emily.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Uh, We first moved here in twenty thirteen, and Emily
- 29:49Speaker 1: was working as an attorney, but she didn't really enjoy it,
- 29:51Speaker 1: which is fine, and you know, she was just wanting
- 29:54Speaker 1: to do something different. She was excited to be back
- 29:56Speaker 1: here in California. She wanted to be more outside and
- 29:58Speaker 1: doing something, not behind it. I live across the street
- 30:01Speaker 1: from my sister. That was kind of a coincidence, but
- 30:04Speaker 1: obviously we chose to live here. So when we were
- 30:07Speaker 1: moving here, it just the house opened up.
- 30:09Speaker 4: It worked out perfectly.
- 30:10Speaker 1: We moved here, so they became really close and they
- 30:13Speaker 1: were spending time to get my sister's an attorney too,
- 30:15Speaker 1: so they wanted to do something different. So bouncing around ideas,
- 30:20Speaker 1: they came up with a party planning idea and they do.
- 30:24Speaker 4: They throw parties. They love parties.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Was it a business?
- 30:27Speaker 2: You know?
- 30:27Speaker 1: They tried to make it one, and they kind of
- 30:29Speaker 1: had some parties that they threw. And one of my
- 30:32Speaker 1: things that Emily does is she was always trying to
- 30:35Speaker 1: reach out. She reached out to Tamra obviously your wife,
- 30:38Speaker 1: and said, if you need any parties thrown, we're here
- 30:40Speaker 1: for you. And that was really a publicity thing. She thought,
- 30:43Speaker 1: this will get me out there. And if you recall
- 30:46Speaker 1: Eddie she threw the baby shower, Oh yeah, baby shower
- 30:53Speaker 1: right or Ryan's daughter. Correct, Yes, I remember that now.
- 30:58Speaker 1: And so her whole intent really was just to get
- 31:04Speaker 1: a little publicity, little social media presence. Obviously, if she
- 31:07Speaker 1: ended up being on the show, she was okay with
- 31:09Speaker 1: that too, but that was not her intent.
- 31:11Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Sometime passed later, sometime passed, she gets called up up
- 31:17Speaker 1: She's like, oh my gosh, they want me on the show.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And I'm like, all right, I don't remember what I
- 31:22Speaker 1: thought back then, but she does an interview and never
- 31:24Speaker 1: hears anything ever again.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Right, she does a skype interview and that's it.
- 31:28Speaker 1: She thinks, oh my gosh, because she was up here thinking, oh,
- 31:32Speaker 1: I'm going to be on the show, and then they
- 31:34Speaker 1: never call her back. Oh, but you and I now
- 31:39Speaker 1: know it's a lot more than just a simple skype interview.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Oh, she was kind of bummed about that, but she
- 31:44Speaker 1: moved on. She really didn't. It didn't phaze her much after,
- 31:47Speaker 1: you know, a couple of weeks of being bummed. Then
- 31:50Speaker 1: I think two years passed and they called her out again.
- 31:54Speaker 1: They called, they reached out to her again, asked if
- 31:56Speaker 1: she wanted to audition. She said yes, But now she
- 32:00Speaker 1: learned that's not enough. There's obviously more layers to it.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And I at that time, I thought it was a
- 32:07Speaker 1: bad idea. I think the first time around, I didn't
- 32:08Speaker 1: have much of an opinion. Yeah, the second time around,
- 32:11Speaker 1: I thought, no, this is not good. And we was
- 32:13Speaker 1: kind of going through you know, she was hitting forty,
- 32:16Speaker 1: so she was getting all self conscious. We're juggling a
- 32:19Speaker 1: lot of finances.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Kids.
- 32:22Speaker 1: We just had three little kids, you know, two twin
- 32:24Speaker 1: twins that were probably less than one at the time,
- 32:28Speaker 1: and then Annabelle. That was two my daughters, you know,
- 32:32Speaker 1: were all over the place trying to juggle their schedule.
- 32:35Speaker 1: So I was opposed to it. Yeah we didn't fight,
- 32:38Speaker 1: but I was. I was strongly opposed to it. And
- 32:41Speaker 1: she kept doing the thing, Oh it's just one interview,
- 32:43Speaker 1: you never know. Then she'd get invited back for anothernew
- 32:46Speaker 1: and I'm like, this isn't looking good. She goes, oh,
- 32:48Speaker 1: it's just another interview, no big deal. And it kept
- 32:50Speaker 1: going on and on and on until she said she
- 32:53Speaker 1: was on the show. And so I was very, very
- 32:56Speaker 1: concerned about it breaking our family apart.
- 33:00Speaker 6: Now, were you comfortable with the cameras once you got started.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Or yeah, I don't care about the cameras.
- 33:06Speaker 6: I can't.
- 33:07Speaker 4: I can't take this show seriously, you know, the.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Cameras come in and Emily's all dressed up making me dinner.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I'm like, come on, this is you.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Don't do this.
- 33:16Speaker 1: You're in bed on your phone telling me to order something.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Oh god, So how can I sit there and not
- 33:22Speaker 1: make a comment. Right, I'm not going to play along,
- 33:26Speaker 1: you know, and just my mouth shut and act like
- 33:29Speaker 1: everything's fine.
- 33:30Speaker 4: In day I'm going to point it out so funny.
- 33:33Speaker 6: Now, my wife was telling me, you have a sarcastic
- 33:36Speaker 6: sense of humor. How did that trend? How do you
- 33:39Speaker 6: think that translated in reality TV?
- 33:41Speaker 1: That no, terribly, terrible, terribly because it's like I make
- 33:46Speaker 1: a comment and then it's like edited, So there's crickets,
- 33:49Speaker 1: you know, yeah, everyone that's like well. And the thing is,
- 33:56Speaker 1: Emily really had a hard time with the comments that
- 33:58Speaker 1: people had. You know, oh my gosh, they they hate
- 34:00Speaker 1: us whatever they said, and I had to try to convincemently,
- 34:03Speaker 1: look from what they saw. Yeah, it was from what
- 34:06Speaker 1: they saw that was a comment.
- 34:08Speaker 4: But yeah, but that's not what really happened.
- 34:10Speaker 1: You have to keep that in perspective, Emily, that's not
- 34:13Speaker 1: what really like we know more so let's leave it
- 34:16Speaker 1: at that. Don't be so quick to just go off
- 34:19Speaker 1: of what you see on TV yourself.
- 34:22Speaker 6: You know, I.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Can't agree more with you because I've had so many
- 34:26Speaker 3: conversations with Tamra about that same exact situation. What really
- 34:30Speaker 3: happened is what really happened, And who we are is
- 34:32Speaker 3: who we are. What people post on social media, especially
- 34:35Speaker 3: those that live in their basement and don't know what
- 34:38Speaker 3: the hell they're talking about You know, you can't listen
- 34:40Speaker 3: to that garbage. And if they believe, truly believe what
- 34:44Speaker 3: they see on TV to be real, you definitely can't
- 34:48Speaker 3: take them seriously.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Right And in addition to that, don't fault them too
- 34:54Speaker 1: much if what they if they're basing it on what
- 34:56Speaker 1: they saw, right, if they're basing it on what they
- 34:59Speaker 1: say saw which is not the full you know scene, Yeah,
- 35:05Speaker 1: then just let it be.
- 35:07Speaker 4: You know, you don't take it so personally.
- 35:09Speaker 5: To defend you.
- 35:10Speaker 6: I just I haven't watched the first season, but it
- 35:12Speaker 6: sounds like people went after you.
- 35:13Speaker 5: Did Emily have to defend you at times?
- 35:15Speaker 6: Or do you feel she defended you? And well, I don't.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I didn't need her to defend me, but she felt
- 35:19Speaker 1: the need to run around and be defensive.
- 35:21Speaker 4: But I was okay with it.
- 35:22Speaker 1: You know, Well you got you, Edwin did? Did Teddy did?
- 35:27Speaker 1: Did Edwin? I mean?
- 35:28Speaker 3: Did Teddy ever have to defend you?
- 35:29Speaker 5: Oh? I just stayed. I just stayed quiet.
- 35:32Speaker 6: I knew that if I opened my mouth I'd probably
- 35:34Speaker 6: get in trouble, so I just try to stay as
- 35:35Speaker 6: quiet as possible.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Oh I did too, But you know, I'm sure they
- 35:39Speaker 1: were nice to me.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yeah, but what about the audience, you know, because one
- 35:43Speaker 3: of my first experiences, and I think we talked about
- 35:45Speaker 3: this already, is that the audience sometimes will go, well,
- 35:48Speaker 3: your eyes aren't brown enough, or your hair's too short,
- 35:51Speaker 3: or your hair is too long, or your eyes are
- 35:52Speaker 3: too white. You know, it's just you never make everybody happy.
- 35:56Speaker 3: But that usually prompted or even even worse is when
- 36:00Speaker 3: the other housewives come after you for no reason, you know,
- 36:03Speaker 3: because they're trying to get to your wife.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:06Speaker 3: That happened to me a lot, because my wife can
- 36:08Speaker 3: totally defend herself, but when they started attacking me and
- 36:12Speaker 3: she's like, well, what the fuck you know?
- 36:14Speaker 1: Or her kids? You know, that's totally and I'm going
- 36:19Speaker 1: to guess for you, Eddie that whoever it was, we
- 36:22Speaker 1: don't need to have names. But they poke at you
- 36:24Speaker 1: try to get a reaction, but you're a little bit
- 36:26Speaker 1: more self composed and calm, so you don't. You're not
- 36:29Speaker 1: quick to react like some people we know, right, So
- 36:32Speaker 1: that makes them poke even more and more and more.
- 36:35Speaker 1: You know, you're right trying to get a reaction because
- 36:37Speaker 1: otherwise they kind of look stupid if they're saying something
- 36:40Speaker 1: about you and you know, you keep it cool, then
- 36:43Speaker 1: they kind of look stupid.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Yeah, go on Twitter to check out the comments.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Oh all the time. I don't comment. A couple of
- 36:53Speaker 1: times and then I stopped. I don't comment, I don't intervene,
- 36:59Speaker 1: I don't pose. I don't do anything publicly because I
- 37:02Speaker 1: don't want to disrupt like the housewife world.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Yeah, but I do.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I do get a kick out of what is filmed unedited,
- 37:12Speaker 1: what the show chooses to put on the show, right,
- 37:16Speaker 1: what the producers choose to put on the show, and
- 37:19Speaker 1: then what the viewers pick up. I think it's I
- 37:22Speaker 1: think it's actually pretty fascinating. Yeah, yeah, I agree with you.
- 37:26Speaker 4: A fascinating sense of just a form of entertainment.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I get to see what, you know, what the party
- 37:29Speaker 1: actually look like, what the women said or I said,
- 37:33Speaker 1: what the producers choose to show, what they find to
- 37:36Speaker 1: be of interest, and then you know, then you get
- 37:40Speaker 1: your mind blown because the viewers pick up something totally different.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Right. So yeah, well you probably already answered this question,
- 37:47Speaker 3: But did you ever feel an instance where you had
- 37:50Speaker 3: to step in or had to, you know, defend your
- 37:53Speaker 3: wife because she's arguing with not just you know, another housewife,
- 37:56Speaker 3: but maybe one of those male housewives that get.
- 38:01Speaker 1: You know, No, I actually don't because, uh, I mean,
- 38:05Speaker 1: if anything, I defend the other people against my wife,
- 38:08Speaker 1: I sh'll attack anyone.
- 38:11Speaker 4: She is lethal.
- 38:12Speaker 1: You're terrible, terrible. No, she doesn't need anyone, she doesn't
- 38:17Speaker 1: need anyone to speak for her. That's true. Yeah, that's true.
- 38:20Speaker 3: No, I I you know you witnessed it. We were
- 38:23Speaker 3: just talking about it this season. We were talking about,
- 38:25Speaker 3: you know, getting involved, and we were sitting there at
- 38:29Speaker 3: the table and I had just conversed with you about this,
- 38:32Speaker 3: and then it starts and my wife goes, you know,
- 38:34Speaker 3: head to head with Ryan and I'm like, you now,
- 38:38Speaker 3: and I haven't told you this, Edwin, but because who
- 38:40Speaker 3: he had just talked about not getting you know, involved
- 38:42Speaker 3: with the fights between my wife and another cast member
- 38:45Speaker 3: or another person.
- 38:47Speaker 1: But I had to. I had to.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I lost my cool and it was not good.
- 38:51Speaker 1: It was membership.
- 38:52Speaker 4: I wouldn't say you lost your cool. I would say
- 38:54Speaker 4: you you spoke up for yourself. Those are different.
- 38:57Speaker 1: But I was actually pissed.
- 38:59Speaker 3: You know. I never get emotionally involved with this show.
- 39:03Speaker 3: And when I walked away that night, I'm like, what
- 39:05Speaker 3: the did I.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Do, why did I get so emotionally well, in a
- 39:09Speaker 1: couple of months, you'll be able to relive it, So yeah,
- 39:11Speaker 1: I know, so wait till you see that Edwin. It
- 39:15Speaker 1: was a moment. Yeah. Oh man. Does it ever upset
- 39:22Speaker 1: you that Emily isn't in the drama or are you
- 39:25Speaker 1: used to it?
- 39:26Speaker 5: I now?
- 39:26Speaker 3: Like, I mean, what I've noticed is in the last
- 39:29Speaker 3: couple of years is that she's really stepped it up,
- 39:32Speaker 3: like she's just getting in there. And and especially when
- 39:35Speaker 3: she's filming with all the housewives, she doesn't she.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Doesn't hold back. She kind of reminds me of my wife.
- 39:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I think she's.
- 39:44Speaker 1: She'll she'll credit me for this, but I don't know
- 39:46Speaker 1: if that's completely it. She'll One season she was going
- 39:50Speaker 1: to be on and it was like two seasons ago
- 39:53Speaker 1: or something, and she had a lot of reservations, and
- 39:56Speaker 1: I said, just go on, like it's your last season.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Just do whatever you want to do. Don't worry about
- 40:01Speaker 1: trying to say what is right or what people want
- 40:04Speaker 1: to hear or see. And that helped her. That was
- 40:08Speaker 1: a good season for her, and she was very happy
- 40:10Speaker 1: and then she enjoyed it and she got close to
- 40:12Speaker 1: Tamra and the other ladies, and so she felt more confident.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And then I think another I don't know, another season
- 40:18Speaker 1: or two. I can't keep track. She was like that,
- 40:21Speaker 1: and so she was just being herself instead of worrying
- 40:24Speaker 1: about how something looks. And so I think her confidence
- 40:28Speaker 1: has increased. Not off cam, off camera she has a
- 40:30Speaker 1: lot of confidence, but in front of the camera, I
- 40:32Speaker 1: think she has more confidence to just be yourself, to
- 40:35Speaker 1: speak up, to call someone out on something, or to
- 40:37Speaker 1: explain herself on something, or defend herself or.
- 40:41Speaker 4: You know, in all those things.
- 40:44Speaker 1: So I think that's what you're speaking about.
- 40:46Speaker 6: Yeah, And does the show ever hurt business at all
- 40:50Speaker 6: with both of you guys being lawyers or does it
- 40:51Speaker 6: actually help it?
- 40:53Speaker 1: Well, Emily's not practicing anymore now that I'm working full time.
- 40:56Speaker 1: She's at home, and which is nice because you know,
- 41:00Speaker 1: she's able to connect with the kids a lot better.
- 41:03Speaker 4: No, I don't think so.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I mean I've gone I go to hearings and and uh,
- 41:07Speaker 1: you know, attorneys come up to me and stuff, but
- 41:10Speaker 1: they're all everyone's nice, so it's all fun. Do they
- 41:13Speaker 1: ever want to take a picture with you?
- 41:15Speaker 4: I've had I've had a judge. Yeah, be a little really.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that is so cool.
- 41:22Speaker 3: I was gonna ask you about that, like, what what
- 41:25Speaker 3: is your life now?
- 41:26Speaker 1: Actually, actually, all the all the men always say, oh,
- 41:29Speaker 1: can I get a picture for my wife?
- 41:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't.
- 41:32Speaker 3: I don't.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I don't like that one either.
- 41:36Speaker 6: Well, speaking of that, I hear your your reality that
- 41:39Speaker 6: you love reality TV?
- 41:40Speaker 5: So what which show which?
- 41:43Speaker 6: What's your favorite from all the from the franchises with
- 41:46Speaker 6: Real Housewives?
- 41:47Speaker 1: Uh, Emily and I used to watch a lot of
- 41:50Speaker 1: ninety Day Fiance. We like the train wrecks, you know,
- 41:53Speaker 1: the Team Mom, ninety Day Fiance.
- 41:56Speaker 4: You know, I think we watched Sister Wives for a while.
- 42:00Speaker 4: To be honest with you, the last last probably two.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Years, we haven't watched any reality TV. Yeah so but yeah,
- 42:06Speaker 1: oh yeah, we binged all that stuff. We'd watch all
- 42:08Speaker 1: that stuff. That is a fun fact. I didn't know
- 42:10Speaker 1: that about you. Yeah. I can't stand reality TV.
- 42:14Speaker 4: I can't.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I just can't watch it. I think I think we
- 42:17Speaker 1: watched less now because it I don't know, we just
- 42:21Speaker 1: we have a different perspective of things, so maybe we
- 42:24Speaker 1: don't watch it knowing that's not entirely complete or things
- 42:27Speaker 1: like that. So yeah, maybe that's kind of cause us
- 42:30Speaker 1: to lose some interest.
- 42:31Speaker 6: But here's what do you think would your mom ever
- 42:35Speaker 6: be a housewife or a friend of.
- 42:39Speaker 1: She pops up on the show and she's very happy
- 42:41Speaker 1: to get dressed up and come because she loves to
- 42:44Speaker 1: you know, she loves to dress up. She loves to
- 42:46Speaker 1: have be around women that are all dressed up, and
- 42:49Speaker 1: she loves that environment. So when Emily wants to film something,
- 42:52Speaker 1: she is front and center ready. She is adorable. Yea,
- 42:56Speaker 1: I just love your mom.
- 42:57Speaker 3: She's super, super cute and so sweet.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you, I have her energy level is really low,
- 43:03Speaker 1: so to be a housewife, I don't.
- 43:04Speaker 4: Think she could cut it right now.
- 43:06Speaker 1: She's you know, she's seventy nine right now. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:09Speaker 1: she's over it.
- 43:09Speaker 3: She's like nothing bothers me. I have a question for you, Shane.
- 43:22Speaker 3: I know that in my experience, it's hard to really
- 43:26Speaker 3: or it's been hard to really connect with any of
- 43:28Speaker 3: the other house husbands on this on this kind of
- 43:32Speaker 3: experience on this network. Have you had any good experiences
- 43:37Speaker 3: bad experiences with other house husbands, Like have you been
- 43:39Speaker 3: friends with them or thought you might be able to
- 43:42Speaker 3: hang out with them outside the filming.
- 43:45Speaker 1: I know, sometimes I'll mention it Emily, like, hey, why
- 43:46Speaker 1: don't we go out with like Tamer and Eddie and stuff.
- 43:48Speaker 1: But you know, with the filming being so intense, and
- 43:50Speaker 1: then when they're off, when they're done filming, I mean,
- 43:53Speaker 1: there's no disrespect to you guys, but she's just like,
- 43:55Speaker 1: you know, like, oh her, She's like, I've seen Tamer
- 43:58Speaker 1: every day for the past four months. Yeah, and I'm like, well,
- 44:01Speaker 1: I have it, you know. So she's just like not
- 44:03Speaker 1: in the mood to go out to dinner. And then
- 44:05Speaker 1: there's the element of, you know, off camera, if things
- 44:08Speaker 1: are shared and they're not really supposed to do that,
- 44:10Speaker 1: and I think Emily tries to respect that.
- 44:12Speaker 4: I mean, no one, no one's perfect on that.
- 44:13Speaker 1: We know that, but I think she tries to respect that.
- 44:16Speaker 1: So she's like, I can't really go out to dinner
- 44:17Speaker 1: with Tama right now. And you know, they chat though still,
- 44:21Speaker 1: but yeah, so that kind of is a disadvantage for
- 44:25Speaker 1: us guys to kind of hang out because I'll say,
- 44:27Speaker 1: let's let's double date with Tamara and Eddie and then
- 44:30Speaker 1: she's like, well, you know, I can't really hang out
- 44:32Speaker 1: right now, and you know, reunion's coming up in a month.
- 44:34Speaker 1: We probably shouldn't hang out things like that.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Well, you never know when they're going to be getting
- 44:38Speaker 3: along or.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Not right friends this season, no right.
- 44:44Speaker 3: I'll never forget when I think David finally divorced Shannon,
- 44:51Speaker 3: my wife, you know, because Shannon is really good about
- 44:55Speaker 3: planning seeds and my wife, my wife said something bad
- 44:58Speaker 3: about David. So next day, I know, I get the
- 45:00Speaker 3: message from David. It is like, bro, I can't be
- 45:02Speaker 3: friends with you anymore because your wife is you know, talking.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Shit on me.
- 45:05Speaker 3: And that was actually bummed because I like David. We
- 45:08Speaker 3: hung out all the time, we did Spartan races. He
- 45:11Speaker 3: was the only guy that I've ever spent time outside
- 45:13Speaker 3: of the show with.
- 45:15Speaker 1: And I guess if you if you hung out with David,
- 45:17Speaker 1: it's going to throw everything for a loop. Yeah, because
- 45:20Speaker 1: now these women are going to say he said this,
- 45:22Speaker 1: or did he say this? Or why are they hanging
- 45:24Speaker 1: out and all these things. That makes it hard for
- 45:26Speaker 1: you to go out and you know, have a drink
- 45:29Speaker 1: and then come home and be done.
- 45:31Speaker 3: With Well, it's because exactly that, Shane. When we were together,
- 45:36Speaker 3: we didn't talk about the show. We didn't talk about,
- 45:38Speaker 3: you know, this whole drama that's going on. I think
- 45:41Speaker 3: that's what really allowed us to connect on a on
- 45:44Speaker 3: a friendly level, right, a real friendship level, outside of
- 45:47Speaker 3: the things we had in common, you know.
- 45:49Speaker 1: But that's that's where.
- 45:51Speaker 3: I When I meet a guy on the show and
- 45:53Speaker 3: all he wants to talk about is the Housewives show,
- 45:55Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, dude.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I'm not hanging out with you.
- 45:58Speaker 3: You know, you're either fishing or there's you know, you're
- 46:02Speaker 3: up to something right, right, right, But.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes it hard to hang out then, right,
- 46:08Speaker 1: because you got a joke. You got to navigate that, yeah. Yeah,
- 46:13Speaker 1: And same thing with Tarama.
- 46:15Speaker 3: She she hasn't said this specifically about any housewife, but
- 46:19Speaker 3: it's very obvious that once she's done filming those four months,
- 46:22Speaker 3: the last thing she wants to do is get all
- 46:23Speaker 3: dressed up and go out and have dinner and and
- 46:27Speaker 3: and for that matter, what else are the girls going
- 46:29Speaker 3: to talk about when they're on the show.
- 46:31Speaker 1: They're going to talk about the show, right and reships?
- 46:35Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's almost inevitable, like I don't want to
- 46:38Speaker 3: talk about this for months, you know, I.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Don't want to deal with it.
- 46:42Speaker 4: So I get it.
- 46:43Speaker 1: I totally get it.
- 46:46Speaker 6: Did you ever, Shane, did you do you ever regret
- 46:48Speaker 6: saying anything on the show that you kind of look
- 46:50Speaker 6: back now that you've been on it for six years
- 46:52Speaker 6: and you're just like you watch season two or season
- 46:55Speaker 6: one and you're like, oh, I wish I wouldn't have
- 46:57Speaker 6: said that, or.
- 46:59Speaker 1: You know, I'm sure at the time when something aired,
- 47:01Speaker 1: it was like I probably shouldn't have said that, but
- 47:04Speaker 1: not really, I don't really care. I mean because I
- 47:08Speaker 1: do control myself. I don't say anything inappropriate to you know,
- 47:11Speaker 1: about my wife or children or anything like that. And
- 47:14Speaker 1: I don't get involved with the other ladies. You know,
- 47:17Speaker 1: I don't know them enough to sit there and start
- 47:20Speaker 1: to just have a conversation with em lane judge them.
- 47:22Speaker 1: So if she wants to download to me, you know
- 47:25Speaker 1: what happened with her when she went to on a
- 47:27Speaker 1: trip or whatever it is. You know, I'm more of
- 47:29Speaker 1: a listener, and I'll just try to be a voice
- 47:31Speaker 1: or reason for her.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you remember they used to take us out
- 47:35Speaker 3: to dinner and do that whole download thing. Now they
- 47:38Speaker 3: just do it at your house for free, that's right. Yeah,
- 47:40Speaker 3: such bullshit, And I'll never forget the first time that
- 47:45Speaker 3: we did that, my wife is like, stop eating. I'm like,
- 47:48Speaker 3: whoa is this reality?
- 47:50Speaker 2: Right?
- 47:51Speaker 3: But you look like an idiot. You got food in
- 47:53Speaker 3: your mouth.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Like, I don't care, I'm eating. We're at a restaurant,
- 47:58Speaker 1: at a restaurant, and.
- 47:59Speaker 3: She says, well, the sooner we get all the points out,
- 48:01Speaker 3: the sooner they leave than you can eat.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I get it now. Yeah.
- 48:09Speaker 6: By the way, we saw. What we have to ask
- 48:11Speaker 6: him about is the Instagram thing that we saw with
- 48:14Speaker 6: jay Leno where you look like Tom Cruise.
- 48:16Speaker 5: Oh yeah, there hairback.
- 48:20Speaker 1: That was How old were you? I was nineteen. How'd
- 48:28Speaker 1: you get on jay Leno?
- 48:29Speaker 3: Uh?
- 48:30Speaker 1: Well, you asked about my child, and I didn't really
- 48:32Speaker 1: show as far. I was a huge talk show fan, okay,
- 48:35Speaker 1: so Letterman mostly and then Carson a little bit, but
- 48:38Speaker 1: it was we were my friends and I were huge
- 48:41Speaker 1: Letterman fans. I mean I recorded, you know on a VCR, right,
- 48:44Speaker 1: I had record every night because my dad wouldn' let
- 48:47Speaker 1: me stay up and I'd watch it the next day. So,
- 48:49Speaker 1: and we'd talked about it at school and that was
- 48:51Speaker 1: our thing. In fact, in about that time, in the
- 48:54Speaker 1: early nineties, we had a TV show. We converted our
- 48:57Speaker 1: garage to look like a nighttime talk show and we
- 49:02Speaker 1: built a set. We had cameras, we hooked it up
- 49:04Speaker 1: to a computer, if you can believe. We did that
- 49:06Speaker 1: in the nineties, and we played it on public access
- 49:10Speaker 1: like Cox Cox TV. Yeah, it was on every Thursday night, right,
- 49:14Speaker 1: and so we did that. Never got anywhere, but that
- 49:17Speaker 1: was pre YouTube, so we were huge. We were huge
- 49:20Speaker 1: late night fans. So Letterman being in New York, that
- 49:23Speaker 1: wasn't going to happen. And so I wanted to go
- 49:26Speaker 1: to Leno and so we went to Finally we went
- 49:29Speaker 1: to Life. So I was gonna go to my church
- 49:30Speaker 1: mission that year. So I was like, I got to
- 49:31Speaker 1: go see Leno before I leave. And so I went
- 49:34Speaker 1: with a buddy and stood in line and then they,
- 49:38Speaker 1: you know, they pass out these cards like, oh, there's
- 49:40Speaker 1: a game where they're doing like a midnight confession or
- 49:43Speaker 1: something like that, and so I wrote, So I knew
- 49:45Speaker 1: I want. I knew I had to make up something
- 49:47Speaker 1: silly to get on. So I made up that story.
- 49:50Speaker 1: And I don't have a younger sister. I never peed
- 49:52Speaker 1: in her bed and all that stuff, right, But I
- 49:54Speaker 1: thought that was I thought that would get me on
- 49:56Speaker 1: the show, and it did. Genus. So then they came
- 49:59Speaker 1: up to me. I guess, I don't know. They came
- 50:02Speaker 1: to me and they're like, hey, you know, we want you.
- 50:03Speaker 1: We're going to pick you. And I'm like all right,
- 50:05Speaker 1: you know, and then they put me in the audience.
- 50:06Speaker 1: They you know, they strategically place you where the cameras
- 50:08Speaker 1: will be, and so I did that. But the fun
- 50:11Speaker 1: part that Emily didn't post was I got to sit
- 50:15Speaker 1: on the late night desk. I got to go down
- 50:17Speaker 1: there and sit at his desk with Leno and I
- 50:20Speaker 1: got my picture taken. So I remember there was a
- 50:24Speaker 1: gentleman that was there and I was talking because you're
- 50:26Speaker 1: sitting in line for hours. So I was talking to
- 50:28Speaker 1: this guy and he's like, guy, I come all the time,
- 50:29Speaker 1: and so I was asking everything about it because I
- 50:31Speaker 1: was I was like, you know, starstruck right just being there.
- 50:34Speaker 1: And he was like, yeah, you can see you know,
- 50:36Speaker 1: if you asked, they'll take a picture and you can
- 50:37Speaker 1: go sit at his desk. I'm like, really, goes, oh, yeah,
- 50:39Speaker 1: we'll do it. So I when Leno came out, I
- 50:42Speaker 1: raised my hand and I asked if I could do that.
- 50:43Speaker 1: I remember everyone sitting next to me thinking that that
- 50:45Speaker 1: was disrespectful.
- 50:47Speaker 4: How dare you?
- 50:47Speaker 1: Don't you know that? Yeah, like it was sacrilegious to
- 50:50Speaker 1: go sit at a desk. I was like, screaw you,
- 50:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask so Leno inviting me down. He took
- 50:54Speaker 1: a polaroid right because there were no phones back there,
- 50:57Speaker 1: so he took a polaroid and I still have that
- 50:59Speaker 1: polaroid today, So that's awesome.
- 51:02Speaker 6: Style. You had some Hollywood looks and back when I
- 51:07Speaker 6: saw that, if they would have asked you to be
- 51:09Speaker 6: an actor, would you have still gone on your mission?
- 51:13Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 51:13Speaker 4: I was pretty committed.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Okay, I mean, I asking an actor is far fetched,
- 51:18Speaker 1: that would never happen, But I get your point now.
- 51:20Speaker 1: I was pretty committed, so that's awesome. I was also
- 51:23Speaker 1: very lost at that age.
- 51:24Speaker 4: I didn't really know what.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I knew. You're supposed to go to college, but I
- 51:27Speaker 1: didn't know what I wanted to do. So going on
- 51:30Speaker 1: a mission really kind of gave me some guidance.
- 51:32Speaker 6: But seriously, I think if you would have been that
- 51:35Speaker 6: age now, you probably would have been a huge YouTube star.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Yeah, we definitely would have done YouTube stuff.
- 51:41Speaker 1: I don't know how big would be, but we definitely
- 51:43Speaker 1: because you know, we had to literally record everything old
- 51:47Speaker 1: fashion even had we had to get a three quarter deck,
- 51:49Speaker 1: which no one knows what that is, and we had
- 51:51Speaker 1: to do all this stuff to try to make a
- 51:54Speaker 1: We actually went around town and would record stuff. Then
- 51:56Speaker 1: we'd spend hours editing hours on old Fashion. Finally we thought,
- 52:01Speaker 1: how what this? We can't do it like this, So
- 52:03Speaker 1: then we thought, let's do it like a real show.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Let's just build a set in our garage and film
- 52:07Speaker 1: for thirty minutes, you know, have guests on, which were
- 52:10Speaker 1: just local people, and then we'll just go drop it
- 52:13Speaker 1: off at the Cocks, you know, headquarters in Orange County,
- 52:16Speaker 1: and then they aired it every Thursday. So that's funny.
- 52:20Speaker 3: You know, that had to have been That had to
- 52:22Speaker 3: have been like a nightmare because when I record on
- 52:26Speaker 3: my go probe, my rides and stuff like that, it
- 52:29Speaker 3: takes hours to put that together. And this is all digital.
- 52:32Speaker 3: I can't imagine what you had.
- 52:34Speaker 1: To do with the VCR.
- 52:35Speaker 5: It was.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a lot of rewind, pause, record.
- 52:39Speaker 4: It was miserable. But that's all we knew.
- 52:42Speaker 1: That's all we knew. That's true. That's true.
- 52:45Speaker 3: I'm sure in the next ten years, AI would just
- 52:47Speaker 3: do it for us.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:49Speaker 4: AI will create some housewives.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so we won't need people anymore.
- 52:54Speaker 6: Yeah, Shane, we can't thank you enough for being here. Seriously,
- 52:58Speaker 6: yees knocked it out of the ballpark.
- 53:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Well, with all that said, we should definitely get together
- 53:06Speaker 1: and go out for sure.
- 53:07Speaker 3: For sure?
- 53:09Speaker 1: Do you have anything else do you want to share
- 53:11Speaker 1: with us, Shane? I really I want viewers to know
- 53:15Speaker 1: that I really do. I do enjoy the show. A
- 53:18Speaker 1: lot of people think I don't want to be on it,
- 53:21Speaker 1: but I mean I don't necessarily want to be on it,
- 53:23Speaker 1: but I enjoy my wife being on it.
- 53:25Speaker 4: I really support her.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm really proud of her for, you know,
- 53:29Speaker 1: being open and honest and growing and building relationships with
- 53:33Speaker 1: the ladies and you know, working toward you know, resolving
- 53:37Speaker 1: their issues and all that. And so you know, I'm
- 53:41Speaker 1: I'm a big supporter of the fans. I'm a big
- 53:43Speaker 1: supporter of my wife. So well, we all have our
- 53:46Speaker 1: fixes and a lot of there's a lot of Bravo
- 53:48Speaker 1: people out there.
- 53:49Speaker 3: So well, again, thank you so much for being our
- 53:53Speaker 3: first guest. It was awesome. I appreciate you. We'll have
- 53:57Speaker 3: to get together.
- 53:59Speaker 4: It was an honor. I appreciate being asked.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Thank you, Shane, mm hmm
